Insecure - He cares a lot about what other people think of him and that can bleed into his relationships. He might act one way in public but another way in private which can make his words/actions seem insincere or disingenuous.

Internal struggles- Has a hard time balancing his feminine side and masculine side and what I mean is he is someone super emotional and feels his emotions very deeply but might try to cover that side of him up with a masculine facade which can bring tension.

Opinion on the US's Cogs damn obsession with corn?

don't know what you're talking about specifically but my understanding of US agricultural policy in general is that being a farmer in capitalism sucks and has since colonization and for a long time the US government tried to make it suck less with subsidies which sometimes work (because people get paid predictably regardless of demand and its less like gambling with crops) but sometimes go over really badly (because then too many people grow it and the price per bushel goes down and then government has too much corn) and then a couple times they got rid of all the subsides and related regulations and that REALLY didnt work (because then the price just crashed hard and with nothing to compensate them a bunch of farmers, many of whom were in debt for other farming-related reasons, couldnt get paid and actually had to foreclose their farms, which accelerated the long-standing trend of farms getting foreclosed on and then being bought out by bigger farms that then ended up running INSANE multi million dollar operations, sometimes even on farms in other states where the owners do not live, in communities they do not contribute to) and they had to backpedal on it and then eventually they just started on the current system where you simply pass a farm bill every 10-12 years instead of yearly or biyearly and that way you simply dont have to think about it, and then when it is election time you go stand by a cornfield for a while for tv. it does not fix the huge enormous farms buying out smaller farms problem or any of the complicated related problems but it DOES put it off for longer which is more important.

sometimes also you (USAID for instance) can give the too-much-corn you have from farm subsidies to a foreign country as a 'gift' and say youre just being a helpful little guy, but in the process of doing so undercut the local farmers in that country because they cant compete with free stuff but that's cool because then the foreign country can't really survive as well without US agricultural aid and you can manipulate them to do imperialism better AND you have more demand for the corn which might raise the price per bushel in the US. also sometimes the corn is fed to livestock en masse because the meat is worth more and sometimes its made into gas or high fructose corn syrup, and sometimes the price is so low per bushel that the insurance on the field is worth more than the actual corn.

but. i CANNOT stress enough that the most important thing about corn is that you can stand next to it on tv and if you cant do that, maybe you can stand next to a guy who is around it a lot and say you are helping him.

in my relatively uneducated opinion the most epic way to solve this complex multi-century interdisciplinary push and pull of supply and demand would be to just pay farmers a salary through the state since youre already paying out massive state subsidies for crops you dont need anyway and the farmers are performing a vital service and that way you can guarantee people a consistent salary AND control how much of each thing gets planted so you dont have a massive stockpile at all times AND you reward individual people instead of paying out large amounts of money to whatever massive operation sells the most corn by virtue of being big, but if you dont want to do that then the second best thing is to just pass another mediocre farm bill whos inflexible 10-ish year lifespan makes it impossible for it to respond well to changes in market demand and that way you can just put off making tough decisions and instead stand next to a guy and a cornfield on tv again. which as we have covered is the most important part of american agriculture

first of all, i want to say that i understand your frustration and here's the advice i have for you: go back to the basics.

the first thing i want to ask you is: who are you identifying as right now? are you identifying as someone who is living the life of their dreams, or as someone who lacks what they want?

what you identify with, what you assume to be true is what you will see.

remember that you do not have to identify with anything that you don't want to identify with. you do not need to identify with the things that you don't make you feel good, including your thoughts. if you have negative thoughts that go against what you want, you do not need to identify with them. remind yourself that they do not matter, circumstances do not matter. start only accepting what you want as true, and i promise you will see a change, as again, what you assume to be true is what you will see.

falling asleep in the state of the wishful-filled is also something i highly recommend. you can do this simply by just accepting that you have what you want right before you fall asleep, or you can do SATS. doing this before you fall asleep is one of the most powerful things, in my opinion. if you want to wake up with your dream life, wake up in the void, or even just manifest anything in general, i highly recommend this.

