Being (Harmlessly) Flirted With By Tony Stark - Mycroft and Molly run into old friends of Mycroft's at a New Year's Eve gala at an art museum in London.

The gala at the art museum was a good way to spend New Year’s Eve, but Molly was more than willing to leave early and end up in Mycroft’s bedroom with him, getting more than just a kiss as the clock struck midnight. But she was enjoying herself and he didn’t seem to want to tear her away from it all.

She was just taking a sip from her second glass of champagne when she heard a voice call his name. “Mycroft! I haven’t seen you in ages!”

He smiled at the lovely woman who was approaching him with her very recognizable date. “Virginia. I didn’t know the two of you were in London.”

“Work, you know how it is,” Pepper Potts said. Molly was staring wide-eyed at her date. “Forgive my manners. This is Tony Stark.”

“Mycroft.” He shook Mycroft’s extended hand, then turned towards Molly. “And it's a pleasure to meet you…?” he asked, taking Molly’s free hand and kissing her knuckles.

“Molly. Molly Hooper,” she said, a blush on her cheeks and a wide smile on her face. “It’s an honor to meet you too, Mr. Stark.”

“Tony, please,” he said with a lascivious grin. Her blush deepened and she saw Pepper roll her eyes, but with a smile on her face. That meant it was nothing personal, just a flirty boyfriend being flirty. “Why don’t we let them catch up and I take you for a spin on the dance floor?”

“I’d love that, if it’s alright, Mycroft?” she asked, looking at her boyfriend.

“Of course. I’m sure Virginia and I can keep ourselves amused,” he said, and the minute he was done speaking Tony took her to the floor for a faster-paced dance song.

“He seems a little stuffy, but nice,” Tony said, spinning her out and then pulling her back in.

“Who, Mycroft?" Molly asked, and Tony nodded. "He’s a sweetheart, actually, but he hides it beneath a veneer of ice.”

“And I’m sure you get to see the full man.”

“I do,” she said as he dipped her. “He’s a good man. I imagine Virginia thinks the same of you?”

“Call her Pepper.”

Her eyes widened. “As in Pepper Potts?”

“That’s my girl,” he said with a wide grin. “Don’t tell anyone, but I’m planning to propose at some point on this trip.”

“You have my word I’ll keep it a secret,” she said with a grin of her own as the song stopped and the band played a considerably slower song next. “A full dance, perhaps?”

“Why not? You’re an excellent dancer,” he said. He put an arm on her waist and she did the same, and they raised their other hands and clasped them together. “Pepper’s taller than me by a few inches so it’s nice to dance with someone shorter than me.”

“I think Mycroft feels the same way,” Molly said with a chuckle. “Before he would take his assistant to functions like this and they’re practically the same height.”

“I think I’d prefer that, actually. But Pepper is a good dancer. I’m going to try and take her for some time on the dance floor later.”

“She’ll probably enjoy it. You have quite the skill.”

“So tell me more about yourself,” Tony said as they swayed in time to the music. “You have three minutes.”

Molly laughed. “Well, I’m a specialist registrar at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, I work in conjunction with Scotland Yard, I have a cat named Toby, I’ve been dating Mycroft for a year now and I’m madly in love with him.”

“I want more, Ms. Hooper.”

Molly launched into as many things about herself as she could think of that would interest him, and he asked questions and it was a lovely conversation. By the time ended, she knew a little more about him and he knew a lot more about her. He took her back to their dates. “I had fun,” she said, slipping her arm into Mycroft’s and leaning into him.

He leaned over and kissed the top of her head. “I’m glad. May I have the next dance?”

“Of course!” she said. “It’s a nice, slow one, too.”

“I think I’ll take Pepper out on the floor now too,” Tony said. “It was nice dancing with you, Molly.”

“Likewise,” she said, giving him a wide smile. Tony and Pepper left them then and she turned to Mycroft. “Let’s go home after the next dance.”

“Yours or mine?”

She paused. “Yours, which I hope might become ours soon?”

“We can go now,” he said, running his hand down her back.

“Or we can go now,” she said with a nod. She cast a glance at Tony and Pepper, who were swaying close with huge smiles on their faces, and she smiled. She’d get to tell all her friends Iron Man flirted with her and it was nice, but being with Mycroft was better. And that was the honest-to-God truth of the matter.

Angel dust x male reader

Set in the 40s, Im a sucker for a good forbidden romance. (We are all freinds of Dorothy here;])

C/W:mafia, period accurate homophobia, suggestive material(implied fornication), murder, someone gets dragged by the hair, major character death, guns, google translate Italian.

