Day One of The Underrated And The Unwritten

Notes: eek i'm so excited to write for this fandom! Tbh i was kind of very slightly sad about everyone ending up with someone at the end because that meant it was awkward to ship characters or write about them with someone else but eh.

Warnings: this is both sfw and nsfw content! so like how would they be as a partner overall. mdni

Characters involved: Yuki Soma, Kyo Soma, Hatsuharu Soma, Momiji Soma

Gender-neutral reader, you/yours

Yuki Soma

Yuki is a very gentle lover and partner.

He's pretty conscious about his real personality can come off as cold or aloof which is why he'd probably force himself to be a little outgoing near the start to get to know you.

You'd have to start off as friends first and it would take a little getting used to but once he understands his emotions for you Yuki's quick to accept them and confess.

A relationship with Yuki can be full of excitement. He wants to try new things and discover different situations with you.

Yuki can easily associate happiness with someone who makes him feel comfortable which is why he tends to be around you when he's sad because he thinks your mere presence makes things better.

When it comes to being more intimate Yuki can take very long to get comfortable that way. He's so used to associating physical touch with violence that it really takes time for him to get used to your physical affection.

Definitely would be a bottom at the start, but once he gets used to it Yuki can be quite the switch.

He isn't into BDSM at all because of his traumatic childhood but if there's certain things you're into that you'd want to try you can always ask and have a talk.

He loves cuddling in bed for aftercare and will probably let you fall asleep in his arms (and then clean you up while you're sleeping because he's just that cute).

Communication is key when it comes to being with a guy like Yuki, whether that be in the bedroom or outside it, which is why you need to learn to be vocal about your emotions and thoughts because he can be a little oblivious at times.

He's honestly just a softy who needs love.

Kyo Soma

Tsundere. Need I say more?

Getting a confession out of Kyo Soma is possibly the most impossible thing ever. Like seriously, you need to be committed for a longgg time before he makes a move and even then you'll probably have to force a confession out of him.

He's the kind of partner who would act all annoyed whenever you're affectionate but then also do things like holding your hand when the street's too crowded or texting you to make sure you got home safe (but he completely denies that's why he sent you a text).

He also gives off old dad energy please he'll have the most awful dad jokes and hold his phone like a forty-year-old father.

Very protective. Will literally yowl at people who even look at you threateningly. And no I don't mean that 'manly' little growl thing men do in books, I mean literally yowling like a cat who wasn't fed.

This ranges from sneers to eyerolls plus scoffs to actual yowls. He will not be afraid to throw hands if he sees the other person is making you uncomfortable.

Kyo is honestly so cute when it comes to being intimate. He gets all flustered and you'll probably have to take the lead the first time. However, he might switch it up and take control halfway.

Really just depends on how comfortable and into it he is. Will hesitate a lot and ask you questions constantly.

Also the king of aftercare like literally doesn't let you do anything the rest of the day.

Kyo can be hard to keep up with as a partner because of his tendency to reject his emotions, but if you're someone who likes teasing their partner then he's basically perfect for you.

Just give him time to you, but don't be surprised if he's unwilling to leave once he has experienced your affection.

Hatsuharu Soma

Softie.

Haru is the type of partner who's obsessed with you but doesn't show it that much. It's not that he's trying to hide it but just that he's not very open affectionately.

He's fine with PDA and likes showing you off and making it clear that you're his but he can also be a little...slow when it comes to catching on.

This means that if you're ever jealous then he'll take a while to notice and then blatantly point it out. If you're angry/upset with him he won't understand it and will force you to talk to him because he refuses to read between the lines.

But he's such a sweetheart. He's always so comforting and will constantly check up on you, sending you messages or randomly showing up at your house because he missed you or wanted to make sure you were okay.

Dates with him are usually spontaneous and not overall grand but the kind that are simple yet romantic.

He's also very sweet when you're intimate.

Switch but not in the way you think.

While his normal side can be quite the pleasure dom/soft dom, when Haru goes dark things can get a bit...BDSM like. However, him going dark that way is very rare and will probably only happen if you make him very jealous/worried.

Momiji Soma

He is such an obsessive partner.

Momiji wants to know everything about you. He wants to learn every little quirk and secret, every small trait. Your favourite flower, food you dislike, drama going on in your life, Momiji is there for it all.

He's just so completely infatuated with you he can't help but feel a need to know everything.

