NINJAGO STARSTRUCK AU - SPINJITZU AT 25:00 OPENING
This is the opening of the Ninjago x Project Sekai Nightcord swap.
Hey guys, I worked hard to make sure I kept most of the character's traits present, while coinciding with N25's main story. It would mean a lot if you stopped by to read a bit!!
Harumi Yoisaki
"This isn't right. Maybe if I…? Yes, that works."
My name is Harumi Yoisaki. I am a digital composer.
I would be a second year student of high school, but I do not go to school. I live by myself and complete online courses. My parents used to work in music.
I work in a group. We meet every night on our night chat, Spinjitzu. Ever since my parents were hospitalized I promised to keep doing what they did.
I don't live in a very roomy apartment. I barely pay the rent. Sometimes I will forget to eat.
But, I continue. Because I must compose.
I visit my parents sometimes. They don't wake up. They never will.
Because they are dead. And it's my fault.
So I continue. And the cycle will go on.I must compose.
Even though sometimes it's hard, I continue. Because this is my place. I will save someone.
I just need to keep composing. And soon…I will be able to save someone from the same fate as my parents.
They went out to drive…
"No. I will not think about it. I will keep going. I must save someone…
"My screen lit up.
"Hey Rue, I finished arranging that part for you. Do you want the demo?"
It was from L. He arranges my music and adds lyrics.
"Yes please," I wrote back. He sent the file, and I pressed play.
A harsh, but sweet melody flooded the room. The composition flowed smoothly with the arrangements L did.
"Thank you, L. It sounds good," I typed.
"I'm glad. I think I'm going to log off," he typed back.
So early? That's weird…"Get some sleep! You must be tired, but it sounds good though," typed Nyad.
"Yeah, I heard you had class tomorrow, so rest well," added PIX.
Nyad works with our other member, PIX. Nyad does the art while PIX does the editing.
We post songs and music videos on our shared account, S25. Usually I get slightly more of the cut we make due to my living situation, but I still make sure to give them the amount they deserve too.
We've never met each other face to face, but I find joy in working with the three of them.
Even with that, I'm not doing this for fun.
I must compose.
Lloyd Asahina
I logged off the computer.
I am Lloyd Asahina, a second year high school student.
I glanced at the sheet of music on my desk, then the workbook that’s shoved to the floor.
Guess I should do that then, huh?
I slowly and miserably picked up the book from the ground, then placed it on my desk.
But I couldn't open it.
I didn't want to open it.
But I had to, didn't I?
I had to.
I ended up finishing the notes and assignments I was supposed to take next week.
Hopefully that will be enough…
My mother called from the hallway. "Lloyd? Are you still awake?"
"Yeah. Just finishing some things for next week," I said.
She softly opened the door. "Good. I don't want you being all caught up with those people online again. You know what happened last time. You're so talented and gifted, and I want the best for you… okay?"
It's hard to fight with her. I gave up a long time ago. Now I only hide.
"Yes, mom," I replied.
My mother is Dr. Misako Asahina. She is one of the most famous and world renowned doctors in the world. She has no interest in music, and expects me to take a similar career to her.
But I don't know what I want to do. I don't know who I am.
What do I want to be…?
But I continue to do whatever she says. I don't know why. I just can't defy her, no matter how hard I want to.
I'm supposed to be the best for everyone around me. Why stop now…?
I haven't known myself for a long time now. It's nothing new to feel like this.I can't help it. I still hate it.
But if that's the case, why can't I leave it…?Deep down, I knew the truth.I could not escape.
I have been forever alone.
I hate it.
I hate myself.
I have lost who I am.
Nya Shinonome
For forever, I have wanted to become an artist.
I have many names.
Nya Shinonome, for one.
But I can also be Kai’s sister, a little girl, the loner, etc.
I am all of them.
Yet I am none of what I want to be.
I do not go to school during the day.
I have never been able to choose my own path.
When I try, I am constantly told I’m not good enough.
I should give up.
I should stop trying.
I am not talented.
I am not valued.
But I persevere.
My destiny should be what I make. Not what anyone else says. I will be good enough. I can be good enough.
But am I really?
Yes, I always tell myself.
As I tell myself this again, I get a text message from PIX in the chat.
“Hey Nyad, can I see the storyboard you were working on for the next song?”
I quickly sent her the progress I’d made so far. “Here.”
“Thanks! You’re so talented, I’d never be like you,” she responded.
That made me feel a bit better.
Sometimes it does get hard.
Sometimes I feel like I can’t do anything right.
Sometimes I feel completely and utterly useless.
Sometimes I just feel like I want to disappear.
It’s the worst feeling in the world.
But I need to prove everyone who doubted me wrong. It doesn’t matter who tells me I can’t do it.
My parents, my teachers, my brother, none of them.
I will pursue my dream.
Even if it means I’ll have to fight all the doubts clouding my head.
Pixal Akiyama
I sighed.
Everyone else had logged off already.
What do I do now..?
I looked at my bag and remembered the schoolwork due next week.
"I really don't want to do that right now…"
I tried to ignore it and started working on the new music video. My name is Pixal Akiyama. I am a first year high school student.
I use my friend Nyad's art in edits for Rue and L's songs. Lately my inspiration has been lacking. I'm not sure why.
School life isn't much better either. It's been a while since I've talked to Sora… I noticed an influx in people calling me names and avoiding me too. I'm always excluded and made fun of.
I don't know why.
I miss my dad…
My dad is Cyrus Akiyama, a clothing designer with a very different approach to styles. He moved away to work for his company a few months ago.
I haven't had many people to talk to recently.
I miss talking.
It's been so long…
I miss having people to confide in. To run to. To trust.
No one accepts me. And no one will.
I am alone. Forever and ever.

Pairing: Steve Harrington x Original Female Character

Aria walked downstairs seeing her mom sitting down in the living room. It was currently four in the afternoon and Aria arrived home about an hour ago.
After the events last year, the hospital her mother worked at was completely destroyed, causing her to find a new job. Yasmin managed to pick up a new job as a traveling physician assistant at a different hospital, which made up for the time Aria was away.
Yasmin told Aria that she had taken the entire week off to spend time with her and Aria was so grateful for that.
The doorbell rang at that very moment and Aria looked at her mom, Yasmin in return just smiling at her. Aria shrugged and walked over to the door, opening it. Her eyes widened in surprise and her lips turned into a huge grin once she saw who it was.
“Nancy!” Aria squealed, hugging her best friend after so long. Nancy laughed, wrapping her arms around the girl. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
“I wanted to surprise you.” The girl smiled, happy to see her best friend again. “We have a lot of catching up to do. Those phone calls weren’t enough, in my opinion.”
“Stay safe!” Yasmin yelled from inside without Aria even telling her she was going to leave. She knew her so well.
The two girls climbed into Nancy’s car, the younger girl backing out of the Kaul’s driveway and driving off to a small restaurant in Hawkins.
The girls had arrived at a local diner, talking and eating their food. It was nice to finally actually have a heartfelt conversation with Nancy after being away for so long. She really filled in the best friend role after Jonathan and Steve.
Steve.
Aria had thought about Steve one too many times over the past couple of months. She could never seem to stop. Every time she tried to move on, she couldn’t. It was always him.
She didn’t know if Steve had moved on from her, though. None of her friends told her anything about him, which she was grateful for. She wouldn’t blame him for moving on to someone new. They weren’t together anymore. But it didn’t hurt any less.
“The kids joined the Hellfire Club.” Nancy told her.
“So I’ve heard.” Aria smirked, eating her food. “I never understood the game, honestly.”
Nancy chuckled. “Me either. The club’s run by Eddie Munson.”
Aria furrowed her eyebrows. “Eddie Munson? He was literally in my senior year. He’s still in school?”
Nancy shrugged. “Apparently. The kids love him though. Did they not tell you that?”
Aria shook her head. “All I knew was that they joined the Hellfire Club. Nothing else.” She took a sip of her water before speaking again. “I’m excited to go to Lucas’ game tomorrow.”
Nancy nodded her head. “Let’s hope we win.”
The two girls enjoyed their time together before it was finally time to leave, as Nancy had school the next day. The younger girl dropped Aria off at her house, hugging her goodbye.
Aria went upstairs and got ready for bed, sleep creeping up on her. She said goodnight to her mother and went to sleep, sleep overtaking her quickly.
The next morning, Aria slept in. She was glad she didn’t have to deal with school early in the morning so she took her time, waking up when she decided that she had gotten enough sleep.
After Aria had eaten the breakfast her mom made, she heard the phone ring. She walked over to the phone, picking it up. “Hello?”
“Hey, Aria!” Dustin’s voice spoke through the phone. “I have a question.”
“Yeah, what is it?”
“Do you think you could possibly fill in a spot for Hellfire? We need an extra player tonight.” Dustin asked her, hoping she’d say yes.
Aria raised an eyebrow before sighing. “Dustin…Lucas’ game is tonight. I’m sorry, I can’t.” Aria didn’t understand why Dustin would rather go play a Dungeons and Dragons game than support his own friend. “Why don’t you come to Lucas’ game tonight instead?”
She heard Dustin huff before sighing. “I’ll talk to you later.” He hung up, leaving Aria in confusion. She didn’t expect him to act like this. It was a little disappointing that he wouldn’t go to his own best friend’s game but hopefully he would change his mind later today.

Law and order svu fanfiction
Video killed the pedophile part 7
Fin: pov Liv finally goes back to sleep all throughout the night a nurse is waking her up. In the morning the nurse takes off her oxygen mask. Joe and Muncy arrive early before work to visit Liv and give her some flowers. Amanda and I talk about her keeping Noah until Liv is released. A nurse tells me  McGrath  is here so I go into the hallway for a few minutes. McGrath tells me he does not trust Amanda to run the squad room so he is taking over and I need to get back to work instead of sitting with the Captain all day. I tell him I'm her emergency contact/medical proxy so I can't leave, because if something happens to her I have to sign the forms and with her being a past trauma victim I have to give consent for certain things. We manage to work out a deal.
Liv: pov a nurse is bringing me and Fin breakfast.
Fin: pov our former Captain Donald Cragen is stopping by for an hour or 2 which is enough time for me to stop at the precinct and pick up some files, chief McGrath was kind of nasty to me this morning. Telling me I had to work while Liv is in the hospital.
Don: pov I can't believe Liv is in the hospital because of something Elliot did, he had to have known this would happen.
Liv: pov my head is pounding but it is nice to see dad. He says he saw Elliot recently, he wanted to know about his father. Dad says I understand Elliot did some stupid stuff that hurt you but you also have to remember he still cares about you and is trying to fixes the mistakes he made. It was nice to hear Dad talk about his life. Fin arrives back at the hospital with a box full of files and says McGrath is making me look at all of these cases.
Fin: pov Liv finally falls asleep 2 hours later she wakes up,  a nurse comes in and checks her monitors and gives her some nausea meds, Liv is being given a form of tylenol regularly to help with her headache. She is also very dizzy and the room is spinning. Lunch for the both of us is more soup. I'm thankful it stays in her. It's now after lunch and Munch has arrived. I decided to take this time and talk with her Dr.
Liv: pov Munch asks me  if me and Detective Stabler are sleeping together yet I say no we are still trying to figure out how to be friends after so long. Amanda had dropped off my phone in the morning, I texted Elliot,  Munch wants to know if we are sleeping together. He replies with Lol.
Fin: pov me and her Dr are talking he says I see no reason why she can't go home tomorrow does she have someone to stay with her. I mention that me and Brian are going to take turns caring for her. My boss is not that nice or considerate when it comes to giving me time off.  The neurologist hands me a bunch of papers with important info on them about her care once she is released. After Munch leaves I get back to the files until dinner, with the help of a nurse Liv has been able to go to the bathroom by herself.  Dinner was a light meal. I'm so happy Liv is finally getting some good sleep. Amanda stops after work with Noah to visit Liv. I tell him your mom is going home tomorrow, but you will stay with Amanda until she is a little bit better. The rest of the night was uneventful.
Liv: pov in the morning I'm getting released Fin is making sure I'm ready once in the car the drive to my apartment is not long Fin gets me settled on the sofa when his phone starts ringing its McGrath bothering him saying SVU has a case. I can tell Fin is mad. McGrath wants him to show up at the scene and he tells McGrath I have no one to watch Liv. She can't be left alone and Brian is still at work. McGrath says he doesn't care, just find someone.
Fin: pov I call Brian frantically asking if he can get off of work early to watch Liv. I know today's not your day but McGrath just called me in and someone has to watch Liv. Brian says he can be there in 2 hours. I have no choice but to call Elliot. I ask him if he is busy. He says no just doing paperwork, why are you asking?  I mentioned McGrath called me into work SVU got a case and someone has to be with Liv and the earliest Brian can get off work is in 2 hours. I text Brian the update in our plan.
Elliot: pov Fin asked me if I could watch Liv for 2 hours until Brian arrives. I said sure no problem, happy to help out. At Liv's apartment Fin is rushing around to get ready and make sure Liv is taken care of. He tells me the papers on the fridge have all the important info on them. In an emergency call me or Brian his number is on the fridge. Brian calls Liv's phone and asks me if I can stay an extra 30 minutes so he can stop at the store and pick some stuff up for Liv. I ask Liv if she is hungry. She says no, I convince her to eat some bread anyway. While I'm in the kitchen getting some water I hear Liv get up out of bed. Which Fin said to help her with and head to the bathroom. That is when I hear her throwing up. I rush into the bathroom to hold her hair up, but she says don't touch me just leave me alone Elliot I'm fine. But the floor needs to be cleaned. I did not make it in time.
Liv: pov Elliot is cleaning the floor while I'm in the bathroom. I feel too gross to move and everything is spinning.   To be continued.  ……..

Start Working
Everyday doing the same thing and times keep moving so fast that I can remember almost every routine that keep cycling the same way. Waking up in the morning with struggle to make sure that I will not wake up out of the time that I have set; I have set to wake up early but this things cannot be repeated for the next day due to level of motivation keep going down day by day. Almost everyday that I wake up earlier with less motivation causes me to snooze the alarm a little bit, like for 10 minutes. But then I realize, I have delayed the wash and prayer, and then I go to kitchen, need to eat something for breakfast with expectation that I can minimize the hunger for the next hour when I have arrived to workplace. For the next part, working as usual and feeling anxiety out of nowhere without any reason at any time. Just waiting to go home. Pretending to be busy at work is a necessary thing to do to make sure that everyone at the workplace realizes that I'm really doing my job.
So, tomorrow, I'm going to start a whole new job scope at a new workplace under the same company. It is just that my location of work has been changed and they give me only one month probation to try to adjust myself with the new culture and environment. Hopefully I can bring myself forward and work with a positive mind. The only thing that keeps me stressed out because the road to go there is so rural and narrow. I drive a sedan car, I hope I can drive safely without troubling other people. It's not even a rural area but with a narrow development of town. And then, I'm so worried about what I shall eat at lunch because I'm so afraid to go out by myself with the narrow and busy road. I hope I can cope with the anxiety and fear. I just don't want to trouble myself or other people.
I only have a one month chance. To be honest, the company does not want to confirm me, change the agreement after three months without allowing me to be confirmed and put me on contract afterward. After a year, they still do not want to confirm my probation and their excuses are including my performance and attendance despite that I have tried my best to put the best effort of mine to make sure I really can achieve the target. It all started when I first started my work last year and I'm so new to it. Suddenly, my mom got hospitalized for a whole week during the covid's era due to cyst cancer. I volunteered myself to take immediate emergency leave for a whole week just to take care of my mom at the hospital and I could not even be allowed to get out of the hospital once I entered the ward because they needed me to do a swab test if I wanted to go in and out. After a week, my mom passed away and after that moment, I've taken several leave but not consecutively. From that moment, management does not feel my performance would bring any promising future so they don't want to confirm me and put me on contract for a year. Even my manager got resigned immediately by the company without any black and white and they just use key performances as an excuse despite that my manager is doing his job and does not even take many days off like me. I don't know.
So, with the chance of only one month of probation, I have taken this chance to change and develop my career with the expectation that it may bring blessing and success. If I keep working at the warehouse, I only have one month left and after that, management will automatically stop my contract. So, they offer me a vacancy at HQ and ask me to come tomorrow and try my best for this month. If it is okay, they will pursue my contract and will end my contract if my performance does not meet their expectation. So, pray for myself that I can make a change and develop my career to a better achievement. AMIN.