Anthony. His name rolled of the tongue. Anthony. An~tho~ny. When you looked at him, your stomach twisted in knots. You both got out of having to serve in the war due to belonging to the mafia. If anyone found out about your little affaire, you would surely be killed. You looked down to see your beloved Tony curled in the fetal position away from you in bed. "What, was I that bad?" you asked him, only half joking. "Nah toots, I'm just tired. It's...damn what time is it?" "uhhh- how do you not have a clock somewhere in here?" you rolled out of bed with a thunk, pulling on a pair of boxers and looked for your watch. "HA! Found it. Itssss 1:00 AM? Good god!" you laugh, placing your watch back on the floor with the rest of your clothes. All of a sudden you hear footsteps. Not like light and quick like Molly's but heavy and slow like... Henry. Anthony's father. You see, Molly was the only person who knew about you and Anthony. You frantically look around, hopping into the closet. His father bursts into the room. "Anthony, who is in here." you watch your lover panic. "Nobody, pa! I swear! It's just me!" "Questa è una fottuta stronzata Anthony e lo sai, don't lie to me boy!" he begins to look around and his eyes land on the closet. It's as if he can stare straight through your soul. Your palms begin to sweat and tears well in your eyes. Henry pretty much tares the door of the closet off. He pushes you to the ground. "YOU! YOU TURNED MY SON INTO A QUEER" you look at Anthony, sweet Anthony. For a split second you look in his eyes and feel safe. But than Henry kicked you in the stomach and grabs your hair. "PA STOP HE DIDN'T DO NOTHIN'" Anthony cries and drops to the floor, cradling your face. Henry kicks him away from you and begins dragging you outside. "NO PLEASE- PLEASE LET ME GO I'M SORRY" Anthony tries to run after you but his father pulls a gun out of his back pocket "you step one foot closer to me and I shoot you and the fag." "no..." tony falls to his knees. "No pa please..." "anthony I'm gonna be ok" you say, crying. Henry Yanks your hair. "WHO SAID YOU COULD SPEAK QUEER" he pulls you outside and throws you into the mud. He points his gun at you. "No son of mine... No son if mine will be a damn queer. I'm doing the world a favor by making sure you turn no more good men. Any last words?" you look over Henry's shoulder at your lover, screaming and protesting for his father to stop, and you smile at him. "Anthony," you reach out for him "find me on the other side". The last thing you see is your beloved Tony sobbing as he falls for his knees, crying your name. Your life flashes before your eyes as you feel a sharp and unbearable pain in your head. Than, almost like magic, you feel an odd sence of peace. You feel warm and comforted. You see a light. It was almost blinding. Somehow you knew... This... This is heaven.

Would he find you? No. No he wouldn't.

A/N: here’s a little Drabble for our favorite family. I wasn’t so happy with how it ended but I’ve only slept for 6 hours in the last 48👍🏻🥺😴

Henry had his hair pulled back and his apron on. Big beautiful blue eyes followed your every movement. From his place on the step stool he helped you work. You needed to get back to your normal routine and what was more normal than cooking with Henry?

With a smile on his face he does as you ask. Music plays softly from a speaker and you ask him what he was up to while you were gone. It’s a sweet back and forth as you both move around the kitchen. Henry’s found a love for cooking and you’re more than happy to encourage him. Sometimes Lottie helps but she makes more of a mess than anything. Those days were fun too but Henry was taking this very seriously. You watched as he focused on the task in front of him. Furrowed brows and his tongue poking out as he made sure his job was done perfectly.

“Is this good mama?” He looks up at you.

“It’s perfect. Now we have to get everything in the pot.”

You spend the rest of the morning working on a few different dishes. Lottie and Bucky walk in every so often, mostly to be taste testers. When it gets closer to dinner time everyone gets ready to head to the shared dining room.

You were grateful that Sophia had bought the kids an outfit for thanksgiving dinner. There were so many things going on that it was the last thing on your mind but it was their first major holiday and they deserved something special. Lottie wore a shirt and skirt combo with her hair half up and a bow to finish off the look. While Henry left his hair down, his outfit was a t-shirt and jeans. You and Bucky went with sweaters and jeans, something simple but comfortable.

It was good that Tony decided that this year would be family only. Your dad was in the living room watching football with Sophia, Steve, Tony, Joshua and Clint. Bucky joined them after dropping off some of the dishes you’d made. Sam, Sarah, Laura, Pepper, Molly, Luke and now you were going back and forth in the kitchen while the kids ran off to play.

Once everything was ready everyone gathered at the table, even the kids. Everybody got a chance to say what they were grateful for and Henry was next. He kneeled on his chair so that he could be seen.

“I-um,” he looked over at you and Bucky, the nerves getting the better of him. “I’m thankful that you’re my family.”

Some awed at his words.

“I’m thankful that you found me and I don’t have to be with the bad men anymore.” He looks over at Lottie before his eyes settle on you and Bucky. “And I’m thankful for having baby back and that you’re my daddy and my mama.”

