funniest thing in my art class was presenting my sculpture and hearing the critiques while internally thinking like "um youre misgendering this object here by using he/him... you see it's actually based off of a shadow that uses she/they pronouns" like god i felt so stupid i couldnt say anyhting

Okay it's my first attempt at a ttte oc so I'd like to explain the design process and what went into her design :>
Tumblr media
Since Atta and Percy are friends I wanted her to complement him so I made her a cool, almost mint green and royal blue to his bright green and red. The cooler palette fits her soft personality & looks pleasing to me. I also made her skin and lips darker since in my lore she is blackcoded and tbh, it looks so good with her livery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The nameplate contrasts the green and adds a bit of elegance. It also foreshadows her encounter with Lady. Her class basis is the ALCO S-Class. I kept the blue because it works really well with her green paint and adds to her elegance. All I did was darkened it with linear burn. Her freckles represent the 12 NWR engines.
Tumblr media
I also made a mockup of Atta working on the magic railroad. It's not great but it gets the point across. As for her face I combined Flora the tram. and Nia. Doing small alterations and painting to make sure she looks different and not just have Nia's face slapped on and calling it a day.
Alright time for story: it pisses me OFF how the diesels were the oppressed class but villainized for fighting back/wanting a better workshop. And of the good diesels Salty and Mavis weren't even main characters. Like the diesels are implied to be too weakwilled to question D10 (who gets woobified ew) and it felt like it justified the Island's poor treatment of them. And the plot is supposed to be about the Diesels but they get overshadowed by the new steam engines. Cuz Steam Good Diesel BAD apparently 😒 So I thought it makes sense for one of the new diesels engine to be in the good guys side, who isn't a prop nor a lackey of Diesel 10. So that's how Atta came to be.
The story I have is Atta is a shy awkward diesel who befriends Percy, she wants to tell Sir Haty about the Dieselworks but doubts herself and is afraid of Diesel 10. When Percy is in danger Atta sets aside her fears to do what's right eventually she gets a spot on the S&R team. She's also a foil for D10: whereas he relies on aggression and brute force she relies on soeed and agility. And where Diesel 10 only cares about his selfish ambitions & threatens his lackeys, Atta genuinely cares for diesels. Her radical kindness saves the day!
Overall I had so much fun designing her. Is it perfect? No. And it doesn't need to be.

I decided to make a profile for my OC, which I changed more things than I thought I would. Also because I can't find my Wacom pen and I was bored.
(by the way, this child is a carbon copy of me but cuter so-)
Name: Yuu Lupine (Very much a fake name)
Grade/Class: 1-A
Birthday: 3/10 (Pisces)
Age: 16 (?)
Hight: 163 (Looks smaller than/as tall as Riddle because of posture)
Dominant hand: Right
Homeland: The World Beyond The Mirror
Club: Board Games. Can't go sometimes because they work at Sam's.
Best Subject: Magical History
Hobby: Sleeping and drawing
Dislikes: Betrayers/surprises
Favorite food: Salmon/ikura
Least favorite food: Depends on the mood
Talents: Fast reading skills
Main Base: Mickey and all the people who wandered into a foreign place. (Same as Yuu, basically)
Sub Base: Loki, Mulan, Gogo, Edna (will add more if felt like it/some are taken what I assume canonically)
Black Butler Base (similarity): Sascha and Othello
Magic: No, but actually yes.
Idia did make something for them to have the ability to use magic. Based on Loki's staff, it holds a magical artifact inside. Blot will work the same; basically magic pen, but not pen. Only uses it sometimes, to prevent overblots.
Rollo comes in later and he dislikes it a lot.
Doesn't tell a few people, for some reason.
~~~~
Lv up 1: ...What is this "level up" for-
Lv up 2: I wonder if I can get stronger...
Lv up 3: Maybe I can be strong in this world...
Card lv max: Wait, hold up, I'm pretty sure this isn't magic. What do I need this for!? Well, they do say "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
Episode lv up: Freinds are cool... I can't explain it, but it feels kind of nice and warm inside... Sorry, that was embarrassing, pretend I said nothing. We should have tea some time to talk again.
Lesson 1: You should let me follow you to class, I don't know where I'm supposed to go.
Lesson 2: Ditching class is an option, you know. I mean I think it's good for us to go to class though.
Lesson 3: Wait we have a quiz?
Lesson start: Let's get this over with.
Lesson End: I think I want to have a snack now.
Battle start: I can't use magic... Let me just cheer you, people, on.
Also, friends with my other OC, Sice (Mob who was friends with Riddle for a short period of time).
~~~
Anyways my other OCs are:
Since- number 6 of the Hearts dorm. He's based off of Doll. NRC
Bishop Hunt: Twin of Rook, very opposite lore. RSA
There are 2 or 3 OCs for the movie "Frozen". Elsa boy is very powerful bc of his UM being similar to Trey's
Might post some art of them in the future?

#1 Day of asking random shit to blogs I follow because I can and I want to + boredom
Do you have any Undertale OCs and/or your own Undertale AU? If you do, can you explain the lore? :]
I'm more of an AU rewriter actually. I'm taking popular AUs and try to make them more realistic and mature (and more political, I love the Underground politics, that's like my favorite subject).
So far, I'm working on Horrortale with my fanfiction Horrortale : Rotten Apple, which is actually more of a pre-Horrortale fanfiction, since I'm working on the events between when Frisk left the Underground and the famine. So far, it's like 20 chapters and Undyne is still not queen. I want her coup d'état to be violent and the result of months and months of bad decisions, not only her bad decisions, but also Toriel's ones as a ruler. Toriel is not a bad ruler at all, but she is impopular because of her exil in the Ruins and the fact that despite Asgore's death, who was loved by the Underground, she did nothing to prevent something like that to happen again. Undyne being the one Asgore's trained, monsters will slowly turn their back to Toriel, which will have consequences on other characters like Sans, Papyrus, Flowey or Grillby. Frisk is not the one responsible for all this either, as they are trying to save monsterkind in a world where adults don't believe them at all. That's a really difficult story to write, but I'm having so much fun with it.
The second one is Underfell, with my fanfiction No Weakness. It's a Papyrus centric fanfiction that takes place after a pacifist route. Since there's no reason for Asgore to let Frisk live, Frisk is actually still Underground, living the best life with Toriel, and protected by a pact formed by Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Mettaton and Alphys. The kid must stay a secret. But after some months, Papyrus is doubting the plan, as not only they could all be executed if something goes wrong, but there's also the problem of Frisk becoming more independant and asking more and more questions, and worse, taking Papyrus as an exemple, which he absolutely doesn't want because he is ashame of what he has to do every day to survive. No Weakness is also about Undyne, who suddenly starts to act strange, which worried Papyrus, until one day, she left the guard. Papyrus is quite distressed and doesn't understand until Asgore announces his soon to come wedding with her on live TV. The only problem being that Papyrus knows Undyne hates him with all of her soul, and that she is not there willingly. But Papyrus is also the general of the royal guard now, and as a general, you shut up and close your eyes on a lot of things. But Papyrus is really not sure he can do that.
The last one is the most close from an AU I guess, it's What is best for humankind. It's a war AU, focusing on Sans and Papyrus childhood. It's an AU because they are a lot younger in the games, so they couldn't live through the war, but I tried to make it coherent. Sans and Papyrus are forced to run away from their village one night, as humans are attacking. Gaster, their dad, being forced to fight, left them escape alone. Sans will have to protect his brother, and soon, a very small Undyne and a human through the devastated lands leading to Mount Ebott. It's both a survival story and a dramatic story as Sans will have to do and witness things he never should have, and face the betrayal of the only person who is supposed to keep him safe, his own father. Because this AU main story is about what being a judge means. In this world, the royal judge is not a job, it's a very rare class of monsters like boss monsters are. Judge monsters are very low HP monsters that can use karma magic, which is the same magic Sans use in his genocide battle in the game. During the war, the Judges, mainly pacifist, all died during the talks for a peace treaty, as the humans saw an opportunity to get rid of them all at once. The only problem being the magic the Judge develop can only activate if the Judge is traumatised and presents a abnormal level of determination. Sans is the only one left, he is not activated, and Gaster wants him to basically explodes in rage in the human castle to kill the Emperor. For this, he knows there's one solution that will sure piss him off enough: killing Papyrus. But Gaster is also the only one who is sure this plan will work, as both Toriel and Asgore are horrified by the idea. To stop the war, how far all of them are willing to go? That's the main story!
My last AU is a more classic one, it's a Sans x Reader fanfiction in a post-pacifist universe, Remember the good days. However, Sans is not exactly himself as he suffers terrible memory loss after a tragic attack during one of Frisk's speech. It's getting worse and worse as Sans is not enough stimulated with Papyrus in college. But Papyrus has a plan. He wants you to stimulate Sans, and he is even willing to pay for that. Surely he told Sans everything before hand and Sans won't hate you at all for this. ... Right?

