[convertplayer id="sqBr5UEwM" width="700" height="525"] Through the Bible with Les Feldick LESSON 3 * PART 3 * BOOK 48 Hebrews 4:12-16 A lot of people, as they catch our program, see this class setting and wonder who we are. Well we’re just a layman, and I’m a cattle rancher from Oklahoma, and I make no apology for that. The Lord has just sort of given us an opportunity to teach the Word to anybody from 7 to - oh we get listeners way up in the 90’s, and the answer is almost always the same. "Been in church all my life, 94 years old and I’ve learned more in the last 3 months than I did in 93 years." Well, I give the Lord the credit for that because we’ve been able to just open the scriptures without attacking anyone. I see no purpose in pointing out other people’s faults and so forth. We’re just going to simply look at what the Scripture says and trust the Holy Spirit will direct it to the hearts where they need it. So now let’s go right on with our study in Hebrews 4 and we’re going to go right in to verse 13. And remember in our last half hour we were pointing out how that the Word of God is so powerful and is totally capable of separating even the soul and spirit as you could if you were a medical person, separate the joints and marrow. All right, now then we go into the verse. Hebrews 4:13a "Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: In other words it’s just tied to this same concept that the Word of God is able to just simply penetrate into those areas that nothing else can do and so there is nothing, no creature that is not manifest in his sight. I always like to define that word manifest as a light under a microscope. That, until you turn that little powerful light on to beam up through the object that you are looking at, you don’t see anything. But once that light manifests everything that’s on that little glass slide, it’s made available for you to see. Alright, now that’s the way the Word of God is. It just simply puts God’s powerful spotlight on everything, and so he says: Hebrews 4:13b "…but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do." Now, never forget that Paul is constantly referring in the book of Hebrews to the living God. We aren’t worshiping some idol of wood or stone. We’re not worshiping some man-concocted idea, but we are literally aware of, and worshiping, and are saved by, a living creator God. Alright, now I think I’m going to let the Scripture speak for itself, and periodically, in my own time, I just love to go back and read Psalm 139. Let’s go back and look at it in this light. How that God sees everything, the unimportant, the mundane, as well as the headline grabbing events of mankind. Nothing escapes His manifestations. Here in Psalms 139, David just puts it so beautifully and like I said, I’m going to let the Word of God speak for itself. In fact, I had a Jehovah’s Witness listener and they qualified themselves as a Jehovah’s Witness and this is what they said. "I so enjoy your reading program." Well it kind of made us smile for a moment and I thought yes, that’s what I do most of the time. I read and let the Word speak for itself. And I had another letter again just yesterday that asked us to never stop putting the Scripture on the screen. This is the only Bible that a lot of people will ever read. And so this is why we put the Scriptures up as much as we do. As we begin with verse 1 of Psalms 139 we’ll just let the Spirit lead to see how far we want to go. Psalm 139:1 "O Lord, thou hast searched me, and (what’s the next word?) known me." There’s not a part of us that God doesn’t know. Again, as we go into the throne room in prayer, and we’ll be looking at that a little later, maybe not today, but maybe in our taping next month, where he says, "Come boldly before the throne of Grace." Do you realize, do you believe with all your heart, that when you and I pray and when we come into that throne room, it’s as if we are the only one.

God isn’t dealing with millions and millions of people. Oh, he is, but as an individual. And I have that confidence that when I pray, it’s the Lord and I alone in the throne room, and you can have that same feeling. All right, and this is what David is saying. The Lord not only searched him but what? Knew him. Personally, as an individual man. Psalms 139:2 "Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off." The what? Our thought! You don’t even have to say it and the Lord knows what you are thinking. Now I think I got ready to say it a little bit ago. That doesn’t mean that God holds us responsible for every rotten thought that scoots through our mind. And if you don’t have rotten thoughts, then you’re not part of the human race. I’ll never forget years ago when it bothered me that once in a while at just the most revered time, my old mind could shoot these filthy thoughts through and then I read an article by a dear old pastor of a large church in Philadelphia years back. And this was his testimony. He said "It amazed me that there I could stand behind the communion table and as my deacons were out there passing the elements of the Lord’s supper, I would have the most awful thoughts." And you know what I said? Praise the Lord! Because that tells me he was no different than I am and I’m no different that you are. We do have thoughts like that, but as long as we don’t stop and dwell on them, I don’t think God holds us responsible. Our subconscious can shoot them on through and if we let them go, He’s not going to hold us responsible. But if we’re going to stop it and say now wait a minute, I’m going to think about this a little longer. Then it becomes something that we’re going to have to give an account for, and lose some rewards. But never lose sight of the fact that God is a discerner of the very thoughts of our thinking. Now verse 3. Psalms 139:3 "Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways." Now you know what that means? There’s not a moment in your time of living that God isn’t completely around you. Now I’m talking to believers. David was a believer. So this is the assurance that we have, that God is that aware of us as an individual. Not just as one of masses, but we’re an individual in His sight. Lets go on. This is interesting isn’t it? Man, I could just about spend the whole day in this chapter. Now verse 4. Psalms 139:4 "For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, that thou knowest it altogether." There is not a word that God isn’t aware of. That’s quite something isn’t it? Psalms 139:5 "Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me." Now verse 6, and this is almost a repetition of what I said a program or two back. That I cannot begin to comprehend some of these tremendous truths. Now look what David said. Psalms 139:6-7 "Such knowledge (what knowledge? That he is an individual in God’s sight and that God knows everything about him, the individual, such knowledge) is too wonderful for me; (it’s beyond understanding, it is too wonderful for me) it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? (or whither) shall I flee from thy presence?" What does that tell a believer? You’d better be careful where you go. Because you see, no matter where we go, God is there with us. We can’t check him at the door, because He’s with us every place we go. Alright now verse 8. Psalms 139-8 "If (now that’s a conditional word, doesn’t say that he does, but if it were possible) I could ascend up into heaven, thou are there: (well that’s not too hard to comprehend) if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there." Now you want to remember, David is writing from the Old Testament perspective and Hell was that place of the departed and was separated into two sides, Paradise and Torment, as we see in Luke 16, with the story of the rich man and Lazarus. And I’m quite sure that David isn’t putting himself in Torment.

