I keep seeing posts where people are saying "Valentines doesn't effect asexuals!" "romantic relationships have nothing to do with asexuality!" And while i understand the point they are making is to stop conflating Aromanticism with Asexuality, it is still extremely annoying to find people don't understand the nuance that comes with asexualities connection to romance - because it DOES have a connection to it. It DOES have problems in relation to romance. To say it doesn't is ignoring a huge set is experiences that ace people face.
One of the most common experiences for asexuals is the struggle to be in romantic relationships because they are asexual. a lot of romantic relationships expect you to have sex. if you're someone who doesn't have sex then unfortunately that causes a lot of people to lose interest in you romantically as well.
There's also non-sam aces, and let me tell you it's so very strange to hear someone bring up non-sam aros but then ignore the existence of non-sam aces in order to prove some point of it somehow being ace peoples fault that aro and ace are viewed as the same. Some non-sam aces do not date either. they are still ace and they can still face similar problems to aromantic people because of that. they are still effected my amatonormativity.
Aces DO have connection to romance. Asexual DID have a reason to trend on valentines day along with Aro and Aroace. Asexuality is effected my romance and amatonormativity. Sop acting like it isn't. stop acting like aros and aces have absolutely nothing in common. We can work together and have similar experiences and still be seen as separate identities. there is overlap. stop treating this as black and white where one identity can only be effected by one kind of problem. It's naive at best and down right hateful at worse.

(disclaimer, this is coming from a heartstopper fan! i love heartstopper this is not hate!!)
i think at least part of the annoyance with heartstopper isn't just that isn't a light fluffy ya series, it's also that its another example of how the queer media that gets the most mainstream attention tends to be this kind of light fluffy ya stuff that focuses on two conventially attractive queer boys or men and it also tends to be written by people who aren't queer men on top of that, so not only can it feel very samey but it can feel like other queer people are relegated to side characters in the stories of cis gay men. and as someone who loves heartstopper i get that on some level.
btw by "written by people who aren't queer men" NOT saying that isn't not written by queer people. alice oseman is genderfluid and aroace, becky albertalli is bisexual, etc. and while i think the point is still valid there is a misogyny element in that a lot of the focus is put on things that are written by women or people they perceive as women while tumblr darlings like good omens and ofmd (written by presumably straight men) don't get the same treatment.
nah y'know what, that's fair, I can get how frustrating it can be for a lot of popular queer stories to feel samey, I've definitely gotten BL-fatigue in the past on platforms like WT and Tapas because many of them ARE the same and feel like they're just piggybacking off trends for the sake of clout (and this is a problem in the heterocis romance stories too, don't get me fucking started on how dark romance has turned into torture porn where vulnerable women are constantly being victimized by rich powerful men and we're just supposed to root for that ??), but it's one of those things where like, what might be seen as just more corny shit could very well be the revelation another person needs that they're gay / trans / etc. that the story helped them realize. there's just a point where i see these arguments against cheesy popular queer stories that teeter dangerously close to being queerphobic and, as you said, misogynist, simply because "it was written by someone who i perceive as a woman so that makes it BAD!"
and I didn't mention it in the original post because I didn't want to @ OP in any way but in the comment section they literally said "i dont think heartstopper itself is all that bad but it has pretty much aimed the direction of all mainstream gay comics towards wholesomeness instead of anything more interesting so i want to destroy heartstopper to destroy heartstopper clones" and that gives me massive ick because it implies their sole reasoning for including it was "chill and happy queer stories bad, if a character doesn't suffer enough then they're not interesting"?? why can't LGBTQ+ audiences have more 'vanilla' stories that aren't all sad and angsty all the time? are we not entitled to the same corny romcom vanilla shit that the heterocis are entitled to? why do LGBTQ+ characters - and by extension, people - have to suffer to qualify as being 'interesting'? You're already interesting, you're you! like i'm sorry, are we trying to scare people straight??? 😭 shit, that's even a plot point that's touched on in Heartstopper itself where Nick is questioning his sexuality and he starts googling shit and it's just ALL the terrifying news stories of queer kids being ostracized / bullied / murdered / etc. and as much as it's important to be aware of the ongoing issues so we can keep fighting for our rights, we ALSO need to find balance and remember to celebrate the stories that AREN'T that because we need something to be hopeful for, something we can find peace in. I don't think Heartstopper is some deeply profound piece of work, but it also doesn't seem like it's trying to be? It's a low stakes celebration of the LGBTQ+ experience that's very warm and comforting, especially for those who are the same ages as the main characters who are often being persuaded by the grown-ups around them that it's a death sentence to be gay / trans / etc.
and it's not like we HAVEN'T had popular pieces of queer representative media that explored things outside of cheesy BL, like are we forgetting about Nimona which explored both the gay and genderfluid experience in a very accessible and fun way while still being mature and not pandering to its audience over how society has made monsters out of queer people?
Tumblr media
(and even then I'm sure there are folks who would argue "actually, here are the issues with Nimona" , and that's fine tbh, we can like media and appreciate what it brings to the table while also discussing what it lacks in, such as what we're doing now with Heartstopper! progress is a never-ending journey!!)
and also okay, not me trying to be argumentative in the slightest BUT I don't really get the argument that 'other queer people' are being sidelined for the main characters? unless there's something I'm missing here lol (I will apologize for that because it's admittedly been a while since I've re-read Heartstopper so I should probably go do that to refresh myself on it). like i say that in the sense that Heartstopper is clearly meant to be about two gay male teenagers. just like how Nimona is about a shapeshifter who is not a girl or a boy (they're Nimona!) and a gay man who are both trying to change the system that's other'd them for years for the better. that is the story Heartstopper is trying to tell and it achieves that. it also has a trans character plotline that I could see people arguing feels sidelined but I think there's a massive difference between 'sidelining' and just having a B plot ? my honest take with that is not every piece of representative media is going to be able to cover every single topic, it's just not doable for one piece of media to be a monolith for everything, the same as how one person can't be a monolith for an entire community of people. BUT that doesn't mean works like Heartstopper and Nimona can't inspire others to also lend their voices into the medium and create that representation that's needed. That's why we need ✨variety✨ and Heartstopper is part of that variety by offering a more vanilla cutesy story full of good vibes for people who want that sort of thing.
IDK, I think there's just a lot of nuance that's being missed in that poll, and in the difference between Heartstopper inspiring more people to write happy cozy BL stories vs. implying that it's had an actual negative influence on modern art and media in the same way that series like Homestuck and LO have to the point that people think it needs to be destroyed, like wtf LOL Like they're not even comparable IMO and a lot of the arguments I see people making about why it is just feel a little backwards, and those arguments obfuscate the real issue which is just "popular thing is popular and people like to piggyback off popular shit". That's a fact for basically any niche and genre, these trends come and go. Even if the whole cutesy BL trend passes one day (which it will) it'll be replaced by something else that people will also inevitably find samey and boring after a while. This is not a concept that's unique to LGBTQ+ media, it's universal.
Balance is important and I think finding that balance is as much a responsibility on the shoulders of the consumer as it is on the creator. And I don't think Heartstopper deserves to be put into the same camp as stories like LO which literally straightwashes its canonically queer characters and gives those queer identities to nothingburger characters who are easy to shoo out of the plot to make way for the heterocis ones (while still parading itself around like it's actually 'queer rep' which... it really isn't.) Like all three of the comics in that poll are vastly different, serving different audiences, with different goals and intentions. It's comparing apples to oranges to pineapples.
The worst Heartstopper has to offer is just a low stakes plot that might not appeal to everyone or feel 'samey' which yeah, valid, but in the grander sense of whether or not it's had a negative effect on queer media just for being... cheesy? And inspiring other people to write stories like it? I don't get the argument, it feels like it's severely missing the point of what we're fighting for here - to live happy little unbothered lives - but that's just me ╮( ̄ω ̄;)╭ I'm definitely not trying to be a dick about it in any way and I don't want anyone to think I'm not open to the opposing points here, I do agree with you on the oversaturation of samey BL stories, but it just rose some massive red flags to see Heartstopper next to frigging Homestuck and Lore Olympus LOL