It's not the kind of thing where he asks you questions at rapid fire trying to learn everything, but more that he's just always wanting to get to know more about you.

Momiji has always had to love people from a distance so he gets a little excited at the prospect of being able to love you without restrictions, without having to pretend he doesn't know you or doesn't care.

He's quick to confess and even quicker to get into the hang of things, constantly hugging you and dropping kisses on your hand, face, lips, neck, anywhere you would allow.

Momiji is fully and completely obsessed with you, and he loves it. He loves you.

He will rear it in if you feel like he's getting overwhelming but Momiji cannot not love you.

When it comes to being intimate, Momiji might be a little overwhelmed at first, like too excited, and you'd have to help ground him and focus on the actual act rather than going crazy because your top's off.

He can be so soft and gentle, almost as if he's afraid to break you, but once he gets the hang of it Momiji's open to exploring new things.

He isn't one for BDSM (like at all, honestly he's more opposed to it than Yuki) and prefers more of the lovemaking type of intimacy.

“hi,” you greet KYO with a perky tone that has him eyeing you suspiciously as you sidle up next to him. “what are you up to?” he asks and you can’t help but roll your eyes. “nothing. i just wanted to ask you something.” kyo doesn’t respond but he’s looking at you in anticipation so you continue, “would you kiss me for $10 or the prettiest girl in the world for $700?” it’s his turn to give you a quick eye roll which earns him a playful slap on the arm. “answer my question.” he sighs in resignation before replying definitively, “i’d kiss you for ten dollars.” “wow,” you drawl but a teasing smile tugs at your lips, “so you don’t think i’m the prettiest girl in the world?” kyo lightly bonks your head. “i already answered your question.”

over video call, you’re halfway through a game of 20 questions with YUKI when you ask him, “would you kiss the prettiest girl in the world for $700 or me for only ten bucks?” and you don’t expect him to already come up with an answer in an instant. “normally,” he says with emphasis, pausing for a second before he continues, “i’d kiss you.” you immediately feel your eyes turn into saucers. “what do you mean ‘normally’?!” yuki cracks up but he doesn’t relent, “i’m in college. i would need the money.” “i’m actually gonna break up with you.” he laughs harder at the empty threat before schooling his features as if to appease you, “you know you’re the most beautiful girl to me. i’d kiss you for 700 dollars.” “nice save.”

minutes have passed since you asked HATSUHARU your question yet all you’ve gotten from him so far is the blank expression on his face—he seems to be pondering over it as he stares into the distance. “so…” you speak, easing him out of his thoughts, “what’s your answer?” he then looks you in the eye and says, “i’d kiss you.” at the tip of your tongue sits a teasing comment in an attempt to dare hatsuharu to name someone prettier than you but he cuts you off with a kiss, his lips on yours, immediately wiping the smirk off your face. when he eventually pulls away, his expression is still as neutral as ever. “that’s ten dollars.” bastard.

“hi, tori.” you walk over to HATORI where he’s sat at his desk, reading some files at the moment but he doesn’t mind your intrusion into his workspace. “hi, sweetheart.” “you busy?” “i have time,” he says as he takes off his glasses. “okay. i have a question.” hatori swivels in his chair away from his table, making room for you to sit on his lap which you happily do. “okay,” you repeat, “would you kiss me for ten dollars or the prettiest girl in the world for 700?” that is the last thing hatori expected to come out of your mouth but he decides to play along, taking his time to mull it over. “just say i’m ugly,” you joke which elicits a chuckle from him. “you know i don’t think that.” “then what’s your answer?” “i would kiss you,” he says sincerely. as soon as he catches the telltale sign of you holding back a smirk, he quickly adds, “don’t ask-” “who’s prettier than me then?” you interrupt, satisfied with yourself when hatori only sighs. he knew it.

APRIL SHOWERS, MAY BRING FLOWERS.

With spring rolling around, he couldn’t help but peer at the dainty, blushed petals that floated down from the cherry blossom trees. Every step was like he was walking on a cloud— whimsical, inviting— and only the lull of passing cars gave contrast to the twinkling of the bright sunlight.

Is this a date? He thought, continuing down the pathway. Or perhaps he was just overthinking. Maybe this was just all a misunderstanding that his fluttering heart convinced him with. No, no. You couldn’t possibly like him back. While ruminating within his thoughts, his feet come to an abrupt stop.

