ok so basically I saw your post asking for prompts and I have been thinking for days about cat good omens . again. let me explain

so a while back I wrote a super fucking long cat omens fic (long for me at least) where they’re stray cats, it’s called strays on the street, almost 60k words. BUT in my head is ANOTHER CAT AU where they are warrior cats ok idk if you’ve ever read those books but there’s hundreds of them and they’re about clans of cats who fight and hunt and fuck and it’s crazy and not child appropriate. I was reading cats get mauled and give birth graphically in 2nd grade but anyway I WANNA READ THEM AS WARIROR CATS OR WRITE IT MAYBE?? OH ABSOLUTELY. Warriors cats was my SHIT growing up, and sosososos many ideas I cannot thank you enough: I’ll link one of my fics below and I just started writing so they aren’t AMAZING but decent I think still!!! Ones about Angel Crowley finding inspiration for the entire universe after one (1) passing glance at a specific Angel and the other about Crowley struggling a bit after the fall, past angst but wings and fluff!!!

THOUGH I ABSOLUTELY GET ZERO STRAIGHT LINES OF THOUGH FELLOW ADHDER SO LEMME SEE IF I CAN RESPOND TO ALL OF THESE AKFKRLS

So basically I have also thought about warrior cats au before and BASICALLY

Crowley is a dark forest cat (kicked out like Ashfur) and Aziraphale is a Starclan cat!!!! Remember in the first books when they have to move from the original forest bc it was getting chopped down? Instead of moving, Starclan saw no way out of that and was like “what if they all just die instead than problem solved and we never have to worry about issues ever again?”

Crowley and Aziraphale are obviously like NO THATS A BAD IDEA and after an accidental meeting at the foggy border between Starclan and the dark forest, they are both elected by their respective forces to take over two clan’s medicine cat’s bodies and make sure that the 9 layers of Armageddon that Starclan is sending to wipe out the clans will go through. Instead, they try to thwart things while each dealing with clan life once again, and of course, shenanigans ensue!

Okay growing older I literally love the idea of as they drift further from their respective sides, they lose more and more of their ethereal powers, but it means they can be together and be left alone. While it’s a sacrifice that they’re both willing to make, it does come with some unintended side effects (mostly for Crowley; human bodies don’t tend to handle a million year free-style dives into pits of boiling sulphur too well) but they again find ways. Essentially a lot of fluff post-Armageddon’t and s2 in the South Downs Cottage????

And thirdly what if post S2, Crowley doesn’t really know what to do with himself but he’s PISSED. And there is no more “their” side, only Crowley’s side and he’s not exactly thrilled to be back alone. He has nothing else to do and he wants petty revenge, so he matched Aziraphale’s position as Supreme Archangel as a Duke Of Hell, mainly as an excuse to fuck with Aziraphale and make sure that Aziraphale won’t be able to forget about him any time soon, because Crowley certainly hasn’t thought about him.

AND TWO SPLIT ROUTES ONE ANGST ONE CRACK

1) With nobody left on Earth, Crowley and Aziraphale are out of the loop and before they realize it, the second coming had happened. Earth is dead, and Heaven and Hell are preparing for war once again. Meeting on the battlefields, each full of anger and with nothing left to go back to, what will happen? Either they fight and one accidentally wounds the other before they’re both like OH SHIT WAIT WAIT WAIT THIS IS STUPID MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE or one is hurt by the enemy side and found by the other; how do they stick together when no place is safe anymore?

OR NOT HORREDNOUS ANGST

2) Crowley finds out about the second coming, which he doesn’t think Aziraphale knows about, and vice Versa. Cue notes with ridiculous clues and stupid Spelling Things Out with random capitals to send a message, and completely obliviousness on both sides because they’re too desperate to get their own sides across that they don’t even stop to consider that the other may Also be trying to send a message. Cue increasingly grand gestures from both sides before Aziraphale shows up at Crowley’s office holding the Son of God, and they have to figure out how to stop the second coming while finding out ways to acknowledge the emotional damage they both still carry from their last meeting in the bookshop

Sailor x Siren writes itself: maybe shipwrecked Aziraphale finds Very Almost Miraculously Convenient things on this abandonded island that he’s trying to survive on, before one night he finds a certain someone repairing the broken boat little by little. They get scared off before they can talk but Azi leaves an offering back, and cue not-meeting-but-absolutely-communicating until actual meeting than bam! Eventually they both realize that there’s nobody getting him off this island and the ultimate choice for Aziraphale to drown and become a siren too, he takes the offer and is literally just held by siren!Crowley as he takes his last breath and a bit of suspense before BOOM REBORN HAPPY ENDING YIPEE!!

Than dating Furfur to cause jealousy, specifically knowing how similar the two can look, Crowley makes it VERY obvious that he’s complimenting and highlighting all the similar traits of Aziraphale but TO SOMEONE ELSE. Aziraphale refuses to directly confront but cue more and more aggressive signs from the heavens that try to break them apart that Crowley keeps spinning into good things. Aziraphale convinces Muriel child-of-divorce style to miraculously decorate the bookshop that Crowley had been living in to an EXTREME for Valentine’s Day, and Crowley spins it into ‘I did this myself’ for FurFur. Eventually, Aziraphale gets so spun up that he can no longer focus on the planning (or thwarting) of the second coming and gets so pissed with Crowley little shithead antics that he leaves the rambunctious 10 yo son of Christ at the door, with a small note reading something along the lines of ‘Fine, deal with this yourself than; PS this is Jesus!’ And the exact opposite silence, Crowley flailing to win Aziraphale’s good graces and communicate with him, handling Jesus, and dealing with some growing guilt after Furfur genuinely seemed to become attached. Not sure how this would end, but probably Crowley working through everything on his own, separate sides angst, alternating POV chapters, and they ultimately team up again to solve all the issues

Also for Parent trap Au: Muriel and the Bentley power-duo: Crowley’s depressed so Muriel can use the Bentley, and it drives Muriel places and hints at what to do next ect ect while Muriel figures out human stuff, romance, heaven, and after numerous failed attempts- a happy ending for the wonderous Mr.Fell and Mr.Crowley who had taken her in before!

