Gothamites Never Really Rest

Small warning in this: very light swearing, light mentions of deaths, and tw light touching on the subject of abuse, like very light. But still an fyi.

Danny was used to his main Rogues (Boxy, Ember, Skulker, etc etc, you know those guys) showing up randomly and at odd hours, causing some chaos around town due to their own boredom or just wanting some fun (the more deadly ones were rare to show up and his main Rogues do at least respect him enough to give him the rest of the day off when they sense a ‘big bad’ fight), he fights them, wins, before he send them back to the portal. Then they rinse and repeat this for the next day.

So as he really wasn’t expecting, especially since he had just sent his ghostly quota for the day back to the portal a few hours ago (Boxy of course, and Youngblood (dressed as a Firefighter this time, though the ending for their fight actually ended on a good note. YB had been asking Danny about space, Danny kinda hoped YB will be an Astronaut next time cause that would be fun)), Johnny 13 (and Shadow) to phase into his room as he was heading to bed.

Honestly (he groaned when he realized who it was, dealing with Johnny, Kitty (and Shadow) during a ‘break up’ or ‘lovers spat’ always was a pain) he was expecting Johnny to just start attacking but before Danny could demanded to know what he was doing in his room Johnny hesitatingly asked if they could talk.

Now Danny, talking to his main Rogues, like legit talking was a very rare thing. But it has happened a few times.

With Johnny asking if they could talk, his face nervous but not in a 'I pissed off Kitty and idk where she ran off to again', Danny nodded and agreed.

"Hey, so like I know we all kinda agreed not to go roaming too far from Amity because of the whole government suits guys and bringing unwanted attention to us ghosts in the names of the Super Dorks but is it alright if Kitty and I head across the state for a few days? I promise we'll be back and stay under the radar..."

"What?! Why would you guys need to something like that?!"

"Johnny, look dude I know Amity can get boring sometimes but-"

With a melancholy smile and a hand petting a chirping Shadow who sprung up to comfort his other half, Johnny then said "Kitty's been avoiding returning to Gotham for ages since we woke up in the Realms and whenever we found a natural portal back to it. She's always been terrified of running into him and even being a ghost she's still can't. But he's gone now, we felt his life end and he isn't a ghost either! Like legit, if he became a ghost we'd still be able to sense our murderer you know!... Anyways she wants to visits her old haunts and maybe see if we can find some old friends, see how they're doing you know. We won't mess with them or anything, just a small pop in..."

"We... We also kinda wanna find the guy who did it too... We could feel his emotions when he ended Kitty's old man and firstly let me tell you, rage. Like a lot of it. But also we felt his need for justice and... he felt familiar... like someone we knew and he knew us. That's how we know it's a revenge kill. Someone did that for us and well.... Kitty and I wanna thank him you know."

Meanwhile in Gotham about three week prior.

A budding Crime Lord had crossed out the face of a older man from a photograph pinned onto a corkboard, below and connected by red strings was two other papers as well. One held the newspaper clipping of two bodies being found in a ditch with the remains of a busted up motorcycle, a young male and female were reportedly found halfway buried in it. The male was reported to be a trouble maker from Crime Alley, knowen for stealing tires while the female was the daughter of a suspected mob boss.

The other string however, lead to a small, yellowed from age and tiny bit damaged photo of three people. The photo held two older, nearly out of their teens, male and female both looking like rough city street kids. A motorcycle could be seen behind them an it was missing a wheel. The young man with blonde hair was kneeling on the ground, his hands holding onto a tire iron and he looked rather proud, the young female was wearing red and had some dye in her hair and was smiling as she held the camera taking the picture in a selfie as best as she could.

In between the two was a young kid, blue eyes and black hair, a beaming smile on his face as his own hands were on top of a tire wheel. A wheel he had finally learned how to take off in record speed thanks to Johnny teaching him.

