Meet: @morbid2marathon Two years ago I was at the lowest point in my life, I was closing in on 500 pounds and had no direction in life. Then I met the love of my life, my now wife, gave me a reason to get my life in order. While some may not approve, I had bariatric surgery to help me with my struggles, and after about 100 pounds list I felt more capable and more confident in my own skin. I started working out a lot, and at the advice of friend and cardiologist, I began doing the local 5k at the lake. Over several months it got easier and easier. I began doing more miles, and before I knew it I signed up for the runDisney Wine & Dine Half last November. And then just last week I did the full weekend Star Wars Challenge, and PR’d my Half Marathon by 20 minutes! Now my next goal is to do a full marathon, so I’ll be doing the Dopey Challenge at runDisney in January. Starting tip: If anyone out there doubts themselves, don’t. Meet: @iamsteffkent 🇬🇧 I have always been big. 1st at 1 yrs old, 12st at 12 & 31st at 30 yrs old (14 Pounds per stone) - regardless of running marathons at 25st, going to the gym 5 x a week & living on 800-1000 calories since the age of 16, my weight continually increased. I was the 10yr old girl on Slimming World in primary school 😔 I spent years fighting my GP for help, tests, hormone checks etc. Fast forward a few years, a nasty case of sepsis and eventually I managed to get my voice heard. I lost 79lbs from July - Dec 2018 and had gastric bypass surgery on Dec 4th 2018. I can now eat more calories than I ever have and am actually loosing weight for the first time in my entire life. It’s nice to not feel utter panic about the scales with every single mouthful!! Starting tip: I knew my weight was more a DNA / endocrine issue as opposed to what I ate...Fight! I realized today that I am now down 90 lbs! . I haven't lost a single pound in a month. I weighed myself this morning and I lost two pounds! Wohoooo I have 25 lbs to my goal weight, and then I'm good to go! . Anyway, last year at this time, I was squeezing myself into size 20-22 clothes.... today, this is a size 8 dress. I put it on and I had one of those - "holy crap, I am not fat anymore," moments! . I have to say, I am freakin proud of myself! Previously when I have "dieted," and I would plateau, I would just give up and go back to my old eating habits, but NOT THIS TIME!!! . I was consistent with my meals and no snacking! As someone who eats out of boredom or trying to avoid feeling stuff, I have conquered my Mt. Everest!
