↳ user she’s had a very long and successful career there, but it wouldn’t surprise me if she decided to retire from formula racing and move onto some other series that’s more woman-friendly, all things considered 🤷‍♀️. she has been runner-up every year that she’s competed, proven that she has what it takes to make it in a higher level of formula racing, and yet not a single f1 team has even offered her the opportunity to be even a test or reserve driver? 🤨 something isn’t adding up and i don’t want to say it’s because she’s a girl in motorsports but it’s kind of hard to ignore the proof when it’s put right in front of you.

↳ user guys the keyword is “if” here, of course, bc as fun as it is to speculate it is all still speculation and we won’t know for certain until it’s revealed by official sources. silly season is called that for a reason, and for all we known y/n is drawing out the announcement of her continued partnership with prema to stir up interest. she’s been in a very loyal and secure partnership with them for years now, a partnership that both she and prema seem very happy to keep considering just how long it’s lasted.

↳ user f2 is another series that once you win the championship you are no longer allowed to compete in, so prema may have kept her around to help carry her male teammates into first place until females are more accepted in formula racing so that she could eventually move up to f1

↳ user she’s literally a 6-time f2 runner up??? sure, she didn’t win, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still incredibly fucking impressive that she’s managed to get p2 against her male counterparts 6 YEARS IN A ROW 👀👀 her brother got p12 his first season and you know what she got? p2. she’s already raced with the likes of charles leclerc, zhou guanyu, yuki tsunoda, alex albon, george russell, lando norris, and a number of other very prominent formula racing names, and she held her own against them all incredibly well. she gave her own brother a real run for his money when they were teammates in 2019 and 2020, and in 2021 she was only a 9 point difference away from oscar piastri, whereas the p3 finalist was nearly a full 60 points below both of them. get out of here with that “there’s a reason there aren’t any female drivers in f1” bullshit, because the reason is misogyny 😒🙄

━━ a/n: first and foremost, happy international women's day! i've had this sitting around for a little while now and decided that today would be the perfect day to finally share it, what with the themes of women empowerment and breaking the glass ceiling. my main priority will still be my lando series until i can get that finished, but updates for this might appear in between on occasion. i also wanna take a moment just to appreciate the sheer amount of research that went into this, finding a team that would reasonably work well as an 11th team for formula 1 was a bit difficult, but i'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth when maserati fits pretty perfectly. also, as a twin myself, i'm incapable of writing a sibling duo that aren't also twins, and i have zero shame about that. anyways, i'm very excited for this, and i hope everyone else is as well!

Yk, something about my Eddie fell first essay, I never really went like "oh this is something that could be proven right by canon" mostly because when I wrote that I was still dealing with buddie being a distant possibility not something that's so close I can taste, but then Ryan was let out of interview jail. Then I went full conspiracy theorist. (Please note everything from here on out is a conspiracy theory that will most likely never be confirmed or denied so I'll live in it forever) I had made the post about how I think Ryan is playing Eddie as in love with Buck, the question was whether he was being told to do that or he was just playing it up as much as they allowed him to because we know Ryan supports the ship, and then Ryan said the "this goes beyond friendship and I love you to the core" thing.

He said he talked to someone about what it meant for Eddie to do that, because he didn't understand it at first, and then that's the conclusion he reached. But the thing is, that line "I love you to the core" specifically means so much in the context of the season, to say I love you to Buck like that in season 4 is so MONUMENTAL, that I wanna believe one of the writers straight up told him "yo this is a love confession" and explained it to him like that, and he has been playing Eddie with that line in mind ever since, and that's why he had that locked and loaded for the interview. Because, like, I, in my most normal day, am out here arguing they casted Ryan with a plan, even more considering the way Eddie was written for Ryan, they could very much have told him "look, play with the chemistry you and Oliver have, if the audience likes with might amp it up, if we're lucky we might go there someday" because you have moments in season 2, but season 2 is still very low stakes, but then when I think about the the season 3 of it all, the there's nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you, the lawsuit, and well of it all and the way they put Ryan in pr jail after Eddie begins, an episode that would retroactively be HUGE for buddie but it's pretty big for them anyway, I'm like 🤔 because we all saw Ryan talking about buddie this past month, the guy CANT SHUT UP, and if he was told something during season 3 or 4 along the line of "play it up, we are gonna fight to make this happen", putting him in pr jail would make sense, because they can't risk him saying something if they're not sure they can deliver, because how fast they dealt with Buck being bi while in a new network makes me convinced someone on fox was blocking it and nothing will convince me otherwise. But now they can, so they let Ryan run free. Because you can make a VERY strong argument that Eddie is aware of something during season 5 and 6, season 6 most of all, but you can very much make season 5 queer coded and have Eddie be like "oh I can't ignore how I feel about him anymore", because Ryan also said something about Eddie's breakdown and how that's what allowed Eddie to let Buck "know who Eddie truly is" which is interesting with the way Eddie is constructed, because if Buck is inside the last wall Eddie had up, what's actually stopping Eddie to see he's in love with Buck by the end of the season? Which would make season 6 as a pining season for Eddie make sense. Down to the way the cemetery seems to be pulling these very specific reactions from Eddie that are the same reactions we saw him have in breakups and flights with Shannon. But also things like Eddie's reaction to the lightning being something we never saw from Eddie before AND the way Oliver talked about a scene of Eddie losing his composure during in another life, not during in a flash that we didn't get to see most likely because they completely rearranged 6b because they thought they were gonna get cancelled, so they wouldn't be able to deliver what they had in mind. But now they have nothing but time, season 8 is already confirmed, and by the looks of it abc was like "go for it" with buddie in a way that fox never was, so they finally got to tell Ryan "we're doing it, go crazy" and now we are here. They could prove me right today. About Eddie not about Ryan knowing and some secret plan being in place forever. I don't think it's gonna happen. I seriously don't think it's gonna happen. I'd be more surprised to be proved right than wrong here. But the conspiracy theory is a possibility that felt very real for a second there during promo season lol

This will always be my favorite scene from The Boys

I mean, it's a really great scene, it's the scene that got me interested in the show, and worthy of me trying to do some breakdowns.