Henry gets off his chair and stands between you and Bucky so that he can hug you both. Then he gives Lottie a kiss on the cheek and settles back down on his chair.

Lottie, having picked up what everyone was saying, stands up on her chair. She gets shy for a moment but with some encouragement she speaks up.

“Am tankful fo’ bubba.” She says first and then she lists all of her aunts and uncles and gwandpa, “an am tankful fo’ Steebie.” She gives him a big smile before turning to you. “Am tankful fo’ habing mama home. An habing dada, I lobe dada.” She gets a bit tearful at the end and she reaches for you and then Bucky.

By this point you’re wrecked emotionally but you speak anyway.

“Well,” you clear your throat. “I’m very thankful that I have you all in my life. I’m grateful for being here today, which wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. Most importantly I’m so thankful for you.” You turn to look at Bucky. “Bucky, you make me so happy and I love you so much. I’m so thankful for Henry and Charlotte. I’m so happy to be your mama.” You turn to them to find them both teary eyed. “You two are the best thing to ever happen to me.”

Everyone turns to look at Bucky and he rolls his eyes. You chuckle and elbow him lightly.

“Fine.” He huffs before smiling. “Everything Y/N said.”

Sam throws a bread roll at Bucky which causes everyone to laugh while Sam boos.

“Say something.”

“I’m grateful for everyone except Sam.”

Again everyone laughs.

“But really, I am thankful for all of you. You helped me and the kids during one of the hardest times for us.” Bucky turns and takes your hand. “I’m thankful to have you in my life. I love you so much and you are the best mother to our kids. After being freed I never thought I’d find someone that could love me or want to have children with me and here you are proving me wrong. I’m so lucky to be a father to two of the sweetest kids I’ve ever met.” Bucky leans forward and winks at Lottie and Henry. “I love you two so much. Finally I’m thankful for Ed. You’re a great man, I wouldn’t have made it through the last three months without you.”

“Now that’s a speech.”

“Hey pops, why don’t you carve the turkey?” Tony says as he hands the knife over to Eddie.

“Everyone pay attention. I’m gonna show you how it’s done.”

Dinner was great. Everyone laughed and talked amongst themselves. Henry was praised for the food he helped cook. You could tell how proud he was and you’d told him as much.

After dinner and the clean up everyone moved to the shared living room. There was some dancing, games were played and tipsy karaoke happened. During most of this you and Bucky had taken the love seat. Bucky had one leg stretched out on the couch allowing you to sit with your back resting against his chest. His arms kept you safe and close as your hands intertwined with his. Bucky would press kisses every so often against your temple or he’d comment on whatever was happening. Both of you happily watched the others joke around or sang along. The kids couldn’t contain their happiness as they kept running up to the two of you and expressing how much fun they were having.

Later when the kids were in bed, falling asleep easily from all of their excitement over their first thanksgiving and you were in Bucky’s arms, you couldn’t help but think back at what you survived. It was over and you were back home in the arms of the man you loved and your sweet little ones.

There were so many more firsts the kids would be experiencing and you were thankful that you’d get to be there with them.

Asexual (Kelly Severide x Reader)

Synopsis: Kelly's partner is asexual but he doesn't know

Warnings: Swearing, mentions of sex, not entirely proofread

It was very typical for most members of firehouse 51’s second shift to be at Molly’s on a Friday night (on the off-shift weekend of course).

This Friday night was no different- members of intelligence, various healthcare professionals from med, and firehouse 51 personnel were all a couple drinks in and chatting up a storm.

You found yourself behind the bar on this particular evening- Hermann and Otis needed the help on the busiest day of the week. You had bar-tending experience from college- and also, if we’re being honest, from your personal life. You wore tight letter pants with heels, a tube top, and large hooped earrings- dressing up on nights out was your favourite given that your job doesn’t give you the opportunity to clean up nicely often.

You walked over to your boyfriend Kelly, who was sitting with his fellow squad members- Capp, Tony, and Cruz.

“Can I get you boys any refills?” You smiled politely, tucking your hair behind your ear and tilting your head to the side as you waited for a response. You were leaning over the counter, leaving very minimal distance between you and Kelly.

“Yeah love, get everyone here another beer, and pour some shots- on me.” He winked at you after his request- his way of thanking you. “Coming right up” you tapped the table in front of him and went to grab what he asked for.

“Severide… you don’t even know how lucky you are man. Y/N is a ROCKET” Cruz exclaimed, his eyes wide in order to get the point across.

Kelly chuckled to himself, proud to call you his. “She’s something, that’s for sure.” He said as he looked up at you. As you walked over, you felt his eyes burn into you, following your every move. Your eyes met his, which were full of admiration.

“Here are your beers” you said in a sing-songey voice as you placed a fresh, cold beer in front of each squad member, and took their empty ones to put on your tray. “And here are our shots” you said happily while concentrating on pouring the whiskey in the tiny glasses. Your tongue was sticking out to help you with your precision, which made Kelly giggle.

