Hi! Could I be ✨Anon? (Im not sure whats been taken already) I've been on a big Batfam kick these past few days and have a v indulgent request if it interests you.
Could I request something for a (gn) civilian reader who is friends w/ the Batfam, but recently got superpowers that are magical girl-esque? Neither of the parties knowing of the others Alter Egos. Here are some of my thought, but write the post however you'd like.
Reader was accidentally caught up in some commotion that involved stealing specialty cargo. One of them being an alien artifact, and reader uses it in desperation to save themselves. But now they have these sparkely, pretty, and showy powers that they never asked for. (And maybe a magical animal companion that insist they bring light and justice to Gotham)
Reader is reluctant to be a vigilante, but keeps finding themselves in situations to help people anyways.(Maybe its a side effect of being a magical girl) They end up fighting alongside the Batfam at some point, but they feel embarrassed to interact w/ them. Reader feels completely out of place with their colorful and over-the-top powers when next to the cool and brooding batfam.
Sorry if this idea is a bit out there, but ty for letting me be indulgent in your ask box 💕!!
NO CAUSE I FEEL THIS DYNAMIC SO MUCH.
I either have the friendliest vibe or the bitchiest vibe and no in between. Meaning that people either come to me for everything or think I’m a snob/will bite-
and sure non! i don’t really keep track of my anons nowadays so people can be whatever as long as it’s not listed in my pinned
BAT X MAGIC ✨
IN ANY CASE
I’m gonna mix Sailor Moon, Miraculous Ladybug and Onimai for my inspo with this ask if you don’t mind
Magical Girl/Boy/Person! Reader is really close friends with Tim and Damian. If there was one thing all three could agree on it’s that they loved superheroes in manga/comics.
And Reader? Boy did they adore the Batfam. There was just something about their dark, brooding aesthetic that they couldn’t get enough of.
So it was a tad bit ironic that they stumbled upon the most “girly”and “bright” power ever known to Gotham.
It didn’t help that your abilities had to be activated with cutely yelling things like “Sparkle Blast!” or “Smile Hurricane!”
I like to headcannon that you have a familiar or Kwami like creature that in exchange of keeping your identity magically hidden, absolutely bullies you by making the one above a requirement.
I headcannon that Damian has the PHATTEST crush on you. Like even moreso than the stalker, otaku Tim. Like he is just head over heels. You’re strong, you’re capable, you’re adorable?? But that mostly extends to just your magic persona rather than your real self. He’s super obvious about it to anyone but you too (similar to the og miraculous ladybug w/ felix instead of chat).
Tim is more interested on who tf you were. Like yes!!! Magical Person Hero!!! You were basically his childhood crushes incarnate!! But his inquisitive mind really needed to know who you were in order to calm himself down.
Jason is honestly a bit overwhelmed by your whole getup, but grows to love you the most in terms of how kind you are and how you help them even in the most dire of situations (not knowing that you were basically forced to)
He’s very much Tuxedo Mask type wherein he’d be very annoying to you when the disguises are off but an absolute Casanova with em on.
You and Dick are the most close when it comes to patrols and fighting. I feel like you, being the big fan you were, would make him look even more flashy and handsome during battle with sparkles and whatnot. I have a feeling he’d be the first to ask you out or fully romance you, as well as be the first to befriend you/contact you as a vigilante.
Bruce is definitely perplexed by how you always evade him in terms of your secret identity. It frustrates him to no end that whenever he gets close to finding out something either gets in his way or his mind just goes blank.
Once you explain how your magical persona works tho he’s pretty quick on the bandwagon, especially since he sees that his boys love you.
Also cause you look way too adorable to really be heinous.
…Right?
Once you break one of your familiar’s rules though, they do share your identity with the bats and well…
All hell breaks loose.

Hi guys, I wrote a silly tiny self-indulgent gerrymichael fic!
AO3
warnings: internalized transphobia
She is cute and bubbly and shy and lovely, and something feels off about her. Gerry applies all of his knowledge about the supernatural to try and figure out whether something is wrong with her, he tries to warn Gertrude – she brushes his worries off, wich is unusual of her – and even manages to investigate her past and present, but finds nothing. She seems like a normal person, who just so happened to be the youngest and weirdest archival assistant he has ever seen.
Gerry knows she is twenty, – a year and a half older than him – she is both intelligent and academically smart, she likes Shakespeare and ABBA, she likes cats more than dogs and prefers tea over coffee. Digging through everything he can find about her Gerry finds out there were recurring incidents with a strange door in her childhood that almost made her psychiatrist she sees once every three months diagnose her with schizophrenia, but something convinced him otherwise. As far as Gerry is aware, she doesn't know it was the Spiral; she isn't aware of the Dread Powers at all, wich is worrying, because how the fuck didn't Gertrude think about telling her? Girl might be in danger if she's chosen by the Spiral. Gerry feels strange, he wants to protect her, he finds a strange resemblance in her even though they are completely different.
One day he finds her on her break in the library, sitting on the floor with a notebook and doodling. A cup of herbal tea she brings wuth her from home sits beside her, visibly cold and forgotten. He catches a glimpse of a page of her notebook with one name written several times, before she slams it shut and looks up at him, unsuccessfully trying to hide fear and shame.
"Good afternoon, Gerard," – she is, as always, polite and formal, even though they formed some sort of workplace friendship over the year. Gerry wonders if she would be less if he was officially employed, – "did you want something from me? I'm on my break right now, but I will gladly help you."
"No, no, don't worry", he waves his hand dismissively and sits down next to her. She anxiously fixes her sweater and he notices that something is even more off than usually.
"Actually, I'm here to talk. About a serious matter."
"Oh."
She looks almost as if she's in panic. She drags her knees to her chest, and Gerry finally notices what his mind ringed as wrong: it looks... Flatter. Not like she has lost some weight – Gerry doesn't think she should, but she told him once she doesn't feel comfortable in her body – but like something is flattening it.
"I- I didn't-" she stutters and tries to squirm further from him, but he interrupts her.
"It will probably sound invasive, but who is Michael?"
She freezes and he tries to fix whatever damage he has just dealt.
"Look, Curls, I'm an asshole and I work for the paranormal research institute and shit felt wrong about you since the day we met, so I investigated you. I was worried you might be a... a doppelganger, and your remarks about you feeling unwell in your body, and the talk we had about the superpowers and you picking the shapeshifting, and when I was sure you are a normal human being I started worrying you are stalked by something paranormal, and..."
He catches a breath, and she looks at him with wide eyes.
"And if you feel like this Michael, whoever he is, is a danger, you can tell me. Even if he's just a weird guy who makes you uncomfortable. I'm your friend after all, am I not? And... And I like you, and you know I don't give this kind of affection away easily, and I just want you to be safe, okay?"
The silence is almost deafening while she adjusts her glasses.
"Well..." she starts carefully, "You don't have to worry about Michael. And- and about me. I'm just... I don't know."
They sit in sikence again for some time.
"Can I trust you?" she asks suddenly, eyes slightly watery and lips pressed into a thin line.
"Of course. You can trust me with anything, Curls, I'm great at keeping secrets."
"I think I might not be a girl," she mutters, gripping the edge of her sweater. "I always felt good when I was mistaken for a boy. I know I'm soft and I like girly things, and skirts look good on me, and I love my hair long, but I'm just chasing this image of me that strangers will take for a young man and... And I hate my life so much."
He is looking away from Gerry the whole time he is speaking, on the verge of tears and trembling. Gerry reaches out and carefully hugs him, drawing him closer.
"Don't worry, Curls, I know what it feels like."
"Do you... Do you think you should be a girl?" he asks, wiping off tears from his cheeks.
"Holy fuck, no," Gerry laughes, shaking his head. "Been there, done that, not my cup of tea. I'm the same way you are, definitely not a girl."
Gerry feels so easy, almost as if he was drunk. This whole time the strange feeling about his almost-coworker was just a going off trans radar, not a subconscious awareness of paranormal shit or anything like that. He laughes again and pats him on the head.
"So," they say together and both stop, waiting for the other. Gerry gestures, inviting him to continue.
"About you liking me," he mumbles, blushing and looking away again. "Will that change now that you know I'm weird?.."
"Hell no, I like both girls and boys. Actually, I think I only like boys, since I was sure you were a first girl I fell for. Well, silly me. Okay, my turn: I'm not sure if I'm right, but I suppose you'd like me to call you Michael?"
"Yeah," he nods, smiling softly. "I would quite like it."
"So, Michael, are you free tonight?"

Roy Harper x male!villain!reader perhaps? 👀
I just love my boy Roy and there is a severe lack of x male reader for him 😭
Roy Harper x male reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
I love Roy Harper, so much. He’s so gender. I was imagining Arsenal Roy in this, but you can imagine whoever you want. You are the protégé of Onomatopoeia, cuz I love that guy he’s so goofy.
Idk if I got the villain part right tbh.
You and Roy would have met when he was still Speedy or Red Arrow, as you were the sidekick to one of the villains in Star City, Onomatopoeia. You took after your teacher, targeting mostly non powered heroes, though you could fight toe to toe with some of the superpowered heroes.
Unlike Onomatopoeia, you didn’t imitate the noises of your weapons, you were completely silent for most of your time acting in Star City. You and Roy would fight as your teachers battled it out, but you had never been as big a fan of killing as Onomatopoeia, so you simply went with maiming or breaking bones.
Multiple times you had found Roy hurt on missions or passed out, so you dragged him to safety and patched him up not wanting to see him die, as you had come to care for him at least a little.
As the year passed Onomatopoeia left Star City to continue what he did, but instead of going with him you wanted to explore on your own. It had led to a horrible argument between the two of you, and you gave up your past villain name and appearance and became someone else.
You still killed and fought whoever you needed, falling into the same group as the likes of Deathstroke, getting paid to take out whatever target was put on your radar. But your life felt very empty and without purpose, so you just did what you had always done and killed.
You ended up running into the Outlaws on one of your missions, and though they had seemed wary they apparently knew about you enough to know you didn’t target innocent people if you could get away with it.
Seeing Roy made him feel almost nostalgic, but he didn’t recognize you since you had changed your appearance so much. You ended up working together with the outlaws on a longer mission as you had a similar target, and you grew closer to the group.
You had nothing against removing your mask or helmet since you had never shown your face working under Onomatopoeia, so there was no worry of being recognized.
Over time you grew closer to Roy, close enough that you both could subtly talk about your childhoods and lives, though neither of you ever went into too deep details about what made you both leave your homes behind, or what ended you up in the life you lived.
You had never felt many positive emotions in your life, so you didn’t know what to do about the flutter in your chest around Roy, or what to do when your face flushed when he brushed his hand against your own or flirted with you.
During one of the times the two of you were alone, Roy seemed to take the leap and leant in and kissed you, his calloused hand cradling your jaw as if you were something precious.
It made tears well up in your eyes, and for the first time in your life you cried. You sobbed as if all the pain you had ever felt poured right out of you then and there, but as Roy panicked and pulled back, you lurched forwards and grabbed onto him, kissing him again.
It resulted in the both of you holding tightly onto the other as you poured all the feelings you both felt into the kiss, desperate for human touch and love In a way that only came from the kind of life you lived.
As you pulled back from the kiss the secret you had been holding just seemed to pour from you, as you admitted you had known him in the past and who your teacher had been. Roy felt hurt and betrayed that you hadn’t told him before, but he also somewhat understood where you were coming from.
The though of wanting to cut himself off from his past was also something Roy dealt with, so even though he was hurt he didn’t let it get in the way of the fact that he truly did care for you.
From then on out you two were together, but there were some pretty large bumps in the beginning of your relationship. You both struggled with communication, and the fact that you still actively killed anyone you were paid to murder.
It led to more than one argument, as Roy himself wasn’t living the most legal life, but he at least wanted you to only kill those you had too kill or bad people. But you didn’t understand why he was so against it, since it was the life, you had always lived.
It ended up with your friends sitting you both down to hash it out, as they too were worried about you and needed you to talk about it. Jason ended up telling you both to actually use your words, or hed force it out of you.
Your friends left you alone and you two finally talked, and even as you both struggled you got your inner feelings and opinions out in the open. It was hard to talk about your past, for both you and Roy, but you did it, and you got a better understanding of one another.
You cut down on your hits, deciding to only target those to deserved it. And Roy couldn’t be mad at who you targeted now since he understood that was simply the way you were. After that you both promised to always communicate your needs in your relationship which ended up being quite helpful.
Roy is a physical lover more so than words. He likes hugs and cuddling, he loves to kiss and leave hickeys. He will give you gifts he thinks you could use, and he loves to share his interests with you. But there will be times where he will mumble how much he loves and appreciates you as you cuddle.
Living together was hard in the beginning as you both had to get used to another person being in your space, and had to take care not to hurt yourselves on the many weapons you both owned.
It would take a long time before you met his daughter, but she takes on look at you and decides she likes you, so from then on she’s always hanging on you when she’s visiting.
It only makes Roy fall more in love to see you with his kid, and seeing you being so careful and soft with her to make sure she doesn’t get hurt being around you. His heart flutters as the very idea of having a family with you, or just continuing what you have now, Roy doesn’t care, he just wants to stay with you.
You feel a similar way, but your anxious about the idea of ever having kids so its never something you give much extra thought, you just want to continue what you both have now.
You both are good for each other when you’ve gotten better at communicating, and you end up being a shoulder to lean on for one another which you both need every now and then. It reaches the point you also work with other heroes beside Roy and he defends you when they want you gone for your villainy, and you are the same way when someone talks bad about Roy.
Your friends always roll their eyes at how lovey dovey the two of you are, rolling their eyes as you blow each other kisses across the room, or make kissy noises over the comms. But they are happy for the both of you, and Roy and yourself couldn’t be happier.

Asleep Among Endives
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a sorcery world where soulmates are identified by vibrant colours, it was a splash of blue that transformed your bleak and monochromatic life as the reluctant heir of your clan into something else entirely— a sorcerer of your own making, one with complete faith in her own abilities.
For many years, the Koganei Clan of Tokyo's coveted Kin'iro no Namida failed to manifest in the long line of esteemed clan members, only to appear in you, a miracle child born from the branch family sworn to servitude. You were raised in the main family, albeit resentfully, due to the extraordinary circumstances of your birth. You found no joy in that life, though.
In the summer of 1997, the fledgling clan head of the superpower Gojo Clan fancied you a playmate, one headstrong enough to disregard the warnings about befriending a little god who might ensnare you with a curse. When you first met the young Satoru, everything around you turned a lovely sky blue. Little did you know that the very same thing happened to him, and you painted his life in shining gold-like sunlight.
In 2006, you entered the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College as a first-year student, the only healer in your class of three. You did not witness the devastation that forced Satoru to unlock his untapped potential when he was on the brink of death, the little god from your childhood now revered as the strongest sorcerer of your generation.
While the tides of conflict threatened to pull you apart, an unstoppable gravitational force only seemed to draw the two of you together. Gojo Satoru was always destined to find you, his sun— and what better place for the sun to be than in the sky?
A canon-compliant soulmate fic spanning the many years of your relationship with Gojo Satoru— twilight, the sun, ordinary days, side by side.

