And even though it was written in the 70’s Charles refused to betray his inner child and had nary a negative thing to say about it. Jersey City Theater Center will have its next live play reading, “Sibling Rivalries” by Marcus Scott, on Monday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The new play is set at a fictional Ivy League school in the years following the Obama Administration.
This political drama follows a group of young black men, all members of a fraternity, who face shifting loyalties and eroded principles when they are forced to compete against one another for a prestigious fellowship.
“As we prepare to showcase the extraordinary talent of Marcus Scott, a remarkable representative of the black, queer community, whose work we have had the privilege of nurturing by providing a creative residency in 2023, our enthusiasm knows no bounds,” said Olga Levina, the executive producer at JCTC. “At the very core of our mission lies our unwavering commitment to open doors for emerging playwrights, allowing their voices to resound both locally and globally. JCTC is immensely thankful for our enduring partnership with I Love Greenville and the sponsorship from Healthier JC. Our collaboration has given rise to a wide spectrum of programming, each piece thoughtfully designed to shed light on the experiences and obstacles faced by people of color while celebrating their rich cultural traditions.”
Scott is a playwright, musical theatre writer, and journalist. Some of his full-length work includes “Tumbleweed” (finalist: 2017 BAPF & the 2017 Festival of New American Plays at Austin Playhouse; semifinalist: 2022 O’Neill NPC, 2022 Blue Ink Playwriting Award & 2017 New Dramatists Princess Grace Award in Playwriting Fellowship), “There Goes The Neighborhood” (finalist: 2023 New Dramatists Princess Grace Award in Playwriting Fellowship, 2023 Blue Ink Playwriting Award, the 2019 Bushwick Starr Reading Series; semifinalist: 2023 BAPF), and “Cherry Bomb” (recipient: 2017 Drama League First Stage Artist-In-Residence, 2017 New York Theatre Barn’s New Works Series; 2017 finalist for the Yale Institute for Music Theatre).
He was commissioned by Heartbeat Opera to adapt Beethoven’s “Fidelio” and his one-act “Sundown Town” was published in Obsidian: Literature and Arts of the African Diaspora: Issue: 48.1.
Sibling Rivalries will take place at Jersey City Theater Center, 165 Newark Ave, Jersey City, entrance from Barrow St. Tickets start at $5 and are available at www.JCTCenter.org.

How about some hds about zemo and a shield! reader 👀 imagine the conflict
for this, I’ve bent the shield bit a touch and had reader a bit like Sharon Carter in CW. and imagine there’s a touch more time in the JCTC before Sam hunts him down.
If you had known who he was when you first took him home, you would have cuffed him to the bed for a different reason.
Instead, you found him enigmatic, handsome, intelligent and even funny. A chance meeting in a bar and now he kept buying you flowers whenever he got the green light you were free.
You never asked what he did. He never asked what you did. The two of you keeping it strictly… after hours.
They all ended the same. One of you on your back, against tiles, against sofa cushions, floors and once you even bent over your kitchen counter.
Your eyes catching his as he runs from the chaos with Barnes. The sound of people fleeing below you, the entranceway screams and shouts bouncing all over the walls.
Your feet taking off before your brain caught up, slamming into him. His eyes catching yours.
“Schatz?”
“Zemo.”
His eyes dart to your gun, kicking it from your reach before slamming into you. Pinning your back on the floor, smirking.
“This feels familiar.”
Growling, you try to pivot him, a soft hmmph leaving his throat as you force him off you. His lips parting, eyes wide as the two of you stare at one another, the gun in between you both.
“Under different circumstances, I’d afford you the luxury of escaping unharmed,” he says, eyes narrowing before he lunges.
Hands grasping for the gun.
You just as quick, moving kicking him into his stomach, grasping for the gun as his hands find your neck. Thumb pressing down, thighs pinning you down hearing soft, little chokes as your nails dig in.
“This also feels familiar,” he smirks, removing one hand, furrowing in his pocket. “Fuck I love your fight, Schatz. But, I need you to sleep now. If you do, I’ll come back for you.”
