au/ headcanons [incomplete/unorganized/in development]
headcanons-
thought i share some personal eggman headcanons of mine they aren’t anything really special but more from observation
isn’t odd that eggman hadn’t aged since he stopped using live animals in his robot’s?
well i think it’s the cause of him using chaotic energy! he practically uses it constantly and is exposed to raw chaos energy a lot would also explain his unusual strength and durability
didn’t eggman act a bit off in shadow the hedgehog game?
my theory is that black doom had some influence on him to act that way and might be cause he is related to gerald making it a bloodline tie
why do more dangerous villains even work for him?
well we know they use him as a pawn but why the interest? well comes back to my first idea that he gives off an unique energy signature that is never on other human beings, feels like chaotic energy a bit and we know some villains want that energy so having a doctor who has that odd sense of energy is useful and just fascinating
au-
i had a theory.
what if he was there when maria died but was pretty young
since the more recent doc versions i tbh think he was genetically made like shadow he just turned out to be human but the similar genetics between the two are still there tbh i see shadow and ivo as family since infact they act surprisingly similar in their own ways
i always saw them as it and tbh him being almost a twin to shadow makes sense why the doc never seemed older even though theoretically he is in his 50-60s but looks in his late 20s to early 30s. and think if shadow the hedgehog game and in ark why would the doc be so easily influenced by black doom unless he already was linked slightly
gerald wanted to make his perfect “prodigy” and “creation” why not almost at the same time and or same/similar DNA besides we know gerald was kinda shitty so ivo and shadow kinda think one or the other was the favorite but neither know that even the doc was genetically made.
most of the archie iterations is 200 years prior minus interaction with scourge and some other parts i will need to piece apart
ivo’s lineage is actually from snivly as jullian robotnik the previous eggman of 200 years prior never gotten an heir. based on the comics snivly did die by jullian’s hand but had a robotic partner so i concluded that the partner took snivly’s DNA to make a child
as well as based on a good friend of mine’s idea with snivly is that he could use chaotic energy but it makes him sick as a result that Genetic add on resulted in mobian’s in the family tree
additional info warning mention of death and injury
the chaotic gene was added to the idea of my own that gerald couldn’t survive on mobius without an oxygen tank as the air was like toxin to his lungs not being able to handle the raw chaotic energy that is everywhere in mobius
as a result Black Doom sought him after to make an “heir” by means of mixing human/mobian DNA with Black Doom’s DNA to make an offspring. Black doom had caused gerald to go mad by his whispers into his head leading him to kill humans and mobian’s alike for body parts until G.U.N found him and whipped his bloodshed into none existence in exchange in working for them
of course he agreed
additional info warning mention of death and injury prt 2
thought i always thought that around ivo’s 20s that G.U.N had kinda a problem with him cause 1.they knew his past and exactly what he is
2.ivo was robbing banks of course for money
3.keeping track on him
and 4. i like to think the old commander for G.U.N was Xenophobic
and ivo gets along a lot more with mobian’s
{remember ivo is human till recently so he was human when this was happening}
he didn’t want a full blown war so he did defend the mobian when they did a a calm riot i think it’s called holding out signs about not being able to be part of G.U.N, of course the G.U.N agents where hostile and ivo took them out himself no robots the soldiers were shot down with no mercy if they did try to harm him or the mobian’s {he still has the promise to maria like shadow did}
i think he would be heartless with his signature smile but it didn’t have the emotion he has now and the breaking point to make G.U.N change their commander was him destroying three bases
i thought as one super dark thing of him having a general amongst a warning transmission to G.U.N and well shot him when they didn’t comply to his demands in cold blood even got on his face
a bit later a mobian took care of his wounds and giving him care would snap him back to not being a cold heartless “weapon” that he would probably break down
cause don’t some mobian’s work for eggman?
as well he saved a few towns and they kinda shaped him to what he is now a lot less harsh and actually slightly more caring
au headcanons
with the genetic differences ivo has from regular mobians as he is considered a “mutt” mobian being a hybrid of human/ mobian DNA with black doom DNA as the setting block keeping the two DNA mixes stable and his genetic background of family has mobian and human origins leading to him havinghe a visible neck but he wears a turtleneck like outfit to over it and also explains his lanky stature and unusual height as well as the odd quill formation
Ivo has a genetic deformation on his left red eye resulting in the pupil being slited/dilated having a sensitivity to lights and lights and coloring being brighter than normal. He is also color blind to blue and pink color tones that’s why he wears his glasses 24/7
ivo does wear a semblance of an inhibitor made into a necklace of smelted gold rings and a red carved crystal
without it causes an extreme overcharge of chaotic energy and explosions near the doctor leaving him comatose after wards or resulting in a berserker like mode morphing into more black arm-ish like form {yet to be drawn} being absolutely feral
ivo and shadow are genetically twins being from the same embryo in the testing tube but took more DNA parts and took less of the opposite
ivo took more from human {gerald’s DNA} than mobian leading to him being more human than mobian looking at all while shadow took more mobian than the human leading his appearance to a mobian then human, Doom’s DNA was the stablizer for both
ivo is able to siphon chaotic energy from the air by unknown means as he won’t share upon his work how but all his robots are built with a fan that takes the air of mobius and siphons the chaotic energy that resides in it having constant energy without needing oil
when ivo was a child the scientists in ark has been put through surgical examination of the inner workings of his body while he was still conscious leaving him with night terrors in present time
ivo used to dye his mustache brown when he was human
ivo is marked by dark gaia and as a result has somewhat of a dark gaia monster form in a way leading to insomnia and being more aggressive when the moon is full it as well marked him as the “awakener” or “disciple” for dark gaia

If you haven’t read either of them, I think it’d be interesting to read that article by Stuart Hall and Wilderson’s Gramsci’s Black Marx back to back. Wilderson’s attack on Gramsci probably appears, to most of us, a little bewildering. Why frame a discussion of antiblackness around Gramsci? When was Gramsci last relevant to anybody, anyway? Once you start reading things by black South African militants it makes more sense. Post-apartheid, Gramsci seems to have had more influence in South Africa than he did anywhere else in the world. There must be some sort of historical reason for this but I don’t know what it is, although it seems to me that no other country moved so abruptly from the ‘war of manoeuvre’ (the attack on the white occupation) to a ‘war of position’ (how do you assemble a revolutionary platform when even the bad guys are talking about ‘white monopoly capital’ and so forth?).
Wilderson was part of the armed struggle to liberate South Africa but was forced to escape the country in 1995 when the ANC (that’s post-Apartheid, Mandela’s party) labelled him a “threat to national security” and wanted to do who-knows-what to him, but he seems to have kept up with the pro-revolutionary milieu in South Africa. In an NPR interview in 2009 he brings up Andile Mngxitama, at the time a South African Gramscian pro-revolutionary (who would, in a few years, be expelled from the EFF and start a Leninist cult which leaks in 2019 revealed was funded and controlled by the billionaire Gupta family, mining and electronics monopolists).
So Wilderson returns to America and immediately attacks Gramsci and now we understand why. It’s obviously a ‘determinate negation’—the Gramscian theory of ‘civil society’ and hegemony remains a crucial part of Wilderson’s strategic language, he just supplements it by saying that it all runs on the libidinal circuitry of antiblackness and all of our attempts to capture it only return as new limits. So he wants us to ‘destroy civil society’ instead, and then (menacingly) ‘destroy the world!’ and then he won’t elaborate about what that looks like. It is, for a lot of readers, a bit of frustrating bravado which is impossible to act on.
But then you can go back about a decade and find this little article by Stuart Hall, another black Gramscian, where he’s analyzing the situation in the UK using Gramsci’s strategic language to talk about, of all things, political correctness, and he sees it (and I think he argues it quite well) as basically a defensive reciprocation made by leftists in reaction to the post-72 reconstitution of western democracies (the dissolution of social programs, austerity and so forth). The right, who were fighting to implement the reconstitution, began an offensive on the ‘social’ front (Lee Atwater can tell you all about how important attacking the rights of black Americans was to the success of the Republican party from the 60s-80s), and this offensive was able to capture civil society and form a hegemony, transforming minoritarian bigotries into a platform for the transformation of society. And leftists reciprocated by also moving to a ‘war of position’, retaliating on the same fronts, forming alliances with the autonomous movements, and he makes the case that this strategy was able to capture civil society and form hegemony in some cases, but was ultimately defeated, and ‘political correctness’, identity politics, etc., is this sort of retreat into minoritarian vanguardism (which is, btw, the same analysis Zizek makes).
So for Hall the question is: what is the bridge back? How do you get out of an insular milieu that only talks to itself, and back into a war of position that can “address the real fears, anxieties and confusions as well as pleasures of ordinary people” and “educate them into new conceptions of life" (!) and in this way “constitute majorities where there are now only fragmented minorities” which are capable of launching the revolutionary platform? And Wilderson seems to reply: “what if you couldn’t get back, out of the chaos?” Because for Wilderson those fears, anxieties, confusions and pleasures are all part of an economy of antiblackness, so the only way to address those fears, anxieties, confusions and pleasures of ordinary people and capture civil society is going to be to leverage antiblackness, and we’re back to where we started. So we’re supposed to find some third way, a third strategy, which is neither insular adventurism nor an ‘eductional’ mass line. What is this third way? Well, it’s not really any more clear to me yet, but at least we’re thinking about it in the strategic terms that it’s posed in...

* / BIOGRAPHY: The history of Genevieve Lallement is a tricky one. If you ask her, she became a creature of the night in some whirlwind fashioned tale filled with love, betrayal, and sacrifice -- all the makings of a heart-clenching closed shut story. But the reality? That's much more of a mystery.
Her genesis is one filled with darkness. No memories. No family. No nothing. The only solace coming in the form of her sire -- Cassius. He saved her from a fever that took many in late 19th century England and told her as much as he knew. That he had found her bedridden and sickly in a run-down isolation ward where patients were sent to die more than to be cured. Apparently, she had reminded him of a sister he’d once lost and he acted on an inner impulse to save an innocent. The staff had told him that she had admitted herself under what they proved to be an alias, so there was no way to notify family or even prove she existed.
