"You're looking awful glum tonight," James points out as he leans against the railing of the balcony you're on. He doesn't reprimand you for sitting on the railing, but he does frown as he glances down to where the ground is, inching closer to you to place a firm hand on your thigh.
"I called the car around - I'm going back to the hotel. You can let the others know if they notice," you respond in a sigh, the smoke leaving your lungs on the exhale as you bring your cigarette to your lips for another drag.
"…Are you sober right now, love?" James asks, eyeing you carefully. You look at him bemusedly.
"You think I came to a party after our show and… didn't have a single drink?"
"Well…" he says carefully. You narrow your eyes and James grips your thigh a little tighter - a plead for you to hear him out. "You weren't exactly the life of the party tonight, lovely. You disappeared pretty quick. If you have been drinking, that means you've been doing it out here - alone, sitting very precariously on a very high balcony, with no one looking out for you." You've stopped looking at him, keeping your eyes trained on the expansive driveway out front of whoever's house this is. When you see your car pull up, you put out your cigarette easily on the railing before sliding off of it, letting James keep a hand firmly on you, sliding from your thigh up to your waist.
"I don't need a babysitter, James," you say bluntly, but you can't help but soften a bit at the wide, sad eyes he gives you, his bottom lip jutting out slightly. You wonder idly if he realizes he looks at you so often like he's a puppy you've just kicked. "I'll see you tomorrow for rehearsals," you offer gently before you slip away.
In the safety of the backseat of your car, tinted windows blocking out the gaze of the outside world, you let your head lean back against the seat, sighing and closing your eyes as you rub at your temples. The relief is short-lived, however, as the car door is pulled open and James slides into the seat next to you, grinning despite the glare you sent him.
"Didn't really think I'd let you go sit at the hotel sulking all night, did you?" He quips. You bristle.
"I don't sulk," you huff. His smile widens as the car pulls away.
"Sure you don't, sweetheart." He throws an arm around your shoulders and you let him, sighing as you lean against him, resting your head against his chest. "You wanna tell me what's going on?" He asks gently.
"Nothing," is your quick reply. He hums thoughtfully, running a hand through your hair gently.
"Wanna try again?" He's still gentle, a patience seeping from him into you that lulls you as you relax further against him.
"It's just a lot sometimes. I'm tired is all," you admit. James presses a kiss to the crown of your head and your heart does something funny in your chest.
"You're allowed to take a break every now and then, love," he offers. You tense.
"I don't need -"
"No, but you still can," he placates, smoothing his hand over the back of your head as he silently coaxes you into relaxing once more. "I know you don't need to. God knows you'll run on fumes forever and never say a thing about it. But you don't need to - not here, not with us."
James, in all his mother-hen nature, continues to reprimand you in that gentle, caring way of his all the way up to your hotel room, only stopping when you shut yourself in the bathroom and turn the tap on so that you can't hear him. By the time you come out in clothes that are decidedly much more comfortable than what you'd been wearing at the party, he's lounging in your bed and flipping idly through TV channels.
"Oh, sure, make yourself at home," you quip as you flop onto the bed next to him, leaning against the headboard. James grins in that beaming way that he's so fond of, turning the TV volume down to a low, background hum.
"Thanks, love." You scoff at his words.
"Are you planning on staying here all night?" You ask wearily. He pretends to think about it.
"What will you do if I leave?" You shrug, sliding further down in bed and crossing your arms. James opens his mouth to speak and you know he's going to say something about you sulking, so you make a point to wack him with a pillow before he can. He laughs good-naturedly about it, though, so you're not so sure what you've accomplished.
Fortunately, or rather unfortunately, you don't have time to ponder it further before your hotel room door is swinging open and Sirius is flouncing into the room, Remus trailing in after him. You sigh and look at Remus imploringly, but he only shrugs, leaning towards you to squeeze your shoulder in what you're sure is supposed to be comforting before he settles in the armchair next to the bed. Sirius, on the other hand, takes to flopping directly across the bottom of the bed, landing on James's legs and causing some sort of friendly tussle between the two of them.
"This is actually my hotel room, you know," you point out dryly. "How did you even get in here?"
"You gave Peter your spare key," Remus points out.
"Peter doesn't come in unannounced," you shoot back. Sirius and James stop whatever roughhousing they're caught up in so that Sirius can lean over and press a sweaty kiss to your cheek. You click your tongue in annoyance and hope it hides the way your heart flips.
"Cheer up, doll," Sirius says, unperturbed by your scowl. "What were you playing at, anyway? Leaving without telling any of us and thinking we wouldn't notice? Like we wouldn't miss our favourite drummer." You shoot James a look that says you shouldn't have told them and he smiles disarmingly.
"Just because I'm staying in tonight doesn't mean you all have to - and I'm your only drummer, Sirius, in case you've forgotten," you say icily. Sirius smiles, but it's more honest than you're used to, and he reaches across James to smooth a thumb over your cheek quickly before pulling back.
"Could never forget you, love. Not even if I tried." You stare at him, his tone heavier than normal, as Remus shifts and clears his throat.
"Anyway, dove… we just want to make sure you're alright, yea?" He says, and you exhale a breath you didn't know you were holding as the tension dissipates.
"Everything's fine," you say stubbornly. "I just didn't really feel like being there tonight."
"Well, we can see that," James chimes in. "But you always go to these things. You -"
"I know, I know, ok? I won't - it won't happen like that again, all right?" You huff. "I won't leave like that."
"No, see, I'm not sure you're understanding what Jamie's saying, love," Sirius says, the softness in his voice making your heart drop. It takes a lot for Sirius to be gentle, and he only does it when he thinks he really needs it. "What we're saying is that you don't have to. Pete never goes to the parties - we haven't kicked him out of the band yet, have we?"
"But that's different," you sigh, sitting up straighter. "Pete and I… are different kinds of performers. You know that." Remus leans forward in his chair to put a hand on your knee and you will yourself not to flinch at the contact, not to shy away from the kindness in his eyes that you know he reserves for the people he really loves.
"You don't have to perform here, love," Remus says gently. "You don't have to do that. Not here, not when it's just us." Your bottom lip trembles and you bunch the covers of the bed in your hands.
"Sometimes I think, for you lot, this life is fun… and for me, it's still work. I just can't make myself see it the way you guys do."
"But that's what we're here for," James offers, his voice kind. "Let us help you out. We decided to do this together for a reason, right? You decided to stick with us for a reason."
"I… I did, yea," you say.
"Yea," Sirius repeats. "So let us be here, alright?" Remus rubs his thumb across your knee as the other two look at you expectantly. You smile, a terse, small sort of thing - but it works nonetheless.
"Alright," you sigh. "Together, then."

sway (you’re swimming in my veins)
or: hasan is too big of an idiot to say he likes you, so he gets into fights to get your attention
or: you'll have to pry drunk, frat hasan from my cold dead hands
tw/creepy men, toxic masculinity, drunk people, alcohol, cursing, excessive use of “princess” as a pet name
the music is so fucking loud, you can't hear yourself think. Your hands are wrapped around a red solo cup of water, mostly to try to fit in it, to not draw attention to yourself- your eyes scan the crowd as you nod to the music, even though you don't know what this music is at all-
"You're staring." Your friend comes over, elbows you in your side, a smirk is covered up by the rim of the solo cup.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." You lie,
"Frat guys are gross and I simply like to stare at them like they're creatures at a zoo. Some sort of odd creature to point at in awe."
"Right," Sam, your best friend snorts at your elbow, "And this has nothing to do with that hasan guy, right?"
"hasan," you snort, eyes everywhere but at Sam, “i didn’t even remember that’s his name-“
Sam rolls her eyes, "You need to leave him alone. He's bad news. And no-not in the 'i can fix him' sort of way-in-the-this guy needs to be looked at professionally sort of way."
Your voice drops, "What happened?" You ask, like it's a conspiracy theory. And it almost is, in the way you've heard whispers of him, of the bad things he's done, friends grabbing each other's elbows and pulling each other in close, cupped hands to the others ears when he walks in-but no ones ever elaborated beyond a warning to keep away.
Sam sighs, a deep breath, like it's the weight of the world on her shoulders, even though she's just telling someone else's tragic backstory.
"He's-" another sigh, "Just a dick, okay? He talks with his hands, not his mouth. He's always trying to get into a fight. Just-watch him, alright?"
Your head whips around to the guy pushed in the corner, throwing ping pong balls into red solo cups, stopping long enough to yell and throw his fists over his head.
"We're looking at the same guy, right?" You push.
This guy has a mop of unruly curly hair on top of his head, how he stops every once in a while to nervously mess with it, a too big black hoodie on, these dark bags under his eyes-you wouldn't talk to him for the fun of it, but he definitely doesn't look like he'd cause any real harm.
"Just because someone looks harmless, doesn't mean they are. Remember that. I'll be right back, I gotta tell James we'll be ready to go soon."
and she squeezes your shoulder and is off to find her boyfriend. You roll your eyes, the two of them are practically connected at the hip, and it makes you even more self aware of how alone you are.
"Y'know, you look like a creep in the corner?" A voice enters next to you, making you jump. You've never seen this guy before, short, blonde hair a mop on top of his head. "Did I scare you? I'm scott” when he smiles it reveals a partially toothless smile.
you can feel your heartbeat in your ears. a hard thump in your ears. something is wrong, you can tell.
"N-No, I wasn't scared." You try and play it off with a smile, "My friend Sam is around. I should go look for her. Drunk people, yknow-" you laugh, turning to leave, when he reaches out, his hand grips your wrist, hard.
"Stay."
in the corner, hasan is half listening to his two fraternity brothers attempt to talk politics ("Bruh. if you actually think Trump is bad-“) begging his eyes not to glaze over, just nodding his head, when his eyes meet yours.
Originally, he's caught in almost a dead space stare, just somewhere to rest his tired eyes (he'll insist later that it was just that, nothing more. nothing less.) but when he sees you try and move your arm away from this guy and him advancing on you more, well-
"Hey-" He's by your side before he can even stop himself and his Ma's voice is in his head immediately: why are you putting yourself somewhere you don't belong? but he shakes his head, pushing the thought down deep, "What's the problem over here?"
and he stands up straight, arms crossed over his chest, eyes narrowed, trying to look intimidating because he always insist he isn't scary at all, even if his bruised knuckles say otherwise-
And you look, well-relieved and he hates how visibility less stressed you look now that he's here, like he's some sort of hero or as if he did anything big-
"No problem." The guy speaks right away, a slight slur on his lips that makes hasan roll his eyes.
"I think you should leave, Scott. I think they're uncomfortable." hasan keeps his voice low, you have to strain to hear it over the music.
"I think they're big enough to talk for themselves, yeah?" Scott smiles and it makes your skin crawl, an involuntary shiver coming out as you shrug his hand off your shoulder again.
"Get your hands off of them," hasan is taking a step towards Scott, "I'm not telling you again to leave them alone."
"hasan-"You try, not even knowing this guy, trying to talk him off the ledge, wondering if you're about to see what his reputation is here for.
"Yeah, hasan," Scott smirks, his voice high pitched, obviously making fun of you, "Listen to the little-"
Later, you'll insist you didn't see who threw the first punch, even if you definitely saw hasan’s knuckles collide with Scott's jaw first.
A small crowd forms around the two, and in Scott's defense, he gets a few good punches to hasan’s left eye before he's yanked away by a friend.
Sam finds you, tries to get you to leave, especially after this run in with Scott still has you on edge, but you insist you need to talk to him after his little stunt.
So naturally, that's how you find yourself holding his hand, dragging him upstairs to the bathroom, ripping off the out of order sign on the bathroom and shutting the door behind you. You set the toilet seat down and nudge him to sit down and he does, with a groan as goi go through cabinets.
"I didn't even get a thank you." He mumbles.
"Are-" your head pops out from behind a cabinet, where you're digging to find some kind of disinfectant, your narrowed at him, "are you pouting right now?"
He shrugs, staring straight ahead.
"I'm so sorry, but i can't take you serious with that bag of peas on your face." You manage to finally say, barely getting it out without laughing at him as he sets it on the counter.
"Here," You roll your eyes as you finally squat in front of him (even if he towers over you) "So you don't get an infection at the very least. Jesus, that's a nasty cut."
Your hand touches the edge of it and he winces,
"You sure you know what you're doing, princess?"
You look up long enough to glare at him, pouring some alcohol into the lid, decide his comment doesn't deserve an answer.
Instead, you do what you usually do when you're uncomfortable, and make jokes: "charming. haven’t been called princess in years-“ Sure, you've never talked to him but this feels like something someone would usually add onto the nasty impressions they do off him.
he pulls away as you put your hand to his face, his eyes narrowed, eyebrows one, "thanks, i like to think it’s original-“
You stare at him hard because he has to be joking.
“sure,” you level, knowing he won’t remember this in the morning, “i’m lying.”
He nods, satisfied with himself until he sees you unwrapping various supplies, spreading them out in front of you.
"You sure you know what you're doin', princess?”
your hand is against his face as your try to bite your tongue from pointing out the pet name , instead giving him a hard look as you bring the alcohol soaked pad to his eye.
"Fuck!" He finally yells, his hand flies to yours, rests on top of your hand, "Warn someone next time, why don't ya?"
"Can't handle a little alcohol?" you tease with a smirk, bringing gauze up to his eye to blot at it.
"You're a mess."
"You should see the other guy." He mumbles flatly with a groan, "So-that thank you? i'll take it now."
you finally look up and meet his eyes and he's smirking at you.
"Let me get this straight." You grab the peas and hold them, "you just got into a huge fight-in the middle of a party your frat is hosting and you want me to say thank you?"
"I was defending your honor, princess." He insists, that stupid smirk doesn't leave his face.
"I don't need anyone to defend me, certainly not you." You pick the peas up and put them back on his face, maybe with a little more pressure than necessary you hold them there for a second, "I'm leaving, so i won't be here to patch you up. Don't do anything stupid."
and you turn to leave before you do something stupid, like thank him for helping you, or worse-sees the pink splashed across your face.
three weeks pass before you see him again, and honestly-between midterms, your job and everything else in your life, you almost forget about his existance.
That is, as usual, until your eyes wander over to his again.
He sees you staring, and before your head can whip away from his, he gives you a smirk, a wink, throws back what's left in his cup and makes his way to you.
"Funny seeing you here, princess'" He smirks, leans down to talking your ear.
You roll your eyes, "Your frat is with mine. don't act like i'm here for any other reason."
you don't tell him how happy you are to have someone to talk to, always feel out of place at these parties, and he's like a forgotten puppy in a room at a party and you're happy to see him.
"Nah, not for another fifteen minutes or so” He smirks into his beer bottle, almost empty.
"Sorry."
you can tell by his smirk he isn't sorry at all.
and you aren't either, but you have a role to play up, so you groan.
"I gotta check on Sam, make sure she's still alive." you sigh, standing up, wiping imaginary dust off your pants.
"Awe, come on, princess. just five more minutes."
"Goodnight, hasan." you roll your eyes again, walking away.
so naturally, his first thought when Adam, who's equally as drunk as him, gives him a shove, is well, at least he'll see you again, as his hand collided with Adams jaw.
"we've gotta stop meeting like this." he smirks as he holds up the bag of peas to his nose, the fight now over and he sits on the hard title of the bathroom, his knees to his chest. you only knew about the fight because when people were tending to him after he asked for you specifically, by name.
"Is that the same fuckin' bag from three weeks ago?" you ask instead, "Jesus fuck, do y'all ever grocery shop?"
But, against your better judgment, your opening and closing cabinets for cleaner.
"They're frozen, it's fine." he insists as you kneel on the floor next to him and eh closes his eyes immediately when you sit next to him. "You smell nice." he adds.
"Fuck off, hasan." You groan, but you're grateful his eyes are shut so he doesn't see you blushing.
"i'm only speakin' the truth, princess' he smiles, his eyes shut, and he's feeling too confident-until there's more alcohol on his nose and he's groaning-
by first instinct-purely, first instinct, you insist-your hand reaches out and you wrap your hand around his. "You're fine. this should probably warrant a visit to the hospital." you sigh, his hand "You're fine. this should probably warrant a visit to the hospital." you sigh, his hand stays around yours.
"I'm fine." he sighs, opens one eye, still has his teeth barred from the alcohol. "Just stings a lil is all. Listen, lemme get you a drink.
“Just one."
"if i say no am i going to meet you in the bathroom again to patch you up?" you sigh.
"Probably." he smirks, shrugging. at least he's honest.
"One drink, that's it. And no more fights." he laughs, doesn't say anything at first as he stands, offers his hand and helps you up.
"Deal. c'mon, i know just the place." and you let him wrap his hands around yours, fingers interlocked as he leads the way.

Deep in the Dark Pt. 6.1
Tumblr media
Male Orc x Female Reader
You were not expecting his apartment to basically be a luxury condo but here you are, in the middle of his livingroom taking in the immaculate décor. You had in mind that he lives in a modest bachelor pad, but this is far far from what you thought of.
"Not what you were expecting?" Sloan asks, still pulling his shoes off at the door.
He had somehow convinced you to get ready for today's date at his place since it would be easier for the both of you to get ready at the same place instead of meeting up later or him coming back just to pick you up. You really didn't care about his reasons, you were more curious to see his place.
"Yeah, this is..." you don't want to be rude and ask how he affords this when you both work the same job, but damn you had to know.
"My friends from highschool had the same reaction when they first saw this place. To be honest I've only had this place for a couple years, before that I was living with my grandmother trying to save up to put a down payment on a house nearby... but things happened..." he cringes and sighs.
You really really want to know what happened, but you don't want pry seeing how uncomfortable he is.
"You don't have have to talk about it if you don't want to you. Anyways don't we need to get ready?" you try and change the subject but he walks off still looking stiff.
Worried that you might have messed up you start fishing in your purse for your phone to ask Liz for advise. Sloan comes back though with a book in his hand and a nervous smile on his face.
"It's nothing bad, just weird I guess...My friends had a good laugh at it when they saw the cover," he hands you the book cover down and looks away.
Just by looking at the back you can already tell that it's a romance novel and the summary is very well written, what's so bad about the cover? You flip it over and nearly drop it as you choke back your laughter.
There, dead center on the cover was a younger Sloan in a firefighter get up doing something that's supposed to be a sexy pose.
"Mmhmm, I see," you try really hard to keep your composure but it's so difficult.
He sighs, rolling his eyes as he turns back to you, "It's ok, you can laugh."
You shake your head and take a few deep breaths to pull yourself together, "I'm good, I'm good. Just...Wow. Who's idea was this?"
"Remember my friend who did the impromptu tattoos? Well she's now a best selling smut author and I'm one of her top models for the book covers," He admits.
"There are more books that you're on? Wait you still model?" you have so many questions about this side career of his.
"Oh gods what have I started," he laughs. "Yes there's more, but why don't we save that for later. Like you said, we should probably start getting ready." Sloan uses your earlier subject change against you with a much more relaxed smile.
"Oh alright, but I will see those covers one way or another. Even if I have to hunt down your friend...Honey Royal?" you look at the author name and Sloan snorts.
"She used a name generator, her real name is Rae. Come on, I promise you I'll show you everything that has my face on it. Even the calendars. Now let's start getting ready," he walks by you and pinches your ass making you yelp and laugh.
