Have you heard of the "Crowley is Malleus' dad" theory going around? Where Prince Levan (or whatever his name is) didn't actually die and just went out to get some milk and is now known as Dire Crowley, the silly man? The implications of that theory is absolutely hilarious when you think about it

“you know that game you like? it’s actually… alright.” idia says out of the blue, last word enunciated slowly as though he had been mulling over his word choice. he actually enjoyed the game very much, but he wasn’t going to tell you that—choosing to feign nonchalance, doing finger pushups against his desk in an attempt to look somewhat occupied.

you can’t help but beam. “you actually played it?!” you’re leaning in so, so close to him, the apples of his cheeks instantly grow rosy and he finds himself looking anywhere but your bright, hopeful eyes. he was the making you this happy? just by playing a game? (he decides this expression was one he wanted to see more often—if he could bring himself to look your way, that is.)

“w-well i didn’t get too far but from where i was, the lore seems interesting and the characters are cute, and…” he pauses, sneaking a glance at you. you’re hanging onto his every word, urging him to keep rambling on. “the graphics are cool too. i guess.” he internally facepalms. he should shut up. why did you care so much about his opinion, anyway?

“just give me your game id so i can add you–” idia’s mid-sentence when his words are cut off by a whisper of thanks and an odd, feverish sensation on his right cheek that ends faster than he can process. he short-circuits.

if his face had been flushed before, he’s certain his hair is now a similar shade, blue ends blossoming into dahlia pink as his breath hitches, heart thrumming against his chest rather suddenly.

“hh… it was nothing really. i mean, i guess it was pretty easy for a pro like me.” you were doing wonders for his ego. he’s baring his teeth, flashing his wide signature smile before his lips ghost over yours apprehensively.

“i-if i played more, would you kiss me again?”

malleus ensures your safety

“you really don’t have to walk me home!” you’re flailing your arms about a little helplessly as he meets your stride with a chuckle.

“but i want to. it’s also night-time.” he reminds you, ignoring the fact that you’re in a boarding school with sufficient security, and also had his retainers trailing after you, currently hiding in the bushes in an attempt to be somewhat inconspicuous. “making sure that you get home safe eases my worries considerably.”

well, when he puts it like that… you don’t have the heart to deny him.

as your shoulders bump, malleus wonders how your hands would feel in his. were you the type to intertwine fingers when holding hands, or did simply having one hand rest on top of another suffice? were your hands smaller, or bigger? his digits brush against your own, but retract themselves just as fast.

the action doesn’t go unnoticed. even after putting a label on your relationship, he’d still be hesitant initiating any sort of skin-ship. it’s as though he expects you to cower and shy away, when all you want to do is revel in his affection. so you stop walking.

malleus, lost in his own thoughts, continues on ahead, and you bite your tongue trying not to snicker when he finally breaks out of his reverie to see you’re no longer by his side. he beckons you over, forehead wrinkling slightly as he huffs and juts his lips out into a pout. cute. “what are you doing?”

“mal, we’re dating. you can hold my hand, you know.” surveying his tentative demeanour, you add: “it’d make me feel more secure if you did.”

“oh.” his pout is replaced by a coy smile as you meet his side once again.

“if that’s how you feel,” he squeezes your hand, swinging it back and forth before raising it with childlike awe. he’s brimming with unfathomable tenderness as you lock eyes; you match his expression, teetering between bashfulness and contentment. “then we should’ve done this sooner.”

vil listens your criticisms

“–and so i just told him straight: if that’s the role i’m going to be offered, then i’ll take my leave.” vil finishes his rant as you hum in acknowledgment, eyes closed as you try your best to stay still. he’s putting some sort of powder all over your face, and you resist the urge to scrunch your nose at the ticklish sensation of brush hairs flicking across your profile. “i can imagine how you strutted out.” you giggle.

though your eyes are closed, you know he’s rolling his eyes at your remark as he holds your shoulder firmly to stop it from moving with the tremors of your laugh. “well? what would you have done?”

you’re silent for a couple beats, pursing your lips in contemplation. “i suppose i would’ve tried to compromise. i think you should’ve asked about other roles instead of leaving right away when you didn’t get what you wanted.” the room seems to still, and you feel like retracting your words when he doesn’t reply immediately. “vil?”

“you’re right.” other than rook, you were the only one brave enough to talk to him straightforwardly, lacking any semblance of falsity. “i think i needed to hear that.” vil carries on working away, spraying you with something you only recently learned (courtesy of him, of course) was ‘setting spray’. an odd, guttural noise comes from your boyfriend’s throat—you’re not sure if that’s a particularly positive or negative sign. “you can open your eyes.”

adjusting to the sudden brightness, you blink thrice before peering at yourself in the vanity mirror. “so? am i beautiful now?” you tease light-heartedly, posing as he pulls you into taking a quick selfie before pocketing his phone again.

he admires your sanguine features and his hard work, feeling a smile tug against the corners of his lips; he lets it grow wide, because he supposes there’s no need to play pretend. you always see right through him anyway. he presses a kiss to your nose, careful not to smudge the silvery highlight on it’s tip. “you’re already beautiful.”

he likes you so much it’s detestable.

