Can someone give me their opinion on this thing I just wrote?
(REFLECTIONS)
What is it like?
What is it like to feel?
What does it feel like when your universe is one of the many stars in the sky?
…
There is a world.
There is a world full of light and love.
Self-worth
There is a universe that loves you.
…
_______
And there is a girl.
She wishes to stand amongst the stars.
To feel the light and warmth that radiates from the soulless flames that surrounds the youngling.
She wants to feel the breeze that follows a wind.
A wind that engulfs those flames.
_______
This is a young child.
They are far too young to realise what this world is like.
Yet they still did.
And so this child finds a new world,
Empty like the void that robbed her of her childhood.
But this void was not here to take,
Unlike the two that attempted to teach her to grow up.
This world is a kindness.
It is a world full of grass and love.
A world given empty, wanting to be filled.
And so she fills it.
The young child who dreams of stars fills this world.
They fill it with towns and villages,
love and life,
the things that they were robbed of.
Just because they couldn’t have something,
doesn’t mean that others couldn’t have it either.
Soon this world is full.
This world has life and love.
This world has so much that the child did not.
But it did not matter to them,
What mattered was that it was done.
Their piece was finished.
And so they were finished.
…
_______
But then they dreamed.
The child dreamed of more worlds, all lifeless.
Too many worlds.
The child wanted to fill them all, and so she gave it her best attempt.
But there were always more.
There were so many worlds.
This child lost their wish to fill these worlds,
resigning to a glassy beach,
it’s waves reflecting the infinite loneliness that they grew with,
dull light surrounding her once bright eyes.
She rests at an empty beach,
the stars always out of reach.
_______
“No,” the child whispered.
“I still want to make,” she cried.
“I still want to create loving worlds.”
“I still want to dream of the stars.”
“I don’t want to rest,” the girl went on. “I want to continue these worlds.”
“And I want to fill it all with love,”
“And I don’t want to leave anything soulless.”
“These worlds don’t deserve their emptiness.” she said.
“Nothing deserves to be left without love,”
“And nothing deserves a fate with which they are alone.”
_______
And so the girl got up once more,
and the girl found another world to start.
The girl chose to not complete all of the worlds,
but filled those with which she found.
The girl continued to fill the void,
finding others who might wish to help.
They too wanted to create beauty out of the senseless skies,
creating constellations of the composed worlds.
They wanted the beauty to be seen by many,
To show everyone what would happen,
What would happen if they just tried.
Soon the void of the sky was filled with the girl’s dreams,
And she stood in the skies.
The girl stood with her stars,
And a smile made its way to her face.
What did it feel like?
It felt like a warm embrace,
Like a breeze that was left behind,
A breeze that lost its way from a howling gale.
The girl had taken her dreams and made them real.
She dreamt of worlds with hierarchies,
Oceans with peril in its depths,
Stars that danced with the girl,
Worlds that were deep forests filled with trees that were never found outside,
Outside of her dreams.
_______
But nothing ever lasts,
and the worlds soon turned rotten.
Not many people could see the girl,
Those who couldn’t see chose to ignore the one who breathed life into them.
Those that could see pretended not to.
They pretended that she wasn’t there.
They chose to fight.
They chose to hurt the worlds she’d made.
Forced back the once thriving oceans,
Killed the stars that twinkled with dance,
Burned down the dark forests that held her lives.
Despite her attempts,
Despite all of her broken worlds of past attempts,
Every person that she’d made was broken.
And the girl was heartbroken.
Because if she was so broken that she couldn’t understand others,
Then what could she do?
The girl chose to leave.
The girl left her dance with the stars.
She made one last world to reside in,
A glassy beach with waves that reflected the loneliness that she’d caused.
And there she stood in solitude.
Thinking.
And thinking.
And standing.
And withering.
And dying.
And then she no longer held notice to her dreams.
The girl could no longer see her dreams.
_______
And there was a girl.
There used to be a young child who yearned to reach the stars,
to dance amongst the dust in the swirling voids that surrounded her.
There was a child who wished for a million worlds to hold her love.
And the worlds were beautiful.
The worlds were nature’s greatest feat,
Glittering the skies in all of its glory.
But now it’s all gone.
The worlds that had been made were now ashes,
And the warm breezes were gone.
The people who wanted to help the beauty had moved on,
Leaving behind shells in those worlds.
All that was here now was ash,
The ashes of a million dead dreams.
All that stayed was the ashy beach that held the girl.
Sometimes she would leave,
Sometimes, before the worlds had died,
She had to go.
She never wanted to, but she still did.
She still left her dreams to rot.
And now they are rotten with sin and despair.
The loss of those worlds were a stinging mistake that haunted the girl.
She stood in nothingness.
Her dreams were no longer here.
They were dead.
And it was because she’d shown neglect,
just like the voids that raised her.
The things that she’d sworn to never be.
It was these thoughts that swirled in her mind,
the reflections of the water not even bothering anymore.
Everything was broken, and-
“Stop.”
Ev- “STOP IT.”
...
“It’s not all broken,” the girl breathed.
“I can learn to fix this universe”
Yet this universe was not only broken,
But it was desolate.
“And I can fill it with life again.”
But the life would break once more,
And everything would die agai-
“I SAID TO STOP IT.”
The girl breathed harshly,
And moved to speak again.
“I don’t care how long it will take me.
I don’t care if these worlds will die over time.
But this is something that I want.”
“I want to make stars that can dream,
Oceans that will tremble,
Universes that dance,
Forests that give comfort,
And worlds that will live on in beauty and love.”
“And I don’t care how many times that I’ll have to do this,
Because if I can make a universe that loves you as much as it has loved me,
Then I will be satisfied.”
“And if I cannot make a universe that so loves you,
Then I will be your new universe, and tell you that I love you dearly”
And so the girl stood up,
And the girl vanished.
And the stars were dancing back in the sky,
And the seas trembled with compassion,
And the forests welcomed their shade,
And the universe loved.
The universe loved you.
