Pencil Sketch

My life as a portraitist begins now,

As we’ve ended and parted ways.

I begin to sketch your face upon,

A torn ‘n’ old big canvas.

I nostalgically began to sketch you,

Just as you looked on the last date,

We met for the last time,

‘Cause that’s the least I could do.

The pearl earrings that complimented,

Your cute ears as you brushed your hair behind,

Your warm smile that made me,

Fall for you all over again.

Why am too scrupulous when it comes to you?

I still remember being dumb enough,

Not recognizing that you were wearing,

The earrings that I bought for you.

I regret I’m only left with memories

And not with you by my side.

But I’ll still keep sketching,

Until I remember your face.

Time

Time flies,

Oh does it fly...

It flies so fast that you barely feel it

But you'll never forget it

You'll never forget the laughs,

You'll never forget your fears

You'll never forget the rough parts,

You'll never forget the tears

That smile is the last thing you see,

Their voice is the last thing you hear,

Their hug is that last thing you feel,

Their memory is the last thing you'll remember.

You're not supposed to cry

You're not supposed to mourn

You were not supposed to die,

I was not supposed to be left alone

You never said goodbye,

For you said you'd see me soon

I really believed you that time,

But it will be a while before I do.

I can't promise I'll be strong,

But I can't stop time while it flies

I can promise though to be happy,

Whilst I let time pass me by.

Water fills my nose

While I struggle not to breathe in.

I am suffocating.

My lungs grasp for air

While I am smothered by a pillow.

My veins struggle to clot

I cannot fathom the beauty of pieces,

those broken pieces and how they come together so picture perfect

and then you realise you lost a piece,

and you search so hard for it and you can’t find it

they say it’s okay to lose it,

it happens all the time

but not unless it has value (they continue)

they blame you

and they blame you

but it wasn’t till they stop blaming you

and till you stop caring about what they say,

you realised they were sitting on it,

hiding it,

keeping it away from you,

but why?

reason being..

they can’t accept the fact it could be so perfect just by adding a piece,

but no one accepts perfection...

it’s just a theory we say we aren’t good enough for,

and we limit ourselves,

and sometimes we don’t go the extra mile

to look for this piece,

sometimes it’s just in our hands,

and we just over look it,

that’s okay,

we have time,

not clocks and seconds,

but time as in, a lifetime.