Some silly platonic headcanons of bill cipher x reader pls?
Oh hell yeah!!! I love my lil AroAce triangle >:3
Bill Cipher X Reader [PLATONIC!]
Tumblr media
Alright, well, for starters, how you became friends could vary.
Either you’re some messed up otherworldly creature with a thirst for chaos and destruction like him, or some unsuspecting human. Or maybe you knew what you were doing? Who knows! Bill knows.
Regardless, at first he doesn’t pay you much mind. You’re simply another pawn on the chessboard to him.
He can get bored easy, so he hangs out around you a lot. Not for long, mainly frequent short visits.
He finds you amusing, you and your antics! If you’re a dimensional thing like him, he’s quick to invite you to join him in wrecking havoc. If you’re a human, he’s more still in the ‘I’m better lol’ mindset.
When you guys are finally friends, he will try to convince you to let him possess you. Not all the time! And very infrequently! Come on, won’t you help a pal out?
His love language (PLATONICALLY) is acts of service and gift giving. He’s not an emotional being by any means at all, so this is how he expresses his care for you.
As canonically presented, his gifts are kinda…..messed up.
deer teeth, a eternal screaming head, weird shit in general.
Also with acts of service he totally offers to take care of anything bothering you. Someone annoyed you? He can get rid of them! Don’t you worry your fuzzy little head!
A litttlleeee bit of a platonic yandere but who here’s surprised….
He does a lot of small things for you that you might not notice. Like picking something up, summoning an object, giving you whatever small thing you happen to want at that time, yeah.
If something happened to you he’d probably go crazy ngl.
You’re like his partner in crime!
Also, if you’re human he makes sure you’re taking care of your meat-suit properly.
Have you drank water? Eaten? Slept? Done all the human things?
One last thing, I feel like Bill would love Doritos. I know this kinda doesn’t match the theme, but there used to be this whole ‘Bill hates Doritos they’re his species :(‘ kinda thing and while it is funny, personally I disagree. I think he’d find it hilarious, and probably eat them specifically because they look like him. He’s a little creacher.
Here they are!! Again, sorry it took forever. I’ve been busy with school n shit, but I’m working on these requests one by one.

do you support jkr? /genq
because i really like your content but am a little unnerved so i would like to clarify so i can put my mind at ease
Thank you for asking anon maggot and here you shall have my answer (I have to say I might get a tad bit emotional because this is very very very important to me):
FUCK JKR WE DO NOT SUPPORT JKR OR HER TRANSPHOBIA ON THIS BLOG. I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO YELL THIS LOUDER BUT I CANNOT POSSIBLY.
Fuck JKR, and fuck everything she did to tear away the safe space her stories had made from queer people everywhere. Fuck her for using her position of influence to endanger the lives of a community that's already so vulnerable.
I'm a trans man, and while I refuse to let what she did take away the joy I've found in the queer parts of the Harry Potter fandom (because it exists, god bless fandom), I will never spend a day without feeling sick at the thought of how much grief she's brought to me and queer people everywhere.
[adding an edit here to say that there is an explicit discussion of transphobia below, so content warning, skip the next two paragraphs if you need to]
It's really sad that I understand completely why you asked that question, anon maggot. Because every time I enjoy someone's content or a creator, I'm always, always wondering but what if, but what if they hate my community, but what if they're against people like me, I don't know if I can feel safe here.
I never know if I can feel safe anywhere. I have to sit and listen to people who love me and I'm not out to, as they talk about how trans people shouldn't have basic human rights. It's a sickening feeling to know how if I said just one sentence, people who claimed to love me, the families of my friends, would immediately just... turn on me. Invalidate me at best, and I'd rather not think about the worst.
Please know that this blog supports all queer people (yes that includes people who are aroace spec, of course it does, that should not be discourse that is happening at all, but it is, so yeah).
You are all safe here. I will do everything possible to make sure you know that.