I maybe taking you up on that offer 😅
I've been meaning to get into it for awhile but just never have (my cousins were supposed to teach me but they still haven't 😭)
Rn the only actual question i can come up with is that do the thingys that Edgeshot is not have pupils? I didn't notice it at first but when i saw the second post about it and the purple one i noticed it!
Thanks
Bread
Yes!! Thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about this hehe
For your question, tieflings indeed do not have pupils! (Well, by default they don't. It depends on the design ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) They're mortal humanoids with demonic blood, so they have some demonic characteristics—they can also see in the dark! There's more you can read about them here if you're interested. Here's also some links to the other available races and classes. DND Beyond is a really good resource :)
Now I'm gonna use this ask as an excuse to explain some other stuff, don't mind me— There's a whole bunch of lore and stuff that I don't know and couldn't possibly fit into a single post, so I'll just stick to the mechanics. If I get anything wrong though, please correct me (• ▽ •;)
Like I said before, I'm a pretty new and inexperienced player so I can only really explain the basics and what I know, which is basically just how the dice work :') but I'll still try my best!! Teaching is also a good way of learning, right? :D
(=^・ェ・^=)
Let's start with making your character
It's almost like making a normal OC. You pick a race and a class. (Race is pretty self explanatory. Class determines a character's abilities—whether they rely on magic or melee, what their best stats are, etc. Again, DND Beyond is a good resource if you don't know where to begin!)
(***It should be noted that even though these are fantasy races, they're still relevant to real life cultures and they may have some racist, xenophobic, or otherwise insensitive undertones (ex. orcs, goblins...). It's worth taking into consideration ^^ )
From there, you roll for your abilities (which I'll explain with the dice), and you can put together your character's backstory and description! Describe your character's physical appearance, their alignment, their personality type, and come up with as much backstory as you think suits them. Don't be afraid to ask questions or go extravagant!
(This may or may not mean knowing some of the world lore. It might be a little difficult to navigate if you have no idea where to start, so I suggest snooping around the wikis. Watching/listening to youtube campaigns is also a good way to learn the lore. Be warned that sessions can run for several hours, though!! My friends recommend Fantasy High by Dimension 20 for beginners—the episodes are no longer than 2 hours. If you have access to Prime Video, Vox Machine is also very entertaining (though it's an animated show based on a campaign, so it's more focused on the story and characters than the game itself. It's nice to get the vibe though, and it's also just really entertaining!!))
Ideally, your Dungeon Master would be walking through all this with you. If you have any concerns, the DM is the person to ask! Different DMs also go by different house rules and not all worlds are the same, so it's a good idea to run anything by them to make sure they accept it for their campaign :)
Most of the game is roleplay, so you actually act as your character during the game! (Verbal roleplay, btw—it's less visual and a lot of imagination) You can make up a voice for your character and make them interact with the world around them any way you like. It's all improv, so don't be afraid to let loose! (Just make sure the DM is okay with your actions)
Now for the dice part 🎲
There are seven types of dice that are used in DND: d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and percentile dice. The number refers to how many sides the die has (d6 has six sides, d10 has ten, etc.); the percentile dice has ten sides marked from 00 to 90.
When you roll for your abilities, you use three d6 dice (or you can roll one d6 three times and add them up). You'll roll for each of the basic ability scores (strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma) for your character, which will give you a number between 3 and 18 for those stats. Refer to your character's class to see which of their stats should be highest.
For the actual game, you'll probably use the d20 most often. If there's ever a point where you're making an attempt at an action (like sneaking around or lying to someone or even making an attack), you'll roll a d20 to make an ability check. You'll also use a d20 for any saving throws—which are rolls to try and save your character from something bad happening to them. Your DM will already have a DC (difficulty challenge) which is the minimum number you need to roll for your action to be successful.
The d4, d6, d8, d10, and d12 are all used to measure damage and healing amounts. I'd explain further, but I'm afraid this is a gap in my knowledge (I'm sorry!!) This site has some decent explanations, though!
Score calculations is where the game gets a bit complicated—
You might have heard people say they rolled a natural (nat) number or an unnatural/"dirty" number. A natural number is the number the dice gives you when you roll. (For example, if I roll a d20 and get a 14, I rolled a nat14.) If you add a modifier to that score, the number then becomes unnatural, or some people call it dirty. (Example: I roll a nat14 but my modifier is +2, so I have an unnatural 16.)
The scores you get for your abilities determine the modifiers for your character. Essentially, the higher your character scored for their abilities, the better they will perform in the game. It's something like this:
Tumblr media
(source: DND Beyond)
Your character also gets proficiency points as they level up. Those can be added onto ability checks, saving throws, and attack rolls. There's some other stuff that goes into proficiency bonuses, but I'm not nearly knowledgeable or qualified enough to explain it so I'll drop another link here that hopefully does a better job 😅
... Yeah that was a lot more words than I was anticipating to write for this.
(Special thanks to my friend who proofread this for me <3)
There's a lot of stuff that I still don't understand and world lore that I don't know, but I hope this still helps!! I know it's a whole lot of information; there's absolutely no pressure to remember all of it!! It's easier to learn once you're actually playing a game. (If it helps, the way I got started is I sorta just jumped in and hoped for the best lol)

I kept having brainrots about my Hogwarts Mystery oc, Arawyn Anderson, which brought me back to the game which led me to do this since I return to what I dubbed “the chaotic year” AKA the 5th year where several things happen in the game.
And I thought “You know what else would be funny ? adding problems to your oc through the power of backstory, author and artist privileges.”
And I did. Which is listed in the first part of my doodle but not everything will be explained here.
So first thing in the list: active dragon blood.
I have already mentioned in previous and an old post that Arwayn had dragon blood in her veins. A specific blood that has been given by the ancient dragon Elmyr and old friend of Morgana le Fay, one of the most reknown sorceress in history and tales/fairy tales depending if you are a muggle or wizard. But the wise dragon had given his blood to Arawyn because he recognized her as he scent her blood, the blood of Morgana, the blood of his only friend.
He also did this because this was the only way to save a 8 year old Arwayn from death after she was attacked by R’s henchmen who only wanted to kidnap her so that Jacob could take their threats very seriously but also so they can advance in their plans.
(Let it be known that those who dare to do this instead of waiting like they were suppose to quickly regret it when they returned to the HQ. A very angry papa Anderson was awaiting them)
Now Arawyn had never have a problem with the dragon blood, she adapted to it rather quickly thanks to the advice of her family therapist which Elmyr found weird but he put it aside because he doesn’t know how much magic changed since the era of Arthur and his knights. He had kept his worries aside until his blood started to cause problems to Arawyn at the beginning of the summer vacation between her fourth and fifth year. Problems being her whole body being in pain and reaching a temperature that a human body isn’t suppose to have.
This time the therapist couldn’t help so Elmyr took the 15 year old teenager under its wings so that he could understand what was happening or at least helping her to have enough control on of the dragon blood and her body so that she can return safely to Hogwarts for her exam year.
Next thing is another problem Arawyn deals with and this one does not please her at all: her wands (yes plural) keep breaking.
In game, Rakepick is the one to break MC wand as a warning but not in Arawyn’s lore. Her (first) wand broke during a class with Flitwick to learn new spells. After studying the method and the theoritical part, she was about to practise the spell but the moment she pronounce the spell, the unthinkable happen, her first wand, which should have been the only, broke.
This is an event that sent her down into a spiral of negative thoughts and she couldn’t stop thinking about Jacob, his wand who broke too and all the bad things that has been said about him or her family. She was so shock that she hasn’t notice that she had been brought to her dorm with the help of Flitwick and Rowan. She only come back to her senses in the night, hot chocolate in hand, her baby crup sleeping on her lap and her Ravenclaw’s friends sleeping around her after they had passed the whole day at her side, trying to bring her comfort.
Knowing if she got up or move they’ll woke up, Arawyn had decided to stay with them as she was still surprised by the fact a wizard most important magical artefact broke in front of her class. Arwayn wasn’t ready to see anybody as she knew that anything happening to her or related to her could spread like a wildfire.
The next full rest day she got, Flitwick himself accompanied her to Ollivander’s shop so that she can chose her new wand. Surprise for them: Ollivander was awaiting them with at least 9 wands for Arawyn that he gave her as soon as she entered shop. Arawyn exchanged a look with the head of her house and asked  what she’s suppose to do with al these wands.
“News about you travels fast, miss Anderson. But I truly understood the situation when I received a letter from Dumbledore then your friends with the details of how your accident happened. I have a theory about why it happened but for that I need you to take these with you and, unfortunately, have them to suffer the same fate.”
“By same fate, you don’t mean... Have these magical wands that cost a little fortune to break when I’m about to use a spell, do you ?”
“I’m afraid this is what needs to happen. If they all are broken before the end of your school year, please, do contact me as soon as you can. But I cannot explain it to you until I am sure that my theory is correct. And this is the fastest way to know it.”
Arawyn returns to Hogwarts as confused and lost than Professor Flitwick or than the curse breaker squad after she tells them what happened. Although, she did asked for multiple therapy session each time a wand broke.
(Spoiler ahead: Arawyn only broke 7 of these wands this way by the end of the year: the fifth of the nine that Ollivander gave her was broken by Rakepick which earned her to be launched physically at a wall by Arwayn and the seventh was broken has she prepared to protect herself from the claw of the dragon guarding the vault of the cursed portrait.)
Cursed vaults + Rakepick + Reckless friends
This is the last thing I will talk about in this post because they are all linked to the second image on this post: Merula freaking out over Arawyn’s lesson during a flying lesson.
Merula cannot simply believe what is happening and what she hears especially after they both saw Beatrice being prisoner of a portrait which could only mean one thing: another curse coming from the vaults has been released on Hogwarts and the first victim was a first year and Penny little sister. Which should have driven her rival even harder to find the fourth cursed vault as this one must hit too close for Arawyn.
And yet, here is she, hearing her rival affirming the opposite of what Merula thought she would do. The slytherin girl tries to understand what led Arawyn to take the decision of “take a break from cursed breaking adventures” as she said.
Was Anderson more affected by all the previous fights and curses than we thought ? Did her relation with her family went south because she searched for the vault ? Did R do something to her ? Did R actually come to confront personally Anderson and threatened her seriouly ? etc, etc...
All of these thoughts push Merula for the first time to summon a curse breaking squad reunion in Madam’s Rosmerta pub/bar/inn and inviting everyone so that she can adress the situation directly. And who knows ? Maybe having her friends around her will make Arawyn crack under the pressure.
But her plan... successfully failed because Arawyn is honest with all of them: she’s tired in a way that she can’t describe it because herself she doesn’t understand it. There’s also the fact that everyone keeps seeing her as Jacob’s little sister which she is but the way she kept hearing it, it irked her so for once and only time in a year at Hogwarts she wants to do something different than her brother: live a supposedly normal year in magic school like they were all suppose to if it wasn’t for these damn vaults.
It makes sense to Merula but then Arawyn drop her last reason which kinda makes Merula see red.
“There’s also Rakepick to take into consideration.”
“What do you mean by that Anderson ? We should seize this chance to have the most powerful curse breaker as a DADA teacher to learn as much as we can and use her knowledge to find the vault and the curse then we can have our peaceful year.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree with Merula. Rakepick is our best shot to save Beatrice and your brother. You haven’t seen him since 5 years, Arawyn. Or all the others students that might get trapped in a portrait.”
“Penny, I understand your feelings. But there’s a difference between saving people and walk into danger without a plan which you sound like you are about to do.” Arawyn sighed before to correct herself “What I mean is Rakepick’s playing on the long term plan, the patience game and the emotional game. All at the same time. Patience because she had waited for Dumbledore to invite her back at Hogwarts for investigating the vaults and stop their curse when she could have herself written a letter to him. Long term plan game because she knows that some of you are interested in curse breaking or dark arts or how to protect themselves from it. And she’s the one holding the knowledge so you are all going to walk in the palm of her hands which will make you trust her. But... Judging by how some of you is looking at me, she already had gained it. Which brings me to the third... game. If you trust her then without knowing it, you will expose her more weakness, more information about your friends, your family and she will use it at her advantage.”
“What for ?” asked Barnaby
“At minimal ? Drive a ledge between us. Worst case scenario ? An open fight between us where we would be hostile with each other, where we would be no more friends and when Rakepick eventually betray us, none of us will admit who was in the right and who was in the wrong.” answered instead Tulip but Arawyn nodded.
So you can already what happens next: The Verbal argument of Year 5 between the squad but sooner than canon and in a different place. Since they were in a place open to public and in Hogsmeade and that multiple Hogwarts students goes there, the teachers hears about it especially Rakepick who realizes that Arawyn has her figure out despite the small amount of information she has. So what was suppose to be a silent, cold, sassy and smirky war between Rakepick and Arawyn turned out to be an open, calculate and dangerous war, one that the other teachers doesn’t dare to step in except Flitwick because he cares for his student. And he can clearly see that this open fight takes a toll on Arawyn mental state.
Most of her friends doesn’t realize it but they became distant with her just like she said because of this fight too. And since she isn’t there to give them a plan they get into dangerous situation quite often. But Arawyn still tries to protect them and Bill help her because he gets it.
To summarize we have:
Arawyn, Bill, Rowan, Barnaby, Flitwick who are respectfully trying to parent, co-parent this disastrous situtation but also to be direct moral support.
The pro Rakepick: Charlie, Merula, Ismelda and Penny
The Anti-Rakepick: Ben, Tulip, Snape (surprise, surprise),and sometimes Arawyn, joined by Rowan too
The “we’re watching this drama happening” trio: Jae, Tonks and Talbott
The “Let’s forget the cursed vaults/problems for a day or two” gang: Chiara, Diego, Hagrid, Dumbledore, Matthias Pendragon (Arawyn’s cousin), Murphy, professor Kettleburn, Andre, Badeea