The scene opens with Stan Edgar watching Victoria Neuman talking on CNN NNC about the Supe-Terrorist threat. An innocuous thing, at first, but there's a few things going on that are apparent with the hindsight of later episodes:

It actually tells us that Victoria herself is the head exploder supe long before the reveal in the season 2 finale, given that this scene immediately follows her having remotely exploded Raynor's head.

Stan is watching intently because he understand the importance of knowing what the opposition is saying about you. Doubly so considering that Victoria is meant to function as a puppet opposition of sorts to Vought. (Though I imagine that this is changing in light of recent events like Homelander threatening her daughter to get her to betray Stan, her injecting her daughter with Compound V, and Gen V ending with her having obtained Dr. Edison Cardosa's Supe-killing virus.)

With the later reveal in season 3 that Victoria is Stan's adopted daughter, he's also watching her because he's proud of the life and reputation she's made for herself as a politician, and it's a good thing she's ended up doing this instead of rotting away in one of Vought's other secret Supe labs. That might actually explain some of Stan's annoyance when Homelander walks in.

Homelander walks in, having barged past Stan's secretary.

Homelander: Morning. Samantha: Mr. Edgar, I'm sorry- Stan Edgar: It's all right, Samantha. Homelander: Busy day?

Stan brushes off his receptionist's apology because well, he doesn't blame her. Saying "no" to Homelander's probably one of the most difficult jobs in the world.

Now, at this point, as Homelander starts to complain about the whole thing with Stan appointing Stormfront. Stan plays along with appealing to Homelander's ego. Homelander's obviously frustrated that Stan isn't intimidated or scared by his threats. In fact, Stan seems amused by Homelander trying to throw his weight around.

Stan Edgar: Good morning, Homelander. To what do I owe the pleasure? 🤔 Homelander: Well, you never come up to 99. So, I figured I'd pay you a visit. 😊 Stan Edgar: What a lovely idea. 😂

Homelander: Right? 😂 After all, you run a superhero company, and, uh, you never check in with your superheroes, do you? 🤔 Like, uh... oh, I don't know...around the hiring of that girl, for example. 🤨 Stan Edgar: You wished to be consulted on Stormfront? 🤔

Homelander: Well, why not? I signed off on all the rest. I'm the leader of the Seven. 🙎‍♂️

Stan Edgar: For which you have my undying respect. 😉

Homelander: See, I don't think I do. 🤨 No. Not even Madelyn would've dared to try and pull this kind of shit. 😠

Stan Edgar: Well of course, you know how important you are to everyone at Vought! 😂😂

Homelander: No, no. Stan. I am Vought. You show my photo to some illiterate fucking camel jockey in the middle of the Sahara, he's gonna turn around and say, "Homelander," in perfect American. 🇺🇸

Homelander: You know what? My contract's up at the end of this year. Maybe it's time I, uh, move on. How do you think your shareholders would feel about that? 🤔

It's at this point that Stan stares down Homelander for a solid ten seconds. There's no words, but you can practically see what each is thinking:

Stan Edgar: Your significance to this company is actually less than you think it is. And I'm about to give you the rundown on how that is.

Homelander: 😳 Fuck.

Now it's Stan's turn to assert his power over Homelander in this conversation.

Stan Edgar: What do you know about Frederick Vought? Homelander: Excuse me?

Stan Edgar: Frederick. Vought. Our esteemed founder. Homelander: Well, I don't know, um, not a lot, probably. I only read his autobiography...five times? 🤔 Stan Edgar: Not the self-serving bullshit that we peddle to the shareholders. The real story. 🤨

Homelander: Enlighten me. 🤨

Stan Edgar: Got his doctorate from Munich. 🇩🇪 Ahead of his time in genetics. Such the rising young star that in '39, Hitler appointed him chief physician at Dachau, where he enjoyed a ready supply of human subjects on which to test his earliest iterations of Compound V. For which we condemn in the strongest of possible terms. Early in '44, he felt the winds change, got spirited away to the Allies. When Oppenheimer was flailing with the bomb, Dr. Vought already had practical applications of Compound V tested in the field. Heroes like Soldier Boy, killing Germans by the dozen. So, Roosevelt pardoned him, and he became as "Wonder Bread American" 🇺🇸 as Disney and Edison.

Homelander: Well, this is a truly fascinating, if not slightly condescending lecture, but, um... I don't think I see the point, Stan. 🤨

Stan Edgar: The point is... that you are under a misconception that we are a "superhero company". We are not. What we are, really, is a pharmaceutical company. And you are NOT our most valuable asset. That would be our CONFIDENTIAL formula for Compound V. Which you, manchild that you are, released into the wild. 😒😠

Stan has effectively outlined how insignifcant Homelander is to him and Vought as a whole. Homelander's just a product to him. Moreover, as we'll learn in season 3, this has been Stan's line of thinking for decades, since he was the one who gave the green light to Payback betraying Soldier Boy so he could be replaced with Homelander. He believes that "real power... is the ability to bend the world to your will," and he's doing that here to lecture Homelander.

Homelander tries to bluff his way out, but Stan has that bluff covered.

Homelander: 😳 I don't know what you're talking about. 🤥

Stan Edgar: Well, let me remind you. You slipped Compound V to terrorists all over the globe to get you and your cronies into national defense. But maybe at the cost of destroying the whole company. 😂

At this, Homelander has enough of Stan and tries to get in his face to threaten him, but Stan stays perfectly unfazed and has no hesitation emphasizing that really, Homelander has no power in this conversation.

