-definetly gets worried after he sees you on the ground crying like that.

-"no... my love, what's wrong? you can talk to me, okay?"

-all while the pet was in the corner of the room, unphased.

-if left the room soon enough, but that was unnoticed by gaming.

-after you did your best at explaining the situation to him, he understood what you meant.

-a bit confused as to why were you thag worried about it, but he reassured you that your pet was fine and that they most probably forgive you.

-he's going to cuddle the pet with you to help you "apologize" to it.

-with gaming there, your pet will forget about what happened and just cuddle with the two of you there like nothing ever happened<3

-he'll prove it to you too.

-but first he would first make you take your mind off of it for a bit.

-and then feed the pet together as some parents to their 3yo child.

-now, speaking of him proving it to you, he'll just let you pet it and let it slowly lean into your gentle caressing of it.

-the only time he was lucky in his life was when he got to be with you.

-you just looked to precious being happy that your pet has forgiven you.

-the funny part was the fact that the pet was just more fond of wanderer, rather than you, despite forgiving you for anything and everything.

-and then after he understands why you're doing all of that, he shows a bit more of emotion.

-hardly spotted, but it's there.

-you just give him a death stare. he doesn't continue speaking from there.

-afterwards, you'll feel the little cutie together and see that it's totally fine!

-you will get to hear the joke he was meaning to say sometime later, now he just doesn't wanna irritate you, he feels as if you need happiness now, not his dumb dad jokes.

-now, after telling you to take a few deep breaths, calm down, and drink a glass of water, he sits you down and lets you explain everything in great detail.

-then he brings the pet to the both of you, while he checks the pet for any scars, but they fortunately aren't there!

-you get incredibly happy and hug both tighnari and the pet, but he still doesn't understand if ut was worth the crying on the floor.

-your pet literally still loved you.

-but at least he was happy to help.

thoughts on transman yamato and transwomen ace? (ik yamato is already canon so this is mostly just thoughts on transwomen ace lol)

I feel like if I think too much about Ace being a woman my lesbian heart won't be able to handle it but. But yeah. My thoughts are very-- Positive. Dying of lesbianism here.

I've always considered Ace transmasc but this is so good too??? I believe Ace as a woman would like. Be the same. But woman. Kind of like Luffy ngl. The thing with ASL is that Ace comes out as a woman and the other two are like "Oh cool! *change pronouns when talking to her*" and that's kind of. The whole thing for them? They're extremely supportive and WILL beat the shit out of you if you say something about their sister. But. Like. Ace is already the one beating people up for that so they don't need to worry--

Thinking about Ace coming out like, time after the sake thing and Luffy telling her that they need to do it again because "We swore we were brothers but!!!! I want to drink sake with you again and swear you will always be my older sister!!!!!" and it melts Ace's heart completely. Not to mention that now nobody fights about who's the oldest because now Luffy has an older sister and an older brother!!

Makino would be the sweetest soul to her,,, She teaches her stuff and Ace is always asking her things to be more of a ""real woman"" and Makino is like ???????? "what do you mean real woman, sweetie, it doesn't matter what you do and how you look like as long as you're comfortable!! Don't let other people tell you otherwise!!" and Ace realizes that's the type of girl she wants to be to become a good older sister to Luffy. Supportive and kind and herself even if a lot of people won't see her the way she is.

Ace goes through life so not giving a shit-- I think she is the same except that when she wins fights and people think she is a guy she is just like "haha a woman beat you up fucking loser" and when people realize she is a girl they're all like "noooo cover your chest that's indecent!!" and she's so confused and angry because why is it okay to do so when they think she is a guy but it's wrong when they find out she is a girl???? She goes boobs out everywhere fr fr.

I think Ace is the type of saying "I can't have surgery and boobs so I'm just gonna do so much exercise my chest will look huge" and she is so committed to that. Good for her.

And!!!!!! When she meets Yamato??? And Yamato tells her he is a guy??? Ace is like "OH ME TOO ME TOO I AM A GIRL AND PEOPLE CONSTANTLY THINK I'M A GUY IDK WHY" and they have their "we the same fr" and fall in love bc no matter the gender Yamace is always canon. `You have this cool but a bit of a failgirl Ace and her tall af cute boyfriend. Boy who says teehee x Girl who laughs like a lunatic.

Also, I think her relationship with Roger would change a bit? And she already loves her mom but she would do it now even more because she would feel like-- More connected to her experience as a woman? I think Ace should wear a little flower in her hair just like Rouge, too.

And not to be depressing af but when Marineford happens and everybody treats her as Roger's SON she is having the worst time of her life for so many reasons. And Luffy just tells everybody he sees that Ace is not a guy and he might be in the middle of saving her but he will fight people so they refer to her right.

Idk I think there are more things to say but I am eepy and I just woke up. But I absolutely love this and Ace as a trans girl lives in my mind rent free.

Hi okay here. So this is sort of an au?? Where Mimzy is in love with Alastor like how they were originally written but Alastor doesn't reciprocate. This also may not be entirely historically accurate as this is basically a rough draft and I have yet to do all of the research I think is required.

Tw// Mimzy being homophobic. </3 Ik my girl would never actually but it's for the sake of the story.

