How the haikyuu boys comfort you when you’re crying! (gn!reader)

An absolute menace. If this man ever finds you crying, he will fight everyone and anyone within a six foot radius of you, regardless of it being their fault or not.

Kuroo is the kind of man that would smother you to the point where you are sick of him.

He’d be constantly checking in on you; making sure you’re eating right and staying hydrated (If he catches you munching on a bag of Cheetos and a half empty can of sprite, he’s cooking you a five course meal).

Don’t be surprised when his tall, lanky, body flails down the stairs in an attempt to make you laugh. When you ask him about it, he’ll tell you that his pain is worth your smile 😭 But then you’ll hit him for being a dumbass 🗿

His well-toned arms would wrap around your waist as he whispers sweet nothings into your ear; cute things like, “it’s okay baby, I know,” or “I’m here.”

Absolutely refuses to leave your side. You need to pee? He’s coming with you. There’s someone at the door? They can come back later. You need to go to work? No you don’t.

Once you finally calm down, he’ll ask you what was wrong with extreme caution. He tries not to push it—even though he desperately want to know what happened—so he’ll slyly slip in subtle questions every now and then to gain a better understanding of the situation.

In the end, he’ll ruin whatever soft moment you two had by making really bad puns and dad jokes.

If he’s in the middle of work and finds out you’re crying, this man is running out of wherever he is to come home to you. And when he’s overseas, he’s already hovering his thumb over the call button under your contact (which is so cutely named “doriyaki💔” based solely on the fact that you accidentally ate his when you two were dating. Thirteen years ago…in middle school. Mf never forgot.)

The type to bring you roses and takeout after work 💜

Sends you wholesome messages throughout the day, even if you’re in the same room:

He won’t typically cry when you’re sad but if he feels like it was his fault, he’s fucking crumbling. He can’t handle knowing he was the reason and would do anything to make up for it. Even if it means prancing around in that maid dress you bought him last year 🥲

He’ll offer you his weed pen and, if you’re lucky, you two will hot box in his car before hitting the nearest beach. The smell of the salty ocean air and indica filling your nose while Kuroo’s arms wrap around your waist is enough to make you forget about all your problems. And the way he looks into your eyes—dear god. The amount of love and adoration swirling in those dark pools of his has your heart hammering. How could you possibly cry when he looks at you like you’re the most precious thing in the world??

If you tell him you look ugly from all the crying, he’s cupping your face in his hands and telling you you’re the most beautiful person he’s ever seen and kissing you until you admit it.

Kuroo is a business man but he’s also incredibly family oriented and romantic. If he’s really busy and can’t immediately come to your aid, he’s decorating your entire living room later that night. The walls are decked out with blinking Christmas lights and the table littered with your favorite dishes, all ranging from sweet to spicy entrees and desserts. The first thing you notice isn’t the gorgeous decor of your otherwise plain apartment, it’s the dashingly handsome man kneeling in the doorway. In his gloved hands is a bouquet of flowers and in the other a glass of wine, smiling as if to say, “I’m sorry I wasn’t there before but I’m here now.”

His body has to be touching yours. Whether it be his hands on your neck or his legs on your thighs, there has got to be some sort of body heat between the two of you, not that you minded of course.

He’ll also make you a nice up of tea or coffee and offer you a warm blanket for cuddles. If you choose to take him up on his offer, he’s quick to kiss away your tears and burry your head in his chest. Nothing’s more important to him than these moments where he can be your comfort; your rock.

And as much as he hates seeing you cry…there’s something about that vulnerability that makes him feel one with you. Well, that and when he’s literally one with you but yk—

Just an overall sweetheart when he finds you crying to yourself.

“Listen to my heartbeat, love. You hear that? Yeah, that’s the sound of me having a heart attack—don’t ever scare me like that again...you okay now?”

Overall a solid 8.5/10, he’s an amazing cuddle buddy and doesn’t invalidate your feelings but he can’t help but tease you too. It’s nothing major but little condescending jokes here and there end up pissing you off and leaves him in the dog house 🥲

The kind of person to reenact the entire Romeo and Juliet play in the middle of the living room by HIMSELF—or with Iwaizumi—just to make you laugh.

Endless teasing. It doesn’t matter if you’re crying about something serious or something stupid, this dumbass would say the most out of pocket things at the WORST times, sometimes without meaning too.

Would let you braid his hair and do his makeup if you promised not to show anyone. But when he’s not looking, you’d sneakily send filtered pictures to the Argentina group chat.

His own insecurities fuel him. He puts himself down a lot, saying he doesn’t deserve someone like you and often spends his nights away from you crying about it. Instead of going out to celebrate his win with his teammates, he coupes himself up in his hotel room and makes silly little edits of you that no one will ever see. He understands how you feel, more than you ever would know, but he’d never openly confess it. Instead, he uses his insecurities to comfort you. No one could make you feel as warm as he does even if they tried.

Thinks it’s all his fault so he often apologizes on his behalf even if it has nothing to do with him.

This man lives in constant fear that one day you’ll just up and leave him—just like in his last relationship—so he lives everyday reminding you just how much he loves you.

Scatters random love letters and post-it notes around your shared apartment, his favorites being, “I love you my little milk-bread stealer” and “remember when we shared a kiss at the altar? me either, let’s make that memory together :)”

Sends you gifts from his travels. As cliché and romanticized as it is, he’ll write you post cards from wherever he is because sometimes a simple text isn’t enough.

Shyly suggests to take you out on a date to make you feel better. He feels the most vulnerable here so if you decide to tease him a little bit he’s pouting for the rest of the night. It’s 100% worth it though to see this gorgeous man’s plump lips puffed out as he brattily glares at you through his thick eyelashes 😩

If someone hurt you, Oikawa is immediately all over it. He isn’t extremely violent, nor has he ever been, but when it comes to you he’s willing to throw hands with just about anyone. However, if it’s a body builder three times his size, he’ll most likely call up Daichi and Iwaizumi to help him 😅

Checks in on you every so often. Since his job has him overseas a lot, he’s hardly home but he always makes the effort. He catches wind that you’re crying while he’s in Peru? He’s FaceTiming you almost immediately, no matter where he is or what he’s doing. Once he even FaceTimed you in the middle of a preliminary match.

(^We all know that oikawa was single because his ex-girlfriend said he spent too much time playing volleyball so I think he’s extra cautious about his time because he’s so scared that you—the absolute love of his life—is bound to leave him for the same reason. You wouldn’t, of course, but he’s mindful of it regardless 😭)

Hesitantly lays you on his lap, moving slowly to make sure you’re comfortable. If you make no effort to move away, he’ll lean into your touch and rub soothing circles on your shoulders:

Oikawa’s movements are silent. He’s gently pulling the collar of your oversized shirt passed your shoulders and gently pressing his lips against your neck. His kisses are soft, eagerly trying to cover every inch of your skin as you let out shaky sobs.

“It’s okay, beautiful,” he cooes, nuzzling his nose into your hair as his hands run up and down your sides, “I’m here for you. Everything will be alright now, I promise.”

Would definitely stick his tongue out cutely at you, threatening to kitten lick your tears away unless you stop crying. He probably wouldn’t do that because that’s kind of gross but it makes you laugh anyway.

Constant reassurance. He would tell you all the right things to make you feel loved and secure in his warm arms 💕

Posts “my s/o is sad so i am too :(” on his Instagram with a picture of you crying in his lap. Your face isn’t shown in the picture but the way you buried your face into his torso easily gave you away.

Depending on how bad you’re crying, Oikawa will either gently hold you in his arms with his fingers gliding through your hair or he’s silently listening to you rant. He might not have the answer to everything but he sure as hell is good at giving advice and listening. He’ll give you everything you need and more.

He even wears the cologne you love so that you can smell it when you cuddle him to sleep.

If he’s home pray to god for mercy 😭 he’s not letting you out of his sight, let alone out of his arms. Much like Kuroo, he has to be touching you. Doesn’t matter where or how, physical contact is an absolute must for you two (it’s his primary love language).

Let’s be honest, this cocky mother fucker would use this as an opportunity to turn you on. Like I said, he loves seeing you cry in the bedroom so once he sees your red eyes, tear-stained cheeks and smudged eyeliner, all blood rushes to his head. He gets so dizzy he physically can’t think of anything else. Once he feels that you’re starting to feel a little better, he’s jumping into action. His hands are snaking from your waist to the inside of your thighs, gently kneading your skin as his hot breath tickles the back of your neck.

“You look so fucking gorgeous when you cry, precious…I wanna see more. What do you say? Will you let me take care of you?”

