When Tony was captured at a weapons demo in Afghanistan all he thought about was getting back to his lover Peter. He was what got Tony through the torture at the hands of the Ten Rings and what inspired him to come up with the idea for an armored suit to escape in.
So it was a great shock for Tony to wake up one morning not to the harsh commands of his captors but to his loves voice calling his name and promising to heal him now he's safe. His love who was covered in the blood and gore of what was most likely the entirety of the Ten Rings who had occupied the cave, if the shear amount covering him was any indication. And the silence that was seeping into the cave.
But what shook Tony wasn't Peter's presence, or even that he was here with Tony, it was the curved horns atop his head alongside a pair of wings at his back.
And all Tony could think was 'huh my lover's a demon'.

CHAPTER 1: THE UNEXPECTED CALL
Tony Stark x daughter!reader
Pronouns: She/Her
Age: 14
Warning: OC character death
Summary: An unexpected call shakes Tony's world as he knows it, as a young woman claims to be his daughter. How would both react to meeting each other for the first time?
A/N: Hey there, this is my first time writing a fanfic. I am not a native english speaker but i have tried my best. Anyhow if you find any warning missing or any other problem, please let me know. Comment if possible, feedback may help me better my writing.
Word Count: 1117
The day was like any other. Tony Stark, genius billionaire and playboy, was immersed in the heart of his technological kingdom. Holographic screens displayed intricate blueprints, while the rhythmic hum of machinery provided a background symphony to the genius at work. Tony's focus was unparalleled, but little did he know that the rhythm of his life was about to change.
Amidst the controlled chaos of his lab, a discreet ping echoed through the air, signalling an incoming call on his secured line. Always curious, Tony swiped the holographic screen to accept the call. A flicker, and the holographic display revealed the face of a young woman. Her features were a curious blend of determination and vulnerability, and her gaze carried a weight that seemed incongruent with her years.
"Tony Stark?" The girl's voice was steady, but beneath the surface, there was an undeniable undercurrent of uncertainty.
Tony, ever the master of nonchalance, leaned against his worktable and quirked an eyebrow. "Who's asking?"
The young woman took a deep breath, steadying herself before continuing. "I'm Y/N Y/L/N. You... you might not know me, but I believe you're my father."
Tony's eyes widened in genuine surprise, a rarity for a man accustomed to being several steps ahead. He straightened up, studying the unfamiliar face on the holographic screen. "My what now?"
Y/N sighed, the weight of her words palpable even through the digital interface. "My mother passed away recently. I found some things that led me to you. Which leads me to believe I'm your daughter."
Tony's initial surprise transformed into a mix of skepticism and calculation. He tilted his head, his eyes narrowing as he considered the revelation. "Well, I've had my fair share of fans and impostors. What makes you think I should believe you?"
Y/N met Tony's gaze without flinching. "I don't want anything from you, Mr. Stark. My mom's gone, and I don't have anyone else. I just thought you should know. I don't need your money or your pity."
Tony leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. "You've got guts, kid. I'll give you that. Fine, let's run some more tests. If they check out, we'll talk."
And so began the unexpected chapter in Tony Stark's life. The subsequent days were a whirlwind of medical examinations, DNA tests, and scrutinizing glances exchanged between father and potential daughter. Tony, ever the skeptic, was cautious but couldn't deny the similarities he saw between them.
As the tests came back positive, confirming the truth of Y/N's claim, Tony found himself grappling with a reality he hadn't anticipated. He had a daughter – a child he never knew existed. The revelation stirred a mix of emotions in the usually composed Stark. Uncertainty, guilt, and a hint of paternal protectiveness began to weave their way into the fabric of his daily existence.
Tony decided to meet Y/N in person. The arrangement was made for her to visit The stark mansion in malibu. As he waited in his lavish home, Tony couldn't help but feel a twinge of nervousness, a sensation foreign to the man.
Arrival of a Tony’s Royce can be heard, signalling Y/N's arrival. The doors opened, and there she stood, a mix of confidence and vulnerability. Short, stylish hair framed her face, and her attire exuded a refined elegance that Tony found oddly familiar.