My theory is that Mimzy was once Alastor’s best friend, he maybe even thought he might have been in love with her at one point, in that manner aroace people who don’t know they’re aroace often do, that she was then sacrificed by this cult, and that Alastor had them infiltrated and taken down every member of that cult over decades, losing more and more of himself each time as those he killed grew less and less directly connected to the crime, “sorry you just got in my way, maybe I enjoy it just a little bit does that make me insane”, but that in the act of doing so, that contradiction of righteous intent and pure depravity, along with whatever ritual for power the cult had initially started upon, let’s say in honour of Roo (the root of all evil in the Hellaverse, a character yet to be introduced), and that on Alastor’s eventual death, he then found himself in Hell all-powerful, and set about bringing down those Overlords beneath his power continuing this moral code, until he hit a wall, finding himself having ended all Overlords less powerful than him / otherwise came to his senses on meeting Mimzy again and finding her to have gone to hell, recognising that “weren’t you an old pal of mine” and really nothing more and deciding mere power, entertainment is all he now desires. But that still, out of obligation, that he must kill Lucifer, the Devil, for a sense of completion, while still being allowed to exist himself afterward. Which leads to whatever deal he ended up trapped in seven years before the events of the series, and him getting Charlie to make a deal with him to “harm no one” at a certain point in the future: to ensure that when the time comes that he will be able to kill Lucifer, and the one person able to stop him won’t be able to. To really make Alastor a true Exterminator, more measured, the embodiment of how the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
That would be interesting. We really don’t know Alastor’s motivations behind anything. He says it’s all for fun and entertainment, and he certainly seems to get joy out of it, but that could all be surface level.
He and Mimzy definitely have an interesting relationship. As an aroace person who has thought I’ve had crushes on friends before I can definitely relate to it. He seems to genuinely care about her.
The whole thing with the hotel definitely has an underlying motive, but I think it’s still unclear if it’s “good” or “bad” yet. He wants it to succeed for reasons. He has beef with Lucifer… because?
It makes him such an enticing character! Because we don’t know if he’s gonna be an ally or an enemy! And we really don’t know what he’s thinking! He could hate Lucifer because of a deep reason or plan, or it literally could just be because he hates people more powerful than him. He could have a whole in-depth backstory or he could just be kinda always like this. He could be calculating or it could all be more impulsive. He has his own separate thing going on separate from the rest of the hotel, and we’re as in the same about it as the other characters
There are certainly tons of theories to be had though!! Especially with the crumbs they gave across the season!

AITA for not wanting my brother to follow Islam?🐢
(Emoji so I can recognize my submission)
⚠WARNING⚠: This is a reaaal long one and also contains discussion of some potentially triggering subjects.
I'll try and explain this as concisely as I can but this is just a part of a long ongoing issue I have had with my brother. I (16F/X) have been at odds with my brother (19M) over a multitude of subjects. We debate often but the problem is he is very stubborn so the debates usually don't result in anything beyond me being frustrated and his opinions remaining unchanged. The problem is that he has unfortunately started going down a nazi rabbit hole and picking up all sorts of extremely harmful ideas. I'll list some of them for you so you can get a general picture: Denying evolution, the rothschild conspiracy, general antisemitism, transphobia, monarchism /facism, calling all sexual content filthy, misogynistic ideas, hating on atheists, etc. As an atheist who is also aroace, nonbinary and also very progressive, this makes me feel greatly uncomfortable. Let me be clear, I don't think I'm the asshole for opposing these ideas, the part where I could be the asshole is me opposing his transition into religion. A lot of his more radical ideas started sprouting after he started getting into Islam like the whole denying evolution thing and his rampant antisemetism. Also just to be clear, I have nothing against Muslims and I am not trying to say that Muslims inherently don't believe in basic science, it's just the particular circles that my brother has been exposed to that are giving him these ideas. However I will acknowledge the that it might be my own implicit bias that is making me reject his own interest in Islam. I'd also like to note my brother has been struggling with his health basically his entire teen life, where he has trouble sleeping, has barely any energy and this has led to him becoming depressed. He barely has any interests and those he had he's recently said he no longer enjoys. It's clear to me this is why such toxic ideas have appealed to him, because he feels disconnected and lonely. He barely goes out, he barely eats, he sleeps until the early afternoon, he has to shave and shower every single time he goes out and if he accidentally nicks himself while shaving he will adamantly refuse to go. It really upsets me to see him this way because I can tell he is suffering but he will never talk to me about it. However it doesn't change the fact that he has said some truly abhorrent things. I have tried many times to show him he's wrong or to gently guide him towards a more progressive and educated outlook but he is too stubborn to change.
This fully came to a head when we were having dinner together with our parents and he kept repeating the same arguments that god must be real because XYZ or, evolution is fake because XYZ and I would tell him why I disagreed with his reasoning. Continue in circles for two whole hours. This ended with me telling him that he was a dumbass and that he should stop watching religious content.
I feel I am an asshole here because just as I don't want to be forced into a religion, I shouldn't force him out of one, but I feel since he's picked up religious ideas he's only gotten worse. Just yesterday he officially became a Muslim at a nearby mosque. I feel I should be happy for him but I can already see problems that may arise. He has to do 5 prayers (salat) a day at certain times and this morning he slept through two. I also worry about Ramadan since he's already very skinny and barely eating, I don't think further fasting will help at all.
Even worse, he's been spreading some of his ideas to my parents. They don't take on all his BS thankfully but they have absorbed some of the more troubling stuff, particularly his transphobia. I try to avoid queer topics as much as I can for this reason but whenever it does come up I always feel sick just sitting there listening to them.
Yet again I want to reiterate that Muslims are not a monolith and do not all share the same opinions but an unfortunately high number are greatly opposed to the idea of queer people. Not to mention many hold strong beliefs regarding the strict divisions of male and female. I don't know. Yet again, it could just be accidental Islamophobia on my part but I don't think it's a coincidence that he started getting more extreme once he got into particular Muslim circles.
So tumblr, AITA?
What are these acronyms?