Chapter 1 — Twilight
— Twilight.
~ 1990.
Not even Ryomen Sukuna dared to covet that which should be untouchable— the most precious, golden tears of Suzaku. As the legends go, phoenix tears possess healing powers so immense that they can even successfully resuscitate any creature on the brink of death. While Suzaku existed as a protector in the past, the Koganei Clan of Tokyo became well-known for its own illusionary phoenix during the Golden Age of Jujutsu, a vessel that cried tears of molten gold meant to sew injuries closed, to mend broken bones, to heal what had been hurt— a cursed technique deemed more of a blessing than a curse when made use of, yet difficult to master and even harder to manifest.
Reverse cursed technique users were so rare a commodity, even for the Koganei Clan, who specialised in it. The number of family members that inherited the Kin'iro no Namida since the clan's formation can be counted by hand, each one carefully recorded in the family history. What was started out by the solitary Koganei Masahito of Edo, a goldsmith by trade, grew to become one of jujutsu society's age-old families. Though the Koganei were not as powerful as the Great Three Sorcerer Clans, the uniqueness of their technique became well-known to a point where they were in no position to refuse to assist both sorcerers and non-sorcerers in this golden age of sorcery.
The master Masahito sired many children with his wife Uesugi Karui in the hopes one like him would be born again. He also took many mistresses and the bloodline most flush with the ability soon became the main family, exalted for birthing children with the clan's gift. Apart from his cursed technique, the Koganei Clan gained fame and notoriety as a smithing family business, a front held up by Masahito's marriage to a daughter of the Uesugi Clan, the proprietors of the Sado Gold Mine. He sired children until he could do no more, and his family historians believed his final days to be a frenzy of final attempts to ensure the longevity of his precious cursed technique, and to an extent, his family name.
Tumblr media
In modern-day Tokyo, the Koganei Clan now made their home alongside the golden ginkgo trees that lined part of the Meiji-Jingu Gaien, part of the aged estate shrouded with a curtain due to the perennial nature of the golden trees within the gated property. With a keen eye, any sorcerer would be able to knock on the gates that were hidden from the normal human being.
In 1989, Koganei Kazuya was born as the eldest child of the current clan matriarch, Koganei Suzuna. Though the coveted reverse cursed technique did not manifest in him, it became his family's belief that he was the chosen child of his generation from his clan, one who will stand alongside the gifted child who altered the balance of the jujutsu world— Gojo Satoru.
In 1990, Koganei Kanade, a daughter from the clan's lower echelons, gave birth to a healthy baby girl, one destined for a life of servitude under Koganei Kazuya's leadership in the future. But as the years passed, her closest family members noticed something odd about her tears whenever she cried. Glistening— like new pearls just plucked out of their shells, the salt and sheen of the sea still clinging on to them. Your mother recognised those tears, yet she didn't tears a word to her family. She knew what would happen, after all. You would be taken from them for the sake of the clan's pride. You would be their pride, yet not entirely, either, since you were born lacking the proper status that would grant you the privilege of leadership.
When you were six, you found your mother half-beaten in your small home at the estate, no culprits found, but the look on her battered face rendered you to tears when she held you in her arms. Those very same tears would mend the bruises on her brow and the hollowing of her cheek, but it did little to heal the hurt of parting with her after you were discovered to have possessed "Suzaku" and its tears of gold.
You were born with the gift, Kin'iro no Namida, after three hundred years of attempts, but what was a gift to the clan became a curse to you. When clan elders made the discovery that you, of all people, were born with the golden tears, your mother reluctantly handed you over to the main family, where you were raised alongside Kazuya as his younger sister. While the young master Kazuya was kind, the rest of his family was not, and your presence in the main house only tormented them as much as your stay there did to you.
The current Lady Koganei, Suzuna, was no better, and she loathed the fact that she had to pass her title onto you, a child whose blood ties to her were vague as the murky saltwater used to cleanse and refine the goldwork your family became renowned for. Yet there was no denying your ties, either, since she recognised the storm in your eyes as the very same one she had when she was just starting out on her role.
Your relationship with the older woman was built on mutual respect and resentment, but she was convinced that she could learn to love you as her own, and she could form you into the very same matriarch that she is now— pleasing to the eyes and subservient to the will of those in charge of jujutsu society. But she would have to beat the anger out of you before that, no matter how long it takes. Her brand of tough love and training took the form of corporal punishment, for she knew you could easily mend whatever hurt was inflicted onto you if you cried hard enough…
Yet, you did not shed a single tear for yourself. Not in front of her, at least.
In 1991, not long after you were first brought into the main family, Suzuna gave birth to Koganei Chiemi, a daughter deemed an unparalleled beauty due to striking features unique to herself— light-coloured hair akin to the ginkgo trees that lined your ancestral home and a high nose bridge. It was evident Chiemi was not fathered by Suzuna's lawful husband but by another man, perhaps in hopes that she would give birth to one like you if she extended her reach someplace else, or if she shared her bed— her blood— with a man whose origins were vastly different from her husband.
But like her older half-brother, Chiemi did not manifest Kin'iro no Namida. She had to live with the fact that even with all her supposed beauty, she would remain inferior to a child born into the branch family, one lucky enough to manifest the clan's famed reverse cursed technique after three centuries. You expected Chiemi to resent you as her mother did, and she did so relentlessly. She wasn't above using her charm and sweetness to get what she wanted and to manipulate the people around her to do her bidding.
When Chiemi turned five, she became determined to push her agenda and paint you as a bully even though the servants and the clan elders knew otherwise, that it was always the other way around. She once hurled herself off the redwood engawa as she crossed paths with you and claimed to have been pushed by her older sister. The only issue she had with that story is that your hands were full of writing supplies that very moment— there was no way you could have pushed her off.
She once took a pair of scissors from the servants' quarters and chopped one of her loveliest kimonos to shreds before eventually claiming you were jealous of her more colourful apparel. While it was true you wore less elaborate clothing than her, you preferred it that way since you didn't want to be complacent with your position as the heir to the family. The elders could easily reverse that decision and throw you back into servitude like you were originally born to do. One of the servants testified to seeing the young lady Chiemi pocket the pair of scissors and return it only after a few moments, remnants of gold thread and expensive fabric still evident on the blades.
When Kazuya attempted to correct her behaviour as any older brother would, she only pushed back harder, calling him cruel for siding against his own flesh and blood sister.
"It was onee-sama's fault!"
She may call you onee-sama with a voice so saccharine sweet, but you knew it was laced with poison and spite.
"Onee-sama did this! She tried to cu— Ah!"
Suzuna had just returned from a clan leaders' meeting in Kyoto, one so particularly vexing after being thrown one proposal after another for your hand in marriage in the future. She did not bother getting out of her elaborately decorated crimson kimono when she reached out for her whining young daughter and angrily grabbed her by the jaw, Chiemi's chubby and rosy cheeks spilling out of her mother's finely manicured fingers.
"O-Okaa-sama!" You hurriedly clung onto the older woman's legs in a bid to stop her from further hurting the younger girl. It gave you no comfort to learn that Suzuna was just as harsh to her own flesh and blood daughter as she was to you, and she was not so easily convinced by the younger girl's purposeless crocodile tears. It incensed her even more when Chiemi cried in her grasp and nothing special happened, reminding her once more that the girl was indeed nothing beyond normal.
"You would do better than to run your mouth like that, Chiemi. Remember that no one will want a spoiled and useless little beauty like you even though you are the daughter of Koganei Suzuna, my child, even though you are from the main family of the Koganei Clan," Suzuna seethed before eventually releasing her, throwing the girl across the room where she landed against the shoji with a dull thud. She kicked you away as well, though you did not go flying any further than a foot away from her. It was a practised and measured movement you learned over the time she started training you.
"Chiemi will only continue to despise you from here on out, Otome. Why waste those precious tears and plead mercy for a child like her who hates you so much?" The older woman stated as she stepped into your space and grasped you by the chin. "You should know by now that every tear you shed is a blessing meant to be shared. Your tears will become a commodity, and the sparser it is, the more valued it becomes. Steel your heart, you foolish child. Crying for yourself is meaningless. Crying over something so trivial is weakness. You will cry only when it is absolutely necessary!"
Such was the reality she lived with for so many years. The Koganei were destined to continue granting their aid wherever and whenever it was necessary— pleasantly and without any qualm, without expecting anything in return— as though the cycle of shedding tears was nothing laborious.
Tumblr media
You swallowed the lump in your throat and fought back the tears that threatened to spring out as you held the older woman's gaze, the same storms in both your eyes and hers. You would not even attempt to test her patience even though you wanted to challenge her. When she realised you would not talk back, like always, she slowly released you from her hold.
The shoji soundlessly slid open, followed by Kazuya gently taking Chiemi in his arms, the younger girl also holding back her tears as she clung onto her older brother's deep green yukata for comfort. Suzuna could only watch as her son spirited away his sister from another of their mother's violent outbursts.
"It's all right, Chi-chan. Onii is here," you heard the boy's soothing voice as his padded footsteps receded from the hall. It was the same tone you heard from him whenever he comforted you. The older woman stood there quietly, her face void of any emotion as she made her way to the door, as though wanting to follow them out. She did not.
"That girl… she must have gotten that attitude and those impulses from that man. Spoiling her rotten doesn't help her case, either. Sooner or later, she must learn to live with the fact and accept that you are indeed her superior, regardless of your differences in origins," she stated with her back to your face. "Same as how you must learn to live with the fact and accept your fate as the rightful heir to this clan."
From where you now sat, you could see her elegant kimono finely embroidered with numerous golden ginkgo leaves against a crimson backdrop. It was your clan's seal, the symbol of your family's power. By the book, ginkgo represented hopefulness and optimism, calmness, good health, and perhaps inner fortitude— pleasing qualities you knew Suzuna tried to embody for you to imitate. Her candlewick-like patience did not help in her attempts.
"You will become the next clan leader, even if I must beat the resistance out of you," she said. "So I suggest you stop fighting back and learn to accept the fact instead."
She slowly but steadily made her way back to the middle of the room, outstretching a hand from the sleeve of her kimono. "Chiemi is beautiful and other sorcerer families would kill to welcome her into their fold. A smart family will make use of her origins, and if they are fortunate enough, she will give birth to children with the gift in the future."
You reached out for her and she grasped your smaller hand in hers, gently pulling you up to your feet. She was not harsh on you this time but allowed you to find your balance with a gentler grip.
"Kazuya is strong in his own right despite not possessing the gift. He inherited his father's Lightning Rod Sorcery, which is just as good and even better if you ask me. He will be brutalised by the reality that sorcerers are only worth the techniques they possess, and he will have to carve his own path if he wishes to make it to the top, to become one of the strongest of his generation," she stated once more as you held hands— tenderly. How ironic it was that she had to state the rest of her realisation. "He must outgrow that compassion, though, for it will ruin him."
Despite that dire prediction, Kazuya remained exceptionally kind to you as you grew up alongside each other, even when Chiemi was not, and you couldn't help but think it was because he still stood to gain something out of this settlement. Surely he must hold some kind of grudge against you for taking one that should have been his from the start.
Tumblr media
In the morning that followed, it was only you and Suzuna present at the dining hall, your breakfast table laden with most of your favourite food— grilled mackerel, miso soup, steamed vegetables, and a heaping serving of the finest rice in the house.
"Good morning, okaa-sama," came your standard greeting as you took your place across from her, sitting seiza on the tatami and saying a short prayer of thanks before eventually asking, "May I ask where Kazu-nii and Chiemi-chan are?"
"Yes, you may. I sent them on an errand. They are delivering invitations in your name, my daughter," the older woman replied, evidently pleased with your manner of speech as she delicately brought a piece of grilled mackerel to her painted lips. "You will turn seven soon. I would like for you to start making friends with other children from sorcerer families. Find a good girl who would like to marry your brother in the future, and perhaps… a good family for your sister to marry into when she comes of age."
You stared at her for almost a minute, comprehending her words before taking your chopsticks in your hands and mirroring her careful actions. It had been nearly a year since you were first brought into the main family home, and it was the first time you heard her refer to you as her daughter— and Kazuya and Chiemi as your siblings. Asking her questions will yield no answers, and you didn't want the surprise to show on your face any more than it should. You gave her a brief nod before helping yourself to a small mouthful of newly-cooked rice. "Of course, okaa-sama."
"Zenin Naobito-sama's youngest son— the nephew of the Zenin Clan leader— is about your age… and it seems the boy has taken an interest in you. I would like to arrange a meeting between you two soon. What was that boy's name again?..." She said with a short pause before setting her chopsticks down. "Ah, it's Zenin Naoya. He did not inherit his family's prized Ten Shadows Technique, but he is gifted and talented in his own right. You two might make a good match."
The Zenin Family. You've read about the potency of their power before and how they valued strength and cursed energy above all else. It was no secret that many clans were interested in you for your inherited cursed technique, one they hoped would make its way into their own families in the future. It will not matter to them whether or not you give birth to a child with your family's gift as long as you remain tied to them by marriage. Opportunities will always arise as long as you share your blood with them.
But if you were being honest, the Zenin Family's interest in you did not make a lot of sense. They were purists of the highest form and weren't exactly known for seeking out potential spouses from other clans, let alone from lower-ranking ones like yours.
"Kazuya disagrees with the arrangement, though. He said something about Naoya-kun being a little brat," Suzuna continued. "It's just a meeting. Afterwards, you decide whether the boy truly is a brat as your brother says. Have I made myself clear, daughter?"
Asking her questions will yield no answers, you repeat to yourself. She hated being questioned most of all. You hold her gaze this time, a pleasing yet measured smile on your lips as you nodded in affirmation once more. "Of course, okaa-sama."
"I suppose the times are changing. Tradition will soon hold very little meaning in this day and age of sorcery. It's only right for me to get on with the times if I want our family to survive," said the older woman before resuming her meal. She remained unmoving for a moment, letting out the faintest of sighs from her lips. It was the first time you have seen her visibly exhausted.
"Are you all right, okaa-sama?" You ask her, though you wish you could take it back as soon as the question left your mouth. You expected her to snap at you for asking such a stupid question. Instead, her pursed lips soften to a similarly measured smile.
"I tire of making all the decisions for us. Sometimes I wish you could inherit right here and now, but that would be unwise, making a child do all of this for me…"
For the longest time, Koganei Suzuna's true motivations were unclear to you. She was vicious in her decision-making and cruel even to her own children, but the unravelling of her composure at that very moment revealed to you more than she intended to make known— She masks her love for her children with indifference in hopes of preparing them for whatever the future has in store for them. Such things are beyond her control, so she focuses on the things she can control, such as forging alliances with other clans in order to secure places for them in jujutsu society. The matter of your own betrothal was no different, and she wishes for you to cast your net so far and wide to find a suitable husband who will uphold your family name and allow you to continue your clan's life work, starting with that brat from the Zenin Family. And perhaps another…
Her truest aspirations are for the Koganei Clan to remain in a position to continue helping others and assisting both sorcerers and non-sorcerers alike— even when it cannot help itself anymore, to continue prospering even as time's flow carries on, as the times change.
Change is inevitable. Suzuna knew that from the moment you were first brought to her, shivering and covered in your own snot. Your tears were blessed with the ability to heal whatever has been hurt, and what a waste it would be if you cried at nearly just about anything.
"I will do my best to uphold our esteemed family name, okaa-sama," you confidently stated, unknowingly cutting through her reverie. There was something about your newfound confidence that gave the older woman a little bit of hope that she was right about one thing.
"Of course you will. You are my daughter, after all. I expect nothing less."
Crying for yourself is meaningless. Crying over something so trivial is weakness. You will cry only when it is absolutely necessary— that very scolding became your guiding principle. From that moment on, you realised that Koganei Suzuna had complete faith in you and your ability to adapt to your circumstances. It didn't make her any less cruel, though.