So when he went down into the Paradise of Hell of the Old Testament economy, God was there. Now verse 9. Psalms 139:9-10 "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me." What does that tell you? There’s not a place on this earth where you could go beyond the hand of God upon you. Not a place. Now verse 11. Psalms 139:11 "If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me." In other words, darkness doesn’t stop God. The thickest, darkest night doesn’t keep God from seeing. He knows everything, and sees everything. Now verse 12 Psalms 139:12 "Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." So darkness doesn’t make any difference to God. Now verse 13. Psalms 139:13 "For thou hast possessed my reins; (in other words, the desires of his life) thou hast covered me (where?) in my mother’s womb." What does that tell the abortionists? When does God pick up interest in us as an individual? In our mother’s womb! Paul says that God saved me by His Grace, from where? From his mother’s womb. Alright reading on. Psalms 139:14a "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;…" Well now, in our age of technology and information the average person probably knows more about the physiology of our bodies than MD’s did a century ago. And the more we learn, and the more we understand, the more we realize how complex this body really is. Just beyond human comprehension of how complex it is and yet God is aware of every little detail. Now verse 15. Psalms 139:15-16 "My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth." 16. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them." In other words, God knew the end from the beginning before the beginning ever started. Now verse 17. Psalms 139:17 "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!" Now you want to remember, David, according to Scripture "was a man after God’s own heart." But David wasn’t in a class all by himself. We’re just as much prone to be in that kind of a mindset. Psalms 139:18 "If I should count them, (that is all these precious thoughts, if I should count them) they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee." 19. Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: (now of course remember this is in the Old Testament economy) depart from me therefore, ye bloody men." Now verse 20. Psalms 139:20 "For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain." And so on, and on it goes, but what a gorgeous, gorgeous explanation of the Omnipotence of the God. Never lose sight of it. Even if you have to go back and read this Psalm once or twice a week and just get encouraged as well as convicted that the God of heaven, with whom we have to do, knows all about us. Alright, lets come back to Hebrews again for the few minutes that are left. And so everything, not only of the human race, but of all God’s creation are manifested in his sight. Nothing happens that God isn’t aware of it. Now as we go into verse 14, we shift gears. Paul is great on that. Now all of a sudden, we go from the Omnipotent, Almighty, living God and this Book that is powerful, can even divide asunder soul and spirit, now all of a sudden we slip into the high priestly role of Christ. Hebrews 4:14a "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is (now watch those next few words, that is what?) passed into the heavens,…" Now you remember when we first started way back in Genesis 1:1, in the beginning God created heaven and earth, and way back then already I pointed out that through all of Scripture God deals in two realms.

The earthly and the heavenly. Israel was God’s earthly people, and we are His heavenly. Alright, now when Christ finished the work of the cross, rose from the dead, and ascended or passed as the Book of Hebrews puts it, He passed into the heavenlies. Do you realize what that means? Up until that time, all worship, all concerns of the Word of God were primarily centered in Jerusalem, weren’t they? In the Temple worship and Israel. But once Christ passed into the heavens, where is now the seat and the core of all spiritual activity? Heaven. And so Paul is constantly reminding you and I now then as Grace Age believers that we’re not an earthly people, we’re a heavenly people, because He has passed into the heavens. He ascended gloriously into the heavens. Alright now let’s just look at a few verses to go along with that. Come back to Ephesians, the little Book of Ephesians, in chapter 1, verse 3. Ephesians 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings (where?) in heavenly places…" Or better is the heavenlies, rather than in heavenly places. That’s the seed of everything. The heavenlies. We’re not tied to a temple worship; we’re not tied to a set of rituals here on earth, because we are heavenly. And as we saw in just the previous verses, we are involved with a God that we can come into his presence and he knows us as an individual. And we’re going to see, like I said a moment ago, a little later in one of the verses where he says, "come boldly into the Throne of Grace." Now let’s look at another one over in Colossians chapter 1, Colossians 1:12-13 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet (or prepared us) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13. Who (speaking of the Father, remember) Hath delivered us from the power of darkness, (where’s that? On the earth. He’s delivered us from that power of darkness,) and hath (past tense) translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:" Well, where’s the Son? In heaven. Alright, now let’s back up a page to Philippians chapter 3 verse 20. Here we have concrete evidence of where our seat of worship is now located. Philippians 3:20a "For our conversation (or citizenship is a better word, for our citizenship is where) is in heaven; from whence we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:" So our citizenship is already in heaven, and not here on the earth. We’re just strangers passing through. We’re foreigners, and we’re looking for our Saviour. We’re much closer to our Lord’s coming than Paul was. You remember I referred to a cartoon quite a few months ago and this old boy was sitting in front of his cave door, bearded and everything else, and over the cave door he said "The end is near" but he had added "er." Remember that? And that’s what made me think of it. Paul wrote in about 63 or 64 AD that he was looking for the Savior from Heaven. But here we are 1900 and some years later, the end is what? Nearer. So we should be even more expectant than the Apostle Paul was. So remember "our citizenship is in heaven from whence we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:" And when he comes, now you see, Paul is speaking as though we’re going to be alive when this happens. "Who shall change our vile body, (this one) that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body." That’s why if the Lord decides to come yet before we leave this afternoon, that ceiling isn’t going to stop us. No way, because we’re suddenly going to have a body like he had. Did he have to walk around and find the door? No, he went right through the wall. He could have come in through the ceiling and we’re going to leave the same way. Never lose sight of that. That the scripture’s so plain that we’re going to have instantly a body like his resurrected body. And it’s going to work even as his did. Well anyway, the few moments we have left, let’s get back to Hebrews 4. And so we have this great high priest,