“You’re here!”

The sound of your voice was like the rays of sun beaming through the cracks of the branches. His eyes tore away from the pavement below and locked onto the bright ones that dazzled upon your face. Perhaps he had been staring for too long, as the silence of the situation dawned on him. Act fast.

“Hey,” he cooly replied, closing the gap between the both of your figures.

A mere chuckle let out from your lips, and you turned around to continue to walk down the flowery path. “I wasn’t late, right?”

“No, no… Or maybe I’m early. So that makes you extra late,” he playfully quipped, nudging you gently on the shoulder. He knew you would roll your eyes at that comment. Oh, you actually did.

“It’s 12:15 on the dot,” you protested, “Our set time is 12:20. So technically, we’re both late by your terms.”

He stifled a laugh and quickly turned his head to the side, finding solace in the presence of you and the blooming blue bells, fluttery cherry blossom petals, and tulips. He would put you in the same category with the flowers, nonetheless.

“Always so pretty during this season,” you commented, following his line of sight to gaze at the tiny flowers that dotted along the path. You reached down to graze the tips of your fingers along one. A quick glance from the flowers onto the soft looking hair of yours— The tempted words spilt from his mouth.

“They’re always pretty every season.”

The wind whistled tales of lamentation across the desolate landscapes of Sumeru, dancing with the grains of sand in the air. The heat had established its reign, stealing every living being's breath, leaving them parched enough to see stars in their wake. Amid that deep dejection, appeared a wisp of woven dreams and glittering stardust— an oasis. It was almost as if the winds had sung the wishes of the living to the Gods; and they had granted it.

You had your back pressed to the bark of a young palm tree which formed a part of the vegetation that thrived due to the kindness of the oasis, watching the once general mahamatra having the time of his life while he kept himself afloat on the surface of the crystal clear water.

"Aren't you going to take a dip, cub?" Cyno raised his eyebrows at you, swimming to the edge of the pool.

"Hmm?" You snapped out of your reverie, processing what he asked, "Um, I don't feel like it. Why don't you go on ahead and enjoy?"

He placed both his arms on the sandy surface of the raised edge which kept in the water of the oasis and rested his chin over them. With his cape gone, his mane of silver hair celebrated its freedom framing his face, dripping crystals of water due to its wetness. He tilted his head a little and gave you a small smile, his eyes catching a sort of glimmer that made your breath hitch. Gaze as sharp as thorns yet complete with the gentleness of rose petals, blooming in that exquisite colour of blood; it hit you how weak he made you. You never wished him to realize how much you wanted to make him the air you breathed, the tears you blinked and the home you lived in. You'd never let him know how much you were prepared to lose for him. Not even when you stroked his hair while he slept or in your dreams, you'd never tell him.

A stray tear trickled down the slope of your cheek as you folded in on yourself, realizing how far you'd fallen into this chasm of love. You quickly swiped your thumb over your face, wishing Cyno hadn't seen the drop of tear glistening on your cheek.

"Why do you appear so nervous all of a sudden?" he posed, "Don't tell me you're afraid of the water."

Glad that he hadn't got a whiff of what actually had you so shaken up, you snapped your fingers to cover your embarrassment with a little bit of coolness as you said, "Bingo. I honestly can't swim."

You watched him throw his head back as he chuckled, shoulders dancing to the rhythm of reverberations of his carefree laughter. You didn't mind him laughing at your silly revelation, you loved it when his lips parted like that in mirth, how the corners of his eyes crinkled with his eyes squeezed such as if there was not a care in the world. You loved it when he let his guard down around you like that, as if he wanted you to know in secret how much he trusted you. It made you want to crumble to dust and be part of the sand below you. It was too much, you felt like your heart would burst with this sweetness.

"That's it?" he sighed from all that laughter, "You really think you'd drown when I'm here?"

"I believed it best to not make a fool of myself," I said casually, "But since you insist..."

You rose from your sitting position with closed eyes and threw yourself into the water. The cold hit you hard, jamming your lungs, but you wanted Cyno to know that you trusted him like he did you. Soon enough, you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist and you were pulled out to the surface.

Gasping for breath, you held onto Cyno with everything you had. When you finally blinked the water out of your eyes, you found his ruby eyes fixated on you, searching for any kind of fear he could help disperse. He held onto you like any man would his heart, tender as a feather yet strong as iron.

