Danny and the jokers corpse
Danny is getting sick of the corpse in his closet. Literally the dead body in his closet.
So about 2 weeks ago danny was going on a midnight walk, bad idea he knows, when he saw this random clown in an ally.
He tried to ignore the clown but he apparently wanted attention and decided to attack him.
His reflexes kicked in and since he's used to fighting ghosts he put too much force in and now he has a corpse in his closet.
Its not even that he wants the corpse, he just can't get rid of it, chemicals would be too suspicious, ectoplasm has the possibility of making him a ghost and everytime he tries to dump it something always comes up, like the place has people in it.
So he just decided to take it to the police and confess it was a self defence.
When he walked into the station and asked to speak to the boss about a clown, they all reacted like he'd just planted a bomb and went to get the boss.
Danny waited maybe 5 minutes before he was seen.
When he went in the office of this james 'jim' Gordon guy, the guy was really tense, asking what he knew about the clown, who's name is joker oddly enough, what his next plan was and the rest just flew over his head.
Do danny did what he always dose, something stupid.
He interrupted jim, said 'well he's not plotting anything now'
And opened the bag containing the jokers corpes and ploped it on the table.
.
.
.
Later danny opened his door to a guy with black hair and blue eyes smiling at him and asking to talk.
And in dannys defence jason is really fun and taunting THE batman it too good an opportunity to pass up

I have been watching this old TV series called Ghost Whisperer. I was an unfortunate child to not have known of its existence during my younger days. But, hey! Now that there’s such a thing called Disney+, I am glad to have come across this drama series.
Anyway, I have only watched up to Season 2 and I’m loving the whole show, well, minus the part where my mum just simply refuses to pay attention and keeps asking questions...
But I am not going to be writing a review of the show. I still have about three more seasons to go.
What I will be covering in this post instead is the relationship between Delia and Melinda.
And of course, 🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨 if you are interested in watching the show.
Let’s introduce the characters who are important for this post.
1️⃣ Melinda Gordon
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Ghost Whisperer Wiki Fandom)
Melinda Gordon is the main protagonist of the series. She can see, hear, and talk to ghost like you would with any normal human being.
2️⃣ Andrea
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Ultimate Ghost Whisperer Wiki Fandom)
Andrea was the shop assistant of Melinda’s shop in Season 1, but due to a catastrophe, she died and was no longer seen again in the subsequent seasons.
I need to clarify that it was the character Andrea who died, not the actress!
3️⃣Jim Clancy
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Ultimate Ghost Whisperer Wiki Fandom)
Jim Clancy is the husband of Melinda. He fully supports his wife on her personal mission to help as many earthbound spirits, as she put it, to cross over to the light.
4️⃣Rick Payne
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Ghost Whisperer Wiki Fandom)
Professor Rick Payne researches on the humans’ need to believe in mythology and the paranormal. He also helps Melinda in investigating some of the supernatural phenomenon happening in Grandview.
5️⃣Delia Banks
Tumblr media
And finally, Delia. She is a widow, real estate agent, and also the current shop assistant to Melinda’s shop.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Now that we are familiar with the characters, let’s dive into the relationship of Melinda and Delia.
Tumblr media
(Gif Source: Tenor)
First of all, I sympathise with Melinda a lot in regards to trusting people. I mean, how are you able to go around telling people that you can see ghost? People would think you are nuts and just ship you off to the asylum if they could.
Of course, my own trust issues has nothing to do with being able to see ghosts (for the record, I can’t). I can understand how difficult it is to open up to people about yourself. For Melinda, it’s about her gift.
Tumblr media
(Gif Source: GIPHY)
Melinda has suffered enough rejection and humiliation, such as the rejection from her college sweetheart, and the betrayal from her high school friend. Because of those incidents, Melinda has a hard time trusting people.
Fortunately for her, there were people out there who were very nice. For Jim, I have no idea how she told him about her gift. The rare flashback about their first meeting did not show enough information on that, which is kind of expected since you just met this person. But throughout the seasons, you could see how he simply trusts her and gave her his full support about on the matter.
For Andrea, we did get to see how Melinda broke the news to her and fortunately, Andrea was like, “oh, okay.” 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: GIPHY)
I mean, she can be skeptical, she could think that Melinda was simply nuts or pulling her leg, but she didn’t think much of it and never criticize her or humiliate her in any way.
Just like with Delia, there must have been a numerous times where she caught Melinda acting weird or talking to the air or something. Yet, when Melinda broke the news to her about her gift, Andrea never batted an eyelid and just accepted it.
For the benefit of doubt, she could have thought at that moment that Melinda was crazy or pulling her leg. Of course, eventually, we know that Andrea whole heartedly knew that Melinda could truly see ghosts. But prior to that, Andrea never said anything nasty towards her.