Author's notes: — I use "Otome" as a placeholder for "Y/N" because I thought it looked much nicer in the stories I write. The term "Otome" is from otome games, or maiden games, and in this piece Otome would literally mean maiden, or Maiden-chan, which pretty much means Y/N. — The Koganeis are a family I've worked on before in a different fandom and I consider them a recurring theme of sorts. Seeing as they are a theme in itself, they have a gold motif to them, evident in the words I used to name their techniques. 小金井 - Koganei, which literally means 'tiny gold town'. Kin'iro no Namida - Golden tears — This lovely analysis of Zenin Naobito's character suggests he took up his role sometime in 1999, which is why Naoya here is still referred to as the 'nephew' of the current clan head. Have a read if you're interested in some Zenin Clan lore. This is a work in progress, one which I am very happy to be writing! This is also my first time actually posting a full fic here, so please let me know if there's anything odd. Warnings: mentions of death, yandere shenanigans.
You blinked, tears rolling down your face as you stared at your mother’s grave.
The cops couldn’t even call you when your mom was killed, seeing it as a victory as one less villain was gone.
You fell down to your knees, grabbing the tombstone, sobbing.
Your mother was a complicated woman but the love she gave you, the warmth and joy she had with you… knowing that this was how you get say goodbye to her tore your heart apart.
You cried harder knowing that the last time you talked to her, you both argued with one another.
Honestly, you can’t even remember what the fight was about now that she was gone.
“Hey…” you felt a gentle touch on your back.
“You know your mom wouldn’t want you crying like this.” Kun chuckled, his hand rubbing your back.
“I know- I just… I just can’t believe she’s gone.”
“I could bring her back you know?”
You turn your head to face Kun, his brown eyes filled with warmth and compassion.
“I know.” You sighed. “I don’t want her to come back. She should rest.” You turn your head back to the tombstone, your crying had subsided. “She never got to rest.”
Some few minutes passed and you and Kun looked up to see Jungwoo running towards you too.
“Guys! I got some news.”
“Not right now-“
“Word on the street is, a hero killed Lily.” He cut Kun off.
Your eyes widen in shocked.
“What?” You asked in disbelief.
Jungwoo nodded.
“That’s what I was told so you should take it with a grain of salt. But yeah, apparently, your mom was killed by a superhero. It seemed deliberate too.”
You turned to look back at Kun who was just as shocked as you.
Superheros don’t kill.
They don’t even kill villains.
It was against their code to kill.
“That… that’s not possible. Could it had been an anti-hero? A vigilante?”
Jungwoo shook his head sadly.
“No. I heard it was a superhero.”
Kun began getting up, gently bringing you along with him.
“Come on. You need to get some rest.”
~~
You couldn’t watch the news.
You didn’t like going outside.
Everyone was rejoicing the death of your mother and though you understandably knew why, it still hurt to see.
If there was one thing you wanted, it was to know who was the superhero the took your mother’s life.
It seemed as though the police were keeping it a secret as they wouldn’t even tell the public who so desperately wanted to know who their savior was.
Some days past and you were still in Kun’s house.
Your mother and him were… close friends to say the least, Kun being a mad scientist of sorts, helping your mother’s powers become stronger by make serums for her.
He was way older than he looked mostly because of him creating 2 serums. One was to stay young forever and the other was for immortality which kind of drove him a bit insane. But hey, insanity was a requirement to be a villain and even to be a hero for that matter.
You went downstairs, going to the kitchen for something to eat.
As you walked through the living room, you saw the TV was on.
Kun liked leaving on the TV for his cats whenever he was gone.
What had stopped you though was what was on the screen.
Words that read: The Hero that weeded out Lily of the Valley.
Your mother’s killer was on the screen giving an heroic speech.
You walked closer to the TV and gasped.
You couldn’t believe your eyes.
There was no way it was him…
“Johnny?”
Your childhood friend was standing in front of a podium a national television, smiling proudly as he talked about his heroic deed.
Childhood is a weird thing when you’re a kid with superpowers.
You either go to a private school were mostly all the superhero kids went to or went to an unknown school where all the villains kids went to, that is if your parent wasn’t too paranoid to even let their kid go to a somewhat public school.
Johnny and you had went to the same schools up until the 11th grade when you left the city to live in the countryside with your grandmother as she was ill.
Johnny, like you, came from a family of villains.
Nearly everyone in his family were villains.
Johnny, just like you, wasn’t interested in anything involving supes and villains. In fact, he vowed to never be apart of it.
When did that change?
You turned off the TV, sitting down on the floor as you begin to feel dizzy.
You wanted to vomit.
You felt so many emotions yet so numb.
You wanted to cry but you practically ran out of tears.
Being a child of a villain was quite possibly a cruel fate.
~~
You had began leaving Kun’s house to go into the city from time to time.
Luckily, no one knew that your mother was Lily of the Valley so you were able to walk around freely with no fear.
You had found a small cafe which was tucked in an alleyway on a street that was usually empty.
You began frequenting it as it was never crowded, nice, and the smell of caffeine in the air was simply inviting.
You decided to go today and the lights in the cafe was dim. Sweet Love by Anita Baker was playing softly and you were lost in your thoughts, staring at the cup of coffee in your hands.
These past few weeks felt like a dream. Nothing felt real to you. But everything was real and you hated it so.
Being so lost in your thoughts, you didn’t notice the man who took a seat opposite of the booth you were in.
“You seem pretty upset.” You heard, causing you to look up only for your heart to drop.
You didn’t say anything, only stared at him, a scowl written onto your features.
Johnny laughed.
“Oh come on! You can’t say hi to me?” He grinned.
“Fuck you.” You spat.
Johnny leaned back, eyes closed, his hands going on his heart, mocking a pain expression.
He opened his eyes to look back at you, leaning close to the table.
“Ow! That’s so mean.” He pouted.
“Oh shut the fuck up Johnny!” You shouted, not caring for the few people in the cafe who gave you some concerned glances.
“How did you even find me anyway?”
“I followed you obviously.” His hand crept towards one of your hands that was holding your drink. “I’ve been following you since you finally came into the city… though I thought you would’ve stayed at a hotel or something.”
He sighed.
“You make it so hard to find you, you know that right?”
You frowned.
“What are you talking about?”
Johnny scoffed.
“You know what I’m talking about. I killed your mom for a reason.” His hand soon came on top of yours and when your tried to move it, he gripped your hand tight.
It wasn’t too painful but it had you whimpering slightly.
“I mean… how else was I suppose to get you back here hm?” He whispered, all the amusement gone from his eyes and voice.
“You killed my mom so I can come back to this city?” You looked at him in disgust.
“And it worked.”
Your jaw hurt from just how hard you was gritting your teeth.
“Why?” Was all you could ask.
“Because you left before I could say I love you.”
You snapped.
Before you knew it, you had use the plants in the cafe to go around Johnny’s neck, his grip on your hand being released.
Johnny was strong and you knew he would be able to tear the small plants wrapped around his neck off of him so you took this as a chance to run out of the cafe as fast as you could.
Nothing compared to Johnny’s strength.
He was just too damn strong.
You pushed the door of the cafe open, running down the alley as fast as you could only to feel strong arms squeeze around you so tight, you swore your spine was gonna break in half.
“You’re in the city baby. Your powers are weak here.”
“LET ME G-“ you felt his hand wrapped around your lips.
Johnny laughed as you desperately tried to leave his hold but you both knew it was no use.
“You left me before and I’m making sure you won’t leave me again. Ever.” He grin victoriously.

Winner Takes It All Masterlist
Summary: Charles had a plan, the Mustang was waiting for them at the track but there was one final surprise he had up his sleeve
Warnings: tiny mention of the crash
A/N: two posts on a week aren’t you lucky sods 😜

It still amazed me how I managed to squeeze into the bucket seats of the ST with this god annoying cast. One week down practically a million more to go. Leaning my head against the window of the car I watched the scenery change, my mind was spinning again but to be honest it hadn’t stopped spinning since the crash.
I was pretty much a pro now at putting on a front, hiding what I was really feeling but I knew Charles could see straight through the mask, he always had this superpower to know when I was hiding behind this cocky attitude I wore like armour.
Feeling Charles link his fingers with mine it not only took my breath away but it pulled me from my downward spiral.
“You doing okay?” he hummed, keeping one hand on the steering wheel and his eyes on the road ahead. “And don’t give me the bullshit story you have been telling everyone else.”
Letting a heavy sigh escape my lips, I turned to look at Charles finding myself taking in his features, his hair was getting longer so most of the time he was rocking the messy just got out of bed look. Before I went down the rabbit hole of staring at this stupid perfect face I remembered he had asked me a question.
“Urm honestly, I don’t know how to answer that.” I sighed.
The moment the words left my lips he squeezed my hand gently, flicking his gaze over to me for a brief second. “I just feel like I’m lost, I wasn’t meant to be ending the season like this.” I could feel the tears burning my eyes. “Don’t even say things happen for a reason because if you do I will punch you.”
Charles let out a sigh before indicating and pulling into the nearest car park. Once the ST had come to a stop he shifted in his seat taking both of my hands in mine, his thumb brushing across my skin sending sparks through my skin. “My sweet girl,” he hummed, looking up at me with a soft loving look on his face. “Everything is going to be okay, I promise you will get through this, we will get through this together.” His voice was soft as he spoke, with every word he spoke I felt him slowly chipping away the walls I had built around my heart and that scared the living shit out of me. “As much as I want to go back and change the past, we can’t. But what we can do is take things one day at a time, taking baby steps to rebuild everything back up.”
A traitorous single tear rolled down my cheek, I knew the words he spoke were not about the crash, they were about us.
Automatically he reached up, brushing away the tear with his thumb, “babygirl, please don’t cry.” he whispered, cupping my face in his hands. “I will get you back on your feet, I will be there throughout every physio visit, every doctor's appointment, everything. I am not going anywhere babygirl, not now not ever. I walked away from you once and I won’t be making that mistake again.” he had a small smile appear on his face before he leaned in, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Now, for the rest of the day we are going to have some fun. If you can’t go to the track, I will bring the track to you”
“What do you mean?” I hummed, resting my forehead against his, letting my eyes flutter close, relishing his touch, it was something I had been craving for so long.
“Look up babygirl.” he whispered, pulling away from me causing me to look up out of the windscreen.
My jaw dropped the moment I saw we were at the track we both spent the majority of our childhood years at. But what shocked me the most was the candy apple red 1965 Mustang GT350 Fastback parked at the start line. It looked exactly like mine but it couldn’t have been seen as mine was securely locked up in the garage back in England.
“It is yours.” Charles chuckled, as if he could read my mind. “I got it flown over for this reason.”
“But I can’t drive it, you muppet.” I huffed, folding my arms across my chest trying to hide the pain I felt in my ribs.
“No but I can.” he winked, the cheeky grin on his face growing by the second.
He was like a child on Christmas morning, I had never let him drive the Mustang before so he was relishing in the fact he would be the one to take the beast around the track.
“You scratch it, I end you.”
“You seem to be forgetting I am the best Formula One driver on the track.”
“I am right here, you asshole.” I pouted, lightly smacking his chest with the back of my hand. “You seem to be forgetting that I fucking dominate that track and I dominated you.”
“Oh you can dominate me any time baby.” he winked, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. “As much as I want to continue this, it is time to push the beast to the limits and see what that beauty can do on the track.”
“You already know what that beauty can do on the track.” I giggled, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
“Damn right I do.” he smirked before slipping out of the car.
Soon enough Charles had helped me out of the ST and into the Mustang, it wasn't easy but he managed it without moaning even when he couldn’t get the passenger seat to push back any further.
Hearing the engine of the beast and feeling the vibrations through the seat put a smile back on my face. It had been too long since she had been driven.
Without any warning Charles slipped the car into first gear and sped off down the track.
It was like I had been transported back in time to when we used to race the ST around this very same track, glancing over to Charles I noticed how wide his smile was as he pushed the Mustang to its limits.
Hours had passed and I was pretty sure I needed four new tyres on the Mustang but I didn’t care. Right now Charles was doing everything in his power to make me feel like myself again and it was working. My jaw actually hurt from smiling so much. Although the moment he started doing donuts in the beast I was ready to punch him.
The car soon came to a stop and Charles looked at me with a cocky smirk.
“Told you I wouldn’t scratch it.” He hummed, taking my hand pressing tender kisses against my knuckles.
“Nah but you killed my tyres, asshole.” I giggled.
Tumblr media
The tears freely fell down my cheeks as I took in the sight in front of me. The sun had only just set and the picnic blanket and pillows were set up on one of my favourite spots in this country, the back of Charles yacht. I had no idea how I managed to get all of this set up when we spent the whole day at the track but I wasn’t going to question this.
“Bear, this is beautiful.” I whispered, feeling Charles wrap his arms around my waist and I automatically leant back into him.
“Not as beautiful as you.” he whispered, his breath ticking the back of my neck as he spoke.
Ever since Japan things had started to change between me and Charles, in fact things had started to change long before that. The pinnacle moment for us was when I showed up at his hotel room drunk, pouring my heart out to him. But things were slowly going back to how we were when we were dating.
“You did all of this for me?”
“Vali, I always have and I always will do anything for you, no matter the cost, no matter the effort because it is worth it to see that smile that captures my heart.” Charles hummed, taking my hand in his leading me over to the picnic blanket helping me down onto the blanket. Once he was satisfied that I was comfy he sat down behind me, spreading his legs either side of my body, pulling me closer to him.
In this moment it was like the past didn’t exist, neither did the heartache and pain. This moment was pure bliss, and for the first time for a while my heart was happy. It was just me and Charles, no one or anything else mattered right now.
“What are we going to do, Bear?” I whispered, keeping my focus trained on the sky, watching as the clouds rolled by.
“Like I said in the car babygirl, we take each day as it comes.” Charles whispered, pressing a kiss against the back of my head. “We focus on the moment rather than worrying about what tomorrow will bring.”
“I was talking about us.” I whispered, finally saying the words that had been on the tip of my tongue for the last few weeks. “Everything is changing, and you can’t tell me you can’t feel it too.”
“Remember when I said I want us to start over again, I don’t care how long it takes, I will wait as long as you need.” he whispered, resting his head against my shoulder. “I meant every single word. I do feel it, and I want nothing more than for us to go back to how we were but I am happy to wait until you are ready even if that means waiting until I am old and grey.”
I had practically choked on my words at his response, even though the words I wanted to say were on the tip of my tongue but no matter what I couldn’t get the words out. Running my hands over my face I blinked away the tears.
“Babygirl, I know you are scared and I don’t blame you.” Charles hummed, moving so he was now knelt in front of me, taking my hands in his. “Look, I know I hurt you in the past and ever since then I have hated myself for walking away from you. I still love you Valentina, you have my whole heart, you always have done.” Turning my gaze to him I found myself getting lost in his eyes, the lights sparkling in them provided me with a feeling of calmness. “Ever since you turned up at my hotel room I have been clinging onto that bit of hope that this time would come.”
Pulling one of my hands from his I reached up resting it against his cheek, feeling his nuzzle into my touch. My heart was screaming at me, this is what I had been wanting for years now.
It was now or never.
Taking a deep breath I lent forward, closing the gap between us. Pulling my other hand free I wrapped my arms around Charles neck, my gaze flicking between his mesmerising eyes and his lips. My heart was racing as we both edged close to each other. Once our lips connected everything was going to chance once again. But I knew in my heart I was ready and this was what I wanted.
Our lips were millimetres apart when my phone started ringing causing me to groan knowing exactly who was calling by the ringtone that was blaring on the deck of the yacht.
“Fucking Pierre!”