Azul felt like an octopus out of water

When he had heard Jade yelling out a warning it was already too late and he was already falling down the stairs, a student he made a deal with not too long ago standing not too far, his hands lowering themselves from the pushing him

And now he was laying on the floor in a place he didn't recognize

Moonlight filtered through the window of the room and a sleeping figure almost completely covered by a blanket was illuminated by its light and the light from the phone they were laying next to, indicating that they fell asleep whilst using it

Did he teleport to a different place? Azul still felt the burning sensation of the hard stone of the stairs hitting his body so he might have done that out of desperation...

And desperate he was when you turned over in your sleep and he could see your face

And thus, the screaming began

Imagine his surprise, no his shock after seeing the person he had admired, sought after for so long laying in front of him in their pajamas

Although, it would be better to say you did lay in your pajamas because now you were jumping up in fear for your life

But after fearing that a madman had broken into your house life with Azul was pretty nice

Azul is a pretty good cook from running Mostro Lounge so him making dinner is like going to an expensive restaurant

There is that thing about him wanting to pay you rent though…

You see, Azul is not someone who wants to leech (haha, get it?) off of someone

So he takes on "side jobs"

Nothing dangerous, of course, but I think we can all agree that Azul in ANY job position is a safety hazard

Not because he is bad at what he does but because of his, how do I describe it, manipulative (?) ways

Sooner than later, it seems more like Azul is running the place he works at instead of his boss

But when you ever were to ask him what the heck he did to change the power dynamics so much in his favour, he plays innocent so I guess one point to him (although we all know better)

Back to your more private life, he may not seem like it but Azul can be one heck of a possessive guy

He won't jump the mailman, Azul knows that there is a point where his feelings get a bit too much (huh, so he is self aware?) but if you dare to bring a friend of your over? Uh... you still have friends?

I thought a certain person living with you scared all of them away

So let's say someone is still in a friendly relationship with you, nothing romantic, just friends

Let us call that person Example 1 (say hi to Example 1, Example 1 say hi to the reader)

Azul won't mind them coming over, he won't mind cooking for them, he won't mind playing nice with Example 1 but he will mind if they decide to come more than once

That glare he will send them will make them wonder if they get to see the light of the next dawn one more time

And perhaps the merman has another side job he hasn't told you about. And maybe that job allows him to do things that make the police gag

Shout out to the crime scene cleaners. Why is there even stuff from, you know what, on the ceiling? Maybe red paint will make the stains less noticeable. Oh god renovating this place will cost a fortune

Rook Hunt: the man, the legend, the not-so-sane hunter who could (and probably would if laws weren't a thing) shoot you simply for fun

Said man, legend, absolute menace to society, is not someone who is easily scared. Heck, he can probably hear dust falling to the ground for to his trained hearing which makes sneaking up on him absolutely impossible

What he cannot hear though is the almighty power of an author who decides to put him into a different world simply for the lols

So when the floor suddenly disappears and reappears two meters lower the poor man can't help himself but to stumble rather unelegant (unlike his usual self) into the wall, searching for something to hold on to just to smash his side against it

That does not change the situation though and the more or less mad hat-wearer gets a broom flung at his head

Rook is not someone who will sit around and do nothing though

After a lot of explaining (and you standing over him with a pan in hand for self-defense) you decide that his confused and lost self is a lot less charming than his usual one and you just allow him to stay

He will bring home edible plants and freshly shot meat (and if you live a meat-free lifestyle he will simply bring a bigger amount of edible flora)

WILL (and there is no escape from it) flirt with you in French (and now all my French readers, we all feel outraged by his bad translations)

But this is Rook so, of course, you think that this is just his usual chatter

He will also help you around the house. Your home has never been cleaner (I am convinced Vil controls Pomefiore for dust with white gloves)

He is great at ironing. Those long sleeves must have been great practice material

This reminds me, there had been an incident where he had been carrying your laundry from the cleaner and you bumped into him, leading him to crash into the exact same spot against the wall once more

Since that day Rook and that wall have a burning hatred for each other (more like Rook against the wall) and due to other events it's now 5:0 for the wall

But of course, we can't just focus on the lalala dreamland stuff

Once the dog of your neighbor decided to rip some of your stuff you owned and kept on your property to pieces

Your neighbor being an annoyance decided that “No, I won't pay. You should have looked out that MY dog wouldn't do that.”

Remember that Rook enjoys hunting?

Now, your neighbor doesn't know that so when they find their “little darling” dead in front of their house they can't reconnect it to you

Two nights later they wake up in a forest of some kind, that new roommate of yours staring down at them from a tree with an amused gaze, telling them he will let them have a headstart by one minute

Long story short, they weren't seen again

The young hunter may be a bit… much but he knows when to be discreet when he needs to be

And would you look at that? You also start to get frightened, leaving your home less and less

I mean, there have been disappearances around your neighborhood but look at the bright side, now you won't feel like someone is watching you from somewhere every time leave the house

He has a notebook that is just about you. From daily occurrences and what you did to your worries to your likes, hobbies and much more

Since Rook is Rook he will snuggle against you when you sleep and I don't mean this in a manner of you two sharing beds. Oh no, he has his own little space to sleep

This creep will slip into your bed just to carefully cuddle with you for an hour once you are asleep, then it's back to his own bed

Rook's list of victims grows double as fast as the list of great experiences he has with you

But not like that matters. All of them could disappear for all he cares. All he needs is you. Just you. Nothing else. Such a simple request, right?