If you’re wearing makeup that gets ruined after you’re crying, he’ll touch it up for you as best as he can and if you’re being honest it’s better than what you normally do.

Willingly gives you his milk bread in hopes of cheering you up

The kind of man to head to a bakery or flower shop before seeing you, getting you only the best things he could possibly find.

He’s a pretty good listener and would make connections to his own life to let you know that you’re not alone <3

Overall an 8/10. He knows when to be serious so when you’re crying about something important, you better believe he’s going to be all over it. There wouldn’t be an ounce of joking or teasing in his voice until he sees a smile on that beautiful face of yours <3 (but then right after he’s back to calling you a crybaby 🗿)

Immediately panics, no matter how big or small the issue is. He doesn’t even have the gall to hide it, he practically has a mental breakdown in the middle of the living room and asks you what happened and if he needs to get the cops involved. (Sure on the court Suga was the best at keeping everyone calm but what happens when he can’t be calm? All hell breaks loose 💀)

Once he gets over his initial shock, he’s quick to react. He’ll do subtle sweet things like running you a warm bath with aroma therapy or giving you massages with essential oils—anything to keep your mind and body at ease 💕

More times than not, during your bath, he’ll pull up a chair and start scrubbing shampoo into your hair. Even though he’s not a masseuse, he might’ve been in his past life with how perfect his technique is 😩

The kind of man that would make you homemade pastries when you’re sad. Just imagine crying your eyes out in a dimly lit bedroom and Suga comes in with a dopey smile on his face and a plate full of apple flavored cream puffs. What’s better than that??

Would give you one of his hoodies since he knows you love the smell of his vanilla and citrus shampoo.

Professionally sings the song, “under the sea,” from The Little Mermaid. He’ll encourage you to sing with him and if you do, Suga’s heart swells. Doesn’t matter if your voice cracks or if you can’t sing, he just loves the fact you’re trying. (If anyone gets the reference—you’re hot.)

Wouldn’t hesitate to call Daichi if he suspects someone has been harassing you in any way, shape or form:

Makes you rest in bed for days. You developed a small headache from the crying and as soon as you mentioned it to your fiancé, he was immediately treating you like a sick child incapable of taking care of themselves.

Constantly uses pet names like it’s a mantra, so much to the point where you think he might have forgotten your real name.

He’ll even hit up the pretty setter squad to support you. They’ll all make sure you are laughing and smiling in no time! However, if he notices a certain blonde setter getting a little too close to what’s rightfully his, he won’t hesitate to grab you by the waist and establish his boundaries:

“Ooh, a new outfit,” Atsumu hums, gently running his fingers past the light blue material of your shirt, making you jump slightly in surprise. He chuckles, tilting his head to the side and grins cheekily, “hehe sorry, honey. Ya just look real pretty.”

You turn around and take notice of his lingering gaze on your body, making you shake your head and offer him a goofy smile. You were used to the twins’ blatant advances toward you, knowing full well he enjoyed teasing you any chance he got—especially if he found out you were feeling down. In a strange way, it was his way of comforting you.

“Hey ‘sumu,” you laugh sheepishly, taking a small step back from the flirtatious setter’s advances only for him to close the gap again, “how’ve you been?”

“Better now. I finally get to see ya, precious.”

Strike one.

“Precious? Well that’s a new one,” you snort, crossing your arms and keeping your eyes level with his, “where’s your brother?”

Atsumu’s eyes wander from your eyes to your slightly exposed chest right down to your thighs.

Strike two.

“He’s in tha back gettin’ firewood. Wanna go ‘round and see what trouble we can find, sweetheart?”

Strike three.

Suga wastes no time in pushing past his old orange-haired kohai and stalking up to the two of you, having seen the entire interaction before it even began. The blonde setter feels a sudden rush of cold air cascade down his spine but chooses to ignore it, big mistake. Not even a second later, the source of his discomfort is standing right in front of him, grabbing you by the waist and quickly pressing his lips against yours. You jolt, feeling Suga’s tongue prod against your lips as he stares right at you, as if to say, “keep your eyes only on me.”

Yeah, Atsumu left soon after lmao (forgive me—idk how to write the way atsumu talks 😭😂)

Being as artistic and crafty as he is, he attempts to paint a portrait of you. Initially, he was saving it for your anniversary but once he sees the crocodile tears streaming down your face, he decides to give it to you early.

Magic hands. It doesn’t matter where this man touches you, if his hands are anywhere near your body, expect a massage that’ll have you drooling. There’s just something about his soft yet firm touch that makes you fold. It doesn’t help that he knows all the places that make you squirm either.

Would cover your face in cute stickers for no real reason at all. You don’t have kids but because of Koshi’s job as an elementary school teacher, he’ll always have at least a pocketful of cute stickers his kids give him.

Gently pokes you on the side of your stomach, chanting, “negativity begone!”

Says things to himself as if you aren’t in the room. He’ll up and say, “I really wish that my amazing partner was happy! What could I, their oh-so-amazing fiancé, do in this a dire situation!” Which usually ends up with you giggling into his chest.

Makes you tea, coffee, or hot cocoa depending on your preference but is always so extra about it. Your tea would have honey and lemon served with a lemon bar, your coffee would have latte art severed with a slice of toffee cake and your hot cocoa would have marshmallows served with a s’more 💕

Just lays with you until you decide to speak. He’s really considerate of other people’s feelings, especially yours, so he would embrace you in his arms and waits until you’re ready to talk.

Gets his entire elementary class to do something for you. The next day after you’re crying, he’ll tell his kids that you’re not feeling well so he wants them to make something nice for you during arts and crafts time. Expect plenty of cute little hand-drawn cards, necklaces, and macaroni art.

Constant videos of him interacting with the kids. He’ll be dancing with one of the girls, playing catch with one of the boys or even singing with the whole class. It’s the cutest thing ever to see him messing around with them 😭

Just a super considerate sweetheart who holds you on a pedestal.

As soon as Hajime sees your tears it’s all over. He immediately jumps to the conclusion that someone hurt you and unless you tell him otherwise, he’s planning someone’s murder checking in with all your friends and family to see if they know anything.

As soon as he gets an understanding of the situation he approaches you more sensitively, gently asking you what’s wrong while he wipes your tears away. The last thing he’d want to do is make you feel worse of course.

The kind of comforter that’ll load you into his pick up truck and take you out on a late-night drive through the city.

He’ll come home from work ready for a night of classical music and body oil. As much as he refuses to admit it, he loves these moments. The evenings he gets to spend with you, stripped of all clothing, completely and utterly bare to him just so he can take care of you makes him feel whole. The feeling the warmth of your body under his touch gives him reassurance that you’re okay so as much as it helps you it also helps him. (It’s a completely sexless endeavor full of non-sexual love. He’s gently rubbing oil into your tense muscles, just wanting to make you feel better—he’d never take advantage of your vulnerability.)

Hajime’s day job as an athletic trainer requires him to know a lot about the body so the massages he gives you are absolutely mouth watering 😩 (sometimes you even pretend you’re sad just to get a full body massage)

When you look at him with those big, gorgeous, doe eyes of yours—brimmed with tears nonetheless—he swoons. He thinks you’re such a pretty crier and would tell you that without hesitation.

Randomly tapes passive aggressive letters to your bathroom mirror 😭

“Stop crying, you look like a gremlin. Love you ♡”

“Take a shower stinky, you’ve been in bed for days.”

“Idc if you’re sad, you better not watch 90 day fiancé without me.”

^and once he’s done being a little shit 🙄 he’s forcing you to cuddle him on the couch like the huge softie he is 💕

Shyly offers to cook you dinner. The adorable little blush on his tan cheeks as he shuffles into the kitchen wearing nothing but his boxers and a “kiss the cook” apron leaves little to imagination. At that point, you’re hardly crying anymore, all you can think about is how fast you can get him off under those pretty pink ruffles.

Playfully picks fights with you. You’ll have a small stain on your shirt that Hajime notices and he’s teasing you about it 😭 like you’re crying and he’s just like “babe…did you have mochi without me? How could you?” And you’re just there like 🧍‍♀️

His arms. That’s it. That’s your comfort.

Rubs the upper parts of your cheeks with his thumbs, removing the tears from your face before they fall. He hates seeing you cry, it makes him feel like he failed to protect you.