Then, Rick Payne. Everybody knows he’s the comedic relief of the show. But if you take that away, he’s also the most cynical character in the show (his in-show colleagues even called him that). Rick Payne never believed in the paranormal despite being a professor teaching the paranormal.
Technically, you don’t have to be a religious or strong believer of the paranormal/supernatural to teach this kind of stuff. You can be an atheist and still research on this. Rick Payne had also mentioned in the show that he simply researches on the humans’ needs to believe in something religious.
But when Melinda (reluctantly) broke the news to him, he dismissed it at first. But eventually, he also came to terms with it and truly believed in her ability to see ghosts. Also, like Andrea, he did not mention anything untoward or nasty towards Melinda after learning of it.
And finally, we have Delia.
To her credit, Delia was starting to date again in the show, and her date (not going to spoil it) had been presenting her gifts that her late husband liked, or that her late husband knew she liked. So, of course, all of this was being very sentimental and were giving her some form of grief she could not get over with.
What she did not know was that her late husband was lingering around her and her date. Melinda did try to reach out to his spirit without getting Delia involved because she knew how much it would hurt her if she shared the news with Delia. But unfortunately, it was proven impossible and Melinda had to share with Delia about her gift.
Now, Delia had seen Melinda acting weird a couple of times, like talking to herself or just simply acting weird. But I also don’t blame her for not connecting the dots during that period because she was experiencing grieving moments from all that subtle little gifts her date was bringing her.
But the thing is, when Melinda tried to break the news to her, Melinda explicitly said (something along the lines) that she didn’t want to let her know but she had to if it wasn’t so important.
I mean that one liner was enough to tell you that she was being serious. But even if you still doubt that she was, I was not happy when Delia just lashed out like that at Melinda, for using her late husband as an excuse to pull her leg.
Tumblr media
I mean come on!
Although they kinda worked things out afterwards, you can definitely tell how Melinda treats Delia afterwards.
Like despite Delia knowing about her gift, Melinda never talked to her about it. I liked how she retorted back in one episode about Delia not wanting to deal with this side of her life so she never talked to her about it.
And that scene is so true! People may not understand why was Melinda so mean to Delia? But realistically, you shared your deepest darkest secret to someone and that someone just lashed out at you, rejected you, hurt you and even called you nuts. Even after you two have made amends with each other, you think you would ever talk to that person about anything?

"C'mon Gordon! I took a 2 day ferry from Metropolis just to get here! The least you can do is let me see him!"
Y/n was following hot on Commissioner Jim Gordon's heels as he rushed though the police station.
"I don't need the damn Daily planet on my case! I already have the Gazette to deal with." he growls as he stops at his desk grabbing his lighter and cigarette case.
Y/n stops beside him glaring at him intently. She was a reporter who had one job, get a story on Gotham City's favorite vigilante. The Batman.
Gordon lights his cigarette before leaning against his desk and taking a pull from it. He puffs out the smoke before gritting his teeth and making eye contact with the reporter.
"Miss L/n, what makes you think I could get you an exclusive with the bat?" he says.
Y/n only gives him a look that makes Gordon roll his eyes at the stupid question. Only a reporter like Y/n would be able to figure out how the bat gets all his info and who from?
"Gordon, this is my one chance to get a promotion, a good one. You've known me since I was ten! C'mon, just this once." she whimpers almost like a puppy gripping her reporter bag slung over her shoulder.
The commissioner only sighs, shaking his head. "Not this time kid. This is something I promised your dad I'd never let you get involved with."
He puts his hand on the top of her back and respectfully pushes her towards the exit, snaking their way through the busy police station.
"Look, while you're here I'll buy ya a drink and we can do some catching up. It's been a while." he stops on the steps outside the entrance.
Y/n sighs and scratches her head out of frustration. "Yeah, I'd love to." she gives a genuine smile before saying her goodbye to The commissioner and walking off into the Gotham night air.
She stops in the alleyway beside the police station and leans against the building wall. Taking her phone from her pocket she scrolls though the contacts and presses on the name "Glasses man"
Putting it up to her ear she listens to it ring out. Finally, a nervous voice plays out. 'Hey! This is Clark-ah Kent! Leave a message!'
Y/n sighs before talking. "Hi Glasses, you’re probably asleep right now, I didn't realise what time it was before I called. Anyway, just calling to say you might wanna keep my seat warm. I got nothing from my source. I might just book a ferry home tomorrow. At least it means I can still throw paper planes at your desk. I'll-"
She stops when a shadow flies over the ally and heavy cape flutters echo through the night air. Her lips curl into a hopeful smirk as she looks up at the rooftop seeing the bat signal shining in the smokey clouds.
"Huh, my luck might have just changed." She ends the call and shoves her phone in her pocket.
She hurries deeper into the alley way and immediately she spots the fire escape. Y/n puts her hand on the cold iron ladder before she looks down at her shoes. "Ugh, no way I'm ruining these shoes too!"
