Anemo Boys and what do they fill your head with. The anemo men as your braincells.

Modern AU, established relationship, gender-neutral reader, suggestive mentioned, fluff.

Venti

His living in your head would fill your mind with comfort songs. He makes you hum a melody out of nowhere. There will always be the calm voice to comfort you during stress or such. But, he is the procrastinating brain cell, often telling you "can be finished tomorrow", it will be like that until you get caught up with mountains of work. He is also responsible to create distracting sex ideas or recalling the good night you guys spent together.

However, despite everything, whenever you feel down, just thinking about him will always reminds you that you are loved. Even if Venti isn't there, he is already embedded into your brain to make sure he is loving you always, whereever and whenever you are.

Kazuha

With him living in your head, you will never ran out of self-love. Your mind will be filled with optimism and positive thoughts. The world will seems bright and beautiful, inviting you to explore it. Taking a liking into poet and art, but you will mostly read something and goes "reminds me of him". The mind will be at ease at all times, with the meditation Kazuha always teach you.

He is also the reason you can't stay in one place. Kazuha loves to travels and that trait of his also rubbed off on you. Your feet seems tired if you stay in one place too long, prefers to take a walk outside and soaking in the nature.

Heizou

You will mostly go with intuition or gut feelings, discarding your emotion sometimes. Because Heizou often brings you exploring mysteries, you get a kick out of wandering and discovering new areas. All those explorations also make you prone to napping quickly, which your boyfriend doesn't mind. Since he works under Sara as a detective, he developed kinky stuff; fluffy handcuff, police-criminal role-play, maybe whip? A little bit of punishment won't do harm right? With your content of course. As a brain cell, he is an actual working brain cell working with your intuition.

Working with guts feeling has its downside too. Others may think you dismiss the feelings of other people, like how you preferred to stay behind instead of going on rides because your gut feeling says no; or where you avoid new people that your guts think are bad people. Having pride in your instinct will also makes you a bit stubborn, won't help that Heizou is also a stubborn man, you both may bicker but Heizou is also an emotionally intellectual person, knowing how to meet each other's needs whilst also not dismissing the other's wants. Though, he is really smooth with his words to woo you and can see you like an open book.

Xiao

Oh, you obviously will be more active at night. Xiao often works at night through his laptop in his dark room, slowly you grow accustomed to being in the dimly lit room, accompanying Xiao in the comforting silence. You also take a liking to sleeveless outfits and dark-coloured outfits, plus dark face masks. Xiao made you really comfortable with being alone but not lonely, being by yourself does not mean you have nothing, something solitude is needed.

However, being alone for most of the time made Xiao to be filled with anxiety when meeting people, which indirectly makes you worried about him. But it is kinda cute seeing him stick to you in public places for comfort.

Aether

What a heroic man, isn't he? Helping people who need his power, being a kind-hearted young man, and being selfless...sometimes though. He can stand his ground and wouldn't hesitate to resist and refuse when he wanted to. This sunshine taught you to be independent, travelling around the world where everything is new make you rely on your power and knowledge. Your relationship consists of "self-sufficient" love, so when one of you is needy and clingy is such a rare moment. During this, usually, you both just do self-care with each other, making salad; exercising together; or doing hair care. He takes pride in his long silky golden hair and you love playing with his hair. Taking a bath together can be an hour from playing and washing his hair while having a little chat, bet your fingers are wrinkly from the water.

His golden hair gives the illusion of sunshine, being the one giving its light to shine on people's dark paths. Aether is always happy to help you through your dark times, holding your hands and always assuring you both can get through this together, implying he will always be there for you.

maybe he shouldn't of left you alone even if it was for a minute or two, he should of brought you with him to get lunch instead of taking your order for you.

if you were right beside him, you wouldn't be swarmed with admirers right now.

unfortunately, he can't blame them. your beauty fails to compare to anything he has seen over countless journeys, your charm could never be accurately described, even with his every growing dictionary.

he looks over to your figure in the distance, the swimsuit you were wearing enhancing your allure unreasonably further. your suitor is leaning on their hand that is placed behind you while you keep your hands to yourself.

knowing you, you're probably trying to reject their advances, but because he has witnessed a fair share of pompous people, they insist on getting some sort of recognition. his eyebrow twitching slightly.

anyone would have to be both blind and stupid to not notice you two were together. he clung onto you like a starfish on a rock. he was basically hanging off of you, his height definitely helping with that.