Each of yous grabbed a shot, and cheersed each other. “To my squad 3 boys!” you said as the glasses clinked, and gliding down your throat the whiskey went.

“Whooo!” you shouted as you placed your shot glass down, not even flinching at the sharp taste.

You put the now empty shot glasses on your tray, and started making your way towards the kitchen. “Enjoy the beers boys” you said while walking away- you could feel the eyes burning into your back as you walked away.

“Did she just down that without flinching?? My god, I didn’t think she could get hotter but that did it for me” Cruz blurted out, the liquor very evidently taking a toll on his decision making processes.

“Hey, that’s my girlfriend you’re talking about, watch out Cruz” Severide joked with him, shooting him a side glance as he took a swig of his beer. He was okay with the fact that Cruz took an interest with you- for one, it’s Cruz, and he knew at the end of the day that he was the one who got to home with you.

Cruz put both of his arms up as if to surrender. “Just appreciating Severide” he said. “Poor Shay living with you guys though, I can imagine that hearing the bed hit the wall every night would get annoying” Cruz teased his lieutenant, earning chuckles from both Tony and Capp.

“Yeah, yeah, believe it or not, we actually haven’t done the deed yet.” Severide confessed, not ashamed to open up about his sex life- he’s slept with the entire city of Chicago already and everyone knows that.

“What?!! What are you waiting for. Knowing your history, I’m surprised you guys didn’t sleep together the second she started working at 51” it was now Capp’s turn to tease.

“Hey, I’m following her lead. It’s not up to me boys” Kelly says wholeheartedly. The rest of the boys nodding in a mixture of agreement and defeat. “But yeah, hopefully soon” he confesses.

Little did he know, you could hear their entire conversation from the kitchen. He didn’t say anything you wouldn’t approve of, and to be fair, you shared the intimate details of your relationship with Shay and Dawson. But you did notice a hint of disappointment in his voice when he shared that you guys hadn’t had sex yet. Followed with his ‘hopefully soon’ wish, the pit in your stomach grew even bigger.

You were yet to tell your boyfriend of 3 months that you were asexual. Knowing his reputation as the firefighter man whore of Chicago, wanting to have sex seems like a prerequisite to date him. You didn’t want him to look at you differently, and this led to you putting off having the conversation with him- or not acting interested in sex around him for that matter.

You knew exactly who you needed to talk to. You walked out of the kitchen and scanned the bar, waiting until your eyes found Dawson. As soon as you did, you whisper yelled “Dawson!” as you sped walked over to her.

“Can I steal her for a sec?” you looked between Dawson and Matt eagerly. Casey picked up on your urgency quickly- he motioned towards the empty seat next to him.

“Actually, I need a smoke, I’ll bring her right back- thanks Matt!” The end of your sentence was spoken as you were already halfway across the bar. Matt looked at you guys walk out with a look of confusion, wondering why you needed to talk to her so badly.

You held Gabby’s arm and led her out the back door. “Yes?!” she scanned your face in an attempt to find a hint as to why you dragged her outside- she crossed her arms, an attempt to keep herself protected from the cold Chicago weather.

You took a cigarette out of your pack and preceded to light it- you weren’t a big smoker, unless you were drunk or stressed. In this instance, you were both.

“Could you uhm come lingerie shopping with me tomorrow? Or like let me borrow something. I don’t know, whichever, I mean if you’re not doing anything tomorrow, I know it’s your day o-“ “Hey, hey, slow down. What is it?” Gabby asked, unable to even decipher what you had just said. “Sorry” you bent your knees up and down, an attempt to keep warm as you continued to take drags of your dart.

“I need lingerie, Gabby. I haven’t bought any in a long time, so I don’t have any that fit, or look good for that matter. You are the definition of sex appeal, I mean you’ve gotta help me.” When you had spat out your sentence, you took another drag and blew out the smoke to the side when you were done.

“Okay but why do you need lingerie. Nothing wrong with surprising your man or anything, but this sounds like it’s an emergency.” Gabby stated.

“So like, Kelly and I haven’t really had sex yet” you muttered under your breath very quickly.

“What was that?” Gabby asked you to repeat yourself, holding up a cupped hand to her ear for theatrics.

You looked at her with a face that read ‘don’t make me repeat it, it was painful enough to admit the first time’.

“Kelly and I haven’t had sex yet” you said slowly and matter o’factly.

Gabby had a shocked look on her face- her eyes wider than Cruz’s when he saw your ass in your leather pants earlier that night.

“Oh- Ohh. Oh but that’s not a big deal. I mean is it? Why haven’t you guys.” Gabby held onto both of your forearms in an attempt to consolidate you.