[rotbb headcanons_001]
anon asked: How would Chung myung react if someone declared love to him? Like someone he doesn’t have feelings for or barely knows, would he just be like “get away from me” while being considerate, or “get away from me” while openly hating that person
character: pbss!chung myung (AND) mhdd!chung myung
summary: chung myung rejection headcanons
author's note: honest to god i didn't see this ask until like today,,,
═══════════════
CHUNG MYUNG would probably respond to the confession differently based on the person who's confessing to him. like his attitude will range from disconnect to hostility depending on which of the categories the person would fall into.
STRANGERS
CHUNG MYUNG would try to get this over with as soon as possible. honestly, he might not even look at that other person in the eyes as he's turning them down.
oh. uh... sorry? i don't feel that way about you?
CHUNG MYUNG would feel really awkward at that moment and after he's done saying his part he would get out of that place quickly before the other person can respond. his philosophy is — the fewer headaches you have the better.
ONE OF THE OTHER MT HUA DISCIPLES
PBSS!CHUNG MYUNG would find it funny. this is probably someone he's grown up with since childhood so no matter what, he just can't see that person in a romantic light. for the shits and giggles though, he would remember this and proceed to tease that person for years and years until they are sick of this guy.
MHDD!CHUNG MYUNG would be appalled. what do you mean you liked him? before he rejects them he might ask if that person has brain damage from the training he's put them through. when he sees that there really isn't anything wrong with them, he would turn them down, it's not harsh but it is direct and blunt.
MHDD!CHUNG MYUNG can't see that person as anything other than one of his kids, if only they knew he wasn't as young as he looked. he can't really fault them for feeling this way, he knows he is easy on the eyes in his second life and at their age, it was common to have crushes or fall for a good-looking face easily.
ONE OF HIS ALLIES
CHUNG MYUNG would give it a few seconds to pretend he was considering his options before he rejected the person. human emotions were so fickle, that he couldn't be certain his ally today wouldn't stab him in the back tomorrow — all because of a broken heart. though, if that person handled his rejection with grace, he would view them a little more favorability than before. even if he was doing his best to avoid crossing paths with that person.
ONE OF HIS ENEMIES
CHUNG MYUNG has to be held back from pouncing ahead and trying to rip off the other person's face. what the hell? wipe that look off your face! he would let loose a string of curses, he wouldn't hide his utter disgust with the person. he thinks that this is most certainly some sick, sick, joke getting played on him at that moment. and he swears up and down that he just saw a smug look so let go of him and let him clean up that person's attitude!
CHUNG MYUNG is not a kind man to his enemies, so the moment he gets a chance to get rid of them — best bet that that's his first order of business.
═══════════════
end thoughts: personally, i think that chung myung might lean deep into the aroace spectrum and i do think he is the type to love his friends and family so deeply that there just isn't room for anything else. on that note, i believe he loves tang bo — just not in the romantic or sexual way that allo relationships are... i don't know how to explain it tbh but i just know? i mean it takes one aroace bitch (me) to recognise another like we're pokemon in the wild.

So seeing all these swap aus is giving my ass ideas for my own.
Chaotic ones at that. Like instead of swapping Everyone let's swap a few of them.
The Vs:
Alastor is Valentino because of the strawberry pimp au. He's still aroace but he sees how lucrative sex work is. Still a cannibal and keeps his best toy in check with threats of becoming his next meal.
Nifty is Velvette because Radiohusk being her chaotic older brothers will never not be funny. Plus, Nifty being sassy and tech savvy kinda tracts.
Husk is Vox because the interaction between him and Angel would be hilarious. Plus, enemies to friends to lovers Huskerdust
The Hotel Staff:
Sir Pentious takes on Angel Dust's role. He is contracted to Alastor and receives a shitton of mental abuse and fears Alastor. He's at the Princess's hotel for free room and board and nothing else.
Angel Dust is the Radio Demon or The Black Widow in this AU. He has the same terrifying reputation as Alastor but factor in the fact that he doesn't look like it to that terror. He acts the same in canon just with a little 1920s mafia flair.
Vox and Valentino taking on Nifty's role as a duo was a little thought gremlin I had. Like, they probably started dating before both made a contract with Angel Dust and have been stuck in the spider's web for decades. They're both still assholes and the most cumbersome of the souls Angel possesses. He doesn't get rid of them because of the power they provide him.
Cherri being Husk was a no-brainer. Cherri/Sir Pentious loser baby, she'd behave like husk and call Angel out on his BS and talk to him the same way husk talks to Alastor in canon and the idea that she bet her soul to her best friend during a game of poker while they were both drunk has been in my brain since the show aired.
A Lot remains the same as in canon but with a little more chaos. Like Angel and Rosie being friends and spilling tea. Angel and Husk's hate boners for each other. Lucifer and Angel beefing over who is the best Dad (spoiler its not Angel).
I might do a part 2 because I have so many design ideas and interactions that are festering in my brain cavity.

i always considered saiki aro, but you make me really rethink with kubosai. .
THATS SO LOVELY, i know you didnt ask but.. im going to take this opportunity to talk a little about my stance on kubosai and saiki's sexuality.. i mean i have talked about it multiple times but still, lots of people dont see what i see in these things sooo im gonna keep talking about it lol..
(under the cut cuz i made this WAYYY longer than i meant to, sorryyyy..)
i still see saiki as aroace personally !! just not romance repulsed aroace, rather just on the aroace spectrum.. i think hes the type of person to use 'queer' and 'aroace' as umbrella terms for himself instead of caring about specific labels, but if i had to, i would say he fits best with demi based on my interpretation.. (i usually see him as with no preference, but based on the text its easy to see him as having a preference for men too..)
i do get why people would see him as romance repulsed and its a lovely hc, but saiki is pretty much mlm coded, at least in the way i interpreted it.. i mean, he almost straight up says he has a crush on satou in the manga.. its great if people interpret it as a 'squish,' but i personally dont see that,, he kinda blatantly threw them in a romance chart together, blushes every time he sees him, etc. HOWEVER aroace people who relate in some way and project their experiences onto saiki will ALWAYS be valid, so i dont care !! i literally do that lmfao im an aroace lesbian,,
anyway, saiki has a lot of silly tsundere moments that lots of people who dont really look at the show past surface level (and usually dont read the manga) see as him literally hating his friends, family, romance, etc when its very much shown how hes being a tsundere and he LOVES his friends, family, AND romance.. (canonically loves romance not as in he definitely experiences romantic attraction, but as in he just is weirdly into love stories and such but wont admit it lmao, i talk about that chapter where he gets obsessed with those strangers love story he saw with psychometry but its just so good lol..) so i think that misinterpretation is where a lot of the discourse in this fandom comes from, like people who think he GENUINELY hates teruhashi ? they r literally best friends he cares about her so much..
kubosai is a ship i started loving, not really from seeing their canon interactions, but from analyzing the characters in the manga and seeing who i think would actually fit together and have a good dynamic..
im very weak for characters who are ashamed of their dark past, afraid of their own strength and that they might hurt the people they love, scared to tell their loved ones their secrets, etc.. and kuboyasu and saiki fit the bill perfectly, so i looked at them and immediately thought BOOM what if they were in love..
their dynamic is fun, even though we didnt get a lot of canon interactions.. theyre so similar yet SO different at the same time..
they both have pretty tragic pasts and family lives, both VERY protective of their friends and family and would do anything for them, both have bad coping mechanisms (mostly refusing to acknowledge that anything is really wrong at all), etc.. and yet, theyre almost opposites in the way they actually carry themselves..
saiki appears apathetic at all times in front of others even though his internal monologue or how he expresses himself when hes alone can be really emotional.. kuboyasu is pretty happy all the time even though he has pretty thinly veiled anger about half the time..
kuboyasu is just a human boy who was taught to take up as much space as possible for his survival, defend himself with his fists, honesty and loyalty and trust are essential, etc, while saiki is an almost-god whose upbringing taught him to try his best to take up NO space at all for his survival, dont get involved unless its from afar, dont get close with anyone, dont trust anyone, etc..
saiki prefers to protect his people from in the shadows, going as far as to literally stalk them to make sure theyre okay without their knowledge, while kuboyasu is unafraid to show how much he cares and prefers to literally come out swinging to protect his people.. put them together and you get two silly guys who will literally protect the other with their life despite knowing damn well that theyre both fully capable of protecting themselves..
kuboyasu is also like.. one of the only people in the cast other than saiki who can be like.. a voice of reason sometimes.. he would be so good for saiki and would make damn sure he knows when hes being irrational or dramatic (because cmon, its saiki.. hes such a drama queen all the damn time..) and i just think he needs that in his life..
yasu would reign saiki in when it comes to his everyday dramatics, and in turn saiki would reign yasu in when it comes to his over the top romance standards (and probably his anger issues and overreactions too..) and yet at the same time they would take comfort in each others silliness.. saiki may be like "we cant just drop out and get married, thats not how it works" but isnt it so refreshing for him to have someone that cares about him so unconditionally ?? unlike his own family ?? itd scare him at first, but hed make yasu tone it down to a healthier extent and itd become soo comfortable..