~♡ TATE LANGDON:
Tumblr media
before the pandemic, you and your family have moved into the murder house.
the house gave your family a very odd vibe, but nonetheless all of you had to bear with it because it was sold for a cheap price.
but when the pandemic arrived the country, you were stuck at home 24/7. thus, classes were online.
you met tate because of your father. tate was one of his patients and the both of you grew close.
"Y/N, what are you doing?"
tate would randomly barge in your room while having a class and you would jump out of shock.
"Jesus, Tate. Stop scaring me like that!"
tate would giggle and lay on your bed, observing the lesson that the teacher rambled about.
while you're writing notes, he would stand up and take a chair from some part of your room and sit beside you.
knowing that tate is clingy, you would warn him not to bug you and behave while you listened in class.
of course, he doesn't listen and he would place his head on your shoulder and eventually would cuddle you.
"Taaate, please let me focus."
luckily, you always keep your camera off.
"Mmm, no. I enjoy bugging you."
~♡ KIT WALKER:
Tumblr media
one time, you were driving to school on your own and you were almost running out of gas.
luckily, you saw a gas station nearby and decided to get a fill before heading to school. and there, you met kit.
when you first laid your eyes on kit, you thought that he was the prettiest man ever. you couldn't let this chance slip, thus, you exchanged numbers with him.
you talked all day and night, the both of you were so inlove with each other and you finally decided to introduce him to your parents.
your parents loved him and you were so, so happy.
but when the pandemic came, it affected your relationship with kit.
since all schools and unis were closed down, everything went online.
when kit stayed over, he couldn't spend a lot of time with you because you had to attend classes early in the morning, till afternoon.
"Can you stay in bed with me for a little bit, darling?"
unfortunately, you woke up late that day and you missed 10 minutes of your first class. and just like that, you were stuck to your desk until afternoon.
"Kit baby, I'm sorry. I'm late for my first class. Maybe later, okay?"
as much as kit hated this whole online class thing, he would always find a way to cheer you up.
thus, he would cook you breakfast and bring it over to your room.
"C'mere, I'll feed you while you listen and write down notes."
~♡ KYLE SPENCER (PRE DEATH AND POST DEATH) :
Tumblr media
PRE DEATH:
madison, your friend, had bugged you all week to go with her to this college frat party near your house.
you weren't the party type. you loved staying at home, watching netflix or reading some sort of fan fiction on wattpad.
but you hated being single. so, this was your chance to actually get a boyfriend.
when you arrived at the party, you immediately hated it. everything was so loud and everyone was drinking, it was definitely a new sight for you.
you were sitting on a couch that was in the balcony, with a red cup that was filled with punch. you loved being away from the commotion.
this is where you met kyle, it was love at first sight. the both of you had so much in common and you thought that he was the man of your dreams.
you exchanged snapchats and from there, you were partners-in-crime.
you and kyle had stopped going to parties ever since the pandemic arrived, which means you got to see each other less.
since the both of you were students, both of your classes went online.
one time, kyle had no classes for a day and he decided to surprise you.
that day, you were having an online presentation. both your camera and microphone were on.
"Rene Descartes was the Father of Modern Philosophy—"
as you were presenting the slide show, you were cut off by kyle's presence infront of your desk.
"I brought you food, baby!"
you would shush him and suddenly turn off your mic.
"I'm so sorry, Miss. My boyfriend arrived and I—"
kyle would go beside you and kiss you on your cheek, your classmates and teacher cooing over it.
"Miss, you better give my girlfriend a good grade."
Tumblr media
POST DEATH:
*pretend that he survived the bus accident and had a coma, because we arent involving witchcraft here*
kyle and his fraternity were on a bus that was going to some college event at school.
on the way there, you guys snapped each other and his friends would talk to you as well.
unfortunately, they got in an accident and the bus was flipped over.
a few students, including kyle, survived the accident.
when you heard this news, you cried your heart out and you didnt talk to anyone in your family.
you and your family visited the hospital and you rushed to kyle's room, it broke your heart to see tubes in him, with machines that beeped like there was no tomorrow.
when the doctor said that kyle was in a coma, your heart sank in the deepest part of your body.
this made you stay 24/7 with him until he was discharged.
when he was discharged from the hospital, he was not his usual self. the bubbly, energetic kyle was gone. instead, he was so confused with everything.
kyle's mom made him stay with you until he got his memory back, and you were more than glad to help.
but this took a toll on your studies because your classes were online due to a pandemic.
everyday in class, you would let kyle sit beside you and let him observe what you were doing.
"We're in Science class, Kyle. You were really good in Science, you helped me alot with my homeworks."
most of the time, you would help kyle develop his speech and his writing. but it was difficult for you.
"S-Sci... S-Sci-en.. ce?"
"Yes, Kyle! Good job, now one more time."
~♡ JIMMY DARLING:
Tumblr media
ever since you were a kid, you loved going to carnivals, your parents would always bring you there every weekend.
there were carnivals almost everywhere, and your family brought you to all of them.
to you, each carnival was unique. the clowns and magicians in each carnival had different tricks up their sleeve.
but as you grew up, these carnivals slowly went out of business. except for one, which was elsa's cabinet of curiosities.
you decided to visit it one day just for a trip down memory lane, you never really had expectations for this place.
when you arrived there, there were a few people that were seated.
the show started and it instantly made you smile, they reminded you of your younger days. oh how you wished to be a child again.
you watched through a few acts, and the last act was a man named jimmy darling
when he came on stage, you locked eyes with him. there was something about him that really struck you.
after the performance ended, jimmy ran over to you and got your number. from there, you always talked and you would visit him regularly.
the regular visits stopped when the pandemic struck the country, forcing entertainment establishments, schools and unis to close down.
for the mean time, all your classes went online. you told jimmy that he could stay with you until things went back to normal.
on an early tuesday morning, you were in english class. jimmy was with your parents preparing breakfast, and you were falling asleep while your teacher discussed about the odyssey.
unlike tate, jimmy would always knock on your door. as his mom always taught, never enter anyone's room without knocking.
jimmy would giggle at your sleeping sight, your head lowered and your hair messed up.
"Hey, sweetheart, wake up! You're in class."
jimmy's timing was perfect. as he woke you up, you were called by the teacher.
"Miss Y/N, Do you think Odysseus was loyal to his wife?"
obviously, you panicked. but jimmy was there to save you. since jimmy was fond of reading, he finished the book and he whispered the answer to you before you could turn on your mic.
"No, Ma'am. Odysseus had an affair with Calypso and Circe."
once you got your teacher's approval, you turned off your microphone and let out a sigh of relief.
"You're lucky that I'm here to help you."
jimmy would joke and you would jump up to him, tackling him into a hug.
"I'm always lucky to have you, baby."
~♡ DANDY MOTT
Tumblr media
at a young age, you were exposed to different types of fabrics. denim, silk, corduroy, neoprene. they name it, you've probably seen it.
your mother worked as a fashion designer. she managed to open a shop in the city and it was a great success for you and your family.
your mother has styled famous models. because of this, the shop was promoted and broadcasted all over the country. one day when you came from school, you saw a long line outside the shop.
that day, the staff count was low. there were only 5 employees instead of 10. you didn't exactly know why, so you decided to help.
after what felt like several hours, the long line finally dissolved into 2 customers, which was a mother and her son. they looked through the shop and the mother instantly loved everything.
her son, on the other hand, was trying on this lilac tux that your mother made.
you assisted her son and when you locked eyes, the both of you smiled. you entertained him throughout his shopping spree and the both of you never broke eye contact.
this was how you met dandy. he made the first move by getting your number, and of course you gave it back.
from there, the both of you talked day and night, even when you were in school.
since dandy's mother, gloria, loved your mother's shop so much, she would invite you and your mother regularly to her mansion.
gloria and your mother got along very well, and it was like gloria was your second mother.
so when your mother went to paris for a fashion show, she let you stay in gloria's mansion until she came back.
but to your dismay, your mother was not able to come back due to a pandemic that was all over the world. flights, establishments, and schools closed down.
of course you were sad, but you didn't worry so much because gloria treated you like her real daughter.
classes were online and you were forced to attend them everyday in the shared room you had with dandy.
since you had to get ready for class early in the morning, you would quietly get out of bed because dandy was sometimes a light sleeper.
it was around 8am and you were in math class. in your school, cameras were required to be turned on at all times. you thought this was a shit rule, but you had no choice to comply.
you were drawing some circles with a compass for an example that was being discussed by your teacher, when all of a sudden dandy was beside you.
"Dandy, sweetie, what are you doing up so early? Go back to sleep.."
dandy would pout at the lack of attention that you were giving him. since he loved holding your hand, you let him hold your other hand that you didn't use for writing.
"You're doing Math instead of cuddling with me!"

i'm actually super proud of this omg !! i hope yall enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it 🥺❤

AITA for not picking up my s/o up from the ER?
I am a (34) f and my s/o (30) m have been together for years and got into a fight last night.. Earlier last month I got covid to which 5 days later got a double ear infection and then a week later got bronchitis to which I was severely sick and am still recovering from. During this time I tried to work remotely with my job and ended up having to take 4 days off to rest. I am now back at work by this time I found out I was pregnant with our first (my 3rd from a previous relationship). For the last year our oldest who is trans has tried to harm themselves to which I have gotten him help which I've had to take time off work and even had been late at times due to him having rough mornings. My work has been supportive and is a 4:45a-1p shift. During my lunchbreak I take the kids to school. This last week I almost got written up (was given a warning) due to our oldest not being ready in time and I was late for a patient and am a AODA counselor. I told my family I couldn't do this to my anymore and had to be careful. This last week, my best friend I haven't seen in 5 years and lives out of the country has been staying with us. I've been cooking, cleaning, doing errands, all while having the worst morning sickness I've ever had. I am puking 5-6 hrs a day. This last Thursday my family cooked, but left me a huge pile of dishes to do for "the next day" since our rule is whoever doesn't cook has to do dishes, which my best friend did to give me a break. My pregnancy has also caused me severe fatigue, and I still have bronchitis. My best friend has been amazing and stepping in to take care of me while I have been like this. Last night was the first night we would be able to be alone without kids or my S/O in the house. Well he called stating he was passing a kidney stone, puked, almost lost consciousness and couldn't drive. He was 45 minutes away, me and my best friend got in the car and I drove to him, left his car which I will pick up tomorrow and drove him back to our hometown (since he wanted to be at that hospital). All while being nauseous and sometimes throwing up in my mouth, but needing to get him to the hospital I didn't stop. We drop him off at the hospital, my friend ordered me and paid for some light stomach food since I didn't eat all day my diet has been crackers, raw veggies, and water to which right after when I was in the store next to the restaurant to buy juice for some ginger so I don't keep puking he calls stating "The walk-in won't accept me please take me to the ER". We go to pick him up, pick up the food that is done, and the juice which was on the way and took 5 minutes and take him to the ER. I tell my s/o since the entire night is gone and the ER can take hours. I can pay for a cab, but won't be able to get him since I have to wake up early for my work, have supervision right away in the morning, and am already on thin ice. The hospital is 5-10 minutes away. He didn't even respond, slammed the car door, and went into the ER. I called him, he did not answer. At that point I was upset and messaged him telling him I was upset. When I got home, I ate and went to bed which my best friend understood and was supportive. Well, my s/o got out 2 hours later. Messaged me about how he was upset that he wasn't the main priority and how I left him there. He got a ride from his parents and told me at 2:00a in the morning when I woke up to take our new puppy to the bathroom that he was still pissed at me and his mom thought it was messed up that I left him there. I snapped, I'm now sleeping on our spare mattress, and don't want to talk to him since when I snapped he told me "I was petty" and that he would never abandon me at a hospital. So my question is... Am I the asshole?