"Mr. Stark," she introduced herself, extending a hand.
"Ms. Y/L/N," he replied, taking her hand. The handshake was a subtle dance of acknowledgment and understanding, the unspoken recognition of a connection that transcended genetics.
They sat in the expansive living room, surrounded by the panoramic views of The ocean. The peaceful waves served as a backdrop to a conversation that would shape the course of their lives.
"I never knew," Tony admitted, his eyes scanning the cityscape as if searching for answers. "Your mother... she never told me."
Y/N nodded; her gaze fixed on Tony. "I didn't know either until she passed away. Found some unsent letters, some mementos. Pieced it together."
The silence hung between them, pregnant with unspoken words and missed opportunities. Tony, always the master of deflecting emotions with humor, attempted a grin. "Well, welcome to the Stark legacy, kid. It's a bit of a rollercoaster, but the view is fantastic."
Y/N chuckled, a genuine smile breaking through the tension. "So I've heard."
As the days turned into weeks, Tony and Y/N navigated the awkward dance of forming a connection that should have existed for years. Tony, the absent father, struggled to reconcile his larger-than-life persona with the intimate role of a parent. Y/N, the brilliant prodigy, adjusted to the newfound reality of a father who was as flawed as he was iconic.
Stark Mansion became a backdrop for their evolving relationship. Tony, never one to shy away from grand gestures, spared no expense in introducing Y/N to the finer things in life. Dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants, exclusive access to cutting-edge technology, and glimpses into the glamorous world of the Stark legacy became routine.
However, amidst the opulence, there were moments of vulnerability and sincerity. Late-night conversations in the dimly lit living room, where Tony shared stories of his past and Y/N spoke of her mother's sacrifices. These were the moments that forged the foundation of their father-daughter bond.
The world soon learned of Y/N Y/L/N's existence, and the media frenzy that followed was something neither of them was prepared for. Paparazzi hounded their every step, and tabloids dissected their relationship with speculative fervour. Tony, accustomed to public scrutiny, shielded Y/N from the worst of it, becoming an unexpected pillar of support in her life.
As the months passed, Y/N's presence began to weave seamlessly into the fabric of Tony's life. She proved not only to be his daughter but also an asset to Stark Industries. Her prodigious intellect and business acumen were undeniable, and Tony, recognizing her potential, welcomed her into the world of Stark Enterprises. The skeptical billionaire discovered a newfound pride in his daughter's abilities, a pride that transcended his own ego.
One evening, as they stood on the balcony of Stark Mansion, the moon light glittering below them, Tony turned to Y/N with a rare sincerity in his eyes. "You're not just a Stark, Y/N/N. You're my legacy. And I have a feeling you're going to make it even more remarkable than I ever could."
Y/N met his gaze, a mixture of gratitude and determination in her eyes. "I don't plan on disappointing, Dad."
Their journey was not without its challenges. Y/N's hesitance to fully embrace the Stark name, Tony's struggle with the responsibilities of fatherhood – these were hurdles they faced together. But within the complexities of their relationship, a genuine connection blossomed.

You know that thing about “invite billionaires to your wedding; their assistants will RSVP no but still send a nice present”? I feel like that if that happened with Tony Stark, there’s at least a 15% chance he’ll actually go to the wedding.

Tony has always only trusted himself.
Sure, people are great sometimes, and he tries to trust them. he really does. but when he’s really in danger, he always calls out to his own creations for help. He only trusts the things he’s built.
Because Tony Stark has been stabbed in the back enough times to never let anything he didn’t make himself have his back
But when he starts noticing odd gaps in his memory, and starts noticing patterns that don’t match up, he starts wondering if he can even trust himself.

Steve Rogers Trauma: A TED TALK
Why is it that any kind of commentary/analysis on Steve Roger's trauma has to be met with comparisons to Bucky or Tony's trauma? Or most of the fanfics I read completely gloss over Steve's trauma?