I don't want to @ the involved parties or get into a Big Discourse about this, but...anyone who says Lisa being turned off relationships by her powers was something Wildbow made up at the end of Worm so people would stop shipping Smugbug is a fucking liar.
“Sure.  Maybe not totally my type, but I definitely wouldn’t turn someone like him away, if I was doing the relationship thing.” “You’re not?  How come?” “My power kind of takes the mystery out of things.  Relationships are hard to get off the ground unless you can get the ball rolling with a healthy dose of self delusion and lies.”
—Tangle 6.2
This is before the timeskip, before Coil's betrayal, before Taylor even meets Coil. This isn't the very beginning of the story, but it's dang close. It's maybe one-eighth through Worm's wordcount (~200k out of >1.6 mil).
And while I can't prove that Wildbow didn't write it in because he wanted to discourage Smugbug, A. there would be simpler ways to do that (like making Lisa and Taylor straight, which would be almost effortless since most characters are assumed to be until proved otherwise) and B. none of you chucklefucks can prove Wildbow did. You're making shit up and hoping your audience either already believes Wildbow hates lesbians or that they ship Smugbug so hard that they don't question anything that supports it.
And while it's true that Lisa's aroace-ness doesn't get upgraded from "power side effect" to "personal identity" until Ward, but that does not matter. There are two ways of looking at this: The canon-characterization angle and the ace-erasure angle.
Lisa's canon characterization is that she doesn't have any interest in sex or dating. (She says she MIGHT change her mind in a few years, but I thought the same thing when I was 16, and also very few smugbug fics/art are set a few years after Lisa says that.)
As for ace erasure...Lisa isn't "canonically aroace" before Ward, but calling her aroace-coded feels too weak. She literally says she does not want to have a romantic or sexual relationship with anyone. She's aroace in all but name.
In conclusion: I can't stop you from shipping Lisa. But I can call out when you're being shitty about it. At least fucking admit that you're going against Lisa's canonical characterization instead of trying to well-actually her sexuality.