She was a ghost. Alone in the world. And dying.
So, he gave her new life. Eternal life.
When she’d awakened from the transition, the ripe young vampire found herself unable to remember, well... anything. It was as if the transformation erased everything human about her, wiped her slate clean as she re-entered the world as someone else. Something else. Cassius said that vampirism isn’t a perfected process. There are some ailments that the immortal blood which now ran through her veins can’t heal. By the time he’d found her, her mind had already been overcome with the sickness that was moments away from snuffing her out completely. To drag her back from the depths of near-death, she had to lose some parts of herself along the way. There were some upsides, though. She clung to Cassius like a newborn, and he grew to coddle her as if she were his own. Being inducted into the Lallement family allowed her to see a world that was previously unattainable as a mortal having had come from the dregs of England. He’d brought her to New York at the turn of the century, and it was a sight to behold as she realized…this was HOME.
As the decades passed, the new Lallement glided through life. The adjustment to vampirism wasn’t as hard as it probably was for others. Sure, she had her hiccups, but it was almost as if the lack of memories helped. There was no other way of living for her to remember or to acclimate from. In some ways, there was no true loss. Her new family filled the voids ( even helped her pick out a new name ‘GENEVIEVE” ) showered her with endless love ─ and the bloodlust helped pick up the slack. For a while. As an immortal, it is easy to become distracted by the power, privilege, and play that is now bestowed upon you. But eventually, the semblance of loneliness and eternity creep in. For Evie, it was plaguing thoughts of the unknown that haunted her. Did she have a family when Cas took her away? Did they look for her? Mourn her? Soon all she could think of was the possibility that they somehow survived the plague and managed to continue on. This led her to try to trace their footsteps back to the town Cassius found her in to look for anything, any semblance of a clue that pointed to her previous human existence. Only for Evie to be faced with the harsh reality that the one hospital in town, the very town she’d believed herself to have been raised in, had burned down not long after they’d fled. Along with the patient records. Any possibility of tracing back her roots had been destroyed in a reckless accident and something in Evie c r a c k ed. Never again to be fully healed.
But if anything, she’s a survivor. Evie turned her sadness into something productive, going on to study criminology and criminal justice in the ’70s and '80s, along with a myriad of other majors she probably got too distracted to finish. Evie figured, if she couldn’t figure out the mystery of her own life, then the least she could do is help others figure out the mysteries in theirs. Becoming a private investigator sort of just happened, but it soon became her life’s joy. Piecing things together, going on recon missions, and doling out the truth was something that Evie not only excelled at but truly found fulfilling. At least ─ during the day. When the sun goes down, she resorts back to her party-girl ways, needing to find some sort of entertainment as a method to keep herself distracted. Because, you see, the only thing Evie hates most in the world is being by her lonesome. It leaves time for that inner sadness and loss to come creeping back in, to remind her that there’s nothing in the world to truly call her own. That the Lallement name is a placeholder for the truth. And that’s the one truth she cannot face.
So, she parties, boozes, pushes the limit because she has none, and there is always a need for M O R E. Because boredom is never on the menu. And when the town car arrives eventually to take her back to Manhattan, merely a few hours before she must be up for work, Evie revels in the few minutes of silence and thinks ─
‘Another day down. Only an eternity to go.’
* / PERSONALITY: Evie is, more than anything, fun. She likes to have a good time and to look good while doing it. Sure, her deviousness occasionally gets her into more trouble than intended, and in some ways, her childlike need to be paid attention to can be exhausting to people, but she is not all play. Evie truly enjoys being an investigator and will isolate herself for days, weeks even, if that means cracking a case. Her job and lifestyle have been carefully cultivated to always keep her busy so the facade can stick. No one knows about her growing concerns with the idea of unlimited time or the feeling of wanting a connection with someone -- anyone. Evie doesn't really give into supernatural politics or bias, and her ruthless side only comes out when hangry or when you threaten someone she loves. Then it's all-out chaos.
* / FUN FACTS:
She's gone to college several times and has studied many things but only holds a degree in Criminology and Interior Design
Currently paying a witch to figure out a way for vampires to get tattoos
Obsessed with all things horror and true crime
Officially identified as a lesbian in the late '60s
Has two poodles named Khaleesi and Drogon
Manhattan PD knows her by name
* / WANTED CONNECTIONS:
SCOOBY GANG/HARDY BOYS/7 RINGS - These are her people, her confidantes, her ride or dies. Can be supernatural or human, mortal or immortal. Whether they met decades ago or the night before, tipsy, in the Cosmopolitan bathrooms, they instantly clicked and have been loyal to each other ever since.
ROOMMATE(S) - Evie lives in one of the many ritzy buildings Manhattan has to offer. While having an entire floor to yourself has its benefits, it can feel quite isolating. So, the vampire opened up her doors to allow in some roommates -- free of charge!
ASSISTANT - As a private investigator, sometimes certain cases can become quite tedious. While her work rarely ventures away from mild cases Cassius needs help with, Evie does also take cases from anyone who needs help. Keeping everything organized, going with her on recon, and even offering their own input and theories is what they provide for her.
PLAYTHING - Now Evie isn't evil, she doesn't play with people's emotions ( at least not intentionally ) but she does indulge in the power and influence that comes with vampirism. Not only would this person be someone to go to for the occasional midnight snack ( where they're the snack sowz ), Evie would also indulge in their life. Making sure they're well taken care of, listening to the things they're going through, and being there for them whenever they need her.
FOES/ENEMIES - When you live forever you might make an enemy or three. Evie has ruffled a few feathers over the past century, that's for sure, and she has no problem continually poking the bear if she finds herself bored enough to do so.
also: literally anything else pls plot with me i'll send you kit kats and a coupon for a free taco.

okay so i did a breakdown and prediction for WandaVision before the show started and It's Turning Out To Be True, Guys, so I'm posting it below and just tell me if it's okayish or not-
Now, WandaVision marks the beginning of Phase 4 of the MCU, and it is in itself a pathmaking event because it shows normal life without the original Avengers. Now, the show explores Wanda's mental state after Vision's death in Infinity War, and how she uses her Chaos magic to create a 'pocket reality' where things are just what she wants them to be.
The entire series is set over 6 decades, and has a running theme of couples living in sit-coms throughout the years, the late 50s, the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 2000s and present. Now, my theory is that WandaVision is the beginning of a Multiverse Act that continues in Spiderman - 3 and culminates in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.
Now, as for the shots within the trailer, it seems that Wanda and Vision are changing their localities as time passes, and that is through the decades I mentioned above. Now, all the posters have this unique red-blue television static rip in the upper left corner, which is also the transition effect used by the editors whenever Wanda warps reality and tries to adapt to the passing, and this actually represents Wanda's warped reality fading away and opening up a multiverse. In the late 50s poster, there isn't much that suggests anything, just we know that this involves the b/w part of the show where Wanda and Vision are a newly married couple and Vision as a human, which is strange, because in all trailers/posters after that time, Vision is shown as the Android he is, from the 60s black and white where Wanda acts as Vision's assistant in the magic show, and now, the next transition is the most interesting for me because they shift into the era of coloured television and during this warp, Wanda becomes pregnant and slips into the stripes of the 70s - another fact is that the upper left rip is not normal, not it is a wood panel torn apart, like by a demon, which leads me to the obvious villainous entity for the show, Mephisto.
This marks Wanda's descent into confusion as to who is in control of this warped reality, because it may not be Wanda, it may be some evil entity who is using Wanda to get into MCU's Earth-199999 and is proved later when Jimmy Woo's voice is heard out of the radio saying "who is doing this to you?". Now, the 80s poster has a ton of references in the 2 paintings it has, one being a hybrid phoenix chicken, aka representing Vision, who here is both a hybrid between human and metal, and like a Phoenix brought to life by Wanda's magic from the ash he was left in by Thanos, and the second bird is a wren from Australia with varying plumage which is like Wanda, because her magic clashes with life in the same way. The next 90s poster is the most indicative too as this is the time where they have the twins, Wiccan and Speed, but interestingly, there's a picture on their wall with three, yes, three not two eggs, which is another reference to the fact that snarky Mephisto has snuck up into this reality using Wanda's magic, also the TV still here is of them in their original Avengers' goofy hallowe'en costumes, and the last shot is a trailer and poster mix where Wanda races out into their frontyard but there are 2 small bikes parked, meaning that is the 2000s where they live as a family of four, but what Wanda doesn't realise that Mephisto's using this fake family to claw his way into this reality and wreak havoc.
Some other shots that stood out to me were of Monica Rambeau constantly transitioning from friendly neighbour to outright "I don't know who (I am)", then the character of Agnes who I suspect is none other than Agatha Harkness from the West Coast Avengers comics where Mephisto, yet again, played with Wanda's chaotic magic and in a way it also merges with the House of X comic series where Wanda yet again creates a pocket reality (I mean, what is up with all the reality stuff) - another interesting thing is the beekeeper seen in the second trailer, which I propose is a reference to the way in which we make honey commercially, wherein the queen bee is kept incharge of a beehive with her subordinates, and she thinks that she is in charge, but the actual person benefiting from this is the beekeeper looking from above the hive, collecting the honey, just like it is here where Wanda thinks she is the queen but in reality it is Mephisto the Beekeeper looking from above the pocket reality using Wanda's brand of Chaos magic to enter into this reality.Â
I believe that the base of this entire series by which it will continue into the wider MCUÂ is The Mind Stone, because it was The Stone that gave Wanda her powers and also to the two men she loved the most - Vision and her brother Pietro. Now, there is an amazing amount of screen time given to shots of the Mind Stone in the trailer, the most intriguing of which is a tired Wanda with greyish hair looking up at the Stone with slivers of blue around it - this is the incident where Wanda received her Enhanced powers from Stucker is Sokovia and this indicates that there will be some flashbacks to earlier memories which may involve Quicksilver returning. Now, the Mind Stone is the smart one, so it has a certain intelligence which it imparts to those affected by it, as is evident in Wanda's Chaos magic and tele-abilities, Tony Stark's vision of the Earth ravaged and the Avengers dead, and maybe even Thanos's curse of Titan's fate. Now, for sure, the mind stone has been destroyed but this does not mean it hasn't already affected given the Universe changes.