Some of y'all legit do not care or are blind to Steve Roger's trauma throughout the Captain America & Avengers films and it shows. And this isn't hate to any fanfic writers but rather an observation of most stucky and stony fanfics which seem to minimize Steve's character & trauma in favour of highlighting their fave's. And of course it's fine that people want to write about Bucky or Tony or even Nat's trauma, but MOST TIMES* I've read these fics and they all have an intentional disregard for Steve's traumas.
And this speaks to the wider discourse around Tony, Bucky & Steve- the three characters most written about in mcu fanfics.
Because why is it that anytime I bring up Steve's PTSD or his illnesses or the hell he would've gone through pre-serum, people always HAVE to add in their 2cents about, "well yeah & Bucky went through worse." Like.???? No, I'm not talking about him.
I absolutely love Bucky and he's one of my favourite characters in both the comics and the MCU but, respectfully, this ain't about him.
I'm talking about Steve and his life. The crap he would've had to deal with both in public and at home. Especially the horrors both he and Sarah would've gone through because of Joseph Rogers who was a terrible person and an alcoholic who beat up on his wife and sickly kid.
And even post-serum when he's completely healthy and living in the future now, I'm still seeing popular narratives about "Yeah he's alive now & hasn't gone through half of what Bucky's endured over the past 70yrs." OR "He's had it easy compared to Bucky who was being tortured by HYDRA."
Um, no one's saying Bucky's treatment under HYDRA was a good thing??? But we're talking about Steve here, not Bucky?
And how he was literally frozen in a state of purgatory & how traumatic it would feel to be ripped out of it and then basically thrown to the new world on your ass without any kind of therapy or help. Most people make it seem like Steve was in a Sleeping Beauty kind of sleep and then woke up completely fine. And I will admit the MCU has been the main culprit of that narrative because they deleted so many scenes that humanized Steve Rogers, that now the gen pop thinks:
he's perfectly fine
has zero trauma
should complain about nothing
hasn't had it hard like Bucky or Tony
is a lesser hero because of all of the above
I recently had a convo with a friend & we were talking abt the scene in Avengers 1 when they were all at each other's throats. And they said that Tony was right about Steve being a laboratory experiment & everything special about him came out of a bottle. And I'm like... yeah nah, that's the lazy ass writing that Whedon perpetuated that now makes Steve one of the most misunderstood heroes & people in the MCU. Because he was special before the serum because of his consideration of others. He was special because not only did he hate bullies, but he also went out of his way to protect those that couldn't protect themselves KNOWING what that confrontation might cost him as a chronically sick person. Tony needed a whole ass arc about literally witnessing & living first hand what his weapons were doing to innocents like Yinsen & his people, to change his ways. Steve didn't have, nor did he need any of that to make him special. (AND BEFORE THE TONY STANS COME FOR ME, I LOVE TONY, HE'S LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVES IN THE MARVEL COMICS & MCU) But this hatred for Steve is ridiculous.
And once again, it's the MCUs fault because they made Tony the ultimate hero of the Avengers at the expense of Steve Rogers' character. Him being able to prove he was "worthy" all along by lifting Thor's hammer was a cheap payoff in the end, much like the entirety of Endgame was. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

IM2 thoughts
Hi! Today we're thinking about Tony's obvious, death wish ass behavior in Iron Man 2 (though to be fair to him, it's not like he wants to die, he just thinks he's gonna and acts accordingly) -- and why on earth Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy aren't more alarmed
Like, don't get me wrong, they're concerned! But they also don't freak the fuck out at Tony's myriad red flags? They see him go from IM1's grounded certainty to a reckless disregard for his own life, fatalistically courting chaos and pushing everyone who cares about him away. Literally 0 to 100 so fast. They worry, but they also roll with it.
These are Tony's people! Why is their reaction mostly just damage control? And that got me thinking... maybe it's because this behavior is familiar.
We know Tony's changed. But the world around him doesn't know like we know. Even his family sees him basically preparing for his own death and just assumes he's reverted back to the way he always was
That's why their response is so subdued. None of IM2's depression, abyss, suicidality, despair strike them as abnormal Tony behaviors.

Soundtrack and timeline to my fic And It All Leads Back To You, with explanations, 1-10. Check out my other posts for more info!