HELP WANTED (PART 1)
WOLF QUIRK F!READER x HANTA SERO x EIJIRO KIRISHIMA WORD COUNT: 1,724 TW/CW: BULLYING MENTION, PARENTAL ABANDONMENT, PANIC ATTACK MENTION (ONCE)
NOTES: I’ll make a banner for this series whenever I get my shit together on Photoshop, lol. I’ve been on a Sero/Kiri thing lately plus this was brewing in my head so I wanted to hurry and type it all down before I forgot it.
Tumblr media
“ HELP WANTED! 3RD AND FINAL ROOMMATE FOR A 3 BEDROOM, 2 BATH HOUSE. — MUST BE RESPONSIBLE AND RELIABLE. TEXT THE NUMBER FOR ANY QUESTIONS. NAME IS KIRI. ”
You had been staring at this ad for a couple of days now. Surely they must have found someone by now, right? You were new around the area and being on your own, wasn’t quite what you had imagined. Your parents? Well, your mom up and decided to leave you behind after bringing you home from the hospital and your dad.. He’s always been there but you wanted to prove you could finally be on your own. You were 24 for God’s sake, of course you could do it, but sometimes— you found yourself wondering if you bit off more than you could chew. Living in this big city full of crazy quirks of all kind, including yours, it was pretty overwhelming.
Oh, your quirk? Well, you were part wolf and people could tell that from looking at you, due to your pointed black ears that rested on either side of the top of your head plus a tail that was pretty fluffy and was also black in color.. Can’t forget the fangs that you have, too. Your howl could deafen someone for a brief amount of time, distracting them. You also had the agility which mean you could run— fast.
Growing up wasn’t easy at all. You were often teased about your appearance. Kids would pull your tail, thinking it didn’t hurt you when in reality, it did. You spent majority of your childhood wondering why you had to have such an awful quirk, blaming your father since he was also part wolf. However, as you got older, you became more mature and focused more on yourself. Of course, you apologized to your father, which brought the two of your closer, allowing you to confess the reasoning behind why your child days were so… dark and why you lashed out in such ways.
Your father was a strong man, taking on a few jobs at a time to support you and his self while also keeping the bills paid on time. You admired him for that but you didn’t want to depend on him anymore which led you to where you are right this second— staring at this damned ad, wondering when you’re going to build up some type of courage to text the number. “Oh, for all that is holy, just do it.” You grew tired of being scared so you brought out your phone and texted the number.
TO KIRI: Hey… I was texting about your ad about needing a third roommate and wanted to inquire about it, if you haven’t found anyone yet.
You thought about it again.. What if it was a scam? Oh, you literally brought your palm to your forehead, tapping it a times then halted when your phone buzzed. You looked at the screen, eyes widening in surprise because it was the number from the ad. You had your phone set to where you wouldn’t be able to see previews of your messages unless you unlocked it fully. You braced yourself for a ‘Sorry, we’ve found someone’ or something along those lines. You wouldn’t be surprised since it did take you forever to even act on this whole thing. You swiped left on the message, unlocked your phone, squeezing your eyes shut then took a deep breath. Your right eye slowly opened, eyesight adjusting to the brightness of your screen then falling amongst the words of this Kiri’s response. Your other eye shot open in shock, both your ears perking up.
FROM KIRI: Awesome! We haven’t really had any luck with anyone reliable.. so since that’s the case.. would you mind if me and the other roommate meet you for, say.. coffee? How’s tomorrow morning sound around 8:30-ish?
Thinking to yourself, were you reliable? Of course, you were. Responsible? Absolutely. You worked at a local animal shelter, coincidentally. You worked more with dogs than cats, though, which came with the territory. Dogs obviously gravitated more to you given your natural wolf scent that only they detected with their sense of smell. Recently, you were moved into a management position so you were paid pretty well, which struck up this whole idea to be on your own, per se. Before you could think any further, did you work tomorrow? No, perfect. You rolled over onto your stomach on your bed, tail moving from side-to-side.
TO KIRI: Of course! That sounds great. There’s a coffee shop a few blocks from where I currently stay.. called Camille’s Cafe, not sure if you have heard of it or would prefer something else?
Were you coming off pushy? Demanding? At this point, you didn’t know and you were so nervous that it was driving you crazy but before you could go into panic mode— you got a text back, agreeing on the meeting place and everything. That was… easy.. almost too easy.. Either way, you were thankful they wanted to meet in a public setting in case they really were scammers. That’s when the thought had hit you.. What if they were guys? Kiri didn’t necessarily sound like a guy’s name.. did it? You laughed at your overthinking. No way these were guys.
With that, you looked at the clock on your bedroom wall, it reading 9:30 PM. You decided to go ahead and settle into bed to get enough rest so you didn’t look like a walking zombie when you met your potential roommates for coffee. You plugged in your phone to the charger and laid down, laying awake for an extra hour or so before drifting to sleep.
Tumblr media
After a long day of getting phone call after phone call, text after text from different people saying they were interested in their ad, Eijiro and Hanta were close to giving up. Everyone who showed interest had some type of flaw about them, whether it be a bad history of paying rent on time or being an awful roommate in the past. It was becoming annoying, to say the very least. After denying everyone who reached out, Eijiro thought it was best to just block all the numbers to prevent further contact.
“Bro, I’m beginning to lose hope. We probably won’t ever find someone else to move in with us.” Hanta sat down on the couch in the living room with a sigh, kicking his feet up on the table in front of him. “Might as well talk to Kats about ditching that condo he’s in to move in over here with us.” They had thought about that a few times but even the slight mention of a roommate the first time, their friend, Katsuki, was the first to say not to even consider him because he valued his privacy. They didn’t press further because they understood and knew how he was.
Eijiro sat on the other end of the couch, directly across from Hanta, leaning forward to prop his elbows on his knees and his head on his hands. “You know exactly how that’ll go, Sero. I say the next person that texts us, we invite to coffee and really figure shit out. It’s been days since we posted that ad, and you know that we need the help we can get.” Hanta nodded in agreement then both their eyes shot down to Eijiro’s phone that lit up with a unsaved number, inquiring about the roommate situation. Hanta moved over to the same side as where Eijiro was to sit down once the red head picked up his phone to look at the message.
“Huh, look at that! It’s almost like this person heard you.” Hanta chuckled, looking over the message. “What do you think? Coffee?” Eijiro nodded then sent his first text out in response to the inquirer.
TO (YOU): Awesome! We haven’t really had any luck with anyone reliable.. so since that’s the case.. would you mind if me and the other roommate meet you for, say.. coffee? How’s tomorrow morning sound around 8:30-ish?
Sero scowled, “8:30 in the morning, dude? You really must be desperate because we sleep till like noon on our days off. That or you’re hoping it’s a girl.” He laughed then got up to circle around the furniture to head to the kitchen. “I mean, it might be a girl… and it might be good for us. Could teach us a few things.” Kirishima didn’t think about what all that last statement could entail but Sero, thankfully, didn’t catch onto it. “I guess so. Did they respond?” Just as soon as he finished asking his question, another text came through.
“How do you feel about Camille’s down the road?” Kirishima looked over to Sero who thought for a minute then shrugged with a nod, “Alright, yeah. I could go for one of her bagels. We haven’t seen the lady in a while so we should pay her a visit.” Camille was an older woman who had a heart of gold and loved both Kirishima and Sero. They always were such gentleman when they came in but they stopped going once the crime rate escalated the past few weeks.
“That’s true. I told the person it sounded great so. Let’s head to bed so we can actually wake up early and look decent instead of a mess.” Kirishima rose from the sofa to head toward his room. Sero called out, “Wouldn’t have to get beauty sleep at all if you didn’t schedule this meeting at the crack ass of dawn.” With that, Kirishima held out his arm behind him, giving Sero the middle finger. “Stop your bitching and go to bed, princess.”
Sero laughed and both settled into bed for the night. While one went to sleep pretty quick, the other laid awake, wondering who this mystery person could be. The thought of whether it was a female or not, really stuck to Eijiro’s mind. He had hoped that if it was, they wouldn’t be scared away by the fact that they’d be living with two guys should they accept the offer at all. Kirishima wanted them to be as comfortable as possible and that’s what he intended on doing and without noticing, he drifted into a deep sleep.

❚❙ OBISPO ‘BISHOP’ LOSA MASTERLIST.
❚❙ MASTERLIST.
❚❙ JOIN MY TAG LIST.
Tumblr media
It's the first time in years that you have a date, and you would be lying if you say that you aren't nervous, turning around in front of the mirror to check again how good that tight black dress fits your body. At first you were reticent to the idea, but Bishop has been insisting since he met you two months ago. When you threw over him a coffee, after being pushed by a rude customer in the cafeteria you work at.
Ready, sweetly perfumed and grabbing your bag and your jacket, you step out to the living room. Your five years old son is eating pizza on the sofa, while watching a cartoon movie on TV. You're worried of leaving him there, even if Grace is going to take care of him. She knows exactly where to find you in case something happened.
“Matt”. You call him, kneeling close to him. “Behave as the good little man you are, okay?”
“Yeah, mom. Have fun”. Wrapping your neck with his tiny arms, he leaves a short kiss in your lips.
“Te amo, mi chiquito”. You mumble, poking the tip of his nose.
Walking out of your house, by holding Bishop's arm, you can't help but feel excited for having some time with him with a bar between both and an awful boss with his eyes on you the whole shift. The man is happy too, showing it to you through the grin constantly installed on his face, guiding you to the black car stationed in front of your sidewalk. The moment he opens you the door, you know that he's pretty different from what you had heard about El Presidente of Mayans.
“Thank you”. You mumble for a second, taking a seat on the copilot place.
Talking about your day and some funny situation you have been through today, Bishop drives to the surrounds of Santo Padre, where a new mexican restaurant has opened a few weeks ago, close to the border.
It's such a nice place decorated with lights of all colors and typical stuff from Mexico, like poncho, big sparrow hats, katrinas and a lot of bottles of Don Julio. It has a huge and wide terrace, a crowded one with people from all around the both sides of the border, enjoying their dinner while talking. A bartender brings you to the booked table by Bishop on the last day, helping you to sit like a gentleman before taking a place in front of you.
“You like the site?”
“Yeah! It's really… beautiful. And it's the first time in, I don't know, like years that I don't have some time for me”. You confess them, while he intertwines his fingers with yours over the table. “Thank you. You know… for the date”.
“You don't have to. Sounds like I'm not going to have fun”.
His laugh infects you, shaking your head slightly before being interrupted by the same bartender, who has led you to your table minutes ago.
It's amazing how easy it is to open yourself to him, just like Bishop does. Since you sat there, you haven't stopped talking about everything. Work, hobbies, life, concerns about existence… You're not only discovering things about him, nice ones you must say, but about you too. Matt's father never let you talk this much, usually getting bored of whatever you like to speak about, or simply telling you not now, or I don't want to hear your shit. You have always felt off with him, until one day you decided to end that life of silence, of feeling small by his side, of living inhibited.
Now, it seems like you have a new opportunity with another man. A man who is respectful, who cares about you, about your son. A man who really looks like he wants to be with you. And even if you tried hard to not make illusions about it, you couldn't help it. You couldn't help but imagine how it would be to live under the same roof. How would be seeing Matt growing up with someone like Bishop.
But what feels like the perfect night is suspended by an unexpected call from Grace.
“Don't be scared, okay?”
You are already scared.
“Matt has fallen from the stairs. He's okay. He just has a bump, but we're in the hospital”.
Everything after that last word happens too fast. Bishop pays the bill and takes you to the car parked outside, driving quickly to the center town. Running through the hallways and dodging other people there, you find the waiting area.
Your son is sitting on Grace's lap, licking a lollipop and with his eyes reddened after crying. Throwing the sweet to the floor, he jumps to it to run towards you. Raising him up between your arms, you hold your kid against your chest as tight as you can.
“You okay, mijo?”
The man places a hand on the back of Matt's head, gently caressing it. He nods ashamed, resting his cheek against your chest.
“Does it hurt, baby?”
Your son shakes his head this time, wrapping your neck with his arms covered by his pajamas. You can see Bishop taking off his jacket to put it over him, showing you a sincere smile, before going to talk with Grace.
“I'm sorry, mama”.
“It's okay, baby, don't worry”. You sigh, leaving a soft kiss on his temple.
You feel bad for the man, having failed to enjoy the night you promised him. Having to act like your chofer, to bring you back home. And you feel bad for the illusions you have made, breaking into pieces inside you. You don't blame Matt, or Grace. You couldn't and it wouldn't be fair. You blame yourself, being aware that you were the one who should be taking care of your son. Because, yes, that could happen to you two, but you wouldn't drag anyone else to it.
After tucking Matt in bed and waiting for him to be asleep, you leave his door half-closed, coming back downstairs to the living room. Bishop is having a look at your photographs together, around the years, around California and that time you went to Disney.
“He is finally sleeping”. You say, calling his attention.
“He feels good?”
Pressing your lips, you shrug your shoulders.
“Listen… I'm so sorry about what happened. It's okay if you… don't wanna call me again, I would tot—”.
“And miss another adventure in the hospital?” He chuckles interrupting you, tilting his neck to a side. “This has been by far the best date I have ever had”.
You know he's just trying to add some humor to the night and you also know he's just trying to make you feel better, but that doesn't change the fact that you're aware he's not going to call you again, or to propose to you a second date.
“I have to leave, got to wake up early tomorrow”.
“Okay”.
With a hand on the back of your neck and another holding yours, he places his lips on your left cheek. A kiss that feels like a goodbye. Even if he shows you a last smile, you can't help but feel sad seeing him leaving your house.
Sitting on your sofa and pressing a cushion against your face, you let the tears filling your eyes wet the fabric. You don't want to wake up Matt, you don't want to make him feel bad for something that wasn't his fault.
Tumblr media
Knocking on his door and opening it to find him reading a comic on his bed, you come in to caress his hair.
“Lunch is ready, baby”.
Tossing it over the mattress, he jumps off from it, to follow you to the kitchen. The bump is less swollen and he hasn't complained about it yet. Putting his plate full of macaroni with tomato and cheese in front of his face, you're about to sit too when the doorbell rings. Weirded out, you go to the entrance to attend the call by opening it.
Bishop turns around, taking off the sunglasses from his eyes, with a gentle smile drawn on his lips. You're surprised. And he's confused because of that.
“Can I come in?”
“Ye—Yeah”. You answer, taking some steps back to give him more space.
“How's him?”
“Feeling better. We just… started to eat lunch. Do you… wanna stay?”
You don't understand why he has come, but you're feeling again the tickles in your belly when he nods closing the door.
“Without counting yesterday, I'm not sure when it was the last time I ate something decent”.
Leaning towards you, he kisses your cheek again like last night. But this time, it feels different. It feels like you really have a second choice. And you can't help but hug him, with your arms around his middle back. Bishop chuckles embracing you without doubting, kissing your forehead before you hide your face under his chin.
“I was being serious last night, querida. I wouldn't let someone like you escape from me”.

