Just watched Wakanda Forever and while I enjoyed the movie I just feel very dissapointed by the Namor/Talokani plot in general.
It seems most other indiginous cultures have gained some modicum of respect in mainstream media rep but to see the Mayan inspired people portrayed as the bad guys through most of the movie in this the year of our lord 2022 is just exhausting.
Evidently oppressed indiginous groups will always be in the wrong for taking violent action against their oppressors, because the oppressed can only take back their freedom peacefully to have a rightful claim to it.
But here's the kicker: am I saying Wakanda was their oppressor? Hell no! Wakanda is over there minding their own business! It's the good ol' US of A that's threatening their peace searching for their resources!
So why then, is the plot of the movie not Namor asking Wakanda for their help in attacking the US? Uniting to defeat the real enemy, the "colonizers"?
Instead they have a stupid vendetta against the scientist that invented the technology that can find vibranium. What for? The machines have already been built and are in use, why waste your time eliminating a scientist when the navy are already at their doorstep searching for the vibranium? This isn't terminator they're not going back in time to avoid the technology being invented.
Why threaten Wakanda with war if they don't deliver them the scientist? In this universe Wakanda has better technology and resources than even the US, so why threaten a potential ally that's more powerful than your enemy INSTEAD OF YOUR ACTUAL ENEMY? If they're so convinced they can take on Wakanda in a war, why not go straight for the ones actually threatening them???
I'll tell you why. Because for all those stupid "a colonizer in chains" woke jokes, the reality is that they'll never show the US as the real monster that it is. They'll skirt around it but you'll never have an indiginous culture waging war on the US and BEING IN THE RIGHT AND MAYBE EVEN ACTUALLY WINNING!
Because the US represents the status quo of the world that must be preserved at all costs and anything that threatens it is evil, even if they are completely in the right.
So instead have an almost 3 hour movie about an indiginous people waging a misguided war on the heroes only to in the end come to their senses and form an alliance... to... be protected? To go back underwater and have their secrets kept?
I don't get it, is the US just magically gonna forget that they were looking for vibranium in the middle of the ocean? Are they just going to peacefully back down because Wakanda told them not to keep searching? *laughs in history of the entire fucking world*
I'm sorry but this movie is very carefully crafted propaganda. Look we're so inclusive we make movies about other cultures! We call out colonization! While also piting indiginous cultures to fight against each other and completely forget who the real enemy is! Oh but don't worry they make peace at the end! And agree to help each other keep world peace by not challenging the US! Happy endings for everyone!
Idek how to end this, I just feel like it was a waste of really cool worldbuilding they had in the beginning, I wanted to see them flourish together with Wakanda, not go at each other's throats over a senseless plot point :/

Hello, my name is Sam, (she/they) and this is my first WIP (I did write some short stories, and have a couple ideas for new WIPs). I will mainly post about it and/or writing tips, especially in regards to worlbuilding, maps, and character building. All asks welcome.
It is my first time on writeblr, and I'm excited to meet other writers.
Especially if you are very keen on character planning, but it's also nice if you don't like it!
I write mainly for middle schoolers/ high scoolers, and I made a point of writing what I would have wanted to read.
I started 5 years ago so I'm currently reworking my charachter a bit, especially my MC.
I like to write dystopian, a bit of horror, and also fantasy. Also LGBT/ Queer
A proper writeblr wip introduction is under the cut :)
NAME OF THE WIP: Causing an Apocalypse
WHAT IS IT: A trilogy, the titles are: Memory's Fire, From City to City, In Ruins.
GENRE: Dystopian and LGBTQ+
PLOT: The year is 2092. The main problem for humanity is currently finding a new source of energy, after everything else has failed. Thankfully the mysterious and rinomate school C.D.E.A. can provide to that. How? No one knows, except the children who are admitted. They are all between 6 and 12 years of age, and they must maintain the silence.
Poor Liam however could not care less about energy sources. His main preoccupation are instead the strange dreams he keeps having. They revolve around a house fire and a little girl he knows nothing about (even if he has the sensation he really should).
Moreover, one day, he discovers that the C.D.E.A is not a prized school as everyone believed it to be. And he slowly understands that there is a connection between the little girl and the C.D.E.A. institute. But what could it be? What does C.D.E.A mean? Who is the girl he keeps dreaming so often? He has the sensation he should know all the answers, but he does not remember a single one of them.
His only option is to search for the central building of C.D.E.A. and hope to find the information he needs.
What started as a simple research, will however turn into a much more difficult quest. Liam will have to save the future, while trying to remember his past. Thankfully he will have some precious help by people who, just like him, are looking for answers around the mysterious C.D.E.A.
MAIN CHARACHTERS:
Liam Wordsworth (he/him): a young 16 year old boy who suddenly has more to worry about than the math test he could have failed. His main goal? Look for a girl he feels strongly attached to (even if he does not know why). What will that imply? A travel across the USA, Europe and New Africa. And discoveries he would have rather not made. He tends to get angry often, and he has lost all his memories in a house fire. He is an orphan and got adopted by Clem, and elderly lady, albeit still very energetic. He will be the leader of te Sibling Squad. He is trans AFAB, this has not a big impact on the story but it is mentioned.
Kyle West (he/him): a bisexual young lad from Canada who is looking for his brother. When he does not call him back after being offered a work opportunity as C.D.E.A., he knows something is wrong. He will embark in a travel looking for him, and will meet Liam and the Squad in the process. He is ADHD, fidgets a lot. He will grow feelings for Joshua.
Helen Marquez(she/her): her nickname? Bonebreaker. She is a fierce teenager who would never pass up an opportunity for a fight. Her parents are divorcedand her little brother, Diego, is currently lost. She knows he can't be dead tough. She saw him on a C.D.E.A. minivan. And she does not think twice before following that van in order to discover what C.D.E.A. is and where are they bringing her brother. Her father is Mexican, and Mexico is where her Abuela lives. She should have been called Elena but her mother changed the name later. That was the first fight her parents had. After the divorce her mother started taking drugs, and she had to take care of Diego a lot growing up.
Nia Otieno (she/her): she is a shy 13 years old black girl, and she does not know anything about her parents. Her mother died while giving birth, and her father disappeared leaving only an address behind. She will be very surprised when that address will lead her right into C.D.E.A. main building. Why is she there? Who is her father? She does not know how to swim. She will be like a sister for all the others in the Squad.
Yossel Siegel (he/they): he is gay, nonbinary, and jew. He was born in Egypt, 7 years after his brother Isaac. Theyr parents were Jew and could speak Yiddish and Arabic. His father was from the USA, his mom from Egypt. When his mom died theur father returned to USA. At home they spoke primarily Arab and Yiddish, but at school he learned English. He struggled less then his brother because he moved at 2, while Isaac was already 9 and struggled more with learning a language. Their life is not easy at all, especially because his brother will have him steal in order to support his family. After moving his father struggled finding a job and they are extremely poor. One day, however, he will return home to find absolutely nothing and no one. The only trace left are some tire prints. Following them he will see his brother making a deal with a man who claims to be a C.D.E.A. operative. They will have no choice but follow them remaining hidden. At least until he meets the Squad. He is quite religious, and likes dressing in colorful ways. They will develop strong feelings for Kyle.
Simon Csizmadia (he/him): pale, frecklish and asthmatic, he is the nerd of the Sibling Squad. His father is Hungarian, his mother is Russian, but born in Hungary. The Squad will all end up in his motel, and once he will reveal he knows something about C.D.E.A. he will be immediately recruited. He hopes to find his little sister, Anya, who got recruited years before. He has a feeling something bad happened to her tough. He is a real computer nerd, and that will come in handy when the Squad will need a hacker.
Kora Leeland (she/they): she could not care less about her gender. She is 22 and in a stable relationship with Jack. They are disabled and with limited mobility: she often uses crutches or a wheelchair. That does not stop her from being an excellent strategist. She and Jack know what C.D.E.A. really does to children and her goal is to stop them. They and Jack have been boycotting them for a few years, with scarce results. But thanks to the Sibling Squad everything could change.
Jack, short for Jacqueline, Hamilton (she/her but does not really care): she is 23, and she is ready to sacrifice everything to fight C.D.E.A. she works as an operative, but really that is just a cover in order to get better information and help Kora out. She can drive almost everything. She is often exchanged for a male, but she is actually Kora's long term gf.
Lucas West (he/him): Kyle's brother. Will he be really working for C.D.E.A
Isaac Siegel (he/him): Yossel's brother. He is Jew. He would do anything to get his family money to survive. Included siding with the bad guys. Will Yossel be able to change his mind?
Kate Wordsworth (she/her): Liam's little sister. They got separated but she never stopped hoping to see him again. Will her dreams come true?
Diego Marquez (he/him): Helen's little brother. He aspires to be as strong as his sister, but for now he is just really good at drawing. Will he make it out of that van safe and sound?
Anya Novikov/Csizmadia (she/her): she is Russian, and she is Simon's adopted sister. She did not correctly develop her vocal chords while in the womb, and as a result she remained mute since birth.
Jennifer Leeland(she/her): Kora's little sister. Kora knows what happened to her, but that only gives her strength to keep fighting C.D.E.A.
Kabir Hassam and Javier Parra: Liam's school friends. They will help him even from afar. Up until C.D.E.A. will try and recruit them. What will their answer be? Karim is Nigerian, and Javier Argentinia.
Yohannes Otieno (he/him): He is C.D.E.A's leader. All other informations are top secret.
CURRENT WIP PROGRESS: planned all three books in general, planned the first half of the first book in detail, wrote the first 4 chapters (out of maybe 40 🥲)
That's all. I know it is a long post lol, so thank you if you made it to the end and it's ok if you did not follow everything.
Everything about this WIP will be tagged #CAA or #Causing an Apocalipse