Your eyes narrowing, full of fire and determination.
“Reward you with that thing I do with my tongue,” he grins. “You’re such a pretty thing, I hope you know that.”
He almost pities you. Even as your lashes begin to flutter, your hands tapping and tapping at his hands.
“I’ll find you when I’m done,” he says with finality, before stabbing your neck with a needle.
Watching the little light left on fading, and fading. Slowly releasing his hand, brows raising as he sees the marks he’s left.
“I hope they’re there when I return,” he mutters, if only to himself, standing as he brushes himself down before fleeing.

RE: this ask... yeah, it would've been nice if in some way, Tony was called out more for dehumanizing Wanda. There's so many ways they could've done this. I mean, it could be through:
When Vision provides Wanda with Tony's reason ("Mr. Stark would like to avoid the possibility of another public incident") for interning her in the Compound with Vision as her jailer, have Wanda respond, "So you and Stark don't want people to see me at all. How does that make you any different from politicians in third world countries like Sokovia who lock up those who don't agree with them?" and then immediately leave the Compound at that moment, travel to Germany, and yell at Tony in front of everyone there at the JCTC. I bet even Natasha would be on Wanda's side here.
Have Wanda and the rest of Team Cap get to Siberia with Steve and Bucky, and she calls out Tony here.
Have Steve call out Tony when he makes the "WMD" remark about her and point out that by saying that, Tony is saying that he shares the same views Thaddeus Ross has of Thor and Bruce (that they aren't people, but things to be controlled).
I wholeheartedly agree with you. They had more than enough opportunities to do something like that and call him out because the things Stark is defending in CW are basically that the enhanced are not people, that once the government decides something you better follow it or expect illegal imprisonment with no right to lawyer or trial, and he wants to be granted the permission to act and not face any consequences for his actions (like Steve says, the Accords shift the blame).
Not to mention he finally gets the perfect excuse to admit he just wanted to defend his country and screw everyone else (the Accords state that heroes can act freely in their country of origin. Oh look what a coincidence, most of the Avengers are American! And Wanda could technically defend Sokovia but oh, surprise, she's interned and arrested.).
And then of course the movie that's meant to give some form of closure to CW is EG where Stark says this:
Tumblr media
But once again no one is allowed to say anything back not even when he's spouting Hydra rhetoric.
In Wanda's case it's even worse since her parents were murdered by Stark's weapons (and was he ever made accountable for it by the authorities? nope!), her brother was killed after Stark went behind the team to build Ultron (again, any accountability or consequences for him after that? nope!) and in CW he's keeping her interned in the compound for no damn reason.
If this wasn't the Stark Cinematic Universe she would have said something but we all know he can never be called out for his ideas or beliefs since I'm pretty sure Disney agrees with them...

Are your dirty drabbles still open? If they are could you do a Tony Stark one where he’s wearing that suit from the civil war conference and after everyone’s left the reader wants to make him feel better and rides him whilst pulling on his red tie and his lips graze her ear as he whispers like really dirty stuff-
Idek where my innocence went.... if you’re not taking requests then it’s fine and you don’t have to do it tho.

.
After the conference and the whole ordeal in Berlin, to say Tony was disturbed would’ve been the biggest understatement.
He’d been disturbed for a while. You knew it. After New York and Ultron, nothing was the same. Not the team, not you, not Tony.
While his anger was directed towards Captain and his other supersoldier war buddy, he kept his distance from you.
And you were willing to do anything and everything in your power to make him feel better even if it was just for a little while. Anything.
So you’d pulled him in one of the deserted but impressively well maintained restrooms of the JCTC building, locked the door behind you and sat him down on one of the toilets.
He followed you with minimum complaints, he knew he needed this and was grateful you understood.
The location was far from desirable but it would have to suffice, for now.
Jacket long abandoned, you loosened his red tie not taking it off, the damn thing had been driving you insane ever you saw him in it before moving to massage his tense shoulders.
