"You.. dont have to lie, Vox.. I can take it." With your sleeves, you wiped your tears the best you could, breath coming in soft, short gasps.

"No- Don't. I love you." Vox didn't let you shy away this time. He pulled you into his arm, burying his face into your hair, pulling you into his chest. "I.. i love you, so so much."

"..I can't.. imagine a world without you. Darling.. You are my light. I'm.. im so sorry."

Every second, Vox hated himself. He'd ignored you, and expected you to be alright. He was a shitty boyfriend. A shitty person.

He slowly pulled his head away, and pressed a kiss to your forehead, "i love your laugh.." to your cheek, "your smile.." your nose, "the way you.. always light up a room.." neck, "i love you."

Resting his forehead against your own, Vox could feel his own tears threatening to spill. "I'm.. im sorry. I've been- so shitty. I didn't think and I-"

You cut him off with a kiss to his lips.

While he was mending your heart, he felt his own ache even more.

"Darling.."

"...Please.. Vox, if you ever- i mean.. if you don't-"

"I will always love you."

From that point on, Vox had made it his goal, no, his mission to ensure your heart was always filled. To ensure he would never be the cause of your pain again. With your help, he balanced work and his friends, and left plenty of time for you.

He vowed never.. to ever make you feel unloved by him again.

You knew what you were getting into, going into a relationship with Shu.

Or at least, you thought you did. As friends, it felt as though the two of you were inseparable: and when you confessed, and Shu returned your feelings, you had expected it to become even more so.

Turns out, you were wrong.

Sure, the first few weeks, months, were good: Shu was a lovebird, constantly showering you in affection, constantly making you laugh. He would light up your day effortlessly, and you his.

Until he didn't.

Shu was always so caught up in his work. You expected that.. yet he still made time for others. The few, and far inbetween times you did spend, Shu was exhausted- which, was to be expected. More nights than not, you slept alone, and awoke alone. Mealtimes, sure, Shu was still there; but seeing him..

..Well, you couldn't help it.

Couldn't help how empty your heart felt.

Without his laughter, his odd jokes, everything.

Which.. left you to believe, Shu didn't love you anymore.

one day, as he was gone, you made up your mind. You wouldn't- no, couldn't stay in an environment like this.

So, as you made dinner for the two of you, you had decided to ask him, straight up.

.."Shu?"

Looking up from his food, you felt your stomach drop. "Yeah? What's up?"

Were you really about to do this? It.. could ruin everything. But.. i don't want him to feel pressured, or.. obligated, to be in a relationship with me..

"Do you.."

"...do you still love me?"

Silence. The only sound- was silence. Your heart, slowly tearing apart, and Shu, staring at you with utter confusion.

Quickly, to hide your tears and guilt, you looked up at him. "Its- nevermind."

Shoving yourself away from the table, you made to stand, only for a force to crash into you and send you stumbling against the counter.

"Eh? Sh-"

"Im.. im so sorry."

His voice cracked, arms tightening around your body, head burying into your neck.

Was he.. crying?

"It.. it isnt- i do love you." Shu held you closer, as realization crashed over him in waves. Of what he'd done.

Your own tears spilling over, as he patched your heart.

"You.." "i.. i.. heck."

"You dont have to- say it. If you don't mean it."

Shu leaned his head away to look you in your eyes. "I do. I've been.. yeesh, terrible.."

During that moment of Shu holding you, you could practically feel his regret. You could see it in his eyes.

He'd never meant to hurt you.

And he'd never make the same mistake again.