Green eyes that shifted for a second to teal stared at the photo for a moment before saying

"Hope you both are resting easily now. Kitty, Johnny."

i saw fanart for this age old unfinished fic and was so interested by the premise that i simply HAD to give the concept my own spin.... Ill put my notes under the cut cus it got kinda long lol

-FIRST OF ALL. i headcanon lu ten as a powerful firebender (like, lightning bending powerful. not an expert at it yet, but can generate it at will. only recently picked it up before the siege.) that can Also use a weapon. he picked it up for funsies and ended up taking it seriously and then excelling. he learned under piandao and in turn later introduced him to zuko. His weapon that he made with piandao was a more traditional jogekama yari, which he had on him when he was captured. long feng destroyed it and had a new jogekama yari made for lu ten in a more sleek earth kingdom style, with longer and more savage blades. **ALSO: lu tens jogekama yari is based on saras yari from samurai champloo!!!! i just made the side blades curved in opposite directions (which made it a jogekama instead of saras type of yari) -lu ten does not interact with the other agents. whether brainwashed or amnesic in this, hes not even one of the secret police that go around arresting people. hes a lone agent that works Directly under long feng and is more of an assassin and spy thats permitted in and out of ba sing se for the missions and jobs long feng sends him on, unlike the rest of the agents. as a gift for his (made up) birthday, long feng gave him a hand carved stone earring. Yes, its a tracker. yes, lu ten knows that. No, he doesn't care and wears it anyway. his boss can do what he wants, and he trusts his boss with his life (lol). the other dai li agents know of lu tens existence, less have seen him with their own eyes, none are permitted to speak to him if they do. they dont know hes a "nonbender". -i havent decided on whether or not i want lu ten brainwashed in this or simply amnesic?? it would be neat if he was the brainwash soft launch since the ba sing se conspiracy brainwashing only started After the siege. lu ten is a firebender, has that fn royalty brand iron willpower, so youd think thats hard to brainwash especially if he was the soft launch, but if long feng kept up the sessions regularly over the course of 6-ish years (and as their brainwashing techniques improved), id doubt it would rub off. its a seven layer salad of brainwashing. and even if he was amnesic rather than brainwashed, theyd still need to do some adjustments in lu tens head to TOTALLY wipe out any idea of firebending, on top of regular chi blocking. -as for the amnesic part, i read a theory that introduced the idea that lu ten being killed was an inside job orchestrated by ozai. which i dont think would be canon, but it would be pretty cool?? like especially considering how FAST he jumped on azulon about heirs. very suspicious indeed. and all too convenient: have a group of moles set in irohs army, once lu ten moves out away from iroh then corner him, kill him, make it look like the earth army did it, sneak back to the fire nation, ozai gets the crown. easy as pie. -and to combine one of MY OWN aus with the above, aka the one where zhao and lu ten were both taught together under jeong jeong, the first time that zhao REALLY made a big move into ozais pocket was offering to be the head mole in irohs army. it made perfect sense to ozai, and he gladly sent zhao on his way- him being close rivals with him will catch him off guard and make the job far easier. and if zhao succeeds, and KEEPS succeeding, when ozai undoubtedly snatches the crown, he will grant zhao all the rewards and titles he could ever want until the cows come home. snazzy deal.

so whichever one of those you guys find cooler will be the one i go with because frankly both of them have the same amount of fun angst and drama idk......................

-as for lu tens face and arm, i base that off how i think lu ten died, not even gna lie. in the case where he is dead i think half his skull got crushed open and his arm was blown right off from the bicep. the stitches are just for aesthetic purposes. i was inspired by how scars are drawn in one piece, and because they give a "frankensteins monster" type look, which i found fitting, since this is a 'came back wrong' trope/winter soldier-esque au. the bandages covering his face was a suggestion from an anxious long feng to hide his face in public, while the ba sing se conspiracy was still fresh and the citizens might recognize the spawn of the dragon of the west if they looked long enough.

-as for lu ten and long fengs relationship, i havent thought about it enough, but im definitely imagining smthn along the lines of "you were always working for me, i picked you up and trained you when you had nothing, you owe me your life and loyalty", mixed with some gentle stockholm syndrome. like, a combination of "the king and his most loyal guard dog", a very strange psuedo father-son relationship??? (which was honestly accidental on long fengs part. but he kept it up because he found the irony amusing. yes he will try and rub that in irohs face. yes iroh will beat his skull in for it. its chill)

I grew up real sheltered and closed away from the world, there's a lot that I never got the chance to experience or be taught that I've had to make up for. I'll ask ya, What weren't you allowed to do due to your socialization/upbringing? for me the answers are: Tackle football, watching star wars, playing with "boy toys" from fast food meals, walking around shirtless, wearing "simple" clothes, stuff like that.