So his name is Severin De la Court, he's a French dude who moved to Louisiana to escape some shit in his life that was happening back home. He met Alastor and Mimzy at the club Mimzy worked at and Alastor frequented, and became friends with them pretty quickly. He's demiromantic and asexual like I personally hc Alastor to be, and as time passed they started pining for each other and all that jazz. It's canonical that Alastor speaks some French but isn't fluent, so in this the reason he knows what he does is because he was trying to learn it for Severin to make him feel a little more at home. Eventually Mimzy found out about the little thing they had for each other and, the 1930s being the 1930s, she was like "ew gay people" and leaked the information about Severin being gay to the press so he was imprisoned, where he was killed after a few days for being a homo by the other inmates. </3 Alastor was heartbroken but Mimzy was over the moon. A couple of years later is when Mimzy spilled the beans to Alastor about it being her to rat out Severin after Alastor continuously rejected her advances, "I got rid of that queer and you still won't let me have you" type shit. Alastor, who had already killed several people, had no qualms killing Mimzy after learning this information! And that bit in his lore about him dying because a hunter shot him while he was hiding a body? Was Mimzy's body in this story. Alastor rose to power in hell yadda yadda and in episode three at the beginning of the Overlord meeting Carmilla is like "okay first off we've got a newcomer" and lookie here it's Severin! Alastor is baffled and afterwards they catch up and shit before Alastor goes "wait why are you in hell" and Severin just goes "oh yeah I ran away from France because I killed like a lot of people and they were starting to catch on to me lmao" and then they just went on like normal yk as they would. Queue more pining between the two when Severin decides to help Alastor and Charlie with the hotel.

I'll reveal myself in rbs to answer any questions you have or anything but for now I'm doing this on anon because I'm embarrassed to talk about my ocs publicly lmao. I also have little tidbits about their relationship I'd be more than happy to share if you'd like me to. :3

to expand on your latest dc post (absolutely agree on what u said) do you think rather than shinichi not telling her bc ""shes a snitch"", woudlnt it have made more sense for the writting to specify he doenst want to tell her for selfish reasons? I mean definitely their relationship would be much different if she were aware of everything going on, it would make things weird. ik canon dc absolutely loves making it so that shinichi most of the time has no feelings or opinions on his own situation rahter than i wanna bring justice and go back to my real life but like. becomign a child and having to pretend to be a kid while in danger of putting everyone at risk and lying to all your loved ones, if he can at least be sure that whenever he fixes the issue he can pretend nothing happened and ran would be none the wiser...i think it would make more sense for him not to tell her if they made this the reason lol .

You can come off anon, I don't bite! I have to assume this is etude-in-citrine, because I never get asks 🤭 Either way, welcome! It's okay if you don't agree with me. And you don't have to change your mind, either! Just in case you wondered, though, I'll go ahead and explain my thoughts a bit more.

Putting aside what would be narratively satisfying for a second, canon is pretty clear about how Shinichi feels about lying to Ran. The moments that stand out most to me specify that he DOES actually want to tell her. In the anime and manga, he's actually promised her that he'll explain everything when it's all over. I find it difficult to see the intentions you've suggested for him. Shinichi values the truth. He's brash, direct, honest, and very loyal to the people close to him. It didn't even occur to him to lie until Agasa told him to, and since that was like RIGHT after the most humbling moment in his life. Then a LOT happened and, it's probably difficult to imagine tackling that topic. With so much still going on, I can sort of understand why he doesn't want to get into that with her right now. But, ultimately...?

I've just watched all the movies again so they're the freshest in my mind, but in Last Wizard of the Century, when she directly asks him if he's really a different person than Shinichi, his internal thought is, "I can't do this anymore."

Only very early on do we get him assuming that if he can go back to full size, he can go back to his regular high school detective life. As DC has gone on, his life has actually been enriched by the connections he's made as Conan. Even in the early seasons, we see that he's grown to care a lot for the Detective Boys in particular. There are parts of being Conan that I really don't think Shinichi will want to give up. He can still salvage some of those relationships (imo) if he tells them the truth when all's said and done.

But perhaps most importantly:

It's bullshit to assume that Ran will be none the wiser.

She's already suspicious of him, she has been suspicious of him, she's directly investigated the possibility that they're the same person more than once. At a certain point, they decided to leave it with her "waiting for Shinichi to tell her," which (again imo) is stupid.

Applying a little meta analysis for a second, if HAD to keep her functioning as if she's in the dark, it's not the worst way to do it. Not what I would've chosen, but whatever, right?

The point is, the ship of "fooling Ran and keeping this from her entirely" has LONG since sailed.

Let's entertain this suggestion for a moment. If he really did just pop back into her life and try to pretend like nothing happened, then I can't imagine she'd just let him off the hook. (reflecting on her mischaracterization in Black Iron Submarine: at least, I hope she won't.) Sonoko definitely won't. What I imagine Ran would actually do is confront him about it, and if he won't answer, investigate the truth for herself. I'm not sure what steps she'd take, but in reality if she could get Agasa alone and interrogate him about it, I think she'd get the truth. Because at that point, if she KNOWS she's being lied to and it's not her safety on the line anymore, there's no reason to keep it all from her. It won't save her relationship with Shinichi, because if she knows something's wrong and he's not telling her about it, how is Ran supposed to feel? And Shinichi's supposed to live with the guilt of lying to her indefinitely?