After you slap his ass back in retaliation you grab your stuff and follow him to his room. It's not as large as you'd thought it'd be given the size of his livingroom but it's still pretty spacious. His bed is quite large and well stocked with pillows of different sizes. You're nearly temped to just jump on it and test how comfy it is, but you'll wait till later tonight.
"You can set your bags on the bed. Shower first or do you need a minute to get your things out and organized?" Sloan asks, opening the door to a ridiculously luxurious looking bathroom.
You didn't even give yourself time to think before blurting out shower. Sloan laughs and starts to strip, you quickly shimmy out of your casual wear before following him into the bathroom while trying not to act excited.
The bathroom is impressively large but as Sloan said before the shower itself is a bit small, luckily the shower head is on the ceiling.
"It'll be a bit cramped if we shower together, do you want to go first or-" He was turning the water on when he pauses to look back at you. A playful and devious smile growing by the second.
"Or maybe you'd like to join me?"
You give him a smile and walk up to him, as you get closer he starts walking backwards into the shower until he's under the raining steamy water. When you enter he takes no time at all lifting you into his arms and pinning you against the wall.
His lips find your neck and you quickly wrap your legs around him to keep yourself up. Little by little he nibbles at you which elicits a symphony of moans and pleas from your lips.
After a few minutes he sets you down and kneels before you. Dripping and flustered with obvious need between his legs, Sloan takes a deep breath before grabbing a bottle of body wash. He jokingly shakes it in a lewd manner making you laugh, but when the white soap squirts out you nearly double over.
"You're ridiculous," you laugh, rolling your eyes.
"Only for you," he smiles as he lathers the soap between his hands.
You can't help the fluttering feelings when he talks like that and at this point you have to admit to yourself that you're clearly smitten. You never thought you'd be this comfortable with anyone, daring to open up this much so fast.
You're quickly pulled from thinking about how he makes you feel emotionally when he licks your clit as he soaps up your legs. Now all you can think about is how he makes you feel. You grip the rail behind you to balance yourself when he slips his tongue between your folds. The steam and heat from the shower start to make you a little dizzy mixed with the heat between your legs, so start bucking your hips hoping he'll get the memo. And he does.
Sloan parts his mouth from you and replaces it with his fingers. You nearly slip, unable to keep yourself steady with how deep he's driving himself into you. He holds you, kneading his fingers into your hip as he kisses you wherever he can. You cum hard and Sloan has to hold you as you come down.
"You're spoiling me too much," you laugh against him, still catching you breath.
"Maybe I like spoiling you," he kisses your forehead.
You try and reach down to return the favor but he stops you saying that the hot water will run out soon. You grimace but you go along, not a fan of cold showers.
He finishes up first, giving you a bit more room to rinse your hair out when he leaves. You're a bit uneasy with how giving he is towards you, feeling like there's such an imbalance. You know it's going to gnaw at you, but it feels like one of those things that can wait for another day...you don't want to ruin the mood for the first date.
When you finally get out you see that Sloan is finishing up drying his hair and smell that decadent cologne that you've come to love. You quickly grab a towel and start drying off, trying to distract yourself from staring at him though you admittedly still glance his way.
"Do you want help with your braid?" you ask him as he sets the hair blow dryer down.
He scratches the side of his head as he thinks about it, his smile twisting into something complicated. "As much as I'd like to say yes, I'm going to have to decline this time."
It was the first time he's said no to you about helping with his hair. The feeling from before came back and curdled in your stomach. You do your best not to show your feelings and start drying your hair off. Sloan continues to get ready, his hair still loose and wavy.
You finish with your hair and go back into his bedroom to start getting dressed. You debate over the two sets of lingerie you brought, one that you know he likes and the brand new one you just bought. When you turn to make sure he wasn't peeking at your spread you see that the bathroom door has been closed.
You do your best to ignore this too and set to work on getting dressed. It's almost as if you're on autopilot while you get ready, blankly putting yourself together while trying to keep it together.
You hear the door to the bathroom open and Sloan comes out with an immaculately complicated set of braids. His normal braid is hanging off his shoulder, strands of silver woven into it and a couple smaller braids on the side that lace into the larger one.
"Oh wow..." is all you could manage to say. You've seen orcs with complex braids but nothing this elaborate for a simple first date.
He smiles and quickly looks away. It makes you feel as if you said something wrong.
"I uh-" you both say and sort of clam up after that.
Well this is awkward...
Sloan tries to look anywhere but at you until he finally stomps your way, picking you up and kissing you breathless. He's relentless with his hands all over you and his mouth doing things to you that you would soon not forget. When he finally parts from you, his eyes are glazed over and his breath is ragged.
"Gods I want you now..." he nips at your neck and you shiver at the heated intimacy. He laughs and nips you a couple more times before setting you down, "But I'll behave and wait."
You have to take a few secretive deep breaths to calm yourself before stealing away to the bathroom to finish getting ready. It's difficult to focus but eventually you go through your terrible habit of focusing on focusing enough to actually finish getting ready.
When you leave the bathroom you look around the room for Sloan but he's nowhere to be seen. You take a few steps out and hear the faint sound of jazz. Walking further out into the livingroom you see him slipping into a well tailored jacket that goes well with the silver in his braid. He turns around and gives a little jump, his eyes all over you as his smile widens.
"However did I get so lucky?" he saunters up to you, his hands sliding onto your hips as he kisses your cheek. "You look absolutely lovely my angel."
"And you look very very handsome," you reach up and kiss him back.
Sloan gives you a soft sweet look that stirs your heart. You can't recall a time that anyone ever looked at you with this much adoration.
"If we stand here and look at each other like this much longer I don't think we're going to be leaving the apartment," he laughs. "I know I said I wanted to start with the walk around the park but would you mind if we hit the café first, I'm a bit hungry and in need of caffeine."
Coffee and breakfast sounds good right now, especially since you've skipped out on both this morning. "Sounds like a plan," you smile.
"Awesome...Oh and before I forget," Sloan starts to walk away beckoning you to follow. He takes you into an office with some interesting things laid out on his desk. You look at the lay out and feel the heat in your cheeks rise. Toys, lots and lots of toys...
"Don't think I forgot about the bet my angel," he purrs into your ear.
To be honest you sort of did forget, but this was way beyond what you thought he'd bring into the relationship this early on. Everything he's got on the desk gives you control, rope, a remote controlled cock ring, handcuffs, a strap-on, and somethings you've never seen before.
"If you need sometime to think about what you want to pick out, we have all day," he places a hand on your hip and nudges up next to you. "I'll be up for whatever you choose."
You look around but you can't help but to keep going back to the cock ring. Having that sort of control would be interesting and it would be a nice experiment into getting out of what you've thought sex should be.
"I think I'll go with this," you tell him, picking it up with a smile.
"If that's what you want," he replies, the lilt in his voice suggesting something more.
You're not sure what he's trying to tease out of you but you're feeling a bit bold what with him being this forward this early on.
"All day, I want you to wear it all day," you stretch out the ring and watch as his mouth hangs open in shock.
It takes him a second longer to process what you've just said but when he comes to he's shoving everything off his desk and thrusting you up on. Before you knew it he's kissing you all over and unzipping his pants.
Oh gods what have I started!
His tongue licks the rim of your ear, hot breath making you dizzy and unable to concentrate. Sloan unleashes his harden dick from his pants, already dripping with precum.
"You have no idea what you're doing to me angel," his voice is gravelly and low. "I have to keep reminding myself to behave around you, not let how I really feel about you show through all the time or else I might scare you away but you certainly don't make it easy..."
His hand slides under and up your dress but you stop him by crossing your legs. He grumbles then hisses when you slide the ring over his cock. "Show me how you really feel about me after you've worn this all day long," you slip off the desk and pinch his butt while slipping passed him.
You make your way back to the bathroom to straighten up the mess he made of you. Your lipstick is smeared and your earrings are about to fall out and your hair is a disaster. Sloan hasn't made any attempts in coming after you, a sign that he's probably trying to go soft so he can tuck his cock back in. You try not to pay that whole scenario further mind, afraid that you'll want to march back in there and see how he's doing.
After cleaning yourself up you go back into the livingroom and see a very composed Sloan ready to leave.
"Shall we?" he holds out his hand and you go up to take it. As you reach out you see a small key fob with controls on it. You quickly grab it and ignore the smug look rising on his face.
~~~~~
It's a short drive to the café which you're quite thankful for. You hadn't realized how hungry you were until you got into the car. Sloan mentions some good recommendations and his favorite blend, all of which sounds amazing.
The café itself is rustic and calm, sort of out of place is the downtown setting but very welcoming. The smell of cinnamon and coffee fills the air and it fits so well with the décor. Walking up to the counter you notice the beautiful yet faded piano in the corner. A couple walks passed it and the one of the girls giggles as she presses the keys.
Sloan and you order your coffee and breakfast, the orc barista giving him a once over and then nodding at you as if she knows something you don't.
"I'll bring your order over once it's ready, sit wherever you like," she smiles at the both of you.
He escorts you over to a table near the piano and ever the gentleman, pulls out the seat for you.
"Why thank you sir," you tease as he takes his seat.
He rolls his eyes and starts asking you about what sort of music you like listening to. For the next several minutes the both of you go back and forth about your preferences and mutual distaste for certain overplayed and overhyped songs.
The barista comes by with your coffees saying that the breakfast will be just a tad bit longer. You take a sip of the brew and it's absolutely wonderful. It's rich and smooth and not as bitter as the stuff you get in the breakroom.
"How is it?" Sloan asks.
"Probably the best damn coffee I've ever had," you smile over your cup.
"That good huh?" he laughs then takes a sip of his while looking over at the piano.
"Do you play?" you ask.
"Only when I'm here and have nothing better to do all day. I really wanted one in my apartment but getting one up that high would be a nightmare and I'm not about to settle for a keyboard," he pauses and takes another sip. "Why? Do you want to hear me play?"
You try not to show your curiosity but you fail with your twisted smile and nod your head. Sloan laughs but gets up anyways to go sit at the piano. A couple people turn to look his way as if they've been waiting to hear him play since he's arrived.
"Got any requests angel?" he asks, stretching out his fingers and wiggling them over the keys. Oddly enough you decide on Earth Angel since you really couldn't think of anything off the top of your head. He nods and starts up a jazzy tune that starts to transition into the song. You can't help but to stare at him like a love stricken fool and at this point you couldn't even bring yourself to give a damn about it.
Halfway into the song the barista comes back around with the breakfast and grins at you, "He's rather smitten with you isn't he? I've never seen him go above and beyond with his braids. He must be really serious about you."
It takes you a second to try and understand what she's getting at but something is still going over your head.
"What do you mean by that?" you ask, completely unaware.
"It's all in the braids. Different styles and the complexity have different meanings. His says...well, I really shouldn't say." She looks at him and back to you with a cat like grin.
Before you can ask more about the braids a couple walks in and she rushes back to the counter. You try to enjoy the rest of the song that Sloan is playing but the whole comment that the barista threw at you has you a bit off.
Sloan finishes playing and his eyes light up when he sees the breakfast at table.
"So how was it?" he asks, slipping back into his seat and taking a sip of his coffee.
"How was what? Oh right yeah you're playing sorry lost in thought. It was amazing, I really had no idea you could play." you try and push those earlier thoughts to the back of your head.
Just going to start a long list of things we'll get to another time, don't want to ruin the date!
"I wanted to be a pianist like my grandad was but I don't have the talent that he possessed. He could play all night long if it weren't for my nana coming into the parlor to drag him to bed," he laughs but you can tell there's something bothering him.
There's an odd bit of silence then which he quickly dismisses by clearing his throat and talking about breakfast. You play along, not wanting to dive into whatever that was.
The food is amazing, it's filling but not really heavy. Sloan does his best not to scarf down his and you know for sure he's trying since he hasn't eaten since yesterday. When you finally finish up you walk back to his car to drop off the pastries you ordered earlier.
Sloan looks down at his watch and then to his phone, "How are you feeling? Not too full?"
"No, I'm fine. Is there something that we're late for?" you ask, remembering his itinerary.
"Actually we're making great time. If we walk through the park we'll make it to the outdoor theatre by the time the first show starts," he grins, taking your hand in his.
The park he walks you to is pretty large and it's more of a series of smaller parks that make up one large one. The first one is filled with flowers and a reflection pond. There's old fashion lamps that line the walkways and you almost wish you could come back at night to see them lit up.
The second park is filled with art installments that were donated to the city by various artists. You and Sloan took pictures together next to your favorite ones and if you were lucky another couple would come by and offer to help take the pictures.
The third park is your favorite by far. It's filled with stalls and smells like spices and pine. Sloan takes you to a couple of his favorites that sell pickled vegetables, homemade breads, and soaps. The little old ladies at some of the stalls recognize him immediately and start to tease him and ask questions about you. He looks genuinely flustered and you can't help but to think how cute he is.
After a while the both of you have visited every stall and decide to head to the fourth park. There's a small band playing music in the middle with a few couples gathered around.
"I think they're doing their free dance lessons today, wanna try?" he asks.
You've always wanted to try and learn how to dance, even just as a hobby but you remember Marcus making fun of you for trying. You mentally slap yourself for thinking about him while you're with Sloan.
"Only if you want to and only if you don't mind my two left feet," you quip.
"Then with my poor sense of timing, our instructor will be in for one hell of a class," Sloan laughs.
You join in on the class and even though both of you are equally terrible you still have fun. The instructor stops you several times, you for your feet position and Sloan for his posture. After a hour most the couples have gone but you two stay behind for one last song with an almost tango under your belt.
The instructor looks somewhat pleased with the progress you both made considering how bad you both are and offers their card.
"I can't believe that after one whole damn hour I can barely dance the tango," Sloan groans as he plops on the bench.
You take a seat next to him and peel off your shoes to let your feet breathe real quick. "I told you I have two left feet, though I must say even after all that I had fun...I'm still having fun."
Sloan snuggles up to you and holds you close, not caring about the onlookers. "I'm glad. How are your feet? They must hurt like hell after going like that for so long."
"Just overheating and a bit of cramping in the heel but nothing too serious. I'll be ready to go in a few minutes," you stretch out your feet and wince at the cramp beginning in your toes.
"Oh no," you cringe. "Charley horse."
It hurts like hell and it just keeps getting worse. It's stiffening and feels like it just wants to be pulled right out. Sloan kneels down off the bench and takes the foot that you've been trying to stretch out.
"Where is it?" he asks.
"Toes, all of them," you have to hold in the need to scream when he starts working the cramps out of your toes. After a few minutes and a few odd looks from strangers, the cramping is finally gone.
"Better?" he brushes himself off and gets back on the bench.
"Yeah, thanks...and sorry..."you feel a tad bit embarrassed that he had to get down to rub your foot and in a public park of all places.
"No need to be sorry, these things happen." he shrugs off your apology and looks at the time.
"If we leave now we can make the first show. If we leave in thirty minutes we can make the second one. Your choice, I just want you to be comfortable," he kisses your forehead and nudges his head against yours.
You really want to see the first show, Sloan had hyped it up for you a while back. It's a community theatre and the local choir putting on a musical based on one of your favorite books. He found out about it from an old friend who's in the theatre so you know he probably wants to see it too.
You quickly rummage through your purse for Band-Aids and a pain killer. "Give me a couple minutes and I'll be ready to go."
You apply the Band-Aids to the areas you feel like blisters will start forming and take the medicine to ease your still aching feet. Slipping your shoes back on and taking a quick test stand you feel happy with yourself for not wobbling even once.
As you place the trash back in your purse since there's no garbage can around, you feel a familiar key fob you almost forgot about.
Not yet...
After a couple minutes of stretching Sloan and you finally make it to the last park where they've just started to file people into the outdoor theatre. Sloan rented a couple lawn chairs and bought a couple drinks at the concession stand. Lucky for the both of you his friend had the foresight to reserve a good spot on the grass for them by standing on it.
"Over here!" he yells at the both of you.
A tall slender elf with bright red hair waves the both of you his way. He's in all black so he's most likely a stagehand or a technician.
"Rynan long time no see," Sloan reaches out his arm and the elf extends his, both grabbing each other's arm.
"Truly, and who's your..." Rynan pauses looking at you then Sloan the you again. "Friend?"
You suddenly got the same feeling you had at the café when the barista was talking about the braids. Just what the hell do they imply?
Sloan introduces you but never corrects the friend attached to it. Rynan starts talking it up with Sloan and you and bringing up some rather embarrassing school mishaps they got involved with. After a few minutes a few other guys show up and greet Sloan and you. Sloan talks to his old friends but Rynan seems to back a bit away a towards you.
"So how long have you two known each other and how did you meet?" he asks.
"For a couple months, I just started working at the resort." you tell him, feeling the weight of his question.
His brow hikes up and he looks back towards Sloan then you. "Please don't take this the wrong way, but are you two just you know friends with benefits or something more? It's just, yes I know it's a strange question but I've never seen him this serious about someone he's know for such a short amount of time and I just don't want to see him hurt over something one sided and-"
"We're not friends with benefits I can assure you that. As far as what we are, I can't say for sure just yet since we literally just started dating. We're trying to not rush things, that's something we both agreed on," you interrupt Rynan's rant, hoping that you can put him at ease.
He sighs and shrugs and for a moment you think he's going to walk off but he's still got more to say. "Listen I know I'm being nosey and that it's none of my business but Sloan is my friend. I just, he's been through a lot and I don't think he can take a heart break right now."
"I guess the same could be said for me," you admit and watch as Rynan looks at you with confusion.
"Listen I get it, Sloan is your friend and you don't want to see him hurt. But when you come at me like you have been without knowing or even trying to know anything about me then it's like you've already decided I'm not worth it," you snap at him.
This wasn't how you pictured your first meeting with his friends to go. You imagined them a lot more relaxed and less accusing than this.
Rynan opens his mouth to say something then quickly closes it as if he's realizing how careful he needs to be.
"I guess I did jump the gun there didn't I? It's just the last girl he tried to date was a total gold digger and he has a terrible tendency to-"
"Be blinded by love? Got those rose tinted glasses on?" you smile and shrug
"Exactly!" Rynan rolls his eyes back with his head.
"It can be a bit much to be honest. I'm still not sure if he's just insecure or if he's just like that," you almost bite your words but it felt good to get it out.
"Honestly I think it's a bit of both. Dude really didn't start dating till after college so he probably feel like he's lacking in some areas so he has to make it up by being over the top romantic." Rynan admits, his mood towards you rapidly changing.
"But if it ever gets to be too overwhelming you can say that you'll give me a call and ask for full details about summer camp freshman year, that'll get him to clam up," Rynan pulls out a small notebook and writes his number on it.
Sloan comes back just as he's handing it over and gives you both a curious look.
"She's a good girl, don't piss her off or I'll be the first to know," Rynan slaps him on the shoulder and quickly disappears into the growing crowd.
"What was that about?" Sloan asks you.
"I don't know but freshman summer camp must have been pretty bad," you test the waters and Sloan gives you a very very nervous look.
"He didn't say anything but apparently if you upset me I can call and ask," you shrug with a grin.
Sloan stands with his mouth agape for a few moments then shakes his head as the sound of the crowd dies down and everyone settles in. He sets up the chairs and the both of you settle in for the show.
