I'm a week late in noticing the email, but Kindle print/Amazon is increasing the print cost of paperbacks on June 20, 2023.

In fairness, they haven't done a lot of the serious price hiking other printers have done over the last few years -- Ingram Spark increased their print costs 3x since Phangs came out 2.5 years ago.

But it does mean I may need to adjust prices again or risk earning negative money on print costs in places like Australia and Canada.

I hate it here* 🙃

The Bonds That Bind Us

I started this book in late 2016/early 2017, and it has been through so many iterations before finally becoming what it is now.

When I first published this book in 2018, it was impulsive and unfinished; I was just so excited to have written a novel people might buy.

Now, I'm at a stage in life where this story (all three parts of it) have helped me heal so much of my own trauma and hurts, and I want it to do the same for others.

For everyone who doesn't have a family, who has found family, who are dealing with trauma and the shitty things life has to throw at us.

To the survivors and the ones who refused to give up. The ones who shouted fuck you to the people who told them they'd never amount to anything.

Hey, folks--running out the door for the day, but I wanted to share this bit of good news for those of you concerned about those AI-generated foraging books. In short, Amazon KDP is going to limit how many new books a given user can upload to their platform to three per day. Given how many titles even one person using AI can crank out in a day, this is a good move. It won't completely stop the flow of fake foraging books, but it's a step in the right direction.

More on this topic later, but for now I'm celebrating a small victory.

From the Terradox Beatiary, the Bushcat.

Terradox's third book is complete, but it won't see publication straight away. Found out, due to some issues with Google docs' autocorrect, there are errors in the first book of My Cute Vampir despite having gone through two editing processes. It's going through a third, and though the originals are still posted, they will be replaced with the corrected manuscripts soon. Up to chapter 40 out of 100 in the correction process.