The kind of man that’ll play the song you two danced to at your wedding. The both of you gently swaying to the music as your daughter, Asaka, comes running in, doing her own little dance with her little bunny rabbit 😭

Like Tooru, Hajime will randomly send you selfies throughout the day. Most of them are either really out of focus or just plain dorky but they make you smile nonetheless. (A lot of them are just him flexing in the mirror at the gym)

Gives you his Godzilla™ hoodie then gets mad at you for wetting it 🗿

Takes your daughter out of school early to surprise you at work.

Asks Oikawa to play a few practice matches with you when he’s in town, knowing how much you enjoyed watching the Argentinian play:

“Iwaizumi,” the brown-haired setter rushes off to the side of the court, catching you and your husband laughing at something by the bleachers. It was like high school all over again—the image of young Hajime trying to pick you up in the gym suddenly flashed in his mind.

Both you and Hajime turn.

“Yes, ‘kawa?”

“What’s up, shittykawa?”

Two completely different responses.

“Oh,” Oikawa reels back in embarrassment, cheeks glowing red as his eyes flickered back and forth between you and your husband, “I keep forgetting you two have the same last name. Still haven’t gotten used to it.”

You both share a quick, knowing glance, before bursting out into fits of laughter. That’s right, you remembered, watching Hajime strike up a conversation with his best friend with a look akin to annoyance, you were an Iwaizumi. The realization almost made you start crying again. Almost.

If you have long hair, Hajime is using one of your daughter’s hair ties and putting your hair up in a ponytail so your tears won’t stick to your bangs.

Constantly poking your cheeks. He just loves the feeling of your soft skin in his hands so he’ll knead at the small squish in between his palms until you’re muffling your words. He does this a lot when you’re crying so you stop talking and breathe.

Loads up animal crossing on your matching Nintendo Switches (you both have the limited edition green and blue one) and gives you cute things he finds around his island like white cosmos and blue sea shells 😭 he’s also the kind of person that would spend all day setting up a ocean-side cafe in game to surprise you on a little animal crossing date 🥺💕

^(idk man, the idea of seeing hajime spending hours perfecting the ideal picnic spot has my heart all warm and shit. For reference, your date spots would look something like this 😭😭)

Practically force feeds you if he suspects you haven’t been eating well.

Tickles you 😭 this man would be a menace if he finds you crying. He’s pulling out the “tickle monster” card and chasing your ass around the house until he’s got you trapped underneath him. Your daughter thinks it’s a game and joins him 🗿 the little traitor—

The kind of man who’ll prioritize you above all else. Everything that isn’t you become irrelevant and the only thing on his mind is how he could possibly make you feel better.

“Hey hon, want me to take the day off? We can go to that amusement park you and Asa are always talkin’ about.”

11/10. Hajime just has a comforting aura around him that makes you instantly feel at home. The combination of his biceps wrapped around your waist, his natural scent of oak, and the gentle rain pattering against the hard-panned window is all too perfect 💜

when you say fics i can't live without other people reading, Nothing Revealed In A Common Crisis by my wonderful and incredibly talented best friend @imagine-that-100 is the first to come to my mind! An absolute masterpiece of a fic, alex turner x reader x matty healy love triangle that's just so well written and thought out that it makes me scream. I'm entirely obsessed with it and it truly is my roman empire LOL! (it also introduced me to the 1975 so we love it!)

make sure to check out the rest of N's work fr, all of her series are amazing and if you want one shots, Will We Talk is insanely good and I'm eager for her to post part 3 and All Is On My Side is everything to me as well!

of course, i have to add Aphasia by another one of my besties @red---moon 'cause that fic is just so damn good. i fell in love with a Ross fic i read the other day by @butyou-callmewhenyourebored and i think it deserves more attention. i fully was almost crying by the end of it, it was so sweet and well written!!!

now if you need filthy smut to read, i will definitely be sending you over to @lottiecrabie! she is the absolute queen of smut and everything she has written has left me jaw dropped and gasping for air lollllll!!! (such a shame she's leaving but she will never be forgotten)

The Tedependent Masterpost

Essentially my deluded ramblings as to why I’m a Tedependent truther 😊

DISCLAIMER: I love TL and no matter what direction the writers take S3 in I will be on board! This is just a theory from some lil' details I noticed 😊Also so that if I turn out to be right I can say I told you so :o but if I’m wrong uhhhh.. you never saw this

Some various important notes before we get into it:

Firstly, I think it’s pretty likely that sexuality will come up in some form in S3. It fits in really well with the previous themes of the show (masculinity, mental health, relationships with fathers etc). TL has tackled some other issues such as the portrayal of mental health in sport but they haven’t mentioned sexuality yet despite it being a big topic (there’s only 1 out gay footballer… which is INSANE.. there’s a LOT of homophobia in football). So it makes a lot of sense for this to come up during S3. A lot of people have also theorized that Colin is gay and although I’m not going to go into that now I think it’s pretty likely and considering that Colin was one of Nate’s main “victims” (for want of a better word) it’s also likely that he’ll be more prominent in S3, perhaps even being a big part of Nate’s comeuppance. There’s also various rumours of Trent (and some say Colin too?) being seen filming at a gay nightclub in Amsterdam…

Here's an excerpt from an article interviewing Cristo Fernández, the actor who plays Dani Rojas, about the themes of season 3:

Interesting stuff....

In terms of whether or not Ted will have a romantic relationship in S3 I think it’s pretty likely through the “rom-communism” speech and how generally wholesome the show is that Ted will end up in a relationship at the end- especially as it would be very satisfying for Ted to start the show in a bad relationship and end it in a healthy one. Also the teaser dropping on Valentines is very…… interesting. Despite this it could be argued that Ted has to go through more personal growth before he’s ready to be in a long term relationship and with Ted most likely leaving for Kansas at the end of S3 he might not be in a good position to get into a new relationship. This is probably one of the biggest holes in this theory- whether Ted is ready for a relationship in S3. If he is though, I can think of someone who would be a very good option…

Before we talk about Trent though (yes there still is more to address) we need to address the other main option- Rebecca. I think it’s pretty unlikely that Ted will end up with Rebecca. Firstly it’s very cliché and the writers know that people expect Ted and Rebecca to end up together. They teased it in S2 before the Sam bantr reveal which felt to me like the writers saying that they know it’s what people expect but that they’re choosing not to go that direction. Speaking of Sam, although he and Rebecca technically ended S2 not together it’s very clear that that arc is not over yet and that’s still something that has to be dealt with in S3. Ted and Rebecca’s relationship is an incredibly valuable representation of close friendships/platonic relationships between men and women, and I think the writers understand this too:

To be clear, I don’t have any problem with people shipping Tedbecca! I actually think it can be quite a cute ship, I just don’t think it’s likely to happen in canon.

Now onto the fun bit! All the evidence!

I don’t think it’s in question that Trent is gay so I’m not really going to cover that here apart from saying that he leaves the pub with a man he’s seemingly on a date with an if you’re still not sold that he’s gay… just uh…. Just look at him..

First some quickfire evidence:

Ted calls Trent “baby”! s2 ep3 3 mins in! crazy stuff

S2 ep1 at about 6:20 Ted says “Trent Crimm, bringin’ that heat”- a reference to the very spicy Indian food they ate together

They speak more often than we see off-screen- we have the iconic “love our chats!” line implying that they have conversations outside of the show and Ted makes Trent’s daughter biscuits (s1 ep9 27:40), showing that he’s not only met Trent’s daughter before but is meeting her again soon to give her the biscuits

Slightly less quickfire evidence:

There’s a lot of similarities between Trent and Rebecca- this post details some of them, but there’s also similarities in lines- in s1 ep3 Ted says to Trent “watch your back Gay Talese there’s a new iconic profile about to be typed up by one Trent Crimm” then on s1 ep9 Ted says to Rebecca “watch your back Kate Moss there’s a new bad girl on the British modelling scene”. They also have very similar hair (look at the first two gifs of the above post), and the only two people Ted makes biscuits for on the show are Rebecca and Trent’s daughter. I believe this is a way of twisting the expectation that Rebecca and Ted are going to end up together to have Ted end up with someone similar, but not who people expect.