He closed his eyes and pressed a kiss to your forehead, whispering against your skin," I'd never let go of you, cub."

Words would never be able to describe the flutter of butterflies breaking free from your heart's cage as you let yourself fall into him further with a nervous kiss you could no longer contain.

With your lips on his and his on yours, both of you had forged the unspoken seal of love.

he's definitely the type to almost accidentally suffocate you giving you a hug.... he saw aia give scarle a hug (she wanted a faceful of boobs.....) and wanted to feel what it felt like, so he went up to you and engulfed you, possibly almost killing you in the process..

Early Mornings in the Rengoku household were always the best part of the day for the newlyweds. The smell of freshly brewed tea wafting through the air paired with the Melancholy noise of sizzling fish was a staple of every good morning. “Hello, my love” stepping into the kitchen through the side door leading to the back gardens Kyojuro leaned into his wife, placing a quick kiss on her temple so as to not distract her from the fish she was grilling. “Good morning, how are you? How was your sparring session with Giyu?” Kyojuro chuckled, leaning over your shoulder to steal a piece of dried seaweed you had already plated. “He continues to challenge me; Water is supposed to be a formidable opponent for fire.” You nodded along with what he was saying, the familiar crunch of the seaweed filled the sudden silence making you turn your head towards the noise. “Kyojuro! I’m almost done with this! Go take the plates to the table, please! Quit it!” He chuckled as he shoved another piece of seaweed in his mouth. He smiled, cheeks full of dried seaweed as he took the bowls of rice from the counter and walked back to the table. “I would like you to come to one of our sessions. Mitsuri will be joining our next one, the fluidity of water and love of breathing work well together and they would like to attack at the same time, I would love for you to be there.” Coming back into the kitchen for the last few plates Kyojuro smiled, stopping next to you to look at you. “I would love for my beautiful wife to spend time with my friends” You smiled up at him, matching his own grin before turning back to the plate you were trying to transfer the fish too. “I’m sure I can come to the next one, when will you be sparing next?” He hummed, taking the plate from your hands as you slid the last piece on it. He left the room, letting you trail behind with the pot of tea you swiped from the stovetop. “Mitsuri just left for a mission and giyu is visiting his mentor later today. Depending on if I get a mission or not we shall have our next sparing session in 2 days!” that was a good amount of time to shop for a meal big enough to feed the four of you. Sparring sessions were usually held at your home or Giyu’s residence, Mitsuri’s was currently under repair after a small house fire caused by one of her cats getting ahold of the outdoor lantern. “Wonderful, I will send a message to the two of them, we shall have it here!” Setting down the plate of fish before taking the teapot from you kyojuro hummed to himself as he helped you into your seat. This was a typical morning. Kyojuro was often energized the second he stepped through the gates of his home. It was easy to feel instantly relaxed at the prospect of seeing your recently wed wife and the beautiful little home you had together. There were still knick nacks in crates, carefully wrapped and waiting to be unpacked and used to decorate the empty space on shelves, but that was for later, right now it was time for breakfast. “How was your night?” you asked, carefully scooping a larger portion of fish onto your husband's plate. He smiled, moving around you to gift you pieces of seaweed and vegetables. “It was a decent night, there seems to be more movement closer to the western part of my territory, I worry it may grow to something more. I expect a longer mission soon. Within a week is my guess. Besides that and training, it was rather good” You deflated at that, pausing your chopsticks to meet his gaze. He gave a half-smile already knowing how the rest of this conversation will go. “That soon?” you sighed “I guess it was a lot to expect to keep you to myself for a while longer.” It had been exactly two weeks since your wedding. Master Ubuyashiki was kind enough to give Kyojuro a few days off for the two of you to settle into your new home and your marriage. Since then he’s been going to slay demons at night and you would spend the very early mornings together before he went to rest and you continued on trying to decorate the house and start a garden. It was a routine you had become fond of, one Kyojuro found himself excited to start. “I’m sorry. I would like to stay here and come home to you. But things are getting worse and we need more help.” He let out a sigh of his own, digging back into his food. Breakfast passed in silence after that, just the clinking of utensils and the porcelain you ate out of. Kyojuro stood first, collecting the empty plates as you sat with your tea, savoring the mint flavor and the warmth it brought you. You stood as Kyojuro came back in to collect the second round of dishes, helping him gather the rest and wipe the table off. Stopping in front of the sink Kyojuro placed the dishes down before turning to you. “Come lay with me, I would like to spend more time than the morning with you before I am sent away for who knows how long” His fingers crawled around your waist, pulling you closer to him and into the warmth he naturally provided. “I have to clean all of this and I still have to water the-“ He stopped you with a quick kiss, smiling against your lips before standing up straight again. “That all can wait, plus it will rain later. Please, come with me?” You couldn’t say no to the pout he had on his lips, and droopy eyelids that begged to go lay down and rest. He looked so soft and you couldn’t resist. “Alright my love, we can rest.” You chuckled at the way he lit up, quickly taking your hand and dragging you to the bedroom, the futon already set up and ready for you.