After kicking off her shoes she starts climbing to the roof before she finally reaches the top and manages to climb onto the rooftop without gaining any attention. With bare feet she creeps behind a vent and peaks around it at the shining bat signal and two men standing beside it.
The Batman and Jim Gordon in deep conversation. This was her chance, she lifts her phone from her pocket and gets ready to calmly approach the masked vigilante.
A sudden whistle through the air catches her attention, a red cape shines even brighter as the bat signal shines onto it and slowly the S symbol comes into view.
Y/n moves her hand over her mouth to stop the excited squeak when Superman lands beside batman.
'Two heros? Oh! I'm definitely getting that promotion!' She thinks full of excitement.
Batman looks back at superman and his deep growled words manage to remind Y/n of where exactly she was and what her situation was.
"Did you find it?"
Superman nods and opens his fist to reveal a small vial of green liquid. It glows steadily reflecting against the confused look of Jim Gordon who takes it in his hand.
"What is this? It looks like Joker venom."
Batman gives a growl and shakes his head. "Not just Joker venom. My scanner is picking up fear toxin too. I'd have to do a deeper scan to be sure."
Finally, Superman looks up from the vial’s hypnotizing green glow. "Few hours ago, Batman alerted me of unusual chemical readings in a warehouse by the docks. Once I got there, I only found this swept into a corner. Looked like they left in a hurry."

Batman lifts his head." If Joker and Scarecrow are working together to combine their toxin's, we could have a bigger threat on our hands. And by the sound of it, there could be more."
Gordon nods and gives an extensive sigh, rubbing the back of his neck, rolling the vial back and forth in his palm.
Y/n lifts an eyebrow before using her phone to take a picture of the three standing together and looking down at the picture deep in thought.
'Two deadly Toxin's combined, what could the motive be except to cause chaos? Perhaps other villains. But Scarecrow and Joker aren't criminals without purpose, even if they are psychotic they wouldn't work together without a final goal.'
She turns her head back to the scene in front of her when a loud beeping sound interrupts her train of thought.
The vial in Gordon's hand started beeping and perhaps out of reflex he tosses the deadly time bomb in his hand.
Superman's eyes fly wide as he rushes to protect both Batman and the commissioner from an oncoming blast.
However, the vial rolled across the roof until it finally hit Y/n's bare feet and her heart jumps to her throat.
"Oh shit." she says out loud when suddenly the vial burst's open and Y/n gasps for her last bit of fresh air.
She pulls her head to her knees and holds her nose, mouth and eyes shut. The toxic gas burns her skin and her eyes start tearing with the fumes banging on her eyelids.
'I can't hold it much longer. It burns!'
Slowly she gives in to a lightheaded dizziness and falls sideways onto the ground letting her hand fall off her nose.
Not a moment later the gas clears when Superman swoop's her out of the green gas. She hangs limply in his arms as they hover in the air for a second.
Superman's gaze turns to pure horror when he sees his co-worker in his arms. Once the toxic gas has evaporated into nothing more than a tickle in the wind Superman lands back on the roof and approaches a worried Jim Gordon and expressionless batman.

Detective Comics #1082 featured a SURPRISE Cass appearance, but a welcome one always to have. So here are my thoughts on the Cass's showing in that.
I mean every issue of Ram V's Detective Comics is a treat, and this one is no different (even with the guest star that I just LOVE to talk daily about).
Like there are layers to the tale he weaves that not only continue threads from past Batman writers but does his own thing.
Weaving and spinning a story that feels like a natural progression of what was already told by others.
Bruce feels human here than say other comics which "try" to tell it through his thoughts, but man the artist talents have been selling this struggle.
Why the "reward" is all the more "rewarding" because Ram V puts in this "doubt" in prior earlier stories written that, there's that chance Bruce might lose.
I mean we know he won't, but it's that "DOUBT" planted throughout. It makes Bruce relatable.
Speaking of rewards. The B-plot returns us back to Gotham as the Question continues her case as again we see what an Orgham-run Gotham City is like.
How their Reality Machine has wiped the memory of the bat out. HOWEVER…
"The Batman YET haunts Gotham."
Tumblr media
I honestly was expecting Jean-Paul (given he was rocking the AzBats suit when we last left him) but to see Cass the OTHER being Ram V continuing the crusade of the bat?
SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!
ahem
I mean logically, I wonder where everyone else is. Dick. Babs. Jim. I know eventually we'll see. But to see Cass still as we lost saw her in 2023 fighting the Orgham and keeping the SYMBOL alive in Gotham?
I mean there's a certain POETRY at hand here as we have two bat suits that basically filled in for Bruce when he was away. Either due to being broken in Knightfall (Jean-Paul)--
--or trying via means as Bruce Wayne to get the government to lift Gotham from being labeled a "No Man's Land" (Cass's costume which Helena Bertinelli used to continue Bruce's crusade).