he'll never admit why, though. he definitely did NOT overthink as soon as he saw you in the swimsuit how everyone on the beach would swarm towards you if he left you alone for even a minute.

you'd probably call him overprotective. he'd call it being smart.

just look at you, even he's surprised that you two are dating. you're absolutely stunning. the way that the sun bounces off of your skin (the same skin that goes oh so well with other colours of your suit) drives him near mad.

but maybe his clinginess isn't enough. he can sense all the states directed towards the both of you. most of them being eyes scrunched by the smiles of seeing young love, while the others look only at you. whether out of jealousy, or out of desire he couldn't care enough.

actually, it amuses him to the point where he chuckles to himself.

if you ask him about the mischievous grin on his face (a grin you know too well, unfortunately), he simply brushes it off before smooshing your face and kissing you all over.

scara – enemies to lovers

goddamn raiden scaramouche. he just always had to be right, didn’t he? god, you just wanted to wipe that smug look off his face. he was so damn blunt all the time, but it was more annoying how he was right. he’s short and he’s especially mean when he opens his mouth. what’s there to even like!? one of the things you hate about him was how he found out about one of your most embarrassing secrets and told everyone.

“i hate him! i can’t stand to be in the same room as him.” you complain to your friend, childe. he raises his eyebrows at you, “looks like someone’s got a crush.” you scoff and roll your eyes at him, “c’mon, i hate the guy’s guts!” you furrow your eyebrows. childe looks at you with a smug expression, “uh huh, that’s why you’ve been talking about him for the last 48 hours?” you didn’t even reply. you just stormed off. you hear childe in the distance, “looks like i was right!”

he turns to his phone, “did you hear all of that?”

“....yeah.” scaramouche finds himself dumbfounded. the next day, you find yourself avoiding him entirely. you saw a glimpse of him in the hallway? run to the nearest room. you saw his backpack behind a locker? run the opposite way. you see childe talking to someone shorter than him? it might not be scaramouche, considering childe is incredibly tall, but still, you choose to run away.

after seeing a silhouette that looks exactly like him in the halls, you run into the nearest room– the library. there, you hide behind a couple of bookshelves, trying to catch your breath. you turn to the right to take a peek at the entrance– what if he went inside? you sigh in relief when you see no one there, and you turn back to the bookshelf in front of you. and oh– there’s someone towering over you. the person you’ve been avoiding all this while. he’s got you pinned to the bookshelves, and you look down at the ground feeling your cheeks become hot. his right hand is over your head and his left blocking your way out.

“why are you avoiding me?” he says, not letting his eyes off of you, “it’s– it’s nothing!” you look further away. “the floor must be really interesting.” he grabs your jaw and makes you look at him, eye-to-eye. “tell me, why are you avoiding me?” you feel your body tense and your ears turn bright red. “because…”

“because what?” “i…like you..” you say in a soft voice, so quiet only a mouse couuld hear.

“i can’t hear you.”

“i like you!” it’s quiet. scaramouche isn’t saying anything. he takes his hands off the bookshelf and looks at you. “i thought you hated me.” he says, “i don’t know! i don’t know anymore, i—”

he cuts you off by placing a soft kiss on your lips.

“i… like you too.”

xiao – miscommunication

he was so confused about his feelings for you. he didn’t know what was going on with him. whenever you were around, his face would heat up and he’d become more tense. to others, he’d stay quiet, barely saying a word. but when it comes to you— oh, he doesn’t know what to do. he talks more, so much more. it’s something about you that just makes him lose it.

when he thinks his feelings will only hurt you, he’ll distance himself from you. you’ll stop seeing him around liyue, and you’ll stop hearing his voice, asking you how you’ve been. when you call out his name, he won’t appear. but that feeling you get that someone’s watching your every move, that doesn’t go away at all.

he thinks you hate him now, now that he’s gone out of touch with you. he thinks that as a human, you won’t realize how important it is to live life to the fullest, and that you should not spend your moments with someone like him. an immortal being with so much karmic debt on his shoulders haunting him every single second of the day. but, that all went away with you. you brought so much happiness and joy to his life, and you’ve made him experience so many things he never thought he’d got to feel.

but he was scared. scared of you getting hurt because of him, what if he’s the reason you don’t get to be happy? those thoughts stopped him from getting close to you— to be able to communicate with you.