Now, back in 2015, Marvel wasn't allowed to use the term "mutants" but now with the Disney-Fox merger, yes they can introduce the idea of mutants with Wanda and Quicksilver as the first in Sokovia, and then Wanda's Chaos-Mephisto born mutant kids Wiccan and Speed which of course may tie to the New Mutants storyline. Also, my theory is that mutants are made by a combination of both their mutant gene and exposure to cosmic radiation, just like Wanda was exposed to the Mind Stone. Also, the mutant gene may exist in specific closeted spaces of the earth like Sokovia, or just for the sake of an example, in Chernobyl cause well the incident. Now these mutant genes become activated on exposure to radiation, and well we have had Four Omega Level Cosmic Infinity Snaps by Thanos, Thanos, Hulk and IronMan, and there is plenty of reason to suggest that this may have triggered the mutant abilities. That is my first theory.
The second one involves Wanda unleashing her chaos magic in an exponential wave at the end just like she did in Age Of Ultron, maybe because she realises that in reality, Vision is dead and manipulation won't help, and in grief she lets out her power that rips upon the Marvel Earth 199999 to the Multiverse which will continue later for Doctor Strange and SpiderMan to put back to normal. This mega event was teased in the trailers where the S.W.O.R.D. helicopter escapes from a wall of red television like static energy, and yes, I expect S.W.O.R.D. to be fully involved in the last part of the show headed by Jimmy Woo and Darcy cause Darcy has had encounters with otherworldly beings and thus may be consulted here. The last act will culminate in Wanda and Vision rising back up to their original title of the Avengers and fighting Mephisto to stop him, but something turns and thus Wanda/Mephisto releases that wall of Magic to wreak havoc.
Also a side note - Vision will also play the act of a realist in the show where he makes Wanda realise that this is not the real earth and he realises that the Eastside/Westside area they live in as well as the people there are unusual, not real, but at the end comes to his usual humane proposition that they save them and the reality from the demon trying to wreak havoc.
TL;DR Wanda creates a pocket reality where she lives with Vision, maybe reincarnating him using her brand of magic in the grey android left after Infinity War, and as the decades pass by, their reality deteriorates due to the Satanic entity that is Mephisto, making his curses seem like blessings, but at the end Wanda and Vision try and stop this reality shredding with S.W.O.R.D and that leaves us with an indecisive future of the mutants, Vision's reincarnation(like said by Banner in Infinity War)/Vision's death and the coming of the Multiverse into focus.
That's it, I guess.
Sorry a bit long ik but i do this.

Diamond In The Rough
Dhawan!master x reader
Summary: There's a reason you've been so drawn to the stars. There's a reason the Master took such interest in you. There's also a reason he brought you here on this specific planet, in this specific spot, on this specific night: Only he won't tell you just yet. Because that would spoil the surprise.
Notes: a VERY happy birthday to the one and only @plethora-of-imagines! My partner in crime, consultant in all things masterful, kneecap thief and reason I started this whole page! Have a fabulous birthday queen- this one is most definitely dedicated to you. I hope it lives up to the hype! ❤👑🥳
Tumblr media
The universe was a very, very big place. This was a fact that you didn't need to travel with a time travelling alien to realize was undoubtedly true.
Learning about the universe on earth was... Limited. To say the least. Life beyond the stars was locked in the box of hypothetical conversation, pressed between the pages of countless philosophy and astrology books and stuffed into the midnight musings of "is there really life out there in the universe?"
For years that question plagued you, hung in your mind like a veil over the fading black spots of your draining day to day. Others would blame their extra terrestrial musings on too many drug trips in the 60's or college, some on late night conspiracy youtube binges. But you blamed yours on simple curiosity- 'if there truly was life out there, why haven't we met it yet?'
But as you grew older, that youthful wonder and curiosity in the universe became something of a fascination. You checked your horoscope every morning, held countless books on the subject- you’d even acquired an old telescope from a family friend. The lady you’d acquired it from said her father loved staring up at the stars every night, made it a part of his routine .You never understood why she looked so sad when she said it, but you soon came to understand the connection people had with the stars.
Or, better yet, the people who travelled among them.
People like the man who currently held your hand in his own.
"No way!"
"Yes way!"
"Master, you are NOT responsible for Roswell!"
"Really? Who are you going to believe, darling? Your 1000 year old alien husband, or a middle aged redneck blogger?"
You let out a small snorting laugh, the man beside you smiling fondly as you sighed and shook your head. You squoze your conjoined hands, allowing your head to rest back on the purple tartan blanket with a dreamy sigh.
The pair of you were on a hill, a large open plane of thick grass, lay on a blanket beneath an ocean of swirling stars. The TARDIS sat parked in the distance, the familiar shack you called home glowing with the fairy lights you'd insisted on hanging around the roof of the veranda. You'd both abandoned your shoes and socks, a picnic basket and empty plates sat to the side, a half empty bottle of wine and two glasses still standing. Your lipstick still freshly sat along the brim.
The Master had prepared the feast for you both, the basket full of fruits and delicacies from planets far and wide. You couldn't help but moan at the tastes and aromas that encapsulated your senses, the flavors causing beautiful chaos upon your tongue. You supposed beautiful chaos was the Masters speciality. You'd sat in his lap and opened wide as you allowed yourself to be pliantly fed, the guttural groan that escaped the masters lips as you licked the crumbs from his fingertips causing your whole body to tremble with delight. But now the pair of you lay side by side, the Masters coat abandoned and his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows as you both gazed up at the dazzling dark sky.
"I'm telling you doll, never dare a drunk alien prankster- They'll neck down a bottle and start a whole subgenre of conspiracy theories in a single afternoon."
The Master took a strawberry from the hole at his side, taking a bite and discarding the top as you continued to shake your head. He let out a disappointed sigh- but there was no bite behind the gesture.
"Don't tell me you believe the redneck."
You shrugged innocently, biting your bottom lip to hold back your smirk.
"I must admit I'm more inclined to, Master. That tinfoil hat makes them hard to resist."
The time lord let out a proud laugh, eyes scrunching shut as you allowed your attention to stray from the sky. You admired the playful scrunch of his nose, the small lines that formed besides his eyes and in the curve of his cheeks when he smiled. His lips would always part, exposing his teeth. You supposed his usual laugh acted as a snarl, a threatening gesture to all opposition that he took joy in causing such pain. But here, under the starlight, there was no malice behind his grin. This was simple, unstoppable happiness that held an innocence that was rare to the Master. Or at least, rare to the universe. It was a sight you knew happily too well.
"You still haven't explained, Master." You finally spoke, eyes soft as the timelord's head turned in your direction.
"It's simple, pet. There's this race from quadrant nine, all of them three feet tall and neon green-"
You lightly rolled your eyes and smiled.
"I don't mean Roswell, I mean tonight. But expect many more questions about that to follow."
The Master smirked teasingly, hair lightly falling just beside his eye.
"Noted- I'll be sure to dig out the photo album."
"Why here?"
The Masters smirk morphed into a light dusting of confusion. A scrunched brow, one eye slightly more squinted than the other.
"What do you mean, love?"
"I mean, why tonight? You said we had to be on this planet, on this exact night, this exact year."
Realisation soon spread across his face. He nodded lightly, lips pursed as he looked up in thought.
“What are you planning in that mischievous head of yours?”
The Master smiled, allowing himself to lay flat on his back once more. He pulled his hand from your own, allowing you to nestle into his side as he took hold of your other hand. Your rings clashed together with a gentle click of metal, the diamond shining bright in the white glow of the moon. You smiled, head softly resting upon the timelord's chest as his other hand rested upon his stomach, his hearts rhythmically thumping under your temple like thunder. He tilted his head to look down at you, brushing a stray hair from your face.
"The universe is... complicated, love. It's like, its like that book you were reading a couple days ago. God, what was the name? It began with an A-"
"Alice's adventures in wonderland?"
The time lord nodded, booping the end of your nose tenderly with his finger.
"That's the one. It's like Wonderland. And the time vortex is the rabbit hole. It's so easy to get lost, to fall deep within its walls and find yourself confused and discombobulated on the other end.”
You couldn't hold back your smirking laughter. The Master rolled his eyes, pretending not to notice your childish reaction to his choice of words.
“But when you do find your way it's… strange. Unusual. Every planet and constellation and dynasty a new nook and cranny for you to explore. Wolds upon worlds of crooked doorways and spiral tunnels and rooms full of doors that lead you right back to where you started.”
You hummed in thought. You supposed the universe was like Wonderland, in a sense- your life turning upside down the moment you followed the Time Lord into his TARDIS and down the rabbit hole. You snorted internally at the thought of the Master being somewhat of a white rabbit. He already had the pension for time down pat, and arguably his beard and messy hair acted somewhat as a fur coat. You wouldn't dare say it to his face, but judging by his unimpressed expression he’d already heard you.
“But then, once you’ve already reached the precipice of curiosity, you meet the people around you. Whole races and subspecies of people that exist in the same space and time and universe as you but are all so, so different. Some of them are bloody boring, like the Shushans. What's so impressive about having your mouth on the bottom of your foot? And don’t even get me started on the Yomno, i mean- how can your whole race tell the future from spitting on a grain of rice yet all be so god damn dull-”
“Master, you’re doing it again.”
“Doing what?”
“Getting annoyed at other races for being your version of boring.”
The timelord sighed, causing you to giggle. You gently nestled closer to his side, the Masters other hand reaching up to tenderly cup your jaw.
