the dead poets as song lyrics pt.2-
neil: and everyone was confused, didn’t know why i was blue, couldn’t show them my wounds // had to bluff after the game, knowing it wasn’t the same, i put a smile on my face // ‘cause i looked like i owned the ocean, after 20 years of staring at the sea // and all i could think about was the sand at the bottom, and how i wish that it could bury me //
todd: i have these dreams where i’m me again // and they almost feel like they’re real // it’s as if i have self esteem again // it’s as if i’m starting to heal // the chills and sweats grab ahold of me // and they pull me out of my dream // they just won’t seem to let go of me //
charlie: i wish that it was always said and done before // i don’t know when chaos became my core // for if i give another lie i swear // it’s only because i know that nothing is there //
cameron: get a load of this monster // he doesn’t know how to communicate // his mind is in a different place // can everybody please give him a little bit of space? // get a load of this trainwreck // his minds a mess and he doesn’t know who he is yet //
pitts: the truth is i am a toy that people enjoy // ‘til all the tricks don’t work anymore // and then they are bored of me // i know that it’s exciting, running through the night // but every perfect summer’s eating me alive //
meeks: what you say tells me nothing, what’s the truth? // give me something, take me down a road i believe in // lost the way, lost all reason // give me something, search the past for redemption // broken glass, no reflection // take me to a place i believe in //
knox: i’ve been falling much more deep than i wanna // i’ve been wishing i could breathe underwater // i hold my breath, i can’t see what comes next // i don’t know when i’ll see dry land again // another 40 days i’m lost at sea // i’m just gonna swim until you love me // hoping that your heart will rescue me // i’m just gonna swim until you love me //

Recently I realized how much the song Pacific by Chase Petra fits Furina and Focalors' stories, so I figured I'd do a little (ha.. after finishing, maybe not little) lyric analysis. I'll go through the first verse and chorus from the eyes of Focalors and then move onto Furina as I think it fits better that way
"I hate gambling but I was handed a full house" This could represent how Focalors wanted nothing more than to be human, yet she was still granted divinity instead, which in most cases would be seen as a blessing, that is of course unless you see being human as far greater than any godly abilities.
"The swords on the cards sliced open my palms and all I could do was bleed on the money I’d won" This of course reiterates just how much her granted divinity was anything but a blessing. Not only did she not want godhood, but the threat of the prophecy coming as a package deal with her new responsibility wouldn't have been the easiest thing to handle. Having it all suddenly thrust upon you when your current beloved leader suddenly perishes.
"And everyone was confused, didn’t know why I was blue, couldn’t show them my wounds" Now obviously this one works more with Furina, but I believe I can make a case for connecting it with Focalors as well. As we're going to get into with the next couple of lyrics, Focalors' plan is to deceive everyone in order to deceive the heavenly principles, and though her mind's fortification may be stronger than that of Furina's because of her divinity, that doesn't mean she didn't have her own feelings about their predicament, especially at the beginning I'd wager. Anyone she had contact with prior to being given the seat of the Hydro archon she would have to leave behind, and as she says herself, she does fear her death, if only a little.
"Had to bluff after the game, knowing it wasn’t the same, I put a smile on my face" I could talk about the ways to interpret this line for paragraphs, but I'll spare you for now. What I've landed on, to keep it as simple as I can, are some pieces that are fairly obvious and some that are a little more between the lines. Obviously, the bluffing here would refer to her plan to feign the prophecy coming to pass. For the next bit, however, she knew Furina wasn't the same as her, but no one else would, and she put a smile on Furina's face, which for all intents and purposes is her face. In other words, she would be the only one aside from Furina herself to know that the prophecy as Celestia sees it happening isn't the same as what will actually happen, and she was directly responsible for Furina having to feign happiness for 500 years.
"Cause I looked like I owned the ocean after twenty years of staring at the sea" These lines are far more interesting from Furina's perspective, but for now, I think this part pertains quite well to Focalors recounting how she sat on the seabed until barnacles grew on her. It may well have been 20 years she spent thinking about how to handle and defy the prophecy.
"And all I could think about was the sand at the bottom and how I wished that it would bury me" Perhaps these are her feelings after she realizes her one chance to save her people is to sacrifice herself, to spend centuries in waiting just to gain enough power to destroy herself and her heavenly throne.
"And how the speed of light is far too fast to barrel into a tidal wave" Instead of focusing on the speed of light, I think this line suits more to highlight that the passage of time must have felt a lot quicker for her as a god than it did for Furina. And considering her, albeit small, fear of death, it must have felt far too fast as time barreled towards her impending sacrifice.
"Last night I cried enough to make the Pacific blush" It's not hard to imagine that before she separated the part of her that became Furina from herself she had more of Furina's sensitivity, and that perhaps with the crushing realization of her situation, she had cried quite a bit. It would be no surprise if the Hydro archon's tears were powerful as well, considering how the Hydro dragon's are.
"Now hear me say" I mark this line as the transition from Focalors to Furina, and it could be used for all sorts of moments with her. Luckily for us this line is used multiple times so I shall be using different moments for each one. This one particularly with its contrast to an upcoming line in its intensity in the singer's voice, I think it works quite well with how Furina first attempted her accession speech, polite and reserved. Asking to be heard, but not demanding it.
"I hate gambling but I was handed a full house" Now continuing from what I said above, obviously the more intensely sung part of this line would be her stepping into the intensity of the presence of a god. Onto the lyrics however, it's clear that this personality, no matter how effortlessly it looks, does not come naturally to her. Nevertheless she was handed this destiny, and like she says, it's hers alone to fulfill.
"Lost an ace in the deck don’t know how I’ll get around this" This line and how it focuses more on cards makes me think of Lyney, and the word "lost" fits well within this context as well. The first trial Furina takes up against the traveler she loses, which not only serves as wonderful foreshadowing for her final trial, but also begs the question, did she see it coming? It's quite possible she knew the traveler leaves change in their wake, she likely could see them being a cause of her act being threatened in the future, thus she would likely be questioning how she could possibly avoid that coming to pass.
"And everyone was confused, didn’t know why I was blue, couldn’t show them my wounds" This one doesn't need any stretches to be clear as day. Everyone was confused, most notably Neuvillette and Arlecchino as they had multiple meetings with Furina in an attempt to get any answers from her, yet still she let nothing slip. For her being blue, though it is contradictory to how she consistently presents herself as cheerful or at the very least confident, when Arlecchino threatens her life, she is able to see behind her mask for a moment. And this only serves to further confuse Arlecchino, why would a god be so meek, why would she be crying? As for being unable to show wounds, that is exactly the situation Furina is in. However, what really pulls me to this line is the almost regret in the singer's voice on the last word, this serves very well to highlight Furina's feelings after she, even if only in her inner world, denies confiding in the traveler. It's not exactly regret, but I think the mix of emotion in the singer's tone fits perfectly with where Furina's head was at.
"Had to bluff after the game, knowing it wasn’t the same, I put a smile on my face" I imagine this is when she takes over the trial, rallying the crowd in her favor despite knowing this isn't the same as the trials she is usually a spectator of. It is a trial against her, the "Hydro archon" after all, but despite this she still puts on a smile and stands her ground, confidently.
"Cause I looked like I owned the ocean, after twenty years of staring at the sea" She indeed looks like she owns the ocean, the seas, all of water itself, and she has spent the last 500 years maintaining this image.
"And all I could think about was the sand at the bottom, and how I wished that it would bury me" Through the entirety of her excruciatingly long life, she has been waiting for the end of it, the "magnificent and dramatic" trial that will save everyone. Though she doesn't know yet that this trial she is on is the trial she has been waiting for, I think it's safe to say that this line can represent her feelings about it. All she could think about was the end, and how she wants so desperately for it to come.
"And how the speed of light is far too fast to barrel into a tidal wave" Now this line could either be used in contrast to Focalors' version to show how agonizingly slow it has been for Furina to wait this long, or it could be used to represent how quickly her trial turns against her favor. Her weight with her people now meaning nearly nothing, even the Oratrice is not tilted towards her.
"Last night I cried enough to make the Pacific blush" This one speaks for itself, the countless nights she spent crying, so much so that she starts to not even realize when it slips through during the day, and the Fountain of Lucine carrying so much of her sadness that you can hear her sobbing in its flow if you listen close enough.
"Now hear me say" I think this line, though not holding as much desperation as she did, can fit the mark for her begging for her people to believe her. Even through her own tears, she needs them to believe her, they have to hear her. Anyone needs to hear her, and yet as the trial comes to an end not one person is even looking at her.
"I’m sorry" x8 Her apologies for the people who died due to her inability to take action as a true god would. When she goes to Poisson she is hit with a great amount of guilt, seeing the buildings greatly damaged and the place nearly completely evacuated, the emotion slowly building as each apology is said fits very well with how her emotions boil over, guilt, anger, helplessness, like she says "But what can I even do, other than to repeat meaningless apologies over and over?"
The repeated chorus after this serves well as a reiteration of the previous thoughts, but through an even more emotion heavy lens. The singing ramps up in emotional intensity, and specifically on the line "And how I wish that it would bury me", it sounds very raw. This jumps out to me as Furina telling herself to give up, that there's no point in holding out anymore. Despite how she holds strong, the desire to give up is still there, and this line represents it well.
"I’m sorry" x4 The resignation and sadness in these final apologies fits perfectly with Furina succumbing to the death sentence she thinks she has been given and the crushing realization that she has failed her people and that because of this everyone will die. She does not know this is part of Focalors' plan, she can't know in order for the plan to work, so she's playing her role, now without even knowing it, as the Hydro archon, weeping on her throne.

ME PERSONALLY,, I THINK CAITIBUGZZ SHOULD LISTEN TO "Pacific" by Chase petra!!
Its SUCH a good song I wont stfu about it
youtube
The lead singer, Hunter Allen, has said its about a Pyrrhic victory:
"The word comes from the name of Pyrrhus, a long-ago king of Epirus, who suffered heavy losses in defeating the Romans at Asculum in Apulia in 279 B.C.E." (merriam-webster dictionary)
It isnt about Pyrrhus' "pyrrhic victory," rather its about Hunter's own pyrrhic victory.
One of my favorite lyrics from it is:
"I looked like I owned the ocean, after 20 years of staring at the sea / and all I could think about was the sand at the bottom / and how I wish that it would bury me"

Oh, jeez. I'm getting V for some reason out of this. You might think he has this world but he doesn't. He has nothing. He pushes himself into the water and wonders if it'll be easier to drown because he's failed so many times that he can't see what's worth fighting... yet, he keeps on going because he won't let himself be destroyed until he figures out how to fix it.