Dont be afraid to derive gender euphoria from shit thats uselessly gendered. I still use Old Spice deoderant because it was Boy Deoderant and i really liked the way it smelled when i was 17 lol. Buy "mens" body wash, use "mens" razors, stuff like that! (In america all these things are less than 10$ so im very sorry if thats bad advice for you)

My answer for experiencing boyhood is: Let yourself be free in all the ways you wish you could have at that age. Collect monster trucks, build lego sets, watch wrestling or mma or boxing or [insert overwhelmingly male-dominated physical sport here], engage with hobbies that are male-dominated and feel good about talking to other men online who participate too.

nezuko is unfortunately still a demon in this au. the tamayo situation is… simply put, a bit more complicated than in canon. but also you are right, they haven't really had many confrontations with any of the upper moons yet, so research on a cure for demons is slow going

tanjirou is the only person within the demon slayer corps affiliated with tamayo and yushirou and so he's the only one getting twelve kidzuki blood and that means he's mostly getting blood from the ever rotating roster of lower moons. and even then, he doesn't encounter them that often

so nezuko has been a demon for very nearly a decade at this point! and it was pretty bad already when it was just a couple years as a demon, but now she's stuck at the age of twelve while her brother is twenty-one. and she's dealing with that by avoiding him

Regarding your last ask, when did sauron seem so hopeless? Was it somewhere in the text? Wasn't he at the height of his hubris just doing whatever the hell he wanted in middle earth, enjoying his success and just having a good time.

Oh I'm not describing a specific aspect of the text, I was more extrapolating from what the text says that he must have an amount of despair for his end goal. He certainly is not enjoying any success either. 'Success' is extremely relative, Sauron might have been entirely full of his own hubris, but that internally would have made his actual accomplishments appear extremely meager. Like yes, he is definitely causing untold misery and death continent wide, but that is not his actual goal. His goal is total control and domination, which he never succeeds in doing to any of the 'faithful' peoples, only to those in the south and east who in the majority have been worshipping Morgoth and then Sauron for most of time whilst being entirely abandoned by the Valar. In fact! Sometimes he does not even have control over them! Sauron has to historically suffer a great deal of ego-brutalising moments in order to further his causes, debasing himself in front of Pharazon, being laughed at by orcs (that is a canonical thing that happens, actually the quote is so funny you gotta see it; […] The Eastern Orcs, who had not experienced the power and terror of the Eldar, or the valor of the Edain, were not subservient to Sauron - while he was obliged for the cozening of Western Men and Elves to wear as fair form and countenance as he could, they despised him and laughed at him, lmao) when he tries to re-dominate them during the early second age, and in the end none of those things actually work! He gets defeated by Numenor, he gets destroyed with an island and loses his form, he gets defeated by a new country only 100 years old and loses his OTHER form, he has to become a nasty little forest necromancer for a while just to cope, neither dragons nor balrogs will work with him unless he gets to beg them first and they get killed before he can do that. Any victories he achieves, destroying Arnor for example, are then immediately tempered by defeat (battle of Fornost). And then also according to texts, Sauron is tormented by his own longing for the ring as well! He is not a creature that gets to relax, nor can he really.

I think I should also say that like.. the kind of evil Sauron is into is supposed to feel terrible canonically. He might outwardly show a haughty demeanor, but Sauron is constantly aggrieved by what he lacks, in a similar way to Morgoth being perpetually terrified and discontented. And this is textual, the discontent and rampant obsession is why they rebelled in the first place, neither of them are beings that are happy to rest when they havent even achieved what they wanted too. And as I said before, that achievement is impossible. Sauron and Morgoth did not have the bliss of not knowing about fate and the rule of Eru etc, he's their dad. They had the hubris to believe that they could defeat fate itself, but they also had to be somewhat aware that that was at least an unimaginably monumental task. So no! I'm afraid, even if he was at the height of his hubris, that is not a pleasant place to be and he was not able to do anything he wanted really. He was consumed 24/7 by his schemes or what he was owed or his losses or indeed his lack of the ring and I dont think he felt a single moment of peace from the moment he left Valinor till now.

some thoughts on chapter 1.2 from the ongoing translation for yuri and flynn's novels. putting under cut and also not rebloggable. i just have SO many thoughts on it but definitely dont read them until you read the translations. but also to any friends who havent finished vesperia definitely dont check out the novels yet. o7

i won't start dissecting everything that goes on in the chapter, but what is always impressive for me is how even at a young age yuri shows to be very agile and shows promise of being a good fighter in the future. even flynn takes note, much to the other boys' obliviousness.