“But then, once in a lifetime, you find something truly unexplored. Like a disappearing cat, or a dodo that died long ago but refused to acknowledge its own extinction, or a girl that fell down the rabbit hole and into the hands of a certainly very mad man. A rarity among the rubble of the basic and mundane. I believe you humans refer to it as a diamond in the rough. The time lords were once like that.”
You let your gaze meet his, confusion dancing across your face.
“Diamonds in the rough?”
“No, they were the rough. I was the diamond.”
“Master!”
You playfully smacked him across the chest, causing him to chuckle deviously.
“As I was saying, before I was so lovingly interrupted, sometimes you find something beautiful. But also curious, a mystery that even the most uninterested man would be desperate to pry their nails into and figure out how they worked. What made them tick. What made them happy. What made them desperate..."
The Master's thumb trailed over your bottom lip, his own lips parted as you let out a trembling breath. His lips curved into a soft smile, watching you lightly squirm under his touch. He pulled his face in closer.
"Humans are simultaneously the shining diamonds and the disgusting scum of the universe. Civilisations have grown in their honour and crumbled at their hands but none of them, not one single human, ever have or ever will compare to you. You're the breathing equivalent of lightning in a bottle, a single drop of rain upon a field desperate for salvation from a drought. A blessing. A gift. My diamond in the rough of a universe that does not deserve a single part of her. I don't deserve you. But here you are.``
His thumb gently caught the tear that threatened to fall down your cheek. You reached up to cup his cheek, the timelord nestling into the palm of your hand. Your noses bumped together at the sudden proximity, and you could feel your heart racing like a steam train in your chest.
"But here I am." You smiled through your tears, a choked laugh emerging from your throat, your thumb softly caressing the apple of his cheek. You could feel his hot breath against your own, his eyes heavy with lust and adoration.
"With the man whom I love more than anything else in the universe, who's shown me things I could never have imagined and treated me like a goddess when compared to him? I'm positively minuscule."
The Master let out a huff, his breath caught in the back of his throat as your lips ghosted over his own.
"Don't you dare think you're anything less than the universe" He whispered, gaze fixated on your lips as your foreheads softly touched.
"Oh yeah? And what if I do?" You returned, your bottom lip brushing against the Master's own, tongue teasing at the time lord's top lip as he growled lowly, voice rough and restrained.
"i'll rearrange the stars themselves piece by piece until you understand just how pathetic it is in comparison."
The distance between your lips was essentially non existent.
"Prove it, Master. Please."
And prove it he did.
The Masters lips attacked your own with a desperate hunger, your eyes fluttering shut as the force sent you rocking backwards. You kept a tight grip on his face, keeping yourself steady as you pushed your lips back against his own. you'd be damned if the kiss were one sided.
His tongue slid in with ease, the hot taste of his tongue causing you to moan desperately against his mouth. The moan was reciprocated in earnest by the Master, his thumb gently pulling on your chin to allow his mouth further access to your own. You parted further, desperate to please, the sweet taste of your lips sending the time lord deeper into a spiral of lust.
You never knew how much you treasured the taste of his lips until the threat of their absence drew near, your own tongue forcing your way into his mouth like an anchor of perseverance. You took hold of both sides of his face, foreheads together as you hummed against his lips, causing him to crumble under your fingers with a chesty growl of dominance. He was hot fire, a delicious flame of lust licking and burning the inside of your mouth, and eventually the need for air forced your mouths apart.
The pair of you panted, breath escaping both parties as his arms wound tight around your shoulders, pulling you close. You gathered your breath as you nuzzled closer to the Masters side, lips red and glossy as you let your forehead rest upon his temple.
"That… Wow. I think you proved it."
"Did you ever doubt I would?"
You could hear the smirk in his tone, your eyes still fluttered shut as you came down from the high. You could still taste his mouth, the ghost of the strawberries still lingering on his tongue.
"I dunno Master… Still not seeing a tinfoil hat."
The eye roll was practically audible. The gasp certainly was.
"It's time, quick love, look."
You allowed your eyes to open, your gaze fixating on the stars above as they swirled in circular formation. Your mouth gaped open in shock as the pair of you sat up and looked to the sky.
"What are they doing?" You asked in wonderment, the Masters grip on you tightening.
"The whole reason we came here tonight. The once in a lifetime moment. Those drawings of the stars, the shapes they make. This is where they come from."
It was practically magic. Any other person would say it was witchcraft.
"Diamonds in the rough" you whispered, and the Master nodded triumphantly.
The stars swirled in ribbons of white, the dark black of the sky melting around them as the pin pricks in the black began to pulsate and grow with rapid speed. The stars began to link, intricate lines seared into the fabric of the sky like thread as the tiny stars began to merge and form into outlines of figures and shapes. A bear, a woman holding a sword, a pegasus with wings. Vast shapes of all sizes began to move and shift and form. Your eyes sparkled with wonder as the stars shone like diamonds.
It was too much to believe. Until they started to move.
Suddenly, the pegasus bucked up it's hind legs and began galloping across the sky. The woman drew her sword and charged, the scorpion's tale whipping in challenge. The bear plodded across the inky black, back pressed against the rams horns as it scratched itself as if upon a tree. All around you, hundreds of thousands of creatures moved and ran and flew across the darkness, the distant echoes of their commotion floating through the atmosphere.
A pair of lips softly pressed against your temple, trailing a line of kisses down until they ghosted over the shell of your ear.
"What do you think, darling?"
The Master whispered, breath hot on your ear and making you shiver.
"Its… Master its… Thank you. Thank you so much."
The tears from before had returned as the dazzling stars reflected in the sheen of your eyes, as the time lord beside you hummed in appreciation.
"Happy birthday, Y/N." The Master softly whispered, a tender kiss pressed to your cheek.
In an instant you return to facing him, your lips pressed together once more, stars a distant priority beyond the pull of your husband's lips.
The constellations above returned to their original position, the pulsating giants of the sky suddenly bursting like fireworks in the night. The stardust began to fall atop your heads like something out of a fairy tale, like raining pixie dust as the stars returned to their pin prick size, now shimmering like the lights around the TARDIS veranda.
But the pair of you were too busy for pixie dust. You didn't need the universe, or the stars, or magic at all.
You were already, well and truly, living happily ever after.

HECK YEAH alrighty here we go then! 1. Broadly: what do you predict we'll see from Klaus in s3? I know you've mentioned him snapping a bit- what're your thoughts on what that might entail? (1/?)
I think that Klaus is experiencing his first full moment of independence, especially power independence, at the same time he is experiencing extreme emotional turmoil. They’ve told us that alcohol (at east) does jack shit to prevent his powers. I think that he has spent a long, long time with people who (IMO) do care about him, but don’t think about him all that often. “Klaus is still Klau” as a modus operandi for the entire family, at least at default. Now he no longer has a Powerful or Moral (although I have my problems with this interpretation) Ben to lean on, I think we’re gonna see a Klaus who is coming into his own, who is hurting deeply in ways the sibling do not (and possibly cannot, Klaus lies and masks A LOT) know, and who feels that the turmoil inside of him belongs outside.
2. Do you expect to see Klaus’ powers expanded on in s3, and if so, how do you think they’ll go about that? I think levitation and telekinesis would be amazing but seeing as they’ve already given those away to his siblings, I don’t think it’s all that likely. I love your clairvoyance theory (more on that shortly), and I've been playing with the idea of a telepath or empath Klaus, something akin to his "channeling" powers from the comics. (2/?)
I think that probably the primary thing in store for Klaus is commanding ghosts and being possessed. These play together interestingly and are both extremely powerful. He can command an army without a second thought, and they listen to him, but also if he slips up they can jump in his body, he’s gone and they’re in charge. It’s an interesting and fruitful dichotomy and power structure. Also I think he can make ghosts possess other people. They made a big point of showing that Klaus was conscious before Ben entered Vanya’s mind. If he can command spirits, and spirits can possess other people that is a great deal of power. (Also, like, Klaus is able to make Ben not possess him. Neither of them may know it, but he DOES command spirits. He does.)
As to his comic powers, I think we may very well get them!! They’ve teased levitation multiple times in s2 alone, and I think this idea that a show about shitty superheroes would care if their powers were redundant does not quite vibe with me. Like, what’s the point of Luther if Vanya can stop bullets and lift a tank with sound waves. Klaus’s version of TK could EASILY have its own niche (no need for a trajectory or sound waves). I don’t want to promise that it’s coming because, like, focusing on his psychic related powers is more cohesive, but I don’t think that the option is in any way off the board.
3. If they go ahead and give him clairvoyance, how would you like to see that play out? 4. Similarly, do you think his possession powers will be explored further in s3? (3/?)
I think that giving him clairvoyance would be a very handy plot device on top of being interesting for the character. Klaus’s powers have pushed him to the extremes of apathy. Imagine what that would look like if he has the capacity to know everything? He is a person who deals with the hurt of others by denying everything. He has had too much asked of his empathy and compassion. Giving him clairvoyance gives him access to all the hurt in the world. I would love to see that. I would love to see his brain forcing him to care about people because in this particular regard he CAN 100% help.
Yes absolutely I think his possession powers will be explored further. I know this is a controversial subject, but I think the show took care to make it clear that is is awful and terrifying for him (however it was for Ben) and that it plays interestingly with his ability to summon and command spirits. It serves as a way to even the playing field, almost. He command them, they can take him over. That’s scary for everyone. I don’t think this is one and done at all.
4. I would LOVE to hear more about your thoughts on Hotel Oblivion's influence on TUA s3- disclaimer, I haven't read the comics (yet). (4/?)
YES OKAY. Based on my own personal desires and my knowledge of the comics (Sparrows locked up) and also the Sparrow crest, I think s3 is going to include at least some of Team Zero locked in the hotel. It could EASILY be all of them, but I could see Reg deciding to keep Five, and even Vanya. This would be interesting because it allows Five to age, allows Five to rest, allows Vanya to see the horrors of actually BEING on a super hero team, and requires 1-4 to save themselves, and in my IDEAL world, save Five from Reg, as well. It would be so fun to watch 1-4 escape the hotel and rescue Five. IMO the hotel is going to be the best if it is treated as a piece of horror. Not something they can understand, something simultaneously enticing and hostile, and something that they have to fight their individual Bullshits to escape. Whoever is in it. I think that would be beautiful.