Also Absolutely Dyslexic Crowley having pretended to just really hate books for the longest time, but Aziraphale eventually noticed that Crowley struggles to read menus and other stuff too- just poor eyesight and with knowledge being the root of the original sin, heaven found it quite ironic to block that in more than a few ways for the very demons who perpetuate sin! Confrontation, and eventually Crowley gives in and cue absolute fluff; Aziraphale reads and finds a new side of Crowley, who despite what he had spent many years convincing himself, actually ends up enjoying various things and even asking further questions and speculating and thinking about things (which Aziraphale is more than thrilled about to finally have someone to discuss with!)

Also I am currently on SOS Internet on the drive home, so I can’t risk opening a new webpage lest everything is risked but my Ao3 is LvndrLemonade! Just a lot of thoughts below. No common theme tbh

Perhaps I should do a tutorial on how I draw spam sometime? I've seen a couple tries of emulating my style so I think it might be fun to give a Direct way to do it. Not to say the emulations were bad! I just think it would be fun 2 do.

I have a love hate relationship with Hotel California. It's a good god damn song. But I heard it literally Every Day after school for like 2 years. I put it in one of my playlists to antagonize myself.

I often wonder what people think of me. Am I a good person? Am I doing right by myself? I don't know. I hope I'm good. I hope I'm kind and approachable. But looking back at my last relationship.. I don't know. It was definitely my fault but he also made me so upset so often. I hope I don't do that to anyone else

I get compliments about my line art a lot. Usually along the lines of "it's so smooth/clean/etc" Here's a fun fact: my hands are chronically shaky. Probably because I don't eat enough but I digress. I want you to open your art program and find the stabilizer. Or correction or whatever the fuck it's called. Turn it up to the point you can make a somewhat unsure line into a confident one. Bam, you're already 70% of the way to how I do my lines. The rest is experience and a trained eye ;]

I really want someone to hold and kiss and love. I have so much of it, and I can't give it to anyone near me. Why? I already dated most of my friends. It would be weird. Just really want someone I'm close to that I can snuggle up to again. I miss that comfort.

I realized, after I made the Blue and Spam post, that Pink is ALSO based on a family member. See, my mom has 2 sisters. The one like Spam, and the one I accidentally made Pink act like. For ease, Mo is pink, KT is spam, and Ma is blue. Mo fucking HATES KT. Doesn't want anything to do with her. But just like Ma, if KT actually needed her help, she'd be there. Begrudgingly, of course.

I wonder how long it usually takes people to make art like mine. For me, if it's just Spamton and no other characters/objects, it takes maybe 2 - 3 hours. That's the full piece. From sketch to post. I'm very fast at what I do so I wonder. I truly do!

My music taste leans heavily towards rock, but hard rock has never caught me quite as much as the rest. Maybe I just haven't found the right kind. Honestly finding new music is always a treat. My mom absolutely loves Rush, and I can see why! But I also love pretty much Everything! Musicals to pop to acapella to fuckin opera if it's good. Rock is a Huge genre, so I guess that's why my taste is so open to begin with. Gotta say tho, raising your kid on motley crue and guns n roses isn't the Best idea if you want an Obedient child.

I love drawing hands. I enjoy the process of feeling out the movement and flow. Hands are so expressive and I genuinely love drawing them. I can understand ppl hating them, but that doesn't mean I agree. Just take the time to learn and you'll see.

Oh right, I should say if you have any opinions/commentary/whatever abt all this shit I'm totally down for a full on rant. Ok. Time to sleep.

Some people in the notes of my recent calligraphy piece said they were interested in manuscripts and stuff, so I thought you all might want to see some of my process pics (there are many! I've been working on this project for almost a year!)

Also, I think my own process is interesting, and I wanted to write it out. Very long post with lots of images under the cut:

I first had the idea for the piece as a submission for a zine that didn't come to fruition. I knew I really wanted to do a piece of text from SMEN, made to look like an illuminated manuscript, but I didn't really know how to... do that. And also I didn't know SMEN that well, so I went through all the text and pulled out some quotes I thought seemed kinda church-y, and drew up a few thumbnails for the finished photo. Honestly, the finished product didn't look that far off from that picture in the middle! Although I guess I was originally planning to use a fork as a prop?

Some of the very first drafts. I'm not great at figuring out layouts and line spacing, so I wrote all the text on a separate paper and cut the words out, so I could figure out where they should go. I kept them all in a little envelope, but it looks like I've lost a few, lol. The capital letter and border designs are from The Bible of Illuminated Letters by Margaret Morgan. I think it's funny to look back on these, because the hands they were done in (Foundational and Gothicized Italic, respectively) are ones I really haven't touched since, and am not good at at ALL. At the time, Foundational Hand was the only broad-edge script I kind of knew, and the Gothicized Italic was just me attempting to copy the exemplar from Foundations of Calligraphy by Sheila Waters (which, if you're interested in learning broad-edge calligraphy, is a book I cannot recommend highly enough)

I tried making a full draft using the materials (I assumed) I would be using in the final version. Seeing it altogether, I could tell that... well first of all, I obviously used WAY too big of a nib because I couldn't get all the lines on the page, but also that I didn't really like... any of it. I don't think it's bad (and I didn't then), but it really wasn't what I was picturing for this project.

I took a workshop on a new calligraphic hand specifically for this piece, because.... that's a good use of my time and money. Anyway, I tried writing out the text in Textura (left) and Fraktur (right). The workshop I took was focusing on Fraktur, but we learned some Textura, too, because Fraktur is just if you took Textura and, well.... fractured it. I think I planned on using this ink for the final version, but I didn't, because I... I think I just forgot to buy more? Maybe it would have been too much red.

Strictly speaking, Fraktur wouldn't be the hand one would traditionally use with the border I picked for the final piece. The white vine style of border originated in the 15th century, in the Renaissance (frequently they're called Renaissance white vines), and Fraktur started in the 16th century. Also (and this might be wrong), I think fraktur was designed to be a typeface, and not specifically for calligraphy? I haven't been able to find any handwritten manuscripts that used fraktur, but I might just be missing something. The white vine style border would probably be used with something more like italic calligraphy! But I don't know italics, and I liked the sharpness of Fraktur. I thought it worked well for a manuscript page that's supposed to represent a sort of... self-harm cult.