500 Miles (Chapter Three)
Summary: This is Part Nineteen of my series A Herrmann/Halstead Production. It is an AU where Christopher Herrmann's mom had an affair with Pat Halstead resulting in a baby. The series follows this OC character (Rebecca "Bex" Herrmann) as she grows up and gets to know her brothers and the various Chicago teams. It is very much an AU, just to underscore that. It doesn't follow the same timeline and characters will follow different paths.
Click here for the Series Rundown where you can find the links to read all of the previous installments (which I highly recommend you do so that this one makes sense.)
Rating: Teen and Up
Relationships: Christopher Herrmann & Original Female Character, Jay Halstead & Original Female Character, Will Halstead & Original Female Character, Jay Halstead & Will Halstead, Greg 'Mouse' Gerwitz/Original Female Character, Will Halstead/Connor Rhodes, Assorted OC Couples
Warnings: Light Angst, Emotional Conversations, Dealing with Past Trauma, Minor Character Injury, Swearing, Implied Sexual Content, Kissing, An Unholy Amount of Fluff
A/N: To underscore my previous note, this is an alternate universe so things have unfolded differently. This will not follow the canon arcs exactly by any means. But I hope you'll still enjoy it!
Chapter One Chapter Two
Chapter Three
Mouse
Sunday afternoon, Mouse paced back and forth in front of the park entrance he and Bex had agreed to meet at. Their plan was solid. It made sense. He knew that.
But now—faced with actually following through on it? Mouse was freaking out a little.
Maybe a lot.
Bex pulled up in her wheezing heap of a vehicle; the subject of a number of Jay’s rants. According to him, the only reason the Tin Can 2.0 could even run was due to Bex’s completely unfounded belief that it would. (Possibly another Very Specific Superpower at play.)
Mouse couldn’t fault Jay’s logic. Bex had a habit in believing in all kinds of lost causes. He shook his head, practically feeling her rolling her eyes at him for that thought. A flurry of barks and a door slamming brought him back to the present and he looked up to see her flashing a grin at him as she wrangled Kol out of the backseat. The corner of his mouth ticked up automatically in response. A Bex reflex.
“Hey!” she called out, doing a little walk-jog over to him as Kol pulled on the leash. “Someone is very ready for a w-a-l-k so I hope you’re prepared to put some miles in.”
“Yeah,” Mouse said, hoping his face was doing something normal. “Absolutely.”
They started down the path; Kol keeping them moving at a good pace. “How’s it going?” Bex asked, knocking elbows with him.
“Uh, good, yeah,” he said, watching Kol nose along in the grass. Easier to watch him than to look at Bex at the moment. He tried to remember the pep talk from his group this morning. They’d all agreed that honesty was the best policy for the things he wanted to talk to her about, but where did he start? “How, uh, how are you?”
There. That was safe.
Cowardly, but safe.
“Pretty good so far.” Bex laughed. “Emery and I roped Connor into going to the farmers’ market with us and we got so much stuff. We went a little wild so I may have a few things in the car to rehome with you, sorry, not sorry.”
“Sounds good,” Mouse nodded absently.
Did he start with the messed-up childhood or the even worse teen years? Or his time with the army rangers…and everything that came after that? Which one of his red flags would have the infinitesimally better chance of not sending her running in the other direction?
Mouse could see Bex casting him curious looks out of the corner of his eye. His idea of letting her take the lead and do most of the talking was on shaky ground. He’d just gotten her back and he was already messing it up. He thought he’d have a bit more time. Be able to come up with some kind of plan—to what? Suddenly have a whole new history? Yeah fucking right.
Now it was too late. The moment had come. He was here, walking beside Bex on the first of their ‘working shit out’ walks and he couldn’t even make words work and now she was watching him with that determined ‘Bex’ look on her face and this was it, she was going to tell him it was a bad idea to begin with and—
“What do you call an angry carrot?” Bex blurted out.
His brain took a moment to process her words. “…what?”
“What do you call an angry carrot?” Bex repeated slowly, a smile slowly dancing around the edges of her lips.
“I…have…absolutely no idea.” He was completely confused, but he’d grown used to having that feeling around Bex so he was willing to see where this went.
She leaned in close, bumping her shoulder against his. “A steamed veggie,” she said, waggling her eyebrows.
A startled laugh burst out of him and Bex grinned, looking incredibly proud of herself.
God.
He was so fucked.
***
Bex
Mouse was being incredibly weird and twitchy and while that was mostly part of his charm—at least for Bex, it was—this was a different level of weird and twitchy.
This was Mouse freaking out.
She let him be for a bit, trying to give him space to settle into their walk, but it soon became clear that wasn’t going to work. He was spiralling.
Spiralling was the exact opposite of their goal here so she needed to figure out how to nip that in the bud somehow. Bex opened her mouth to say something calming or encouraging and instead—instead what popped out was—
“What do you call an angry carrot?”
Bex barely managed to avoid forehead slapping herself.
Mouse finally looked at her though. “…what?”
Well, she definitely had his attention and she may have put a pause on the spiral so whatever. She was rolling with it. “What do you call an angry carrot?” she repeated, kind of loving the perturbed little furrow that was growing between his eyebrows.
It was cute, okay?
“I…have…absolutely no idea,” Mouse said faintly.
Bex leaned in close, bumping her shoulder against his. “A steamed veggie,” she said, waggling her eyebrows for maximum effect.
The ridiculousness seemed to work on him though because he barked out a laugh and the thread of tension that had been growing between them snapped.
Maybe now they could get somewhere.
“Pretty good, eh?” Bex asked.
Mouse shook his head, laughing. “Uh, pretty terrible actually, but I liked it.”
“No stealing it,” she said, pointing a warning finger at him. “I gotta remember to tell that one to Sergeant Voight later.”
“I solemnly swear to never repeat that joke to anyone,” Mouse said, pressing a hand to his heart, eyes wide. “Ever.”
Bex huffed out a laugh. “Good.”
They walked along together for another minute, letting the quiet sit, but Bex was wary of letting it fester again. Not communicating had only proved to be disastrous for them so far.
Cutting to the chase it was then.
“These walks we’re taking,” Bex began and Mouse shot a quick look at her before focusing back on Kol. At least he was listening. She kept going. “I know you have stuff you want to tell me about,” Bex said. “Things that you think will scare me off, but—”
She reached out and grabbed Mouse’s hand in hers. He let her.
“We also agreed that there’s no set rules here,” she said. “There’s no forcing anything or putting pressure on ourselves. We’re spending time together.” Bex squeezed his hand, leaning gently into his side before swaying back. “Taking it slow and getting to know each other even better than we did before,” she continued. “You can tell me whatever you want whenever you ready, but right now? I’m happy just to be here with you.”
Mouse squeezed her hand back, taking a slow breath. “I don’t even know where to start,” he admitted quietly.
“How about with ‘what have you been up to this weekend?’” Bex ducked her head to catch his eye and he finally looked up at her again, chewing on his lip. His gaze cleared and he smiled at her softly.
“What have you been up to this weekend?”
“Well, you know how we went to the farmers’ market?” she asked and he nodded. “Kidnapping Connor to come with us was the best idea ever. Everyone was too busy flirting with him to haggle. We got so many deals!”
Bex told him all about the rest of their market adventures and the many things she and Emery were planning on making with their bounty. Mouse told her about his talk with Jay in turn and how things were going with them. She filled him in on some of the history of the Grudge Match and he told her about what was new with his group.
They made their way into the centre of the park where a large fountain stood. With the conversation still flowing, they sat down on the cement edge surrounding the water to take a little break from the sun.
That proved to be a mistake.
A few ducks were also enjoying the fountain around the other side. Bex and Mouse didn’t notice them at first, but Kol sure did.
The two of them had barely sat down when Kol let out a torrent of barks and leapt into the fountain, bounding toward the ducks.
At top speed.
While Bex was still holding onto the leash.
Before either of them could react, Bex was yanked backwards into the fountain. She had half a second to be think ‘at least I put my bag on the ground’ before she was fully immersed.
The power of Kol straining away made it a struggle to right herself at first, but after a few seconds she got herself into a seated position. Somehow, miraculously, still hanging onto the leash!
“Kol, stop!” she gargled and he paused his hunt long enough to return to her side, nudging her with his nose.
“Bex! Bex, are you okay?” Mouse’s voice made it through to her as the water began to drain out of her ears. A hand over her face helped wipe the water out of her eyes until she could make out Mouse crouching over her, an adorably concerned frown on his face.
“You came in too?” was all she managed to say.
Mouse blinked. “Yeah, I mean, uh, I couldn’t let you drown on our first da—walk, could I?” He helped her to her feet, one hand at her elbow, the other at the small of her back, holding her steady.
“I appreciate that.” Bex moved a little closer, trying to steal a bit of his warmth since he’d managed to only get soaked up to his knees.
Listen, if she had to suffer through the embarrassment of getting dunked by her dog, she could at least try to sneak a snuggle out of the whole thing.
Of course, it was then that Kol decided to try and go after the ducks from the other side.
He splashed past Bex and Mouse at top speed. She tried to keep a hold on him, calling out for him to stop, but got yanked off her feet again instead.
Taking Mouse down with her.
They both flailed for a minute before getting right side up. Bex had lost her grip on the leash, but the ducks had also been smart enough to fly away at this point so Kol was just jumping around in the water from one end of the fountain to the next.
She looked over at Mouse and he met her gaze dolefully. He was soaked, head to toe. Not that she was any better.
Kol barked, running by and hitting them with another wave of water.

Kol
play?
play play play play play play play play

Mouse
Bex burst into giggles. “I’m sorry,” she said, trying to muffle them. “Seriously, I’m—I’m so sorry. He’s a menace.”
He couldn’t even pretend to be put out when she was looking at him like that. Mouse shook his head, laughing with her. “Think we should try to catch him or let him tire himself out?”
Another lap from Kol sent another wave of water their way.
“Honestly?” Bex blew out a breath and attempted to push the wet hair out of her face. “I’m team let him tire himself out.”
He reached out to help tug an errant lock away from her cheek. “Fine by me,” he murmured as he tucked the strands behind her ear. This walk was turning out much better than he anticipated.
Bex smiled at him, raising her own hand to brush gently at the water dripping down his forehead. “We should get out of here though before we start to freeze.”
“Once we get him out, we can head back to my car,” Mouse said. “I’ve got an emergency blanket in the trunk. I can get you warmed up.”
“That’s quite the offer.” She raised an eyebrow at him, cheeks going pink, and he played back what he’d said in his head.
Crap.
“I mean—the blanket—uh, the blanket can—not me, directly—"
“Oh, my god,” Bex exclaimed when Kol’s next lap took him not only past them, but over them, nearly dunking them both all over again.
They sputtered their way over to the edge and Bex took one look at him before dissolving into helpless giggles once more. “We’re gonna need that blanket for sure,” she gasped.
Yeah. Mouse definitely had no problem spending his afternoon like this.
***
Will
The door to the apartment creaked open and he heard Kol’s hello barks answered by an “Oh, my god, what happened?” from Emery.
Sharing a concerned glance with Connor, he moved to pop his head out of the kitchen. Connor turned off the burner on the stove and followed closely behind.
Bex stood in the doorway, looking more than a little damp and bedraggled. What the—
Kol bounded over to slam into Will’s legs. He reached down to pet him only to discover that Kol was also disconcertingly damp.
“Did it rain?” he asked Bex, taking a quick look out the window. He was sure the forecast had been clear.
“Nope,” Bex said cheerfully. Her shoes squidged as she shucked them off by the door.
Will looked over at Emery who shrugged at him, eyes wide. He jerked his chin at her. Someone had to ask. She made a face at him and then turned back to Bex.
“How, um…how was your walk?”
Bex straightened up, a smile spreading across her face. “It was great, actually,” she said. “Really, really great.” She shouldered her bag and headed down the hallway toward her room, socks making little wet slaps along the floor.
The three of them watched her go.
“I want to know,” Will said. “But I also really don’t.”
Connor and Emery hummed in agreement.
He looked down at Kol. “Are you responsible for this?”
Kol barked, grinning up at him with that wide doggy smile before going into a deep stretch and shaking out his fur. Little droplets of water flew everywhere.
“Menace,” Will sighed, heading back into the kitchen for the doggy treats.

Complaining about the love triangle in Wednesday, and complaining about Xavier and Tyler's (but mostly Xavier's) existence as characters. Spoilers and bitching below the cut.
I just don’t understand how two characters with actual superpowers managed to be so boring and unoriginal. Especially Xavier, who was already established as having a connection with Wednesday from their childhood. And considering his superpowers, they could have made it so that his personality compliments his superpowers, like we see with other characters.
Bianca is a siren, so she’s charismatic, confident, and ruthless. It makes sense that the school’s queen bee is a siren. Enid is a werewolf, so her personality is exactly like that of an energetic puppy; she’s friendly, sociable, but she’s also got more than a bit of a temper when provoked.
Xavier can make his artwork come to life, but he also has prophetic dreams, so he’s… mopey and emotionless. He’s not even creepy.
Since we know that he and Wednesday met when they were children, he could have been creepy and macabre like her and the rest of her family. If Xavier was allowed to be creepy or even remotely weird, he would have made for a nice contrast to the other characters’ friendliness while also giving Wednesday something familiar to help her navigate an unfamiliar environment.
Xavier also could have been one of the reasons why Wednesday would actually want to stay at Nevermore aside from the murder mystery she feels compelled to solve. While Wednesday does grow to love and appreciate characters like Enid and Eugene, at the start, Wednesday and Enid have basically nothing in common, and Enid seems to just get on her nerves more than anything else.
If you went the creepy, kooky and altogether ooky route with Xavier’s personality, Enid could then be the friend that gets Wednesday out of her comfort zone, while Xavier could be the friend that she just feels naturally comfortable with. She’d have someone that she could trade banter and dark jokes with, the only person that isn’t immediately put-off by her, the first person she meets outside of her family that would just get her. Then the romance between them would actually make sense.
And they could have done this!
One of Wednesday’s first real smiles of the series is when Xavier reminds her of the day they met at the funeral. But no. Xavier had to spend the rest of the season being weirdly infatuated with Wednesday, despite him having no reason to be, and also playing into the “nice guy” trope when Wednesday doesn’t return his feelings.
The show never even attempts to make you care about either Xavier or Tyler. Sure, Tyler has dead mom syndrome, but Tyler never expresses how he actually feels about it. He never reminisces on any fond memories he might have had of his mother or anything he knows about her, a fact that is especially weird in a show that uses family to develop its characters.
Wednesday is a character basically defined by the family she’s apart of, and in the show she is desperate to get out from her parents’ shadow (a weird choice, but at least a choice was made). But more than that, it’s established that she readily protects people from bullies because of the way her brother was bullied at school. While she states that she wants nothing more than to escape her parents’ shadow, it’s also shown that she inherited a lot of her interests and values from her parents, and that she would not be the person she is without them.
Enid’s biggest insecurity is the fact that she hasn’t “wolfed out” yet like the rest of her siblings, and that it has estranged her from her family and made her a source of disappointment for her mother.
Bianca’s whole character conflict is the fact that her mother is a cult leader that uses her siren abilities to manipulate her followers, and she’s trying to make Bianca follow in her footsteps, which Bianca fiercely rebels against.
But Xavier? We know literally nothing about his family, his past, or if he even has a life outside of Wednesday. Like, the only story from his past is the story of how he met Wednesday. We later learn that he and Bianca used to date, but why? We never learn the reason why they got together, but we know the reason they broke up: Xavier dumped her because he thought she was using her Siren powers on him (which she wasn’t). Great, so the only thing we learn from that is that Xavier is a racist dick and that Bianca, apparently, has no taste in men, considering that she spends a frustratingly long amount of time trying to get back together with him.
The reveal of this relationship only brings up more questions than it actually answers. Why did they get together? What did Bianca ever see in Xavier? Why did Xavier get into a relationship with her in the first place if the reason he broke up with her was because he thought she was manipulating him? But also, what evidence did he have to come to this conclusion in the first place? Especially if we know that Bianca wasn’t manipulating him?? Which, if we’re following that line of thought, what did Xavier even like about Bianca? All we ever learn about their relationship is one line of dialogue from Bianca, where she says that they were “good together”, but were they? How? It just doesn’t make any sense, and it’s really stupid.
The more I think about Xavier as a character, the angrier he makes me, because he really was just so unnecessary. The only use he has is to set up a love triangle and be an alternative suspect in Wednesday’s investigation. Basically, he only exists to get framed and make Wednesday feel vaguely guilty about inadvertently arresting the wrong person.

