Yandere. M. Fairy x fairy. Reader
Tumblr media
Imagine being a fairy living in the forest together with all the other fairies. Life is very peaceful and filled with joy. All you do every day is fly around while talking to your friends, and collect things that interest you. (This is referring to the traditional, small, insect-wingers type of fairy. Like tinker bell.)
Yandere fairy! Who is very playful. Every time you run(fly) into him, the only thing he does is ask if you want to do something; he has a great variety of ideas- he’s sure you’ll like at least one of them!
Yandere fairy! Who is often searching for the perfect flowers to gift you whenever he isn’t swarming around you. He wants only the prettiest, most colorful and freshest bloom to give to you. If there is even the slightest defect on it, whether it be the petals or the leaves or the stalk, he immediately flies off to find another.
What he doesn’t know is that you happen to pass by him quite a number of times when he’s out flower-picking. He’s always so concentrated that he never notices you. You had to admit that seeing a such a tiny being attempt to rip a large plant by its roots is a rather funny sight.
Yandere fairy! Who asks you if you’d be up to play tag in the forest. Not just with him of course, others will also be there ahem..
It’s just something so wonderful about it, he thinks. Being able to fly freely like you’re meant to do while also enjoying lighthearted banter wigg the the one you care for the most. It has his heart beating out of his chest.
Yandere fairy! Who’s ‘secret’ crush isn’t very much a secret at all. Everybody knows about his feeling for you. He’s so obvious about it. He isn’t nearly as discreet as he’d like to believe he is. But no one laughs or ridicule him for it, instead they tease him and encourage him to try his best.
Yandere fairy! Who’s wings always flutter in excitement whenever he’s in your presence. He can’t help it, you make him so happy and his wings reflect that.
Yandere fairy! Who tries to impress you and show his bravery by riding the giant and positively angry beetle living close to the village. It wasn’t evil but it had caused some trouble for the community. However, it did live there too so there was nothing you could do about it except trying to make friends with it. Happy neighbour happy life!
Yandere fairy! Who’s playful side can be a bit more extreme in your opinion. Like most fairy’s, he enjoyed playing a trick or two on the humans that lost they way in the forest. Despite their cries of fear and confusion, he laughed and mocked their expressions.
You didn’t like to call your friend cruel, but he definitely had moments when he was.
Yandere fairy! Who promised he wouldn’t trick those poor humans anymore if that’s what you wanted. If it made you dislike him he’d stop immediately. He couldn’t bare it if you started hating him.
Yandere fairy! Who desires to be with you forever. He needs to be your one and only. Luckily, you two are immortal!

Yandere Fairy: Xenon
So, this is totally separate from the halloween story for fairy. I enjoyed doing this one even if it seems a bit odd at points. There is something of a warning for this one. The yandere was involved with reader’s mother before she died, and sees them in the same light. They aren’t related or anything, but I figured I’d mention this just in case it grosses anyone out.
Character Sheet
In European folklore, it’s a legendary creature or mythical being, that is often described as metaphysical, supernatural, or preternatural. Basically every culture has their own version, but the similarities are usually magic and some sort of extended lifespan. The seelie and unseelie courts are found specifically in the Scottish mythos and the Dullahan specifically in Irish mythology for example. The fairies were often fickle as well, with their own sets of personal rules.
Personal head canon in the story about fairies, not sure if it’s a thing, so I’m calling it a head cannon: The bigger a fairy is, the more power they have. So, if they’re closer to an average adult’s size, they have a lot more power than one the size of your hand.
Fairy’s name is Xenon.
Life had always had its ups and many downs for you. Being cursed with exceedingly bad luck didn’t exactly tip the scales in your favor after all. Whether it be forgetting the task you had to do, tripping multiple times a day, getting lost in the forest, slammed into by runaway livestock, or any other number of things that could go wrong, you had to put up with it. Of course, over the near constant times you tripped and fell and got lost and generally made a fool out of yourself in the forest, many of the magical creatures living there had come out and started interacting with you.
Of course, the idea that your curse could somehow spread, like it was contagious, is part of what prompted you to stay in the forest. Only so many dirty looks someone could take from neighbors and townspeople.
In fact, you considered many of the beings in the forest to be closer friends than anyone you knew in town. They cheered you up after an awful break up, they helped you find your way out of the forest after you fell down a small cliff and broke a leg, and even helped you with gathering herbs, spices, and vegetables during your treks into the woods for the semi-easily found supplies.
You suspected they had started out wanting to keep you from harm to weaken your guard, and assumed you were a bit daft and would eventually fall for their trick. It was somewhat hurtful, but over time they proved you wrong, showing they did care for you, even if it was in their own unique way. There were plenty of nymphs of course, water and nature spirits alike, several satyrs, there was the grumpy old dragon in one of the caves with multicolored crystals embedded in the walls, floors, and ceilings, and even the occasional will o’ the wisp. Fairies were occasional, they liked messing around in and with your hair and loved the way you would react to the problems that had plagued you so often. However, they were also the ones guiding you, sometimes frantically out of the forest.
You assumed there was something in there they knew of that didn’t like you or maybe just humans in general. That was fine, as long as it didn’t try to attack you. Of course, with your luck, it seemed all but inevitable that everything would hurt you at some point.
~~~~~
Laughter resonated through the trees, as the multicolored leaves crunched underfoot as the forms of human and fae leapt by. You had been collecting wild vegetables and herbs for your father before Selena had appeared before you. You remained as resolute as you could but eventually her hovering form and teasing comments cajoled you into joining her for a trek that devolved into a race.
“Oh come now,” Selena called teasingly over her shoulder, “Isn’t this just a pleasant stroll? How are you falling so far behind?”
You grumbled, but smirked and leapt lithely to reach the front. “I don’t know, why are you falling behind? I mean this pace is slow enough for me to catch up, so why can’t you?”
You laughed as Selena gasped in mock affront, but looking over your shoulder to talk to her was of course a bad idea as your gaze went from her face, to the trees towering above, to the ground, and back to her face again as your foot caught on a tree root and you tumbled end over end until you came to a rest face down on the forest floor.
Selena hurried over, her footsteps light as she called out to you, turning you over with a strength that was belied by her small build. She only reached your waist, but she was the tallest fairy you had come across during your time exploring the forest, so you knew she was stronger than she appeared to be to humans. It also helped that she had taken a liking to you after hearing of your plight, helping you out whenever possible, but it was disappointing and terrifying when she had proclaimed the curse came from a being much stronger than her.
You groaned softly as she suddenly jostled you, bringing startling attention to the throbbing of your nose. Trying to move it brought a dull pain and sniffing was painful but not overly so, bringing you to the conclusion that it was just heavily bruised, not broken. An odd twist of luck for you, as there wasn’t even a twisted ankle from catching on that tree root. A sudden tightening on your shoulders brought your attention back to Selena, who was staring intently into the forest with an odd look on her face, one you had never seen on her before. Fear.
You furrowed your brows, about to ask her about it, but this brought your attention to a rapidly developing headache and you groaned, bringing her attention mostly back onto you. She continued to be wary as she helped you up.
“Are you all right? You should probably head home to get that checked, don’t worry about your bag, I can bring it to you later, just please head home.”
You grunted, barely able to get a word in edgewise as she hurriedly guided you in the right direction before heading off at a rapid pace in nearly the exact opposite direction. You shrugged, assuming something was up, but doubting there was much you could do so you started the trek back home.
~~~~~
Meanwhile, Selena came to a stop, clutching the bag she had made a brief detour for, just shy of entering a sun drenched glen, hesitating just at the cusp of leaving the shadows provided by the trees.
“So, how have things been? I’m sure there’s a reason behind the human and the lack of acknowledgement from her?”
Selena shrieked and fell into the glen before meeting the bright green eyes of the fairy towering over her at nearly three times her size. A pleasant smile was firmly affixed on his face, but the curiosity and anger were readily apparent in the bright eyes pinning her to the spot.
“Ah, Xenon. Please forgive the human, she was never told of your presence.”
A warning pulse of his magic encircled her, causing her to flinch and freeze as his eyes narrowed and grew brighter.
“And what reason could you possibly have for that? You all rely on me to keep the woods safe and a refusal to allow that acknowledgment to spread to the humans is starting to get on my nerves!” Xenon’s voice grew louder and his eyes brighter before he was visibly holding back from harming the cowering fairy before him as he finally asked once more through gritted teeth, “What. Possible. Reason?”
Selena slowly stopped shaking as it became apparent he wasn’t going to hurt her, and gave him the answer.
“Well, we all remember what happened last time. And you still seem to be affected by it. And I personally felt the human may remind you of her.”
She drew breath to continue, but his hand raised and so silence remained. Conflicting emotions ran through him, grief present heavily, before being closely followed by anger and hatred, before falling into a weary sort of sorrow. Xenon sighed heavily his eyes having dimmed slightly, before his gaze snapped back to Selena and his eyes narrowed and resumed their glow.
“One moment. Tell me, what could possibly make you think she would remind me of that wretch?”
He leaned closer and the proximity made a cold sweat break out on the back of her neck. “She seems to have a similar curse! I’m sorry but I should go now, have to return this bag after all!”
She attempted to fly away, to get away from the pressure of the bright gaze, but was stopped abruptly by a tug on her leg. A shriek escaped her lips as she hung upside down, the fabric of her pants being rubbed against her leg unpleasantly where Xenon held her up effortlessly with a single hand, the other having snatched the bag by its strap and dangled it close by so he could study it further, reading the name carefully stitched into the flap. He let out a hum, barely acknowledging the desperation in Selena’s struggles to get away before a smirk broke out on his face and he grinned down at her wolfishly.
“Well, this (Y/n) has definitely caught my attention. I do believe I shall pay her a visit, after all the poor thing needs this back does she not?”
Selena was dropped abruptly and as Xenon began to lift off the ground, she called after him, desperate to keep the human away from the dangerous fae she had inadvertently caught the attentions of.
“How do you expect to find her! You have no idea where she even lives! And why dredge up old memories, she’ll likely have no answers for what happened to Mar——!”
The name, once so familiar and revered, now only full of anger and bitterness to the large fairy stopped him from flying further away as he leveled a glare directly at Selena, stopping her breath for a moment as she was seized with a primal fear.
“Never say that name again. You don’t deserve to say it. If I want to know what happened to her, I will. But whether or not this (Y/n) can provide me with such answers, what does it matter to you? Besides, this is her bag. It’s easy to make a tracking spell. Now I’d suggest you stay out of my sight for a long time Selena. Lest I decide you have no more use.”
With that, Xenon flew away, leaving a shaking and petrified Selena in his wake.
~~~~~
When you arrived home, covered in dirt with a bruised nose and no bag, your father, rightfully, freaked out. After losing your mother a few years after you were born, and finding out about the curse affecting you, he became exceedingly protective. In fact, the only reason he let you traverse the woods was for the sole reason if you got hurt there it was just the curse you had to face. Entering town was always hard as there was the added vitriol of the townspeople who despised that which you couldn’t control.
You pouted, having been relegated to scrubbing the cups and plates, as your father would say, “Wooden AND not sharp, it’s the perfect chore for you, (Y/n)!”
It didn’t mean you had to like it though, so, pouting, you continued your chore. Every time you came home injured, he would freak out and send you to do some careful, mostly non-injurious job so he could assure himself you wouldn’t end up like your mother, fondly remembered by your father as Ash, because she had the ability to quickly quell any argument, smothering it like one would a fire, leaving only cool ash in it’s wake. Having died before you could remember anything important, you were left with faint memories of warm eyes and a lullaby when she would put you down to sleep.
You blinked, having been pulled from your thoughts as you noticed the water having cleared of soap suds, which was strange as you had started only five minutes prior. You tilted your head, reaching for the soap, but flailed and ended up slipping on a mixture of water and soap below your feet as your father's angered shout resounded through the house.
You ignored the way the fall knocked your breath out of your lungs as you got up as fast as possible and attempted to race to the door, slamming into doorways and cabinets as you went. Huffing upon arrival, you took in the scene just beyond the doorstep of the house; your father, angry and heaving and the tallest fairy you had ever seen, looking mildly confused and irritated at the angered form of your father.
His green eyes slid carelessly from the angered man facing him down to your form as you emerged cautiously. The eyes appeared to light up as he took you in before sauntering up to you, still ignoring your father, who was stopped from approaching with a wave of the fairy’s hand. Your brows furrowed as the aura the fairy exuded seemed familiar, but he began speaking before you could finish chasing down that familiarity.
“You know, living in a house so close to the woods and so far from the rest of the humans seems foolish. What if some monster from the forest decided to take notice, hm?” his question seemed ironic, but he continued before you could answer, “Anyways, you left your bag in the woods. Also, what’s with the anger from that guy? I don't believe I’ve ever met him, but then again, I came for you, not him.”
He bowed slightly, seeming intent on something more when his hand lingered on yours when he foisted the bag off to you. A cautious silence filled the air as he leaned ever closer, eyes brightening and dimming as he appeared to be deep in thought as he took in your visage. However, before anything more could progress, the silence was broken as the fairy was abruptly pushed away as your father, having finally broken through whatever the fae had put up, stood protectively in front of you, leaving you to look curiously over and around his muscled bulk at the interaction that took place.
“Leave, Xenon. You stay away from my daughter and never come back here or else you’ll have to face me this time.”
A brow was raised as the newly dubbed Xenon smirked and fluttered slightly off the ground.
“And why should I? How do you even know who I am? And if you do, surely you know your threat is nothing to me. Ah yes, (Y/n), you intrigue me. I’ll come visit you sometime.”
With that, he flew off laughing, leaving behind the outrage your father threw after him. Leaving you slightly curious and wary, clutching the bag you had expected Selena to drop off. You didn’t have long to dwell on your thoughts as you would quickly herded inside the house.
“What was that about? Who was that? And how do you know him, dad?”
Your questions were answered vaguely as he guided you further up the stairs and closer to your room.
“Someone you don’t want to get to know. And I only know of him, I’ve never actually met him before now. But I know exactly what sort of things he can do. Now, stay in here, if he comes back, you are not to let him in or interact with him. Of course this had to happen during the busiest time of the year. That festival always needs a new stage and new booths every single year and they foist the management position off on me every time,” he casually blocked your attempts at more questions by walking away, “I’m serious (Y/n)! Stay here!”
You pouted and crossed your arms, unsatisfied with his answers, but already complying as he gathered his tools and set out for town. Despite your curse and his protective instincts, you knew he would only order you explicitly if it was truly something dangerous. So, you settled down, content to wait for him to come home so you could needle him for more specifics.
However, Xenon was not as content to simply wait it out, as you would soon learn, brashness and little, if any, foresight guided many of his actions and led to him developing such a fearsome reputation when paired with his overwhelming powers.
~~~~~
You grew bored quickly of just waiting in your room, so you went to get a snack. After somehow giving yourself a cut from grabbing a bowl to put an assortment of berries in and then banging your knee going up the stairs, you opened your door to reveal Xenon lounging on your bed, examining the journal you put under your mattress, with the window wide open.
Unsure how to react, you stood there for several moments, wondering if you should just close the door and go back downstairs when he finally deigned to take notice of you.
“You’ve been exploring these woods for a long time. I have so many punishments to dole out for hiding you while you were in there. I mean, you documented every creature you met and when! It doesn’t get much easier than that.”