This is really interesting, I have a lot of things to this.
First things first, I want to say that I have no hate towards @jesteri0tt , the things he's feeling are valid, that person is, in fact, incorrect, but it's still interesting that this can tell us a lot about fandom etiquette and culture as a whole, so I'm gonna defend that person for a bit.
First off, "argue that Seam is canonically aroace, which is straight up not true", poor wording, saying that something is "straight up not true" implies that you know by a fact that that is incorrect, which means that there is proof in Deltarune that Seam is not an aromantic asexual, which is not true, there is pretty much nothing in Deltarune about this old cat, it doesn't mean that Seam is thereby aro-ace, in the seapkeeper's words: there's nothing proving that Seam is aro-ace, but there is nothing disproving that Seam is aro-ace either.
I think that Mr Jex wanted to say that that person shouldn't say that Seam's canonically aro-ace because there is nothing in the canon saying that, saying that at the beginning of the person's theory makes it sound like that person had the grounds of their theory in false statements, I know that you were emotional, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't think over your words and unintentionally mislead your audience.
Another thing I have to say is: is it wrong to use stereotypes?
Now, don't get me wrong, by the sounds of it, that person said that Seam is apathetic, thus making them aro-ace, we all know that that is wrong and we all know that that is hateful towards real-life aromantic and asexual people, I just want to talk about general terms while I have the chance to talk about stereotypes in fandoms.
People often use stereotypes when headcanoning characters, for example: a lot of fans think that Jevil has ADHD because the one time we saw him, he was energetic, as if only people with ADHD can be hyper and jump about.
Stereotypes aren't always bad, that is literally how our brains work, we take the knowledge we have for one thing and subconsciously apply it to a similar thing, it's just the contents inside that stereotype that can make it bad, not just the existence of a stereotype.
The problem is that stereotypes can sometimes be true ones even if they might be seen as bad to others.
Sometimes people in certain minorities can relate to stereotypes and they put them in characters that they like, but if they were there originally, people would get really mad.
For example: some people headcanon Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony to be black, with the only proof being that she has curly hair, if the creators said that they intentionally made Pinkie Pie black and that's why they made her hair curly, people would get ready mad because being black does not just mean having curly hair, or that other races also can have curly hair.
Seems like it's okay to use a stereotype that might be seen as offensive to some people if you're in the group of people that the stereotype is about, it's more culturally correct to say potentially offensive stuff about a certain group if you're inside that said group.
A good example for me to use is this image right here:
Tumblr media
If a TV show depicts something like this, everyone would be offended, but because it's a post that sounds like it's being spoken by the gays, it's just harmless fun.
What if the person who wrote that Seam headcanon was aro-ace?
What if they're projecting from their own experience?
Would that make it okay?
What if they're like me? I have grown up as a social outcast, and so I've developed this "me vs the world" mentality, so I feel very little sympathy towards others, and I don't expect others to have sympathy for me.
What if they're just like that, but they don't know where that feeling of alienation comes from, but they see the unfeeling aro-ace archetype and they relate to the character, and with their only source of reference of what aro-ace looks like is a harmful stereotype, so they connect the smudges that kinda look like dots, and take away with Seam being aromantic asexual.
I know that all that was a reach, it's probably not that specific scenario, but I still think that there is some sort of misunderstanding going on, but it seems that that isn't the real problem...
In the Instagram story that I showed in the beginning, Jex has another point that disproves that person's theory, and he seemed very angry about that, he even put it in all caps; the person misgendered Seam.
Edit: okay, so, after I had posted this, a helpful person left a comment saying that they read the original post that this is talking about, and the person has said in their post that they know that they're misgendering Seam, and yet they still kept going.
If that's true, then that person is very disrespectful and rude, I regret giving them the amount of respect that I did, they don't deserve it.
I will remove the part about the pronouns because there, I tried to argue that they're unaware of what Seam's pronouns are, but now I have the knowledge that that is not true, so there's no point in keeping the argument.
I'm not gonna change any of my other points, so I want you to know that they were written before I knew that the person is a dick, on the rest of my points, I was working with that screenshot being my only source of reference, that evidence would change pretty much all my arguments, and I don't want to rewrite this whole post, I hope that you can understand me on this.
The shortened version of the argument that I removed is that Seam was never referred to by any pronouns in the game Deltarune, so if a person just played the game and has not read any posts from the fandom, they wouldn't know that Seam is nonbinary, and even if they did read some posts, they might not see many posts about Seam because Seam is not a very talked-about character, so someone could be a Deltarune fan for a long time and still not know that Seam goes by they/them.
Okay, back to the stuff that I wrote earlier.
In the Instagram story, Jex mentioned a lot that the person said that Seam is "canonically aro-ace", so I can only assume that that person used those exact words.
If that's true, then either that person is really self-righteous and thinks that their word is the law and every theory that they make is definitely canon (edit: lol), or they might be confused and not know the difference between a headcanon, a theory and an analysis, and saw people using those terms without knowing what they actually mean.
I'm going with the latter, not just because I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but also because it fits really well with the other analyst I made that they don't know much about the fandom, they might not be very familiar with fandoms as a whole, either because they have not been interested in fandoms until now or they're on the younger side, I don't know.
I know that that was a lot of things to say about second-hand knowledge in a single screenshot, but I really found this interesting and I wanted to share my opinion on this.
Before I go, I just want to apologize if my writing was hard to understand at some points, it's hard for me to string my thoughts together logically sometimes, also, if some of the things that I have said are incorrect, please correct me, I'm not infallible, I will admit when I'm wrong.
Oh, and Jex, that person did in fact make an awful post but don't think hateful thoughts about them, all the negative thoughts inside you can grow, making it easier for you to attract more negative emotions, and if that keeps building up inside you, you can fave a long and subtle spiral into misery.
If you see something that you don't like, just ignore it, don't let the negativity stay, don't let it build a home inside your head.
Anyway, that's all.
G'bye.

Women in Whumpable Work
So, relevant to the topic of this whump post, I imagine there might be a few readers whose experience of women in security professions comes entirely from media. If that's the case, you might suppose that this is an entirely male occupation. There are a few reasons for this representation here in 2024, and I am going to tell you what I think they are. I'm not an academic, my degrees are from 2004 and in Biology and Chemistry and I work in an art/tech profession; this is just an opinion from a blogger in a small fic genre.
So with that disclaimer, I think an important, and probably the main reason, is that security guards in media are usually there to demonstrate the seriousness of a threat by getting hurt. Sometimes we don't even see them alive, just as bloody shreds or as decorations for a monster lair. In the case of my whump writing, they're there to get knocked out and dragged behind a pillar by a thief dressed like a ninja.
Sometimes that's a patronizing and antiquated "women can't be guards" thing, but I don't think it's just that. For one thing, my own dear sibling was working as a night guard when she was in college 20 years ago. Women in security are perhaps more likely to be sturdy butches than femmes, and movies mostly hate butches if they recognize that they exist, but even boomers should by this point have encountered women as cops, construction, security, and other hazardous professions.
I think part of it is that the way to increasing gender parity, there seems to be a stage where women can't be shown to be hurt or fail because they've always been shown ONLY failing. ONLY as victims. Women therefore have to be badass girlbosses who can barely be stalled by an obstacle before their glorious victory (and queer people have to be virtuous martyrs to compensate for old portrayals as gross perverts, but that's another topic). Maybe eventually we can get to an Amanda Waller or an entire female cast of Dungeon Meshi, but those aren't the majority examples in American pop culture right now. That's still at the Marvels in a lot of cases, where rep has to be good and powerful to be valid and female villains tend to also be of a very specific type who has snapped from trauma (also a topic for another day).
So, obviously that concept doesn't go well with the entire genre of whump, where we demonstrate that we like characters by hurting them, either as an end in itself or so that they can be cared for. I get that. I'm very uncomfortable seeing female whumpees in certain subgenres, especially the ones that hew closest to real life. But the thing is, I'm also a woman, kind of. At least, that's where I started from, and I'll probably never be out as fluid or agender to anyone irl but one sibling. And I want to see rep of all kinds for all genders, not just the women as badass winners or the men as victims and everyone else as simply absent. That means that sometimes I'm also going to write women as soldiers getting shot and peasants getting attacked by vampires and security guards getting tranked. I'm going to write enbies as villains, as chronically ill, as afab or amab. I don't see this as a problem. I see it as wanting to write more characters.
Obviously I'm not telling anyone to not write men if they like men and this is their fetish. I'm aroace irl, and I feel only a mild preference toward any given gender visually, so I don't exactly have a genetically engineered laboratory mutant in that fight. I'm just saying, consider why you pick your whumpees and how while you decide what's fun for you.