Okay, so, I actually love the thought of queer relationships between the zodiac. It's always been very cute to me, plus it would save them from turning into an animal when they want affection.

Also, for these headcanons, let's just say that trans men/transmascs don't have any effect so that it stays inclusive! (I know Fruits Basket isn't the most trans-inclusive, but we're ignoring that)

Anyway, this would most likely take place before you two start dating. I doubt he'd be the type to commit to a relationship before revealing this part of himself. He's not good at this sort of thing.

So, right now, y'all are just friends. Most likely, you met at school. You're in the same class, or you met through one of his cousins/Tohru.

At first, he avoided you. It had nothing to do with you in particular - he just hates being social. Eventually, you do manage to interact with him, and he decides you're chill enough to be around. So you two become friends.

One day, you, Kyo, Tohru, and Yuki are hanging out outside of school. This is the first time you've hung out with them outside of school, so this is new territory for you. Specifically, the four of you went to the library to study for an upcoming test.

You sat in a back corner, away from everyone else. Tohru had gotten up to go grab a book, but she tripped over the leg of the chair. Kyo was sitting next to her, and he's the one she falls into. Suddenly, there's a puff of smoke, and when it clears, you see Tohru holding an orange cat, and Kyo is nowhere to be seen.

Tohru and Yuki look panicked, and you're confused. The two of them scramble to come up with some kind of explanation, but all you can think about is how adorable the cat is. You assume it's Kyo, although you couldn't explain what happened.

Tohru had put Kyo down by this point, and he walks across the table to get to you. His eyes have the same deadpan look they usually do, which is funnier in his cat form. Sensing no hostility from you, Yuki and Tohru are able to calm down a little bit, and Yuki is able to get a proper explanation out. You process only some of his words, too focused on how cute Kyo looks.

Without much thought, you scoop him up in your arms, gently holding him close. Kyo makes a startled noise, but doesn't struggle too much. Yuki looks amused as he ushers Tohru away, intent on giving you two some alone time.

Kyo asks you what you think you're doing, and you're shocked he can still speak in this form. You shyly explain that you just thought he looked cute, and your body kind of just moved on its own. You go to put him down, but he doesn't budge from your arms. It's barely audible, but you swear you heard him say something about him enjoying the embrace. You chuckle at that as you hold him tighter. If you listen closely, you can almost hear him purring softly.

Then, another puff of smoke appears. When it dissipates, you see Kyo standing in front of you, back to his regular human form. Except for the fact that he's completely naked. You turn away, flustered that you saw him in such a state. Kyo also turns around, tripping over himself as he looks for his clothes. Neither of you speak a word, and it's around this time that Yuki and Tohru make their return.

Yuki still looks amused by the situation, choosing to tease Kyo. Tohru is immediately flustered, still not used to seeing the boys after they transform back. As the boys continue fighting, Tohru comes up to you, asking if you're okay. She knows from personal experience that this kind of situation can be startling, so she wants to make sure that you're feeling alright. When you respond in the affirmative, she smiles.

Kyo and Yuki stop bickering, and Kyo is fully dressed once again. He can't quite make eye contact with you, but he does apologize for what happened, if in his own tsundere way. You laugh a bit, explaining that you're fine, just a bit shocked at what just happened. The three nod, as they can all understand how you feel.

By this point, none of you are in the mood for studying anymore, so you decide to pack up for the night. As you walk out of the library, you turn away from them, as your home is in the opposite direction of where they live. However, you feel something grab your hand, and when you turn to look, you see Kyo. He's still not making eye contact, and his face is a little red, but his grip on your hand is strong.