It's so SATISFYING to see these elements incorporated here. Just now, it's Cass continuing the crusade and making sure Gotham REMEMBERS the bat.
Because it is a characteristic trait that other than Bruce, Cass is one of the few who just understands WHY the bat symbol carries so much.
Tumblr media
This exact DRIVE within her, is why she is just BUILT different than most folk in Gotham. Heck Renee struggles with the Realty Machine in places in her story.
Trying to remember what was lost.
Yet, we see Cass like she was ripped from when Jorge Corona drew her in Batgirls (very nicely done there whoever drew her like that). As described in the very comic, "a wraith."
It's that answer Cass gives Renee on HOW she's able to resist. The answer again showcases how Bruce/Cass are just so similar. People wonder why Cass is Bruce's heir to being to him as Batman?
Ram V is giving that answer to modern readers.
Tumblr media
This "answer" is not new, I find it akin to what Andersen Gabrych came to in his run of Batgirl Vol. 1. Just not as restricting of characterization with Ben Turner who pointed this fact out, and kneeling.
That Cass was going down this path after taking a life, and saying NO to a life of being a killer. That she chose to use the tools forced onto her to become something else.
I think if we ever get time to see the "lost" era of years when Cass rejected her father and hadn't met Barbara Gordon.
I think Ram V would be a fascinating writer to do this. Will he? Oh, I wish! This year would be PERFECT for it for sure.
It's a "gap" that I feel a writer SHOULD farm. Cause I really don't want Gabrych being the only OTHER than Kelly Puckett himself. I feel the period is ripe to showcase how "bat" she was before becoming one.
Though ironically, it isn't lost upon anyone seeing the heir to Vic Sage and well the daughter of a certain someone.
Tumblr media
Again, the themes and poetry of what was told in the past. Just with new layers put in. This "interlude" makes me hunger for a Question tale with Renee and Cass being teaching her like Shiva taught Vic.
If not, well we got that here. Somewhere. Someplace both Vic and Shiva smirked at what occurred in this issue. Renee/Cass doing both proud.
I could gush all day and night on this issue. This was something that was TRULY needed. Or at least told again. To remind folks why Cass is different than Jason, Steph, Tim, Duke, and even Damian.
This issue felt like a 25th-anniversary gift Ram V gave to Cass fans. Even though we have 0 official stuff (we could use some DC).
Cass's portion of Tec #1082 felt like a celebration of why the character has lingered so long.
So thank you to all creatives in this issue. To the writer, artists, inkers, colorist, editors. All involved. 🙏

Star Cross’d
Jerome Valeska x Gordon’s daughter!Reader
Jerome Valeska x Reader
This couldn’t last forever. Nor could it last the remainder of the night. Your father; Jim Gordon, would find out soon enough and put a stop to all to all this nonsense.
Nonsense: the nights you’d both spent lying awake in eachother’s warm embrace, discussing all inevitable components that make up the matrix melancholy of the cogs of life. Shivering slightly under the thin covers, an early winter’s morn and nearing-replacement window panes sending an extra sharp gasp of cooling freeze, compliments of some state north of here. But the delicate gushing of blood through the fingertips that dance with solider-like coherency remind you of being alive.
Nonsense: the candy floss he had bought you the night you met, unknowing of your disliking to the sickly-sweetness of a fairground staple but you ate it regardless, noticing the dust particles falling from his wallet as he handed you the carnival delicacy: wide grin decorating a pearl-filled grin making your heart remind your head that regardless of your economical struggles recently, you truly were rich. An odd sparkle of a concoction of unintelligible senses that overwhelmed your consciousness with a haze-like hypnosis of enamour for the boy yet to receive a name.
Nonsense: having you sat in the front row; against your father’s wishes at his court hearing, eyes flickering mindlessly between you and the judge - amnesty ignoring his court-presented attorney to delicately study the breathing work of art sat behind him. Allowing his own fate to unfold if it meant he got to look at you that little while longer. His sentence to Arkham emitting a gasp from your lips, yet a sense of comfort knowing this somehow meant he wasn’t a mindless killer; he was ill. He wrestled his restraints to give you a finalising kiss to the back of your hand with a sincere tone, voice barely above a whisper as he made you vow to him to forgive him.
Nonsense: the letters stashed in the small shoe box in the bottom of your wardrobe, beneath a well-word pair of disregarded sneakers that acted as gatekeepers for some abhorrent alternation of Romeo and Juliet if Shakespeare was mentally disproportionate. The daily recorded scrawl of proclamations of love and mourning for the distance between the both of you, a somehow best yet illegible cursive getting progressively more dissipated as the page descended - adapting Lamark’s unacceptable theory as the boy evolved from a maladjustment killer to a love sick poet.
