Depends!!

Like, obviously we can go the route of “Jason becomes a ghost and tries to help the family cope with his death”, which is a really cool trope actually! But usually not something I can stomach reading because my relationship with grief is… rocky. At best.

But!! To change it up a little from the traditional “character can’t move on to the great beyond unless they’re at peace”, we could go with “Character is finally at peace but instead of moving on— they wake up. Alive.” (y’know, to fit Jason’s scenario).

So we’ve got a haunting and heartbreaking narrative that eventually results in a wonderful “returning back home” conclusion.

(Maybe with a little of “Wait, you’re back?? I thought you moved on!! Oh gosh I’m so happy you’re back I know I said I was okay with you leaving and moving on and I’m sorry you’re still here but I missed you so much even though it was only like— a day! And— …. Hold on. Are you— did you just physically open the door?”)

I feel like if Obito could postpone his (second? third?) death and tell Kaguya "damn, grandma, take a walk for 10-15 minutes, we have an issue to settle here", he'd give his sharingan to Kakashi again.

Obito, to Sakura: Sakura, quickly transplant one of my eyes to Kakashi.

Obito, to Kakashi: Bakashi, quickly decide which eye you want? Left or right?

Kakashi, shocked and going through a silent panic attack over the flashbacks: Obito, now is not the time-

Obito, rolling his eyes: yeah, you're right, now is not the time.

Obito, back to Sakura: transplant both eyes at once.

Sasuke, quietly turning to Sakura: does he even know that Kakashi is not an Uchiha and has no right to possess sharingan?

Sakura, also quietly: I doubt he's ever thought about it, I'm more worried that Kakashi's body won't be able to withstand it

Obito, not listening to their conversation but still dying: well? How much longer do I have to wait? Bakashi, stop panicking and quickly lie down next to me, this old woman won't wait forever, though she can it.

Though Obito still found a way to give his sharingan to Kakashi at least for a while. Even if he's dead. No seriously, that's crazy, how is that even possible? The purelands are like a passing yard.