but its after the end of their fight that really struck my attention. i've looked at the manga version of it many times, so i know that flynn actually tries to make up a lie to keep his mother from worrying about him, saying yuri and co were there to play but were now leaving. what i never realized (which could be a me problem) is that flynn shifts his demeanor entirely in his mother's presence. he is described as scowling and staring all the time up to that moment, but suddenly, he forces on a smile.

when flynn says what he does to norein, he gives a look at yuri indicating that he wants him and the others gone now. in a way, he did a favor for them by not telling his mother about what had transpired.

why this particular revelation makes me react so much so as to ramble about it is that you actually see the seeds of flynn's core personality here. i mean, saying that is pretty obvious, everyone's personalities develop from a young age and all, but i used to operate on the assumption that flynn was actively angry/upset all the time while young, but only learns how to mask his true feelings and avoid stating too much of what he truly thinks as he gets older. the novel and translation officially shattered my assumption by saying "no, flynn started doing this as soon as he realized he could".

granted, his act is far from perfect. he loses himself to his emotions when yuri says the line that ticks him off, and to someone like his mother, and a child as observant as yuri, his smile wasn't able to feign genuine good feelings. flynn doesnt even hesitate to scowl and glare at the other boys. it's mostly that his scope of pretend only reaches as far as "don't worry mother, she already struggles enough". as he gets older, this scope unfortunately widens both due to his occupation as a knight, and what appears to be him not wanting to worry others to make a big deal of it. him being overly emotional would affect his effectiveness as a knight, right?

"Are you going to the party on Saturday?" Lia asks, plopping down on your bed, pulling out her phone in the process. party? in finals week?  

"I thought you said you didn't go to parties anymore because of Wooyoung and its finals week... I'm not failing this semester" you protested. 

"Firstly," she began whilst walking towards her wardrobe "I do like going to parties... I just don't like Wooyoungs friends constantly going on, saying, "I bet you've had a taste of Wooyoungs weiner" especially that San guy, mother fucker." she cursed. " And if you're that stressed about finals, I'll help you study when I recover from the amazing hangover, I'm about to bring on myself... is it a deal?"  

"Deal" you said, also making your way to the wardrobe to pick something to wear. 

"Is this too much? I mean I know it's just a house party but like... a dress? it's a nice dress Li but I don't think it matches the uh... vibe"  

This was just an excuse... you didn't want to go to this party, for all you cared you would much rather be at home binge watching the latest shows you've been watching or rewatching your favorite films. 

"You're lying to yourself Y/n, we've been to a fuck tone of parties this year, and you've worn something like this every time." She grumbled. 

"It's different this time." 

"How? because Yunho isn't eating you out at the end of the night?"  

"Lia! Don't be stupid, I'm just tired and in need of some..." 

"Dick," she cut you off " you need a one-night stand, you're too set on Yunho" 

"Maybe that's a good thing."  

Desperate times call for desperate measures. And if being in love with your ex is still desperate, you're willing to go that far. 

"Or maybe we can try and get you out your shell? There are other guys out there who'll let you finish on their face"  

"What if I only want to finish on his face" you stated. 

"Then you have some weird shit going on in your head y/n, you two broke up 2 months ago, probably more than that," she said while giving you a look that could kill you if you said anything else " and besides... maybe wooyoung has a hot single friend you could mess about with. Please just listen to me for once and have some fun?" 

So now you're at a college frat party watching people pour alcohol on themselves for fun. Great. And even better the person who always lightens your mood... Wooyoung. Approaching you and your best friend at full speed. Fucking hell. If your evening could get any worse just let it happen now. 

"Heya ladies" he said whilst wrapping an arm around Lia's waist. What even are they at this point? Fuck buddies? For all you know, whenever he shows up, Lia ends up disappearing and that's your queue to go and sit in the toilet for the rest of the night.  

"Hi, woo," she replied leaning into his chest. Great. "wanna go grab a drink?" Fuck you.  

"Yeah sure," fuck the both of you. "You coming y/n?"  

"I'm good I might go and talk to Jungwon I think he's over there," you smiled and kissed your teeth.  

So, saying this night has gone bad is an overstatement. Besides, you still needed to do the wordle of today. My god. Is this what lifes become? 