I briefly considered, instead of doing the full border and big capital like I did in the final version, doing a large versal with filigree, like the work of Benoit Furet. I took a workshop from him on how to do them, but tbh, when I tried to do it, it looked really messy and childish. I don't have any photos of my attempts at filigrees, but just know that I did consider them.

I decided I wanted to do a full border decoration, instead of filigrees, so I took a workshop on some. This was focused on Renaissance Floral Borders, like the one below, which is (as you can see) from the Visconti Hours (an illuminated Book of Hours from the late 14th century)

I designed one to put on the piece, and I also chose a different design for the capital- a big Roman N, with what was supposed to kind of look like a top-down well behind it. When I finally put everything together, I... well to be quite honest, I hated it. The different design elements didn't really seem to coalesce, instead looking more like I just cut and pasted different stuff than it did that time I actually did that, a few pictures earlier. This design is entirely thrown out, and we start over.

So I took another workshop! I love to learn, and I occasionally even enjoy being taught. This one was on Renaissance White Vine borders, like these ones:

I liked these because they seemed a little bigger and busier than the floral borders, and I thought that might be better for what is, really, a very simple piece. Here's some design attempts! The white dots in the background are actually very traditional, but I chose not to use them in my finished piece, because I thought it made the whole thing look too cute. Also I forgot.

Funnily enough, for all my investigation into manuscripts, the boarder design I used wasn't really from any actual historical piece! I liked this one a lot, so the final border was inspired by it. I'm not really sure who made it, or when. When I took this workshop, the instructor gave us a packet of examples, and this was one of them. The caption just says it's a page from "a beautiful album prepared by the Harris Studio, Chicago."

I don't understand how gilding works and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask. I have a bottle of Instacoll and some gold leaf sitting on my supply shelf, and I think they're there just to bully me. I would give them my lunch money if they told me to. Previous drafts were done with Coliro metallic watercolors (from left to right in the previous draft images, it was Rose Gold, Arabic Gold, and Moon Gold), and I decided I would just use that in the final version, too.

I mostly settled on my vine border/capital, so I did another full draft. Why did I do this one landscape, even though I was going to do the final version in portrait? Well, you see, it's very simple: I didn't wanna deal with my hand bumping into the binding on my sketchbook. And while I COULD have just torn a piece OUT of the sketchbook and used that, uh, well... I didn't.

Around this time, I got an iPad, so I decided to try making a digital draft in Procreate. I'm pretty bad at picking colors, and it was a real pain to have to mix up so much paint every time I wanted to try a different color scheme. And I was running out of red gouache! So I thought that, if I made it digitally, I could mess around with the colors a lot easier, and then use that to mix my paints.

After I did the calligraphy and added my border, though, I thought the whole thing looked pretty empty, so I extended the border below and above the text. I used a bottom border design like the one in this piece, which is from the same place as the other one I was referencing.

As for the top border, I kinda just made it up! I drew some swirls and some flowers and then erased it and redrew it until I decided I liked it.

For the colors, I (as I said) am very bad at colors. I don't know how they work, and they scare me! I ended up coloring the border in grayscale, and then use a gradient map to get colors with the right values.

After that, I printed out the digital version and used my light table to trace it onto a piece of Arches 90lb Hot Press watercolor paper.

The lines were done in a sepia Sakura Micron pen. The calligraphy is mostly done in an iron gall ink with a Mitchell Roundhand nib size 3. The first line was done with a 2.4 mm Pilot Parallel pen, in Pilot Red. (The part that says "The Name" was the Pilot Red ink, but with the smaller nib.) I don't have any in-progress pictures of this part, but I did the calligraphy, and then the gold (in Coliro Arabic Gold watercolor), and then I painted the boarder background in Windsor & Newton gouache.

Then I set up everything for my photo! I draped a piece of black linen over my desk (including my very tall desk lamp, so I could get some verticality/block out the rest of my living room from the photo), and grabbed some of the props I'd been accumulating while working on this.

The resin knife and the candle/candle holder I bought off etsy, the red cup I got at Goodwill, and the ribbon is... I think just something I had on hand? You can't really see the cup in the final photo, but it was just out of frame to the right. I also had a few different colors of candles (one was white and one was clear red with gold foil that actually wasn't able to be lit) but the black candle looked best, AND was the right color for St. Arthur's Candle

Ninjago is weird af. It's a kids Lego show (The first and only one to properly take off, the ones that came after it were cheap knock-offs and were somehow even weirder. Example: Lego Chima, Nexo knights. Nexo was just ninjago but with knights, instead.) That, I'm fairly certain, is still running. The original director and creator of the show left really recently, though, and the shows being left in the hands of new people.

It's obviously a kids show, but like, it could make some serious bucks as an anime tbh. Before the reboot (They changed the animation style after the movie, to make it more consistant? Idk, I didn't like it because the movie wasn't really a ninjago movie. All the characters personalities were fucked up and the show changed to be more like that. Though, I'm biased and prefer the og for nostalgia purposes.) One of the characters had the lesbian eye slit (A guy, btw. He's absolutely gay), one of them was autism coded (I felt it was handled well. Obviously not the best, but well for a kids show.) One of them had anime hair that would've been hell to animate, and this one had almost all the trauma. There's another one with daddy issues who had a whole coming out thing (He was coming out as a ninja but it was very similar to a coming out to a Homophobie parent speech), and one of them is literally the trauma

The run down of the Characters is like:

Kai- The anime protagonist. Dead parents, used to be the main character. Angsty. Distrustful. Angry. Is supposed to represent bravery. He started raising his sister when he was, like, five years old. He used to be a blacksmith. He's the fire guy.

Nya- The sister. The damsel in distress until she isn't. Mechanical mastermind. She's a perfectionist, she's sassy, she's The Girl™ character that you expect from a kids cartoon. I won't spoil who she is.

Jay- One of his first lines was hitting on Kai's sister after she got captured. Literally "Is she hot?" to Kai's face. Kai, like a sane person, told him to back off. Jay is the writers favourite. He gets the girl. His biggest trouble is that he was raised in a junkyard by his parents. He's the lightening guy.