Seeing the new Ruggie card and the freaking disc made me realize that Yuu got lucky getting away getting hit by that thing? IN THE HEAD?!

Hey, we can’t have our main point-of-view character dead or with an extended concussion this early in the game + they needed a convenient transition to the next scene in a way which doesn’t reveal Malleus’s true identity to Yuu (gotta keep that a secret until late book 5) 😂 As the player’s avatar, they’re equipped with strong plot armor. It definitely feels like a part where you need your suspension of disbelief to kick in for it to “make sense”. Getting beaned in the head with a GOLD disk propelled by magic at a high velocity sounds like it could do significant damage otherwise.

Oh, and speaking of the new Ruggie card?? We get our first look at what the Magift uniforms look like:

The purple and black are consistently shown to be NRC’s school colors; these are also present in other athletic uniforms as well as the ceremonial robes. It’s no surprise to see those same shades reflected here, in the Magift (ie Spelldrive) uniform.

Not sure if I understand the jacket he’s wearing over the black, the length of it makes it easy to snag on something while flying. Maybe it’s just something Ruggie specifically wears (since he tends to have hand-me-owns that may not fit him correctly)?? The placement of the belts across Ruggie’s torso is… interesting? Is that meant to secure him…? Why do I get the sense that the belts will be used to frame Leona’s chest in his own Club Wear iteration 😭

The goggles make sense; you’d want to protect your eyes from such a dangerous sport. I was expecting more bulky and protective headwear though 😅 Thankfully the knees and legs seem to be padded! You can’t tell if the arms are due to the sleeves, but I hope they are too. The whole outfit seems to have a focus on being aerodynamic. I’m guessing the protective element of the clothes comes from magic being imbued into them or something (since we know that’s the case for dorm uniforms and ceremonial robes). That must explain why the Magift uniforms don’t look like American footballers. According to Yana, these clothes were designed not just with protection from collisions and rolling in mind, but also to allow for flying at high speeds.

I appreciate that the Club Wear cards usually give us a new hairstyle for each student. Ruggie has his bangs parted to make way for a pair of goggles! This look makes him look slightly more mature.

A nice detail for this card is that we get to see the field set up for a full game of Magift. The goal looks so funky and generic fantasy at the same time 😂

... Now imagine pulling up to the field looking cool and intimidating in your clothes, only to get your ass handed to you by pretty boys in (probably) pristine white uniforms that haplessly cheer about the power of friendship 💀 AND THAT HUMILIATION IS TELEVISED ALL OVER TWISTED WONDERLAND

Queen Maleficia's View on Love & The Mystery of Malleus’ Birth

Now this is where I get suspicious and wonder how much Malleus knows about his birth and why they are hiding it from him.

We know as of chapter 5 of book 7, Malleus doesn’t know certain things such as Silver’s background.

But what is this? To Malleus, he was alone before he hatched from his egg.

Now, we know that’s not true. We know Meleanor gave the egg to Lilia to hatch.

But why does Malleus imply that he doesn’t know that? Why imply he was born alone and not from the love that Lilia gave him?

This is where I look at Maleficia in anger and suspicion, because not only has she not shown up to stop Malleus OB, but she has isolated him and basically locked him up.

On top of that, she rarely spends time with him. And if what Lilia says, she had kept him busy too and away, probably on purpose.

Not only that, something tells me she didn’t allow Lilia to raise Malleus. Wether it be status or what not.

Could be to protect Malleus or maybe because she still has anger because of her daughter’s death.

But this?

Why hide this fact? That it could have been Lilia who hatched him with his love? That Lilia’s love was what gave hope to Briar Valley after centuries?

Why hide the fact, that it was true love?

Or has the Queen given up on love? Like how Maleficent spurned it in the live action movie.

How she thought it was a weakness and could that be why she isolated Malleus? Why she kept Lilia away from truly being able to raise the boy he hatched and loved? The one he saw as a son?

Because love makes you weak? It was what caused her daughter’s death. Possibly Levan’s as well.

(We don’t know what happened to Maleficia’s partner either, could her husband been killed or had he betrayed her?)

Now she doesn’t want this to happen to Malleus, so she isolates him from everyone. So he doesn’t become weak.

And in fact, it worked didn’t it?

Malleus became one of the tops five strongest mages in Twisted Wonderland.

But at what cost to Malleus? To herself? To Lilia?

And even then, her plan didn’t work did it?

Malleus still found a way to escape, and he got to spend time with Lilia, and he even got to raise and love a human baby.

In a way, she caused Malleus destruction and near death, because she didn’t let him be free and let him love.

And now, he’s holding on as tight as he can to what he has, because that’s all he has ever had and cherished.

It was the only love he has ever felt, and can you blame him for trying to desperately hold onto it?

(Lilia leaving and Malleus saying he has no one left shows that to him, Lilia was more to him than his grandmother. He doesn’t even mention her so you can guess at the relationship those two have.

Silver and Sebek treats him as knights and lord.

Maleficia is distant and cold.

Lilia was the only one to treat him normal and scold him, show him care.

So no wonder he holds on so desperately.)

// TWST Book 7 spoilers, thoughts of Malleus's writing as a character

So I was reading some other people's opinions on why some people consider Malleus overrated/annoying, and tbh this makes me really sad. The general consensus is that a lot of people fixate on certain sides and can only see him as one extreme or the other and it results in many ppl thinking a watered down version of his character is how he is in canon.