"Okay so if it's not an a ther-" you muttered to yourself before someone knocked on the door. 

"You okay in there?" Yunho? "I was just gonna check on you, y/n, make sure you werent blowing up the toilet or something."  

Opening the door, you looked up at him. And now on top of your ex being a few centimeters away from your face, your heart was also racing faster than it has in a long time. By the flush on his cheeks, you could tell he was drunk. This probably explains why he was now walking towards you leaving you with the only option of stumbling back into the bathroom.  

“Are you drunk?” you asked as he placed his hands on your waist. “Actually, I don't want to know,” removing his hands you sat down on the toilet.  

“y/n don't be like this”  

“Be like what!?” You're now standing, “Did our relationship mean nothing to you? Did I mean nothing to you? I’m not like Lia, okay? I don’t fuck about with people because I don’t mind not having commitment and closure. It’s your fault this Wack relationship ended. Then you just forget about me for a few months and act like you give a shit when you wanna get laid” You borderline screamed. Rule number one: never be afraid to raise your voice at a man with an over inflated ego, especially not an ex-boyfriend. 

“Did you really think I was gonna fall back into your arms Yunho? You broke my fucking heart!” 

“y/n I jus-”  

“Get out, don't speak to me till you'll be sober enough to remember this conversation in the morning.”

So it was dramatic and you’re stupid. Yunho finally gave you a chance and you fucked up. Actually no. He fucked up. Relationships are a waste of time. 

More knocking.  

“Fuck off Yunho.”  

This time instead of your wide-eyed ex storming in, a tall guy in a white tank top peeps his head round the door.  

“Oh, I'm sorry,” you said wiping tears from your face.  

You’d be stupid to say this guy wasn’t slightly your type. He looks like a Frank Ocean song to put it nicely.  

“I didn’t mean to interrupt, sorry, but could I use the bathroom?”  

“Oh, sure go ahead.” you replied stepping out of the toilet. 

After this guy had finished... his business he came out and smiled at you.  

“Not one for parties then?”  

“How could you guess.” Maybe it was your low standards or the fact you’ve spent the last 2 hours crying and playing candy crush, but you haven't smiled this hard all week. 

“There’s just a vibe about you, it’s the “I don't wanna be here my friend dragged me along don't speak to me” look” 

“Your right about the “my friend dragged me along part,” maybe add on “she left me to go hook up with some guy” and you’d be spot on” You hinted.  

“Well, we’d be in the same boat then. “My friend left me to hook up with a girl he won’t commit to” sound familiar?”  

“Very.” You smiled 

“San, my names San... By the way.” 

“As in Wooyoungs friend?” 

“Ever met another San?”  

“Not that I can remember.” you answered.  

“Your name?”  

“Y/n, Lia’s friend.” You implied. 

“Woah as in... wooyoungs like... whatever they are.” 

So, this is San? All of Lia's comments about him being a mother fucker weren't as true as you thought. He seemed like a gentleman. He hadn’t tried to make a move on you, or any other stupid shit like most guys at these shitty things. 

He seemed nice enough to at least hang about with till Lia got so drunk she would black out.

look... theres *gojo girlies* uwu and then theres GOJO GIRLIES... i couldn't give 2 shits about how he's fan-serviced (tho im not complaining) but have you SEEN the amount of grief pumped into that man? he could explode in a fit of fucking insanity at literally any moment and take the whole goddamn world down with him bc what happened with suguru WASNT FAIR to him and satoru has more than enough power to go apeshit... but he DOESN'T... even after losing so many of his co-sorcerers... he still puts on a brave face to the end in order to protect the childhood of his students even tho his own youth was stolen from him during hidden inventory...

i read the manga during my last year of uni and when i tell you i SOBBED at the end... yes ofc for obvious reasons, but mostly bc my little Levi loses EVERYTHING. He is the SOLE survivor of the veteran scouts. He's missing multiple fingers, an eye, and the ability to walk. He was the strongest (yowaimo) but wasn't even granted the mercy to die at the end of his narrative! Broke my fucking heart.

Characters are tommy, qauckity, and you!

Tommy was walking through the smp one day, checking out everything, abandoned or not he went through it.

Houses, memoirs, etc. He raided some places for loot while others he went to simply because they looked scary or had a pleasing view.

Then he came across sapnap, Karl's, and quackity's old house that they all had together.