Homelander: I don't think I appreciate your tone, sir. 😡 Not much at all. 😠

Stan Edgar: And I don't appreciate that the FDA now knows about Compound V, or... that it's only a matter of time before the public finds out. While you're preening at the Golden Globes, we're busy running around like maniacs trying to clean up the mess you made. I don't have to consult you about Stormfront or anything else. 😠 Now... I believe you have a premiere of Tek Knight Lives to go to? 🤨

As you can see, this has clearly left Homelander knocked down a peg or three. He's blocked the whole world out and there's a clear buzzing in our ears as he leaves the office and he decides to go pay Ryan a visit.

Other Notes:

I feel in hindsight that Stan Edgar actually directly was hinting at Stormfront's true identity right here. I mean, Homelander barges into his office to complain about not getting to oversee Stormfront's appointment to the Seven, and the first thing Stan does is lecture him about Stormfront's husband, the founder of Vought?

I don't know when the writers decided to make Soldier Boy be Homelander's father, but that twist does in hindsight inform Stan's way of managing Homelander here. Stan was, after all, the one to sanction Homelander's creation using sperm procured from Soldier Boy, and he also is the one who authorized Payback to betray Soldier Boy to the Russians in 1984.

I need this as my home screen like asap AHDJSJS also notice how the pictures are not the usual octonauts style, but actually the above and beyond art style :OO it’s interesting cause the first two were in the traditional og style for seasons 1-4, but the last two have been above and beyond 🤔maybe conflicts with meomi? Intriguing, I say using my Inkling voice🧐

-On the topic of Inky, kinda sad he don’t got a big part in the show yet :C It seems like every episode has been very team-central, all of em in gups working together. I don’t mind it though, it’s a nice transition from LITERALLY JUST KWAZII PESO AND BARNACLES EVERY GAH DAMN EPISODE in season 1-4 then to literally anyone else in above and beyond LMAO

My thoughts as I watched the Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1 on Disney+

Episode by episode random thoughts below, but overall I loved it. The actors are really good at what they do and I love who they chose as Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Luke, Clarisse… etc.. all of them were fun to watch.

Yeah I was disappointed with the ways many of the scenes were done, but I also don’t think an exact copy of the book would have been relevant now. It’s definitely been adjusted to suit the time period and just because they were changed doesn’t automatically make them all bad changes.

Episode 1:

They’ve definitely made some changes which is obvious. They always do. But I love Walker as Percy. He does such a good job. “Okay… Why?” Was hilarious.

Somehow they made Sally even more amazing and her “death” even more sad. Though it’s an interesting change to make Sally do a lot of what Book Percy did in that fight.

Episode 2:

Luke and Percy’s relationship is making what’s coming even worse! The pat on Percy’s shoulder when leave Hephaestus’ cabin 😢 they are really showing how close Luke made himself to Percy.

Percy’s sass! Him during the waiting time of capture the flag was perfect

I kinda wish they had kneeled when he was claimed but meh I’m still good with this.

“I am Sally Jackson’s son!”

Episode 3:

“Oh geez. You seem busy. I’ll come back.” Poor Percy facing the Oracle

Medusa’s place brings up a lot of deep questions. I kinda like the way they took this. Bringing attention to the actual horrifying truth that is the gods’ cruel punishments is something I appreciate.

The conversation they have after everything is done was a nice touch. Letting us see them actually talk things out and see the bond slowly forming is amazing.

Episode 4:

The moment Percy changes places with Annabeth was perfectly done. Loved it!

Athena “my child embarrassed me so she can die for all I care” vs Poseidon “like hell I’m letting my son die and if that means I make a water tornado to snatch him from the air then I will”

Episode 5:

I love the popping their heads up from behind the concrete when talking to Ares.

Making it modern like Ares starting a fight on Twitter is so cool in a way. Making them “relevant” to the modern world is such an interesting take. I’m looking forward to seeing if they do it with the others too.

“Push down a flight of stairs” is very suspicious. That’s exactly what Percy said when choosing Annabeth.

😂😂Percy is completely on top of this entire park being a creepy ghost place lol though the music break was great

Hephaestus changing his mind was good but Annabeth standing up to him (and her mother) was better!!

Grover worked out who stole the bolt?!?!? This would be different than the books, but I’m still willing to see where they go with it.

Though also a thought… we are definitely getting a lot more of the gods than the books gave us. Never saw Hephaestus and it seems like we are gonna see Hermes next episode.

Episode 6:

Oh. They were wrong about who did it. That’s good at least. Figuring it out so early would not have been a good choice.

Annabeth stealing from the god of thieves 😭 even if he let her do it, for those couple of minutes it was hilarious

Santa Monica was more heartbreaking than I thought. Show Percy was really expecting his dad. But the fact he was actually there is something

THEY WERE LATE!! Wow what a change!

4 pearls!!

Episode 7:

The lack of the Crusty fight is actually disappointing honestly

No DOA Recording… I loved that one. Dead on Arrival was just clever. And no pay raise conversation 😢

“Only suckers wait in line” showing your New York City there Percy

Oh no. Now we are down to 3 pearls. Show universe is really out here making Poseidon a better father by actually caring. First he was actually waiting to see Percy and then he gives 4 pearls.

Annabeth isn’t with them anymore 🤔 I don’t like that.

“Sanctuary” for just a second I was impressed with Hades then he explained then I realized it was incredibly pragmatic of him.

Wow. I hold no animosity to show Poseidon like I do Book Poseidon. The immediate answer to Sally… Wow!

I hadn’t really realized I had animosity to book Sally but Show Sally actually did her best to prepare Percy for the world where Book Sally just ignored it.

Woo! Let’s go Ares fight!

Episode 8:

And so begins Percy’s absolute hate against Ares that even transcends a goddess erasing his memories.

Ares didn’t curse Percy though…

Yo… Poseidon surrenders for Percy

And Show Zeus is better than Book Zeus at least for now. He’s at least willing to entertain the idea of Kronos rising.