Nonsense: crying when you visited him, breaking down into a pool of tears as he appreciated your presence and worshiped your being to an alternative offspring of the Antichrist’s teaching; praying and begging for your mercy - your living self a shrine for his selfless obsession of palpitating sickness of his desire. Your small, naïve smile as you told him you understood, those countless, sleepless nights you lay away shivering in the cold and you ponder your own sanity.
Nonsense: being the first person whom he adheres to when broken out of the Asylum, climbing up a three-story dtysfunctioning drain pipe in the dead of night in the dismal rain of an autumnal Gotham oldhallow’s eve - thunder cracking as you shared a romantic desperation of the age old locking of lips, holding one another on the floor as though terrified the other would painfully disappear if they disimbedded their claws; leaving crescent shaped moon imprint on the skin.
Nonsense: having dates in the darkest hours to avoid disruption; dominating Gotham at three hands of two desperately pining adolescents; insanity of love a proclamation of their secession from the rest of world and society, a religious-like devotion to the other promised by a kiss at every goodbye and a smile at every hello.
Nonsense. The relationship between you and Jerome Valeska was utter nonsense; but the soft whisper-like kisses he leaves on the parting of your hair and down to the nape of your neck makes you alternately shiver as you allow yourself just that few more minutes of sinful indulgence.

wait fuck steddie as superbat works so well
i mentioned this a while back but i started thinking about it again so
first we have stevie harrington, billionaire playboy douche bag by day and batman- the allusive protector of gotham with a penchant for adopting kids- by night
then we have eddie kent, small town farm boy turned big city reporter who also happens to be the alien superhero of metropolis, superman
nancy is lois lane, joyce is alfred, wayne is pa kent, robin is diana prince (wonder woman), jonathan is jimmy olsen, hopper is jim gordon, chrissy is kara zor-el (supergirl)
the party are the batkids, doesn’t really matter who’s who (but dustin is definitely tim, max is definitely steph, and el is definitely cass)
backstory:
thomas and martha harrington are killed, leaving behind a son- steven harrington. from there the boy is raised by his maid, joyce pennyworth. over time he perfects a false persona (stevie) to hide behind, and trains to avenge his parents and his city.
eddie lands in wayne kent’s farm and is brought up in a humble life. he helps around the farm and around town, learning some basic handyman/mechanic skills. smallsville is a town where everyone knows everyone, it’s a very tight-knit community, and everyone loves wayne and eddie (eddie specifically as the charming, helpful, more honest part of himself).
when eddie moves to metropolis things are very different. because he’s a small town farm boy, his coworkers at the daily planet are condescending and oftentimes rude. that is, of course, except for jonathan byers and nancy wheeler, his closest friends. the more eddie learns about the state of metropolis and the surplus of supervillains, the more he is convinced he has to do something to help. cue superman emerging.
superman agrees to an interview with nancy, because she’s the only reporter he trusts, but it ends up backfiring because nancy almost immediately realizes it’s eddie. she swears to secrecy, but only if he lets her help, and eddie can’t really say no to her (she’s scary). she is the one who comes up with the ‘clumsy dork eddie kent’ persona, and she covers for him when he has to leave work.
we all know the media is very distrustful of superman at first, especially when they learn he is an alien, and it takes a lot of effort on nancy’s part to convince them otherwise.
anyway, flash forward a few years and eddie is assigned to interview steven harrington while attending one of his galas. eddie has heard a lot of (mostly bad) things about “stevie” harrington, so he’s not the happiest about it. only, when eddie spots him across the crowd, the man is already staring at him, assessing with a cold gaze. when their eyes meet, the brunet blinks before tilting his head a fraction, towards a hallway leading deeper into the manor. without seeing eddie’s response, he walks off in that direction.
eddie, the diligent reporter he is, immediately follows. he slips away from the crowd and into the hall, shutting the door behind him and looking around. steven harrington is leaning against the wall opposite him, eyeing him curiously. eddie almost feels pinned to spot under the other man’s gaze.
“you’re new,” he says, and it’s not really a question. eddie answers anyway.
“yes. i’m, uh, here for the daily planet actually,” he says, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. eddie thinks this is probably the richest person he’s ever spoken to, and tries not to show it. something must give him away though, because harrington flashes a playful smirk and steps forward, into eddie’s space.
