Birthday Jacket Interview - Quinn

Today's date, April 4th, marked a special occasion. The birthday of a certain individual named Quinn. Said birthday fella was standing in Ramshackle's lounge, swinging back and forth on their heels with their hands in the pockets of the jacket given to them for this special occasion. The outfit was rather comfy, they had to admit. As for the lounge, it was decorated with streamers and balloons, a sign with the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! hanging on a rather large window. On the table were baked sweets, courtesy of the dorm's prefect who had currently left them alone.

"Ah, it's finally my birthday." They acknowledged with a smile before pursing their lips and rubbing their hand absentmindedly. "Hm. Nicole said that I'd get a birthday interview by one of the students here. I wonder who it's gonna be though."

"Happy birthday, Quinn!" As if on que, a certain bat fae popped up upside down infront of them with a friendly smile as if he wasn't trying to scare the living daylights out of them. Which he succeeded in doing.

"AHHH!!" With a startled screech, Quinn instinctively aimed their fist to punch him. Fortunately, Lilia's reflexes were fast and he was able to block their punch on time. Quickly realizing who it was, they pulled their hand back, putting it on their hip. "Lilia? You're the one who's gonna be interviewin' me?"

"Fufufu. Your reactions never fail to amuse me." He admitted with an amused chuckle. "Yes, I'm going to be the one interviewing you on your special day. But first..." He disappeared for a split second before appearing on the floor, handing them what appeared to be a jewelry box. "What kind of friend would I be if I didn't bring you a gift?"

Their expression turned into an interested one as they took the box from him. Curiosity taking the better of them, they opened the lid to see a small silver chain, a single bat shaped pendant attached to it, the black jewels it was filled with glistening in the light. Their emerald eyes widened in surprise, sparkling with amazement.

"I noticed that you sometimes wear a pair of bat earrings among other accessories you change daily and I thought it would be nice to give you something to go along with them. Seems like I was right on the money based on your reaction." Lilia explained, chuckling at their expression.

"Huh. Honestly, I ain't surprised you noticed that." Quinn admitted, chuckling. "Thanks though. I was actually savin' thaumarks on getting it, so your gesture is much appreciated." Then they walked to the table and put the box there before going back to the old fae.

"Oh, I'm glad I could be of help then. Even though it was unintentional." Lilia smiled, crossing his arms. "Now, are you ready to start the interview?"

They nodded rather eagerly. "Yessir! Bring me them questions!"

He chuckled at their excitement before asking the first question. "Alright. First question. If you could bring someone with you on a deserted island, who would it be? However, it can't be someone from your dorm."

"Deserted island, huh...?" They mumbled, fidgeting with the jacket's buttons thoughtfully, taking their sweet time to think of the answer. Good thing the bat fae was a patient individual. After a minute, they replied. "Hm... I'd probably bring you if I'm being honest."

"Oh?" He seemed intrigued by the answer, putting a hand on his chin as the other was tucked underneath his elbow. "And why is that?"

"Well, you just give me those vibes that you have great survival skills. And I trust you're gonna make sure neither of us fucks up. You can probably use your magic to teleport us back here, but if whatever reason you can't, maybe you didn't have your magestone or something and we know how dangerous that can be, I imagine Hornton sending a search party for us." Quinn explained, fidgeting with the bowtie on their outfit. Malleus, Lilia, Silver and Sebek were close like a family in Quinn's eyes. If there was one thing they learned, it was that family shouldn't turn their backs on each other.

"Hmm..." Lilia hummed in thought. "I'll admit those are some pretty valid points." He said before deciding to move on. "Anyway, next question. If you could transfer to any other dorm, which would it be?"

"An interesting question, I'll admit." They pursed their lips, their hand resting on their waist. "I'd say..." they trailed off, fingers tapping against their hip. "Probably Savanaclaw. And not only because their courtyard has enough space to let me practice my acrobatics without worrying about breaking anything. Except for my equipment or bones."

"Savanaclaw, huh? You answered that one faster than the last one." He noticed, chuckling. "Honestly, I can see you being in said dorm. You're quite the persistent individual and know how to put those territorial beastmen in their place."

"Damn right." Quinn replied in a sassy manner, nodding.

Lilia chuckled before his lips formed a mischievous smile. "Now, do you know what's coming?"

Luckily for Quinn, Nicole was considerate enough to tell them everything that was gonna go down in the interview. So, they were aware of what was coming after the questions. "The gift of good fortune?" They guessed, knowing they were right.