Tired brown eyes implored yours when your hands grazed over the fabric of his pants, fingers attempting to unbuckle the belt before he stopped you.
“Here? Now?”. “It’s tension release. I want to make you feel better Tony. Can’t see you like this. I’ll do whatever it takes.”
He didn’t question any further. Simply sunk into your ministrations, though made no attempts of ridding you of your clothes. He let you take the lead.
Rough kisses, haphazard shedding of your skirt and unzipping of his pants later, you took his length in your hands and worked him up.
You sunk down on his shaft after a while, a combined groan echoing in the tiny stall, holding his tie with one hand, twisting it over your wrist as you began moving.
“Come on Tony. Let go.” You whispered and he did. Suddenly gripping your hips roughly while another hand pulled on your hair as he grazed his teeth over your neck, sucking and biting marks on the skin.
“You’ve been wanting this since we got here didn’t you? My. Needy. Little. Girl.” He growled, every thrust making his cock reach deeper and deeper inside while your fingers pulled on his hair and you bit your lip to prevent from screaming as your climax approached.
“You like it when I’m rough. Angry. Frustrated. It spurs you on does it not sweetheart?” His eyes burned into yours, the hurt and anger blazed but lust was the prime emotion reflecting at the moment. All you could do was nod and pull on his tie harder.
“You’re gonna cum aren’t you? I can feel you’re close baby.”
“Anything to make you feel better Tony.” You managed to whisper before he covered your mouth with his, swallowing the rest of your sentence along with those screams you could no longer hold in.
Tears sprung in your eyes as you came, walls spasming around his cock, legs twitching, skin flushed and sweat-lined as he grabbed your hips to still them, his own orgasm spilling into you in thick hot ropes of cum, face buried into your neck as he grunted to a stop.
The stall sure felt stuffy and uncomfortable now that you were done, but made no attempts of moving.
“So tension release huh?” “I think it was necessary.” Wiping your hair away from your face, Tony smiled for the first time in days, a rare easy Stark smile before capturing your lips in a sweet kiss.
“Thank you.” “Anytime Stark.”

Tonight I watched Winter Soldier and Civil war
I noticed how Tony mentioned something about MIT during a presentation in Civil War about that B.A.R.F holographic illusion. Then, Agent Ross said something about the JSOC. Erik went to MIT and he’s apart of JSOC. So much potential there!!! Maybe Tony knew Erik? It would have also been cool if Erik went on JSOC missions for the CIA. Natasha said to T’Challa that “task force will decide when to bring in Barnes.” Bucky was also held at the JCTC ( Joint Counter Terrorist Centre) in Civil War before he escaped. It would have been cool if Erik was there!!!
Just my thoughts!

Approving Thoughts on TFATWS (and Criticism of the “fandom”):
With only six eps and half the vocal viewers devouring each other, can it be called a fandom? Idk. My real question is: what in the text of the script is there to cry and complain over? Approached with a level head, the creators do a great job of expanding on the movies’ foundation.
I’m black (and female) so I have real experience about these things in this make-believe world of the MCU. *dry laugh*
Here are my five reasons to be satisfied with the first half of TFATWS season one, as far as a TV show can satisfy the human heart (which it cannot):
1. The superheroes invite greater threats against their powers. Some superheroes turn out to be frauds. The superheroes too are people and are still subject to being mistreated by their fellow humanity. Personally, I think sweet and precious Sam Wilson gave up the shield for fear of what would happen to him as a black man. I didn’t think TFATWS would be that honest about human frailty, but it looks like they will. Is it too much to say Sam can overcome the fear and become his own Cap regardless of what other people say or how they treat him? It’s not too much; it’s an awesome lesson for the kids and adults watching. Now, Steve wasn’t dumb or racist; he gave Sam the shield, knowing that would be the challenge, and he had expected Sam to succeed in it, in his own time. Adjacently, the X-Men series deals with superheroes being mistreated a lot more flawlessly than most other major Marvel comics. I did hear that in a comic in the 90s, Black Panther and Storm got married and when Isaiah Bradley arrived, that’s how most of the white superheroes (including James “Bucky” Barnes, Steve Rogers and Wolverine) found out about his history and fame in the black community. Hilarious! And interesting. And sad.