He sat up, snapping the journal closed and tucking it away. Standing up, he sauntered over to you, glancing over you curiously as you continued to stand there, still unsure on what to do next.
“You still haven’t said a word. What, is there some secret to unlocking your voice box or something?”
The teasing was certainly not what you were expecting from someone who could get such out of the place reactions from both Selena and your father, so your defenses lowered slightly, allowing you to finally speak.
“Well, if there is I guess you found it?” you chuckled slightly, still nervous and shifting in place as he began to circle you, “What are you even doing in here?”
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m here to see you! I thought I told you I’d visit sometime.”
“Yeah, you did, but sometime usually implies more than a few minutes after that promise.”
“Really? You humans are fascinating with your time constructs and how long they are. I honestly have no idea how you function like that.”
“Well, I suppose you’d have to grow up with it. Otherwise I guess it would seem rather strange and bizarre.”
He tilted his head when you agreed, continuing to stare as you laughed, but as the silence continued on his side, it petered off to an awkward hum. Finally, he blinked, shaking his head and smiling.
“You are intriguing. I honestly would have expected you to be bitter about magic and creatures with customs and styles different from your own. After all, most other humans are the same. I would have thought you’d have been doubly so considering the curse Selena told me you have. But you’re not. Strange. I want to know more the farther I look into you.”
He was in front of you, nearly chest to chest as he proclaimed this, eyes unwavering in their hold on your own orbs. This left you to break it, backing up a few steps and rubbing the back of your head sheepishly as you replied.
“Well, the curse tends to cause collateral damage from time to time. So, no one in town really likes me because of it. No one in the woods really cares though, so I like being there. And I don’t even know who gave me the curse, as far as I can tell, I’ve had it since I was born. Apparently it was part of what killed my mother, which didn’t really help public opinion either,” you hummed, looking out the window before your eyes slid back to the face of Xenon, “To be honest, I try not to let it affect me, even if my personal experiences have shaped how I interact with the world. Everyone has different experiences and feelings and families. I’m sure there’s tons of beings out there like me.”
You trailed off as an odd look crossed his face, but before you could decipher it, a smirk replaced it as his eyes shone a little brighter.
“You are definitely worth knowing. How about I show you the forest the others haven’t shown you?”
He leapt up to the windowsill and held out his hand, beckoning you to take it, but you hesitated, not wanting to ignore the warnings your father gave you. Xenon noticed the hesitation, his eyebrow raising with a silent question. One you could answer.
“I’m not so sure. My father warned me of you. Said you aren’t someone to get to know.”
He scoffed at that, stepping down to you.
“Oh come on! What have I done to possibly make you think I’m bad?”
“Well... You did break into my room and read my journal.”
His shoulders slumped slightly, bringing an involuntary giggle to your lips at the slight pout he displayed.
“I meant more along the lines of I haven’t hurt you or anything. ‘Sides, you didn’t even lock the window. Now that’s just asking for someone to break in. Just be glad it was me and not some ordinary robber.”
You smiled slightly, teasingly adding on, “Oh, so are you a special robber then?”
“Yes!” Xenon exclaimed confidently before he realized what you actually said, “Wait a minute.”
That actually got a full laugh out of you as he floundered over his words. Your defenses had been suitably lowered, being friends with the creatures of the forest most of your life giving you the confidence to place your trust in him.
“Alright, fine. Show me the woods I haven’t explored yet. But I have to be back before nightfall. I’m giving you my trust for now, so try not to lose it.”
He bowed, making a grandiose display as he did so, bringing to your lips a few more chuckles.
“Of course. I would hate to leave the lady wanted at home. You shall be back before nightfall.”
He stood up, once more leaping onto the windowsill and holding out his hand. This time, you took it, allowing him to lift you up, wrapping an arm firmly around your waist as he took to the air, off to the depths of the wood.
~~~~~
The sea of trees below you was unlike anything you had seen before. It looked more mysterious from above, with all the wonders hidden away beneath the covering of branches and leaves, giving only brief glimpses of clearings as you raced over the forest. You laughed, wind whipping your hair around your face as you took it all in with wide eyes. Xenon seemed amused by your reactions, teasing you even as he flew steadily deeper and deeper into the forest.
“You’ll probably hurt yourself if your eyes open any wider. I mean it’s just trees, not really anything new.”
“Ah, you’re no fun!” you exclaimed, “You have wings, so you can see this any time you like! I don’t, so of course this is fun for me.”
He let out a laugh at your reply, jostling you as his grip slipped slightly in his mirth. However, he was swift to adjust his hold on you when you began to slip.
“With this reaction to the tops of trees, I look forward to what you’ll do when we actually reach something new.”
He continued to fly for several more minutes, continuing to banter even as he slowly slipped under the tree line, floating closer and closer to the forest floor. You were so distracted with trying to find a comeback to his latest jab that he managed to land and guide you to your destination without you noticing. At least, you didn’t notice until he finally pulled aside a curtain of vines with a flourish, revealing a cave with high swooping ceilings, plenty of natural light, and an elaborate mess of quilts and jewelry covering a statue worn down to a vague outline from years of wear and tear.
It was unlike anything you had ever seen before and you were spellbound, taking in all the details you could make out as the light behind you cut off abruptly as Xenon swept in behind you. You were left with beams of light filtering in from the cracks in the sides of the rock face, giving the space an even more mystical vibe as dust and dirt swirled around, lighting up like motes of sun in the beams of light.
“Pretty cool right? Certainly not anything you’ve seen before?”
The sudden question startled you from your reverie, bringing you back to the present. You yelped as Xenon suddenly leaned in close, cocking his head to the side with a smirk present from your amusing reaction. But as you still hadn’t answered, he saw fit to ask once more.
“Well? What do you think?”
“It’s pretty cool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like this before. What even is it?”
You hefted yourself up to the statue’s base, ignoring the sharp rocks that dug into your skin in favor of straining to glimpse at the few faint carvings that managed to survive the years.
“Eh, pretty sure it’s some sort of artifact to a god or something, maybe even the previous ruler of this forest. Might have been part of a temple,” Xenon flew to the top, landing on one of the massive horns protruding from the sides of the head, “But its been long abandoned. I mostly use it as a place to rest and to store all my trinkets. Not much use otherwise.”
He shrugged, leaning against the head, and watching as you continued to circle the statue, his eyes narrowing imperceptibly as you stumbled over mostly smooth ground. You took little notice, too wrapped up in your thoughts to pay attention to your companion’s actions at the moment. Eventually, your attention trailed off to the walls, noticing strange etchings not in line with the carvings present on the statue. Xenon took notice, tilting his head to continue to keep an eye on you without moving from his perch as you trailed in a slow and shaky circle around the circumference of the cave. Soon, your attention was drawn to another opening, large enough to walk through unimpeded, but leading further into the shadows behind the statue. You weren’t sure what to do next, so you glanced at Xenon for instructions.
He let out a huff, a smile growing on his lips at the lost look on your face before he leaped down gracefully, landing close to your form.
“Such curiosity. And yet you’re cautious enough to not go charging in head first. Interesting.”
Xenon led the way, wings taking on a faint light as the sunlight faded behind you the further into the cave you went. Of course, this in turn meant almost zero visibility for you, leaving you completely at the nonexistent mercy of your curse. After the third time you fell, Xenon finally let out a huff, taking your hand to guide you.
“You really are helpless on rocky terrain like this. Who even cursed you anyways? And, for that matter, why were you cursed?”
Unfortunately, the answers you could provide failed to satisfy him.
“I already told you. I have no idea. I mean I’m pretty sure I was a baby when it happened. Because I can’t remember ever being cursed. You’d have to ask my father for specifics, but I doubt he’d give them to you.”
He grumbled, pulling you a little faster, causing you to stumble to try to keep up. It seemed to be getting a little brighter, and you soon noticed clumps of luminescent moss appearing in greater bunches along the walls, casting a soft, yet eerie glow the further down the path sloped. Your musings were once again interrupted when Xenon spoke once more, his voice echoing strangely off the walls.
“And your mother’s dead.”
“Yes, from my curse.”
“...What was her name?”
“Well, my father always called her Ash.”
“Hmm.”
He seemed disappointed by the answer. But before you could dwell on it too long, the walls suddenly opened up, leading into a cavern many times larger than the one above. Moss covered nearly every inch of the place, leaving only a pool of water, still and inky black despite the bright moss, to stand out in the carpet of surprisingly soft bioluminescent plants. You could glimpse more intricate carvings similar to both the statue and the walls from the cave above present through the moss. On the floor, the walls, even the roof of the cave. You walked farther in, nearing the center as you turned around and around.
Once again, the spell was broken by Xenon, this time with a shout and a harsh tug of your arm just before your foot could brush the black waters of the pool. You huffed, about to shout back, but stopped when you noticed numerous ripples subsiding in the water, and something resembling sharp and jagged teeth flashed in the light of the moss for a moment. You shivered.
“I tried to tell you not to get near there, but you didn’t seem to hear me. You really don’t want to know what’s down there. Trust me.”
Xenon pulled you up and away from the pool, guiding you back to the tunnel.
“Maybe that’s enough for here. We still have a few hours before sundown, so how’s about I walk you back?”
Slowly pulling your eyes away from the pool, you allowed him to tug you along, nodding in agreement when he looked back at you, words failing to come out.
~~~~~
You remained uneasy and silent for several minutes more, lingering on the unnatural shape present in those waters. But, the farther you got, the more Xenon aided you in distractions with new sights and sounds on a trailing path home. Slowly, you felt more at ease, smiling and laughing at the stories he told you of the unique areas you went by.
A dead silent glen filled with rainbow flowers were from a dare he was given when drunk. It was to make the most beautiful flower out of an item suggested by the rest of the drunk and rowdy crowd. So, he took the dare and made a rainbow flower out of a strong sleep potion.
“Yeah, that thing knocks you out cold the minute you take a whiff. That party was knocked dead silent after I caused this whole field of them to bloom. Honestly, they’d have been gone by now, but every time someone tries to, they end up being found unconscious, taking a literal dirt nap!”
You had leaned down to smell one when he stated the facts. He didn’t stop laughing at your loud yelp and desperate scramble backwards for five minutes. Then, he finally satiated your curiosity on the next unique sight that came across your line of sight. Floating around a giant tree, the roots dangling in the air in a bubble of water several meters above your head, was a school of fish. They looked like any river fish with the sole exception they were swimming through air, rather than water. Xenon was more than happy to answer.
“That used to be in the ground. But, it just so happened the time a raging storm came through, it left a small pond in the roots of the tree. Not lying! That freak storm several years ago, I’m sure you know it?” You did of course. It destroyed several properties in town and even though you wren’t anywhere near it, you were pretty sure it was still blamed on you. “Well, that sucks. People really have to stop playing scapegoat. It’s never fun. Anyways, over here, it managed to gouge out a perfect center, leaving the roots in tact. So, when I checked it out, I found it filled with these fish, just swimming around like nothing else. It was crazy! Eventually, this thing started floating higher and higher, until a bunch of satyrs freaked out the day the fish started flying. Pretty sure it’s something about the water. But, hell, maybe it is the fish!”
Continuing on, you lost track of time as you continued to stroll through the forest, taking in both familiar and strange new sights along the way. You mentioned a few of your own experiences; such as a large hunk of crystal, held aloft by strings of multicolored thread. Xenon admitted he had no idea on that one, so you finally had the chance to give your own story.
“The old dragon,” close by was the cave, filled with crystals, that housed the dragon, “he felt the woods around his dwelling could be spruced up a bit. So, rather than just ask a few nymphs for help or something, he decided he’d rip the largest chunk of crystal he could out of the wall and string it up outside. So, when that inevitably failed, he got some help. I’ll be honest, it was an interesting idea, so I bought a ton of thread and knitted together several hundred yards of a multicolored string, mostly so I could see where he was going with this. Next thing I knew, he had gotten a few fairies to strengthen it and then just looped the string around that crystal and strung it up. Like some crazy demented ornament!”
It seemed to amuse Xenon, enough so that by the time he calmed down, you had already reached the edge of the woods around your house.
“Oh man, you really are interesting. I was not expecting that was how that got up there, but I was not disappointed!”
You laughed, trotting away from him towards your house, pausing at the porch steps to wave goodbye.
“I had fun! I wouldn’t mind doing this again sometime!”
With that, you bounded up the stairs, pausing only when you tripped to pick yourself up again. Xenon watched you go, the faint smile on his face fading to a scowl when the door closed. He turned, giving a harsh glare to the foliage until the cautious forms of several fairies crept out. Firmly entrenched now in his position of leadership, he allowed himself the pleasure of finally cracking down on the gang of creatures that had been following him and his companion around since they had taken to exploring outside the cave’s boundaries.
“I don’t take kindly to the fact you all felt you could do this without any recompense. Now unless you really want me to do something, I’d suggest you don’t ever try to get involved in my affairs again. I have no cares for your own personal feelings in the matter. You stay away from the human or I’ll make sure of it.”
He growled, narrowing his eyes as they shrank in to themselves, gave their word, and fluttered off. Xenon only continued when all but one had left.
“At least you know what’s coming, huh, Selena?”
Selena swallowed, nodding as she readied herself for whatever was to come next.
~~~~~
The woods were quiet as Selena followed Xenon, many having retreated farther into the woods, back to their dwellings for the night, leaving few, if any, to witness what happened next. Stopping just shy of entering a familiar, if now moonlit, glen, Xenon stood still, quiet and solid for several long moments. When Selena finally grew restless, shuffling in place, and uneasy, he finally spoke, with a self-satisfied smirk firmly in place.
“You should really be glad I’m in a good mood. I don’t feel like doling out any punishment tonight.”
“Ah, well, thank you for that?”
Selena grew wary, unsure how to deal with a calm Xenon. She was used to anger being readily apparent whenever someone crossed Xenon, so the very fact he was able to conceal his emotions this time was worrisome. She prepared to lift off and fly home, ready to forget this ever happened, but a hand slammed into the tree beside her, stopping her dead in her tracks as she hovered in place, making eye contact with the surprisingly dark green orbs of Xenon.
“I may be letting you off this time, but,” he leaned closer, “I will not be as willing to forgive you next time. And trust me, you don’t want to know what’ll happen if you forget that.”
With that, he was gone, leaving her to slowly drift back down to earth, unable to move for several minutes more.
~~~~~
You hummed, drifting into the house with a cheerful expression. Even when you tripped going up the stairs and banged your head on the side of the door, you remained happy. Xenon was fun. He took you to places you had never been before, telling you fun stories, and entertaining you with only the expectation of a similarly entertaining story.
You shook yourself out of your daze when the door opened and closed, signaling your father’s return. You trotted back downstairs carefully, peeking into the front hall to see him shucking off his boots with a heavy sigh. He noticed you and waved you over, enveloping you in a firm hug. You reciprocated happily, but teasingly commented that he needed a bath. He laughed and ruffled your hair, stepping past you and further into the house.
“I suppose I do. Hard work and hot sun tends to lead to that.”
You smiled and headed back up the stairs when he called to you one last time.
“By the way (Y/n). I suppose I did overreact earlier. You can go out to the woods if you want to.”
You paused, unsure what lead to him changing his mind, but thanked him happily. So, the next morning, after your father had headed off for work, you grabbed your bag and headed out, taking note of what herbs and spices still needed to be restocked. A few could be bought at the market, but others were found more easily in the woods.