I feel that its such a shame because he's the most interesting, compelling and well-rounded take on his character archetype I've seen.

From my observation, usually they kinda make this archetype (the broody misunderstood 'everyone fears him like a monster except for one special person') someone you can't take that seriously, because of how his struggle usually kind of written in a way where everyone involved feel less like actual fully fledged original characters and really just one note tropes interacting with other one note tropes.

To elaborate: What i mean when i say this is usually ppl who hate him kind of just do because of plot requires them to and to show how all their haters are "normies" who can't get him because 'he's not like everyone else'. The misunderstood guy still usually has toxic personality issues but the story really tends to make it feel like they don't fear him for that but because they're shallow and have prejudice to ppl like him, so his personality issues are not framed as wrong or character flaws.

I don't think there's anything inherenrly wrong or mediocre with the "one special person who gives him a chance before anyone else" trope like I'm literally a Malleyuu enjoyer lol but like i said its all in the execution cause otherwise it fails to be compelling and believable. Usually in the poorly written version of this trope the guy doesn't undergo any character development other than showing more emotion and kindess to his partner because they melted his ice I guess so it really makes his whole character feel like its revolves around the sake of romance and fanservice.

Malleus doesn't fall into this trap in my opinion because his situation despite how fantastical it is, the way he was written makes it believable as to why everything is the way it is with him, and it also challenges the viewer if they would be able to say they wouldn't fear him too in that situation.

"We're gonna give you this character who everyone sees as a monster and show you deep down he just wants the same love as everyone else, making you contemplate changing judgement on him. He wants to prove this, but his way of going about it always inadvertently harms others."

"You know where hes coming from and if he had that social connection to give him a better understanding of others this wouldn't be happening, but its also equally understandable that the people hes trying to connect with don't deserve this and fear him even more after this, trapping him in a cycle of isolation."

"Given his track record, do you go about giving him a chance or just considering the repeatedly proven danger he brings. With the valid reasons of both parties, can you really say he isn't a monster and demand that 'if only people be near him'?"

There's just such a tragic and thought-provoking dilemma to his character that adds so many layers that makes him so good.

As omniscient viewers we have the benefit of seeing what he's going through form his POV so we can sympathize with him and understand that he thinks what he's doing is the best course of action and he's just trying to create a "win for everyone" situation.

But also everything he does ironically reaffirms everyone's fear and distrust of someone like him. No one can deny he has a tendency to cause further destruction when he tries to do something "good", examples including: past Briar Valley lantern lighting fire, the Halloween 2 ghost world party, and now his Sleeping Curse stunt in Book 7 Part 2 (they really emphasize this by making the spoken name of his UM basically mean "Malicious Fairy" but have its written name used to convey what its meant to mean be "Blessing").

↑ Given this, it honestly makes sense others, especially those who don't know him all that well, would just expect the worst when he's around already, and you wouldn't be able to blame them for that given the track record. It doesn't help that this impression is worsened since he tends to cause misunderstandings due to his lack of familiarity with human social cues.

Alongside the bias and preconceived notions from his status and reputation, they also make a point on how his personality flaws are still also a huge factor in pushing people away, such as not being able to see things through the perspective of others.

He also holds a subconcious belief due to what has been ingrained in him since childhood as a Draconia and the next in line that because he's superior to others at certain things, he has the right and responsibility to decide on what will protect and help them, disregarding the individual values/priorities of human beings and leading him to take reckless and destructive action with good intentions.

His upbringing, character strengths and character flaws are all realistically connected to each other and the way they are subtly shown to be ever-present in defining his decisions, goals and thoughts throughout the whole story. So we don't really need to have a character go out of their way to exposition this to us this word for word just so we can understand and believe it.

Moving onto something slightly more lighthearted, I really also like how dorky Malleus surprisingly was. Other similar characters in the archetype I usually see don't really have any hobbies, interests, or quirks outside of being a broody authority figure, which might've been appealing to some at first but it really just gets stale and boring after a while.

This should be the bare minimum in making a fleshed out and interesting character so maybe i sound like im giving them too much credit for pointing it out😭 But yeah compared to the other examples it's good that Malleus has his Tamagotchi and Gargoyle interests it makes him feel like a believable person who has his own life going on too (with the bonus that these interests are also metaphors for aspects of his character). The gap moe adds an endearing side to him, and makes the gap between his intent and impact of his actions even more tragic. It wouldn't hit the same without this side.

(^ Forgot how the exact quote goes, but it basically said dark stories are more effective when there are moments of genuine happiness and good in them, compared to if it was always just grim and edgy. The former increases the stakes and tragedy because you have something you to care about losing, while for the latter there is nothing for you to care about so nothing the story does really matters. Same logic applies to Malleus)

Overall, it's just like an unfortunate incompatibility of goals and circumstances, which is what TWST is all about. Another thing I want to say is out of all the characters, I feel like Malleus is the one who is the ultimate embodiment of TWST's main themes:

-> How it's not about "hero" vs "villain" just differing circumstances crossing paths and clashing because of how people on either side have their own complex perspective and dreams they want to realize

-> And how connection and finding community is important to find people who will help you make up for what you lack in reaching your goals and to better understand all the factors that caused the situation in the first place.