The opening is a bit corny but you forgive it by how amazing the costumes are. You nearly bark out in laughter after the first musical number, you never expected the march out of the main character's ex lover to be so hilarious but it works. Further into the production and it starts to get chilly. You had planned for this so you start to pull your shawl out of your purse but before you can get it all the way out, Sloan is draping his jacket over your shoulders.
"How are you enjoying the show?" he whispers to you then kisses you ear.
You skootch closer to him in your chair and kiss his cheek, "I'm loving it, thank you."
Sloan does the old fashion stretch-and-yawn-arm-of-the-shoulder bit and you would have held in the laugh but he had to give you that ridiculous dapper smile and wiggle his brows. You try so hard to stifle the giggles but Sloan moves your hand away from your mouth and kisses you as if he's been waiting years to do so.
It takes you back a bit, but you enjoy the passion of his kiss that is till you remember you're in a public setting. You try and tap out but he's not ready to come up for air. With no other choice you decide to reach into your purse and get his attention.
With one quick flip you switch the on button on the key fob and Sloan quickly jolts back too. You watch as he shifts in his seat, his brows furrowing as he's fighting not to show how much he's enjoying what your just started.
"I was wondering when you were going to use that," he groans, crossing his legs to hide his growing bulge.
You consider yourself lucky that no ones is nearby to hear or see what's going on. If anyone were to look back at the both of you they'd just see someone looking through their purse and the other uncomfortable and ready to go home.
You smirk at him and turn the vibrations up and then off, his face distorting in disappointment as if he was expecting more.
"Not yet. Not here," you smile.
After that Sloan get's impatient. He doesn't fully show it but you can tell that he's ready to move on from this part of the date. The show gets close to the end and the villain is finally revealed. Not ever having read the book himself Sloan seems genuinely shocked and offended that the ex's late wife is still alive and she's the one behind the curse.
You knew you would cry at the end, it was sad but happy ending with everything wrapped up and the characters' view of their hometown changed forever. Sloan tried not to show it but you could tell that he wasn't ready for that ending.
"Not what you were expecting?" you ask him.
He scratches the corners of his eyes as if he's fighting some annoying pollen allergy. "Regina did not deserve that much hate, especially when William was the one at the center of all the trouble. The curse was a bit much but she was doing it so no one else would get hurt by him!"
Sloan goes on and on about the ending until the actor who played William walks up to the both of you.
"Speak of the damn devil." Sloan laughs as he gets out of his chair.
The actor throws himself at Sloan giving him a big ol' hug.
"It's good to see you my friend, you hardly come around the theatre these days," he slaps Sloan on the arm and then looks over at you then Sloan then you again. He whispers something to Sloan and gives a full hardy laugh.
"George Oliver, double name, hate it, live with it, deal with it, go to bed with it. Pleasure to make your acquaintance," he stretches his hand out to you and you shake it.
You introduce yourself to Sloan's friend and find it hard that this guy played a terrible evil character who broke the hearts of so many women of a small town. He's giddy and over the top, more suited to play a character like Cody, the happy son of the mayor let's solve this curse kind of guy.
"I see you're back at it with playing the bad guy, I thought you were tired of being evil," Sloan asks George.
"Yes but I'm so good at it. What can I say, I love being hated and everyone loves to hate the characters I play. It's a win-win for me," he smiles.
You ask George a bit about his acting and Sloan inserts some stories from highschool here and there, adding to a fond memory of the two being a couple of dumb ass teens doing stupid stuff in theatre.
"I shan't keep you much longer, mostly because Rynan will rear his ugly head any minute now asking where William is," George sighs.
"You have my condolences..."Sloan lowers his head and puts his hand together as if to pray.
The two playfully banter and jest about Rynan until he actually appears and drags George away.
"He seems nice," you smile.
"He's a fun guy, and one that's gotten my ass out of trouble just as much as he's gotten it in it." he shrugs then stretches. "Hungry yet?"
To be honest you've been super hungry for most the day. The little snacks here and there helped but you needed an actual mean.
"Yes, and you?" you try not to see to desperate to leave and go eat, but the hunger zombie that is your brain wants food.
"Staaaaaaarved," he grumbles.
Sloan and you take the lawn chairs back to the front and he calls for a cab since his car is parked on the other side of the park and it's a bit of a walk.
After a short drive and Sloan pointing out a few of his favorite food trucks you reach Gianna's. You had no idea what to expect but it certainly wasn't this. Liz had played up the place to be super high end but that was an understatement. It's clearly reservation only and it seems that some of the staff know who Sloan is.
You start to feel a bit nervous being at a place this nice but you try your best to hide it. Sloan asked for a place that is secluded and very much out of the way which helps calm you down a tad. He orders a bottle of wine as the both of you settle into the booth, the waiter eyeing you with disparaging curiosity.
"The food here is amazing, I hope you like it," he smiles, reaching his hand across the table and taking yours.
"I'm sure I will," you smile, still hoping that he can't see how nerve wrecked you really are.
After a few minutes the waiter comes back with the wine and menus. Sloan goes ahead and orders a few appetizers and the waiter is all smiles but when you try and ask about something they completely ignore you and leave. Not wanting to make a scene you just take a deep breath and move on.
"I must say I thought you up and disappeared with how absent you've been," a tall and well dressed tiefling rounds the corner, crossing his arms as he gives Sloan a devilish grin.
"Hello Seth," he gives the man a flat smile.
"And I see you've brought a-" Seth pauses and looks at you and then at Sloan.
Here we go again, you think as you sip on your wine.
"Lover?" he asks with a shrug.
You nearly choke at his guess but it's a lot better than 'friend'.
Sloan turns to face him, his expression unreadable, "Yes and no, but that's neither here nor there. Is there something you wanted Seth? As you can see I'm-"
"No no, I just wanted to see how an old friend of a friend is doing. I know there's some hard feelings there but I hope that won't continue to keep you away from my family's establishment..." he pauses then turns to leave... "After all where would any of this be without that generous donation."
Sloan attempts to hide his disgust until he leaves then rakes his fingers over his face with a grunt.
"I'm not even going to ask what any of that was about," you hold up a hand while sipping on some more wine to get the sour taste that experience left you with. He takes a few deep breaths and you can see that he's having a hard time composing himself.
Not knowing what else to do, you reach in your bag and press the little button on the fob. Sloan jolts and nearly bangs a knee against the table.
"What are you doing," he whispers, leaning over the table.
You smile and take a sip of wine, "helping."
Sloan settles back down, less upset and more distressed with what's going on in his pants. You slide your foot up his leg, happy that the table cloth hides any indecent behavior. He tenses up and shifts a bit in the booth, then loosens up after you pet his leg a bit more.
"I hope you know what you've just started," Sloan leans onto his hands, his eyes focused on you in a way that makes you feel completely naked.
"I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about," you roll your eyes and act like you're completely enamored by the paintings on the wall.
"That's fine, I'll just have to explain it to you later...In the car, then on my couch, on the kitchen counter, possibly on the dryer, and then on my bed," he smirks.
You're used to his teasing but this is different. Is it because this is your first date or perhaps it's because you're now officially dating? You're not quite sure. Legs shift under the table and now he's lightly petting your leg with his.
"Hey, look at me..." he asks, his voice is soft and sweet.
You turn back around and there's an air of concern around him. He looks like he's about to say something but right as he does the waiter comes back around with a full tray of appetizers.
His face looks a bit nerve wrecked for some reason, his smile twisted as he looks back at you.
"Are we ready to order or do you need some more time?" he asks.
You try again to ask about the dish from before and they quickly answer without hesitation. You decide to order it and Sloan orders something you've never heard of nor want to attempt to pronounce at the moment.
"Very good, we'll get those out to you a little after you've finished your appetizers. Any desserts?" he looks over at you but Sloan tells him to make it the chef's choice.
The waiter scurries off then and to your surprise Sloan's look of disgust is back on. He eyes the entire establishment as if he's looking for something or someone, the food on the table getting cold.
"Uh Sloan is something-" you stop midsentence feeling as if getting his attention this way wouldn't work.
You reach into your purse and turn off the cock ring and instead of the jolt from earlier, Sloan turns around and with this expression that you've never seen on him before.
"I uh..." he starts before barring his face in his hands.
There's several moments of silence and it feels so heavy that you can hardly breathe.
Did I do something wrong? Should I...Should I go? He's not saying anything, he won't even look at me...What did I do wrong?
Your chest feels tight and your stomach feels queasy and before you can say anything your standing and walking briskly towards the bathroom leaving Sloan at the booth.
The bathroom is cool and quiet, leaving you blissfully alone to deal with your nausea. After a few minutes and a quick rinse you feel somewhat better. You decide that anxiety and alcohol should never be in the same room again after that.
That being said though, you're not too thrilled about going back to the booth. You have a million questions for Sloan but you're not sure if or when you should ask.
Should I really try dating someone who I can't even talk to? I feel...I feel like this is Marcus all over again...
And there it is, your biggest fear playing out again. You made yourself small in that moment. You try looking in the mirror, hoping to see what Sloan sees in you. Your makeup is smeared, your hair is a mess, and your eyes are a bit puffy from crying in the stall.
There's nothing loveable about this...
One of the wait staff walks in and makes a sound of relief.
"Ma'am, Mr. Sloan asked me to come see if you were alright," her voice is soft and sincere.
You don't know what to say, right now you just want to run out the building with inhuman speed but that won't solve anything.
She tip toes a bit closer and you hear a gasp. You finally look up and you feel relieved when you recognize the person in front of you.
"Carrie?" you sniffle. She was an old coworker from when you both were waitresses at a diner near your home.
"You're a mess," she shakes her head.
You laugh at her bluntness, something that you'd admired about her.
"I feel like a mess," you say.
"Care to talk about it or do you want me to help you with all this..."she circles her finger in the air, pointing at your messed up hair and makeup.
"Maybe a bit of both," you smile weakly.
Carrie leaves and comes back with her purse and helps fix your hair and makeup while listening to your concerns. You hated feeling like you couldn't talk to Sloan and you hate how you feel like there's this weird wall between you. He's got so much history and you don't know when or if you should ask him about it since you just started dating. It feels so overwhelming.
"So he's basically info dumping his life on you without realizing what he's doing and it's stressing you out?" she points.
You hadn't even thought about it that way but it's more or less true. Both you and Rynan did say that Sloan has those rose tented glasses.
"This is a disaster," you grumble, wiping off the eye makeup.
"It is, but are you going to let it keep being a disaster is the question?" she asks.
You grumble again and look back into the mirror. Your face is cleaned up and your hair is fixed, your eyes are still a bit puffy but they'll smooth out soon. You take a deep breath and force back anymore tears.
Tonight has had its good points, its weird points, and now its bad points. And now you're looking down on yourself in a bathroom while an old friend is trying to console you.
Carrie gives you a few more words of wisdom and her phone number to text if things go south again. She leaves you to go back to work but suddenly your slapped with confusion.
How did Sloan know I was in here?
You shake your head and take a few more deep breaths trying to muster up the courage to go back out there. It takes a few minutes to boost yourself up, that and the girls who walk in...After all nothing could be more embarrassing in this moment than giving yourself a pep talk in the women's restroom.
Walking back to the booth you do your best to look straight forward and not to think about anything else but just getting there.
One thing at a time...
Sloan is sitting there and for a split second he looks your way then back at the table, his eyes darting around. You stand next to him and when he looks up you loose all restraint and grab his face and kiss him long and hard.
"I uh...wow," Sloan sighs, his eyes blinking in disbelief.
"Stop going dark on me and start talking to me, it's messing with my head," you tell him, inspired by Carrie's bluntness.
He starts to pout so you pinch him, "Listen I know you wanted this date to be perfect but nothing in life is. Que será, será. I've had an amazing time so far and yeah some of it's been weird and this just threw a wrench into it but are we going to let it ruin the evening?"
"You're just too good to be true," he smiles as he nudges his face in your hands.
"Are we going to quote from oldies now?" you laugh, taking your hands back so you can sit back down.
Sloan straightens up with a grin, "You started it."
After that little snafu, the date goes back to normal. Sloan orders more food, even more hungry after being emotionally distressed. He opens up a bit more to which you're delighted. He explains that he was hesitant to talk more about himself since in the past the people he dated didn't really seem to care.
"I know you're nothing like them and it pains me that I'm being this guarded around you. I don't want you to find out that the real me is just this pile of garbage that only looks nice because it's been dipped in gold," he grumbles.
You pet his leg under the table and he lets out a long sigh.
"But I guess that's not fair to you. I might think of myself as garbage but when you said that I'm nice and funny and all that I felt that if I opened up anymore you'd find stuff about me that you wouldn't like," he admits.
"Oh but I already do have stuff about you that I don't like you dirty blanket thief," you smile.
Sloan softens up at that, "I've asked you to let go of some of your baggage, I guess it's only fair that I dump some of mine."
You reach across the table and take his hands, "With time and trust."
He nods his head and picks you hands up and kisses the tips of your fingers.
The waiter from before comes back with Carrie in tow. They set down a lot more food than you think you can handle but Sloan looks like he can't wait for them to just leave so he can start shoveling it into his mouth.
The food is amazing and despite your emotional hunger you're only able to pick at some of the appetizers or else you won't be able to eat the entrée you ordered. Sloan however has nearly cleared the table.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to how much food you can put away," you laugh.
He pets your leg under the table, "Does my hunger impress you that much?"
You roll your eyes and give him a light punt back.
Dinner comes and goes and you're happily stuffed by the time you're out. Sloan hails a taxi that takes the both of you back to his car. He still wants to take you to the movies and bakery but you both agree after looking at the shows that there's nothing good out.
"I should have checked before putting that on our schedule," he laughs.
You shrug, "Is there anything else you want to do?"
"Aside from the obvious?" he gives you a devilish grin.
"And what's that?" you ask.
He leans down and licks your ear, "Ravish you till you can think of nothing else but me. Have you scream out my name until you've forgotten your own. Bring you endless pleasure till you beg for mercy. I want you to scar my back with your nails, I want your voice to be the only thing I can hear, I want to taste you because I crave you."
You feel your heart beating a mile a minute and your cheeks growing oh so hot.
Proud of himself, Sloan kisses your cheek and leans back into his seat.
"So aside from the obvious, I'll have to think about it," he brings out his phone and starts to scroll looking for something to fill in the gap.
You fidget in the car seat, very hot and bothered and all too frisky. Reaching into your purse you turn on the key fob again and hear Sloan jump.
In no time at all Sloan is leaning over again and kissing you with no regard to the fact that you're still in a public parking lot. His hands start to trail up your dress but you cross your legs.
"Not here," you try and catch your breath but he keeps at.
"Now, I want you now..." he nips your neck and you make a sound that you didn't think you could.
"Dammit! Ok..." He quickly calms himself and starts out of the lot. You have no idea where he's planning on taking you but you're excited. He starts driving around then stops right outside a small strip center.
"What is-"
"Come on, I'll explain later," he's already out of the car and opening your door.
He leads you to a door that's spot has no signs. He unlocks it and turns the alarm off and the lights on. It's a small studio with bare walls and some furniture.
As you look around a bit more you hear Sloan lock the door behind him.
"Will this work?" he asks, pulling his jacket off and tossing it to the side.
"As long as you tell me about this place afterwards," you smile.
He pulls you up against him and kisses you with so much hunger you can hardly stand it. Your hands start to work at unbuttoning his shirt and you feel his reach down and start to tug at your panties.
After tugging and pulling at each other's clothes, Sloan pushes you down on one of the couches and puts his face between your legs. He growls against your pussy and tugs the lingerie aside with his teeth. You grab the back of his head and guide him further in, needing this sweet release.
He's ruthless as he brings you over the edge, he growls and grunts against you and the vibrations are absolutely delicious. When you finally come he doesn't stop, he keeps going and you nearly lose it being overstimulated. When he's finally done he stands and unzips his pants, releasing his hardened cock.
You sit up with what little strength you have and he brings his cock close to your face, but you have other ideas.
"Pick me up," you smile.
Sloan pulls you up and into his arms and kisses your neck, "Are you sure?" His voice is husky and full of need and yet he's still holding back.
"I want you to fuck me, right here, right now. Prove to me how bad you are," you hiss as you pull on his braid enough to elicit that growling you've grown to love.
There's no more words after that, only Sloan lowering you carefully on his cock before he presses you against the wall. At first he takes his time with you, slowly feeling your tightness around him. He hits all the right places and you have to do everything in your power not to scream out, but it becomes harder and harder when he speeds up.
His hot breath tickles your ear, sending shivers down your body as he keeps thrusting into you. You're a mess and you absolutely love it. He bites down against your neck making you cry out in surprise and tighten even more around his cock.
Sloan pulls you off of him as quickly as possible and cums long and hard all over you. He growls as he watches his cum drip along your lingerie, proud of his work. Your legs feel like pudding when he sets you back down on the couch.
"That was...amazing," you're still catching your breath as you lay against the couch.
Sloan hovers over you and his eyes burn into you, hot and heavy. There's something wild in the way that he's looking at, as if he's lost all sense of reality but you can't help but to enjoy being caught in it. He sits down beside you then starts to crawl over you, pinning you to the couch, "If you think we're done here, you my angel are sorely mistaken. You've given me full on permission to misbehave and trust and believe by tomorrow morning you'll know why I'm a bad boy."
You smile and pull yourself up to kiss him, "I better not be able to walk in the morning."
"I promise, but for now coffee and dessert. We're going to need energy for the things we'll be doing tonight," he kisses your forehead and gets up.
For the next few minutes the both of you clean up and get dressed, Sloan practically bouncing out of his skin to leave and get to the next place.
After locking up and leaving Sloan takes you to the late night bakery well known for its strong brew and donuts. You're both a little overzealous, ordering whatever sounds or looks good and leaving with practically a pot of coffee to go.
When you arrive back at Sloan's apartment with bags of goodies and foods, he makes the 'one trip only' move and grabs everything but your purse. You have to help him open the door and he nearly drops everything coming in but he makes a graceful rebound as he trips into the kitchen with all the goods.
Once everything is put up, you and Sloan sit down on his rather large and ridiculously comfortable couch with your coffees and some pastries. He takes a sip of his and sets it down on the table, "Now then my angel, are you ready?"
Chapter 9
-
Vegeta and Raditz land simultaneously, both Saiyans carefully observing their surroundings. All of the Dragon Balls have remained in place, but that provides very little relief. There isn't a trace of your presence, not a footprint, not even a stray hair. "Y/N!" Raditz shouts at the top of his lungs. This was a severe mistake on his part. For his own sake, Raditz better hope the Ginyu force hasn't heard all of his commotion.
Vegeta paces back and forth, his hands knotted through his hair. "Relax, Vegeta. She couldn't have gotten far." Despite Raditz's calm words, his tone gives him away completely. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that he's just as anxious as Vegeta.
Raditz's advice doesn't seem to calm down the prince even a little. In fact, he only seems to grow more distraught. "Raditz, you don't understand. I never disclosed the location of the Dragon Balls to her."
Raditz furrows his brows at the smaller Saiyan. "What the hell, Vegeta!" Never in his wildest dreams did Raditz ever imagine himself shouting at the prince. He didn't even notice that Gohan and Krillin had joined them. Hopefully, they've picked up bits and pieces of the conversation because neither Saiyan has the patience to deal with their idiocy at the moment. "Just--- What the fuck were you thinking?" Raditz doesn't understand. How can Vegeta go from ordering someone to stay glued to your side at all times to leaving you to fend for yourself on a foreign planet? It's only been a few weeks. How can he have gone through such a drastic change in such a short amount of time?