There was still a sizable number you needed to find, so you started off as soon as you were ready. The morning passed quietly and your bag began to fill up quickly. By the time you stopped for lunch, it was already more than halfway filled.
A sudden gust behind you messed up your hair and interrupted your lunch. Tilting your head back, you met the gaze of Xenon, who looked bemused. You finished chewing swiftly, nearly choking in your rush to greet him. You coughed, reaching blindly for the container of water you brought with you. A firm hand met your back, steadying you before you could fall over and the container was thrust into your hand.
“Do you always choke on your food? Or am I just special?”
You snorted, finally getting your breath back.
“Hello to you too, Xenon. And it happens more than I care to admit. And you did agree to being special. If only a special robber.”
You laughed, taking note of the pout on his face and the brief worry that flashed in his eyes.
“Don’t worry too much. I’m used to it! Anyway, is there anything you need? I’m in the middle of restocking our supply of herbs and spices, so I’m afraid I can’t go on any strolls or adventures today.”
“Ah, actually, I was wondering if you were planning on going to that festival the town is holding in a few weeks? I went once a while back, but I have been meaning to go again.”
You hummed, unsure if you should take him up on the offer.
“I suppose I could... but I haven’t gone in awhile because the tensions always eat at my nerves. I don’t like the way the townspeople look at me. There is a reason I hang out in the woods more than I do in town.”
Xenon looked crestfallen, his wings drooping slightly and his eyes dimming.
“I see. That’s too bad. I won’t force you if you don’t want to go.”
He sighed, looking ready to wander off, but you answered with a slight smile on your face.
“I didn’t say no,” you giggled as his wings perked back up and he whirled back towards you, “I do like the pie they sell specifically for the festival and if you’re going I won’t be alone in the crowd. So, why not.”
You yelped as he scooped you into a hug and twirled you around.
“Alright! Thank you! Ah, I need to come up with the perfect disguise! I’ll see you later, (Y/n)!”
You laughed, waving him off as he left as quickly and as suddenly as he had arrived. You shook your head slightly, before turning back to your forgotten meal with a faint smile still gracing your lips.
~~~~~
The weeks passed quickly, your father leaving early and coming home late as he continued work on the festival. You hung out with Xenon more often, as he seemed to find you easily every time you headed into the woods. He showed you the disguise he would wear; a tall, dark haired young man with brown eyes. You did notice that the green slipped through whenever his emotions grew, but otherwise it was a flawless disguise. His wings were safely hidden, hiding the last vestiges of his otherworldly appearance with ease.
You had oohed and aahed over his appearance, giggling silently when he showboated, his ego sufficiently stroked for him to do so. You clapped a few times when he was finished, at which point he seemed to realize what he was doing and blushed slightly, sputtering out excuses, sending you into peals of laughter that caused you to tumble off the log you had been perched on.
You had a few bruises by the time you were back on the log, this time with Xenon hovering over you. You smiled lightly, prepared to head home for the festival’s start the next day. Xenon helped guide you home, only stopping when going further would lead into the house. You smiled, waving him off and promising to be out the next morning to head into town, seeing him fly off reluctantly before you stepped inside.
~~~~~
Bright and early you headed off, bidding your father goodbye, he only let out a tired grumble, finally able to sleep in since the start of construction. He still had to take down the booths and stage, but that was in a few weeks, when the festival actually ended. So, you left him to his slumber, having already told him where you were going and assuring him you would be careful.
You grabbed your bag, planning on filling it with containers of pie and prizes, before finally stepping out into the day. You took note of the darkened horizon, judging that a storm would be coming in during the afternoon. You were then met with the disguised form of Xenon, who perked up and bounded over upon seeing you exit. You laughed, taking his hand gladly and stepping out and onto the winding path into town.
“So, what do you want to do first?”
Xenon thought carefully on the question, but eventually settled on; “Whatever you want to do first!”
You smiled, swinging your clasped hands back and forth, before you decided on a few games you enjoyed that were always at the festival.
“And then, pie!”
He laughed, taking no note of the stares he received as the two of you arrived in town, intent on taking in your smiling visage. As the day progressed, the more crowded the festival became, until soon it was as loud and uproarious as you remembered. But the longer you spent there, the more dreary your mood became, with Xenon being the only thing keeping you going.
For the more people there were, the more the murmurs began. Xenon seemed concerned, pulling you closer and glaring out at the crowd, growing more aggressive as time passed. But, the whispers were all encompassing and where one murmur fell silent at his gaze, another began.
“Yeah, and can you believe that Mar—— actually married the brute and had that awful spawn?”
One of the older ladies mentioned your mother’s name, causing you to flinch and attempt to grasp onto Xenon a little more, already affected by everything leading up to this. However, his head had snapped in that direction as recognition lit up his eyes with a greenish glow even through the brown that hid their true nature. Your own brows furrowed, but you thought little of it until you had reached a lull in the crowd, close by to a darkened alley. You let out a yelp as you were suddenly pushed into it, caged against the grimy wall by Xenon, whose eyes were wild as he spoke in a hiss, not wanting to draw any attention.
“Why did they say that name? How do they know that name? I thought your mother’s name was Ash?”
You shivered, trying and failing to flinch away from his grasp and the unstable flicker in his eyes.
“Th-that’s what my father calls her. Marsheena is her actual name! Why does it matter? All I really know is that she died from my curse and that’s partly why they hated her!”
Xenon went deathly still, eyes widening with a sudden realization and the words he carelessly spoke next brought a dawning horror to you.
“No. Your curse isn’t what killed her. It was supposed to just be her’s. She refused me. Why didn’t she tell me? Why! The only way that curse could be on you was if she was pregnant with you at the time. And if she was then she was likely already married. Why didn’t she tell me!? All this time she wasn’t even mine to begin with!?”
He gripped his hair, anger and confusion on his face, his disguise flickering, showing glimpses of his true form as his emotions grew unstable, huffing for breath as you slowly inched away. Confused, but slowly, understanding dawned upon you. Your quiet whisper snapped his attention back to you.
“All this time. All this time it was your fault? Her death? My curse?”
You huffed, feeling hot tears prick at the corner of your eyes. You turned before he could see it, willing them back, not wanting to breakdown here, not with him, not in the middle of the festival.
“I-I need time to sort this out.”
You hurried out of the alley before Xenon could pull you back. You were sure you couldn’t fully blame him. His outburst showed how emotionally unstable he was, even now, about the rejection and about your mother, and about everything leading up to the events that had happened before you were born. But, you needed time and space before you could sort this out with him. You had to sort it out yourself, consult with your father for more details before you could truly come to an understanding with Xenon.
Escaping from the darkened alley, you left Xenon to try to push his way through the crowd, shouting after your swiftly retreating form for you to come back or wait for him, but for once the hatred worked in your favor. The townspeople refused to get near you, allowing you swift passage through them, while simultaneously pushing back in on Xenon, forcing him to try to shove past the general townspeople and the dozens of ladies looking for a date or a dance with the handsome stranger that his magic showed to them, especially now that he was no longer with you.
~~~~~
You ran, getting closer and closer to home, relying on the fading sunlight that struggled to pierce the dark and heavy cloud cover, the storm rolling in swiftly as night approached, hoping against hope that Xenon would understand your need for space. But, as you drew closer to home, the louder the shouts behind you grew until you were stopped just shy of leaping onto the porch and into the house by a strong hand on your arm.
“Let me go, Xenon! I need space!”
You pulled desperately, trying to get away before the dam broke and you started to cry. But he tugged back, just as desperate, but with twice the strength, pulling you to him and cradling your cheeks as tears began to trickle down your face. Even as you attempted to shove him off, growing more desperate, he remained steadfast in his grip on you, disguise fully abandoned by now, allowing his wings to wrap around you, preventing you from pulling away. He huffed, seemingly unable to say anything at the moment, but the look in his eyes from earlier still hadn’t fully faded, leaving you wary even as you began to break into sobs.
He seemed ready to carry you off, still riding this unstable train of emotions when light flooded over your forms as the door swung open violently and your father stormed out.
“(Y/n)!”
He pulled you away from the fairy’s grip, and ushered you swiftly into the house as Xenon attempted to follow to pull you back into his grasp. But your father slammed the door shut, and quickly painted something on the wood. It glowed briefly before fading, just as Xenon slammed into it, causing it to rattle tremendously. But, it held up, even when the tell tale flash of his magic shone through the cracks in the door, even as he clawed desperately at the walls and banged farther and farther around the house, looking for any way in. And when one refused to present itself, an unholy howl of rage shook the foundations.
Afterwards, you found it was a one time concoction that your father had received from a fairy a few weeks earlier. It prevented all magic of any degree and severity, allowing no entry no matter the desperation.
But all you could focus on, throughout the thunderous booms and bangs and howls, was the warmth your father exuded as he clutched you close, rocking you slightly as you finally started to sob.
~~~~~
Xenon heaved, finally slowing down from his assault on the house. But even as he finally gave up, slinking back into the woods, rage burned deep within. Magic crackled from him, hissing loudly as rain began to fall, evaporating in the literal heat of the anger he could not contain, causing all the right minded denizens of the forest to flee. Only a fool would have disturbed the powerful fairy during his frenzy. And such a fool, there unfortunately was.
“You know, this probably ruined everything for you. You should have just given her the space she told you she needed.”
Growling, Xenon’s eyes cut to the small form of Selena. For a moment they simply stared at each other, the only sounds being faint crackles and huffs from Xenon. Selena soon shifted, flying slightly higher to be on eye level with the taller fairy.
“It’s not right to try to force your will on others. You tried it with Marsheena —“
A sudden pulse of energy and Selena found herself pinned by the throat to a nearby tree, the dangerously bright eyes of Xenon highlighting her features in an electric green glow.
”Who said you had the right to say that name!” Xenon roared, finally addressing her directly even as his grip grew tighter.
She gasped for air, clawing fruitlessly at his hand, regretting her foolish actions now. But her traitorous mouth continued to speak and she watched in muted horror from the back of her mind as the rage grew wilder and wilder and his eyes grew even brighter the longer she rambled without thought.
“You tried it with Marsheena and that failed! You need to let (Y/n) go before the same thing happens! I’m glad I gave Richard that mixture, at least it kept you out. You’ll likely be nothing but a monster in her eyes now! In fact, you’ll probably be seen as the monster you show to the rest of us!”
A wordless howl escaped Xenon’s throat, clamping his fist even tighter, he lifted into the air like a rocket, flying forward with the only purpose that stayed with him even as the rage pumped through his veins and clouded his mind. He ignored all her desperate efforts to get free, only loosening his hold when her struggles started to slow and his destination drew closer.
He wasted no time in landing softly, slamming down and storming through the curtain of vines and into the cave he had first shown (Y/n). The screams of pain from Selena brought a vicious smile to his face, the seals carved in the rock lighting up a familiar shade of green as they brought agony to the fairy he now clutched by the back of her shirt.
When a high keen was left resounding in the air, he finally waved his hand, bringing the current pain to an end. Selena moaned, twitching slightly as the aftershocks of the sudden painful experience slipped away at an agonizingly slow pace. She had little time to adjust, only barely able to keep her wings from being ripped to shreds on the rocky ground, as he began dragging her towards the terrifying darkness that the beams of moonlight falling into the cave failed to pierce.
She began her struggles anew as Xenon showed no signs of slowing down, still fueled by the rage she had stoked, only one goal in his mind getting steadily closer. A distant splash resounded in Selena’s ears. She began to sob, begging for him to stop, to slow down, to think this through. All she received was a snarl and a quickened pace.
It grew brighter now, bioluminescent moss appearing to swallow the walls and floor at a ferocious pace. Her wings became coated as they brushed the walls, bringing them drooping with the weight to finally make contact with the ground, bringing her new agony as something caught and tore painfully through the thin membrane, soon piercing the veins and coating her wings in the dull silver of her lifeblood. It gave an ivory shine to the moss causing the problems. She would have almost thought it pretty if it hadn’t been causing her such pain. Only now she noticed she had broken off into a scream as the holes grew larger and the blood left a silver trail in her body’s wake.
Tears began to trickle down her face as the path widened and the distant splashing became louder and louder before they suddenly stopped. All to soon, she found herself hefted up, held above a dark pool filled with ripples. She dangled, huffing as she made desperate eye contact with Xenon, begging him silently to let her live. But he paid her little mind, intently focused on a bead of blood slowly, painfully slowly, streaking down one of her ruined wings. She hiccuped, her own eyes drawn with terrified fascination to watch it as best as she could.
For a moment, it wavered, seeming to decide between falling or clinging to the very edge of her wing. Then, it fell.
She inhaled. The blood made a quiet plop as it swirled in the blackness, giving the dark and silent depths a momentary silver hue as it dissipated.
She exhaled. Silence as the last of the color faded away. The dark waters swallowing it whole.
A sudden flurry of activity as a horrifying face lifted from the depths, huge sharp teeth on prominent display, slamming down where her feet had been dangling had she not pulled them up at the last second. She screamed, both from fright and pain as it instead ripped a jagged hole into her wings, leaving a now constant flow of blood to pour into the frothing waters. The black became overshadowed by the silver tinge and the shine of flashing teeth.
She squeezed her eyes shut, clinging to the arm keeping her above the churning water. She flinched when warm breath brushed her ear.
“This is what happens to those that step out of line. You can call me a monster all you want, but it won’t save you from this. And really, you kept me from comforting the cute little mouse. You made me scare her. Don’t you think that makes you a monster too?”
A dark laugh resounded as his grip loosened.
“So, from one monster to another, goodbye, Selena.”
She inhaled sharply. His grip vanished, leaving her to slowly fall towards the black water and the sharp teeth that lurked below.
She exhaled shakily. Her final glimpse of Xenon was the bright green aura he gave off, lighting up the space brighter than even the moss could handle.
Then, she slipped under the water, vision going dark, panic ripping through her as one single flash of light filled her vision. A huge yellow eye with a red slitted pupil drew closer and closer, filling her vision before teeth clamped down on her skull. An agonizing scream attempted escape, water filled her mouth, and her head separated from the rest of her body.
~~~~~
Xenon smiled, his eye twitching lightly as the waters slowly calmed, leaving the world once more unaware of what lurked below. One nuisance down, several more to go. Selena’s death would soon be followed by several more before Xenon could have the little mouse all to himself. The horrible townspeople would be satisfying, but the father, Richard, would be the true final obstacle. He prevented Xenon from obtaining Marsheena, but he would not stop him from taking (Y/n) all to himself.
Xenon began to laugh, trailing out of the cavern, mind already whirling on plans to right the wrongs forced upon him. First, sweet revenge on all who had harmed her or kept her from him, then to bring the mouse back to him, safe and sound in his arms, before finally locking her away so no one could ever take her away again. His laughter grew louder, eyes flickering as his emotions turned down an unstable path, maniacal plans growing and forming as a peal of thunder shook the heavens and the huge storm finally began in a frenzy of lightning and pounding rain.
~~~~~
You sniffled, clutching the steaming cup close to your body as the storm raged on outside. Your father pulled you closer, rubbing up and down your arm in a comforting gesture. You finally felt calm enough to talk, the last vestiges of your breakdown present only in red rimmed eyes. Leaning your head on your father’s broad shoulder, you finally spoke for the first time since he had pulled you in.