As if seeing yourself reflected in a mirror, the more you get to know the people around you, you realize in many ways you are actually quite alike, and through understanding others you could also possibly better understand certain aspects of yourself. It's sort of encouraging you to do the opposite of dehumanizing others and yourself, which is something Malleus has most evidently internalized.

So yeah this was so long😭 I had a lot I wanted to say since Malleus is my favorite TWST character. Idk if I missed anything or if i managed to express my thoughts in a cohesive way but yeah. I kinda go into a rage whenever I see the worst takes ever be put out about his character but tbh sometimes I can't completely blame others since fandom trends and the convenience of simplifying things into tropes can warp your perception of a character and what you associate with them.

Also sometimes twst doesn't do a good job with utilizing his character like Book 5 where he got turned into a deus ex machina and Halloween 2 where they killed any hype and intrigue for the plot we had at the beginning through the ending reveal and gave the worst justification ever for Malleus and Lilia's actions ever.

Regardless, I hope more people manage to move past this and appreciate his character for what it really is soon though. He's an amazingly tragic character; a lot of thought was put into how his experiences, strengths and weaknesses would convincingly connect, and he represents something relevant in the story's plot and themes.

The fact that I've seen some people unironically believe that Malleus may just be faking his cluelessness of social cues to hide his "true evil" is evidence to how convincing his character's situation is, that even some in the audience who know more about him than the characters would still end up in the same place of doubt and distrust of Malleus because of what he's capable of.

***I meant to do a post for Chapter 1 of Book 7 earlier but it’s been super chaotic with the holidays 😭***

***Slightly longer post but I just want to get my feelings out lol***

BUT I do wanna vent about specific parts of this chapter cause I’m constantly on edge waiting for the release of Chapter 2 (even though I’ll be crying and hyperventilating throughout the next chapter)

First of all, let me start off with how much I love seeing Sebek have a bitch fit from us calling Malleus Tsunotaro

Like dude basically had an aneurysm and tantrum over it and I fucking love his reaction 😭

(Also totally not loving the attention from Malleus in the very beginning of the chapter 🙈)

Being such a huge fan of Sleeping Beauty I’m thriving on the focus of it for this Book and I can’t wait to see where it takes us ❤️

BUT BUT There were two parts that had me almost to the point of losing my goddamn mind

1. The idea that we could be leaving Ace, Deuce and Grim

When Deuce and Grim started reminiscing and getting upset about us leaving and Grim being alone again

JUST THE ABSOLUTE HEARTBREAK I FELT IN THIS SCENE WAS AWFUL LIKE TWST WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME

CAN WE GIVE OURSELVES A BREAK WE KEEPING GOING THROUGH SO MUCH SHIT TOGETHER

BUT THEN ACE'S REACTION IS SENDING ME TO THE HEAVENS

I'M SO CONFUSED AT ACE'S REACTION LIKE CMON TELL ME HOW YOU ACTUALLY FEEL

Throughout the whole series we've always seen Ace consoling us and keeping his positive outlook, and I'm DYING to see how he reacts to us leaving when we have a guaranteed way home

I feel like once he know's our time is coming to an end, Ace is gonna be inconsolable and just completely break down and beg us to not leave

AND I WILL NOT BE OKAY

IF I SEE ALL THREE OF THEM CRYING ABOUT US LEAVING OR THE OTHER STUDENTS IM GONNA BE IN THERAPY FOR WEEKS

I wish we got to see him more vulnerable but I feel like Yana is just cooking something up to DEVASTATE the fandom

Just the fact as he was telling his story and we pointed it out and he was just like "Oh, I guess I was" and acknowledged it

Does everyone need to be so traumatized by their past in this game like goddamn the whole goddamn school needs a therapist

Just reminiscing on his reactions to spending time with us in the main story and side stories, and how much he enjoyed being included just makes the past events more special with him 😭

....And his reaction afterward we told him we'd found a way home...

WE'RE JUST ADDING ON MORE TO HIS LONELINESS AND I HATE IT CAN'T WE GIVE MALLEUS LOVE AND A BREAK

I'm glad I'm also caught up to the Chapter 6 on the JPN server, but having to now relive everything in the EN server I will not be okay

Hello hello!! Thank you for this question! I am so glad that you enjoy the little translated blurbs from the books ♡

Confirming that something is in the novels is a lot easier than confirming something is not because there is always the likelihood that I have just forgotten, so I would like to reread the second novel to be absolutely sure (sometimes scenes that seem to have been removed are actually just placed elsewhere in the story), but I do know that, if there is a necktie interaction between Riddle and Yuuya, it is not in its original place!

Here is the scene in as it is in the second novel (part 1 of 2), overlapped with the pseudo-equivalent parts from Book 2!

"‘—and I guess it’s because I was so surprised, but I didn’t get any sleep at all last night.’

Yuuya recounts the events of the previous night as he gets ready for class, and Grim gives a chuckle.

‘Yuu, you’re such a scaredy cat.’

Grim yawns where he sits upon the bed, opening his mouth so wide it almost seems he could swallow Yuuya’s entire head.

Unlike Yuuya, Grim does not change his clothes in the morning, or wash his face. His morning routine is very quick as a result.