Cole- His mom died. His dad is trying to remake his glory days. He's buff, level headed, and loves cake. He's the defacto leader. He has a scythe as a weapon. He's the earth guy

Zane- Is a massive nerd. He's lovable and he's friendly. He doesn't know much about social cue but he tries his best. He's very awkward. He's different from the rest of the team, but they love him none the less. His whole character arc is learning to be who he is, not being like everyone else. He's a brilliant cook with a cool falcon friend. He's the ice guy

Wu- The in sighting incident for the team. The son of God. Is a really old man who made a child army and is presented as a good guy. The first time you meet him is through him insulting Kai, the main character.

Garmadon- The big bad, he's dramatic. He's theatrical. He's lowkey silly. He's a babygirl. Despite being absent, he wants to be a good dad to his son, but his son is destined to fight him and he doesn't want to make that harder than it needs to be.

Lloyd- A little shit of a child, he is a true menace. Imagine Maui as a child. He's adorable. His biggest crime is stealing candy (And also releasing war criminals, but he didn't mean to so it's ok xx)

Pythor- The sexiest snake villain to be brought into TV. I'm no furry/scaly, but they gave him the sexy/deep/sultry British voice. They intended for that to be the desired effect.

Skales- Pythor's spiritual wife. They're divorced and married and they hate each other and love each other. Later on Skales gets an actual wife and they made her pink and gave her boobs to prove she's a girl lmfao

I've watched one of the lego movies (the one with the everything is awesome song), but that was forever ago so no clue if he's in that. Also! I love autism coded characters! My mom recommended me a book series saying the main character...hang on I don't remember it exactly. Was said to have aspergers (not my favorite word but I'm referencing the author) as author's word of god? or is it that everyone just picks up on that when reading? whatever it is specifically, the character is at least very easily read as autistic. I haven't read the series myself yet, but I'm very curious to pick it up!

Villains always seem to have a higher baseline of intrigue than other characters, and also a high comorbidity of snakeliness (totally a word, ignore the red squiggle under it saying it's not. it's lying). but also you were right that wife can pink--I'm sorry i can't get over the snakes having human bodies. i understand this is a lego world but they have completely normal ass legs it's just their heads that are snakes. this is. i can't take this seriously that's hilarious

Captain Knife

Hair: undercut (shaved two lines that cross), curly short hair that is slightly styled up

Eyes: heterochromia (one is dark brown (almost black) , the other is grey blue

Facial scars: on his left cheek is a long scar that goes down to his chin, another one crosses that scar from his earlobe diagonally up over his nose towards his hairline

Beard: stubbles

Facial tats: golden sun ray stripes on his right temple

Other facial details: his left canine teeth is chapped, has very light freckles all over his face

Body tats: stripes around his left biceps that run down his inner forearm and form half a circle in his palm (his general has the other half )

Other body details: multiple scars from battles, freckles

Armor: orange grey, very minimal, no real pattern, just dunked different pieces of his armor in his battalion’s colors, kama

Weapons: twin blasters, butterfly vibro-knife, daggers

Preferred combat style: hand to hand close combat

Knife sits on a heavy box filled with new rations. While he fidgets with his favorite butterfly knife, his odd eyes gaze over his men. They look tired, down, unmotivated. He can’t blame them. Since one of their commanders suddenly had disappeared, everything started to fall apart. And the lieutenant who should take over the commanders spot, refuses to do so.

Fork.

Knife never met a brother like him. Quiet, warm, so utterly soft hearted that it is almost sickening. So shy yet fierce if he has to be, instruction and orders always clear.

If someone asked Knife about Fork, he would tell them that the lieutenant isn’t cut out to be a soldier. He doesn’t belong into a cold war. Fork takes things personally very quick, despite being also very understanding.

Fork is an easy victim for their brothers. A target of many. Knife had noticed his loneliness and had tried to talk to him. But no matter what Knife had said… he made it worse.

Fork might hate him now, if he thinks about it. Perhaps he shouldn’t have teased him about his name. Or his rank. Maybe he shouldn’t have teased him at all since everyone else does so.

Honey brown eyes suddenly meet his odd ones. There is curiosity written in it but also something Knife doesn’t understand. Is it hate? Fear? Wary?

The Lieutenant starts to sign a question. Knife waits, watches until he is done.

Am I doing something wrong? Do you need something?

Anyone would tell Fork that there is nothing to worry about. But not Knife, because there is something the blond is doing wrong in his eyes.

"This is your men's job. You were assigned somewhere else. Why are you doing this?"

Maybe he could have told him in a lighter, warmer way, asked him more carefully, since it’s obvious that the lieutenant isn’t doing well.

Fork's failed campaign had caused him to work harder, but at the same time to neglect himself even more. A behavior Knife can understand but not really tolerate. If the man in lead is broken, the rest will crumble.

Fork quickly signs him back, he already finished his work and his men needed some help, which Knife doubts. Those men are just taking advantage of their warm hearted lieutenant.

Just as Knife wants to reply to him a blue skinned jedi steps closer to him. The pantoran has dark blue hair braided into a high ponytail. Golden eyes lighten up as they see Knife. Knife, who stops fidgeting with the blade in his hand almost immediately.

"Kari. You should be meditating."

Knife might not be her right hand, but he knows her schedule, he knows Kassori Mivi like his own heart.

A quiet chuckle escapes the jedi as she steps closer to press her forehead against his.

All tension suddenly leaves his shoulders, her mind embracing his.

"I was, Knife. But it seemed to be more exciting out here. Fork how are you doing?"

The blue jedi pulls away from Knife to smile gently at the blond. Fork looks from her to Knife and back again, excusing himself that he has to work.

Knife isn’t sure why it angers him. Kassori tries to befriend him but Fork…

"He feels responsible… for all their deaths. He thinks he failed me. But I am the one who-"

The captain pulls her back against him, cupping her cheek and gently forcing her to look him in the eyes.

"I dislike it when you do this. The war is not your fault, Kari. This is why you shouldn’t neglect your meditating. Isn’t your magic thing telling you the same?"

"The force is not- "

Kassori sighs as he looks into Knife's cold, yet caring eyes. There is so much loathing and longing deep inside of him.

The jedi leans further in to brush her lips gently against his.

"Perhaps I should listen to you more often Captain."

She steps back, eyes sparkling as golden as the sun behind her.

She always leaves. Always steps back. Knife would like to pull her back, ask for more. But he doesn’t dare. He will never dare to overstep. They had talked about it. This is why their relationship is open.

Yet his heart belongs to her. It always will. Everyone knows. Even her fellow jedi.