You know what I found ironic with the Tania Saavedra's post about supporting Tenoch. She states that Tenoch did his best trying to get the word out that her daughter was missing and help find her. Now I don't follow Elena and her work or if she did something similar but I see Tenoch have done more support for women and fighting against colorism than Elena has ever done. I wonder why's that? 🤔 All she been doing was spread gossip like some reddit conspirator.
It seems like to me Tenoch actions lounder are lounder than Elena's words.
This question is a bit tricky for me to answer anon, so take it with a pinch of salt.
It seems like Elena is more well known than Tenoch in Mexico, which to me is surprising. But of course, I am not Mexican so I'm not at all aware of the context.
It could be that Elena was more involved in ground-level activism? I have no clue, so I'm giving her the benefit of doubt. Although my personal opinion differs: given her criminal history, and her habit of trying to steal the spotlight, I don't want to give her any benefit of doubt.
The part that I find funny, and that @talokanda-forever has pointed out here (somebody on Twitter also posted about this) is that Elena is a famous "saxofonista" and we see the saxophone in her hand all the time, but somehow there's barely any audio or video of her playing? This was the part that made me feel very shady about her whole identity. It's a facade. Tenoch probably fell for it too I suspect. Saxofonista, with those powerful images of her playing, recent acid attack victim. There's a careful construction of image. If we think about sociopaths and narcissists and frauds, all of them have this modus operandi that she also seems to follow. The image is very important. And relying upon that image to craft a fake narrative around themselves, manipulating others is their strategy.
In a nutshell, not only do I not understand what activism she does, I don't understand what she does at all.
Oops, I said too much! 😂
(disclaimer: I strongly condemn acid attacks, and it shouldn't have happened to her, no matter how terrible a human being she is)

asking you about jason todd 👀
OK OK OK Jason Todd HCs. Honestly, most of these could just be Jason Todd HCs in general. As usual with my AUs it's just "how I would do X character". I did a write up of him in the AU here which should explain a lot but:
Visually, he's destined to have a tall and very strong frame, despite a childhood of malnutrition. He's really racially ambiguous visually, but you can pick out some Filipino/Mexican/Black/White in there. (This is partly inspired from the comics - Jason and Bruce wondered if Lady Shiva was his Mom, which one would think they wouldn't do if he looked completely White! This was never brought up again but I thought it was interesting). He speaks a shitton of languages but they're all pidgins and Spanglish and the other language equivalents of Spanglish lol.
Victim of childhood emotional and physical neglect as a kid, and after a certain point he just started taking care of himself. But he was collectively raised by his entire apartment building, so he has really strong emotional and physical ties to community and his people. Jason's both one of those people who knows everybody, and he's one of those people you come to with your problems and helps you out. He's a fixer - he takes care of people and he's very good at it. Jason is an extremely kind and selfless person. He just cares so fucking much, despite everything.
Despite & because of all of these things (racial, parental, community) he has identity issues. He's proud of his ID as an East Ender, but he constantly struggles with who he is, what heritage and community does he belong to, and does he have one to call his own. In the East end there's a thousand different communities, and although Jason's adjacent to all of them he never really belongs in any. No matter how much he does he'll always be an outsider.
He finds guidance in these identity issues by converting to Judaism, actually! It gives him that need for history and identity and belonging that he's always looked for, and it ties him together strongly with Bruce and the family. He's the reason Bruce actually starts practicing again and it's extremely sweet and wholesome etc. Jason gets really into it, he loves philosophy and dialectics.
This confused sense of identity and belonging is why he loves Robin so much. It's also why he kind of hates Robin sometimes. He loves the Waynes and everybody bends over backwards making him feel included & loved & important & like he's a real son in the family (in a way that has never. been done before lmfaooo) and Robin is the most important and influential 'identity' in Gotham, but it also comes with a very heavy and laden history and burden of the ways it's failed before.
Robin will never really be his. Bruce will always look at Jason in the costume and see the oldest son he mismanaged and the previous Robin who died horrifically without knowing that he was loved. Jason is actually legit the favorite kid, maybe just behind Cass, jkalsdjf, and maybe although Jason Todd's always the individual and holds a unique position that's never been filled before - somebody who's actually treated like a son with open affection and great effort made towards being part of the family - as Robin his successes will never quite match up to Bruce's mistakes.
Whoah that got long jaklsdjf I'm sorry I got Lost In The Themes Sauce. That's not really Jason HCs as it is Jason's story. There's a lot more to it, but I think when you enter a broken family then family becomes important to you. I think there's nothing he ever wanted more for Bruce than for Tim to have survived, but he knows everything he has is because Tim didn't.
And then Tim tried to beat him to death lmfao #girlboss. Thanks for the ask I love the boy!

Raphael Santiago
Tumblr media
Name: Raphael Santiago Species: Vampire Age, Actual: 85 Age, Appears: Late teens, perhaps 19 Title: Leader of the New York Vampires Canon: Shadowhunters (TV not books) Sexuality: Asexual, biromantic FC: David Castro
Backstory: (Trigger warning for child death, death in general, suicide attempt mention) Born in Mexico in 1937, Raphael left at the age of ten with his mother and siblings moving to New York . As the eldest child of a single mother, Raphael strived to be the man of the house protecting and raising his siblings. A natural leader, he often mixed with older children and when needed to was the one to take charge and speak up. His dry sense of humour and low tolerance for suffering fools didn't always make him popular but Raphael cared little. Slow to open up but quick to offer his opinions on all that was wrong, few saw the sweeter side to Raphael outside of his family. The boy who doted on the children, who loved to cook and provide for his loved ones and who adored his mother.
Raphael largely had an image of a good church going boy. A boy the Mexican mothers all agreed would be a suitable match for their daughters. He was also one of the only boys, it seemed to him, who was not obsessed with chasing skirt. And then the murders began. Young children disappearing and later found dead on the street. But it was only the poor and immigrant children so nobody seemed to care. Rumours swirled about drained blood and fang marks, a vampire was preying on the children. When the men gathered to defend the children and hunt down the murder, be they man or supernatural, Raphael was the youngest of them. No one of the group returned. As it turned out, the murderer was indeed a vampire and he had killed many of the men and turned Raphael into a monster like him. Raphael's first action as a vampire was to murder his maker. This feat showed a level of mental and physical control and strength that few newborn vampires are able to show. Most were wild and driven only to feed but Raphael overrode all of that to exact revenge on his murderer. And then the frenzied feeding began. The men who were not slaughtered by Louis, where fed on by Raphael. After this he tried to kill himself from loathing and shame by hurling himself into the sunlight. He was only stopped by the warlock Magnus Bane, sent by Raphel's mother to find him. Bane took Raphael in, teaching him how to live and survive in his new life. How to not despise who and what he was now. Now, Raphael is leader of the vampires of New York. He has seen his siblings grow older from the shadows whilst committing himself to the protection and future well being of his people. Raphael is the first to admit that Magnus saved his life and is the only father figure he has ever had. Just as in his human life, he is incredibly protective of his people and will always prioritise their safety over all others. To him 'his people' are his vampires and those he holds dearest. Supernatural skills: Encanto- a kind of hypnosis. Heightened senses, increased speed and strength. Vampire fangs secrete a substances that induces relaxation and sometimes euphoric feelings. It is used to make a drug called yin fen and is a reason why some humans voluntarily 'donate' blood to get a high. Open for: Generally any kind of plot except smut because he is ace. I strongly dislike Raphael/Izzy but any other ship I'm very open to explore with almost any muse. I confess I love saphael but I do multi ship all my characters. He's naturally a supernatural muse but can be adapted for almost any au, so please feel free to send me an ask.

edit note: I have been informed in the books he is aromantic, I didn't know that and I am playing the TV version who has been show to be interested in potential romance whilst also being asexual. I'm not erasing his book identity, I'm just playing the TV version.