“You knew the whole time didn’t you? About me hanging out with Xenon?”
He chuckled, ruffling your hair slightly.
“Yeah. That fairy you always hung out with. Selena. She told me about it. Gave me a warning and that mixture first time she came by. But, you seemed happy, so I just let it be, even with all the problems he’s caused in the past.”
You sighed, despondent from the events that occurred earlier.
“I suppose bringing him along to the festival was a bad idea. They started talking and mentioned mother. He... had a breakdown or something. How does he know about her? What happened before?”
You looked up at him, pleading for a full answer to your question. Your father sighed, looking away slightly.
“I suppose I was going to have to tell you eventually. I just never expected it to come around like this. Your mother used to be like you. Always hanging out in the forest, forging bonds with the creatures there. Only difference was she was close to Xenon from the start. I knew about it, but never met him. I only know that sometime during our courtship, or even before that, Xenon fell in love with Marsheena. But he told her too late. We had already been married for several months and she was displaying signs of a pregnancy. So, she knew she had little time left before she would have to limit or even outright stop such excursions. So, she took the chance to give her goodbyes. Xenon was last. And he took the chance to confess to her before she could tell him. She rejected him and he grew angry. He lashed out, cursing her. He never showed up to her again, but the damage had already been done. She came home and immediately collapsed. The next day, she tripped and fell on a rusty nail. A string of bad luck began to follow her and she stayed home to avoid hurting you accidentally. This unfortunately meant the town formed their own ideas of what happened.”
He chuckled at this point, rubbing the back of his head.
“I suppose it was my own fault for not saying anything, but Ash didn’t want them to start a man hunt for Xenon, even if he had been the source of the problem. Eventually, you were born. But the bad luck that plagued Ash had affected you as well. She dealt with her own bad luck for months, but now she had a baby plagued with that curse as well. She died saving you from being crushed by a runaway cart. She was trampled by the spooked horses, leaving you crying in the middle of the road. The townspeople began to hate you as well. I tried my best to protect you, but the town wasn’t safe and I didn’t want to make you feel cooped up at home. So, I guided you through the woods until the creatures took notice. They began to keep you safe and provide you with the companionship you needed. I suppose they recognized the little bit of Ash I think you. But now Xenon is here and in your life. What am I supposed to do?”
He looked desperate. Defeated. So unlike the strong figure you had seen your father as all your life.
“How can I possibly keep you safe? I’ve failed as a father.”
He buried his face in his hands, choked sobs escaping him. You tried your best to comfort him, but knew there was much more to do before anything could truly be resolved.
“I need to talk to him.”
Your definitive statement had him looking up at you in worry.
“Xenon seems to be ruled by his emotions. I’m sure he didn’t even realize he was scaring me. I’ll wait for him to calm down and then attempt to get to the bottom of this.”
You took his hands in yours, squeezing them lightly in assurance, giving him a peck on the cheek before turning in for the night, the last thing you heard was his mutter of “just like her mother” before you started up the stairs.
~~~~~
The storm continued raging for a week. Every time you attempted to go out, the door was slammed shut violently by the screaming winds. Your father barely managed to get it open, telling you to stay inside while he went to check on things. He came back several hours later, shivering and soaked from the rain. His face was pale as you guided him to a chair, grabbing as many towels as you could carry. He took them, remaining silent for several minutes before starting a fire to heat up the now cold house before collapsing back into the chair.
“The entire town was destroyed,” he finally said, “It could be partly the fault of the storm, but there were vines, huge and thorny. I didn’t venture far, but there were so many impaled on those thorns.”
He shivered, breath shaky as you in turn shivered, imagining the gory sight and glad you hadn’t witnessed such a thing yourself. But, concern grew for your father as he began to board up the house, in spite of the rain lashing at his back as he hammered planks of wood over the windows. Whenever he saw you come near any opening, he quickly ushered you back, as if he was afraid something would reach out and take you.
And one night, something finally happened. You had been fast asleep in your room when a loud crack sounded from below. You stayed frozen for several minutes, unsure on what to do, but leaped into action when a strangled cry and several ominous crashes rang out in quick succession. Grabbing your bag out of habit, and then taking a moment to fill it with anything heavy to use as a makeshift weapon, you rushed for the stairs. Stumbling slightly, your sleep bedraggled form tottered down the stairs until you finally missed a step and tumbled the rest of the way down. You wheezed, certain you had a bruised rib now, but the rest of your breath escaped like you had been punched in the gut as you took in the sight before you.
Rain lashed into the house through the hole where the door used to be. But the water was joined by a slick trail of red, leading outside. Looking further, you noticed huge signs of struggles, furniture overturned, scratches lining the walls and floor like something tried desperately to get away. And upon hearing a scream of pain that resounded even over the rumbles of thunder and pounding rain, you stumbled outside, wincing at your tender ribs.
But the sight you came upon stopped you dead in your tracks. Your father was bleeding out, several large gashes in his sides and one through his head. He was trying desperately to tear the hands from around his neck even as several vines bit deep into his arms, pulling them down to the earth to pin them in place, much like his mangled legs were already nailed into place, vines tightening cruelly, crushing them beyond recognition.
And Xenon was hovering over him, determinedly trying to choke the life out of your father. You screamed, drawing both men’s attention. Xenon’s eyes lit up with horrifying glee even as he steadily crushed the windpipe of the man pinned below him. Your father looked at you in desperation, barely managing to choke out a desperate plea.
“Run! (Y/n), get away from here!”
Your eyes wavered, even as horrible choking sounds emanated from your father. You swayed to and fro as the wind battered into you and the rain lashed at your skin, quickly soaking through your clothes and deep into your skin. Xenon now called out to your horrified, frozen form.
“Just wait right there my little mouse! I’ll take you home where it’s nice and dry as soon as I finish dealing with this filth.”
You flinched at the vitriol dripping from his tone, finally bolting as your father, unable to speak, begged you with his eyes to flee. So you did. You ran as fast as you could past the sight, not stopping even when Xenon called after you, not even when thunder boomed and seemed to shake the very ground beneath you.
Breathing heavy and ribs pulsing with a muted pain, you ran further and further into the woods, desperate to get away, not daring to look behind you for fear of falling over or finding him right behind you. Your bag smacked the backs of your knees as you ran, but you tried not to slow down even when the weight nearly knocked you over as it slammed your knees forward. Rain nearly blinded you, falling directly in your eyes, but you blinked rapidly, continuing to hurtle through the trees with reckless abandon.
You realized you were crying when a sob ripped from your mouth, but the tears quickly mixed with the rain and you could feel no heat from them as they slipped from your face. You hurtled onward, still afraid that you would soon hear your name being called behind you by Xenon.
Your only pause was to try to straighten your bag, only a second, and yet when you went to resume, you smacked straight into the solid chest of Xenon, who was glaring worriedly down at you, eyes lighting up his face in the shadowy underbrush and stormy sky, streaks of red present in his clothes and on his face, even as the rain was swiftly washing it away into a light pink color.
“How did you find me!” you shrieked, trying to swiftly scramble away, slipping on the wet ground, even as his arms quickly encircled your waist and tugged you closer to him.
Before you knew it, he had clasped you tightly to him, lifted off the ground, and was soaring at a dizzying height, far above the tops of even the tallest trees, leaving you acutely aware that Xenon was the only thing preventing you from becoming splattered on the ground. You clung to him, shaking lightly as you dug your face into his neck, almost plastering your form to his, fear of falling overriding your fear of Xenon for the moment. This was horrifyingly different from the first time you had been over the forest.
Xenon chuckled at your reaction, holding you more firmly to him, as the rain continued to fall to the earth below, before he finally answered your question.
“The first time I saw you, you were racing Selena. Of course, even then you had intrigued me and I felt the need to learn more. So, I figured bringing you your bag was as good a place as any to start. Not knowing where you lived, I simply cast a tracking spell onto the bag, guiding me to the owner and giving me the location at all times. I just never got around to removing it, so when I saw you heading off with that bag in tow, I decided to put that spell to use. And will you look at that. It brought me right to you.”
He continued to fly, finally nearing the ground as he mused, more to himself than to you.
“I suppose I should add some more seals to the cave and probably to you. Make sure you can’t go wandering out and into the nearest ditch to injure yourself.”
Upon landing, he rushed into the cave, ignoring your renewed struggles to escape with ease. He only set you down after he had sealed off the exits with more of the vines. Huge and smooth this time, they blocked off your attempts to escape, leaving you to fruitlessly claw at them. You could finally feel the tears dripping down your face, hot streaks that landed on the floor of the cave soundlessly.
Your shoulders shook, too caught up in your grief to notice the arms turning you around and pushing you firmly into the vines. You did notice when his lips crashed into yours, teeth clicking together in his eagerness. His hands traveled from your shoulders down your sides to caress at your hips. Any attempt to tilt your head away and break the lip lock was met with a nip at your jaw and a deeper kiss than before. You cried out when he finally trailed down to your neck and sunk his teeth in. His grip was finally loose enough that you could shove him away, stumbling further into the cave and away from Xenon. But this time, you tripped, feeling your ankle twist unpleasantly.
He took this opportunity to scoop you up and push you against the statue. He grinned triumphantly, your blood still staining his teeth red. He nuzzled at your neck even as he laughed at your attempts to back further away from him. He clutched your arms, pushing you more firmly into the stone statue, leaning in and covering your escape with his wings, encircling your form as his grip grew tighter around your biceps.
“Marsheena may not have been mine, but you are,” his eyes grew brighter and brighter in his twisted excitement, nearly blinding you as you twisted and turned, trying fruitlessly to get away from him, “I can keep you safe, protect you, love you! Don’t you get it! I gave you that curse, it’s only right I break it. I gave you the life you’re currently living, but I can fix it! I can make it better! You just have to... stay here... where it’s safe.”
He was panting by the end, barely able to contain his raging emotions, eyes now flickering swiftly between blindingly bright and a green so dark it was nearly black even as he leaned in to bite at your neck a few more times, nuzzling into you and eclipsing your view of the cave with his wings, leaving him the only thing you could see. He was terrifying and you had nowhere to run, caught between a rock and a maniacal fairy, with a storm that continued outside, abating ever so slowly as he leaned further and further into you.
I think of Selena’s wings as similar to a dragonfly’s wings, which are made mainly of membrane and veins. Butterfly wings are also formed of membrane, but are covered in scales and hair, hence why they have color and aren’t see through like dragonfly wings are.
Yandere Head Canons:
Past the Point of No Return
Yandere Fae Enemy General x Healer Fem Reader
TW: Yandere themes, yearning, delusional behavior, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Corvin Fausto it was never one to believe in fate. He truly believed he’d never find his destined one since he lived a life of war. He was the young general of the fae army and lead them to numerous victories against the invading humans… but their elven brethren that turned their backs on the fae and began to help the humans. Which made this war suddenly shift against the fae. A betrayal the fae could not forgive the once peaceful elves for.
He was able to hold the enemy forces back long enough to escape, but they had damaged his wings beyond immediate repair. He’d likely have to go into hiding for a few months until he’d recover… but how? He was being relentlessly hunted by humans.
Corvin hid himself in a small cave, hopeful he could rest here for a while without getting caught… but his hopes were dashed when he saw the form of a young woman tilt her head at him in curiosity.
“Hello? Is someone there?” Corvin didn’t dare speak when a young elf appeared before him. Her beauty was unparalleled, but her ears were much smaller than most elves… she was a half elf.
(Your name) gasped at his wounds in shock. She quickly reached into her satchel to pull out various salves to put on his wounds.
Corvin made an attempt to try to push her away, but he was so weak from blood loss. The last thing he saw was her smiling face as she reassured him with her soft words, “it’s okay. You’re safe now.”
When Corvin came to, he was shocked to find himself in a warm cabin rather than in the forest. His eyes were wild as he searched around but he quickly winced when he shifted his wings too sharply. Corvin was surprised to be patched up and cleaned… where was his armor?
“Oh! You’re awake!” Corvin whipped his head around to spot (your name) leave her bedroom, a soft smile on her lips. “Are you hungry? I have some soup over the fire-“
“I’m your enemy.” Corvin told her with a glare. “You should have left me to die-“
Corvin was shocked when (your name) shook her head and gave him a smile. “That doesn’t matter. You still needed help and it’s my job as a healer to help the wounded.”
Corvin was surprised when she went over to the hot cauldron to pour him a bowl of soup. The half elf placed the bowl beside him. “You can recuperate here for the time being. I’m helping you simply because I want to.”
“My name is Corvin Fausto. What’s your name?”
“I’m (your name).” She gave him a gentle smile that reminded him of spring. And for the first time in Corbin’s long life, he felt his heart flutter.
Corvin hesitantly drank the soup before he smiled softly to himself. He’s never received such care before… did he truly deserve her kindness?
As the days melted into months, Corvin grew attached to (your name). She was kind yet she was stern. Her care never had ulterior motives yet she also didn’t allow him to disrespect her because of her race. She fascinated him. For the first time in his life, Corvin was enthralled.
Corvin found himself helping her around the humble abode. He’d clean, gather herbs with her, fetch firewood, or help her cook. It was such a domestic life together that Corvin slowly began to wonder if she’d want to continue to live a life like this with him. Would she want an idyllic life?
“It’s been really nice having you around, Corvin.” (Your name) beamed at the fae who blushed. His hands itched to intertwine with hers. “I think you have a week left until you’re fully healed!”
Corvin felt his blood run cold with the words. A week… did she want him to leave? He thought they had a special relationship. No. He wouldn’t let her go! (Your name) was his destined mate. The one he’s waited his whole life for… and he’d be damned if she rejected him.
“If you ever get injured again, my door is always open-“ (your name) is surprised when she’s suddenly pulled into his arms in a tight embrace. “Corvin?”
“Come back with me… no.” Corvin thought for a moment. His people would terrorize her if he brought her back, they could hurt her. He could abandon them right? The fae would understand… a destined one was a rule they all abided by. “Let’s just stay together here, in your cabin.”
(Your name) raised a brow. “What do you mean, Corvin?”
(Your name) felt her blood run cold at the crazed look in Corbin’s eyes. “We can live together here in your cabin, far from everyone… far from the war.”
Corvin glanced around the cabin with eagerness. “I think there’s space for two little ones… we can start our life here!”
(Your name) tried to pull herself away from his grip, but Corvin was latched on like a tick. “Corvin, you’re scaring me.”
“You’re my destined one.” Corvin replied in a breathy whisper. “That’s why you saved me despite me being your enemy… you saved me because you knew we were meant to be.”
Faeries and Giants
A/N: Thanks that one anon for this idea! took my own spin on it >:DD
Content Warning: Held hostage by a giant, mentioned consumption of humanoid creatures, kidnapping
Synopsis: Life isn’t all great being a faerie in a world of giants, elves and dwarves-- of which, some are keen on plucking you from the forest floor like a berry and keeping you to themselves.
Tumblr media
“So… delicate,” plump fingers outlined the crisp glass of your wings, their luminescence almost blinding to the giant. Your teensy, human-like frailty was some sort of evolutionary mistake-- how could you survive in these woods for so many decades, for centuries? You and your kind were mini parasites-- although delicious, and cute to play with, ultimately not meant to survive in this world where big bad wolves and giants ten times your size could pick you up like an acorn and snap you like a tall blade of grass.