Some silly little scene analysis:

The first scene I’ll be talking about is s2, ep7, at about 31 minutes in. Before I go into depth about the details of this scene I’d suggest you rewatch it first, but I couldn’t find a clip of it on Youtube so just go to that timestamp. The first line in this scene is very strange- it’s Mae saying “If music be the food of love play on, give me excess of it”. This line seems completely pointless- it’s not really a joke, nor does it serve to further the plot or develop Mae’s character. But as I will repeat many times and cannot emphasise enough- lines in this show don’t get used lightly. This line is actually the opening line to Shakespeare’s most famous romantic comedy, Twelfth Night. And this line is used at the beginning of a scene with Ted and Trent when there’s seemingly NO REASON for it…. (I’m not going to get into the Shakespeare analysis now but if you want me to I will make a post about it :D) We then see Trent saying goodbye to a man he’s on a date with- who has a moustache, no less. And THEN he says “of all the pub joints” which is a reference to the line “of all the gin joints” from the film Casablanca- and (mild spoilers for 3) the episode title of ep 8 is “We’ll never have Paris”, another reference to Casablanca. They end off this scene with Trent saying "Love our chats!". This line is reminiscent of when Ted asked Trent "What do you love?" in the Indian restaurant in s1 ep3, and also implies that they are closer than the show makes them seem.

Another very suspicious moment came at end of s2 ep12, which is the VERY LAST scene with Ted in the whole of S2. It’s also sandwiched in between the scenes about the other 2 major romantic relationships in the show- we get Sam and Rebecca, then Trent and Ted, then Roy and Keeley… Which in my opinion is a deliberate way of laying out these scenes to imply more about Trent and Ted’s relationship. Before I go on to talk about it here’s the clip for context: https://youtu.be/fF3A7XSk2HU (it’s pretty low quality so if you want to you can watch the clip at 44mins into s2 ep12). I think Trent waiting outside for Ted speaks for itself, but then there’s the line about the bike accident, where we learn that Trent doesn’t know how to ride a bike. Lines in this show are rarely used lightly and this is likely suggesting that we’ll get a scene of Trent learning how to ride a bike (potentially in Amsterdam?!). We then learn that Trent - and now I want you to listen closely on this part- has thrown away his entire career in journalism and his chance to ever work in journalism again by telling his boss that he revealed a source. And why did he do this? For Ted (...mostly. he has other reasons for leaving as well but...). Not only is this literally insane but by having Trent quit his job the writers have removed the only major barrier to Trent and Ted being in a relationship- whereas previously this might’ve been unethical because Trent was a journalist covering Richmond, that’s now no longer an issue. And then Trent has locked his keys in the car- which shows either how flustered he was when waiting to see Ted or could be implying that he’s here to stay.

Sorry for low quality but look at them. That is a normal way for two straight lads to look at another guy right?

Conclusion:

Some would say that I'm mad. I'd argue that if you look at the evidence there's a solid chance that Tedtrent could happen in Season 3- the sneaky little references to Casablanca and Shakespeare as well as literally the whole of their last scene together sold me the most tbh. It's hardly debatable that Trent has a crush on Ted, but I believe (hehe) that it could be reciprocal- there's not much evidence that Ted is bisexual, (references to queen and the frequent appearance of their songs as well as the choice of NSync's song "Bye bye bye" which is frequently used on the internet to mean "Bi bi bi") but then again, there's not much evidence that he's not. I feel like I could go on and I've definitely missed some things but this post is already far too long (1.6k words) and I need to stop!

I’d be interested to hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions, and feel free to drop a comment telling me how deluded I am because in all honestly I probably am…. Or am I………….. guess we’ll find out in season 3!

My favorite games + Why i love them

Mario:I grew up playing this franchise with my favorite cousin so i have literally countless good memories of it!!!It's just a super wholesome and fun and interesting series and i love everything about it so much!Also Daisy was my fave as a kid but now it's Rosalina which i think symbolizes my transition from tomboy to femme transmasc /lh

Sally Face:So underrated yet so good!!!An excellent mix between dark and positive(With my rewrite of episode five that is😭)and one of the few brand's of horror i can stomach!The cast,artstyle,story and lore are all an absolute delight and i really hope we actually get that sequel one day!Also SAL I HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU *gets wacked by Travis for being gay*

Animal Crossing:Couldn't leave this one out,it's absolutely legendary to me!!I love,love,LOVE that i get to be a cute lil token human that befriends all these incredibly friend shaped animals and be creative by making stuff and decorating and having lowstakes adventures!It's just absolutely made for the summer(me,my name is Summer)!!

Hades:Ah,greek mythology my old beloved.As a Pjo kid with Percy as their all time fave,i instantly fell in love with this world and especially Zagreus(///*Looks at the self-insert pastel goth guygirl i made to ship with him*).Very cool,very original,very bisexual and trans,my tism is very in awe of it

Night in the Woods:The thing that drew me in the most was Mae-I found this one at the beginning of a very rough time in my life and i was very similar to Mae so she's incredibly important to me.On a lighter note though,this game's so fucking funny😭I was laughing every other scene and it has great messages,cool plots,equally cool mechanisms and banger after banger songs!!Deserves all the love☺

Butterfly Soup:It's so fucking cute!!!!Extremely adorable AND hilarious AND relatable to me as a bi nonbinary afrolatina AND accurate rep!!Also the songs are so soothing and Diya and Min are one of the best couple's out there💞💙

Bonus-The Polly Pocket games:I'd say this one is a joke but.....Nah,it's not JFJEHFHFH.They're one of my childhood comfort's and i'm so glad i found a website that has them💖Fun fact,i had the purple Polly Pocket as a kid(not a doll,the compact things)!!

Tsurune Character Songs Album Review

We had a lot of thoughts about these songs while working with the lyrics, so we decided to do a mini album review! Please enjoy listening to each songs as we reflect on the lyrics and composition~

Up Stairs

Mod Yumi: A very gentle, comforting song, as expected from a Minato/Seiya duet. The composers did an excellent job capturing the feeling of nostalgia; this somehow feels like a song I've known and loved for years. The lyrics are perfect--I love the references to the bridge scene from s1 ep10. The line "I had a place where my heart could relax" is so precious <3 Overall, I don't think it's the strongest song on the album, but it's definitely one of my top faves!

Mod Optimus Prime: A heartfelt way to start off the album! It's very sweet and mellow, which of course really fits the fact that, y'know, the song is about Minato and Seiya's relationship! It's more or less just a straight callback to all of season one, but it's really touching how (both literally and figuratively) they come together at the end there.

Crossover

Mod Yumi: This song is so excessively dramatic and I kinda love it?? It does NOT sound like a song that ties into a soothing, chill slice of life archery anime and I am here for it. But I'm also weak for synth horns; give me a cheesy overexuberant fake brass section and I'm sold. Bonus points for all of the archery references and unnecessarily homoerotic lyrics. (And special shoutout to Mod Optimus Prime, our resident FukuJun stan, for helping me with the color codes because I was completely lost lmao)

Mod Optimus Prime: Probably the character duo song with the most...attitude to it? And sass, which of course, fits these two incredibly troublesome boys. To me, it's almost like the two are having a back-and-forth with each other while also brazenly admitting to each other just how tangled up they are—admittedly a reoccurring theme for the duet songs, but that doesn't make it any less cute, I think!

Ari no Mama de

Mod Yumi: Very cute and wholesome, doesn't really do it for me in terms of composition though. I do think this is the most well-acted song on the album. Having heard both of these seiyuu sing as other characters (notably Suzuki Ryouta as Bisco from Sabikui Bisco and Yano Shougo as Mafuyu from Given), I was blown away by how different they both managed to sound! Changing your voice to that extent while singing is not an easy thing to do. I was also tickled by the fact that they both noticeably sang less well than I know they're both capable of singing, because it suited the characters better to do so. Listening to this song, you wouldn't think either of these singers are particularly talented, but that fact is proof in and of itself that they ARE talented. Mad respect for the skill displayed here!

Mod Optimus Prime: Unsurprisingly, sunshine boy Ryouhei and the other local cheery boy have an easygoing and slow duet! I can't really say too much aside from the fact that the lyrics are both just really cute and earnest—you can see Ryouhei's influence here, haha.

Growing Up

Mod Yumi: Very cute, very catchy! I enjoy this song a lot. As a side note, I find it interesting that besides Minato, Nanao is the only character to be featured in two songs. One of the things I like about Nanao is that he's characterized mainly through his relationships with other characters. Sometimes when we see this happening it's more to do with lazy character writing (and lbr, it usually happens with female characters). But in this case, it actually builds our understanding of the character, rather than just casting him into the side character role of 'only here to develop the MCs'. To me it's always felt like he's the most put-together of the team, watching over everyone else and giving them a nudge in the right direction, while blending in so effortlessly they don't suspect a thing, like the social chameleon he is. Oops, this just turned into me gushing about Tsurune character writing lol. The song's nice idk what else to tell ya

Mod Optimus Prime: Also yet another honest song—a rare thing for Kacchan! It's obviously about Kaito and Nanao's close friendship and the further development during season two, so it's fitting we also get to see more of Nanao's (somewhat hidden) stubborn side here. Not to meme here, but really shows how their relationship fits the, "the more things change, the more things stay the same," aka them supporting ("protecting") each other through thick and thin.