one day, you catch him stumbling on his feet, walking unbalanced. suddenly, he collapses. you run over to him and let him rest on your lap, he slowly opens his eyes and breathes in deeply. “[name]?” his voice is husky, his eyebrows are furrowed, “am i… imagining things?” he blinks slowly again, “there’s… there’s no way you’d actually do this.” his breaths are heavy and when you put your hand over his forehead, it’s burning hot. “xiao, you’re heating up, what happened? are you okay?” you ignore his words. “i’m.. i’m fine. just stay here with me. it doesn’t matter if you’re my imagination.” xiao looks at you through his lashes, “i missed you, xiao. you have no idea how much i liked you– and how much i still do.”

xiao simply shakes his head. “no..no, i hurt you. you can’t do that, you can’t say–” he coughs, “you can’t say that.” he sniffs his nose, “just get some rest, xiao. let’s talk when you’re okay.” you say softly. “i’m so sorry, [name]. i didn’t want you to get hurt–”

“please get some rest, xiao. you’re not okay.”

heizou – academic rivals

heizou was one of the top students.you always ranked 2nd after him, and it infuriated you. not only that, but he was difficult to talk to, and he always seemed to be one step ahead of you. you always compared your scores with him the minute you got them, but he would always end up scoring one point higher than you.

this semester, you were set on defeating him. you studied all day and night, drank gallons of coffee, and barely slept. you thought about getting a score higher than his, how much you hate his intuition and him always being so spot on.

“wake up, [name]!” venti shakes you awake, “‘m not sleeping! i’m..i’m not sleeping-” you jot up in surprise. ��you should get some sleep,” he sighs. “no, i can’t. i absolutely have to beat him this time around.” you say. “so, i can’t afford some shutter-eye right now.”

little did you know that “him” was just right around the corner, and he heard everything you said. “looks like your rival’s out to get you.” kazuha teased. “they should really get some sleep once in a while…” heizou mutters to himself.

the day of the exams, you were overprepared, you were determined, you were confident you were going to ace this test and finally beat him. you just downed a cup of coffee, and you’re ready to take the exam. a few days afterwards, you get the results for the examination. you run to see a certain maroon-haired fellow.

“heizou!” you run towards him, holding a paper in your hands. “what was your score… hah.. on the- the exam..” you pant and rest your arms on your knees. “woah there, excited much?” he takes your paper, “just- just tell me.” you take a while to catch your breath. he scans your paper, “79/80. wow, you’ve defeated the mighty shikanoin heizou.” he tells you.

“i did?”

“you did. only because i let you.”

“oh my god–” you ignore his words. “i did!” you blink. “i don’t think the entire campus can hear you yet–” you blink again. “[name]!” you collapse into his arms, he’s swift, and caught you in time. “you did great, seriously. just get some sleep now.” he mutters, he’s noticed in the past weeks that you were slouching all the time, and your eyebags got worse. your voice got croaky, and he always caught you drinking coffee, honestly, was there ever a moment when you weren’t holding a coffee?

“my my, the prince charming gets his happy ending alas.” kazuha walks from behind. "by the way, congrats on getting perfect scores."

“thanks.”

venti – friends to lovers

to be honest, you’ve gotten confused whether or not hanging out with him were just plain friendship stuff– or dates. knowing his secret, that he’s actually barbatos, the anemo archon, he uses his powers freely around you, making it easier to access beautiful city views. he invited you to watch the stars with him on the anemo god’s statue in the center of mondstadt, late at night. he uses his powers and holds your hand as you fly up to the statue’s hands, and there you lay down with him.

up there, the wind tickles your cheek, and venti is weirdly silent. it’s not like him at all to be quiet. so, you ask him, “what’s wrong?” he turns to you and says, “do you think they’ll like me back?” your heart drops. you tell yourself, you should be happy for your friend, finding his own happiness. but why not with you? “i mean, of course. what’s there not to like about you?” venti laughs. “there’s… so much i need to tell you.”

“well you didn’t even tell me about your special someone” you turn away, throwing up in the air the apples you got for venti. “hey– i couldn’t!” he becomes defensive, “it’s just… they’re amazing. all my years roaming teyvat, i’ve never met anyone so… just so amazing.” he smiles, “see? i can’t even put my feelings into words— and i’m a poet!” he pulls his knees to his chest, “i don’t know what to do…”

“you should choose me instead.” you think out loud, venti looks at you in shock. “wh-what? what’d you say?” his pupils diate and his ears become hot. “don’t make me say it again, it’s embarrassing.”

“no, no! not at all, [name], i’d gladly choose you. you’re the one i like” he gets up and holds both of your hands.