‘Gettin’ all freaked out just ‘cause you ran into some stranger at night. Ghosts are scarier than that, right?’

‘Well, yeah. But I had never seen someone with horns before, so I was surprised.’

As they leave the room and head downstairs, Grim looks back at Yuuya.

‘So what's his name?’

‘He wouldn’t tell me. He said I can call him anything I want. Based on the color of the armband he had, I think he was from Diasomnia.’

A yellow-green ribbon with a black line through it—Diasomnia colors, the same worn by Lilia and Silver. An imposing person like that would hardly be out of place in a dorm overseen by the much-rumored Malleus Draconia.

‘No point in goin’ to look for him, then. I wanted to see a human with horns,’ Grim says. ‘Was there anythin’ else about him?’

Yuuya does not know what to say. It is impossible to express it in words alone.

It was not a beauty that one recognizes at a glance, like that of Leona or Vil, but an otherworldly face with almond eyes that linger in your mind forever. An aura unlike that of anyone else, that none could even hope to attain.

Yuuya does not know if he will ever be able to put into words how he felt in that moment.

As Yuuya grapples with how to explain, Grim quickly makes up his mind.

‘Well, nevermind. Since we don’t know his name, let’s call him Hornton for now.’

‘Hornton?’ Yuuya’s eyes go wide. ‘That’s way too unsophisticated for him! He's sure to get upset.’

‘He’s the one who said to call him whatever, so it’s fine. He’s got no ground to stand on, right?’

‘Well, he did, but…’

Grim seems to have become bored with their discussion. He dismissively responds, ‘Tell me the next time you see that Hornton. I’m gonna make sure he understands real good that Ramshackle isn’t some ruin.’

Who would you take on Vacation? (Twst)

This was something I typed up in discord and broke the character limit Two types of vacation: Chilling - just a vacation where you aren't really bouncing around and mostly going places like hot springs, places chill like that. Mainly on vacay to chill and vibe Experiencing - BOUNCING AROUND PLACE TO PLACES, COME ON LETS GO its the asscrack of dawn You do things like have a big plan and you gotta stick to that plan (but yes rest is built in)

The people I would take on a chill vacay and why - Idia - He will not be waking anyone up early, in fact I bet he would be fussy if anyone woke him up before 10 or 11. He would be down to chill places and just play or his phone/switch/ect. (He might also be fine with being payer for the trip) Ortho - Ortho has access to google and a database that probably bigger than the sun at all times. He would be the best for finding places to chill out. Cater - HE WOULD KNOW EVER NEAT LITTLE SPOT. He'll probably also be a sleeper but he will just be able to turn a corner and point out the best restaurant or cafe ever (xoxo to social media) Jamil - STRAPPING THIS POOR MAN TO A BED AND MAKING HIM SLEEP-- he needs to be here he needs rest. Silver - Plan: laying him over Jamil so they both sleep. Riddle - Needs and entire break from his dorm and mother.. Lilia: I searched all over the city… And yet I couldn't find him at all.

Malleus: I heard that at the end of all that, Sebek's family found and watched over Silver.

Lilia: Yes. I cannot thank them enough.

Lilia: And that includes appreciating them for sternly asking me, "Can you really raise a child when you're like this?"

Lilia: I'm sure they truly cared for Silver as if he were their own child…

Lilia: After that, every time I inevitably needed to leave our home, they insisted on taking care of Silver.

Lilia: They often watched over him until Silver was old enough to stay at home by himself.

Malleus: To have him to disappear like that… I can understand why Sebek's parents would worry deeply about him.

Lilia: When that happened, I also was truly ashamed.

Lilia: …But you know, Malleus. I have taken this role of child-rearing very seriously, in my own way.

Lilia: It is the same now as it was been, nothing has changed.

Lilia: It's not always the case that there would be someone by your side to extend a kind, helping hand.

Malleus: This bat that you cared for looks as if it will thrive wonderfully in the wild.

Lilia: Kufufu, doesn't it just? You can keep praising me, if you'd like.

Malleus: …You were heading out to release the bat, were you not? I'll join you.

Malleus: …What a beautiful full moon.

Lilia: Yes. This night sky is perfect for the beginning of its journey.

I'm honestly surprised that during the meeting with the remaining main characters/staff in the office during the beginning of Book 6, Malleus didn't really acknowledge Yuu. Considering Yuu now knows who he is and has a scratched up hand (that Jack was able to notice) how he didn't say anything to Yuu at all was kinda strange. I guess I'll chalk it up to it was a serious situation and he can withdraw from being all moon eyed for Yuu for a few mins...

Gotta be honest with y'all, and maybe my memory is just that bad, but I have no idea where you guys got the idea that Malleus fawns over Yuu ever.

This is the guy who saw Yuu get kicked out of Ramshackle in Book 3 and didn't do anything. This is the guy who didn't bother to ask Yuu before making their house a Halloween attraction. This is the guy who fixed the SDC stage because he didn't want to miss out on one of the few events he actually got invited to.

It's a fun headcanon that I absolutely adore, but in game? Malleus is quite selfish and oblivious to his surroundings (maybe because he was raised as royalty or maybe because he's fae, since Lilia also sometimes shows himself to be like that).