Knife shakes his head and lets out a dry snort.

"You should. Go meditate before I get the shinies to look at you with their tooka eyes."

"Why… but they could join the meditation. Call them. Or would you like to join me, Knife?"

The captain puts his knife back and looks at his men before eyeing her yet again.

"Let me get the Shinies. They could use the rest. "

A lot of what I've written this year are song lyrics that are NOT ready for anyone else's eyes lmao. You can have this little snippet from an Our Flag Means Death fic I'm working on though:

The dull Toronto sky barely seemed real as Ed stared gloomily out of his studio apartment window. The whole city felt fleeting, a hastily-painted backdrop to an imitation of life that looked as if it could start peeling away at any moment. He remembered coming here with his mother as a teenager, resenting the city’s skyscrapers for blocking his view of home, all the friends he had to leave behind. It was childish to feel that way again, Ed thought, but he also knew he couldn’t help it. Stede made him happier than he’d ever thought possible, and everything that came between them was cruel in its indifference. They hadn’t arranged when to see each other again – that was normal, Ed needed to know his schedule before he could commit, and he normally called from a payphone once he had something to offer. But the wait until then didn’t make it any easier.

what is something that you’d like to create content for?

I want to make a video game lmao. I started designing a top-down shooter a while ago to see how it felt and I. It activated all the special interest neurons in my brain I want to make game mechanics and spend ages making little pixel art icons bc I will get v obsessive about the art style and- but that's not really what the question was lmao. Uh. I've only recently started getting into writing fanfic and stuff, I'm writing for Our Flag Means Death right now but I had some ideas in high school for Doctor Who fics that I might dust off at some point-

my year has NOT been going how i expected it to at all and some of it stings a bit, I won't lie, but that's unfair of me because things are really, really good when I get over myself and really think about it. I am happy, I'm just a little bit insane, but I'm leaving the place that is making my mental health tank in about a month so things are looking up!! and they were already good, I just!!!

No, but I think the sense of community and catharsis and connection to something so much bigger than myself I get when I see my favourite artists at a concert is close to the feeling I think a lot of people are chasing, and can feel, when explorign their faith. I would say I'm some kind of spiritual but I think that feeling just comes from Us, not because there's something Bigger out there

Happy FFWF! What was the most recent fic you wrote, and what inspired you to write it? What makes your fic unique, and why did you take it in the direction that you did?

happy ffwf choco!! the most recent fic i wrote is it was more than worth it, aka my kincoy 7+1. honestly, my big inspiration for that fic was a) my obsession with kincoy lmao and b) my desire to write some kind of exploration of claire and jack's relationship from start to finish that was a bit different than the other fics out there that do the same, hence why i ended up using a lot of outsider pov in the story. i also really wanted to include jack's relationships with his ADAs following claire, which is how the +1 section came about. and tbh i think those qualities are also what makes the fic unique -- it's one of few kincoy fics i've seen that a) looks at their relationship from the pov of others (rather than claire or jack's pov) and b) includes interactions with jamie, abbie, serena, alex, and connie. i also wanted to experiment with a bit of new writing style, and this fic proved to be the perfect opportunity; the +1 part (aka "Those Who Followed," jack's ADAs after claire) is written in present tense with intercutting past-tense flashbacks of claire and jack together, and every section ends by beginning the next. because i'm vain, here's an example:

“What do you mean?” Jamie asks. “You say you shouldn’t miss her like you do—how do you miss her?”

“Like someone who loved her.” The words spill from Jack’s tongue before he can stop them, and he can’t meet Jamie’s eyes. “Like someone she loved.”

Realization dawns across Jamie’s face, her expression carefully neutral until this point. “I see. You didn’t deserve to love her then, and you don’t deserve to mourn her now.”

Jack’s jaw tightens at her words, but he’s all but said them himself. He nods stiffly. “We never should have—”

“—tried to do this trivia, we’re bruising our egos with our own ignorance.”

Claire rolled her eyes at Jack’s comment, though a smile tugged at her lips. She didn’t put the newspaper down, either, still folded neatly in half so they could look at the weekly trivia together without seeing the answers on the back page. “We can’t give up yet, we’ve only tried the first half.”

i also transitioned through time (i.e. between jack's new ADAs, for lack of a better description) in a similar way, just using a different line break to designate the jump:

Jack swallows hard, and he closes his eyes a second time. “Thanks, Jamie,” he whispers. “Thank you.”

A chair creaks, and soon Jack feels a hand on his shoulder, a touch so gentle he can almost pretend it’s hers.

“You’re welcome.” A pause. “If you need anything, you can always call me. Even if I can’t—”

“—believe you dated a girl that gorgeous. No way, Jack. No fucking way!”

Jack laughs as Abbie looks at him, at the photo of himself and Claire, then back at him again, shaking her head in amused shock.

“Tell me about it,” he says, grinning. “Every day I asked myself how I got so lucky.”

“It wasn’t your good looks, that’s for sure,” Abbie says, but she’s grinning, too, as she hands the photo back to him.

AND THEN, with the ending of the fic, i took the poem Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep and intercut it with scenes between claire and jack, now in present tense, bc at the end of the day those we love never truly leave us 💛 here's a snippet:

“Do you?” she whispers, uncertain, and Jack’s hand slowly falls from his mouth.

“Yeah,” he says, honestly. “Yeah, I do.”

And a small, almost bashful smile tugs at Claire’s lips. “Good.” She reaches over to lace her fingers through his. “Because I think I might love you, too.”

Jack grins, too, because they are—

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

—standing at his door with wet eyes and weary faces.

“There’s been an accident, Jack,” Anita Van Buren says, her voice cracking.

“It’s Claire,” Adam Schiff says, older than he’s ever been.

Jack can’t breathe, because he is—

I am not there.

—kissing Claire Kincaid for the first time, his heart pounding out of his chest.

“We shouldn’t be doing this,” Jack murmurs, pulling away.

“I want to do this,” Claire counters, tugging him down into another kiss.

She wants to do this, because she is—

I did not die.

28 years old when a drunk driver smashes into the left side of her car.