“Get your dirty paws-- OFF!” You kicked and bit with feral haste, clothes of leaf and twine breaking each time the giant poked and prodded at your pudgy, elongated features. One wrong tug and your arm or leg could come twisting off, your wings tarnished and ripped to fragments if he so pleased.
“Settle down now, little one,” He let out a roar of a laugh, shaking down through his palms to his feet, making the earth beneath him crumble. “You’ll get hurt worming around so much!”
You shrieked at the gentle touch against your bare sole, the giant playing with your toes and fingers as he stretches and bends your limbs.
“Please--urk, put me down! I’m not meant to be this high, I, I need to get back to the ground-- let me go!”
“Ah, but aren’t you meant for the skies, little beast? What else are these… appendages for. Mere sparkly decoration?”
He runs a finger down the middle of your back, touching the sinewy fiber connecting translucent wings to your spine. You shivered, physically jolting at the uncomfortable, warmly touch.
Your wings were drenched-- wrinkled and sopping from the “quick dip” the giant holding you thought would be a good idea before scooping you up like a pretty pebble. His previous…encounters with your kind must’ve prepared him well for the fluttery agility your poor wings could provide.
“Hm, do you like that?” The giant groans in heightened interest, resting his cheek in his hand as he holds you in the other. “The fairies I’ve met are far less dainty, withholding far more… animosity. Of course, they had been well-versed in magic and spells moreso than you seem to be. Far more appetizing, too. But you… you almost look like a stout sapling, useless in all endeavors besides your adorable little figure!”
….Appetizing?
Looking to the Giant’s pocket, you can see them there….Wings, some crumped to shards, others merely bent, stuffed in his trousers with shimmering pinks and golds and blues-- cleanly picked off of whatever faerie they belonged to.
“You… they’ve been disappearing, because of you! Collecting their poor wings…You’re a monster! My friends, eaten and killed--!”
The giant brought you to his eyes for closer inspection, pools of lake green beneath his moppy silvering and unkempt hair. He observed the river of tears falling from your face, your nose dripping and stuffy as you beat against his hand.
“Why yes! We seem to agree on something; I am a monster of the forest-- as are you, and your thieving little fellow faeries. Stealing from my livestock, shoveling everything they can find into their mouths, attempting to poison and spitroast and maim me--” He brushes a tan knuckle against your cheek, smooshing it in an attempt to wipe away your tears. “And so I eat them-- which ever ones manage to cross me, choosing to arise my wrath. It’s the circle of life, my little winged beast.”
He chuckles at the nickname, gazing at you slumped over on the creases of his palm, calloused from a life of barreling trees and tending to his oversized farm on the outskirts of your fae hamlet.
 You were too high to jump from his palm at this height, even with his fingers no longer tightly wound around you. If you tried to fly now-- you’d be as good as dead.
“S..so, what’re you gonna do, with me?”
You wipe away your tears, trying to see the giant clearly this time; maybe you could pinpoint a weak area of his, something to make him drop you-- it’d be better than spending eternity in his palm, or his stomach.
“So precious… What do you think? Should I eat you?” He grins, a large straw of wheat hanging from betwixt his lips.
You shake your head rapidly, attempting to reach for the dagger in your leather boot.
“No, no. Of course not, I can’t rid myself of such a cute fae like you, even if I despise the rest of your species--” He delicately takes his thumb and pointer finger to your cheeks, squeezing them to puff out your lips. “I enjoy your itsy-bitsy presence too much… perhaps I’ll keep you where the birds used to lay; the cage is quite spacious, right in the kitchen. I’ll make a soft bed of chicken feathers for you, a table just big enough to do your faerie crafts and harmless little spells on.” The giant smiles softly, touching the bare of your collar uncovered by leaf and leather cloth. “I’ll bring trinkets from the valley for you to do with as you please, cook hearty meals for us to share, even let you out to be coddled and touched every now and again-- how does that sound?”
You were quick to shake your head, tempted to stab at his palm with your dagger, but an irked expression ran across the giant’s lips as his gaze fell to the grassy plain beneath him.
“Your friend here however, will not be staying.” He holds you tightly again-- squeezing enough to keep you in the dark of his palm. It was warm and of an earthy smell, almost too tight for your cold body. You're abruptly tucked into the giants shirt pocket, a finger over your mouth and eyes that forced you into muted darkness.
Even with your fabricated blindness, you could here the breathy grunts of a familiar voice-- unmistakably from a woodland elf, the glass-shattering vocal chords of a creature who could burst ear drums if he so desired. You didn’t know for sure, but you had a reasonable guess of which elf in particular who seemed to be fighting a mountain of a giant in your honor. An unforgettable, certainly imbecilic ignoramus elf who tailed you everywhere you went in hopes that, this time you would accept his smitten betrothal request.
You swam against fabric tugging you downward to reach the shirt pocket’s opening, wincing as the giant holding you captive yelped out.
“Gah! he stabbed me, the little fucking imp!”
It's the first you've heard him curse with such venom, mouth curling into a snarl as he bends to pick up the wooden sword-swinging elf at his boot.
The elf screamed out your name, trying to cut at the scarred fingers holding him hostage. You reached out to him from beneath your pocket enclosure before the giant flicked you on the head, holding your savior far out by the tips of his fingers.
“Ah look here, your knight in shining armor… hah, too bad, he looks absolutely delectable.”
The giant’s irritation was growing by the second, keeping a hand over you in his pocket as he shakes the elf around furiously.
“No--! please don't eat him, he just-- Let us go, he has nothing to do with this!” You tug against the giant’s button up, watching your elf companion swing around his needle-like sword at the  giant holding him up by his collar.
The giant laughed, eyes crinkling as his chiseled chest bumped against your back.
“Don't fret sweet faerie, I’m not so brutal as to consume a creature like this raw; by all means, he’s coming home with us. How long he lasts- that's up to you.”
The giant stood from his crouched position on the grassy knoll, heavy boots digging into the grass to make muddy imprints. He dangled the elf out forward, watching as the poor creature sweat bullets while looking at you helplessly.
“Let my faerie-- go!” The tiny voice felt so far away, different than the usually grating elf’s voice you were accustomed to getting frightened by.
The giant places his fingers into his shirt pocket, nudging you with them in a powerful caress.
“You'll remain my little darling-- while our elf friend here, remains where he belongs-- in the pigpen. Together, we can find a punishment suitable for him.”
You didn’t like the sound of that. With one heavy foot in front of the other, the giant started toward a thatched roof cabin in the grassy distance.
Yandere!!Fairytale characters!!Dark Reverse harem xFemale reader
I recently edited this
Part 2 here
You always loved stories for as long as you could remember because every night until you turned 8 you had dreams about coming to visit these story book characters but strangely they were your age in these dreams and were incredibly possessive and kept going on about how you would have to get married to one of them when you grow up.
When you were 9 you stopped reading fairy tales and these dreams stopped too.
8 years later~
You where just minding your own business when your mother came in and told you that you had to donate some old toys to a charity shop, you lazily got up and went to your attic where you kept most of your childhood things. As you searched you picked up the story book that you haven't seen in 8 years, a wave of nostalgia came over yo as you flipped through the pages. Suddenly aa portal came from the book and sucked you in.
Story 1 Cinderellis
You found yourself in a castle when someone suddenly bumped into you. You were surprised to see a beautiful woman wearing gorgeous clothing and a crown probably the queen giving you her hand to help you up she apologized and then gasped taking a closer look at you.
Queen: y/n is that you?
Y/n: Um yes?
She beamed and hugged you.
Queen: y/n my dear its been so long you're all grown up and so beautiful!
y/n: Queen Charming?
Then it all came back to you .You where in the castle where you used to play with your old friends Ellis and Johnathan. The queens son Johnathan saw you as a little sister and the queen saw you as a daughter but Ellis was the son of a wealthy man who was very kind and had a close friendship with the royal family. You remember Jonathan was vey protective and teased you a lot while Ellis was very sweet and incredibly shy and was very clingy towards you but he had this dark side and hated competition.
Queen: Just call me Caroline dear.
She smiled warmly at you seeming euphoric to see you again.
Caroline: Come quickly we must tell Jonathan you returned he will be so happy to see you.
So she lead you to the vaguely familiar room belonging to Jonathan
When he turned around you could barely recognize him he really has grown up.
Johnathan: y/n?
You nodded and he then tackled you into a hug like when you were kids.
Johnathan: I knew you'd come back dummy!!!
y/n: You really haven't changed a bit huh Johnny.
After you three caught up you found out Ellis's dad had died after you left and he now lives with his stepmother and his two stepbrothers they stopped seeing him after they met his stepmother.
Caroline the told you that she was gonna plan a ball for your return and to find a wife for Johnathan she sent out invitations to everyone in the land including Ellis and his family.
Ellis's home
Ellis was doing his usual labor because his mother treated him like a slave ever since his father died. His step family now just calls his Cinderellis due to him always being covered in soot. Ellis barely got anything to eat and was always given ragged clothing to wear. His stepbrothers mad sure to make sure he feels and looks terrible because they are incredibly jealous of Ellis because of his looks and all the female attention he gets.
After all these years Ellis hadn't forgotten about you but how could he ever since he met you he had been madly in love with you so much so that he worships the ground you walk on and would do anything to get your attention and much much more to get you affection but after you left a piece of himself left too he was absolutely devastated but he never lost hope that someday you'll return.
When an invitations to the ball came Ellis didn't care but he jumped for joy when you saw that this was for your return finally, he'd see his beloved again.
He told his Stepmother, and she told her sons to try and get you to fall for one of them now Ellis didn't like this and poisoned his family that day, after all Ellis never liked competition.
After the murder he disposed of the bodies he then dressed in one of his fathers suites and daydreamed about how soft your lips where or how happy you'll be to see him he can already picture you running into his arms proclaiming your undying love for him and how you'd never leave him again you'll be his in a matter of time.
Back at the castle
You were getting ready for the ball when a blinding flash of purple light came, and you saw a woman with a wand and beautiful purple wings in front of you.
???: Oh hello dear.
y/n: um who are you ma'am?
???:I'm your fairy Godmother I'm here to help you get back home.
y/n: Why? everyone is so nice here.
She went silent for a moment looking at you sympathetically.
Godmother: Things aren't always as they seem my dear...you have to save Jonathan if you want to make it to the next story.
y/n: WHAT IS HE IN DANGER??!!!AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN NEXT STORY??!!
Godmother: Keep it down, yes he's in great danger and you have a few more stories to complete before you get to go home.
y/n: what do you mean?
Godmother: I mean in each of the stories you will live in you will have a task when you complete it you will be sent to the next story but if you fail a task you won't be able to leave when you were younger you made every one of the male leads fall for you and now their obsessions have grown in an unhealthy way so be careful I'll see you soon.
and then she left just like how she came with without warning and in a poof of purple light.
The ball had begun and you couldn't stop worrying about Caroline and Johnathan. You were shaken out of your train of thought when a young man asked to dance he seemed pretty exited even euphoric and...love sick?
Nonetheless you agreed and he swiftly took you to the the center of the ball room as you two danced you couldn't avoid his stare it was so intense but those gray blue eyes were just` too familiar then it clicked.
Y/n: Ellis...?
He smiles at you and nodded.
Ellis: Did you miss me little mouse?
you smiled back at him and hugged him and he was in pure bliss finally you're back in his arms oh how he's dreamed of this day everything was perfect until he saw those pretty eyes of yours start to lose focus on him as you kept glancing at Jonathan this made his blood boil he was always second place to Jonathan when it came to you he always got your attention but now he's finally snapped he's had enough.
When you left to go check on Caroline he pulled out a vile of poison the very same he used to kill his step family.
Ellis: I didn't think I'd have to use it so soon.
He mumbled coldly.
He was about to pour it into Jonathan's glass when he heard your voice and he quickly his it into his pocket smiling at you, you asked to speak to him privately and he was taken back when he saw you crying and he immediately went forward to comfort you only to be pushed away.
Ellis: Little mouse what's wrong.
You stared up at him with a mix of hurt betrayal and confusion.
Y/n: I saw what you were about to do Ellis...I don't understand, Why would you try hurt him.
Ellis: why? because I love you y/n I love so much that it drives me insane I love you so much that I'd kill anyone in a heartbeat just for your attention I love you more than you will ever know little mouse~
All you could do was look up at him in fear as he caressed your cheek smiling at you with a sickly-sweet smile.
y/n: what happened to you? You were so sweet so kind and so selfless.
Ellis: Oh y/n you happened to me.
you saw a deranged glint in his eyes and his smile turned more sinister.
Ellis: You turned me into this.
At that moment you knew there was no reasoning with him so you had to be with him until you get sent to the next story.
y/n: Ellis I'll be yours if you promise not to hurt anyone else.
You could tell he was more than euphoric hearing those words come out of that pretty mouth of yours it sent him over the edge.
Ellis: I promise Little mouse.
For about 5 months things where perfect for Ellis waking up and knowing you are there being the only one able to kiss your soft lips it was pure bliss until there was a flash and you were gone.
You were falling out of the sky and splashed into the water you tried your hardest to swim but couldn't you were about to drown but you were rescued by a strange being and all you could remember was its voice.
Tell me if ya want me to continue and please give my other yandere stories some love.
God loves you get plenty of sleep and stay hydrated
Can I have a Yan genderbend of Maleficent? Or the very least in a yandere pletonic relationship with them?
Tumblr media
Yandere Genderbend Maleficent x Reader
You couldn’t believe you used to admire your family’s ignorance. You internally screamed as you listened to your family further embarrass themselves. They were so deluded by your great-grandfather’s pact, they had become set in the avarice founded from it.
Long ago your great-grandfather had done the impossible. Defeating the fae army and even reclaiming the fallen land before establishing a functional militia there. Earning those honor-driven fae’s respect made your kingdom one to be praised in legend and stories to come. Some suspected you were a puppet state, and others wondered if you had a secret item that had the fae yielding to you. But you knew the truth. You were the only one who actually devoted time to the archives and private libraries. Actually yearning to know the truth. What you found was a successful mission to show the value of humanity. Your great-grandfather had befriended the young fae responsible for the war and somehow convinced him to explore the intricacies of the kingdom. The kingdom was filled with joy and a general consensus to be good. It sounded like paradise. The letters proved that the great fae thought precisely the same which is why he raised no alarm when he grew close with the prince–your grandfather. This relationship would be scandalous, judging by the letters both were torn between letting them be together. The fae was madly in love easily sharing his devotions with his friend, only for the king to show concern. For he knew his child and believed it would lead to their doom. As the king aged his authority was no longer uncontested and it was easy for his nobles to offer his throne in reward for control of the fae.  It wasn’t long before your grandfather returned wings in hand and was crowned as the greatest king to be. It wouldn’t be until that same fae returned to curse your mother that the situation would intensify. The story would tell of the princess cursed to sleep through her own pregnancy and the future king that would slay the dragon that was that revenge-stricken fae.
They thought the body had faded because they had won. They were wrong.
“Oh, King of Fae can’t bygones be bygones?! After all your family and ours were great friends.”
You cringed as the green magic seemed to flare up once again. You bit your tongue, for the time being, your parents were completely oblivious to the friendly relations you continued to nurture with various fae.