Narratively speaking, that ending would be a real flopping bummer, you know? Contrasting that with an ending where he confesses everything to her and lays everything at her feet... Well, maybe that's subjective, but personally I prefer the latter. It gives more respect to everything he's already put Ran through. It feels more like him. I actually hope he tells her before there's any kind of a big showdown, because I refuse to believe there's no part she could play in helping with that.

So, just to bring it all together here, I don't think Shinichi wants to lie to Ran any longer than he has to. He values the truth, and he values her. I don't think he'd feel right trying to keep it from her once all was said and done. I think he longs for the truth.

#as an aside #there's a headcanon I've seen where the Detective Boys totally know that Conan is Shinichi #and are just going along with his secret cover because they love having him around #and I think that's super sweet #anyway. don't discredit Ran!! or Shinichi for that matter #dcmk

He left.

"Train harder. You're going to be of no use if you don't improve yourself. "

Present

'Why does he hate me so much?' You thought to yourself as you bandaged your foot short while after taking a glass shard out of it.

You hissed, accidentally tightening the bandage in your trail of thoughts.

'I should hurry up before I get late. I don't think I'm in the condition to run extra laps. ' You thought getting up and making your way towards the door, trying your best to walk normally and not stand out. 'That's the last thing that I want to happen . '

You were a quiet person. Not totally closed off or anything and neither introverted. You socialised when only needed to and spoke when it was necessary and not just nonsensical babbling which some people didn't like apparently. You had your own set of bullies even in the inner district. You never thought hurting another human was even necessary neither with actions and nor with words. Which made you an efficient target for some potential bullies.

It was nighttime as you stared off into space above the greenery. Your bandages from different parts of your body, some being the cause of minor injuries while training while some other being given by bullies and thoughts constantly swirling through your head. Your family, bullies, co-cadets and him. You couldn't deny that when you joined you had an undeniable crush on your superior but soon enough his actions towards you made it crystal clear that he doesn't want anything to do with you and that he despises you. You chuckled bitterly 'The hope has long died at this point. It's even impossible to get off his hating list let alone anything else... '

Your chain of thoughts was broken when you heard giggling behind you.

"Look who's laughing like a psycho in the middle of the night all by herself. "

Your body froze at the sound of people. Those people. You turned around, looking up at their looming figures. "Not right now. Please." Your voice like glass as you were just asking for peace. At least this one time. "Hah! As if! "

"Look how she's begging to us now! "

One of them grabbed you by the hair, " Where did that attitude of yours go now huh? Always staying quite? Suddenly got a mouth to speak you b*tch? " He slammed your head down on the ground, causing it to hit a low laying rock, effectively causing blood to appear soon enough.

You muffled your groan, not wanting to give them the satisfaction they wanted. One of them kicked you in the stomach, "You should be crying out and not stopping our enjoyment! " You coughed. 'How can someone find even an ounce of joy in hurting another person.' They continued with a few subtle hits on your body when all three of them suddenly stopped. You looked up at their frozen-in-place figures as you laid on the ground, barely awake.

All you could hear was someone saying something and the footsteps of your bullies scurrying away farther and farther before you fell unconscious.

Timeskip

Your eyes opened to the sun shining in your face as you remembered last night. You quickly sat up, jerking a few injuries in the process as you heard a strict yet soft voice speak, "Careful. Your condition isn't at it's best. It'll only be appropriate if you keep laying down. " You looked up at the person, your eyes widening. "C-Captain." You gulped as you quickly shut your eyes as unstoppable apologies flew from your lips. "I-I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to trouble you nor did I want to cause the scene from last night! I-I sincerely apologize Si-! "

"Relax (Y/n). "

"H-Huh?" You looked up at him, surprised.

"I know what happened last night wasn't your fault. "

"Thank you Captain. " You spoke with your head down in respect, grateful.

Silence fell upon the room before Levi broke it.

"You should have told me. "

"W-What do you mean? "

"About those imbeciles. The ones who are responsible for your injuries. The ones who were the reason you passed out yesterday. "

Flashback

A bone chilling voice echoed throughout the area.

"In my office within 2 minutes if all of you don't want your punishment to be more severed than it's current intent."

Flashback end

"I apologize. "

"Needn't be. I understand the condition you might have been in. You have your own values and I shall not hinder them. "

Silence fell upon the room yet again as you stared at his face while he gazed in space.

"And.... I'm very well aware of the fact of how unapproachable I made myself to you for you to even be thinking about coming to me for a situation such as this one.......This wasn't what I should have been doing, neither as a captain nor as a.... friend...? " He cleared his throat, " Those terms aren't really made for me. But my point is, I wanted to apologise for how sorry I am for treating you that way. I might have not bullied you like those imbecile dogs but I didn't treat you any better either. "

"I'm sorry (Y/n). Deeply. " He looked directly into your eyes as your breath was caught in your throat. Whatever you expected him to say, it certainly wasn't that.