not in Jerusalem, not waiting in the sanctuary of the temple there, that’s long gone, but he has passed into the heavens. Jesus the Son of God. Now you remember when we were back there in the early chapters of Hebrews? We were emphasizing the Son. How that Jesus of Nazareth was the Son in Whom everything had been placed. Alright, we’re reminded again that He is the One Who is the core of our confession or profession. And that is what? That Christ, the Son of God, the creator of the universe, the One Who was born in Bethlehem, Who grew up in Nazareth, Who went the way of the cross, rose from the dead and ascended back to glory, that’s our confession. You know, I told one of my classes the other night, I think it was here in Tulsa, my, if I asked someone how do you know that you’re going to be in heaven, either after the rapture or after you die? How do you know? I only want to hear one answer. And what is it? I believe with all my heart that Christ died for my sins and I know that he arose from the dead. Now when I hear that, then I can say yes I have to agree, you’re going to be in glory. Because that is the only reason. You can work from now till doomsday and you’re never going to work your way into heaven. But our confession is this Jesus the Christ Who has passed into the heavens, Who is the Son of God. Now then in the moment or two that’s left, verse 15. Hebrews 4:15 "For we (now back to Hebrews 4) have not (or do not have) a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;" Now I always like to put it into the positive. We have a high priest who can be touched with our infirmities. Doesn’t that make it easier to understand? Yes. We have a high priest who knows all about us. He sees our every thought as we just saw from the Psalms. There’s nothing that we can hide from him. There’s not a heartache that he doesn’t feel. There’s not a joy and an exuberance that he doesn’t know. Now since we know that we have such a high priest, we can also rest on the fact that not only does He know all about us, but He knows where we are, because He too was touched with temptations. Now I always have to be careful and qualify it. He never was tempted to succumb, He was tempted only so that He could understand from virtual experience what we have to face. He never had the possibility of succumbing. Of course, the best ones, I suppose, that we are aware of, are the temptations in the wilderness when Satan said, turn these stones into bread. Now don’t think even for a split second that the Lord considered it. No way. But He went through those temptations so that the scripture could tell us that nothing, nothing that enters the life of a believer as temptation is something that He hadn’t already experienced. And so that’s what it means. Now we have a high priest who knows exactly what we’re putting up with. He knows what its like to be tempted. The only difference was that He did it apart from sin and we are so prone to sin. But He knows all about us.

if u vape, he honestly loves the smell of ur juice and when u try new flavors, he likes to guess what flavor it is

i’d like to say he smells like freshly washed sheets but ik he be greasy w sweat n motor oil LMFAO

and hes so used to it that he never really wipes the grease off unless needed, like if he has a customer walk in or if a distant relative visits

but he prefers when u come over with a towel to clean him up yourself, even if u scold him for it <3

his nails are always dirty i said what i said

he tends to pick at the dirt under his nails a lot but it just never gets clean clean and hes used to it

but of course when u entered his life, it became a usual thing to just have him sit down while u clean his nails for him. properly.

and while he sits there, he watches the entire process and the focus on ur face just so mesmerized no matter how often u do it

he has that dumb smile while watching u work on his nails and in his head he’s all like “my s/o is the most perfect and caring and loving and amazing…” the list goes on

in short, he loves getting babied by you

u are definitely a role model/parental figure to his siblings too (and all the other kids by extension) i feel like that goes without saying

everyone looks up to u and u are definitely the one to contact for advice or when they have personal concerns bc they know u wont judge and u will give substantial help <3

they all defo have family problems too like dude no way are they allowed to be running around in gangs if they didnt

so like u always make it known that if anyone needs a place to stay, a meal to eat, help with school, etcetc then they can approach u <3

bc they are all so young and deserve to have a childhood they can look back on and smile at <3

but if u compliment him out of the blue super casually, he turns red so fast and forgets every word ever invented

it’s not the same if u indulge him tho. like if he asks/prompts u to compliment him and u give in to it, he gets all smug

One of the things i love most about Hometown Cha Cha Cha is the way they subvert gender roles in the characters. Once again, this is the pov of an avid romance consumer and thats the way im approaching this

To start, sikhye, to me, feels a lot like the grumpy one with the sunshine one trope (thats what i call it in my head i dont know if it has an actual name 😂). Now, in the romance genre, this trope is often combined with the small town setting we see in the drama but 90% of the time, no matter the gender of the city person, the woman is the sunshine and the man is the grump. In small town romances where the female character is the city person moving in town the man is the town grump whom she helps connect with his fellow citizens, when the male character is the city person moving in town the woman is the town sunshine that helps him embrace life and have fun .

Now, the way i see it, Hye-jin is the grumpy one and Du-sik the sunshine one, which i think is the biggest way this series subverts gender roles. Du-sik is the one everyone knows and loves in town, Du-sik is the fun-loving social butterfly that lightens the atmosphere, Du-sik is the one that offers a helping hand to everybody when usually, while it's not unusual for him to be that giving, as the grump, the man's generosity is meant to be discovered by the female lead later on. In Hometown Cha Cha Cha Du-sik's giving nature is evident from the start and it's one of the things that most endear him to us as an audience.

Hye-jin, on the other hand, is a lot more reserved, which again is usually a male characteristic, she's not used to this way of life she doesn't understand why everyone's in her business and finds it annoying and is not hesitant to say so. As a result, she comes across as judgy and snobby to the residents or even the audience (she didnt come off that way to me but it wouldn't surprise me if someone else thought otherwise) and Du-sik is the one that tells her to be a little more open, that she might have to compromise in order to gain the residents' trust. So, once again we see him in a role that is mainly assigned to the female character in a romance.

Now, i realise i make this seem really unfair to the sunshine one (aka the woman, usually) but i promise you it isn't. Here's the deal with these sunshine characters; they don't know how to be anything else. What i mean by that is a sunshine won't talk to anyone about their personal problems in order not to compromise the happy image they project to the world out of fear they won't be liked otherwise.

Consequently, and here's why i love this whole opposites-attract-sunshine-grump situation, they feel free to talk about their issues with the grumpy ones mainly because usually their sunshiny disposition gets on their nerves so what do they have to lose anyway, right?