“Yeah! What more do you want?! At this rate your just going to keep coming back to scam us or something.”
Your foolish brother piped in. Of course, he wouldn’t be aware of the true nature of the king before him. Nor of the power he possessed. You were lucky he hadn’t sucked the life out of everyone in this room.
“...I need proof of your loyalty to me. Something prized by your people.” Eyes hauntingly green roamed the room before landing on the oldest prince. “Someone precious.”
“Oh heavens! No, please!” Your mother cried leaning into your father who was visibly sweating.
“I’d rather die than give my son to you! Surely there is a gem or item you’d wish from us.”
The fae glowered. “No. Anything I want I can have. Anything I want I can take. Besides you, humans are hardly grasping what I want! Give me your prize!”
Prince Phil opened his mouth in a plea before being interrupted by the clicking of his younger sibling's heels. Poised and focused they easily attracted the attention of everyone in the room. Servants, guards and the royal family alike watched as the youngest royal came closer to the towering fae. If it weren’t for the situation he would have turned up his nose, the little parasite had done nothing but ruin his right to the throne. Not in the official light–his parents had always loved him more: they told him so themselves. But among the guards, the people, the servants, and even assassins had no stronger loyalty than to them. An embarrassment to the one birthed to wear it. He couldn’t stand (Y/n)!
Nonetheless, he watched as they bowed, practically on their knees to the fae distastefully dragging their cape on the ground. A shameful appearance for someone of royal blood; no matter how despicable.
They spoke, “Forgive us, my King. They are unaware of your history with the rulers of this kingdom and in no way are a reflection of the people who revere your existence.”
The green glow that had been permeating off the horned guest seemed to lessen as he watched blankly at (Y/n)’s plea. I could hear the scoldings they no doubt would receive, not to mention the punishments. What would it be? No more horse riding? Banned from the kitchen? Restricted from traveling? Oh, the possibilities were endless…
The fae didn’t speak which allowed (Y/n) to speak once again.
“I fear that my family has not much to spare…but if you’d be willing I offer myself to you.”
“(Y/n)! Speak no more!” Father called with more worry than I expected. But they continued looking into the monster’s glowing eyes as if to manipulate him as they had done with so many others.
“If you’d be willing your Grace, let me be your prize!” Tilting his head he seemed to consider before looking at father who had looked away. His lips opened to speak before another interruption occurred.
“(Y/n) please don’t do this!”
“Master please consider!”
“We’ll go!”
“Yes! Please you mustn’t this kingdom needs ya!”
Many of the lowly servants dropped to their knees calling out from behind the guards who were hardly doing anything to restrain them. Sneering I had half a mind to strike them now but I wasn’t a fool; decorum was important even for the company of a monster.
(Y/n) seemed to falter before continuing to bow to the creature, who tilted his head once more and smiled in amusement.
“I was worried I was being offered a worthless prize…” Withdrawing a clawed hand from his robe he lifted their chin and trembling lips. Smiling devilishly as that green fire around him flared.
“But I realize this is the fabled Shadow Dove, the silent pacifist between our peoples. Continuing to keep the…altruism within your kingdom.”
Father made a grumbled murmur from his beard and Mother looked just as surprised as me. I paid no mind as he made (Y/n) rise with a pull of their hand. He moved around them to step closer to our thrones. I drew my sword ignoring the shaking as I pointed in his direction. He looked to me, monstrous eyes keeping me at a distance he turned to look at father and mother smiling with that horrifying display of teeth. Staff in hand the green flare seemed to spout from the staff in a frightening display.
“I prophesy that when I take your Dove, your kingdom will crumble. From within its own walls your rule will end! From those ashes, I will take your kingdom and the last of your blood will be mine. ” He scoffed as mother shook intensely before mumbling something to himself…”That is if it survives from my own.”
With a slapping gust of wind and a pull of his robe; the only evidence that he was here was the singed marks against the carpet.
____________________________________________________________
As expected, the moment Maleficent left your mother broke into tears attracting the attention of your father and brother. Allowing you to leave quickly; as you were sure the anger behind their fear was bubbling. No doubt they’d somehow take it out on you, even as you were solely responsible for their lives.
“Oh, Master!”
“Do ya really h’ve ta go?”
“Will ya visit?”
Running into the arms of your family you let your shoulders sag. You let your worry show as you confided in them. To think the only people in the castle who were least literate were more aware of how much the monarchy relied on them than the actual people in power. You prepared yourself accordingly, sending letters to nobles, trade partners, and allies. Disclosing all the information so they knew where your country was at. You fiddled with your plume as you debated reporting Maleficent’s prophecy.
*Tap Tap*
You eyed past your pile of papers at the door. Seeing no one you continued to work
*Tap Tap*
You looked up again, with more vigor. You needed to focus on the good of your kingdom.
*Tap Tap*
“Alright, alright. I’m coming “ You began your search of the room looking frantically for the cause. Only to find it past your reflection in the window. You opened it letting the crow with something in its feet fly into your office.
“Well hello there.”
You carefully stroke the corvid as you unwrap the delivery. It was a letter and a vial filled with a liquid that seemed to change color under the light of the fire.
Dearest (Y/n),
In preparation for our marriage, I have sent to you an elixir. It is to ensure good health as the days count down before I come to retrieve you. I am willing to let you do what you will before I collect you. If there should be any circumstances that lead to you not drinking the elixir or otherwise damaging my prize I will speed that process up, with extreme prejudice.
–Maleficent
You eyed said elixir with great suspicion but after flashing a look of question to the—shrugging(?) crow, you downed it. Hacking at the burn that ran from your mouth to your esophagus you staggered onto your office couch. Scratching at the cushions you tried to refrain from screaming at the pain. It felt like your blood was boiling; thankfully your body felt the same and allowed you to fall into pain-numbing sleep.
The crow tilted its head, watching with beady eyes at the shivering human on the couch. Seeing that the human was still breathing the crow set to take off before being interrupted. Harsh knocking led before the door swung open to reveal a man dressed in royal robes. His hand rested on the hilt of his sword as he stepped towards the couch. He seemed to hesitate before shakily withdrawing the sword from its scabbard, raising it above your sleeping head.
“CAW!”
The corvid call startled the wielder, fearfully returning the sword to its resting place. He looked at the bird with a scoff, making moves to scare it away before stalking out of your office. Seeing as the letter was delivered and its receiver followed instructions, the crow flew away returning to its master.
The following morning, you continued to work having a vague recollection of the delivery. You pressed on, working diligently to organize the kingdom’s assets as best as you could. You held your face in your hands having finally sent your signature on a national ordinance. Preparing for your complete absence was harder than you thought. With the news of your engagement, the people were in a panic: riots, spreading hysteria, and massive scales of evacuation. Thousands of letters from allies and nobles alike begging to go to war instead of your marriage. It was too much for one person to take, especially if you were not nearly as experienced as a certain king should be. Speaking of the failures+ royal family they haven’t made an effort to speak to you. You couldn’t decide whether it was because they blamed you or were finally accepting how little they did on their own.
“Your highness…your parents invited you to dinner?” Your maid spoke unassuredly, if he was befuddled by the notion of inviting someone you live with to eat or that they reached out at all you couldn’t tell. Nonetheless, you accepted, making quick work of the remaining paperwork so that you could finally breathe. Savoring the cobblestone walls you had grown with: cried upon, slept on, dragged your fingers along. Doing the same in your adulthood you fought your tears as you realized how much you’d missed your home and the people maintaining it.
Arriving at the dining hall the king, queen, and their son was already seated digging into their food refusing to pause to acknowledge your entry. You sat at the farthest place setting with nothing on the plate your internally groaned. This was going to be a blood bath. A maid hurried to your side with foods you didn’t like silently apologizing; you deduced this was on purpose as you deadpanned to your family. With nothing but the cacophonous consumption to fill the echoing chamber of the dining hall. Only when you heard the clinking of silverware and the loud sucking of fingers that it seemed they were done.
“Are you not hungry? Are you so fickle that you won’t eat before we drink?” The king jovially chuckled as he wiped his greasy fingers on the vestigial robes your forefathers had worn before. In his laughing, the queen joined in. Phil did not. Instead, he diligently stared at his glass, staying still as he let a maid pour the red wine. You did not join in their laughter even as everyone’s glass was filled, including yours. You eyed the glass suspiciously even as they were already helping themselves to sip.
-DoN’T dRink ThIS-
Whatever that was, you agreed refusing to so much as touch the glass.
The king coughed for attention, raising his refilled glass as he gestured towards you. “Now we toast to the new beginnings that come with the relations beyond!”
The queen clapped to her husband before downing what had to be her third glass, the king downed him, but Phil did not. He seemed to be glaring at the glass as he violently swished the liquid in his glass.
You still didn’t touch your glass even as their contented expressions transformed into nervous looks. Eyes darting from your glass to one another king and queen visibly began to sweat and shift in their seats.
“Uhm (Y/n) dear why don’t you join us for our toast?” The queen nervously chuckled.
“I don’t want to.”
“M-maybe you just don’t want to eat on an empty stomach. Serv-”
“No, I just do not want to drink this.”
In a nervously shared eye contact your parents turned toward you as they fruitlessly pleaded that you drink the wine. All the more reason to believe something was amiss. They continued their desperate pleas as you stood to leave.
“I excuse myself. I have other matters to attend to-”
“No, you don’t!” Phil exclaimed springing from his chair, drawing his sword out, and pointing it at you. You faltered in your route looking to the exit where the guards were posted to see the queen barring the doors. Moving backward with the blade’s tip pointed toward you stopped when you felt the coolness of the wall.
“You’ve sunk your poisoned talons into this kingdom and I’m taking you out of it!” Phil screamed but you screamed right back.
“You idiot! Do you realize if you harm a single hair on my head this kingdom is doomed?! Maybe that wouldn’t have been the case if you had any semblance of the state of the kingdom!”
Your explanation seemed to make him hesitate only for him to come even closer letting the frigidness of the flat side of the blade sit on your neck. You could see the sweat on his brow and your parents working to hold the door. Fearing it is your last opportunity you looked to the narrow windows that showed the faraway lights of the town below and that crow who was sat with another message around its foot. You snapped back to attention as Phil screamed once more.
“Aaagh! Y-you couldn’t just have drunk the wine, you just had to do this…But I’ll DO IT! FOR MY KINGDOM!”
He swiped the blade across your neck before swiping again at your chest. You fell to the floor as you held the parts that burned with searing pain, writhing as you felt more blood rush over your hands. Worried you’d be succumbing to your death you let yourself silently cry as you lost the strength to hold your arms up. Your vision was spotty. All you could hear was the deafened pounding against the door, Phil’s crying, the comfort that followed from the queen…your mother
“W-what is that?! What is this?! Witchcraft?”
The blade was pointed at what would have been your corpse if it weren’t for your blood turning into a silver color and receding back into your body. The wounds you had began to close before stopping as you slumped to the ground. The royal family waited in silence as they watched you lay there. Still and unmoving they came closer to poke at your body hoping that you would remain so. But before they could do so the castle began to shake, windows shattered, and a storm surged outside. Hair and capes whipping in the wind it only took a flash of green lightning for the fae king had arrived.
“To think it took only three dolts to further your kingdom’s destruction; humans continue to amaze me.”
Maleficent spoke candidly before carefully pulling you up into his arms. Phil foolishly stuck his sword out towards the fae.
“So what are you going to do, huh?! Burn me with fire for hurting your precious little prize?!”
He shook as Malleus turned towards him staring him down with that intimidating glare and flare of magic.
“Hahaha!”
He laughed flashing his elongated fangs and letting Phil and the family sigh.
“No. Thanks to my productivity they’re not dead,” there was a breath of relief. One that was short-lived,” but your town will though and by tomorrow everyone will know why. Adieu.”
Nodding his head to the staff and guard that had broken through the doors and pointed accusatorially at the royal family as they watched Maleficent teleport away; beginning the disruption that would spur the prophecy they’d been given.
______________________________________________________________
When you awoke you felt an ache all throughout your body, making your awakening a slow mission. Looking around you weren’t in your home, instead, you were in a darker place with walls of stone and torches of green fire. Barely tilting your head, you laid eyes on that crow kirking its head in your direction before flying off. You had the urge to follow struggling to move with your achy legs and IV pumping something silver into your veins. Unplugging it as you hobbled out of your room, you relied on the cold feeling of your bare feet against the floor to wake you up as you followed the waiting crow.
It felt like you were walking a maze blindly following the corvid as he led you through the barren hallways. Finally sitting still he cawed on a rootlike perch that sat alongside the grand thorned throne in which Maleficent sat with legs spread open in attire much more relaxed than his usual cape. You stared inawe curious if you were dreaming.
“Come Dove. Sit with me. You have destroyed your first kingdom; here we bask in the glory of our immense superiority.”
“B-but I’m nothing but spoils from that destruction…if I should be so bold.”
He smiled. A smile of amusement as you retained your demeanor even in something as simple as your night cloth.
“Sit, (Y/n). I have already found you worthy of this honor. You are mine after all.”
You bowed before stepping up the stairs to his throne and letting yourself sit upon the leg of the fae King. Trying to still your heart as his hand wraps around your waist and pulls you close to cast a spell on a hovering ball of water.
“Now my Dove, let us watch their prophecy become reality.”
Yandere One Piece - Irish/Nordic Fae Folk Myth X F!Reader - Pookah!Luffy
PROLOGUE Pookah - a mischievous yet friendly fae, capable of shapeshifting into any form as they please - malevolent ones included. Legends have told that anyone lucky or unlucky enough to get a ride from Pookah will experience the wildest travel of their lives.
You barely have the time to calm yourself when the Pookah circles you around like a wolf waiting for its prey to move. You’ve been here for a few minutes and already you encountered a fairy folk! Fortunately, luck seemed to be on your side - Pookahs are not relatively dangerous unless you treat them with care.
However, Pookah’s personality is proven to be quite a challenge,  considering this one has the childish personality of a hyperactive boy, drunk with too many candies. Also, he seems to be the talkative type too, jumping around whenever you tried to side-stepped him.
“A human! Sweet! Haven’t seen a human for a while! I mean, on my side anyway. My brothers saw humans all the time because they got permission for it, but I don’t!” The Pookah grumbled, “They said that I need to practice more on my human transformation, but I think it’s perfect!” He gestured towards himself, forgetting about his longish furry ears and tail.
“I… see. That’s very nice, but I have to go.”
Frustratingly, Luffy seems to follow you around, not giving you a moment of rest. It did not help that he had no sense of personal space, always coming in inches close to you - a new toy that he had never seen.
“By the way, my name is Luffy! What’s yours?”
You are about to instinctively answer but a particular warning from your parents hit you on the head. An iron-clad superstition rules that any good children must follow to survive Grand Line if they happened to stumble upon it.
Never tell them your real name, Y/N. That’s how they control you - words have more power in the fairy world than in the human world.
Frowning, you turned your head away from Luffy, “You don’t need to know.”
“Aw, you’re no fun! What am I supposed to call you then? Seaweed? Meat-girl? Oh! I can call you… ‘Wet Blankie’! Because, you know-”
“Alright, I got it! Call me any way you like but you’ll never find out what my name is!” You boldly asserted, keeping to yourself that you can endure the humiliation of being weirdly dubbed for now.
“Fine!” Luffy stuck his tongue out, “...wet blankie.” he added the last part with a laugh, earning him a scowl.