New Light Part: 2
College Levi x Reader(Modern AU)
W/C: 5.2k
T/W: None
A/N: Levi is a moody English major who spends his free time reading at the local cafe. I’m having a lot of fun writing this ! (pic from pinterest)
I’ve put all the parts in one list here:  New Light Masterlist
Tumblr media
Levi’s POV
Levi and Erwin sat in silence on their drive home. The blinker would occasionally fill the car with a strong click. Levi counted the lit up rooms in the passing apartments. Five, Six, Seven… He wanted to keep his mind off of you, the way your hair framed your face, your hand caressing the mug, the way you pressed your lips together when you listened someone speak.
“So, how long have you known (Y/N)?” Erwin asked as if he knew Levi was thinking about you.
“A couple of months,” he responded.
“Do you like her?” Erwin prodded.
“She’s nice,” Levi said.
Erwin nodded, he knew better than to ask further.
This was how their conversions normally went, Erwin would begin with a blunt statement and Levi would respond in a short manner. From an outsider’s perspective, it might have seemed like the two men weren’t friends but this dynamic worked for them. Erwin was straightforward with what he wanted and Levi didn’t like talking about personal subjects, even with one of his closest friends.
When they arrived to their shared apartment, they said their goodnights and went into their rooms. Erwin had to be up early tomorrow for a debate meeting and Levi wanted to be alone. After they moved out of the dorms they decided to keep living together because it was the most cost effective option and plus Levi liked that Erwin was as neat as him, almost as neat. They lived in an old, walk-up apartment ten minutes away from Wall Rose University in a quiet neighborhood. They’ve been living there for three years now and had no plans to move out anytime soon.
Levi opened the window slightly to let the cool air in, raindrops fell from the gutter and filled the dark bedroom with gentle taps.. He laid down on the bed and breathed in the smell of the city and old books in his room. He closed his eyes and let his body melt into the bedsheets, he used the same lavender fabric softener his mom loved. Mmm, I should give her a call tomorrow, he thought. He felt his thoughts bounce around in his head but he was too tired to unravel them. Levi focused on his breathing and eventually his thoughts subdued into lenient bystanders.
There was silence around him when suddenly, you popped up in his thoughts. Levi let out a small sigh. Fuck, what are the odds of her knowing Hange. Hange of all people, the one person who doesn’t know how to shut up, Levi thought. Frustration began to fill his chest. He wanted you to meet his friends and he wanted to know more about you but he didn’t want it to happen like this. Levi wanted to do it right with you. He knew wasn’t the most charismatic or hospitable person and romance wasn’t his forte. Romance, Levi thought and chuckled. He remembered Erwin’s earlier question. Do I like her?
He sat up and pinched the bridge of his nose with his index and forefinger. He didn’t have a ton of experience with romance. His only relationship with Petra ended in a disaster, she broke up with him after feeling neglected for months. That was never Levi’s intent, he loved her but he didn’t know how to express it. Whenever he saw her on campus she would always give him a smile and wave which Levi would reciprocate. He regretted the way everything ended but he was thankful she didn’t hold a vengeance against him. He was 18 and foolish but he was older now and slightly less foolish.
Levi looked out the window and started to form a plan in his head. It was evident he had some sort of feelings for you, you were funny, pretty, easy to talk to and you cared about what he had to say. He smiled as he remembered how earnestly you looked at him while he explained the latest book he was reading, he started reading books he thought you might like. Shitballs, maybe I do like her. There was nothing he could do now, he didn’t want to do anything until he had a better understanding about what you were thinking. He nodded his head, proud of his plan.
The hardwood floor creaked as Erwin walked over to the bathroom. Outside of the window, the sky was beginning to glow with a soft orange hue. Levi closed the curtain, pulled off his clothes and tucked himself into bed. He curled his body around a pillow and slowly began to drift off, eager to wake up to begin his plan.
The crisp autumn hit your face as you opened the doors to the lecture hall. You felt light and airy after finishing your genetics midterm. It was one of the hardest tests you’ve taken but you felt okay about it. Hange had helped you study for the past week and their enthusiasm and studying techniques helped you out immensely. I owe them big time, you thought. Your phone buzzed in your pocket, it was Hange.
Hange: U FREAKING DID IT!!! IM SO PROUD XD
You: thank uuu, i feel good about it!
Hange: YAY! We’re out in the park blocks! Join us!
You: ok !
You stared at the screen and re-read the conversation. Join us...they must mean Levi and Erwin. You scoffed the tip of your boot into the pavement, the familiar feeling of nerves began to dance in your stomach. Slowly, you made your way to the park blocks, the on-campus park where students would have picnics and study sessions. Students began to pour out of lecture halls and other buildings, eager to celebrate the end of midterms week. There was an undeniable feeling of excitement as they cheered and laughed.
You stood at the edge of the park looking for the trio. Levi waved his hand from a picnic bench and smiled at you. Your heart momentarily stopped and you realized you’ve never seen him outside of the cafe. He was wearing a hunter green sweater and his black overcoat. The wind feebly moved through his hair but even from farway you could see the deep circles around his eyes. You made your way to the trio and gave out a half-hearted hello.
“(Y/N)! How do you feel?!” Hange shouted.
“Fucking relieved,” You said. Levi smiled.
“I’m proud of you, (Y/N). Hange told us about all the hours you studied for the exam.” Erwin gave you a thumbs up.
“Thanks, dude. How were your midterms?” You asked as you sat down next to Erwin.
“They went well! I think I got an A on my Political Theory exam but we’ll find out soon enough.”
“Erwin, you clown, you know you aced that test.” Hange rolled their eyes. “But thanks to the lovely Levi, I know I got an A on my essay.”
Levi frowned. “Tsk, I was surprised you even knew how to spell.”
Hange hit Levi’s shoulders and he swiped back.
“Hey, stop it you two,” Erwin scolded. “I swear, they’re like children.”
You laughed and nodded. The Levi you knew was always stoic and calm but Hange brought out a different side of him. He looked happier even when he was annoyed. You grabbed a dead leaf from the table and started to pull it apart, rubbing the dead plant bits between your fingers.
“Are you good?” Levi’s voice broke your concentration. You looked up and met his gray-blue eyes.
“Yep, all good here.” You smiled at him and he returned one back.
“That’s fantastic! So tonight. Ymir’s Bar at eight. Got it?” Hange ordered.
Erwin and Levi nodded in response and looked at you. Your eyes darted between the three of them.
“Uh, I would love but I’m hanging out with a few people tonight.”
“Please, join us! Your friends are more than welcome to come, the more the merrier,” Hange begged.
“I beg to differ…” Levi mumbled.
“Shut up, grumps.” Hange elbowed Levi and returned their gaze back to you. “It’ll be fun, I’ll buy you a shot.”
You rolled your eyes, “fine, but I’m buying you a shot. I owe you, Hange.”
Hange squealed and clapped their hands. “Yay! My friend, Moblit will tag along too. You haven’t met him yet but he’s great and such a talented artist. You’ll love him.”
“Sweet, I’m excited, can you send me the address?” You responded. Hange nodded.
“Who are you hanging out with?” Erwin asked.
“Oh, uh. My boyfriend and some of our friends,” You muttered.
“I didn’t know you had a boyfriend. (Y/N) why didn’t you tell me?” Hange asked, heartbroken.
Erwin glanced at Levi. He was looking at the grains in the table, his heart sank but he knew better than to let his friends know.
“I don’t know. It didn’t seem like the most important thing to talk about during our study sessions.” You were unsure why but you felt defensive over Hange’s comment.
Hange looked hurt at your response, you felt a pang of regret. You didn’t mean to keep your relationship a secret but your life didn’t revolve around your relationship so it felt pointless to bring him up. The air around the table was tense and cold. The sun was setting and the four of you were on the brink of being enveloped by the shadow of a large lecture hall.
“Regardless, I’m eager to meet your boyfriend and friends,” Erwin said in a strained voice.
“Yeah, I’m excited for all of you to meet. I think I’m going to go home and get ready.”
“Of course, we’ll see you soon,” Erwin said in a quiet tone.
You waved goodbye to all of them, the trio waved back and you made your way to the bus station. As you waited for the bus, you sent your boyfriend a message to meet your new friends at Ymir’s. He sent back a simple thumbs up emoji as a response. You pulled out a pair of headphones and blasted music to drown out your thoughts. Yet Levi’s face kept on appearing in your head, the way the sunlight caressed the hard lines of his face, his honest smile when he was with his friends, the way his eyes lost their glow when you announced you had a boyfriend. We never did anything. Hell, I didn’t even know his name until last week so why should I care what he thinks. We’re just coffee shop friends, that’s it. The bus pulled to the stop, you waited for everyone to exit before entering and made your way to the back window seat. The glass was cold on your forehead but it felt nice. You sighed, preparing yourself for a night out with your new friends and your boyfriend.
Levi’s POV
After you left, Hange and Erwin looked at Levi with concern in their eyes. Levi noticed their stares and glanced up at them.
“The fuck you looking at,” he growled.
“Levi, I’m sorry,” Hange whispered.
“About what?” He scoffed.
Erwin was about to speak but Levi abruptly got up and buttoned his coat. “I’m going home. I’ll see you both at Ymir’s.”
Erwin and Hange exchanged a look and nodded. When Levi made up his mind there was no stopping him. They watched him walk away, his head was slightly lower than usual. Levi walked over to the bike rack and unhooked his black low handle bicycle. In one smooth motion, he drapped his leg over the seat and began to peddle home. The wind hurt his face and burned his lungs but he pushed harder and harder on the pedals. Crouching down on the seat as he biked up the hills, hoping to ride away from the bench to run away from his disillusion that you could love him.
A few hours later, Erwin, Hange and Moblit entered the apartment. Hange called out to Levi.
“Hey, Mr. Grumps! We have something for yoooou!!” They called out.
Levi moaned and rolled out of bed, his bare feet hit the cold ground as he dragged himself to the living.
“What is it, Four Eyes? Hey, take off your disgusting shoes,” he scolded. “Oh, hey, Moblit.”
Moblit raised his head slightly as a hello. He wasn’t a man of many words. Hange held up a bottle of whiskey and grinned. “So we could pre-game. Take this as a thank you present for helping me write my essay.”
Levi rolled his eyes and smiled. He was touched by Hange’s generosity but he would never dare show it to them.
“I’ll grab us some mugs,” Erwin said and began to walk towards the kitchen.
“No, Erwin! Tonight’s a shot type of night,” Hange said deviously.
The three men looked at them and hesitantly nodded. They wanted to relax and unwind but a  night out led by Hange always ended up with someone’s head in the toilet. Still, they each filled a shot glass, cheered and downed the alcohol. They drank for a while, everyone’s faces were glowing. Hange was blasting music and dancing. Moblit watched them with admiration. Erwin and Levi were giggling over something stupid Erwin said.
Erwin looked at the clock, it was closing in on 8. “Shit, we should get going.”
“Hey, man watch your mouth. And maybe we should stay in. It’s cheaper,” Levi said.
“Levi, noooo. We can’t do that. We told (Y/N)  that we would meet her at Ymir’s!” The alcohol was already getting to Hange.
“Who’s (Y/N)?” Mobit asked.
“My friend from genetics! And Levi’s too,” Hange proclaimed.
Levi rolled his eyes. “Tsk, she’s not my friend. I hardly know her.”
“Mmm, if you say so.”
“Whatever, let’s go,” Levi said curtly.
The four of them grabbed their coats and headed to Ymir’s. It was only a ten minute walk from their place. Hange let everyone know that you had already arrived and saved a table on the back patio. As they walked, they talked about their finals and plans for the upcoming break.  When they arrived at Ymir’s, they pushed open the door and entered the humid room. The bar was full of people celebrating the weekend, a couple was making out in one of the booths and people were lined around the bar. They ordered their drinks and walked through the back doors.
Levi’s hands began to sweat and he felt a lump in his throat when he saw you. You looked beautiful under the glow of the patio lights, you were smiling and had a beer glass on your lips and you were laughing. Erwin stood in place and Hange stopped their chatter.
“Oh, so that’s what they’re doing now,” Hange spouted.
They were referring to Zeke who had their arm around you and to Porco and Pieck who were sitting across from you and your boyfriend.
You saw the group at the back entrance and waved. Your nerves from earlier were completely forgotten after your second beer. Zeke rubbed his thumb against your shoulder and you smiled out of habit. You made eye contact with Levi and gave him a toothy grin, his eyes darted away. Your friends looked at the party headed towards them and stopped talking but you didn’t notice.
“Hey, I was wondering if y’all forgot where the bar is,” you joked but no one laughed.
“Erwin. Levi. It’s been a while,” Zeke stated.
You looked at him confused. “What? You know them?”
Zeke chuckled, “yeah, I guess I do.”
“Zeke, it’s nice to see you again. Same to you Porco and Pieck,” Erwin stated.
Porco and Pieck looked at each other and smiled. “It’s nice to see you too, Erwin,” Pieck said in a sweet voice.
Levi glared at the way Zeke’s arm was draped across your shoulder. He gritted his teeth. Hange noticed how tense he was getting and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“What a small world! I’m glad everyone knows each other. Guys, sit down!” You motioned at the empty seats at the table, completely misreading the space.
Hange was the first to sit and the rest followed. The table was quiet for a few minutes, everyone sipped on their drinks.
“Levi, I like your scarf,” You pointed to the black scarf draped across his body.
“Thanks.”
“Yeah, it’s such a nice scarf,” Zeke repeated.
Levi gave Zeke a dirty look. Hange looked at him nervously and Moblit put a hand on their knee to calm them. You took another sip of your beer.
“Yeah, Zeke, it is a nice scarf. That’s why I complimented it. Anyways, how do you all know each other?” Confidence surged through your veins thanks to the alcohol.
“We were floormates freshman year,” Levi’s dry voice said.
“Wait-oh, I see,” You said.
Erwin began to make casual conversation with everyone while Levi stared at the bottom of his glass. Hange and Moblit joined Erwin and conversed with the other two at the table. Wait, is Zeke the one that called Erwin’s kickback lame? That’s the only possibility, right? Your head was dizzy from the alcohol but the puzzle pieces were starting to fall into place.
“Hey, (Y/N),” Porco called out.
“Huh?”
“You good? It looks like we lost you there for a second.”
“Yeah, Porco. I’m fine,” You said sarcastically.
“Zeke, you and (Y/N) make a good couple,” Erwin said.
Zeke chuckled and squeezed you closer to his toned body, “I know but thank you.”
You kept your head down unsure about what to do. It was evident that Zeke had an issue with Erwin and Levi but you didn’t fully understand why. From what you heard, Zeke was the one who was mean to the other two but Zeke was your boyfriend so you should be on his side, right? You took another swig of your beer.
“Levi, are you still with Petra?” Pieck asked.
Petra? Who the fuck is that, you thought, anger coursed through your veins.
“No,” Levi said.
“Oh, that’s too bad. She was such a lovely girl,” Pieck sighed.
“Who’s Petra?” You asked.
No one answered your question. You looked at Pieck but she kept her eyes down. What the fuck is up?
“She’s a girl I dated freshman year,” Levi explained.
“Oh.”
Hange broke the tension by shouting, “(Y/N), I promised you a shot! Who else wants one?”
Pieck, Moblit and Erwin raised their hands. Hange called over a server and asked for a round of shots for everyone. A few minutes later, they brought tequila shots for the table. Everyone grabbed their lime and raised their glass.
“To finishing finals!” Hange exclaimed.
The table repeated what Hange said and took their shot. You and Porco laughed at Pieck’s face and she stuck her tongue out at you. Zeke kissed your cheek and you leaned into his warm body. For a second, it felt like it did at the beginning of your relationship. You felt safe and hopeful but those feelings disappeared when you caught Levi looking at you and Zeke. Immediately, you pulled away and Zeke frowned. You weren’t one for PDA but after a few drinks you didn’t mind showing your man some love but under Levi’s eye it felt wrong.
“Let’s do another shot!” Hange shouted.
“Hange!! Let me buy you a shot!!” You shouted back.
“(Y/N), you’re the best!!” Hange exclaimed, their cheeks glowing under the lights.
Everyone took another shot and the mood around the table began to lighten as everyone got drunker. Porco made a few jokes that made Erwin laugh. Zeke talked to Hange about their senior thesis. Everything seemed to be falling into place except for Levi. He didn’t make an effort to hold a conversation with anyone. He stared at the empty shot glasses and occasionally smiled at whatever Erwin said.
The patio lights shadows made Levi look heavenly, the soft glow bounced off his pale skin and you tried not to stare but you couldn’t, he looked so pretty.
Zeke could sense that your thoughts were taking you elsewhere so he gave you a kiss on the check. You gave him a smile in return.
The bar was packed and everyone at the table was talking after a new round of drinks. It should be a perfect night, all of your friends seemed to be getting alone but something didn’t feel right. In that moment, you wished it could have been Levi holding your body. Stop, Levi is just a friend, that’s it. I love Zeke. You repeated in your head over and over.
As the night dragged on, you slowly began to lose touch with reality, everything became a happy, surreal blur. Throughout the night, Zeke kept his hands on your body. Before that would have kept you grounded but now it felt off, you weren’t sure if it was the alcohol but you didn’t want him to touch you. You kept on smiling and talking to everyone until the bartender called for final orders.
“This was nice but I think we should get going now,” Erwin declared.
“Yeah, I think you’re right,” Pieck said.
Everyone gathered their belongings and started to walk towards the front door. Zeke walked ahead with Porco and Pieck but you stayed behind with the others. Erwin, Hange and Moblit left you and Levi together alone. Hange’s arm was wrapped around Moblit’s shoulder. They leaned against their body and continued talking.
“Hey, I had a good time tonight,” You said to Levi who barely acknowledged your existence.
“It was okay,” He stated.
The two of you followed the others.
“But what are the odds of us forming a friendship in this way, right?” You said.
“Tsk, a friendship? We hardly know each other, I wouldn't push it,” Levi responded.
“I guess you’re right,” You muttered.
Levi felt bad about his harsh tone but he didn’t know what to do. He still had the same warm feeling in his chest from before but watching Zeke touch you hurt him. All of you had exited the bar and you walked over to Zeke and he placed his jacket over your shoulders.
“Well, it was, uh, nice to catch up with all of you. Hange thank you for helping my girl study. Get home safe,” Zeke said. You smiled and everyone and waved.
“Zeke, the same to you too. Glad to know you’re doing well. (Y/N) congrats on finishing midterms. See you later,” Erwin said.
“I love yoouuu! I love all of you!” Hange shouted. Moblit still had his arm around Hange to stabilize them.
“Love you too, Hange!” You blew them a kiss.
They all turned and began to walk home. Porco and Pieck had already left in their Uber. You looked at Zeke and he gave you a smile and you smiled back out of habit.
Zeke made conversation on your way back to his place. You wrapped your arms around your body and counted the steps in between each street light. The air around you was dry and your breath fell to the ground in a transparent cloud. Eventually, you made it to Zeke’s apartment, it was highrise close to downtown. When you entered the apartment your attention immediately went to the large windows. They faced the city skyline and the lights poured into the living room and gently outlined the minimal furniture in the room. Zeke led you to the bedroom and began to kiss the back of your neck. His beard tickled your neck and left goosebumps on your skin. You rolled your shoulders and stepped away.
“Come on,” Zeke groaned.
“No, not tonight. I’m really tired,” You said.
You made your way to the bathroom and turned on the harsh lights. The lights bounced off the white tiles and highlighted the bags under your eyes. You stared at yourself for a while, the longer you stared, the faster your thoughts swirled in your head. Is Levi made at me? You splashed cold water on your face and tried to wash off the awkwardness from tonight but no matter how hard you scrubbed, you couldn’t get the image of Levi staring at the empty glasses out of your head.
When you walked back into the bedroom you saw Zeke passed on the bed. You smiled at him and placed a blanket over his body and brushed his hair away from his forehead. You curled up on the opposite side of the bed and wrapped a blanket around yourself. Zeke’s soft snores filled the room, normally that was enough to lull you to sleep but lately it was becoming more of a nuisance. Why am I feeling like this? I love Zeke and he loves me back, that should be enough. So why do I feel so unsure? Zeke wasn’t your first partner but he was your first proper love. Everything beforehand had felt like practice for this.
The two of you had met in the spring term of sophomore year. The sun was shining and you we’re sitting on a blanket with Rico bouncing off ideas for research projects. You kept an eye on the baseball team who were practicing near the two of you. Rico was in the middle of explaining her ideas when a baseball flew in your direction.
“Heads up!” shouted a deep voice.
Both of you covered your heads as the ball flew over your blanket. The footsteps of one of the players was nearing your spot.
“Hey, I’m sorry about that.”
You tried to look up but the sun was blinding your eyes. You were able to make out the outline of a tall, man with broad shoulders and wavy blonde hair. He flashed a charismatic smile and said,“the name’s Jaeger. Zeke Jaeger.”
You introduced yourself and Zeke knelt down so his head was at your level.
“Nice to meet you. I feel about almost hitting you. Not sure what happened, normally I have perfect aim.” He winked at you. “Let me make it up by taking you out for a drink, your friend is more than welcomed to come.”
You blushed and thanked him and began to decline your offer when Rico interrupted you.
“She, I mean, we would love that. Here’s her number and mine, too.”
“Thanks, I’ll shoot y’all a text.”
Zeke stood up, grabbed the ball and gave you a wave before running back to his team. From that point on, the two of you had been inseparable.
You drifted off thinking about those first memories, the sweetness of his touch, the excitement of loving Zeke, the hopefulness you had. If you kept on thinking about those moments then maybe they would manifest back into your life. You wanted back that stability in your love so much it hurt your chest.
The next day you rolled over to an empty bed. Your hand traced the cold sheets and you kept your hands in the sunlight, the warmth felt good compared to the draft in Zeke’s bedroom. He preferred a colder bedroom, he said it was better for the body. The front door opened and you pretended to be asleep. Zeke’s footsteps got closer to the bed and you felt him press a kiss to your cheek, he smelled of sweat and musk. Who goes on a run after a night out? You thought. The showerhead turned on and you heard Zeke sing.
You got up and rummaged through Zeke’s drawer and pulled out a navy cardigan. You wrapped the fabric over your body and padded your way to the kitchen. The kitchen was colder than the bedroom.
“Fuck, who lives like this?”
You poured yourself water and stared at the tiles on the walls. Re-playing Levi’s comment in your head. Tsk, a friendship? We hardly know each other, I wouldn't push it. You didn’t blame Levi for his harshness but his comment hurt. There was no denying that you two shared a kinship that was a bit deeper than friendship. Romance wasn’t the word for it either. The relationship you had formed with him felt safe, you felt understood and respected in a way you haven’t really before. Your concentration was broken when you heard Zeke enter the kitchen.
“Hey, babe. Good morning.” He pressed a kiss to your temple. “I bought you a smoothie.”
“Thanks, Zeke,” you responded.
He grabbed the smoothie from the fridge and smiled at you. You sat on the counter and began to sip on the drink. Zeke hummed to himself and began to pull out a pan from the cupboard.
“Whatcha thinking about?” you asked.
“Life.”
“Like, the gameboard?” You joked.
He rolled his eyes. “Honestly, I’m thinking about last night. I never thought I was going to see those guys ever again.”
“Mmm, why did something happen?” You said nonchalantly.
Zeke chuckled, “stupid freshman things. We were all young and dumb.”
He stayed silent afterwards as he went on to fry some eggs. The eggs sizzled in the pan and he whistled quietly. You knew him well enough to know he wanted to say something else.
“I mean, I did dumb stuff when I was freshman so how bad can it actually be?” You prodded.
Zeke stared at you with a series expression. “Look (Y/N), I don’t really want to hash out what happened but-” he hesitated as he looked for the right words to say, “-be careful around Levi. There’s something off about that guy.”
“Oh,” you muttered.
You continued drinking the smoothie, the smell of the egg was making you nauseous and you started to feel the hanging over. You went back into the bedroom and laid down. Your phone buzzed and saw a text from Hange.
Hange: OMG i’m so hungover, i don’t remember getting home
You: Hange, WTF that’s not good lol but I know you were in good hands ;)
Hange: wut does that mean??
You: Moblit lol he was so nice and caring
Hange: … no comment but what are you doing
You: nothing really, why?
Hange: do you want to get brunch?
Hange: it’ll just be the two of us :)
You: yeah, i would love that, send me the address !
The smell of egg had entered the bedroom and you gagged. You hated the smell but Zeke insisted that it was the best way to get protein in the morning. You grabbed your belongings and walked to the kitchen again. Zeke was sitting at the counter eating the eggs and drinking his smoothie while reading the paper.
“Hey, I think I’m gonna head out!”
“Really? I thought we could spend the day together before I leave,” Zeke responded.
“You’re leaving?” You paused while putting on your shoes.
“I thought I told you. My internship is taking me on a trip for the next three days and then I’m heading home for the break,” Zeke said in between bites of food.
“Shit. You didn’t tell me. How about we hang out later today?”
“Yeah, I guess that sounds good to me. I’ll see you later,” he said.
“See ya.”
You went back to your apartment to freshen up and hurried to the diner Hange was it. You stepped through the doors and immediately saw Hange’s smiling face. They were waving you to their table. You greeted them with equal excitement and walked to them. For the past few weeks, some of your favorite moments have been hanging out with them. They always brightened your mood with their cheerful banter and love for life. You were excited to eat brunch with them and question them more about the history between the trio and your boyfriend.