That is exactly what we see in episode 10 when Du-sik talks to Hye-jin about feeling responsible for his grandfather's death. It's the first time we see him open up to anyone and it is fucking beautiful, no? Which brings me to the way Hometown Cha Cha Cha subverts gender roles that makes me the happiest. Du-sik is in therapy 🎊🥳🤧🎉🥰. I imagine for most of you this series is not your first kdrama and so you know this is extremely rare, especially for a man. As we all know, women are supposed to be more in tune with their emotions and a lot more open to processing them and yet Du-sik is the one we see working through them.

Now, the only way i come in contact with the Korean culture is through kdramas and kpop so im not going to comment on that. I am Greek, however, and therapy has not been completely accepted yet in my culture (it's certainly better than before but it hasn't been exactly normalised), especially for men. So, i can say with 100% sincerity, i am absolutely delighted to see him work on himself in that way and it makes me love his character that much more. How self-aware must he be to be able to realise he needs help to work through his mental issues? (This is totally a me thing btw i just value self-awareness a lot 😅).

While i love our main couple an extraordinary amount, i do have something to say about our secondary one in a post like this. I absolutely love Mi-seon as a character, i love her friendship with Hye-jin (which deserves a separate post btw) and i love whatever she has going on with Eun-chul mainly because it's another opposites attract situation. Mi-seon is confident, she's sassy, she's extroverted while Eun-chul is low-key, he's introverted, a little traditional. I dont know about you but i rarely see female characters be so open about relationships in kdramas. Usually, they are portrayed as demure and innocent and those words describe Eun-chul better than Mi-seon. I love the fact that Mi-seon is the one who confessed her feelings and Eun-chul is the one that basically asked her to take it slow. I'm not saying one is better than the other i just find it really refreshing.

Anyway, this post got away from me and barely makes sense anymore😅 please feel free to add anything or to correct me if you need to.

freelancer shenanigans

one time york sneaks into the kitchen to try and cook thanksgiving dinner. he doesn't know how to cook and also its not thanksgiving. somehow he gets a turkey and sticks it in the microwave. Neither the microwave nor the turkey survive and the kitchen staff bans him forever

-479er sets up a karaoke set that she brought back from earth at one point. York tries to get carolina to sing and regrets it for two reasons. one, she kicks him in thr face. two, she is not a good singer. Florida, however, is a very good singer. The triplets are also surpisingly good at harmonizing.

-North puts a sticky note that says "kick me" on the back of wash's helmet. South enjoys it a lot. Wash does not. No one ever figures out that it was north, because hes too nice to do something like that. Wash blames york or south. South, of course, Knows that it was north, but no one believes her

-for halloween wash turns maine's visor into a jack-o-lantern. Maine pretends not to notice but he finds it very funny, and so does everyone else. Wash says he didnt do it but everyone knows he is. Mostly because he's the only one maine would actually allow to do it.

-on a mission on earth wash and south sneak into a store to buy things. South gets hair dye and wash gets a pack of twisty straws. It takes them a bit too long to get the things and by the time they get back to the actual mission the others are starting to panic. But things are fine. Later wash pulls out one of the straws to drink something with and york asks him where he got it. Wash just says something cryptic and the mystery haunts york

-south and connie go on a mission to figure out if wyoming’s accent is actually real or not. Much to their chagrin, he never breaks. He even talks to himself in a british accent. But one day, they catch him on the phone with some family member, and he’s speaking in a perfect american accent. They try to get proof but none of their recording devices work and no one ever believes them

-determined to get into the kitchen even after his ban york disguises himself and tries to bake cookies. Again he proves that he is not a chef and ends up burning them very much. The kitchen staff yells at him very much.

-york somehow gets a hold of mario kart. The game is quickly banned after south gets into a fight with wash over who gets to play yoshi. This just causes them to play it in secret. Carolina is in first place 90% of the time but wash, for some reason, is very good at it. This has caused carolina to very nearly beat him up on multiple occasions. Also one time, out of sheer dumb luck, or possibly secret skill, iowa gets first place three times in a row.

Can someone explain ghost dad to me?

So for one thing him being her dad is so randomly?? I honestly don’t like the “oh he cheated once in high school” subplot. As billy is a LOT of things but , he’s not a cheater? At least I don’t think he would. For how desperately he was trying to get with Sid him slipping off with some girl doesn’t make sense. Maybe if Sid was the mom? And she was adopted- but then half of what goes down just wouldn’t happen. I just think there could be a lot more with that. Instead it seems to be something that gets to her particularly but none of the other characters are that scared or seem to mind. Sure it surprises them for a moment but even Sid was totally ok with that! It’s only a cheating thing for her to be away from Tara for years .

So besides that annoying me…. Is he supposed to be her visions or a real ghost?! Sam wasn’t kidding about this being “Fanfiction” as ghost billy has been something I wanted to right for a long time. Just with Sid instead of a hypothetical child. I think its trying to lean more towards the vision side but that genuinely doesn’t make sense. He would have died before she was born, and well before she was aware. Why’d she know what he looks like? Let alone looks like dead. Maybe she’s seen a photo or two- or the end of Stab so she knows what he looks like dead. And if it was though thr movie why doesn’t he look like this

Because I doubt the crime scene photos of Dead Billy and Stu (or anyone else) would be around for somebody to grab and look at. But his personality does lean more towards her own thoughts and ideas of what he must have acted like just with billyisms instead of what he’s actually like. Her being afraid and leaving her family is because she knows so little? Billy was psychotic but he was loyal. The mans whole motives were because of his fucking family!! Being related to him wouldn’t make you hurt them/Tara that’s on you.

I’m half tempted to say he’s a ghost? Due to both the dead appearance rather then a normal billy look (like what she could have seen though photos with the flannel etc - and could have recognized Richies shit sooner with the flannel connection). Also a bit of his knowledge is beyond what Sam would personally have. Even if he doesn’t appear to anyone beyond her.

I think he was definitely fan service. To bring back Skeet and such a beloved character but I don’t think he was thought through. Honestly bringing back Stu - heavily injured and with a motive would make more sense. This idea really needed to be polished more, they don’t use him enough to be effective but use him to much to be a vision or reference.

However. I just- the scene where he’s like “nice kill :)” at her about her ex was shsksksooskske something. Which, technically yeah actually makes charecter sense but still. Girls definitely got her dads … rage? Zèle? Use of a person as a emotional stabbing bag? Lack of therapy?