In your exp, what are 5 things a person should polish to be a good graphic designer?

amm look i am at best an average graphic designer so this is by no means a great guide its just gonna be very basic. in general tho idk

1. look at art and design and whatever visual stuff you like. you need references and your own brain library to develop your taste and come up with new stuff you like. consider: most of the things you can imagine have already been done (this isnt a bad thing) and there is almost always going to be Something that does what you want in a way that inspires u to make something really good too. hoard that shit.

2. its evil but learn to draw. i dont mean learn to illustrate or become an artist but you should be at the v least a proficient draftsman and understand how to accurately represent Things via Lines and Shapes and the best way to learn is to just learn to draw. the amnt of designers i know who Do Not Know how to draw is apalling tbh

3. ignore trends as much as possible and develop your own style. you might not be able to Use your own personal style for everything but it will make a difference even if the work you do has to be more comercial or following really boring brand guidelines (most work will be like this dont get too stressed about it its not as limiting as it might sound). if there is smth you like abt a trend look into it as i said in 1 almost everything has already been done before and there is always a chance youll find some niche artist from 1823 who developed the thing you love beautifully and youll learn smth and perhaps even integrate it into your work.

4. its so boring but practice using whatever software or medium you tend to enjoy and experiment lots. its not all about Your Programs but knowing how they work and the dif things you can do w dif tools is extremely useful. this might be obvious idk but i went to uni and they basically skimmed over teaching us software or that many mediums which i think was evil. like design is basically a technical career and youre not gonna teach us technique ? ok. but yeah practice lots and try new things (techniques, programs, mediums, styles, effects, etc.) then integrate the things you learn to your work, i guarantee you youll be able to even if you have a prefered medium or smth.

5. never forget its just a job. if anybody ever tries to convince you design will change the world or whatever do not listen. design is just another job and designers are just regular workers. be nice to other designers they are your friends and fellows even if they might also be competition in some cases (this should not be your primary or default relation to other designers tho). remember celebrity designers should not exist and also they are REALLY dumb and 99% of the time they are saying extremely stupid shit do not listen to them or to their fanboys. same goes for design "academia" and "critical design". its bullshit.

i know you said 5 but a quick one: freelance work is a fucking scam. avoid making it your main job for long periods of time if possible. your freelance projects should be your sideprojects, not your job. the amnt of people who are able to live off purely freelancing is not big like its possible but it isnt for everybody. id fully recommend the stability and relative safety of a full time job instead, especially as you get older. good luck

it’s 3:30 am and it’s one of those nights

no can sleep, everyone is awake for various reasons and they’re all sick of blindly tossing around. then they hear the elevator ding from out the hallway and they immediately perk up

they all get up at the same time and open their doors at the same time

bruce: “we have to stop spending so much time together”

then they silently shuffle toward the elevator to see who it is

thor, peter and y/n step out, all holding a venti iced latte and a mcmuffin and everyone acts like it’s grossing them out because it’s too early for food

but their eyes meet and it’s one of those moments where you know you’re about to do something careless and stupid but you do it anyway

they all squeeze into the elevator in their pyjamas without uttering a word and wiggle their way into the 10 passenger van they always use for bonding trips

y/n, peter and thor follow without protest bc Sleep Is For The Weak

peter somehow ends up in the driver’s seat while y/n gets to drive shotgun and no one notices bc everyone’s too busy fighting tooth and nail to get some room but then the car almost hits a lantern and someone screams

(it was loki)

“sHIT eyes on the road stark!!!” “wilson, i’m sitting right next to you?” “then who’s driving”

y/n, cheerily: “peter is!” “yep! and i think i’m doing a pretty good job too! can you believe i’ve only driven in parking lots and once in a car chase? funny right” “yOU WHAT-“

y/n switches to random stations to have it play quietly in the background but then ‘driver’s license’ comes on and peter whoops and rolls down the windows while y/n yanks up the volume

the avengers are flabbergasted because why are the younglings getting so excited about a song that is about heartbreak?

30 seconds later, they get it

sam pulls up lyrics, tony and nat chime in on the chorus with peter and y/n, and the others pull out flashlights and lighters to hold them up

bucky tries to wipe away his tears without anyone noticing, and steve smirks at him because ofc he saw it. he’s not impressed when bucky hisses at him

and then the bridge hits and everyone loses their minds

safety is thrown to the wind, everyone rolls down their windows and sticks out their heads and arms while screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs

it’s too cinematic to be real tbh but it’s GREAT

and that’s how the longest night of the year starts. not technically, but it sure feels like it because so much happens

mcdonald’s is lawless land and the avengers are on a mission to wholeheartedly contribute to the vibe

some guy waiting in line: “hey aren’t you the god of thunder? you’re an avenger right?”

thor, literally carrying mjolnir and very obviously traveling with the team: “never heard of them”

clint is an old man and it’s clearly past his bed time but he refuses to be left out of this, so he fluctuates between napping the moment they sit down and trying to drag everyone along to wander around

steve is 100% that one super super nice stranger you start a super deep conversation with and it leaves you in a great mood for the rest of the night

he even ends up exchanging numbers with a nice lady that does art workshops so now steve has a new place to flaunt his artistic vein :)

it’s literally 3 am but nat and loki look flawless. it’s ridiculous. they’re sauntering through this place, looking like the gods of hell, and leaving other insomniacs utterly speechless

they’re all turning their heads to stare after them because have they officially lost their minds? how does one look so intimidating but so magnificent

tony is the king of insomnia, he’s INVENTED it and it’s his city now, but once he’s out he’s out and no one has the heart to wake him up

he falls asleep in the most uncomfortable positions/places all night

he’s literally on top of a stranger’s car and they really have to go and the avengers are all shoving each other to be the one who has to interrupt his precious sleep

eventually bucky ends up carrying tony and he wakes up as they’re walking back

tony, patting bucky on the cheek before hopping down: “thanks buck”

peter being a class one protégé and passionate insomniac himself follows in his mentor’s footsteps and falls asleep everywhere, and although it’s kinda concerning, the team understands it shows his trust in them

he gets used to waking up in steve or thor’s arms

one time sam tossed him over his shoulder to get back to the car and peter is aghast, he is appalled, how dare he not carry him bridal style like the rest of the avengers, he deserves it-

they go get frozen yoghurt and steve only wants the healthy mango sorbet but y/n convinces him to try some of hers, which is vanilla chocolate fudge and oreo pieces

“that’s awful” “you want another bite” “yes”