“oh, really?” he asks, saccharine-sweet, his voice dripping with honey as he readjusts eddie’s askew tie, his hands lingering on eddie’s chest. eddie swallows and wonders how he got here, breath catching as harrington cups his face with a hand and traces a thumb over his bottom lip. and then it doesn’t really matter because harrington is pushing him against the wall with a surprising amount of strength (don’t think about it don’t think about it) and kissing eddie like he’s desperate.
eddie can’t help but get caught in the other man’s intensity, pulling harringtons hips forward and relishing the quiet little noise he makes. eddie nearly whimpers when harrington bites down hard on his lip, which only drives the other man to loosen eddie’s tie and unbutton the top of his shirt, smirking when eddie jumps at the feeling of lips and teeth and tongue against his neck. harrington lets out a happy hum when eddie groans and tilts his head back to give the other man better access. eddie’s grip on harringtons hips loosen and, while it seems like he misses the touch, he definitely appreciates eddie grabbing his ass if the sound he makes is anything to go by.
seemingly taking that gesture as a challenge, harrington, to eddie’s confusion, grips the underside of his thighs. and then. and he then lifts eddie up against the wall. eddie thinks- no, he knows- that it’s the hottest thing he’s ever seen and/or experienced (which isn’t much, but seriously, what the fuck!). eddie knows he lets out an embarrassing noise solely because of the proud look on harrington’s face. but then he’s kissing eddie again, bruising and needy, and eddie thinks he forgives him.
of course, that’s when the hallway door slams open to reveal three teenagers.
“shit,” harrington mumbles under his breath, though eddie thinks he’d be able to hear it even without his super-hearing. steve lets eddie down, righting him before he trips over himself, and sighs defeatedly before pressing a card into eddie’s hand and a kiss to his cheek.
“sorry, sweetheart. call me sometime, will you?” he whispers before turning around like he’s heading to the gallows, facing the teenagers.
“really, steve?” a curly-haired boy asks, looking eddie up and down with a raised eyebrow. he tries not to feel insulted. (it doesn’t work).
a redhead punches the boy in the arm and looks at eddie, then steve, then eddie again and lets out a low whistle.
“jeez steve, it looks like he was attacked by a rabid bat,” she snickers, and eddie flushes bright red. steve lets out a sarcastic huff at the comment before grabbing the two teens by their scruffs and ushering them back through the doorway, telling the other girl to show him the way out and winking at eddie before disappearing.
the girl, whose hair seems to just be growing out from a buzzcut, gives him a small genuine smile and tugs his sleeve to get eddie to follow her. they wind their way through the shadowed empty halls until they somehow arrive at the front door. the girl opens it but tugs at his sleeve again before he steps out. he looks at her and she seems to find the right words in her head before saying, “you are good for him. call,” and giving him maybe-but-probably-not-accidental puppy dog eyes. eddie can’t help but smile and huff a laugh.
“don’t worry, he won’t get rid of me that easy.”

A carry on of this post
The joker had escaped from arkam
That wouldn't be unusual if after he escaped there was nothing but silence, no big showes, no rumours, no leads, no nothing
Silence...for months
Until 1 hour ago when batman got a call from comitinor Gorden that someone came in saying they have a lead about a clown and would call him back
In the meantime batman gathered all available "robins" as backup for what ever plan the joker had in store
So jason, tim, damian, duke, Stephanie and bruce were all on roofs surounding the police station waiting for the lead
Jason was just starting to complain whan a black haired man came out of the police station with Gorden following
Gorden and the man said goodbye then gorden called them in
.
.
.
Gorden asked all of them to come into his offace where batman started to semi-interogate about what the lead is when Gorden said "the jokers dead"
Ecerything stopped...
Red hood was looking close to jumping for joy, practically vibrating when he said "what was that"
Gorden sighed, and started talking "that kid who i walked out, you saw that right, well he dropped this off, saying he came out of nowhere and he reacted and accidentally killed him"
Gorden pulled up a black bag and opened it showing, the slightly decomposed body of the joker
Jason: so what your telling me is...the joker dies at the hands of a no body? with no one around? And the person didn't even WANT to kill him?
Gorden: ... yep, ran a background cheak, Daniel Fenton, in college in gothem U, from amity park Illinois, somewhat average grades, and has taken self defence classes with his mother...
Jason: this is amazing...
Tim: How...is this... amazing
Jason: jokers worst fear was dying a boring death, dying in an ordinary way, and he did...he died by a somewhat average man who didnt even recognise who he was...
Jason:...THIS IS AMAZING
.
.
.
Jason tracked down this, danny fenton and turns out he's not as normal as he thought
But it didnt matter...to the public joker died a death anyone could have
And besides...
Its never been this fun to taunt bruce

Wings Over Gotham Masterlist
A master post for my Wings Over Gotham Batman/DCU AU.
“Eighteen years ago, an earthquake ripped through Gotham City, and in the aftermath, instead of helping, the US government sealed the city under a ‘quarantine’ and left them to die. Two years later, when signs of life and even civilisation were still detectable inside the shattered city, the government sent the military in to reclaim and rehabilitate Gotham. Gotham has not forgotten, and they have not forgiven either.”
An AU where an altered version of No Man’s Land happened while Bruce was in his late teens/early twenties, and Batman was born in the hellish crucible of a trapped city that was left for dead and then violently retaken. Gotham may pretend to run by mainlander rules for the sake of those who would have died otherwise, but under the surface, Bruce, Jim, Leslie, Ivy and Oswald and their pack keep their own council, and look with jaundiced eyes on the mainland.