Family Business
For @flashfictionfridayofficial #FFF225 - I Can't Tell
617 words
"So what's this about you and Matt not being available on weekend nights?" Evan asked. He had been waving his pencil in his hand but it was still now, held ready to write.
"Uh, yeah," I stammered. "We aren't." My shoulders were tense now, hands planted in the plush carpet on either side of my laptop.
"But why?" He was using the same tone on me that I had heard him use with tricky interview subjects, the ones who were a pain to get good quotes from.
I chewed at my lips. What was the cover story here? I hadn't bothered to remember that lie as much, since I never really hung out with people outside of school in the first place. "What did Matt tell you?"
Evan shrugged. "MacKenzie just said he couldn't hang out on Friday and Saturday nights, and that it was a family thing."
"Family thing," I said. "Yeah, family game night. Very exclusive. Very mandatory. Helena and Kath want us to have bonding time, so we can feel like a 'normal' family."
"Really?" Evan's voice had an uptick I didn't like. "Because Matt said it was family dinner, not a game night."
I tilted my head, right then left. "Dinner with games. Same thing." I squinted at him, inspecting his face: careful neutrality. "You said he said it was just a 'family thing.' Why the interrogation?"
"Why did you ask me what he said before you answered?" he countered.
I stood my ground, peering at him over the lip of my laptop screen. The pencil picked up its beat again, and Evan finally crumpled a few moments later. He threw it down onto his textbook to mark his place and shut it, shoving it aside. Evan prodded at my laptop, and I saved my work and shut the screen too. I sat up so our eyes were even.
"You—well, you and Matt and everyone—there's just something missing about you all. Like they're something you're leaving out." Evan kept staring off into the air, like he was searching for the right words to say.
I huffed. "We're adopted, Evan. We're not going to be the most open about our childhoods or family situations or whatever."
"No, it's not that. It's not about your past. It's about your present. Like you're withholding something about you now. What are you hiding?"
He looked me in the eyes now, his gaze piercing straight through my skin. I feel like he was peeling back my forehead to read "has secret superpowers and a superhero alternate identity" engraved on my skull. It was unnerving.
What lie was there to tell? He knew there was a secret, but I didn't have any bones to throw him to keep him satisfied. Evan had the makings of a fantastic investigative reporter: he wouldn't stop pulling at the threads until they were unraveled in front of him.
"I . . . I can't tell you." I said, my walls crumbling. His face twisted for a moment—shock? Hurt?-- before he smoothed it back into something more neutral. "I know that's hard to hear, and it's not that I don't trust you. I just . . . I can't tell you, for reasons. It's nothing bad, just family business that I can't really share."
Evan nodded, chewing at his lip. I could tell that he wanted to ask me more, but he was holding himself back, respecting my boundaries.
"I'm sorry for lying to you before," I said.
"It's okay, I understand. Thank you for telling me the truth—or some of it, now." He held his hand out for a fistbump. "Friends, still?"
I smiled and reached out to brush my knuckles against his. "Yeah. Friends."

B-day gift for @gremlins--motel based on an an amazing wfsn commission @ironicorange did for them.
Summary: Ivan gives in to Alfred's dick crushing whims.
Rating: Explicit 18+
Alfred hated Ivan. Hated his commie ideals, his fake smiles, his constant assurances to the American that he was the more superior superpower. The man got under his skin like no one else ever had and knew more about him than any enemy ever should. Because of that, another meeting of faux peace talks between their bosses left the two to their own devices and that never ended well.
Take the situation right now. A normal person would be sat with their diplomatic opponent maybe discussing the political happenings in the world or perhaps even just where they went out to dinner last night, but no. Alfred's not a normal person and neither is Ivan.
"Ghh fuck harder!"
Here, alone with the Russian in a simplistic board room, Alfred kneels on thin, cigarette smoke stained carpet. Ivan stands above him with a much too smug expression, pleased as punch in their current positions. The only thing keeping him from punching that shitty look off his face was the heavy, steel-toed boot that lay between his legs.
"You make such pretty sounds Alfred~ I want to ring them out for hours."
Alfred grinds his teeth to keep himself from snapping back. It's a bad habit from his childhood that he thought he had curbed, but of course Ivan was always the one to bring out the worst in him.
When the Russian's foot presses down harder, Alfred’s has to dig his fingers into Ivan's leg deeper for any sort of false sense of control over the situation. He couldn't even begin to imagine the pathetic sight he was, panting over his enemy's boot as it crushes his dick within his khakis.
"Drooling like the mutt you are, I wish I could take a picture of this moment to last forever," he brings a hand to Alfred's face to wipe at the spit on his chin. With a giggle, Ivan tilts his head to stare up at him almost reminiscent of a god, "Maybe my doggy needs something to chew on~"
Before Alfred could question him, two fingers push past his lips to settle on his tongue. It was almost automatic, the way his mouth closes around the digits and suck. The taste of the old worn leather gloves makes him cringe, but he still doesn't let go, in fact, he just takes him deeper down his throat.
Ivan let's out a pleased hum at the man's obedience and rewards him by rocking his foot against his thrusting hips. Alfred's eyes fall lidded and vision blurs as he grows closer with each rub from heel to toe.
"If only you'd let me make you this beautiful everyday," he presses especially hard on the tip of his cock, "but in the meantime, I will just have to cherish moments like these. Now cum for me Fedya."
He'd lie to himself later and say it was just perfect timing, but there was no denying the fact that he came on Ivan's command. His boxers were very quickly soiled as he practically deep throats the fingers still lingering in his mouth.
The second Ivan removes his hand and foot, Alfred immediately turns his head away to hock the bitter taste of fabric off his tongue and sit back on his aching haunches. When he looks back to Ivan, he's surprised by the big guy's bulge just inches from his face. A hand grabs the back of his head, knocking his cap off and holding him in place.
"We are not finished yes? I still have a use for that pretty mouth of yours~"

i think the thing i wanted the most from this ending was guidance. i know that’s weird to say, but as someone that was moved by scenes like “loneliness is what hurts most” and takamichi being a 27 year old loser in a run down apartment with a job that didn’t live up to his potential, i just felt like tokyo revengers was on to something.
i thought it would be about all those mistakes, and disappointments, and childhood trauma and taking all that shit and proving that it’s never too late to turn things around.
but it was too late.
none of us can go back in time and fix what’s broken. we can’t fix what our parents did to us or what opportunities we didn’t take or what people we pushed away. we can’t change our past behaviors.
we can only move forward and learn from them.
so what the fuck?
so (personal real life story) one of my family members was adopted and had no contact with her genetic family. she randomly gets contacted by her real dad out of the blue, and it turns out he wants to meet her for the first time since she was a baby.
his family had to give her up when she was a child. her mom died during childbirth, and that left him with 3 (i think) kids to take care of and feed on his own. he decided she was one too many.
so he calls her after 20 plus years, and my family member (i don’t want to be specific about which one due to privacy concerns), decides she doesn’t wanna see him. doesn’t wanna talk to him. she turns down the offer, and he dies without ever reconciling.
are you trying to tell me that neither of them are going to have a happy ending, any closure, unless she can figure out how to time travel and undo all that shit that’s happened?
what about something simpler? something easier? is wakui trying to say that my life will be hard for the rest of my life because i turned down that job opportunity i was too scared to take when I was 17?
so if you catch me being salty about the ending, just know this is what it’s about. it wasn’t a stupid game or just another manga to me. this manga showed up in front of me when i got kicked out of my parents house for standing up to the abuse and was forced to pick up the bill for a shitty studio apartment probably worse than takamichi’s.
like i get what it’s like to have nothing. i get what it’s like to have nothing. i cant go back in time.
so what the fuck was this story about, wakui? ‘cause it’s definitely not about proving it’s never too late to change your life. and it’s def not about trying to save the girl. so…?
and erasing everyone’s scars? yea, that’s just great. because that’s what it takes to live a happy life huh. the scars have to go. anything that suggests struggle, or pain, or trauma, or anything more than a slight blemish just doesn’t have room in this happy future.
cool. so i should just give up right now, right? because that’s what your main character would do if he didn’t have superpowers.
at least deku proved he could be a hero without them. at least deku earned them. takamichi got lucky. not everyone can be so lucky.

do you have anything like a doc of information abt sdau? i think it looks really interesting and id love to know more about it + the characters :D
OH ANON YOURE SO SWEET. tbqh i should make one. but context is it was made as a collaborative effort between me and my friends like. 2.5 years ago so its not just my baby. but i really do want to get like. the basics at LEAST down so that people understand the vague plot/vibes.
tl;dr? a bunch of superpowered young adults are just so bad at having interpersonal relationships (more detailed but still basic vers under the cut)
(ps: ive written some stuff about these guys! a lot of its on my ao3, noalarmz! fair warning some of it sucks. i also wrote rubbing alcohol for a creative writing project, and i think it fucks. alcoholism tw)
the characters: (ica)rus: has wings that can burst into flame, but its not like something he can. turn off. so its basically a self-destruct button. strict moral compass, wants to stop vernon, acts as a kind of "hero" for the city. very self-destructive in their pursuit of justice, and overly self-sacrificial (vernon thinks he's selfish for this. it's a whole thing.) vernon valentine: has sound manipulation powers, also deer antlers. dead set on killing narrator and replacing her. very fucked up from his ex girlfriend (who they killed. um) and projects a lot of that + their need for control onto kan. basically he's a very awful toxic friend and also causes problems around the city to get narrator's attention narrator: a very, very old, near all powerful person, but nonetheless, she is still human. her power is complete matter manipulation, meaning she can regenerate her body, being functionally immortal. shes mega op, but she Isn't Actually a god (vernon thinks she is though) she has absorbed a intangible Presence into her mind known as Underscore, which is basically omniscience itself. it fucks her up a little bit. líf erling: a time traveler who travels non-linearly through narrator's timeline. they have a very tragic romance together, due to the fact that when underscore enters narrator's mind, she becomes aware of her own death, which puts um. a strain. on the relationship. kan komarov: he has telekinesis on any non-sentient objects, barring himself! he has. attachment issues. and latches onto vernon HARDSTYLE. is it platonic? is it romantic? is it sexual? you decide. he would basically do anything for them and is fully committed to his plan to kill narrator. kris(ten) clark: a childhood friend of kan's! her power is that she can create purple crystals from the palm of her hand but they do not have good control over it so. oops they did crystallize their friends arm once. which weighs on her. she really cares about kan, so is willing to tolerate vernon, but eventually they just cant take it anymore and leave. better at escaping the cycle than kan is printz o'harte: rus's closest friend. he has emotional telepathy, meaning he can sense everyone's emotions At All Times. which is um. a tad overwhelming. he builds robots to help rus. oops looks like kan has a crush on him (much less intense than his. Emotions for vernon but yk hes got a lil crush <3) he also has been in communication with narrator, because they understand the whole. my mind is loud all the time thing cato crux: she had electric powers! note the past tense because she is DEAD!! she's vernons aforementioned ex, and while they were together, they worked together, trying to take down narrator (kan is kind of her replacement) but uh. then narrator decided to contact cato. and cato realized that she wasnt a god. and vernon, feeling betrayed and hurt and angry, uh. killed her ass. sad! eve singh: stretchy limbs. childhood friends with kan and kris. she and kan were roommates for awhile, until kan met vernon and drifted away from her. she still resents him for this. cherry sinclair: childhood friends with eve, kan, and kris. they're the friend who lost their arm to kris. they dont blame her, but she sure blames herself. they have control over metal, which is helpful in making their own prosthetics.
oh man thats already so much. heres the basic plot beats though
rivalry between rus and vernon established, they clash
during a confrontation, kan becomes interested in printz
kris realizes how Awful her situation is, and that kan has begun to be terrible also, runs away
kan goes into a MAJOR DEPRESSION even more reliant on vernon now, his interest in printz increases cause he wants to replace kris
printz entertains this on rus's advice, so that he could collect information on vernon through kan. this works.
kan is heartbroken AGAIN. sad.
he goes into a manic episode and burns down his old elementary school (it was abandoned but still)
the climax. kan and kris reunite, he apologizes and starts to realize the hold vernon has on him (still loyal tho)
vernon thinks theyre being betrayed again and goes to attack kan
sensing this, printz stops him, giving rus a chance to swoop in snatch vernon into the air.
they decide to sacrifice themself, and his wings burst into flame, killing both himself and vernon.
somewhere in there, narrator also dies i forgot how i gotta ask eloise (she made narrator)
heres where the timeline diverges a little? but in the Good Ending kan and kris are able to heal from their fuckups and become normal friends again, and kan and printz are able to explore the idea of a relationship outside of the confines of their established roles
in the other, kan is so devestated from vernon's death that he starts hallucinating vernon's ghost, jake english/fight club style. this ghost convinces him to dig up vernon's corpse and, using some remnant of narrator, he brings them back to life. but yk. vernon is all fucked up now, dependent on kan and broken by the experience of death. eventually kan realizes that vernon a) was bad for him and b) is not the same vernon who came back and asks kris to. dispose of them. she happily obliges
BONUS SHIT:
if you ever saw me draw a pink haired guy w nice tits and his gamer girlboyfriend, that's aj (pink) and quinn (gamer) they're only vaguely canon to sdau and were originally escape room 2 ocs (yes, really)
in high school (pre transition) kan was a pretty popular youtube cosplayer named Kotdere (kot- from the russian word for cat and -dere from. dere tropes in anime) when he disappeared off the face of the internet there was a lot of confusion
during this time he had an online gf. that was quinn. quinn goes on to be like. the jerma of this universe and gets a hot of streamer boyfriend (aj)
eve gets a girlfriend, victoria! she made those like. true crime/unsolved mystery vids. eve helps her make one on "the disappearance of kotdere?? what REALLY happened"
narrator's story is really beautiful and crazy and i did not at ALL make it so def def def ask @/lovelyisthedawn about her <3
vernon/kan is evil yaoi and vernon/kris is evil yuri. you agree
some ship names (not necessarily rom just relationships)
vernon/kan: high and mighty kan/kris: rock kandy vernon/kris: punkrock printz/kan: palm to palm cato/vernon: tyrannicides narrator/líf: ragnarok probably missed some these are the ones i remember </3

