And for once, I don't want to tell you that things would soon get better.

The night won't be in favor of your pleads. It would remind you of everything you want to forget until sleep is nothing but an escape you can't find. Your tears would drown you with your thoughts, and the emptiness would embrace you like the arms you were longing for. It is simply not there.

And you would hear your own heart breaking in the silence of a devil's hour, but even the spirits won't notice you are falling apart. Because no one really knows how much you're bleeding.

Not even the one who cuts you off. Especially not the one who cuts you off.

What tragedy it is to look for someone that doesn't care for you a bit? Is love the curse, or the pain?

You will wake up every morning hoping it would turn out differently, but the day goes by and it is still the same. You are still hurting. Badly. Really really badly.

So I don't want to tell you that it would all be alright. The wounds would sometimes feel like it is healing, but it would open again and again, and you wouldn't know when it'll end.

It doesn't stop, and you won't get better. You'll just get used to it.

But then the sad songs would make sense and you still get to smile while you listen to it. You'll read every word to a poem and you'll thank the writer for saying everything you couldn't put into words. You'll watch every movie, cry at its ending, see photographs as if it was the first time, and appreciate everyone who's ever been there for you. You'll laugh and cry and every time you're in between it, you'll realize it's all great to feel everything.

So maybe you won't be okay for a while. Maybe it would hurt too much. Maybe you won't know when all of this would be over.

But guess what?

This life is still good, and it would be waiting for you patiently.

So honey, take all the time you need.

You are doing just fine.

I honestly cringe when I hear a response to sadness being “well you have a roof over your head right?” or even worse “you should be greatful for what you have”. As if material well-being can create peace when the well-being in your head is nonexistent.

Your feelings are vaild. No matter your social or economic status. However, I would give the tip of not sitting in your sadness to long. You would be suprised of the happiness that exists, no matter where you are.