"If I knew the Ginyu Force was coming, do you think I would've left her alone!" Their bickering is doing nothing to help. In fact, it's probably making the situation worse.
"Alright. How about you both calm down." Krillin decides to jump in and play peacemaker. "Y/N seems more than capable of taking care of herself. We need to focus on the threat. We need to get this over with and summon the dragon before something bad happens."
Both Saiyans turn to the smaller earthling, glaring daggers at him. "Who gives a damn about immortality right now! You don't know the first thing about my sister! So don't stand there all high and mighty and act like you do." Krillin hit a nerve, but it wasn't just in Vegeta.
The earthling wants to revive his friends, but there is something he doesn't understand about Raditz. You've been the faint speck of light in his otherwise shitty world, the only friend the Saiyan has ever had. Even though he stood with his brother, you're still a priority over the resurrection of a handful of puny earthlings.
"Interesting to see where your priorities lie, Geta!" Your legs have been sticking out of your handcrafted shelter the entire time. It's funny to see what details people miss while they're in a state of panic. You lean forward, revealing yourself to the abnormal group. Now your entire body hangs off the mountain.
Four sets of eyes look up at you, all with varying responses present on their features. "Oh, thank god," Vegeta whispers, at an octave low enough only for him to hear. Raditz places a hand on his chest, sighing in relief as Vegeta's features contort in displeasure. "What did I tell you about pulling shit like this? Get your ass down here!"
You jump down, landing in front of the Dragon Balls. This ensures that you maintain a safe distance away from your brother just in case he decides to kill you. "Don't get your panties in a twist."
Vegeta's nostrils flare, complemented with his entire body shaking with rage. "You scared me half to death." You expected a lecture, but he's not even raising his voice. You may have freaked him out more than you originally intended.
Your lips curve upwards. "That sounds like a you problem, big brother." Something is particularly satisfying about throwing his own words in his face.
"I suppose I deserved that." His features soften. "I'm just relieved that you're alright."
Raditz walks over to you, slinging an arm around your shoulders. "Well, what did I do to deserve that scare?"
"Collateral damage Raditz. Call it a happy accident."
"Enough of the chit-chat. Now let's---" Vegeta cuts himself off as you all lookup. You can sense the Ginyu Force, and they're heading straight for you. You grab Raditz, pulling him into the homemade cave. The others were facing the Dragon Balls. There would've been no time for them to get up here as well. Your higher altitude could be used to your advantage since you'll have the element of surprise.
It's a bit cramped, but when you created the cave. You never expected to share the space with a Saiyan of Raditz's size. He takes up more space than you and Vegeta combined. You both watch the Ginyu Force land in front of a trembling Gohan, a frozen Krillin, and an aloof Vegeta. You really hope the Genius Force doesn't do those god-awful poses. You've already been traumatized enough for the week.
You decide to keep a close eye on Captain Ginyu, who is currently exchanging pleasantries with your brother. Well, as pleasant as it can get for two beings who are about to murder each other in cold blood. Followed by murmurings from various members of the Ginyu Force and Recoome's delayed laughter. "Just hand over the Dragon Balls, Vegeta. No need to make this any harder than it has to be." Vegeta's posture remains stiff. It's clear your brother isn't going to budge. Their little group is going to have to pry that orb from his dead body. "Come on, Vegeta, be a sport. We already have five." He gestures to the spheres behind him. That means Frieza will have five. Can you really trust those neanderthals to hold onto their Dragon Balls? No, you were raised to trust no one's capabilities but your own, not even Vegeta's.
Jeice looks around, his green eyes scanning around the area. "Where's that gorgeous sister of yours, Vegeta?"
Vegeta glares at the red man. "Even if my sister was here. I doubt she'd be interested, Jeice. I mean, she never has been." Oh, your brother knows all about your history with the mutant Brench-seijin. He's overly flirty, and you reject him. It was a vicious never-ending cycle. If Vegeta had no self-control, he would've murdered him years ago for even looking in your direction. In his eyes, Jeice is unworthy of a woman of your status.
"Well, with Raditz out of the picture, there's no chance for Saiyan offspring. So I figured I'd shoot my shot." You cringe. You're not sure which idea is more repulsive, a relationship with Jeice or procreating with Raditz.
"Even if you were the last man in the universe. My sister wouldn't so much as glance in your direction." Vegeta and Jeice continue going back and forth as an idea pops in your head. This may be your only opportunity to get your hands on a Dragon Ball. You're only chance to put a fork in Frieza's plans for immortality.
You silently climb out of the cave, dropping to the ground. The others can unmistakably see you, but they make no expressions alerting the Ginyu Force of your presence. You grab the closest orb before promptly flying back to the cave. Call this your insurance policy for when Krillin and Vegeta ultimately screw up. You escaped that entirely undetected. Is the term elite just thrown around loosely in the Frieza Force? Because that's what you're starting to think.
You hand the Dragon Ball to Raditz, directing your gaze back outside. "Those scouters of yours can't detect Dragon Balls, can they?" It was a rhetorical question. Vegeta knows they don't have that type of technology yet. You know how your brother thinks, and this is a faulty plan on his part. "Then you lose!" Vegeta pivots, launching the ball at an alarming speed. It would be a fatal blow to the head if it hit someone.
Burter takes off, chasing after the orb. He flips in the air, catching the ball with ease. You swear, Vegeta can be such a dumbass sometimes. He knows Burter rivals you in speed. He may even be a bit faster than you.
You shake your head, turning to Raditz, lowering your voice to a whisper. "Here's the plan. When I formulate a distraction, you're going to take the Dragon Ball and get the hell out of here. And Raditz, go hide the damn thing, somewhere no one will find it." He grins from ear to ear, causing you to glare at him. You know how this moron thinks by now. "And do not hide it with that Earth woman. That will just get her killed."
"What if that's my intention?"
"I don't think little brother Kakarot would be very pleased with you, but it's your call." You stand in silence for a moment, your piercing gaze lingering on the Saiyan. "Though, I can assure you. If Frieza gets his hands on that Dragon Ball. I'll kill you. In the most graphic and painful way, I can imagine." He gulps nervously, rapidly shaking his head in understanding. To Raditz, you're the only life form that can still sound menacing while whispering.
You revert your vision back to the little gathering outside. And as you assumed, Krillin lost his Dragon Ball as well. Ginyu decides to take Vegeta for himself, which doesn't go over well with his team. They're acting like a bunch of children. It's almost comical. "Fine." The Captain sighs. "I'll take the Dragon Balls back to Lord Frieza. You all can sort this out amongst yourselves." They chant Ginyu's name a few times. They kinda remind you of a cult.
The four lower members of the Ginyu force move to stand in a circle. "So the winner gets Vegeta. And for second place---" Guldo is cut off by Recoome.
"The rest. Make the two runts a set. Together they'll be more equal to Vegeta." Oh, that can't be going over well with your brother. The fact that Recoome would declare that those two are his equals must be sending his blood pressure through the roof.
They begin playing rock paper scissors. This must be how they decide their battles. It's like a game to them. Every single match ends in a draw. At this rate, you could be stuck up here forever.
You doze off until you hear Recoome cheering. The endless match must have finally ceased. "Ya! I get Vegeta!" Fate can be an amusing thing sometimes. Vegeta must be ecstatic, getting to show the moron just how much stronger he is than those pathetic runts.
"Of course, I'm stuck with the runts." Guldo wines. He's the last creature who should be referring to anyone as a runt. You could squash that little freak like a bug.
Ginyu approaches the Dragon Balls, picking them up with his telekinesis. He counts them before snapping his head toward the dumbest member of the Ginyu Force. "Recoome! There's only four here!"
Recoome scratches the back of his neck, that classic confused look on his face. "I'm sorry, Captain Ginyu. I thought I counted five."
Jeice turns to his superior. "I told you we shouldn't have trusted him with counting the Dragon Balls."
The Captain takes a deep breath, attempting to keep his composure. "It doesn't matter. I'll search for the missing Dragon Ball. It's probably with Y/N anyway." He takes off, heading in the direction of Frieza's ship. Well, that takes out your major concern. The others are child's play compared to Ginyu.
You pay minimum attention to Guldo's battle with Krillin and Gohan. You're more focused on finding an opening for a distraction. You begin to notice significant holes in their fight. Guldo will be in one area and then magically appear in another, and he's not teleporting. If he was, you would've been able to track his movements. Could the rumors about that green freak be true? Can he really pause time? They must be. That's the only feasible explanation. So under the assumption that Guldo can stop time, the earthlings don't even stand a chance. No matter what they do, that four-eyed freak will always remain one step ahead of them.
You do, however, pick up on something. Guldo appears to hold his breath before every skip in time. That must be a limitation in his abilities to pause time. So if those two can somehow prevent him from holding his breath, they should be able to best him. You know what, scratch that. Those two probably haven't picked up on his abnormal behaviors.
Though, the earthlings do appear to have the advantage at the moment. And the rest of the Ginyu Force won't let Guldo forget it. They're heckling him so loud that you can hear them clearly from all the way up here. Guldo's kinda like the Raditz of the group, just a lot less respected.
Guldo tosses the pair up into the air as a strange yellow light surrounds them. He's claiming it's a paralysis attack. That doesn't sound good for the earthlings.
Krillin and Gohan struggle almost as if they were trapped in invisible bindings. As far as you can tell, they're immobile. If Guldo felt the need to resort to such dire tactics, he must think that he can't take out the pair any other way. So when the earthling and the half-breed combine their strength, they're mightier than Guldo. That's quite impressive considering how weak they were back on Earth.
"Now I'm gonna show you what happens when you embarrass me in front of the boys." You clench your fists, your nails digging into your palms, as you watch Guldo intently. As much as you hate to admit it, you're going to need those two runts. So if Guldo were to kill them, it would be very unfavorable. He uses another mind trick to pull a tree from the ground, using the bottom end as a makeshift spear. He points the weapon at the pair, taunting them. He's gonna impale them with a fucking stick. What a pathetic way to go.
You do wonder why Vegeta hasn't intervened yet. He's never played by their rules before. So what's stopping him now? Your brother may simply believe that Gohan and Krillin deserve to die. For not adhering to his warning regarding the weakest link of the Ginyu Force. It's not below Vegeta to be that petty. You can't blame him though, those two fools have no sense of self-control.
The slimy green creature's obnoxious cackling invades your ears. Honestly, Guldo's just pissing you off more than he was before.
Amidst the chaos, you jump out of the cave, flying a bit to distance yourself from suspicion. You shoot a purple beam at Guldo, efficiently decapitating him. Raditz seems to have gotten the message since he checked out with the Dragon Ball sometime during the commotion. He better hide that thing somewhere safe because his life depends on it.
"Did you really think I'd let a creature as pathetic as Guldo kill anything with a drop of Saiyan blood!" Your voice booms causing all eyes to land on you. You place a hand on your chest, fixating your gaze on the Ginyu Force. "I'm hurt that you didn't include me in your little game."
"Oh, our apologies Y/N." Jeice's thick accent invades your ears. "We should have assumed. Wherever Vegeta is, you're always somewhere nearby."
You swear you can hear faint grumbling. You just can't quite locate the source. Your eyes scan over the ground until you discover the origin of the sound. Long story short, it was Guldo's severed head. So his species can survive decapitation, good to know. "Defeated by a damn Saiyan. And the weaker one at that." You could run circles around that little freak. If you went head to head, he wouldn't even be considered a challenge. Guldo's giving himself far too much credit.
Vegeta chuckles darkly. "Well, don't worry." He strides over to the talking head. "You won't have to deal with that shame for long." Vegeta finishes the job, eliminating that embarrassment of the group of supposed elite warriors.
The three remaining members complain about Guldo's demise, but it's not for the reason you may think. They're more upset about the impact his absence will have on their ridiculous pose. You wish you could say you were surprised, but you've known those idiots far too long to believe anything else.
The half-breed and earthling walk over to you, identical expressions of gratitude apparent on their faces. "We owe you one, Y/N." You roll your eyes at Krillin. It was a simple business decision. And it was nothing more than that.
Gohan nods in agreement. "Ya, thanks." You cringe at his gratitude. Why are they thanking you? You killed Guldo for your own selfish reasons.
"Your lives had nothing to do with it." Well, at least Krillin's. If Guldo did kill the half-breed, it would've been an embarrassment to your entire race in hell. "I needed a distraction. I saw an opportunity."
"She's right, so pull yourselves together. Your lives are incredibly insignificant to us." Vegeta's lying. Your brother knows you need them. He's just far too prideful to admit it.
Burter turns to Jeice, morphing his hands to prepare for another excruciating match of rock paper scissors. "Alright, Jeice. Winner gets the Princess, and the loser gets stuck with the two runts."
Jeice shakes his head. "No, Y/N's all yours." He turns to you, his green eyes meeting your own. "I could never lay a hand on a lady as fine as the Princess." You suppress a gag, deciding to keep your mouth shut. If you were to respond, there's a good chance you could end up fighting both of them.
Burter furrows his brows at his comrade. "Are you sure?"
"Ya, go crazy, Burter." It's actually a reasonable match-up. You and Burter both have incredible speed. I guess you'll finally find out who's faster.
Now with Guldo out of the picture, it's Recoome's turn to fight Vegeta. He reminds you a bit of Nappa. Since he lacks any form of self-control. His punches at your brother are erratic. He even almost hits you, Krillin, and Gohan several times. If Recoome were to hit Krillin with that kind of force, there's no doubt in your mind that it would be a fatal blow.
"Don't go killin them all yourself!" Jeice is second in command to Ginyu, so his authority over Recoome makes sense. "I get the two runts, and Burter get's the Princess of the monkeys." One minute Jeice is flirting with you. The next, he's demeaning you. Talk about mixed signals.
You watch Recoome and Vegeta trade punches, and it's starting to lack any value of entertainment. Vegeta's covered in blood while Recoome's armor is chipped, and he's now missing tufts of hair.
You begin to grow impatient. This will be the first time you've been challenged in a while. "Yo, Burter! Let's just get this over with now. We'll make this battle a double feature."
"Fine with me." The two of you distance yourselves from Recoome and Vegeta, commencing your battle as well.
Their gazes flicker back and forth between both battles. They were so enthralled in the action that neither Gohan nor Krillin noticed that Raditz had joined them.
Gohan and Krillin stick to the sidelines. They're in no hurry to fight Jeice. Even though he's significantly smaller than Recoome and Burter, Krillin doesn't think Jeice's smaller size will give them any sort of advantage.
"Raditz?" Jeice looks far from pleased. He's always been jealous of the Saiyan. Not for his strength, rather the envy stems from Raditz's luscious mane of hair. It took Jeice several years to grow his hair to an adequate length, while that fool was born with that full head of hair. Raditz meets his gaze, an arrogant smirk overtaking his features. As he waves at the green-eyed man mockingly. "But--- Y/N said you ran off!"
Mid-battle, you turn to Jeice. Without even looking, you still manage to keep up with Burter. "I'm a compulsive liar, Jeice! It's a nasty habit."
Jeice huffs, crossing his arms at the largest Saiyan. "Raditz is mine. I'm throwing him in with the two runts." A chuckle escapes your lips. He's underestimating what the three of them could accomplish together. Jeice is letting his own petty feelings cloud his judgment. How arrogant.
Krillin's brows furrow as his eyes linger on you. There's something that isn't quite adding up. He turns to Raditz and Gohan, lowering his voice to a whisper. "Hey, guys. I've been thinking about something. Remember back on Earth how Vegeta said that Saiyans get stronger after battle. Well, Vegeta's gotten stronger after several fights, but do you see Y/N? She's still able to effortlessly keep up. Even though she's barely lifted a finger. How is that possible?" The earthling's eyes widen as the gears begin to shift in his head. "Unless. Is she stronger---"
Raditz's hand covers Krillin's mouth, lowering his voice to a deadly whisper. "Silence, you earthling. Keep that big mouth of yours shut."
Krillin's teeth sink into his captor's hand, successfully freeing himself from the Saiyan's clutches. Several muffled phrases of obscenity escape Raditz's lips as he rapidly shakes his hand in an attempt to soothe the pain. "She is. Isn't she?" The look on Raditz's face told Krillin all he needed to know. "But you knew that already, and I bet you know why too. I wonder how Vegeta would feel about this?" His last sentence was clearly a passive-aggressive threat toward both you and Raditz. The earthling wouldn't be dumb enough to follow through with that threat, would he?
Raditz scowls at Krillin. How dare this pathetic little weasel attempt to threaten him. "Not a word to Vegeta. If you value your life. I'd stop talking now. Vegeta doesn't know, and it would be very unfavorable if he found out, for all of us." His tone shifts, his eyes flashing with vulnerability. "Something bad happened to us as children, and Vegeta still doesn't know about it." He returns to his menacing demeanor, your shared childhood trauma getting pushed to the back of his mind becoming yet again a distant memory. "So you will stop your absurd thoughts now. Or I can assure you. The second you resurrect your feeble friends, I will single-handedly slaughter them, and then you will follow." Krillin gulps, nodding in fear. He better pray Vegeta heard none of their conversations because he has a feeling Raditz will stick to his word.
Raditz thinks he knows all your secrets, but he's only aware of the tip of the iceberg. Below the surface lies pain and suffering the older Saiyan could never imagine from you. You keep these secrets to protect him, to protect Vegeta, and most importantly, to protect yourself. But if either of them were to find out the truth, your life as you know it would come crashing down. If they were to find out your greatest shame, your pride would be in shambles, and they would know the truth. You're just a weak Saiyan who's an embarrassment to her family name.
You're not exactly sure how much time has passed. You've completely blocked out the entirety of your surroundings, remaining focused on your battle with Burter. You can't joke around as you did back on Earth. There's no room for error today.
The two of you take turns beating the absolute hell out of each other. If you keep this up, there will be no end to this anytime soon. You shriek, spiking up your energy substantially. Burter's eyes bug out as his scouter explodes. Those pieces of junk are really no match to this energy-sensing technique.
Even though you've blocked out your surroundings, you know the two of you have moved a significant distance away from the others. You could even be on the other side of the planet by now. In the back of your mind, you can't help but worry about your brother especially, now that you're so far away. Recoome may be an idiot, but he's a strong one. You have to remain focused. You can't help Vegeta if you don't help yourself first.
You begin to get the edge over Burter. Now he's attempting to block your attacks, but due to his large size, he's failing horribly. A couple more blows, and you'll finally be able to knock him down. You've taken down guys much larger than Burter, creatures who were triple his size.
Over the years, you've learned to use your smaller size to your advantage. Making your opponent's sheer size more of a nuisance than a strength. Burter begins to struggle further. He's now barely able to keep up with you. "I'm the fastest being in the universe! How can one of you monkeys be faster than me?" You scowl at him, finding no humor in his statement as rage boils inside of you.
Unknown to you, you and Burter aren't alone. Goku has been watching your battle in awe for quite some time now. He knows he should've left to find the others, but he just couldn't help it. He can't take his eyes off of you. This is the first time he's seen you fight, and you're much stronger than the Earthbound Saiyan believed.
