If I had not known the term cupioromantic I would never have accepted that I am aromantic.

I refused to accept my orientation, because I really wanted to have a relationship, because I really wanted to fall in love.

If it weren't for the fact that I continued researching and found out how broad the aromatic spectrum is, I would still feel like an outsider. I would still feel alone.

just to be clear, i dont hate being called aroace or treated like im aroace because being aroace is bad. i hate it cuz its constantly forced upon me by people in and out of the community. i feel like thats fair.

sorry i just saw a post that had good points but someone said something along the lines of “some aroallos and alloaces really act like its an horrible thing to be aroace” and like no. its an horrible thing to be called and expected to be aroace over and over again when youre not. and at some point, some people will stop correcting you nicely and will start being less polite cuz its fucking annoying.

im just tired of being expected to put up with shit constantly from people who should be on our side and then be treated as the problem when i stand up for myself.

I know it's kinda selfish, but can I have more asexual charactes that aren't aromantic? One who stands up and says that you can love without sex, and that they deserve love without having to engaging in something they prefer not to?

Also a aromantic character that isn't asexual? One who doesn't feel guilt about needing and wanting people, but not seeking a romantic relationship with them? One that is open and proud, and in no way ashamed for their lack of love and need of sex?

Edit: I realize some aroace people got frustrated at this post due to having next to no representation already, and I admit it was blind of me to phrase it how I did.

I was (unfairly) annoyed when I made this post because I kept seeing people write ace characters I really like to be aro as well. (Which is more then fine to do btw!)