"Scooby-Doo Where Are You?" (1969)
Tumblr media
S1 Ep5. "Decoy For A Dognapper"
Air Date: October 11th 1969
"The gang investigates the disappearance of a prized poodle by using Scooby as a decoy to unveil the thief... until Scooby is also kidnapped."
...I haven't posted in a while, and this episode is why. I didn't want to do it. I didn't want to type out all the white guilt I felt while watching this episode. I was struggling to think of fun silly things to add when I first typed up this draft, But while strongly pawing at my own face, not feeling comfortable with what I had written at all. I finally caved and sat down to write this review correctly.
Tumblr media
I will start by saying, this is the most culturally insensitive episode so far - which isn't saying a lot, but we're only on episode 5. For starters, the Name "Geronimo" is used so often it hurts my brain.
For those of you who don't know Geronimo was a prominent leader and medicine man from the Bedonkohe band of the Ndendahe Apache people. From 1850 to 1886, Geronimo joined with members of three other Central Apache bands – the Tchihende, the Tsokanende (called Chiricahua by Americans) and the Nednhi – to carry out numerous raids, as well as fight against Mexican and U.S. military campaigns in the northern Mexico states of Chihuahua and Sonora and in the southwestern American territories of New Mexico and Arizona.
And there is just truly no substance to this episode other than Buck Masters is evil, and yet also somehow a bad villain??? But I will cover that in my villain review.
Usually I take this post to explain what the gang did wrong, or how they actually weren't that helpful after comparison to damage. In this case, I bite my tongue and say they really didn't do anything wrong. No elaborate trap, no ongoing chase scene, no Scooby being Scooby moment, nothing. Daphne does get captured but is short term.
Tumblr media
There weren't even finances to break down, no poke at crashing a boat, not even an elaborate trap that cost way too much.
Freddy made a slingshot out of a tree, and they caught him by the dogs chasing him up a tree. This episode sucked, Burt Masters sucks.
There's no happy ending about this episode. The remarks and comments made during this episode were so low I was even shocked to hear them myself. The entire episode is based on horrible indian stereotypes that we as a society have cancelled them. I wish I hadn't watched this, then rewatch this episode while debating in my own head about what to say. But as I'm writing out financial Breakdown for my villain post, I had to Amazon shudders "Indian Costumes" for a price point and I was shocked to STILL see these cultures still being viewed this way today. Unapologetically being shown in this light.
Tumblr media
At the end of the day, I can say as a society we were just not there in 1969. We (as a society) had not learned to be upset when we view these kinds of things, in fact this was probably a very 'inclusive' episode at the time and Hannah Barbara really thought they were on to something. Which is unfortunate to see now.
I was never a fan of this episode, maybe because it wasn't really funny, or there were a lot of fluff scenes that didn't make sense. I honestly couldn't tell you why I was never a fan growing up, but (now) I can tell you the reason this episode bugs me is because it's extremely culturally insensitive.
Tumblr media
So there, I've done it! I've written out this review and we can now move forward into future episodes and laughs.
I'm sorry if this isn't the normal standard for my reviews, but even small cultural insensitives is not a matter we can overshadow with animation quirks, favorite quotes, and individual character stupidity.
My love for Scooby-Doo carries on, as I know we as a society have made progress and it truly shows in episodes like these - because episodes like these don't exist anymore.

I love you all, stay safe and educated 💚

New Fiction 2023 - December
"Ezekiel" ed. Richard Challoner (1752)
Ezekiel had a lot to prophesy, and none of it good news.
"Daniel" ed. Richard Challoner (1752)
We're really just there for lions and Susanna.
Revenant by Alex White (2021)
I like that I can hop around between DS9 stories that are part of the post-show timeline and the various stories that just take place at some point during or prior to the show. Also good to see the designers stepping up that cover art! And let me tell ya, this story delivers on that cover. Half of it is a Jadzia and Kira adventure with mysteries, heists, danger, and a lot of really good background on the Dax symbiont. Loved that! Then Kira tagged out for Worf and Bashir, and that was alright. I wish it had been Jadzia and Kira all the way though.
Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (2023)
It's a nerds' tale through and through. Film nerds, occult nerds, horror nerds, and Moreno-Garcia blends it all skillfully. It doesn't hit as strongly as Mexican Gothic, but mysteries tend to be like that when they take place in a metropolis instead of the confines of a creepy mansion.
The Men by Sandra Newman (2023)
I liked the setup, and the premise, and I was mostly onboard until the finale really let me down. Maybe the idea is depressing to people, like it is to most characters in the story, but I saw hope in sticking with the reality of most of the book and making a better world of it. You grieve, you build anew. There was also some hand-wringing around race and gender tension from the main character that feels like it's meant to be considerate but is just channeling white anxiety about the optics of appearing racist instead recognizing racial bias and making changes to address it.
Aftermath by Christopher L. Bennett (2003)
Whoops, one more Star Trek book before the end of the year. I’d been meaning to read it for about a year and finally found some time with the digital copy from Open Library. Like the other SCE stories, it’s a short and sweet little tale. The thematic elements about a civilization’s collapse and hope for the future were just what I needed after reading some more downbeat stories.
Jekyll and Heidi by R.L. Stine (1999)
It was... okay. Not the strongest plot or twist, although notably darker in terms of setting up the main character's predicament. Kinda Dahlesque but without his absurdity.
"> THE JESTER" by Margaut Shorjian (2023)
Do it.
The Simpsons: Bart vs. Homersaurus dev. Tiger Electronics (1994)
These level-based LCD games are never as strong as the endless loops of their Game & Watch progenitors, but the tech is neat. Voice clips must've been an expensive proposition.
Dream Scenario dir. Kristoffer Borgli (2023)
You know, it is a weird movie, but the part where it digs into cancel culture felt off. Too real maybe. And even then, I just don't think it'll stick around in my brain.
Godzilla Minus One dir. Takashi Yamazaki (2023)
A great Godzilla story with a good balance of humans and monster. It's a big deal when I can care about the human side of a monster attack.
The Boy and the Heron dir. Hayao Miyazaki (2023)
It meanders and contemplates, kinda like The Wind Rises, but it's so beautiful and weird that it's easy to just roll with it.
The Abyss dir. James Cameron (1989)
So did Cameron just establish the genre of scifi that is working class stiffs who aren't trained for this being sent out into the deep end?
Eileen dir. William Oldroyd (2023)
It has that short story quality I can never quite describe. Like something unsettling I'd read in The New Yorker.
A Christmas Story dir. Bob Clark (1983)
1983?! This feels so ancient. Well, I'm glad I finally watched it all through instead of bits and pieces on TV.
Wonka dir. Paul King (2023)
I should watch a Paddington sometime.
Monster dir. Hirokazu Kore-eda (2023)
I wanna say it's a perfect movie. It has some dread but still has a hopeful vibe in the end.
Leave the World Behind dir. Sam Esmail (2023)
I guess I see why people responded to it, but I found it too bleak, and that's saying something. I guess I prefer these things to be a little further removed from the current timeline. *hugs The Outer Limits 1995*
The Polar Express dir. Robert Zemeckis (2004)
My nephew straight up performs the movie as he watches it, and that's about as memorable as a viewing can get.
The Muppet Christmas Carol dir. Brian Henson (1992)
Pretty good, but it can't top Muppet Treasure Island in my brain. The effects for some of those scenes are mighty impressive though.
Velvet Buzzsaw dir. Dan Gilroy (2019)
No one told me this was a horror movie! I'd have watched it sooner. It's an excellent high-budget version of an episode of Tales from the Crypt.
The 100 - "Perverse Instantiation – Part One" (2016)
I sorta picked up what the show is throwing down, but coming into at this late stage is not the way to watch an episode.
The 100 - "Perverse Instantiation – Part Two" (2016)
This episode was a little more clear as a season finale with defined stakes. It was enough that I'd watch this series at some point in the future.
The Crown - "Ipatiev House" (2022)
Sorta tuned in here, and it has big House of Cards vibes. I guess all this stuff about royals is the original HoC.
The Crown - "No Woman's Land" (2022)
Elizabeth Debicki is a great Diana. I don't know if I'm in the mood for sociopolitical interpersonal drama anytime soon, but this show seems to manage it all with aplomb.
The Outer Limits - "The Galaxy Being" (1963)
A bit snoozy I'll admit, but that's most TV of the era. Things really pick up when the well-designed alien kicks in. Those effects are impressive.
Night Gallery - "Pilot" (1969)
Whoa! This first episode is real good. I've heard the show has its ups and down since Serling didn't have the same level of creative control, but the pilot is just a great horror anthology film.
Babylon 5 - "The Gathering" (1993)
Hokey VFX and 90s-era production values aside, I can see the appeal of the show. I'll be fighting my instinct to go back and watch Star Trek the whole time but I'm glad to finally get into the show.