Gekkou

Mod Yumi: I'm not the biggest fan of the composition of this song. I can't put my finger on why, but the main melody isn't working for me (and doesn't work great for Asashin's voice either tbh). That said, the backing track lives rent free in my head, I'm OBSESSED. And I love the dreamy feel of the lyrics! Whereas the others feel more like a dialogue between the singers, this one feels like a poem. The ethereal quality of the music and the lyrics draws me back to Masa-san's introduction, when he was a cryptid/ghost (lmao) appearing in the dead of night to guide Minato back to archery

Mod Optimus Prime: I've only heard Asanuma Shintarou (Masaki's VA) sing in a higher register, so this was both surprising and pleasant—it's quite soothing to hear! It's also fitting that the only Real Adult™️ with bounds of experience compared to these young'uns gets a really poetic and dramatic song with, of course, lots of moon references.

Kyoumei

Mod Yumi: THIS IS THE BEST ONE. This song is a legit bop omg. Leave it to luck life to give us a character song that exceeds typical character songs! I also love the meaning of the lyrics; it almost feels like a new angle on the Shuu/Minato relationship in a way? Of course we know their history and their affectionate rivalry, but we don't really see either of them putting into words how they feel about each other (especially Shuu-- I had to laugh at the line "we didn't need mundane words"; like no dude we could actually use a few more words from you, given your track record of communicating approximately 7% of your thoughts smh). This song puts into words how much they mean to each other and how, despite their complicated history and rivalry, they still care about each other.

Mod Optimus Prime: Luck Life actually composed this song, which really shows in the style (that catchy guitar, anyone?)! I adore the constant references to "sounds"—while a bit cheesy and on those nose, of course, it fits these two to a T and calls back to that season one finale. Again, not that any of the songs are really subtle, but "We might be apart, but I believe we'll someday return / So we didn't need mundane words" really just sums up their unique friendship/rivalry. Also, love how the two only sing together at the end: really fits with the song's whole message/theme about the two being separated, but eventually reuniting! How sweet.

The thought of someone pointedly focusing alll their attention into making you fold, teasing you about how ticklish you are, encouraging you to let your laughter out—people being tickled and their reactions might be cute but you know what’s even cuter? Being a ler. Wanting to be the reason people let their guard down, just to watch them become goofy and unhinged??? You want to watch people LAUGH?!? ADORABLE.

That being said! Here is a lil list of different ler archetypes ! Important to note that this in no way denotes that all people that tickle other people fit wholly in these categories!! This is just a lighthearted little collection of tropes I’ve noticed in different tickle situations, focusing on the tickler side!

Meticulous Ler

-they have all damn day to explore different tactics on every likely (sides, armpits, feet, etc;) and unlikely (specific places on the rib cage, palms, ears, collarbone,etc;) spots.

-because of that, they’ll be the most likely to find your ticklish spots you didn’t even know you had

-“How ‘bout…this spot?!? No? Hm..I swore I saw you blush when I tickled right here!”

-Is extremely determined and too too comfortable with destroying people with teases from the outside in seriously these lers are EVIL.

-“Did I hear…a LAUGH?!?” Right when I got to…this spot?!?”

-If they notice something produces a stronger reaction, they are HONING in on it.

-DANGEROUS. They are PATIENT, and are not afraid to try anything. (Within boundaries of course)

-Their thought process is if one spot/method doesn’t work, there’s another one that will! And they’re not shy to try and find it.

Cheeky/Teasy Ler

-Is relentlessly vocal and teasy, observant as HELL.

-ALso evil and incredibly determined, just in getting you to fluster yourself more than physically seeking out each spot

-They KNOW when someone is ticklish, and will not resist the urge to comment on it

-In any future scenario where you’re having a playful spat with someone, or if a ‘fight’ is brought up, this person will comment “Y/n’s ticklish!”

-They are the ones spilling the beans that you’re ticklish to other people, these are the encouragers which honestly feels more flustering a lot of times 😖

-When they DO physically attack, it’s often by surprise, orrrr when they know that their words will be the finishing move on totally melting the lee (ex: they often play the role of someone called in to help tickle a lee, high confidence scenarios where they KNOW where the lee is ticklish)

-Will constantly threaten to tickle you, or they flat out WILL, in public, at home, in front of other friends—they will be sure to make embarrassing and flustering you their first target.

Elder Ler

-Ok hear me out, I don’t usually split things like this into age categories, but this is close to my heart as it seems like this category of tickles come from grandmother/grandfather aged people that you know only have the most playful, pure intentions, and it’s just always so familial and comforting

-Doesn’t need to be an older person, but that’s kind of what I had in mind with all the encounters I’ve had with these types.

-Like when an older person clutches onto you when they laugh and if they do it on your side it TICKLES and that almost certainly makes them poke or squeeze you one more time, which is so wholesome but so FLUSTERING GRAH

-Or the spidering across the back of your neck/shoulders that almost always certainly makes me shiver and cringe into myself oh my goodness

-Cheer-up pokes.

-When they check in on you and just seem to notice when you’re feeling off and they genuinely care, chefs kiss

-They are just so fun and so kind. Oh my god im just like, missing a warm grandma figure tf

Goofy Ler

-Lord have mercy on you if you’re already a person who laughs easily. These lers will use every overexaggerated, over-the-top movement/noise they can just to get you to preemptively giggle before they even tickle you.

-These people just want to see you laughing, and are completely willing to make a fool of themselves to do so.

-Think big claw hands, monster walks, declarations of the tickle monsters arrival, baby talk teases, raspberries, evil villain laughing, etc;

-Are mischievous, will be the kind to tase your sides and quickly bolt away before you realize it’s them

-“TICKLETICKLETICKLE” in the silliest falsetto voice

Sadistic Ler

-Their main goal is ultimately to see how much you can take before completely losing it

-Would never actually break your boundaries on purpose, but if you’re ok with it, will get pretty damn close to making you cry and beg for them to stop

-On the hunt for the places that produce the most uncontrollable reactions/wildest laughs

-Are the kind to tickle for interrogation purposes/punishment/getting someone to admit something.

-Will be ridiculously coy+crafty, and say things like “aww just wait until I ACTUALLY start tickling you!” “Oh, did you think I was done?? You’re not going ANYWHERE” “What was that? Tickle you more? Ok!!”

-Thrive on entrenching the person they’re tickling in complete hysteria, their only escape being the help of another person or the mercy of this ler

-Will target bad spots in such an intense way the lee will be rendered too tickly and weak with laughter to even fight back

BIG tuesday

i skipped last tuesday because i was working on a take-home exam and simply did not have the time nor the inclination, so: beefy tuesdaypost today!

listening: my brother recommended 'dead magic' by anna von hausswolff and boy what an album. gothic, punchy, very vibey. the kind of album you let wash over you like an ocean wave.

pulled 'mostly kosher' from my to-listen list. fun, funky, very jewish, good vibes. ikh hob dikh tsufil lib

i've continued to mainline borodin symphonies 1 & 2. idk they're just hitting right.

and the new pieces for the orchestra i'm in - very french this time round: debussy's fêtes: kinda spooky and ominous and also fluid in a fun way! lots of buildup that seems to resolve into nothingness. horn parts for this are pretty good, not too difficult but are definitely Heard. chabrier's españa: really bumpin horn parts. fun bouncy motifs. what's not to like.

pocasting-wise, i'm up to partizan 38. 10 episodes left!!! the home stretch!!!!! it's so good but things are definitely amping up in the end-of-fatt-season way.

i've also listened to my friend b's gotham tv show podcast 'jim gordon must die'. very good and funny. i laughed out loud at some of the episode 3 descriptions.

reading: i was stuck in Bad Airport Times this past saturday (flight delayed 3 hours, then sat for an hour on the tarmac, arrived at 10pm when i was originally supposed to arrive at like 630) so i blasted through all ~150k words of 'freefall' by Kunoichi21 and xoTsundoku. bog-standard mafia au, but with a fun little circus arts twist; fun background fengqing; i do not like that they made beefleaf wholesome. give me my toxic beefleaf god damn it. but otherwise it was a fun read, sappy romcom-style. the fic itself isn't quite done but it's in endgame. the author notes have peak fanfic culture energy of "hey guys! sorry i didn't update, i started nursing school and my dad died" bro .... ;___; goddamn. please take care of urselves

watching: we are almost done with kill la kill! last two eps!!! so tonight we're doing that and also watching last week's dunmeshi together.