Your fists clench as your entire body convulses in rage. It's not often you'll lose your temper like this. Goku swears that he saw your irises flash a shade of red. He rubs his eyes, glancing back at you. Your eyes have returned to normal. Maybe Goku is just seeing things. If you knew someone was watching, you would've kept your temper in check.
Burter sends a blast of your energy your way. Which you dodge by teleporting behind him. You use all of your body weight to knock him down to the ground. You won't mock him like you typically do after defeating a foe. You won't take the chance of giving him an opening to strike back. In the palm of your hand, you create an orb of energy, disintegrating his head. Successfully, taking out your second member of the great Ginyu Force.
You fall to your knees, desperately gasping for air, before grabbing your side, wincing in excruciating pain. Damn, Burter must have nicked you good. You look to your side, noticing just how much blood has leaked through your armor. This is gonna be an issue, though you've fought through worse. You stand back up to check your body for any further damage. There seems to be no other physical damage to your form. Your armor is a bit ripped, though.
"Wow! You're really strong." You gasp, moving your fist, aiming it at whoever is in front of you. They swiftly catch your fist, preventing you from attacking. Their grip is secure enough to stop you from escaping, yet at the same time pleasantly gentle.
You move your gaze upwards, finally gathering the courage to look them in the eye. Your brows furrow as Goku's dumb face enters your field of vision. "God, Kakarot! When the hell did you get here?" You shake yourself out of his grasp, taking a few steps back, putting some distance between you two.
"A while ago." He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "I got distracted by your fight." So he was observing you the whole time. Why does that make you feel incredibly self-conscious?
"Of course you did." You sigh, moving several strands of hair out of your face. Goku steps closer to you, bringing his hand to meet your forehead. It's so big that it takes up the entirety of your forehead and even the top of your head. "Kakarot. What the hell are you doing?"
"Just be quiet for a second." It's official. Goku has lost what was left of his mind. "So it is true. You guys are working together. And that Frieza guy is a much bigger deal than I thought." How does he know about all of that? And why is he still touching you?
You slap his arm, convincing him to remove his hand. "And why's that?"
"Because you're afraid of him."
Your face flushes. "I'm not scared of Frieza. I'm not afraid of anything." Your cross your arm, averting his gaze.
"Yes, you are." He pouts. "I saw it." Kakarot saw it? How the hell--- Did Kakarot acquire the ability to read thoughts? Is that even possible?
You decide to divert his mind from his accusations. Knowing Kakaort, that shouldn't be hard at all. "Since when can you read minds?"
He rubs his chin, lost deep in thought. "I don't know--- I just had a feeling."
"Well, let's go. And new rule." You bring your hand up, pointing your index finger at the buffoon. "Stay out of my thoughts!"
He holds up his hands in surrender, nodding. "Are we gonna go find that Captain Ginyu guy?"
"No. We have to go make sure that Recoome and Jeice haven't killed the others first. Don't bite off more than you can chew." Goku has this aura around him. You can tell he's gotten stronger. He just needs to learn how to get his priorities in order.
Okay. All you have to do is pin down someone's energy. There are at least four sources to choose from, so this should be fairly simple. You shut your eyes. This should help you concentrate adequately.
"Ohh, what's that?"
Your head snaps toward Goku. "What?" You swear the man has an attention span equivalent of an insect.
He bends down, observing the ground intently. "It's like a green string."
"A green--- Kakarot! Don't!" But you were too late. He's already yanked the tripwire.
The ground concaves beneath you, causing you to lose your footing as the two of you fall down into the pit. You fall on top of Goku. Unintentionally straddling the Saiyan. And if you thought this situation couldn't get any more awkward, you'd be wrong. Goku's arms are wrapped securely around your waist, holding you in place. Your heart feels like it's beating out of your chest. And your face feels like it's been set aflame. As your eyes lock, your face only turns a deeper shade of crimson. "D-Don't touch me!" You're stuttering. What the hell is happening to you?
His brows furrow. "You're the one who fell on top of me!"
"It's not my fault." His classic pout spreads across his lips. "How was I supposed to know that the ground would collapse?"
"W-Well, you're the reason we're in this mess!" You stand up, wanting to get as far away from Goku as possible. You don't like the way you feel around him. The only time your pulse should be racing like this is during combat.
"Well, it wouldn't be called a trap if you could see it!"
"I don't get why you're so mad. Can't we just fly out?"
You snicker as your lips curve upward. "Give it a shot, Kakarot." You know it won't work, but at least his failures will provide you with some quality entertainment. It would be a pretty pathetic trap if you could simply fly out. Goku flies up, slamming his head on the invisible barrier. You break out into a fit of laughter as he falls back down. Goku jumps back up, rubbing the back of his head. "Ouch. Did you know that would happen?" Your giggling dies down as Goku begins looking around the hole. "How did this place even get here? Is this Frieza's work?"
"No. It's definitely the work of the Namekians. Frieza wouldn't be able to formulate something so elaborate in the amount of time he's had. Besides that dictator never does any of his own dirty work."
"Well, let's just sit back and relax. I'm sure we'll be fine. Someone will have to find us eventually." He has such a laid-back attitude. Maybe another alien baby crash-landed on Earth. Because with every second that passes, you're finding it harder to believe that Goku has Saiyan ancestry.
"Oh, ya, let's just relax." You mock him. "While the others are probably getting chopped up into little pieces by the remnants of the Ginyu Force as we speak!"
"Why are you always so negative?" Is he serious? Do you have to spell out why this is potentially a very dire situation? You'd think he would show more concern for his son.
Your hands meet the sides of your head. You're practically yanking your hair out at this point. To say you're frustrated would be an understatement. "God, why am I constantly getting trapped in enclosed spaces with your idiotic bloodline! First, it was your spawn, then it was your moronic brother, and now I'm stuck with you. And you're somehow the worst of them all!" Goku just stands in front of you like a statue with that goofy smile plastered on his face. "And stop smiling when I yell at you!"
Being stuck down here with Kakarot will be the ultimate test of your willpower----
-
Will the others make it to Y/N and Goku in time? Or will Y/N kill Goku before they even get the chance? Find out in the next chapter of The Princess of All Saiyans!
[Human realm, three weeks BBI]
Luz crouched close to her task. Eda's lesson really came in handy. Picking a door lock, she never thought she'd be so grateful for an unmodern store. Standing by her side, only perceivable to her, the empress stood watching her progress.
Empress Luz: "I know you want to say it, just say it. What do you want?"
Since they came back, Luz's glyphs hadn't worked once. At first, she thought magic didn't exist here. But if that's the case, why was her angry counterpart still stuck to her.
Luz: "How come you're still here? I mean, my dream of being a witch is dead on this side, right?"
Empress Luz: "Ok, let me put this in terms you can understand. Congratulations, chica, you're an astronaut. Let's think of the Boiling Isles as earth and magic is the air we breathe. This side is the moon. On the Boiling Isles, magic is everywhere. Here, looks like we're S.O.L."
Luz: "So, you're what?"
Empress: "Holding my breath for you... to finish the job."
The tumblers finally obeyed the thief working on the outside. Luz didn't have much aside from some old clothes from home and the Empress' outerwear. The store inside should have some cash and new stuff to try on. She needed to avoid being recognized. Also, she kept getting glares when she entered stores during the day.
Luz: "Does that mean, if I wait long enough, you'll die?"
An note of optimism was detected.
Empress Luz: " You should be so lucky. No, I don't think so. I'm the only magic you brought over. So, WE'RE holding our breath."
The cash register was the first task they needed done. Emptying the register, they now browsed their options.
The place didn't look like anything exceptional. But one jacket caught Luz's eye. She put it on and felt... something.
Luz: "What do you think?"
Empress: "A little big, don't you think? And do you really like the color green that much?"
They both realized what this jacket was to her. For whatever reason, this jacket made Luz miss the others less. Almost like a sort of comfort cloth.
Man: "Who's there?!"
A flashlight broke through the dark and nearly blinded Luz. She dove for any cover that would keep her out of sight, bumping into something.
Empress Luz: " What are doing?! Let me tak..."
Almost like hitting the mute button, something landed on Luz's head. In that instant, she noticed her partner disappeared. She raced out the door and as far away as she could get. Once she was clear, she examined the hat on her head.
Empress Luz: "Stop ignoring me!"
The instant she took off the beanie, her partner reappeared in front of her.
Now there was some magic.
It would be another three weeks before she'd make it back to Bonesborough. But they were clearly on the right track.
[Present day, Blight manor]
Amity stirred awake in her old bed. She felt like she'd dreamed about something important.
The first thing she noticed was her old room, not remembering how she got there.
Luz: "No, wait, you can't!"
Her girlfriend's voice echoed from somewhere in the manor. She bolted out of bed and ran out to find the source.
Willow: "It's only fair. After all you put us through, this is the least you can do."
Gus: "I wouldn't call myself a 'vengeful guy'. But I do want to see this."
Amity practically jumped the stairway to see what was going on. Luz sat, tied up by vines, while her friends stood around her. Willow had a pair of memory tweezers while Gus held a memory print.
Amity: "What're you doing?"
Willow: "Luz wants to make amends. This is it."
Gus: "But you should be here, too. Take a look at this."
Snickering, he handed Amity the prize in his hand.
Luz: "No, come on, give me a break."
Willow: "If we wanted to settle things, once and for all, we could go fishing in her memories. That's what she said."
Gus: "We didn't find anything nefarious. But we did snag these nice beauties."
Scratch that, he handed her the prizes in his hand.
A few memories of Nevareth Bladestrife, teen Prince of Angstmore. Amity didn't say a word as she examined the recollections in her hand.
Luz: "Ames? You ok, linda?"
Amity: "So, who's this?"
Luz( visibly nervous): "No one, really. He's not even real."
Amity: "You sure? It looks like you think about him a lot. You had an imaginary boyfriend?"
Luz: "He's just... not even worth mentioning. I mean, he's got nothing on you, Ami."
Unfortunately, Amity flipped the print to reveal a small note written in ( what looked like) Luz's handwriting.
Goodbye, flawless pecs
Amity stared Luz down with one of the most menacing glares she'd ever seen.
Amity: " Well, if you say so, then it's fine. If he's not worth mentioning, he's not worth remembering, right?"
She lit a small fire in her other hand and dangled the pictures over it.
Luz: "Wait! You don't want to do that."
Amity: "Why not? You want to make amends, right?"
Luz: "Right! Let me out of this chair and I'll tell you all the truth."
Willow and Gus stopped snickering amongst themselves. Luz's proposal seemed like something worth seeing. Her friend undid the vines and let Noceda take a step forward.
Luz: "The truth is..."
In a swift moment, she surprised Amity with a kiss. Stunning her girlfriend, she swiped the memories back and placed one arm around her.
Luz: " We're official! Amity and I are dating. There's no reason to bother with these. So, I'll just take them back and we don't have to talk about him ever again. Agreed?"
Luz would later understand the wrath of a Blight, later. For now, she pocketed the memories.
Gus: "Wait, when did you figure it out?"
Luz: "Well, last night...wait, what do you mean by that?"
Her two best friends looked at each other, awkwardly.
Willow: "It just seems like... you were the last to know."
Luz: "...."
Gus: "You kind of already acted like a couple. I mean, when did you find out she liked you?"
Luz: "Right after..."
Her pause might have made anime fans proud.
Luz: "Point is, we're both where we want to be. Right, Ami?"
Amity: "When did you start calling me that?"
Luz: "Last niiiiiiiiiight."
Last night? Last night was a blur. She remembered grudgby and dancing but that was it. She didn't even recall how she got back last night.
Gus: "Um, speaking of last night, are you just getting out of bed? It's past noon."
Looking down at herself, she was wearing an orange and white striped pajama top with purple pants.
Amity shot a death glare at the last person she remembered being with.
Luz: "I swear, I didn't do anything weird! You were really tuckered out. I carried you home and that's it, I swear!"
She redirected her wrath to the others.
Amity: "Don't you all have somewhere to be?"
Gus: "Not really."
Luz: "You told me to quit my job."
Willow: "My boss didn't come in this morning."
Amity: "Get out!"
Just as they were leaving, Luz sheepishly tried to be cute.
Luz: "So.....stripes?"
And with that, Willow had to pry her boss off while Gus pulled Luz to safety.
[Last night, Hexside's gymnasium]
Luz: "I think I want to tell you where the staff is."
Taking a step back, Amity knew she was being sincere.
Amity: "Where is it?"
Luz: "With you, carino."
Not realizing what she meant, Luz poked her forehead.
Luz: "In here, with the witch I trust the most."
Amity had mixed feelings about this.
Amity: "No, you need someone to cast that spell on you. Who pulled you out? When did you even do that?"
Luz: "I'm kind of two for one package deal now. Not to mention, a quick study. Remember when you caught me in your room and I sent you a snoozing? It was after that."
Amity: "You knocked me out and went into my head?!"
Luz: " I'm getting the impression you're angry."
After taking one deep breath, she grabbed Luz by her face and pulled her close.
Amity: "Just, please, give it to me and we can go from there."
She was being pretty bold tonight.
Luz: "I can't say 'no' to that face. Especially like this, keeper of the staff."
Knowing full well that was a bad joke, she proceeded with Amity's request.
Amity(thinking to herself): "Please don't do anything weird. Please don't do anything weird. Please don't do anything weird. Please don't do anything weird."
Luz(echoing in Amity's head): "You know, I can hear you, in here. It's really a lot like what I've been living with on a day to day.."
Amity: "LUZ!"
Luz: "Right, right, we can talk about that later."
Popping out, Luz stood in front handing out the staff.
Luz: "One sure fire proof of my trust of you.. for you."
Her most trusted companion took the gift in her hand.
Amity: "It's the real thing. You actually meant it."
There was no mistaking the smug look on the latina's face as she placed her hands behind her head.
Luz: "Yep, we can be honest with each other."
Amity cut her off by raising her arm up. Now, the room had a serious tone shift.
Luz: "What're you doing?"
Amity: "You'd never lie to me, right? With or without this thing?"
Luz: "Bebe, this isn't funny."
Fear, once again, gripped a member of the Blight family.
Amity: "I order you to tell me the truth, what are you doing here?"
Luz: "I'm on a date with you."
Luz couldn't stop herself from answering, but she tried tweaking her answers.
Amity: "Why did you come back to Bonesborough?"
Luz: "I wanted to be with you all again."
Amity: "Are you planning something behind my back?"
Things were getting worse as it became apparent that Noceda didn't want to answer.
Luz: "Our second date, maybe. Now, can you give me that back, please?"
Amity: "One last thing, the empress is still in you, right? Neither of you are going to hurt anyone, right?"
This time, Luz covered her mouth, muffling her response.
Amity: "Take your hands off and tell me the truth!"
This feeling of once again not being in control of her own body; brought tears to her eyes.
Luz: "I don't want to hurt anyone. But I can't say the same for her."
Empress Luz: "GET THE STAFF!"
Amity found herself gripped from behind by a giant abomination hand. She looked back to see the Otabin mutant was still there.
Amity: "Wait, how are you doing that?"
The empress simply took back her staff and looked disgusted at what just happened.
Empress Luz: "I think I'm done answering questions."
Luz: "I pulled out all the stops for you, carino. It's my own 'little' mix of abomination, plant, illusion, and potion. Something that can keep on going, even if my finger stops spinning."
She just gazed at the object in her hands.
Luz: "I gave this to you because I trusted you."
The goo around Amity hardened; preventing her from moving a finger.
Luz(sadly): "You just couldn't help yourself, could you?"
She reached into the almost solid goo and searched Amity's pocket. Pulling out the tweezers just before the muck became rock hard.
Luz: "Thanks for the date, bonita. I'll be sure to remember it."
She held Amity's head still as she pulled out her memories of the date. Contrary to her pleas, Luz burned the ones that held the night's closing events. Her girlfriend felt the effects and passed out.
Empress Luz: "We'll have to clean this up."
Luz: "Hold on, I don't want to leave her like this. This could seriously damage her mind."
Luz used the tweezers on herself and pulled a couple memories. She done this before, unbeknownst to anyone else. When Willow's memories were burnt, her personality changed. Luz discovered that she could sort of keep that from happening by putting place holders.
After she had done the deed, she picked up the sleeping green haired witch in her arms, princess style.
Empress Luz: "Even after all that?!"
Luz: " You feel the same way, right?"
The two had gotten unbelievably good at switching control between them.
Empress: "What about the staff?"
Luz: "It can wait. I want to take her home and just forget this ever happened."
To her dismay, she knew her partner wouldn't simply "forgive and forget".
Empress: "Before we go, I think we should check her memories. I mean, it's only fair after what she just pulled."
Complying with her internal partner, they discovered the two other conspirators. She took the staff and hid it. She also took Amity home, but not before she made sure the coast was clear.
Willow and Gus would have no memory of their findings. They would be left to believe their investigations had come to a dead end. Reporting to Amity only that Luz Noceda had nothing to hide.
Author's note:
I just want to make two things clear.
1.) In "Understanding Willow", Willow's brain appeared to be faulty after her memories were burnt. I figured Amity might unknowingly experience something similar AFTER Luz left her in her room. No funny business. Amity was half asleep and disoriented when she changed into her new attire.
2.) I've wondered, how Amity might react to Nevareth or Luz's other crushes? I just wanted to throw that idea into the hat.
Revival (BNHA OC)
Chapter 2: Learning Something New
Tumblr media
Keeping herself hidden from her villainous father, and studying to be a hero for the sake of her and her deceased mother, Sunako Homura pushes her way through countless challenges in her highschool years. Will she lose it all, or lose herself?
Story Genre: Fluff, Angst, Romance, Family/Comfort
Tags/Trigger Warnings: Gore/Blood, Suicidal attempts, Alcohol, Language, Panic Attacks
_______________________________________________
He glared at me on his way out. Douche.
"Homura, your costume is here.", Aizawa says, pulling out a suitcase labeled 21.
I grinned, taking the suitcase from him. "Thanks."
When everyone left, I made my way to a bathroom and changed. I huffed, staring at my reflection, smoothing out my suit. I walked out, finding my way to where everyone was waiting and they all turned to me.
"Wow, Homura! That's a pretty cool costume.", Uraraka says. "Thanks.", I said, looking down at hers. "Yours is cute."
She blushes. "C-cute...?"
"Don't you think it's a bit tight for a boy?", a smaller purple haired boy asks, looking me up and down.
"Can I kill him?", I hear Tatsuo ask in my head. No, behave.
I sweatdropped, backing away from him. “Mind your business.”
"Alright! It's time for your first task of the day!!", I hear All Might's voice booming. "Let's get on with it, you bunch of newbies!"
I can't believe I get to work as All Might's student....
"Your task of today will be Hero V. Villains. Team A will be Homura, Uraraka and Midoriya. Team B will be Todoroki, and Shoji. Team C will be Bakugou, and Iida. Team D, Ashido, and Aoyama. Team D, Sato and Koda. Team E, Kaminari, and Jirou. Team F, Tokoyami, and Asui. Team G, Hagakure and Sero, finally, Team H is Kirishima, and Ojiro.", All Might finishes.
We all look at our teammates with either smiles, looks of confusion or nods.
"Looks like we're working together, Homura!", Uraraka says. “Yeah.”, I mutter.
Midoriya walks up to me. "Are you ready, Homura?" I nod. "Yeah. By the way, that guy we're going up against... what's his problem?"