"Khee he he~ That's right!" He snickered as a paper plate with pink cream appeared in his hand. "Now, don't try to dodge or else your year is gonna be pretty unfortunate~" Lilia warned with a mischievous smirk and a playful glint in his wine red eyes before aiming to throw the cream at them.

While Quinn couldn't dodge, they could at least try to shield their face and hair. As Lilia threw the plate, they were quick to bring their arms up, making the cream stain the sleeves of the jacket, some of it managing to get on their chest.

As the title said, I've been wanting to assign some Vocaloid songs for the twst characters as there are quite a lot of songs that specifically fit them! I'll include some lyrics part as of why I think it fits along with a small analysis + song link! I'm letting my Vocaloid braincells taking over this time hehe 🌹❤️

Riddle: Bitter Choco Decoration

Pretty self-explanatory from the lyrics if you remember Riddle’s backstory with his strict, controlling mother. His entire life up until he became a student has been under his mom’s influence and it ended up him being too strict even to himself and his emotions - just like the meaning of the song too.

Ace: Lost One’s Weeping

Being a rebellious person, I’m thinking this song fits Ace the most as it’s about questioning the flawed system, questioning one’s being and purpose and that if we have to keep living under some sort of authority for the rest of our life. As you can already see how he acts in Book 1 towards Riddle - defying authority, questioning it, and being rebellious about it.

“Can you say the formula for area ratio? Can you say the dreams of your childhood? Who threw those dreams in a ditch? Hey, who was it? You know who it was! When are you going to grow up!? What is a grown-up anyway? Do you know who has the answers? Hey, what should I do? I don't care anymore!”

Deuce: RAD DOGS

I picked this song for Deuce because of the lyrics, but also the beat and the meaning. The strong, powerful beat with the fast rap part really fit him don’t you think? The lyrics speaks of the struggle of going against the grain and choosing a life of freedom, although it comes with an effort and the ability to face everything life throws at us. We need to take a leap of faith and not settle for anything less than what we truly want, emphasizes the importance of taking a risk and restarting, not worrying about the reason or justifications for doing so, just like how Deuce acts in general with his goal and dream.

Trey gives me a melancholic, casual and mature vibe, like an older brother who you can depend on anytime and he would give you his usual smile. That’s why I picked this song for him, although he always helps out everyone but I feel like he can be lonely sometimes, like perhaps he would need a helping hand or maybe some support. When I read the lyrics I think of him! I want to interpret it as Heartslabyul to Trey, who’s been always working hard for the dorm, and it’s the message that he might want to hear the most!

(With a smile) But even if it's hard, you hide the pain away, (Want to meet you) and without showing it, you just laughed." "I always want to smile, after all. Cater: Phony

I know it might sound like it doesn’t fit him but in my opinion, this song sums up Cater as a character. We haven’t seen much of him in actual depth, but I definitely think he has more than he just appears. This song talks about how a person can mask and deceive themselves in lies, they’re aware of it, but they have to put it up in order to meet societal expectations. A constructed image or persona - the “fake” that they created and now they struggle to reconcile with their true self, and I think he is like that as well. (Aniplex please more Cater content for us we're waiting-)

Leona: Meltdown

The song is about one wanting to disappear, wanting to kill their old self and erase everything as if it’s like falling asleep. Though I think this song can be interpreted as having depression - and from what we see going on with Leona, I feel like he does show signs of it, I wish they would dive deeper into his story in Book 2 though! Other than that, I feel like the lyrics in here suit him a lot, especially the “sleep” part in the lyrics.

Jack: Night Sky Patrol of Tomorrow

I think this song fits Jack a lot, the vibe is definitely for him but also the lyrics as well. The headstrong vibe, full of uncertainty but also full of hope for tomorrow, despite feeling hopeless at times but what is important is never give up and head forward to the future. The song’s meaning is to convey resilience, independence, and the importance of cherishing the present moment even when you’re uncertain about some things. You could also take this as a JackMC song haha, It just fits him a lot imo!

This song fits Ruggie a lot in terms of lyrics, with numerous mentions of rags and junk and collecting them together to the longing of being your own self instead of being in someone else’s shadow and chasing after them. The singer compares themselves to a piece of junk or trash as they think of themselves lowly, just like Ruggie himself. The mention of moonlight here represents the singer’s ideal that they always chase after, like Ruggie’s life goal. Overall, the vibe of the song fit him a lot! (I recommend checking out the Vivid Bad Squad version too!)

Azul: Delusion Tax

In my opinion, this is the most fitting song I could think of for Azul. As said in the lyrics, we all have desires of our own, and the person (or in this case Miku) in this song is a genie that can grant any wishes, but in the end everything come with a price, anyone who make a wish with her will have to sell a part of themselves. Sounds just like Azul and his contracts don’t you think? But you can also think this reflects Azul’s own desires once you know his backstory too! (and also, check out this amazing art by my bestie! Her art is amazing!!)