You shook your head, "Don't apologize please. It just makes me feel bad about the situations and myself. "

He chuckled lightly, oh how you thought that sight and sound was one to be beholded for a lifetime. "Alright. Let's.... start it from the beginning then...? " He extended his hand, somehow making the long lost spark in your eyes return just a little. Like a hope.

'The relationship between us might not be what I wanted it to but it's better. Alot better. And it's more than enough for now. '

You shook his hand, smiling at him brightly.

6. Who's your favorite lord/protagonist? Hnngh, technically Alear bc I think they were handled really well as a protagonist character and I adore their characterization and personality, and also as an "avatar-esque" character they fix a lot of issues I personally have with "avatar" and "avatar-esque" characters and also offer the solution to a very specific bone I have to pick w/ an entirely unrelated series that I won't get into bc it's not FE. But mostly I just, adore Alear, what a kind and sweet character, despite all the horrors.

Also I don't talk about it ever, but I really like Ike as a protagonist bc he's. Just some guy. Not royalty, not nobility, not secretly anyone special or of some sort of crazy bloodline (and we all know Tellius has some weird stuff going on with bloodlines), he's just a guy who gets caught up in things, and does his damned best to keep his friends alive through it all.

11. A character that deserved better? Answered here!

But for some more characters, I've got so many thoughts about Subaki (there are a lot of interesting implications about his past, but lack of any proper characterization beyond his joke trait of being a snooty perfectionist means I am literally grasping at straws; fandom likewise ignores him which is wild bc he's our first canonical male pegasus knight, but I mean, large cast so I get it), and Izana having a paired ending with Corrin for Revelations (in both the Japanese and localized versions) despite dying will haunt me forever (also rip that localization, I swear my love for this character isn't as random as it seems, I just happened to follow all the Japanese-release stuff before the localization dropped a year later, and have a really confusing impression of all the Fates characters as a result).

For Echoes, despite my ignoring him every run bc Sonya pretty, I think Deen should have had more...just more everything, I guess. In the actual game, since all his backstory is hidden in the artbook/records book project. He's actually a really cool character overall, but Sonya feels like she has so much more narrative relevance bc of Jedah and Marla and Hestia.

For 3H bc I have a whole lot of thoughts about all sorts of characters, I actually really wanted Sothis to get more...I dunno, narrative relevance as well. I wanna know what her regained memories were, her thoughts about Fodlan as it is. About Rhea and Seteth and Flayn. Three Hopes doesn't count bc the writers kinda butchered Sothis's characterization to the point of hardly being recognizable, and she deserved better than that.

12. A game that deserved better? Hmmmmmmmm, Engage and Fates for sure, at least as far as fan reception goes. Engage's was at least a bit better, but I still see people recycling the old arguments over Fates even all these years later and it's like, listen it was Fine, it was a good game, leave it be. (Also wildly unpopular opinion, but I think 3H--both Houses and Hopes--deserved better writing. What we got was okay, but it could have been so much better. For all the complaints it gets, at least Fates has consistent and completed worldbuilding with little to no questions about lore things at the end of all the routes and DLC. Like I love 3H, I really do, which is why I wish I got More and also Higher Quality writing and worldbuilding and lore and everything).

26. Come up with a pitch for a new FE title, no matter how silly it is! Let's blend fantasy with horror bc it's spooky season. Two nations are fighting each other over [insert some stupid excuse for a war to get people to enlist, but it's actually a scheme to get the people in power more power], and each nation has access to various weapons and things that seem normal at first, but slowly become more sinister and horrific the more the protagonist learns about them (i.e. maybe one of the armies has access to seemingly humane homunculi soldiers as an alternate to sending citizens to war, but it's later revealed that they can only be manufactured with parts of the dead, and the nation using them harvested their own population to make the homunculi army).

I dunno who this protagonist is, but I want them to be just some random person who gets caught up in things bc I love random people who get caught up in things. Anyhow, eventually the protagonist and friends figure out that both nations are harvesting their "technologies" from some sort of eldritch horror buried deep beneath the earth (which is NOT an evil entity, I feel this is important to note, but like I think it should be how the nations are using the being that's malicious, and the being is just a thing that exists), and I dunno, instead of fighting god or the being (which can be a dragon of sorts for the purposes of this being FE, and also be we don't have enough weird dragons in fiction), the protagonist and friends have to find a way to root out the corruption in both nations' rulers or something, although how balancing taking out two different final bosses would work who are also very much trying to kill each other, without doing split routes (which I'd like to avoid if possible) would be a task. (Maybe have the protagonist start off as part of an uprising/rebellion in one nation and then after throwing out the corrupt rulers, have to turn around and somehow fend off invasion from the other nation? I dunno, I'd have to think on this plot point a bit).

Oh but, hm...I've written all this, and now I kinda like the idea. Might let it stew in the back of my head for an original project later on.........

35. What's something you wish IntSys would just stop doing? I will sound like a broken record, but I think gender-locked classes are stupid, I want them vanished. Fates had it right (although I think I should have been allowed to stick men in maid dresses and women in butler suits. As a treat). If I can have nothing else, I want the gender-locked classes removed forever.

