“N-No, it’s not that. It’s… It’s symbiosis!” You exclaimed the moment the word came to mind.

“‘Symbiosis…’” He repeated, deadpan.

“Y-Yes!” You stuttered. “We have a symbiotic relationship!”

“A ‘symbiotic relationship,’” he repeated once again flatly.

You laughed nervously.

He didn’t believe you at all.

“Look, okay, just listen. For example, uhm, mushrooms. Mushrooms are an example of our symbiosis.”

He looked just about ready to leave the room at that point.

“Hear me out,” you continued with a nervous laugh. “I don’t like mushrooms while you like mushrooms. That’s why I sit next to you at dinners because I can give you my mushrooms. You benefit by getting more mushrooms, (I mean, everyone knows how much you love them), and I benefit by not getting known as the environmentally unfriendly forest ranger that wastes their food. It’s symbiosis!”

“Uh… huh…” he finally replied, exasperation finely intertwined in his voice.

“Oh, but I’m not done yet!” You abruptly announced once another idea came to mind. “You see, there’s also… People. Yes, you don’t like people while I do. That’s why I opt to work with you so much. You benefit because you don’t have to deal with irritating travelers coming your way asking dumb questions while I benefit by filling my social battery and meeting people from across Teyvat! Isn’t that rather symbiotic?”

He sighed at that point, massaging his temples in annoyance.

“That’s not actually–”

“Wait, I have one more!” You cried, your hands out so as to stop him from walking away.

He sighed.

“Fine. What is it?”

“Another way we are symbiotic is with lunch!” You declared as confidently as you could. “As you know, I come from a big family, so whenever I make my lunch for the day, I always make too much. You are the first person I see everyday, so that’s why I always give the extras to you. You benefit by getting a free lunch and I benefit by, once again, becoming a model forest ranger by not wasting food!

“This is why, while people like Nasrin and Amir say that I have a huge crush on you, in actuality, it only seems like that because we naturally benefit each other like in a well-functioning symbiotic relationship! Nothing more than that!”

Your breath came heavy in your chest as you finished your magnificent speech. Did you say that whole thing in one breath? You weren’t sure. Regardless, if it wasn’t clear at the start, your point should have been made by now. Granted, Tighnari’s exhausted expression wasn’t the most promising, but you had no plans to go back on your word.

But seeing that you were finally done, Tighnari finally stopped massaging his forehead and turned his attention to you once more. Placing his fists against his hips, he let out a deep breath so as to calm his nerves. He then looked straight into your eyes with an intensity that pinned you to where you stood.

“So you don’t have feelings for me?” He asked, though it felt more as a statement than anything else.

“No.”

“Are you positive?”

You grinned.

“Absolutely! It’s just good ol symbiosis at work!”

You couldn’t help but gulp nervously as his eyes narrowed searching you even more. But once he had his answer, his eyes shut as he let out a disappointed sigh.

“Well, that’s a shame,” he let out with a resigned shrug of his shoulders. “I have feelings for you, but I guess you don’t feel the same. I suppose I’ll just have to give up.”

And with that, he then turned and walked away, not even giving you a chance to process his words. But once you did, panic dropped straight into your get. Nearly tripping over yourself, you scrambled after him.

“W-Wait! I’m sorry, I was lying. No, come back, just hear me out! Tighnari!!!!!”

The plot could be that Childe's bf is currently in Liyue during Osial's attack and knew it was Childe from what the people were saying and soon have an argument about how (M/N) almost got killed with no warnings and Childe didn't even come to him when the attack happened causing them to break up cutting off all ties to him.

(Alright, it's been a while since I played Genshin and I don't remember the story very clearly, so this may not be too good)

Childe/Tartaglia [Genshin Impact]

(M/n)'s sight began clearing, his head fuzzy due to hitting it when he was trying to run away. His ears stopped ringing and he was able to hear people talking about what had happened and who could've caused it.