V.
2889. Hell was erupting on the planet of Olympus-V in its final hours.
A fierce rainstorm barreled down on the alien worlds rocky cliff face. A dangerous surf crashed on the rocks, the sea threatening to scale the cliffs. The sky glowed crimson, illuminated by a Red Giant that was hours from its own collapse. The red light gave the rainstorm an eerie hue. It looked like it was raining blood.
The landscape was crowned by the fiery wreckage of an alien ship. It was the intended getaway vessel of a dangerous variant that managed to escape your team through a hijacked Time Door. Your team followed him boldly, not realizing it was never a getaway. It was a suicide mission. And you walked right into a kamikaze attack.
The variant was dead. Eight other Minutemen were dead. Your still-sorta-new analyst partner was dead. B-15 was badly wounded and unresponsive. You and C-20 were stumbling through the corridors of the ship, both sporting nasty head wounds, as you dragged-carried B-15 towards refuge.
Catastrophe was a mild description, never mind the looming apocalypse outside.
“Help!” another voice rang out from the distance. It was U-91. “Somebody help me!”
You turned towards the sound of the man’s voice, stopping in your tracks. You looked at C-20.
The ground beneath your feet was subtly moving, quaking the ship with every inch. The rocky soil beneath you was giving way under the weight of the wreckage. You and C-20 knew that soon the ship would be a fireball at the bottom of the cliff. But you couldn’t leave him behind.
“Go,” you ordered. “Get her outta here.”
You turned around and rushed back into the smoke and flames. C-20 watched you anxiously as you disappeared. She carried on her rescue mission, dragging B-15 towards a temporarily opened Time Door that would lead them safely back to TVA HQ. It would stay open, as long as the ship didn’t crumble down the cliff.
You were alone again, covering your mouth with your jacket sleeve, following the painful groans as they grew louder.
“I’m over here!” U-91 hollered, his voice echoing down a corridor that was bent nearly vertically. You spotted his position, flush against the ground, but you would have to scale walls of the hallway at a steep angle to reach him. “I’m stuck on something!” he shouted.
“Hang on!” you replied. You approached the base of the corridor with trepidation. Carefully and quickly, you began to climb up the hallway via the walls. You gripped door frames, pipes, handles - anything that you could use to scale the corridor.
“Where’s A-19,” the Minuteman shouted about his partner. “I can’t find A-19!” He sounded panicked, which was never good.
“Hang on, I’m almost there!”
“Did you find A-19?”
You didn’t immediately reply, seeing from your vantage point what he could not. U-91 was less than 10 feet from you, and was truly “stuck.”
His leg was impaled on a ripped pipe that had torn away from the wall in the crash. He was hanging there helplessly by his limb. You winced at the sight and scanned your eyes over the area. You locked on to another gruesome sight: the body of his partner of many years, A-19, crushed by a beam just feet away..
“I c-can’t move,” U-91 said with a choked-out sob. You’d never seen this hunter anything less than tough-as-nails. But now he was weeping. “I-I… I can’t find A-19.”
“It’s okay,” you said as calmly as you could. His wailing broke your heart. “I’m going to get you.”
The final hurdle was going to be just that. You needed to jump up and reach the top of the doorframe to be able to free U-91. You glanced down the corridor warily.
The ship growled impatiently as it shifted another inch.
You used all your strength to leap up in the air and catch the doorframe. You’re pretty sure you sprained your shoulder, if you hadn’t already in the crash. You struggled to keep a firm grip as you shimmied to reach him.
While supporting his weight, you pulled the pipe downwards and freed him. His weight fell on you, unleashing cries from you both. But you didn’t let go.
U-91 looked at you blearily, body wracked with pain and exhaustion. He froze. His eyes went black. You knew exactly whose body he could finally see.
“No,” he cried out pitifully. “No!”
“We have to go!” you implored him. “The ship is unstable and we’re going to fall.”
He couldn’t take his eyes off of his partner’s body.
You held him tightly, and looked down the corridor to where you began. This part was basically a giant slide if you aimed just right. Just like at a water park. Piece of cake.
You said a brief prayer and leaned U-91’s weight across your chest as you both slid down the walls of the corridor. You landed with a harsh thud and U-91 cried out again in agony.
You looked up at the Time Door, still open where you left it - where C-20 and B-15 had already made their escape. It was just you and U-91 alone. If you ran now, you could make it.
“You did this,” you heard U-91 moan beside you. He was delirious; you could only imagine the immense physical and emotional pain he was in. “We should’ve never followed you—”
His sentiments burned like acid, but you shook them off. “Come on!” you hissed, using all of your strength to pull him onto your back. Your shoulder was buckling from the weight, still ravaged from your last injury in the field.
Maybe you were bad luck. Maybe U-91 had a point.
“I need you to walk!” you ordered him.
“You killed us,” U-91 repeated through chattering teeth. “You killed us...”
You tried to throw him on your back and carry him fireman-style towards the exit. Four steps in and you lost your balance. Both of you fell to the ground as the ship started quaking. This time, it didn’t stop.
You felt a strong hand grip your upper arm and yank you to your feet. For a moment you expected to see C-20 back to rescue you. Your heart skipped a beat at who you saw instead.
Mobius pulled you up close until you were nearly nose-to-nose. You gaped at him like a literal deus ex machina come down from the heavens to deliver salvation. He wasn’t supposed to be on this mission. He wasn’t on the mission. How did he get here—?
The Time Door. He went through the Time Door. He came there for you.
“We gotta move!” Mobius shouted as the vibrations jolted you both into action. He reached down and grabbed hold of U-91, and you grabbed the injured man’s other side. It was much quicker to carry the man down the hallway until you were steps away from the time door.
Then the ground shifted, and your world was upside down.
Tumblr media
When you came to, the first thing you felt was the cold. You were laying on the ceiling of the ship.
There was a voice echoing— Mobius’ voice. He was crouched down over you shouting something that you couldn’t hear.
You noticed his TVA flank jacket and tie. Paired with the mustache he looked like a detective on a procedural cop show. This stupidly-handsome, hero time cop walked into an apocalypse to save you, now stared down at you with wide, terrified eyes.
That’s when you realized you couldn’t move.
“Stay with me,” he implored, as he lifted your head out of the water.
With your ears clear, you could finally hear the chaos around you. A symphony of groans from twisting metal squealed and cracked through the halls of the ship. You could hear another crushing sound on top of the din. Rushing water.
You lifted your head to see why you were cold. You were laying in rising water with your hips pinned to the ground by a fallen steel door. Mobius was pulling up on the door desperately trying to free you.
Your heart began to pound.
The ship had fallen off the cliff into the ocean below. You were now sinking, the wreckage falling deeper into the sea, with you trapped inside.
You saw water rushing in through the hallways, filling all the corridors. It surrounded you. It was going to bury you.
“Agent Mobius!” you heard from a distance. “Get through the portal!”
You turned your head to see two Minutemen shouting as they dragged the injured U-91 through a flickering Time Door. They were so far away.
“Get help!” Mobius ordered frantically. “I can’t lift it off of her!”
“We can’t keep it open!” one of their voices echoed back. “Sir, you gotta get out bef—”
The door shorted out and vanished. And now, you were both trapped. .
“Mobius…” you exclaimed, barely able to breathe through your terror.
The water was rising quickly. Mobius glanced down at you again, and he reached down deeper to get a grip on your restraints. You both struggled and grunted, but the door only slid a little further without freeing you.
You were allowed a little more space to breathe, and were able to lift your torso a little higher out of the water. The relief was short-lived. The water was flowing rapidly and neither of you were strong enough.
“Damn it!” he roared in frustration.
You glanced around frantically and spotted an opportunity. “Look! There!”
He followed the end of your finger to a pipe nearby. He was on his feet immediately, kicking the piece of metal loose as you continued to try to push the door off of you. Once he broke the pipe free, he brought it over to you and stuck it in the space between your body and the watery ground, driving it down deep beside your leg. He gripped the pole tight and lifted with all of his might.
You pushed up on the door as he shouted, his muscles burning. You were shifting and thrashing like a fish in the frigid water until you were finally able to pull your hips out. You kicked furiously in the tiny crawl space until your legs were freed.
Mobius dropped the weight, and collapsed on his hands and knees. You were reaching for him desperately, your fingers aching to hold him. He wrapped his arms around you, embracing you tightly, as you both kneeled in the ocean water.
A sob escaped your lips as you buried your face in his neck. “You came back for me…” Your body shook as you cried like a child.
He tightened his hold on you and you felt the hair of his mustache graze the delicate skin of your neck.
“Of course,” he replied.
You wanted to hold onto him forever, letting the tears flow freely down your cheeks. It was the greatest act of love that anyone had ever shown you. And it was about to be the last.
Your eyes focused ominously on other imminent danger pounding its way through the doors.
“Moby...” you shuddered as he pulled you up to your feet. The water level was crawling up your thighs, rushing in from everywhere.
He snapped into action, grabbed you by the wrist, and pulled you back down the (inverted) hallway where the Time Door once stood. You took giant strides to push through the current towards a less-submerged part of the corridor.
It became easier to run, but everywhere you looked, your nightmares were coming to life. Your brain began to cease; your mind locked up. You were being paralyzed by terror.
Mobius was shouting something again, but you only caught part of it.
“...outer ring of the ship. If we swim we can make it.”
“What?” you blinked incredulously. He pointed towards a submerged hallway. A water-filled tunnel into the deep darkness. You looked up at him with wide eyes, horrified at his suggestion.
“The ship’s emergency systems would’ve opened the door passages in the event of a crash,” Mobius rushed to explain. “The way should be clear. If we swim now, we can make it out of the ship and up to the surface.”
You were shaking your head, trembling uncontrollably.
“We can do this,” Mobius breathed, pulling you towards the deeper end of the water.
“No-no-no,” you shrank away from his grip. “No, please, no..!”
“We don’t have a choice!” he exclaimed, wrapping his arms around you. He took a breath and calmed himself once more, “We’re running out of time.”
“Please, don’t make me!” You were crying again. “I-I-I can’t, I’ll drown.”
“No, you won’t—”
“You don’t know where you’re going! You don’t know if there’s even a way out!”
“We have to try,” he explained, meeting your pleas with calm declarations. “If we don’t, we’re gonna die in here. The more we wait, the deeper we sink.”
He had stopped pulling you towards the water, but he wouldn’t let you pull away. He held your body close to him, and for a moment you thought he’d drag you under. He was begging you not to give him a reason.
“Please icanticantocant…” You gripped his chest desperately.
His hands went to the sides of your head, a placating touch matched with a stern voice. “Look at me,” he ordered. He was once again that person that you’d met in the time theater: calm, compassionate, but equally authoritative and focused. “Look at me,” he repeated. You did, and that was the last time he’d ever have to give you directions twice.
You reached up and covered his hands with your own as he held your face. His dark orbs were gentle as they drew you in, hypnotizing you into a vague sense of calm.
He was reading you again—reading and dictating the pages of your mind, writing miracles in the margins of your nightmares.
“You can do this,” he declared with resolve. He whispered to you at a frequency you could hear, even over the crashing current. “You’re the best hunter we have. I’ve seen what you can do.” He gazed at you like he could see the sun rise through your eyes. “You can do anything.”
Your heart swelled and ached.
“I swear to you,” he said softly, as if in prayer, “you will make it to the surface.” He touched his forehead to yours as he wiped the tears from your face with his calloused thumbs. “You’re not going to drown.”
He sounded so confident. Like it was already written and he’d read it many times before, and this was all just another page in the chronicles of the Sacred Timeline. You wanted to believe him. He was asking you to believe him.
That was the moment you realized it.
He was the only thing in the universe that mattered to you.
You couldn’t fathom a version of your story without him in it. You believed in him. And even if he was wrong, it was worth dying for.
You wanted to cry out; to tell him all of the things you felt for him - that you loved him, and would die for him, and wanted nothing more than to be back in his bed at the TVA where he could hold you and tell you that the nightmares were over and that you were safe with him.
“Okay?” he said to you, his eyes fixed.
You blinked at him, and gave him a gentle nod. “Okay.”
He took your hand in his and walked you into the icy water. You were soaked already but your body jolted from the shocking cold.
“We need to slow down our heart rates,” Mobius explained. “Preserve the oxygen a little longer, alright? So we’re going to take five deep breaths - together, then we go under, okay? I’ll give you the signal when it’s safe to breathe.”
You nodded, despite your terror. You couldn’t take your eyes off him, trying to burn into your memory every line and curve of his face.
“Just don’t leave me behind, okay?” you pleaded with him meekly. You didn’t even think about what you’d said until it was done. His eyes softened as they rested on you. “Promise you’ll stay with me?” you asked.
He contemplated you, then reached out and pressed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
“Always,” he promised.
You both turned towards the water, then back to each other. “Okay, five deep breaths,” he instructed. “In and out. Through your nose.” You filled your chest with air and exhaled deeply.
“That’s one,” he counted. “Pull in from the diaphragm.” Mobius rested his hand on your stomach and watched it move with your next inhale and exhale.
“Two.” Another deep breath. He removed his hand from your belly and grasped your hand. There was no way you were going to let it go.
“Three.”
You were gazing into his eyes again, losing yourself in their warm earthy tones.
“Four. One more, in and out.”
You pulled the air in through your nose and out through your mouth, in sync with him.
“Five. Deep breath.”
You filled your lungs as tightly as you could, and dived beneath the surface with him.
It was so much darker than you’d expected. You might as well have been swimming through a starry sky, and in your mind that’s what you wanted to pretend. There were brief flashes - sparks from blown fuses, mostly - that would illuminate your surroundings. You pretended they were flares from stars dying out as you swam through the milky way.
The water was so cold. It was the kind of cold that your skin doesn’t acclimate to. You started counting in your mind as your feet kicked. You weren’t sure how long you'd been holding your breath, but you’d only made it down the first hallway. Mobius pulled you around another corner, continuing on to some blind destination.
How did he know where he was going? You didn’t let your mind dwell on it, as you felt your heart start to pound under the exertion. He knows about space ships, probably an expert. An expert on space ships and jetskis.
Down another corridor. It was getting darker. Were you supposed to be swimming up, or down? You were moving so slow although every muscle in your body struggled to propel you forward. Maybe the cold was slowing you down.
Your chest was burning.
Mobius was still kicking and pulling himself through the water, holding your hand tightly. He was a strong swimmer. Fit for his age, which was… 1,000? Time moved differently in the TVA, so you didn’t know. He was moving slower now, you noticed. Or maybe time was slowing down. Maybe you were drowning already.
God, your chest hurts.
You reached another intersection. He hesitated, looking back and forth briefly. Your mind registered the brief pause, but before you began to panic he pulled you along.
The stars had all gone out. It was so dark.
You kept thrusting your arms deeper through the water, picking up the pace. They were burning from lack of oxygen, but it only made you fight harder.
Mobius pulled you to a stop and you went through another door. It was an elevator shaft of some kind, and the sparks above illuminated the path forward.
Bright lights were filling your gaze, but not from the sparks.
You kept kicking. You could see light. Red light.
Mobius is pulling you forward now. The opening is right there. You’re almost out of the ship and can see the red glow of the surface.
Every thrust of your arms makes them weaker. Like you’re swimming in molasses.
Your lungs are on fire. You’re kicking freely past the confines of the ship. The surface is getting brighter. How deep were you - maybe 40 feet? 30 feet?
You weren’t going to make it.
You were running out of air fast. Your body was beginning to convulse as Mobius held you against him. The world around you was getting brighter and darker.
You weren’t going to make it. You were running out of time.
Mobius stopped his upward push and for the first time you could feel he was losing it too. He let go of your hand, but grabbed the sides of your face. His mouth was on yours, and he gripped the knape of your neck.
That’s when you felt it. The double-squeeze. The signal.
You breathed inwards instinctively before you realized what he was doing. He emptied the last bit of oxygen into your lungs and you felt his grip soften.
It wasn’t much, but it was enough to save you from blacking out. You felt his touch disappear. Your hand shot out through the water and gripped him by the arm. You turned your gaze up to the surface and kicked as hard as you could, reaching up for the sky.
No, no, no, no, no.
You were busy trying to convince your mind that this wasn’t really happening. That Mobius was not limp in the current beneath you. You climbed furiously upwards. 15 feet. 10 feet. 5 feet.
Your head ripped through the surface as you gasped for air, choking on the blistering pain. Rain pelted your face as you kicked to stay afloat on the surface. “Mobius!” you cried out as you dragged him up above the water. His head rolled back in a way that gutted you.
You glanced around frantically as a wave crested over you both, filling your mouth with sea water. You spat as you broke through the surface again, kicking even harder to keep him afloat.
You started swimming towards the shore. The tide allowed you to ride the current most of the way. It was dumb luck. You probably would have drowned otherwise.
You held Mobius tight, fighting to keep his head above water, as another surge pushed you forward. A beachhead at the base of the cliff was visible in your sights. One more wave and you both washed up on the crystalline white sand of the shore.
Every muscle in your body throbbed, but you didn’t stop. You squirmed to your feet and dragged your partner with all of your strength further up the beach.
He wasn’t moving. You crouched down beside him, your body shaking with terror. You dropped your ear to his mouth.
He wasn’t breathing.
“No... no, Mobius...”
Your teeth were chattering cold while hot tears flooded down your cheeks. Your mind struggled frantically to process a solution.
You stacked your hands firmly in the center of his chest and sat up on your knees, counting each compression under your breath.
After the count of ten, you tilted his head back, opening his airway, pinched his nose and breathed deeply into his lungs. Tears were falling freely from your eyes onto his face, and you choked back a sob after your second breath did not resuscitate him.
“No,” your voice was thick with anger. “No - you promised me.”
You repeated the process of CPR, compressing his chest and breathing into his mouth to no avail.
“You promised me, you son of a bitch,” you hissed. “You promised you’d stay with me!”
You shoved the heel of your palm into his chest even harder. Your shoulders were filled with a strength that the rest of your body was drained of. This was worse than heartbreak. Your soul was crumbling.
“Please don’t leave,” you were begging. “Please come back... Please, I need you...”
A cough sprang forth from his throat as water shot up from his mouth.
The rush of joy winded you and knocked you to your elbows. Mobius turned his head and expelled the rest of the sea water from his lungs, coughing harshly, his whole body shaking.
You were shaking too, not just from the cold.
“God,” you breathed, overcome with immeasurable relief. Hearing him gasp for air was the closest you’d ever come to heaven.
You laid your head on his chest as silent cries racked your body. You were now a disciple, a humble and devout witness to whatever miracle brought you two together. You squeezed your eyes shut as you listened to the sound of his heartbeat, the gentle sound of each blessed breath. And you worshipped him.
“S-See,” he said with a cough, that sly smirk on his face. “To-toldya w-we’d make it.”
And for that comment, you were going to kill him.
Part 6
A/N: Ok kids, the next chapter is straight up hard R-rated. Like X-rated. Like. The. Whole. Chapter. I’ve never written anything like this. And it’s long! Is that weird? I keep thinking 4k words of smut is like… whoa… Your thoughts in the comments, please. Part of me also just wants to cut the smut in the middle but that would be cruel, right?
Did you like this chapter? Reblog & let me know! If you're not tagged, it's because I couldn't tag you.

———————————-
“Babe, wake up.” You groaned as you rolled over, waving your hand in the direction of the voice. You heard a husky chuckle, before a pair of soft lips pressed to the top of your hand. “Get up, baby. I made breakfast, well brunch.” Your eyes shot open at the mention of food and you turned to see you handsome boyfriend of 4 years towering over the bed with a tray in his hands.
You sat up rubbing the sleep from your eyes as the tray was placed over your lap. You looked at the food before gazing up at Chris.
“Happy Birthday, baby.” You smiled as he leaned down and pressed his soft lips against yours.
“Thank you, honey.”
“No problem, pretty girl. Now eat up and after you finish that, we’re taking a shower and i’m taking you out, ok?” He said as he put his hands on his hips. You nodded before tilting your head up to receive one last kiss which he happily obliged and then you begun your meal.
Less than 15 minutes later you were up and out of your bed standing in your morning glory of a bra and short shorts. Chris’ large hands wrapped around your hips lightly pushing you towards the adjacent bathroom.
“Make sure you just don’t wash your hair, ok.” He smiled as you turned you around. Cocking an eyebrow you smirked.
“What’s up your sleeve?” You eyed him up as he moved closer. He ran his hand up and down your arm lovingly while staring into your eyes.
“Nothing. Just wanna spoil my special girl. Now go, we gotta be outta here in 20 minutes. Go.” He kissed your cheek and spun you around, giving your ass a slap before gently pushing you forward.
-time skip-
20 minutes later you were in the car with Chris, your favourite songs echoed through the car loudly and you both yelled the lyrics.
Eventually you pulled up out the front of a hair dressers, a very expensive some mind you. Chris turned to you and winked before making his way out of the car and to your side to let you out.
“Baby, what are we doing here?” You looked into his ocean blue eyes as they gleamed with happiness,
“I Told you i wanna spoil you. Now come on.” He grabbed you hand and pulled you into the salon. The receptionist smiled and ushered you through a doorway to a chair. Chris smiled at you before waving goodbye.
“I’ll be back when your done, love.” He blew you a kiss and made his way out to the car. You sat in the chair as a platinum blonde lady walked through stopping at your chair.
“Hey there darlin, my names Christy and I’ll be doing your hair today.”
You smiled as she directed you to another room with cushy chairs and sinks.
-and another time skip-
Two relaxing hours later you looked at yourself in the mirror in front of you, the stylist beaming ear to ear as she rested her hands on the back of your chair.
Not only had she magnificently done your hair but also your make up leaving you with a gorgeous natural glam look.
“Do you like it?” She asked as she continued to smooth out your hair.
“I love it, thankyou so much. How much do i owe you?” You asked as she led you to the reception area.
“I’m afraid, that’s already been taken care of.” You turned around just to meet that handsome hunk of a man, you called your boyfriend leaning against the desk.
He moves over to you leaning in for a kiss but You quickly turn your head away so his lips meet your cheek. He looks at you confused before you smile before pointing to your lips.
“Lipstick.” He chuckles, kissing just beside your mouth and moving away and saying goodbye to the hair dresser and the receptionist.
You made you way back to the car hoping in and seeing a dry cleaners bag in the back.
“What’s that?” You turn to grab it before chris grabs your hand pulling it back to him.
“Gotta wait for that baby.” You playfully scowled at him before settling into your seat.
You drove about 5 minutes up the road to another cute, -expensive- salon, only this one being a nail salon.
“Second last stop, babyyyy.” He smiled pulling you out of the car once again.
You walked up to the receptionist, again the girl immediately recognising Chris.
“Ahhh, Christopher! Your here, come on through.” The lady exclaimed as she hurried you both through the doorway into a small, private room, with a nail technician getting her tools ready.
“Ah! Hi guys! I’ll be going your nails today, Mrs Evans, if you’d like to take a seat just here and Mr Evans there’s chair there if you’d like to sit.” You looked back at Chris as you moved to sit down stunned by the names. You felt like telling her you weren’t Mrs Evans but secretly you loved the ring it had and the butterflies it sent up your stomach.
“I would love to sit, but i’ve got a few more things to take care of.” Chris spoke running his hand along your shoulders and leaning down to kiss you.
“I’ll be back baby.” With that he walked out the door. You smiled as the lady started on your nails.
Little did you know Chris was going back and forth between the house during your appointments getting things ready for tonight.
After this past year all Chris wanted to do was spoil you. Covid and quarantine did not treat you well and it took a toll on both of you, but now he could doing something so he’d secretly sent out invites to some of your closest friends and your family including his inviting them to celebrate you and if everything goes right, your engagement. Chris had had the ring from about the 6 month mark and You’re now four years in and he couldn’t be more sure.
He walked through the house and into the back yard to see he mum, Scott, his sisters and a few of his friends all assisting in putting up lights and setting tables. Before he walked outside he made his way to your shared bedroom grabbing the roses and rose petals. Before he laid them down he placed a black silk dress with some black crystal strap heels on the bed before sprinkling some pink and red roses over the bed and the floor leading to the bedroom and your bed.
Smiling at his work he made his way back towards his back yard where he was immediately ambushed by his niece and nephews. He walked over to the group with one of them in his arms, leaning over and placing a kiss on his mums cheek.
“Ma, this looks great. Really great.” He smiled as the child in his arms was taken.
“No problem. Anything for that gorgeous girl of yours. Now where is she. Is it almost time?” Lisa was definitely very very excited. Almost more excited than Chris.
“Yes, Yes, ma i gotta get her in about... 10 minutes.” Checking his watch, he ran back up the stairs muttering a quick ‘i’ll be back’ and changing into some plaid pants, a white shirt and a brown jacket.
“Okayyy, i’m going to get the birthday girl. Remember be real quiet when we get back.” He smiled as everyone waved good bye.
10 minutes later you smiled admiring your freshly done nails. You looked over as the bell of the door rang seeing Chris walk in sunnies on all dressed up.
You got up and met him half way, holding your hand out and wiggling your fingers.
“Damn, babyyy.” He smiled lifting your hand closer to his face before pressing a kiss to it. He smiled up at you looking over his glasses, blue eyes gleaming. “So pretty, honey.” He smiled once more before quickly paying the bill and waving to the ladies.
The whole way home you watched as his leg bounced and his hand wrapped and unwrapped itself from yours.
You pulled up to the house and got out of the car, Chris quickly led you toward your bedroom. He rest his hand on the knob giving you a smirk before swinging the door open.
You let jaw dropped as you saw the flowers and black dress resting on the bed.
“Oh, Chris.” You moved to the dress smiling as you lifted it. Turning you smiled as you watched chris rock back and forth a shy smile.
“Wanted to spoil you baby. Now put it on. Got one last surprise.” He smiled leaving the room and closing the door behind him.
Smiling you slipped from your jeans and shirt into the dress. You smiled as you checked your -frankly- gorgeous figure out in the mirror before a loud knock interrupted your admiring. You called out to come in and in walked Scott all nice in a button up and jeans.
“Scott! What are you doing here!?” You smiled as he enveloped you in a hug.
“I came to see my favourite girl!! and Chris made me come get you and bring you down stairs.” Stepping back he gave you a quick once over before grabbing your hand making your twirl.
“You look gorgeous babyyy. I love it!” You smiled and giggles before you were lead out the room and towards the back yard. Before you got to the door you were instructed to close your eyes.
“Good god, what are you doing to me.” Scott laughed and lead to carefully to the back step.
Silently he stepped away from you to stand in front of you along with the rest of your friends and family.
“Umm, Scott can i take my hands away now??” You chuckled and before long two strong hands were lifting your own off your face.
As your eyes adjusted to the light Chris stepped in front of you with everyone else as everyone yelled “Surprise!” and “Happy Birthday!”’s
You jumped and laughed as you looked at the sea of people.
Chris slowly walked towards you before whispering “happy birthday” and placing a soft kiss on your lips.
“Did you do this?” You asked. He grabbed your hands smiling and turned to everyone else.
“Yes i did. Do you like it?” For the first time since you stepped outside you looked around seeing the fairly lights everywhere small tables, and the couches, blankets and cushions for everyone.
“Baby i love it. Thankyou so much.” You smiled leaving a long, lingering kiss on his plump pink lips.
Soon as your moment was over you moved over to say hi and thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes and for turning up.
About an hour and a half later you were standing around talking to some old friends when a glass clinking echoed around the yard. You turned to see Chris standing on a chair.
“‘Scuse me! Can i have your attention!” Everyone turned as he cleared his throat one last time.
“Just wanted to make a quick speech. Y/N, Baby, if you could come here please.” You quickly made you way over to where he stood now on the ground. He took your hand before turning to everyone.
“This woman is one of the kindest, most loving, most beautiful women i’ve ever met and had the pleasure of being with. She is forever teaching me new things and i’m so deeply in love her for everything she does for me and my family,” he looked you in the eyes smiling, “I want to keep this woman in my life for the rest of my life so i guess what i’m trying to say is..” he let go of your hand, his sliding into his pocket and pulling out a little velvet box. You eyes widened and your hand flew to your face. He smiled nervously as he slowly lowered himself to one knee.
“Y/N, baby, will you stay by my side forever. Will you put up with me and my bullshit for the rest of our lives. But most of all, will you please make me the luckiest and happiest man on this earth, and marry me?” Tears pooled in both your eyes as your voice got caught in your throat. Not trusting your voice you nodded, your head almost detaching from your neck.
You bent down slightly cupping the side of his face and pressing your lips to his in a feverish kiss, his free hand coming up to cup your face in return. You pulled back whispering a yes as he stood and pressed your foreheads together. Looking down he slipped the diamond onto your finger. You smiled down at it before locking eyes with your now-fiancé.
“I love you so much, Chris. I can’t think of anything better, than spending the rest of my life with you.” You smiled kissing him one last time.
Neither of you had noticed Scott with his phone out filming everything. Turning to everyone he grabbed your hand swinging it in the air and shouting “She said yes!!!” You laughed and everyone cheered quickly moving to congratulate you two.
The rest of the night went past in a blur Chris barely leaving your side and you barely leaving his as everyone drank and celebrated both your and your engagement.
Eventually the night ended about 12.30 am, everyone heading to bed, you with your fiancé. Man you’d never get sick of saying that.
-9 Months later-
you walked into the boutique, Randy meeting you, your best friends and mum at the entrance, camera crews lurking behind.
“Hello, hello!!!! Y/N! How are you!?” You smiled giving him a hug.
“I’m good! How are you?” Answer with a “fantastic” and you introduced Randy to your mum and best friend before be less through the lobby to the rooms with all the dresses.
“Okay, so, what were we thinking?” Randy clapped his hands together.
“Umm so i was thinking something princess-y like a ball gown, but a strapless, you know??” You said as you avoided the cameras.
Being Chris’ girlfriend turned fiancé you were used to cameras but it still made you nervous sometimes.
“Okay, we’ve got a perfect range for you, if you come with me we’ll chose two or three and go back to the change rooms and try them on.” he placed a hand on your lower back leading you away from your family.
About 10 minutes later you walked out in a plain white ball gown -https://pin.it/5cuCPCq- with a slit for your leg. Standing on the podium you looked at yourself in the mirror. It was a gorgeous dress but, just didn’t feel right.
You turned to your guests and splayed out your hands beside you. You mother clasped her hands over her mouth murmuring how beautiful you look. While your best friend looked at you with a proud smile.
“So what do you think?” Your mum smiled as you turned back to look at yourself.
“I like it. It’s gorgeous, but it just doesn’t quite feel right.” Your cocked your head to the side as you surveyed yourself.
Chris would love this but this was for you.
Randy smiled. “Well it looks gorgeous but we still have more to try.” Once again he help out his hand helping you down before walking you back to the room.
You tried on one more that wasn’t right before trying on the last one. As soon as you put it on, you felt your body light up. You looks down and smoothed the skirt.
Holy Shit
You walked out, back to the stand immediately turning to your mum. Her hands flew to her mouth covering it as tears sprung to her eyes. Before you teared up yourself you looked to your best friend who was nodding furiously.
“My Goodness! It’s gorgeous!!!” Your best friend gushed as you smiled widely, so wide it felt as if your cheeks would split.
You turned to the mirror getting proper view of yourself.
“Sooooo,” Randy’s voice broke you from your thoughts. Your turned to see his equally bright and smiling figure. “Might this be a yes?” His hands clasped together and pressed to his lips. Turning back for one last once over you nodded.
“Yeah. It’s a big yes!” You smiled as everyone rushed up to you hugging what they could.
Randy and the assistant’s clapped as you twirled in celebration.
-3 months later.-
The dress was perfect, the ceremony was perfect, everything was perfect.
The wedding was everything you could have dreamed of from the forest ceremony and the reception.
Lights lined the trees and the under cover canopies. Tables littered these canopies flowers and napkins with the writing Mr&Mrs Evans embroidered on them.
Everyone spent the night dancing and laughing and celebrating you. The place was filled with close friends and family and a couple of A-listers including good ole Sebastian and Anthony, Scarlett and Robert and more.
Once the night was over Chris carried you bridal style (lol) through the threshold of your already shared home, before walking you to the room and placing you down.
Chris continued to worship you all night from small light kisses to consummating the marriage (wink wink) all night.
To say you were the happiest you’ve ever been was an understatement, and this was going to be the rest of your life.
Nothing could be better that this. Now Mrs Evans. Damn.