He also remembers them adopting a kid and moving them into this house too, though he didn't know the whereabouts of said kid now.

She would be what? his age? maybe a year younger? still this didn't stop him from walking in and searching the place for whatever the family of 4 left behind.

going from room to room, searching chests, drawers, and cabinets, finding somethings that could be useful to him like swords and food he then found a staircase to the second floor.

Going up the stairs Tommy sees two doors, one is cracked open and the other is closed. He goes through the open one first, it looks like the trios old bedroom and since there's nothing interesting he leaves and heads to the other door and jokingly knocks on it, not expecting an answer from the other side.

"hello?" it sounds like a girl, like Y/n!

"hello?! Y/N? what are you doing in there?" he asks concerned for her, no one has seen her in ages!

"oh, hi Tommy, im just...waiting" she says in a sort of monotone voice, like she's tired

"waiting for what exactly?" Tommy asks, he's curious to know why she's still here

"for one of my dads to unlock the door, they have the key! they locked my door every night when i fell asleep to make sure no one would get me, but one day I woke up and it never got unlocked.." she responded with sadness in her voice, Tommy tries opening the door to find its locked.

determined to get his friend out he says "how long have you've been waiting??"he asks, kinda worried for her wellbeing

"i.. don't know" she says sadly

tommy responds with "Ill go find them, I promise I'll get you out Y/N!"

in response the girl on the other side says "Really?! thank you Tommy!!!" he smiles "be right back!"

Tommy runs out of the old house and goes to find one of the men who used to live here, which one would be easier to reason with? to find? that's when he realized, Quackity is kinda of the family type, he'd be easier to find and deal with! so Tommy starts his journey to Las Nevadas.

Once he gets there the first thing he does is shout quackitys name until he walks out

"tommy what do you want, I don't have time for this!" Annoyance laced quackitys voice as he talked

"do you still have the key to Y/N's room?? she's locked in there currently! I heard her through the door" tommy's words shocked quackity

"of course, we all had keys to her room" he says firmly

"lets go get her out" was all quackity had to say as they ventured back to his old home, a place he never thought he'd go back to.

Once there Quackity knocked on Y/N's door "Sweetie? are you in there??" he sounds worried

"Papa!! hi! it's been awhile, can you please let me out?" she sounds happy, but there's a mixture of sadness, this confused Tommy a bit

"of course dear" Quackity unlocks the door and opens it only to find it empty. Him and tommy step in and find nothing as they look through it they find a body but not just any body Y/N's body, it looked decayed and old as if it had been there for years, which it most likely have. All Tommy could do is stare as Quackity fell to his knees over his child's corpse

"those two never unlocked her door when I left...they...they left her...I thought.....I thought they had her...I" Quackity couldn't handle how guilty he felt, he left and thought they would take care of her, clearly he was wrong.

Tommy knelt down beside him and comforted him as his own tears fell to the floor.

She was waiting for them

She had hope

and even after death she waited for them

for someone to unlock the door and free her

Tommy just wishes he had found her sooner

Random Metalocalypse headcanons

Nathan: I think hes bisexual (but hides it), is deeply emotional, likes and is kind to children but doesnt want any of his own (hopes someone else will have kids he can dote on), the only instrument he plays is piano (but not super well), is straight up the only one here who is actually A Goth, is deeply deeply insecure, has accidentally become a 'can only solve problems with threats' type due to that being how he dealt with bullying. Also he has ALWAYS had vaguelly prophetic dreams since childhood, but cant tell them apart from regular ones and cant always tell if they are good or bad, so he only sometimes does what they say