Oh Luke… I was right… this was worse than the book

“I didn’t think you’d give them to Grover” that is the most heartbreaking line

The mouthing off to Kronos is awesome. Love it “Are you kidding me” he says 😂

And sadly, but also thankfully, no getting rid of Gabe through Medusa’s head by Sally (though still got him lol). Seems like they made him not as abusive on screen as the books showed him to be.

Spoilers for TBB Season 2

Phee!!!

I'm glad we're getting to see more of her character.

Wrecker taking Omega out on scrap hunting missions is adorable. 🥰

Tech looking at what Omega brought and being like "this is useless". 😭

Hunter, Tech and Echo in their civilian clothing! Happy to see the outfits changing up a bit more frequently this season. At least they're getting chances to relax.

Hunter and Echo are so the parents. 😭

They way they are constantly looking at each other like "🙄 oh well, should probably tag along and make sure they don't get killed". 🤣 (Edit: added "don't" in because I missed it out. Oops. 😭)

"To what?"

I swear, the more I watch this, the more I realise how much like Echo I am. 😭

Wanted Gonky, got Mel.

And while we're on the topic, R.I.P, Mel. ☹️

Although the moment they left her outside I felt like something was going to happen to her. And I was right.

Ngl, I think this has been my least favourite episode so far. It wouldn't say it was bad, I just wasn't as invested as other eps. 😕

The Batch feel very much like side characters in their own story this episode and I don't love it.

But I am happy that we got more Phee!

And Omega getting excited over treasure hunting is adorable. 🥰

Them getting split up was... kinda pointless. 🙁

Oh no, they were split up! What's going to happen?!

Nothing. The other three just walk around the side with practically no issue whatsoever, so... yeah.

Although Hunter, mate. If you could stop falling off of things that would be great. 🤨😂

Hopping back to an earlier scene, Hunter running over to check on Wrecker after Phee pushed him out the way was sweet.

So that's what the giant metal thing was.

Was hoping it would have more of a role this season, ngl.

Looked cool but was kinda underused.

Legitimately thought the Maruader was a goner though. 😥

I thought this episode was gonna be a 2 parter with the amount of stuff happening in the last few minutes. I guess the ending felt a little sudden but the episodes are short, so that's bound to happen.

Hunter is so exasperated, omg. 🤣

I DID NOT SIGN UP TO SEE ECHO KNOCKED OUT THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Poor Wrecker took a bit of a beating as well. 😭

I know loads of people were calling the last episode pointless and filler, but I actually feel like this episode was less relevant.

Probably gonna need to sit on it a bit and pick it apart to see where it really starts to tie in to the main story.

Oh, and we got to see a little hint of Hunter's enhancement coming through! Liked that little touch. 🥰

Was really excited to see Echo again and he was there! But he was very much giving S1 Echo.

And by that, I mean he was there but he wasn't really doing anything. 😕

Echo and Hunter feel particularly grumpy atm, though. Something to do with the nugget delivery? Something to do with finding out what the others had been up to last episode? Tensions causing problems? 🤔

That's what I'm more interested in. The changing character dynamics in the Batch. We seem to have put that on the back burner atm.

Isn't always a bad thing (look at last ep for example) but I hope we go back to exploring the conflict soon.

Turns out I was wrong about the Tech and Omega stuck in a cave thing. Wonder when that is going to turn up. 🤔

Overall thoughts about this episode is that it was alright. I didn't dislike it, but it just didn't click with me the same way every other episode has.

Seeing more Phee was great, but the Batch felt like side characters in their own story, which I don't always love. Omega had a little bit of time to shine, though, which I appreciate.

Little bit annoyed by the lack of decent Echo content this episode. Was hoping with him being gone for 2 eps he'd have more time this episode and he didn't. He was just kinda there. But hopefully we'll get more of him next ep. We know that he's with Omega and Gungi at some point and I feel like it would make sense for that to come up soon.

We did get some Hunter content, though! Very much giving off tired parent vibes. But he's letting Omega do her thing and I love that. 🥰

But yeah, overall I thought it was fine. Not desperate to rewatch it like I was with the other eps but I'll definitely sit on it. Hopefully, if I mull on it and go back over the ep I'll get more into it.

Once again hoping for more Echo content soon. ☹️

3. What fandoms do you write for? According to my front page, the fandoms I write the most for are Haven (7) Ted Lasso (6) Fandom - Fandom (6) Teen Wolf (5) Our Flag Means Death & Willow (4)

I'm fine with Haven being my number one but I'd like to bump Teen Wolf off there. My Willow fic will overtake it soon but I still need another fandom to push it off completely!

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

A Wedding of Errors - Teen Wolf, Allison/Lydia, Rated T - Wedding Planner AU and my first (and only?) Big Bang fic! It had beautiful at and I still follow the artist though it looks like the post got deleted in a blog rebrand or something.

Not a Rebound - Supergirl, Winn/James, Rated E - Post season 2 episode 1 smut I wrote to make myself feel better after they nerfed Kara/James for no reason! (we know the reason 😑)

No Time Like the Present - Young Justice, Jamie/Bart, Rated G - Short little future fic of Bart having a panic attack and Jamie helping him out. First time I wrote something and was like wow that was like writing writing!

Uninvited - Elementary, Gen Sherlock & Watson - pod together project I had to ask for a co-writer to help pinch hit this for me because I was struggling. It was strange to co-write, especially with a stranger, but it was interesting and the podficcers seemed to have fun!