This blurb is an excerpt from the next chapter of Arcadia or Bust.
---
The woman appeared in the doorway. Hispanic descent, with black hair up in a messy bun. She had a nice leather jacket on and long acrylic nails, and she was smacking gum. “Jim,” She held out her hand. “Nice to meet you, though I’m sorry it had to be like this.”
Jim shook her hand as a nasty little voice in his head said, ‘this is the woman that broke up your parent’s marriage.’ He hastily hushed that voice with reason, ‘Cocaine is the real mistress.’
“James told me a little about your uh…condition.”
“I’m a troll, yes. Detective Scott knows. He’s a family friend.”
Detective Scott was right behind her, not willing to let her in unsupervised.
Jim cut to the point. “Do you know who did this?”
Rudy looked at the detective, and then back at Jim. “I have a hunch.”
Scott closed the door and ushered everyone into the living room. “Then let’s talk. This boyfriend of yours is the one responsible for the cocaine Jim accidently ingested, right?”
Rudy crossed her arms, screwing up her lips. She seemed to be carefully considering her words.
“Look, I really don’t care about James’ drug dealing habits at the moment. We have something more important. We have a kidnapped person, that person who’s a doctor and has patient’s lives to take care of. Now, will you speak?”
She looked severely agitated. “I ain’t no snitch. If they find out I talked, I’m next.” She tapped her foot. “I can’t believe they’d take her though. Goes against the rules. It ain’t right.”
“Rules?” Jim probed.
Rudy sighed. Getting answers from her would be like pulling teeth. “Our…suppliers. They have a code of conduct. One of the rules is not to disrespect another member’s family, that means wife or girlfriend…though I guess James is considered a deserter. So they either took her because she saw too much, or she’s collateral against his debt.”
“So where did they take her?”
Rudy shook her head. “Couldn’t say.”
“Then why did you come here?” Claire bit, her patience gone.
“Two reasons. To get James’ phone, and to let you know that there’s no point in looking for your mom.” She held her hand out.
“That phone is evidence in this investigation,” Scott stated.
“Ugh, figures. What are you gonna do? Arrest me? Go ahead. I ain’t scared of the feds.”
“I’m not going to arrest you,” Detective Scott said, slowly. “But I would strongly urge you to share what you know.”
It seemed like Rudy realized she was cornered. After a moment, she dejectedly sighed. “Fine. We’re working with La eMe.”
Detective Scott shut his eyes and bowed his head. “Shit.”
“Yeah, wasn’t that fun to hear?”
“What’s La eMe?” Asked Jim.
Rudy laughed. “You really are a good kid, aren’t you? La eMe is the Spanish name for the Mexican Mafia. It’s mostly a prison gang, that’s where they recruit. But once you’re in, you’re in for life.”
“So James doesn’t just owe a debt…”
“He made a blood oath.”
“Jesus Christ…” Detective Scott moaned. “Oh this just keeps getting better! Next, I bet you’re going to say your boss is Dante Lacasa!”
She merely raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t have to say it.”
Detective Scott started swearing and kicking the wall.

What were your thoughts on Kira and Flay's sex scene?
HOLA! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... 🤔
Man... let's see. So I've written before about how I'm not a fan of Flay, not because I can't sympathize with her character, but rather because she could have been a far more interesting character given her plight.
In a nutshell, my problem with Flay is (and will always be) that she's written like a tacky Mexican telenovela villainess...
Tumblr media
There's literally a scene with Flay doing the same tacky and cliché, maniacal evil laughter but I was too lazy to find it.
So her scene with Kira feels just as tacky as the trope.
A bit more word vomit under the cut, but since you're asking about a s3x scene, be warned that it's not necessarily pg13 under the cut...
So a few things to keep in mind about my answer:
I am all for s3x positivity which is ironically exactly why I am censoring the damn word so I don't necessarily think the scene was "bad" or inappropriate in and of itself because of the "mature" content given the intended audience.
Tumblr media
Also I'm going to censor the word s3x because Tumblr will censor the post otherwise and it's not like I'm necessarily going to show you any of the explicit pics of Kira and Flay I accidentally found to answer your ask.
Ok but back to my thoughts.
First. Literally, Mexican telenovela villainesses are notorious for sleeping with the mc in order to manipulate him because the trope reduces men to mindless pigs who can be easily manipulated because they only care about s3x.
Tumblr media
Omg look at him struggle LOL. Bonus points if she "accidentally" gets pregnant so that she can ensnare the dude into her machiuvelical plans.
So that's my biggest bone to pick with the scene. It reduces both Kira and Flay to cheap tropes, and it's misandrist and misogynistic to boot.
Oddly enough, this is not to say that it isn't realistic to think that Flay would use s3x to manipulate Kira, but rather that the writers are so lazy in their writing that I don't feel like I had a reason to care.
By lazy I mean that the writers only ever scratch the surface of the tropes and never really bother to subvert expectations.
Second, I strongly dislike Chad Kira Yamato and I have no qualms being openly critical about how much I dislike how his character is written. The writers attempt to portray Kira as a sensitive and highly competent dude, except he comes across as a cry-baby with God-like abilities. He's so op that he's incredibly unrelatable as a character.
Yes, Athrun is my fave but I'll be the first to admit he isn't exactly superbly written. But Kira? I find him insufferable. Please forgive me if you're a fan of his.
All that to say that I like to think that there's a girl out there who was banged rather poorly because some teenage boy saw Gundam Seed and bought into the lie that all he has to do is idk hammer a girl like a jackrabbit with his dick and she'll have the time of her life.
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, what I'm trying to say here is that the scene is an unrealistic portrayal of teenage s3x or s3x in general because the Gundam Seed writers romanticize Kira as a God in bed. I guess being a coordinator gives your dick magic powers idk.
Also, I understand the scene isn't so explicit in the original anime that aired on TV and that it only got expanded upon in the remastered version. Not sure of how true this is, but consider the camera angles in the scene...
Tumblr media
Talk about a self-insert fantasy: Sensitive guy gets to bang the hot girl.
So this makes the scene feel gratuitous at best. Again, I can see how it contributes to the plot in the sense that Flay was scared and wanted to manipulate Kira and maybe she also needed someone to hold (which, she conveniently ignored her actual fiancé)... but idk, it feels more like self-insert fanservice than actual commentary.
Third, I personally did not find the scene hot. Like at all.
There's no physical or emotional chemistry between the characters, and therefore no impetus for me to care.
Why is that? Because the writers only ever scratch the surface of the tropes they're relying on.
Would I think otherwise if it was Athrun and Cagalli instead? Probably since I am emotionally invested in their ship. So, yes, I am biased.
But that's kind of my point. Athrun and Cagalli had an arc as a pairing where we got to see them come together in the middle. But we don't really get that with Kira and Flay.
So the writers trying to portray tenderness in the scene feels disingenuous because of the lack of chemistry between the characters.
Tumblr media
I know that these are different dynamics, but the s3x scenes in Tokyo Ghoul:re, Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai, and x/1999 are what I would consider hot.
Tumblr media
But that's because the authors went out of their way to flesh out the dynamics not just beautifully, but in such a way that I am invested as an audience in the chemistry between the characters and how their relationship evolves.
I think Tokyo Ghoul:re specifically does a really good job portraying both how awkward s3x can be and how intense it can feel when there is an emotional connection present.
Tumblr media
Gundam Seed could never portray this because it never explores anything in depth... at all... pun not intended.
What's more... I highly doubt Gundam Seed can portray s3xual tension in all of its glory because at the core of s3xual tension is emotion and emotional resonance.
Tumblr media
But Gundam Seed never takes the time to go deep enough into the character dynamic between Flay and Kira because it spends 3/4s of the series rehashing the same plot--ZAFT chasing after and attacking the Archangel.
What is disappointing is that, in a ship that had so much potential for toxic yumminess, Kira x Flay fell flat on its face.
Bah. Honestly, there's a character in Jujutsu Kaisen who shares the same trope as Flay (girl who gets dragged into circumstances beyond her control and acts accordingly) who is also not explored in full earnest, but is still written a thousand times better than Flay.
So all in all, the only one who suffers for Gundam Seed's lazy writing is Flay and all of the potential her character had. Instead, she got reduced to a girl who enjoys getting banged by magic coordinator dick.
RIP Flay.
Thanks for reaching out! Again, please forgive me if you like this pairing. I try to be respectful of what other people like, but I have a hard time not expressing how much I dislike the way Gundam Seed handled its cast.