This story also includes a very non-traditional variation on A/B/O, where alpha and omega are expressed via psychic auras and not biologically, and those same auras allow empathic connection between pack members. (I wanted to play with the ideas of gender and pack from A/B/O, as well as a psychic expansion of the whole ‘pheromone’, ‘sensing/smelling emotions’ idea that is found in some A/B/O, but this story really is not focused on sex or biology, but the aftermath of attempted genocide and the tight-knit and extremely paranoid community that survives it. So I’ve essentially taken and adapted the bits of the trope that interested me for this story, and left the rest?)
18 Stories So Far
Harbour Day (1 chapter, POV Jim Gordon)
Eighteen years after the inciting incident, fifteen years after Gotham has been fully reintegrated after No Man's Land, the federal government would really prefer if Gotham City wouldn't still doggedly memorialise Harbour Day, the lives lost that night, the stubborn, damn near seditious amount of rage the city still feels about it. But Gotham doesn't work by mainlander rules anymore, and while they might choke the words down and avoid actually shooting the asshole in the face, neither Jim nor Bruce nor anyone else of Gotham City's pack will ever let the memory of No Man's Land, of Harbour Day, or anything else that was done to them, die.
Homecoming (2 chapters, POV Jason Todd)
The Lazarus Pit tore your aura to shreds. Or, maybe, dying tore your aura to shreds, and the Pit just didn't help. Jason Todd came back from the dead with all his pack bonds torn and his aura in pieces, driven by rage and emptiness. But Talia made a mistake. She let him too close. Even Jason's shredded mind and aura recognise his brother when he feels him, even when it's a brother neither he nor their father knew he had. So now, Jason is heading home to Gotham, a little brother in tow, to find out how much of his pack is left for him.
Set about a year before Harbour Day, a small prequel of an extremely battered Jason coming home.
The Cowardice of Heroes (3 chapters, POV Clark Kent)
Six months after the quarantine is lifted on No Man's Land, Bruce Wayne appears in polite society for the first time after being trapped for more than two years on the island, to run an auction to raise money for restoration efforts in the city. Speculation and torrid rumours are running wild through both Gotham society and the wider press, and two young reporters for the Daily Planet, one with rather more abilities and secrets than are readily apparent, score an invite to what will undoubtedly be the event of the year.
Another prequel to Harbour Day, this one set almost immediately after No Man's Land. A young Clark Kent witnesses the death, or rather stillbirth, of Brucie Wayne.
Tidal Hope (1 chapter, POV Oswald Cobblepot)
The two years Jason had been dead had been hard on Gotham. Mainlanders stepped lightly around Bruce's howling, grieving aura. But it had been hard on others too. After Jason comes back from the dead, bringing brothers in his wake, another brother comes home to Gotham, at least for a visit. But there's someone else he wants, needs, to talk to. And Oswald has always had the most aggravating fondness for this particular one of Bruce's kids.
Set shortly after Homecoming. Oswald Cobblepot helps shore up an exhausted and half-despairing Dick Grayson.
Here Be Monsters (1 chapter, POV Clark Kent)
Not long after Harbour Day, Clark Kent comes back to Gotham to interview SA Donald Mayers about his hostility towards the event, on the nudging of Leslie Thompkins. He gets an answer. Maybe not the one he expected, but an informative one nonetheless. There are, Mayers says, monsters in Gotham. But a monster to one man, might be a saviour to another. Which way is up in Gotham City? He doesn't find out, but maybe he doesn't need to just yet.
Diplomacy on the Shore (3 chapters, POV Bruce Wayne)
In which Bruce cannot function sanely when it comes to the Joker, Tim is incautious, it all goes tits up, and a new, alien force introduces itself to Gotham. Well. Not alien. Full Earth home-grown. But the difference is perhaps negligible from a Gotham point of view. And Atlantis brings trouble of her own to Gotham's shores, with war between them a very real potential consequence. But trust and diplomacy might win through.
Judgements of the Soulless (2 chapters, POV Jason Todd)
After the mess of the Atlantean almost-invasion, Jason Todd finds a moment to confront his killer. Or. Sort of. Because the Joker isn't exactly in a state to confront anything. And Gotham, her aura, might not be the only reason for that. Bruce and Jason were not the only ones with reasons to interfere with the Joker.
Champions of the Gods (2 chapters, POV Diana of Themyscira)
"Kal might not forgive her for coming. For wrangling an invitation to this Bruce Wayne’s most recent event, an environmentalist gala dedicated to the preservation of native American flora. It was a good cause, and one that Wonder Woman, or rather Princess Diana of Themyscira, was proud to support, but that wasn’t why she was here. And Kal might not forgive her for it."
Diana of Themyscira, made curious and concerned by the depth of her friend's reaction to this strange city, decides to follow in his footsteps and attend a gala at Wayne Manor, as well as overhear conversations that she shouldn't. Diana is a touch more direct, than Clark, however, and winds up speaking to the inhabitants more directly.