“Yea one of my new years resolution is to spend more time reading, hopefully finishing books i have been putting of. I guess mine is small but it is some improvement…you should make something!” You encouraged him as to bring in the new years spirit

“Me? Improvement? Make a resolution? Darling I don’t need one. I’m perfect. duh” He snickered

You laughed at his response “You know there isn’t such thing as perfection, thats what makes life beautiful, its always changing and you find the beauty in it…plus, even perfection such as yourself can always self improve somewhere”

“That defeat the whole purpose of perfect, I don’t need some resolution…i am PERFECT darling!” He kisses your cheek as he finished his stance

The night goes on as normal but of course your words linger Loki’s mind…and he took a minute to do some reflection…i mean he knew he was perfect, but even perfection has room for self-improvement…hmmm..

As the final 10 minutes of the year approached, your tipsy self found Loki and fell onto him

“Woah! Darling you ok?” He says as he holds you up

“YUP JUST TIPSY! …its a-almost n-new years…i need to be sober for our kisssssss”

“Kiss? I can kiss you right now you know”

“nOOOO new years eve kiss! I need water…NOW”

Loki rushes to get you water to get you back to being sober and by the time you gathered yourself and your thoughts, there was about 3 minutes to go

“OKAY IM GOOD! so basically a new years kiss is when we kiss once the clock hits 0! so basically…an i love you kiss, happy new year! Ya get it?”

Loki nods…he would kiss you any day at any time but he knew to wait, this was special to you as he could tell

As everyone gathered and the clock counted down, you and Loki stood together side by side

“10….9…8…7!”

Loki watches as everyone was here, celebrating the past and the future, all in the present moment…

“6…5…4...3!”

As the last 3 seconds ticked by, he took one good look at you. He knew how the past year had been for you…filled with so much good, too much bad in his opinion but amazing moment you both shared…and he couldn’t wait to see what the future brought for you in your own right, but for where you both will be and the memories to be created…he couldn’t wait

“2…1! Happy New Year!” Everyone cheered, screams of happiness filled the room and hugs and love was spread all around

You looked up at Loki and awaited for him to kiss you, which he did once you gave that glance that drove him insane

As the kiss went on, Loki felt nothing but happiness…how lucky is he to be with someone like you? What a lucky god he is….

Pulling away, you hugged Loki and watched as the fireworks went of and your friends greeting one another, you and Loki also greeting back

The excitement slowly died down and many went back to partying and drinking…Loki looked at you “Darling…I have a resolution”

You looked at him happily “You do?! You wanna share or keep it to yourself?”

“No no…you should know…My new years resolution is to make us happier…build us closer to our future…and of course…love you more and more each day…”

Looking at Loki, your eyes welled up in happy tears and you kissed him once more “Oh i’m so lucky to be with you…my love, I love you so much”

“I am just as lucky as you…I love you too…happy new year” He says with a smile as he held you close

you stand in front of the mirror in the bedroom, carefully inspect the image you see. your eyes move to look at your face clearly, your head leans into the mirror to see better. you look at your body, your hands on your waist as you frown and close your eyes with an exhausted exhale.

"i made us coffee, aren't you-" you hear aemond's voice, then his footsteps. "baby, what are you doing?" he asks, standing by the door.

you shake your head as if the action will help you get rid of your fresh tears. "nothing. nothing, i'll be there in a second."

aemond lifts an eyebrow, worried over the tone of your voice. you turn your back to him, your hands cover your eyes with a harsh movement. he steps into the room, holding you from behind as he tries to understand what happened.