Hola Pedro!
I was watching Narcos today and thinking about how I've been trying to learn spanish off and on for about 10 years now. I did really well in my two years of high school spanish, and I took 2 years in college as well. I can use present tense and say things like "I love you" and "My head hurts," but I can't have an actual conversation.
I was also thinking about how much my experience of Narcos would be improved if I was bilingual. I know enough to catch spoken phrases that don't quite match the subtitles, and I'm sure the subs match decently well to the dialogue, but it would be cool to actually understand it.
I've been trying to learn spanish and what I realized is that, despite having a natural talent for language in general, I'm too lazy to commit. It takes a lot of work to learn and maintain the knowledge of a language. I have the desire to do so, but not strongly enough to consistently put in the work. Blame it on my mental illnesses or lack of intrinsic motivation.
I also think it would be hard to learn because I have no one to speak spanish with. I live in a very white area... like seeing a person of color at the dollar store causes a double take level white area. I taught high school for a little over a year, and during that time I had a student. A refugee from El Salvador. I tried really hard to communicate with him in spanish (we had terrible ESL resources), sitting with him and explaining things in broken spanish -- all in present tense, very basic vocabulary, probably using words completely incorrectly -- but I could tell he really appreciated that someone was genuinely trying to connect with him. Idk language is beautiful like that I guess.
When I was in high school, I found out about this poet from Chile -- Pablo Neruda. I obviously couldn't read his poems in Spanish, so I read them in English. I posed this one on my facebook all the way back in 2013 (I was 14 years old) that went something like "I love you like this because I don't know any other way to love, except in this form in which I am not nor are you, so close that your hand upon my chest is mine, so close that your eyes close with my dreams." I really latched on to this poem because as a teen, you love like that. You become the other person, immerse yourself in them, lose your own sense of self... I love that poem so much I put an excerpt in my wedding vows. My now husband bought me book of Neruda poems -- spanish on the left, english on the right -- and gave it to me on our second date, the day after my 20th birthday. I think that's when I fell in love with him.
I wish I could read Neruda in Spanish. I wish I could do more than sound out the words, look up the translation on google. I want to feel the words, bone deep, like I do in English. There's always something lost in translation. I hate that feeling of missing out. And I've always had this driving desire to know things, based on a deeper-seated desperation to be the smartest person in the room (or at least among them).
I like yell "te quiero" at my husband and "Eres guapo!" and "esta muy bonito." I have a cat named Amigo. We found him outside a mexican restaurant (it's worse here than in new york) and named him after the restaurant. I love calling him Amigito, my little friend. These are my bastardized love letters to the language of Spanish. I don't know why I have this fascination or where it came from. Maybe Neruda did it to me. Maybe my desire to communicate and be understood. Shit maybe it's just because latinas/os are so goddamn sexy i don't know.
These letters are never going to make much sense to anyone but me and the fictional you that is reading them. But I need someone to understand, even if it's just in my head.
Atentamente,
G.

deities chart series (october special) LA SANTA MUERTE
hii guys i’m so very excited to announce my new special october series! in this series i’ll be analyzing & making observations about different deities birth chart :-) each day of october i’ll post a different deity along with their chart info incase you guys would like to observe their chart aswell <333
L A S A N T A M U E R T E
La Santa Muerte is a Mexican folk saint or known in english as "The Holy Death" dating back to the 1940s. Many mistaken her as Mictecacihuatl, the Aztec Goddess of Death or some even mistaken Santa as La Calavera Catrina.
I created Santa's chart from her "birthdate" and Mictecacihuatl's birthyear.
T H E C H A R T
Sun - Scorpio 9° 9H
Moon - Scorpio 10° 9H
Mercury - Scorpio 24° 10H R
Venus - Sag 26° 11H
Mars - Scorpio 18° 10H
Jupiter - Scorpio 3° 9H
Saturn - Capricorn 17° 12H
Uranus - Taurus 14° 4H R
Neptune - Aqua 26° 1H R
Pluto - Capricorn 5° 12H
North Node(M) - Taurus 21° 4H R
Lilith(M) - Virgo 15° 8H
Chiron - Aqua 3° 1H
Fortune - Aqua 3° 1H
Vertex - Virgo 8° 8H
Elements:
2X Fire 3X Earth 1X Air 12X Water
M Y F A V O R I T E P L A C E M E N T S O F S A N T A
Lilith - Virgo 8H
Obsession with death, just explains Santa's whole persona! (I do too also have a Virgo Lilith and I'm a Devotee! Maybe this is a thing with devotees? )
Chiron - Aqua 1H
Just shows more reasons to always show gratitude to Santa! This placement represents the rejection and hatred society tends to give Santa. How much good she does and gets so little back. It also explains how the connection you build w Santa can build your appreciation for the little things.
Neptune - Aqua 1H
I feel like majority deities have this placement. This placement strongly correlates to Santa because of her 7 potenicas (robe colors) , they represent how she is all and nothing at the same time. ALSO REPRESENTS HER PERSONA AS WELL!
Uranus - Taurus 4H
This placements represents all of the diversity among Santa's hijos (devotees). Typically majority of us devotees tend to call eachother hermana y hermano (sisters and brothers) because Santa is a mother figure to all of us. So its cool to see us literally living in Santa's birthchart. This placement also represents how Santa knows her worth. Many viewers paint Santa as a "jealous" deity when in reality, she just knows everything you're looking for in other deities IS ALSO IN HER! (Also correlates Moon 9H & water dominance)
Pluto - Capricorn 12H
This placement just shows how powerful Santa is. As we all know Pluto tells you how your enemies shall fall beneath. Well Pluto in 12H is pretty powerful if you ask me, Pluto 12H indicates karmic influences that cannot be controlled , meaning if you fw Santa , she doesn't play nice.
Aspects:
Sextile Sun (3° Seperating)
Sextile Jupiter (4° Seperating)
Sextile Jupiter (2° Applying)
North Node - Taurus 4H ~ South Node - Scorpio 10H
Represents how much joy Santa finds in her devotees. Shows hos much happiness and light , love we give to her. This is why showing gratitude to her roots is also very important because her roots are VERY important to her. Also shows her protectiveness she has for her devotees.
Aspects:
Opposition Mercury (2° Applying)
Opposition Mars (3° Applying)
Trine Saturn (4° Applying)
Square Neptune (4° Seperating)
------
Guys unfortunately I ran out of space to enter the rest of my observations. So let me know in the comments if you want a PT2, however this series is a every day thing so comment the next Deity's chart you wanna see! Love you guys <333 Mean it,
Also please don't plagiarize my idea of this series, consult with me first if you have gain inspo ( insta : bludspalt )

