sometimes the extent to which culture does not spread really just does kick you in the teeth. reading a blog post by someone who works in the Nordic pantheon faith and magic wise. Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #13

April 5-12 2024

President Biden announced the cancellation of a student loan debt for a further 277,000 Americans. This brings the number of a Americans who had their debt canceled by the Biden administration through different means since the Supreme Court struck down Biden's first place in 2023 to 4.3 million and a total of $153 billion of debt canceled so far. Most of these borrowers were a part of the President's SAVE Plan, a debt repayment program with 8 million enrollees, over 4 million of whom don't have to make monthly repayments and are still on the path to debt forgiveness.

President Biden announced a plan that would cancel student loan debt for 4 million borrowers and bring debt relief to 30 million Americans The plan takes steps like making automatic debt forgiveness through the public service forgiveness so qualified borrowers who don't know to apply will have their debts forgiven. The plan will wipe out the interest on the debt of 23 million Americans. President Biden touted how the plan will help black and Latino borrowers the most who carry the heavily debt burdens. The plan is expected to go into effect this fall ahead of the election.

President Biden and Vice-President Harris announced the closing of the so-called gun show loophole. For years people selling guns outside of traditional stores, such as at gun shows and in the 21st century over the internet have not been required to preform a background check to see if buyers are legally allowed to own a fire arm. Now all sellers of guns, even over the internet, are required to be licensed and preform a background check. This is the largest single expansion of the background check system since its creation.

The EPA published the first ever regulations on PFAS, known as forever chemicals, in drinking water. The new rules would reduce PFAS exposure for 100 million people according to the EPA. The Biden Administration announced along side the EPA regulations it would make available $1 billion dollars for state and local water treatment to help test for and filter out PFAS in line with the new rule. This marks the first time since 1996 that the EPA has passed a drinking water rule for new contaminants.

The Department of Commerce announced a deal with microchip giant TSMC to bring billions in investment and manufacturing to Arizona. The US makes only about 10% of the world's microchips and none of the most advanced chips. Under the CHIPS and Science Act the Biden Administration hopes to expand America's high-tech manufacturing so that 20% of advanced chips are made in America. TSMC makes about 90% of the world's advanced chips. The deal which sees a $6.6 billion dollar grant from the US government in exchange for $65 billion worth of investment by TSMC in 3 high tech manufacturing facilities in Arizona, the first of which will open next year. This represents the single largest foreign investment in Arizona's history and will bring thousands of new jobs to the state and boost America's microchip manufacturing.

The EPA finalized rules strengthening clean air standards around chemical plants. The new rule will lower the risk of cancer in communities near chemical plants by 96% and eliminate 6,200 tons of toxic air pollution each year. The rules target two dangerous cancer causing chemicals, ethylene oxide and chloroprene, the rule will reduce emissions of these chemicals by 80%.

the Department of the Interior announced it had beaten the Biden Administration goals when it comes to new clean energy projects. The Department has now permitted more than 25 gigawatts of clean energy projects on public lands, surpass the Administrations goal for 2025 already. These solar, wind, and hydro projects will power 12 million American homes with totally green power. Currently 10 gigawatts of clean energy are currently being generated on public lands, powering more than 5 million homes across the West.

The Department of Transportation announced $830 million to support local communities in becoming more climate resilient. The money will go to 80 projects across 37 states, DC, and the US Virgin Islands The projects will help local Infrastructure better stand up to extreme weather causes by climate change.

The Senate confirmed Susan Bazis, Robert White, and Ann Marie McIff Allen to lifetime federal judgeships in Nebraska, Michigan, and Utah respectively. This brings the total number of judges appointed by President Biden to 193

With an original model of 10 small, fully sustainable homes designed to temporarily accommodate homeless families, a group of UNAM students in the United States won first place in the Sustainable Solutions Competition, organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The pumas students in Louisiana beat the 15 finalists from various academic institutions around the world, and placed themselves in the first place above the University of California and Zhejiang, China.

Of the total group, 12 members are students from the Faculty of Engineering (FI), one from the Faculty of Architecture (FA) and another from the Faculty of Chemistry (CF), reported team captain Juan Josué Méndez Espina, a sixth semester student of Civil Engineering at FI.

Small dwellings are called transitional houses because they are sites for temporary accommodation in a small community, he explained.

“A transitional house is a social project for homeless people who arrive in one of these houses, integrate into the community of several houses, and later reintegrate into the economic sector of society,” he said.

It is not a hostel, which is a large place where several people and families meet to shelter, but a small, single-family home of up to four people, so that individuals can be independent within the community. “It is a great process of social reintegration,” he said.

In the competition they presented the project of 10 small round houses with solar panels on the ceilings and conditions to save water, which must be very economical in addition to the community being totally sustainable, Méndez Espina said.