I'm also not a fan of split-routes (although again, Fates handled them better than 3H, in my opinion, but they're still a lot of work to get through). I was so relieved Engage was just one route. It's not like they're bad per se, it's just that FE has been kinda messy with the narrative trying to span that many routes. I'd rather have solid, consistent characterization and worldbuilding in a single route, than a flimsy attempt to explore various "what ifs".

EXCEPT for whatever the fresh hell FE Heroes is doing--the multiverse can continue to exist in that with all its weird "characters from this alternate universe you didn't even know existed now exist and can be summoned to fight alongside you in this incomprehensible Norse-themed story". Whatever FEH is doing is hilarious, I will never play it ever in my life, but I love seeing all the character art and pretty animated cutscenes. (And sometimes we get tidbits of interesting characterization for wildly underdeveloped characters. Sometimes).

Tw mention of religious trauma and maybe internalized homophobia (my Jojo is angsty what did you expect)

They are definitely the cute/soft boy ship

Like you want happy and heartwarming vibes ? You go for them

Of course they have their hard times but to me they are the easiest ship to write pure fluff for

Bc in my opinion both of them are the absolute sweetest. Jojo is always pretty cheerful and optimistic while Mike is the kind of person who always has a smile on. Also both of their smiles are contagious so that's why

Also remember when I said they were both gay disasters but with an opposite energy let me elaborate

We all know that Jojo has been raised by nuns, right ? So I know it's like almost canon at this point but I'll say it again, he is really not comfortable with being gay

As in he was taught that it's bad, even though all his friend tell him it's not. He is fine with his friend being queer, but when it comes to himself and romance he loses all his self-confidence

So most of the time he is like so happy and cheerful because he doesn't think about it and when he actually starts thinking about it he'll most likely panic because he was taught loving guys is bad and he'll think he doesn't deserve people to love him

Okay I went a little far from the heartwarming stuff I talked about but I needed to establish that

So anyway my point was, Jojo being jojo will be pretty oblivious when it comes to love and yeah sometimes it's cute but sometimes it can get angsty

Now onto Mike, I like picturing him as the guy who acts cool and flirty all the time. As in he'll always be joking/messing around and pretending to flirt with everyone, friends and strangers

Sells a lot of papes that way

"So hotshot anyone ever told you you have really pretty eyes"

Except our boy is actually an hopeless romantic inside so the second someone he likes flirts back he becomes completely useless. He will blush a lot, probably stutter and most likely say something stupid that he will overthink after

So um yeah they are chaotic disasters

Anyway now that's established let's get into their actual dynamic

Remember when I said one of my favorite tropes for them was mutual pinning ? I just think this one as a lot of potential because they are both pretty dumb and oblivious

Y'know the "A fell first and B fell harder trope ?" Yeah you can forget it Mike fell first and hard

One day he just looks at his best friend and realizes he is in love with him

Then he starts pinning like an absolute dumbass, at times he'll just stare into Jojo's eyes and get all flustered because he suddenly forgot how to speak

Don't wanna bring in the usual scene with one guy burrying his face in a pillow because how can I be so fucking dumb while another guy is just dying of laughter next to him but this happened at least once with Ike

Except Jojo doesn't even think much about it he'll just brush it off like it's normal

Takes a lot of time for them to stop being idiots

At first Jojo is super scared about dating so there is a lot of angst in the beginning

Meanwhile Mike will try his hardest to make Jojo understand he is loved and has the right to be happy

When Jojo starts getting more confident about it he goes back to his cheerful self. I think he would totally be the type of guy who makes flirty comments at his boyfriend all the time to mess with him

Actually it's more like Mike says something flirty to tease him -> Jojo answers something flirty because he knows exactly what he is doing -> at that point you have lost Mike he became a blushing mess

So sometimes he'll say something really cute in Spanish and Mike has no idea what it is but he understands the way Jojo said it so he gets all flustered

Jojo actually loves making Mike blush by saying he really likes him or stuff like that except at that point he is still scared of expressing his feelings out loud

Jojo is the shy/scared one so at first he is scared to hold hands in public or show any PDA in front of their friends

Also their first kiss omg-

Actually one day Mike just leaned in impulsively and brushed his lips past Jojo's but pulled away almost immediately because he got scared of how the other boy would react and he was pretty sure he had done smth stupid

They both stared at each other wide-eyed for a solid minute before actually leaning in again

Anyway it was really sweet and innocent because Mike could feel Jojo was kinda scared and inexperienced so he was very gentle

Ahem anyway-

But once again when he gains confidence he'll often try to be as close to Mike as he can

I picture them as really touchy bfs they would always be holding hands, brushing against each other's shoulder or cuddling

And when they are holding hands guess who starts blushing yeah it's Mike

He is really happy about it though because he gets to see his boyfriend happy and be the one who made him that happy

They are 100% the kind of couple who would always do romantic stuff like cute dates, looking at the stars or dancing together

Anyway think about them just grinning stupidly when they're around each other and ahjfhakjfhj

I'll have to entirely get back to this bc ive only seen a playthrough for b&w (and am playing it( while I haven't seen too much for b&w2 (the most is through pokemon masters ex) under cut bc it got too long

B side is what's happening in unova (and hisui) while the three are gone. Not gonna lie with hidui volo does dissappear but it's mostly people thinking he's traveling or learning new things (idk if it happens before or after the last boss fight in pla before yknow who so hhh).