Quietly, he asks if he can walk you home. You're shocked, and you can hear Tohru cheering in the background as Yuki tries to silence her. After a moment to recover from the shock, you smile and him and squeeze his hand, accepting his offer. He makes eye contact with you for the first time since the incident, and you can see a small smile appear on his face. He tells the others that he'll meet them at home, and you're on the way to your house.

As you walk, Kyo explains everything in as much detail as he can. He leaves out all of his family drama, as that's a story for another day, but he does bring up his curse and how it works. You jokingly remark that he wouldn't transform with you, since you're both boys, and he laughs a bit at that. He gestures to your hands, still interlocked, and states that even holding hands with a girl would cause him to transform. That makes you laugh as well.

Soon you're back home, and he drops you off at your door. He squeezes your hand one last time before letting it go, and he asks if you'd like to hang out again, to which your agree. You do make one more sly comment about wanting to see him as a cat again, telling him that he looked oh so adorable. He groans, but it's all in good humor. He leaves, already thinking of plans for next time.

The two of you don't start dating right away. It takes more time, but this is the first major step. Also, he's willing to be more affectionate with you because he knows he won't transform. It's nothing more than hand-holding on leaning against you for right now, but when you do start dating, he gets very clingy, especially in public.

You don't get to see him transform that often since you don't cause any of his transformations, but when you do get to see it, it's always a treat. He gets so flustered when he transforms, and it worsens when he transforms back to human. You've gotten used to the nakedness after the first few times, but he never quite does, especially when you're around. It's cute.

after witnessing your failed attempts at making one rice ball, KYO suddenly decides to join you in the kitchen, “pay attention. i’ll only teach you once.” you fight back a smile because you know he’ll keep teaching you as long as you keep asking but you don’t point that out lest he change his mind. you expect kyo to grab a handful of rice. instead, he stands right behind you and cages you in his arms, putting his hands over yours to help you mold the clump of rice you already have in your palms. when you’re reminded of his curse, you quickly spin on your heels and push him away, dropping your rice ball in the process. to your surprise, kyo doesn’t seem remotely offended by your action. he’s more focused on the clusters of rice now scattered around your feet. a click of his tongue hits your ears before you hear him say, “you just wasted a good rice ball.” however, the expression on his face is free of disappointment—a small smile slowly curls on his lips as he waits for a realization to dawn on you and eventually, it does. “you’re…” you mutter in disbelief, caressing his face as if to convince yourself you’re not dreaming, “you’re not a cat…” at your reaction, kyo’s chuckles cuts through the momentary silence before he holds you in his arms, pressing a soft kiss on the top of your head in wordless confirmation—this is real. and you immediately return his affection, not wanting to wait another second to bask in his touch. you don’t know which higher power to thank but you still find yourself silently expressing your gratitude like a prayer now that kyo’s curse is lifted. when you pull away, he reaches for the bowl of rice behind you. “this isn’t enough for the two of us,” he deadpans as if a life-changing moment didn’t just happen. you’re itching to ask him when he knew but you deem it a conversation for another time when a suggestion suddenly pops in your head. “we can go out and celebrate instead,” you say cheekily, “i’ve always wanted to try this cat café.” kyo rolls his eyes and you can’t help but laugh. “what?” you defensively exclaim in between giggles, “cats won’t cling to you anymore.”

ever since YUKI went away for college, the only time you’ve really had with each other is when he comes home to visit. you usually have an itinerary prepared but this time, yuki decides to ditch all that. “you have a surprise for me?” you teased him once on video call. yuki simply shrugged, laughing. you tried to coax it out of him but he didn’t budge. “if i told you then it wouldn’t be a surprise,” he countered and when you gave him a pout, he added, “i’ll just see you at home, okay? i love you.” so here you are now, sat in your living room while you wait for yuki to arrive. thankfully, it’s not long before you hear a click from the lock of your front door. “yuki!” you beam at the sight of him and he immediately mirrors your expression. you’re about to take his bags when he swings them out of your reach, carelessly dropping his things to the floor before he snakes his arms around your middle. in a panic, you freeze in his touch and soon, you’re attempting to shove him off of you. “yuki, your curse!” you cry but he only snuggles further into your body. and that’s when it hits you. the boy you love hasn’t turned into a rodent which can only mean one thing—there’s no more curse. you don’t know when or how and as hard as you try, you’re unable to form words to ask yuki about it with your emotions beginning to take over you. yuki only chuckles at your lack of response, “surprise.”