One of his hands roams your thigh, while the other arm has wrapped your waist. Sitting on his lap, you're enjoying another long talk about funny stories that happened in different runs with the crew. The yard is starting to get emptied deep in the night, until left the original Mayans and some of Vicki's girls. You are a little bit drunk as a skunk, just like Taza who is enraptured on the way his fingertips get slided over your bare skin.
“Hey, Vice”.
A mexican girl interrupts Bishop's story, walking towards the sitted group, swaggering her body and trying to be sensual. You are about to laugh, Angel and Coco too.
“I thought I could give you a… ‘goodbye’ before leaving”. She says, stopping some inches away from your position.
Now, you are laughing, getting up to roll to Bishop's lap. Che frowns at you, before leading his angry orbs to the other girl.
“No, thank you… I prefer to waste my time trying to fuck her, instead of fucking you”.
Silence. He is drunk, but he's talking seriously.
“C'mon, kid, get that dick”. El Presidente breaks into laughs, pushing you away from him back to the Vice, as if you were a ball and they were playing.
“GET THE APACHE D! GET THE APACHE D”.
The people left in the yard start to sing in chorus, making you flush, puckering your lips at the oldest man there.
“What? My mother didn't raise a liar”.
“Do I look like a drunk-one-night-stand for your pleasure, Che?”
“I didn't say that”.
Rolling your eyes, you already know that your night has ended. Staggering a little, you go to the inside of the clubhouse, looking for your bag and your leather jacket to leave for your house. If you are so close to him is not to get the ‘Apache D’. Not at all. You have true feelings for him and, if this kind of relationship is enough for you, now you are pissed off by knowing that he just wants a night with you. As if you were a trophy for him.
“You are not leaving”.
You hear his voice behind you, upset and with a light tone of sarcasm in it.
“Yeah, I'm fucking leaving, Che. I don' wanna see your fucking face right now”.
Turning around, you try to pass him away, but he takes you off the keys of your car.
“You can't be this dummy, can you?” He says narrowing his eyes, and stretching the hand over his head to pull the keys away from you. “I don't want just a… whatever night you said. I'm too drunk to repeat again your tongue twister, Mary Poppins”.
“I'm gonna punch you in the face”.
“Respect your elders, chamaca”. He tries to look offended, surrounding your waist with his free arm. “C'mon… (Y/N). Why is this hard to believe that I love you, ah? I'm nuts about you”.
“Do you even know what you are saying?”
“Kinda like. I heard that from the prospect, and I wanted to use it with you, 'cause you like squirrels”.
You can't help but chuckle, while Taza takes off your bag and also grabs your jacket.
“Stay with me, please…” He whispers, pulling himself away to place your things on a sofa. “Look, I'm a traditional man. I will bring you breakfast at bed, even having a hangover”.
“Yeah, you're a fuddy-duddy”.
“The fuck is that?” He laughs loud, putting his hands on you again to embrace your body against him.
“Nothing, forget it”. You reply almost hiccuping, noticing that he is leading you backwards to the dorms hallway.
“Look at you, so drunk to drive”.
“Yeah, what a shame”. You laugh reaching his dorm, opening the door behind you to tuck you in.
As soon as he closes it, his mouth meets yours, devouring it lustfully while your hands travel to the folds of his kutte to take it off. Leaving a trail of clothes to the bed, he urges you to lie down over it, settling himself between your legs. Drawing a way down from your jaw to your breasts, his tongue finds one of your nipples, tasting it as if it was the best thing he has ever tried. Your gasps break the silence installed inside the room, stirring under his touches in the meantime that his free hand paws your abdomen, running it down to your center. Slamming two curved fingers into you, making you arch your back, you can't help but close your eyes and moan loud. Probably, the crew has heard you, but you don't care.
“Shit, baby girl… you're fucking drenched”.
He purrs against your nipple, speeding up the moves of his wrist, hitting your pussy with his palm and provoking a dirty sound rhythm your begs. And when you think he can't worship your body better, he bows until his lips strongly suck your throbbing clit.
“Oh, fuck!” You cry out with a sob, putting your legs over his back.
His warm breath bristles your whole anatomy, determinate to make you cum in his mouth, adhered to your sensible skin. Adding a third finger without expecting, Taza makes your thighs vibrate on his shoulders, fixing his eyes on yours, rolled back to your head. Your vocals getting louder, flood the room and half-part of the hallway, not wanting to contain yourself after so much time desiring it. His tongue licks your entrance, over his fingers, drinking your juices and tasting them, until he feels your wet pussy twitching under every stroke his lips make.
“Cum for me, chamaca, I wanna hear you screaming my name”. He demands among your legs, before catching again your clit with his lips.
The sensation of sucking the air out of your lungs so desperate, that provokes a lash of heat hits your backbone leaving a trail that flows into your belly. Tangling your hands on the gray hair, you can't help but press his face more closer to your center. Pulling out his hand from you, Taza nails both on your hips, putting his arms under your legs. His tongue moving faster itself among your lips, tasting on purpose every inch of you, you find the purest orgasm, crying out his first name; so uninhibited that it ends up ripping you throat.
You can feel his chuckles making your skin vibrate, going up until finding your lips. Getting more comfortable between your shaky legs, the Mayan kisses you, tucking his tongue inside your mouth to let you taste your own flavor mixed with the tequila you two have drunk. And it's really delicious, feeling his waist slightly swinging against your throbbing and satisfied center, but wanting a little more. Sliding down a hand between both, he guides the head of his cock straight to your pussy, not giving you a breath; when he's already thrusting it to your limits.
“Fuck, Che”.
You whisper running out of air onto his lips.
“I'm going to do it every night, mi amor”. He replies, noticing how deep his voice sounds right now, enchanting completely your brain. “Feels good, ah?”
You just nod with your throat totally dry, gulping and intertwining your legs with his.
“You will enjoy it much more, you will see…” He says then, with his mouth over your ear, biting your lobe before starting to swing his hips.
Every move is accurate, hitting your g-spot with no mercy, looking for your pleasure totally enraptured in the way you have to grunt his name. One of his arms is placed under your body, holding you tightly, while his right hand is wrapping your neck making some pressure over your skin. His pace is fast and constant, not giving you the chance to mold your walls to his thickness, in the meantime that Che drags his teeth on your collarbone until biting you. Your nails tour his back, almost scratching it superficially, begging for more as he pounds you against the mattress.
Grabbing your wrists with his right hand, to fix them on the pillow over your head, he speeds up as much as he can, giving to your body a reason to squirm because of his anxious lunges. Feeling how warm your soaked pussy, it's driving him crazy. And maybe the alcohol plays a part of it, but it's insane the way he has to mark you everywhere, anyhow possible, as if he was needed for making everyone know that you're only his. Only for him.
“Fuck… I'm close again”. You sob, with his teeth nailed on your neck and his tongue doing some circular moves.
He knows it. He can feel it, that's why he hasn't slowed down his pace. Che wants to put you in your sweetest dreams after being fully pleased. Wrapping his waist with one of your legs, you try to push him a little more into you, burying deep his cock in your wetness. A knot growing up inside your belly, leaving your mind blank, blows up your senses. Loosening the grip on your wrists, you clings your arms around him. Your moans echo matching his, as your core continues engulfing his hardness until you feel his heat filling you up, drowning a hoarse howl in the gap of your shoulder.
Taza holds his body against you, pressed strongly, emptying himself inside you. Mixing your ecstasies and melting yourselves in one. Collapsing onto your chest, he hugs you with a sigh stuck in his vocal chords, drawing the same relaxed smile on his lips that you have. Pulling himself out, feeling his seed spilling by your thighs, he lies down trying to catch back his air. After some seconds and leaving a soft kiss on your cheek, the man gets up without a word wearing his boxers to step out of the room. You can't even move a single inch, resting your hands on your belly, until he comes back. Helping you to clean up all the mess with a warm wet towel, Taza falls down on the bed, holding you onto him and filling your face with sleepy kisses that make you laugh.
“Congratulations, you had the whole Apache pack”.
Your laughs become loud, stirring softly under his arms.
“You idiot…”
“Ranch included”. He tosses in, adding more gasoline to the fire.
“Che!”
Now, you can't stop laughing, infecting him and shaking your head.

Hello I'm a baby witch just starting out so im worried this question may seem a little dumb but, is it possible to see glimpses of the lives of other people through dreams? I ask this because I recently dreamt of two things happening to people I know, as if I was them in there memories (its hard to explain). The first of these things came true. If there is, is there a way to stop this? I feel terrible for invading others private thoughts.
~~ Welcome to my World ~~
Tumblr media
Im stoked to get to talk about this more.
So a good handful of us in the witchy community (and many who dont realize it) have clairvoyant dreams or visions like what you're describing. Some people more than others. It may be a skill, a one time or occasional fluke, a message from a particular being, something you got a hint of, or for me it's in the blood. In my case it runs in the family and manifest very strongly, and it can be very traumatic at times.
( Trigger warning for mention of violence ahead) In a dream I once witnessed a school shooting in a foreign country and when I woke up and turned on the news guess what was on? It had happened in Palestine around the same time I had been having the dream and I watched the moments right as it began to happen. I wont go into detail of the dream because they are bone chilling and deeply unsettling but it messed me up for a long time. (Warning over)
But thats just one gloomy example of when it was very strong and I also struggled with it. I can't tell you how it'll manifest for you. For most it's just a rare occasional happening or an active effort, something that comes with time as you develop your intuition and witchcraft. Often there is an external source providing the dreams. For me, I've never really ran into anyone outside of the family who has abilities in quite the same way as I do but Ive heard of them. Usually called Oracles. ( Fuck psychics- I've met a few who use this title and they're all insufferable.) I have non-practicing people who don't even know I'm a witch often calling me a witch and/or recommending me to people for advise on a situations. I'm the person you go to when you got tea. It's in part why I think my tarot buisness has been so overwhelmingly sucessful, although it still suprises me.
I'm the stinky old man wearing 100% wool who hobbles out of the crowd to tell you that your friends suck and you should hide the knives. Not that many people listen to me- until they realize they should have. Thats another shitty part about being an oracle and the reason behind One Eye Too Many, the ability is next to useless because no one ever listens to me until things are just about unfixable. Although, historically that checks out.
Anyway, unfortunately there isnt much I know you can do but use it. I haven't learned how to turn it off so instead I put it to use with subtle hints. For example I had a dream my grandmother's car was going to explode so the next morning I casually called and mentioned to grandpa to check her oil and sure enough there was a major leak. Not all of it will be death and gloom and certainly your experience of it will be different than mine. I've also predidicted light hearted stuff like my friend chopping off all her hair and getting a "may I speak to the manager cut", my friends sperm donor father being Mexican, and another friend marrying an Asian. Stuff that we laugh about at the time as extremely unlikely or silly that later comes true long after we've stopped thinking about it.
Tl;dr: My main consesus on this is that, to my knowledge, you can't make it go away but you can learn to make peace with it.