You Are My Sunshine (1940)- You discover this song again in the mid 40s when steve and bucky die. This song reminds you of them because for a long time they were your only family. You cry to it many nights. It's given a new meaning when you discover that howard, jarvis, and peggy are your family as well
When you wish upon a star (1940)- two meanings. A) you are grieving for steve and bucky. You wish them to be back so long, or that it'd stop hurting. B) you're on earth and have been for almost 150 years. You love Loki. You wish to see your best friend again
Dream a little dream of me (ella fitzgerald) (1950)- you've been dating howard for a while now, and you've accepted that you can love someone new and still hold your love for Loki. Howard reminds you of everything good in the world and shows you a life you never thought you could have
Fly me to the moon (1954)- a romantic song howard plays for you to express his love, and you love it, but you can't help but take the lyrics literally and dream about taking howard above the stars and to asgard. This became your wedding song with howard
Great balls of fire (1957)- one of the sillier songs you know but a testament to time. Always gets you dancing and having a good time
Johnny b goode (1958)- if you go out somewhere upbeat dancing, this song always plays somehow. howard has his ways, and knows you like this song
Put your head on my shoulder (1959)- stands as one of your favorite old love songs. Who knows how many times this plays on a vinyl in your and howards home?
At last (1961)- a beautiful song that reminds you that after all that time of searching you've finally found the love you were looking for
Sway (dean martin) (1961)- howard loves to play this song and dance to it with you, either early morning or late at night- you never could agree on what time it was when you pulled at-home all-nighter dates together
The lion sleeps tonight (1961)- not particularly a love song like the rest but it still is one of "your songs"

CHAPTER 2: BONDS UNVEILED
Tony Stark x daughter!reader
Pronouns: She/Her
Age: 14
Warning: OC character death
Summary: As Tony introduces Y/N to his longtime confidante, Pepper Potts, the trio grapples with the unexpected revelation, their evolving connections weave an unconventional family dynamic, bringing laughter, understanding, and a sense of unity.
Word count: 1506
The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the Malibu Stark Mansion. Waves lapped gently against the shore, and the rhythmic sound of the ocean provided a serene backdrop to the opulent surroundings. Inside the mansion, Tony paced nervously in the expansive living room.
He had always been a man of confidence, unshaken by most circumstances. However, the prospect of introducing his 14-year-old daughter, Y/N Y/L/N, to Pepper Potts, his longtime associate and confidante, made even the billionaire feel a bit uneasy.
Y/N waited in a separate room. Her eyes betrayed a mix of curiosity and nervous anticipation. She had only recently discovered her connection to Tony and was still adjusting to the idea of being a Stark.
Tony took a deep breath, attempting to muster the charm that had served him well in countless situations. With a final adjustment of his perfectly tailored suit, he made his way to the room where Y/N was waiting.
"Y/N," Tony began, entering the room with a grin that concealed his underlying nervousness, "this is a big day for us. Ready to meet someone special?"
Y/N nodded, a mixture of excitement and apprehension in her eyes. "I'm ready, Dad."
As they walked down the elegant hallway, Tony couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility. Pepper Potts was not just an associate; she was a crucial part of his life, someone who had weathered the storm of Tony Stark's heart. How she would react to the revelation of a teenage daughter was uncertain.
They reached the door to the home office, where Pepper was engrossed in reviewing some documents. The room was bathed in the warm glow of sunset, and the sight of the ocean outside the expansive windows added to the tranquillity of the moment.
Clearing his throat, Tony announced their arrival, "Pepper, we have a guest. Someone I'd like you to meet."
Pepper looked up, her eyes meeting Tony's with a quizzical expression. "Another surprise, Tony?" she teased, setting aside her work.
Tony grinned, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "This one's a biggie. Pepper, meet Y/N Y/L/N."
As the door swung open, revealing Tony and a slightly nervous Y/N, Pepper's eyes widened in surprise. The air seemed to still for a moment as the three of them faced each other in the opulent living room.
"Y/N, this is Pepper Potts. Pepper here runs the show. Keeps me in check, makes sure I don't blow up the house.” Tony introduced, attempting to diffuse the tension with his trademark humor.