The Breeding Kings, pt. 14, (Ahkmenrah x Reader)
Description: And the blame.
Notes: WC: 5.6k
+
Crimson painted his clothes as Batnoam fell to his knees, rushing to support his uncle's limp neck. Abdhamon's mouth gaped open as his head lolled to the side, the whites of his eyes rolling back to expose red veins, crawling up to his cloudy iris. A sharp gasp tore through you as you saw this. Batnoam cradled the corpse in his arms, calling his name again and again but never crying. No, he shook the weak shoulders, as though he were trying to wake the man up, not hug him.
Ahkmen grabbed you by the waist, pulling you close with the sudden realization that someone here killed Abdhamon. Someone stabbed him, someone was capable of murder, and he only knew five out of twenty-plus people, and even those relationships were no more than a scant introduction.
Others around him had the same idea––people grouped into each other, drawing closer to those they trusted and staring wide-eyed at anyone they distrusted. Murmurs ran through the crowd as Batnoam finally raised himself to his feet.
"How did this happen," he said, his voice trembling and low.
The mumbles disappeared into silence.
"Who did this?!" He barked louder, causing you to flinch back into Ahk's hold.
"Calm down, Batnoam," Ahk said softly.
"Don't tell me what to do!" He seethed, his hands curling into fists. "Someone here did this. We're four days' travel from any city."
Ahk's grip on your shoulders grew tighter.
"None of you are leaving till the murderer steps forward," said Batnoam as he met the eye of every listener.
"We don't have enough food to just stay here," Khawa said, stepping forward. "We need to keep moving."
"I'll starve all of you out," Batnoam growled. "I don't care how long it takes."
Frightened words poured from the mouths of onlookers, panicked by the sudden proclamation.
"My people need to be in Babylon within the week, we can't afford this kind of break," interrupted one of the women standing beside the Egyptian soldier Makko had warned Ahk about.
"You think I can afford the death of my uncle?" Batnoam responded bitterly.
"I don't –"
"No one is leaving. I want all of you inside this tent, now," Batnoam said as he drew out his sword, pointing everyone towards the white tent that the corpse of Abdhamon bled out under.
Awkward looks were followed by shuffling as Batnoam barked the order again, thrusting the curved blade towards the group. Ahk backed both of you away, rushing you into the tent and pulling you to the furthest corner, and sitting down quietly in hopes of avoiding suspicion.
Over time with you, Ahk slowly realized you only rarely initiated touch with him or anyone, but now you were pressing yourself against him, nearly sitting in his lap. You were wrapped around his arm, your legs half propped up on his own crossed legs.
"We'll do this organized," Batnoam said, watching carefully and counting those seated. "Clean. Fair. Unlike the coward who took Abdhamon in the night instead of facing his opponent like a man."
Ahk grimaced.
"I want you all to pick a representative," he said. "Someone you believe will protect your innocence, should you have it."
You and Ahk looked to each other.
"Do we.. both go up?" He asked softly.
"Do not ask me," you said, raising your hands defensively.
"Hey," someone whispered, tapping you on the shoulder.
You turned and Ahk followed as they tapped his shoulder, as well.
"You can go with us," Makko suggested, gesturing to his group.
"Who's speaking for you?" Ahk asked.
"Khawa."
"Absolutely," Ahk agreed without hesitation. He then turned to you and said in a much softer voice, "right? Is that alright?"
"Yes, that is good," you said quietly, your gaze darting between him, Makko, and Batnoam.
"Okay. Are you feeling alright?"
"Well..." you sucked in a breath as you looked up at him, "no. I do not see... the dead very much."
"Ah," he mumbled.
It was understandable––he was, in a way, desensitized to violence, and found himself more comfortable around it than many others were, but still less comfortable than people such as. He had never been sure whether or not you'd seen the actual death of your family members, and going by your current reaction he'd venture to guess you hadn't. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure what was worse; seeing your parents killed, or having them go missing without a single trace, like they'd never existed in the first place.
He began to wonder about Batnoam, about his parents, if he'd lost them and that was why he was with his uncle now. Batnoam was old enough to be on his own––a little over 20 years old––but that didn't mean he was self-sufficient.
Those thoughts, those questions, left his mind as you curled further into him, feeling your rapidly beating heart through his arm clutched to your chest. He shuffled to try and hold you.
"Don't worry," he murmured, his lips pressed to the top of your head. "I'll keep us safe."
How he would do that he had no idea, but he was assured he would sooner walk into the ocean than leave you defenseless.
Both of you fell asleep, leant against each other until someone knocked Ahk's supporting hand with their foot, collapsing your fragile tower. Ahk looked up in a blunder, recognizing Khawa above him holding a torch.
"What is –" you mumbled as you sat up, before being interrupted.
"I am to question all of you," she said, looking to each of her counterparts, and then to you.
"Oh for fuck's sake," Ahk sighed. "This is going to take forever. The desert isn't exactly a safe place to hold a murder investigation."
"I am fully aware of that, Aganu," she said sternly. "What would you do?"
He had no reply, which was in itself its' own answer. He shrunk into himself and crossed his arms, relenting to Khawa, who nodded her head curtly before beginning with Eshai.
Each interview took hours, leaving the whole of the caravan cooped up, cramped, and irritable. Rumors spread easily beneath the white tent, even into the next morning. Khawa only managed to get through three people by sunrise, leaving you and Ahk to scuff the dirt floor, Ahk braiding short, curled strands of your hair, and you petting your cat curled up after a long night of wandering. Almost all the mud from the dead sea was gone by now, but it still left traces of red in the locks.
Shirat had been plucking her lute for the past couple hours, though there was no melody or rhythm to the notes, and she played very quietly so as to not draw attention. Eshai didn't have that same aptitude, and paced for the hours following his interrogation. Similarly, Makko couldn't stop talking, spouting theories and worries without thought.
"Vhat do you think he will do to whoever did zis?" He asked in a quiet voice, broken by his relentlessly bouncing leg.
"I don't know, Makko," Ahk said, the same thing he said for the last six questions.
"Maybe.. he vill cast zem into the desert?"
"I don't know."
"Maybe he vill just kill zem," he shrugged.
"Well... where does he come from?" Ahk asked, his hands falling from your hair as he focused onto Makko.
"I don't think he ever said," Makko said, pulling at his lip with tense fingers. "He might have said zat he was on the Euphrates, but I do not know for surely."
"That's mostly Babylonian, isn't it?"
Makko shrugged, his eyes falling to the ground.
"They're eye for an eye types," Ahk said quietly.
"... I hope so," Makko mumbled, earning a surprised look from Ahk. He quickly explained himself with, "I do not trust those who can take a life."
"I don't blame you," he said as he returned to your hair, continuing with the small, half-done braid hanging near your ear.
Once his arms tired of holding up his hands, he dropped them into your lap, shifting to wrap himself around your torso from the back. He rested his chin on your shoulder, taking in your scent deeply till he leant on your cheek.
"Be needing something?" You asked with a halfhearted chuckle.
"No," he sighed, enjoying how wholly he could wrap around you, hiding you from sight. "Just a little tired."
"You did sleep," you said.
"A little," he said with a small nod. "Not going to sleep for a while after this."
"Oh. You will still help me to get sleep, yes?" You asked, twisting to try and face him, only to bump your nose with his and turn rapidly away in embarrassment.
"Yeah," he mumbled, slowly resting his chin back on your shoulder as you tried to breathe. "Of course."
Khawa returned with the last of her own people, her attention then turning to Ahk, who was still wrapped around you and dozing uneasily. You nudged him after noticing her look.
"Your turn, Egyptian," she said, turning to leave, leading him to a corner of the abandoned edges of camp, where no one could hear them speak.
He gulped through a tight throat as he sat down on a boulder, his knees pressed tight together and his hands intertwined neatly in his lap. Khawa spared him little mercy, sitting down across from him with a seething look, her glare burning through his consciousness. He hadn't done anything––at least not to his knowledge––but she already had him sweating bullets.
"How had you met this group?" She began with, never blinking even once while Ahk tried to stutter out an answer.
"Batnoam, um.. he and Yogi were talking in one of the shops at Jericho, and, uh... they found out we were going the same direction, so Batnoam introduced us to his uncle," he said, fidgeting with the growing tail end of his hair.
"And how did you meet Yogi?"
"In Egypt," he said with a nod. "My friend introduced us, they worked at the school I attended."
"Why are you travelling through the desert?"
"We're trying to find Yogi's home. They weren't... they aren't safe in Egypt. Yogi thinks Harappa will be better for them," he answered quietly.
"Why is it not safe in Egypt for them?"
"I'm... honestly.." he trailed off as he tried to recall what exactly had spurred the escape on, as there were several occurrences leading up to the decision. "Yogi kept trying to learn what the priests were teaching me and some of the other noble's children, and the soldiers didn't like that, so... I, um, I found them locked beneath the palace."
"Because they were trying to... learn?" She asked with an odd look.
"I know," he said, sighing. "I never claimed Egypt had great ideas when it comes to immigrants and the poor."
"No one really does," she said quietly.
A moment of silence passed before the questions resumed, continuing into the late morning when Khawa finally returned Ahk to the tent. The walk back was equally as silent, Ahk's hands curled into anxious fists even as he sat back down next to you, calming only with your touch on his thigh.
"Are you good?" You asked, your eyes flickering all over his body as though you were searching him for wounds.
"I'm fine," he mumbled, looking away.
"Yogi," a quiet voice said from above, nudging you on the leg. You neck craned up to Khawa. "I need to ask you questions, too."
"Oh," you said, glancing around before picking Sephys carefully off of your lap, and placing her in Ahk's.
Khawa offered you her hand, pulling you up when you took it. You cleared your breath, brushed your clothes of dust and hair, and followed Khawa out of the tent, glancing back to Ahk with a tented brow tight with anxiousness. He had to bite his cheek to avoid following after that look.
She asked you the same questions––why you were there, how you'd come across the troupe, and how you met your companion. You answered to the fullest extent till Khawa leaned in, her tone sobering further as distant conversation muttered in the wind.
"Have you met Aganu's family?" She asked.
"No," you said. "He has not seen my family, too."
She stared at you, seemingly gauging your expression.
"Is he... violent?"
"Not as I have seen," you said, shaking your head.
"And his friends? Have you met them?"
"Yes, they are... full of money, but good people," you said.
Another moment of silence passed before she relented with, "alright. We can go now."
When you returned, you sat back down next to Ahk, earning his attentive worry.
"Did she rattle you?" He asked, scanning you much like you'd scanned him when he came back.
"No, I am good," you chuckled, gently pushing away his tight-gripped hands.
"What did she ask you?"
"Please do not talk about your interviews with each other," Khawa said in a stern but low voice, looking up from the wooden pipe in her hands.
"Sorry," you said instinctively.
"What've you got there?" Ahk asked, squinting as he tried to make out the pipe's intricate details marking up and down the pipe.
"Azullu," she said, pinching more of an herb from an antelope-skin bag, and stuffing it into the bowl end of the pipe, where a crescent moon was carved.
"What is it?" You asked as Ahk shuffled forward on his knees.
He peeked into the small, drawstring bag, to where ground leaves had been dried and turned into a green herb. With a whiff, he easily recalled the scent.
"Hey, we've had this before," he said, nudging you without looking away from the bag.
"We have?"
"It does have many names," Khawa said, shrugging.
"Shemshemet, the, uh..."
"Ohh, the shemet!" You said with the biggest grin he'd seen all night and day.
"They say it is bhang, in Harappa," Makko informed you, glancing briefly away from his embroidery; a long, white sheet half in his lap and half in Eshai's, the both of them sewing tiny beads of faience to the silk fabric.
"You know about my home?" You asked, your excitement giving way for shock (albeit still excited shock). You were practically beaming, leaning closer to Makko who sat across from you in the small circle.
"A little," he said with a nod. "I learned about it while.. working in a library."
"You worked in a library?" Ahk asked.
"Well –"
"You can read, then?" You asked, your eyes growing wider as you expectantly awaited his answer.
"A little," he said again, this time more subdued.
"Alright, I would like some help starting a fire," Khawa stated suddenly as she stood, her pipe in hand.
"Why?" Caifas asked in almost a whine.
"It's already so hot," Eshai added quietly in the Akkadian language.
"Fine. You want to wait to have this?" She gestured to the pipe. "Then you can wait until the night."
She sat back down, her words bringing a dead stop to the conversation held in the circle of seven. In the middle of the silence Ahk's heart began to pound, overflowing with a sudden worry considering the sanity of Batnoam's methods. Food had been his main concern, but now that he thought of it, no one there had any access to water. At all. He dug his uncut nails into his palm, digging in deeper than he'd ever been able to with polished and clean nails.
"How long do you think Batnoam will keep us here?" He asked softly, staring at the ground and addressing no one in particular.
"I do not know," Khawa said in a strained voice.
"We are in a drought, aren't we? We probably aren't going to get more water until we reach Terqa," Ahk said with strained hands.
"I do not think Batnoam cares," you murmured, looking behind you.
Ahk followed your gaze to the distant form of Batnoam, towering over the tiny bushes growing in the somewhat moist area of the desert. He was searching through the tents and tarps, tearing apart beds and campfires in search of something, something which he could apparently not find.
"You are right," you said to him quietly. "We do need to travel alone."
"No, we just need to travel in smaller groups," he said, hoping his words would be of some comfort to you.
You didn't verbally respond, but you leant your head on his shoulder and sighed deeply. He revelled in that touch.
The morning passed into noon and into night, at which time Ahk realized he'd only taken two swallows of water throughout the whole day. His tongue could barely move from the roof of his mouth and he was rubbing his eyes incessantly, partially from the wind that blew burning sand into them, and partially because they were already dry to begin with. Batnoam made no progress, but the people who sat beneath his sword were growing antsy.
Perhaps the only good part of the day finally progressing into the evening was that the seven of them now had a good excuse to light a fire. One could not see the stars sitting beneath a tent, so with Batnoam's permission you went to gather bits of brush and sticks, bringing them back to Khawa's seat.
Once she was satisfied she began to light the fire, muttering incantations to herself in languages neither of you could understand. Instead of asking, you pulled Ahk back down to his own seat, and enjoyed the slow process of creating and taming fire. He moved to find Batnoam, but you pulled him down before he could stand and intertwined your hand with his. That kept him unbreakably near to you.
The fire easily burnt through bits of leaves and soft fibers, glowing just long enough to light the larger parts of wood on fire, as well. Soon the campfire was crackling away, lighting up the darkened tent and allowing Khawa to finally pull the packed pipe out from underneath her robes.
She stuck a thin stick in the fire, lighting the tip of it and bringing it into the bowl. By breathing in from the mouthpiece she inhaled the smoke, allowing it to pour out from her nose and mouth before she drew in again, assuring it would stay alight. Khawa then passed it to Eshai, who was sitting beside her.
Smoke from both the pipe and the campfire began to drift to the ceiling of the tent, pooling in the highest spot till a grey haze blurred out the more distant parties. The smell reached each corner, causing more than a few people to look their way, but none dared to say anything.
Shemshemet––or azullu, as Khawa called it––did wonders for relaxing the body in both physical and mental aspects. His grandfather had used it for the poisoning of the limbs, when his joints began to ache and creak with weary use. Now he called upon its' psychic properties, breathing in deep in hopes of an even deeper cleansing, ridding him of the less useful anxiety. You did the same, inhaling a massive cloud of smoke that billowed out from between your darkened lips.
"Wow," he said involuntarily after the last puffs of smoke left you. You giggled, your hand coming up to cover your mouth that remnants of the herb still left.
"Thank you," you said with a bow of your head in his direction that also left him laughing despite himself.
While desert days could roast an egg on a rock, the evenings were almost pleasant, chilled only by winds that called for yet more campfires to be started. Carpets, bags, and blankets were stuffed away in the corners of the open, white tent, making room for warmth that soon filled up the camp. Batnoam was still nowhere to be seen and had left Bahiti, a woman from Egypt, to survey the people.
No meat was cooked. No searing, no scents, only the burning bowl of shemshemet still drifting skyward. Everyone had unanimously, as well as silently, agreed that tonight would be a night of very little in hopes of preserving their food for the prolonged stay in the Shamiyah desert.
If Ahk stood, which apparently counted as 'suspicious' to Bahiti, he could find the edge of the land beyond the shallow dip in the dunes, towards distant mountains, still short but ragged with red rock. In the night it was little less than a silhouette, a darkened outline beneath the glowing horizon leading up into ink-black night. He had never been further from the Nile, and despite the less-than-suitable circumstances, he still enjoyed the mystery of a land he'd only ever heard about in his caretaker's stories as a child.
Since the bowl, and thus the herb, was shared, passed around by seven people, Ahkmen felt less of the effects than usual. No mind-blowing high or giddy behavior, but instead a vague calmness that helped compress the occurences of the last day and a half.
Abdhamon was dead. His nephew, Batnoam, had learned a fair amount from him, but Ahk correctly surmised he didn't know the desert quite as well as the elder did. That meant many of the stops along the way, many of the oasises, would be lost to the caravan, and water would be more scarce.
"Where do you zink he is?" Makko asked in a whisper, subtly looking out past Ahk's head.
"Batnoam?"
Makko nodded.
"I think he's searching our belongings," Ahk said, turning 180 to look as well before Makko reached panicked hands forward and pulled him back into place.
"Do not let him see you," he said with wide eyes.
"Calm down," Ahk chuckled. "He won't hurt us for no reason."
"He did threaten us with a sword," Khawa added quietly, a pointed argument that left both Ahkmen and Makko silent.
Ahk, who didn't have many hobbies outside studying astronomy and reading, managed to fit seventeen braids into your hair without you noticing. Tiny, woven strands now littered your head, a mark of someone who cares about you, though you wouldn't see them, at least not for a long while now.
You kept yourself busy for a while––helping Makko, Eshai, and Khawa embroider the silk cloth, or working on mending your own tattered clothes, but you soon tired of sewing. For the last hour you'd been doing nothing but playing with Sephys, and even she was growing sick of you.
"Yogasundari," he murmured, tapping your arm. You immediately turned to him. "Come lie down with me."
"You are going to sleep?" You asked, but still followed him as he lay on his back, trailing as though you were tied to him.
"No, I want to show you something."
As promised, Ahk couldn't quite get tired what with all the ruckus, and since the fires were going on their last embers, the sky would be clearer now than any other time.
Waiting.
A day and a half of waiting, and at last you were on your backs next to each other, staring up at the same stars. His shoulder brushed yours, but your hands remained folded neatly on your chest.
"Did you know the pyramids are the stars?" He asked, tilting his head to you.
".. how?" You asked in a soft, mystified voice.
"The entrance to Osiris' palace lies in the brightest star," he said as he raised his arm, pointing to Sirius. "Sirius, and then Orion."
"They are.. together?"
"Well the pyramids, the three large ones that I took you by, they are matching to the belt of Orion, and the great Sphynx of the city matches the great Lion of the sky," he said, shifting to point to the lion's constellation. "That is where the sun rises in the aftermath of creation."
"In the death?"
He nodded.
"And the belt of stars," he gestured to the ring of white stardust painting the middle of the sky, "is the Nile, on earth. With the living."
"So in death... the river is the stars," you said, turning from the stars to him.
"A little, yes," he chuckled, adoring the humored gleam in your eye.
"And the Pharaoh is the stars," you said.
"Yes, when Pharaohs die, they become the stars. Particularly over..." he scanned the sky for a moment, "there."
A cluster of bright stars remained hidden near the horizon.
"Ah," you whispered, nodding. "I am happy to see you are doing good with your... your promise."
"Which one?" He asked, recalling what you were talking about only after he'd asked.
"You will tell me what you know, remember?" You said as you met his eye expectantly. "I will give you all the beer you want."
"Don't worry about that," he said, sitting up with a tone of seriousness in his movements. "You don't need to make me anything or give me anything. I came with you willingly and I will share with you willingly."
You giggled, closing your eyes and turning away with reddened cheeks. Your knees propped up, hands coming to fall beside your head, even as you shook your head to yourself.
"What?" He asked with a grin.
"You will share with me?" You asked through your giggles.
"Everything," he answered.
"Everything?" You repeated, your brows quirking up.
You shot up, reaching a lightning-fast hand forward and snatching the scarf off his head. He let out a small, subdued shout from the suddenness of it.
"I do look good?" You asked, situating the scarf over your already existing hat, as well as over all the braids Ahk had managed to fit into your hair.
"Wonderful, as always," he chuckled.
"Then I will have your shirt too," you said, and before he could process what you said you were tugging at his shirt, undoing the tassels and buttons and practically ripping it off his body.
"Hey!" He said indignantly, his mouth falling open as he stared at you confused.
Somehow, you managed to fit his shirt over your clothes as well, now wearing double-hats and double-shirts while Ahk only had his pants and sandals left.
"Meanie," he said, plucking the scarf off your head and wrapping it around his bare waist.
"Here, you need this, for your head," you said, unable to stop giggles from pouring out of you as you set his shirt over his head. He laughed, his vision mostly blocked by the large piece of fabric.
"Mother Goddess," Makko interrupted, turning to both of you with a very strange look on his face. "How long have you two been married?"
"Honeymoon time," Caifas said quietly.
"Honey-what?" You asked, at the same time Ahk said –
"We're not married," said Ahkmen far too quickly. His eyes darted to you and back to the group at large.
Everyone fell silent as they gave him odd stares.
"What??" He asked again, and they dropped it.
"What is honeymoon?" You whispered, tugging at his arm.
"Nothing. Phase of moon," he mumbled.
Footsteps grinding against rock and brush interrupted the murmurs of conversation passing around the tent. Ahk turned to see Batnoam, black crescents beneath his eyes and a dagger in his hand as he approached the caravan. He pulled you into him, shielding you away as Batnoam passed by, headed towards the center to address those who stared at him.
"Nassor?" He called; the name of the Egyptian soldier.
Ahk could physically feel his will shrinking as Nassor stood, his tall, dark form sticking out amongst the light colored robes of his group. He stepped forward without flinching.
"You tossed this away," Batnoam said, practically growling the words as he pointed the bloodstained dagger directly at Nassor's neck. The man still didn't flinch. "I know you were carrying it while we were travelling. The hilt is quite recognizable."
"You have no proof," Nassor stated flatly, crossing his arms.
"We're a thousand spans from any government, Nassor," he spat. "I don't need evidence to do in with you."
"You w-"
Nassor's word stopped with the gushing of blood, his own dagger thrust into his throat. You gasped sharply, backing up into Ahk as you once more covered your mouth, wide eyes burning with fear.
With a harsh pull, Batnoam leased the blade from Nassor's neck, allowing the soon-to-be corpse to fall to his knees. Shouts and claims of insanity began to come from the crowd, something Ahk should've expected sooner than he did.
"Quiet! All of you," he barked above the noise, pointing the dagger covered in two men's blood to the crowd, causing drops of it to fall upon them. "Bahiti says there's another. Someone who told Nassor what to do."
Ahk glanced to those surrounding him both near and far, a sudden agitation building in his veins.
He's going insane, he thought, his eyes darkening.
"That person, or persons, is going to step forward," he met each listener's eye, "or I'm going to start killing till I find the right one."
You gave Ahk a look that screamed, 'what the fuck'.
"You can't do that!" Someone cried, but was quickly hushed by a hand over their mouth. Others voiced such things in wavering tones.
Batnoam reached into the crowd, dragging out one of the men from Cyprus by his hair. Ahkmen hadn't met the man before, but he had a short stature, long hair, and was clawing at Batnoam's hands in an attempt to release them. His woman companion leased a cry of his name; Aegeus. At the sight of this you dug into your bag, searching frantically for some sort of potion that would be of use in such a situation.
Before you could find anything befitting, Makko suddenly shot up from his spot beside Ahk, yelling something he couldn't process till the whole of the tent turned dead silent.
"It's me," he'd said, a proclamation both you and Ahk had a visceral reaction to.
"What?" Ahk said astounded.
"I'm –" his voice cracked, "I did not kill anyone, but I'm probably ze reason your uncle is dead."
Batnoam, who was still holding the man by his hair with a knife to his throat, paused to listen with dead eyes. Attention fell to Makko, who began to shake with the many eyes pointed towards him.
"My father's wife hired men to do away vith me. I had to leave my home, but I am sure those hunters would chase me even here," he said, growing quieter as he finished.
"Why has she done that?" You asked.
"Mostly to legitimize her son's claim to the throne," he mumbled.
"The throne?" Batnoam repeated, seemingly in the same state of disbelief and shock as everyone else. He released the man, who scrambled back to his wife.
Ahkmen, sensing an opportunity, decided to look out across the faces. Most had open mouths, others wide eyes, but all paying ardent attention, except two men sitting close to each other, who only looked up sparingly to glare at Makko.
"It's them," he said suddenly, interrupting Makko's next sentence as he pointed a finger to the two men. He stood and continued with, "they're the only ones not surprised by what you're saying."
All eyes turned to the two men, one of which began to look rather frightened, while the other turned to anger.
"Just because we're not paying attention doesn't mean we know what you're talking about," one of them said with a glare.
"It's hardly evidence," the other said.
"Haven't we been over this?" Ahk asked, empowered for the first time in days to tease. He tapped his chin as though he was thinking it over. "Oh, right. We're weeks away from civilization. No law requires proper evidence... it's only what we know."
One of the stranger's faces paled, while the other hardened, glaring at Ahkmen.
Batnoam motioned to Aegeus––the short, stocky man with the terrified wife––who steeled his expression, grabbed the two men, and threw them forward to land in front of Batnoam, their faces scratched and scuffed with dust. Stress still remained knotted into his features, shifty eyes switching between the members of his own group and Batnoam.
"How did you say you were from? How you got here?" Batnoam demanded, now pointing the blade to the men knelt before him.
"Theodore said he was from mainland Greece," Aegeus answered for him, his voice broken and cracking. "But Mopsus travelled recently from the Persian Gulf. Elam, I believe."
"Elam, they have made much grief with Assyrians," Batnoam said, eyes flickering between the two men. "Someone must've payed you off, and you killed my uncle to cover your tracks, just in case anyone knew who Makko is."
He leaned in, pressing the dagger up against Mopsus' neck, drawing a thin sliver of crimson blood.
"I live for killing filth like you," he spat.
With that, he shot the blade in a straight line, slicing open his throat. Mopsus let out garbled sounds as bubbling blood poured from him, filled his mouth so as to make him choke on his own lifeline. Ahk curled you into his chest, hiding your face from view as he fell from his knees, thumping onto the carpet floor. He could feel you flinch at each sound, and the panicked breathing that followed.
Another body thumped to the ground before Batnoam stood, straightening his back as he gazed down upon the mangled bodies still bleeding out onto the carpets.
"Alright," he breathed out, tossing the dagger to the side. "Let's get the hell out of this desert."