Also how awkward is it to be older then your dad?

And I wish they had better effects on him because Jesus - they had better de aging/CG face making in the actual 90s 😭 why’d you do him like that

-He tried to hide his blush, look somewhere else, but the pout you were giving him was too much. He complied.

-At his change of the lyrics, the whole class cheered louder with "Finally" and "Thank God", though they were all drowned out by the sound of your own beating heart.

-Yeah that was definitely a memorable night...

Kaminari Denki 💛

- The loud, electric boy that everyone loves, everyone needs him to cheer them up.

-But for you he was much more than the class clown. He's the boy that defeated all perceptions people had of him. He's the boy that liked to prove himself no matter the consequences. He's the boy you fell in love with.

- He was the one who pulled you out of your seat and gave you the microphone, sending you a playful wink before sitting back to record everything.

-You knew he wanted to have some fun, to film things to remember once all of this is gone, but the fact that he chose and wanted to film you made you feel some kind of way. Made you blush and nervoud as butterflies seemed to have an acrobatics competition inside your stomach.

-Kaminari wanted to make fun of you, to make some memes out of the video. But he found himself smiling like a idiot watching you, his heart beating faster. It was no secret that you two had mutual feelings, somehow everyone knew but you two.

-Sharing a glance, you sent him a mischievous, challenging smirk. And of course Denki took the opportunity. Giving his phone to Sero to record every bit, every embarrassing dance move, every crack of his voice, as he made his way to you.

-Hands in your shoulders, swaying with you as you both screamed into the microphone, looking at each other so intensely.

-As if your friends around you didn't exist, it was only you two in the room and the Spice girls song playing in the background. Like some cliché teen movie, but it really felt like time has stopped.

- This might be the last night as a class, but you know that you and denki will have many many more.

Shinsou Hitoshi 💜

- He might be quite and to himself. He might be mysterious and dark. But for you he was everyting but a villain.

-Despite rumors and talk, you knew Shinsou was a very good person. Kind and lovely, nice and ambitious, even when he doesn't like to show it; caring.

-It wasn't hard at all to fall for him. And after years of being with him, you knew that he felt some kind of way for you too. But never talked about it, you'd rather him stay your friend than not having him in your life at all.

- But you're not focusing on those feelings tonight. No you wanted to live your best life with your friends.

-And if that meant singing some inappropriate song, moving your body in a flirtatious way, you're gonna do it.

-Maybe you shouldn't do that in front of the whole class, but right now it's your only opportunity to ever have him so close, and it's not like your friends didn't know about you two.

-You thought he would protest, he would want to get away from you. But to your surprise he'd grabbed your hips and moved with you. Smirk evident of his lips but with a hint of nervous, shy blush on his cheeks as he whispered upcoming words in your ear for you to sing.

- This night wasn't only the end of the most wonderful years of your life, but maybe, also the start of something new with Shinsou.

So this is the THIRD installment of my “x reader” prompt list. HOORAY! In light of leaving for so long it’s made me realize that I feel dead inside without writing so, I’m gonna do it again and hopefully this time stay. Also since I don’t eat, breathe, sleep, and shit kpop and actually like some other things too, I feel it’s a good opportunity to share how I’d like various anime characters to fuck me up in more ways what one (wink wonk). I will also say I might only do “character x reader” because I am absolute shit at doing ships. It’s just not my thing and plus I love making peoples personal fantasies come true, it is a big hobby of mine.

Also if you request a character (assuming you’re asking for an anime request) that is portrayed as a young teenager, then most likely (scratch that, the word I’m thinking of is “absolutely”) he/she will be written in a universe as a young adult/older than 18 because I’m all about legal consent to doing the fun shit either that...or not at all. (I have to make this big because I cannot stress enough how important this rule is and if you can’t comply, then I have every right to reject your request) Don’t argue with me please.

Rules- You may choose up to 5 prompt numbers if you can’t choose, talk to me and we’ll go through it together because I’m here to capture your horny ass vision. (Example- You wanted to request 3, 4, 12, 45, and 23). Please start with telling me which character you’d like me to write for and give me some insight. (Example- You want a J-hope office AU, then explain the preface like hate to love, secret affair, cute office shit. Or let’s say for example you want something Levi Ackerman related and you talked back to him and he don’t like dat so he “punishes you” ;) ). Get it? I did it

One year ago today I finished highschool. One year ago today I finished the toughest journeys of all times. Highschool was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. There was so many people who ruined it but there was so many people who made it better for me. My freshman year I attempted suicide and was admitted to a mental hospital and and no school wanted to take me in. At the time Fir Ridge Campus didn’t take in freshman. So I had no choice but to drop out. David Douglas straight up told me that I couldnt go there. I had too many problems and They couldn’t give me an education. In spring of my freshman year I enrolled in an online school called metro east web academy. Of course with all my mental health issues I had no motivation to do any of it. In the end I only got one credit for it. And that was for creative writing. I’m with ICTS which is where people come outd to your house three times a week for therapy. So I was with them for six months. It was hard saying goodbye. But then I went yo seeing a therapist once a week. I was still cutting often. But back to my schooling, I didn’t do anything and my mom was so pissed at the david doglas school district because the refused to put me in a school and finally she wrote a three page nasty letter saying how I needed to be in a school and thats how I got to fir ridge.

My freshman year I was so scared. I couldn’t tell you how scared I was. I didn’t go to school. I was fucked up in the head, cutting and I didn’t know anyone. So I didn’t really talk to anyone on my first day. But within a few days I met a small group of friends that I could relate to. Which was great. The next best thing was that there was a school counselor and a therapist that came to the school. So on top of going to seeing a therapist once a week I went to see him once a week. He was from Trillium services. He was a great therapist. I saw him from 45 minutes to an hour. My school counselor was mamed Michael and he was probably the best counselor anyone could ask for. He understood me. When I needed my space he let me sit in the office or library and do my work. When I had my mental break downs he gave me a quiet space. He was amazing. I have terrible anxiety with loud noises and whenever we had a firedrill I would cry and have a panic attack when there was he warned me and brought me to the office telling me when so I wasnt as afraid. As I said. He was the best school counselor anyone could ask for.