ShapeShift - Teen Wolf, Stiles/Danny, Rated T - AU based on a Bollywood movie I found on Netflix and became obsessed with called Pyaar Impossible. Also a pod together project!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Sometimes. I like that ao3 has the unread comments on your front page, so I like to keep them there so I can see them and smile at them when I'm scrolling through the suggested marked for later stuff. If someone has commented multiple times, I'll usually thank them on the most recent one rather than replying to all of them. Of course if someone asks a question I'll answer. Otherwise it depends on my mood.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I was gonna say I try not to leave fics on too an angsty note but then I remembered Garder le Silence my Harry Potter pod together that's an episode of Potterwatch during book 7. It's pretty moody all the way through.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably A Wedding of Errors. It's the only fic with an epilogue so you actually have a little time after the couple gets together. Hmm should I write more epilogues? 🤔

8. Do you get hate on fics? I got an angry comment on Wedding saying it was a bad f/f fic because I spend too much time on the side m/m/m love triangle. Honestly that was something I was worried about and if the person had just been disappointed, I would've understood but they were just mean so fuck em.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? a little! increasingly more so last month lol some light d/s, with a lot of silliness and communication

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? nah I don't love the idea of crossovers. Usually I'd rather have a full AU

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? i don't think so?

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! Wedding was translated into Russian in 2015, two years after I wrote it and the translator made a little banner for it!

😭 it is so crazy to think someone thought about my fic so much they put it in another language! I am in awe of them. Umi no Iruka you can ask anything of me. You can throw me into battle like a pokemon. I am in your debt.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Just Uninvited!

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku from My Hero Academia. I have never written a fic for them and I probably never will. It's a classic case of, if I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more. 🥺

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Hmm well I don't usually post anything unless I've finished it. I did start a series of fics for a glee rare pair but I am nOT going back to that. I have the last installment in my Winn gets fucked series like 90% done I literally just need them to fuck and I can post it. I have a couple Haven WIPs I probably won't go back to unless the hyperfixation comes back in a big way.

16. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue, calling back to things earlier in the fic, estimating the word count of a story, which I didn't think was a strength but lowkeyed said it was their weakness so i guess!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Description of places blegh, coming up with events for people to do between plot points, describing how people move and gesture? I can see things so clearly in my head it's so hard to describe! it's like "and then they do the face they did in episode 6 where they were like hmnmm you know??" impossible! I should've become an artist!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I would love to if I knew the language well enough but unfortunately I'm english only. I've thrown in a few lines sparingly but I think there's definitely some cool stuff that can happen if it's used right by someone who understands the language well.

19. First fandom you wrote for? I think Jimmy Neutron? I got into fandom young lol

20. Favorite fic you've written? Whatever I'm currently working on is my favorite! I love creating so much and I'm ecstatic imagining all the scenarios and tweaking them over and over and living in their heads and surprising myself when I come up with things I didn't plan! So by that measure my favorite is my unpublished Cyrano inspired romcom but if we're going published, I of course have to go with Multivocal, my heart ❤️ or perhaps A Familiar Sound, my soul! ✨

Hollywood is a game of smoke and mirrors lol 😆 So, I don't blame ppl if they play the game sometimes.

TVD Thoughts - Season 1

Ep. 15 ("A Few Good Men")

(These are always a rant im sorry. Does anyone even care lol)

1. The vampire from the tomb, Harper.. I know he was shook when he learned it was 2010 😭

2. Matt is literally soo nice ughh, his mom is yucky though..i feel so bad for him, 😟 him and Caroline are sooo cute! Also Caroline is so pretty, she has a really cute smile.

3. Alaric man.. I feel for him too. Isobel seems like a weirdo... Why did she really go to Damon? And ask him to turn her? Hmmmm... 🤔

4. That Trudie lady, who was Isobel's friend...what did she know? And how did she know that vampires are a thing..and that man who killed her seemed to be working for Isobel or something. When he stepped in front of a truck..when i tell you i was shook! 💀 like omg wtf! I did not expect that!

5. I have a question, at the end, that Harper guy goes to Pearl or what seems to be her house. But it seems to me she somehow compelled a human to let her stay there. Then, Pearl says to that lady: "May he come in?" And the lady let's him in. I thought you had to be of a clear mind to let a vampire in. I guess if you compell a human to let another vampire in, it works? Which just seems kinda idk... not fair lol.

6. Also, I can't wait for the moment when Caroline's mom realizes Damon is a vampire. She constantly praises him and thanks him for his work against the vamps, but like honey he's one of them! I know she's gonna be gagged lol 😭

7. Finally, Elena, ughh, my girl just cannot catch a break.. 😫Like, the people you thought were your parents die, and then you bio mom, is also apparently dead. And Damon killed her.. Like I really don't understand how they end up together... Then she finds out, no, her mom is alive, is most likely a vampire and wants nothing to do with you.. Damn..

I am thoroughly enjoying this show so far, the story is really interesting and I'm always on my toes so to say. And I noticed I'm getting really attached to some of these characters (Matt). I feel like they do a good job of making you feel empathy the characters.

not sure if you remember me but I'm the anon who sent that ask wondering if you seriously don't believe there's gonna be a romantic rina plot in season 3 (to which you pretty confidently said that no, you don't). I was just curious to know if anything has changed since seeing the trailer

Hi anon! Nice to hear from you again. 😊 I believe this is the ask you're talking about? To answer your question, no, my thoughts have not changed since the trailer released. Of course, this is going to be my biased opinion as a Portwell😅, but the Ricky and Gina moment in the trailer seems like a misdirect, mostly because they zoomed in on EJ's reaction. They're making it seem like they're gonna pull another Ricky/Nini/EJ love triangle (S1), except this time with Ricky/Gina/EJ (S3), but I think it's a misdirection to throw us off from whatever they really have planned for Ricky in S3. You notice how he's not super involved in the trailer the way EJ and Gina are? I think Tim has some major plans for Ricky in S3 that may go beyond his love life. I don't know what it is, but it must be spoilery enough that they couldn't include it in the trailer.🤔 If the Rina moment in the trailer was just the 2 of them, like the 1.05 or 2.05 scenes, then I'd be more inclined to believe that's clear setup for a potential romantic storyline in S3. But EJ's reaction to that moment is shown, just like Ricky's reaction to EJ/Nini in the cafeteria during the S1 trailer. Also, there's a strong possibility Ricky and Gina will play the leads/love interests in S3, just like Ricky and Nini in S1. I don't see the point in having EJ's worst fears come true all over again and have history repeat itself by having Ricky interfere in his relationship again.🤨 They deff make the love triangle more obvious in S1 trailer and promo b/c it was central to Ricky and Nini's plot. Because Ricky seems like a bit of a slacker/lost, or at least feels like he's outta place at camp in the S3 trailer, I doubt being a part of another love triangle is central to his story. Regardless, I was just happy to see Ricky and Gina actually talking to each other again LOL. I've missed their S1 goofy, fun dynamic!🥰