You Look Quite Divine Tonight (Cthulhu x Lighthouse Keeper!Male Reader)
The years have not been kind to you.
You are grizzled, old, scarred from your face to your heart, and tired. Your hair has gone white from age, along with your beard, and wrinkles break up the symmetry of your sandpaper skin. Your voice constantly aches and itches from yelling and overuse, though you appreciate the light Scottish accent you allegedly have. It makes you seem tougher than you actually are. There are callouses and blisters on your fingers, palms, feet from work. For work on the sea is anything but easy.
The sea has not been kind to you.
On occasion you find yourself with a strange, salty taste in your mouth. You used to know whether it was the ocean or your own tears. Your eyelashes freeze, yet you feel the most comfortable in the cold, or at least that’s what you’re telling yourself. You are very tired. Ever since hitting your ripe age of “too old to go to sea, but too young to retire properly” you took the toll of a lighthouse keeper. When you got here, it was supposed to be six weeks, with a young, scrappy helper that reminded you of yourself. Instead, he hung himself from the rope while he was supposed to be repainting the blistering white tower. Maybe he hated you. It wouldn’t surprise you, although it’s the first time anybody has taken their own life just to get away from you. You didn’t know him, yet you feel immense sorrow. Perhaps you were being too parental. You do tend to get attached.
The world has not been kind to you.
You never really knew your mother, she left before you were ten, and your father was colder than the ocean himself. Yes, you tend to refer to inanimate objects as “him,” but those rich men call their boats “her,” so who are they to judge? Though, perhaps it is because they see you as a predator, an animal itching to get its hands on any man it can find. But that’s not what you want. What you do want, you’re not sure, but it wouldn’t be just any man, and it wouldn’t be just for sex, throwing yourself around dark alleyways like a London whore. Though, you are just as tired as they are. It was supposed to be six weeks.
You have resided here, alone and without rescue, for a year. You think.
Thankfully, you have enough food to last you another six months. There’s been no ship to come rescue you from this rock, perhaps they no longer have a need for lighthouses. Maybe those children with their inventions figured out how to navigate the sea blindfolded, backwards, and in the dark. but they wouldn’t just leave you here, right?
You decide not to think about it. Thankfully, you have a very worthwhile distraction.
Whilst searching through the house, you notice one of the floorboards sounds off when you step on it. It takes you about five minutes to crouch down to the floor, but in the end, it’s worth it. You knock on the floor. Sounds like normal. You move your scarred fist to the left, three raps following. Also normal. Left once more.
There it is. The knock is echoed slightly, the wood hollow underneath.
It takes you ten minutes to get up off the floor, but thankfully you have a newfound adrenaline. You hobble over to the toolshed outside.
You make a point of not looking to your right, knowing you will find some of the grisly remains of your crew-mate, your excitement giving you tunnel vision to the crowbar. You rush back and bend over, your back loudly protesting as you attempt to pry back the floorboard. One push. Then two. Then three.
With a loud crack, the board splinters away, revealing a small hole with a book inside. It appears to be a journal.
————————————————————————————
Though you eat dinner that night, your health is the furthest thing on your mind as you theorize what the book could be. A book of spells? A tale as old as time itself? Maybe just pretty pictures? Whatever it is, the fact that new information is occupying your head is enough.
When you finally get a chance to sit down and begin to read, you notice an important sentence on the front page:
“This journal belongs to: Gustaf Johansen.”
Well, whoever this Gustaf character is, you are sure to be fascinated by him!
————————————————————————————
January 12, 1792.
Today marks my first day on the sea. While I do admit that I may come down with a minor sickness, I still have faith in my comrades to help me, as I shall help them.
———————————————————————————
You scan the pages, word by word. It details six months of a life at sea, similar to yours. Gustaf is (allegedly) described by his friends as “a man with strength and beauty to rival Thor himself.” Though you doubt that description, you can’t help but entertain the handsome image.
He’s holding your hand, rubbing his thumb on the back of it. Smiling, he nestles his head between your head and shoulder.
You shake your head. It’s ridiculous, no one is coming to save you.
_________________
April 20, 1792.
I have been having frequent dreams of a place I have yet never seen. I find myself under the ocean surface, far from dry land. And yet, in the murky waters, I see a glowing, beautiful city.
——————-
That night, you have the same dream.
You don’t think anything of it.
You continue to read.
_____________________
May 2, 1792.
The dream has come again, but now I hear a chorus of people. Or perhaps, not people, but simply voices. They speak in a language I do not recognize, yet still understand. They speak of the coming of a god, a Great Old One.
They call this being Cthulhu.
—————
Underneath the entry,  a sentence, phrase, or paragraph in an unknown language, presumably the one from the dreams, is written. It is a terrible mess of consonants and apostrophes. Though, it is still somewhat readable. Your pronunciation is messy, but you get through it.
Mggoka'ai ya, throdog gn'th
nog, uh'eog ot shugg
Y' nogephaii
nogephaii l' ya, gn'bthnknyth
nogephaii l' ya, orr'e
nogephaii l' ya, cthulhu
You finish the final syllable. Nothing happens.
In a burst of anger, you grab a flare from the supplies closet and walk out into the night.
Standing on the beach, you light the flare, waving it around. The sky is black, not a star in sight. “Please, help me!” you cry. “Please, anybody! I’m right here!” Tears burn your eyes and run down your cheeks. You muster all the strength in your lungs.
“I’M RIGHT HEREEE!!!”
With the final syllable, the ground shakes. Did somebody finally hear you? Are they coming to help you, after a lifetime of isolation?
It shakes again, your take a few steps to regain you balance.
Again. Your knees wobble.
Again. You fall, and a great deal of pain does not fill your body. In fact, you feel a great sense of rejuvenation in your bones.
Again. You manage to get up, seeing bubbles on the ocean surface.
Slowly, a mixture of flesh and scales emerges from the sea. Two sets of burning red eyes lie below. A strange beard of tentacles. A hugely muscled body with miles-wide wings. And when he speaks, you feel it in your chest.
“I do not recognize you, my beloved.”
You stare in fear, the flare still belching smoke.
“Lovely mortal, fear not. My beloved, Gustaf, had the most beautiful soul.”
The tentacles on his face gently wrap around you and lift you up. You find yourself between his eyes.
“You have that same soul deep within you.”
You begin to cry once more. The tentacles are surprisingly not as freezing as you thought they would. Instead, they fill your body with loving warmth.
“I-I apologize.” You say. “I have not been held like this since…”
You look back on your life, quickly.
“No one has ever held me like this,” you admit. Your voice is small, lost, broken.
“Then I am honored to be the first.”
His centuries-deep voice is filled with love. He speaks your name softly.
“Wouldst thou like to experience the pleasure of a god?”
“Yes,” you whisper desperately. You quickly unbutton your shirt, but the tentacles take care of your clothes for you. He laughs like rolling thunder.
He devours you, body and soul.