Hurriedly, you walked at a faster pace, hoping to leave the Pookah to his ministrations
“So, whatcha doing here? Are you going somewhere?” “No, I’m lost! I don’t know where I am, what time is it…” You trailed mournfully, “I even started to lose my way around this place.”
“Oh well, Grand Line can be a maze sometimes. Heck, even my friend, Zoro got lost here plenty of times… and he’s a native!”
A certain name from Luffy’s speech puts you into a standstill horror, “Grand Line? As in… THE Grand Line? I’m here in THAT Grand Line?”
“Dang, no need to say three times. But yeah, you’re in Grand Line! You’ll love it! There are so many fun places here - there are so many interesting things happening around here-”
A shudder of panic courses through your body, “No, no, no, no, no! I’m not supposed to be here! My parents told me to stay away from this place! That’s where the fairy folks live, I’ve heard stories of what they’ll do to humans! I have to get out of here!”
Unbeknownst to you, Luffy studied you a little more carefully than the first time he met you. As if he can sense something beyond your appearance.
“That’s… an interesting way to put it,” Luffy droned, “Somehow, you felt different than other humans who fell here.” “You mean there are other humans besides me here?” “Great!” You raised your hands exasperatedly, “I’m lost in this god-forsaken forest,  I can’t find my classmates, and I’m supposed to be home right now! But I’m stuck here! This sucks!” You sobbed
“If you like to… I can give you a ride,” Luffy smiled gently, “I know my way around Grand Line, I can take you to the entrance.” You gasped indignantly at his idiocy, “Are you mad? I can’t trust fairies - that’s the third most important rule that everybody knows!” Luffy’s eyebrows raised in confusion, “Really? Then what’s the second one? I mean, you did tell me the first rule is-”
“-not to reveal my real name to a fairy, I KNOW. You KNOW,” You repeated the rule as if you were schooling a first grader, “The second rule is not to eat and drink anything that the fairies offer.”
“What?!” Luffy jumped in horror, “That’s a terrible rule! You can't do that! Everybody has to eat! Who made that? This is the first time I’ve ever heard it!”
You rolled your eyes in irritation, “Not if you’re a human. They’ll be bound to the fairy world forever if they eat anything in here, and I still want to go home.”
“Not if I can ask the bigwigs to change it!” An optimistic grin burst from Luffy’s face, “I mean, I managed to change a few rules after causing some trouble from time to time again. Which reminds me - I need to hide from my grandpa - he is so pissed off after I destroyed the palace’s garden the other day.”
“You do that while I’m searching for any entrances here,” you murmured, slipping by Luffy.
“Alright, suit yourself!” Luffy shrugged nonchalantly.
Time passed, and you still need to find an entrance. You felt as if the forest was keen on making you even more lost on your path - each shrub seemed to change, pebbles moving out of your marked gaze, not giving you the slightest hope of any exit. What makes matters worse is that you estimated that the sun will set soon. The risk of falling under the clutches of the fairy folk increases with each second you have wasted.
Just as you circled anguishedly around the rock for the fourth time, Luffy popped back again, keeping his irritating grin at your hopeless attempt. “You know, I still can help-”
“Oh, alright!” You snapped, realizing that it’s futile to rely on your own… for now, “But be warned - I have ways to kill you if you break your promise. Got it?”
“Sure thing! I can still take you on if you do! Shishishi!” Luffy innocently chuckled - you felt tempted to smack his head at his indifference.
In just one breath, Luffy transformed himself into a creature that wasn’t a horse but not a mammal either. It was more of like… a rabbit-horse. You were hesitant to approach him but Luffy casually grinned again, lowering his back before.
“Hop on! Don’t worry, I’ll make sure that you won’t fall!”
“I’ll make sure of it too.” You murmured, climbing onto his back.
Luffy is proof that all legends about Pookah giving their passengers the wildest ride of their lives are true. As you let yourself settle in, Luffy sprints at a breakneck speed - so fast and rough that you must hang onto his neck for your dear life. You didn’t even try to utter a scream, only small whimpers in fear of biting your tongue.
So many thoughts ran through your head. Is it a mistake to trust Luffy? How much time had passed - hopefully you would only miss a day or two. And will you make it out of here? You can almost imagine yourself running through the exit out of Grand Line, ignoring any of Luffy’s farewells and just stomping straight to Stelly and Sarie, giving them the beating of their lifetimes at the dining hall. There was also a huge hope that you would be reunited home again with your parents, maybe you could explain why you had lost your iron earrings and being in the Grand Line in the first place-
Luffy suddenly came to an abrupt stop. Before you can recollect yourself, Luffy turned back into his default form, unaware that he let his occupant fall behind his back.
You quickly rose to your feet, nursing your sore arm, “W-Wha? Why did you stop-?”
Luffy’s eyes grimaced, “Someone’s in our path. Look.” Luffy pointed towards a figure in a near distance.
It was a male fairy - an intimidating one at that. Build impressively in a visage fit for royalty, but contains plenty of rebelliousness on the side. Freckles adorn his face like stars and black, wavy hair frames his fiery visage. Behind his back are a pair of transparent, fiery wings that almost resemble that of a hawk. By mortal standards, he is… magnificent.
Your blood ran cold. You recognize the mark on his wings from the illustrations that your mother once drew. She is an impressive artist, painting one bestiary after another with near accuracy. There was no doubt that right in front of your mortal eyes was the son of the Fairy King himself, Portgas D. Ace.
The very same one who thinks burning mortals who pissed him off can be considered normal in Grand Line.
“Wha- what is he doing here? H-H-He’s not supposed to be here-” You stammered.
“Who’s not here who?” Luffy stared at you in question.
“That fairy! Ace! I heard stories about him - he’s dangerous! We have to go!” You furiously shook your head, already searching for a hiding spot.
Upon looking at the fairy in question, Luffy’s face lightens up, “Oh, yeah! You’re right! That’s my brother! OII! ACE-!”
You felt your heart drop at this revelation. Brother. He just has to be Luffy’s brother - why not? It didn’t help that Ace’s attention was stirred by Luffy’s ruckus. Rushing to Luffy’s side, you grabbed his arm as tightly as possible.
“No!” You pleaded, shaking, “Don’t let him see me! I can’t be seen by a fae folk, especially him!”
“What? Why not? I know Ace very well, he won’t hurt-”
“Luffy, please.”
There was a slight hesitation when Luffy analyzed the fear in your voice. It was a gamble, whether or not Luffy would listen to you. Pouting always works, that’s how you got a leeway from the authorities if you happen to be in any sort of problem - like that time you accidentally broke Mayor Woodlsap’s window for a lighter punishment from him. You put your best one yet, coupled with a doe eye that made you seem helpless and innocent.
A few seconds later, Luffy solemnly nodded, “Okay, I won’t tell him that you’re here. Just hide wherever you can, alright? I’ll come and get you when he’s gone.”
You didn’t think twice and made a run for the nearest bushes and rocks that concealed your entire body. Your head peered out upon the two fairy brothers conversing after Ace made his way to Luffy.
Everything about Ace is breathtaking. His beauty is every bit as true as the stories told by swoony-eyed village women. You also have to remind yourself - thanks to your father’s stern warnings time and time again - that Ace is also well-known for his trickery. He is a fairy that would burn humans into a pile of dust or turn them into trinkets if he fancies.
The fact that Ace is unpredictably harmful.
It felt like forever when you counted until five minutes passed by, trying to make out what Ace was saying to Luffy. He seems to whisper something into Luffy’s ears, but the distance is far too wide for you to listen. So you rely on your eyes instead, observing Luffy’s face slowly form into an enthusiastic expression as Ace conversed excitedly with his brother.
You silently breathed in relief when Luffy waved goodbye to Ace, gently coaxing you out of the hiding spot, “He’s gone, don’t worry.”
“What are you talking about with Ace?” You brushed off the dirt in a hurry and climbed to Luffy’s back once more.
“Noooo….thing?” Luffy innocently answered - you rolled your eyes.
“Okay, fine. How far are we to the edge of the entrance?”
“Won't be long now. We just need to make a BIIIG dash straight there…” Luffy pointed straight at a cluster of trees.
“Alright,” you nodded, “Let’s go.”
You barely notice a sliver of Luffy’s dark grin as he runs with all his might towards the clearing. You ignored all the branches, the leaves, and the force of the wind that blinded you - all you care about is reaching the end - to home.
A bright light blinded you at the end of the path. When Luffy stops and lets you off his back carefully, you slowly adjust your eyes to the new surroundings.
But it wasn't the entrance as you might have hoped.
It was a lakeside.
A lakeside that is also full of various fairy folks - bathing and playing and hanging around one another.
It dawns on you that Ace had persuaded his brother to lead you to a trap.
“Hey, guys!” Luffy shouted, dragging you towards them, “I brought a new friend!”
A green-haired demon-like fae folk sighed exasperatedly, getting out of the water, “Luffy. How many times do we have to tell you not to bring any more weird people-”
That’s when his eyes landed on you.
Everything went quiet. Several eyes gazed upon you in interest for a few seconds.
And then it exploded into elated chatters.
Oh no.
“Luffy…” A blonde nymph-like man with swirly eyebrows eyed you as if his birthday came early, “You didn't tell me that you caught a human girl.”
His statement brought an ominous wonder to the rest of the occupants in the lake.
“Somehow, you know how to lighten our day, Luffy.” A fae with a top hat chuckled, already getting up from his position, and making his way carefully around you.
“Come little human, would you like to join us…?” A pretty maiden with long dark hair and piercing blue gaze, a Huldufolk, she recognized, put down her book, and extended her arm at her.
“Listen up, I want her first.” A large troll with red hair quipped, taking in your fearful form.
“Mind your turn, Eustass-ya,” Another fae, dark and attractive, scanned your visage, “It’s been a while since I have a human to play with. The last one didn’t last long on my table.”
An overwhelming sensation flooded your brain - the fae folks sauntered towards you closely, each with every step you took back. Luffy’s reckless decision had earned you a cold, hard target from every fae folk on your back. In a split second, you did the only thing you could think of.
You ran.
Several cries of “Come back!”, “Play with us!” rang all across the field. But you did not listen. No, not when every mere form of danger is right by your footsteps.
Hurt. Sickened. Betrayed. These are the only things that are in your mind. Oh, how foolish you are - no matter how good his intentions are, Luffy is still a fairy who plays tricks upon humans - and now you are his next victim.
Your mind is made up in determination when Luffy springs before you again, trying to explain something. By now, you have already pulled out the cross from your bag and brandished it upon Luffy who backed away.
“I shouldn’t have trusted you,” You growled dangerously, hovering the cross like a weapon.
“Wait! What’s-your-name, I can explain-!”
“Oh, you have already explained enough! Now begone!”
Luffy drew a wicked grin, “Yeah, I was planning to take you back…” Luffy circled you in a predatory manner, “...but my brother Ace had better plans.”
Luffy effortlessly dodged the cross that you had swiped at him, “GET AWAY FROM ME! I wasted enough time with you around! I’ll go home myself!”
“I like you, you’re interesting. Join my pack.” You gasped - Luffy’s arms started to stretch like rubber, coiling onto your other weaponless arm.
“I refuse!” You hissed, trying to escape from his bond.
“Then I refuse your refusal!” Luffy starts to lose his calmness, and he holds you even tighter, “Please Wet blankie! What’s-your-name! I promise you, they are not going to hurt you-!”
“Go away!” You screeched with all your might, pushing Luffy away and hoping that your cross might make a nick on him. You kept running, you could care less if Luffy begged you to stop, you can't simply look back. Perhaps you assumed that Ace summoned himself right next to Luffy, his eyes boring at your running form. He grabbed Luffy by his shoulder, in a regality fit for a king.
“Don't let her go, Luff,” Ace spoke, honeyed and full of dark intent, “All of us had waited years to have her back. We can’t lose her now.”
“No…” Luffy nodded, “I won’t. We’ll get her.”
-
There is nothing worse than to run from fairies and get lost again in their forest. Exhausted as you are, there is no willingness from you to yield from their relentless pursuit. You are going home, and that is final.
Then your nose picked up a salt-like scent. The ground is becoming more coarser as well. You finally realize that as you are busy fleeing for your life, you end up on a sandy beach. Not too distant from you is an ominous cave on the seawater, far too eerie to enter.
And yet, as if curiosity overrides your logic, you decided to take a closer look at it instead.
“Come here…” You jumped. There was a faint voice coming from the cave. So you know how to play this game. You firmly planted your foot into the sand, ignoring the voice that keeps persistently trying to coax you inside.
You crossed your arms and looked away.
The cave lets out a guttural growl - something comes out. You kept your fingers clenched onto the cross as a creature, a merman-like being, swims out, and reaches near you. Aside from his long hair, a striking feature of him is his strange triangle-shaped eyebrows that frame his sharp eyes.
“Must you be so stubborn, child? I know what was going on here, and I am here to help.” He drawled.
Basil Hawkins, the Marmennill, is here to lead you.
i don't know,,, just the way Tooth Fairy looks in this panel is so-
Tumblr media
Gives me such yandere vibes- like
She just calmly threatens you, telling you what she would do to you if you misbehave. She won't mind treating you like one of her tooth fairies, locking you up somewhere, somewhere only she could get to.
Yandere Stories:
The Tooth Fairy (prequel)
Yandere Serial Killer x GN Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A bracelet made of pearly, white incisors was placed under your pillow. Silver wire intricately held each tooth in place to form a grotesque version of jewelry. A mockery of the silver bracelet that had recently gone missing under your nose.
A bit of dried blood on the crown of the two teeth which brought a shiver down your spine. Who on earth would bring you such macabre tokens of affection?
You sighed and analyzed the bracelet. This was the fifth piece of handmade jewelry, if you could call it that, in the last few months.
You placed it with the other trinkets on your dresser. A pair of earrings made of human canines and a necklace made with various premolars and molars. And now you had a matching bracelet for your grotesque jewelry from your secret admirer.
You glanced at your window that had the lock obviously tampered with. Whoever they were, they always managed to break in without your knowledge. Were you still waking up and that was why you were so nonchalant about it? Or was it your fascination with serial killers that made you less inclined to notify the police of your… growing collection.
You rubbed your temple as you felt an impending headache grasp you in its hold. No… you couldn’t reject them. Gods only knew what they’d do if you reject them. Kill you? Pull your teeth out one by one? Torture you? You didn’t want to find out, so you became an unwilling accomplice to this matters individuals scheme. Whatever that may be.
You began to get ready for work at the dentist office but not before you checked your reflection.
Your fingers poked at the corners of your mouth to turn your lips into a smile. Your teeth now on display in this fake display of happiness, the perfect costumer service face.
“Smile…” Because you never know who was watching you.
.
.
.
You sat at your desk with your signature customer service smile and sugar sweet voice. A smile that never quite reached your eyes, but it got the point across to the various customers that came in for their dental appointments.
Another day in your other wise boring life save for the obtuse way you handled your stalker. Perhaps you should buy a gun? You’ve never fired a firearm before so you’d need training…
“Good morning!” You nearly jumped out of your skin when the dentist, Dorian Zimmerman, placed his hands on your shoulders.
“Jesus, Dorian! You scared me.” You clutched your chest as your heart nearly escaped from your chest. An amused smile on his face as he eyed you up and down.