5. How would you like to see Klaus' character develop this season? Seeing as s2 has left him unprecedentedly broken, I think this will lead to an AMAZING pay off in s3, esp when it comes to him being without Ben. His powers have so much potential (even w/o the comic book expansion pack) but they have all have come back to Ben's help. This is true of his choices too- Ben is constantly supporting/criticizing him. I'm so excited to see him alone and newly independent. (5/?)
YES SO MUCH. We watch Klaus shatter and regress completely in s2. I know a lot of people feel he wasn’t treated with respect by the narrative, and I respect that, but my general thinking is that this is a part of the whole, and everything we saw of him is in line with a) intense hurt b) the act he puts on. I think that Klaus shattered in s2. He killed the love of his life, he relapsed, and he did his best to make sure nobody cares about him. Ben turned into more of a harmful figure in his life than ever before, and now he’s lost him completely, left with only guilt, resentment, and complicated feelings.
I think Klaus is going to actually have to DEAL with himself. He’s been able to deflect or hide or bury his hurt and his power and everything else. Like you said, he relied on Ben for a lot, and now it is only him. I think he is going to externalize the chaos he feels inside (and so does Sheehan), and I think he is going to have to confront who Klaus REALLY is, whatever that means. I think he will admit he is powerful, he is hurt, and he is angry. Ultimately, I think this will lead to him with more balance, and he will have a better understanding of himself. But I think he MUST snap a bit first. Nobody takes him seriously, not even himself. He has to change that before he can move on.
6. How would you like to see Klaus' relationships with his siblings grow this season? I am wondering how him mourning Ben will be received by his siblings. I am also thinking a lot about whether him hitting rock bottom & truly alone for the first time will push him to be more vulnerable and open with his siblings OR if it'll be his breaking point where he shutters out everything he can, emotions and more OR a mix of both. (6/?)
This is a really good question. I’m not at all sure I have a definitive answer, but here I am typing anyway. I think the obvious setup of the first 2 seasons is that everyone thinks Klaus is fine, and that he can Manage, whatever that looks like. This includes Klaus. So my Most Fruitful Idea is to show that he isn’t fine, in a way he cannot hide. I feel like possession could be a good start to this, but so could him diminishing in his ability to respect ghosts, or many other things. Basically, I want the siblings to see through Klaus’s act. None of them, fucking none of them, ever have. He’s done his best to make that the case. I want the act to spread thin in s3, which I think is supported by how the act looks in s2, and I want the sibs to see through it finally, and I want it to be almost too late because he’s lost and angry and goddamn POWERFUL and he knows them in ways they have never known him.
Also, I like the idea of Klaus and Allison snapping together. They are the two who lack hope, the two who accept as a blanket the end of the world, the two who enable each other, and also the two who bonded with Vanya. Seeing them go down a dark path, and seeing Vanya recognize it and help them stray away from it? Amazing.
7. Any songs you would love to see in s3? (7/7) Sorry for the IMMENSE amount of questions, comments, and concerns, I have been pondering these things for weeks and since I always adore your tua content, I would love to hear your thoughts and any input from others!!
YES SO SO SO MUCH
I would love “Be True To Your School” by the Beach Boys because of the 60s and the irony factor. Any Bob Dylan song would send me to an early grave due to joy, but I’m gonna say especially “A Hard Rain’s A Gonna Fall” which is an incredible song about futility and trying and hurt. I also love the idea of ANY Masseduction by St. Vincent song, but I would especially nominate Masseduction, Young Lover, and Happy Birthday Johnny.
ALSO NO NO NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE AT ALL THIS WAS SOOOOOOOOOO FUN OH MY GOD do this any time (or come off anon and into my DMs I promise I’m friendly). Thank you so so much!!!

ask lightning round 2
my ask box went over 60 again so you know what that means
truly a mixed bag this time of real answers and, uh, fake answers! there are quite a few asks in here that I either 1) don’t have the energy to write an individual post for, or 2) straight-up do not know the answer!
Tumblr media
uh.......... is this not......... Lan Wangji’s character arc....... for the entire show........?
Tumblr media
honestly, the show did very little discussion of Xue Yang and his cultivation, which I found Very Strange considering that we know for a fact that he isn’t trained in any form of orthodox cultivation but can still go toe-to-toe with Xiao Xingchen -- who, presumably, has been training for his whole life -- for a decent amount of time in episode 10. He’s lowkey even more of a demonic cultivation prodigy than Wei Wuxian? Wei Wuxian had a formal education in cultivation theory at the very least before his resentful energy summer intensive in the Burial Mounds; meanwhile, Xue Yang is just casually out here re-making the Stygian Tiger Seal, and we don’t even know if he’s literate. truly, idk, I’ve found that if I think too hard about the side characters I either get upset because they all deserved better
Tumblr media
You’re not alone in this anon! I’ve heard folks say similar things on the YouTube comments for that episode, but I personally don’t have any more information than you do. I think the answer might lie somewhere in the intersection of hope and hallucination, desperation and despair, for Wei Wuxian -- it’s worthwhile noting that the “Wei Ying” we hear in Lan Wangji’s voice is what gets Wei Wuxian to finally lift his head up and start struggling to move again instead of just lying there
Tumblr media
oh it is absolutely that ambiguous in the original. the unclear pronoun antecedent you’re running into here in English actually doesn’t exist in Chinese, because again, this is a language where you can chop off the subject and still have the sentence make absolute sense on a grammar level!
Tumblr media
bam!
Tumblr media
no thoughts head empty just this post
Tumblr media
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm... I mean....... whatever reactions you can imagine people having..... they will have.....
We see how people feel about children out of wedlock in-universe (pour one out for all the illegitimate Jin kids), and people are suitably nasty about it, but also you have nice people like Lan Xichen who don’t lay the sins of the father at the feet of the son, so really........ whatever reaction you want people to have in your fic, they can and will have.....
I feel like specifically, in the case of Lan Wangji, the speculation would revolve around who the mother is, why the mother can’t take care of the child, and who the mother must have been in order for Lan Wangji to brave the hailstorm of gossip and slander that would follow this act. I like to imagine that after the initial maelstrom of chaos and ugly rumors, we get a resurgence of romantic young cultivators penning fanfiction about the tragic forbidden romance between Hanguang-jun and A-Yuan’s mystery mother. If there aren’t at least three horribly far-fetched theories about A-Yuan’s mother then you’re doing it wrong
This upsets Lan Sizhui more than he wants to let on until Lan Jingyi grabs Ouyang Zizhen and together they do an over-the-top dramatic reading of some of the more egregious ones until Lan Sizhui has no choice but to laugh and beg them to stop, please, before someone reports them for violating the noise ordinances in Cloud Recesses
bonus points if Lan Wangji walks in on the middle of this
Tumblr media
alas, I do not understand references to other MXTX works, but can I offer you this fascinating Wikipedia page?

Tumblr media
oh man... not going to get super into it now, but swearing in Chinese is different from swearing in English... there aren’t really exact analogues for expletives from one language to another, so odds are they were picking up on particularly vehement sentiments or emotions in the dialogue
I will say that one time I was taken aback by how vehemently Wei Wuxian was swearing was in episode 28, right after the staged fight between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng -- Wei Wuxian swears so vehemently that it doesn’t even appear in the subs, Chinese or English:
Wei Wuxian: 江澄 / Jiang Cheng,
用不用下手这么狠啊?!/ Did you have to be so ruthless?!
In between those two lines, Wei Wuxian says 你大爷的 nidayede, literally, ‘your grandfather’s,’ and considering that 他妈的 tamade / ‘his/her mom’s’ is probably the closest tonal analogue in modern Mandarin of fuck, Wei Wuxian upgrading it to Jiang Cheng’s grandfather is upping the ante quite a bit
Tumblr media
two separate anons about the same artist... perhaps I will return to listening songs in English now...

“Taylor believes we have evolved to be efficient interpreters of the fractals that surround us in nature—from lightning and waterfalls to the spiral arms of the Milky Way. Our bodies exploit fractal networks to maximize surface areas and help distribute oxygen, cells, and signals. Blood vessels branch out like root systems; the brain houses folds within folds. According to Taylor, this fractal-rich environment means we don’t simply enjoy looking at fractals—we are designed to process them effortlessly, and even have a need to be looking at them.
In a 2015 experiment, Taylor and a team of researchers showed test subjects computer-generated fractals on a screen, and then gradually faded the images. At the faintest levels, subjects were best able to detect images whose fractal dimensions were most prevalent in nature. “That’s also why you might see a face in a cloud,” Taylor says, or a profile in a rock face. “You’re so fluent at processing that information that your visual system gets a little trigger-happy and starts to see things in the image that aren’t actually there.”
Our fractal fluency begins with the movement of our eyes. When we look at a fractal, our eyes trace a fractal trajectory with a dimension of around 1.4 —no matter what the fractal’s dimension is. Nature’s most prevalent fractals share this dimension, falling within a range of 1.3 to 1.5. “If we lived on a planet where 1.8 was prevalent, we would have ended up with an eye trajectory of 1.8,” Taylor says. “Clearly what’s happened is our visual system has evolved.”
And we feel good when we do what we’ve evolved to do. In another set of studies, Taylor used skin conductance and EEG measurements to measure test subject’s reactions to viewing the mid-dimension fractals found most often in nature. He and his colleagues found the images reduced the mind and body’s physiological stress by as much as 60 percent, “an enormous amount for a non-pharmacological approach.”
In the mid-1980s, Harvard Medical School cardiologist Ary Goldberger discovered that the fluctuations in our heart rates that occur over the course of seconds correlate statistically to those that occur over minutes and hours. In other words, our heartbeats are fractal—and the more fractal they are, the healthier.