Not only was this your first holiday away from home, it was your first holiday in a different country with your boyfriend, Ashton. Leading up to your flight, Ashton was shaking with excitement and talking a mile a minute about all of the places he’s going to take you, the foods you’re going to try, and spending time with his family.
You were excited too but also nervous. You’ve met his mom and siblings over facetime a couple of times, but you’re still nervous if they’ll like you.
Just as you were about to fall asleep before you had to wake up for an early flight, Ashton springs out of bed and flicks the closet light on. You groan into his pillow before leaning on your elbow to watch him search through his carry-on for the hundredth time.
“Babe, what could you possibly forget that you wouldn’t be able to get in Australia?” you groan.
He zips up a pocket, shuts the light off then slips into bed with you.
“I”m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you, angel,” he apologizes. His hand rubs into your back and you feel his lips on your hair.
“What are you even worried about? I’m the one meeting your family for the first time,” you grumble sleepily.
“They already love you. I’m just excited.”
“You’re so excited you won’t even need coffee tomorrow,” you tease. He pinches your side and you giggle as he kisses your neck.
“I always need coffee.”
**
The seventeen hour flight dragged. You slept for a few hours, tried to walk up and down the aisles to stretch your legs but you were getting antsy. You’re thankful Ashton convinced you to fly first class because you had more room for your legs to stretch but you were still feeling confined.
“Hey, you’re all right,” Ashton says resting his palm on your shaking knee. Your fingers continue to tap on the arm rest but he places his other hand over them to stop the motion. “Only a couple hours left.”
“I’m trying not to freak out,” you mutter and focus on a spot on the seat in front of you.
“I know,” he leans in front of you blocking the background from view. “We’re here together, you’re breathing just fine and the plane isn’t shrinking. Look at me.”
You look into his soft eyes and take a deep breath. His hand rubs your leg in soothing circles and you focus on the rotation until you’ve centered back to yourself. For the rest of the flight you lean your head on Ashton’s shoulder playing with his fingers and he plays with your hair.
Finally, when you land, you’re stretching your arms and legs while Ashton fetches your bags. You’re rolling your head from side to side and shaking your fingers. The weather is warm as you expected and it feels good to breathe in fresh air rather than stale plane aire.
Ashton points out certain spots that are tied to memories of his. You love looking at the scenery and listening to Ashton’s stories. His voice relaxes you and you think you feel the jet lag even though you’ve never experienced it before.
“Angel...wake up, we’re here…”
Ashton’s soft touch on your cheek and his voice in your ear pulls you awake. You hadn’t even realized you fell asleep.
“Where’s here?” you ask groggily.
“My mum’s house,” he chuckles and then you shoot straight up in your seat.
“OW!”
In your speed you end up klunking your head with Ashton’s. He’s rubbing his eye while you rub your head then he giggles.
“I’m sorry!” you exclaim stroking his forehead carefully.
“Are you trying to make a hospital visit to deter meeting my family?” he laughs.
“No, I forgot where I was for a moment,” you shake your head then take a deep breath. “Let’s go.”
The meeting went better than you thought, his mother reminding you of your own. She was very welcoming and hugged you on arrival. Each day leading up to Christmas was full of experiencing traditions Ashton has done since he was little.
“When the hell did you get these?” Ashton asks coming up behind you in the bathroom. You’re rubbing moisturizer on your face, his hands rubbing over your ass that is more accentuated because of your new leggings.
“A few weeks ago,” you shrug, “they’re the leggings I kept seeing on TikTok and I wanted a pair. Do they look okay?”
“Are they supposed to make your ass look this good?” he gives you a squeeze for good measure.
“That’s the point, yes,” you giggle at his reflection.
“And you’re planning on wearing these in front of my mum?” his eyebrows raise and his hands keep roaming over your ass.
“No, these are just for sleeping. We’re going to wear matching onesies tomorrow for Christmas morning.”
“Is that so?” he spins you around lifting you onto the bathroom counter, your legs wrap around his waist. “I want to enjoy you in these first.”
His lips attach to yours in a frenzied kiss, his large hands roaming over your backside. The two of you end up covering each other’s mouths when you finally connect, you can’t be as loud as you normally are with his family just downstairs.
**
New Year’s Eve has finally arrived and Ashton curated a delicious meal. When it was nearing midnight he took you for a drive along the coast then stopped where other cars were gathered along the beach.
“What’s this?” you ask taking his hand as he leads you towards the shore. He settles a blanket in the sand and sits down, patting his thigh for you to join him. Once you’re in between his legs he wraps his arms around you and kisses your cheek.
“This is a tradition every New Year’s. Just wait.”
The cool breeze makes you shiver but Ashton’s body heat keeps you warm as you wait for whatever it is you’re here for.
“Ten...nine...eight…” Ashton murmurs in your ear counting down with the other patrons on the beach. For some reason your heart accelerates at the countdown. He tilts your face towards his. “Four..three...two...one.”
Ashton presses his lips to yours just as fireworks explode behind you. You can see the bright explosions of color behind your eyes but you’re more preoccupied with the fireworks between you and Ashton.
“Happy New Year, angel,” he whispers in between kisses.
“Happy New Year,” you smile rubbing the beard on his cheeks.
You sit together wrapped in each other’s arms watching the light show and the way it illuminates over the body of water. You take photos of some and a few snapshots of you and Ashton kissing below the light show.
When it’s ended and you head back to his mom’s house, the lights are out and you settle on the couch with Ashton. He comes out of the kitchen with some sparkling juice, his months of sobriety have been excellent and you’re more than happy to be on that journey with him. He turns on the tv so you can watch the rest of the world welcome the new year.
“I like how it’s already the new year for us,” you say as he settles next to you. “It’s like we time traveled and we’re here in the new year alone.”
“You’d want to be the only two people in the world?” he laughs.
“Only with you,” you smile and squeeze his knee.
When the bottle of sparkling is halfway through, Ashton bolts from the couch and leaves the room. Thinking he went to the bathroom you pay it no mind and take another sip of the juice watching the New York feed as they only have ten minutes until the ball drops.
Ashton returns but instead of sitting next to you, he kneels in front of you, his eyes wide with excitement.
“What are you--?”
“I was thinking of doing this on your birthday, or our anniversary, even on Christmas morning or earlier tonight at the fireworks,” he starts and you’re more confused.
“Doing what?”
He pulls out a small box from behind his back. Your eyes dart from the box to his face about a dozen times until it clicks and you gasp.
“I wanted the moment to be perfect but every moment with you is perfect,” he continues and opens the box. He takes your hand. “I love you endlessly. Will you marry me?”
You sit in shock at the moment, then the ring makes you stop breathing because it’s so beautiful. Your head is swimming as you realize he kept checking his bag to make sure had the ring inside and didn’t forget it at home.
“Y/N?”
“I’m sorry! I’m--of course I’ll marry you! I feel like I’m dreaming, yes, Ashton, yes!” you stretch over to kiss him happily and he slips the ring on your finger. “I love you.”
“I love you,” he says and starts to remove your leggings. When the ball drops on the tv so does Ashton in between your legs as you celebrate the new year all over again.