friend and i finished comrade detective. incredible. no notes. so funny. we started 'endeavour' which is a detective morse prequel thing and goddd the british-isms, and also started serial experiments lain. i don't know what i was expecting but god it was not this. i literally thought this was a cute fun hacker mystery show in the energy of cowboy bebop. it is Not That. not even close. it's good though i'm enjoying it. currently staggering through life going uhhhhh like lain does in the first few eps.

playing: fallow. i am re-installing disco elysium on my computer though. ive been wondering if i should try to keep going on the save file from last year or if i should just start over because i barely got in there at all.

making: many things. pottery!! some good some not as good.

so this design came out SO nice but the underglaze is so gd streaky! i hate it !!! i don't think it's really fixable either, i tried the hairspray trick to put new solid glaze over top the inside so at least that would look less like shit but i could not get it to work. maybe sanding it down? idk. it's ugly. it was supposed to be a bright teal but the woman who runs the studio mixed the batch up wrong so it's like. a really drab gray and not in a fun or intentional way. idk.

teacups came out! still mismatched but cute nonetheless! gonna do them in a sort of celadon-type color with white flowers to match the teapot that my SO has :)

i don't feel like adding more photos for these lol they're very boring. the pot for my mom came out fine i think. gonna go in with normal white glaze over top to paint in some trees or other botanical designs. i sponged the underglaze on so hopefully the final result won't be streaky. sponged red on my seder plate to hopefully accomplish the same thing. mugs came through the bisque with no issues but i didn't do anything fun with underglaze on one of them so no new pics of that, but the other i did this tree thing again:

i KNOW it'll be streaky as hell. i just know. so i'm considering how i want to do it. perhaps putting some slightly transparent green over the top of it all to meld it together? unsure.

some new stuff: made a citrus juicer, this was attempt number 2 and just barely got it to work, attempt 1 was a total disaster. also made another mug type object, hopefully it'll still be wet enough this weekend to slap a handle on.

two mugs with red clay, i really loved the lascaux mugs that jessica bartram put up for sale last year but i didnt snag one in time so i was like. fuck it. i will make my own. gonna let them dry to leather hard before going in with black underglaze.

i've been trying to draw again but. idk. i just feel very uninspired. i start drawing and it's like :| :| :|

eating: i was on my own food-wise for much of the last week because my roommate was babysitting for the rabbi, so i did not eat nearly as extravagantly as i normally do, LOL. i made a lo mein recipe that was kinda just a stir fry. this could have been my fault because i added a bunch of extra shit like bok choy and mushrooms. i also didn't use the correct type of noodle, and i didnt have oyster sauce so i used worcestershire, etc. many substitutions so it's probably not fair for me to say it was Just Fine. will have to try again at some later date actually following the recipe. herb and radish salad with feta and walnuts: delicious. 10/10. i tossed in some extra arugula and that was also good. and i made the tofu brussel sprouts tahini/hoisin sauce thing again because it's easy and tasty.

(for anyone who disagrees with this post, please note that these are my personal opinions and i'm absolutely sure there's no need to start a catfight in the comments section <33)

so, for this analysis, i'm considering elena as bisexual (which i generally do, since she's had chemistry with both male and female characters in the show that has potential to be endgame)

elena & tyler — tylena would've been such a delight! both of them had amazing, top-notch reactions every time they had a scene together, be it good or bad and i would've loved it if they were endgame. tyler is incredibly loyal to elena and is also very protective and supportive of his significant others. he's also very passionate and blunt and provides constant assurance to his partner, which is something elena needs in the world of supernaturals. on the other hand, elena would always love tyler with her whole heart and never be afraid of his wolf side and would even aid him in his transformations even if he posed a significant threat to her life span.

elena & elijah — hands-down, the ultimate tvdu power couple. both complement the other's personalities and values. i've written a long-ass post as to why elejah is absolutely magnificent and i'll just link it right here for anyone who is interested to give it a read <33

elena & marcel — power couple in the chat! king and queen of new Orleans, jazz dances in rousseau's, and a much better rain kiss GUARANTEED. that man would literally sweep elena off her feet and everyone else would be absolutely fuming lmfao

elena & rebekah — s4 really just put beklena into the competition. with the constant rivalry they had in s3, s4 just gave a whole new perspective to things. from all the relationships rebekah has had, elena would've been the most healthy partner out of marcel and whoever else she's had a relationship with. plus, in some way or the other, just like elijah, rebekah made elena realize her worth.

elena & bonnie — perfect for friends-to-lovers. plus, both have the all dying and sacrificing thing very common between them. bonlena just speaks for itself and honestly, bonnie is wayyyy healthier for elena's mental sanity and like rebekah and elijah, she also reminds elena of her worth. however, a bonus point with bonnie is that there's a lot of trust and assurance between the two and both of their values hardly clash. it's just another ship that you'd definitely root for as endgame.

elena & freya — the only mikaelson elena has never got a chance to meet is freya. i believe freya and elena woild definitely complement each other. meet disaster turned cute friendship turned into a romance built on everlasting and heart-racing love. and hell yeah they'd definitely hit it off the second they met each other! (plus, both of them would make each other laugh a whole lot more with how serious freya is and how miserable elena's life is)

elena & jackson kenner — both have similar values towards friendship, romance and family and honestly, this is just such a wholesome ship. the thought it makes me positively squeal. if you're open to jacklena and would like to explore more, @sevensistersofsussex's 'throne of blood' is a brilliant place to start <33

elena & klaus — this is an incredibly rare pair which i 100% endorse. i know they may not seem to be compatible with the constant fighting between them. but they can be a beautiful relationship if given a chance and (i assure you) A WHOLE LOT BETTER than delena. for reasons why i ship them, i'll link the post right here. for reasons why i endorse them 100% and find them compatible, i believe my fics are more than enough for an answer. there's also 210+ fics under the klaus/elena tag on ao3 and they are brilliantly written by some of the writers i consider as my family and if you wish to explore, i'm linking my recs post right here <33

elena & kol — again, very self-explanatory. like damon, kol is also very capable of unlocking elena's adventurous style but UNLIKE damon, kol has massive potential to do it in a healthy manner. plus, can you imagine the shenanigans they could get upto? katherine would straight up say 'nope, i am outta here'

elena & finn — istg, our queen is compatible with every mikaelson LMFAO i legitimately love finnlena. they're so precious and they both wish to be human at the end of the day and with finn, i don't think elena would face that much trouble with how less number of enemies finn has (except for klaus and kol lmao)

elena & cami — our two human firebirds would be AMAAAAZING for each other <33 plus, both of them would be requiring a drink at the end of every goddamn day after dealing with the mikaelsons and salvatores.

elena & enzo — bonenzo serves as proof of how much of an amazing and healthy partner enzo is and i think he'd be great for elena! both of them would be an amazing support to each other and they'd definitely hit it off!

elena & kai — i think they'd make a pretty great ship. kai's association with elena might make him think about restraining his murderous tendencies and turn him into an anti-hero like klaus. though, i think he'd have much trouble restraining elena from attacking anyone who tries to harm him or their loved ones (he wouldn't stop her tho, he'd just find a tub of popcorn and enjoy the show)

elena & hayley — they've interacted less, yes, but i don't care, i find the romance side of haylena to be incredibly hot. plus, elena would be a brilliant step-mom to hope <33

elena & lucien — again, they have had zero interactions over the course of the show and its universe. but i find this ship really freaky in a good way and i wouldn't mind seeing elena with lucien 👀

elena & aurora — again, same explanation as lucien & elena's dynamic.

and finally, an honourable mention...

elena & henrik — if the show could've accommodated henrik somehow by bringing him back and possibly him being aged up due to magic, i see fionn whitehead playing an adult henrik. according to, like, my headcanon (based on theory), henrik and klaus are half-siblings of the other mikaelsons, meaning henrik is also esther's child with klaus' father, making henrik a werewolf-vampire hybrid too. he was always quite fascinated with werewolves like klaus and unlike elijah, rebekah, finn and kol so he does seem to be klaus' blood brother and half. he'd definitely be the most interesting mikaelson sibling of all and i think, with given time, elena and henrik would've had a pretty sweet relationship.

Like genuinely though I've bled that fandom dry, I've read every single Barca/Pietros fic that exists.

This fic is still being updated, I believe it's just slow because each chapter is an epic. It's just really cool and you all should read it. I think the dialogue is super fun and I'm very invested in every characters plot so far.