“The opportunity just never arose, honestly, so I want to give him some bait y’know?” You avoided eye contact with her as you lied straight to her face- throwing your cigarette on the ground and crushing it with your heel.

“The opportunity to have sex with Severide never arose?” Gabby asked in bewilderment, knowing what you were telling her didn’t add up.

“Yeah Gabby, I know you all think of him as this sex machine, but like I don’t know maybe he’s trying to be a gentlemen?” you announced your bullshit proposition to her, hoping she would just buy it.

“Hmm. Good for you Severide. Thinking with the head attached to your body instead of the head on your dick” Gabby congratulated him knowing damn hell he couldn’t hear her- and thank god for that.

“But yeah, I’m totally down to go to Victoria’s Secret or whatever with you. Matt will be out all day at a job so you can come over” Gabby suggested.

“Thank you so much Gabs, seriously.” You hugged her and led her back inside.

“There are our girls!” Casey shouted, his arms open waiting for Gabby to enter them.

You snuck up behind Severide and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Wanna go out for dinner tomorrow night?” You asked him as your head rested on his shoulder. “Of course babe, you pick the spot.” You gave him a squeeze in return, hugging him from behind.

“Hey, enough canoodling Y/L/N, the first responders of Chicago need their booze” Hermann teased, but you also know he was being dead serious. “Duty calls” you whispered in Severide’s ear, and joined Hermann behind the bar.

“Mamacitaaaaa aye aye aye” Gabby shouted as you exited the change room in the most revealing lingerie set known to man kind. “Is my nipple hanging out?” you looked down, trying to adjust the pads of the bra to provide more coverage- there wasn’t a lot of fabric.

“Gimme a spin.” You obliged and twirled around, scared to have a wardrobe malfunction if you moved the slightest bit. “Okay maybe don’t spin like you’re about to piss your pants- let loose!” Gabby encouraged you. “I don’t know, Gabs, this is so uncomfortable, how am I supposed to wear this all night?!“ You inspected your body in the mirror.

“Beauty is pain my friend, and in this case it’s worth it because that set looks incredible on you. Kelly is going to lose his mind.” She stated confidently, once again making your stomach turn. You didn’t want to have sex with Kelly - not because you didn’t find him attractive (you just didn’t have sexual feelings for anyone period) - but you knew it would make him happy, and you would do anything to make him happy. He moves mountains for you; to meet his needs in bed would be the least you could do in return, right?

“If you think it’ll help seal the deal tonight, consider it bought” you stated with a slight inconvenience in your tone as you entered back into the change room. You could hear Gabby clapping and squealing outside.

You guys went back to Gabby’s apartment after your shopping trip- she was helping you get dolled up for you and Severide’s date.

“So I was thinking this dress, with these shoes… is this a look?” You held up the outfit you envisioned you would be wearing tonight, and presented it to Gabby. “Yes, 100% it is, but I had a better idea in mind” she replied with a devious look on her face, one side of her mouth lifted up to the side in a smirk.

She rummages through her closet until she finds exactly what she was looking for. “Is that to go over top?” you asked, curious about the beige trench coat she was holding up in front of you. “Yes- but not over top of the dress…” You were confused. If not over top of the dress, than…

“You want me to go commando?!?!?!” You stood up and shouted, looking at her like she had 3 heads. Maybe she wasn’t the right person to go to for sex advice… she was WAY more adventurous than you.

“Why not? That way, when you get home you just take it off and reveal yourself. Then Severide will put 2 and 2 together and realize you’ve been wearing just that all night. It’ll add some spice y’know?” She waved the jacket in front of your face, trying to sell the idea to you.

“Gabby you’ll be the death of me” you walked up to her and grabbed the jacket from her hands, proceeding to go to the bathroom and change. Once again, she clapped and squealed, jumping up and down in excitement.

From the bathroom, you could hear knocks on the door. You looked at your watch and noticed it was already 7- Kelly was here.

“Shit!!!” you exclaimed as you tried to put on your garter. For you it was like a rubix cube. You nearly tripped over air as you attempted to step into it, and Gabby could hear you stumbling around. “Y/N??? Kelly’s here!!” she announced excitedly, and you could hear footsteps receding out of the bedroom.

You eventually got your outfit on, and threw the jacket on top. You gave yourself one last look in the mirror, sprayed some perfume, and you were out the door.

“Wow.” Kelly said as soon as he saw you. You had dolled yourself up real nice- a full face of makeup, curled hair, and a nice pair of diamond earrings as well as a necklace around your neck. “You clean up nice, Y/L/N” Kelly said, eyeing you up and down. You could tell he was slightly confused about the jacket, but decided not to question it. “I could say the same for you Kel” you brushed his shoulder with your hand and adjusted his collar.