A fractal system, Goldberger explains, strikes an optimal balance between variability and order. Shifting that balance in one direction or the other—toward greater randomness or greater order—can wreak havoc. “Older or sicker [systems] lose the correlations,” Goldberger says, “or get pathologically correlated and lose complex variability.” When the heartbeat loses its fractal correlations, for example, it becomes erratic, resulting in arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. On the other hand, a steadier, more predictable and periodic pulse rate may point to congestive heart failure or cancer.
“Being fractal is a way for a system to be in touch with itself, talking to itself, but not locked in,” Goldberger says. “You can’t exist if you’re fixed at one frequency, but if you’re all over the place, that also doesn’t fly. It’s a compromise.”
Something similar is true of the brain. In patients with schizophrenia or depression, the brain’s electrical activity (as measured by electroencephalograms) is often too complex; in subjects with epilepsy, it’s not complex enough. In the brain, as in the heart, “just right” means just fractal enough to walk the line between chaos and order.
This intersection between our experience and fractals may run even deeper than Taylor’s evolutionary hypothesis. “Any act of creativity is an act of physiology,” Goldberger says. “The extent that we are fractalized in our essence makes you think that maybe we would project that onto the world and see it back, recognize it as familiar. So when we look at and create art, and when we decide what to take as high art, are we in fact possibly looking back into ourselves? Is creation in part a re-creation?”
One potential manifestation is a much-debated and controversial theory of consciousness proposed by physicist Roger Penrose and anesthesiologist Stuart Hameroff in the mid-1990s. About a decade earlier, Penrose suggested that consciousness results from quantum computation taking place in the brain. Hameroff followed up on this work with the suggestion that the brain’s quantum processing happened not at the level of the neuron but in microtubules, tiny structures within neurons responsible for cell division and structural organization. Proteins inside the microtubules contain clouds of delocalized electrons whose quantum behavior can cause vibrations in the microtubules to “interfere, collapse, and resonate across scale, control neuronal firings, [and] generate consciousness.”
So where do fractals come into play? It is known that EEGs, signals correlated with conscious awareness—like Goldberger’s heartbeats—exhibit fractal dynamics in the time domain. Hameroff argues that the fractal hierarchy of the brain also exists in the vibrations that resonate across the scales of the spatial domain, from the dynamics of networks of neurons, to the neurons themselves, to the dynamics of their microtubules. “Consciousness can move up and down the fractal hierarchy,” writes Hameroff, “like music changing octaves,” resonating across levels.
Giuseppe Vitiello, a physicist at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics in Italy, takes a different approach to the application of quantum physics to brain dynamics (using quantum field theory instead)—but he, too, likens it to an ordering along fractal lines. Like a magnet, he says: disordered on the microscopic level until a trigger causes the magnetic “arrows” to all point in the same direction and result in an organized macroscopic system. Vitiello showed that the advent of this coherent structure—namely, of coherent quantum states—corresponds to the way fractals are represented mathematically. In other words, underlying the brain’s fractal processes is quantum coherence.
According to Welch, perceived time is not a linear progression but a “layering.” A fractal. This “fractal-ness” changes as we do: Infants, for instance, live purely in the present, she says, not dividing time, surely not experiencing it the way we do now. That’s why, for them, the delta-wave brain state—similar to what’s seen in adults in deep sleep—dominates, according to Welch. “And then, as we grow into childhood, we start seeing faster brain waves, theta brain waves … then alpha waves, and finally beta waves once we reach adolescence.” This layered understanding of time, she says, corresponds to how we increasingly divide time into smaller and smaller pieces.
And with it, “it’s also our internal density increasing,” Welch adds. “As we get older, we switch, taking in the complexity that surrounds us and recreating it inside. Our internal fractal dimension—that internal density—is increasing.”
In this view, it was quite natural for Pollock’s drip paintings to become more and more fractal as he grew older. They may simply have been mirroring the increasingly fractal nature of his own self. As he said himself, “Painting is self-discovery. Every good artist paints what he is.”

no noo i am previous anon and i am BACK tell me everything about the royal family i wanna know
yesSS!!! I will tell you ahhhHH!!!
ok so basically, the whole system is wack. The queen does nothing. absolutely nothing except sit there and look pretty and shake people’s hands. (which is soft power and is important but i’m not really going to get into that)
she used to do things like back in the 70s when Australia's pm was going to go into a government shutdown (except she didn’t actually do anything since it was actually someone acting on her behalf lol) and she basically fired him and said no. they had a reelection real fast and then everyone got on with their lives.
since that happened, everyone kinda looked at that and said “hmm maybe we don’t want that power unchecked” so parliament went and passed a law that said the queen still has that power.... except 2/3 of parliament has to agree. so she basically lost that power to parliament.
Another power she has is she has to approve every parliament bill. Except... she can’t refuse. no ruler has disapproved a parliament bill since.... a long time ago. like 100s of years. And when that happens, chaos breaks out. So she doesn’t do that.
Not a power, but the royal family is a lot more likely to get a blind eye from law enforcement. Like when Prince Philip (the queen’s husband) flipped his car in 2019, “ An example of this is when Prince Philip at age 97, flipped his Land Rover when he collided with a car with two women and a nine-month old baby in January of 2019 while not wearing a seatbelt. The driver and passenger in the other car were injured, but the baby was not. Prince Philip was not charged although he voluntarily gave up his driver’s license (Pérez-Peña). Most other citizens would have been charged £500 and up to three penalty points (twelve penalty points cause license expulsion).” (quote from my own research essay which I will not give proper attribution to uwu) There’s not really evidence on how far this goes, but it’s definitely a problem since some citizens gain more leinecy from law enforcement based directly upon their genetic identity (*COUGH COUGH*)
so we have: the queen does nothing, the queen gets special privileges and blind eyes, oh and did I mention the taxes on the British people?
When I was doing all of this research a few years ago I initially figured that the amount of tax money that goes to the royal family for everything (housing, food, events, security, fun things) would be relatively substantial. like, they’re literally royalty, right? but actually, the average tax payer only pays about 69 (nicee) pence a year to support them. “A main concern for keeping the royal family are the taxes that are put upon citizens to fund their costs of living, including weddings, parties, and unnecessary classes. Removing the royals would not make much of a difference to taxes, as they only cost the average citizen about 69 pence every year (Nicholl).” (no attribution to myself again) This actually is the recently raised tax as well, since a tax law was passed a few years ago to repair Buckingham palace so it wouldn’t literally fall apart.
(Also important note: the queen doesn’t pay for everything out of tax money. She actually has finances that are family finances (not from royal lineage, she wasn’t supposed to be actually in line for the throne until she was like 12 or something when her uncle abdicated, putting her behind her dad who then turned into the king) and those finances are used for a lot of their personal stuff)
so the queen does nothing, but at least she’s cheap, so it’s not really useful to keep her around but it’s not really detrimental either, at least legally speaking.
If you look at it from a tourism perspective though, the queen is kinda helpful. So over here in America, we’re all about democracy and throwing tea into the harbor and all that good shit (in theory *cough cough*) so in American culture, queens and kings and princes and princesses are only in fairytales. This means that when we hear that there are Real Life Fairytales just across the pond, we want to investigate. So Americans pour a good amount of our lovely American dollars into Brit’s pockets just because “queen on coin ooohh gotta spend that coin ooohh gotta stay in a hotel and look at a real life palace ooohh so cool so different” and I am not joking. But they don’t pour enough money to really make it worth it. retired places such as the tower of London already make most of the tourism money and if the queen were to retire, Buckingham and kensington palace would continue to make a sufficient amount of money. this quote is also relevant, “A point is made by Mace-Archer-Mills who claims that the living history and the physical presence of the Royal Family are what draw people to the UK. However, Graham Smith dismisses this point by simply stating, “This is a debate about democracy and about politics and about power. We shouldn’t be basing our Constitution on what people find entertaining on their holiday.” (Smith).” (once again i’m not giving myself attribution uwu)
***Important note: if any of you decide to research this, republican in this sense means anti-contsitutional monarchist, not an American republican
so the last big point that i’ll bring up is the very real fact that no one wants to rule
as we saw earlier this year when harry and meghan left the royal family, the pressures of being in the spotlight and having rules about what you can wear, what you can say (the royal family cannot express political opinions. they must be non partisan (in theory)), are very harsh. This becomes more so when you’re the head of the monarchy. Have you ever heard the queen say something controversial? even slightly controversial? probably not. (but then again i’m in the US so I don’t pay attention to what the queen says that much ngl lol) so the next person in line for the throne is Prince Charles. turns out no one like Prince Charles. no one. a lot of people think that’s the main reason why the queen is in her 90s and still on the throne, she dosen’t want Charles to rule. He’s too controversial for that kind of position. Like, every political party disagrees with him (kinda impressive ngl). people claim he’s basically a 60+ year old spoiled brat. It’s rumored that he got into the Uni of Cambridge because of his position, not his intellect (which Cambridge denyed but come on) He’s also a new grandparent and has said that he would like to spend time with his family and focus on being a grandparent. Prince William (the one Dan met) is also very focused on his family and charity work and wouldn’t want to rule either.
TL;DR, I think the monarchy should be continued up until the moment the current queen dies (which, sadly, will be soon). After that, the monarchy serves no purpose and should be eliminated due to it’s uselessness in a modern society. She should be replaced with an elected official who acts like a president and is a leader with soft power (handshakes and looking pretty), but also has the power to veto and actually approve bills.