Happy To Help - David Dobrik
Tumblr media
“Baby, what’s wrong?” I ask, sitting up in our bed. David came in with a serious look on his face. One that I don’t see very often. Definitely not this early on a Sunday morning, it’s still early and quiet. The only reason he got out of bed was his mom calling his phone.
“My dad threw out his back really badly and he needs surgery.” He walks over to sit on the edge of the bed.
“Is he okay?” I ask tentatively.
“Yeah, he’s claiming he’s fine but my mom said he can’t even move. He’s in a lot of pain.” David wipes at his face, “Fuck.”
“How can I help?” I take his hand in mine and try to get him to focus, “Should we fly out to help out? If he needs surgery he’s going to be in the hospital for a while.”
He nods and leans into my touch. I pull him back to lay on top of me on our bed. He worries about his family all the time, this is like a nightmare for him.
“I’m gonna call Jack.” He announces.
He grabs his phone and calls his manager to inform him of what happened. I tune out most of what he says as I grab a bag for each of us. I start packing my own things so we can leave as soon as he needs to.
“Are you serious?” David’s voice suddenly pulls me from my thoughts. He’s sitting on the Lovesac with his phone on speaker.
“I can try to get you out of that shoot David, but they're just going to cut you out and move on with someone else. The only real issue with it is that filming for Dodgeball Thunderdome starts this week. We’ve signed a lot of contracts, I can try to get you out of them but I know how excited you were about hosting this show.”
“Fuck.” He mutters softly. “I need to be in Vernon hills by tonight. My parents are going to in to Chicago for surgery so someone needs to stay at the house. Plus once they get back they’ll need help.”
“I totally get that David.” Jack agrees, “I just want you to know the gravity of you leaving this week. The position you’re putting in those you work with. I just worry about your reputation a little and if they’ll be willing to postpone for you.”
“I’ll go.” I cut in. There’s no need for David to give up something he’s worked so hard for and he loves so much. He’s one of the hardest working people I know and he deserves everything that he’s earned.
“What?” David’s head snaps in my direction.
“You stay here, get everything done that you need to. I’ll fly out and help with the girls and Toby. Then I’ll be there when your parents get home to help. You can fly out once you’re done with everything or you get a break.” I shrug.
“Jack, let me call you back.” He hangs up the phone and gets up from his seat. He walks over to grab my hand and fully pull my attention from the clothes I had been folding, “Are you serious right now? You would do that for me?”
“Of course I would.” I smile, his arms wrap around my waist so mine settle over his shoulder, connecting at the back of his neck, “I would do anything for you, and your family. This is not a big deal, and it would make me happy to help. Plus then you don’t have to give up hosting your show. You’ve been excited about this for months.”
“I love you so much.” He sighs, pulling me in tight against his chest.
“You’re alright.” I tease, earning a laugh from him.
David insists on paying for my flight and driving me to the airport.
“Okay, my parents are waiting to leave once you get there. I already set up a rental car for you, so then you’ll have one the whole time you’re there.”
“Thank you, babe.” I press a kiss to his lips.
We get out of the car and David pulls my suitcase from the trunk.
“I cannot thank you enough for this.” He wraps his arms around my waist.
“I don’t need a thank you.” I shake my head, “One more kiss will do, though.”
David happily obliges, leaning in and pressing a kiss that lasted longer than all the others.
“Call me when you land.”
“Of course.”
I start to walk away, knowing that we could be saying our goodbyes for the next half hour if I don’t.
“I love you.” “I love you too.”
The flight is fairly uneventful and quiet, I try to sleep on the way to just be fully rested. Once I land I go find the car rental place and David (Natalie) had set everything up in advance so there wasn’t much waiting there either. I text Ester to let her know that I am on my way, she is definitely the Dobrik I talk to the most, other than David obviously. I make the drive to the Vernon Hills home, I call David on the way to talk for a while and let him know that I landed safely.
I park on the road so I don’t block in their car in the driveway and take my suitcase from the trunk. Toby greets me before I can even make it to the door, pulling me in for a hug. He holds open the door for me and I am greeted by the whole Dobrik family.
Palo is laying on the couch, in obvious discomfort. I send him a smile and say hello. I notice that they’re already packed up with everything they’ll need for the week.
“Thank you for being so kind.” Cristina sighs pulling me in for another hug.
“I am happy to help in any way I can.” I smile, “Please let me know if you need anything else, honestly, anything you guys need.”
We talk for a little while before they leave so they can check in. It’s over an hour drive to the hospital they’re doing it at so they leave now.
“Alright, now it’s just us.” I laugh, we’ve all already eaten dinner so we all sit down in the living room to watch a movie. We don’t stay up late, all three of them have school tomorrow. Ester stays up a little later, she talks to me about school, boys, and drama.
After we both say goodnight I make my way up to David’s room. It’s always been the room I stay in with David, but I’ve never been here without him.
“I’m laying in your childhood bed right now.”
“Why do you make that sound so sexy.” He laughs, “It’s kind of turning me on.”
“Gross.” I laugh loudly.
“How’s everything going?” He asks.
“So far it’s fine. Your dad looked like he really needed to get out of the house tonight and get checked in so I’m glad I flew in tonight instead of tomorrow morning.”
“Me too.” He sighs, “I can never thank you enough for this.”
“You don’t need to thank me, isn’t that what girlfriends are for?” I laugh.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had a girlfriend do something like this for me before.”
“I guess I’m pretty special then.” I grin, turning on my side. It’s not very often that I sleep by myself now that David and I live together, but it’s comforting to hear his voice.
“That you are.”
I don’t remember saying goodnight to David, but at some point I must’ve fallen asleep. I wake up when my alarm goes off, notifying me that I need to get ready so I can get everyone else ready and drive them all to school.
“Good morning.” I smile seeing Sara and Ester come down the stairs.
They sit down for a bowl of cereal, eventually Toby comes down, his hair angled in fifty different directions, reminding me of his older brother.
“Alright, everyone’s ready for school?”
Everyone piles in the car and we leave. I drop off Toby first, seeing as his school day starts earlier than the girls. I drop off Sara next, leaving only Ester and I in the car.
“What’s so funny?” Ester grins, glancing at me from the passenger seat.
“I never thought that I would be a soccer mom at twenty-two. It’s a little odd dropping kids off at school.”
“Whatever.” She bumps my shoulder lightly, “You’re not a mom. Yet.”
“Yet?” I raise my brows, looking over at her amused. David and I have never talked about kids, even though it's known that we both want them, just not any time soon.
“You and David will be married any day now. And the way David talks about you guys on the podcast, it doesn’t seem like you guys are staying celebete.”
My face takes on a red tint. I’ve never been a shy girl, but I was not expecting this to be our car ride conversation. Ester is old enough to not be phased by talking about sex, we’ve been having boy talk for practially as long as David and I have been dating. I’ve talked about worse, but I’ve never gone into details when it pertained to her brother.
“Oh my god, shut up!” I laugh.
“What we always talk about boys!” She grins.
“Well, it’s definitely different when my boy is your brother.”
“Yeah, that’s not the greatest, but I like talking to you. You give off older sister vibes.”
“Thanks. Now get out of the car.” I smirk, teasing her. We’re pulled up in front of her school, the same school David went to high school.
“Thanks for the ride.”
“Anytime!” I manage to pull out before many fans take notice. Thankfully, I’m not David, but still we could easily form a crowd if I stayed for too long.
It takes a few more days to fall into a good rhythm with everything. Between the kids homework, making meals, cleaning, and just trying to keep everything organized for when David’s parents come back it's been an exhausting yet rewarding week. Palo’s surgery was today, it went well. He only needs a few days in recovery before he can come home.
“Y/n, David’s asking for you.” Ester comes down the stairs, phone in hand.
“Babe, you didn’t answer your phone!” He yells through the phone.
Ester holds out her phone so I can see him on facetime.
“Sorry, Sara and I are painting our nails!” I hold up a hand as proof and he nods.
“So, how’s everything going?”
“It’s good babe, it’s actually been a pretty fun week.” I smile, “I’m starting to like your siblings more than I like you.”
“And we definitely like Y/n more than you!” Toby teases leaning into frame.
“Fuck you guys.” He laughs.
“So how’s filming been? I saw your story! Very fancy them giving you someone to follow you around with an umbrella.”
“It’s been fun. I forgot just how good it feels to be working! Do you have any idea when you’re coming back?”
I shake my head, “No, your parents are coming home in three days and I’ll talk to them and go from there. Are you still planning on staying in L.A?”
“Yeah, my mom insisted I stay here. She already feels guilty enough making you fly out, but we’ll see.”
“Okay, keep me posted. Love you.”
“Love you more.”
Ester takes her phone back and continues talking with David.
“I like the color you picked better.” Sara comments, noticing the light color I’ve picked for my nails.
“Wanna trade?”
“What? We already painted one of our hands.” She looks up at me confused.
“So what! It’ll be different. Then we kind of match.”
Sara and I finish up our nails. We all call Palo and Cristina, our nightly ritual to say good night to everyone. Everyone goes to bed, I stay up a little later so I can clean up the dishes from dinner and the nail polish that we left on the counter.
The rest of the week passes by without any hiccups. There’s a few times I can tell Toby really misses his parents, but other than that everything’s been a breeze. More than that actually, I feel closer to all of them. I was nervous to come, even though I would never tell David that. I was afraid to step in and try to help when I have no clue what I’m doing, but it went better than I could imagine.
“Are you absolutely sure?” I ask, “I don’t mind staying longer at all!”
“No!” Cristina insists, “We are fine, Palo is feeling fine now that he’s been back at home for a few days. We will be okay.”
She places a reassuring hand on my arm and I simply smile.
“Only if you’re one hundred percent sure.”
“I already told David to book you another flight.”
I thank her and go upstairs so I can pack up all of my belongings. I ended up spending ten days in Chicago, but it was alright. I had fun, and it felt good to be needed.
“Okay, I think I’m all packed up.” I bring my suitcase to the bottom of the stairs and smile at the family in the living room. I get hugs from everyone, and several thank yous. Too many if you ask me.
“I’m going to walk Y/n out to her car.” Ester grabs one of my other bags to walk with me.
“Me too!” Sara tags along.
You could never get me to wipe off the grin watching those two girls bound away with my stuff.
“The ride to school is going to seem boring now.” Ester sighs.
“I’m sure you’ll manage.” I grin.
“Yeah, but mom doesn’t talk about weed or hooking up at parties.”
“Shh!” I clamp a hand over her mouth, “And if anyone asks I don’t talk about that stuff either!”
I give them each another hug and start to get back in the car.
“Y/n, will you call me tonight? Like once you’re back home and settled.”
“Yeah, is everything okay?” I raise my brows.
“No, I just have something I want to talk to you about. You’ll get it, it’s fine!”
“Okay, weirdo!” I laugh shutting my door. I back down the driveway and notice that all of the Dobriks are out on the front porch now waving. I wave back with a smile and drive back to Chicago to finally head home.
“Baby, I’m home!” I yell, letting myself in our front door. The goal was to surprise him, he didn’t know that my flight landed early, causing me to get the jump on him.
“Y/n?” He yells back loudly. I drop my bags and round the corner to see him coming to find me.
“Baby!” He instantly pulls me into his arms, “God, I missed you.”
“I missed you too.” I sigh, pulling him in a little tighter.
After a good long cuddle in our bed it’s nice to just settle in again. It’s nice to see Natalie and Ilya too. I wasn’t that long, but I was weird to be apart from the whole group for that long. We purge on a large dinner ordered in, after stuffing our faces, David and I settle on the hammock outside together. The sun is setting slowly, letting the sky take on a pink hue.
“I can never thank you enough for what you did.”
“David, you have to stop thanking me.” I sigh, letting him twist and play with my fingers.
“Y/n.” He says my name softly.
“Hmm?” I turn to look at him, he has a surprisingly serious look on his face.
“We just moved in together. I’ve never done that with a girl, I thought that I would be afraid to do it, but with you I am not afraid of the future anymore. The only thing that scares me is a future without you, as cheesy as that sounds. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, more than anything.”
He reaches into his back pocket and I can feel a smile growing on my face. He opens up the black velvet box to reveal a beautiful ring with a large diamond sitting front and center.
“I bought this ring after you left for Chicago. I knew that I wanted to marry you before that, but right then and there I decided that I needed to lock you down.” He pauses to laugh a little, I join in too, “I needed to make if official. Make it real, because I don’t want to waste anymore time as your boyfriend. You treat my family like your own, and I want to make you mine. Forever. Y/n, will you marry me?”
“Of course!” I sigh, no longer fighting the teary eyes. I pull David in for a long sweet kiss. We pull apart laughing, he slides the ring on my finger and I smile even wider.
“Baby, it’s perfect.”
“Ester helped me pick it.” He grins, pressing several more kisses to my temple.
“She did? Of course she did. Well you both did a great job.”
“I’ll be right back, I got us champagne!” He climbs out of the hammock carefully. I smile softly watching him walk away. I pull out my phone to call the girl herself.
“Hello?” She answers almost instantly.
“You picked out a stunning ring.”
“You said yes?” She shrieks.
“Well, duh!” I laugh.
“Yay, oh my god. I love this! She said yes!” She yells loudly to I’m sure the whole family.
“Did everyone know?” I ask, sitting up a little more.
“Yeah, he’s been too excited to keep it to himself. Told everyone in L.A and of course he told us. I think everyone knew but you.”
“Sneaky boy.” I roll my eyes. David makes his way back outside, two glasses in one hand the bottle in the other. The same smile stuck on his face.
“Hey, who are you talking to already?” He rejoins me.
“Your sister. I promised her I would call.”
I put the phone on speaker so David can hear too. We talk with Ester and everyone else in the family for a while. It feels comfortable. We spend the rest of the night snuggled up together, even as it gets colder.
Natalie took a video, which I was completely oblivious to. We also got some really cute pictures, which David proudly sends to the group chat, informing everyone who he had gushed to that I had in fact said yes. It was a steady stream of congratulations.
“Ready to go inside?”
“Mhm” I sigh dreamily looking down at the new piece of jewelry on my hand.
“C’mon, it’ll still be there in the morning.”
an// this was some CUTE fluff!! Also what is David’s mom’s name? I wrote this and then I couldn’t remember if it was right so i went to look it up and i can’t even find it. so if anyone knows, cool! lol
what did you guys think?!?!