“Why do I feel like a mother watching her daughter go to prom” Gabby said, earning a chuckle from yourself and Kelly. You engulfed her in a hug, and said thank you. She whispered “Go get em’ tiger” in your ear so that Kelly couldn’t hear, and slapped your bum as you walked out. You squealed, and closed the door of her apartment behind you. “Ready?” Kelly asked you, reaching out for your hand. “Of course.”

“Lemme take your jacket” Kelly stood behind you as you were about to take your seat, waiting for you to remove your detective coat given you were now indoors. You were hyperaware of the fact that you had no restaurant-appropriate garments on underneath, so you immediately said “No no! I’m good!” Kelly appeared startled at your decline, and you assured him it was because you were cold- in reality, you were quite the opposite, your anxiety causing you to break out in a sweat.

You had picked a fancy Italian restaurant on Canal street called Gibsons Italia. Given you and Kelly’s busy schedules, it was hard to find time for date night, so you cherished nights out together even more due to their rarity. You ordered your food and began catching up with one another.

“What’d you do today babe?” Kelly asked, taking a sip of his beer. “Gabby and I just hung out and then went shopping, nothing out of the ordinary just a super chill day” you responded nervously. You squirmed around in your seat, very visibly anxious. You were having a hard time adjusting your body language to mimic a non-anxious person.

“Sounds nice.” Kelly nodded, sensing something was up. “You okay?” he said quietly, caressing your knuckles with the pad of his thumb, not wanting to make the situation a big deal. “100%, just hungry to be honest” you lied to him. What you really wanted to say is ‘No, I am not okay, my bra is so padded I feel like I’m wearing a straightjacket, I am about to pass out from overheating but I can’t take this coat off, and I’m going to try to have sex with you tonight even though I don’t want to.’

You both were relatively quick to eat, and when you were done you both decided to head back to the apartment for a movie. Shay was staying with Gabby (as per Gabby’s request) so that you and Kelly could have the place to yourselves.

He opened the passenger door of his mustang for you. “Thank you, love” you said as you slipped in, accidentally flashing your bare thigh to him.

“Are you naked under there?” He peaked his head into the car as he questioned in disbelief; he had one hand on the top of his car, the other on the car door. “Uhm no, no, my dress is just super short, it’s hiking up and I haven’t had the chance to fix it.” Great. Your sultry surprise was ruined. “I see.” He nodded, once again trying to internally come up with an explanation as to why you were acting so weird.

The drive back to your guys’ apartment was quick. You walked in and as Kelly had his back faced towards you so he could lock the door, you figured this would be a perfect time for your - not so grand - reveal.

“Ta-da” you said, opening the sides of the coat as soon as he turned around. You were unaware of where this newfound confidence came from, but the look on his face did not disappoint. “So this is why you were all giddy during dinner” he said with a smirk on his face, slowly walking towards you. Yeah, that and other things more or less.

“Wanted to catch you off guard, lieutenant” you rose your arms to place them around his neck. The lieutenant script was encouraged by Gabby, who swore to you that that was the secret to turning on Casey- so it should work for Severide. And her theory was correct.

“Well it worked. You look fuckin’ sexy” he leant down to give you a kiss, which led to a heated makeout sesh. He tapped your bum as a signal for you to jump up and lifted you. Him running towards the bedroom caused you to squeal. “Kel!!! You’re going to drop me” you exclaimed, holding onto his broad shoulders for dear life. He laid you down in bed, and immediately attached his lips to yours. The energy emitting from him was animal-like- you really unleashed a monster.

So far so good. Your anxiety was much lower than it was before, and you guys have had many makeout sessions, just nothing that’s escalated. It was when he began to unclasp your bra - with one hand might I add - that you began to get nervous. He’s no doubt very experienced. He took it off in one swift motion, causing your chest to now be bare to him. “So beautiful” he whispered in between wet, sloppy kisses planted on your neck.

Your breathing began to quicken, and this is when you knew your cover-up was about to be blown. “Kel- Kelly” you said, but he thought you were just moaning his name in response. His head was buried deep in your neck, and it was quite dark in your bedroom- he wasn’t able to notice the state of anxiety you were in. “K- Kelly” It was hard to get words out as you were completely overwhelmed with the situation.

You began to shake, and you felt like you couldn’t get a full breath in. Before he continued to move down your body, kissing you, he noticed something wasn’t right- you weren’t being as responsive, and that’s when he knew you were having an anxiety attack.

“Y/N? Baby? Are you okay?” he got off of you in a hurry and reached over to turn the lamp on. “It’s okay, you’re okay.” He rubbed your back up and down in an attempt to soothe you. He grabbed the blanket on the edge of the bed and wrapped it around you, covering you up. At this point, your lips were chattering and you were rocking back and forth, barely aware of your surroundings.

“I’m sorry, Kel” you saw the look of worry in his face and just began bawling. “Hey, hey, shhh, you’re okay” he allowed you to lean into his chest, and he put his chin on the top of your head as he caressed your hair.

