I hate how acknowledging unfairness in the world is seen as "childish". Maybe children are right. I don't think you should be proud of the fact that you've become complacent with the state of your miserable existence and took on this loser "it is what it is" mentality. Things can be better.

Hua Cheng really said luck may not be on his side but I AM, so if he loses that's against the rules because in MY city law is Xie Lian always wins at everything and the prize is anything he asks for. Argue with the wall or my scimitar and I respect that.

I am LIVING for the head cannon going around that Xie Lian has actually lost it centuries ago and his beautiful husband, Hua Cheng the Crimson Rain Sought Flower Ghost King himself, is actually a putrefied abomination/horrific creature of the night and he just doesn't see it.
BUT! Why leave the other calamity ghosts out of this fun filled horror fest??
🤩

This looks funny as hell, but also
Look at Hua Cheng
He literally just died
Xie Lian just grabbed him and picked him up like nothing
With that hot look on his face oh god
RIP fafa

Drew this based on the fact that in the revised version, mq is skilled in first aid and tended to Hong Hong er. And my headcanon that HC on some deep personal level sees MQ as his big bro so after they reconcile, he would behave like such a baby brat to MQ and MQ would grumble, act disgusted but still spoil him in the end. 🥹

ughhhhh so probably the tgcf scene i think the most about is in the final battle when hua cheng is holding xie lian and backwards gripping eming with his other hand i . god. this is referenced off of The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel (i’m pretty sure everyone has seen it by this point) which is surprisingly pretty topical for tgcf.