“so… does this mean we’re–”

“yep.”

kazuha – mutual pining

the crux has been through a lot, and god do they drink. it’s interesting to see kazuha not in his calm composure, instead slurring his words and his sentences full of hiccups. tonight, he drank a lot. the rest of the crew were passed out somewhere or simply sleeping. you were worried of leaving kazuha alone in this state– only archons know what’d happen to him.

“mmm–” he coos as he tilts his head at you. he giggles as he grabs a small photograph kept in his front pocket, he scooches over to you and shows you the picture. it’s a picture of you smiling. you ask him, “what’s this?”and he smiles, “the person i love oh so dearly…” he holds the picture as if it was fragile, like the slightest movement would ruin it. “don’t tell anyone, but..” he whispers into your ear, “i’m gonna marry them one day…” he giggles. he shoves the picture into your face, “look, *hic* aren’t they so cute?” you laugh, “you’re adorable, kazuha.” he looks at you, as if he’s offended. “well– *hic* i appreciate the compliment, but… you’re not [name], i’d like it if you didn’t say that, especially if they’re around.” he pouts. “y’know, i have someone i like too.” you smile at him, “really?” he entertains your sudden statement.

“yeah, he’s the nicest person i know. it’s like i can’t live without him.” the heavy weight you feel now being lifted off your chest. “you must really like him.” kazuha says, “what’s his name?” “his name’s kazuha. does that sound familiar?” you take your shot, it’s most likely he won't be able to remember this when he wakes up anyway, so why not? “it does– oh.” he’s taken aback, in fact slightly sober now. he rubs his eyes multiple times and blinks profusely.

Xiao, Kazuha, and Venti are roommates in the University Dorm house, Scaramouche lives with his aunt that lives near the univ, Aether with his sister, and Heizou alone.

Although, most of the time, they have a sleepover at the dorms because Heizou argues that “You guys will be the reason if we’re late for that 7 am class if you don’t let us sleep here.”

No, he just wanna spend time with his friends.

Xiao excelsin mathematics, Kazuha and Venti in literature and music, Aether’s an average in everything, Scaramouche doesn’t care but pass subjects anyways, and Heizou is good at everything.

Heizou and Aether makes sure that everyone in the circle is studying and listening while Kazuha is in charge of checking if everyone’s eating right. Xiao always gets an earful because the man lives in instants.

Scaramouche and Xiao are the reason no one dares to touch and taunt their group, but Scaramouche will falter at the gaze of her aunt, and Xiao is the most reserved in their circle.

Venti sings. He sings a low, gentle tone when everyone feels exhausted after a long day at the university, he hums softly when he feels like one of his friends are having an anxiety attack, but can’t talk about it (He always know, he’s the most observant) and he sings his heart out to cheer anyone.

Aether and Kazuha are the middleman. Scara’s being an asshole to one of their classmates? Kazuha will be shooting him a glare from across the room. Venti being the chaos himself? Aether will come and calm down the oh-so energetic lad.

And oh, they all know about Xiao’s little crush on you, with—again, as the calmest— Kazuha and Aether giving the best advice. Aether sometimesasking hissistertobring you to one of their friend dates so his friend can spend some time with you out of the campus.

Scaramouche will be throwing disgusting looks teasingly at Xiao when he notices that the latter is lovestruck, earning a glare with the same energy.

Venti, contrary to popular belief, is the most helpful. This is because he’s also your friend. He tells Xiao one dinner at the dormwhat or what not to do when it comes to you, with the said man giving him a “I don’t need that. I don’t like her” of which Kazuha sighed into.

“What was that for? I really don’t!” can be heard throughout the room.

And it was Scaramouche who had made him realized that he did like you.

“Well if you don’t like her, then I guess you wouldn’t mind if I pursue her?”

Cue the pissed off Xiao halfheartedly admitting he is head over heels for you.

Since their group is always the hot topic at school— please, they’re all good looking, academically good (somehow), kind of rich, etc., you’re genuinely surprised when one of them falls for you. And Venti will laugh it off because you are, if not better, as good as his friends.

They didn’t help Xiao in the confession part, though. They want their friend to do it himself because it will only be worth it by then.

But the pride and joy they’ve felt when he did? It’s comparable to yours.

“WE RAISED THAT BABY”

When you started dating, you find yourself always almost hanging around their friend group.

Scaramouche still throwing disgusted looks at the sight of you and Xiao, with your boyfriend returning a sharp stare.