“I’m asexual, Kelly.” You said to him once you managed to control your breathing, avoiding eye contact with him. “You’re gonna have to help me out here love, I’m not entirely sure what that means.” Kelly was the opposite of asexual- so you figured he would definitely have a hard time understanding what it meant.

“I don’t have any desires to have sex, and I usually don’t experience any sexual attraction. I’m still very much romantically attracted to you, but in terms of sex, I don’t want to engage in it. I mean I’m not entirely opposed to it, which is why I thought I’d try it tonight, but I think I jumped the gun.” Kelly nodded his head slowly- you could tell he was making an effort to understand.

“So why did you jump the gun? And why didn’t you tell me about this before? Sex isn’t everything in a relationship, Y/N. At least not to me” he assured you.

“I overheard you tell squad that we haven’t had sex yet, and you seemed disappointed. You said ‘hopefully soon’ so I thought what’s sooner than tomorrow night. And c’mon, you’re the Kelly Severide, you’re known to be the man who enjoys a good time in bed. I just wanted to be the person to give it to you.” You felt a little better now that the beans have been spilt, but you’re also hesitant to hear his response.

“Y/N, sex to me is only just an added bonus. You give me everything I could possibly ask for already. Forget about my past, I’m only focused on my relationship with you. And of course I was looking forward to sharing an intimate moment with you, but I would’ve never tried something if I knew you were uncomfortable. You don’t have to pretend just to please me, Y/N, or force yourself to do something you don’t want to.”

He looked so serious while talking, as if his facial expression was going to further convince you how his priority is your comfortableness.

“I just want you to be happy with our relationship” you mumbled, twiddling your fingers to cope with your anxiety.

“I am!” he lifted your chin with his index finger so you were looking at him. “And if I wasn’t for whatever reason, I would communicate that to you. It goes both ways though- you gotta keep me in the loop. You can tell me anything- I promise.”

You can tell just by the tone of his voice that he was being sincere. You brought the blanket up to your chin and snuggled into his chest, muttering “I love you Kel. Thank you for understanding.” Giving the side of your head a kiss, he responded “love you princess, no matter what. Here, let’s get into some comfy clothes.”

You watched as he walked over to your guys’ dresser and rummaged through the pjs. You were truly blessed to have such a loving partner. You felt cherished, you felt loved, and you felt safe.

You hadn’t expected Severide to run his mouth. It had been a one-night stand when you’d first transferred to Chicago after a messy divorce five years ago. Two lonely hearts finding each other in the midst of the turbulence and carving out a shallow connection, it had been over and done with. You’d seen him since but the two of you moved in different orbits and you were glad for it. It was in Molly’s one night he brought up the headboard. He’d had a little too much to drink and was proclaiming you owed him one since you’d broken his headboard that time.

It was long in the past but the idea of another man’s hands on you especially Severide’s drove Antonio crazy. He was pissed that the other man had brought it up in the first place. He knew about the one-night stand, knew that there were no feelings there at least not on your side but that savage urge to claim you vibrated through him. The thought of Severide’s hands on you made him want to spend the night tangled up in you, kissing you, reminding you who you belonged to.

He was quiet on the drive home, his dark eyes glinting in the light from the streetlamp. You could see the tension in his jaw, the way the skin stretched white over his knuckles as he grasped the steering wheel. His right hand deviated from the gear stick, instead coming to rest upon your knee. His thumb smoothed over the indentation as his fingertips brushed over the hem of your dress, pushing it higher.

“I hate the thought of his hands on you.” Antonio told you, bunching the fabric tightly in his hand so that the lace began to tear. “I hate the thought of him kissing you, fucking you.”

“Toni.” You said, your fingers entwined with his before you guided his hand between your legs. “You’re the only man I want, the only one that has ever made me feel like I’m worth something.”

He inclined his head towards you.

“Baby, you mean everything to me.” He told you, his fingertip grazing over your moist core through the cotton of your panties. You were soaking already, the material sticking to the outline of your clit as his finger traced over it slowly.

You don’t make it home. You end up in the empty carpark of a movie theatre, in the backseat of the car. Your panties are long gone, tossed God knows where. “Tell me, I’m the only one.” He snarled, his hand in your hair, winding it tightly around his fist as he forced you to look into his furious black eyes. “Tell me I’m the only one that’s ever fucked you this good.”

“Toni, there’s no one else that has made me feel the way you do, no one else I love more than you. No one else who can fuck like me this.” You uttered, your fingers carding through his hair. His hands came to rest upon your hips, fingertips digging into your flesh as he thrust up into you.

“You gonna cum for me baby?” He growled against your skin. “Gonna squeeze my dick so tight that I cum inside of you? Would you like that?”