1. Your first OC ever?
12. Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot
19. Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why)
23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?
24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?
25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?)
41. Has anyone drawn fanart of your OCs? If yes, maybe show a picture or two here (remember sources & permissions!)
1. Your first OC ever?
Tbh I don't remember my very first OC because that was when I was in my teenage years, but the first newer one that I actually drew is Honey! I drew her when I was getting back into art after I said fuck it because my high school art teacher was a pompous dickhead creep that yelled at me in front of everyone for starting to paint on accident instead of doing another step. I was supposed to have her be my Among Us OC with her last name being Pot and how she's frenemies with Pink Crewmate (and she knows who she is 💀). I should redraw her sometime!
Tumblr media
12. Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot.
ALMIRA "I WILL CUT A BITCH" NERI. I'M A RIDE OR DIE BITCH FOR HER. Like, her design is BEAUTIFUL. I love her lore! It's thorough as fuck and there's other original characters she interacts with that I have yet to know about. And I can do some world-building to intersect her lore and Dji'Vanah's lore!
I ADORE Sarai and Vampy OC from @luciferokisses! You have no IDEA how I had to BEG, PLEAD, CRY, AND THREATEN TO BREAK INTO HER HOUSE TO GET THEM OUT OF THE GODDAMN BASEMENT JUST TO EVEN LOOK AT THEM.
The pink-haired magical girl and the devilishly handsome catboy Otto by @princesseblade are faves of mine too. Especially Otto. I'd willingly let him ruin my credit score. I miss his fine ass. I'm really contemplating on begging and sobbing that I can commission her just to see Otto again 😭 And tbh, if she was okay with it, I'd just like to imagine shipping Otto with my other OC Taa-Laa.
19. Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why).
My Mortal Kombat OC Dji'Vanah! Long story short, she's an Outworld assassin that out-classes Kitana, Jade, and Skarlet combined. She goes on a quest for vengance after the Brotherhood of Sin pilaged her home and killed her loved ones. She meets Hanzo and teams up with him on multiple missions before they fall in love! Dji'Vanah's important to me because even though Mortal Kombat and its characters and settings are already established, I really expanded my mind in worldbuilding. What are other regions of Outworld? Do they exist? Who are the citizens? What powers do they have? Did they get taken over by Shao Kahn? What of other factions? What about their cultures? There's so many questions that won't get answered unless you make them. And she's so well-designed that every single artist made her BEAUTIFUL and her hair is versitile! 24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?
Not gonna lie, I'd wanna meet my Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart. Girl's a bad bitch but she's really just a softie that just wants to be protected. I'd ask for about art and ask her to teach me how to paint and self-defense. I'd also ask her if she can find somebody to hook me up with 💀
23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?
My Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart. At first, she was an un-named OC that was just a mere museum tour guide getting a bite to eat after work. She ends up meeting Carlos Oliveira after he saved her life. She's scared shitless but sticks with him and survives using his advice of survival tactics before they end up separating. The OC was on a train to leave before Carlos and Jill meet until shit popped off due to Nemesis fucking around. The OC then comes across a little girl (like how Sherry and Claire meet) and protects her from her parents that got infected from saving their child. The OC takes the girl with her and they survive by hot wiring a nice car and dipping about twenty minutes before the nuke is launched. The OC pretty much adopts the girl and they go back to living at her parents for the time being after having to travel almost across the country to get there. Then like two years later, after Carlos pinky-promised he wouldn't leave the OC in a cold, cruel, Carlos-less world, he coincidentally meets the OC and the kid after trying to lay low from what happened in Raccoon City. Then they really can delve in their feelings for each other. And all that got scrapped for what I got with Christie 💀
25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?).
Christie resembles me more in the creative aspect. She LOVES doing art in many forms. It's just so much fun! 🥺
41. Has anyone drawn fanart of your OCs? If yes, maybe show a picture or two here (remember sources & permissions!)
YES. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YES. But they're mostly commissions! I'll be putting the credit for the artists right above the art pieces to lessen the confusion!
This was a Christmas gift commission from my backbone @ghastlyrider that was made by @minilev!

These were made by @/Fruit_Succubus on Twitter! The first one is my Mortal Kombat OC Dji'Vanah with Hanzo Hasashi and the second one is my Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart with Chris Redfield! 💖💕

The last one is of Christie that was a birthday gift from @ghastlyrider and was made by @/AndyVurm on Twitter! 💖💕

Before I go into my last week of work, I’d like to rant here about certain things I have seen in the FFXIV community that make me think twice about starting the game these days.
I understand some of you have come to the game very recently and have, perhaps, taken ideas with you from other MMOs you have frequented. But please, take the following into account.
1) Casual players exist. We probably put more money into the game than we have time to play it. This does not mean we are allowed to tell you ‘you didn’t pay our subs’, but it also does not mean you have to belittle us for being behind. I’ve had too many people ask me ‘why’ I haven’t done certain things yet, and apparently having limited time because of out of game responsibilities or issues is not a reason to not have done things or not doing things in game. I’m sorry if my way of life puzzles anyone, but please don’t be a jackass about things like this? I’d hope I am still allowed to enjoy the game the way I am able to enjoy it, just like you are allowed to enjoy it the way you enjoy it. Please don’t put your speedy standards onto me and other people that cannot afford that type of gameplay.
2) I’ve been accused of boosting for just having characters past lvl 70 on my main. I suppose it should not bother me, but the word boosting is usually used to say ‘you’re this high in level and ‘clearly’ don’t know how to play it, so you must’ve thrown real life money at it’. Listen, I’ve been here since 2014. I slowly level my classes and jobs myself. It’s not fast, but it’s how I do things, and to then hear I’ve boosted? These people have no idea how long I’ve worked on these. It bothers me, yeah, not going to lie. I had heard of other people getting accused of boosting before, and now I’m one of ‘m. Go figure. And usually it’s by people that haven’t even been playing the game all that long, as if they assume everyone has just started playing FFXIV in the last few months. Listen, darlings, I’m not going to be gratious about it, get your heads out of your own asses. FFXIV has existed for a long time now, some of us have even been with us since 1.0. Don’t go being a dick because that’s just how your head seems to work. People lvl in their own ways, in their own time. Yeah, sure, you might be higher level in a lot of things compared to certain players that have been living in this game a lot longer, but that doesn’t mean you have any authority to belittle them even a little bit.
3) Raiders, please stop telling new players it is ok to judge others that don’t meld materia. I’m sick of it. I’m not going to be in your little Raid squad, ok. Hells, I’m probably selling you my materia as we speak. Again, wtf. Get off your high-bird. If you see someone not having best in slot in your raid group and it bothers you... talk. You have a chat function, you can talk and explain, maybe even help them. But don’t tell others to go about cities and pull their nose up because someone is running around without any materia melded. Any time I log into the game, there’s some new gear meta. You think I’d put time into melding because of you? Please..
4) ... Since ShB I thought it was pretty clear that there could be multiple Warriors of Light. That it’s basically just a title for people with the Echo awakened, ‘chosen’ by Hydaelyn, that are willing to fight for what is right. I am aware there are groups within the RP community that still take the stance that you should not create a WoL OC, that it’s a bad premise for a character. There are even groups teaching this to young impressionable roleplayers. Now, I understood where they were coming from originally. There was no real lore allowing for multiple WoL at the time. Only the player character - and by extend the original player character party of 1.0- was given the title at the start. Even Ysayle was only called ‘a chosen’. However, I don’t see why people would have to hold back creating their own WoL after the reveal in ShB. Perhaps this is a difference in vision on the matter. Perhaps they mean they don’t want people creating their version of Azem. But even that... ... Listen, I get it. And yet... genuinly people that roleplay... are able to bend a knee a little. They might have their WoL, find people that want to play with them as Azem’s counterpart on the Source, they might even find people with their own WoL that want to roleplay with them. And. Make. It. Work. And if they want to play with you but you have this strict ‘no WoL’ rule, know what? They can adapt if they really want to, saying they are basically like Arenvald or any other of the Scions. That’s all very possible. But please... teaching someone about RP does not mean you should actively discourage people from RP’ing. A lot of us have worries about our characters. My first draft of Ayo’a was pretty bland because of a lot of RP rules I saw floating about online - I’m not going to sugarcoat it. You can’t do this, you can’t be that... In the end, the important thing is that you have fun, let’s agree on that. If your idea of fun is different than that of the person you are trying to teach or RP with... then you’re probably not a match for RP to begin with. I would rather see my friends happy with the OCs they’ve lovingly crafted but just so happen to be WoL, than that they feel forced to create OCs that aren’t what they wanted just to fit the narrative of only one part of the community.
Casual players are welcome Hardcore players are welcome Warriors of Light are welcome That said, NPC players are welcome too and please get off my arse