Character ask game! I hope I can ask for 3 if it's too much, choose one you want: Yuuji, Kenjaku, Megumi
Thanks for the ask! Say no more, I know exactly which questions you want answered 😁 Usually I barely think about Megumi at all, so that's gonna be interesting
Kenjaku:
22. When do you think they were at their lowest?
In the 1500s, right after they realized that simply killing the Star Plasma Vessel and six eyes user won't break the circle of reincarnation. They spend 500 years planning, believing that now they finally understood Tengen's secret and how to overcome them, being genre savvy and "killing the hero before they become strong enough". Only to find out that once they get to Tengen, both of their biggest obstacles are back due to some obscure binding vow. Going from the greatest joy of having their goal within reach to another crushing defeat.
Yuuji:
2. When I truly started to like him
I liked from the start, but I especially grew attached to him during the fight in the detention centre. He tries to turn his fear into strength, but still all it does is get him gravely injured and when he thought he could pull a shonen mc move and rely on the "demon" inside him, he dies and his friends almost die as well. That's when I knew this was gonna become interesting and Akutami had some unconventional plans for Yuuji.
10. Describe the character in one sentence
Superpowered teenager with shady origins just tries to help people and die a proper death, but somehow the whole universe has sworn to put him through as much pain as possible.
14. Best storyline they had
I answer this in another ask.
16. A childhood headcanon
We know he's bad at science subjects and high school gets even more difficult, so Wasuke wanted to give him one of Kaori's old physics textbooks because she wrote a lot of solutions and little side notes in them, but as soon as Yuuji found out who the book belonged to, he turned his grandpa away and proceeded to fail his next text. Wasuke probably alluded to the sketchiness of his mother a few times in the past and that came to bite him here.
20. A weird headcanon
There's already so much weirdness about Yuuji, it's tough to come up with something new. He definitely ate dirt as a kid, but that's kind of a given. Maybe...he tried to bleach his dark hair a few times to get it uniformly pink, but he didn't apply the bleach correctly and the colour was cheap, so it just ended up looking awful.
24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?
I answer this in another ask.
29. How do you think they would be as a parent?
Assuming he gets over his self-hatred enough to not think that he would curse (literally or otherwise) any child he would put into the world and assuming he got over his inhibitions regarding family, I think he would want to make sure to spend as much time with his kid as possible. Doesn't even have to be a specific activity, just being around each other a lot. He'd also adopt a lot of his grandpa's lectures and habits, but slightly modify them like "don't pick your nose or make sure no one notices you doing it". The kid is also 100% turn into a gambling addict like everyone in that family.
Megumi:
2. When I truly started to like/dislike him
I feel very neutral about him. Don't particularly like him, but don't dislike him either. I think I was the most interested in him however during the Death Painting arc. Finding out more about his background put a lot of things into context and I thought the first time he went crazy and tried to cast his domain was very metal. Seeing him kill people for the first time was also nice. Since then my interest has gradually waned though, except for how he relates to Yuuji, Tsumiki and Sukuna.
10. Describe the character in one sentence
All the clan genetics and techniques in the world can't help you if Sukuna has his eye on you.
14. Best storyline they had
Getting clowned by Yorozu for not noticing his sister was possessed and then immediately getting his body snatched himself. Idk, none of his storylines besides his backstory had a lasting impact on me.
16. A childhood headcanon
He never really tried to get close to Tsumiki and always looks grumpy in flashbacks, so I assume whenever Tsumiki told him to wash dishes, do the laundry or clean the bathroom, he'd give her a stink eye and then proceed to do what he's told in the most passive-aggressively way possible. During his more rebellious periods he tried not doing it at all because who's his sister to tell him what to do, but she won't do the work for him and he doesn't like living in filth, so he eventually relented.
20. A weird headcanon
He cuts his hair himself, that's why it looks Like That.
24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?
Well, a secret he certainly never told Tsumiki is that he cares about her. He also hasn't told anyone yet that he thinks they shouldn't trust Tengen or the Backdoor, but that's understandable, it would spoil the surprise.
29. How do you think they would be as a parent?
He needs to work a lot on his socializing the next years if he's ever even hoping to have a positive relationship with his child. He would care about them and help them whenever he can, but he can be very withdrawn and distant. Children aren't that emotionally intelligent, so his behaviour could easily be read by them as him not caring beyond conventional niceties and especially during the teenage years that could lead to a lot of tension. His partner would have to do a lot of heavy lifting in that regard.

Why Number Six (and Queen Bee) would have been better in the Main Series of “My Hero Academia”
Dear Random Folk: Hey, you mentioned you would switch the villain MHA and BNHA:V; would you expand on that.
Me: Sure! I’ll get to it later.
Tumblr media
Dear Random Folk: Hey, are you going to talk about Six and Shiggy soon?
Me: Eh, I’ll get to it eventually.
Tumblr media
Dear Random Folk: So, now?
Me: Sure! Just give me a minute!
Tumblr media
Okay, so we’ve been waiting a while to get to this. (All I had to do was get a mild fever.)
Okay! So, surprisingly a lot of people have taken an interest in something I said about why the villains in “My Hero Academia” and “MHA: Illegals / Vigilantes” should be switched. Everyone was super patient, and I’m really grateful for it, so here’s the post!
Now, before reading, keep in mind that this is all opinion based. Also, you’re going to be seeing a lot of “what I would have done” or “they should have done this.” This isn’t me saying that I’m better than the author (I’m not. I constantly struggle with my fanfics). This is just me discussing some things for fun.
(In other words, take it with a grain of salt.)
And please keep in mind that the Main Series is still ongoing and nearly 400 chapters long, while the Spin-off is nearly 130, so I may get some things wrong. (If that’s the case, please be polite in your corrections. Otherwise, you'll be ignored and blocked.)
Notes:
*Spoilers!
**My Hero Academia Main Series
**My Hero Academia: Vigilantes / Illegals
*Some Tomura Shigaraki Critical
**Some of these elements may come off as anti. That’s not my intention, but fuck it.
*Long Post, which is why there are no images
*I am writing this while sick (not sick-sick, but sick enough) so grammar may be off and I may forget a few things.
So, here’s a quick summary on both the main antagonists and the protagonist.
Let’s start with our adorable hero first;
Midoriya Izuku is a young lad with hopes and dreams of becoming a hero like the greatest hero of them all, All Might. However, Izuku was sadly born without a superpower in a world where over 80% of the population has one. This not only resulted in him being viciously bullied by those around him—including a kid he considered his friend--but it makes his dream of becoming a hero impossible. Even so, rather than give up, Izuku keeps his dreams alive and studies everything he can about heroes while hoping for a miracle. One day, when his bullies are particularly cruel, Izuku is attacked by a sludge villain, which nearly suffocates him intending to hide in his corpse. Out of the best of luck, Izuku is not only saved but he is saved by All Might! After this, shenanigans happen, and Izuku discovers that All Might’s true form is a skinny giraffe—I mean, a thin, “frail,” sunflower man! Here, Izuku asks if he thinks a quirkless can be a hero. All Might, after sharing his past, gently tells the boy doesn’t believe so. However, he changes his mind later when Izuku rushes to save the worst of his bullies from the same villain that tried to kill him. Despite being terrified and knowing he may die, he still gives his all to save some who earlier had told him to kill himself. This action lights a spark in All Might, and after saving the two, he lets Izuku in on another secret; His quirk can be passed on to others, and Izuku’s heroic act inspired All Might to take Izuku on as a successor! After a year of training, Izuku improves his body and proves his determination to work hard for his goals. However, even after he gets his quirk, it isn’t easy. The quirk is not only too powerful for his body, but it comes with several other quirks, as well. As such, Izuku spends the series trying to learn to properly use his quirk and become a hero and a proper successor to All Might’s legacy.
Now on to our dastardly villains!
Number Six was a normal boy with a severe case of agnosia, a disorder surmised to be caused by severe childhood trauma that left him with no sense of self. All for One, the overall big bad of the series, used this condition to morph Number Six into a tool for his needs. He had Six pick out a hero he liked and imagine him as a mentor so he could become his own version of that person, even being given that person's quirk. (It’s worth mentioning that, at this time, AFO still had a working body and face, which is why he didn’t bother to make Six a mini-me. Though, is it just me, or is this all overly complicated?) The hero Six chose was “‘O clock.” 'O Clock an underground hero with the power to accelerate his brain's perception to extreme speeds, making it appear to him as if the world was moving in slow motion. Six worked as a lackey for All for One for years, helping with the trigger drugs and using them to make people lose control of their quirks. As well as kidnapping other innocent people to turn them into a version of nomus. (The manga calls them “trigger villains” or “Next-Level instant villains” but fuck it. They’re NOMUS, just a different type. [FIGHT ME.] This is also what happened to Spinner, btw. But more on that later.) Out of nowhere, like REALLY out of nowhere, he falls for Pop*Step (a contrived plot, but that’s another post.). After she rejects him, Six gets her possessed by Queen Bee, turning her into Bee*Pop, who destroys the city with Bee bombs. There he decides to debut as a “hero” and take his place as 6 ‘o Clock, 'O Clock’s successor. However, this plan is ruined by both Koichi and Endeavor. (Mainly Endeavor, who burns him the fuck alive, but he focuses on Koichi for narrative reasons.) After Koichi saves Pop*Step, Six makes a final attack on Naruhauta. There he unleashes an army of Anonymous Goons to cause trouble before using all his powers to try and kill Koichi. Eventually, with the combined powers of All Might, Endeavor, and Koichi, Six is on the verge of death. Instead of retreating to heal, he goes to find Koichi. After giving him a scar so the latter will always remember him, Six kills himself.
The final villain, and the best and most terrifying if only she was given better writing, but that’s another post, is Kuin Hachisuka, the Queen Bee. The Queen Bee is a mysterious figure who takes the form of a swarm of bees that possesses young teenage girls. In BNHA: V, she takes hold of Tamao, the daughter of Knuckle Duster. She uses her bee quirk to spread around the Trigger drug, collect blood samples, and even set off bombs. One day Knuckle Duster tracks her down and tears out the “Queen Bee” before killing it. However, one of the bees escapes, allowing her to survive. This bee is caught and kept by Six till he brings her Pop Step, who she controls. Koichi saves Pop Step, however, and she is taken to the hospital, where the “Queen Bee” is removed and kept in a jar. (I know her summary is short, but trust me, she’s one of the best BNHA villains who actually does shit.)
Now that we have the basic intros, let’s move on to the reason we’re here; Why do I think that the villains should be switched? As well as some plot points? Well, the first reason is that these two villains best fit the tone of MHA. My Hero Academia is supposed to be a comic superhero story with a school and Shounen element. Everything is supposed to be a bit “out there” with little reality. Basically, a superhero fantasy. Six and the Queen Bee would fit better in that genre than Shiggy.
The plot with Six and the Bee Queen fits better in BNHA as their personal plots are about the nomus / the brainwashed villains of AFO. They are literally going around and turning ordinary people into monsters. It also fits AFO’s theme of taking advantage of normal and desperate people, who have no one to turn to, then twisting them into monsters. We see this with Spinner; Spinner was the victim of discrimination and, out of everyone in the LoV, he was the only one with actual noble intentions. However, as soon as AFO got his hands on him, he turned Spinner into a next-level instavillain. (No, really! Go to the wiki and compare the current Spinner to them! He checks nearly all the boxes.) Worse, he crushed his mind and made him a mindless follower who barely remembers what he was forced into. Queen Bee and Six create the Insta-Villains and are a part of the experimentation process. As a bonus, Six has the “bomber villain” genes in his body as well, making a form of Nomu. So, having them in MHA would tie everything with the villains together while having the villains contribute to the plot. (More on that later.) The reason why this is important is that Nomus are the ones that carry the threat and the emotional impact for the main cast. Kurogiri connects to Aizawa and shows that AFO has not only been stealing corpses but has been eyeing UA students especially, which connects to UA. And the Bat Nomu is a personal connection to Izuku and Bakagou, who are both major players. And we know Dabi’s connection to the plot. Meanwhile, the Trigger Villain plot line explains what’s happening to Spinner. See how well the two would fit? Moving Queen Bee and Six, as well as the insta-villains plot line to MHA, would give a lot of answers without the overuse of exposition. It would also considerably up the stakes for when All Might retired. New villains are popping up every day, and now the most powerful hero retired. This would put a severe strain between the heroes and civilians. The heroes not only have to deal with the stress of picking up All Might’s slack, but now they have to learn to tell the difference between civilians that were corrupted and real villains. The tension can build till it accumulates to the destruction of the city, which serves as the final breaking point. (Don’t get me wrong, I understand that the city’s destruction was supposed to be a sudden and unexpected event, but still.) In BNHA:V, it feels like two different stories are going on that occasionally bump into each other. Maybe that was the point, but it’s not as interesting, in my opinion.