HATORI immediately stops in his tracks upon the sudden sensation, “did you feel that?” “huh?” hatori is almost sure what he felt but he decides to brush it off at your confusion. “tori, you okay?” you ask, raising your hands to cradle his face but he involuntarily flinches at the closeness in case it triggers the curse. “sorry,” you quickly add. he shakes his head, declining your apology, “it’s fine.” you don’t talk about it any further on the rest of the way home but you’ve already reached your doorstep and he still seems distracted. you don’t want to part ways like this so you try again, “are you sure you’re feeling okay?” he doesn’t answer. “hatori?” “can i…” he starts before trailing off hesitantly. he doesn’t finish the rest of his sentence. without a word, he steps closer until there’s barely an inch between you then he wraps you in his embrace. “hatori, no!” you try to push him away in panic but you catch yourself in that same instant when you realize he hasn’t turned into a seahorse. holding your breaths, you both wait in silence for the curse to take effect but the next thing you feel is hatori’s arms tightening around you, making it clear he’s not planning on letting you go anytime soon. before your emotions can get the better of you, a chuckle is bubbling past your lips in relief, releasing any tension that has filled the air. “you have a lot of cuddles to make up for,” you tease hatori but your voice comes out weakly as you keep your tears at bay. and with you in his arms, hatori has never felt so grateful, “then let’s stay like this for a little while.”

“hi,” you beam at SHIGURE the moment he enters your home, “how was your day?” he doesn’t answer right away as if to ponder your question. “it was…” he momentarily trails off before adding, “interesting.” your eyebrows knot in confusion and that’s when you notice something’s off about him but before you can pose another question, shigure leans closer until he’s almost just about your eye level. “can i have a kiss?” he asks before he’s pouting his lips, sporting an effective pair of puppy eyes as you would expect from the dog incarnate. but all that effort only earns him a dubious look from you which elicits a dramatic sigh out of his mouth, “you know i’ve had a long day.” you can’t help but snort at his sulking but you eventually grant him his request. you’re careful to maintain a distance to avoid triggering the curse but in a swift and sudden motion, shigure pulls you flush against him as he kisses you with more fervor. your poor attempt to push him away does little to nothing against his strong arms that he can’t help but smirk against your lips. soon, he’s pulling away, his visage looking brazen as ever, “what’s wrong?” completely stunned and stupefied, you struggle to form the words on your tongue but a single thought plays in your mind—the curse is broken. when your eyes begin to well up, shigure’s cocky grin is immediately replaced with a smile so sincere that it’s such a striking contrast to the words that come out of his mouth, “we can do whatever we want.” then he’s kissing you again.

Headcanon: Kyo & Kazuma

Kyo's mother suicide happens in the end of February, Kyo has just turned 5yo the previous January.

In the few days between his mother's death and the funeral, Kyo's father brings him to the Cat's House and tells him that he will ask Akito to lock him up right after the funeral so that Kyo will pay for his crime.

During the funeral, Kazuma is upset by the treatment Kyo is receiving and brings him away with him. Kyo is relieved to be taken away but still he is very wary of Kazuma. He doesnt understand why this strange big man took pity of him and he doesnt trust him at all.

Right after the funeral, Kyo's father goes to Akito to make clear he has no intention to take care of Kyo by himself, and demands for Kyo to be imprisoned straight away.

Akito asks where is Kyo, and is told that Kyo is with Kazuma. Kazuma is immediately summoned by Akito, who asks him if he is aware of the Cat's Spirit true form. Kazuma says he knows about it, even though he has never seen it. Akito has already seen Kyo's true form when Kyo was 3yo. She is disgusted by it and she would like to grant Kyo's father request. But Akira points out that it might not be a good idea to lock the Cat up at such a young age, because he might not survive the hard life in the Cat's House, and if he dies it might take several years for another Cat to be born, and that would be bad for all the other zodiacs. So Kazuma is given permission to keep Kyo, but only providing that he will witness the true form transformation. An appointment for the demonstration to happen is organised for two weeks later, around mid March.

During these two weeks, Kyo doesnt talk at all and refuses to be touched. Kazuma tries his best to earn the boy's trust, but Kyo is scared and wary. During the day he hides and stubbornly refuses to say a word. He has nightmares every night about his mom and about the Cat's House, but when Kazuma tries to comfort him and hug him, Kyo swats his arms away, hides under the bed and remains silent.