Osial had been awoken by someone, a tall, ginger-haired male that didn't seem to be from Liyue Harbor, a satisfied expression on his face, but the dull, empty look in his blue eyes was what made people avoid him as he walked past them.

He instantly knew who was responsible for this incident, and (M/n) stumbled on his way looking for his boyfriend.

It took him a little while to find him, he was leaving Liyue Harbor without even looking back, which angered (M/n), who groaned in pain as he rushed after him, but realising he was getting away, he decided to get his attention to make him stop.

"What the fuck, Ajax?!" Childe stopped at the call of his name, turning around and staring at (M/n) dead in the eyes.

"What do you want?" (M/n) felt his anger snap, and without uttering a word, he took large steps until he was a few steps away from the ginger-haired, closing his fist tight and raising it, punching him in the face before he could block the hit.

Childe frowned and glanced back at (M/n), about to hit him back, but he pinned him to a wall, his arm pressing on his shoulders, really close to his neck. He was gonna complain to the male, but he couldn't, "Look at me!" The pain in his voice seemed to snap Childe out of his mental state, wide blue eyes observing all the cuts, bruises, and dry blood on (M/n)'s face. His clothes were tattered and dirty, open wounds bleeding and leaving a trail of blood everywhere he went. "Because of your selfishness and stupidity, I almost died today!"

He blinked a few times, realizing and understanding that he was that one that hurt (M/n), he was the one that caused all of his wounds and almost kills him today, all because of... what? Pride? Anger? He wasn't sure anymore.

"I-I didn't think you would get hurt..." (M/n) scoffed and let him go with a rough move of his arm, his body aching everywhere every time he moved even an inch.

"How couldn't you think this wouldn't hurt me?" (M/n) mumbled sarcastically, "I've been in Liyue a few days already, we met up a few hours ago... Am I really that insignificant to you, Ajax?" The quiet, broken tone of voice which (M/n) used broke Childe's heart, and he desperately tried to explain.

"No, no you're not, (M/n)... I love you more than anything," but (M/n) couldn't believe what he saying, not anymore.

"You know... It didn't have to be like this, but now you've ruined everything," he muttered, blinking away the few tears that gathered in his eyes, looking away from him, down at his still bleeding wounds, "Ajax... you didn't even come to see if I was dead or alive, you were leaving...! I can't be with someone who only cares about himself," (M/n) took a deep breath and made eye contact with Childe again, who was now holding back his own tears, "You don't even worry about me, and we can't be together anymore. I hope you're happy."

Turning around to leave and head back into Liyue Harbor, (M/n) was only able to take a few steps before he felt a grip on his wrist, he ignored the pain and stayed still.

"Please, (M/n), I can fix everything... I can be good, I can take care of you and... Love you the way you deserve to be loved..." His babbling wasn't even close to convincing (M/n) to forgive him and give him another chance, he was done, completely tired of his bullshit, and empty words.

"This is not going to be fixed. You've ruined this for good," was all he said before stumbling his way back, leaving Childe heartbroken as he cried his heart out, falling to the ground on his knees, repeatedly calling out for (M/n), muttering apologies and promises that the (h/c) haired male didn't bother believing in.

Being known as one of those more free-spirited sort, you were never one for schedules. It wasn’t that you had anything against them. You just found it difficult to devote yourself to doing things at a set time on a set day was rather constricting. So when you were hired to work as the Akademiya’s scribe’s assistant, you were in for a whirlwind of change. Alhaitham was scheduled. Procedural, even. And he made sure you were too.

With Alhaitham, work started at 9am sharp. After half an hour of reviewing his intray, he would start on drafting proposals, copying documents, and creating lists. It was your job to maintain and organize the many papers that passed through his hands. Lunch was taken at noon on the dot. After, you would be out and about passing correspondence, picking up new books from the House of Daena, and communicating with the other departments. Once 5pm hit, you were finally released.

