#writerfriendschallenge Dec 6: what gets me inspired... MUSIC. My number one inspiration is music. A nice, ridiculously long (and I mean ridiculous, like at least 100 songs) is actually a good indicator for me if a story is a solid idea. #writersofinstagram #writing #queerwriters #lgbtqwriter #music #tchaikovsky https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl1Ty6yrJa2/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
A Dearth of Representation, with hopes and dreams.
A Dearth of Representation, with hopes and dreams.
Since completing my debut novel, which is presently in the hands of my publisher at Brainspired Publishing, I have already started work on the second installment of the Mary Dubois Thriller series. Now that I’ve had that first drink of the nectar which pours from the fountain of the Imaginarium in my mind, I understand that it flows freely and is only limited by what I’m willing to write, by what…

Thinking about a redesign for my LGBTQIA YA Romance book Talk Nerdy to Me. Which one do you perfer the old cover (1) or the new (2)? Let me down below.
If you are struggling right now to focus, if you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or having trouble sleeping, you are not alone. If you're struggling to get work done, that's okay. If you're throwing youself into work, that's okay, too. For so many creative, sensitive people, for survivors of trauma and mental health warriors--including myself--it's been hard to focus during the pandwmic. We might be productive one day and not be able to the next. However you get through this pandemic, as long as it doesn't hurt you or anyone else, is it okay. Just be gentle with yourself. This is a tough time for us all. #NoShameInCoping #ShieldYourMentalHealh And remember to #ReachOutToConnect if you need it. It can help. https://bit.ly/2Vq3QX0 #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealthwarrior #mentalhealth #traumasurvivor #trauma #YAwriter #LGBTQwriter #booknerd #bookworm #ireadYA #survivor #feminist #YAlit https://www.instagram.com/p/B_VRdVAgEu8/?igshid=14el1jiri6uuv

#fantasyindiesdecember Dec 5: Christmas celebrations in your WIP Hey I have an answer for this! In Ode No. 1, the Swan Castle holds a Christmas ball every year. Pyotr wishes to attend it with his Swan Princel👑🦢 My greatest wish, my Christmas wish, is to be able to join you in my dreams so I may not only attend the ball, but make good on all the promises made in these letters. #writersofinstagram #writers #writing #lgbtqwriter #queerwriter https://www.instagram.com/p/ClzAnyWPX_M/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Ever since I wrote my memoirs “Breaking Free: 45 Years in the wrong body” ( Brainspired Publishing ), I have been itching to write about strong queer women of trans origin in a fictional story, I especially wanted to have this character positively represent the communities from which she hails. I did not want to go along with an heteronormative or male gaze based account of who this woman, the…
I want to keep updates posted of my progress this month but I find that I'm not keeping track based on word count, but on chapters. I do want to share my breakdown though--
100,000 words total
5 sections of 7 chapters each
20,000 words per section
2,900 words per chapter
This is the outline I'm using, so when I've finished a chapter I assume it falls into this estimate. In the end I'll run a comprehensive count. As long as each chapter is near 3k, I don't fret and move to the next.
So far, I have 8 of 35 chapters finished and it's the 7th day of NaNoWriMo. I could pick up the pace...