I had this friend. Her name was Iris. I cared for her so so much she was my first friend I made in middle school and she went to a diffent school but she had problems at the time and so she was looking into my school and I was thrilled. But before ahe came she also had issues and so she went to a rehab place. I called her family every day to see how she was doing. I sent flowers and cards because well, wouldn’t a best friend do that? When she got out she started at Fir Ridge Campus a bit later. I was so happy we reunited again. We started having sleep overs and everything. Okay? But one time during a sleepover she stole her parents credit card and bought something, which was a peircing kit and I had no idea so she came to my house when it was delivered and took it before I was home. I’ll also mention around two years ago she stole my ipod. But anyway so this happened and it happened once more but with tea but ahe sent it to her house instead of mine. So her mom was like “you arent ever allowed to see her again” blaming me for her daughter peircing herself. That was the hardest thing for me to hear because she was my best friend. Or so I thought she was. I believe this was all happening during my Junior year or late sophomore I cant remember it was so hectic. Ill come back to this bitch a little bit later.

But my Junior year I did this amazing thing called camp pheniox. That was the second the best and worst part of highschool. Its a two day overnight camp plus 4 weeks of after care. During the two nights you broke yourself down talking about the horrible things in life and at the end you are rebuilding yourself and raising up into a pheniox. During the process you did multiple activites which were happy, sad and heartbreaking realizing how fucked up and broken you were on the inside. One of the days you clumb a tree and tell everyone what you committ to. And I said I committ to my family and my support system. And then you had to walk on a tightrope with another person and jump when you couldnt do it anymore. And the other classmates are completely in control of the rope and your harness. Then the second activity we did was get in a harness and go up and your classmates pull you up until you say stop. Basically a gaiant swing okay. So I was letting go past teachers which I will get on explaining to more. And then letting in good teachers and then you yank it and I did a 90 foot free fall and holy shit was that fun. As i said it was the best and wors part of it because i landed up in teen intensive outpatient because I was cutting and I was extremely depressed.

But back to the teacher thing. There was a history teacher her name was Karen and she was a bitch to me. She hated me. And She KNEW i struggled with anxiety and she KNEW that I hated being with loud people and so I always needed to go to the office to see a counselor and I always finished up my work at home. And finally she was like you have to go to detention to finish this. And so Im in the office complete sobbing and my council waves it off. And other time with her was when my counselor talked to her about it she didnt talk to me for 3 DAYS like seriously she was so immature. Then When I came back from thr weekend she didnt call on anyone else but me. Then at the end of the week there was a new seating chart and I came in late because I was talking yo the trillium therapist okay and she shows me my seat and Im calm and I say no. And shes like yes. And I calmly explain to her why I cant go sit next to him because be gave me anxiety. And then she PROCEEDS to yell at me infront of the whole class who is now stairing at me and Im completely crying now infront of the class go to the principals office to fucking write me a refferl because i was arguing with her. Which the princapal immediately threw it out. The princapal at the time was absolutely amazing. She took me out on the track as I cried and walked with me.

So my junior year is happening and I went to camp pheniox and outdoor school it was great okay. So I went to outdoor school for my third session and I broke my ankle and had to stay home for a week and you remember this Iris girl who is my best friend??? Well not anymore. When I was away at outdoor school where I couldn’t DEFEND myself she went to the counselor and said. That I raped her and drugged her with majauana. And In like balling my eyes out because Im so fucking confused and why she did that. And so the counselor literally asked if I did it and Im like what the fuck do you really think I did it. And Im like crying at her because Im so upset. Like who in the right mind would accuse someone of rape. I mean I work with children. I was a swim instructor at the time. If she went to the police I could’ve been arrested and fired from my job which she didnt go because she knew she was a lying skank ass bitch. Also they couldve drug tested me because I wasnt even smoking at the time! And so Im in the office and my counselor is like “what are you feeling?” And I littlerly upfront say” I want to punch this bitch in the face,” she she looked at me “you cant do that” and Im like “no shit I cant do it. I want to but tgat doesnt mean I am going to.” And she sighs like after and hour of fuming she tells me Im not allowed to tell ANYONE and Im like fine whatever.

But I go to my momma jill and tell her and I like an crying to her and shes just holding me. But seriously then the vice principal calls me in during third period to talk more about what happened ALSO i had a freaking alliby because I was at fucking teen Intensive outpaitent during the time she accused me! Basically it was a whole clusterfuck

. It got 100% worse when there was an assembly and youll never guess who was running it the skank ass Iris. So she started talking about rape. And then she says “someone here raped me” and then she looked over at me. I kid you not. And my dad was there and he stood up and I cant remember exactly what he said but it was along the lines of “you shouldnt accuse anyone of rape either,” he said or something like that Im to busy crying and my teacher holding my hand. Finally my dad comes over to me and says were leaving. So my worst fear now the whole school knows that Iris accused me of rape and drugging her. So im literally in the gym having the WORST mental breakdown of my life and I mean screaming at the too of my lungs dropping to the knees hitting the floor. There was the security guy and Joey one of the teachers along with the princapal and vice principal trying to calm me down. And my dads crying because hes upset because of what Iris had said. And they told me to stay home for a few days until I could calm down.