Love of the Broken (1 chapter, POV Alfred Pennyworth)
It was an underhanded tactic, to choose an hour of the morning when his family would be muddled and dazed and unlikely to pay attention to him, but in light of recent realisations, Alfred needs to have a conversation, and less ears and hearts to overhear it.
Alfred Pennyworth, the dark Goddess Gotham, and all the ugly, shamed, vicious parts of love and parenthood that you hope your children never have to see, or at least that they'll forgive you for if they do.
Worlds Gently Collide (3 chapters, POV Dick Grayson)
While working with Wally West on a case, a new type of drug that's been popping up in Blüdhaven and Central City, Dick's worlds start to collide a little bit. Old history and new land on his shore, because it turns out this drug is a Gotham drug. And given the type of drug, Oswald Cobblepot, Uncle Penguin, isn't about to let it touch him unscathed. His friendship with Wally is still tentative enough, but the Flash can roll with representatives of the Gotham mob rocking up on Blüdhaven's shore, right?
Or, some of the further consequences of Diplomacy on the Shore hit Blüdhaven, and Wally West gets introduced to Nicoletta, and Gotham's way of doing things. Not that he knows it's Gotham, yet, but still.
Trial and Error (1 chapter, POV Tim Drake)
The fallout of the fallout of the fallout. In the aftermath of Dick's assault and near-rape, the consequences of an older wound come to the fore. Damian is, unfortunately, neither stupid nor unobservant. And Tim has his own reactions to Dick, to Gotham, and to Damian. How many tries do you get before people stop tolerating you? Are you ever damned before you even start? But this is Gotham. So long as everyone's still alive, there's time to try at least once more.
Monsters All (1 chapter, POV Jim Gordon)
Mayers had never figured out where the Council met. He kept looking for Central, big civic buildings. That was where councils met, and didn't they fancy themselves a council? But No Man's Land hadn't had anything like that. They'd met, five territories, five enemies, in a shitty ruined diner outside all their territories. And they still did. To discuss ... one hell of a set of months. Invasion from all quarters. Gotham hasn't felt this exposed since the end of No Man's Land. But Ivy ... Ivy has a different plan for this conversation, and Jim and everyone else are just along for the ride.
The Aura Eaters (4 chapters, POV J’onn J’onzz)
J'onn J'onzz, the last Martian, lies captive in the pod of an alien ship as it makes planetfall. He is spent. Eaten. A husk of a thing. But they have made the smallest of errors, and if nothing else, he will try to be a nuisance before he dies. He will try to warn this world of the horror that comes for them. And, if he has the chance, he will try to fight for it.
An alien invasion comes to Earth. To Gotham. And in the process, a lot of worlds (metaphorically) collide.
The Lights on the Water (1 chapter, POV Jim Gordon)
In the aftermath of the Imperium's invasion, Agent Mayers steps into Jim Gordon's office, wanting to know what the hell ate an army. And, with Gotham revealed whether they wanted to be or not, Jim finally gets a chance to say some things he's wanted to say to this man since No Man's Land. They don't help, probably, but at least he gets a chance to say them.
Rest for the Wicked (1 chapter, POV Bruce Wayne)
In the aftermath of the invasion and his own choices, while his people and his city keep things going around him, Bruce Wayne pulls himself together and gets back up. With the help, and understanding, of someone who knows so very well what he's feeling. First, do no harm. But sometimes time and resources run out, and you have to make a choice. Leslie knows better than anyone, and she has some dark thoughts and secrets of her own, too. But they keep going, because someone has to.
Courage of the Fearful (3 chapters, POV Clark Kent)
After an almost alien invasion in Gotham, and a goddess' response, there are a lot of things Clark Kent should be worried about right now. He probably hasn't chosen the right one. But all questions of morality and even theology aside, Gotham is afraid of him. And he's not sure he can bear that. So. He has a decision to make.
Roots Watered In Blood (2 chapters, POV Pamela Isley)
With Bruce not dead and not taken, this time, despite his best efforts, Ivy and J'onn take a little minute, among the bodies of the invasion, to share grief and guilt and at least some attempted comfort.
Foreign Counsel (1 chapter so far, POV Lois Lane)
If Clark thought that Lois Lane would be content to sit back in Metropolis while he fell on his sword like she hadn't kept the exact same secret for the exact same reason ... well. His head hadn't exactly been in the game the past week or so. She'd probably forgive him. But what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him, and she had her own appointment with Gotham City. With ... Leslie Thompkins, in particular. But more than that. Because Gotham had an entire alien invasion happen, and nobody seemed to give a shit, and Lois hadn't written some of the best pieces of her life trying to bring attention to this city only to let it slide into the sea unremarked now. She had a meeting, and a job to do, and ... maybe more of both than she'd planned for going in.