Alejandro Gonzalez Olvera, from FI, from the sixth semester of Civil Engineering, narrated that the contest took place in two stages: One regional (which they won last May in Texas and where they faced more than 20 universities in the United States and Mexico), and now it is international, in which they competed with another 15 finalists.

“The triumph in the regional phase gave us the pass to attend the international competition, in Louisiana, where we faced universities from several countries, such as China, India and the United States,” he said. “It’s a worldwide recognition,” he said.

Mendez Espina said that they joined students of Architecture and Chemistry to have and apply a complete concept of sustainability, which involves other knowledge besides engineering, such as the application of mycorrhizal fungi, which are in symbiosis with the root of plants outside the houses, which improve soil characteristics, make it trap more water during rain and capture more carbon dioxide from the soil, and generate healthier vegetation.

The pumas students also won the Fan Favorite Award, in which they were above the 15 finalists in terms of popularity of the project.

The team participants, in addition to the three above, are: Laura Mosquada Brizuela, Luis Eduardo Gonzalez Mosquada, Oscar Daniel Ortiz Martinez, Jesus Collantes Rios, Ingrid Guzman Montijo, Alejandro Santiago Silva, Jose Manuel Soberanes Sanchez, Osmar Valdes Gachuz, Jesus Garcia Quintero, Juan Jose Ramos Texta, Jose Rodrigo Silverio Retana and Brenda Eugenia Monroy Coria.

For students, winning this award means setting the tone for more Mexican students to compete and participate in sustainable engineering, as it is the first time a Mexican university participates in this competition, reaches the finals and wins the competition.

Adam was NOT thrilled to learn that he'd have to be 'babysitting' some loser named "Y/N". All he could do was try to bitch and moan his way out of it to Sera but his complaints fell on deaf ears as there was no getting out of it. I quote "All angels must do it at some point while they're in heaven." Sera spoke with a stern tone. Psshhhhh, he knew that, but he didn't think that meant it would also apply to him. Now he didn't have as much time to do his chicks and gigs but it is what it is. From what he remembers about being a guardian angel, all he had to do was...

1. Protect them

2. Get them to avoid sin

3. Guide them from Point A to Point B

That shouldn't be TOO hard.

✟ First time back down on Earth since he died and the first thing he sees is you screaming "KILL YOURSELF" at someone in voice chat. Damn did you scream louder than the bitch he fucked last week. Already he wanted to leave but he had to stay with you for at least a couple times a week. Not only that but your room was a MESS! Don't you know sloth is a sin?? Empty bottles of water are scattered everywhere and your desk was a mess, things were collecting dust, and your bed is so undone like you were just raw dogging someone or being raw dogged

✟ After the first day of watching over you he could already tell that you were far from the path of god and possibly make him go insane from boredom so his genius little mind thought that if he was going to do this, then he was going to make it fun for himself

✟ Adam began to purposely knock things over in your house, rearrange items around, and call your out your name only for you to see no one. He found it hilarious that your seemed to piss your pants and think your house was possessed, he especially loved doing these things after you decided to watch any type of horror media at night or if you were home by yourself

✟ The jokes and laughs got boring very quickly since your reaction was always the same. After a bit he remembered that there was no rule that he couldn't show himself to the kid. Sure it should be obvious and common sense to not reveal yourself as all the other guardian angels never did it but that's an imaginary rule so it's not an official rule. Therefore, he isn't breaking ANY of the rules

You grumbled in pain as you had woken up with a bad migraine in the morning, the only upside was that your mom let you stay home from school today. Speaking of your mother, she had made you some caldo de res before heading to work so you'd feel better along with a cold can of sprite. As you were about to eat some of the caldo you saw the vase of a plant slightly move from the corner of your eye which paused your eating. Ever since last month your house had some creepy ghost shit happening and you were sure that you'd end up in a padded white room if you told anyone anything.

You decided not to pay it any attention as you took one last bite of your warm caldo until the vase fell off the shelf and crashed onto the floor.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE DEMON!"

You felt silly for shouting at an empty space in your home but you had enough of whatever spirit was haunting you, and your headache was not making it any better.

After a few seconds of silence you heard an very offended voice from behind you "Okay first of all, I'm not a fucking demon, second, don't yell at empty spaces unless you want people to think that you're a schizophrenie."

Were you dreaming?! Was this you finally loosing your shit from those all nighters? You turned around and almost broke your neck to look up at this guy...this dude was like 3x your height if not more!

You were stunned, you blinked once then twice then just put your empty dish in the sink.

"I need to…nap."

As you walked upstairs, you brought two fingers to forehead, your stomach, your right left then right shoulder, and up to your lips in a prayer of “En el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo. Amén.”

✟ You later confirmed that you weren't dreaming and this was in fact real after waking up to his smug toothy smile. It being day only a few hours ago and it now it was pitch black out side. His bright glowing neon yellow face being the only source of light in the room which also allowed you to see that his elbows were resting on the crinkled and wrinkled sheets of your bed as he held his face in his both of his hands.