Hazbin Hotel Universe x RWBY character cross over, as well as some fictional elements that are unique to my own story that's similar in theme but older than Hazbin's public appearance.
Short Bio and Headcanons:
Qrow Branwen.
He's polygamous: (Mainly because I like to keep my mind open to various ships, as well as I'd like to continue my main OTP which is between him and my main OC.)
Raven is there as well, but they absolutely hate eachother, they just tolerate eachother's existence for the sake of professionalism, as they work together as bounty hunters on a team.
-Qrow's favorite thing ever is Nutty Buddies, this is relevant because one time Raven stole one, and Qrow legitimately Bitch slapped her over it. DON'T FUCK WITH HIS NUTTY BUDDIES DAMMIT! XD
Qrow may have a thing for goth chicks, considering his two current relationships are with a girl who can also turn into a bird named Aero, who wears goth/punk asthetic. (Friend's OC.) And another girl named Texas, who is big tiddied, hellhound, goth gf. (My OC.) No boyfriends yet, unless Tex technically counts because she's a hermaphrodite, but I plan on changing that soon. (Laughs evily.)
Qrow plays Dungeons and Dragons: Qrow plays as a light purple tiefling named Intiko (Indigo in Tamil) who is a home brew class known as escort. (Weaponized male prostitute.) Raven plays as Intiko's twin sister who is a Dark purple Tiefling, named Aristarus, Aris for short, a complete mad lad and agent of chaos who is a warlock.
So any of you who've heard of Hazbin Hotel knows that the story takes place in Hell. So why is Qrow there?
Qrow is part of a bounty team that was sent out to hell from a limbo like region that's lore from a comic I wrote some years back. He is dead, and how he died was rather heroic in nature. It takes place after the events of volume 6 where Qrow decides to quit drinking, however he doesn't quit in time, and slowly over time he has been dying of liver failure. Eventually he would be relaxing in his death bed, spending what little time he had left with Yang and Ruby, only for the hospital they were staying in to be attacked by Tyrian. Qrow tries the best to hold him off to the best of his ability, and Ruby and Yang try to help him, but he tells them to leave, he's going to die anyways, might as well die a hero, by his own words, and so he dies trying to defend against Tyrian in a sickly state.
He'd find himself in the afterlife, unsure of exactly what to do with himself, and so he decides to take on training courses to become a bounty hunter, where he ends up joining a team of bounty hunters that he happens to share with Raven. (I might make a post in the future explaining how she died, but for now, here's this.)
The art below is mine. The first piece ties close into his original design but with some more elegant features such as lace leggings underneath, and lace gloves, plus I gave him black finger nails, because yes. I also changed his cape design a little to also be a bit more thrilly in nature. Gave him ear piercings because yes, and flipped the cross upside down because why not??? The last two designs are more for formal days, the turtleneck being because I saw someone else draw him in a turtleneck, (I can't remember their name, but I'll look around for them and credit them.) And so I put my own spin on the turtle neck. It was supposed to be a black velvet, but I didn't do it very well. TwT. The second design taking a more elegent approach, especially with the corset esque midsection. Fucking hell yes. And the over all use in both pieces of knee high boots. UwU. Also I have a soft spot for sunglasses so I'd figured I'd see what he looks like in them, and let me just say. Dayum...
Anyways, hope you enjoy my trashtastic Au, headcanons and art.

idk if ur still taking questions abt ur ocs but i would like to hear more abt ur star wars character :)
oh anon you bring me joy to my aching heart, thank you
since there wasn’t a specific question, i’ll just give some general stuff (im sorry it got to be a lot LOL):
SW steel was as an imperial cadet in the imperial navy
she was actually in the pilot core but excelled through the program much faster than most (more on that later)
since she managed to finish the piloting courses in essentially record time, she also had taken to being a part of the medic crops
she was supposed to begin her time serving in Thrawn’s 7th Fleet, but it was at the same Battle of Batonn that he was promoted to Grand Admiral for, it was there that steel came to the decision to defect from the empire
she is from the planet called Pamarthe (thank you isaac (@lamecifer) for helping me with that)
in the canon, its a planet in the outer rim and they are a people who are known to be excellent pilots
SO this explains why she’s already a good pilot, she essentially grew up in an environment where she was taught it at a very young age
i’ve played around with the base lore a bit and essentially remade it to be a pseudo-middle eastern culture representative planet (with a similar history more specifically to Egypt :) )
she’s about 8yo when Order 66 occurred, so 27 by the Battle of Yavin
she’s actually force sensitive! (haha, very original, i know)
BUT not as much in the traditional sense, it more so initially manifested in the hyperfocus needed for intense flight maneuvers
later on it strongly takes place when a friend is direly injured and she unintentionally uses force healing
the shuttle steel steals (lol) to escape the empire was initially a lambda class shuttle!
later on she gets her hands on a Kappa class shuttle and heavily modifies it (better guns, shields, engine, new paint job, etc)
her ship is named the “Arcadia”
she has a droid companion: R6-A4
he’s often referred to as just “A4″
he’s a modified R6 type droid to not only do what an astromech would do, but is also essentially a medical assistant lol
A4′s personality is: if you took Chopper from SW Rebels and R2D2, but like the worst, most chaotic parts and combined them, you get A4
after leaving the empire she worked as a transporter and sometimes spice runner for Crimson Dawn, but was not heavily associated with them
with time and space travel, she becomes close friends with Lark (@lamecifer’s oc, survivor of O66, later a mercenary) and Ace (@sarcasmprodigy‘s oc, ex-scout trooper they picked up along the way)
they end up being one of those first groups to help form the Rebellion
they work similar to, but not entirely in the same sense as the Ghost Crew
they’re a bit more sever in their tactics, more brutal, essentially they specialized in the dirty work that the rebellion didn’t want to be public about
more so affiliated with the rebellion rather than completely associated with them, an internally localized group
they ofc still believe that the empire is hot garbage, but are critical/hesitant of the rebellion’s potential to become another instance of the previously downed Galactic Republic
Some AU’s:
Imperial
Crimson Dawn

For Another 25 OC/LI Lore Ask. Seven, Twelve, and Eightteen. 💫💗
These were really good!  Thank you!
SEVEN| If your apprentice could appear in any show, whether it be as a cross-over or maybe they would just fit particularly well in that show, what show would it be? Why?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since my fic is in fact a crossover, I’d have to say Slayers.  Imalia is one of those insanely powerful anime sorceresses who can blow up a whole city if she chose to.  She’s even supposed to be the descendent of Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev (hence her surname).  She sees that same potential in Azalea, and that is why she’s mentoring her.  In her mind, you can’t let someone with that kind of potential stagnate in magic that isn’t as challenging as it could be.  She wants to see Azalea cast a Dragon Slave.  She wants to see her cast a Rah Tilt.  She desperately wants to see Azalea become a favored one of the Fire Dragon King.  And even more than that, she wants Azalea to be powerful enough to take Imalia down if Lon ever gained complete control of her body.  Imalia also sees this potential in Asra.  He could become the greatest Water Dragon Priest the world has ever known.  On their honeymoon, she takes him to visit all of the great temples and libraries in the northern hemisphere (the Slayers map)
Tumblr media
(art by Lukec.arts)
Hey, it’s close enough for my headcanon. XP  And to explain the curvature of the planet, the area labeled “Arcana” is actually in the southern hemisphere.
TWELVE | Would your apprentice, given that they’re really more of a master, ever take on an apprentice of their own? Do you have an OC in mind for it? What would they be like?
Tumblr media
Azalea’s apprentices are her own children.
Julian’s Route:  Nora and Rylen Devorak
Nora specializes in air magic and illusions.  Rylen is in tune with nature and plant control
Lucio’s Route:  Darien and Etoile
Darien is a jack-of-all-trades kind of magician, but specializes in water.  Etoile specializes in fire and lightning.
Tumblr media
She’s a master already.  Want to learn?  Knock on her door.  If you’ve got the will, she has the way.  But officially her apprentice is Azalea.  Afterwards, her and Asra’s kids...as well as everyone in her class in Seyruun.
EIGHTEEN| What are your apprentice and their LI’s pet names for each other?
Tumblr media
They all tend to use a lot of pet names.
w/Julian:  J to A:  “Captain,” “darling,” “dearest,” “temptress,” and mostly “Angel”
A to J:  “baby,” “handsome,” “you giant eel,” “my world,” and “Lieutenant”
w/Lucio:  L to A:  “hot stuff,” “baby,” “firecracker,” (for modern AU) “Master Exploder” (L: ‘cause she makes me explode if ya know what I mean…) and mostly “Azzie”
A to L:  “Gorgeous,” “pretty bastard,” “Luci,” “honey,” “babe,” “bad boy,” and “sweetheart”
Tumblr media
They tend to keep it simple.
Asra to Imalia:  “Professor,” and “Mal”
Imalia to Asra:  “Starlight,” “perfection,” and “sweetness”