Do you have any headcanons about a modern day Charlotte Lucas?
She's a very rational and intelligent woman (also probably ace / aroace though I might be biased) so to me she seems like she'd work in a leading position in either business or science, keeping the Mr. Colinses on the board in check and making sure her employees are treated well.
But apart from that it's really hard to come up with stuff because 1) we see so little of her and 2) you can't just plop a 19th century woman in a 21st century environment like that wouldn't fundamentally change her personality and behaviour. We're a product of our environment after all.
This is a good question, and the fact is, I'm not sure about Charlotte Lucas. While I agree that she is rational and intelligent, I don't know if she's actually a good person or someone you want in charge.
We see very little of Charlotte so it is hard to judge, but a lot of her motivation seems to be mercenary. She tells Lizzy not to snub Darcy in favour of Wickham given Darcy's consequence. It is good advice, but it's not actually moral advice, she's telling Lizzy to make more prudent connections. She cannot tell if either Darcy or Colonel Fitzwilliam means to propose, but she hopes that Lizzy will marry Darcy because he has more influence in the church so that she can take advantage of that connection.
Now the reason people like Charlotte and hate the similarly motivated Caroline is that Charlotte doesn't step on other people to achieve her goals. She waits until Elizabeth has said no to Mr. Collins to pounce, she doesn't insult others behind their backs (as far as we know, except maybe for Lydia but those observations were more than fair), and while she does help her husband toady to Lady Catherine, that harms no one. But not displaying bad actions doesn't mean you are good, and her motivations are fundamentally greedy. We don't even know if she is actually a good clergyman's wife, we never see her engage in charity.
It does seem that Charlotte is the kind of person who enables a bad leader for her own benefit. Mr. Collins is not a good clergyman and she's trying to help him get more livings And she also seems content to emotionally manipulate Mr. Collins for the rest of his life, which is a bit chilling (I think he does believe that Charlotte loves him).
But you are right, while many aspects of Austen's characters ring so true to people we know today, Charlotte is defined by having very few options. Modern Charlotte can totally get a job and move away from her annoying parents. It's hard to say exactly what she would become in a world with far more opportunity for women where she is not forced to be ambitious through a man.

I think I'm aroallo?
CW: sex mentions, talk about aroallo stereotypes
I think I'm aroallo. I've been identifying as aroace for a while now, but I keep saying to my girlfriend, "I feel like I might not be asexual after all." I've been saying that again and again for months. Her response is always, "You're probably not."
I don't question my aromanticism at all. It's one aspect of my identity that I'm very sure about. But my asexuality, on the other hand... I don't think that I'm really ace. I feel like I've been clinging to the asexual label because of the assumptions people make about aroallos. Being aroace is one thing, but being aroallo is a lot harder for me to accept.
Tumblr media
People tend to assume that aroallos are always hypersexual, or always loveless, or always prioritize sex above all else when it comes to their relationships with people. And all of those things are valid experiences, but they don't apply to me personally.
I've been trying to put it into words... People think that a lack of romantic attraction necessitates an amplified sexual attraction. Like just because I'm aro, I must be "more sexual" than other allosexual people. It seems like people think sexuality has to be "balanced out" with romance. But I'm not particularly sexual; I'm just not ace.
Tangentially related, this idea that "no romantic attraction = amplified sexual attraction" also seemed really prevalent in SAM discourse a while back. One of the big arguments people used against romantic orientation labels was that they were "oversexualizing" sexuality labels or "reducing everything to sex" by separating the romantic aspect from the sexual aspect.
I'm talking about the people who would say shit like, "Why would you call yourself biromantic instead of bisexual? Are you implying that bisexual people only care about sex?" when they saw a biromantic ace. That sort of "logic."
And the implication with that argument is, if the tables were turned (i.e. they were bisexual and aromantic), it would be appalling to them. And it was especially paired with the assumption that sex - romance = oversexualized, in whatever way "oversexualized" may be defined. Lots of sex negativity mixed in with the discourse.
Tumblr media
On another note, I've voiced my disdain for the Attraction Layer Cake elsewhere before. There are a lot of problems with it, but I'm going to focus on the "Crimson" part specifically: the crimson layer is the only option if you're aromantic without being asexual. That and "Red" I suppose, but the red layer could describe any allosexual orientation, whether aromantic or not.
Crimson is labeled as aromantic sexuality, which is a problem in and of itself. It should say aromantic allosexuality. But that's not the part I take the most issue with. I hate the description.
"The purpose of relationships is primarily sexuality. Romance is not specifically desired."
Again, there's nothing wrong with prioritizing or emphasizing sexuality. But that's not an inherent aspect of being aroallo, and it doesn't describe me personally. The primary purpose of my relationships is emotional connection. Sex is just a cool thing that I may or may not do with people.
Also, "relationships" is vague. Does it mean relationships in general, regardless of whether they're romantic, platonic, etc? In that case, that's a huge generalization of the many types of relationships aroallos may have.
Or does it specifically refer to romantic relationships? In that case, that's also a huge generalization, because it assumes aroallos will have romantic partners, and it implies that it's only okay to have sex with people if you're also romantically involved.
Tumblr media
Aromantic people also have to deal with a lot of explicitly negative stereotypes. Manipulative, abusive, cruel. I feel like these assumptions get amplified when you're aroallo specifically. A lot of people think that explicitly wanting sex, without explicitly wanting romance, automatically makes you a horrible person. I'm too exhausted to even delve into these stereotypes.
All I'll say is, there's nothing wrong with wanting sex, and there's nothing wrong with having no desire for romance. Sexual attraction doesn't need to be "justified" via romantic attraction, and sex doesn't need to be "justified" via romance. As long as everyone is consenting and upfront with their intentions, whose business is it anyways?
Tumblr media
I'm not 100% sure if I'm allosexual. But after months of saying, "I don't think I'm asexual after all," I think it's safe to say that I'm not aroace. Maybe I'm greysexual at most, but eh. Whether I'm allosexual or ace-spec, there's one thing I'm certain of: I'm more aro than I am ace, if I'm even ace-spec at all.
I'm sitting here sort of feeling... Out of place. Like, everywhere. I'm a romance-indifferent aroallo, who isn't heavily sexual, but still enjoys sex. It's sort of isolating, I guess. It would be reassuring to see more people with similar experiences.
Slightly unrelated, but my primary special interest is Littlest Pet Shop, and I love putting these little guys on pride flags. So, here's the aroallo flag with a bunny on it. Makes me happy despite all the confusion and conflicted feelings