I'm a Silicon Valley liberal, and I traveled across the country to interview 100 Trump supporters — here's what I learned
After the election, I decided to talk to 100 Trump voters from around the country. I went to the middle of the country, the middle of the state, and talked to many online.
This was a surprisingly interesting and helpful experience — I highly recommend it. With three exceptions, I found something to like about everyone I talked to (though I strongly disagreed with many of the things they said). Although it shouldn't have surprised me given the voting data, I was definitely surprised by the diversity of the people I spoke to — I did not expect to talk to so many Muslims, Mexicans, Black people, and women in the course of this project.
Almost everyone I asked was willing to talk to me, but almost none of them wanted me to use their names — even people from very red states were worried about getting "targeted by those people in Silicon Valley if they knew I voted for him." One person in Silicon Valley even asked me to sign a confidentiality agreement before she would talk to me, as she worried she'd lose her job if people at her company knew she was a strong Trump supporter.
I wanted to understand what Trump voters liked and didn't like about the president, what they were nervous about, what they thought about the left's response so far, and most importantly, what would convince them not to vote for him in the future.
Obviously, this is not a poll, and not 'data.' But I think narratives are really important.
Here's what I heard.
The TL;DR quote is this:
"You all can defeat Trump next time, but not if you keep mocking us, refusing to listen to us, and cutting us out. It's Republicans, not Democrats, who will take Trump down."
What do you like about Trump?
"He is not politically correct." Note: This sentiment came up a lot, probably in at least a third of the conversations I had.
"He says true but unpopular things. If you can't talk about problems, you can't fix them."
"I'm a Jewish libertarian who's [sic] grandparents were Holocaust survivors. Over the last few years the mainstream left has resorted to name-calling and character assassination, instead of debate, any time their positions are questioned. This atmosphere became extremely oppressive and threatening to people, like myself, who disagreed with many of Obama's policies over the past several years. Intelligent debate has become rare."
"It's a lot like political discussion was in Soviet Union, actually. I think the inability to acknowledge obvious truths, and the ever-increasing scope of these restrictions makes it particularly frustrating. And personally, for whatever reason, I find inability to have more subtle discussion very frustrating — things are not white or black, but you can't talk about greys since the politically correct answer is white."
"He is anti-abortion." Note: This sentiment came up a lot. A number of people I spoke to said they didn't care about anything else he did and would always vote for whichever candidate was more anti-abortion.
"I like that he puts the interests of Americans first. American policy needs to be made from a position of how Americans benefit from it, as that is the role of government."
"He is anti-immigration." Note: This sentiment came up a lot. The most surprising takeaway for me how little it seemed to be driven by economic concerns, and how much it was driven by fears about "losing our culture," "safety," "community," and a general Us-vs.-Them mentality.
"He will preserve our culture. Preservation of culture is considered good in most cases. What's wrong with preserving the good parts of American culture?"
"He's not Hillary Clinton."
"I'm Mexican. I support the wall. The people who have stayed have destroyed Mexico, and now they want to get out and cause damage here. We need to protect our borders, but now any policy is like that is called racist. Trump was the first person willing to say that out loud."
"I am socially very liberal. I am fiscally very conservative. I don't feel I have a party — never have. I grew up in a more socially conservative time and picked the "lesser of two evils" during elections. Now, the more socially liberal side supports bigger governments, more aid and support and that money has to come from somewhere. I see what's deducted from my check each week. I'm OK with never being rich but I'd like more security and that doesn't come from more government spending."
"We need borders at every level of our society."
"I'm willing to postpone some further social justice progress, which doesn't really result in loss of life, in favor of less foreign policy involvement, the opposite of which does."
"Brown people are always the out-crowd. I think subconsciously, part of the reason I supported him was a way to be in the in-crowd for once."
What don't you like about him?
"The way he talks about women is despicable."
"Everything about his style. We only voted for him because this election was too important to worry about style."
"I don't like most things about him. The way it worked is we got to choose one of two terrible options."
"I think our nation needs Trumpism to survive long term, and to me that supersedes almost every other reservation I have. My issue is with Trump himself — I think he's the wrong vessel for his movement, but he's all we've got so I'm behind him."
"I think the rollout of the immigration executive order is emblematic of a clusterfuck, to be completely frank."
"I now believe the Muslim ban actually makes us less safe."
"Isolationism and protectionism at this point is insane. We've done that before."
"I, too, worry about the dishonesty. His relationship with Russia, his relationship with women. His relationship with questionable financial matters. These all worry me and were they to continue I would lose all respect."
"He continually plays into a character that he has created to rile his fan base. Accepting anti-semitism, white nationalism, or hate emanating unnecessarily, creates a vacuum of fear on social media, on television, and around the dinner table. Even though the policies may be similar to that of any recent Republican President, the behavior to act so immaturely sets a bad example for children and undercuts many cultural norms, which more than anything causes disruption to our sociological foundations."
"I hate that he discredits the press all the time. That seems to forebode great evil."
What are you nervous about with Trump as president?
"The thing I'm most worried about is war, and that he could destroy the whole world. I think I may have underestimated that risk, because he is more of an alpha strongman that I realized when I voted for him. Otherwise I still like him." Note: Most people weren't that worried about war. More frequent comments were along these lines:
"I know he's taking strong positions on certain foreign issues, but I feel in negotiations you need to do things to move the needle and when a whole country is watching its hard to keep a poker face, but at least his business track record overall gives us reason to believe ultimately stability will prevail."
and
"He's crazy, but it's a tactic to get other nations not to mess with us."
"I worry he will drive us apart as a nation. I believed him when he said that would stop with the campaign, but I haven't seen signs of it so far."
"I am nervous that his mental health is actually bad."
"I worry he is actually going to roll back social change we've fought so hard for. But I hope not."
What do you think about the left's response so far?
"You need to give us an opportunity to admit we may have been wrong without saying we're bad people. I am already thinking I made a mistake, but I feel ostracized from my community."
"The left is more intolerant than the right." Note: This concept came up a lot, with real animosity in otherwise pleasant conversations.
"Stop calling us racists. Stop calling us idiots. We aren't. Listen to us when we try to tell you why we aren't. Oh, and stop making fun of us."
"I'd love to see one-tenth of the outrage about the state of our lives out here that you have for Muslims from another country. You have no idea what our lives are like."
"I'm so tired of hearing about white privilege. I'm white, but way less privileged than a black person from your world. I have no hope my life will ever get any better."
"I am tired of feeling silenced and demonized. We have mostly the same goals, and different opinions about how to get there. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you're wrong. But enough with calling all of us the devil for wanting to try Trump. I hate Hillary and think she wants to destroy the country of us but I don't demonize her supporters."
"I'm angry that they're so outraged now, but were never outraged over an existing terrible system."
"The attacks against Trump have taught me something about myself. I have defended him and said things I really didn't believe or support because I was put in a defensive position. Protesters may have pushed many people in this direction BUT it is ultimately our responsibility and must stop."
"I'd like to also add that the demonization of Trump by calling him and his supporters: Nazis, KKK, white supremacists, fascists, etc. works very well in entrenching Trump supporters on his side. These attacks are counter-factual and in my opinion very helpful to Trump."
"So far his election has driven our nation apart. So far I see most of the divisiveness coming from the left. Shame on them. I don't see it quite as bad as during Nixon's era but we are truly headed in that direction. I could not speak with my parents during that time because political division would intrude. This Thanksgiving and holiday season were as close as I've felt to that in 40 years. We are increasingly polarized. It doesn't seem to be strictly generational, though that exists. There is an east coast-west coast, rural vs. urban, racial, and gender division forming now. It has the potential to be devastating."
"The amount of violent attacks and economic attacks perpetrated by the left are troublesome. My wife and I recently moved to the Bay Area. I was expecting a place which was a welcoming meritocracy of ideas. Instead, I found a place where everyone constantly watches everyone else for any thoughtcrime."
"Silicon Valley is incredibly unwelcoming to alternative points of view. Your curiosity, if it is sincere, is the very rare exception to the rule."
"There is something hypocritical about the left saying the are uniters not dividers, they are inclusive and then excluding half the population with comments on intelligence and irrelevance in the modern world."
What would convince you not to vote for him again?
"War would be unforgivable."
"If the Russia thing were true, I'd turn against him. Why don't y'all focus on that instead of his tweets?"
"Give us a better option, and we'll be happy. But it needs to be a moderate — Sanders won't win."
"I'll happily vote for someone else. There's a lot I hate about Trump. But our lives are basically destroyed, and he was the first person to talk about fixing that."
"Generally hard to say. Extreme corruption would do it."
Second person in the same conversation: "I don't care if he's corrupt. Y'all voted for Hillary and she was the most corrupt candidate of all time."
"Another worry is an escalation of overreaches between him and the left that culminates in the breakdown of our system of law. I'd hold him responsible for that."
"If he were to get the US involved in a major military conflict (I think the odds of this have actually decreased versus Hillary, but I'm willing to be proven wrong). If he were to substantially increase the cost of doing business (by increasing regulation or taxes for instance)."
"I'm socially very liberal. If he were to do something like restart a war on drugs, try to restrict rights of LGBT, or make first trimester abortions difficult or dangerous, I'd rethink my position. I think these type of things are extremely unlikely though, especially with an election a few years away the country as a whole becoming more socially liberal."
"I think if 2008 happened again (further into Trump's tenure, so that causation can be shown, hypothetically), the base would evaporate."
"Based on Trump's history before politics I don't believe he is racist, sexist, homophobic or bigoted. If that were true it would supersede everything else since it would be even worse for individual liberty and freedom than any freedom of speech restrictions or increases in government size proposed by the Democratic Party."