And yes, I'm aware of his lines in the cards, but still. Easy to say all that when God is poking you, but where's he when we need backup? Malleus, get your ass here and show at least a sliver of concern

That said, yeah, I do wish not only Malleus, but some of the other characters were a bit more concerned about Yuu. Like, hello? Person with no magic and no fighting skills who got injured and then beaten up by robots? And thanks, guys, for not even touching the subject of my already rundown house now being truly unhabitable, thank God Jack and Epel aren't socially inept

Murder Sibling Tuu

So concept

Yuu is the eldest and comes from a HUGE family with lots of siblings that are part of criminal legacy. Literally all of them are some sort of mafia boss, assassin, drug lord, or bank robber except for Yuu.

This isn't because Yuu hates it, nope its just not their thing. Their little siblings always go to Yuu for ideas on their next murder/heist/ect and they always give the best advice ever despite not being a criminal.

When they get isekaied, they didn't know that their family also came with until its too late.

Let's say they're dating Floyd since that was the original context. Under cut cause length

It's Vargas camp and as things come to a close there's another attack, the masked person overpowers Vargas and locks onto a group.of Yuus friends, chasing the first Years, Riddle, Malleus, Jade and Floyd.

The others scatter, just to get stuck in (non lethal) traps to be picked off later. The killer is smart and though Malleus is powerful he is outwitted when he caught in magic resistant trap— this damn killer was PLANNING it.

Floyd and the group fight back. But they are all beat up pretty bad, thankfully, there is no stab marks as the psychopath seems to be dragging this out for their enjoyment.

As they kick Floyd onto the ground as they spill the first drop of blood of the night as the killer slashes them and leaves a "superficial", but concerning wound on Floyds abdomen.

Jade screams out at his brother in horror, show more emotion than he ever has in this damn life, despite where he's trapped, he risks blot and shoots out a simple spell at the killers head just for them to dodge.

"You want to see my face that badly?" The voice was filled with a sickeningly honeyed tone of amusement. "I guess that's fair since I intend to kill you... may as well let you see who killed you."

"You wont get away with this!" Sebek shrieks. The killer takes off the mask just to see... Yuu?

"Yuu? No...nonono not my shrimpy... why?! Why would you—"

"Wait wait wait. Did you say Yuu? How the fuck do you know that name?" The killer asks but something was off, this wasn't yuus voice.

Just then Yuu comes out and slide in front of Floyd protectively, ready to fight before freezing.

"TUU?!"

"Yuu?! Oh God, oh shit. Don't tell me these are your friends..."

"You stabbed my fucking boyfriend!"

"Fuck! Sorry I didn't know— oh geez...." Tuu facepalms. "Hold on, I actually have a few healing potions..."

"Um... can you explain???" Riddle wheeze.

"Everyone this one of my my Octuplets, Tuu."

"OCTUPLET??" Sebek shrieks.

"Yeah that's not even all my siblings either, don't ask I lost count"

"Damn I'm sorry about that everyone, I would have never attacked if I knew Yuu was here. But dammit, I had it all planned out and everything! I would kill off some of you and leave your bodies out so that others would warn of this place and bam! A buncha idiots would explore and I get to practice my assassinations and murder techniques! Can't believe I wasted all that time though now....".

"Wait, Yuu why aren't you surprised?" Ace gawks

"Oh big sibling Yuu over here is weird. Literally everyone in our family's a murderer EXCEPT yuu which is suprising since they always have the best ideas for maiming!" Tuu giggles

"Wait... if your here does that mean—" a new voice interrupts Yuu

"Sort of! I assume our entire family is out in this new world but we haven't all been able to find each other. Thankfully, me and Tuu happened to be summoned together!"

"Who the fuck is that?!" Jack barks

"That's Kyu." Kyu stands proudly in their formal attire that's decades old as they twirl a cigar.

"Why didn't you reach out to me? I know Tuu is to busy murdering things but I know for a fact you knew where I was. Im the oldest! You report to me!" yuu scolds

"You're older by 10 minutes." Tuu interrupts as they pour the potion on Floyd.

"Shut up!"

Kyu shrugs. "I'm building a criminal empire."

"What" Deuce blinks.

"I said im building a criminal empire. I was the leader of several mafias and other organized gangs back in my world and now its back to square one! I need my underlings I'm not just gonna light my own cigars now, cmon!"

"That sounds like Kyu alright..." Yuu sighs.

"Plus then I'll be able to magically enroll our whole family into NRC just with a little blackmail as we learn about this world!"

"Crowleys pathetic you don't need a criminal empire you just need 5 dollars" Epel sighs.

"Perhaps." Kyuu shrugs again and takes a puff. "But having an interdimensional drug empire once we find away home is an opportunity I must not let pass by. Speaking of which, give me your phone, Yuu."

Yuu hands over the phone to Kyu. "Now you should be able to contact us and I'll keep you updated once I find the whole family. Oh yeah, be sure to send pictures of all your friends to the group chat along with their full names so we know who not to kill, maim, target—"

"I get it." Yuu sighs before helping Floyd up. "I love you guys but damn!"

"You love th—" Ace covers Deuces mouth.

Much less did he expect a person sleeping in that place, their posture telling him that they fell asleep whilst doing who-knows-what on their phone

Not lie it mattered after all they are just a normal hu… is that the Overseer?

And thus, the great screaming commenced

Safe to say that he gave you a heart attack

And who wouldn’t be frightened out of their mind if they woke up to a stranger kneeling in front of them, screming how honored they felt to be in your presence?