"aemond, please. i'm fine, okay? nothing happened."

his hand holds yours as he tries to keep you from hurting yourself with your stiff fingers. "you're trying to stop yourself from crying, sweetheart. i'm sorry but this doesn't seem fine to me."

a quiet sob from you makes his heart clench with worry. he holds your body, tries to help you with your balance as you cry. "would you like to tell me why?" he asks with a gentle voice.

you point the mirror. "that's why." your voice comes out muffled and sad.

"i don't get it, baby, what's wrong with the mirror?"

you shake your head. "not the mirror. me. the way i look."

the puzzle pieces in his head become complete. he knows you feel uncomfortable about yourself once in a while. maybe something triggered the idea, maybe you made yourself think worse about the way you look. he takes a deep breath.

"you know, you don't have to try to comfort me. i can already see the truths. i'll feel better eventually, i know that too. it's not like i can do anything to change myself." you say.

he smiles, cups your cheeks with his hands to have an eye contact. "i just wish you could see yourself from my eyes."

"i'm not expecting you to have an objective opinion, aemond. it's just- the way i see myself. i don't like what i see."

he nods. "i can understand that, but there's no way for me to understand how you make yourself believe you look somehow bad."

you point the mirror again. "because it's right there! look at my eyes and how tired i look. i always look tired even when i sleep okay, i don't know how to fix my eyes. look at my posture, i just can't-"

aemond listens you rambling about yourself, every little flaw you see on the mirror. every little thing that makes you feel like you don't worth it. he lets you talk about them, never interrupts your thoughts. that's the hardest thing he does when your voice becomes shaky as you talk about yourself.

you keep telling him for minutes, the coffee he made for you long forgotten. you talk about everything, detailing every thought.

"is there anything else you want to tell me, hmm?" he asks when you stay silent.

you shrug. "i hope not, i already feel terrible."

he holds your hand and leads you to bed. he sits and pulls you on his lap, you try to settle down, feeling tired from your outburst.

he doesn't let go of your hand, kisses the back of it with affection. "do you want to hear my honest opinion?"

you nod. "please."

"i hate how unfair you are when you talk about yourself. i hate how you always focus on the good side of everyone else, but never the good things about yourself. i hate how you can manage to talk so low of what i love, what i admire everyday."

"i'm not finished, sweetheart. i know it's hard to believe for you, because you've never seen yourself like i've seen you. i know you don't ever give yourself credit for your accomplishments. i know how you always crave the best, the most perfect. i just hate how you act so blind, so careless, so simple when it comes to yourself."

you bury your face to his neck. he keeps talking. "it's so easy for you to give your friends compliments, right? it's not hard when you say the most beautiful things to me, because you feel like it. you see the best of people, the best of me even in the times when i feel like i don't deserve it. you see me as someone worthy of your pretty words because that's how you perceive people. i just wish you'd do the same for yourself."

"it's not easy." you say. "i want to feel better about myself, but it's not easy."

he nods, his one hand holding yours as you play with his fingers and his other rubbing your back. "i know, baby. i also know you can do anything you want to. you are not alone in this. you'll never be alone in this."

"how can you promise? how can you be so certain?"

he smiles. "you don't believe me when i say i know my girl? i know you, i love you." he kisses your lips. "i love you."

"i love you, too."

he kisses you again. "you can have bad days. it can happen, there's nothing unusual about that. i just need you to be kind to yourself. hmm?"

you nod. "i can try."

another kiss on your forehead. "everything you just told me, everything you see as a flaw- they are just the things i love most about you, the things that make you special. i fall in love with every one of them, i admire them, i consider myself lucky because i can see them everyday."

he kisses you again as you hold his hand in yours like your life depends on it. "will you-will you help me feel better? i don't want to feel like this- i hate feeling like this." you say.

"of course i'll help you, sweetheart. i can't let my girl think badly of herself. you deserve the world. you are my world."

you feel a lot better and calmer as he talks to you with a soft, convincing voice. he rubs your back with a gentle hand, he lets you play with the rings on his fingers, he presses his lips on your earlobe and your neck.