Pepper smiled warmly and stood up. "Hello, Y/N. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Y/N, her nerves apparent, managed a polite smile. "Hi, Pepper. Nice to meet you too."
Tony, sensing the need to break the ice, gestured toward the stunning view outside. "So, how about we all take a seat? There's something we need to talk about."
The trio settled into the plush furniture, the atmosphere still tinged with a mix of uncertainty and curiosity. Tony, ever the showman, decided to cut straight to the chase.
"Pepper, there's something I haven't shared with you. Y/N is not just a guest; she's family. My daughter."
Pepper's eyes widened in genuine surprise, and Y/N's gaze dropped to her lap, her fingers fidgeting with the ends of her jacket.
"I know this is unexpected," Tony continued, his tone more serious now. "But it's the truth. Y/N is my daughter, and I thought it was time to make it official."
Pepper, ever composed, took in the information with a thoughtful expression. "Tony, this is a big revelation. Why now?"
Tony sighed, a rare vulnerability showing in his eyes. "She just found out. Her mom passed away recently, and she came looking for me. We've been running some tests, and it's confirmed. She's a Stark."
Pepper's gaze shifted to Y/N, who was still looking down to her lap, her eyes revealing a mix of emotions. "I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Y/N. This must be a lot to take in."
Y/N nodded, her voice steady but carrying a hint of vulnerability. "It is, but I wanted to meet my dad. Know him. And I guess I wanted him to know me too."
Pepper's professionalism softened into a genuine warmth. "Well, Tony has a way of surprising us, doesn't he?"
Tony, appreciating Pepper's ability to handle unexpected situations with grace, chimed in, "So, I thought it was high time you two met officially. Y/N, Pepper is not just a colleague; she's a friend, and she's been a big part of my life."
Y/N looked at Pepper with a newfound understanding. "I've heard a lot about you. Dad talks about you a lot."
Pepper chuckled, exchanging a glance with Tony. "He does, does he? I'm glad you found your way here, Y/N."
Tony finally looked at pepper with what could only be described as proud of his daughter," Pepper, Y/N's a prodigy, graduated college at thirteen."
Pepper's gaze shifted from Tony to Y/N, a mix of surprise and interest in her eyes. "Impressive. It's not every day you meet a college graduate at thirteen."
Y/N shrugged, a modest smile playing on her lips. "It's just numbers and equations. Not that different from the kind of stuff you deal with here, I'm sure."
Pepper's smile widened, and a subtle camaraderie formed between them. "True, we're all in the business of making the impossible seem routine."
As the evening unfolded, the trio navigated the complexities of their new dynamic. Conversations ranged from Tony's eccentric exploits to Y/N's academic achievements. Pepper, always perceptive, made an effort to include Y/N in the narrative of Stark Industries, explaining the nuances of the company and its projects.
The Stark Mansion, usually a symbol of Tony's solitary lifestyle, transformed into a space where the threads of an unconventional family began to weave together. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows in the living room as they shared stories and laughter.
As the evening draws to a close, Tony found himself glancing between Pepper and Y/N, a sense of contentment settling within him. The revelation had been met with unexpected understanding, and the three of them, bound by the evolving tapestry of their connections, looked toward the future with a newfound sense of unity.
As they settled into a conversation, Tony observed the interaction with a quiet satisfaction. His daughter and his closest confidante – two pillars of his life meeting for the first time. There was a certain weight to the moment, an unspoken acknowledgment of the roles these women played in his world.
Later as the trio gathered in the mansion's elegant dining room, Tony proposed a toast. "To family, in all its complicated, unpredictable glory."
Glasses clinked, and as they sipped the rich red wine, Tony turned to Y/N and Pepper with a mischievous grin. "You two are stuck with me, you know. Like it or not, we're a team now."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eyes. "Is that your way of saying we're officially a dysfunctional family?"
Tony chuckled, a genuine warmth in his eyes. "Dysfunctional? No. Unique? Absolutely. And hey, we make it work."
As dinner progressed, the conversation flowed seamlessly between technology, business, and personal anecdotes. Pepper and Y/N discovered common ground beyond their roles in Tony's life. They shared stories of challenges, triumphs, and the occasional frustration of dealing with a man as eccentric as Tony Stark.