I feel like the song is pretty self-explanatory, as you can see with the lyrics. It just fits Jade’s job and his approach to the “targets” and lure them into signing a contract with Azul, but it’s probably just more than the said goal… But you can never tell with that smile of his as his “kind” words accompany his looks. Until you realized you fell into the trap and become one of Azul’s underlings due to the contract (at least, until post-Book 3, but who knows)

According to the wiki “Most of the lyrics are nonsensically vague or ridiculous, with a slight hint of pain or sadness, giving the overall song a crazy and psychotic feeling. Therefore, the lyrics have been interpreted in various ways.” Just like the moody guy himself, don’t you think?

Hi, I just found your posts of the OT3 like a day or two ago, and now I keep having so many ideas!

These are two that have been living in my head rent free!

1) The idea of Silver realizing that no matter what happens, his parents legit have at least a bit crazier life than him. One of his dad is a Fae General who was at war against humans and fell in love with a human and got married to said human and has a bromance with his enemy. Said enemy was a knight fighting in a war against the fae only to end up in a marriage with one. His mom (who is a magicless human) traveled to a different world (twst), became friends with all these powerful people, ended up defeating so many overblots, went to the past where she met his dads, got married to them and had him, only to return back to the future to continue her schooling while being younger than her son. And anything that happens in NRC will not only affect him but also 2 of his parents seeing as they are also students there.

2) Interactions between the first years after this whole thing! Let's be honest, even if we are married and have a kid, we are still a part of the braincell trio and the first year gang. We are still going to be getting into random problems with them, Sebek will get used to the whole situation and return to normal, and we will continue doing crazy things. I need to see the others' reactions, including the our lovely sister-in-law.

Also, I was wondering if I could go by 📚🖤☠️ anon?

Sebek being part of the first year group is a whole new chaos for him, not only does he have to make friends with humans but he also has to watch out for you. But Sebek also makes his fair share of problems too so he can’t talk 🤣🤣

And of course, the natural chaos that is NRC is always there and then you add in the Draconia family too.

But everyone is happy, thriving, and loved; and that’s what matters at the end of the day.

Looking at all the twst dreams on your page popping up on my fyp reminds of this dream I had where I was royalty and I was forced to pick a suitor, two of which happened to be Jade and Floyd. I felt really awkward about the whole thing so to take some tension away from the situation I held this pool party with all my suitors to get our minds off the arranged engagement. I remember we started playing Marco Polo and Floyd pulling me under the water and kissing me, then all of a sudden I was 1/2

You don't really want to be in this situation, but it can't exactly be helped...

You see, your kingdom... isn't in the best of states. And well, things are only going to get worse if you don't marry someone from a powerful family.

"Hey, (Y/N), they're here." One of your attendants, Ace, said peeking his head through your door. "They, as in the uh, guys you're gonna marry. Your, um, suitors. One's getting really impatient, you'd better get out here."

"Yeah, yeah, let them know I'll be out soon..." You said.

"Will do!" Ace winked. "Oh! And apparently, two of them are identical twins! It's really freaky."

You know that in the grand scheme of things, your problem of choosing a suitor is pretty insignificant, but you're really stressed right now...

"Ah! Hi (Y/N), follow me!" Deuce (another one of your attendants) said to you, waving. "Come on, you have... I think eight potential suitors waiting for you? I'm not sure. We'll find out when we get there!"

"Eight? That's... more than I was expecting..." You said to yourself.

"Apparently it's actually less than we were expecting." Deuce whispered to you. "Just between you and me, who are you thinking of choosing to marry?"

"I have no idea, Deuce, I haven't even met them yet." You said to him.

"Yeah, I guess you have a point." Deuce jokingly asked. "It's sad you have to do this, but look on the bright side! It's for the greater good of our country, right? Oh! Uh! We should get going, shouldn't we?"

"Y-yes, let's get going..."

Your potential suitors were... not too interesting.

Except for that strange pair of twins... but for whatever reason, you didn't exactly feel like you could trust them...

"Hey, (Y/N), you chosen someone yet?" Ace asked you that night, handing you a plate of food. "Though, if I'm being honest, none of them really look your type."

"This is all too stressful and awkward..." You said. "How am I supposed to marry one of these people when I don't know anything about them aside from their names?"

"Well, you have a few days to choose one, don't you?" Ace asked. "You can get to know them in that time. Maybe hold some kind of event to get to know them? Like speed-dating or something."