"would you like to have a cup of coffee now? we can watch a movie, too."

you nod. "sounds good."

he never lets you go for the rest of the day, never lets you get in front of the mirror again, never lets go of your hand. he never lets you doubt yourself, he is always there with his lovely distractions and sweet words.

Headcanons

No smut in this one, since I just really wasn’t in the mood but wanted to write this anyways. I’ve been listening to a lot of limp bizkit lately, idk what that says about me though.

You would have met the first time during one of your robberies, he would definitely make some joke about how he thought the cat burglars were in Gotham.

You’d give him the runaround and somehow escape him even with his super speed, which gets on Barry’s nerves since that rarely happens, especially from someone who doesn’t have any meta powers.

He’s never been one to resolve all his issues with violence like other heroes, so he would want to know why you steal and if he can help you out of the situation you are in that is leading you to steal. It becomes flirty pretty quickly, especially when you use some of your flexibility to wrap your legs around his head, or around his waist.

He finds out you mainly steal to give back to the people, like a modern day robin hood. So whilst he appreciates the enthusiasm for what you do, he cant let you rob all the places you want as much as he thinks it’s a noble cause.

At some point your flirting becomes steamier and more real as you learn more about each other, and at some point, you stage thefts just to see him. You don’t even make it out of the place you’ve robbed before he’s there and meeting you.

Neither of you can really say how or when you started dating for real, maybe it was one day Barry was hurt and you took him back to your apartment and patched him up, or that time he had to take your mask off to make sure you didn’t have a concussion.

But one thing lead to another and you both kissed, and your chases became even more of a game, the people of central city soon learned that you didn’t really pose any threat and that the flash would be there soon enough.

It becomes a meme in town that it’s just foreplay for you two, that you both like to play that little game of yours before the flash scoops you up and takes you home. Of course, that part has never been proven, but it’s part of the joke.

Some of the league would be uncomfortable in the beginning with Barry dating you, but when they voice their opinions, he’s quick to point out just how many of them have done the exact same or dated even worse villains.

Bruce decides very smartly to not say a single thing, because he has his own cat based burglar he likes to play tag with across the rooftops.

You are of course good friends with Selina, you both being cat based and with an eye for high quality goods. You also like to share stories of your lovers, you about the flash and her about Batman.

You visit her in Gotham sometimes, and she will come to Central city every now and then, just so you two can hang out, go shopping, commit a couple of thefts. Selina ends up loving Barry and says he’s just right for you, which makes your blonde lover blush.

Barry himself is pretty flexible in my opinion, but you are on a whole other level. You two like to exercise together or do yoga, so when you can pull off the super difficult poses he Is amazed and wants you to teach him.

There’s been multiple times during your games of chase that you have swung around poles and used it to change the direction you were running in, or have caught Barry with your legs whilst still holding onto the pole.

The two of you will never tell anybody, but you have most definitely given Barry a show or two with what you know on the pole, and he is a very enthusiastic viewer.

At some point you two are caught kissing by the public and it becomes like a secret only the people of central city know, but they honestly aren’t surprised at this point.

You end up becoming more of an anti-hero or vigilante, just stealing from the corrupt and only ever going after the normal persons items when you want to play with Flash on slow nights. You give large majority of the money you make back to the public to better the city for those who don’t have much, so you end up having fans too.

You end up meeting the league at some point, having to join during a meeting because they could truly use your expertise. Instead of sitting in the chair they offer you, you sit down in Barry’s lap which he just smiles about, looking almost as red as his suit.

Nightwing and other heroes who rely a lot on gymnastics end up going to you for advice because of how skilled you are, so you become a more permanent part of the league as you train others on how to use gymnastics and their bodies during battle, and in exchange you get some other training yourself.

You never become an official member of the league, because you don’t want too. But they get used to seeing you together with Barry, and they get especially used to you draping yourself all over the speedster like a big lazy cat, which always makes him flush.