In unova it's a bit funky wacky. Nimbasa city does not have a gym leader nor does it have anyone to run the subway stations.

I have b&w brainrot rn I'm not going to lie. As a temporary set up, N takes the lead for nimbasa city's gym (I'd assume w zekrom bc electric type and also who he uses in pokemon masters ex,, despite me playing white). Hilbert and Hilda also come back and take over the subway (pov you go to challenge the battle subway and the former champions of unova are there ro kick your ass. I think its funny).

Because I haven't played through b&w2 I cant entirely say *what* ghetsis and colress are doing . But they're doing something. The b&w 2 protags (and also rival hugh) along with the gym leaders (hello I have brainrot part 2), the elite four, (cynthia if shes in the reigon. Ik shes there in the summer in b&w so-) Champion iris, + Alder are all trying to figure out where tf they disappeared to. Because it's three important people. A gym leader doesn't suddenly dissappear without a cause or a reason, same w the subway bosses. Their genuine mind thought is 'team plasma is doing shit' (tbf they are bc a gym leader is, yknow,, gone)

So thwre is a weird balance thing going on and things certainly seem... (COUGH COUGH) black and white.

There's also a lot of personal feelings (MOST OF THESE ARE HCS SO AUGH)

The protags and the rivals (also N he's there too) are very thrown off by this. Afaik Hilda and Hilbert go searching for N after b&w so it seems like they'd try to go searching for elesa and the twins (ofc not as strong if a connection as they had to N but still very important). N also would like to get behind this because people don't just let go of their ideals that fast to pursue some far off truth that may not be real etc. I can't entirely answer how Cheren and Bianca feel considering I have yet to play b&w 2 HOWEVER i can say that theyre both very lost (that also goes for the b&w2 protags and Hugh but theyre thrown into this very suddenly).

Also with Cynthia being in Unova (at least canonically in the game during a season) it certainly leads to *some* hints on where ingo went (bc again he was missing first and then elesa and emmet)Emmet.

Again this probably will be changed once I play b&w2 (I can't find a good playthrough so ya)

Yes they all think 'oh they're looking for ingo' at first but it's genuine radio silence. It's been years since they've been in contact. Years once the nimbasa trio + Volo have been 'home'. Years since Unovans last saw them (also rip volo) so they kinda have time to get into these new 'positions'. Hilda and Hilbert run the battle subway (not as fun as adventuring but also the other option is to close it) and N is dealing with the nimbasa city gym (+ being a gym leader. Incredibly awkward since but technicality he was the king of team plasma.

sorry i refuse to believe emmy (or even willemmy) engages in any sort of group scenes with the rest of the characters. the only exception i would make is the train scene (bc it exists even though it makes me want to gauge my eyes out reading it 🙄). aside from the train scene there is no other evidence that would suggest she would be okay with that stuff. ik emmy personally and she would never let another guy (who isn’t will) put hands on her. if will allows that than he is not a real man in my eyes. lets just hope em goes back to san francisco maybe that’s what’s best for her.

You can believe that if you want to. I'd argue that all of the group scenes sort of came out of no where and none of the other couples gave off sharing vibes until it happened. At least for me. But the truth is that not only was there the train scene, but there was also the Blackchurch scene and the scene in the school between Will and Damon. So maybe they don't share exactly, but could be voyeurs. Emory does like watching other people.

As for Emory not letting anyone else touch her, if that's your preference, then ok. I personally prefer to think that Emory didn't have any hook ups, just because I don't see it happening and I don't think it's a big deal if she doesn't. But I'll admit it's not impossible, so if others head canon that, I won't push the point.

And I disagree. I hope Emory and Will stay together and happily raise their children, and see their grandchildren, and they are buried in Thunder Bay next to each other. Or however they want their remains to be taken care of.

But that's just me😊

you timed this ask REAL well, because i actually finished them the other day! just been sitting on them because i felt like something was missing, but since i'll be mostly working on the next chapter for the next week i figured i might as well post them now and not spend too much time fussing over them

so, without any further ado: some notes on that doctor who au, feat. barbatos as the doctor and ik as his companion!

(none of this is canon compliant with actual doctor who by the way)

alright so, the set up:

ik's backstory is pretty much the same as the original one from jtta - young teen growing up in a low-income household, lowkey emotionally neglected by her father, etc, etc.

barbatos, meanwhile, is the newest reincarnation of the doctor!!!! *whoot whoot*

except everything is not whoot whoot because i've made this angsty

so barbatos has been alone ever since he regenerated

the incarnation before him was betrayed by their companion, which led to their death, at which point they regenerated into barbatos

and, because of this giant emotional wound, he's just kinda been roaming emptily around the cosmos on his own

it's not that he'll nEVer trUSt aGaIn, because that's a very overused trope, and also he had so many companions that he could absolutely trust before this, that last one being a traitor was an outlier

he's just still very hurt - even though the stress of the regeneration process and becoming an new person blurred a lot of the memories of that previous incarnation, it also intensified the pain of the whole thing, even though he doesn't really fully remember why

so barbatos just explores the stars on his own for a long while - not saving anyone or anything, just wandering

and eventually he figures he feels pretty alright again, so he might as well return to earth, his favourite planet (that also keeps getting invaded by aliens every time he visits)

and what do you know! as soon as he lands he realises that the planet's being invaded by aliens!!!!

quick break to describe what kind of doctor barbatos is:

you're probably expecting a tortured soul type, but honestly barbatos is mostly fine. i mean, he's had ages to himself to process the whole betrayal thing and let it go.