It's so close though!!! I've read every boreo fanfiction that exists too, and for a bummer of a book, it's a bummer of a fandom as well lol. This fic (although it also manages to be a bummer), puts Theo in such a funny predicament that it combats enough of the bummer-ness that I just loved it. And just like almost every other boreo fic, it's stupidly well written.

Another way to see it, flirtatious teasing. Complimenting one another on their qualities of being pred/prey. Prey being teased about their taste or fillingness or their squirming. Preds being teased about their hunger, and noises.

Vore on a personal level is a coping mechanism for trauma. It helps me feel in control over myself and decisions. It helps me feel safe with myself. It helps me feel safe with others I deeply trust. It gives me a way to feel wanted and seen and protected and remembered. It’s a way to get all things I never had, and importantly it has given me everything I wanted. Ack, pleeeeez, I'm so happy you enjoyed the latest chapter! It was a fecking titan to write, and it stressed me out something fierce. The birth was going to be as detailed as I could get it, I knew that going into the instalment before this one - that way, I can ease up on the detail in subsequent pregnancies (I hope lol). So there was a BUNCH of research I had to do to make sure it was right. It always grinds my gears just a little when I see something I know is medically/ physically/ generally inaccurate as a reader, notwithstanding fantasy embellishments of course. I'm glad it seems to have been pulled off well enough!

I also do try my best to write old-fashioned, haha. I was that dork in high school who thought she was better than everyone else because I carried around 'classics' and read them in my spare time. God, I was an uppity bitch. Wanna suckerpunch that ho when I think about her, lol. As a fun result, I picked up that rambling hoity-toity prose they use in older novels, so I do my best to emulate that within the bounds of reason. I try to maintain very deliberate stylistic differences between characters, too - for example, Babey rarely ever uses contractions (i.e. 'I won't' or 'please don't' etc.) to reinforce her prim-and-proper nature, and when she does it is a moment of tension (i.e. sex lol or the birth scenes). Daemon is somewhere in the middle as a noble but free-spirited dude (he'll use contractions, but he's still a bit of a fancyword guy). Kid characters like Luke will use words such as 'wanna' to highlight their youth, and so on. This adds nothing to the story, but it satisfies a little itch in my brain!

I TRIED TO ADD AS MANY NAWWWW TEAR-JERKY BITS AS I COULD HAHAHA, because I wanted this to be a real 'epiphany/ spiritual awakening' experience for Daemon. Like, "holy shit, I'm a daddy now". So this birth was big drama to unpack all that trauma that's been built up over the past 200,000-odd words and get them set on the road to healing. Babey made it through the birth just fine; she survived something she feared above all else, and Daemon was right by her side for it. (On a side note, this is actually a canon book thing - Daemon was present for all the births of his kids with Rhaenyra, INCLUDING Visenya, which makes me think he'd also have been present for Baela and Rhaena's births and his little stillborn boy.)

I have one of those history book snippets coming for the end of the next chapter, kinda like a book-end! Because I consider gevivys, donus rinus and nuhus prumys as plot-centric fics, I bookend them with the quotes; and because ilibitsos was a smut-centric one-shot fic, I began each 'part' with a quote. There is a weird method to that madness, I promise, haha! I really enjoy writing the history snippets - and this upcoming one has been written and waiting since Chapter 5 of donus rinus! Very excited to end the instalment with it.

Due to some accidents involving scalding my left hand, I am currently bit high off of morphine, and apologize so if it degraded my cohesion a bit. But, after staring at the wall for 7 hours, I come to an realization that, Stoliz, in a way almost by accident, is vaguely resembling of Chaggie.

Like. So far, I’ve noted that:

- Blitzo and Vaggie are both people of marginalized group, both racial and societal (as an Imp and an Sinner/WOC)

- Due to that, they both likely have an rough past and are still troubled by it. While this is a bit debatable on Vaggie’s part, she seems to deal with it in a way that is (somewhat) less harmful/heinous/much more reserved. (After all, by looking at some of Vivzie’s art, it’s heavily implied she ended herself)

- They both likely suffered from poverty/money issues till they encountered a Royal.

- Both of them are in an socially imbalanced, financially dependent relationship with their Royals. While it’s very vague with Chaggie because not only are we limited to the current status of Vaggie, the couple itself isn’t even explored.

And while Charlie and Stolas share even fewer links, in between their archetypes as optimistic loving sweeties, their flawed tendency to infantilize and treat an issue smaller than it is/completely miss the point of it is an important note as well.

I don’t know what’s up with writer and their deal to make almost every relationship incredibly power structured but then treating them in story as if it won’t have impact. A whole season into Helluva, and not once did the show even highlight an conflict between Blitzo and Stolas’s different philosophies made of vastly different life styles. That possibly, as someone who lived in poverty, that Blitzo not only loathes, but could possibly envy how Stolas was born with a sliver spoon in his mouth. That not only his motivation of getting close to Stolas consists of the grimoire, but some equal want, a desperate want, to at least experience the life the wealthy lives.To show to some part, that Blitzo just wanna experience what it feels like to live well-fed and privileged.

While Chaggie on another hand, we only have pilot version of. But even with a 5 minute screen time, I think it’s a particularly agreed even in the fandom that the ship is rushed like something added at the last moment (Which, it really is). This would’ve have been alright with me, since, once again. Pilot runtime. While I admit some underwhelming disappointment to see how the episode barely spent more than 10 second in the relationship between the protagonist and one of her most intimate partner, I could’ve waited it out.

But with the development of Helluva and seeing how it writes it’s female cast, I am growing more apprehensive for the future of the only wlw relationship in the franchise that is actually main focus.

Like, with how complicated Stoliz’s dynamic and it’s messages is, I would actually cry if they made Chaggie the typical wholesome lesbian relationship. Not in any normally wholesome way that is simply cute, but a wholesome way that literally turns blind all to the complexity and issues both characters share. Like. A thinly veiled Flanderization. Making up some “common relationship drama” conflicts instead of an really serious ones like their class and power difference. That unlike Blitzo, Vaggie literally can’t walk away since not only does it seem like Charlie is one of her only connection and home (which, once again, debatable. We literally don’t know anything beyond her interpersonal life outside of Charlie), but that she’s also stuck with the very daughter of the king. Like, if you put it on paper, things take a really sinister turn if Vaggie ever want to leave, there’s a high chance she won’t. And personally, I think it would be even more interesting if Charlie acts just a bit selfish, just a tad possessive: Anything more than this perfectly clean moral puppy the fandom and the pilot makes her out to be.

From all my brief pondering, from the main show to it’s spin oft, Stoliz and Chaggie foil and almost parallel each another.

That, say, if HB grows a pair of white eyes and takes Stolas and Blitzo’s power imbalances seriously and explore it, it can be an story that started with a clear distaste, unhealthy and malignant, starting ugly till it slowly wan into something more... for the lack of better word, tragic. Not romantic, certainly not romantic, but something more mutual . About two bad men whose connections to each other are just as bad, but beyond their classicism and gap in power, that at some point, they see each other - love each other - as equals.

But with Chaggie, of which it’s foundation started young and fuzzy, full of juvenile love and clumsy affection, actually start to decay and fall apart when at some point, the narrative nosedive into it’s darkest point. Of where Vaggie wants to leave, but Charlie doesn’t let her.

🥉10/10, Loved the way she pronounced each syllable in this song, a lot of plosive sounds which, as a literature nerd, i entirely appreciate. Her high range is truly incredible, this was a delight to listen to. The production on this is so GOOD. You can tell that Jack Antonoff worked with Lana for this album.

🥇10/10, I'M STILL SO STRANGE AND WILDDDDD. The lyrics on this song are so amazing and sweet. Truly a deserving song to be the title track. I'm actually gobsmacked at how beautiful this song is.

• Tulsa Jesus Freak - Amazing

8/10, The autotune is super cool and creative and experimental and I think it paid off, Started to pick up more after the 2 minute mark, I really enjoyed the outro.

• Let Me Love You Like a Woman - Amazing

9/10, Very calm song, the vocals are just angelic and the lyrics are incredible of course. Feels like this song could send me to sleep.

• Wild at Heart - Perfect

🥈10/10, "I love you lots like polka dots" AW. Such an adorable little love song. At some parts it kinda reminds me of 'hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me' and I think that's really representative of her mental state at this point in time, and that how she's healed and is actually happy. Like the contrast between similar rhythms but completely different lyrics, one being very sad and negative and now being sweet and happy, very beautiful.