He grimaces. "It's kinda...it's a complicated thing. Kacchan's angry that I'm here."
"Kacchan...?", I asked, tilting my head a little in confusion. "Ohh, that's his nickname?", I asked, catching on. He nods. "Pretty much."
"Yeah, I still think Deku should be your hero name! I think it shows bravery!", Uraraka says, making Midoriya burst into a blushing mess. Deku…?
"In these lots, are the heros and the villains. The villains are supposed to have a weapon inside the building, endangering citizens and hostages in there. The heros are either supposed to evacuate the citizens or defeat the villains without having that weapon blow with the time ticking down. These two teams....." , he pulls out two balls. "Will go next!!"
A vs. C.....
I look over at Team C.
Bakugou glared past me toward Midoriya. What does he have against him....?
"Looks like we're going against him.", I whisper to Uraraka and I notice she's shaking. "Are you really scared of this guy...?"
"He does look intimidating with his costume...", she says.
I frown. There's nothing he can do against us if he wants to be a hero.
Team C walks past us and into the building. We found our way up a few steps of stairs and found a map to the rest of the building.
"We got the map, let's go.", I say.
We only got to the 2nd floor and Bakugou's already sent a surprise attack, sending us back. "Midoriya, Uraraka! You guys okay!?", I asked.
"He only grazed me.", Izuku responded.
I looked back at Bakugou, but his gaze was on Midoriya.
"Why're you dodging me, Deku....? Use that damn quirk.", he mutters.
"I knew I'd be his priority...", Midoriya mumbled.
"Damn straight!!", Bakugou threw a right punch toward him and Midoriya grabbed his arm.
"I won't let you hit me!!", Midoriya yelled and flipped Bakugou over.
Everyone stood in shock as Bakugou became winded.
"Kacchan... I'll never become your personal punching bag anymore.... I'm not the same weak Deku you know. I'm more than that! From now on, DEKU IS THE NAME OF A HERO!!"
Bakugou looked like he was about to blow. "You just pissed me off....", Bakugou mutters.
He stalks over to Midoriya. "Uraraka, Homura, get away from here!!", Midoriya yells.
Uraraka runs but I stay. "You're gonna need help. Uraraka can take care of that Iida guy."
He looks at me but dodges another attack from Bakugou.
"WHY ARE YOU IGNORING ME!?", he yells.
"Dude, get a grip!", I yell and stomp the floor making the platform rise above him.
Midoriya drags me somewhere around the corner and continues running as Bakugou’s screaming sounds further away.
"Is this the plan now? We’re running!?", I ask.
"Not exactly. I need another plan now.", Midoriya says.
"QUIRK OR NO QUIRK, YOU'LL NEVER BEAT ME, DEKU!!!", I hear Bakugou roar behind us.
We kept running until we made it to the 4th floor and eventually took a break to breathe. I leaned on the wall, "Do you think we passed it up....? Uraraka's gotta be around here somewhere.", I say.
"I think she's already past us.", he says and starts muttering to himself.
I look around to hear faint footsteps. "Midoriya...."
He's still muttering.
"Mi-"
"Deku...."
I look up as Bakugou turns from around a corner.
"We're dead...", I say.
"Why don't you use your quirk, Deku...? You're looking down on me, aren't you...?", he sneers with an intense glare.
"W-what...?", Midoriya whispers and shakes his head. "I'm not afraid of you anymore, Kacchan!"
Bakugou frowns and holds his hand out to us.
"As your stalking ass may know, my sweat is what powers up my quirk. My sweat is made of nitroglycerin.", he explains.
Is that why I was smelling burnt caramel....?
"These grenade gauntlets are holding the very thing that makes my regular attacks seem small.", he says grinning. "If I were to...you know...pull the pin on one of these...", he reaches for the pin on the gauntlet.
"You'd be stupid. Were you not listening earlier? I’d only absorb it.", I exclaim.
He only grins. "If you can dodge it, you'll live!!", he says, pulling it.
I pull Midoriya behind me as I start absorbing the heat.
Bakugou's frown deepens.
I swallow the rest of the blast and grin. "I told you. That was useless, but thanks for the meal."
"Homura, that was amazing!", Midoriya boasts.
"Good thinking and defense, Young Homura!", I hear All Might .
The only bad thing about it, that blast was huge. I'm already full.
"I need to let the blast go. I'm full.", I whisper to Midoriya, rubbing my stomach.
"WHAT THE FUCK!!", Bakugou yells, and stomps.
We both look at him in shock.
"The fuck is going on!?", he yells and stomps again.
"Use your quirk, Deku!! Stop holding back!!", he yells.
"What's the status, Uraraka...?", Midoriya whispers into the earpiece.
"I got to the weapon and Iida's really getting into this role.", she replies.
"So is Bakugou.", I say.
"Uragh!! Fuck it!! Let's just fight!!", Bakugou yells running towards us.
I get into a defensive stance as he runs to Midoriya.
I'm not his priority...I gotta stop him from trying to kill Midoriya.
He thrashed against me as he managed to get me off his back. I pulled at his shirt as he dragged me.
"Damn you!! Get the fuck off me!!", he yells at me and drags me with him.
He's a weapon even without his quirk. Just how powerful is this guy!?
I dug my feet into the floor attempting and hoping to slow him down. "How's it going up there, Uraraka!?!", I call into the earpiece.
"I still need a little help!", she replies.
Bakugou grabs me by my collar and slams me down, taking the wind out of me.
I roll into my side, "This is bad,” I groan. “Midoriya, run!!", I yell and Bakugou kicks me off to the side.
"Run all you want, Deku!! I'll find you and I'll crush you!!", Bakugou yells with a creepy smile.
"Dude's got problems...", I mutter, getting up and running towards him, sending a drop kick, but he grabs my foot and slams me down again.
Midoriya, you had better come up with a plan!!
I used the explosion he practically fed me and shot it near his feet.
He looks at me and shouts at the roof. "All Might, that's unfair!! I can't use my explosions, but he can throw one right back!?"
"I had to let it out, idiot!!"
Bakugou growls and runs toward Midoriya, leaps over him, grabbing Midoriya by one arm. "Here's your favorite move, Deku!! Your favorite right swing!!", Bakugou yells swinging him around.
"Don't you ever forget what you are!!", he declares, slamming him down. "You're a weakling!!"
Midoriya gets up, shakily. "Why won't you use your damned quirk, Deku!? You like looking down on me, don't you!? You have been ever since we were kids!!"
They've known each other that long...?
"You're wrong....," Midoriya whispers. "You're an idiot!! I know that you're better than me, so that's why I wanna beat you!! Because you're amazing!!"
"COME AT ME, YOU DAMN NERD!!!"
I gotta do something....! They'll kill each other!!
"STOP IT!!"
The mixture of Bakugou's power and Midoriya's power combined was enough to get Uraraka to the weapon...
"....what...?"
I collapse, getting crushed under some of the debris. "This was all I could do....", the last thing I could hear before passing out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"You're finally awake!", I heard a female's voice and looked up to see an old woman hovering over me, her lips puckered.
"You're.... Recovery Girl...", I mutter, looking at her attire, then looked up at the ceiling.
"What happened....?"
"You were crushed under the debris of the practice building. Luckily you had a sprained arm and it should be healed by now, due to your amazing recovery rate.", she explains.
"How'd I get here...?", I rasped, and widened my eyes looking down at my wrapped up arm.
"A student carried you here. Don't worry, I won’t tell anyone.”, she gave me a knowing smile, gesturing to my wrapped chest. “I won’t pry or tell. Also, Midoriya is doing just fine.", she says.
I let out a breath of relief that I never knew I was holding and got up to leave.
"Thank you.", I say and leave the room.
I was about to head home until I heard yelling outside.
"It was given to me!! No matter what, I couldn't tell anyone! I know it sounds like it came out of a comic book, but I'm serious.", I see Midoriya yelling at Bakugou, looking at the ground.
"I still can't fully control it...it's just a borrowed power!"
What....?
"I'm nowhere near strong....! But still.... I'll make it my power. Then, I'll surpass you.", he says.
"What....?", Bakugou whispers.
"What the hell is that....? 'Borrowed power'.....? I don't understand. Did you really come over here spouting some bullshit.....? To make a bigger fool of me...!? Huh!? Even if you're not....so what!?!", Bakugou yells.
"Today you beat me, you shit nerd!! That's all there is to it!! What more do you need!?", he grips his head.
"And, get a look at that fuckin' ice creep! There was no way I could've stood up to that!! That ponytailed bitch was right, I was fuckin' reckless!! Fuck!!", he drops his hand and I faintly see sparkles in his eyes.
"Damnit! Dammit!! Dammit!!! NEXT TIME, IT WON'T HAPPEN! I'LL BEAT YOU!! I'LL BECOME THE BEST! I'LL BE NUMBER ONE!! YOU GOT THAT!? I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!!", with that he walks away rubbing his face with his arm.
I sigh and frown. This is ridiculous, even for him.
"He's acting like a complete child. It was nothing more than a test, not some competition.", Tomohiro says, in my mind.
Midoriya sighs.
I hear fast footsteps behind me, making me move out the way.
"BA-KU-GOU! I FOUND YOU!", All Might exclaims with a smile, clasping his hands on Bakugou's shoulders.
I snickered and jumped over the wall outside the school gates, and leaned on it.
"Self confidence is a very powerful thing, my boy! There's no way you couldn't be fitting for a hero.", All Might says.
If he keeps going the way he's going, there's no way pros will accept him.
"Get off me, All Might. I can't walk. And let me make this clear for you too.", Bakugou says. "I'll be more powerful than you, too. I'll get past you."
.....what...?
"O-okay...", All Might says.
I heard Bakugou's footsteps as he turned to the left and walked far enough from the gates and turned over his shoulder a little, glaring at me. "You. Fight me."
The fuck, dude....?
I walked up to him. "Didn't you have enough from earlier....?"
His glare only intensified.
I sighed, rolling my eyes. "Alright. Where, so I can get this over with."
"The beach. Meet me there no later than 7.", he said and started walking off. Rude, bossy and arrogant. A whole package.
I walked his way and I saw his shoulders getting tense by the second.
"Why the fuck are you following me!?", he turned to me and yelled.
I stopped. "I go down this way, moron."
He scoffs. "Whatever.".
"How was the first day, kid?" Shura asks as I walk in. She gasps seeing my bandaged face.
I just groaned. "There's a guy that wants to brawl again."
She sits up. "Really? Wait, again!?"
I nod and walk upstairs to my room.
I got dressed in my black windbreaker and red joggers, running a hand through my hair, letting out another exasperated sigh.
I understand that it was none of my business....but what the hell....?
Tatsuo appears and sits on my bed, the creaking mattress giving under his weight. "You sure you wanna go fight? You'd be exposing yourself."
I shrugged. "I mean it's whatever. I'm not the one with the problem."
He crossed his arms. "You also don't have to do this."
I give him a nod. "I know. But what's the harm in doing a little sparring?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tony decided today instead of staying in the tower and relaxing, maybe having a movie marathon or something that we should go shopping to get me some more clothes since I keep telling him that I only have a few outfits to wear that are comfortable when he asks why I'm wearing the same outfits again and again.
The outfits are mostly my old sweats and sweatshirts along with a couple of baggy dress shirts and dress pants that I feel comfortable lounging around the tower or going out in, because they cover me completely and hide my plushness from the prying and judging eyes of other people.
I've been wearing the same outfits on rotation for the past month or two instead of wearing the new dresses or skirts I said I loved and fit good when he bought them for me, even when they were a bit snugger and showed more skin than I'd like them to. But at the time they seemed like a great idea to get because while they were a bit snug, they were beautiful, soft, and lovely material that highlighted my figure and bust. But lately I haven't been as confident as I was when I first got those outfits and wore them around and out and about.
But now looking at myself in these dresses, skirts, and tight shirts they just show to much of me and dont look right on my body anymore, they show too many of my rolls and plushness. "You need more than a measly few outfits to wear love and you know it. If those clothes we bought didn't fit comfortably you should have just said something and we could have gotten a different style or size for you that would have been more comfortable."
He says with a sigh not budging about going shopping and seemingly pouting that I didn't tell him about the clothes not fitting comfortably until now especially since some of the ones I'm refusing to wear are his personal favorites. "I don't think they have any bigger sizes." I muttered. "Hmm what was that?" "Nothing give me a minute to get ready and we can go." I said heading to our shared bedroom to put some light makeup on, tame my hair, and change out of my sweats.
Once I'm finished I walk out and over hear Tony talking to someone so I stay behind the corner to eavesdrop. "Yeah Y/n and I are planning on going on a quick shopping spree but I'll see if she wants to go to afterwards and meet up with everyone and maybe I can talk her into getting a new bikini while we're out to wear to the beach."
"Okay we'll see you there but don't try to trick her into wearing anything she isn't comfortable with Tony." I think that was Steve he was talking to and said "we'll" see you there so is the whole team going to be there? If it's just us that could be fun but last time the "private" beach we went to was anything but. Luckily I had my one piece on and could cover up with my towel. Tony takes any opportunity and turns it into a party. "Me!?! Trick her! Never!" He said sounding appalled making me giggle and reveal my hiding spot.
Knowing very well that he's always up to something and trying to get me to do all kinds of crazy things from experiments in the lab, to getting me drunk from the expensive alcohols that he loves but I can't really stand the taste of. Knowing I was busted I walked around the corner and kissed Tony on the cheek from behind. "Oh there you are Y/n! Are you ready to go sweetheart?" He asks smirking at me with playful look for catching my eavesdropping. "Yeah I'm ready."
(Small timeskip to the shopping center.)
"Oooh I like this one!" Tony says swinging around showing me a nearly see threw black button up shirt with a plunging neckline. "Tony that's basically see threw I can't wear that!" I said embarrassed cheeks heating up at the thought of anybody seeing me in something like that. "Yes you can, if you only wear it for me!" He says with a cheeky grin. I sigh and continue look it through the rack of clothes in front of me.
Most if not all of these clothes are way to small for me. I sigh and continue down the isle looking for cute but comfy clothes that won't hug my body. Which is proving to be more and more difficult with nothing being in my size, and with Tony only picking out provocative clothing. I'm feeling more discouraged and upset by the minute deciding to give up on finding anything today I turn to tell Tony let's just go to the bathing suit store to pick out a new bathing suit for the "not a party at the beach" he managed to convince me into going to.
Until I see Tony with an armful of clothes that upon further investigation are a bunch of outfits I wanted to get but were way to small for me to wear there must be 20 something outfits in his arms while he's talking to the sales associate. "Hi, yes I need all of these 3-4 sizes bigger." He says dumping the clothes into her arms. Looking closer it looks like he got the biggest ones of each outfit which would only need to be 2-3 sizes bigger to fit me well. "I'm sorry sir but these are as big as we carry and besides these would just be a waste on someone like her if that's who their meant for. I mean no offense but they wouldn't even fit like they were made to on someone of her size." She spat sounding irritated and disgusted not apologetic by any means.
"The way they fit, or look, are up to her to decide. Not you or anyone else and say something like that again and I'll have your job by the end of the hour. So again I would like all of these 3-4 sizes bigger so they are comfortable for my girl over there." He motions to me with his head looking as pissed off as he sounds, and the way he said 'my girl' was very possessive. My eyes widen and my face heats up from embarrassment from what she said and the confrontation in general but I'm touched and happy with how he's defending me.
"And if you don't have any bigger sizes then custom tailor it to fit. If you need her measurements I'll send them to you. Here's my card and I expect to be contacted by the end of the day with all of these resized and ready for pickup." The women looks deathly pale after taking and reading the card realising she just offended Tony Stark. Knowing that his threat to her job moments ago was in fact real and emanate if she didn't comply. Seeing her so petrified makes a part of me smug knowing next time she'll think before she speaks at least.
"Yes! Right away, I'm so sorry sir they will be ready by the end of the day! You can pay for them then. I'll be right back." She squeaks out and runs off with the clothes with her head down and tail tucked between her legs hopefully feeling as embarassed and upset as am from her comments. I wrap my arms around my self with head down now that she's gone I feel tears pricking the edges of my eyes hearing her say that just proved what I've been thinking about myself is true that I'm so big that it's repulsive to be this size, hell I can't even fit into a single thing in this entire store without it being tailored to fit, that should say something.
"Hey don't listen to her sweetheart she's just jealous I'm with you and not her. Everything she said was just a spiteful lie trying to get under your skin." He says lifting my head up and wiping under my eyes where a few silent tears slipped past without me knowing. He kisses me softly and hugs me tucking me under his chin while his hands rub up and down my back. I snuggle closer with my eyes closed holding him tight. "C'mon Y/n let's go pick out that swim suit!" He says sounding excited and let's go of me grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the store and down to the next trying to get my mind off of the rude sales associate.
(Another small time skip where we just arrived at the beach.)
"Hey you guys made it!" Steve runs up in just his swim trunks, hair wet, and sand sticking to him like someone pushed him down onto the sandy shore of the beach just moments before. "Yeah we're just gonna go set up our stuff then we'll join you guys in the water." Tony replies with his arm wrapped around me. Steve smiles and nods then runs off down the beach. I'm not sure about getting into the water looking around there's a lot of strangers here all swarming the infamous Avengers wanting to get pictures with them or of them.
The beach isn't packed but it defiantly isn't as dead as it should be if just the team was here, and I don't want a rerun of what happened earlier especially now that Tony talked me into a bikini after all. Though I picked it out and hid it from his view until I changed into it. When I put it on and it actually fit really well supporting me and being snug but not tight when I wasn't expecting it to fit at all with just how small it looked, I couldn't just put it back and pick out a different one. (It's the bikini in the pic above.)
But thinking about it now I should have picked a much less revealing bikini, but I knew Tony would appreciate the colors if you know what I mean. So I put it on in the changing room and put my clothes back on over it, only taking the price tags up to the cashier so I could pay for it and said I wouldn't let him see it until we got here because I was worried I would loose my nerve and pick out another one piece bathing suit after all. Plus I knew that if I let him see me in it that we would never make it to the beach and would more than likely be banned from the store. So he's been rushing to get here and to get me out of my dress shirt and knee high shorts since I checked out at the store. "Hurry Y/n I can't wait to get into the water!" Tony yells twenty or so feet away and winks at me suggestively, dropping our things onto the sand not bothering to actually set anything up.
"Don't lie Stark you only want to see her in her new bikini! You don't really care about getting in the water!" Natasha yells back at him from a ways down the beach playing volleyball with Wanda and few other people I don't recognize against the boys. Both of them wearing their own bikinis. 'That's probably how Steve got covered in sand.' "How did you know about that?" He yelled back pouting harder than he would willingly admit, because she's seen me in my new bikini but he hasn't been aloud to. Natasha stopped playing and said something to a couple of the people I didn't recognize that were on her team and walked up with Wanda right behind her.
"Oh don't get your panties in a twist Stark she sent me and Wanda a few photos wanting some feed back before deciding which swim suit to get." She grumped at him. "But trust me you'll like what she picked out." Wanda said with a knowing smirk. My face heats up when his gaze locks with mine. "Oh I never doubted that I wouldn't like it. Now come on let's get into the water that's the whole point of going to the beach." He said pulling on my hand. "Fine but I have to take these clothes off and I'm not comfortable just stripping on the beach and you have get changed to."