Through everything, Alhaitham prized efficiency and efficacy above all else. And though it took time to get used to his spartan ways, you could see the value in following his work style. Everything made sense. That is, mostly everything. When you sat down and really thought about everything, though, you couldn’t help but feel that there was something… odd about the way he did a few things.

Ever since you started, Alhaitham began eating out for lunch almost everyday, always inviting you along. Which was weird because you heard he usually brought lunch made by his roommate. You didn’t think it was too strange at first. You were friends with Alhaitham during your student years, after all. He probably wanted to catch up. But to continue on for a few months…?

It didn’t help that you did much of the talking at lunch. Sure, you were extremely talkative, but you thought he’d surely get tired of listening to you ramble on by now. But no, no matter how much you babbled about, he’d always respond with some intelligent response showing he was listening to you all along. That wasn’t even considering the way he opted to sit next to instead of across from you. Were you that interesting to listen to?

Then there was the way he’d actually listen to and take the random advice you’d give. The new fountain pens upon his desk were suggested by you, as were the coffee beans he now used at home. He let you drag him to new restaurants at lunch and borrowed the books you raved about in the House of Daena. You never heard of him doing this for anyone else.

And lastly…

“Are you ready to go?”

“Yep! Just finished packing up,” you replied, standing up from your desk. “Let’s go.”

As that classes were finally finished for the day, the Akademiya was abuzz with students. In the back of your mind, you had no doubt that the streets of Sumeru City would only be busier seeing that most people were finally leaving work.

“You don’t need to walk me home,” you began with an apologetic laugh. “It’s probably going to take a while.”

“It’s fine,” he replied. “Besides, weren’t you the one that insisted on finishing your story earlier?”

“Oh, you’re right!” You exclaimed. “So what happened next was…”

As you chatted about the happenings and various gossip that managed to find their way into your nosy ears, at some point your hand found its way into his. It often happened seeing that the busy roads often pushed and shoved you about. And as kind as he was to help you, you couldn’t help but feel that it was, like all the other things, unnecessary.

“Why are you so nice to me?” You found yourself asking when you finally reached your home.

Though his eyes widened for a moment, they soon narrowed as he crossed his arms as if observing you.

“Isn’t it obvious?”

You paused in thought.

“Because you see me as a friend?” You asked curiously.

You were met with a long exasperated sigh.

“Sure, let’s say that,” he finally said as he turned to leave. “Rest well.”

As you waved him goodbye, you couldn’t help but let out a sigh to yourself. Oh well. You’ll figure out his secrets some other time.

Kaeya Alberich & Diluc Ragnvindr [Genshin Impact]

(M/n) and Kaeya were out together, finishing their commissions for the day. They were having fun but (M/n) was also tired of repairing the same cart over and over again, of course, he never mentioned anything about it.

Now, while he stared at Kaeya walking ahead of him on their way to Mondstat, more specifically Angel's Share, (M/n) didn't notice the Abyss Mages that saw him walking past, soon laughing amongst one another before teleporting closer to the male, catching him in an ambush.

(M/n) was caught off-guard, so some of the attacks landed on him, and while he maintained a safe distance between them, he started calling for Kaeya.

"Kaeya!" He waited a few seconds before calling him again, "Kaeya!!" Once again, receiving no response, (M/n) thought that maybe the Captain of the Knights of Favonious may also be caught up in a similar situation as him, "Kaeya?!" He called one more time, worried about the dark-skinned male, but he didn't hear anything coming from him.

He frowned and prepared himself to attack.

"Grit your teeth and beg for mercy," he mumbled before charging forward, maintaining an offensive and changing to defensive when needed.

Now, already in the City of Mondstat, Kaeya was walking with a content expression on his face after talking to Katheryne, making his way to Angel's Share, where he saw both of his closest friends, Rosaria and Venti.

He sat on the counter with them, and asked his brother for a glass of wine, who silently did, keeping a subtle frown on his brow.

