A commission I had pleasure to work on lately. I can't describe how happy I am when people order artworks with my favourite striped burritos. This one will be available in my upcoming shop! Also, it is not free to use as a tattoo design so please don't do that. Thanks!

So-Fi Good Wishes, 11-16-2023 Mixed Media on watercolor paper, 11" x 14"
For this illustrations I used a Kura Toga mechanical pencil and a Prismacolor Artgum eraser for the sketch. Watercolor paints were then added from the Marie's watercolor pan set. The colors used were, Sap Green, Viridian Green, Medium Yellow, Purple Red & Cobalt Blue. Once the watercolors dried, I erased what sketch lines I could and then added in some Derwent colored pencils in Scarlet Lake, Magenta, Red Violet Lake, Imperial Purple, Oriental Blue, Bottle Green & Olive Green. In some areas I reduced color by erasing and blending with my fingers.

Beautiful Lotus Flower Tattoos & Their Meaning
Tumblr media
The lotus flower, a captivating aquatic bloom rising pristine from muddy waters, has captivated cultures for millennia. Symbolizing resilience, purity, and spiritual awakening, it's no wonder the lotus flower has become a popular choice for tattoos. Let's explore five beautiful lotus flower tattoo variations and the unique meanings they hold.
The Delicate Bloom:
Tumblr media
A single, slender lotus flower rendered in fine lines and soft shading exudes elegance and simplicity. This design embodies the core essence of the lotus – overcoming challenges (the muddy water) with grace and emerging beautiful and pure. The placement on the wrist or ankle adds a touch of femininity and allows for a subtle reminder of your inner strength.
The Colorful Blossoming:
Tumblr media
For a vibrant and eye-catching design, a lotus flower in full bloom bursting with color is a stunning choice. The color itself adds another layer of meaning – pink for compassion, white for spiritual perfection, or blue for wisdom. This design celebrates the joy of the journey towards enlightenment and serves as a reminder to embrace the beauty that unfolds with growth. A placement on the shoulder or back allows the vibrant colors to take center stage.
The Budding Potential:
Tumblr media
A lotus flower bud, just beginning to unfurl its petals, signifies new beginnings and the potential for spiritual growth. This design resonates with those embarking on a new journey or seeking self-discovery. The placement on the inner arm or behind the ear offers a more intimate and personal touch.
The Phoenix Lotus:
Tumblr media
Combining the symbolism of the lotus with the mythical phoenix rising from ashes creates a powerful image of transformation and rebirth. This design is ideal for those who have overcome significant challenges and emerged stronger. The placement on the upper chest or back signifies the courage and strength it took to rise above adversity.
The Lotus Mandala:
Tumblr media
For a truly intricate design, a lotus flower incorporated within a mandala creates a mesmerizing fusion of symbolism. The mandala represents the universe and the cyclical nature of life, while the lotus flower signifies spiritual awakening within that cycle. This design is ideal for those seeking a deeper connection to the universe and their place within it. The placement on the back or upper arm allows for the intricate details of the mandala to be showcased.
These are just a few ways to capture the beauty and meaning of the lotus flower in a tattoo. Remember, the most beautiful lotus flower tattoo is the one that resonates most deeply with your personal story and aspirations. So, find a design that speaks to you and let it bloom as a permanent reminder of your inner strength and potential for growth.

So-Fi Tulip Painting 3, 11-17-2023 Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper, 11" x 14" Watercolor Paint & Colored Pencils
This is another watercolor painting enhanced with colored pencils, or perhaps a colored pencil drawing enhance with watercolor paints? Does it depend on the order the medium is applied to the canvas?Does it matter at all? At any rate, this time I used the Derwent colored pencils before adding the Marie's watercolors.
The supply list. Kura Toga mechanical pencil and a Prismacolor Artgum eraser for the sketching. Watercolor paints - Marie's watercolor pan set. The colors used were, Chromium Oxide Green, Medium Yellow, Purple Red & Cobalt Blue. Derwent colored pencils in Magenta,  Imperial Purple, Delft Blue & Bottle Green & Olive Green.
On a side note, I am finding myself enjoying using pan paints a bit more. I guess it's since I'm making smaller simple paintings it's not so much of a bother and it does save space since the mixing palette is a part of the kit.