“Maybe you shouldn’t be so lost in thought.” Dorian shrugged while he scanned the list for every patient. “Will there ever be a day I see you on this list?”
You shook your head. “No, I still go to my family dentist.”
Dorian sighed, “a shame. I’d love to look at your pretty teeth.”
Dorian sauntered off, but not before he cast you one last look. “Can you stay over a bit today? I have something for you.”
“Okay.” You agreed, there was nothing weird about the dentist asking you to stay over, right?
Dorian expression lit up like the sun. “Great. I’ll see you then.”
He then ducked around the bend to get back to his customers. You then diligently went back to your front desk duties.
“He has such pretty teeth.” You whispered to yourself before you noticed a man in all black in front of your desk. “Oh hello, do you have an appointment?”
The tanned man clicked his tongue, his gray eyes glanced you up and down. “Yes. My name is Zahn. Zahn Pain.”
Oh, it seemed you had an edge lord on your hands. But perhaps you were making assumptions based on his gothic appearance and prominent eye bags. His choice of jewelry was rather interesting as well… various animal teeth and crystals were parts of his necklaces, rings, and even earrings.
“Ah yes, your appointment is in about fifteen minutes-“ you were shocked when he placed his face closer to the glass, his eyes locked you in place like a predator staring down his prey.
“Do you like the dentist’s teeth?” Zahn muttered, his hands shook a bit while his face remained unreadable and stoic.
“Oh? Doctor Zimmerman has to have nice teeth to show his clients.” You nervously laugh which made Zahn back down. Why was he so strange?
Zahn hummed and shoved his hands in his leather jacket’s pockets. “I think your teeth are prettier since they’re not veneers. Have more personality.”
You thought for a moment. You hadn’t realized Dorian had veneers… which would explain their uncanny valley perfection. Zahn was surprising observant.
The gothic boy took a seat far away from the other patients in the very back of the lobby that had the perfect view of your desk. His gray eyes bore holes in your head while you continued to work.
You just couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that pooled in your stomach…
Just a thought I had with JJBA but here it is
Yandere Little Red Riding Hood JJBA AU
Bruno is the Hunter, Risotto or Diavolo who is the Big Bad Werewolf and Reader is little Red Riding Hood who’s off to take care of her sweet boyfriend Doppio, who came down with a fever? (It’s not a cold, he’s in heat)
I really, really love your JJBA Fantasy AUs (I always read them when I get that wonderful JJBA itch that needs to be scratched)
Aww thank you I'm so glad you love the aus.
But you tried making me choose who was gonna be the big bad wolf. And guess what?
I chose both.
I don't really know how to end this, maybe three separate endings? Rn I wanna see what you think (anon if you want a say send me a msg or another ask)
Out too late (yandere Doppio/Diavolo, Risotto and Bruno X female reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: attempted noncon
You looked up at the evening sky to see the clouds that had drenched the earth in rain fade. You had waited all day for the rain to stop so you could make your way deep into the woods to your beloved Doppio's home.
He'd sent you a letter the other day. Writing about how he was ill and that it was not best you come til he was well again.
Yes, better judgment would agree but you could only imagine how horrible he felt stuck alone in that cottage by himself. So you had spent the morning preparing him food. Even if he refused to have you over that way you'd know he would have the food to help him recover.
So you put on your hood, grabbed the basket of food, and headed out the door. You didn't worry about the dimming sky as you knew the trail and the full moon would light your way home if you were out too late.
You followed the dirt path into the woods as you had many times before, however, you stopped as you noticed a beautiful patch of flowers just a little off the path. Surely Doppio would appreciate them you thought as you stepped into the tall grass and made your way to them.
You began to pick them until the snap of a twig caught your attention. You turned your head to see Bruno, the local hunter. You knew him fairly well but that wasn't hard in a village like the one you lived in.
“(Y/n) What brings you out in the woods this late?” He asked you with concern in his voice.
“I'm off to deliver some food to Doppio, he's been unwell for the past few days” you explained.
“Then you should make haste, the full moon brings the worst of creatures out at night” he warned.
“I'll be fine” you assured him as you stood back up and made your way back to the path.
“Wait!” He yelled as he ran towards you.
“What?” You asked.
“Here, take this. If anything happens don't hesitate to use it” he said as he pulled out a small hunting dagger.
“And stay on the path, I just laid the rabbit traps” he warned.
“Thank you but I doubt I'll need it,” you told him.
“Just take it, if anything were to happen to you I'd only have myself to blame,” he told you as he put the dagger in your hand.
“Alright,” you sighed.
“Thank you” he thanked you before you both left your separate ways
At this point, the orange sky was apparent even in the thick forest.
You put the dagger and flowers in the basket. And made a sprint down the path. It was getting darker a lot quicker than you anticipated.
You ran deeper and deeper into the forest. So caught up in the hurry you hadn't noticed the person in front of you until you crashed into them. The impact caused you to fall to the ground while they remained unfazed.
“I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there” you apologized to them as you looked into the back to make sure everything inside was fine. Then you looked up to who you'd bumped into and your heart nearly gave out.
He was tall and broad with white hair and eyes you'd never seen before, red irises, and black sclera staring intensely at you.
“You answer my questions and I'll let you go” he coldly demanded.
“I doubt I know anything about whatever it is you're after,” you told him.
“I know you know something, I can smell it” he snarled. You crawled back but he only moved closer til your back was against a tree.
“Where's your partner?” He asked with grit teeth.
“Why do you want to know?” You retorted.
“He's caused me nothing but trouble lately, always getting in the way of my hunts. I haven't been able to see him but I know his scent and you're covered in it” he explained as he leaned down a little, pretty much caging you between him and the tree.
“You've got the wrong person, my partner doesn't hunt. He wouldn't hurt a fly” you tried to reason with him.
“You clearly don't know him well enough if you believe that” he snarkily replied.
He had a look in his eye that you didn't like. Like a wolf eyeing down its prey before the final blow.
“Actually… what would he do if something were to happen to you?” He continued.
This situation was getting worse by the second. You had to get away from him.
“I don't know anything, I'll give you money just please let me go” you plead as you reach into the basket for the knife Bruno had given you. You felt so stupid for insisting you'd be alright.
“I don't need money, perhaps you'd-” he was quickly cut off as you plunged the knife into his thigh. He didn't react. Instead, he pulled the knife out, wiped his blood off it on his pants, and put it back in your hand.
“Go home now, if you're still here at night you'll get killed,” he told you as he stepped away.
You quickly stood up and darted towards Doppio's house as it was probably too late to get to yours in time. Whoever that man was he was clearly not to be messed with but you wondered about his whole smell deal. There was no possible way he could have that strong of a sense of smell. Was he just lying to get the answer he wanted out of you?
You looked back to see if he'd followed you but it seems he hadn't. So you continued your way towards Doppio's house.
Once you arrived you knocked on the door but didn't get a response. You turned the door handle and it wasn't locked so you let yourself inside and put the basket on the dining table before heading towards his room.
“Doppio, it's me (Y/n). I know you told me not to come but I thought I'd at least bring you something to eat.
“(Y/n), you came?” A voice deep and strained spoke.
“Doppio you're voice, it sounds so hoarse” you commented.
“Yes I know… my throat is so raw… and swollen” he replied. You could hear his labored breathing as he spoke.
“And you sound out of breath, have you been resting?” You remarked.
“Yes I have been resting… but it feels like there's an anvil on my chest” he replied.
“That's horrible, I'm glad I came with food. You're probably struggling to do anything right now” you told him.
“Do you want me to bring you the soup I made? You've probably got two servings in the jar I brought” you asked.
“Yes… but first I want to see you” he said.
Feeling bad for him, you opened his bedroom door. You walked and couldn't see anything.
“Doppio it's so dark in here,” you remarked as you tried to make your way to his bedside in the darkness.
“My eyes have been hurting… so I closed the curtains” he explained.
“I'll open them now if you don't mind?” You said but then you were pushed onto the bed. Forced to lay on your stomach as a large hand? (It didn't feel exactly like one) pushed you down. This wasn't Doppio.
“Hey, what's the meaning of this? Let me go!” You screamed.
“aww so you're what Doppio's been trying to hide from me?” the same voice you'd assumed was Doppio's said.
“Who are you and what did you do to Doppio?” You demanded an answer from them.
“You don't have to worry your pretty head about Doppio, he's fine” they responded.
“And my name is Diavolo” he continued. You could feel their saliva dripping onto the back of your neck.
You attempted to thrash out of his grip before he pushed you further into the mattress. His free hand grabbed your wrist. It wasn't a hand, or a human at least it had padding and fur like an animal's.
“Let me go” you begged.
“Unfortunately I can't let that happen… you so happened to come right during mating season for us werewolves” he explained.
“You're lucky that the other one didn't take advantage of you earlier,” he commented.
Werewolves! You had scoffed at such a claim but it was undeniable now. You trashed again this time managing to escape. You bolted straight to the door. You turned back to see the brownish-pink werewolf chasing behind.
You opened the door threading to tear it off the hinges. Your blood went cold as you saw another werewolf at the door. Its fur is a snowy white. You noticed the wound in its thigh. Dear God, it was the man from earlier. You screamed and tried to find another exit but there wasn't.
You were trapped here with two werewolves right in the middle of their mating season. You were quickly snatched by Diavolo and held close. You cringed at the feeling of his erection pressed up your back but were too scared to even move.
“I'm ending this now, you've alluded me for far too long” the white werewolf spoke with a hiss.
“You really think you can beat me, you're lucky that you haven't died yet” Diavolo responded before he noticed the wound on his thigh.
“Aww did my little mate do that to you?” He mocked as he held the side of your head, his palm was as big as your head.
“Let go of me, I'm not your mate” you whined as you struggled. The white werewolf snarled in response as he charged forward.
You screamed once more as Diavolo dropped you and attacked. The two dug their claws and teeth into each other as they wrestled.
You watched them carefully. Waiting for a chance you could safely run to the door. They rolled into the kitchen, breaking the table in the process. You took your chance and sprinted towards the door only for one of them to grab your ankle, claws digging into you painfully. You fell to the ground, feeling the shock of the impact in your arms that had tried to break the fall. You screamed out in pain before turning back.
“Where do you think you're going?” The white werewolf growled as he dragged you closer. You realized that Diavolo had stopped attacking him.
“Let go of me!” You yelled as you tried to get him to let go.
Diavolo grabbed your arm and they pulled you back inside. Clearly you were a bigger priority than their feud.
“Please let me go” you pleaded. You were shaking at the thought of what they would do to you.
Then you were deafened by a gunshot, then a second as the werewolves fell back. You stood under and tried to leave only to bump into someone. You looked up to see Bruno who quickly wrapped his arm around you and yelled something. You couldn't hear him through the ringing in your ear.
He then took your hand and you ran with him. When the ring stopped you spoke.
“I'm sorry for disregarding your warning,” you told him.
“I don't think either of us were expecting to encounter werewolves” he replied.
“What were you even doing out this late?” You asked.
“I was checking the rabbit traps, then I heard screaming and that's how I found you” he explained.
You two ran until you arrived back at his home. He quickly sat you down before grabbing some alcohol and a cloth to clean the wound left on your leg.
“Again I have to thank you for saving me, if you hadn't killed them who knows what they would have done to me,” you said.
“I didn't kill them, only incapacitated them. The only way to kill them is to use silver” he explained as he began to dab the wet cloth on your wound, causing you to his in pain
“How did you even manage to live for as long as you did? They could have torn you apart in seconds” he asked. A shiver went down your spine as you remembered what Diavolo said.
“One of them… they mentioned this was werewolf mating season” his head shot up with a look of horror on his face.
“Oh no… “ he stood up, leaving the cloth hanging on your leg as he made his way to his bookshelf. He grabbed out a book and started flicking through it.
“There has to be something in here” he muttered as kept reading through.
“What are you looking for?” You asked nervously.
“A way to get rid of their scent, we may not be able to smell it but they can and they'll hunt you down” he explained.
“How do you know so much about werewolves, and why do you have books on them?” You asked.
“I like researching myths and folklore in my spare time. However, we've seen now that werewolves are no myth” he replied.
Well. Yandere Thranduil won't let the fairy reader continue her mission with the company and leave? (Most likely, if you go, he won't let fairy reader fight in the war of five armies. Isn't that right?
Tumblr media
YANDERE THRANDUIL X FAIRY READER QUESTION
🪽he isn’t going to let you leave at ALL. You can try you really can but you aren’t getting anywhere .
🪽your not fighting and he is PREPARED for your outbursts and will to fight so his simple task to stop you from fighting and leaving is …
🪽cutting off your wings and not letting healers tend to them until after the war . Just to make sure you don’t leave .
🪽it sounds brutal but that’s how far he is willing to keep you safe .
Thank you for the question ❤️❤️
red roses.
AN; in my head theres a fantasy land where all the yans are doing their shit and peter is a procurer I HOPE I USED THE RIGHT WORD THO, ENSLISH HARD
Pairing; "Peter" (Your boyfriend) x GN!reader
CW; nothing, this is just a harmless fairytale
Tumblr media
Have you ever heard the story of a man who exchanged beautiful roses for beautiful things?
Peter was an unknown name in that world, he did not exist, however the bearer of his body was a famous man, the so-called Procurer of Roses, someone charismatic, flirtatious and self-confident.
He traveled the world with undefined purposes, there was simply something running through his head when he arrived at a new place.
“Look for Roses”
He found the most beautiful roses that everyone could have seen, white, yellow, pink, violet, green, blue, orange, he knew their meaning but he thought that they had bothered him.
The roses, having a new bearer, showed him the happiest memory of him and exhaled a sweet aroma, people claimed that it was the aroma of love, but the roses never allowed him any of that.
The Rose Procurer traveled to a new country, finally asking himself “If roses take root, why can't I?”
His question disappeared as quickly as it arrived thanks to an intense crimson coming from a place where the earth was blue.
It was a rose, a red rose, its thorns hurt the pale hands of the bearer to create rivers the color of his petals. A glorious mess with glossy lips, would they be as soft as they look?
The man held his backpack of treasures tightly, now it seemed that he lost all his value, he wanted that rose and would exchange his entire backpack for it.
He walked towards the unknown person, listening to the sobs and blood on their hands, rivers of honey running down their sweet cheeks, finally recognizing that they were just a doll, a ventriloquist's dummy.
— "Who are you?"
The procurer asked.
— "I don't remember"
Answered the man who was carrying a backpack with infinite capacity.
They both decided to face each other, Peter had returned, the flirty and calm Procurer was nowhere to be seen, just a nervous boy, but that did not stop him from asking for the beautiful flower.
— “What do you want in exchange for that rose?” — "A kiss"
And that's how two creatures without clear intentions connected for a moment and left knowing their way. Peter left that place with a cloying aroma stinging his nose, honey? lavender? vanilla? mint? Whatever it was, his first kiss was replayed over and over again in his head.
They did not see each other again until much later, the doll with the beret and ruffle skirt in front of the boy with backpack of infinite capacity, which was full of roses, especially red ones.
The ventriloquist dummy also carried a basket of roses.
So they had decided to spend their eternity together, exchanging those sweet flowers for magical moments.
Although they are hasty when looking at each other.
Even if they were ephemeral when touching each other.
They knew how to create eternities when kissing.