Dynamene, youngest of the 50 Nereids, has lived most of her adolescence as a servant alongside her sisters at Poseidon’s palace. But with her coming-of-age birthday and other developments, what she initially thought was just admiration of her master blossoms into something stronger and more passionate… and painful. Loving someone like Poseidon is not easy period, let alone as your first love. But Dynamene is young and naïve, and all she wants is a chance to be at the sea god’s side.
Categories and warnings: Romance, angst, unrequited love, coming-of-age, earn-your-happy-ending, slow-burn (ish); no sexual content. There will be some graphic violence in the future.

"Anything?" Poseidon growled lowly at the sailfish that approached him gingerly.
"No, my lord," the sailfish squeaked. "I'm deeply sorry. There has been no sighting of her." It's fins fluttered anxiously.
"Search again. No one rests until she is found. No one."
"Of course, my lord." The sailfish jetted hastily back out into the sea.
Poseidon exhaled through his nose in frustration. It had been hours since he had received word that Dynamene had run away, and there was still no clue as to where she might have gone. He himself was checking all the spots he knew the Nereids frequented near the palace, but they had all come up empty-handed. He was running out of patience. The Nereids that had stayed behind from the trip to their family home had all scattered out into the ocean as well, searching every spot they could think of that Dynamene might have gone too. It frustrated him to think that there were places she liked to visit that he didn't know about, but he snapped at himself for this. Now isn't the time.
He surfaced quickly back at the palace's beach, ocean droplets running off his body as he strode without a break in his pace from the water onto the sand. The preliminary search was turning up empty-handed. Now it was time to look deeper for clues as to where she might be.
He walked the palace halls towards her room, boots clicking heavily. He doubted anything about her escape was premeditated, but it might hold some clue as to where she might have gone.
Once he reached her door, he paused. The door creaked open before him, as if inviting him in. He'd never stepped foot in her room before, and to do so now felt almost invasive. Preposterous, he thought to himself. This is my palace, and this room belongs to me. He entered without a second more of hesitation.
It was strange to think that in the past thousand years, he'd never been in this room.
He approached the boudoir first. There were no cosmetics or other care items on it, save for a single hairbrush and a few hair pins. Her bed was unmade, the blankets tossed hastily to one side. He could picture her the morning of their departure, rushing to get ready for the trip. It was an almost comical thought.
Taking a moment to slowly scan the room, he noticed a glimmer of something blue peeking out from under her pillow. Without hesitation, he flipped it over.
A thin blue satin box laid beneath.
He stared at it. It was the same box he had presented her the bracelet in. Had she been sleeping with it under her pillow all this time? Irrationally sentimental.
He replaced the pillow with more care than necessary.
How could he have known, all those years ago when the Nereids had first come to the palace, that something like this would happen? That the little girl who had shaken upon first introducing herself would someday look at him with unadulterated affection in her eyes instead of terror? He knew many people were drawn to the idea of being at his side. He had power in excess; something many were eager to get a taste of.
But Dynamene had no interest in or need of power. She came from a privileged family, and she led a charmed life. She was sheltered and naïve. Ulterior motives had no place in her pure, simple world. In her mind's eye, she saw him only as a figure of romance. What a sight that must be, he pondered. Trying to imagine himself through the view of an infatuated adolescent girl made his lip curl.
But as misled as her affections might be, they were genuine. She was concerned for him. She wanted to talk to him. She took every chance to catch a glimpse of him. And he had no idea how to respond to it.
No, he was lying to himself. He was already responding in his own way; giving her gifts, entertaining her attempts at conversation, and spending time with her. He was unconsciously encouraging her feelings. But why?
He thought of her wide gray eyes, and how they seemed to hold nothing but love and earnest desire when she stared at him. He'd never seen such a look in anyone else's gaze before. Not for him. It was new, and strange, and all for him. He didn't want her feelings to belong to anyone else. He wanted to matter the most to her. And at the moment, the sun rose and set over him in her eyes.
But things couldn't continue the way they were, in this strange limbo. What would her family do? After this disaster, there was no way they would approve of her staying at his palace. At least, not her sisters. Her parents might be another story. If he gave them his word that he would not harm her... Well, how could they refuse him, anyway? Dynamene already more-or-less belonged to him. The moment her parents had released her to his custody, she had become his. Any show of her still belonging to her parents' house was superficial. They had no power to go against his desires. He was Poseidon, one of the most powerful of Olympus. They were inconsequential in comparison.
Pulling himself out of his thoughts, he felt a faint hum of power coming from somewhere else in the room. His eyes narrowed. The sensation was faint, but insistent - it could only belong to that of an Olympian. There was something in this room that had been imbued with power by an Olympian other than himself.
He quickly honed in on the source; the tall dresser directly across from her bed. He strode to it rapidly and pulled out the bottom drawer.
Tucked in a heap of fabric was a golden pomegranate, faintly glowing with godly power. He grit his teeth, immediately recognizing the power's signature as belonging to Hera. What was an item imbued with Hera's power doing in Dynamene's room? He lifted it with one hand, examining it thoroughly. It appeared to be a blessing of some sort; she must have given it to Dynamene during her recent visit.
He swallowed hard, anger rising once again. If she had anything to do with Dynamene's disappearance, she would find herself meeting the same end as their worthless brother, relations with Zeus be damned. The pomegranate formed a faint crack on its gilded surface; he was squeezing it too tightly in his rage. He replaced it back in the dresser for now. Dynamene had chosen to keep it hidden for some reason, but why, he had no idea. Only Hera was able to answer the questions he had now, but he couldn't leave for Olympus when Dynamene was still missing. Finding her took priority; interrogations could wait until later.
Besides, he was no idiot. Why would Hera have given Dynamene, who was so enamored with him, a blessing, if not to push her into a relationship with him somehow?
He pushed his anger to the back of his mind for now. He had to find Dynamene first. He would sate his wrath later.
Pulling himself back together, he left her room. He had to return to the beach. If need be, he was going to search the whole ocean himself.
Author’s Notes: Poseidon is such a strange guy.
You know, I was thinking... If he was perfect and completely steadfast in his beliefs, would Sasaki's taunts have gotten to him? Naw. Poseidon is just a superpowered man chasing perfection, and unable to live up to his own ideals. That's a little tragic. Of course, doesn't make him any less messed up. But determination is sexy. I wonder where those ideals came from anyway, that gods should be perfect and this and that? None of the other gods around him his whole life were perfect. Maybe just an excuse for his own superiority complex? Or is he a deeply insecure individual deep down? Gahhhh the world will never know.

“Hey, dont touch fathers weapons.” Masaru warned his son, Katsuki looked at his father with his crimson eyes then grabbed the base of his fathers sword, Masaru immediately took it from him and he started to scream. “What is he screaming for?!” Mitsuki came with a tray in her hands, Katsuki was only 3 but he was aggressive and hyperactive. She made him sat on her lap then gave a toy bow with a fake arrow. He stared at his toys with curious eyes and started to grin, he let out a cute pleased scream then started to swing the arrow in the air. Masaru sighed and took a cup of tea from the tray “He is only three but acts like a warrior.”  Mitsuki laughed and looked at his son “He is going to be the leader of our clan, of course he needs to act like a warrior.” Masaru was the current clan leader and despite his calm personality he was talented and successful. The leader of the clans house were always at the top of the mountain it was a tradition and that made them see the tents and the people of their clan clearly. They were living in a forest with full of rivers and waterfalls and Masaru’s clan was the strongest clan of the century, then there were kingdoms such as Marina, Metalia, Aros and Kagaku these kingdoms were the well known ones and Marina was the strongest of them all. Marina kingdom represented ‘water’ and they were pretty popular with their big ships and sea trades, their current king Seiji had a strong water quirk, he was married to a beautiful woman named Adelina and her quirk was strategy. Adelina was a part of a water clan called ‘Helen’ in the past and her clan was a big enemy of Marina kingdom. Then she fell in love with Seiji and when Seiji fell for her, they decided to end the rivalry and hate with getting married. Helen clan become a part of the Marina kingdom and they lived in harmony. Seiji’s kingdom was in good terms with Masaru’s clan, they were allies and friends. Even Marina looked like it didnt had any problems Seiji’s younger brother Kaito, wanted his son to become the leader after Seiji, he was only 5 but they were planning to make him the leader when Seiji got too old to rule, on the other hand Adelina wanted her 3 year old daughter Y/n to take the throne after his father.  Adelina’s brother Elijah, protected his niece from her greedy and heartless uncle Kaito. Seiji wanted his own daughter to rule the country but his brother were keep telling him that having Adelina’s daughter as a queen would be the same thing as wounding their pride since she was a Helen member at the past. Seiji was pretty mad about his brothers opinion, Adelina was his wife and that made her the queen of Marina.
-
When the night came, Marina castle was filled with busy servants they were preparing a big dinner table, usually it was just the king, queen and their 3 year old princess, but today there were going to be Adelina’s parents, sir Elijah with his wife and ofc sir Kaito with his wife and 5 year old son. Adelina was so nervous, she didnt like Kaito one bit and she was sure that he was going to say stupid stuff to offend her. The purpose of this dinner was to talk about the future of Marina and she knew that the throne topic was going to pop up, her daughter was going to be in danger, she quickly walked towards the guest room that his brother was sleeping in. Elijah quickly got up and bowed, then Adelina started to talk “Brother, i have this weird feeling in me and im sure that Kaito is planning something dirty. If you notice something odd tonight, grab Y/n and take her to the Dragon clan.” Elijah frowned. “Dragon clan? The one ruled by Masaru?” she nodded, Elijah was confused, how could a dragon clan was going to help them? “I know what you are thinking Elijah but Masaru is our friend and ally besides, Dragon clan has the best fighting techniques and weapons. They are living in the deep forest so my daughter is going to be safe.” She put a hand on his brothers shoulder and they both nodded. When everyone gathered around the dinner table Y/n was sitting on her mothers lap, her grandmother quickly sat next to her mother and helped her feed the girl. Seiji came with his father- in- law and Elijah, they were having a pleasant conversation then the doors of the dining room opened and Kaito appeared with his family, everyone frowned except Seiji. “Good evening, brother.” Kaito bowed and Seiji smiled. When they all started to eat the tension was thick. Kaito ended the silence with a cough and turned to his big brother “Brother, are we going to talk about the next leader of our kingdom?” Adelina quickly took a deep breath and looked at Elijah he had a frown on his face. Seiji answered “Why are you so concerned about this topic, im still alive arent i ?” Kaito saw the serious face of his brother and quickly laughed to ease the tension. “Oh brother, you are a great leader and you know that i adore you but we need to organise everything for our kingdom.” At this rate, Elijah was furious he quickly opened his mouth “Then i think having Y/n as the future leader would be the best option. Since she is the only child of Queen Adelina and King Seiji.” Kaito snorted and answered “Being the only kid of the queen and king is not enough and since Y/n is female having a male leader would be more to our advantage.” Adelina gave a death glare towards his direction even Seiji started to lose his temper. “What do you mean by that Kaito?” Seiji raised his voice, everyone was scared of Seiji’s serious self so Kaito quickly started to explain himself. “Y/n is going to be a smart and strong princess and i have no doubt about that but we are educating our son Rei for the sake of our kingdom.” *so this was his aim huh* Seiji thought. “My first priority is my daughter.” This was Seiji’s last words and it shut him up. Adelina catched Kaito looking at her daughter with cold eyes, she quickly gave Elijah a signal and Elijah cleared his throat “If you excuse me sir, i would like to rest.” Seiji quickly nodded “Of course Elijah, good evening.” Elijah, disappeared and Adelina quickly kissed her daughters forehead, she didnt wanted to get separated from her one and only child but if it meant to keep her safe then she was going to do it. “Please take Y/n to her room she needs to sleep.” She gave a signal to the maid and the maid nodded “As you wish, queen Adelina.” The maid quickly took Y/n and left. When the maid turned the corner she saw Elijah and bowed “Sir Elijah, your horse is ready.” Elijah took his niece and thanked the maid. He quickly got on his horse and left without a word. He saw the gates of the palace and the guards stopped him. “Sir Elijah? Everything okay?” he took a deep breath and hid his niece under his long cloak. “Im going to get some fresh air, now open the door.” The guard nodded and they opened the big gates of the palace, he quickly dashed towards the forest and after 20 minutes he saw the campfires and tents, it was the dragon clan. He continued to follow the river and found the big waterfall, when he reached the top of the mountain, he saw a big house made by strong and brown woods. The guards in front of the house quickly spotted him and shouted “Who is it?” Elijah gave a sigh of relief and replied. “Im from the Marina kingdom, im queen Adelina’s younger brother sir Elijah and i want to see leader Masaru!” The guard quickly got in the big house, after 5 minutes he came back “This way sir Elijah.”
-
Masaru was confused, he didnt expect to have a guest this late especially from his friends kingdom. The guard slided the door open and Elijah appeared, Masaru quickly got up and they both bowed. “Sir Elijah, i hope everything is okay?” he asked, Mitsuki was sitting behind his husband, she noticed the worry in Elijah’s face. Elijah quickly took off his cloak and they saw a baby in his arms, Mitsuki’s eyes widened. “Is that, princess Y/n?” she asked and Elijah nodded. “Let me explain leader Masaru.” Elijah started and smiled at his niece, she was sleeping peacefully. “Kaito, Seiji’s brother… He is trying to kill Y/n, he wants his son to take the throne but Adelina and Seiji is against the idea. I heard his personal butler talking, he was going to posion Y/n tonight. I didnt told Adelina what i heard, i didnt wanted her to panic.” Mitsuki silently gasped and Masaru furrowed his brows. “What can we do to help?” he asked, Elijah took a deep breath “We know this is too much to ask but can you keep the princess? Seiji doesnt know about this only me, the queen and her personal maid. We cant teach her how to fight, we can only educate her about politics, she needs to learn to defend herself please make her a warrior leader Masaru, we cant trust anyone else. On her 18th birthday im gonna come and take her back.” He bowed. Masaru looked at Y/n’s face, she was an innocent soul, rejecting her would be cruel, he loved Seiji and respected him as a friend. He looked at his wife and silently asked for permission when Mitsuki nodded he smiled and turned to Elijah “We are going to take care of her sir Elijah and we are going to hide her real identity from everyone, even from our son.” Elijah thanked and bowed “If you excuse me i need to return to the palace quickly, we dont know what Kaito is planning.” Masaru nodded, Elijah quickly got on his horse and left. When he left Masaru returned and saw Mitsuki holding Y/n in her arms. “How could they do something like this?!” Mitsuki was so mad, Masaru quickly shook his head and aswered “Kingdom games… They are always dirty.” Mitsuki sighed and opened her mouth “What are we gonna tell Katsuki, what are we gonna tell our clan? Y/n looks different from us even her aura is different.” Masaru looked at the little girl’s face and rubbed his chin “While i was hunting in the forest, i heard little cries and found a little girl by the river, thats what we are going to tell everyone including our son. But Katsuki should know Y/n’s given name, only us can call her Y/n. We gonna tell the clan that we named her ‘Ena’.” Mitsuki raised an eyebrow “Ena? That name means… Gift from god?” Masaru nodded and looked at the little girl “Yeah, it does. We respect nature and even Elijah brought her here its still because of the nature and fate, she is a gift from god.”
-
The cool air made Elijah’s face froze but he needed to go to the palace, her sister and the throne was in danger. Then he felt like he was being watched, he quickly stopped and shouted “Who’s there?” Then a group of men appeared, when he recognised what they were wearing he was speechles, they were Kaito’s men. “Where is the princess?” A man asked and Elijah scoffed “She’s already in a carriage which is going to a another kingdom.” The man started to ran towards him with his sword and Elijah quickly wounded him, he was a skilled man but they were crowded so he quickly counted them, there were eight people in front of him and he was alone. “You seriously came here with eight people?” Elijah laughed but the man smirked and quickly responded. “Actually nine people sir Elijah, we cant beat you with close combat but…” Then Elijah felt a sharp pain in his chest, when he quickly looked at his torso, he saw an arrow inside of him. “You cant notice an archer in the dark now am i wrong?” Elijah’s vision blurred and he fell from his horse...
-
When the morning came Katsuki quickly got up from his mattress and dashed towards his parents room, he quickly took a deep breath and screamed “AAAAAH!” This was his way of waking people up. His father groaned and opened his eyes, Katsuki was about to jump on them but when he saw a little girl laying beside his parents in a pastel pink mattress, he quickly stopped. The girl slowly opened her e/c eyes and they met with crimson ones. “Who… who?” She couldnt understand where she was, Masaru saw the confusion on her face and felt bad. Poor princess, clueless about everything… Mitsuki was wide awake and she quickly pulled Y/n towards her lap. “Katsuki, say hello to Y/n, she is going to stay with us from now on, you got yourself a new friend!” The little girl was confused, she was only three and her memories were not that strong compared to an adult but she knew that this wasnt her home. “Where… am… i?” Mitsuki quickly shoot his husband a panicked look and Masaru started to explain. “Y/n we found you in the forest… We are going to be your family from now on, im the leader of the Dragon clan and you are going to be my daughter. But our clan is going to call you ‘Ena’ the only ones who allowed to call you Y/n is us, understand?” The girl was even more confused… Something was missing, the warmth of a woman, the love of a certain woman, her mother. “Momma?” she quickly started to look around and Mitsuki felt disgusting, lying to a little pure soul was cruel, she quickly squeezed her “No sweety, momma is here look at me.” Katsuki was dumbfounded, what was going on? Then Y/n started to cry and Mitsuki tried to calm her down, Masaru took Katsuki’s hand and dragged him towards their big garden. He looked at his son and saw the frown on his face, he opened his mouth “Son, you are going to be a strong leader when you grow up. We need to help those in need, thats what leaders do. So i want you to be Y/n’s friend, can you do that for me, strong leader Katsuki?” Katsuki’s eyes shined with determination and he nodded. After twenty minutes Y/n came with Mitsuki, she was holding her hand. Mitsuki gently pushed Y/n towards Katsuki and waited for them to interact. Katsuki looked at his father and his father nodded while giving him an encouraging smile. Katsuki quickly took his fake sword that made from wood and handed to Y/n, she looked at him and hesitantly took it. Then Katsuki grabbed his bow and arrow. “Lets play!” he was trying to make her feel relaxed. Then her face lit up a little and she nodded, after thirty minutes they were playing, screaming and running around. Masaru and Mitsuki were watching them with small smiles on their faces then Mitsuki turned towards her husband and asked “ What if she doesnt forget about her parents? I know she is three and her memories are kinda temporary but any child can feel the absence of their mothers presence, I feel terrible Masaru.” He patted her back and looked her in the eyes “She is going to forget and this is for her sake, we are trying to help the Marina kingdom.” She sighed and nodded. “Besides, look at Katsuki he looks happy with a friend.” Masaru continued “Even he treats the other kids roughly i talked with him and he is being considerate.” He looked at his son, he was laughing while chasing Y/n. Mitsuki watched the kids and sighed “I hope we can protect her…”