"That's a good idea." You admitted. "And maybe... maybe it can help relieve tension! I'm sure the other suitors feel the same, I bet they're all feeling awkward about this too... yeah! That'll help put everyone's minds off this whole thing!"

"Oh? You got an idea?"

"We'll have a pool party tomorrow!" You excitedly declared.

"Ooh! That is a good idea!" Ace said to you, smiling. "I'll get someone to clean out the pool and have it decorated for tomorrow!"

Tomorrow is sure to be a wonderful day!

The next day, you were delighted to show your suitors to the pool.

"Today, we're all just going to relax, understand? So like... you aren't all competing to marry me today. Today, we're all just... we're all friends today!"

Everyone looked like they understood..

Yep, looks like today's going to be great!

"Oh! You have a pool? Nice." One of the teal haired twins asked you. "Is it saltwater?"

"Yes, actually!" You responded.

"Oh, cool." He said, a distant-looking smile on his face. "My name's Floyd, by the way. But you knew that already. Since we're engaged and all that-"

"We're not engaged yet." You told him.

"Ehe... you're really short, you know that?" Floyd asked. "I can tell you're gonna choose me."

"Right, well, as I said, we're just relaxing today, s-so no talking about the whole marriage thing, got it...?" You asked.

"Yeah yeah, I got it..." He rolled his eyes jokingly. "Well I guess let's get in the pool!"

...that's right. Everyone's supposed to be relaxing. You included.

Eventually, somebody suggested that everyone should play marco polo! How fun!

With your eyes shut, you blindly stumbled around the pool, shouting out "Marco" every now and again to try and find where everyone was to hopefully tag one of them and have them take your place of blindly walking around.

Then, you heard someone whisper "Polo" right in your ear.

Then, you were pulled under the water and- are they kissing you? This is the exact thing you were trying to take your mind off of!

You opened your eyes to see who it was, and...

It was... Floyd?!

You pushed him away from you and stood up, coughing up the water you'd gotten in your nose and mouth.

"What the HELL, Floyd?!" You yelled out in anger. He just smirked and shrugged.

From there, everything went downhill.

It seems everybody assumed that him kissing you symbolized that the marriage competition was back on.

As everyone started fighting with each other, you silently got out of the pool, and decided to go back inside. Nobody even noticed you leave.

"Well, (Y/N), today didn't go well, but... you know, I'm sure tomorrow will be better!" Deuce told you. "Hey! Apparently you're gonna be doing some ballroom dancing tomorrow! Doesn't that sound fun?"

"No. Not with what happened today." You said.

"I'm sure that whatever happens tomorrow, it won't be worse than today!"

Deuce was wrong with that statement. Oh, he was so wrong.

"Ah, (Y/N)." One of the two Leech twins greeted you as you entered the ballroom. You couldn't tell which one it was, they were nearly completely identical and you didn't know how to tell them apart yet.

"Hello, um..."

"Jade. Jade Leech." He looked amused. "I just wanted to let you know that I deeply apologize for my brother's actions yesterday. What he did was entirely inappropriate, especially considering you had specifically told him and everyone else that the competition for your hand was off for that day."

"At least one of you has common sense." You sighed.

"May I have this dance, your highness~?"

You grabbed Jade's hand and he immediately pulled you into a dance.

You two danced the waltz together. Strangely enough, you found yourself calming down.

Jade is a nice man, but... again, there's something just off-putting about him and his brother. You're definitely not going to marry him, but at least he's nice.

"By the way, (Y/N), I made you a drink, it's just over there if you want it." Jade told you, pointing over to a table near the wall. "And you needn't worry. It's not poisoned, I promise you."

"I... didn't think it was...?"

"Yes, well, your servants thought it was." Jade snickered to himself. "They've tested it for you. And their test proved it was not. I'm aware this may make it sound suspicious. but... you trust me, don't you?"

When the dance finished, you remembered that Jade made you a drink. It's been tested for poison, apparently, and it looks delicious...

What's the harm?

The drink, whatever it was, tasted so... interesting. It was like seven different kinds of fruit, but it didn't taste bad, or anything... it was amazing! You should absolutely compliment him the next time you see him!

For some reason, that night, you went to bed with a terrible stomachache.

When you woke up the next morning, you could tell something was absolutely not right.

"Rise and shine, your highness!" Deuce said, entering your room and opening your window's curtains.

"Wakey-wakey! We made breakfast for ya!" Ace happily said, putting a plate of food on your bedside table.

"Um... (Y/N)? Are you ok?" Deuce asked. "You don't look well at all..."