—You'd be spoiled rotten with love and affection from the two Latinos, it's practically inevitable that you fall for them both.

—Alejandro and Rudy plan a grand dinner to invite you to join their relationship. They're overjoyed when you say yes, both of them placing an identical kiss on your hands.

—Be prepared for the abundance of endearing Spanish nicknames. They'll call you practically everything in the book. Alejandro's favorite pet name for you would probably be "Mi Príncipe," (my prince) or "Cariño" (dear) while Rudy loves calling you "Mi Vida" (my world/life) and "Mi Corazón". (my heart) Of course "Mi amor" (my love) is used just as often.

—I love the headcanon that Rudy's not a morning person so Alejandro usually wakes up before the two of you and spends his time admiring you both before (sometimes) getting up to do menial tasks or getting/making the two of you breakfast. Rudy often wakes up before you but he doesn't get up right away, instead he'll usually just admire you.

—They both wake you up in the softest fucking ways. Usually little kisses being placed all over your face while they whisper sweet things to encourage you to wake up. They love how peaceful you look while you're sleeping and will often times be very gentle with you in the mornings.

—They're both smitten. They love you so much they just can't live without you, they'll do practically anything just to make you smile at them.

—Praises. Praises. Praises. They'll constantly give you praises and compliments on both your body and mind. Lots of admiring whenever any piece of base clothing is shed. If you're shirtless it's hard for them to keep their hands off you, they love your arms and your chest and you best believe they will tell you that often.

—Alejandro loves having his hands on your waist and they'll often be resting there whenever you're near each other. Rudy often loves to hug you from the front, admiring your features before placing his forehead on yours. It's in this position where he'll rant about his day or ask about yours.

—Just love the thought of Rudy or Ale saying "Ese es mi chico guapo" (that's my handsome boy) NDHODWIDJODWDKANDWDFLIN-

Feather light kisses tickled your face, drawing you from the depths of slumber. You instinctively leaned into the feeling, smiling at the soft awakening. "Déjame ver esos lindos ojos.." (let me see those beautiful eyes.) Another kiss was planted on the high of your cheekbone. Your eyes fluttered open, a smile gracing your lips as your sights were filled with the face of your boyfriend, Rodolfo. He laid beside you, now caressing your face with the back of his hand. "There they are," he smiled, leaning in to kiss you properly. “Buenos días mi Corazón.” (Good morning) You hummed, leaning into his words, they never failed to make your heart flutter. “Good morning Rodolfo.” You placed your hand on his cheek, staring into his eyes. “Where’s Alejandro?” You asked, noticing the absence of arms wrapped around your waist and the lack of praising whispers in your ear from behind, which could only mean he was gone. “In the kitchen,” he grabbed your hand which was previously rested on his cheek, pressing a loving kiss to it. “He's making breakfast for us." As if on cue Alejandro cracked the door open. Peaking inside, his smile widened when he realized you were now awake. He was quick to be by your form, taking his rightful spot behind you on the bed. "Buenos días Cariño," he whispered softly in your ear, your heart fluttering as he peppered the side of your face in sweet kisses like Rudy had done before. You giggled, turning your head and cupping his face in your hand. "Good morning Ale," He admired your face for a minute, his smile turning into a smirk before he leaned down to kiss your lips. "Come now, I made us food!" Alejandro grinned wide before he scooped you up in his arms, carrying you bridal style. A gasp flew from your throat, despite this happening often enough it still always caught you off guard when one of your boys carries you like this. Rudy let out a chuckle as Alejandro spun you around slightly, singing a quick verse from one of the millions of Spanish love songs. He carried you into the dining room where the table had already been set, three plates sat in their respective spots already made to both you and Rudy's breakfast preferences, quiet music playing in the background. Alejandro sat you down on the dining table bench closest to the wall before taking his seat to your left, Rudy, sitting on your right. Both you and Rudy thanked Alejandro before digging into the meal. It was good, as always, and you made sure to relay that to Alejandro. You ate, mostly in silence yourself as you listened to your boys talk about upcoming expeditions and such. At some point Rudy had ended up breaking off bite sized pieces of bread just to feed you even after you insisted that it was fine. He only smiled, replying with a "I want to do this for you Guapo," and with the way he stared at you, you couldn't refuse. You finished before the both of them which allowed them both to grab one of your hands each as they continued to eat and talk. Rudy cleared the table leaving you with Alejandro who'd somehow gotten you slow dancing with him, "Words can't describe how much I feel for you mi amor." He placed a kiss to your forehead and you sighed. "I love you Ale," You cradled his face in your hands, "and you too Rudy." You added, feeling his hands slide onto your waist, his chest pressed against your back. You and Alejandro's hands dropped as you switched positions so that you were being wrapped into a hug by both of them. You all swayed slowly just relishing in each others presence, smiling as you savor the treatment you receive from your loving boyfriends.