i have been curious about your characters since I heard first about them! unfortunately, am a little shy talking online, but since now seems like the least bother-y time i'll take now not really 100% sure what to ask first, so I'll start with this: What different stories do you have going on right now? Or do you just have one large narrative? (by stories I mean anything from big projects to a little handful of guys who happen to be in the same place doing similar things) Either way, I'm interested in hearing any synopses, little details, or longform rants! I like hearing about others' ocs

HI IT'S TOTALLY OK anyone can ask about my ocs anytime it's never a bother !!

But to answer your question! I have THREE stories I am currently working on! My motivation to work on them fluxuates on whatever im fixating on LOL but I realize I havent talked about them too much before so I might as well explain a little bit

Story #1: OUTCAST CHAOS !! It is my passion project and the most developed story (it turned 2 years old in January!) I'd like to make it a TV show or webseries some day! It is about a bunch of people finding themselves in a really weird game show, and discovering more about the weird little town they live in 🤔 this is indeed the story with Mic in it, LOL!! I'm literally in the process of planning entire seasons and episodes, hopefully I will get around to designing secondary characters soon HDKDHKDBD

Story #2: CORRUPTION (this is a placeholder title because I can't think of a better one, but I will someday istg) this is the story I've talked about the least on here unfortunately I just haven't gotten around to it, but you can see I tag the main characters in my oc tag a lot LMAO!! It's about a really nosy teen and the worlds saddest man having to deal with an evil sentient computer. It's a little dark but I've been really confident with story beats lately, id also like to do something with it! But I haven't been fixating on it like I was last year LOL

Story #3: MICROBIAL!! My most recent story and what my blog is currently themed to LOL its conception is so silly (it was an AU of an AU with my outcast chaos ocs that got turned into something both original and completely separate)!! It is both about the microbe apocalypse and about the very hectic relationship between two bisexual and mentally ill young adults. It's my current fixation (see how long that lasts) and I've been working hard on it since last October! I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet but I know the internet is not immune to the microbez. Also Eve and garrett are from this story for anyone who's been paying attention to my incessant poll reblogs and my blog takeover on April fool's day

I have more OCs than just the ones in these stories, but they're basically all in metaphorical storage and I don't draw them much anymore. I'm really proud of my current works and I hope to tell people more about them soon! I unfortunately have a lot of anxiety, so I tend to just tell people major story stuff in private, but I'm trying to get out of my shell more! I have WAY too much info about like, all my OCs, I can answer basically anything you'd wanna know about any of the characters LOL

I am actually sending you this because I have some scenes in stranger things that really make me doubt that byler is endgame and I am going to tell you those scenes I am really interested in hearing what you think about them

So the first scene is the end of the battle of starcourt when mike is running to el and then he’s hugging her and she is asking him if he’s ok … I hope you get wich scene I mean haha I am really bad at explaining 😂

Next scene is the end of season 3 when el is kissing mike and telling him she loves him . I know everyone is always saying mike was sooo shocked and clearly didn’t like the kiss but if you look close to the end of this scene you can actually see mike looks happy ( at least that’s how I remember)

Next scene is mikes and wills crazy together scene.Yep i know that’s a byler moment actually but you can see in that scene even tho will has problems and he’s being honest and kinda romantic with mike , Mike is still thinking about el you know when will said “ please don’t tell the others they wouldn’t unterstand “ and mike says “ eleven would “ ( could this also hint will and El’s connection ?🤔)

Next scene is the reunion in season 2 and the fight mike has with hopper right after . As soon as Mike recognizes el he is almost crying and you can really see that they are both really happy to see each other again ( I know that that’s also how you would react if a friend that was missing for almost a year but still kinda makes me doubt ) than after that scene Mike and hopper get into … wills room I think , and mike is yelling at hopper for hiding el almost a year. So some byler shippers think he yelled at him because of self hate but to be honest I don’t think so …

Next scene is the scene where Karen is telling Mike to throw away some of his old stuff . He is grabbing his one Star Wars thing and his dinosaur that had obviously reminded him of El and that’s why he didn’t throw it away

Next and last scene that makes me doubt ( I have way more but it would be way to long if I added them 😅) the goodbye hug . Mike and el have hugged twice ( I think ) and their hug seems like they are together again and it also seems to be romantic

That’s it I am really sorry my question has turned out being so long and just to clarify I love byler and I love your blogs I just don’t think byler is endgame ( btw sorry for every grammatical mistake I made I am actually from Germany 😅😂 ( and sorry I didn’t add any punctuation marks I was in a hurry ))

I love answering questions like this, thanks for the ask! Also your English is so good, I love learning where people are from! And thank you for the sweet comment about my blog 💜 I hope it's okay I numbered the scenes you mentioned just to keep track when I was writing this :) Also sorry this is gonna be a long post LOL

1. The first scene you mentioned is s3 ep.8 right before Billy dies. The conversation is:

This is right after Billy sacrifices himself to save El & everyone else. Previously, Billy knocked out Mike, Max & El and took El away, seperating the 3 of them. Mike knows Eleven is a target for the mindflayer because of the conversation when El looks into Billy's memories & then talks to him in her mind when the mind flayer says he is after her. It's a very sweet scene, and it makes total sense. Mike is concerned for El's safety, she disappears after they all get knocked out, he wakes up to her missing & knows something is wrong, so seeing her again, alive, is a relief. It is really important to remember that Mike & El do have a special bond, although it isn't romantic, it does not mean that they don't care about each other because they do. They're friends. He was the first person to treat her like a human being, and he took her in to save her life. Mike would do anything for his friends, he jumped off a cliff ready to DIE for Dustin's teeth not knowing El would save him. He's a very compassionate person at heart. This little clip doesn't diminish byler in any way, just shows Mike & El's friendship, and their concern for each others safety, because before they see each other here, they don't know if the other is okay, or even alive.