20 questions for fic writers!
tysm for tagging me @bazzybelle, it took me a while to get around to this but it was a lot of fun!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
37!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
113,598, not bad.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
mostly the Simon Snow Trilogy, but I have a couple of Greek Mythology/Epic Cycle fanfics too. i used to write for Percy Jackson and Marve, but not anymore.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
two old Marvel fics are right at the top, then it’s:
i want the love on your wrist (oh give me the heart on your neck), the first explicit work i’ve ever written, maybe a sign i should write more.
The Tale of the Two Merwolves, which I wrote with a bunch of other lovely people in the fandom
Everything I Am Not, my COTTA fic from 2020
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
yes, I always try to!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
definitely crimson, my COTTA fic from 2022, but a close second is Visions, a little Trojan War Helenus fic i still really like.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
well a lot of my fics have fairly happy endings, but I’d say All That She Wants, an Agatha-centric fic, and Happier Memories, a proposal fic, have the most hopeful endings.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
no, I don’t think I ever have, luckily!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
only twice so far, though I have another stewing in my brain that might get written. I can’t really say i'm limited to a certain “type” though, i’m pretty versatile, pun intended.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
no, they’re not really my thing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not to my knowledge! i hope not.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
back when i used to write on wattpad i got some DMs asking to translate my fics and i always agreed, but i don’t know if they ever followed through.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes, i really love doing so! I wrote a stucky fic with one of my friends years ago, but we never ended up posting it anywhere. also, the two aforementioned marvel fics were co-written with another (now ex) friend, and the tale of two merwolves was written as part of a group.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
snowbaz, definitely. it’s been my longest-running OTP (do people still say OTP?) and i’ve written so any fics for it.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
hmm, i’ve only got 3 wips and i think i’ll finish them all eventually, but blow on the tinder and we are slaves to the gods are definitely on the back burner for now.
16. What are your writing strengths?
i’ve been told i’m good at writing dialogue, which is good because that’s two thirds of all the words i write.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
descriptions and anything sappy, which gives me second hand embarrassment.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i tend to shy away from it, but if i do i always put it in italics and will put a translation in the notes unless it’s super obvious, and like when other authors do the same.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Percy Jackson! I wrote so much solangelo and was actually pretty popular on wattpad, one of my fics broke a million hits which is still insane to me. i still get the occasional message asking me to come back and finish my fics, but i logged out of that account in 2018 and am not going back.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
oh, that’s hard. i’m really enjoying writing Shoulder To Shoulder right now, but i still love All That She Wants and Liar Liar. i also really love I’m On My Way To Believing, which is a greek mythology Pyrrhus/Hermione fic. they’re my blorbos. but i’d have to say my all-time favourite will always have to be the first carry on fic i ever wrote, which got me out of a years long writing slump: Rats.
i don't know who has already done this, so i'll just tag @ileadacharmedlife @prettygoododds @aroace-genderfluid-sheep @imagineacoolusername @ic3-que3n @forabeatofadrum @aristocratic-otter @larkral @hushed-chorus @you-remind-me-of-the-babe @youarenevertooold @artsyunderstudy @alexalexinii @shrekgogurt and @j-nipper-95

Random aspec fictional character HCs
Matthew Cuthbert (Anne With an E)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Lived his whole life unmarried like his sister but, unlike Marilla, never had any relationships in the past. Doesn't reciprocate Jeannie's feelings and tells her his love for his adopted daughter (Anne) is the only love he has room for. Was TERRIFIED when Anne tried to set him up with Jeannie.
*(this is specific to AWAE but I think it can apply to book Matthew as well)
Selah Summers (Selah and the Spades)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Tbh this one might be canon (or at least heavily implied). Never has been in a relationship. Admits to Paloma that she's just never been interested in anyone in a romantic or sexual way.
Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Just doesn't seem remotely interested in romance or sex. Gets grossed out/ annoyed when people kiss in front of him.
*(this is specific to the anime, idk about the manga or live action adaptation)
**(I am not caught up on the anime, this may turn out to be incorrect)
Willie Jack Sampson (Reservation Dogs)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Never had a love interest or showed attraction in the show (to the best of my knowledge. If she did, I missed it). Also, THIS OUTFIT SPECIFICALLY. Her hoodie is aroace colors and her socks look like a mix of the asexual flag and the aromantic flag.
Lucy Wells (Harlots)
Grey asexual/ greysexual (+possibly aromantic? Maybe demiromantic? I haven't decided yet)
Tumblr media
Born into prostitution but HATES sex. Avoids it as much as she can and by the last season finds a way to do her job without having to have sex. The reason I said grey ace is because she DOES seem sexually attracted to Fallon after some time of being with him (I think? I was a little confused about how she felt tbh).
Birdy (Birdy)
Asexual + demiromantic
Tumblr media
Everyone in his life thinks it's weird that he's so interested in birds and not girls. Admits to Al he doesn't see the appeal of sex at all. Very reluctant to go to prom with Doris and had no idea what to do when she parked the car and offered him sex. I can see him developing romantic feelings after close friendship (like with Al) which is why I think he's demiromantic.
Bilbo AND Frodo Baggins (The Hobbit/ The Lord of the Rings)
Both asexual (+ maybe demiromantic, though I can also see Bilbo as aro)
Tumblr media
Both remained bachelors all their lives. Bilbo lived alone and later with Frodo who was like an adopted son. Frodo lives for a long time with Sam and Sam's wife Rosie. I personally think that Sam and Frodo are in a romantic relationship, while Sam and Rosie are in a sexual relationship. Frodo seems content with this arrangement which is why I believe he's ace.
Ted Buckland (Scrubs)
Asexual
Tumblr media
Simply because of the part where Carla says "I don't want any MAN filming me giving birth unless he's completely asexual" and then Ted walks in with a camera and Carla smiles and says "oh hi Ted!". (I think this was a poorly-aged joke about him being "ugly" more than anything but I'm still claiming it). Also when he sings the duet with Gooch and Gooch says "I want to screw you" while Ted says "I want to kiss you.
Fabian Rutter (House of Anubis)
Asexual
Tumblr media
He's nerdy and into space (I know this is a stereotype but representation is scarce I take anything I can get... you get it right). Also his relationship with Nina is very innocent and I can't see him developing sexual attraction even when he becomes an adult.
Dirk Gently and Bart Curlish (Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency)
Dirk- Asexual
Bart- Aromantic
Tumblr media
Neither of them have love interests in the show (although Bart/Ken may have been implied) so this is just how I felt about the characters personally. I think Dirk definitely had a crush on Todd and is gay but I don't think he gets sexual attraction. Bart is the opposite. I can see her developing sexual attractions and feelings but being repulsed by kissing/ dating etc.
*(this is specific to DGHDA, idk about any other versions of these characters)
Anybody feel free to add thoughts and your personal aspec character hcs <3