One year later
“Woah Katsuki, your quirk is so cool!” You chimed and Katsuki smirked “Of course it is! I just got my quirk but wait and see im gonna be the strongest person in the clan!” you smiled and nodded “You are already the strongest!” Your words boosted his ego and he started to make bigger explosions in his hands. You didnt know what your quirk was, Katsuki got his and it was so cool! But you felt a little sad, you wanted a strong quirk just like his. Masaru immediately called a doctor and they made some test on you when they called Masaru, they told him that you had an Iq and strategy quirk. Having an Iq and strategy quirk is going to be so useful for you, it was going to help you calculate every move of your enemy in close combat or politics. When Masaru and Mitsuki first told you about your quirk you couldnt understand it clearly but one day when you were playing with Bakugou he started to chase you and sent you one of his explosions, you dodged it pretty easily, you started to see clearly and you felt like you were solving formulas in your brain. “Your quirk is not that useless Y/n!” Katsuki shouted with a smirk on his face, you smiled “Thank you, Katsuki!” when he was about to catch you Mitsuki called you both “Y/n, Katsuki! Your tutor is here, come on.” He huffed and replied “Fine! But we are not done Y/n, lets continue playing!” you nodded and gave him a toothy grin. After the lessons, you took a walk in the clan with mother Mitsuki and Katsuki, Katsuki was keep running here and there but you were shy, everyone was smiling at you and complimenting you, you squeezed your mothers hand and she patted your head “Katsuki! Hold Y/n’s hand!” she whisper shouted, she didnt wanted anyone to hear your given name, the rumors about the Marina kingdoms lost princess were everywhere so she didnt wanted people to become suspicious. Katsuki huffed and looked at you “Come on, Ena!” he quickly grabbed your hand and started to run. You were still uneasy with your nickname ‘Ena’ you couldnt understand why they called you with that name when you were outside of the Bakugou house but you knew that they were trying to protect you from something. “BAKUGOU! ENA!” Both of you heard an excited voice and when you turned around you saw Kirishima, he was holding a fake sword in his hand “Kirishima!” you smiled and your hold loosened on Katsuki’s hand, Kirishima quickly approached you both and started to tell you about his newly found quirk. “Woah! Thats amazing!” you clapped your hands and Katsuki snorted “Still! Im stronger than anyone!” Kirishima pouted and you laughed. Then Mitsuki called “Katsuki, Y- i mean Ena! Lets go, i want to have a picnic while watching the waterfall.” You pouted and Bakugou sighed, you wanted to play with your friends and both of them felt the same so Mitsuki invited Kirishima, the three of you started to ran towards the forest. You crossed the stone bridge while admiring the river and started to walk deep into the forest. Then you felt weird, it was… nostalgic. You rarely left the Bakugou house so the unusual feeling scared you, you stopped walking, Katsuki and Kirishima looked at you with confusion. “Hey! Ena come on!” Katsuki shouted but you were looking around. The feeling of a certain person, no… A man? Mitsuki managed to catch up with the three of you and saw the expression on your face “Ena? Whats wrong?” You started to run towards the waterfall and the three of them followed you, when you reached the waterfall, the feeling only grew stronger. “A man… A horse…” you started to mutter. “Ena, are you okay?” Kirishima called out to you while trying to catch his breath, you were too fast. “Ena…?” Mitsuki approached and patted your head. “Momma… Did father found me right here?” Her eyes widened *Oh no, dejavu…* she thought and cleared her throat. “No honey, he found you by the river.” You looked at her face *Momma, is lying…* you thought, your quirk was Iq  after all. Observing people and figuring them out was an easy task for you. *Is momma lying because… she wants to keep me safe?* “Ok momma… Then lets have our picnic!” You smiled and she gave a sigh of relief, your mood quickly changed and you didnt thought much about it, you were just four years old.

Eight years later
You and Katsuki were twelve now, he was always aggressive, competitive and rough while you were kind, calm and friendly. You and Kirishima were the only ones he considered real ‘friends’. Both of you were always taking lessons and having private training sessions. Bakugou was going to be the future leader of the clan. But you never understood what were you going to be… When your training session ended you decided to take a walk in the forest. “What… am i going to be? Who am i? Father Masaru always tells me that im a gift from the nature but am i a princess, a witch, a fairy? Everything im learning is too easy for me…” While you were muttering someone approached you from behind and just when you were about to turn around- “BOO!” Katsuki shouted and you looked at him, emotionless. “Wha- are you dead or something?!” You dropped the emotionless look and started to laugh “Dead? Ahahaha! Katsuki you are the only one who approaches me and tries to scare me all the time, im used to it!” Although you grow up together, Katsuki never saw you as his sister and it was the same for you, he was your first friend and you were his only female friend. He never told you but he really cared about you. You were always with him from the start, when he got his quirk you were the one who witnessed it first, when he got in trouble for stealing the apples in the kitchen you were his partner in crime, you were his training partner, his friend. When you were having trouble about sleeping because of your nightmares he always came and sat beside you till you fall asleep, when you felt lonely he tried to cheer you up in his own ‘Bakugou way’ you were the child of nature, a gift from god, his friend that god sent. “What are you doing here Y/n, you gonna get lost or something.” He huffed and you snorted “The child of nature getting lost in the forest? Come on Katsuki! Besides my power is Iq and strategy remember? Even if i get lost, i can easily survive!” he shuffled your hair “Whatever! Lets go before our old hag starts to look for us.” You rolled your eyes “She is your hag not mine, so… Bye!” You started to run into the forest and he shouted “Hey! Come back here!” He started to chase you, but you were fast so he used his explosions to get close to you, just when he was about to grab your arm you quickly jumped, grabbed a branch and climbed, he missed “Oi! Y/n, what are you doing?!” You were laughing like crazy, then he lost the sight of you “Y/n!” He called but there was no sound *There is only one place…* he thought, then started to run towards the waterfall. “Finally Katsuki, you are too slow!” He saw you, standing on the top of the waterfall gettin help from the big rock underneath you for balance. “What are you doing, dumbass?” He shouted but you didnt heard him because of the waterfall. Then you smirked and motioned him to come, he quickly used his explosions to fly and landed on the ground. “Y/n, you are gonna slip dumbass come here!” You shook your head “Nope!” Then you jumped. His eyes were wide, he knew that nothing was gonna happen but when he didnt saw your frame, he panicked “Y/n!” he waited but it was just the big roar of the waterfall and the big steam. He immediately jumped, his fall was rough and he swallowed a little bit of water. “Y/n?!” He was looking around then he felt little arms wrapping around his shoulders “Boo! Hehehe got you, Katsuki.” He jumped and turned to see your wet hair and shiny eyes. “Idiot! What were you thinking?!” he screamed and your eyes widened, he was an adventurous guy, why was he acting like an old man? “Katsuki? Were you… worried about me?” You asked and he avoided your gaze “Tch.” you smiled “Awww, you are the best!” you squeezed him and he pushed you “Hold onto me, im taking us out, im all wet because of you!” He tried to create explosions but it was hard when he was in the water, he managed to get the both of you out and dragged you towards the house.

Three years later
“Oi Y/n, wake up dumbass!” No matter how many times that you told him to knock, he didnt give a damn and barged into your room, like always. When he saw you, he regretted his action but it was too late. “K-katsuki?! GET OUT!” You were in your ladylike udergarments, your hair was messy just from waking up and your cheeks were now as red as Kirishima’s hair, thanks to him. His face turned red and he slammed the door shut. “I ALWAYS TELL YOU TO KNOCK!” You shouted “WHATEVER!” He shouted back and ran towards to the backyard just when he was about to open the door, his father appeared and smiled “Good morning, son.” But when he saw Katsuki’s face, he was confused. “Are you okay?” He avoided his father “Im gonna run!” and quickly left the house. When you heard him leave you slowly got out and found Mitsuki sitting on the front porch. “Mother Mitsuki, can we talk?” She turned around and saw your flushed face “Y/n, do you have a fever?” You quickly shook your head and sat next to her. “M-mother Mitsuki, Katsuki always barges into my room without knocking and… im a little uncomfortable.” she immediately understand what you were trying to say and sighed. “Both of you are growing up Y/n but men cant realise things unless you tell them, dont worry i will talk to him, stupid kid where are his manners.” She sighed and you smiled “ N-no mother Mitsuki, please dont be mad at him i just want him to understand that we are not kids anymore.” She patted your shoulder and giggled. “Yeah, you guys grew up together so he still thinks that he can have a bath with you.” Your face was burning up, when you were five, you always took a bath with Katsuki. “M-mother!” you covered your face and Mitsuki laughed.
-
Katsuki was running like a mad wolf, he was sweaty and tired but he felt alive, he used his explosions to fly and see the mesmerizing forest. It was fall so the red, orange and yellow trees looked more beautiful than ever. He immediately spotted the lake that he took his baths in and flew towards that direction. When he landed, he quickly kicked his boots and dipped his toes into the water, then he started to look around, your flustered and half naked image was still in his mind. “Dumbass.” His ears turned red and he quickly washed his face with the fresh water. He closed his eyes and tried to calm down but your red cheeks were still there… “I should hunt.” Hunting was one of his favourite activities, he felt strong, chasing his prey and finally managing to catch, the feeling of victory always lifted his spirits. So he stood up and set up a small trap and started to wait...
Katsuki managed to catch four rabbits and when he reached his house, he had a victorious smirk on his face when he was about to head inside, he saw you. You were training with one of the strongest archers in the clan. “Ok Y/n do it like i taught you.” You closed your left eye and took a deep breath, when you let it go you managed to hit the little red mark that your teacher drew. “Good job Y/n! If you continue to train like this, im going to teach you to how to shoot things while riding a horse then a dragon.” Your eyes lit up and you bowed “Thank you, sir!” he laughed and patted your head. “You are gonna be the best female archer in this clan, trust me!” his words encouraged you and you took a new arrow. “Ok! Now i want you to shoot the moving apple. If you can shoot moving things that means you are ready to ride an animal while using a bow.” You nodded and looked at the swinging apple, it was attached to a rope. Bakugou watched you silently, he didnt wanted to distract you, he always admired the you on the training grounds. Serious, determined, stubborn, most of the girls in the clan were busy with collecting stones and making necklaces, feeding the dragons, the sheeps or sewing clothes. “Focus, Y/n.” the instructors words interrupted his thoughts and he stared at your form, you pulled the string, slowly inhaled and exhaled, then… “Good job Y/n!” The instructor clapped and you grinned “I did it, sir!” There was an arrow with blue feathers in the middle of the apple. “Keep practising Y/n, if you manage to shoot the moving targets on our next lesson, you are going to train on a horse.” You bowed and thanked him, when he left you grabbed three new apples and tied them with a rope, Bakugou was still behind you and he was watching. *Lets see if it was just luck or not* he thought. In the blink of an eye you shoot the first one then you quickly aimed for the second one and shooted it. Now you were looking at the third apple, it was still swinging. *Left, right, left… right* You closed your left eye and… *Now!* when you looked at the third apple, its other half was on the ground. “I did it!” you started to jump like a baby deer and Bakugou chuckled. “Guess you are not that bad, dumbass.” You immediately froze “K-katsuki? How long have you been there?!” Your cheeks started to burn. “Quite a while actually.” He smirked, you crossed your arms and pouted “Y-you surprised me.” The flustered look only made his smirk grow wider. “Yeah whatever, you are not that bad.” Your eyes met and you started to feel calmer “Thank you, Katsu.”