2. The "I love you too" scene.I know you mentioned Mike looking happy at the end of the scene, but I don't see that. He seems confused at first, and then shocked. Here's the full clip of the kiss and his reaction (sorry there is no sound):

I talked about this scene in-depth in my byler proof master slides, here's the link to this scene's specific pages :) But just to quickly summarize; He doesn't smile or anything when Eleven says she loves him. He stands in front of an open closet, but she doesn't. They're in Will's room, it's will's closet, and Will's teddy bear she is holding - in between them during the kiss. His eyes are open, he doesn't touch her or reciprocate the kiss, but she does close her eyes and touch his face.

Another important thing to remember is this scene is after the Mike & Will "not possible" scene...He shares a cute moment with Will that indicates care & loyalty and then El says she loves him and he is unresponsive. It's very telling.

3. The "crazy together" scene. When Mike mentions El in this scene, it's partially because he misses her as a friend and wants to do if she is okay, because again he is portrtayed ads kind of this "angel friend" kind of person when crisis strikes. But also because at this point in his life, he is not aware he is gay. This moment is clearly romantic & intimate, they're wearing the ghostbuster costumes, & the subtext of crazy = love, is all hugely significant, and Mike mentioning El doesn't undermine this. Mike is aware he cares for Will, but he is determined to like El. Part of him mentioning her is out of concern for her, but also to remind himself he is supposed to like her. He's young in this scene, and it's early in the season so a lot of these thoughts are just instinct, before he even understands why he is doing it himself.. He hasn't processed his sexuality at this point in his life yet. Bringing up El here partially shows the beginning of Mike's suffering from serious heteronormativity in s3. It may also be a little nod to El & Will's connection because Mike implies that El would understand Will. I don't see Mike bringing up El here as a genuine romantic thing at all.

4. Mike & El reunite in s2, & Mike and Hopper's fight. Of course Mike is happy & relieved to see her, he hasn't seen her in a year and they are friends! Also just moments before she returns, Mike tells Max she's dead.

As far as Mike's fight with Hopper, I think he is mostly talking to himself, taking his anger out on Hopper. Because of the subtext of the words, stupid, lying and bullshit. I also think he is yelling at Hopper for hiding her, because he believes El was around him during that year, he would be 'normal' and like her like he is 'supposed' to.

We also need to compare how Mike reacts to El and Will's respective disappearances. He gives up on El, and he doesn't give up on Will.

4. When Mike doesn't want to throw out his dinosaur. It's partially because it reminds of El, and again they are friends and he cares for her, and at this point in time he doesn't know where she is or if she is okay. When he holds the millennium falcon in this scene, it's yet another reference Mike & El are non-romantic, because it's a Star Wars reference.

There's also a Star Wars reference in s1 during the D&D game (that Mike wrote) where Mike plans out that he wants King Tristan to give him a medal, not Princess Leia to symbolize how he wants a king instead of a Princess. Cheesy I know but still valid. He wants Will to award him the medal and to be his hero.

5. The goodbye hugs at the end of s3 😭 Again, they're friends and it's hard to say goodbye to your friends, especially when you have such a strong connection to them, like them saving your life several times. All the hugs are during Hopper's letter, which is very byler centric. I would suggest checking out this section in my byler proof slides since this post is already so long LOL.

And Mike & El only hug once here, but Mike & Will are shown hugging twice.

And El is the one initiating the movement of his forehead onto hers during the hug. El also initiates all of Mileven's physicality. In the opening s3 kiss, she puts his hands on her, and he takes them off of her & breaks away to start singing, and once they resume kissing he puts his hands back in his lap, and El reaches for his face again. If Mike is straight & likes her so much, why doesn't he ever want to touch her in a romantic way? Because he isn't straight & he's not romantically in love with her. I don't see this as a romantic hug because Mike doesn't reciprocate the romantic touch or anything with her as usual, and there are plenty of hugs like this in this scene, but people do not say the other characters hugs are romantic, because it's between friends :)

I also don't think we can assume just because they hugged they are back together. We never saw them get back together on screen, so as far as we know, they are still broken up. But again, they are deeply bonded and care for each other, so that's what the hug expresses. And then we also have Eleven's whole issue of her idea of romantic love coming from purely soap operas she watches, so her idea of romantic love is warped. She has very little real world experience at this point, and she may not realize they aren't back together since in soaps the couple always ends up together, even after they break up.

A secret for you: I don't understand the hype around Bridgerton. It's basically Downton Abbey meets Gossip Girl without the charming appeal of either

oooh! ok so ive seen gossip girl (the original, not the revival), but i havent seen downton abbey. and i have seen bridgerton! though ive not read any of the books. i don't think i'd say bridgerton was charmless, and im not sure i liked it (much?) less than gossip girl (although it’s hard to compare one short season to however long gossip girl eventually went on for), but i am sure i liked it more than the thing i havent seen, ha.

i guess you weren’t actually asking haha but this sparked THOUGHTS so im gonna arbitrarily claim there are ~3 prongs that account for the hype (and/or noise?):

1. fake dating

it's a top tier trope!!! and this was the main storyline!!! i am already charmed, ha.

i must admit i didn't really care that much about what was going on with any of the other von trapp children and barely remember the wider cast of characters, which is a point against the charm for sure.

plus omg! amongst all these boring young ppl i really feel we were robbed of a main chick's widowed mother & main dude's cool godmother(?) romance. (but i do often feel this way abt media focused on young ppl, so it's not special in that regard.)