• Dark But Just a Game - Amazing

10/10, This song is a different vibe then the ones before, the production and harmonies work so well. Actually I think this one is really cool, I like it a lot.

• Not All Who Wonder Are Lost - Perfect

10/10, I love love love the song name for this, such cute lyrics and a beautiful guitar in the background. Gives it a really wholesome campfire feel.

• Yosemite - Perfect

10/10, I love the use of the phrase "no more candle in the wind" throughout this album, It's so symbolic of how Lana is feeling now and how she's grown and healed, I love my girl being happy and healthy.

• Breaking Up Slowly - Perfect

9/10, I honestly though the feature was Miley Cyrus for a hot second. But I love the feature on this song, channelling the country southern vibes. The lyrics are also pretty relatable. Nikki and lana's voices go soooooo well together.

• Dance Till We Die - Perfect

10/10, Gonna name my daughter Clementine just because of this song. This song is so different for Lana and I love it!! It really worked out, an addictive listen.

• For Free - Amazing

9/10, I have loved all the features on this album. The notes that they hit on this song are so god like, I ascended. Such a good story being told.

JOSHUA - always walks on the outside of the road: it's so subtle that you don't notice it for a while. like everything he does, it's incredibly smooth. if you're chatting, he slows his steps and, without breaking his train of thought, comes up to your other side. he nudges you until you're on the inside of the sidewalk and takes your hand, swinging it in the space between you. to be honest, you chalked it up to him preferring to hold a certain hand over the other; you've definitely felt that way sometimes. what makes you finally realize is when jeonghan realizes it. you're walking in a group of three — you by the road, jeonghan in the middle, and joshua on the inside — and half listening to jeonghan's story when he suddenly stops talking and asks what josh is doing. "nothing," is his immediate response, crossing behind both of you to reach your other side. you move over to make room, and when you bump jeonghan further into the sidewalk, the older boy snorts. "are you always this chivalrous, or are you showing off in front of me?" jeonghan wonders. joshua only shrugs and tells him to continue with the story, but jeonghan's onto something. when joshua takes your hand, you give it a squeeze and send him an appreciative smile.

WONWOO - plays games for you: he loves when you play games with him, but there's a lot of times when you're too busy to keep up, and every time you come back, you're sad at all the resources you've missed from not doing dailies and events. so when he has time to play, he tells you to log in and join his world. "don't worry about it," he says, sliding on the cat eared headset you gifted him one year. "focus your pretty head on doing your work and i'll take care of the rest." hard to argue with him when he looks that good. as promised, he does both of your games, and you always have enough in-game currency or are caught up enough to play the latest events. he's busier than you are, though, so you want to return the favor sometimes, but he literally won't let you. you tried to sneak onto his computer once to help, and he remotely logged out as if he knew what you were doing. "why can't i help you?" you ask him one day, face crushed against his chest as he holds you back from queuing for his daily league game. "because," he responds, which is not an answer at all. still, it's cute that he worries more about your account than his own.

VERNON - cleans up quietly: mingyu pulls on your arm, already babbling about how fun the rides are going to be, but when you turn back to find vernon, you see him starting to stack up the dirty plates. people rarely ask it of him. with a group as big as seventeen, though, they can't afford to not clean up, so you notice that sometimes vernon starts that process, quietly clearing cans and cups so that there's less to do later. you shake mingyu off. "i'll join you in a bit," you tell him and tilt your head towards your boyfriend. mingyu shouts out don't take too long! and goes off to find someone else to bother instead. sidling up to vernon, you take the pile out of his hands. "you could've asked for help, you know." he shrugs, scrunching up all the dirty napkins. "they want to play." "what about you?" he shrugs again. "i don't mind going later. it's not like the games will disappear in the next twenty minutes," he says, and that's one of your favorite things about him. how patient he is. how you can't rush him, no matter how much the PDs try. you bump his shoulder on the way to the trashcan. "the games might still be there, but the snacks won't. let's hurry and catch up with the rest of them."

Interactive Fiction to Look Out For On Itch.io

itch.io is a trove of interactive fiction games, visual novels, and kinetic novels of all types, and I’ve run into a good handful that I think are worth highlighting (and playing again myself!)

Many of these I haven’t finished yet due to the sheer amount of content or because I went for the ending I wanted straight away, but I’d love to finish them thoroughly and perhaps review some of them in the future.

A couple notes! First, it’s been a while since I’ve played some of these games, and some of them I haven’t seen all of the paths. I try to give warnings where needed, but my warnings might not be complete as I don’t know absolutely everything in each game. Please check the games’ pages and look after yourself!

Secondly, many of these are available free, and some are for sale at a low minimum price, but I encourage you to supporter the writers, artists, composers and developers in any way you can, whether that’s giving them a follow, donating, or just leaving a nice comment. Supporting indie creators is a huge part of what this blog is about so give back to those who create things you love! Now let’s get into the list!

Visual Novels:

Hikeback is a horror visual novel about hitchhiking, time loops, and murder. It gives a lot of incentive to keep playing and replaying, as the story advances almost every time you start again, with new choices and details being revealed as it all unravels. This game is incredibly engaging and beautifully written, and lives up to the promise of time loops and meta game mechanics. I recommend this for anyone who wants a good spooky, existential story. Be warned of loud noises, jumpscares, glitch effects, blood and violence, abuse, and themes of self harm, suicide, and depression. Nothing to Say is a Visual Novel dating sim where you go on a date with Zoe, a girl you really like. The only problem is you’re very, very nervous. In this smart little game, you’ll be limited in how many letters you can use to express yourself, and you’ll have to unlock further dialogue options by getting to know Zoe, being honest with her, and being cute together. You’ll only earn letters from dialogue options once, encouraging you to explore more dialogue each playthrough until you get all the options to fully tell Zoe how you feel. Text-Interactive:

The Three-Body Problem is a queer romance interactive fiction about celestial witches living in a dark, magical wood when they encounter a young stranger. It features a nonbinary character, a potential polyamorous relationship, and healthy dom/sub dynamics. I found this story sweet and charming, with likable characters and pretty, easy to follow story writing. The Three-Body Problem deals with themes of abuse in a compassionate manner, and is in large part about healing and finding people with whom you are safe. I recommend it for anyone wanting a nice queer romance read with fantasy elements. Watch out for themes of abuse and sexual themes. Raik is a deeply Scottish fantasy melded with reality. You play as a young woman dealing with anxiety and stress trying to make it through her day, while a fantasy world unravels around her. This story has layers, and all of it is beautiful. The portrayal of anxiety is poignant and real, and the writing is gorgeous. I don’t want to say anything else to spoil it, but this game is fantastic. I recommend for anyone who likes to daydream. Please be warned of themes of anxiety, stress, and panic attacks as well as some fantasy violence. You can buy Raik here on itch.io for 3 GDP (or more! Please support the author!)

Space Frog! (I saw a lunar eclipse) is a story of a frog in space. He’s a frog and he’s in space! This is a cute, short interactive fiction with low stakes, no worries, just cute adventures of a frog in space. You can direct frog as he travels and learn more about him. It has adorable illustrations and clickable text that reveals extra flavor information. I recommend to anybody looking for a smile. Floor is a text-interactive game about lying on the floor. You can lie on the floor, and you can get off the floor. What you do next is up to you! This is a short game with no real stakes, just real life boredom and activities. It may evoke feelings of loneliness or disappointment, but you can also just have some hummus. Floor can be played here on itch.io!

Apple Spice Pancakes is another short game about making pancakes with your sweetie! It’s entirely wholesome and adorable. The game text is all dialogue - the dialogue you read is from your partner, and your choices are your real-time responses to them. You can help them design your perfect breakfast while being disgustingly cute. Apple Spice Pancakes is available here on itch.io!

A Witch’s Word is a romantic text game where you have made a deal with a witch, offering her your firstborn. The only problem is you don’t have a child. Or a partner. The witch is here to help. Explore three potential relationships as your witch continues to introduce you to new sweethearts, trying to find someone who you are willing to love and who is willing to give up your child. And if you don’t want any of these people the witch offers you... maybe play the game anyway. See what can happen. A Witch’s Word is available here on itch.io!

Other:

Novena is an interactive poem! It’s a pixel art game that you navigate around, interacting with parts of the environment to read through the poem, which is about the ocean, and wishes, and expectations. And compassion. It has absolutely stunning visuals and music, and the poem makes me cry each time. Be warned of some really heavy feelings, but it will do its best to comfort you. The poem takes about five minutes to read and is here on itch.io waiting for you.