Eve`s Lore, Part 1: Backstory, and Ari`s Main AU
Under the cut will be the long (and I mean LONG) story behind my Pastamonsters OC, Eve, including her backstory, her relationship with Ari as her host, her life in the UnderRealm, and some facts at the end. This is for the main lore, as I have also devised a second AU. This also includes some headcanons on how I view Zalgo and Zalga, and also some PM spoilers I have read from @comickit `s blog. Some information may or may not be applicable to the canon PM universe.
This post will have 3 parts, as there is a lot of info that cannot fit into one post, and as well as that, I have a second AU where Eve`s backstory stays the same, but Ari goes through a different plotline after being possessed by her.
Also note that I will leave number marks like (1)(2)(3) next to certain lines to indicate that there will be a fact at the end in regard to it.
Trigger warnings: Murder, death, gore, occult, religion, suicide, and mention of molestation.
Please keep in mind that Eve has no current ties to the cannon Pastamonsters world, and is simply a self insert. Anyways, enjoy!
The Creation
About several eons ago, after Zalgo had already made his first monster, the Boogeyman, he was trying to think of a more unique design of a monster than others he had made. He was reminded of the tale of Adam and Eve, and how it is said that Eve came from the rib of Adam. He was also reminded of the traits of his sister, and so, he began working on his next creation: Eve.
This Eve was clearly nothing like the biblical one. She was about half his height, but still towering at almost 8 ft. Her hair was short but thick, her flesh was gray to represent a medium between him and his sister, Zalga (which shall be explained soon). However, from her waist down, was almost a fur-like coat and talons for feet. Her eyes were a lighter shade of gray with red slit pupils, and her forearms faded into a darker shade of gray like her legs. Her general physique androgynous, with feminine features closer to her face, and masculine features in her body. (1)
And of course, he left room for the monstrous features. Her top canines curled outwards, and her bottom canines grew upwards. She had a thin tail with razor-like claws at the end, and it could whip to make a snapping sound, and perhaps even decapitate someone. She had a wingspan at a staggering 20 ft, and tall horns that measured at 3 ft upwards.
At first, Zalgo considered making her like that of the Boogeyman: just a monster with a higher title. But considering how much power, strength, and capability her had unintentionally given her, he decided to use her for a higher purpose: she would build, train, and lead his army, travel to distant parts of other Realms to bring information, and the most important role of all,
She was to be a messenger between him and his sister, Zalga.
Zalga
On Eve`s first mission to meet in the higher realm with Zalga, she was told to bring a personal message from Zalgo himself. Let`s just say he wanted to see how his “goody-two-shoes sissy” was doing. When Eve first came in contact with Zalga, she felt an impending force of something she never felt before. The presence of Eve`s kind, calm, and collected nature, was completely foreign to this lesser demon. She felt weird in her presence, and almost felt as if she wanted to reconsider what she was doing working for Zalgo.
As time went on and the messages she delivered to her from Zalgo were closer to that of declarences of war, Eve felt more and more in a gray area than she ever did before, and closer to light. Yes, she was falling in love with the light counterpart of her dark lord. Zalga knew of this right away, and she is quick to sense positive energy, as she herself radiates it. Because of this gradual shift towards a light side, Eve`s appearance changes as well. Her hair grew, her horns shrunk, and most noticeably, her slit eyes changed into a bright green. She learned to conceal this, though, as she knew Zalgo would be furious if he knew she were turning to light.
Betrayal and Exile
Eve and Zalga knew that they were on the brink of war, and that they may no longer be in neutral terms if this were to be. Eve confessed her love to Zalga, and Zalga reciprocated her feelings. But all that stood in their way was Lord Zalgo. As Eve was about to carry on with a plan to betray him and strengthen Zalga`s own army in secret, Zalgo soon found out, and incarcerated her in the chasm of eons.
Eve was able to escape using the strength she gathered from other loose souls in the chasm, but this escape was temporary, as she was caught again. This greatly terrified Zalgo, as he realized she was growing too powerful, and was even against him. Zalgo had come to terms with the fact that she could grow too powerful if kept in either the UnderRealm or Higher realm, so he came with the decision to exile her to the OverRealm, where she would roam the earth as a possessor demon, clinging onto human life forms and moving about like a parasite.
Power Exchange
So, as mentioned in Eve`s birth, what is a happy medium of dark and light, when one my be closer to dark? That would be sin. Sin and pleasures. Some may argue Eve carried the intentions of carrying out The Seven Deadly ones, which we all know by now.
And so, Eve first began her troublesome journey as a possessor demon in the ancient times of the Romans and Greeks.(2) She would most commonly possess young women from the ages of 17-25. Most of these women, however, consented to becoming hosts of Eve, as Eve was a contract possessor, meaning a pact had to be made with her in order to be her host. In the exchange, Eve would give the women strength, confidence, and an overall “better quality of life.” However, the last part isn`t usually true, as in exchange for these qualities, her hosts must give souls, mainly through the process of murder, and other pleasures and sins.
As more souls and sins are given to Eve by her hosts, she gains more power, and more of her lost attributes are given to the host. For example, the first kill may give the host Eve`s claws, and with enough souls and power, they may gain the ability of flight with her wings. However, that level has yet to be reached for years to come..
Unfortunately, with physical monstrous features becoming prominent in hosts, these women are often exorcised of Eve, if not killed, and Eve is stripped of her power and souls gained, and the cycle of finding a new host and gaining power begins again.
80`s
After being smuggled into America from a European host some time in the late 70s, and with American Occultism on the rise, it`s safe to say Eve was most active during the 80s, until coming across a host whom she stays with up until the 2000s. With having been enveloped in a new era of radical people, mannerisms, music, fashion, and culture, she was intrigued, and soon became one with the personality of this decade. She loved everything about it from the movies like E.T., Alien, and Back to the Future, to the big-haired popstairs like Madonna and Whitney Houston (especially the big hair part).
With her attachment to this decade, it was easiest for her to blend in with the personalities of the many hosts she took on. By the time the 80s was almost at its end, and the 90s was making way, she had taken shelter in a young woman who killed cops in her spare time. But by 2001, the woman she took host in had accidentally become pregnant with a girl, and so Eve was forced to be kept at bay inside her host until the woman`s daughter was in her preteens.
Beginning of a New Century
With the woman`s end of the deal being broken, and Eve was no longer receiving power from souls and sin, Eve grew restless and angry. She drove the poor woman insane, and almost ruined her life entirely, from ruining her relationships, and even almost making her kill her own daughter. The woman could no longer take the torment of the parasite she made her body a home to. She had to get rid of her, but with no friends, no close relationships, and no one to go to, her options for someone to pass the demon to was short, with the only option on the list being her preteen daughter.
On the night of her daughter`s 11th birthday, she set up an altar for a transfer ritual, and tricked her daughter into believing this was a new birthday tradition. The little girl was naive, and when Eve came to speak through her mother`s body with glowing green eyes, she thought it was no more than a magic trick or prank. By the end of the night, the poor girl was unwillingly possessed by Eve.
With the mother realizing what monstrosity she passed to her daughter, she shot herself in the basement, leaving her daughter to the custody of her ex boyfriend.
Ari
Fast forward about 5-6 years later. It is 2019, and the school year is in the beginning of the 4th semester. Ari (short for my full name) is going about her day when she teacher introduces a new student to the class. With sympathy towards the new girl, Ari offers the seat next to her. They grow close as friends, and as the end of the school year nears, they decide to meet for a “sleepover” at the girl`s house. But behind Ari`s parent`s backs, they were planning to make contact with a certain demon who has been named many times before.
The girl explained to Ari of the tragic story of her mother, and how she was misdiagnosed because of the constant demands from the monster she carried. Obviously, at first, Ari had serious doubts. But in empathy for the girl, she claimed to believe her, hoping it would ease her. But that night when they opened the altar for communication with Eve, Ari`s perspective on the occult had immediately shifted from wanting to see proof of demons, to literally talking to one.
To use one`s host to communicate with the new host she was about to make a pact with was supposed to be customary for Eve, but with many Occultists she had been in and out of in the past, they always wanted to skip the talking and go straight for being possessed. But not Ari. She had quite a few questions on Eve`s origins. When she asked Eve of her origin land, she expected her to answer with “Hell” but instead, with the answer being “The UnderRealm”, a light immediately went over Ari`s head.
She had some vague knowledge of the UnderRealm, as, not to be cliche, she was quite a fangirl. She never asked about the monsters there, though, but she did ask about Zalgo. This surprised Eve, and so Eve came clean of her full past. When they were nearing the end of the questioning time, Eve explained her common terms of strength in exchange for souls and sins (The Three S`s as she calls it). Ari thought back on her middle school bullies, and with having a triggering flashback of the boy who molested and humiliated her, she gave Eve a grin and agreed to the pact, with full intentions of getting revenge and giving Eve her souls. Soon that night, the possession process began, and a new Ari was about to be born.
New Host
The possession process was an uncomfortable one at that, but by the end of it, the poor girl who had been infected with this parasitic demon for all her childhood was freed. Or so she thought.
As Ari was heavily foaming at the mouth, her veins pumped, and her eyes began to glow faintly, the other girl was unaware of the situation. Before she could say “thank you”, she had Ari- no, Eve`s hands on her throat. Eve had the last word that night, leaving the girl as nothing more than a corpse with a broken neck. When the girl`s “father” called the cops, they ruled it out as abuse from the man, and he was taken into custody and questioned. Ari escaped home that night, and had plenty of catching up to with this new friend inside of her.
New Year, New Us
By 2020, the beginning of Ari`s senior year in high school, her and Eve had already formed a bond like no other host had with Eve before. Ari had a dark mind, and dark intentions since she was 12. All that pent up angst, anger, and rage could never be carried out before, not just because of a lack of confidence in her abilities, but also a lack of the abilities in the first place. Ari was, admittedly, a weak and lazy girl. Eve pushed her new host to change for the better. She`d make her run through the woods at midnight, climb and punch trees, and generally just push this weak body to the edge. It was hell at first, but it all paid off for Ari as a host, and for Eve to carry on her plans in a fit body.
After a year and a half after her high school graduation, the two as a pair had killed many that Ari resented, and carried on many other sins, which was more than enough to give Eve`s host some of her own attributes, starting with her claws, to her teeth, to her tail.
Last Souls
After having discovered the whereabouts of the three infamous boys who drove the girl to the brink of murder-suicide in middle school, the pair devised a plan like no other. Not only would they take their souls through their deaths, but they would make their deaths the most slow, and painful.
For the first two, it was simple torture in an abandoned shed, then leaving them to die to collect their souls several days later. With the collection of their two souls, Eve`s host had reached an achievement that no other host had reached before. She gained her wings.
Their attack on the last boy was the best experience Ari had ever had in her life. With her taking on the full form of Eve, she swooped in on the boy as he was walking home at night, and punted him back and forth in the air, before throwing him into the forest, chasing him like a beast, whipping and cutting him with her tail, before finally ripping him to shreds in the air and dropping his corpse from 60 ft above ground.
That is all the info I could fit into one post, I will work on part 2 and post it soon, and later I may post part 3 for the different AU.