Diluc didn't mean to overhear or eavesdrop on his brother's chit-chat, but he heard Kaeya mentioning how he came back from helping (M/n) with his commissions. "Well, where is (M/n) now?" Diluc asked, acting as if he wasn't slightly worried about the lack of the (h/c) haired male's presence.

Kaeya glanced at the red-haired male, and took a sip from his cup, "Oh, he's doing his last commission I think, he should've been done by now tho," noticing the lack of worry coming from his brother, Diluc walked from behind the counter in a hurry, ready to call Charles over to take his spot at the bar, when the door was opened aggressively, the loud sound echoing in the place that immediately went quiet.

Turning around on his stool, Kaeya showed his usual playfully flirty smile at the sight of (M/n), completely ignoring his state. He was dirty and his clothes were messy, his clothes were burnt, he had frost on his fingers and his body occasionally twitched due to the electro damage he received. Kaeya opened his mouth about to say something, but instead, he was met with a hard first to his nose.

The cracking noise it made, made everyone who heard it cringe, and when (M/n) was about to charge forward to punch him again, Diluc wrapped his arms around him and held him back, preventing him from causing a bigger scene.

"I could've died and you couldn't have cared less, Kaeya, you're drinking your pathetic ass of like every fucking day," Kaeya took the handkerchief Venti handed him and wiped the blood dripping from his nose.

"I knew you were gonna be fine, you're more than capable, anyway," he said carelessly, reaching for the wine bottle Diluc had left on the counter and pouring more wine in his empty glass, "Besides, I've been with you all day, I wanted to spend some time with my friends, you're like a puppy following its owner sometimes."

His nonchalant, passive-aggressive attitude made (M/n) realize one of the most important things about Kaeya. He's never been loved nor cared for, so of course, he only loves and cares for himself.

Scoffing and prying Diluc's arms away from his body, (M/n) stared at Kaeya in the eyes, "You've never been loved before, I can tell."

And with that, he turned around and walked out of the bar. Diluc gave a nasty look at his brother before signaling Charles to take his place as he walked out, following the male.

Diluc Ragnvindr

Knowing that Diluc was following him, (M/n) stood still and waited for him out of the doors of Mondstat. The red-haired male looked at him and offered his shoulders as support.

(M/n) grimaced and wrapped his arm around Diluc's shoulders, letting him support most of his weight on him as they walked towards the Dawn Winery that was quite aways away from them.

After a long time of slow walking and painful groans, (M/n) received some help from Diluc. He was guided up the stairs and to the bed, where he soon passed out from the pain and exhaustion. Quietly, Diluc took (M/n)'s brunt clothes off and wiped his body clean, being careful with his wounds that soon after were desinfected and covered with bandages.

He knew that his wounds would get worst if he didn't get healed soon, he ended up turning to Jean, who gladly helped her senpai and healed (M/n) with her anemo vision.

Now, Diluc just had to wait for him to wake up to know how he was feeling. However, it was a difficult task to accomplish, his sleepy heavy eyes kept closing for a few seconds, before shooting open whenever (M/n) groaned or moved.

And that's how (M/n) found him when he finally woke up. Diluc was fighting his drowsiness, watching him fall asleep but opening his eyes wide to prevent that from happening, and that sight made him chuckle, waking Diluc up.

"You're so cute when your half asleep like this," it took Diluc a few seconds to understand what he was told, but when he did his face turned bright red, looking down to avoid being stared at and teased. Chuckling at Diluc's bashfulness, (M/n) sat on the bed, realizing that he was currently shirtless, his chest and abdomen were wrapped with bandages, some wounds on his arms wrapped up too, and while he checking his body he felt Diluc's stare on him, and he couldn't hold back the smirk that showed on his face, "Enjoying the view, beautiful?"

He felt flustered that Diluc was looking at him so attentively, but he couldn't let that show, he had to tease the red-haired male, after all, is not every day that you get to see Diluc blushing and embarrassed, behaving so cutely.