As dessert was served, Tony excused himself, leaving Y/N and Pepper alone. The room, bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, created an intimate atmosphere.
Y/N regarded Pepper with a contemplative gaze. "So, what's it like being with Tony Stark? It can't be easy." Pepper smiled, a mix of fondness and wry humor. "It's a rollercoaster, that's for sure. But underneath the genius and the chaos, there's a man with a heart of gold. You just have to dig a bit to find it."
Y/N nodded, a newfound understanding dawning on her. "He's not exactly the easiest person to get to know."
Pepper chuckled. "True. But he's worth it. And I have a feeling you see that too."
Over the weeks that followed, Y/N and Pepper's relationship evolved from cautious coexistence to a genuine bond. The mansion, once a symbol of Tony's solitude, now echoed with the laughter and camaraderie of an unconventional family.
Y/N, ever the astute observer, noted the subtle shifts in Tony's demeanor when Pepper was around. The banter, the shared glances – it was evident that Pepper held a special place in Tony's life. While a part of Y/N grappled with the unfamiliar territory of a potential stepmother, another part recognized the genuine connection between the two.
Pepper, on her end, admired Y/N's intellect and resourcefulness. She saw in her a reflection of Tony's brilliance, a legacy that extended beyond the confines of technology. The initial skepticism Y/N had felt toward Pepper gradually morphed into a mutual respect, a recognition of their shared commitment to the enigmatic man at the centre of their lives.

For the record, it was not the Winter Soldier who brought on the end of humanity. It was more of a group effort really.
And that clutz Murphy, a product of Hydra nepotism putting someone in a position they shouldn’t be in.
And now several years on Bucky has a lot of confusing memories, but at least the fast paced environment and literal walking nightmares means he doesn’t really have time to dwell too much on the more distant past.
In the end none of it mattered anyways.
Bucky is merely surviving, avoiding best he can the lingering human population and avoiding Empties when possible.
This task is going well, until he gets stuck with a small but fierce blonde named Steve. *Steve/Bucky ______________________________________________
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes’s family is indebted to Alexander Pierce, a powerful man who has preyed on him and those like his family for decades. There are only a few years of service left to pay his debt, but recently Pierce's brute Rumlow has been escalating in his violence. Fearing the inevitable and with nowhere to actually go Pierce can’t reach, Bucky had begun to accept his fate.
Then Bucky’s luck turns when a persistent advertisement for an insanely affordable apartment in Bed-Stuy interrupts his browsing at a bakery, the shop close enough to pick up the free wi-fi from the Avenger’s Tower.
Maybe there is a chance.
Clint Barton has a surprise new tenant that he is pretty damn sure there had been no application for. Likely Jarvis’s idea, the AI sparing some processing to help manage Clint’s apartment building. Avenging and being a landlord takes a toll.
Not a problem except the top floor – Clint’s floor – has been left empty save him for safety reasons. Which meant the only vacancy was right next door. And it turns out the new guy is hot. And maybe kinda in trouble. Which is so his type.
So many ways this can go bad, and Clint is sure he'll find all of them. *Bucky/Clint ______________________________________________
Tumblr media
“Steve?” Bucky finally speaks, having been standing – no, shaking – in the living room entrance. The brunette says his name with such disbelief. Like they hadn’t just seen each other. Right?
“Stevie?” and he crosses the distance between them and all but picks Steve up with desperate hands, “Steve, you look...they said you’re dead Stevie.”
Bucky sinks to his knees before Steve with a sob and real panic claws at the smaller man, causes a hitch in his breathing he is glad Bucky doesn’t seem to notice. Bucky claws at him too, both hands fisting in his shirt, pulling Steve tight to him while the man’s head presses against Steve’s stomach.
As time passes lazily around Steve the growing sense that something is off nags at him when all Steve wants is to see his ma.