Cupcake Writes: Making Good Super Humans
((Particularly for BNHA, but other places are included))
Ooh Boy. Thiiiis is going to get involved.
Tumblr media
After unveiling the Refrain Saga and my BNHA oc Curse- several people have come to me for some advice regarding how to develop powers and backstories for their super-powered ocs... And I am incredibly flattered; first of all- but also a little scared to offer my advice because it all boils down to a lot... And a lot of thinking. Moreover; although I know a good deal about the Marvel and DC comic multi-verse this is primarily written from the perspective of someone wanting to make a Boku No Hero Academia or My hero Academia OC.
Let me start off by saying; I have a few routines.
Routine A: The Character Arc route
1. Make a person (humanity not necessary)
2. Make a super power
3. How does #2 affect #1, and vice-versa?
4. You got a super human
5. Now break them-- But break them good.
Routine B: Ooh Cool, A Motif
1. Stereotypes?
2. Okay, but how can I make this different?
3. BADASS F*CKIN’ POWERS (or not. That’s cool too.)
4. Re-balancing more often than a narcoleptic ballerina.
5. Has super human???
6. What is character growth?????
As you can see both routes handle going about things in slightly different manners. Routine A is typically the route I make when I want to make a long-lasting and changing character-- I give them character arcs. Routine B; although can be applied to long lasting character as well, is geared further to making a fun character. In fact, Routine B I used to make my OC’s rival and people seem to like him even better than my Hero OC just because of his skill set and animosity. That being said; it’s time to take things from the top.
Routine A: The Character Arc Route
1. Make A Person--
Super humans are humans first and foremost. They have personalities, interests, hobbies, shortcomings, highlights, varying senses of humor... But even more than that they came from somewhere. What is their social-standing like? Where did they grow up? If they’re in the process of growing up how mature are they? What sort of clothes do they wear? How well do they care for themselves, others? Any lasting medical conditions to be noted (do your research on this)? What events in their life-time have shaped their personalities, goals or motivations? DO they have goals, motivations or personalities (if not this could be a thing they strive to achieve)? The list of questions goes on and on- and making sure these answers do not contradict each other is key to developing the base of a personality.
Non-human characters will have these questions- but they can also have VARYING questions. In Super-Man’s case you need to answer where he came from, why he’s there, what was life like growing up in Kansas being different from everyone else? In a case like Thor’s where he was an adult when he fell to Midgard questions about how he approaches social norms arise (remember the coffee mug scene?).
Having any background information on the world itself will help. If you’re making a character based from established canon (DC, Marvel, My Hero Academia) it’ll help for you to be VERY familiar with the background and lore. If you’re making a new universe it’s good to focus a bit on your world while you’re making this character.
2. Make A Super Power--
Next is the point of this entire post. I’m guessing if you’ve gone down this route you already have some sort of power in mind- but this is really where you get to make it your own. I’d like to stress to get familiar with whatever your source material is; because powers have different implications in different canon.
In DC powers are rare and only are possessed by a few handful of people or beings at a time and there’s no clear set of rules that they follow- in certain cases powers have weaknesses in others they don’t and in many cases we have non-powered humans able to stand toe-to-toe with literal gods and goddesses (Justice League)...
In Marvel: Super-powers are often a hereditary thing and it’s a pretty good chance that these powers could lead to your character being oppressed (as a mutant).
But in Boku No Hero or My Hero Academia super-powers are normal, and bordernline a rite of passage. Powers are often extensions of a personality in some way, and are considered as a sort of auxiliary muscle- most powers in turn have their limits and it’s up to super-heroes to discover how to use theirs most effectively.
Soooo... Consider the important questions for your canon. How does the world in general react to super-powers? Their super-power in particular? Are there any limits to their powers? Do they even HAVE super powers, or are they just really really good at one thing? Do these powers have effects on this character’s personal appearance? How long have they had these powers?... But most importantly; what are the potential draw-backs of using said powers?
At this point I’d really like to give props to Hero Aca because I’ve never seen collateral damage taken into such consideration as they have- and most every quirk (or power) has a draw- back. For instance- the main villain has the ability to dissolve anything he touches with all five of his fingers.... The drawback being that he dissolves things he touches with all five of his fingers-- this has been hinted at to be a huge part of his backstory and we know it likely affects his day-to-day life.... So get creative!
3. How does #2 effect #1 and vice-versa?
At this point you have your two main components-- now comes the hard part. Putting them together. It’s at this point you may want to adjust, change, or even ditch parts of the personality/power portion to make a character more balanced and get into detail into other parts.
A big theory of mine regarding the afformentioned Main Bad from Hero Aca is that he can destroy carbon-atoms, carbon-bonds, and anything connected to them with all five of his fingers. Since carbon is in most things now-a-days it would certainly give off the impression he can dissolve everything with just a touch-- but he’d be unable to dissolve a block of solid aluminium.
Though normally a soft-spoken and mild-mannered man, Bruce Banner’s ability to “Hulk Out” leaves him emotionally compromised and constantly seeking out ways to remain calm and not angry since “Hulking Out” is triggered by his now nuclear-mutated rage.
Bruce Wayne likely has a lot of personal expense explaining to do when it comes to the sheer amount of money it must take to develop all of Batman’s gadgets come tax season.... This isn’t even a joke. How the heck does he do that???
4. You have a Super Human--
Have fun! Go nuts!
It’s normally at this point I start rping and fleshing them out. The truth of the matter is putting your character into practice is the best way to develop them, and you can’t have everything prepared. Maybe there are some questions to be answered more clearly? Maybe change an aspect of the character because you don’t like where it’s going?
5. Now Break Them-- But Break Them Good--
Now we get to the part you will take the longest to work on, by far. Establishing character arcs. You’ve changed a lot in the many years you’ve been around. Probably been through phases maybe a few phases stuck... Your character is no different. As I said before; your super human is a human being. They will change over time and react to the world around them.
Character arcs often have four main plots- Man vs. Man, Man vs. Society, Man vs Nature, and Man vs. Himself.
Man vs Man is the simplest in it’s origin. It’s a character vs another character(s). A protagonist vs an antagonist (but not necessarily a villain). See Batman vs. Joker in the Dark Knight.
Man vs Society is often used to exhibit the protagonist challenging a societal norm. It’s more symbolic than literal-- if you thought it was about a man fighting society all Agent Smith vs. Neo style- See Man vs. Man.
Man vs. Nature tends to be reserved for survival stories... Which I feel wouldn’t have a place on this list if it wasn’t for the sheer amount of superheroes having survival stories written into their background.
Finally we have Man vs. Himself-- the introspective one. This is the method by which a character is actively fighting to overcome what they perceive as a flaw within themselves.
Character arcs are often set up by the goals or motivations of a person. Whether it be working to deck someone in the face, checking into rehab and staying there because of a drug-problem, or really really REALLY needing to light a fire and get off this island; a character is greatly affected by their character arc.
THE THING ABOUT CHARACTER ARCS-- is that your character can fail them. They can fail their goals and have to re-adjust. They will probably need external help... Success or fail; character arcs establish timelines in a character’s canon.  Are you Pre-Avengers Tony Stark, or post? Are you Robin or the Red Hood? The choice is yours-- but never throw something at your character they can’t overcome unless they’re not supposed to. If they can’t- they’ll change.
Routine B: OH HEY A MOTIF
1. Stereotypes?--
Ah yes. Stereotypes and tropes.... The world of literary wonders has left us a whole slew of archetypes and cliches for us to pick from. Whether it be a simple trope such as “the boy/girl next door”, or the “Cheerleader”.... Or a more complex one such as the “Crouching moron; Hidden Badass” there are a slew of archetypes to chose from. You don’t even have to stop at TROPES.
The persona series consistently make characters with personalities based off of what the Major Tarot Arcana represent! Rpgs often have a stock selection of characters such as; “The Knight”, “The Prince or Princess”, “The Evil Sorcerer”... What-have you. Even character classes such as “The rogue” “The Bard” and “The Paladin” are all tropes to monkey with... Pick a trope or two you enjoy and see what combinations you can make.
Tropes, cliches, and stereotypes are not all that original, but certain combinations may be- but they are a good starting point to help establish a good sense of how your character should feel! This is when you ask...
2. Okay, But How Can I Make This Different? (Obhcimtd)--
As mentioned above; tropes, cliches, and stereotypes are not all that original. People are more than just tropes and your characters should be more than that as well. The only people you could possibly describe by tropes would be people you don’t KNOW yet-- and you’re the writer. You should know your character.
Look at various ways to subvert or expand from where the tropes first brought you. For instance; Wolverine is someone I would say qualifies as the Papa Wolf trope... But why he qualifies for that is based both from his motivation and his backstory- literally being old as dirt he has a tendency to gravitate to a leadership role and takes on the responsibility of being in charge because generally he can just regenerate.... He’s... Also an emotional mess because of it.... Sooooo yeah. He’s not just adopting teenagers left and right- and there are REASONS why that trope applies to him- but doesn’t define him. He’s still the angry short stack of beef we all know and love.
3. BADASS F*CKIN’ POWERS--
The same rules from Routine A apply here. Powers have consequences, collateral, limits and draw-backs-- only in routine b I allow myself a little more lee-way to find something that is more cool than something that’s strictly effective for story-telling. It’s easier in a routine like this to give someone a power too great or with no real weaknesses; so watch out for that.
4. Rebalancing more often than a narcoleptic ballerina--
After I’ve had my fun giving near god-like powers to my OC I think of the practicalities more realistically. I do this multiple times and often seek outside help or references from other forms of media with similar powers. This often comes out to having a (still) really cool power, but maybe not one that’d just trump every other character’s power first.
5. Has Super Human???--
Yup. Potentially. This is the shakey- “Your character is ready, but not done yet” stage where you put their personality, and powers on display to practice and solidify. Just like a cake; If poking holes into your character causes the tooth-pick to come out wet then leave them in the oven for an extra few character speculations.
6. What is character growth?????--
As I keep pressing again and again; your character is a human... And they- whether they like it or not- will be subject to change over time. Events may cause them to change in personal beliefs. Perhaps even different scenarios entirely would have them acting VERY different from where they were. That My friend is the power of AU’s.
And now for the Final step to both Routes
ASK PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR CHARACTERS.
Assuming this is for RP purposes you don’t have to wait until everything is done before you can ask for feedback. In fact; I find that asking outside sources about character abilities or personalities is a good way to keep me humble. Getting caught up in making characters with cool powers can make anyone over-look some really glaring flaws they may have... Or on the reverse; someone could have given their characters too many flaws and made a misery porn backstory.
At any rate- these people you rp with will interact with your character through you and will have different opinions or ideas possibly for how your character is changing/doing-- not saying you should follow all advice they throw at you (an annoying character is meant to be annoying, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise); but it’s a good basis to go off of from the start and further propel your character into greatness!