march 14, 2022; 12:20 am
i dont like the fact na gising pa ako at this time of the night pero i also dont want to sleep without typing down my thoughts and feelings kasi this whole day has been so overwhelming and i just really want to get this all out there before going to sleep and starting a new day tomorrow
family:
im starting with this one kasi ito yung nagtake ng pinaka malaking toll on me today
to cut to the chase, my lolo is really really really sick to the point na hindi na siya makagalaw and hes stuck in bed and seeing him and where he was staying kanina (he;s been stuck in bed for 3 days) just made me feel all sorts of emotions
some might say na dapat hindi ko naman problem to, which is true at some point, pero ofcourse i really care about my lolo too and at the same time, majority of my emotions are based on how my mom is feeling now din kasi
siya kasi pinaka stressed eh sakanilang tatlong magkakapatid; imagine, kung sino pa yung only girl, siya pa yung more than willing to go from paranaque all the way to batangas late at night just to try and convince my lolo to go to the hospital to finally get checked
tapos since nga ginabi na kami pauwi, itong dad ko, he spent majority of the ride home feeling so exhausted and sleepy which is super understandable naman pero ang nakakainis kasi is whenever we ask him to stop and either take a nap muna or maghilamos man lang muna, ayaw niya; gusto niya yung tinitiis niya yung antok kesa magpahinga muna siya ano ba naman yan
our car is really shitty in so many ways - panget ng suspension, masyadong madilim yung tint, tapos napaka dilim pa ng ilaw; sinong hindi mahihirapan mag drive pag ganun ka daming problema meron yung car?
work/board exam review:
di keri ipagsabay ang work and review you guys, as hard as i try, hindi talaga kaya
kasi schedule ng review classes ko is 10 am to 1 pm, tapos in a perfect world, 1 pm to 2 pm lunch time ko, 2 pm to 6 pm work, and then the rest of the night should be dedicated to reviewing again
pero hindi talaga kaya eh, kasi i always end up being too tired to do anything at night kasi nga all i can think about after review classes is work
to the point na last week, hindi ko pa nababalikan yung mga nadiscuss na namin
tapos at some point, kailangan ko pa ulit pumunta ng qc and ng pampanga for some approvals on site and to just check on everything pero jusko naman i do not want to miss any more classes
kahit na sabihin kong may recording naman yung classes, iba parin if im actually part of the class and i can be proactive when it comes to listening to the little details that our profs would be giving
long story short, i just want to focus on my review classes nalang talaga kasi if i dont, im going to end up jeopardizing one out of the two things that im trying to juggle
im going to have to ask my bosses if i can have my full time leave come april
only problem by then (if they do allow me; im sure they will naman) would be the fact na i wont be paid
personal:
i need to start selling some stuff; extra clothes, things i dont use anymore, etc just so i can have extra money
i need to get back on track again with my diet and my work out routine; nasira siya kasi last week my cravings had me in a chokehold and i couldnt resist
my period should arrive soon or else im throwing a fit
i want and need to wake up early to make sure na i have a meaningful and productive day
im also constantly reminding myself to just focus on things one day at a time, hindi yung im looking into what my entire week would look like when in fact i have no idea what the next few minutes would look like at all so taking life day by day is the way to go for sure para hindi ako mapagod palagi kakaisip on whats about to happen next
i really want and need to start driving already; its not just cause of my personal wants like wanting to drive to the places i actually want to go to by myself or seeing my friends but also lending a hand to my parents when they need a driver especially since our family driver plans on retiring already
im gonna watch drag race before going to bed kasi do not want to wait for myself to have extra time only to end up being spoiled on who won the snatch game; i just simply will not allow it
if youve made it to the end of my post, thank you for reading everything; i hope we all get to have a really lovely day tomorrow that is filled with clarity and abundance and peace
good night tumblr

Can I request how did I get so lucky with Levi? Please and thank you!😁
I really wrote hurt/comfort just like that once again i-
I really really loved writing this one, it's very different from a lot of things I've written before, I hope you like it
Warnings: none really, two Kuchels tho but I made sure you won't mix them up
Pairing: Levi/ reader
Tags: Modern au, hurt/comfort, daddy Levi strikes again
Caramel Apple
Tumblr media
Levi's foot blocks the sleek vandyke brown door from opening more than a few inches. Your eyes flicker between him and in the interior, begging to get a glimpse of the very reason you find yourself at his door again but his mascular form doesn't allow you to see much, only the shadow of his black leather couch and a few grey and copper tiles from the fireplace. It only makes you sigh in frustration as your anger starts to boil inside of you.
You've always been adamant about never entering his home again and even though you're never about to break the rules you've set for yourself tonight feels like the last straw of your sanity has been pulled. Levi is purposely not offering you to get inside, counting on the fact that you won't ask for permission to enter anyways.
"Levi, seriously, I just want to see Kuchel." Your eyes glint with anger as you speak to him in a steady tone, trying to cover your anger in such a fake way.
His choice of words though never seems to mind your tormenting patience as he lifts the words slip off of the tip of his tongue "None can do for this weekend, I'm sorry!"
"What?" Your eyes widen, your hands slightly shake "Levi I haven't seen my daughter in a week!"
It's only natural of you to demand to see your little girl. For a week now Levi has been calling you back to back, every single night, announcing to you that Kuchel wanted to stay with him, that she misses him and that she won't stop crying at the hearing of having to part ways with her father. And even if the slight rejection of your motherhood by the five year old hurt you to the core you knew much better than to try and part the two. Your break up had indeed tortured her pour little soul; she was lost between having to stay at two different houses she was forced to adjust to two separate lifestyles and her attachment to her after was getting the best of her. She didn't even want to go to school if it wasn't Levi driving her there. You could only comply to her wishes.
"It's not my fault you have dates to go to." He never gives you a chance to reply though as his eyes bore into yours with the faintest tint of mischief. "I have the weekend off so I'm taking Kuchel to Disneyland."
Between wondering whether this was too far fetched and thinking about what clothes to pack for Kuchel, Levi felt panicked. His stoic mask didn't let him show any regards towards your barely visible face, but inside his heart sank to his stomach, leaving him feel numb.
It was the first time in the two years that you had broken up that he had ever done something so selfish to you. So far he had been the perfect co parent, picking up Kuchel almost everyday to drop her at her pre school, always making sure that your days with your daughter were arranged evenly. Overall there has been nothing you could negatively accuse him for and he's so proud of the profile he has kept.
In the last month he's been feeling so conflicted internally that it's become unbearable. He's been through miserable, never ending nights feeling alone and abandoned. You wouldn't bring yourself to understand, he knows that very well, so telling you is off the table. Though there nights he wants you and his daughter by his side, there are mornings he wants to wake up and see the two of you cuddled on the other side of the bed just like once before.
"I'm really going to have to ask you to leave." The sound of his tongue clicking is louder than the words that leave his mouth. As his eyes stare into yours with an unreadable feeling plastered on them you can feel that anger, the one that has been boiling in your stomach for so long, staring to eat away your insides. "Kuchel is asleep and I don't want her sleep disturbe-"
Your jaw drops and your words refuse to let go off your tongue. Any hopes of trying to remain civil tonight have been thrown out of the window because you're simply not having it. There's not much you can do from standing behind his front door though. No begging will ever even convince him to let down his guard and he'd be right. That was part of the reason you wouldn't enter his house amymore nonetheless.
"I miss my baby Levi, you're being so unfair!Doesn't Kou miss me?"
Levi flinches at the nickname. There's a restrain in his heart that won't allow him to speak of anyone in nicknames ever again and you're at fault, because every little thing in his life screams your fucking name and he despises it. Nowadays it's only him and Kuchel that seem to be on the same side.
"Her name is Kuchel."
He's so cynical that you might let out that salty tear -the one your left eye has tried so hard to push back- run down your cheek and stain your face. You can only endure so much refusal to see your baby's face. Her tiny voice in nowhere to be heard, her angelic face nowhere to be seen and you want to breakdown.
Why should Levi care, you're still puzzled as to why. The way you've treated him lately has been so brutal and he doesn't deserve it, you know he doesn't although your demons don't take anyone and anything into consideration. The small bleak of the door is symbolic to you, it's a gesture that he doesn't want to let you in, but he allows you to have a small leak of his grayscale paradise.
You shouldn't be in a place to beg with him since you are in the wrong. Kuchel isn't a doll that the two of you should play with, she's a lovely little girl with very real emotions who's trying to comprehend yours and Levi's bullshit. Your bullshit.
If Levi had it his way, you knew he'd keep Kuchel as far from you as he could and Kuchel would agree without a second thought.
Between his loud growls and your sobbing imitations you manage to wake Kuchel up for her peaceful slumber. Her little raven head peaks from the corner of the leather couch, hair sleek despite her sleeping position. It makes you groan how much she looks like him at every aspect of her life, personality and appearance alike. It is as if he had birthed her out of his womb, not you.
Maybe that is part of the reason you feel so strained away.
Or maybe it iss her unforgiving gaze that is identical to her father's.
She doesn't exactly sparkle when she sees you but you attribute that to her only having just woken up. A little fist rubs on her closed eye lid, sweeping a few eyelashes away. Levi makes sure to pick them up from her cheek when he takes her in his arms.
"Hey mommy!"
Her enthusiasm seems to grow on her as her eyes gradually open. You hadn't seen her face in a long, agonising week, her sight made you week to your knees.
"Hey baby, ready to go home?" You beam, pushing the tears away.
"No!" She pouts "Daddy will take me to Rapunzel's castle tomorrow!"
To her it was such a big deal. The promise to see her favorite princess and her prince, to fight the most evil Gothel with her squeeky little voice, it all excited her way too much. Although you're in no place to ruin their fun -Levi has the right to spend his time with Kuchel however he pleases- but you have to admit it hurts. A lot.
Wanting to go to Disneyland was your most vivid childhood dream. The scenery had always fascinated you, there were so many things you had always wanted to do. And Levi had promised, while he was driving you to the hospital once your water had broke, that he'd take you along with Kuckel.
You open your mouth to speak but words never really come out as you take your defeat in. Your heart's sinking, your knees want to give up on supporting your whole weight but just as you're about to collapse two familiar voices catch your attention.
"Oi runts, what's with the commotion?"
"Kenny! Be a little kinder, hey love!"
Your face suddenly drops lower than it's ever possible. In panic you wonder if staying still will guard you from the sights of Kenny and Kuchel, but you're absurdly reminded that could never be the case.
"Im here to pick Kou up." You whisper, ashamed to look any of the Ackermans in their eyes. They really had you cornered like a rat now.
"Ah, aren't you guys going to Disneyland this weekend?" Kuchel smiles as she greets you with eagerness.
At this point Levi is forced to open the door. It's only rude to keep his family standing in the hallway of his apartment complex because you're in the midst of having a small fight. You're not sure if you want to get in, though, he never allows you to.
"It's only me and Kuchel, mom. What made you think (y/n) was coming?"
Kenny huffs at the words, clicking his tongue in annoyance. "Trouble in paradise?" He rightfully earns a death glare from his sister. His legs shot up on the coffee table, catching Levi's attention. Your little girl mumbles something about the table turning dirty once again and Levi agrees, sparing her the tiniest of smugs.
"Look (y/n)," the ravenette's attention turns to you once again "I think you should go, were flying early tomorrow, I promise I'll make up for this whole week someway."
With gloom in your eyes you turn on your feet, ready to storm off of the hallway, and down to the elevator. If you're not wanted here then it's fine. With a kiss on little Kuchel's forehead, you tuck her strands behind her ear and whisper a soft goodnight to her. Levi's door closes too fast, too sharp, too humiliating to your person and at this, you can't help but finally breakdown. Your legs don't even drag you to the end of his hallway. With your back against the nearest wall you collapse, hit tears making their appearance on the corners of your eyes.
"Don't be a little bitch Levi, your brat is not a doll you two pass to eachother, in case ya didn't notice." Inside the apartment Kenny's words sting like a thousand yellowjackets launching onto Levi's skin, but only because the old man speaks the truth. He keeps the arrogant comment about the language that should be used around his daughter to himself, he's eager to listen what his mother had to say on the situation.
"I still don't even know the reason you're not together anymore."
He doesn't either. He can't bring himself to remember the exact reason you had fallen apart or why you had acted to cold towards him two months ago. In a haze, that's probably only for the worst he pops Kuchel into Kenny's uninviting arms and picks up a shift space with his matching.
If he's surprised by your vulnerable position on the hallway he doesn't ever show. His twitching eyebrows betrays the tint of worry in his expression but your trembling lip doesn't allow you to utter words just yet. It'd only when he swoops to your level, knees touching the cold tiles of the floor while his eyes look directly in your face. His calloused hand comes to bed your cheek in order to provide you some sort of comfort for your exhausted head and to wipe a salty tear with his thumb. He isn't ever really soft like that, but you come to believe it's been so long without him that you've forgotten about his compassionate side.
"How did I get so lucky to be loved by someone like you, and how was I so stupid to make us go through this?"
Your words are hurting you more than you want to admit to. It's unfair, how you want to come undone, how time and space cease to exist in the moment, how you don't feel like you can keep your heart's insides to yourself.
"Im so sorry I left that morning but I was so, so afraid." You continue.
It was no secret. That particular night you had shared two months ago, wrapped in his sheets like old times had sparked so many flames or reconciliation between the two of you. Be it that it was you who showed up at his door or him that took you in, be it that you did this because you missed every tiny aspect of him that it was overwhelming. You can't even pinpoint a reason as to why the two of you were so natural together. But you have thrown your only chance away. And he won't even let you in his home.
"I was too, beats me as to what I would have done if I was in your place." His voice is tinted in melancholy but paradoxically his steel orbs never once fall from yours. "But I've spent so much time being mad at you that I can't even remember why im feeling this way in the first place."
Your hand shoots to his chest, only to grab at his plain gray crewneck in an attempt to pull him closer, close enough that your foreheads collide. Onyx shaggy strands engulf your vision as your heavy breaths mingle and your thoughts are finally able to come through mouth.
"Who are you and what have you done to the Levi I know." A muffled giggle comes out of your cries and a blink-and-you'll-miss-it smug appears on Levi's face. It catches you by surprise, the way his face lots up from only just a second is an image you've tried you convince yourself to forget but your mind always finds a way to come back to it.
His hand comes to rest on your nape, trapping the hair underneath his grip as he leans to give a kiss to your forehead.
"We'll talk about everything with caramel poisoned apples with Kuchel alright?" Your eyes lit up at his statement, glistening tears threatening to fall once again from your eyes. "Tch, don't look at me like that of course I bought three tickets."
You miss the way his eyes widened as you engulf him tightly in your arms, closing the painful space that had been separating you up until a few seconds ago. Maybe you won't kiss just yet, this isn't a lust filled moment. It's a moment of putting a new brick at that wall of trust you had wrecked a few years ago. With that inevitable fate and love that brought you back to eachother no matter what and a lot of patience the two of you are going to make it work. No excuses this time.
Was this short, was this enough? I honestly don't know I enjoyed this one because for once I figured the ending as I went along. Reading your guys comments makes me feel really good so if you want to drop a comment (or a request) don't be shy. Thanks for reading, it means a lot💞