"Yeah, now that Deucey mentions it... you're not looking too hot. You feeling ok?"

Then, out of nowhere, you threw up on your bedsheets.

Except... it wasn't vomit that had came out of your mouth. It was blood.

"(Y/N)?!"

"What just happened?! A-are you ok?!"

"You bloody idiot, of course they aren't ok! They were clearly poisoned, Deuce!"

"I'm panicking! What else do you expect me to ask?! Who did this to you?!"

"YES!"

"How are they supposed to know who specifically poisoned them?!"

"I don't know, but it'd be better than asking 'ArE yOu Ok?!?!', dumbass!!"

"Whatever! We need to go find someone to help them!"

"Yeah, you're right, but still!" Ace sighed. "(Y/N), we'll be right back with someone who knows what to do in this situation, ok?!"

As soon as those two left, another two people entered your room.

"Heeeeey, (Y/N)~!"

"Greetings. Did you enjoy the drink I made you last night?"

It was the two identical twin sons of the Leech family.

"...you did this to me...!" You said, realizing exactly what Jade was insinuating.

"Yes, yes I did..." Jade gave you a fake sad face. "It was the only way I could think of to get you to choose me."

"W-why would I choose you to marry if you... poisoned me?" You asked.

"Oh poor dear. You don't understand, do you?" Jade asked. "You see, it's a slow-acting poison unique to where I live. And that means only I can cure you."

"We're going to share ya! Of course you'll be married to Jade, but he's already said he'd be fine with it!!" Floyd gave a toothy grin.

"It's true. So you don't even have to choose between the two of us!"

"Why would I ever choose to marry you?!" You asked, before throwing up blood once more.

"Why, it's quite simple, (Y/N)." Jade chuckled to himself. "It's because I know how to make the antidote to that unique poison... and if you don't marry me, well..." Jade had one of the most terrifying smiles you've ever seen. "Then I will simply leave you to die here!"

...

What other choice do you have in this scenario?!

"F-fine, Jade, I'll... I'll marry you!" You started tearing up.

"Perfect. I would've hated to have you vomit up your guts as you writhed on the floor in agony."

"That's a lie and you know it, Jade. You would've thought it was hilarious." Floyd added.

"That was uncalled for, Floyd. Even though it might be true."

Wow. You're being forced into a marriage- well, you were already being forced to marry someone, but this is basically blackmail...

Oh well.

About the Digimons partners for the TWST cast. Vil would definitely either have a Splashmon or Lilithmon, since both are Digimons obsessed with beauty and poison.

Adeuce would probably have Digimons that usually seen in pairs, eg Agumon & Gabumon, Black/White Pawn Chessmon or Terriermon & Lopmon.

Just for fun, a Black Tailmon Uver and Pistmon living in Ramshackle. They just send stuffs across the campus, either form Mostro Lounge or Mr S's Shop. They accept no requests from Crowley however.

Thank you Anon for this particular ask, it made me think about the AU and hopefully these satisfy your suggestions.

Warning: This post is really long and has some light swearing at the end.

(A/N: This AU is still a work in progress, for the most part anyway, so some of these answers may change as I continue writing for this AU.)

1: Vil’s digimon partner

I was going to go with Splashmon with this one, because in its wiki article it talks about how its obsession with beauty and how the drippins they create is like their own poison

But the more I think about it, Lilithmon also makes sense

Lilithmon is based on Lilith, from what I can tell from research Lilith is seen as a queen of hell which kind of fits for Vil for being based on the Evil Queen

Both are very beautiful

Lilithmon’s poison and powerful magic also fits well with Vil being a surprisingly strong mage and how he became his dorm’s leader for brewing the deadliest poison out of the whole dorm

Plus according to religious text, lust comes in the form of a great desire, let it be intimate or not, and I would say his desire to become more popular the Neige is pretty intense (*cough* Pomefiore chapter *cough*)

Also because of the backstory I gave Baal!Yuu, I imagine things may become, angsty when they and this Lilithmon met for the first time

To put it simply, Baal!Yuu had encountered a few of the Seven Demon Lords on their travel and most of the encounters were either that a demon lord tried to convince them to join their forces or a murder attempt that Baal!Yuu barely avoided, the demon lord of lust being the one they usually encounter ( to this day Baal!Yuu does not know why )

So even though this Lilithmon may not be the Lilithmon that is apart of the Great Seven Demon Lords, but Baal!Yuu may not realize that and things start off a little tense

They do make up and become fast friends, mostly bonding over the fact that they are both compared to the demon lords of their digital world and how both of them hate it