I would recommend getting earplugs the next time you go shopping

No joke, Sebek can’t go out and make money since there is just nothing he could give a hiring place to identify himself but his tea is pretty good

He does all of this with such enthusiasm and concentration that you might as well think that he is fighting for his life

But it’s not realy a suprise considering how he is towards Malleus

Although, you had thought that he was lettting Malleus have at least some free time

Is it normal for him to stand guard in front of your door when you are sleeping?

And what is with him always taking care of you as if you were an old person too tired to move a finger?

Well nope becasue the second he sees you in front of the stove he is screeching and then asking for your forgiveness for being so inattentive

There is a much sadder side to this though

Whenever Sebek feels like he didn't do something right he will correct himself, you are his God after all

But that is only what you know of

Even if it's something minor like accidentally missing a spot whilst washing dishes he will punish himself for that

Whether that is mentally, him telling himself that he is not worthy of being close to you, or physically, which I won't describe

And there is also him witnessing someone being “rude” (or rather what he understands under that term, we all have seen him and his devotion to Malleus) to you

All I can say is, it's probably at this point a very good thing that he is doing all the household chores because I wouldn't want to wash a former white shirt, now white

Him not exactly what we would call “doing good stuff” is of course also something that has it's marks on his mental state

But I guess what did we expect? He was raised for a good chunk of his childhood by Lilia and that man is a completely different beast in it's own

all the nocturnal faeries we’ve met have humanoid 1:1 form, while all the diurnal faeries as small as tinkerbell. so does it mean all diurnal fae are small and nocturnal fae are human like? but if there were twst versions of the three good faeries wouldn’t they be the diurnal-human-sized faeries or they could simply change their size? but if it’s the last then it means not every diurnal fae is capable of shape shifting since tinkerbell-like faeries can’t do that?

Mmm, it's hard to say. I feel like we as the player may have a limited point of view since the story of TWST focuses so much more on nocturnal fae than diurnal fae, so what we see may not be entirely accurate of both subspecies. Most nocturnal fae we meet are about the size of the average human. However, these humanoid forms may not be their "true" form, as we know that some species such as dragon fae are born as actual dragons rather than as human-like creatures. It's possible that they develop more human-like traits as they grow older OR that they are taught to manifest a more human-like form as they master their magic, but for now we don't have confirmation either way. In his Halloween voice lines, Malleus does mention that his tail is real, but that tail is not normally out in his other cards so this may imply the ability to shift their forms as they please. Most examples of diurnal fae we see are pixies, which are specified to be a small subspecies of fae. It's possible that there are other diurnal fae which are normal human sizes. For example, the Seven Dwarves are stated to be a type of fae, though it's not clear if they're nocturnal or diurnal. If they are diurnal (judging based solely on their appearances), then technically they ae human-sized... albeit closer to toddlers than adults. The Fairy Queen (from Fairy Gala) is a human-sized diurnal fae, so that's another exception to the size pattern. As far as we know though, she does not seem to show a smaller form so we could assume her default is the large one. The other diurnal fae I can think of are the guardian fairies (ie the closest thing we have to the "twisted" Three Good Fairies) that watched over Silver. We don’t get silhouettes of them, but we do see three balls of colored light floating around, so I have to assume they’re small? I have yet to see an example of shifting from diurnal fae, but I currently have no reason to suspect why they wouldn't be capable of it. Again, TWST centers a lot more on nocturnal fae than diurnal, so that shifts where the bulk of our knowledge lies. In Sleeping Beauty, the Three Good Fairies are capable of changing their sizes and appearances so it's very possible that diurnal fae can do the same. However, it's hard to know to what extent TWST borrows the powers and lore from its Disney inspirations. There's certainly nothing that says they couldn't though.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that the power to change one's size and looks probably varies based on fae subspecies and/or based on your power level? It could also potentially be an evolutionary divergence thing; nocturnal fae could have evolved to be larger because they are more inclined to darkness (which can house dangers they need to be able to intimidate or stand up against). Meanwhile, diurnal fae evolved to be smaller so they can better mingle and hide among nature's small nooks and crannies in broad daylight (where they can be more easily spotted).

♡ - Bf!Silver loves feeling like he can protect you from anything.

♡ - As you might know, Silver is one of Malleus’s Retainers, and he is always looking out for him, but on the days he isn’t or is just out with you instead, he loves just making sure that your okay and that if you need anything he is always right there

♡ - For Example, Bullies will never come to close to you now knowing that not only is your boyfriend a part of Diasomnia, but also he works under Malleus, that’s like asking for death if they come even close to you when he is around, but if you ever do get bullied by somebody who doesn’t know then as soon as Silver hears about this he is either 1. On his way to take care of the bully, or 2. Trying to find you to make sure that your okay and that you don’t need any medical attention like stat.

♡ - Now Silver also falls asleep a lot so normally when you come over to Diasomnia to find him he normally isn’t there and Lilia is already trying to find him, but when he sees you he face brightens up as you know most of the spots that he normally is asleep in, but if by chance you were with him when he falls asleep then good luck trying to get out of his arms if you have somewhere to be, we already know how buff that man is, so I guess your missing your Flight class again (just hope your grade doesn’t get as low as Azul’s..)<3