One year later
Katsuki was taking a walk in the clan, when he woke up he looked at your room but then Mitsuki told him that you left for training. “Dumbass Y/n, she is leaving on her own now huh...” He sighed. You made some crazy ass progress in a year, you were stronger and pretty good in combat, you were the best female archer in the clan. The young men of the clan were amazed by your skills, you were the center of attention and aside from your battle skills you were so beautiful and elegant at the same time. You looked different compared to the people in the dragon clan. You had only three or four female friends because most of the girls in the clan were jelaous of your skills and you being so close to the next leader, handsome and strong Katsuki. When Katsuki reached the battle area he saw you and a girl holding a silver sword in her hands. “Take this Ena!” She charged towards you but you quickly dodged and kicked her in the knees. %80 percent of the audience was male and all of their eyes were glued to the battle. “Ena-chan doesnt have a weapon and yet, she is beating her opponent up!” One of the males spoke up and his friends nodded. “Her quirk is so useful in battle but i wanna see her shoot targets while riding a dragon!” the third male spoke up “She is so beautiful and yet so strong, i wonder if she’s single?” Katsuki was tired of the fanboys’ conversation, he scoffed. “Bakubro!” Then he heard Kirishima’s voice and saw him waving with a big smile on his face, he started to walk towards the red haired boy “You can see the battle clearly from here, Bakubro.” Bakugou nodded “I guess.” Kiri was so hyped, he was keep moving his fists and shouting encouraging words to you “You are doing a good job Ena, keep going!” Katsuki snorted and turned towards his friend “Are you five or something, dont distract her.” While everyone was clapping and cheering, your mind was a mess *Dodge, left, right… Now a kick to her stomach! Oh, im doing pretty good. Looking at her position, im guessing she is going to attack my knees or my feet, i need to be careful.* You started to ran towards her, she bent down and tried to grab your legs but you quickly jumped and now her back was facing yours, you quickly spinned and kicked her back, she lost her balance and fell on her stomach. You immediately sat on her back and holded her wrists. The crowd was cheering like crazy “YOU ARE AMAZING ENA!” or “ENA WON!” your opponent stopped moving and said “I give up.” You quickly stood up, extended your hand and smiled “You are pretty strong.” She smiled back and grabbed your hand “Not as strong as you Ena-san.” When you were about to leave she called back “Say, Ena-san. Wanna take a bath together in the lake?” You turned and smiled “Sure, i forgot to ask what’s your name?” she replied “Shiniqua.”
-
“Wow Ena, you were amazing out there!” Kirishima shouted and you laughed “Thank you, Kiri.” Bakugou was silent, observing your messy hair and scratched cheeks but your voice interrupted him “How did i do, Katsuki?” You asked with a big grin and a glint of hope in your eyes. He stayed silent for a second and snorted “You are not dead so… It was alright.” You laughed and pinched his cheeks “Awww, thank you!” His cheeks started to turn red, he was going to be the leader after all, he needed to look scary and strong but here you were squeezing his cheeks like he was a toddler. “Hwey, oi! Stowp, hmpf!” He quickly grabbed your wrists and yanked them off but you and Kiri were still laughing. “We are gonna go hunting with some friends, wanna come Ena-chan?” Kiri asked but you shook your head “No, sorry Kiri. I need to take a bath, im so sweaty and dirty also some of my friends are waiting for me, Bye bye!” You waved and Kiri waved back but Bakugou was too busy with covering his red face.
-
“You were so cool out there Ena-chan!” Hana chimed, you were relaxing in the lake with some of the girls in the clan. Hana was the only close friend you had, well except for Bakugou and Kirishima. “Thank you Hana but Shiniqua was pretty talented dont you think?” Hana nodded but Shiniqua quickly shook her head “I have a lot to learn from you Ena-san!” you chatted about all kinds of things and the topic now was a classic one ‘boys’ “Sayyyy… Ena-chan, you are pretty close with Bakugou are you guys you know…?” A girl named Shiko started to speak and the other girls turned to you, your face started to heat up and you quickly shook your head “N-no of course not! Me and Bakugou are really close friends, almost like siblings, we grew up together!” Your usually calm and collected expression was now a mess so the girls started to wiggle their eyebrows and continued to tease you “Ah, stop teasing me!” you yelled and attacked the girls while all of you were laughing Shiko stopped moving and turned pale “G-girls?” All of you stopped and looked at her “Shiko-san whats wrong? Shiniqua asked and Shiko pointed towards a bush “T-there is someone watching us, the bush moved!” All of you panicked and the girls started to shout “Calm down everyone!” you tried to calm them down but they were busy searching for their towels, all of you immediately grabbed your towels and wrapped it around your bodies, the girls were screaming and all of them ran away. You were suspicious that it was a spy so you immediately ran towards your house to get help, Bakugou was taking a walk in the forest with Kirishima and two guys named Arata and Ryuu. They were one of the strongest guys in the clan and they respected Bakugou so much, aside from Kirishima they were the only guys he could work together with. “So, Bakugou? Are you gonna attend the training camp?” Ryuu asked “Why should i? Im already training with strong warriors.” He looked at the sky and back to Ryuu “I dont know man, it would be fun to attend together” Arata spoke up and Kirishima nodded. “Yeah Bakubro! Just consider-“ Kiri’s eyes widened and he froze the guys turned towards him and eyed him with concern, his face was red as his hair “Kirishima you okay man?” Arata followed Kirishima’s gaze and now he was red as a tomato “Holy…” Bakugou rose a brow and exchanged a look with Ryuu when they both turned to look at what their friends were looking at Bakugou almost had a heart attack “What the-?!” Here you were running towards them with a towel wrapped around your body with flushed cheeks and wet hair, half naked… Ryuu choked on his spit and Arata covered his face, Kiri was worried but also too shy to say anything and Bakugou… well Bakugou exe just stopped working. “Katsuki! We need help!” When he saw the worry in your eyes he tried to focus but you grabbed his arm and pulled it towards your chest. He was too stunned to yank it off so he stared blankly at you. “Katsuki! Are you listening to me? I guess there is a spy in the forest!” Now all of them were alarmed and understood how serious the situation was. “A what?” He finally managed to answer “A spy, Katsuki! When we were relaxing in the lake one of the girls saw something behind a bush and all of them ran away, i didnt saw anyone but wanted to make sure so i came here to get some help!” A nasty scowl formed on his face and he straightened. “Lets go check it out then.” “We are coming too!” Kiri spoke up and the other two nodded. Katsuki shook his head “No, one person is enough… Oi! Stop looking at her!” He scolded them, Ryuu started to bow and apologise while Arata turned away and muttered apologies with flushed cheeks and poor Kiri, he was too pure he kneeled in front of you and waited for your forgiveness.
-
“Ok now, where is our spy?” He whispered and you pointed towards the bush, he grabbed his sword and started to walk towards it, then… *Rustle rustle* You jumped and crossed your arms over your chest, Katsuki turned around and grabbed your wrist “Get behind me Y/n!” Normally you would fight with him but since you were naked, you obeyed. Then just when he was about to make a move a deer appeared and ran away “Ack!” You hid yourself behind Katsuki but he stopped. “Hah? So our dangerous spy was a deer?” You replied “A what?” He sighed and turned towards you “Y/n, that was a damn deer.” You gave a sigh of relief but he snorted “Seriously, you guys ran away because of a delicious meal?” You blushed and pouted “When they said that there was someone i panicked okay, how should’ve i known?!” Now you were trying to cover yourself while Katsuki was laughing his ass off. “Yeah whatever, miss WARRIOR.” You sighed and accepted defeat then you shivered and Katsuki noticed. “Here.” He dropped his fur coat over your shoulders and his warmth enveloped you. “You are a weird one you know that?” You raised and eyebrow and gasped “Excuse me?” He smirked but didnt wanted to argue “Arent you tired dumbass? Lets go.” You hummed in agreement and both of you started to walk towards the house.
-
“Mother Mitsuki, do you need help?” Mitsuki was peeling a potato while the servents were running back and forth for dinner preparations. “Oh, dont worry Y/n! The servents are working and dinner is almost done, you had training sessions in the morning right? Why dont you rest a little?” You bowed and thanked her “Hmm, what should i do? I dont wanna sleep… Ah! I know what to do.” You ran towards your room and grabbed some stones that you collected before. Then you sat at the wooden floor of the front porch and started to make a necklace from the red stones. “These red stones remind me of Katsuki’s eyes, maybe i should give this to him.” When the necklace was done it looked elegant and beautiful. “Wow, im proud of this.” You hummed and smiled “What are you proud of?” The voice made you jump and when you turned to look, you saw Katsuki standing behind you “O-oh, nothing!” You quickly hid the necklace, he didnt question you further and sat next to you “How you feeling?” he asked and you smiled “Im okay, thanks to you! I didnt catch a cold.” He nodded “Good.” You sat there in comfortable silence then you gave a side glance and saw Katsuki admiring the sky. You sighed then looked at him again, he was beautiful, a sharp jawline, crimson eyes and ash blond hair, he was just perfect. “Why are you looking at me like that idiot?” You jumped and started shook your head in a defensive way “U-uh, i wasnt looking at you!” Then he snorted “Yeah? I dont believe you.” you pouted “Stop teasing me, Katsuki!” You playfully hit his arm and he chuckled. “Whatever, lets go and eat.” He got up and you followed suit, you quickly sat down next to Katsuki and waited for his parents, when Masaru and Mitsuki appeared both of you gave a little bow and they smiled. The dinner was lovely both of them were kind and loving, if only they were your real parents… Katsuki ate quickly then cleared his throat “Im going.” Mitsuki looked at his son and asked “Where are you going at this hour?” He answered “Patrolling with Kirishima.” Just when he was about to leave the room, you spoke up “Can i come too?” He looked at you, confused. “Its late Y/n.” He replied but you wanted to join him, this was the perfect opportunity to give him the necklace that you made. “Please Katsuki, im not gonna be a burden i promise!” He sighed then his eyes met your shiny and hopeful ones “Fine…” You smiled and jumped from your seat “Yay!” Mitsuki and Masaru watched you both leave. “Im glad that they get along.” Mitsuki started and looked at his husband “Y/n seems happy and she is pretty succesful dont you think?” Masaru nodded “Besides, she is a pretty good friend.” Masaru looked at his wife and sighed “I hope they’ll stay friends.” Mitsuki raised a brow “What so you mean, Masaru?” Masaru pinched the bridge of his nose and continued “They are not kids anymore, Mitsuki. Y/n is a young lady now and Katsuki is not a little boy, their relationship is different now. Mutual respect, trust and something im scared of…” Mitsuki quickly shook her head “No, you must be mistaken Masaru, they grew up together!” “But that doesnt change the fact that they are both matured. Katsuki is careful around her, i know im not the most talktive one in the family but im a good observer.” Mitsuki looked at the tea cup in her hands and sighed...
-
“Bakubro you came! Oh? Ena-chan you came too?” You waved and smiled “Yeah, i was bored and wanted to tag along. I hope i didnt ruined your ‘bro’ time.” He quickly shook his head with a serious expression “Of course not! I love Ena-chan, she is always welcome, right Bakubro?” Bakugou rolled his eyes “Hm.” Kirishima was one of the few people that posessed the ability to transform into a dragon so whenever Bakugou wanted to go on a patrol he always had Kiri with him. There were normal dragons in the clan but %3 of the clan posessed the dragon ability and all of them got trained for war. Kirishima was one of them and Bakugou always trusted him with his life even he didnt admitted it loudly. “What are you waiting for shitty hair, come on transform.” He quickly nodded and turned into a beautiful red dragon. Bakugou quickly hopped on his back and looked at you “Should i send an invitation? Hurry!” You huffed and grabbed his hand and now you were sitting on Kiri’s back, arms around Bakugou’s waist. Kirishima took of from the ground and your grip on Bakugou tightened. “Sorry, Bakugou...” you mumbled and hid your face in the fur around his shoulders. “Oi! Careful shitty hair, Ena is here too so control your speed.” Kirishima slowed down but your eyes were still squeezed shut “Come on dumbass open your eyes, this is not your first time riding a dragon.” You took deep breaths “Yeah but Kirishima is huge and he is faster than the other dragons!” Kirishima took that as a compliment and let out a pleased noise. After 15 minutes you were laughing like a five year old and enjoying the beautiful view then you remembered the necklace and straightened. “Katsuki, i made something for you.” He tensed up and started to listen, when he stayed silent you took that as a sign to continue “Its nothing much but i just want you to have it, you were my first friend after all.” Then he felt your small hands around his neck “Oi, what are you...?” when he felt the cold stones around his neck he turned his had trying to get a glimpse of you. “I collected these stones from the river, they were beautiful and the color reminded me of your eyes.” His heart was beating faster, he hated this feeling... “This is a thank you gift Katsuki. Thank you for being my friend when no one was there, i dont know where i came from, i dont know if i have parents or not, sometimes it wounds me but then i think of you and your family. Im so lucky to have you all in my life, i still dont know who i am but im gonna get strong and stay by your side when you become a leader.” His breath hitched in his throat, thats why he trusted you, you didnt had any connections with him from the start but you still become his friend, you created the connection with him and tried to get stronger to stay by his side. He took a deep breath and opened his mouth “It doesnt matter where you came from or who your parents are, it doesnt change the fact that you are strong thats how i see you. You are a part of this clan and nothing is going to change that, so you better get stronger and stay with me when i rule this clan.” Your eyes widened and cheeks darkened. You couldnt see his expression but he had a soft smile on his face, you tightened your hold around his waist and nodded.
-
“Oi dumbass, are you sleeping?” Your arms loosened their grip around him so he immediately grabbed both of your arms and you tried to reply but your eyelids were pretty heavy. “No...” Your breathing started to slow down and he sighed “Kirishima, we are landing.” Kirishima obeyed and tried to land softly as possible. When he managed to do it Bakugou turned towards you and your head collided with his chest. “What am i gonna do with you dumbass...” He started to take deep breaths and realised that he was inhaling your scent, he quickly shook his head and tried to wake you up “Oi, dummy wake up!” Your eyes fluttered open “Hah?! Oh, im sorry Katsuki.” He scowled and you got off of Kirishima, he transformed into his human form and looked at Bakugou mischievously. Bakugou glared at him and you yawned “Im sleepy, lets go...” You gave Kirishima a friendly hug and tugged at Bakugou’s cloak. “Lead us Lord Bakugou!” you laughed lazily and Kirishima grinned at you both. Bakugou grabbed your wrist and started to drag you, Kirishima smiled and whispered to himself “So he finally realised...”
-
Two years later
“Weak, harder!” Your lungs were burning up, sweat was dripping from your forehead and he was still energetic. Katsuki and you were training for two hours, he was pretty good at close combat so he wanted to show off by ‘teaching’ you some new moves. “Of course its weak! Im throwing hands with you for hours!” You yelled back and he snorted “You cant get stronger if you whine like a little brat.” He loved messing with you, he already knew that you were the strongest woman in the clan and you were just eighteen, he just wanted to show you his new technique but he was too shy to ask so training was a good excuse. “Katsuki please, im hungry!” He sighed and scratched his head “You stubborn woman... Fine!” After fifteen minutes you guys were walking side by side with meat buns in your hands. The shopkeepers were greeting you both with sincere smiles and bows. “Where are we going now Katsuki?” He looked around and turned to you “My dagger needs to be sharpened, we need to see Arata.” You smiled and nodded “Oh, its been a while since i saw Arata-san!” When you made it to the iron shop Arata greeted you with a confident smile “Ena-chan and Bakugou, what a good surprise!” Arata and Bakugou started to chat and you were watching the people of the clan work, then your eyes met with 3 pair of angry eyes. There were three girls eyeing you with an annoyed expression, first you didnt understand the reason but then it clicked *Ohhh right... They are jelaous bc im with Bakugou.* The ladies were crazy about Bakugou but he didnt looked at any of them, he was just too busy with training and other stuff, when you tried to brought it up he immediately changed the topic with an intense glare. “Oi, Ena we are leaving.” His voice interrupted your thoughts and you nodded.
-
Masaru was pacing back and forth in the garden, your 18th birthday was getting closer, he didnt wanted to hand you over to Elijah but he knew that you had responsibilities. “Five days... We have five days.” He murmured, normally he would be happy to celebrate your birthday but this was different, Mitsuki was the same, she didnt wanted you to leave and fight. You were like his own daughter and a part of the Bakugou family. Their minds drifted off to their son, he didnt had a clue. They didnt told anything to him, he was just like you, clueless... This remorse were going to be the end of them.
-
“Katsuki, w-wait!” You guys were running for ten minutes. When you left Arata’s iron shop, the girls of the clan started to gather around you both, Bakugou grabbed your wrist and started to run like a mad dog. You were tired of the chasing so you yanked him towards you and started to ran towards the girls “What are you doing shitty woman?!” You smirked and the girls looked at you with confusion, you ran into them like a bowling ball and knocked them off like bowling pins. Bakugou started to laugh and you shouted “Bakugou use your explosions!” He grabbed your waist and used his explosions to fly. When you lost the sight of the mad girls, both of you laughed “Why did you attacked them, dumbass?” You smirked and answered “They were sending me icy glares, i just needed revenge!” He snorted and both of you landed somewhere in the forest, when you took a look at your surroundings, you noticed the beatiful roses. “Katsuki, look!” You started to run towards the roses and he smiled to himself, you looked like a little girl. “I always saw the rose crowns but never had a chance to make them!” Bakugou looked at you with confusion “Rose what?” You smiled and started to explain with a goofy smile “Rose crowns! You know, the girls in the clan makes flower crowns from roses, sometimes they are red, white, pink or even orange!” He touched his red necklace that you made, your birthday was close so he wanted to make something for you, he bent down and started to pick up some white roses, you looked at him with confusion then he sat down and looked at you with an annoyed expression “Oi, are you gonna sit or what?” You sat down and started to watch him make a beautiful crown. He was the next leader he was a warrior and yet, his hands were skilled and careful on the roses. When he finished, he looked at the crown and hummed “Look.” You looked at his eyes and thats when you felt the warmth on your cheeks. He placed the crown on your head, you looked like a nature goddess. His cheeks turned pink and he averted his eyes “Happy early birthday...” He murmured and you looked at him with shiny eyes, smiling to yourself you decided to tease him “Whaaaa, i couldnt hear you Katsu?” The nickname made his heart stop, he grunted and looked at you with a frown “I know you heard it !” You laughed and replied “Ok ok, no need to be shy!” He growled and your laughter got louder. Then you looked at him with a sincere smile “Thank you, Katsuki.” You started to get closer and he gulped, why was he nervous? You gave him a tight hug and whispered “Thank you for being in my life Katsu.” His heart jumped and he inhaled your scent, this scent belonged to you... It was calming, soft, elegant. He wanted to return the hug but was too shy for it, so he slowly pulled back and you saw the tiny smile on his lips.
-
The evening came quickly and now you were having dinner with the Bakugou family, Mitsuki and Masaru were too quiet and Katsuki gave you a puzzled look. Just when you were about to open your mouth Masaru’s servent appeared and bowed “Leader Masaru, there is a woman wishing to see you.” Everyone in the table gave him a confused look and he got up, when you looked at mother Mitsuki, her expression was unreadable. After some time Masaru appeared with the woman and when her eyes landed on you she gasped. “Y/n!” Your eyes widened, only your father, mother and Katsuki knew your real name. Masaru saw the shocked expressions on yours and Katsuki’s face so he sat down and motioned her to sit. The woman’s eyes were glued to you and you felt nervous. Mitsuki’s hands were shaking but she tried to mask her anxiety. Something was very wrong, you were not dumb it was the opposite, your quirk was IQ and strategy and yet you were utterly confused. Masaru looked at Mitsuki and nodded “Y/n and Katsuki, we are gonna have a long talk.” Both of you looked at eachother, you gulped and met with the blonde’s ruby eyes, he sensed your anxiety and gave you a reassuring nod. “Y/n, this is Mrs. Kairi. Your uncle Elijah’s wife, in other words your aunt.” Your eyes widened and your face turned pale. Your aunt? Who? You had an uncle... You didnt had anyone, how was that possible? Katsuki was as shocked as you were, he looked at you for answers but when he saw your pale face, he closed his mouth and turned his eyes towards the woman. She gave you a sincere smile then Masaru continued “Y/n, i know its a lot to take in but fifteen years ago your uncle Elijah, your mothers brother gave you to us and left, it was all for your safety. Your other uncle Kaito tried to organise an assassination for you. He wanted his son to rule the Marina kingdom but your mother Adelina wanted you to lead and she wanted us to raise you.” Your mind was a mess, all the emotions came crashing down on you, you had a mother... You had a family, there were evil people like Kaito but it didnt matter, you had a family! Mitsuki got up from her seat and sat next to your other side, she squeezed you tight and you closed your eyes, silent tears started to fall and she patted your head, you were so happy that you had a real mother and you were happy about the fact that she tried to keep you safe by giving you to the Bakugou family but Mitsuki was the mother figure you always had and you were so grateful. Katsuki’s brain was the same, he was curious, excited and nervous. He was really happy about the fact that you had a family but he didnt know how you were feeling at the moment. Then Masaru turned towards your aunt and asked “Mrs. Kairi, its an honour to have you but i expected Sir Elijah on Y/n’s 18th birthday. Isnt it dangerous for you to come all the way here?” She gulped and the happiness in the room vanished. You looked at her, expectantly. She gulped and tears started to fall down from her face “When my husband Elijah gave Y/n to you. Kaito’s men attacked him and he...” She couldnt finish her sentence and started to cry, your eyes widened. Your uncle died while trying to save you, the guilt came crashing down on you and you got up from your seat everyone one looked at you with shocked expressions and you made your way towards your aunt, your forehead met with the floor and you bowed “I’m sorry!” Your voice was shaking but you didnt care. “I owe my life to uncle Elijah! I will take revenge!” Your voice cracked and you were a crying mess, your aunt patted your head and grabbed your hands, you saw the sad expression on her face, she cupped your cheeks and took a deep breath “Y/n... Your uncle was not the only one who got killed that night...” Your eyes widened and your body froze, Mitsuki gasped and Masaru were looking at your aunt with a pale face on the other hand Katsuki’s body was shaking. “Mrs. Kairi dont tell me that his father Seiji-” Kairi cut him off “No, the king is alive.” Relief washed over you but you remembered your mother and squeezed her hand “W-w-what about my mother, is she okay...?” Everyone were looking at her with hopeful eyes, when she bowed and sealed her mouth your body started to shake violently, tears were falling like rain droplets and your teeth were clashing. “Please tell me that my mother is okay!” You started to scream and your aunt started to tear up, you started to pull your hair, and shake your head. You couldnt accept the fact that your mother was gone, it couldnt be true, after all these years you found out that you had a family and now the precious people were already gone. “Kaito’s servant, poisoned her...” Her voice was shaking, she was having a hard time and you couldnt blame your aunt, it was traumatic. Then you felt your legs move by their own, you dashed towards the door and all you could hear was the muffled voices of Katsuki your step-parents and your aunt. You quickly grabbed a dragon and took off, you didnt had a clue about where you were going, you just wanted to run away from this nightmare “M-mom...” You closed your eyes and felt the warmth of a certain woman “Mom, is that you...?” The nostalgic feeling was too strong, it made your mind blurry. You decided to stop, you patted the dragon and it started to land. Now you were on top of a mountain, the dragon clan was still visible but it was far away. You layed on the grass and looked at the stars, the stars became blurry because of your tears, you wanted to wake up from this nightmare. Your mind drifted off to your father, you wondered how he was holding up, you knew that the demon, Kaito was still alive. Your blood started to boil, you were going to rip his head off and save the kingdom, you owed this to your lovely mother and uncle.
-
Katski watched Y/n’s breakdown with a sad expression and a broken heart. His strong, intelligent, optimistic and kind friend was having the worst day of her life. When you left he didnt think twice and followed you, first he thought of riding a dragon but you were already out of sight so he used his explosions to take off from the ground. Now he was looking around for the signs of you, he saw a campfire coming from the top of a mountain, it was far away but visible. So he decided to go there and when he saw you laying on the ground, he gave a sigh of relief. He sat next to you but you didnt reacted so he opened his mouth “Y/n.” The only answer he got was silence so he continued “I know its hard, i never lost someone important to me so the pain im feeling is nothing compared to yours but we are in this together, you are my... friend. We’ll fight together and save the throne from that bastard’s hands.” You sat up an your e/c eyes met his ruby ones, you never thought that Bakugou could be soft and follow you here. Your tears started to fall and you grabbed his neck, the sudden movement surprised him but when he felt your arms around his neck, his heart started to beat faster. “Katsu...” Your grip on him tightened and your tears fell to his shoulder. He inhaled your scent and held your waist. You were hugging him with full force “I dont wanna lose you too...” Your voice cracked and his grip tightened “I know you are strong and all but we dont know Kaito’s strenght.” He furrowed his brows and replied “So you expect me to let you leave, alone?” You tried to chuckle but your eyes felt heavy. “Katsu, I... I’m so lucky to have you in my life.” When he felt your body started to get heavier he didnt do anything to make you move, he wanted to feel your warmth. “Y/n, as long as we’re together, we’ll fight together.” You smiled and drifted to sleep, when he was sure that you were asleep he sighed and looked at the stars “As long as we’re together... I’ll be by your side.”
-
When the morning came Katsuki and Y/n took the map of the Marina Kingdom from Masaru’s archieve, her aunt stayed the night so they discussed about some important matters and Kairi promised to help them, with Kairi’s help it was going to be easy, they wanted to make a simple but useful plan so Y/n needed some strong men. She asked Bakugou for Kirishima, Arata and Ryuu’s help, Bakugou went to discuss the matter with them. Now Y/n was riding her dragon towards the Marina Kingdom it wasnt that far, she just wanted to steal a glance. When she saw the big palace and the beautiful water sources, her jaw dropped. The palace had an ocean and forest view, it was beautiful. Her heart ached, if only she grew up here... She shook her head and started to think about a strategy.