Thanks for coming to my tedtalk!! lmk if you have any questions!! :D

do you have any second doctor big finish audio recs? :0
oh my gosh yes i do!! i could talk about 2nd dr audios forever so thank you for the question! my top recs for full length stories are
the edge- 2, zoe, and jamie land on an asteroid with one of the best laboratories in the universe on it, and while zoe and the doctor are super hype to check out the science stuff being worked on, jamie can tell that something’s off and has to save his friends. this one’s from the second doctor companion chronicles vol. 1, and it’s super engaging and a super interesting story. fun, not dark or heavy, says fuck big pharma, has some really good jamie content
the jigsaw war- in the middle of a standoff between human military forces and the aliens native to the planet they’re occupying, jamie is kidnapped and interrogated in the human’s base, but he’s living events out of chronological order, and something’s REALLY off about his interrogator. this one’s one of my favourites but it’s definitely not a standard companion chronicles audio(it’s radio play form rather than narrated/audiobook form). it’s really cool and contained and has good jamie content of course. it all takes place in one room which i like
helicon prime- jamie and the doctor are on holiday, but there’s a murder at their resort and they have to solve it! this one is on spotify for free, if you’re okay with ad breaks in your audios. it’s another companion chronicles one and it takes place in two different times (one before jamie’s memory wipe and one after) so that’s pretty cool. very fun vacation adventure but with sad parts
the wreck of the world- the tardis crashes into a massive space ark that shouldn’t be floating there in deep space. zoe gets split up from the guys and ventures around alone, discovering an abandoned migration ship with some very creepy history. meanwhile, the boys go looking for her and run into a scavenger team also on the ship. very VERY cool plot with very cool writing and tons of character parallels which i love. also super atmospheric.
my favourite short trips ($3 each on the big finish website)
lepidoptery for beginners- this one’s great just for the narrator. the way he plays the villain is so great and so funny and charismatic and he brings a lot of life to the story!! the plot deals with chaos theory and cause and effect in a really cool way, and also has some robot sentience which is always good
last day at work- this one’s free for download on the big finish website and the premise is amazing: as part of the tardis’s original disguise as a 60s police box, its chameleon circuit also generated an artificial policeman. now, that policeman is convinced he’s real, and is altering time and space to stay with the people he’s grown to love
deleted scenes- all my ‘jamie is a movie star’ jokes come from this one. jamie and the doctor stay in paris in 1908 for a couple of months, during which jamie acts in a couple of silent films and the doctor messes up the web of time. has a little cameo from 4 and sarah jane!
bruh this got too long rip i just love talking about these audios sjdhfkj if you end up listening to any of them please talk to me abt them!!

@geisterwand I’m bringing you up from the replies into a whole post because you need to sit down and listen
You are a disingenuous asshole. Bernie never chose the precise location in Texas for the waste disposal, and if you store it somewhere wet it contaminates the groundwater table. You're just posting disinformation. Next, the "wow how DARE he run against a wamen!!1" whinging is stupid as fuck
Bitching and concern trolling because Rogan, who committed the horrible crime of having 5 year old bad tweets endorsed Sanders, but being completely silent with the NYT endorsement of Warren despite the NYT's role in starting the Iraq War which killed hundreds of thousands of people, displaced many more and pushed the region into further chaos. But hey I guess to you, bad tweets are just SO much worse than dead citizens in the ME
you're also, of course, intentionally and dishonestly misquoting him about Castro but I think it's pretty clear at this point that even a fleck of honesty is too much to expect from you
and ALSO if it's apparently misogynistic to dare to run against warren, then it's also anti-semitic for warren to run against sanders. go figure out which of those ranks higher on the idpol totem pole and get back to me
You are a nearly 30-year-old man with an anime blog ranting at me in the notes of my own post because you can’t conceive of holding a man accountable for his own electoral failures. You are a grown-ass adult man talking like this in the year 2020. You have ZERO basis to stand on here.
I am not, in fact, a “disingenuous asshole.” You are the one that came onto MY post (SEVERAL of my posts actually. Like...bro. Get a fucking life) to genuinely tell me that, because I said that y’all have been rude-ass motherfuckers to everyone for five years and trashed anyone that remotely disagreed with you and I was no longer going to hold your hand about your shitty behavior, said that “performative woke class reductionism is not "progressive"” AS IF that hasn’t been Bernie Sanders’ playbook his entire goddamn life. You’re an utter joke.
But to actually answer your rant:
Bernie put his name on that legislation and advocated for it. He supported dumping Vermont’s nuclear waste in Sierra Blanca, a poor Latino community in Texas. He said on the fucking House floor he was in “strong support” of the measure. And he refused to talk to environmental activists about it in 1998, because “My position is unchanged, and you’re not gonna like it.” When they asked if they would visit the site in Sierra Blanca, he said AND I QUOTE: “Absolutely not. I’m gonna be running for re-election in the state of Vermont.” It’s not disinformation. It’s pure hard fact.
He did the same kind of nonsense with black people from the 60s until 2015...so well that the only thing his supporters can dredge up for how much he’s “supported” the black community can be distilled down to “well he was arrested that one time at a de-segregation protest in the 60s!” Vermont has one of the absolute lowest percentages of black people in the entire country and they make up nearly 10% of the criminal justice system. He did nothing. I can name more.  Sorry your fave isn’t pure and doesn’t actually give a shit about non-white people until he needs their votes.
“How dare he run against women” that’s not what I meant and you know it. If he was so desperate for Warren to run in 2016? If he was SO SURE a woman could win the presidency? Why the FUCK did he declare his candidacy two weeks after she declared? For someone that supposedly begged her to run in 2016, he and his campaign did every damn thing he possibly could to undercut her run this go around, from declaring another run 2 weeks after she declared to the smears and “lying snake” shit to the "fauxgressive" nonsense. You know how he could have PROVED he thinks a woman can win the presidency? By throwing his full support and fundraising apparatus behind her after she declared her intent to run. Instead he, a 78-year-old white guy who just had a whole-ass heart attack 6 months ago, decided he needed to make another failed presidential run to appease his ego. I have no sympathy.
Acting like Joe Rogan, a racist, misogynistic, and transphobic fool that peddles in conspiracy theories, is in any way equivalent to one of the largest and generally most-respected newspapers in the United States (and one whose staff has changed several times over in the past twenty years) is utterly ridiculous and you know it.
Also, Bernie Sanders courting Joe Rogan fans before a single vote had been cast in the Democratic primary is a PRIME example of why he lost so terribly on Tuesday. He showed his true colors too early. He showed where he’d go hunting for votes in the general election. He looked at black voters and said “I care more about the votes of racist Trump voters than I do you.” He looked at women and said “I care more about the people who listen to Joe Rogan’s sexist drivel more than I care about you.” He looked at the LGBT community and said “I care more about the people who agree with his comments over you.” And they saw that...and they voted accordingly. That’s on y’all...and it’s a prime example of Bernie Sanders’ terrible political judgment and uh........what was that? “Woke class reductionism?” That’s a good term; thanks for using it. It’s apt for what he thought he was doing with that nonsense.
And no, I’m not. This is a consistent thing with Bernie; he’s all like ‘oh I oppose authoritarianism and of course they did shitty things!’ but then he keeps praising authoritarian regimes that murdered millions of people because they were socialist/communist and “damn we need that economic system here!!!!” There is a time and place for nuanced discussion about what a regime did well or badly. Making those kinds of comments when you’re trying to win the votes of people whose families were literally murdered by those regimes and fled to the United States to escape them? Not the time or place. Again: terrible political judgement, class and economics over intersectional solidarity and empathy for their multi-generational trauma.
It’s not misogynistic to run against Warren. What’s misogynistic is the way he and his campaign ran against her and treated her the entire damn primary. Keep the fuck up.
Thanks for misrepresenting me and my opinions. Thanks for deigning to grace me with your shitty political viewpoints on my posts. Thanks for “getting involved with politics bullshit” since your blog bio says you don’t like it. And thanks for deciding that I apparently give one single solitary fuck about what a Bernie Sanders apologist has to say to me today, because I don’t and I am exceedingly glad you gave me this lovely, wonderful opportunity to show you just how much I no longer care about appeasing y’all’s nonsense after five years of listening to y’all WHINE about how Bernie was “cheated” and how it “wasn’t fair.”
Life’s not fair, buddy, and you’re going to find that out when Bernie Sanders loses to ANOTHER subpar moderate candidate for the second time in a row because y’all spent five years straight trashing 70% of the party and then spent the last 8 months trashing your ideological allies, and then arrogantly assumed you are still entitled to their votes because “his policies are popular!” Go back to your anime and video games, grow the fuck up, and learn from this experience.

Talks Machina Highlights - Critical Role C2E64 (May 28, 2019)
Another week, another adventure into the the wild and dangerous minds of BWF and his wacky sidekicks. I have to say, the quality of Critical Recap has increased dramatically since it first started. Awesome job, Dani! Tonight’s preroll is the celebration of the birthdays of Laura & Liam, which is today, May 28. For those who don’t know, this shared birthday is why they decided to create twins in the first campaign.
Tumblr media
Tonight’s guests: Taliesin Jaffe & Matt Mercer.
Tonight’s announcements: Next Monday, June 3, the episode with Ashley Johnson of Between the Sheets will finally air at 7PM Pacific. Brian says she hates talking about herself, but he got her to open it up. They’re already filming season 3 of Between the Sheets, and that will drop monthly episodes once it begins airing. The My Little Pony oneshot, led by Mark Hulmes from High Rollers, will air this Friday night, May 31, at 7PM Pacific. Roger Craig Smith will be one of the special guest stars on that episode. Tales of Equestria will be loaded to YT on Sunday. Denver Pop Culture Con will be this coming weekend. Limited photo and autograph tickets are still available.
Episode 64: A Dangerous Chase
CR Stats: The phrase “end of the day” was used 11 times this episode. 5 things were invented: “don’t shoot the messenger,” “don’t beat a dead horse,” “par for the course,” the game of golf, and ravioli. Laura held Jester’s astonished look for 15 seconds. CR has now aired over 800 hours in total.
DMing for Colbert was surreal for Matt. It was a week one pipe dream for Matt, which means he was a little afraid it would be a letdown. As soon as they began talking about Stephen’s history, he started feeling more comfortable, but it wasn’t until he saw the first cut the next day where he realized how great it had been. He hopes it isn’t the last opportunity they have to play together. They managed to raise over $100,000 for Red Nose Day.