2: Ace and Deuce's partners

Yeah both of them would have Digimon that are usually paired with each other

The only thing is I can’t decide which between two ideas I had

One is where they have an Agumon and Gabumon since they are the most popularly paired digimon and also because the Braincell Duo might as well be Tai and Matt

The other option is Agumon (2006) and Gaomon because I also get reminded of Ace and Deuce when Marcus and Thomas start fighting and I like the idea of Deuce having a Gaomon since they are both good fist fighters

Also, whatever their partners are, they get along more than the Braincell Duo and often act as mediators whenever their partners end up bickering

3: The Local Delivery Duo

Pistmon Characterization: A loud digimon who comes off as the more social of the two. They love going racing around when not making deliveries, making new friends, and have a bad habit of talking so fast that no one can understand them

Black Tailmon Uver Characterization: A strong silent type yet always willing to lend a hand. They are very helpful and always willing to lend an ear to anyone's problems. (Not that Pistmon wouldn't do the same but Uver tends to notice things more easily.)

With that out of the way, here's how the two got to NRC

It happened unexpectedly nearing closing time, Sam was managing his store while Baal!Yuu was shopping for Grim’s tuna addiction until a loud crash was heard

When the two went to investigate they saw Pistmon and Black Tailmon Uver sprawled on the ground, covered in bruises, and near the tree in front of the Mystery Shop

While getting patched up, Pistmon told them that they were a courier duo that deliver across the Real and Digital world

When they were heading back to the Digital World they were attacked by some very territorial digimon, while escaping they got caught up in what they assumed to be normal fog until they found themselves in the woods

Confused, Pistmon wasn’t paying attention trying to figure out where they were and only noticed the tree when their delivery partner pointed out the tree they were heading into

Baal!Yuu is definitely curious about this since both of them would count as the 6th and 7th digimon that somehow arrived in Twisted Wonderland not counting themselves

After they get healed up, the two of them offered to pay Sam and Baal!Yuu back by delivering anything they need to across the campus and dorms

Eventually word got around school about the duo and now they both run a delivery service that delivers from the Mostro Lounge and the Mystery Shop to anywhere on campus

Both of them have taken residence at Ramshackle, however it seems Black Tailmon Uver has taken to staying at a certain introverts room when their last delivery is at their dorm

The two have a grudge against Crowley after they hear about Baal!Yuu’s situation and why some of the students are a bit... troubled to say the least

Especially after the Scarabia event

Crowley now has to ask one of the other staff to order for him or continue submitting anonymous letters with his delivery request until he actually helps improve their roommates’ home and find way to get all the digimon home damn’it

Both also start thinking about making disguises to go around making paid deliveries around Sage’s Island to help pay for a counselor since it seems to be lacking one, Crowley

I Rank TWST Characters Based on Whether or Not I Find Them Physically Attractive or Not (Not Clickbait)

Eventually I’ll collect the braincells to finish one of my many x reader fic drafts and post it. But for now, watch me shallowly judge TWST characters and rank them based on my own specific tastes. Yes, you are free to judge and share your own thoughts. I love being told I’m wrong.~ uwu

All characters are 18+

Explanations under the read more. Yes, there is a method to my madness.

‘Cause the tier list didn’t include them, Neige is in Tier 5 and Che’nya is in Tier 4.

And good lord I ended up rambling way more then intended. I should have just said I find them pretty or ugly and called it a day. Guess that single exhausted braincell really was working overtime for this.

Tier 1 - My Own Personal Tastes

Says it right there on the tin. The loves of my life jk jk

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start with these? I just find these boys really pretty and attractive... I tend to lean towards males with longer hair (Jamil & Idia) and animalistic traits like sharp teeth or ears (Jack, Idia, & Jade). I especially love Jade and Idia’s smiles, both are so creepy, but I’m the weirdo that’s into that. I also have a thing for body marks like freckles and moles (Azul) and actually find some short guys to be cute (Riddle). There’s also the elephant in the room that is my monster lover self that’s into a wide range of non-human creatures; Jack being a wolf beastman, Jade being an eel mermaid, Azul being a cecaelia, and even Jamil having serpent traits and Idia being not entirely human what with his Hades-inspired undead aesthetic.

Most of it just boils down to aesthetics in their design and the fact that most of them, aside for Riddle, has some kind of in-human quality to them. There are other factors at play, but those are the main ones.