tagged!
@mikoe24 - this looked interesting, so I stayed up a bit later than intended working on it xD Thanks for the tag, love, and I’ll be having some Mikuni and Misono headcanons for you after my hiatus is up! (which will be a week ahead of time, woohoo!)
Rules: Always post the rules. Answer the questions asked, then write eleven new ones. Tag eleven people to answer your questions as well as the person who tagged you.
Pokki’s Questions
1. Do you have any OCs? If so, what are their name(s)?
I have quite a few, yes. I have an entire next gen cast for Natsume's Book of Friends, for a story I have been working on for two years. It recently hit 100k and I am still dead sure this will never see the light of day, lol. It's so self indulgent. For right now it has the working title of Elegy for the Lost One and it takes place in a future where Natsume disappeared under strange circumstances. Thrillers are what I like writing the most - suspense, the build-up to it, and then the inevitable fall as you start putting the pieces together.
Now to give you the run-down on the OCS, haha. So first up is Shiori, who I decided would be a daughter to Natori and Hiiragi. I am always curious about youkai/human relations and how they work in the Book of Friends universe, and I chose to play around with that using Shiori. She takes after her father a lot - flashy, bold, a real show stopper. But she has her mother's sensibility and loyalty. And since I'm mentioning Natori, I might as well bring up Matoba. I ended up giving him a son that develops an unparalleled obsession with the Book of Friends. Then there's Takahiro, Hiromi and Haruki who are the main cast and the ones that the story focuses on the most. They're the ones trying to solve the mystery. Meanwhile, there's Makoto, who is the would-be inherited of the Book of Friends. She is a relative to Natsume, distantly, through Natsume's cousin (Yuuto, if the drama cds are to be believed~).
Then, for an original story I'm working on, I have a few solid characters so far. Annabel, a steadfast young woman who is independant to a fault and doesn't know to ask others for help. She's thrown into a situation where she has no choice but to lean on others - or in this case, on one person in particular. A mentor, a friend, a guiding hand in a world that seems so foreign even though she's been living in it for years. Suddenly, things fail to make sense. What she thought she knew turns out to be different from the underlying reality. The Lore Keeper, her mentor, is the one to help her through it. For his own reasons, but who doesn't have an ulterior motive or two? His is simply ensuring that the future Keeper is an upstanding one. As you can see, he doesn't have a name yet. But that's both intentional and my own laziness lol. So yeah, choosing names is always the last step for me. Developing their personalities is what I tend to focus on the most when creating an OC. The name always comes last to me.
2. What’s your favorite eye color?
I love blue eyes! They're so pretty. Especially light blue.
3. How would you name your kids? Or, if you don’t want kids, what are your favorite names?
Fun fact: I was actually terrified of having children for a long time. I met someone who changed that for me, but eh. I have not given it much thought. I think naming children should be the act of both parents, something I'd want to talk over with my partner, but as for some of my favorite names ... I like short and sweet, so: Iris and Jay.
4. What’s your favorite quote?
I tend to go with Dr. Seuss a lot, heh, so I'll go with Roald Dahl this time: "A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest of men."
5. What’s the last anime you watched?
... it's been a while, uhhh. Dragon Maid probably. :3
6. Do you like cosplays?
I never personally wore any, but I deeply admire those who do. They put a lot of work into every costume and that takes skill, dedication, and sacrificing their own personal time to make it. They have my respect.
7. Do you have a crush on someone? (A real person or a fictional character, it doesn’t matter~)
Well then, just delve right into my deep, dark secrets why don't you? Hmmm, I guess if I'm being honest: I do. It was sort of an "oh shit" moment for me, but identifying the problem is the first step to finding a solution. In this case, getting my heart to agree with my mind that this is Not Allowed.
Fictional-wise ... idk, man. It's hard enough on me having real life crushes. I suppose Lily and Natori would be my type, though.
8. How many siblings do you have?
I have - had - two older half-brothers. It's complicated, too, so nope. I will not be explaining.
9. What would your ideal date be like?
Probably either a candlelit dinner and snuggling on the couch or doing something we both loved together. With my ex, that used to be hiking at the Cliffs, putting our feet in the water and play fighting with said water, and then collapsing together in the sand. It was sweet while it lasted.
10. Do you like your handwriting? Why?
I do, because why not? It's not perfect, but I've been learning that striving for perfection is a fruitless endeavor. It's also the coward's way out.
11. Now, say something positive about yourself!~  c:
Hmmm. Something positive ... my mind always goes blank when asked this sort of question. I guess, it's my persistence? Even when I play the role my own worst critic, I still keep going because sitting idle has never suited me. I have to constantly be doing something. Whether it's writing, reading, etc. If my mind is happy, so am I.
Avi’s Questions
1: What is you’re favorite series and why? (Could be anything from TV shows, books, anime, ect..)
For books, probably ... the Artemis Fowl series? That writing style is one of my favs :'D
For manga, definitely Natsume's Book of Friends. Gorgeous short stories on their own and a sprinkling of plot that's not too much, so it doesn’t take away from each story and they can all stand on their own. I admire that, since I'm primarily a short story writer more often than not.
2: What is your favorite weather and time of day?
My favorite type of weather is rain, no doubt about it. And for time of day ... night. Definitely night. I am a night owl, ha.
3: Favorite Fictional character? Why?
Why must you do this to me?! At the moment, it's Mikuni. Save me.
4: Favorite video game? Why?
The World Ends With You. Lots of reasons, and since they are personal ... I will instead just gush about how much I loved the storyline and the characters, and how I can proudly proclaim that this is one of the few games I have ever completed 100%.
5: What are your hobbies?
Writing, reading, watching anime, video games, fishing, hiking, cooking/baking, and learning new things.
6: If you could pick one fictional world to live in, what world would you pick and why?
Oh gosh, I think the Hunter x Hunter world would be cool, too, but I'd die so quickly ... I'm going to go the safer route and say Tales of the Abyss. Make me one of those NPCs chilling in the background. Just, you know, not in the town that gets completely destroyed (gdi Luke).
7: Favorite animal?
CATS. I have always been a cat person and I will definitely continue to be one looooong into the future.
8: Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names and what are they?
Snow White, my eskimo doggie. And Goldie, my orange and white tabby cat.
9: Do you have any original stories? Tell me something about them!
Since I already talked about my current story alongside the OC question, I'll instead gush about a collab story with a good friend of mine. We've been working on this story for close to ... god, eight years now? It's one of those self indulgent things. It's fun to come home to and work on. It has a super hero setting, wherein she writes the heroes and I write the villains. My alliance is called, wait for it - SASSI. Super Assholes Seeking Suitable Income. They're real particular about the destruction they cause, let me tell ya. It's sort of a goofy series that we put together to hash out why people do the things they do and put a satire spin on it. (The villains are not the only ones we poke fun at, just saying.)
10: If you have any ocs, who was your first? If you don’t have any, who was your first favorite character and why?
Oh wow, that's so long ago. My first OC was a nameless young lady from a story about black cats bringing good omens. I wrote it for English class, because I was interested in myths and old legends in regards to cats. It was around the time I discovered what a Cat Sith is.
11: You have three wishes, what would you wish for?
Is this like one of those genies that twists what we want and we have to be reaaaally careful? You know, Monkey Paw style? If so, then I would hand off the wishes to someone else. They can have them; I'mma strive for what I want with my own dedication and patience. If this is a no strings attached sort of deal, then: 1. for good things to happen to my friends and family, 2. to live by the ocean, and 3. to be able to speak more than one language. As I said, all things I can work towards on my own.
Mikoe's Questions
1. Do you draw? If yes, how many years has it been since you’ve started?
Oh gods, no. I used to be big into drawing animals, but I can't draw people and shit for the life of me. I have a few wolf pictures, still, I think. My spirit animal <3
2. Do you write? If yes, could you copy paste a line from your latest work?
Since I was 11~ And sure, I'll use fanfic: "Do I have to go?" The cat's sleepy yawn gave away its apathy to the whole thing. "Can't I just stay here and nap? You'll be fine on your own."
"Well, they did send us two tickets. It'd be rude if you didn't use it, Kuro. Not to mention," and here Mahiru flicked the cat on the forehead, "I'd kind of die if you didn't come along, you lazy cat. Or did you forget we have a contract?"
3. What is/are your nickname(s)? If you don’t have any, can I give you one?
I joke about having nicknames, because kids call me Apple (or god help me, Cabbage, from A FRIEND UGH), but nah. Not really. You can't really make a nickname out of April, lol. As for receiving a nickname, go for it. Good luck, pffft.
4. When is your birthday? If you’re not comfortable with it, then what is your favorite day of the whole year and why?
August 27th
5. What are the 5 things that never fail to brighten up your day or put a smile on your face?
My pets!!! My friends and family. Really cute pics of animal in general. Reading something sweet. Being out in the fresh air.
6. Why did you join Tumblr?
To reconnect with old friends, mainly. Then I fell into the Servamp fandom, enough said.
7. IOS or Android?
Android.
8. In the scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love yourself?
5, it's half and half.
9. Are you the type who pours the cereal before the milk or the milk before the cereal?
Cereal before the milk xD I don't want to get splashed.
10. How is 2017 treating you so far?
Hmm, to sum up: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
My internal thoughts are just incoherent screaming atm.
11. Do you like pigeons? XD
Depends. I like the pretty ones that are small and colorful and land on your fingertips.
My Questions~
1. Where do you see yourself in five years?
2. If you draw and/or write, what programs are your favorite to use?
3. Do you have any phobias?
4. Have you ever traveled? If so, where?
5. Do you have someone you admire or strive to be like?
6. What is your ideal vacation?
7. Do you have a favorite candle scent?
8. What genre is your favorite? (For movies, books, anime/manga, games, etc.)
9. Do you have something you use as a crutch/safety net? Something you couldn't live without?
10. What is a series you used to enjoy as a child? Do you still enjoy it?
11. List five things you want to improve in and make a little time for those things every day.
I tag: @crazyanime3, @stirlingphoenix, @choc0bunnyqueen, @pleasantdreamsart, @saltykarkat, @mikunialicein .... man, it’s hard to pick 11. Anyone else who wishes to do so! And of course, if you’re tagged and do not want to do it, that’s cool too.