And find out what is suddenly wrong with Bucky. *Steve/Bucky
______________________________________________
Bucky also knows Steve’s touch, delicate and light, always too cold despite rubbing Steve’s charcoal stained fingers warm himself. It was something he found himself doing a lot in the winter when they couldn’t always afford charcoal for the whole night, so they waited until right before bed to begin heating the room. No, these weren’t those surprisingly long but skinny fingers with knobby knuckles he would lay gentle kisses onto, warming each with the heat of his mouth.
“Shit, Morita, he is burning up,” and not-Steve sounds so worried that Bucky can’t help but lean into the touch and just pretend for a moment it is his Stevie. *Steve/Bucky ______________________________________________
It wouldn’t have been so bad, Bucky could have shrugged this off easily once he caught his breath, but he found the more he pulled to free himself the worse it seemed to be. Barnes thinks he hears shouting, but it is distorted and drowned out by the pounding in his ears. Ripping further at the trap that was furthering ensnaring him he found himself snarling and just ripping at it with brute strength and panicked rage that echoed of the Asset’s frustrated rampages through Hydra personnel. *Clint/Bucky ______________________________________________
It was a fairly routine outing for the Avengers, aside from the location making Steve and Bucky uneasy, not even forty miles from where Bucky had fallen into Hydra’s control for nearly seven decades.
What was he supposed to say, ‘I know this is where I failed you, so just wondering if you wanted to sit this one out?’ or maybe, ‘This might be hard, but do you want to talk about how this is where they dragged you off from, after I left you behind, broken and bleeding?’
Instead Steve had been too in his own head at the same news that had unsettled Bucky, the train, the snow, Gabe’s face when he saw Bucky’s absence and Steve’s broken state – making it real, sealing it.
The two had both sat there in a sort of stunned silence, heartbeats passing, and then it was too late. Bucky was out the door, shoulders back and his stride long, and Steve merely followed him to the armory. *Steve/Bucky ______________________________________________
It is 1994 and James Barnes has been out of Hydra’s grasp for several months. Barnes is just trying to stay ahead of Hydra, and is at an event to take out an exposed Hydra commander to help with this.
Seeing the young Tony Stark at the event shakes Barnes's loose grip on his own mind however, and Barnes's attention is suddenly split between the past and now - and between his need to remain hidden and his desire to reclaim part of the Bucky he remembers.
Meanwhile, Tony Stark has been avoiding as many responsibilities as possible in the three years since his parents died - but tonight is the first step into entering Stark Industries as the CEO.
Instead Tony's greatest strength is dampened and he finds himself suddenly at the mercy of those around him, and to top it off he begins to worry for his sanity when he finds himself wanting to help a hallucination of Bucky Barnes. *Tony/Bucky ______________________________________________
There is no warning or retort when a punch to his side causes him to stumble, followed by a searing burn blooming from his left bicep. Clint manages to get cover behind a set of dumpsters as he makes out the distinct ping when a bullet hits where he’d been. Gunshots. He had been shot and the night air was not the least bit bothered by it. Luckily his arm seems to be nothing but a deep graze but his side would have to wait. Obscured and hindered by his uniform at least the compression suit would help in the meantime.
Hawkeye only knows one man who handles a gun that quietly, and this makes twice the fucker got the drop on him. And he is supposed to be dead. *Clint/Bucky ______________________________________________
After a close call, Bucky Barnes finds himself alone in the Tower.
Solitude is not something that bothers Bucky, and a chance to relax and nurse his wounds wouldn't be so bad...if it wasn't also Steve and Bucky's anniversary.
It certainly doesn't help things that there may have been a mix up with Bucky's medicine. *Steve/Bucky ______________________________________________
“Mrs....Mrs. Rogers...he looks…” a small voice sobs quietly, and Sarah was at his level immediately, her arms tight around him. Bucky let out another sob, this time muffled by her shoulder. His small body shaking against her as she can tell he tries to hold it in.
They stay like that for a few minutes and some of the tightness leaves Sarah’s chest just a little, and the trembling in the small boy calms some. Bucky sniffles and murmurs an apology. Sarah gently pulls back from Bucky and sweeps some hair out of his eyes. Stevie might be the frail one, but this poor Barnes boy had such a soft heart. *Steve/Bucky ______________________________________________