Speaking of possibilities, let’s talk about Queen Bee. There are so many things she could bring to the story.
I already spoke of her work with the trigger villains, but there’s another way that’s more personal to the heroes. Namely, she could bring the danger to them.
She could sneak into U.A. under the guise of a teenage girl and is always around other students that she could take out in a heartbeat. Or could possess someone already in the cast, such as Toru, as no one, except maybe Ojiro, would notice a thing. And having Kuin take control of one of the Class 1-A girls, or having her infiltrate them, would give Class 1-A a personal stake in the war, which readers would eat up.
As of now, everyone is just fighting the villains because they attack them (with dumb plans, btw. But that’s a different post). However, if Kuin took or was one of their own, suddenly there’s a personal stake. With the former, a friend was hurt and brainwashed under their very noses, yet they never noticed. With the latter, someone they trusted and held dear was a vile villain all along, doing horrible things while pretending to be their friend. Either one would light a fire within all of them to get payback and give them a stake in the war.
Plus, if the discovery happens before Izuku leaves U.A., it could add to his reasons.
Don’t get me wrong, Izuku’s reasons aren’t bad, but they could be stronger. And Kuin would do that!
Because now there’s extra emotional guilt. Someone Izuku knew and thought was a friend was actually a villain who possessed an innocent with the purpose of getting close to him or All Might. The enemy was right in front of him, ready to cut his throat, yet Izuku never noticed.
As is, Izuku left because someone MIGHT have gotten hurt because of him. In this case, he leaves because someone did. And it’s a lot stronger than someone getting hurt on a battlefield. When you’re fighting, you expect danger and people to get hurt. It's still devastating but expected.
At U.A., Izuku thought he and everyone else was safe. They were supposed to be safe, and for a while, everyone believed they were. Having Queen Bee rip that rug from under him would be devastating and would prompt Izuku to push everyone away as his sense of security, for himself and others, was destroyed.
Oh, and to the few wondering, couldn’t Tago do that in canon? The answer is no. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Tago has a time limit on her Quirk and would need to “refuel” every so often. Therefore, resources would have to be used to keep a prisoner alive and to get the blood to Tago through massive security. Plus, Tago doesn’t have the acting skills needed to play someone else 24/7. Note I said 24/7. I know that she can act for a time.
Kuin, on the other hand, could act 24/7 as she has a literal bee army to do her work. This gives her something only Twice would have; mobility. But I’m getting off-topic.
There are also two underlining themes in MHA that make Kuin perfect for the story; The first is a bunch of different types of people coming together for the common good to help people by using their individual “quirks.” Having the heroes fight against someone with a literal hive mind who steals others' identities and quirks would heighten that. More importantly, there is an underlining theme of identity in the series. Both our heroes AND our villains struggle with that in a way. On the villain’s side, Twice has no idea who he is after his clones massacre each other, and he is always searching for where he belongs. Tago’s identity struggles come from “wanting to be herself” while her quirk pushes her to become other people, as well as her past, where her parents forced her to act like someone else entirely. Compress desires to take on his family legacy and hides his own face the entire time. Spinner had an identity, but it was twisted by AFO when he brainwashed him into an Insta-Villain / nomu. Dabe’s whole tragedy started when circumstances took something Touya had placed his entire self on, till he lost himself and became Dabe. Then there is Kurogiri, whose identity was stolen, and there are hints of him taking it back. Then there’s AFO who's attempting to steal Shiggy’s body, but let’s save him for later.
On the hero's side, there’s Shoto, who’s struggling to be his own person and break away from his father's control to become his own person while seeing his father for who he is. Following him is Tenya, who’s carrying his family legacy on his back, and Yuga, who has to pretend to be someone else. In a way, there's Toru—who is a break of pace as, despite being invisible, knows who she is and has more confidence in herself than anyone. There’s even a semblance of an identity arc with Bakagou, who learns that maybe he’s not so great, tries to examine his past actions, and do somewhat better in the future. Not to mention there’s All Might, who struggles to find his place in the world now that he’s no longer the number 1 hero. And let’s not forget about Izuku! However, we'll wait a bit to talk about him.
The point is that identity is a rather large--albeit unspoken--theme in MHA, and because of that, Queen Bee would be perfect for the reasons already stated.
Speaking of an identity crisis, let’s talk about Six finally, shall we?
It’s interesting how little has to be changed for Six and Shiggy to switch places in the series. You can easily have Six in Shiggy’s place and it would fit. Actually, having Six as Nana’s grandson would fit his personal story better than Shiggy’s.
Seriously, the fact that Shiggy is Nana’s grandson has almost no effect on Shiggy’s arc. All it is in the story is a feeble way to give Shiggy a connection to Izuku and All Might. Yet, it’s so weak that you can give that plot point to any character, and it has the same emotional weight. (Okay, there's some story weight as it’s supposed to be why AFO decides to make Shiggy his “successor,” but again; weak.)
Nana has no effect on Shiggy. He doesn’t even know who she is! Which is dumb on AFO’s part, if you think about it, as he could have used that knowledge to make Shiggy hate All Might even more.
“Hey, Shiggy? Remember that your dad was an abusive asshole? Well, here’s why; your grandma ditched him to raise All Might instead.” Boom. Instantly, there’s a reason for Shiggy to be Nana’s grandson. Not only that, Shiggy now has a personal reason to hate All Might—and heroes. Because now all his pain is because of All Might. And that hatred extends to Izuku now, who carries his grandmother's soul in him. But I digress.
Six being Nana’s grandson works better as Six wants to be a hero. And to make this stronger? Change it so that the hero he wants to “become” is All Might instead of O’Clock. These two changes do a lot of things that are important to the narrative; First, with his personality, he would instantly focus on All Might and Izuku because that quirk should rightfully be his. After all, it belonged to his grandmother, right? It should have been given to him, not some quirkless kid! He should be All Might’s protege! Instantly there is a “rival” connection between Izuku and Six; Six wants OFA, which he believes will not only make him a hero but is also “rightfully” his in his mind. Six is also a great mirror to Izuku. Both have heroes they admire so much that they try to emulate them, something that is shown to be unhealthy in both cases. The difference is that Izuku grows out of this and even comes to see his hero for the person he is. Six never does. Till the very end, he clings to his ideal of O’ Clock and even the idea of becoming like him, even after meeting the real thing. This brings me back to the theme of identity;
Six, because of AFO’s manipulations and mental trauma, has no sense of self (so they claim). In his entire arc, he tries to create an identity for himself. He takes great pains to craft a narrative and an image for himself and gets upset when circumstances foil that. The thing is, he wants to become someone else and doesn’t even think about who HE is. That’s why Six needed to fight Izuku. Izuku admired All Might so much and even tried to emulate him at the beginning, which we see not only held Izuku back but hindered him from growing. It was only when he took what he learned from others and made it his own that Izuku started to grow and thrive. He became his own person, but by the end, Six didn’t. Instead, he became faceless, to the point where no one ever knew who he was, even when he died. He’s just a villain that will be forgotten by everyone except Koichi. And he knew it, which is why he gave Koichi the scar. So he’d remember Six every time he saw that scar. Even then, Koichi has no idea who Six was. Izuku, on the other hand, will be remembered. He will be remembered by friends, family, and those he helped. Izuku—like Six—may be carrying on a mantle and a legacy but he’s still Deku / Izuku is still his own person. (To strengthen this theme, I would have had it that Izuku’s personality can be affected by the quirk he’s using.) This is what would make Izuku and Six’s rivalry powerful to me.
They both want the same thing; to be like their heroes and carry on their legacy. However, one grows and becomes their own person. The other doesn’t.
Foregoing a segway;
Another thing I like is that, unlike Shiggy, Six is an ACTIVE antagonist. This means that his actions push the story forward, something a story like MHA needs but BNHA:V doesn’t. MHA is action-packed, so it needs a villain that moves the plot along.
I’m sure others will argue, but Shiggy very rarely moves the story along.
At first, he does; he leads the villains to attack U.A., introducing the main characters and the readers to the villains. After that, though, his actions are more like they’re filling up space as they have no real effect on the main plot. He reaches out to Stain? Stain gets caught in his introduction arc. (Plus, that was AFO’s idea.) He releases four Nomus after Stain pokes him a bit; none of them have an effect on the overarching plot. (Even though Bat Nomu SHOULD HAVE, but I digress.) He attacks Izuku in the mall? The most you can say is that it encouraged U.A. to change sites but is that really such a change story-wise? The attack on the camp; AFO’s orders, and he didn’t go. The rest of the LoV did more. True, he ordered the villains there to kill Izuku, but again, nothing comes from it. And the order to kidnap Bakagou came from AFO. Then After AFO is captured and Shiggy finally gets his chance to shine, guess what? Overhaul takes over the arc, and the other members of the league go to work. (Does Shiggy do anything there? I’ll be honest, I don’t recall.) He takes Overhaul's arms and quirk, but does he use that to move the story at all? (Does he even use it?)
The only time, Shiggy’s actions fuel the story is when he and the rest of the League fight the Meta liberation army and convince them to join. Then after that, he goes to sleep like a sleeping beauty till Mic’s wonderful voice wakes him up. After that Shiggy releases a tidal wave of death, then AFO takes over as the big bad again.
Shiggy’s actions rarely move the plot along, and in a story like MHA, that’s a serious fail. (Now, in BNHA:V, on the other hand, it would be a plus, but that’s in another post.)
“But that’s the point! Shiggy is supposed to be an innocent manipulated and brainwashed by AFO. His sense of self has been stripped away, and so he’s basically AFO’s puppet, whether he likes it or not.”
Yes, I realize that. But regardless, Shiggy still could have done shit! He’s the MAIN VILLAIN. He’s on the villain posters and everything! He could have done something!
I mean, don’t get me wrong, Naraku of Inuyasha wasn’t always there, but he was the main motivator for the heroes. Inuyasha’s gang came together for the sole purpose of defeating Naraku once and for all. Without him, the entire story falls apart. Take Shiggy out, and 90% of the story would remain the same. More than that, none of Shiggy’s actions affect Izuku personally for—I’m estimating—over 200 chapters. Again, in a story like MHA, this is a pretty big flaw. Especially since Shiggy has almost NO effect on Izuku’s arc till the end.
Six, on the other hand, does stuff that moves the story forward.
He captures the remaining of Kuin’s bees and allows it to grow into the new queen, which would later possess Pop*Step and lead to the climax. He attacks the Sky Egg, which allows Koichi to become popular enough to gain the respect of Jeanist and Ninja dude who players in the climax. The attack also leads to an important conclusion to Captain Sunshine’s arc. He then kidnaps Pop later, again leading to the climax. This action is also what pushes Koichi out of his comfort zone and forces a change in his life that might not have come otherwise.
Again, nearly every action he does pushes the plot forward. And even though they don’t meet till the end, his actions affect Koichi. For example, at Naniwa, Six’s actions with the police and the drugs cause a robot to go out of control and cause issues for Koichi and Pop, placing the two in danger and putting them on Tsukauchi’s radar. (The Detective had heard of them but didn’t have a serious interest till now, which comes into major play later.) Then there’s the stuff above.
The thing is that for Koichi’s story, Six and the Trigger plot line isn’t needed. Koichi’s story is supposed to be about “ordinary” people, and both kinda ruin that. Hence one of the reasons they should be switched.
So! In conclusion;
Number Six and Queen Bee fit the comic style and fast pace that the Main Series is trying to adapt and, with a few changes, could add a LOT to the story. Not just plot-wise, but for all the characters as well.
Shiggy could have worked, but not the way, he’s used in the story. But before you all jump down my throat for “bullying” poor Shiggy, guess what? All the reasons I stated that make him ill-fitted here, are what I believe makes him absolutely perfect for BNHA:V, as I’ll explain here.
In the meantime, please share your own thoughts! Do you agree with what I said and that the villains would be better flipped? Or do you think it’s fine as is?