Thoughts on MLP The Movie: Unpopular Opinion Edition
(I made a small post about this a few weeks ago, closer to when the movie premiered, but now that the hype has kind of fizzled out I thought I’d take the time to fuss more in-depth.)
So... I really thought the MLP movie was bad.  Terrible.  I had sooo many problems with it, so where do I start?
Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!!
My two biggest complaints are:
1) The movie didn’t hold up in terms of quality-- nevermind MLP expectations, it was just a bad movie in general.
2) Target demographic was noticeably shifted (downwards), especially when compared to the show.
Let me start by saying I’m not at all notorious even among friends for being this grouchy, self-elevated, overreaching entertainment critic/analyst.  I can enjoy most things at face value, ie. MLP.  I despise fanaticism (not fandom, fanaticism), and I’m long past the mindset that if I like something, I have to be blindly uncritical of it.
Please also note that I have not read the movie prequels or supporting media, and I went into this movie with only limited knowledge of those materials.
*deep breath*
(1) So, starting from the top: “It was just a bad movie in general.”
Visually, the movie barely held up for me.  Anyone who’s even had a basic flash animation class knows about this thing called ‘motion tweening:’ it’s an optimized process for creating movement, with which you can set a path for objects to move and deform as opposed to painstakingly animating each frame one by one.  It’s a much quicker process, but the (immediate) result often looks way more mechanical than its traditional counterpart and can often come off as... soulless, or even lazy.  It was unbelievably easy to notice this throughout the movie and it was a huge distraction for me.
You can more easily see what I’m talking about here.
As a side note, I was never really on board with the ToonBoom style from the get-go; I eventually got used to it, but I was never able to totally immerse myself in it-- the whole tweening thing just cemented my dislike for it.
Continuing my comments on style, the new character designs were interesting, but... so many of them felt too disconnected from established MLP universe conventions.   In fact, the only ones I could only get on board with were the hippogriffs (with a preference towards their seapony forms).  My biggest problem with them has to lay in the fact that nearly all of the new characters-- background and supporting-- were bipedal, when in-show nearly every new race introduced has been on all fours like our titular ponies... and to add insult to injury, so many of them had hands!  Their designs just felt too distant for me to connect that they live in the same world as our pony heroes.
Note: I realize most of these creatures inhabit lands self-defined by Celestia to be ‘beyond Equestria,’ but that doesn’t dismiss that they still felt like they belonged in a movie not prefaced with ponies.
(Tempest is a little different.  She was visually darker than most ponies than we’re used to seeing, and to the surprise of nobody the poster child for edgy pony OCs, complete with the perfect voice.  Unfortunately, her intimidating demeanor was sometimes too much for me, as it’s much more *effectively* threatening than what we’re used to seeing in-show-- the closest being the Shadow Pony in the S7 finale.)
On a more positive note, I really enjoyed the new environments.  Just the fact that we had new locations to begin with was endearing already, but unlike a lot of the other stuff (see above) they were on par with what I was expecting from MLP on the big screen.  I seriously think the environments had more character/place in the MLP universe than most of the (we’ll call them NPCs) NPCs that occupied them.
Speaking of character, I can forego most of what I’ve talked about above in lieu of a good story (spoilers: the story wasn’t even all that fresh, it was predictable and full of classic kid’s movies tropes).  What I can’t ignore is blatant out-of-character writing.
“But Salt Mom, if you hate out-of-character writing, why are you still watching the show post-season five?” -Most Starlight Glimmer Opposition
As I mentioned at the start, I still enjoy the show at face value.  We’re seven seasons in; our beloved ponies have seen some noticeable character development over the years, which is what some people (perhaps those ruled by nostalgia for the earlier feel of the show) like to label ‘out-of-character writing.’  But the changes are justified by their development, which is why I don’t see it that way.  The movie, however, seems to completely forego character development and reduces them to (at times, vapid) caricatures of themselves and the out of character writing is now completely obvious to someone like me who doesn’t typically enjoy ponies through heavy analysis.
Pinkie was by far the most glaring.  Pinkie is already one of my least favorite ponies, so maybe I’m biased here, but she was for the most part written as comic relief.  She wasn’t a pony Grubber-- she did play the part of ‘voice of reason’ in the climax with Twilight-- but she had an irritating tendency to completely downplay the seriousness of their situation, as they all did (she was just the most obvious, second being tied between Dash and Rarity).  Since when have they all been so naive?  Except for Twilight, all our heroes had minimal speaking roles (and even more damning, speaking roles with substance), most notably Fluttershy.
Other problems included the princesses (once again) being victims of weak writing-- they’ve been proven to be capable of putting up more of a fight than we were shown, jeez!-- for the sake of putting the Mane 6 in the spotlight, probably something some people would call ‘forced progression’ (related: bad pacing).
... Which leads into the movie’s general issue with logic.
OH BOY.  I had so many issues with the movie logic.  As mentioned before... the ponies’ general naivety, their blatant disregard for the grim nature of their situation...  Capper betrays them, doesn’t explain his reasons, doesn’t get a proper chance to apologize, and our ponies are totally cool with him by the falling action sequence of the movie?  Celaeno’s crew (and similarly, the seaponies) is swayed into changing allegiances with a simple, three-minute song?  The Mane 6 add six or so characters to their posse and suddenly it’s possible to take back Canterlot, after being overwhelmed so easily in the beginning, when the princesses weren’t yet turned to stone?  Really?  How could Tempest-- a pony who comes off as smarter than the rest-- be so desperate to have her horn back that she couldn’t foresee the Storm King’s betrayal?
*angry flailing motions*
In summary: the animation was mechanical, character designs suffered from a serious disconnect with established MLP canon, and everything from logic to pacing to character behavior suffered from bad, trope-y writing.

(2) “The movie demographic was shifted noticeably.”
(A lot of what I’ve addressed above can also be applied to this section of grievances.)
Very few times have I watched anything in general and walked away feeling like a real dumbass.  This was one of those times.  Everything from the humor, the songs, the logic (see above)... it all came together to make me feel dumbed down and like a huge moron for even buying a ticket.  Overall, it was extremely apparent to me that they’d knocked the target demographic down a few years, and that the movie was made with younger kids-- rather than families as a whole-- in mind.
The brand of ‘humor’ (I use that term loosely) employed by the movie has to be the cringiest one in the book.  It was clear that it was the most vanilla one they could have gotten away with and I found myself rolling my eyes a lot because honestly, none of it was funny at all.  Grubber was purely on the screen for comic relief (we literally don’t see him again after the finale); Pinkie’s naivety was obviously supposed to be funny, as were Rarity’s trademark dramaticisms-- They got close sometimes to pulling a laugh, but then it just... fell short and wound up feeling more pathetic and forced than anything.  Was it even humorous to the kids?
I laughed literally once during the entire movie, and that was at a very transparent marketing joke (perhaps not deliberate) made towards the beginning, after the Mane 6 fall from Canterlot and band together to decide how to proceed.  They end up saying something to the effect of “hungry, hungry, hippos” as they’re brainstorming and I chuckled because... Hungry Hungry Hippos is also a Hasbro property.
I thought I might be able to find solace in some of the songs-- I’d heard SIA’s contribution in the days leading up to the movie and thoughts it was a decent tune-- but alas... They turned out to be completely vapid, with the sole exception of Tempest’s song.  Compared to the extensive library of songs we’ve gotten in the show, the lyrics and melodies we got in the movie were neither clever nor catchy (I recall thinking that rhyming schemes were nearly non-existent) and I found myself waiting with bated breath until they were over.  “Time to be awesome?”  Blegh.  Completely forgettable.
IDK.  Maybe I need to see the movie again to confirm my position with it; after all, I had already decided I didn’t really like it before the end of the first act.  For the better part of a year I couldn’t get away from the hype surrounding MLP The Movie, but when I finally saw it it didn’t deliver on the same level and ended up being a huge let-down.  It was lacking in a lot of things standard to its TV-counterpart, including what makes the in-show universe so appealing (lore, memorable songs, and magic), and if they end up putting out a sequel I hope it can bounce back in the same way EQG2 built on the shortcomings of its predecessor.
That’s all I’ve got.  If you’ve managed to get this far, thanks for reading.  ✌
(Bonus) Things I would have liked to see: an entire pirate fleet (instead of a single crew); more Capper and time spent in Klugetown; more Storm King and the land he comes from; the hippogriffs actually doing something (isn’t Queen Novo supposed to be friends with Celestia?) to contribute to the finale, even if it was them swooping in just before the final fight.