*Part 2 of Chocolate Impressions.  Read Part 1 HERE*
It was a picture perfect scene: a slumbering home, the only source of light coming from the moon as its rays filtered in through the windows.  Katashi was fast asleep in his bed, a stuffed owl held tightly in his arms, tucked in beneath a thick layer of blankets, the love of a father’s kiss still lingering on his forehead.  You had been pulled into Akaashi’s chest the minute the two of you had sank into the soft embrace of his mattress.  Soft words were shared about each other’s day, plans for tomorrow, plans for the distant future.  Short, breathy laughs in an attempt to stay quiet for Katashi’s sake were the only response to small quips and silly stories.  Warm kisses and cool wandering touches were soon replaced by quiet “I love you”s and the small sounds of Akaashi’s little snores against your skin.  Wrapped in his warm embrace, a final kiss was placed against his skin before allowing yourself to fall victim to sleep’s grasp.
The all too familiar tune singing loudly from Akaashi’s bedside table was the sour note that ended it all.  You jolted up, obviously more distraught by the sudden noise than your boyfriend was as he simply buried his head under his pillow with a quiet “No.”
“Keiji, your phone,” you mutter, shaking his shoulder, trying to keep him from falling back asleep.
“I don’t care.”
You reach over him to grab his phone from the table to check the caller ID.  Exactly who you expected.  “It’s the hospital.”
“I don’t care.”
“Keiji, come on.”  You pull the pillow away from him and a heavy groan is the only response as he takes the phone from your hand.
“I’m not on call,” he states plainly, avoiding any sort of pleasantries. You can hear the person on the other end of the line talking rapidly, multiple apologies being uttered in quick succession, and Akaashi can only sigh as he sits up and swings his legs off the edge of the bed.  “What’s the point in telling me that I’m off if you’re just going to wake me up anyway?  Where’s Ohashi?  Or Ichirou?”  He runs his hand through his bedridden curls and leans forward to rest his elbows on his knees.  “I have my son this week.  You know that. . . What?  It’s two in the morning.  I am not waking him up to drag him to a hospital for who knows how many hours. . . No.  No. It’s fine. I’ll figure something out.”  Akaashi slowly gets up from the bed, stumbling slightly as the fatigue hasn’t quite left his body yet.  “Yes.  I’m coming.  I’ll be there soon.”  He ends the call and tosses his phone on the bed, his form radiating pure annoyance.  “Absolutely ridiculous,” he grumbles, shoving his feet into a pair of slippers to save himself from the chilly hardwood floor.  “I guess I need to call Akiyo and see if she can take care of Katashi until I’m done.”
“Why?  It’s not like you’re going to be leaving him alone.”
“Are you sure?  You don’t have to do this.”
You laugh a little, getting up on your knees to wrap your arms around his neck.  “But, I want to.”
He nuzzled his face in your neck, letting his black curls tickle your skin.  “You’re going to be such a good step-mom to him someday.”
“I hope so.  But, come on.  You need to get ready.  You have lives to save.”  He offers a quiet whine as you pull away from him in order to put on your own slippers.  “I’ll get your clothes and get some coffee going, okay?”
Akaashi nods, slumping off to the bathroom to brush his teeth and attempt to wake himself up with a quick cold shower.  You padded softly towards the kitchen to start a pot of coffee before going to the laundry room to grab a fresh pair of scrubs from the dryer.  Back in the bedroom, you rummaged through his drawers to find him clean boxers and a pair of socks.
A swift knock to the bathroom door is all it takes for Akaashi to pull the door open.  He’s holding a towel around his waist as his other hand vigorously tries to towel dry his hair.  A soft grin takes over his features as you set his clothes down on the counter.  “Thank you, princess,” he says, placing a short kiss on your cheek.
“You’re welcome, Keij.  Coffee should be done in a few minutes.  Do you want to eat anything before you go?”
“Uh . . . Can you throw a granola bar or something in my bag?  I don’t know if I have time to stay and eat.”
You nod and leave him to get dressed in order to go pack his work bag with snacks for his drive.  You add a few granola bars and a package of fruit snacks to a Ziploc bag, rummaging through the drawers to find the sticky notes.  Snacks for my snacc lol love you - Y/N.  You put the sticky note in the bag to make sure it didn’t get lost before placing his snacks in his work bag.
You had just gotten his thermos out of the cabinet as Akaashi came sliding into the kitchen, sock-clad feet propelling him across the tiles.  Arms immediately wrap around your waist and a happy hum filters into your ear.  “I don’t think you’ve ever been this happy to go in to work. What's wrong with you?” you laugh, reaching up to play with his hair.
“I was just thinking.”
“About what?” You ask, filling the thermos with the freshly brewed coffee, adding a spoon and half of sugar, just how he likes it.
“About how much I like this.  Waking up with you.  Getting ready with you.  I’d be okay with always going in in the middle of the night if it meant more of this.”  He nuzzles his nose against your cheek, never wanting this moment to end.
“I think the lack of sleep is making you delirious.  You hate having to go in.”  You turn around in his embrace.  “But, I like this too.”  You place a soft kiss on his lips, eagerly returned by your boyfriend.  Pulling away, you place a hand on his chest.  “You really do need to go though, Keiji.”
“Yeah, I know.”  He begrudgingly lets you go so he can go put his shoes on.  You follow him to the door, his coffee and bag in your hands, his coat draped over your arm.  He stands up, taking his things from you and grabbing his keys from the bowl by the door.  “I should be back by the time you and Katashi wake up.  I’ll see you soon,” Akaashi says, a quick kiss to your forehead before he rushes out the door.
You turn to go back to bed after watching him back out of the driveway, flipping off any lights that were left on during the franticness of this early morning.  Between the thick blankets and what little warmth remained on Akaashi’s side of the bed, it didn’t take long for exhaustion to start to weigh your eyelids down.
Fresh sunlight and the sounds of something clattering to the ground brought you quickly from your deep slumber.  A sigh left your lips as your eyes fell to the empty spot on the bed next to you, sheets still crumpled from his early start.  You get out of bed, making your way to the kitchen only to stop completely in your tracks to fully take in the scene in front of you.
Katashi was perched on top of one of the dining room chairs so he could get a better look into the kitchen cabinets.  A frying pan had been tossed to the ground, likely the source of noise that had yanked you from sleep’s loving embrace.  “Katashi, what are you doing?” You ask slowly.
“Making pancakes,” he stated plainly as if the answer should’ve been obvious to you.
“Why?”
“Because Dad and I always have pancakes for breakfast.  But, he’s at work, so I was going to make them so they’d be ready when he got back.”  Katashi jumped down from the chair, the box of pancake mix in his hands.
You pick up the pan and bowl from the floor, setting them on the counter before taking the mix and putting it back in the cabinet.  Taking in his defeated expression, you give him a warm smile.  “Why don’t we make your dad some special pancakes?”
“Special pancakes?”
“Yeah.  Like, not from a box.  We’ll make them from scratch.”
“We can do that?”
“Yes,” you laugh, grabbing the needed ingredients.  “Do you like chocolate chips in yours?”
“Yeah, but Dad doesn’t.”
“I forgot he was weird and didn’t like chocolate chip pancakes.”  You scrunch up your features, making Katashi laugh.  “Okay, I need a scoop and a half of flour,” you say, handing the boy the measuring cup before busying yourself with measuring out the other dry ingredients.
Katashi dumps a heaping scoop in the bowl, creating puffs of flour, dusting his dark hair.  He giggles happily, staring at you with those same sleepy eyes that his father had.  You never took the time to really look at his son, a near perfect carbon copy of the man that you’d fallen in love with.  It almost looked like someone had plucked Akaashi from his baby photos and stuck him in front of you.  “Why are you staring at me?”
“You just look so much like your dad,” you sigh, turning back to finish adding ingredients to the batter.
“That’s what Gran says too.”  Katashi slides the bowl over to himself, taking the spoon and stirring everything together.  “She’s always showing me pictures of Dad when he was my age.  It’s so boring,” he whined.
“It does get a little old, doesn’t it?”
“You’ve seen them too?”
“So many times,” you laugh.  “The first time I ever met your gran, I thought we were going to be there all night.  She just kept pulling out photo album after photo album.  I didn’t think she was ever going to stop.”
“What’d you do?”
“Your dad was super embarrassed and wanted it to end just as much as I did.  I think he made some excuse about having work the next day when we all knew he didn’t.”
Katashi laughs, leaning into your side as you separate some batter out for Akaashi’s boring pancakes.  Your breath catches in your throat when you feel his arms wrap around your waist.  Your hand goes down to run your fingers through his curls, a small smile finding its home on your lips.  Any reservations you previously had about your relationship with Katashi and your role in his future were quickly erased.  It already felt like you had been a part of his life for years and you couldn’t have wished for a better start.  “Hey, hold out your hand,” you say, poking his cheek softly.
“What?  Why?”  He asks, looking up at you.
“Just do it.”
Katashi cautiously holds out the hand that wasn’t hugging your waist out towards you, bouncing in excitement as you shake some chocolate chips into his hand.  “Dad never lets me do this!”
“I won’t tell if you don’t.”  You wink down at his smiling face and pop a few of the chocolate pieces in your own mouth, dumping what’s left in the batter.
The sound of a car engine whirring and cutting out is the interruption to the perfect morning.  A loud beep as a door is locked has Katashi ripping away from you to greet his father at the door.  A tired smile complimented even more exhausted eyes as Akaashi knelt down to embrace his son.  “What smells so good?” You hear Akaashi ask as he stands up.
“Mom and I made pancakes!” Katashi exclaims, grabbing his dad’s hands and dragging him towards the kitchen.
“Mom?  Why is your mom here?”  Keiji stumbles into the kitchen behind his son, fully expecting to see his ex-wife sitting at the dining table with the glare that she always greeted him with nestled on her face.  But instead, he was greeted with your sleepy features as you set the table, divvying up steaming pancakes between the plates.  You had flour dusting the front of your t-shirt, a smile causing your eyes to crinkle when you looked up and saw him in the doorway.  His confusion settled into a softer expression as he stared at the perfect morning unfolding in front of him.  Absolutely beautiful.
“Huh?”  Katashi asks, looking up at Akaashi.  “Oh.  Sorry, I meant Y/N.”  The boy just shrugged, letting go of Akaashi and sitting down in front of one of the plates, digging into the pile of pancakes that you had placed onto his plate.
Akaashi set his things down and let you wrap your arms around him.  A short peck on the lips and sleepy smiles were exchanged.  “How was everything?” You ask, running a gentle thumb over the small purple bruises on his cheeks, a side effect of the long hours of his surgical mask digging into his face.
“Six hours in the OR for an emergency CABG," he sighed, his hands trailing along your sides.
"Six hours? Isn't that a little long?"
"Yeah.  It was a pretty nasty blockage, but it's bypassed and he should be back on his feet in a few days."
"And that's why you're the best," you say, a soft smile giving him any reassurance he could've possibly needed. "Are you hungry?"
"Starving. My 'snacks for my snacc' wore off quite a while ago," he teased, poking your sides, making you blush as you squirm away from him. He laughed, letting you pull him over to the table to join Katashi for pancakes.  "Alright, Katashi. Who's pancakes are better? Mine," Akaashi pauses, giving his son an exaggerated nod. "Or Y/N's?" He shakes his head, making a disgusted face which is quickly replaced by a look of hurt as you smack his thigh.
Katashi giggles, shoving the last bit of pancake in his mouth.  "Y/N's, for sure.  She should come over every time I'm here!" He finished his glass of orange juice and wiped his mouth on the sleeve of his shirt.  "May I be excused?"
"Depends. How do you spell 'because?'" Akaashi asks, not looking up from his plate.
Katashi groaned, slinking down in his chair. "That's not fair.  You know I'm not good at that one! Pick something else!"
"Okay. Spell 'choledocholithiasis.'" Akaashi smirks, now looking at the shock on his son's face.  "What? You wanted a different word!"
"Something I would know!"
"Your options are 'because' or 'choledocholithiasis.' I know what I'd pick," Akaashi shrugs, take a bite of his pancakes.
"Okay, Doc, we get it. You know how to spell coal-docter-antithesis," you say, rolling your eyes, Katashi laughing as you poke fun at his father.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny, Y/N.  Katashi, how about 'today?'"
"Ooh! I know that one! T-o-d-a-y!"
"Very good. You're excused."
"Yes!" Katashi jumps up from his seat, setting his plate in the sink. "Thank you for breakfast!" He gave you and Akaashi quick hugs before running off to his room.
"You make him spell to leave the table?"
Akaashi shrugs. "Not always. Sometimes he has to do an easy math problem.  It may seem a little . . . Much, but it helps him retain what he learns."
"Well, I think it's nice that you care so much about his school work," you say, rubbing his shoulder as you sit back in your chair.
"Thank you." He smiled, reaching for your hand.
His thumb runs over your knuckles, a shaky inhale catching your attention. "You tired?"
"Yeah. It's been a long morning,” he sighs, running his free hand through his messy hair.
"Go back to bed, Keiji.  You need some rest."
He nodded, stifling a yawn, but rather than getting up to heed your advice, Akaashi takes a deep breath, turning in his seat to face you. "But, not right now.  I want to talk to you about something."
Akaashi watches as your eyes widen slightly, feeling your hand start to shake a little as you’re suddenly caught off guard.  "Is this about Katashi liking my pancakes better? He just wanted-" The sound of his laughter cuts you off.
"No. This isn't about that.”  He takes a moment in an attempt to compose himself, a few stray chuckles escaping as he tries to continue. “I was thinking about this morning.  The whole time I was at work, it was all I could think about.  Well, not all I could think about, but you know what I mean. I just- maybe it's silly, but I genuinely enjoy having you there with me every time I get called in.  Before, I always had to do it all by myself, which is fine, of course. I don't expect you to get up and help me, but you do, and I want more of that and I want more of this,” he says, giving your hand a light squeeze.  “Seeing you this morning, I realized just how happy I am when you're here. And Katashi, he really likes you.  I don't know if you heard, but he called you 'mom' earlier and-" Akaashi pauses, the wide smile on his face saying everything for him. He was completely exhausted, the lack of sleep tearing down his normal quiet demeanor, letting all of his emotions flow from his mouth like a waterfall.
"I love you and I don't think I could ever say it enough for you to know just how much I do." He stopped again, patting his pockets with his hands. "Hang on." He gets up and starts rummaging through one of the kitchen drawers.  "I know I put it in here somewhere. . . When did I buy this?" He pauses, holding up a small little kitchen timer that looked like a penguin.  He just shrugs, setting it down next to the stove.  “Did I really put it all the way back there?”  He grumbles, leaning over to get a better look into the back of the drawer.  “Oh, wait.  There it is!  Come here,” he says, taking something and hiding it in his hand.  He's practically bouncing like a little kid on a sugar high as he pulls you to stand with him in the middle of the kitchen floor.  "This isn't exactly how I planned on doing this and I get the middle of my kitchen isn't the most romantic place, but-" Akaashi’s quick words are cut off by your lips pressed against his, hands holding his face, the feeling of your body melding perfectly against his.
"Keiji, it's okay," you whisper, a calm smile soothing his nerves.
"Thank you," he whispers; a second kiss, shorter, less intimate than the first, but still carrying the same amount of complete adoration for you.  Akaashi breaks away, kneeling down in front of you.  He holds a delicate ring in one hand, your hand with the other.  "I know this is probably not how you imagined this moment.  Honestly, it's not how I imagined it either, but," Akaashi takes a deep breath, meeting your eyes, the dark circles from lack of sleep more pronounced in the poor lighting.  "I want to fall asleep next to you and wake up with you, even if it is at stupid hours in the morning.  I want to come home to you making pancakes with our son. I want to talk about you to the others in the OR, but not just as my girlfriend, as my wife.  So, what I'm trying to say is that I love you and I love that in such a small amount of time, you've made my family become our family." He smiles, his sleepy eyes filled with nothing but love for you and everything the two of you had built together.
 "Will you marry me?"