The boys were sitting at Arata’s iron shop, Bakugou told everything about Y/n, after he finished his friends were shocked “Ena-chan is what?!” Kirishima shouted, Bakugou gave him a death glare and growled “You want people to hear us shitty hair?!” Arata and Ryuu were shocked as Kirishima was but they decided to stay silent. “So you are telling me that Ena-chan’s real name is Y/n and she is the next heir of the Marina Kingdom, why didnt you tell me sooner?!” Eijiro was hurt, he thought that Bakugou and Y/n was his best friends. Bakugou scoffed and continued “I told you! They only told me her real name, i didnt know that she was a princess or something like that, Y/n and i just found out yesterday!” Arata scratched his head and interrupted “I’m sure she’s having a hard time...” Ryuu nodded and sighed “Poor, Y/n.” Eijiro felt sad, he wanted to see Y/n and make sure that she was okay, losing your mother was something terrifying. Bakugou sighed and looked at his friends “Its not easy but Y/n is not fragile, i know it.” They looked at Bakugou and saw the glint in his eyes, they smiled to each other and Eiji decided to lighten up the mood. “Lets save the throne! Then we will arrange the wedding!” Bakugou looked at him with confused eyes “What wedding?” He grinned and replied “Yours and Y/n’s!” Bakugou blushed but tried to mask it with shouting “WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!” Arata and Ryuu joined Kiri and continued to tease Bakugou.
-
When the evening came you called a meeting with the boys in the Bakugou household and all of them immediately came. “Y/n-chan!” You turned around, Kirishima was running towards you with open arms, your eyes softened and you ran into him arms. “Oi dont block the corridor!” Bakugou scolded you both but Kiri smiled and dragged you towards the meeting room. All of you discussed the important matters such as guards, servents and Kaito, Kairi came and gave you the map of the palace. “There’s going to be your birthday’s celebration in four days Y/n.” You looked at her with confusion and she continued “Your father Seiji, celebrates your birthday every year. He organises a big festival and prays for you to come home. Adelina didnt told him about you staying here.” Your eyes started to water “Father... How is he?” Kairi shook her head “After your disappearance he was crashed and your mother’s death made him sick. He is too exhausted to rule and now Kaito is responsible.” You clenched your teeth, that bastard took everything from you. Your friends sensed your dark aura and Kirishima patted your back, you gave him a tiny smile. “So in this organisation Seiji calls dancers, chefs, performers and musicians all of you can wear costumes and get in easily.” You nodded and turned to Ryuu “Ryuu can you find someone to make us costumes?” He nodded and you turned to Arata “Arata, can you make me a light but sharp dagger?” When Bakugou saw the cold look in your eyes he interrupted “You dont need a dagger, everyone has strong quirks and combat skills.” You shook your head and gave your final answer “I’m going to need it.”
-
The days passed quickly you were going to take your throne, tonight. Ryuu was busy with choosing the most strong dragons and gathering supplies and Arata was making weapons while Bakugou, you and Kiri worked on the strategy. The three of you were looking at the map of the palace. “The throne room is on the 4th floor. I need to go there, there is a big balcony and im sure that Kaito is going to watch the festival from that balcony my aunt says he never leaves the throne room.” Bakugou nodded and Kiri asked “What are we gonna do?” You started to explain “I want you to deal with the guards while Bakugou deals with Kaito’s right arm, Sir Yota.” Bakugou cracked his knuckles “Im gonna kill that little fly.” You sighed and continued “Be careful Bakugou, from what my aunt told me he has a similar quirk to yours.” He snorted “That doesnt change the fact that im going to tear him up to pieces!” You smiled to yourself, you thanked god for giving you such good friends they were in this with you and that gave you strength. You inhaled and gave them a sadistic smirk “Lets do this.”
-
“Okay we’re gonna left the dragons here.” You ordered “What are we gonna do now?” Kiri asked and Bakugou replied “Y/n’s aunt rented a carriage for us, we can easily get in without attracting too much attention, we’re gonna walk, its waiting for us on a stone bridge.” After walking for twenty minutes the three of you saw a regular carriage and the driver waited patiently before driving “Mrs.Kairi’s guests?” He asked and you replied “Yes.” When the carriage started to move you whispered “If we manage to capture Kaito and Yota, Bakugou will send a big explosion to alarm Arata and Ryuu and they will arrive with some swordsman to capture the soldiers that are working for Kaito.” Kiri nodded and gave you a big smile “We got this Y/n-chan!” You smiled back and looked at Bakugou, he was watching you. When your eyes met both of you averted your eyes. Things were different between you two, it wasnt bad or anything, there was just a weird aura between you two and both of you were trying to understand it. When you looked back he was watching the dirt road. You took your time to analyze his features, you understood why the girls was crazy for him. He was strong, captivating and handsome. You felt jelaous but it quickly disappeared bc you knew that you were the only girl who saw his soft and caring side, you guys grew up together and you saw all his stupid expressions and childish acts. A stupid kind of pride welled up inside of you. “Why are you looking at me ?” Bakugou’s voice interrupted your silly thoughts and you quickly shook your head “N-nothing!” Kiri caught a glimpse of the blush on your cheeks and he smiled to himself. Then the carriage abruptly stopped and you asked “Is something wrong?” The driver answered “No Miss, we are here.” Your stomach started to churn, you were so nervous. “Ok, thank you.” The three of you started to walk in the crowded streets, there were food stands, all kinds of shops and laughter. The people of the Marina Kingdom looked different from the Dragon clan’s you felt similar to the people of Marina, you didnt feel out of place. Bakugou saw the smile on your face and gave a sigh of relief. “Ok now we need to find the gates of the palace, where do we need to go Kiri?” You whispered and Kiri looked at the map “Just straight ahead.” You nodded and started to walk in a normal pace. The thought of your father made your heart beat in a crazy speed.” When you saw the big gates the three of you saw two muscular guards and they stopped you “Who are you?” You take a deep breath and replied “We are here for Mrs. Kairi.” He nodded and opened the gate “Wait here let me check.” You were so nervous that you tugged at Bakugou’s costume, he looked at you and sensed your anxiety, he let you grab onto him. “Ok, you can come in.” The guard came quickly and bowed. The three of you made your way towards the main hall and some servants welcomed you. The inside of the palace was empty, the streets were filled with happiness but the inside was cold and sad. You looked around and saw a young maid, you whispered “She looks easy.” Bakugou nodded and you made your way towards the maid. “Excuse me, can i use the bathroom?” The maid bowed immediately “Sure!” She guided you towards the right corridor and a big white door welcomed you. “This is the guest bathroom.” You smiled and bowed “Thank you.” She gave a nervous smile and left. When you saw her form disappear, you quickly followed the corridor and saw big white stairs. You managed to reach the 2nd floor but then you heard a butler and a maid speak “How is Lord Seiji?” The maid asked and the butler sighed “He is exhausted, he is talking about princess Y/n again.” Your heart dropped *Lord Seiji?* They didnt called him king anymore... You waited for them to disappear and looked at the big door, your heart was pounding. You hands trembled and you pushed the door open, the room was dark and the only noise you hear was erratic breathing. There was a tired man, laying on the bed with closed eyes. He was skinny but you managed to see his features, he was your father, you knew it. He took a deep breath and spoke up “...Adelina?” Adelina, was your mother’s name. You stopped breathing and sat next to him. You played with his h/c locks and he gave a content sigh, you kissed his forehead and watched him lose consciousness, when you got up and closed the door his eyelids opened slightly “...Y/n?”
-
“I guess Y/n managed to find the stairs, we should split up too.” Eijiro nodded and made his way towards the soldiers “What up guys? Why dont you guys enjoy the festival?” The guards gave him a confused look and Bakugou slapped his forehead. Bakugou followed the same path as you and saw the massive stairs, he ran up the stairs and made it to the 4th floor. When he saw you with the dagger in your hand, his heart pace quickened. “Y/n!” He whispered and grabbed your wrist. You jumped and kicked his manhood “Fuck!” He crouched down and you gasped “Katsuki, you scared me!” He hissed and tried to stand up. “Im so sorry!” He sighed “What are you planning to do?” You saw the worry in his eyes “Um, im gonna take my throne back?” He clicked his tounge “You know what i meant, are you gonna kill him?” You looked at the dagger in your hand and sighed “Im just gonna use it if i need it.” He looked at you in the eyes and holded your hand that has the dagger in it “I believe in you.” Your eyes widened “That Yota bastard’s room is at the end of the hall, i’ll see you in a bit.” You nodded and turned to the door.
-
Kaito was watching the streets with a smile on his face, he was content with his work. While his brother was suffering in his bed, his son was ready to take the throne, just when he was about to turn around to call his butler, he felt something sharp in the back of his neck. “Dont you dare move or make a sound.” The voice was unfamiliar and cold. “”Hands up.” He raised his hands and tried to mask his anxiety “Who are you?” You laughed sadistically and answered “Your lovely niece.” He froze and turned pale, when he made a move to take a look at you “I said, dont move.” He felt the dagger press harder on his skin, he hissed “I knew that you were alive but i didnt thought that you would come back.” He dryly answered but actually he was scared to death. “I came here to take MY THRONE.” He laughed and tried to hit you but you quickly dodged it “Guards!” He shouted but no one came, his eyes widened and you smirked “Did you really thought that i would came here, just to get caught?” The guards were nowhere to be found so that meant that Kiri got them all. He was trying to figure out your quirk but since it was about intelligence he was clueless, you calculated his moves and dodged. Then he grabbed a sword and charged at you, you took his head and smashed it on the ground, he groaned in pain and you kicked the sword “Yota!” He screamed but no one came. You took that as a sign of Bakugou’s victory and laughed. Kirishima managed to knock off the guards and Yota was nowhere to be found “Tell me, where is my lovely cousin?” When he opened his mouth you cut him off “Oh i already know! He is out of the Kingdom for special training right? Well, too bad.” He groaned “H-how do you know that?” You snorted “Aunt Kairi helped me a lot about gathering information.” Kaito growled “That little-” You squeezed his neck and he wheezed “Dont you dare talk about my aunt like that.” Then both of you heard a loud explosion, that was the sign that Bakugou supposed to give to Arata and Ryuu. You smiled and hit Kaito’s head with the back of the dagger, he passed out and you tied him with the metal strings that Arata made. When you opened the door, you saw Bakugou waiting. When you saw him in one piece the tears you were holding started to fall, just when he was about to open his mouth you pulled him in a bone crushing hug “Katsu!” He didnt say anything and returned the hug, after waiting for you to calm down he spoke up “We made it, i told you that we were in this together.” You pulled back and your eyes meet, you cupped his cheek and his eyes widened, when you started to get closer his cheeks turned red and he didnt know what to do, he closed his eyes shut and waited for the kiss to happen but when he felt your forehead on his, he opened his eyes. Your e/c orbs were looking at his ruby ones. “Im so lucky to have you...” Your tears were still falling, he smiled and closed his eyes “Same.”
-
After the chaos, Arata and Ryuu came with a bunch of swordsman and captured all the guards, maids and butlers that were secretly working for Kaito, you quickly hugged all of your friends and thanked them for their help. Then you went to the throne room and looked at the crown that were standing in the glass bell. “Mom uncle, im home.” After shedding your last tears you ran towards your fathers room, it was so emotional, he fainted and thought that it was all a dream, then the servants gave him his medicine and told him to rest. The people of the kingdom and the servants in the palace were confused so Bakugou gave them a speech of the princess’ arrival and victory. Everyone cheered and thanked the dragon clan for their help. The leader soldier of the Marina Kingdom’s army bowed and showed his grattitude to Bakugou and Kirishima. Then Masaru and Mitsuki arrived, they were proud and happy but they knew that you were going to stay in the kingdom so when the evening came they had a hard time saying goodbye. When you hugged Arata and Ryuu it was time for Bakugou and Kirishima, Kirishima looked at you with big teary eyes and pulled you in a tight hug “Oh, Y/n...” You patted his back and wiped his tears “Dont be sad Eiji, i will come to visit.” He pouted and his tears continued to fall “But its not the same thing, i know that they need you here but... You are my best friend.” You giggled and pinched his cheeks “What about Bakugou?”You asked and he pouted “You know what i meant!” After ten minutes of hugging with Kiri, Katsuki was standing in front of you, you never saw him this quiet. He was looking at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the world, instead of talking you took his hands and he immediately look up. “At my happiest and saddest times, at my weakest and strongest state you saw all of me... You are the only one who knows the true me.” His eyes trembled but he decided to stay silent and listen. “My first friend, rival, partner in crime, role model... You are my everything, Katsuki.” His heart was pounding in his ears, his cheeks were red like his beautiful eyes and his hands were trembling, he didnt wanted to say goodbye, he wanted to see you when he woke up and he wanted to see you before going to sleep, he wanted to see you training, see you laugh, see you joke around because these past fifteen years were the most precious years of his life. “Katsuki, when you become a leader, you’ll get married and rule the clan. I know i promised you, i promised to stay by your side but... I need to help my kingdom.” You bit your lip and shook your head “I-im so sorry for breaking my promise...” The tears started to fall again “Im such a crybaby today, huh?” You tried to laugh but it didnt sound like one. “At least you’ll have the woman that you love, she’ll be by your side but i cant because i need to stay here...” He clenched his teeth and grabbed your cheeks, your face was now sandwiched between his large hands “Stop saying illogical things!” He shouted and you looked at him with wide eyes “Im not gonna marry with a random woman, i already decided arent i?! I wanna rule with you, i want you by my side!” Your cheeks were hot, you didnt wanted to misunderstood the situation but he started to sound like he... loved you? “K-katsuki but how...? What are you trying to say?” He groaned, here goes nothing... “I never said it loudly but it doesnt mean that its not true! I... I love you, there i said it!” Your mouth was agape and he was red like a tomato, your mouth started to tremble “Y-y-you love me?!” If he was embarrassed he was more embarrassed than before “Are you deaf?!” You quickly shook your head and grapped his hands “No! I just...” You were frustrated, you were struggling to form an answer and his expression started to change, he started to think that he was going to get rejected, to gave him an answer, you cupped his cheeks and slammed your lips on his, it was awkward but meaningful and cute. You quickly pulled away and started to shout “Im so sorry, i love you too i didnt know what to-” Your words got cut off by his lips and it take you a while to realise that he was kissing you back. “Don be so loud woman.” He mumbled and held you by the waist, you saw a sincere smile on his lips and both of you looked at eachother with loving eyes...
-
Four Years Later
“Is my carriage ready?” You asked while trying to get ready “Yes, your highness.” Your maid replied with a smile on her face, you grinned back “Where is my father?” the maid looked at you and answered “He is having tea in the garden, your highness.” You hummed and quickly got out of your room. Everything was perfect, all of the servents greeted you with sincere smiles and when you made it to the garden, you saw your father smelling the roses that you ordered. “Did you like the white roses that i ordered, your majesty?” Your father quickly turned around and gave you a strong hug, he was getting stronger and stronger. He smiled and nodded “They are beautiful, honey.” You smiled “Im gonna visit the Dragon Kingdom, do you want me to deliver a message for father Masaru?” He laughed and nodded “Tell him that i missed beating him at chess.” You laughed and gave him a peck on the cheek. “See you later, father!” Bakugou was the new leader and the old dragon clan was now a big kingdom. He was a strong and fair leader but in the inside he was your softie, you wanted to see him so badly and gave him a lot of kisses.
-
“No! I told you to bring the white roses!” The servants bowed and rushed to change the pink roses with white ones. When Katsuki invited you to discuss some matters, he got nervous and wanted everything to be perfect so now he was ordering the servants around. “Are the desserts ready?” The servants bowed and answered “Yes my lord, we prepared all the desserts that Lady Y/n likes!” He nodded “Good.” He nodded and tried to slow down his racing heart. Now you were a grown woman, you were strong, alluring, intelligent, beautiful, elegant, charming, captivating, you were perfec- “My lord, do you want me to prepare the lavender tea?” He growled and shouted “ARE YOU DEAF? IM TELLING YOU TO PREPARE WHATEVER Y/N LIKES THE MOST!” The servant bowed while muttering apologies and dashed towards the kitchen. Katsuki pinched the bridge of his nose and waited for your arrival.
-
When your carriage arrived the servants bowed but you gave them all a friendly smile “Katsuuu!” You shouted and ran towards the garden, he was watching the small lake, when he heard your beautiful voice, his heart skipped a beat but his expression was the same, he was good at hiding his excitement. You jumped on him and wrapped your arms around his torso “You tryna kill me, shitty woman?” You gasped dramatically and he snorted “You are hurting my feelings Katsu!” He rolled his eyes but the small tinge of pink was still visible on his cheeks. After joking around both of you sat down and discussed about economic stuff, he watched you carefully, your serious expression or the confused one, everything about you was beautiful, he wanted to see you everyday, by his side. Thats why he was going to ask you the ‘big’ question today. After the boring discussions he took a deep breath and started “I want my kingdom to become the strongest one in this century.” You decided to tease him “Too bad because mine is stronger than yours.” You waited for a comeback but it never came “You’re right... Thats why i want our kingdoms to become one.” Your eyes widened and when you see the smirk on his face your face heated up “B-but the only way is...” He cut you off and completed the sentence “Marriage between the royal families.” You choked on your spit and he snapped his fingers, a servant came with some papers in his hands and handed them to Katsuki, slammed the documents on the table, they were about your marriage... With him. When your eyes met with his, he had a victorious smirk on his face “What do you say, annoying woman?” Your lips trembled and you attacked him with a bone crushing hug “Katsuki!!!” When he heard your sobs, he snorted but hugged you with full force. When you calmed down he looked at you in the eyes “Now we can rule the world together, side by side...” Then you sealed the promise with a heated kiss...