2. a british(ish) period piece ft black british actors WHO AREN’T PLAYING JAZZ MUSICIANS

!!!!!!!!!!!!! this country's biggest export really might be period shows, which are overwhelmingly white, & that deffffinitely contributes to the ♻️cycle of (particularly screen) actors of colour having difficulty finding work & leaving. in fact snl parodied this trend (i say parodied, I'm now half convinced ice cube is secretly english), in the ep that regé-jean page hosted last yr!

I find it very difficult to muster much enthusiasm for this endless parade of these period shows, and im aware im poss being unfair to downton abbey but i just...dont care abt it? beyond the good fight’s meta parody anyhow.

personally i think bridgerton mightve worked better with ~actual race blind casting, cos instead you end up with this weird context where race does but also doesnt seem to exist in the show’s world, but i was left kinda willing to see how that developed in future seasons, and theyve announced a queen charlotte prequel spinoff, which sounds like it could be genuinely interesting?

anyway it defffffffff felt like a breath of fresh air in this regard so again, I'm immediately charmed!

3. marketing/furore

the show first appeared in that weird taint of a period btwn xmas & new year, which’d generally be a great time to air cos a lot of ppl are pissing abt barely interacting with reality AND pretty much everything else is on hiatus. throw in a global pandemic & you can deffo see how this generated more hype/noise than it probably wouldve otherwise! Plus I'm sure all the brouhaha abt the ‘steaminess’ contributed!

there’s also ofc criticism of the show (’historical’ ‘accuracy’, too much steaminess, depictions of lack of/consent, casting, adaptational success etc etc), and while that stuff doesnt directly contribute to hype... it does contribute to noise, and i think those can kiiinda end up being one and the same...? 🤔

My greatest piece of criticism is probs that it's RIDONK to feature wisteria (a FAMOUSLY short flowering plant) for the whole season??? Am I to believe the span of the first season was like 3 weeks???? 🤯 Wisteria should pretty much only feature onscreen TO start withering to provide a sense of 'time' 🤺🗻❕ (or to not wither to demonstrate a show is set in a fantasy world where time moves differently!!!!!)

But also: i feel like the show had the makings of a potentially interesting & nuanced conversation about consent -- a period piece obvi easily allows you to show how definitions & attitudes change, the fake dating plot is kicked off by honour-defending so it's already a main topic, & then main dude kinda exploits main chick’s complete lack of sex education cos of his (!totally valid) non-interest in having kids. and the conclusion to her spermjacking is... oh suddenly we've solved all our problems in the last 45 seconds cos actually everyone DOES want to have kids which ARE a magic balm for everything actually....? um. 🤯

i thought the show’d kinda shot itself in the foot cos main duke’s left 🍿, but it sounds like each season focuses on a different one of the siblings so maybe he’ll be doing deeply important business somewhere offscreen the whole time lol. the fact that i didnt care that much abt the other characters doesnt super bode well for my investment in further seasons, and i wouldnt be that surprised if this show goes the way of the avatar sequels, but im probs up for checking out s2 if it sounds vaguely interesting......? (and that prequel!)

but gossip girl is such an interesting point of comparison... cos i am ALMOST tempted to rewatch it, primarily to see how well it hangs together w/ the reveal of who gg is. but.... idk i think i’d probs get annoyed fast? I feel like it's taking up a fairly rosy spot in my memories but if I interrogate a little... It DID get way overly convoluted & introduce too many rando characters & there were a few too many rounds of the partner shuffle & it's another show that kinda backed itself into a corner with an ill thought out inclusion of a(t least one) rape plot, I assume from the source material 😕

But also and probs most crucially... It's centred on young ppl like SO much media and given I watched it first when I was a young ppl it's def got a nostalgia vibe but idk, as a no longer young person I do find it harder to get invested in stuff about babies? So I wonder if perhaps bridgerton isn't much less charming than gossip girl, rather you're just old now 😂😘😘😘😘😘

So I binge-watched Shadow and Bones a few days ago with my best friend (to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our friendship haha, we're so old), so I'm gonna share my thoughts with you just because 🤭

Here:

There was so much to remember! The names, the countries, the geisha's different powers, how the fold works... I didn't read any book from this universe yet so I had to stay focus to not miss anything haha, it made me want to read the books though because it all seems very interesting and carefully developed!

My boy Jesper is a soft precious bean and he needs to be protected at all costs 💖

The Darkling is scary charismatic ajajakajja and he is very beautiful, I understand how you all were feeling

Mal is a cutie, somehow I was sure he was going to die haha, I'm glad he's okay 🥰

Inej and Kaz are very interesting and mysterious, I wish we could have seen more of their backgrounds!

Actually, I hope we learn more about the 3 crows in season 2 because I love their gang 😆 (there's originally 6 crows right? But from what I understood Alina and Mal aren't in their books, so who are the other members 🤔 I think Nina was supposed to be one of them, so is Matthias part of it too?? I have no idea for the last one haha I liked Arken but he was a traitor 😭😭 I'm sad)

Nina and Matthias gave me mixed feelings 🤔 I kinda liked Nina but we didn't see much of her and I didn't understand if she was helping the Darkling or not in the end. Matthias was quite difficult to understand, I don't get the way he thinks, he seems like he changes his mind quite often about Nina 🤔

I actually didn't hate the Darkling as much as I expected to? Everyone here seem to find him very despicable but, as much as I condemn his methods, his motivations are kind of understandable? And it seems like the dark magic he used in the past to protect the Grisha has messed up with his head 😢 but maybe he can be healed?

Probably because I didn't read the books but I was so confused by the geopolitics of this world 😵 I guess I'm gonna have to rewatch and take notes before season 2 haha

It was a great show!! I loved loved the aesthetic and can't wait to see everyone again for next season 🤩

But I would 100% recommend the books - only six of crows though (there are two books). I didn't much like the shadow and bone trilogy, but if you liked the characters, give it shot ;)