Tier 2 - They’re Attractive, But Lack Spice

Basically, I also find them to be very attractive, but they don’t quite hit those specific tastes when it comes to their overall design. Usually it’s because they either lack something or a certain trait throws off the whole design for me. Like Kalim sharing many traits I like in Jamil, but having other traits that hold him back (having shorter hair, having too much going on with his design, having a more childish demeanor, etc.). Epel is very pretty in a superficial way, and I’ve always loved characters with lavender hair, but he looks too young at times and is working on becoming more manly, which will ruin his more delicate features in my opinion.

Silver is like an older version of Epel, but with silver hair and a knightly aesthetic, but he also always looks to angry, which makes him unapproachable. Ruggie is pretty cute to me with a roughish edge (and I just want to pet his adorable ears, please), but I can’t get past how malnourished his design makes him look sometimes due to the oversized clothes. Sebek has a very unique design, being half-human, half-fae, but similar to Silver, he usually looks so angry and stern. He has a beautifully mirthful smile and I just wish they’d show off his chompers more!

Tier 3 - They Have Their Moments

They’re only attractive in very specific instances that usually heighten certain physical traits of theirs. This can include a wardrobe change, a certain facial expression, a scenario, etc. I don’t quite find them attractive on their own, but rather, only when it’s in tandem with something else. Malleus looked best in the trailer for the game when he’s floating out of his coffin. He looked dark, mysterious, yet dangerously alluring. But in game, he kind of resembles a rat, what with his weird mullet hair. Rook and Floyd both pull off the dangerous predatory, yet attractive vibe, but ultimately are only portrayed as quirkily scary in the game (i.e. they kind of look like creeps/psychos). Lilia has his whole Gothic punk thing going on, which is fine, especially when he acts more wild and playful. However, I kind of wish he had a “true form” where he actually looked older/was taller, instead of looking younger than the rest of the cast. Yeah, it’s funny in theory, but doesn’t give him much attractive points.

Tier 4 - Average Joe

On a surface level, they would be considered attractive to some, but ultimately don’t have anything that really separates them from others. For me, it’s that one or two traits ended up holding them back from breaking the mold, or they have traits that tend to be overused and thus, makes me feel like I’ve seen them before in other characters.

If Leona was darker skinned and his overall design really leaned into the feral lion look, he would be higher. If Divus had more canine-features like fangs or something, he’d be higher. Deuce looks like a generic anime protagonist, but a good color scheme going. Che’nya is just another Disney cheshire neko boy with a quirky design. Sam needs a rework on his color scheme and should have more skull face paint (yes, even more so than the original JPN ver.) And as for Vil, I really think they should have given him a different hairstyle. I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand his hair color and style. It reminds me of an onion.

Tier 5 - Not My Thing, but They’re Not Ugly

I don’t find them ugly, but I really do not care for how they look. Nothing about their designs are appealing to me in that way, but I can see why others would. Cater, Ace, and Trey don’t have anything with their design that stands out to me. The closest thing was Ace’s Ghost Wedding attire and slicked back hair, but it was only a one time thing, hence why he’s not in Tier 3. As for Prof. Trein, for an older gentleman, he still looks fairly good. He has a refined look to him and is well kempt, but I’m not into older dude’s like that, so no. Neige is cute and definitely captures Snow White’s vibe, but his outfit is just all over the place to me and contrast so much.

Tier 6 - ew

They’re just ugly. I’m sorry, but they’re just so unappealing to me why do some people find them attractive I just-?! Crowley is so weird looking to me, which is disappointing ‘cause I love bird-related designs and he had the potential but ended up looking like an unkempt, Gothic carnival reject, instead! Yes, I’ve seen the fanart with his mask off and I still find him unattractive. As for Vargas, I’ve just never been into the muscley type of men with the strong chiseled face.

Other

Grim and Lucius are literal cats and and I can’t see Ortho as anything but a little brother (yes, I’m aware he’s around the 1st years age). He probably would fit under Tier 2 if he wasn’t so baby.

OF COURSE! I'm excited too as you'll see in the essay that's about to follow 😅

As for the naming of the Main Story, TWST formats each dorm into Books/Episodes (i.e. the manga volumes are titled Episode of [Dorm]), and they release it by parts instead of all at once, so they go by chapters. So it just means Part 1 of Episode 7 (Diasomnia) with subsequent parts coming out a few weeks later!

also I think that someone on the twst team has mentioned before that Book 7 is not the end of the Main Story, so it's almost guaranteed that we'll get more characters in the future!

okay now a disclaimer: none of this is confirmed, this is just what my 3 braincells have come up with during the years of waiting for the actual Book to come out. I'm just getting this out there before the plot proves me completely wrong

Short version.