Skwisgaar: i made a long post about this previously but he has complete dylexia and due to his intense anxiety and his moms general belittling of mistakes he actually is WAY worse at english than it seems like he is and he sort of just muddles through and pretends. His english is much worse when hes thinking about it, which the others noticed, which is why they rarely correct anything he says because hell go silent for 3 days. Also hes bisexual (openly before being in Dethklok) and yes he IS some kind of god child but he probably WASNT appointed for the soul purpose of making babies Toki: not stupid! not 'mind of a child'. Just immature. I headcanon that he was not of-age when he joined Dethklok and someone in Dethklok (i havent decided who is funniest yet) had to legally adopt him to keep him in the country and they kinda forgot. He only hit 21 in season 1 and while he HAD been drinking before that he really started going overboard after it got easier. Also, skwisgaar taught him english (hence same pluralization quirk) but hes now much better at it. Despite his comments about 'superior scandinavian education' he didnt actually go to school and didnt learn to read or write until he was older, but hes very good with computer codes and math. ALSO his parents arent his real parents, he was thought to be a demon child born to a member of the flock with no husband and was adopted to be 'fixed' but ended up just goign towards demonic things since he thinks hes a demon. Is it true? idk. Murderface: Gay but also in-universe many many many many people are attracted to him. Hot people. Movie stars. gay men especially. Refuses to admit hes gay because it feels like 'giving in' to a thing that everyones always said about him. He grew up in Tomahawk with pickles but doesnt have the accent because he took after his grandparents. PIckles mom refuses to admit she knows murderface. ALSO that 'murderface expert' guy is making up at least half of that. he does bath he just has like skin problems and is too impatient to deal with them and too anxious about being made fun of to go to the doctor about minor issues like athletes foot. Hes in a secret highly emotional online relationship with a guy hes only seen in person once because of insecurity reasons

Pickles: trans or cis depending on my mood at the moment ;p Bisexual and knows it but doesnt knwo the word for it. A lot of health problems hes been diagnosed with but he always forgets about. Wears contacts (or just chooses to be blind some days). He is NOT Mollys son, actually, hes Calverts from a mistress which is why his mom hates him so much (also why his dad said he belonged in a 'garbage can', hes referencing that he wishes pickles mom had an abortion). yes of COURSE hes in love with nathan, he just like assumes its not possible and 99% of the time is okay with that. Ofdenson: for some reason i had a misunderstanding for many years that he had ALWAYS been part of the church of the black klok and so even now that i know its not true, i still prefer it. To me, this is why he is so fucking negligent-- in some way the klokateers and audiences must be a blood sacrifice for the apocalypse (or potentially to stave it off? unclear). Additionally he is largely responsible for the entire 'look' of the enterprise. I simply dont believe that half the shit in mordland were ever seen by dethklok or could even possibly have been conceived of by them, let alone asked for. My headcanon is he is the one that started the entire 'branding of the gears' thing and is responsible for the brainwashing (this i think has canon support at least)

Calling this UPG bc I havent even looked to see if there's any literature about this out there at all and this is purely my own ponderings but like...

Hestia was the first to be swallowed by Kronos and the last regurgitated, which means she's the one who spent the longest amount of time inside him. So might it stand to reason she absorbed, however mildly, some of his abilities? At the very least she probably has a different relationship with him, with time itself, than some of her siblings.

It's something I've been kinda pondering because it fits with some of my own experiences, and makes sense in context to my own life. And isn't seeing something of ourselves in the gods something humans have always done?

Recently, my brother has been learning about and coming to terms with who my father is and it's kinds weird for me because I went on that journey years ago.

Hestia is the oldest sister in that she was born first and has lived the longest. She also spent the longest inside her father, dealing with that experience. She is the youngest in that she has spent the least time in the world itself (in this sense Zeus is the oldest, since he actually got a childhood out in the world, and thus all his siblings are younger than him and have to learn from him in that sense). Each sibling that joined her inside their father would have basically been raised by Hestia until they were regurgitated. She was a mother despite bearing no children of her own.

So Hestia is familiar with convoluted family dynamics, to say the least. And that brings me comfort personally as I'm trying to navigate this weirdness of supporting my brother on his journey of growing up and figuring out his relationship with our father that I went on ages ago.

Anyway, back to the time thing, which is why I started this post in the first place.

In ancient times, family celebrations (like birth and marriages) took place in front of or directly involved the hearth. Hestia is involved in how we mark the passing of our lives, in how time changes us.

Also, time seems to pass differently when you're at home vs away from home, with family/friends vs with strangers.

Hestia had to make a home inside the titan of time, and raise her siblings. She understands what it means to be constrained by time, to live inside time, in ways her fellow immortals probably don't understand.

Hestia, in my experience, is a very patient and understanding goddess. Time can feel a little funky in her domain, moving "faster" or "slower" in our perception, and maybe there's reasons for all of that.

I think I had more to say, but I've been having a slightly chaotic day and working on this post on and off, so I think I'll leave it at that for now. But yeah, these have just been some of my ponderings over the past couple weeks, and I'd be interested to hear what thoughts any fellow Hestia devotees/worshippers may have!!!