Your kind of worried but Kazuha tells you that it’s affection and love between the two of them, earning a fit of chuckle from Heizhou who kind of became one of your best friend aside from Venti in the group. Dragging you here and there to play games.

No one can touch you under their watch. Much like Lumine, Aether’s sister. They’re so protective of you and Xiao is thankful for that.

And if they didn’t flinch at Heizhou and Venti’s sarcastic remarks, or Scaramouche’s glares, then they will surely run home crying when Xiao enters the picture.

Kazuha and Aether in the sidelines making sure no one will go to jail.

"Just go and talk with them" Venti said as he slurped his strawberry milk. Kazuha nodded his head, agreeing with Venti.

Heizou looked at Xiao, noticing his red cheeks. "C'mon Xiao, Y/N gets along well with everyone. It won't be long before the two of you become friends." Heizou said after laughing slightly.

"Yeah, Y/N is a chill person." Scaramouche said after Heizou, making Aether and Venti look at him in a questioning face.

"Did you talk to them before?" Xiao asked, a little too excited. All of the group turned their heads at Scara who was texting someone while eating a chocolate.

"Yeah, I talked with them when they seperated a fight between Childe and that Diluc guy from class 2-B" Scara said before looking at Xiao.

Venti let out a sigh "Yeah, Diluc was complaining to Y/N for it" Aether rolled his eyes "smh, I feel bad for Y/N"

Kazuha thinked for a while then turned to Xiao. "Why don't you go and ask them if you could walk them home?" Xiao's eyes widened as he looked at Kazuha while going red.

"Take it easy Kazuha, take it easy.." Heizou said while trying not to laugh at his now tomato-faced friend.

As Xiao was about to respond, your voice made him drop the fork down to the ground. The group looked at you, who bend down and picked up the fork Xiao dropped before putting it on the table.

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you. I was just going to ask if you wanted to help me with the art class since we have the same teacher." You smiled at Xiao while talking to him, making him blush.

Venti looked at you and smirked "But Jean is also in your art class Y/N-senpai. Why didn't you ask her?" he asked. Making Heizou raise his brow at you while smirking as well.

You chuckled while leaning on Xiao's chair with your hand. "I don't have a specific reason but I would say Xiao is a pretty one. Not everyday you find a gorgerous person, right?"

Xiao looked at you with widened eyes, while you looked down and winked at him. Venti and Aether let out an 'ooh~~' while looking at you guys.

Someone called you from the end of the cafeteria, you turned to Xiao and say "Wait for me in the gate afterschool, I'll walk you home today." you said and disappeared in the crowd.

Xiao was in awe, Scara laughed at his red face while Heizou joining him. Venti and Kazuha patted Xiao on the back as a 'you go man'

Xiao was waiting like you asked him to, looking around and trying to find you in the crowd. His amber eyes landed on you as you walked along with Kaeya and Itto, Kaeya spotted Xiao and elbowed you. Making you and Itto spot Xiao too, Itto pushed you with a proud face while you laughed.

You walked towards Xiao and stooped in front of him he looked up at you (you're one year older so stfu🙄)

"I-Is there a place y-you want to go or–" Xiao tried to ask but he stopped when he felt your hand on his, he was taken aback when you kissed the back of his hand. "I wanted to buy you ice cream, if you want it too." You started walk after talking, pulling Xiao with you.

"S-sure.." he was a blushing mess. He wasn't going to wash his hand after going home, your touch makes him lose his mind slowly.

"I'll have vanilla and peach.." Xiao said. The man looked at you both and smiled "You guys look like a cute couple, want me to make a discount?" the man told you.

Xiao blushed at the fact the man thought you guys were lovers, you laughed slightly before talking. "There is no need for discount, but we'll be happy if you give my boyfriend from those heart shaped white chocolates." You said while pointing at the chocolates.

Xiao' s legs felt like they could give up at any moment. His hand still holding yours, the other one holding his ice cream.

"Can i take a bite??" You asked, Xiao looked at you and blushed. He stopped walking and holded his icecream towards you, you smiled and ACTUALLY took a bite of his ice cream.

He looked at you with a questioning look "Did you actually bite it?" xiao asked and looked at the spot where you bit.

"It's sweet, like you~" you said while laughing at his blushing face. "Shut up.. You already embarrassed me enough today..." he whined and laid his head on your chest, relaxing into you.

You played with his hair, you were in the middle of the park bit who cares. Your little Xiao decided to rest a little, you can stay with him clinging onto you for a while.