I say holding my towel close to me nervous about showing so much of myself in front of everyone, especially in front of strangers. Tony not needing me to tell him twice took off to the changing rooms with his swim trunks yelling for me join him. "No way or I won't get to swim today! I'll change and be out in a few." I say while walking towards an empty room. I strip out of my clothes and look at myself in the full length mirror they had in the changing room. Feeling insecure and like this was a very bad idea all of a sudden.
Seeing all of my rolls and stretch marks in plain sight is making me feel ugly and disgusted with my self. I'm about to say hell with it all and put my clothes back on and say I'm feeling sick and that I want to go home even though Tony will know its a lie and will be worried about me, I can't handle this, I'm not ready, this is to much. That's when Tony's voice comes through the door. "Almost done in their my beautiful girl? You aren't going to keep me waiting all day are you? I could just come in there and get you if you'd prefer?" He purrs out but sounds worried.
I hurriedly wrap my towel around myself and unlock the door but I don't make a move to come out. "I'm not sure I can do this Tony. This is a bad idea I wanna go home." I'm hugging myself again degrading and upsetting thoughts are rushing through my head making me so overwhelmed that I don't notice Tony's in the changing room with me until he wraps his arms around me from behind making me jump. "Where's all of this coming from? Is it because of what that lady said earlier because she's wrong, so so wrong baby girl your beautiful in everyway!" I cringe trying not to cry knowing what he's saying is true but I can't help but let what she said and what I've been thinking lately get to me anyways.
I whimper and turn around in his arms letting him hold me again. "I'm sorry I don't know what's going on I've been more and more insecure lately for no real reason. That's why I don't wear those clothes you bought me anymore, they fit but they show to much of everything I hate and I wanted to cover up by wearing my old baggy clothes." I pull back looking up at him. Tony's silent for a moment looking at me with a thoughtful expression. "Well we'll just have to fix that now won't we?" He smiles softly grabbing my hand and leaning towards the door.
"Tony no I really don't want to go out there not like this at least." I say pulling back and looking down. "Like what? Your all covered up by your towel. I cant even see that little swim suit you bought earlier that I've been dying to see since we left the store. I love every single part of your body but if you don't want to go out there we don't have to. We can go home or stay right here in this changing room. Hell I bet if I text Capsicle he'll bring us something eat and drink then we can stay in here all day." I giggled at that imagining a confused and flustered Steve coming to the changing room bringing food and water.
"There's my girl." Tony coo's running his hands up my sides trying to tickle me. "Hey hey, No, Tony, Dont you dare!" I squeaked out jumping back hitting the wall of the changing room realizing I'm trapped my eyes widen and I'm about to yell at him again when he launches at me tickling me and I don't feel my towel falling while trying to squirm away laughing until I feel Tony's bare hands on my hips and he stops tickling me. I look up worried about the sudden stop in his "attack" and his silence until I see the desire in his eyes.
"As much as I absolutely love this." He leans close to my ear his grip tightening on my hips. "I'd love even more to see it off and on the floor." He kissed my neck once he finished. Making me gasp as heat floods my cheeks. He mumbles into my neck. "How about I show you just how beautiful you really are." Pressing his body up against mine nipping the sweet spot on my neck.
Let's just say I never got to go swimming in my new swim suit and Steve got more than just an eyeful when he came to check on us because we forgot to lock the door.
Letters To You
Bucky x Reader
Tumblr media
Dearest Grandma,
I hope this card finds its way to you, I'm sorry I won't be able to come home this holiday, work has been keeping me busy. I did take the time to buy a tree like you insisted upon, even though I'll barely be home to see it. The city looks amazing, it's all decorated, I know you would love it.
This year is going to be the hardest I know, I miss you like crazy. Maybe that's why I keep myself busy so I can forget. I promise this spring I'll come out and see you, I love you and I always will.
Your little bird.
It was Dec 1st and the the third card Bucky had received and it was the first one he had opened. The address was his and he had moved in just shy of two months ago. He wasn't sure what had possessed him to open the red envelope this time. He usually sent them back with return to sender scrawled across the top but the woman sent them still to his address.
With heavy sigh he sat down at his desk and grabbed a blank sheet of paper.
Dear... to whom it may...
I just wanted to let you know that the person you keep mailing letters to no longer lives at this address. I've sent the others back and maybe they haven't reached you, maybe they got lost on their way. I wish you well.
James.
He sealed the letter in the envelope and sent it off in the mail and thought nothing of it. He went about his day, Steve had been trying to get him out and enjoy the winter season.
He couldn't, the cold brought back memories of Siberia and everything that went with it. The holidays reminded him that his family wasn't alive in this era, and even though he had friends he couldn't just shake his past like Steve could. Sam has attempted to reach out to him, trying to get him to join the va group but he didn't. He couldn't bring himself to go. Days went by and as they did his mood continued to become dampened, he started to spend more time inside. He kept himself busy, cleaning weapons or working out, reading history books, anything to keep his mind busy.
That was till two days later he got an envelope that was baby blue in color. This time his name written with his address and from the same address as the red envelope. He tossed it to the side and went about the rest of the day, it wasn't till late that night as he was laying on the couch did he remember the letter.
Dear James,
I'm sorry to have bothered you, no I never got the returned letters. To be honest I was wondering when they would start to return. The house you are living was occupied by my grandmother, she passed this fall and I didn't know what else to do to keep her alive with me. So I continued to write with intent on stopping when with letters came back, then I would know that the house had been sold.
This is the first year of me being by myself, and a part of me hoped that the house wouldn't sell till after the holidays so I could at least pretend that she was still here with me. I don't know why I'm dumping all of this on you, and I'm sorry for that. I wish you a good holiday and a bright new year, I wish you enough.
Y/n
Bucky reread the letter three times, his heart breaking for the stranger who took the time to write it. He reached over and grabbed the notebook he had kept for years, ripping a blank page from it before grabbing a pen from the coffee table. He paused for a moment, debating on whether he should respond or not. He took a deep breath and sat up a bit.
Y/n,
I'm sorry to hear of your grandmas passing, it's hard to loose family and the holiday time is the hardest... I know, I'm right there with you. Wish I could say it gets easier but you'll miss them every time. If you wish to continue to write to her through the season go ahead, I promise not to pry.
I hope you find peace, and have a good holiday season as well.
James
The next morning he sent the letter off and went for a run with Sam, who had been bugging him for the last couple of days. He knew he couldn't keep avoiding people, even if it was only for a couple a weeks.
And just like the last one it took only two days for her to respond. This time a green card came in addressed to the former occupant and a silver one addressed to him. Bucky found a small smile spreading across his face as he walked over and sat down on the couch, tossing the green one on the coffee table before opening the silver envelope.
James,
Thank you! You have no idea how much it means it me. I know that next year I will miss her just as much but this year is particularly hard. My grandma was everything to me, she was my mom, my best friend, someone I could always count on. She came down ill shortly after I moved, and then work started to load down on me and I kept putting off to go see her.
I wasn't there when she passed, nor was I there for her burial. A stranger went through her house and arranged the estate sale and the sale of my childhood home. I wish I could take it all back, even if for only a day. I hope that she doesn't hate me, I didn't want to put my job before her, but... it doesn't matter. I can't believe I'm writing all of this to you, a perfect stranger. Again I'm sorry for unloading on you.
Y/n
Bucky sighed heavily, seems she was just as lost and alone as he was. A stranger who just desperately needed someone there that she would continue to write her dead grandmother just to pretend to have someone. The guilt in the way she wrote, he could see that she had been crying when she wrote it, some of the letters smudged as the tears collided with the wet ink.
He grabbed his note book and ripped out another page.
Y/n,
Don't feel guilty, I'm sure she was proud of you. In fact I know she was, you are out there living your life. You are making it on your own and if there is something I know about parents is that is all they want.
Never feel bad for unloading me, I know what it feels like not to have someone that you are comfortable enough with to open up to. And you aren't the only one struggling this year. My family passed away along time ago and this time of year is always the hardest. It's been decades since I have seen them and it still hurts. What I would to just see my sister or hear my ma sing carols, if only for an hour. I was held captive, a POW, and I never got to be there for their lives or their passing.
To be honest, so far this holiday hasn't been easy for me either. I've all but holed myself up in this house since before thanksgiving. Sam keeps trying to get me to join the va group but.. I just can't. I don't think even they would understand.
Hope to hear from you soon.
James
He rushed to get it out the next morning, Bucky wasn't even sure why he felt the need to mail her again but he did. He went about the next two days, checking the mail with a little more enthusiasm then he did before. He knew it was foolish but still he hoped she would mail him again.
On the third day he received two envelopes one gold and one green. One addressed to her grandma and the other to him.
Bucky,
I don't know what it must of been like for you, and I'm not even going to pretend to. And even if they (the va group) don't understand what you went through, it might help to just get it off your chest. Just my opinion and I won't press you on it.
As for me, my company is having a "holiday" party and I'm trying to find excuses not to go. They all know I live alone and that I don't have have any friends out here so I can't use any of the usual excuses. Something about being a round a bunch of people that I really don't want to spend more time then I have to, in a setting filled with drinks and fake holiday decor just puts me ill at ease.
Anyway, my grandma wasn't hip with the times, and I'm hoping you are. (Your email address).
Y/n
Bucky jumped from his spot and rushed over to the computer Tony had given him and fired it up. Excitement coursed through him as he logged onto the email address that Peter had helped him make.
He typed in her email address.
From oldmanbarnes:
Hey-
Y/n,
I may not be hip but I do know how to use a computer.
James
He hit send and then panicked, he forgot that Sam had a hand in the email address. And before he had a chance to respond to it his computer dinged with a reply.
From you:
Re:Hey
Old man Barnes?? Lol! Love the email address. This is kinda cool, hope your having a good day, I'm trying to figure out what I'm wearing to this holiday party.
From oldmanbarnes:
Re:re: hey
Haha yeah, a friend of mine picked it out, he thinks he's funny. And if you don't want to go don't. You could always stay home and a watch a movie, this may sound awkward but we could watch the same movie and then you can tell them you are seeing a movie with a friend.
From you:
Re:re:re: hey
Sounds like a date! Can I wear my pjs? And we have to make hot cocoa!
Prologue
1
Ezekiel's feet pounded the gravel flooring of Paris, the night air thick as he chased down his latest prey, the slayer. He had kill meny in his time since his fall from heaven, this one would mean just as little as the rest. The slayer rounded the corner into a pretty french graveyard, away from the prying eyes of the mortal folk.  personally he couldn't care less if the mundanes saw what really lurked in the night, but she was a slayer and very good one, one who had evaded him and his clan for years, so yes it made sense that even now as her death was approaching she kept to slayer code.
The slayer stood rooted in her spot, watching as two more men appeared from the crevices of the graveyard. She knew in that moment that her death was near, but she wasn't scared to die. For a slayer her life had been long, most don't make passed the test. So yes while she was only 43 the slayer knew she had lived a long Life, one in which she was a hero to meny. Going out in Paris seemed beautiful to her, the tower in view it's light's glistening, as the Ark Angel and his followers surrounded her. The Slayer knew what he wanted, but she wouldn't give up a fellow sister, especially one as significant as she would become.  For centuries the council had told it's warriors of one who would have the power to end the raign of Ezekiel. That the Slayer would have the power of immortality, though it was an impossible task it was a task each was Given, to understand what the prophecy ment by immortality. And for centuries no one had figured this out, until now, until this moment now she the middle aged women stared her death in the eye's she understood the prophecy.
In her minds eyes she could see the next warrior, the girl was young much like she used to be. But she also happened to be completely untrained, though to the slayer perhaps this was a good thing. The girl would be surprise to Ezekiel and his band of merry men, he wouldn't be expecting the next warrior to be small and untrained knowing nothing of the supernatural world. But the Slayer knew this girl would be well protected, with friends like she had. With the Watcher who would soon be chosen to prepare her for the battles ahead, one who would love the her like a father loves his daughter. Surely the council would frown upon such a thing, but it was something out if their control. And she had him.
He was a surprise to the women at first, but now visions had become clear, In Death that often happens, now she could see the Slayer clearly and she knew the girl needed him. There had been a Reason her first date six months ago had been such a chaotic disaster, it was the same reason all the other dates had ended the same way. It was clear now, she was destined to be with him, it was as though they're Union was written in the star's. she was Reason why he had left his master's side over a thousand years ago. She was Reason why he only killed when he needed to, the universe was trying to tell him something. It had become clearer to women now as her death approached, the shadows in her vision's had been him. He was forever watching her, making sure she was Safe. He had loved her since the beginning of his immortal life. Now the current slayer for however long she had left knew this would be hard for the pair of fated lovers, it was forbidden but she knew somehow in the end it would work out. She knew the slayer would be safe and protected by all around her that cared for her. And she knew that the girl would protect them too.
Ezekiel finally came into view, the Slayer shut of her minds eye, her concentration now of the Ark Angel and his followers coming forwards  from the Shadows. The women was now surrounded but she had no fear of death, it was a natural part of life.
The women dropped her stakes, using her now free hands to push back she knoted blonde locks from her face.
"Arh, i see the women has come to her senses, tell my slayer what do you know of the prophecy" the man's voice was thick with gravel, his yellow eyes hooded as  they remained trained on the Slayer.
"I'll never tell you" spat the women, in a flash Mathias had pinned one arm across the blondes chest, while his free hand tangled itself into her hair, pulling back her head. The warm flesh of her neck exposed.
"You are brave, for a dead women,  aren't you ?" The ark angel closer now, so close he could hear the blood pumping in her veins. She wasn't stupid, she knew he was trying to intimidate her but it wouldn't work she wouldn't give the young girl up.
"Nothing I'll tell you nothing" Ezekiel growled like a primitive animal, before taking a few strides backwards.
"Go ahead boys, but remember to share." Within a blink of a eye, the slayer felt two pairs sharp teeth sink into either side of her neck. Both vampire's lapping up the blood as sweet as nectar. The older man forced his children to stop when he saw the women wanting to speak.
"STOP, she wants to speak." Both vampire reluctantly realised the women allowing her sputter out her last words.
"You'll never beat him, you Ezekiel of Lazarus will never beat him, you are not strong enough."
"Who, is this you speak of, girl answer me" the man's face was a mixture of confusion and desperation, to know who the Slayer spoke of.
"Someone you thought was long dead, you're Greatest creation," with those words the women was dead.
Ezekiel was confused, In his long raign on this earth he had turned meny and meny of them he considered his greatest creation. But through the ages they had all died, well those except Mathias and jedediah. On some level he knew that the pair were living because of him, they were faithful to him, to cause and of course he knew why. He had found jedediah two thousand years ago dying, the blood had been two hard to resist and soon enough he was drained of the sticky red liquid. At the time his first turn had convinced Ezekiel to bring the man back and of course he did. Matthias was different he was young compared to jedediah at only just a thousand. He and come looking for Ezekiel, evidently he found the the ark Angel in question, at the time he happened to be grieving the loss of his child. So he turned the young Man, his pathetic attempt to recreate his masterpiece.
"Father_father are you okay"
"No I think I have discovered something imperative, you're brother Jedediah may still in world after all". Ezekiel stated, the younger man froze taking a step backwards.
"Father it can not be, you would've felt his presence long ago, if he was still with the world you could feel him" Mathias spoke up licking the rest of the slayers blood from the corner of his lips. He had never met his master first creation but he had heard the story's, if they were true he was something beautiful but fearsome to be-hold.
"Perhaps, the distance of time has severed our connection, my son would've come home to me if I'd called, if he knew I was still living." Ezekiel frowned as a old wound had been opened.
"Father, maybe he did know and he simply didn't want to return to your side, that if what the girl said isn't true, father she could've lied" Jedediah said remembering those last few months before his blood brother disappeared, before the human had come with proof of his death. It had been trying times, his brother grew bored of being locked up like a child, he grew tired of the constant killing. The blood that followed them, how cruel they're father had become. How his eyes longed for more than blood and satisfaction the kill gave him. Jedediah knew his brother was capable of more, maybe evenlove if he found the right person. So he thought maybe his brother had planned that night, to escape and then disappear from the face of world.
"No my son would return to me, I know it" all eyes were on the Ark Angel as he spoke.
"Let's leave we have a Slayer to find"
It was late afternoon when Stevie Hoffman started on her way home, cheer practice had gone longer then expected, giving her less time to get ready for tonights party. Tonight her family and friends would be celebrating sixteen wonderful years with Stevie in the world. We'll all except her father, he would be seeing her on the weekend, since Mary and Philip got divorced the redhead saw her father less and less. Though she supposed it was natural he lived in California now and she still live in Willow falls, a small town just outside of Pennsylvania. But that didn't mean that Stevie didn't want him here for her sixteenth, but both her parents had assured their daughter it was for the best so Stevie dropped it.
The redhead decided to take a short cut through the cemetery, maybe she'd stop and see her grandparents graves before heading home. This was nothing out of ordinary Stevie often came by to see her grandparents, sometimes it help to talk to to them, if the day had been especially bad. And today had been, the boy who asked out had suddenly changed his mind and copped off with a blonde a year or so older than her.
This always happened to her, the redhead felt like she was destined to be lonely forever. Stevie continued down the gravel path to her family crypt, but from behind her the girl Heard a branch snapped under someone's feet. Now sure this could've been nothing but the redhead could've sworn she was alone. Turning Stevie saw nothing, so she shook it off and headed further down the track.
The girl however didn't get far because before long had been shoved to floor, with a man in his late twenties maybe early thirty's on top of her. The man's face was filled with rage, his eyes wide with hunger. He craned mouth down to the girls neck, but as his large fangs grazed Stevie's neck she brought her knee up to his groin, connecting it hard. The man tumbled a little to the side in pain, the girl shoved him the rest of way scrambling to her feet she ran.
The redhead ran as fast as converse clad feet would carry her, but she couldn't beat the man's speed. He up and like a flash had caught up to the girl. Stevie once again found her on floor, the man dragging her by the ankles. The gravel of the paving cutting her knees and hands. The girl some manage to break one leg free, kicking the man in the ankle he fell to the ground.
Stevie turned to leave but once again the man was her In a flash, the red was flat on her back. Fearing the worst, that he was going rape her. She turned her head, green eyes landing on a sharp wooden branch and in a instant the girl knew what to do. It was like every molecule woke up and told her what to do, seconds later Stevie plunged the wooden stick into the man's chest. Soon enough he was reduced to ash, his body had disappeared, as though he was never there.
From the corner stood a man holding a note pad and what looked to be a recording device. He looked impressed, but Stevie Hoffman stood tears welling up in her eyes and the realization of what she had just done. She and killed a man.
"Oh god I killed him, he's dead" the man frowned  and made his way over to his slayer.
"Miss Hoffman you need to calm down" he tried to Reason with the girl.
"No I killed someone, I just killed someone, he's dead what if he had a family" Stevie Hoffman's body trembled, where she now stood the stake still in her hands.
"Miss Hoffman, I need you calm down and listen to me. What you just killed wasn't human, he was a vampire and he was already dead" the man with note pad spoke getting closer to frightened redhead.
"Vampires aren't real,"
"Yes miss Hoffman they are and it's you're duty to protect the world against the creatures, you are the slayer" Stevie Hoffman let out a hystercial giggle before collapsing to the floor. The Watcher huffing as it suddenly became clear to him just how much help this girl was going to need.