(steve rogers is a whore for chocolate but you’ll never see him admit it)

nat challenges clint and bruce to fill their cups as high as possible so now they’re all stretched out on their stomaches on the floor by the yoghurt machines, ankles crossed, and navigating their cups to make the highest frozen yoghurt tower the world has ever seen

this starts a whole series of competitions in the middle of the store including who can leg press the most people

it ends up being a tie between steve, bucky, thor, and peter. they each had nat, tony, bruce AND loki and didn’t even break a sweat

“y/n, close your mouth”

but the night eventually does come to an end and everyone is huddled inside the van, some are already lightly snoring, and tony’s driving

once they’re back at the compound they don’t feel like parting ways though, so they wordlessly go to their rooms to grab all the pillows and blankets they can find

once they’re all sprawled on the ground in the living room, sleep comes easily especially after a night like that <3

I decided to give I Am Not Starfire a chance and... frankly I personally didn't like it that much. I don't hate it, but I'm also probably never going to reread it. I'm going to make this semi-review/reaction as fair as I can. Also these are just my opinions, so if you disagree with them just take them with a grain of salt and move on.

So one red flag that DID get obliterated was Mandy's last name being Koriand'r. It's, thankfully, just Anders. Not sure if this was changed mid production due to backlash or if the ad makers just screwed it up, but whatever.

Just 11 pages in (4 of which are the cover and credits) Mandy is already slutshaming her own mother for the way she dresses. /sarcasm/ Great way to get you to like the character. /sarcasm/

Starfire has an absolutely hideously drawn thigh gap in her introduction page.

Just about the only thing the comic does right in depicting teenagers is Mandy and her friend Lincoln, who both seem dedicated to being edgelords, incorrectly labeling themselves anarchists despite being the typical anti-establishment type teen. I knew and do know a lot of teens who act like this. Any other attempts to write teens here are, frankly, cringe worthy.

This Starfire is clearly based on her 2003 counterpart, which seems odd because this book is marketed towards teens, and that show aired and ended in 2006. For context, I'm 24 now, and that show would have ended when I was about 9. I'm just barely a Gen z. Most people who are actually teens right now would primarily associate this Starfire's characterization with the TT Go! spinoff... which I believe has the target audience of 4-7 year olds. It just seems like a weird decision to not go with her comic personality in this context.

The narrative very directly tries to compare the conflict between Star and Mandy as being similar to that of immigrant parents and their children... which I guess is there, but the story itself doesn't do much with that premise. Unfortunate, as I feel more focus on that could have actually made the story interesting.

Mandy is an extremely toxic person, as she's one of those "I'm not like other girls" characters, and that makes her very hard for me to sympathize with.

I've seen defenders go "Of course she's toxic she's a teenager" but like... the narrative clearly wants us to sympathize with her, but her behaviour at certain points makes that extremely difficult. She's mean to literally everyone other than Lincoln, often for no reason whatsoever.

Just about the only thing that I'm able to sympathize with her is some of her classmates harassing her about the Titans, and the fat phobic comments she gets. However, that can only justify her behaviour to a certain extent.

The sad thing is I WANT to like Mandy, as it's rare to get fat lesbians (or fat wlw in general) in media but she's just so... ugh, at points. She's also fairly generic in terms of female YA protagonists. I feel like I've seen her a million times, with the only difference being she's not straight.

Her completely blowing up over a selfie that Claire took is stupid. She doesn't even bother to explain why it upsets her, she just yells at this poor girl and storms off. Claire is then the one to be made to apologize, despite Mandy's blatant over reaction and unwillingness to communicate.

The way the story uses Gen z stereotypes to try to relate to its audience is the kind of thing I found extremely cringy when I was teenager. Judging from some reviews I've read written by actual teens, the feeling seems to be present here for the target audience to at least some extent.

(Think how 90s cartoons and teen sitcoms had an overabundance of skateboarding and rap to try and be "cool with the kids." Yeah, it's like that but with social media and boba tea).

"It's not fun, it's hamlet" is an actually legitimately funny line imo.

Also her bird is cute.

I like Claire's fruit backpack.

Honestly, one of the only genuinly positive things I can say about this is that I like the overall art style.

For some reason Blackfire decides to attempt to kill Kori and Mandy at her school instead of taking them to Tamaran? Petty queen, ig.

Blackfire is extremely underutilized. She spends the majority of the comic spying on Mandy before the big fight.

Mandy, at the very least acknowledges she was a shitty daughter towards the end, and seems to be making attempts to be less so in the epilogue.

Her new superhero costume is lame tbh. It's just typical goth clothes with bracelets and a tiara.

Still kind of annoyed that Claire had to apologize over a selfie and that Mandy's over reaction wasn't really called out.

Other than the selfie thing, Mandy's crush on Claire is cute.

So basically, not nearly as terrible as I was worried it was going to be, but it's otherwise pretty standard YA that doesn't do much new aside from being connected with DC Comics. If you're into that kind of thing, it'll be a pretty standard read but otherwise not super remarkable imo.

Side Note: Raven is pretty in this.

It’s common knowledge that you’re starting to not really like the fact that H is becoming so detached from his fans and I absolutely get you. I also see a shift in his presence/demeanor since the beginning of 2019 and here’s my take:

Harry is marking the line between Harry from Cheshire and Harry Styles ™ which would mean the relationship he has with his fans will be between them and HS ™ and not H from Cheshire.

Unfortunately in terms of communication I can’t help but agree with you. Him and his team need to step up but at the same time given the fact that he doesn’t use his socials like he used to : random black and white pics with one-word captions, oh how I miss those, replying to fans, following fans, etc., I’m not very surprised…

He even chooses to DM them sometimes instead of publicly interacting with them. To me, that’s H from Cheshire interacting with them. Maybe he just sees them as human beings and not his fans, I mean they do have their own personalities and lives and I think it’s good for him to remember that sometimes.

Anyway, my opinion on it is that he wants to make a clear demarcation between his personal life and the HS brand and since his artist name and his legal name are the same, maybe he feels the need to accentuate that demarcation even more so that eventually people will hopefully make the distinction.