So I came bac the following monday. I was so depressed I wanted to die. I almost had another suicide attempt but I thought about Taylor Swift and how I would never get t meet her and that just made me hold onto life just a little bit longer. So by the end of the year it was time for prom and so I was nominated for.... you guessed it prom court equivalent to prom princess/prince and can you guesd who was nominated too? That bitch Iris. So we were BOTH up against each other and trust me I was NOT going to let her win. So I baked my ass off and probably made over 200 cupcakes and fed them to the entire school and when I was time for prom. I won. I won prom princess. That was the best night of my entire life. My entire highschool carrer I felt normal. Everything was perfect

. Soon my Junior year ended. And summer came and went and my Senior yesr started. I only needed 1 credit to graduate .5 government .5 global studies. So I took government first which I got like knocked down a ton because i refused to do presentations because i hate speaking infront of a class but I still passed with a A. Then global studies I REFUSED to take with Karen again. So I did 5 at least 250 page packets in one quarter. And I still graduated early two quarters early. I started school my sophomore year because they didnt count it as a freshman and ended my senior year. I worked my ass off. And I graduated in 2 1/2 years. I graduated. I did it. I made it. Evern after a suicide attempt. Witnessing my mom attempt suicide my sophmore year, Iris accusing me of rape. All of that and I still graduated and I was second in class too. I’ve never been more proud of myself in my entire life. I didnt think id ever make it here. I thought in 2014 I was going to die. But I didnt. I’m still here. Alive and succeeding in life. Im a caregiver now. I’m getting my CNA in July. I made it. I did it.

From what I understand most of the st4 leaks have been made by a bunch of crew members who feel bad that we’ve had to wait so long, and we’ve just been piecing it all together. I know some ppl think one of the leakers is a Netflix higher-up, but idk if that’s true bc I feel like we would’ve gotten more info. Literally 90% of the reddit leaks have been abt Vecna + lab flashbacks. Everything else is pretty much just pieced together from random details we’ve found.

Obvs the crew is not gonna be happy abt working for so long, but it’s not like that’s totally Netflix’ fault. This is the biggest/longest season yet, each ep is over an hour, there’s tons more characters, more SFX, and it’s during a freaking pandemic too! I agree Netflix is going thru it right now, but it’s not bc of ST. ST is arguably Netflix’s biggest show, if anything they are what is keeping Netflix relevant. Subscriptions are down for a few reasons. 1. Netflix will buy a show for 30 mil, do it for a season or 2 and then cancel it, and then repeat the process with a diff show. Fans of the canceled shows get pissed, and a lot of them will eventually leave bc Netflix keeps canceling shows right as you get into them. And two, slowly, Netflix’s whole catalog is disappearing. The reason Netflix was so massively popular is bc for so long it was the only streaming service out there. There was no real competition, so they literally had like every single show and movie on there. But then networks realized they could make money by making their own streaming services, and putting all their shows and movies there instead of Netflix. So many shows and movies that ppl got Netflix specifically to watch went away (Friends, HIMYM, The Office, Disney/Pixar movies). Now Netflix is p much just original shows and movies, most of which are so-so. Anyway, Netflix is scrambling right now, they’re trying to get ST out and promote it as fast as possible to get subscribers back, so there are gonna be a few mixups and delays.

There’s also this interesting article from THR about all the drama going down bts at Netflix; but yeah you can def see how it got into trouble.

But, agreed, based on how much was revealed and how, for instance, the pics Reddit posted, it had to be some crew. If anything Netflix should be thanking them because it kept interest in the fandom while production was taking so long. And then the latest leaks like via monopoly and the vid they took down seem to have come from chaotic marketing

At first, it was because Katherine (Lea Thompson) was feeling nostalgic about Regina (Constance Marie) deciding to move out of the guest house. Then, it was because Katherine learned John (D.W. Moffett) had known about the switch before she did – a fight that escalated and de-escalated quickly.

Meanwhile, Daphne stood up to a discriminatory sports surgeon who said she couldn't be a surgeon and be deaf. (And she reunited with Mingo). And despite Travis (Ryan Lane) moving to Japan to pursue a career in baseball, he and Bay decided to continue their relationship long-distance – permanently squashing any chance of her getting back together with Emmett (Sean Berdy).

Regina also figured out her romantic future. In exchange for making Will turn himself in, she offered to raise his son and wait until he got out of prison so they could start their life together in Kansas City. And finally, Toby (Lucas Grabeel) decided to ditch his unfulfilling DJ gigs to some sort of job helping those with disabilities.

After an extended break between seasons four and five – during which time ABC Family became Freeform – and a shortened final season, the final episode was largely one of resolutions rather than cliffhangers.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Lizzy Weiss about those finale twists and turns, the scrapped ending viewers didn't see and the possibility of a revival down the road.

The Hollywood Reporter | You mentioned there was a tag you shot at the end of season four that could have served as a series finale. Can you talk a little bit about what it was and why you decided not to use it?

Lizzy Weiss | It would have felt like a double ending. I feel like the emotion of the ending with the big wide aerial shot pulling back on the family and that song… the emotions sort of carried you and then once we tried putting the tag on it, it stopped the emotions. And plus, it was a flashback to the hospital with the girls as newborns and we cast 22-year-old actresses to play young Katherine and young Regina, and it felt like a disappointment to not end on the people that the fans have spent five years with. I hope the network does release it for the fans just in a tweet or a YouTube link because it was cool but it was something that we didn’t end up using.

THR | Another big revelation was that John found out about the switch before Katherine. Had that always been apart of the story for you? How did this twist come about?

LW | To be totally honest, no. When I pitched the show, I was very clear that I planned out that Regina knew and all of the reasons why, and when she found out when Daphne was three, and that she kept it secret so that was kind of baked into the first season. In preparing for the series finale, we watched the pilot again, and we zoned in on that scene in the geneticist's office where Bay and Katherine looked crushed and stunned and as if their worlds have just fallen apart. It was honestly just a choice that D.W. made for John to be the stoic father, but we just zoomed in and thought, 'Gosh, it almost looks like he's not surprised.' So just in the fun of the room, we spun off that: We can't mess with the mythology of Regina. We can't undo the whole show in one last episode, but what if hew knew a week before or two weeks before?

The real intention of the John-Katherine story no matter what story we told, I knew that the end result would be we are re-validating them as the heart and the center of the show in terms of the family, the strength, that is the Kennish home. So we needed to shake them a little and then remind everyone they will keep getting through whatever is thrown at them. it just seemed fun to have.

THR | Another big moment in the finale was Daphne having to deal with the blatant discrimination of Dr. Bannon and her subsequent decision to stand up to him. Why in the final episode did you want to give her this obstacle for her?