(plus after living as long as he has, he just has to learn not to dwell too long on stuff like this - there's a lot more and a lot worse trauma in his past)

doctor barb is calm, logical, analytical. he isn't the comic relief so much as he is the straight man (not in a hetero way, in a comedy way) to the nonsense happening around him

he's courteous and polite, the gentleman-type, but also has a habit of saying the most batshit insane things with the straightest face, and then moving on without acknowledging it at all

he follows that doctor motto of being kind and saving everyone, but at the same time he's not very friendly. he's polite and hospitable, but also very emotionally distant - pretty much like regular obey me barbatos, actually!

okay break over

so the alien invasion happens, barb investigates and stops it, and along the way ik somehow gets caught up in the whole thing

(i'm way oversimplifying how this adventure would go)

and then it's the typical 'potential new companion' stuff - some fun banter, ik does a cool thing and helps save the day, barbatos accidentally tragically monologues a bit and also realises how much he's missed having company during his adventures

he's hesitant about taking her on as a companion though, because as we all know the doctor's constantly getting in life-threatening situations, and that's a whole CHILD that he'd be endangering

so he figures 'i'll just leave the tardis's number with the child in case of emergency, and find a different companion that's at least old enough to buy a pair of scissors on their own'

except that doesn't happen, so he just spends a bit off having adventures on his own

and then he gets a call from ik

something something another alien invasion, but THIS time her dad's involved

adventure and tragedy ensues, ik's dad ends up dead, and now ik is traumatised (as all iks are doomed to be, apparently)

barb doesn't know how to handle it, but as poor as he is at being one, ik's already latched onto him as a comfort figure

so he figures - might as well take her in, right? he just has to make sure he ONLY takes her to the safe places, and absolutely NOT anywhere where she might be at even the slightest risk of dying

he takes this as a kind of duty of care, and he's aware that he does hold some kind of fondness for ik, but so far he thinks it's more of a sense of obligation + 'i think she's a cool little kid' than anything else

THEN something inevitably goes wrong on a trip, ik ends up in danger, the sand in his magical hourglass-earring suddenly stops running (see the text on this post for context), and barbatos is like 'oh shit i genuinely have affection for this child'

meanwhile ik (in the aftermath of the whole life-in-danger thing, during which she had a moment where she thought 'maybe i should just die') has her own realisation, which is 'uh oh i think i'm a lot more fucked up in the head than i thought'

there's like a quiet little moment in the aftermath where she very tentatively conveys this to barbatos, who, in the light of his recent revelation, immediately resolves himself to help her

so from now on he's keeping ik safe while also tentatively helping her properly recover from her dad's death and get into a healthier mindset, through long long talks and showing her all the coolest and most beautiful corners of the universe

he also takes it upon himself to teach ik a lot of the stuff she's missing because she's away from standard human school on space-time adventures, plus a whole bunch more

and barbatos ALSO also helps ik realise that her dad wasn't really the greatest dad + becomes that nurturing parental figure that she's really been lacking her whole life

ik gets a lot more lively (and daring) as time goes on, and soaks up all the stuff barb teaches her like a sponge

at some point she starts being able to do the whole doctor thing of fast talking and fun sci-fi one-liners, while barbatos stands and smiles proudly in the background

so that's where we'll leave them! NO tragic stuff, just a happy ik and her time lord dad who go on adventures where they meet aliens, see stars, and save planets (plus sometimes the entire universe)

(idk what the other jtta characters are doing throughout all of this but some of them could probably be recurring friendly allies encountered during the time-and-space adventures - like jack harkness i guess - and a couple could probably become companions too??)