“Please, don't do that. Let me go”. With both hands raised to the man, you tried to push him away.
“No”. He just said with a naughty smile drawn on his lips, before grabbing your wrists to lift you up over his shoulder like a heavy bag, walking to the main room of the house.
“Let me go!” You shouted stirring over him, until you felt your body falling down over the mattress.
Sitting up on your forearms, you blow into a rebellious tuft of hair in the middle of your face, frowning. You couldn't barely breathe because of the efforts, watching the man crawling above the bed.
“I swear I'm gonna kill you”.
“Will you?” He asked, twisting his neck slightly, pouncing on you to tickle you on both sides.
“Canche, stop!” You screamed between laughs, trying to catch his hands while he made himself some space between your legs.
“C'mon, five minutes more, princesa de los Mayas”. The mexican surrounded you with his strong arms, resting his face on your stomach.
“My father is gonna kill us, if he finds out”.
“Just five minutes more”. He begged almost in a whisper, closing his eyes.
“I hate you”. You growled rolling your eyes, pretending that you didn't want to spend some time more together.
“I'm glad to know that it's something reciprocated”. The Mayan muttered, moving some inches until reaching your lips.
Tangling your legs with his and placing your hands on his head, you deepened the kiss, keeping the slow pace but welcoming his tongue inside your mouth. Every time you were this close, he had the same effect on you like the first time, bristling your skin and needing for more. You could assure that he was so in love with you, as you were with him. And you would like to shout it to the rooftops. But that wasn't an option. Not for the moment, at least.
“I know that… you can't call me”. You said caressing his neck with one of your hands, using your nails to made him some sweet tickles. “But… two weeks is too much. Maybe… I don't know… a text, to know that you're okay”.
“I will try, mi amor. I swear it”. He replied with a low tone of voice, accommodating his head on the pillow. “And when I come back, we will disappear for some days. We can go to the beach, if you want”.
“Sounds good, yeah”. You nodded assorted on the way of his lips moving, totally spellbound hearing his voice.
The man took back his hands to undone the clasp of the fine gold chain, with a small medal of the Virgen de Guadalupe. Silent, and very focused on his new task, he placed it around your neck. You knew how much he loved that necklace, being a gift from his mother who passed away some years ago. Giving it to you meant more than anyone could imagine, and you would swear you were about to cry if he hasn't kissed you again.
You have never been a believer, but you started to pray every night for him, to keep him safe and alive. It has been two long weeks, with a trip that started in Southern Cali to Stockton and Oakland, continuing to Portland. And after that, back to Santo Padre. One of the trips more dangerous of Mayans history, with a shipment of AK-47, even if they were accompanied by some SOA charters. But the day of their return has come and, with it, all your men. At least, you know it when you see through the front window of your car all the bikes parked there. The first you find is your father's. Next to it, Canche's.
Almost jumping out from your seat, you run like never before to the inside of the clubhouse. But the situation that welcomes you is chaotic. You open the door on time to watch Bishop tackling your boyfriend. A storm of hits and kicks is around everywhere, while the other Mayans stare at you almost frowning. You don't need to be a genius to know what is happening. Grabbing Ibarra's gun, being aware that no one is going to stop the fight, you point at the roof to fire it. The bullet impacting on it, calls everyone's attention. The two men on the floor are breathing violently, blood on their faces and angry gestures. Then, you point at them.
“The next one throwing a punch, juro por la Virgen that I'm gonna shot his brain off”.
The men separate from each other, standing up over their feet and shaking their clothes.
“How much time have you been together?” Your father asks, cleaning a brief red thread flowing from his bottom lip. His eyes are filled with rage.
“Why does it matter, dad?”
“Because I asked you for one last thing, and you shitted on it”.
“Do you think I made it on purpose? That I chose it?”
“You betrayed me. And you lied to me”.
“For God's sake… Ain't gonna talk about it in front of all these men”.
“We don't have anything else to talk about. You already took a decision”.
You just nod, one time. Stretching your arm to Ibarra, you give him back his gun.
“Doing the same shit that your mother did”.
His whisper doesn't go unnoticed to your ears, taking a step ahead when he's about to unlock himself inside the Templo.
“You pushed mom away, just like you are doing with me. If you are alone, if you are losing the only people who really love you, it's because of you, padre. Because of your jealousy, because of your inflexibility, because of your egocentrism complex”.
Bishop doesn't turn, but suddenly stops his heavy feet.
“(Y/N), don't talk to your father like that”. Canche says, frowning at you.
“Truth fucks you up, right?” You say raising your chin. “Love doesn't mean to hurt, dad. And sometimes I feel that you stab my chest. That you suffocate me. I feel alone the whole time, and you don't really know what it feels like, because I'm always by your side. But you weren't for me when I needed you the most. So don't blame me for choosing a man who cares about me, without asking anything back, over you”.
It has been the worst weeks of your life. You were sure that you were suddenly and inevitably falling into a dark depression, when you realized that you haven't gone out of Canche's house since you came. Mostly, you are tucked in his bed, grabbing the pillow as strongly as you can, wetting it with your tormented tears. A prospect was accompanying you all the time that your boyfriend was away from your side.
“How is the kid?”
Taza gets up from his chair, before Canche can leave the Templo. He turns around crossing his arms over his chest.
“Who asks?”
No one replies.
“She isn't happy, if you wanna know it”. His eyes are on Bishop's. “She cries most of the day. Hardly eats anything. And I can't remember how her laugh sounds”.
Your boyfriend is about to continue his steps, but he stops again.
“And I had to take her to the hospital some days ago, because she has a panic attack”.
“Maybe if you di—”.
“Don't you dare to add me in your equation, Bishop. This is your fault, not mine. I care about her. I love her. And I want to spend my life with her. I'm not trying to steal your daughter from you. I'm not asking her to leave you. I was even about to delegate my position as Presidente, and ask for a change of charter to be close to her. To come to Santo Padre, so she wouldn't have to leave her family”. His voice sounds firmly, blunt. “You are losing your daughter because of you, not because of me”.
Canche doesn't want to waste more time, having a road of one hour and a half to his house. The only thing he wants right now is come back, be with you, and try to comfort your pain somehow. So he doesn't notice that the crew follows him to the outside, in the meantime that he reaches his motorcycle.
His way back home feels like an eternity, parking in front of the porch, and almost jumping out from the top of it. The prospect is waiting close to the door, shrugging his shoulders to let him know that nothing has changed. You heard the door getting opened, turning your head over the pillow, watching him coming into the room. You would like to smile, as every time you see him, but it's like if your brain doesn't send the order to your lips. Lying down and embracing you over the mattress, filling your face with a bunch of kisses.
“I've missed you, mi vida”. He whispers onto your lips, before caressing them. “I took a day off, so I will be here with you the whole time”.
You can't help but sink your face under his chin, letting him hold you tightly. That's the only moment you feel somewhat better, knowing that he's not going to kick out your ass. Knowing that he loves you unconditionally.
“How was him?” You whisper.
“Fucked like you”. He just replies, kissing your head. “But I know that he's going to come today, you will see. I know it”.
He wasn't wrong. Actually, Canche is never wrong. You suddenly wake up because of the loud roar of an engine. It's coming closer, accentuating over others behind it. The bed is empty, and the room is almost in darkness. Rubbing your eyes with your knuckles, you get up from the mattress, guiding your steps to the living room as soon as you hear your boyfriend greeting your father. Sticking your head out the corner of the hallway, your eyes find him before anyone else there. He looks like shit. His beard is longer, scruffy. The two black marks under his eyes tell you that he hasn't slept much more than you.
Canche moves his head in silence, indicating the crew to leave the house, so you would have some intimacy and time alone. Bishop takes a step ahead, trying to reach you, trying to say something. But he can't. Doubting, he walks a little closer. Slowly. Hoping that you don't turn him down. Raising a hand towards your left, he holds it to push you into his arms. Surrounding your body, he hugs you with that kind of love and warmth that only your father can transmit you. All the sadness and the pain has gone. The fear of losing him, inside your chest, isn't oppressing it anymore.
“I'm sorry”. He says in a whisper, tightening his grip around you.
“Me too…”
“You don't have to, because you were right. This is my fault, mi princesa”.
He pulls himself away from you, enough to find your reddened eyes, about to cry again.
“I know you have to leave the nest, but I'm not ready. And I will never be. But if you have to do it, I'm good knowing that Canche is by your side”.
Leaning, your father kisses your forehead, pressing his lips on it for some long seconds.
“Just let me take care of you tonight, please”.
You just nod in silence. You couldn't say ‘no’. You need him, you didn't know it could be this hard to live without him. It's not the same when he's on a trip, than when he's just away from you. Closing your arms around him, you hide your face on his chest, like you used to do when you were a child waking up from a nightmare.
“I will always love you, pa'. No matter who else is in my life. I will always love you more than anyone”.
“I know, princesa. I do. And I will always do it”.