LW | We definitely had had a couple run-ins with the face of authority who had questioned her. I felt like we really need to raise the stakes if we're going to bring this up again. We’re going to have to do it with someone who's a lot more blunt about it, and she hasn’t encountered that kind of resistance that much. These kind of doctors are out there, and this kind of arrogance. I always like to raise good questions and these are fair, realistic questions: How exactly would you be a surgeon? How would it work? Though he does it in a very gruff, ignorant way, he's asking questions that she's got to answer. Well, with technology, well, with an interpreter, well, with a little bit of help – and we researched, there are all of these tools. That's part of the message of this show, is that sometimes you do have to make accommodations, you may have to slow down, you may have to use your phone to text, you may have to learn a few signs, you may have to do things a little differently and that's OK in this world. We don't have to make the mainstream world the only way to communicate or live or have jobs. I just liked raising that one last time in a really big, potent, loud way.

I have a friend of a friend who was a doctor and got into a bike accident and became paraplegic and he's still a doctor. You figure it out, it doesn't mean it's easy. That's always been the message of the show: The world needs to bend a little bit and get with the program but not everyone's the same and that's OK.

THR | That also kind of relates to Toby's decision to change careers at the end. How did you decide on that ending for him?

LW | That was always the plan and we were going to take it a little slower if we had had more episodes. We were going to kind of move him along but I think it worked really nicely to have it be an epiphany in that moment. I just loved the idea of this kid changing his life so profoundly not just as a father, but as a person.

THR | One of the biggest surprises in the finale was that Bay and Emmett ended up not getting back together. How did you come to that decision?

LW | Bay and Emmett had true love, but it was first love and they went through a lot together as you do when you're young. Maybe it's just timing, maybe things would be different if she had met Emmett at 21 instead of Travis, but they couldn't shake all of the things that they'd been through. And secondly, the intention of the second-to-last episode, where Bay pushes Travis to tell his mother the truth about what happened was purely intended to really show that this couple is the real thing. They can weather these kinds of storms as adults, that's an adult relationship right there. Emmett was this lovely, romantic, who would do these big romantic things for her but Travis and she are going through hard stuff and getting through it.

The intention of the montage was really to honor Bay and Emmett for everyone, for me, not just for the fans. I love Bay and Emmett, they were a huge part of the series and it was a nod to anyone who's ever had a very intense first love that they thought they would end up with forever but they don't. When you see that person, it's incredibly powerful, and this is someone who helped define who you are as a human being for the rest of your life but you go your separate ways. I teared up working on that montage; to me it really takes you back to all of those moments with Bay and Emmett. I'm quite sure that there are diehard 'Bemmett' fans who will never forgive me and will always feel like it was a mistake but this is how Bay and Emmett and Travis evolved over the course of all the things that happened.

THR | Can you pinpoint a specific moment in the show where you shifted from having bay end up with Emmett to believing she should end up with Travis?

LW | Just following the truth of the characters and the baggage and just some realities of doing the show with Emmett being in LA and we had to throw Emmett into a bit of a tailspin and it would have been hard to get them back together. I do think there is a jerking around of the fans and the triangle that at some point has to stop. As a fan of my own shows, I don't like that either. You have to know when to let go of the triangle and to make a choice. I think fans get tired of that.

Someone else asked me if you had gotten 10 more episodes, do you think you would have gotten Bay and Emmett back together, and I don't think so. This felt right for where the characters ended up. The truth of the story is the past five seasons ended with Bay not being able to go back, she wanted to go forward. Which isn't to say that Emmett isn't a huge part of who she is. That will be a controversy I'm sure, but there's also a lot of diehard Bay and Travis fans. You're never going to win with everyone and we were quite aware of that.

THR | Regina also makes a big move when she moves out of the guest house and gets back together with Eric, even though he has to go to prison first. Why was this the right way to end her story?

LW | I was so pleased with that twist. Luca was lovely but they weren't really soul mates and Eric always felt like her second soul mate after Angelo. He came with this backstory, we couldn't un-bake that from who Eric was and why he appeared in her life the way he did so we had to send him off last season but everyone really wanted Eric to come back in some way and then we really felt like, 'Oh God, we backed them into a corner.' He has this past, he's committed this felony, he has to leave the country, I can't believe Regina would leave her two daughters and go to another country. That didn't feel right even though that was on the table. Then when we came up with this moment of this flashback where her mom says sometimes you have to do the hard thing to get to the right place. … It felt like a great parallel and a great metaphor to have her come up on her own with this solution. Tell Eric, "Do what you got to do, face the music and I will wait for you." And then of course the beauty of her becoming a mom again, to a boy for the first time, just felt so sweet and it felt like we were spinning her off into a new family.

THR | In the end, Daphne calls Katherine and John mom and dad, respectively. Why did you want to include that?

LW | That was in my back pocket. That's one of the few things that I always wanted to save for the series finale. I just felt like it would be a really big moment and I didn't want to slide it in casually. It's a big deal for Katherine. Katherine's a very traditional mom, her identity was a full-time mom for many years before she went back to work and I feel like she's always been secretly waiting for this moment and wanting it but never asking for it because she thought it would hurt Regina's feelings. It was just so powerful for her to hear it. I don't think Bay will ever call Regina mom. Their relationship always felt a little more aunt-niece, big sister-little sister; they just had a more complicated relationship. Regina's a little less traditional. … I just like the distinction between the girls that way.

THR | You had been tweeting a little while ago about wanting to possibly write characters from Switched at Birth into your next show but you weren’t sure about the legality of it. What is the possibility that we'll see Daphne or Bay or someone else from the SAB universe in the future?

LW | What I learned was it's a little more complicated. You can't really do that. Of course I can use the actors again and I fully intend to, but I thought it would be fun to have Daphne or Travis or Emmett pop up as a cousin to this other character I created and link the shows, but I don't think that's legal.

THR | Well, would you be open to revisiting these characters in some sort of revival down the line? Revivals had become such a big trend in recent years.

LW | If in ten years, it is a trend and the network or some network or all of us are interested, of course. We even joke about it now. It would be fun to revisit who everyone's going to be in 10 years, Bay and Daphne as 35-year-olds or even 30-year-olds is just fun to think about.