My theories on Diasomnia basically go like this: Silver is a hero-aligned character + He has a curse -> Lilia knows this and will try to break it even if it costs his own safety because hey that's his son -> Malleus will panic at the idea of losing the people he loves -> Overblot

Long version.

• Silver is a hero-aligned character: he's one of three light magic users alongside Rook and Kalim, who are based on the "good guys" of their respective movies. The symbol used to represent him in-game is a sword that looks like the one used to slain Maleficent. He also has similarities to Princess Aurora (attracting animals, being raised in the forest by fae.) As we have seen before, all the hero-aligned characters had a part in causing the overblots in their respective chapters because they followed the same path as their movie counterparts (the Sultan being controlled by Jafar, the Huntsman's betrayal to the Queen.)

However, the relationship between Silver and Malleus doesn't seem like it's bound to go sour at any moment, and it's far closer to the bond shared by their "Maleficent" counterparts rather than the animated "Sleeping Beauty." How could Silver cause the overblot? Read further down

• Silver is cursed: If we take a look at Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent cursed Aurora as a newborn and she had to be raised by the fairies so she could be safe while growing up. What we know about Silver so far is that 1. Lilia found him as a baby and decided to adopt him & 2. He suffers from some ailment that causes him to fall sleep all the time against his will.

Since the characters themselves do not have an explanation to this behavior (so far) it is likely that Silver was already under the effects of a curse when he was found and Lilia is aware of it (which might be why he decided to keep a human child in the middle of a forest instead of trying to give him to a human village.)

And thus, he might have been looking for a cure all this time (could be why he travelled so much leaving Silver on his own so often) and he found it recently maybe? And it somehow involves his own safety in exchange for Silver's, thus the cryptic conversation with Malleus back in Book 6 which originated those "Lilia is dying" theories. (He's part of the gacha pool, that man is NOT dying anytime soon dw.)

I concluded this from "Maleficent" and how the cure to Aurora's curse was the True Love's kiss, but instead of it coming from the Prince, the kiss that worked was from Maleficent herself since she came to feel a maternal love for Aurora after watching her grow up...So if Silver = Aurora then Lilia as his father could be part of the cure.

• What the curse entails (possibly): the sleepiness, a limited-time left to live if it's not broken soon, and the dreams themselves. However I do not have an answer as to who could've placed the curse...if there is a curse, it must be related to his identity before being adopted by Lilia

• Silver has seen Yuu in dreams: In the last part of chapter 6, Mickey recounts seeing a boy with silver hair and aurora coloured eyes in the dream room while Yuu was away. And while Mickey wasn't able to talk to him at the time, this still means that Silver is -so far- the only character capable of accessing the same dream room as Yuu and Mickey. Since (iirc) Mickey and Yuu have concluded that they are in different realms and that their only means of connection is through dreams, it's not too farfetched to believe that Silver might have seen MC in his dreams prior to them getting isekai'd into Twisted Wonderland at least once.

There's also Silver's line in one of the earlier PVs some time ago: "How strange, I feel as if I've met you before." Since he's known all of the Diasomnia boys pretty much all his life, this line has to be meant for MC. It was easy to brush it off as a simple reference to the "Once Upon a Dream" song before the reveal of the dream realm, but now I will firmly believe that there's a connection there until Chapter 7 comes out and disproves it.

There's still no explanation as to why MC has those strange dreams either, so this is the perfect moment for it.

• Malleus' overblot: from what we learned from Idia's ramblings about overblots previously, it seems that long term emotional distress is to blame for the OBs as much as the overuse of magic. And it just so happens that pretty much every single piece of information about Malleus we have confirms that he has been lonely most of his life, leaving him afraid of losing those whom he cares about. Namely the Diasomnia boys and now Yuu.

So what happens if two (or more) of the people he loves are in some sort of danger, which could leave him truly alone? A very sad, scared, and angry dragon. Bonus angst if his grandmother turns out to be the one to blame somehow.

• I truly feel like the narrative for Diasomnia will deal with elements of loss and grief considering that Idia is the one who's going to be helping this time. He has already experienced the pain of losing his brother, so he's the one who could understand Malleus the best...especially if his issues stem from losing his parents perhaps

A lot of my theories depend on Yana taking inspiration from "Maleficent," and I expect to be wrong on most of this once the actual story comes out tbh, but this is what I've imagined the plot to be like until now. I hope it made sense??? I wrote this at like 6 am after an all nighter 😅

Decided To Repost this since I cant edit the og post

So I had this idea that came in my head. It's basically a Genshin x TWST Story. It's not creative and original but it just randomly popped up in my head.

And I'm planning to do some videos of this crossover in Gacha soon.