Caduceus is taking a Mary Poppins approach to talking to people as a way of teaching by example. He hopes people will realize that you don’t have to always use violence to get the information you want. Taliesin, on the other hand, realizes that will never happen. Matt talks about how much he really likes the the impact Caduceus has had on the game, and both Tal & Matt talk about the 3-4 day planning session they had on what high wisdom/low int looks like. “That’s rough, buddy.” “Ahh, that’s exactly what that looks like.”
The M9′s deception during Speak with Dead was a little better than Matt had anticipated, so he gave away a little more information than he’d originally intended. Tal talks about how this must have been something Clay watched happen many times growing up in a funeral home, seeing his family Speak with Dead in order to give peace to a grieving family. It’s an interesting juxtaposition of seeing something his family used a bunch of times growing up being used in a very different way now.
The Charis DC was just because it was a very very high DC--but not impossible. There are people in the world who know about it, but they wouldn’t have reason to cross paths with the M9. It would be like an archaeologist.
The stern Cad during the interrogation was partly an act, because he was trying to perform, but also because there’s a bit of Cad we haven’t seen yet. They all agree that in the cast of CR Ashley is the most actual zen. Everyone agrees Travis isn’t even in the running.
Cosplay of the Week: @graviteacosplay with this nifty Nott cosplay.
Matt was a little surprised they took a path just straight through the Barbed Fields instead of taking a more circuitous, safer route. He expected the rest of the group to protest and was more surprised when they didn’t. They talk a bit about Fjord as an agent of both order and chaos and about how he’s trying to find his place in the world.
The near-death experience has left Cad in a place where he’s not making the best decisions right now. He knows this is dangerous, but he knows they need to check it out, and since they’re “on a mission from God,” everything they do is right. “His risk assessment is a little off right now.” Matt is delighted remembering Sam’s face; BWF points out it’s rare we get one on Sam like that.
The Sorrowsworn are scary because they’re entirely based on emotion. To further develop them, Matt likes looking at their abilities and basing their movement in a horror-film way off that. He knew he would get Travis; he wasn’t expecting to get the rest of the table. “I was very proud.”
Tal has no idea how Cad will process these horror creatures. He wasn’t frightened or freaked out by the grotesque, but he wasn’t really prepared for it, and having Caleb go unconscious was a bit of a fright.
Brian mentions for probably the third time in this show that the next season of Blindspot will be the last one. I’m getting the feeling he’s very ready for it to be done.
When Matt was developing Xhorhas, he wanted to develop all these other societies without the ties to the dark gods. How would they develop with their clan ties? What about as people were assimilated into the clans? What tropes has he seen in other media that he needs to avoid? He talks about how when you build independent areas of your world, it’s a helpful thought experiment to imagine what would happen if they collided. He developed a lot of Xhorhas in pockets and then put it all together.
Tal asks Matt if he was surprised they’d picked up the dodeca. He wasn’t exactly surprised--he’d planned for pretty much all the outcomes of that particular early encounter. He’d meant it more as an exploration of the intro to the Xhorhas world and the Krynn dynasty.
Tal laughs about his very visible reaction to Laura’s Vex voice coming out of Jester this episode. It had nothing to do with his efforts at diplomacy later; he just realized he hadn’t been paying enough attention and had no idea what part of Jester this was supposed to be coming out of.
Fanart of the Week: Just a couple of bugs flyin around, by @_sunsetdragon.
In talking about Clay’s pranks on his siblings, he thinks at some point they at the very least took the bed of an errant sibling out while they were sleeping and put it in a tree overnight.
Matt talks about how if there’s nothing in the books that suits the monster he needs, he just creates one. Tal & Matt start talking about a monster he made for an old campaign called a Dragon Engine; it was designed to build a disease that turned all dragons in a world to crystal, which in turn slowly destabilized the world/planes. Matt took a Dollar Store doll head and covered it in Saran Wrap & hot glue with wings & tentacle bits in odd places. His inspiration was a fetus god boss from the Dark Stalker series. Tal remembers being so annoyed he made this amazing, horrifying creation out of four dollars’ worth of miscellanea. Matt talks about how you can do a lot of amazing things with a bit of hot glue (veins, paint, skinless surfaces).
Cad is aware that the the Xhorhouse is a stationary point in his quest; he is not measuring his quest via distance. He feels okay being stationary right now.
Dunamancy had nothing to do with Caleb; Matt had that inspiration on his own as he was developing the Krynn dynasty. It just ended up working very very well with Caleb’s backstory. He talks about how when he reads theories on Reddit about things linking up, 60-70% of them are actually complete coincidence.
Caduceus has zero interest in the war. At best he doesn’t really like the Empire, but Tal doesn’t think he has the intelligence to formulate a more complex opinion on the war. He has no stake in or understanding of the war in any deeper capacity.
Shakaste’s current location was made up on the spot. Everyone thinks about who Shakaste would main in Overwatch. Matt pulls out the McCree voice. Bastion’s short is Matt’s favorite. BWF loves Reinhardt’s. All three of them start talking about John Wick 3 which I HAVEN’T SEEN YET, GDI, if they spoil that I’m going to weep bitter tears of bitterness. Okay, good, we get out alive.
And we’re done and done! We linger on a shot of Matt & Tal trying to figure out why Episode #69 is funny... (nice).

@circe1fanatic I’m responding here because this is much easier than annoying OP with remarks that are somewhat off the topic of Arya and trying to keep my response w/i the bounds of tumblr’s comment word limit
We’ve got a few different things where we’re not seeing eye-to-eye and I think it’s muddling what we’re both saying
Firstly: Harry and Sansa’s Marriage to begin with
The Vale is in Lannister-Baratheon's control in name only, through their appointee Littlefinger. The Vale Lords were rumbling to rebel to join Robb's war and declare against Joffrey - remember, the going theory is that the Lannisters killed Jon Arryn for ~reasons~. They all hate Littlefinger and many of them probably don’t recognize Tommen as legitimate King because he’s a bastard born of incest. They’d accept any excuse to go to war at this point - like supporting young, beautiful, present Sansa Stark’s claim to her home that will also mean vengeance for Lord Jon. And especially with the imminent collapse of the Lannsiter-Baratheon-Tyrell regime when Aegon shows up, why not now?
In Sansa’s second or third or fourth chapter, some news arrives from King’s Landing along the lines of “Good Tidings, our King’s murderer is dead! Long live  King Tommen! Also P.S. Cersei has no power.” The poor dead dwarf who Mace + co. think is Tyrion obviously isn’t, but no one in the Vale knows that when Tyrion is literally on the other side of the planetos. Littlefinger sees this as a time to strike - finish off Robin if he’s not dead already, marry off Alayne, reveal her identity.
Secondly: Sweetrobin’s Murder
Littlefinger is very good at hiding things and manipulating situations in his interest. My expectation is that Sweetrobin’s death is brushed off as an accident or framed as a plot by Maester Colemon to kill Sweetrobin for ~reasons~ (see: the framing of Marrillion). My guess is that this actually is an accident, with Sansa commanding Sweetrobin to drink his milk, thinking the forgetful Maester forgot to give it to him, giving him a double dosage on accident, and then he dies in his sleep. The guilt will be immense when she realizes it, but put her in a nice, morally grey dilemma like TWOW will be full of for everyone.
But when Sansa reveals herself to marry Harry, the Valemen will probably default to their search for a fight. They most certainly will realize that through Sansa and Harry’s combined blood and claim, they have a chance to raise Harry as king of the Mountains, North, and maybe even the Trident (through Sansa’s Tully blood). Compared to the mess going on in the South - and this is just about when Aegon takes King’s Landing and Cersei flees to Casterly Rock - why not try and declare a new king? It’s all the rage these days.
Thirdly: Does the Actual Legality of Sansa’s Marriage actually matter?
The answer is almost certainly no. At least not to the plot. We’re going to deal with a lot of information that may not actually shape the general trajectory of the plot but will certainly frame the characterizations. Example: I don’t think Jon’s parentage means anything to anyone except him. He questions who he is, what this means, and if he really is who he thought he is. Since we discussed the will earlier, I think it ties in here. Whether or not Jon is crowned KitN or LoW doesn’t matter. What matters is that he recognizes that the man who always considered him a brother was willing to make him one in truth. It doesn't matter that he’s biologically Rhaegar’s - he’s still Ned Stark’s son anyway.
And think of what this false marriage does to deconstruct Sansa’s identity: a maiden’s value is tied up to their purity and their marriage and the children they have. Now, she’s committed adultery and bigamy and is totally against the socially perfect role she previously inhabited. But this has no effect at this point cause we’re probably halfway into Dream, there’s a bajillion armies that need feeding and retreating Northern smallfolk that need support and shelter and as acting lady of the castle for your pick of Jon/Rickon/Bran, it’s her role in the War for the Dawn to figure out all those logistics. Somewhere along the way, she realizes her place as a worthy Stark of Winterfell isn’t determined by her husband or her lady-ness, but by her blood and her being “stronger in the walls of winterfell.”
Fourth: Will Littlefinger get away with murdering Robert (and Lysa, and Jon, etc.)
Oh, definitely not. But the only person with all the knowledge to bring him to heel for his crimes, who through this information will further get support from the Lords of the Vale with their wains of food and well-rested knighs to her own cause? Sansa Stark.
Finally, does the lord of Winterfell matter?
Nope. My predictions:
Stannis claims the North by winning Winterfell, but Ramsey escapes, sends the Pink Letter, and generally causes chaos around the North
{some unknown things happen in the North, including news of Jon’s “death”}
Eventually, Sansa shows at Winterfell. She is the first Stark to arrive because she is metaphorically the furthest away from Winerfell at the start
As Stannis is figuring out what to do with her, Rickon shows up. Also maybe Bran and a living Jon. Maybe.
Whichever boy it is, Sansa cedes power / control, because the boy comes first, she’s just happy to have her family back, etc.
at some point between this and the next step is when Arya arrives home, if she ever does (I lean like 60% yes/no)
If they haven’t already, Bran or Jon shows up with warnings of the wall collapsing and the WW coming
any remaining squabbling about the lordship of WF ceases because ice zombies