The Erin's don't say and Reedwhisker is made an apprentice around the same time Ashfur and Ferncloud were, thereabouts I'd expect. (Both Brindleface and Mistyfoot were pregnant at the same time. I think Brindle's litter is a moon or 2 older though. Idk.) But he has been through ALOT. When I realized Mistyfoot didn't mention her kits in Canon I assumed those whose bones were mixed in with Bonehill, but then I noticed Reedwhisker in TNP and investigated him, found out he was Reedpaw, Misty's kit, and had the same thoughts you did. She made him her fucking deputy, a mother's love is literally the MOST painful life a leader receives. In Misty AU, there is no Choice. It sucks, it's fucking painful, but Featherpaw is dying and they need to get out. But I can also see Reedpaw being the one of the few cats desensitized to EVERYTHING when Tigerstar loses all his nine lives? Man, I can even see him say "Oh...so this has happened now too. Can anything else get more fucked up?" Especially in Leopard AU. He's. Well in that one, he's seen and heard some shit. Now a leader's had all nine lives ripped from them with one blow and all clans have three days to get the fuck out or else? And Shadowclan just...flees back to their territory after trashing Riverclan's, their leader and medicine cat aren't talking (not that he can blame Leopardstar, he hates Mudfur too, by now.) He doesn't have a mentor anymore. (Not that Blackfoot really was one.) And he still hasn't seen his mother, or Feather, or Storm. But yay, his dad can actually treat him like he's his son again? So...that's something, I guess. Misty AU, after the Bloodclan battle, finding out his mom's pregnant with that monster's kits, like Twanypaw wasn't enough of a reminder. Tbh, I think he'd honestly have some beef with Twany. "You willingly gave up your mom, who loves you, and your brother, who also loves you and joined a fucking monster? Are you for real right now?" (In either AU, this warrior WOULD definitely have interrupted the Gathering once Blackstar announced Twanypelt's kits names. "You're letting her settle an innocent with that name, giving THAT Monster a fucking Legacy, and burdening her son with THE SAME SHIT SHE LEFT THUNDERCLAN FOR SHADOWCLAN FOR? ARE YOU FOR FUCKING REAL? BECAUSE THERE NEEDS TO BE A GOOD TIGER-WHATEVER THE FUCK? SHE'S A FUCKING SHITTY QUEEN, AND YOU'RE A SHITTY LEADER, BLACKSTAR.") Just...Reedpaw telling Stone or Misty everything he saw and heard that night Feathervand her escaped, Leopardstar's first death, how she struggled against Tigerstar and "he just held her head in the river and looked at her like she was a kit he was chastising." He shakes as he says this, choking on the last words, and Mudfur has to bring him poppy seeds to help him sleep that night. He gives me feels. In Canon he survives Tigerclan, Bloodclan, the destruction of the forest, the journey to the lake, the Great Battle, and now this whole no Starclan thing. If there was ever someone who needed therapy it's him...and I can't really see Reedwhisker being the type to think Misty didn't love him. He knows he was relatively safe compared to Feather and Storm, and...tbh I think he'd tell Misty she made the right choice. And I think that would probably break Mistyfoot's heart more in all three AUs then anything else. Feather's, too. (She's too kind, I swear.)

When I realized Mistyfoot didn't mention her kits in Canon I assumed those whose bones were mixed in with Bonehill, but then I noticed Reedwhisker in TNP and investigated him, found out he was Reedpaw, Misty's kit, and had the same thoughts you did.

re reedwhisker's age: unless/until i get a confirmation that he was apprenticed, etc., on page, or an erin statement about it, i'm maintaining my position. he doesn't show up in asir which you would 100% expect him to, and asir was published june 2020, which means reedwhisker as mistystar's surviving kit was known, which means that i really don't think he was born yet. like i really, really, really think that someone mistakenly went, "well, mistyfoot had a litter in tpb, so reedwhisker was a part of that litter," and we've all just been operating under that assumption.

(open to changing that opinion on evidence. i just need a source -- an erin statement, author chat, blogclan, a book, w/e, just something that will confirm when reedwhisker was actually born.)

because like -- ferncloud is nearly a year older than the bramble, storm, primrose, etc., so i don't know. there's no good timeline. reedwhisker appears as a fully grown warrior in twilight. so. heck if i know.

like there's no way mistyfoot would leave him behind? there's no way he wouldn't want to reunite with stormfur and feathertail and his mom? like he would be in asir, right? i'm not crazy? of all cats?

but moving on from my open anger re. the reedpaw problem;

i mean -- to be clear, mistyfoot and featherpaw are in riverclan from the beginning of tigerclan to the end in the misty au. no escapes are made. so even if reedpaw was alive, they're there. unlike the other aus, the misty au is Defined by yours truly because i'm actually writing it. so none of that angst, just the -- pain of watching the fall.

and yeah he's just. so done and over everything.

and oh my god like -- he thinks he's Very alone in the leopard au. because he doesn't -- oh my god. and when they show up in riverclan again it's great but also -- he's been alone witnessing all of this Shit holy god i swear.

mistyfoot is...not Really visibly pregnant until after tigerclan, and he wouldn't be close enough to smell it, so yeah -- he'd still be surprised. or maybe. not surprised so much as. argh. you know like. he doesn't want to face it.

i like the idea of him having this very complex but entirely one-sided relationship to tawny. like, they went through some pretty similar stuff, but she chose it, and embraced it, and that's. you know. and she doesn't really think of him because she doesn't Know that like. mistyfoot is his mom.

and yes more people calling out tawnypelt's terrible naming decisions. i mean i love the angst it gives me for writing purposes and tigerheart is my favourite husband in warriors (he's so in love with his wife i love him for that), but yeah. what.

and oh my god like -- he would be the one to explain things. because -- i mean because he's scared and alone and is the only one who saw this and hasn't been able to say anything and he finally sees his family and Safe and. they're all watching him like "oh shit how the fuck did it get worse after we left" and oh-

all of these cats need therapy.