2. They’re gonna choose what kinds of wrongdoing they want to show in TFATWS. It’s up to us to be self-reflective on our values. I MEAN...they were at a criminal outpost, yet we only saw drug trafficking and weapon trafficking. It’s not as if there is not prostitution (“I look like a pimp in this thing!”) and sex trafficking and other worse kinds of human trafficking acting as the lifeblood of Madripoor, Indonesia. Yet viewers will whine that the creators chose a South Asian Pacific location to show it. You’re focusing on the wrong things, folks. What about Sharon Carter deciding to do the morally bankrupt “hustler thing” and push stolen artwork, the administration of which, is funded by...the above? Yet people will laugh and say Sharon called Bucky Steve’s whore—when no, she called him Steve’s wife, an infinitely more respectable title.
What about Zemo putting on an act of “his old self before incarceration at JCTC” and groping Bucky’s face in front of those other criminals? What about the shoulders that got crunched in the battle on the cargo ship? Sharon’s awesome, a total badass. But working with Zemo sucks. And Walker is worse.
What about when Tony Stark made Ultron which made other dumb robots that plotted to destroy the “human threat” to earth, a plot which radicalized Sokovian deathsquad commander, Baron Helmut Zemo, who planted and pinned the bombing of Wakanda’s King T’Chaka on Bucky, who had spent 50 years as the world’s most lethal and most mind-controlled assassin—and remembered everything--at the signing of the superhuman-regulating Sokovian Accords? What about when Bucky told Steve he didn’t think he was worth it? And when Sam told Steve that perhaps Bucky wasn’t the same person he knew anymore? But Sam and the other half of the Avengers were sent to the Raft (superhuman max pennitenarary floating in the Atlantic Ocean) so Bucky could flee for his life which they thought he deserved to keep after seeing evil Zemo turn “on” the Winter Soldier? What about when Sam went with Steve to Peggy Carter’s funeral because Bucky was on the run and later found refuge in Wakanda and got his mind back? What about when Tony Stark sacrificed himself to Blip everyone back and Steve went back in time, became Peggy’s longtime husband, then returned, retired and gave the shield to Sam? And when Bucky looked on proudly?
3. Seems to me we need Sam and Bucky together for their own sake and for the sake of their world’s hope and future. There is also a lot between them to resolve as 1 and 1/2 Avenger. Insightful people say Thanos got an edge on the Avengers because they were still split up after the Civil War. Meanwhile, the Sokovian Accords are still active after the Blip. This has huge implications for MCU. I don’t know why we’re trying so hard to pull Sam and Bucky apart. They’ll do that just fine on their own. We need to hope they stay together!
4. There are not many comic readers here on Tumblr. That’s good. I am not one, I just have comic-reading friends. They’re very hard to please...which is why it’s so funny that the people who only watch MCU are even harder to please, given that they have even less of an idea of what’s going on. It’s called hubris. For example, in the comics, Isaiah Bradley never fought against the Winter Soldier in Goyang, South Korea in 1951. Never happened. Yet some people want to call MCU Bucky a racist who is 100% blind to his own white privilege? Smh.
5. What’s the point of watching a silly TV show that is not reductively hateful (unlike HBO’s GoT), if you’ll just complain about it, complain about other people’s responses and what they think or not think, and rant at each other over what should be? What do you know? It’s just big-budget play-pretend. Sit back and remember it’s a buddy cop show, too: a very unique installment compared to what’s to come in the MCU.
Now, I look forward to seeing Captain America’s future resolved in Sam Wilson, and Captain America’s past resolved in James “Bucky” Barnes. That’s as imaginative as buddy cop shows come, these days.
