Visited the Ruth E. Carter costume design touring show at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History in Detroit.
Carter has been working in film for decades - with credits ranging from Big Important Films like Amistad and Malcolm X to pop culture icons like I鈥檓 Gonna Git You Sucka and Do The Right Thing.

Happy birthday to me! 馃巶
Yes, I'm a valentine's baby. Contrary to what people think, I have always felt not special on my birthday. Coz it's supposed to be my day, but it's everyone's day! People really go over the top to express their love for each other, which is not the language I understand. But slowly, I'm starting to make room in my heart for the fact that my birthday is indeed special. Everyone is enjoying it with me! Kudos to my momma dearest for bringing me to the world today 馃槀鈾ワ笍馃槑
I turn 30 this year. And no, I don't feel old. Just feel a wiser mature version of my kid self. Younger folks, relax. There's a huge life in front of you. I am both excited and scared for this year. It's a big one, it's gonna mark a big shift in my career, and I am not sure where I'll end up. Hope life leads me the right way, as it always has. 馃檹馃徏