The night before the appointment with Akito, Kyo is inconsolable, and cries all night long. Kazuma asks him if he can give him just one hug but Kyo denies the request, so Kazuma just sits by his bed until the morning.

The day after, the true form transformation is performed in front of Akito, Akira, Kazuma and Kyo's father. Kazuma doesn't bat an eyelid and is more determined than ever to keep Kyo with him, so eventually Akito grants his request.

Kyo and Kazuma go back home. Kyo is shaken and exhausted and falls immediately into a deep sleep. When he wakes up in the morning, he finds Kazuma by his bed.

"How are you feeling?" Kazuma asks.

Kyo doesnt answer. He just stares at Kazuma for a very long time. Then, completely out of the blue, he asks "Do you still want to hug me?"

Kazuma is shocked, both for hearing Kyo talking and also for the request. After a second of hesitation he answers: "I would love to hug you"

Kyo keeps staring at him: "...even after what you saw yesterday?"

Kazuma looks deep into Kyo's eyes and says: "especially after what I saw yesterday"

Kyo feels his eyes getting a little watery while he stretches his arms up and allows Kazuma to hug him tight.

Few days later, Kyo and Kazuma are having a walk outside. It's the end of March now, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Kyo has started speaking to Kazuma and when he gets very scared and sad at night he allows Kazuma to hug him. He is tearing down the wall he had built around himself, little by little, but it's a long way to go, especially when there are still so many people looking at him with hatred and contempt.

But suddenly Kyo feels himself being lifted by Kazuma's strong arms.

"From now on, you are going to breath the air of higher places"

being a magician’s assistant to her brother is a tiring thing, at least for today. all lynette wants to do is go home and go into your warm arms.

lynette opened the door to her current residence with a huge sigh, an unpleasant aura surrounded her. today was indeed an exhausting day, just like what she thought, and she went home first before her brother.

she scanned the entire room, before spotting you laying on the comfortable couch, reading some sort of book while you gently sipped your tea… you looked so relaxed and content — in contrast to her current self.

with a weak smile, she approached you from behind, resting her chin on top of your head. you didn’t flinch in surprise, nor did you react. you simply mumbled a meek ‘hi’, closing your book as you shifted your gaze to her violet eyes.

she can only smile at your lazy mutters, climb up from behind the couch and set herself in your lap. ah, sometimes you forget she has feline blood and has many traits similar to that of a cat.

you chuckled as you wrap your arms around her back and her waist, bringing her closer to feel the warmth of your arms. you didn’t mind if she tossed the book you’re currently reading somewhere, all that matters to you is her being comfortable in your arms.

lynette didn’t say anything, she just buried her head in your chest, nuzzling on there contently. the only sound you can hear in this comfortable quiet room is the soft purr from lynette and the sound of your clothes rubbing against hers.

your free hand began to wander from her back to her head, your fingertips brushing against her slight messy hair. her ears twitched slightly when you began to pat her head, her tail wagging left and right slowly. she always enjoys your gentle touch—it never fails to calm her messy heart after a bad day.

these few minutes are filled with comfortable silence accompanied by your loving and affectionate gesture for lynette. of all things, this is what lynette really needs after a long day. to be in your arms, to cuddle you and kiss you, to spend her time with you.

you pressed a tender kiss right on the star-shaped mark on her left cheek once she got even more comfortable. she smiled, pressing a kiss on your collar bone in return. you could see a faint pink-ish color on the tip of her cheeks.

the two of you keep sharing lazy yet tender kisses to each other — from forehead, cheeks, jawline, neck, and even lips if you’re feeling brave enough.

the more lazy kisses you gave to lynette, the more sleepy she got. you tried to hold your giggle when you saw her sleeping state after you kissed her lips for the third time. lifting up her body as you tried to switch to a more comfortable lying position, you tried to not move too much and not make any noises in order to not wake her up suddenly.

after a few attempts, you can finally lay comfortably with your sleeping sweetheart on top of you. you can feel her tail wrapped around your waist to prevent her from falling off your body, while her arms wrapped around your neck and her head resting on your chest.

you tried to pick up your book but it was too far from the couch and lynette had her whole body pinned against yours, so you have nothing to do now. you could just watch her sleeping face for hours, or simply fall asleep with her… it’s up to you now.