Sighing professor Lionel Coleman collected his slayers belongings, and drove the unconscious girl home. He had spun some story of how he saw the girl being asulted by the cemetery, but had managed to to stop the assailant before anything to bad had happened. Stevie's mother had been greatfull that her daughter was brought home safely and thanked the man kindly.
It was safe to say her sixteenth birthday hadn't turned out the way she expected and it turned out her life wouldn't be the same again. So much was coming and her Watcher just hoped she'd be ready when it did.
It was a tough two months at [Y/N]'s new home as everything was, well, new. They were completely alone in this new, clean, neighborhood for the first time.
For a while, they didn't know what to do as they were used to hot dinners and nagging, but now, they've been stuck with frozen dinners and the sound of loneliness blasted across the house. Wanting to scratch that itch of going home diminished after meeting their next-door neighbor, Tom Holland.
During a cozy, summer morning while [Y/N] was setting their garden, he was the first person to introduce himself to them. The simple interraction made them feel welcomed and known in this unexplored territory. Now and then, if [Y/N] was outside at the same time as him, Tom would simply make small-talk with [Y/N] before being swallowed by his home.
However, something was tugging in [Y/N]'s mind about him. From generic observations, they have never seen anyone going in nor out of that house besides Tom. Most of his windows were crystal clear and displayed furniture in the room, but [Y/N] hasn't caught sight of that brown-haired male. [Y/N] assumed it was because he's busy, but the amount of time [Y/N] spent at home looking through his windows proved otherwise.
He seemed to be invisible for most of the day as [Y/N] seen no sight of him until those rare moments where he leaves his house and starts up his fancy car [Y/N] doesn't know the brand of. They've never seen Tom return, but he's leaving the house again in a few days. All his groceries were delivered to the back of his house and were always gone by morning. A gardener came once a week as well as someone from the cleaning department.
Once, on a warm, summer evening, with the darkening sky speckled with faint white, [Y/N] was slurping a smoothie as they gazed at the blaring television. The AC was blasting, and [Y/N] was snugged into a reclining chair. A commercial for the next big oven invention was dancing off the white walls, and the smooth hum of the microwave warming their T.V. dinner was the added touch.
Once the microwave chimed, a black van slowed right in front of Tom's house. While rising to grab her T.V. dinner, [Y/N] spectated the van through the kitchen window and observed two men dragging along another person towards the front door with another man dressed in a suit following behind. [Y/N] didn't catch a glimpse of the person, but [Y/N] immediately snatched their chicken nugget dinner and sat back down to watch it unfold. This could reveal more about him.
Bashes at the door alerted Tom, so, he swung the door open and, immediately, confusion jumped onto his face as he glanced between the well-dressed men.
"Why the hell are you here?" Tom demanded as he ushered the men inside in case any prying eyes were watching.
Once [Y/N] shut the television off, they maintain focus on the show unfolding before them as they finally see Tom Holland interact with human life. Unfortunately, they couldn't hear a thing, so they resorted in making up their own dialogue in their head, totally oblivious of the truth.
"We're sorry, mate," started one of the men, "but this little pipsqueak," he gestured to the cowering man, "was so fucking adamant about seeing you about his debt."
"You weren't picking up your goddamn phone, Tom," the other man added quickly with a sprinkle of irritation in his voice. Tom's jaw tensed and shoved his hands into his fluffed hair.
"Well, maybe, Sam, I fucking was purposefully ignoring to get a good night's sleep."
"It's, like, eight o'clock! Why are you fucking sleeping when you could be out having fun with the ladies?"
"Well, maybe, Harry, I'm tired," with a faint growl, Tom rubbed his face roughly, "how many times have I told you to not fucking appear at my fucking house when it's about work?! For all I know, someone could fucking be watching right now!" The twins rolled their eyes simultaneously, and Harry shoved the frighten man towards Tom.
"Just deal with him quickly, then," Harry spat. Tom ran his tongue against his bottom teeth, tightening his jaw. With arms wrapped around himself, he sighed of defeat and faced Harrison.
"I assume you have his file, Haz?" Harrison grinned as he whipped out the manila folder.
"Of course! Did you think I'd come empty-handed?" Tom seized the thin folder and opened it to glance at its contents. Once his eyes laid upon the man's history, Tom tutted and leisurely ambled towards the man who instantly found the pattern in the carpet more interesting.
"Oh, Chase Walker, what am I gonna do?" Tom slapped the folder shut and clutched Chase's chin to snap his head upwards.
"You are here because you wanted to see me, but as I clearly see in the database that you were supposed to return that 250 grand you borrowed from me," he released Chases's chin with a thrust and handed the folder back to Harrison, "the task was simple: get me that 250 grand by today." Chase's eyes wavered as he glanced at Tom and clasped his hands together after dropping onto his knees.
"Pl-Please, I beg you. I-I've only got a hun-hundred grand. I need more time! The re-recent tests on my wife are co-costly! Our insurance—"
"I don't care about your fucking problem!" As if on cue, Harrison handed him a piece of paper with scribbles at the bottom. Tom shoved the paper towards Chase's face.
"Do you not remember this? This was the damn contract you signed, indicating when you'll return the money." Chase shattered as his hot cheeks felt wet while feeling like he was being suffocated in a plastic bag, choking on his words.
"B-but I—"
"No 'but's," Tom tossed the contract to the side and eyed the twins, "take him upstairs to my office." The twins complied and hauled Chase up the carpeted steps.
"Where are they going?!" Exclaimed [Y/N] as they noticed they moved to somewhere else. Hurling their dish onto the table, they shot up and waited to see where they'll be by the windows. They caught sight of the five walking along the second floor through the wide window and then disappeared. For quite sometime, [Y/N] didn't notice them until they saw a barely noticeable Tom far from the window. Where Tom was, [Y/N]'s equivalent was standing in front of their bedroom window. Assessing the situation, their eyes widened and their hand rapidly covered their mouth that flung open at what was in Tom's hands.
"N-no! Wh-what are you doing?! Don't shoot me, I beg you," Chase crawled along the floor and gripped Tom's legs, wailing and pleading to let him live, "please! I'll do anything!" But Tom simply ignored him. He let Chase beg; he let Chase scratch his legs; he let Chase suffer knowing he's going to die.
"Harrison, throw me that silencer over there." Harrison tossed a slick, black, cylindrical silencer to Tom, and Tom caught it right before screwing it onto the front of his pistol. With Chase's cries slowing down, knowing it's not going to do anything, Tom kicked him off and aimed right between Chase's eyes. Once Chases's eyes started to water again, Tom pulled back the safety and pulled the trigger.
With a heavy sigh, he turned around and instantly noticed a figure right across at the neighboring house. His face hardened as [Y/N] realized he saw them. With fear bubbling inside them, they ran as far as they could to reach their phone downstairs. Tom swiveled to the men in the room, and pointed to the window.
"We've been spotted. Catch the person nextdoor, and bring them here!" Ordered Tom as the men sprinted out the door with no delay.
[Y/N] snatched their phone and dialled the police while running out the back door, hoping to get to their vehicle quickly.
"What's your emerg—" [Y/N]'s phone cracked against the ground as another tackled them. Harrison stomped onto [Y/N]'s phone as Sam forced them up while keeping a firm arm around their mouth to prevent loud noise.
[Y/N] whirled around in Sam's arms as Sam kept his stance and hauled [Y/N] towards Tom's house as quickly as possible. Inaudible sounds escaped [Y/N]'s mouth as their arms continuously pulled Sam's arm away from their mouth. Clearly, Sam was stronger than [Y/N], but they didn't give up anyway because anything was better than nothing.
[Y/N] was thrown onto the carpeted floor in the blood-splattered room and caught sight of the dead man lying against the chair. [Y/N] felt their stomach turn inside out and gagged at the image. They turned their head around to avoid it.
"Well, [Y/N]. How much did you see?" Tom's sickly soft voice penetrated [Y/N]'s brain that gave warnings that this guy just murdered a man in his own house. They looked up but refused to make eye contact with the murderer.
"Everything," [Y/N] announced with venom soaked in it. Tom threw his head back as a throaty laugh echoed in the soiled room.
"Pity. You've started to grow on me," informed Tom in a faux sweet tone. He took a few steps back and pointed the gun at their head.
"Sweet dreams."
And he pulled the trigger.
Hope you enjoy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Monsters were everywhere, literally everywhere. Dustin, Lucas, Mike, Eleven, and Steve were surrounded, fear settling within each of them.
Eleven was shaking in fear, her telekinesis not working. So she screamed, she cried out for help.
Suddenly, a black wolf lept from the darkness. Its eyes were bright blue and piecing, much to bright to be a normal wolf. Monster after monster it plowed through to get to the children, steppung on the monsters head and legs to save someone.
Everybodys eyes widened in shock at this supposed killing machine, and they all looked frightend, raising any weapon they had. The only person who wasn't scared was Eleven, as the rest stared wide eyed at the bear sized wolf leaping towards them. Eleven just smiled, making them lower their weapons.
The Wolf bowed infront of them, and Eleven tugged on steve's sleave ( she was nearest him) He turned to her.
" On" she whispered to him. His eyes widened.
" On? On? Are you kidding me!?" He whispered harshly. Eleven shook her head. He sighed and cautiously walked to were the wolf stood. The wolf watched him, bowing her head so Steve could climb on. He did, sitting stiffly at the front.
Next came Dustin, then Eleven, then Mike then Lucas.
A loud shriek was heard, and Eleven turned around, only to see all the monsters getting to their feat and making their way towards them. The wolf growled, bearing her teeth, before springing expertly from the rock and taking off. The wolf stepped lightly, swerving between trees, jumping over fallen logs. Steve looked behind him only to see the Monsters still chasing them.
" Hey girl can you go any faster?" He whispered close to her ear.
The wolfs head turned to the side, one eye looking at him before winking.
The wolf flashed blue, and a light was surrounding it. The gang uncovered their eyes to see that she was an eagle. A great huge golden eagle. She cawed twice before taking off into the night sky.
For five minutes they flew, though it felt longer. Steve was cheering, eleven was laughing, the three boys screaming as sge swooped and dived and spun.
She landed safley on the ground, bowing to let the others go down safley. When they were all off she stepped backwards, and a blue light engulfed her.
Then the Eagle became a girl. She was innocent looking and was medium hight, the top of her head reaching Steve's neck, just under his chin. Her doe eyes were wide, luscious lips smiling.
" Thirteen! " cried Eleven running into thirteens open arms.
" Hello Eleven" Thirteen said. She turned to the gang, and sighed. " Eleven knows me as thirteen, but I prefer my real name which is Evan, short for Evangeline. I come from the same place Eleven does. Where are we going now? It's very late, and I dont think anyone should be alone tonight."
The exuses were the same. Everyone had told their parents that they were staying at somebody elses house. Evan sighed.
" Well, I do have a house nearby. Its a one bedroom, though I have four sofas you can sleep on " she said. " It'll be a mess though because I've been a Wolf for over a year in the woods so haven't been able to keep it up."
The group agreed and they walked to her house.
When they got to her house, Evan carefully placed Eleven on the nearest sofa, having carried her a lot of the way home. Mike wanted to stay with her, and Dustin and Lucas wanted to stay with Mike. Evan brought out the blankets and draped them over the sleeping children.
Evan turned to Steve. " We'll have to share the bed, its a king sized double so I dont mind. You go on up, I'll stay in the Garden for a bit."
Steve shook his head. " I'm not tired. I'll join you"
Evan smiled. " It's odd. Being human agian. When I was a wolf, my memories were suppressed. And now everything is coming back"
Steve sank down on the doorstep next to her. " What kind of memories Evangeline ? " he asked hestinatly not wanting to pry but curious all the same.
" I remember the cage that they put me in, wanting me to shift for them. I remember the surgeries I had to make me this way. I remember Eleven. I remember running away. "
Steve nodded. "Well it will be nice to go to school if you're there. It would make life more interesting."
Evan laughed. " The creators put a chip in my brain. It basically teaches me everything. Like a computer. I dont need school. It also makes my movements more coordinated, and increase my stamina. Very usefull when I'm running away from things."
Steve snorted, running his hands through his hair. " You should join the basket ball team, this new bully's really good at it, but uses it as an excuse to be a dickhead. It's too bad about the school decision there'd be tons of things that you would enjoy, Evangeline. Sorry, - Evan."
Evan shook her head. " Don't be sorry. I like it when you call me that. The school part? I'll think about it. It would be a pasttime anyway. Also it would be a chance to get back to a normal life. "
Evan felt her eyelids droop, her head resting against Steve's shoulder. He looked down and laughed softly.
" Goodnight Evangeline " he said smiling down at her.
--------
" Shhhh they look so cute! "
" Shut up you'll wake them! "
" Ewww they're cuddling! "
" Great, now you've woken them."
Evan opened her eyes and turned her head to see four children peering down at her and Steve. Their legs were intangled, and he was holding her close her back agianst his chest.
Evan smiled. Maybe life wouldn't be so bad after all.
_______________________
It had been a week. Today was going to be Evans' first day of school.
Since she wouldn't be able to open the bank account that her parents had left her for another week whilst the details were discussed, Steve had given her money to go clothes shopping. He had gone with her to make sure she didn't pick an outrageous outfit. As it went, he thought that she would be popular with the clothes she picked out.
She was wearing one of her favourite outfits, that she bought. On her feet were black healed boots that went to her ankles. She was wearing high-waisted blue jeans with black belt. A loose black crop top hung off her. It had a little picture of a pepperoni pizza on the right breast pocket with white writing underneath saying " I requested pizza not you." ( Steve had laughed when she picked it up saying that it suited her well). She had a sports bra and leggins and black trainers as she had discoverd she had a talent for Basketball. Blue - Green mirrored sunglasses framed her face.
She had decided to go for a natural makeup look. Foundation coverd her freckles that dotted her nose, mascara and eyeliner made her eyes seem darker and wider. Her lips were painted a luscious pink, standing out agianst the whitness of her teeth. Her long dark hair was drawn up in a high ponytail, with a few strands framing her face. Evan smiled. Time to start the day.
As promised, Steve picked her up, and she curled up in the front seat, her heart pounding. Steve turned to her.
" Ok. Billy Hargrove. I need you to beat him at basketball for me and then I'll do whatever you want " He said sincerely. " You'll also be the most popular, your sense of style will give you good looks, your attitude will make you intimidating and nobody will mess with you. Remember, Spice before Nice"
Evan nodded, before stepping out the car. Although her and Steve weren't dating, they were really close, so she linked her arm with his, held her head up high, and marched towards the school.
It was now PE and unlike most, Evan was looking forward to it. At lunch she had gotten changed into her PE kit with a leather jacket.
So when the coach said Steve's team needed another player, Steve could volunteer Evan.
" A girl? Playing basketball with all boys? Well, knock 'em dead"
Evan smiled before taking off her jacket. She backflipped off the bleaches ( almost giving the coach a heart attack, jumping four levels at once) landing infront of Billy.
The coach blew the whistle.
Billy had managed to get the ball off Steve, and Evan ran up to the hoop, catching the ball at an impossible hight when Billy tried to throw it in. She then dribbled the ball past her opposing side, swerving expertly around the bodies, before scoring a point.
Two points.
Three points.
Half an hour later, after many interceptions coutsey of Evan, her team was winning by 10 points.
At the end her team surrounded her, cheering her name. Even Billy clapped slowly, though he didn't smile like everyone else. Evan laughed before walking over to where Steve was running at her.
He picked her up and spun her around, his hands on her waist, her hands on his shoulders.
And then he kissed her. Her eyes widend in shock before melting into the kiss, her long legs wrapped around his waist. The gymnasium cheered, but everything faded into the kiss.
It was time to go home, and Steve and Evan wwaljed out the school, hand in hand. The walked, laughing about anything in the world. Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Eleven watched them, the boys mouths were agape.
" Stevan? When did that happen"
" They look so happy,"
And they were.
Just for today, everything was perfect. They were together, as it would stay. Steve Harrington and Evangeline Hopper. The powercouple of the school.
The happiest couple.
entry two hundred fourty six
monday, febeuary 28, 2022, 12:00 am
i couldn't sleep for no reason. basically i saw that i still wasn't on the schedule and gently told the schedule girl that became i wasn't on the schedule i wouldn't show up, and i smoked a bowl. after i got out of the shower, they fired me.
they said that i was being rude to the scheduler and that i should have showed up. she said she found our text conversation sketchy, and my "situation" sketchy. situation being my grandpa dying and my house burning down. and i know word is spreading. i tried to keep it professional and smooth with the scheduler asking if she was upset with me, but she didnt answer. i wanted our relationship to grow outside of work because i already had a connection to her. but now i say she goes and kicks rocks. who the fuck fires a homeless girl for being "sketchy". does "sketchy" encompass how strange i was behaving? im sorry i couldn't truck on when i was actively getting traumatized. and i hope that everyone who had a hand in this debacle has a hard time sleeping, or that they can't bring up my "situation" in casual talk the way they do for others. i hope it's too much of a bummer to talk about. i actually liked this job. now i say they can go fuck themselves.
i should have listened when customers said that it seemed like there was a new person in pools every day. i shouldn't have called back and saved my pride when i noticed my when2work wasn't working. i should have listened when my friend said they fire people like crazy. but i don't blame myself for having hope. i am starting to think satisfaction with your job is a myth in capitalist america. there's always a catch.
and there's always more. like my dad getting kicked out and trying to guilt me into leaving to go to my grandmas house. sorry, but no. all i have now is my friends and wifi, and you'll have to pry them out of my cold dead hands. i hung out with a friend. i got high so i couldnt feel. but it always comes back. the drip never stops. like her new bf that she cheated on her husband with being fucking terrifying and controlling. like him definitely being dangerous. i can tell and i dont like him. some of the money he gave her fell out of her purse and i palmed it and felt bad the whole time. when she texted asking later, i couldn't do it. i did not admit to it but cashapped her the money she was missing. i dont have the balls to steal anymore.
and so everything sucks. i go to my best friends house tomorrow, probably. i simply pray we get everything works out. it's not like things can get worse, right? im homeless ans jobless and parentless and grandpaless and im going to be a bitch. i don't know who jesus thinks i am, but i am not the person he gets to use for practice. and i will not be gossip fodder for my old coworkers. i am a deeply deeply unstable person who needs psychological help. and i am not your strongest soldier, i have two modes right now and thats party till i cant feel and suicidal depressive. both suck. don't test me, i will kick the chair underneath me.
at least i had euphoria. i loved it. when rue said that she thought that she was in a movie when her dad died because she didn't want it to be real, i got her. i journal halfway for that. to be someone people cares about. to be a character. i pray one day i'll finally be miserable and desperate enough that i'll finally die by my own hand, and people will look back and see me as a slyvia plath. maybe they'll hate the people who let me down, who wronged me.
but it's real. and it hurts. and i can't be happy. the crazy thing is i knew if i wasn't getting fired, i was quitting. i need to focus on myself, my mental health. whatever that may entail. if things get worse, i fear i may actually self destruct completely.
and i can't say things can't get worse when they can. my parents could die. i could die in a bad way. i could get admitted into a hospital and rack up debt. but all i know is i did a tarot reading and it has me cautiously optimistic.
i'm tired. and there's still things to do. good night.