I think the reason why some of his fans (including you, it seems) find it unfortunate is because you’ve been around for the longest time. You got to know the Cheshire Harry and seeing him pull that Harry back and only bring forth HS ™ is disappointing, of course. Cheshire Harry is more human than HS the brand, and naturally we’re more drawn to genuine things, it’s in our nature.

saves the reaction photos kuramochi sends him, but doesn’t usually use them. but seeing an ugly pic of eijun yelling never fails to make him grin LMAO

i think he also texts A LOT about baseball, even more so than these other baseball dummies. texts his teammates a lot of articles he reads or clips from games/cool plays. this is mostly about texts, but in terms of social media I think miyuki uses twitter/instagram the most especially for baseball related reasons, while kuramochi uses snapchat the most. 

he probably texts a lot about baseball as well, both seriously and playfully

i can see him using hahas and LOLs in equal measure, but he would also utilize the haha reaction if he had an iphone. this boy does value his wit so he would definitely have commentary about any memes or jokes he’s sent

i’m literally cracking up thinking about texting him. he is one of my ultimate baes but im sorry i just know he texts dry asf. but its part of his charm!

has a flip phone. either never upgrades or gets the chunkiest most basic android if he is forced to

the thing is this man thinks that he is infusing all his texts with, like, tajin level seasoning, when in reality its pepper

uses punctuation. always. exclamation marks are used sparingly to express excitement.

he’s better at holding conversations with more extroverted personalities, truthfully.

he’s another one who sends random things to people when he thinks about them. miyuki of course gets so many texts/thoughts about shogi. if you get a random haiku, poem, or quote from testu, that means you’re blessed enough to be in his inner circle! he definitely thought of you when he read it and and wants you to respond!

with bae: he doesn’t really change up his texting style tbh, but he has a stronger outward reaction to what YOU text in response.

definitely the type to smile almost imperceptibly at his phone as he texts you, even if you send him something like “hey i’m at the store, want anything?”

he’s not great as verbal affection early in the relationship, so you’ll have to discern his love/affection. however baby boy is NOT afraid to just straight up say he loves you, he does it all the time and early.

he’s KNOWN for being reliable and responsible, so he will be at your beck and call when he’s able to for anything you need, but his heart is also warmed by the thought of you reciprocating that care. if your texts show him you’re thinking of him just like he does too. he’s very gentle and sweet, and checks up on you when he’s able to see if you need anything at all.

he might be reliable, but that doesn’t mean that he’s the quickest guy to respond to texts. he’s a busy guy, and he doesn’t think about his phone all the time, but he will always get back to you (bae does not play when it comes to completing things).

1. Dyna’s New Form

Ok so definitely surprised that Dyna’s getting a new form despite 2022 being Dyna’s 25th Anniversary cause as a Neo Space Frontier Ultra, as far as we know now, there’s really nothing beyond the standard 3 forms minus Glitter since its a form that basically any ultra can achieve. Can’t say its Glitter Eternity either since it seems to be a unique existence in the AU Neo Space Frontier Universe of Trigger

Perhaps Dyna’s new form would shed more light on how the DoL ultras work? And would Tiga or even Trigger be able to access whatever form Dyna will be getting as well?

2. What seems to be missing from the list

Since the catalog would correspond to TDC, I’m surprised we dont see Mebius Infinity or Agul SV, perhaps in a later catalog list? But man this means that TDC would have way more than just 10 episodes which is definitely well within what we expected anyways

3. Other TsuPro characters

Yeah specifically referring to the last 4 characters in the UHS line everyone that follows TsuPro’s yt channel obviously saw this coming. Ngl I have never watched any of them but I hope their addition would help to build the Multiverse and we can expect good things from this cause tbh their involvement wasnt actually neccesary ngl so I hope theres big plans going forward with them

Tho I am pretty surprised we dont see Redman. But then again, he may be part of a later list

4. What does this mean for the theme for the next chronicle series?

Now this one is pretty interesting as we’re actually in uncharted waters as TDC would be occupying the slot when the Chronicle series usually takes place

And because the Chronicle series foreshadows the theme of the next ultra, which is most likely Regulus, I think I’ve figured out what exactly is going on with with all these bits and pieces of information.

Let us recall that the 2022 series would actually be the 10th New Gen series and looking at the catalog list, I heavily suspect that the Chronicle series would be featuring at least Taiga and Trigger (and most probably Z)

Now why if Regulus is obviously related to Leo and whatnot. Well its for the exact same reason why we got the New Gen Chronicle to foreshadow Taiga instead of a Taro Chronicle. The fact that we had the former instead of the latter suggests that TsuPro prioritizes the commemoration of era milestones more than what the theme of the next series will be for Chronicle themes. But there’s no doubt like prior to Taiga, we would see Leo episodes being posted by TsuPro alongside the Chronicle episodes. As for why specifically the first 3 Reiwa New Gen? Well since the theme is basically to commemorate the 10th New Gen series, and there was already a New Gen Chronicle series before, having the next 3 would just be a convenient to ‘fill the gap’

So I suspect that TDC would run from the week after Trigger ends to maybe a month or two before Regulus starts with the ‘New Gen Chronicle 2′ episodes airing all the way alongside

5. Trigger’s 3 part finale

So the UKS suggests that Carmilla gains yet another form even above her Vulthroom-empowered form. Which this means that there’s actually 3 stages of the final fight being:

1. Trigger vs Vulthroom

2. Carmilla getting empowered by Vulthroom, becoming the fusion that was listed in the previous leak

3. The fusion gaining access to the Eternity Core, thus getting even further empowered, thus becoming Demonozoa Carmilla Eternity

Ya ngl I suspect that Trigger would attain Glitter form at the end as it makes perfect sense since he has already been powercreeped in round 2 and Glitter would obviously be stronger than Glitter Eternity going by the lore as well as relative feats

Definitely some GOOD SHIT coming up

6. EX Series

ngl I havent been keeping up with figure releases ever since they stopped releasing DX figures but yo I see Grimude? Cant find any result on this line either tho, is it an entirely new one? And whats the difference btw EX and DX? Like I know that EX could sometimes just be normal figures or sometime like Imago Hyper Zetton

(Hell Im definitely buying Grimude if it's basically a DX equivalent)

Tho looking at the list for UKS, and considering the scale of TDC, i wont be surprised if all these kaiju would be showing up

Ngl Mebius Infinity would be the perfect match for Grimude if Reiga is unavailable due to Grigio being Grigio Darkness