I used a Totem Animal and Meanings chart for everyone else btw because I didn’t want to be basic and repeat the same five animals over and over. Though Deku’s does kinda work still. [The first incident was in Qing Qing City. An extraordinary child was born who radiated light. After that, reports to people with superpower popped up all across the globe. No one knew what was causing these quirks. Before long, the supernatural became the totally normal. Dreams a reality. The world became a superhuman society with about 80% of the population possessing some uncanny ability. Our streets look like scenes from comic books. A city swirled with chaos and confusion, a new profession dominated our collective consciousness. It was an age of heroes.]
Quirks weren’t the only new mutation to unlock, however. Zodiac signs and blood types became personality tests of the past as with the appearance of quirks came the appearance of animal characteristics that more often than not would line up with the person’s personality.
Like with all things in life, there were outliers or people whose quirk was just straight up animal things but more often than not, the animal lined up with their personality.
This means everyone in a household could end up the same or similar animals, mismatched, or everyone completely different.
No one knew what suddenly triggered these mutations as either, but scientists assume it’s linked to the quirk gene.
And then there was Izuku Midoriya.
Born a rabbit to a lioness mother, young Izuku was sure to have a quirk!
Right?
Well no, but actually yes?
It wouldn’t be his own anyway, but when his childhood hero approached him after saving him from almost dying trying to save his childhood bully and offered to give him his quirk; he sure as hell wasn’t going to say no.
“Eat this!” All Might declares loudly after plucking a hair from near his horns and offering it to Izuku.
“Huh?” Izuku questions brilliantly.
“OI, DEKU!” Bakugou yelled from behind him “MOVE IT! SOME OF US WANNA STUDY!”
Izuku jumped, green rabbit ears standing on end as he realized he was blocking the door leading up to the dorm rooms, too busy muttering to himself, lost in thought.
“Oh, sorry Kacchan and Kirishima!” He quickly apologized, moving aside for the two to get to the door.
Bakugou huffed, the red comb in his blonde hair flopping a bit with the exaggerated movement as Kirishima just grinned.
“No problem, bro. You good though? No one’s caught you muttering since Todoroki did something manly last month and you had a gay panic?” The black top knot peeking out of his hair bouncing as he tilted his head in concern.
“Tch, who cares what the nerd’s muttering about?” Bakugou tsked, even as he pulled Deku by the back of his uniform collar up the stairs after them. “Spill.”
Izuku flushed red as Kirishima’s reminder, but let out a squeak when Kacchan started dragging him, stumbled to get his uniform jacket off so he could follow normally. “Kacchan! I can walk!”
“I’ve known you since diapers, you’ll run.” Bakugou huffed, throwing Izuku onto the landing in front of him. “Now talk.”
The greenette huffed in return, ears twitching in annoyance. “I almost miss you not caring about me.”
“Yeah so do I, but you’re the one who insisted on the power of friendship bs so welcome to aggressive support. Now you’ve chilled to the point of only muttering when you’re really stressed so what’s going on, Deku?”
Izuku pouted, but sighed in defeat as he looked up at Kacchan.
Much like quirks themselves, every animal characteristic had their drawbacks. Bakugou’s nails grew stupidly fast into talons and he woke up with the sun no matter when he went to bed. Kirishima was easily distracted by shiny objects. Izuku himself was especially jumpy with sudden loud sounds and had hit his head on ceilings more than once, but the downside that stretched across all traits was mating cycle that started roughly a month after turning 16 then varied by species. At least pheromones weren’t a thing like in those fanfics Mina talked about.
Bakugou was still waiting for an answer while the bunny was lost in thought and furrowed his eyebrows when he noticed Deku had spaced off again.
“Oi, Deku! Hurry up before I stop caring!” Bakugou yelled with a small pop of explosions.
Izuku jumped, flushing red and looking away. “...I turned 16 three weeks ago.” He finally admitted.
Kirishima’s eyes widened as Bakugou just grew more pissed out of confusion. “Yeah? So? What about it?”
Right, Bakugou’s demisexual. The only people spared from this embarrassing time was those on the Ace spectrum. Though Demis usually joined the rest of the populace whenever they were in a relationship, something about chemicals in the brain setting it off. He just remembers hearing explosions one morning some time after Bakugou realized he liked Kirishima and the world’s weirdest confession. Koda was just all together safe and grateful.
“DAMMIT, SHITTY HAIR! STOP BEING FUCKING ADORABLE! YOU STARTED MY FUCKING MATING CYCLE, STUPID QUAIL!”
“...Did Bakubro just confess to Kirishima by announcing to the dorm he has a boner?” Kaminari had whispered to Shinsou as they peeked out of the blonde’s room to spy on the commotion, coyote ears pressed back at the loud noises.
“It’s too early for this shit.” Shinsou had sighed, cat tail puffed up behind him.
“COME TAKE RESPONSIBILITY, YOU BASTARD!”
“Can we get dinner after, Bakubabe?” Kirishima had been totally unfazed, grinning like an idiot.
“FUCK THAT! I’M MAKING YOU DINNER!”
“Awww! Bakuba-!” The door had closed at this point and everyone was suddenly very thankful the 2A rooms were soundproofed.
“Mating cycles usually start like a month after a person turns 16, Bakubabe.”  Kirishima whispers helpfully, making the childhood friends turn red as Bakugou’s hands fell from their fight position.
“Oh…” was all Bakugou could think to say.
“Yeah…” Izuku muttered, hiding behind his ears.
 Breeding like rabbits was a term for a reason. A slight breeze gave him a hard on on the best of days, but he’d also be a needy mess around the same time every month, and he was not ready to deal with that.
“...So were you trying to figure out how to tell Aizawa you’d need the week off or? Why were you muttering?” Bakugou had already committed to helping, and he was going to see it through even if he wanted to die discussing his childhood friend’s sex life with his own boyfriend standing next to him.
“No...I already told him and he tried to give The Talk before quickly giving up and calling Midnight in.”
“Oh my god!” Kirishima snickered, red faced as Bakugou was now cackling instead.
“Yes it was as horrible as it sounds.” Izuku was pouting now.
“I bet!” Kirishima laughed as they waited for Bakugou to stop laughing like he was a hyena instead of a rooster. “So what’s up then?”
Izuku turned red all over again but sighed, knowing he wasn’t getting out of this. “As her transition into talking about protection, she mentioned having someone there makes it easier, and now I can’t stop thinking about asking Shouto so I’m panicking.”
Bakugou sounded like he choked on his own spit as he continued cackling, facing away from the two, clearly done being helpful.
“I see. I don’t really know what to tell you since Bakubabe just dragged me to his room as a means of asking me out, but you guys are already dating. ...He’s older than you, right? Did you help with his?” Kirishima tried.
Izuku grimaced, “Endickvore made him go home, and wouldn’t let me even bring homework.”
“Right, forgot he was homophobic.” Kirishima sighs.
“And hates me, but that feeling’s mutual after what the skunk did to Sho in the past not to mention when he found out. I told him we should have used All Might’s lawyers when they were offered but nooooo.” The bunny grumbled, looking like he was considering murder now instead.
Kirishima remembers the state Todoroki came back to school in after Endeavor caught the two kissing and honestly? He’d probably help with that murder. That wasn’t the issue right now though.
“So you’re considering asking him? What’s the problem?” Kirishima asked, tilting his head.
Izuku flushed again and was getting really tired of doing that. “The problem is whether or not I should.” His ear twitched when he heard a door open, but he figured it was from the girls’ stairs on the other side of the wall.
“...Have you done it yet?”
Another blush, but a small nod.
“Do you want to?”
Izuku thought about it again and groaned, hiding once more. “God yes, but how do I even bring it up? ‘Hey, Sho. We’ve been for almost a year now and my cycle is coming up. Wanna see where the joke fuck like rabbits comes from?’”
A strange noise that sounded somewhere between a growl and someone cleaning a window came from the next landing up and they all turned to find Todoroki standing there with a very territorial look in his eyes. “God yes.”
In that moment Izuku looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole as he turned the same shade as half his boyfriend’s hair. Kirishima just scooched away from the rabbit, and Bakugou burst into another fit of cackling. The red head was beginning to worry about him.
“Sh-Sho! W-what are you d-doing here?” Izuku squeaked, ears standing on end.
Todoroki didn’t take his off Izuku, but titled his head in the directions of the other two as Bakugou held up his which had a text conversation with the fox. “Bakugou said you need something?”
“Kacchan!” Izuku yelled, mortified. “Why?!”
“Because -wheeze- You’d give yourself -wheeze- an ulcer before you decided otherwise.” Bakugou laughed, as he grabbed Kirishima by the tie and dragged him passed Todoroki. “You’re welcome!”
“”Lock up your All MIght merch ‘cause I’m taking it!” Izuku yelled back even as Bakugou’s wing door closed, leaving him alone with Todoroki who was still looking at him like prey.
“I was wondering if you were going to ask me since we couldn’t spend mine together.” Todoroki spoke as he joined Izuku on the lower landing.
“W-what?” Izuku stuttered, back to shy now that Todoroki was in his space.
“You turned 16 three weeks and two days ago.” Todoroki hummed like that answered everything.
“Y-yeah I did. I should start my first cycle in the next few days.” The greenette fidgeted.
“Father can’t call me home this time. Would you like my help, Izuku?” Todoroki asked, petting one of the long bunny ears that was drooping slightly in front of his face.
Izuku shivered as his ear was touched, spacing out a bit before the question sank in. “Shoooo! Stop trying to distract me!” He pouted, lightly smacking his smirking boyfriend’s hand away.
Todoroki just waited patiently for his answer and eventually Izuku sighed, looking down again with another flush of color. “...Only if you want to.”
“Izuku, I almost burned the house down when you brought my homework and Father wouldn’t even let you in the foyer. Literally if it weren’t for the sprinkler systems from after Touya’s ‘death’, the house would’ve been gone again.” Todoroki chuckled, “I would love to help you.”
“...Is that where he got the new scar on his chin from?” Izuku sighed.
Todoroki shrugged. “He won’t be calling me home next winter.”
Izuku smiled softly, standing on his toes slightly to kiss the dual-haired boy on the cheek. “Have I told you how much I love you standing up to the trash can?”
“Every time I do. Now is that a yes?” Shouto smiled, kissing his bunny’s nose.
Izuku grinned, nodding eagerly. “Please, Sho?”
“Anytime, Izu.”
~~~
“SENSEI! DEKU COLLAPSED!” Uraraka called out a few days later during training, glad she was able to touch him before he hit the ground and possibly his head.
Aizawa swung down to the training grounds at the same time a panicked Todoroki skidded over his ice.
“Good catch, Uraraka. Let me get a look at him.” Aizawa hummed, crouching next to the panting rabbit as Todoroki kneeled on the other side. “Todoroki, I assume you know what’s wrong since you don’t normally skate over every time the problem child gets hurt?”
“He turned 16 a month ago. It’s his first mating cycle.” Todoroki responds bluntly, petting fluffy green hair and smiling when his bunny nuzzled into his touch.
Aizawa sighs, glancing at blushing Uraraka who was still in earshot. “As blunt as ever. Did you two already discuss this?”
“Yes. Bakugou texted me when they were in the stairway because Izuku he was overthinking whether or not to ask me if I, and I quote, ‘Wanna see where the joke fuck like rabbits comes from?’”
Aizawa’s sigh turned suffering. “They’ve taught you to use air quotes, but no one has taught you what a filter is. What did he say?”
“Oh those were Izuku’s words,” Todoroki clarified.
“Jesus fucking- Just go!” Aizawa groaned, completely done with his job as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “You’re both excused for the week. You two. Just stop talking.”
Todoroki nodded as he picked up Izuku bridal style and carried him to the doors. “Uraraka’s floating away by the way.”
Aizawa turned around and looked up to find a steaming red Uraraka curled in a ball and floating out of the training grounds. ‘I’m talking with his therapist, I swear to god he needs a filter.’
~~~
‘Why is it so hot?’ Izuku groaned as he started waking up, already working on stripping without thinking about it. ‘Mmm. This bed is soft...Wait why am I in bed? I was fighting Uraraka? Did she knock me out?’
The greenette opens his eyes slowly, adjusting to the light and realizing he’s not in Recovery Girl’s office or his room, but Todoroki’s.
‘Passed out, feel hot, in Todoroki’s room.’ Izuku makes a mental inventory before looking down at himself and seeing the tent in his boxers. “Great,” he sighs.
“Oh, you’re awake?” Todoroki hums, turning around in his desk chair. “How are you feeling?”
“Literally hot and bothered.” Izuku breathes out a laugh, turning on his side and nuzzling into Todoroki’s pillow, breathing in his scent of campfire in winter. “How is your bed so soft? It’s literally a slab on the floor.”
Todoroki chuckles. “Same way I got your limited edition All Might sheets. Father’s credit card.”
Izuku smirked up at his boyfriend. “Have I mentioned I love you?”
“I mean you’ve been asleep for about an hour so you are a bit behind.” Todoroki smirks back.
Izuku rolls his eyes as he tries to sit up only to fall back with a groan. “Shoutooo~”
Todoroki’s pupils slit at the sound and he lets out another strange strangled growl. Starting up?”
Normally green eyes, now swallowed by pupil, meet his heterochromatic ones. “Yesss. God, I feel hot. Sho, are you sure you wanna help? ‘Cause everything in me is screaming not to let you out of this room until I’m full of kits I can’t even have and-” Izuku winces, fighting his boxers off, the fabric suddenly too rough for his overly sensitive skin. “-and I can’t find a reason to argue, so last chance to either kick me out or run though I’d probably catch up.”
Todoroki groans at the thoughts, head resting in his arms he has crossed over the back of the chair. “I definitely can’t argue either. Yes, Izuku, I’ll help you, and while the thought of you chasing me and taking what you want is rather appealing. You’d have to kick me out of this room to get me out.”
“Glad we’re in agreement, Sho-Ooo~!” Izuku had reached down to try and relieve some of the ache and god was he sensitive. “Get over here.”
Todoroki didn’t need to be told twice as he dug in his drawer for the lube, but that didn’t stop him from teasing the greenette. “Where’s my usually shy bunny that I have to kiss out from behind his ears?” He hummed, almost dropping the lube at the new sight that greeted him.
In the few seconds it took Todoroki to look for the lube, Izuku had moved on all fours, face pressed into Todoroki’s pillow and ass in the air as he strokes himself with a spit lubed hand, whining as he makes grabby hands with his unoccupied one. “Get down here. Want your knot.”
Another strange sound makes its way out of Todoroki’s throat as he takes the few steps over to kneel behind Izuku and shoo the bunny’s hand away from touching himself. “Mine.”
Izuku whines at the loss of contact but instinctively spreads his legs further to present himself. “Shoooo~ Hurry! Hurts!”
Todoroki smiles lightly, leaning over the greenette to kiss his cheek before nipping at one of the pressed back rabbit ears, earning a moan. “I’ve got you Izu, don’t worry.” He assured, uncapping the lube and spreading it around his fingers.
“HurrY! AHhHH! Shoooo~!” Izuku moaned as Shouto slipped a finger in, moving it in and out slowly to start opening him up.
Izuku moaned, rutting back against the finger as he gripped Todoroki’s bedding, letting out a small squeak when a second was added. “Shoooo~ Sho, please~ Please let me touch myself please!” He begged, whimpering pathetically for sympathy.
Todoroki let out another possessive noise, but relented. “Only because I looked up what you meant by fuck like rabbits not being a joke, and would much rather survive the week.”
Izuku flushed darker than he already was. “You what?! Oh goOod-Ah there!”
Todoroki had found the greenette’s prostate and made sure to at the very least brush it with each thrust of fingers. “Yeah. I thought knotting traits had a lot of porn, but you guys have a lot .”
Izuku was back to trying to relieve the ache into his hand, but was hiding his face in the fox’s pillow. “Please, shut up!”
“Hey, no need to hide. Now I know to let you come as many times as you need.” Todoroki smirked into Izuku’s ear with a purring sound before nipping at it again, knowing how much the smaller boy likes it.
He’s proven right by the full body shudder that rips through his bunny as his hand speeds up. “M-more~”
Todoroki adds a third finger, smirking once more at the noise this draws out before nipping at various places along his bunny’s body, paying special attention to his neck and rabbit ears. “So cute for me, Izu.”
A particularly rough bite to his neck has Izuku crying out and coming into his hand, hips still rutting back onto the fox’s fingers. “Please, Shooo! Please! Fuck me already! Please!”
Todoroki lets out his possessive growl again at his bunny’s sweet begging as he pulls out his fingers, giving a calming yip in response to his bunny whining at the loss. “Shhh, Izu. I got you.” He gets out of his own boxers now as he lubes up his own already hard cock, positioning the tip at Izuku’s entrance. "Ready?”
“Yes! God, yes! Please, please, please. Just fuck me already~!” Izuku whined.
Todoroki gives an odd purring noise as he sinks into the smaller slowly, choking on air when Izuku makes a disgruntled noise and with a quick thrust back, the fox finds himself balls deep in his bunny and moaning. “Shit, Izuku. Patience, bunny.”
This gets him a sharp look over Izuku’s shoulder and Todoroki suddenly feels that was the wrong choice of words before Izuku is awkwardly trying to fuck himself back on Todoroki’s cock. “You did the research. Hurry~!” Izuku whines.
Todoroki holds onto Izuku’s hips to brace himself and gain some control of the situation before he starts up a fast pace, hoping it will be enough for the eager bunny.
He’s guessing it is based on the little squeaks and moans Izuku is making as the greenette returns to stroking himself. “MmmAHhhh~! ShooOoo~! Harder!”
Or maybe not.
Todoroki picked up speed, trying to follow his Izuku’s wishes as he slammed into the bunny’s prostate repeatedly, drawing out sweet moans until the greenette was eventually spilling into his hand once more. “Shoooo~! Cum inside, please Sho!”
Sho groaned, rhythm stuttering as he leans forward and bites into Izuku’s shoulder. The action cause Izuku to clench around Todoroki’s knot and lock it in place as he cums hard into his bunny. “Izuuuu.”
“Shoooo,” Izuku moans lowly as he’s filled. Happy rabbit noises leave him as he’s filled, and he goes slack against the blankets.
Todoroki half collapses on top of Izuku, but manages to maneuver them onto their sides to cuddle while they wait for his knot to go down. “Better?”
Izuku hums happily, nodding in contentment as he snuggles back against his fox. “Yeah. Thank you.”
“Anytime, Izu.” Todoroki yawns, kissing the back of the greenette’s head as he begins to drift off. He’s very nearly asleep too roughly fifteen minutes later when he feels squirming and hears another whimper. ‘There’s no way.’
Todoroki peaks open an eye. “Izu?”
He watches as the back of Izuku’s neck flush red in embarrassment. “...It’s back.”
Dual colored eyes snap open in shock. “How?”
“Can we go again?”
~~~1 week later~~~
“Deku! You’re back! Are you okay?” Uraraka was one of the first people to welcome him back as he stepped into class the first day after his cycle, he beaver ears twitching happily and tail thumping a little.
“Uh, yeah. Heh, yeah I’m fine. Thanks.” Izuku flushed, looking at the ground.
“Where Todoroki, kero?” Tsuyu asked with a tilt of her head.
Izuku’s scrambling for an excuse when Kaminari yells. “Did you suck the soul outta him, man?” The blonde laughing, fully resembling his traits in that moment, even as Shinsou thumps him on the back of the head.
Steam rises from Izuku’s face as he turns around and walks back out. Maybe he can wait another day.
#2 - So! I yelled about this idea recently to @burr-ell, @crithaus and @blorbologist because I was going over some early, pre-stream campaign stuff and it collided with my New Blorbo thoughts and.
And.
Kash was identified as Vesh's chosen because he had yellow eyes as a child. At some point one of his eyes turned blue, we don't know when, why, or how, but given that both his eyes being yellow was the mark of him being chosen I am inclined to think that one eye turning blue was a consequence of his vehement, violent rejection of Vesh during the Sting when he realised what she was. I think it botched the connection they were meant to have and consequently messed with his "chosen" status, and thus his eyes.
Anyway. In our world, eye colour significance varies drastically based on culture and is much more meaningless than in Exandria, a world where instantaneous communication and transportation have been possible for absolutely ages, and where gods and godly entities have been known, active parts of the world in extremely provable ways. In Exandria, a particular eye colour being specifically associated with a particular god is likely to be standout and specific and not overlap as it might in our world.
Further, yellow eyes aren't too far off golden eyes, and you know who else has yellow/golden eyes?
The Dread Emperor.
Yeah. The child-snatching evil wizard. The one who took the form of a child with golden eyes to lure in kids, and seemingly had golden eyes in his true form as well.
And the Dread Emperor is ancient. Exists primarily on his own demiplane. His exact nature is up for debate.
Vesh is also ancient - a possible warlock type for her, aside from Archfey, is Undying. She also retreats to her own demiplane between summonings. Her exact nature - if she's archfey, witch or something else, is also up for debate.
But the Dread Emperor is from The Book of Vile Darkness and Vesh is a creation of Will Friedle and these are entirely different origins...
But they both exist in Exandria and if they're in the same sandbox, I will play.
So- what if there is some connection there? What if the Dread Emperor was a past chosen? Hell, given the fact they've both been around for ages, what if he was the first chosen? If you wanted to you could give a similar backstory to Kash and make him almost sympathetic (albeit in the "cool story, still kidnapping and murder" kind of way) or you could just have them be awful exes. Three ideas I have so far are:
The Dread Emperor being a past chosen of Vesh, staying in his own demiplane to avoid Vesh, using a child form outside to avoid Vesh likewise, capturing children to try to regain a childhood lost to a cultish upbringing while also having the certainty of being a Chosen One to let him excuse being a godawful piece of shit.
A chosen who fled before consummation because he was told the truth, thus creating the reason chosen of Vesh (such as Kash) are kept in the dark as to Vesh's true nature and the real reason they're life (to balance her being death), and sought to increase his own power and independent evil so he wouldn't ever be shackled to another entity.
What if Vesh and the Dread Emperor are like... thousand-year exes? What if the Dread Emperor was her first chosen and she gave him too much power which is why he's proven so long lived and so powerful and then he abandoned her and that's why she's obsessed with yellow eyed kids as chosen ones.
It is important to note that the validity of all of these ideas is entirely speculative. But I think they're fun as possibilities and if the Dread Emperor did start out as a Chosen Mate of Vesh who rejected her, be that before or after the Sting, it might also explain why she murders all other followers around at the Sting (to isolate the Chosen so they only have her, standard cult isolation tactics) and why she murders chosen she feels are insufficiently faithful (to avoid having another superpowered rival with a magical link to her)
Just... the idea of two superpowered, acrimonious evil exes is incredibly entertaining to me. And it could fit! Which makes it even better.
send in “📓” and I’ll roll a d10 and ramble some worldbuilding thoughts