“Fuck Toni.” You breathed, pink flushing across your cheeks. “I need it. I need you.”

Hopefully you or some of your wonderful followers can help me out with a really odd question: what is the difference between an AU and a crossover fic?

This might sound silly, but I've always assumed that a crossover is something like "Sherlock and John, while solving a case, cross paths with Mulder and Scully who are also trying to solve their mystery, and they join up to work together." vs. an AU is more like "Sherlock and John are solving cases in the X-Files universe" and their characters are like combinations: Sherlock/Mulder and John/Scully. But the characters from X-Files don't actually exist in the fic.

Or even fics that are just a completely new universe altogether, not necessarily based on an already known one (like Sherlock and John are from Las Vegas and Sherlock the always winning poker player is under suspicion from security guard John that he is cheating, and that is how they meet, etc etc) would be considered an AU.

Anyway, that is how I've always filtered on AO3 when searching. But now I've come across a few lately that are tagged AU but when I start reading them, they are more what I consider crossover fics (which aren't my preference, sorry. I just don't care to read about Sherlock and Iron Man working together lol).

Maybe I've missed out on some great fics that were tagged as crossover but were actually AU's? Is my assumption of which one is which completely off base? Other than reading every fic until it's obvious which type of story it is, is there a better way to at least get an idea for filtering purposes?

I don't want to miss out on fantastic fics because I don't really understand what they're about because I've misunderstood all along!

Alright, so here's how _I_ personally understand it, and I'm probably totally off-piste, but it's how I've always understood and try my best in my sorting of fics. PLEASE note that EVERYTHING BELOW is how I PERSONALLY UNDERSTAND it all.

Generally, there's a VERY thin line between AUs and Crossovers AND it also melts into Fusion fics as well.

Alternate Universes:

Basically, AU (or Alternate Universe, for my newbie lovelies) is the "larger umbrella term" that all fics NOT following canon events have. These can be as simple as a non-canon-compliant fic, but GENERALLY it's understood as stories that take place in different franchises, eras, timelines, professions, species, etc. That's the broader definition. It covers everything, really. It doesn't necessarily mean just other franchises, but it can contain them.

But in terms of "this story with BBC Sherlock Characters takes place during the Avengers" for instance, each character from BBC Sherlock REPLACES a character in the Avengers. They would never ever meet any of the cast of the main Avengers IF they are a replacement character.

So let's say we're adapting the Avengers. For the sake of this example: Sherlock is Tony, John is Captain America, Molly is Black Widow, etc. Now THOSE characters in the Avengers franchise should never show up AS those characters. We are doing one-for-one replacements to put Sherlock Characters into the MCU AS Iron Man, AS Black Widow, AS Captain America. Tony, Natasha, and Steve cannot exist in this universe.

(as an aside though, given the MCU's current state of Variants existing in multiverses, it can be argued that they can exist, but I'm being pedantic... for the sake of this example let's say they don't)

TL:DR; we replace main characters with other main characters, and those main characters from either franchise should never meet. So TECHNICALLY what is labelled for your example is actually correct (Crossovers and AU), and unfortunately the filtering needs to be whittled down more. Filtering by "Alternate Universe" does NOT guarantee no-Crossovers, so you will have to add crossovers as an exclusion in your filtered terms. On AO3, there is a place to select exclusions, so just type in "Crossovers" there, or character names.

Crossovers and Fusions

I'm grouping these two together because my understanding of these two is that they're PRETTY close to each other enough that they do overlap.

Crossovers are stories that characters from one franchise meet and interact with characters from another franchise; no characters are omitted intentionally, and don't replace other characters in a story. For instance, in a Harry Potter AU, the Sherlock gang all go to Hogwarts, and Harry and Co. all exist and continue on with their story, probably interact occasionally, but we're focusing on the Sherlock gang and their exploits rather than Potter people.

Fusion stories, or my understanding of them anyway, is one of two things:

You have characters that replace SOME of the characters but keep OTHER characters from Universe 2 to interact with Universe 1. Let's go back to the Avengers sample; Sherlock (Tony), John (Steve) and Molly (Natasha) meet and interact with Bruce Banner and Clint. Now it's a FUSION of two universes, interacting and existing based on the actions of what our BBC AvengersLock is doing.

A fusion can ALSO be adapting or using a franchise storyline as inspiration for the plotline of what an author is writing, ie. the rules of ONE franchise's universe can be brought into another. So you can have a FUSION of Sherlock and the X-Files by adapting an X-Files episode as inspiration for the story with BBC Sherlock characters, but doesn't necessarily take place in the X-Files Universe, just simply the rules of the X-Files universe apply also to the BBC Sherlock Universe.

ALL that said, the gist of what I'm trying to say is this: All Crossovers and Fusions are Alternate Universes, but not all Alternate Universes are Crossovers/Fusions.
