live blog under the cut

Heads up about half way through I realized I go a bit further into analysis on where Zolf & the Kobolds are mentally than some people might be comfortable with. Just as they trust us to back off if the episode gets to real, I am trusting you to close the tab if my little live blog is hitting you wrong. If it makes a difference I have years between me and the reason I relate to this stuff.

"In Memorium" they are trying to kill us Ah they lampshaded the speed intros Yes Alex it is rather Paris Right to Azu & Zolf. Oh he's jumping right in. And there's my first pause of the episode. No “better” isn't a magic finish line you pass then never find yourself in that place again. No, knowing that doesn't mean you don't wonder if your back at square one every time you realize You Are In A Bad Place and Not Handling it Well. Gosh Azu is good at this. Yeah learning to walk away is hard. Learning to ignore the part of yourself that says "and never come back for their sake" is harder. Symbolic much Alex (Zolf is too small for the room, Azu is too large) Yeah it would be easier to not blame Zolf for last episode if I related to him a bit less. Okay they are talking about Hamid and their concerns for him directly. Yeah Hamid's relationship with power & privilege is an arc; and without the Doylist level of trusting Bryn & Alex, I can see where even if you trust/like him you'd be worried about it. With the best of intentions people misuse power. Azu quoted Grizzop at Zolf. Didn't name him, wonder if Zolf is ever going ask directly about his replacement in canon or if its best left to fic. Its easy to dismiss one's own successes. Okay fair and OW, Zolf isn't up to talking about Sasha; which is the part of this I was most prepared for. Hell yeah! He is coming down but not going to be attempting to lead so as to relieve pressure on himself. Maybe if he can let Hamid step up without making a Kew Garden thing he'll see how much he's grown. Hopefully without that setting off a "Hamid does better without me" thing. Yeah intellectual knowledge and it feeling real on an emotional level are very different things. Alex, why does it matter what order they are in? ALEX? The necklace? The Heart of Aphrodite shaped necklace? Azu got a Sign from Aphrodite approving of her reaching out to Zolf as an act of love. Yes! Blue Black no take backs! Yeah those two (players) know exactly what they are doing: breaking my heart in the best ways and not skipping over the actual work those two (characters) need to put into their relationship with OOC "its all fine now"s. Ok that settles the timeline, Azu went up same night, the device isn't made yet. Yeah Zolf wouldn't, probably best to back off while things are tender while being present enough to assure he isn't planning on leaving. Seriously bless Azu, this has to be at least as hard on her as Helen but she is letting the boys have room to work it out for themselves instead of "trying to help". The last thing either of them need right now is pressure especially on this point. Aw the Kobolds teach Cel draconic. Oh smart kid, not only is it just logical for the Kobolds to work with Cel directly, it might help them get over the "looking to see if the boss approves of how you breathe" stage. Especially if he is clear about not being threatened by them having advantage over him in this area. Heck of a relief this isn't hitting my rank issues. Ooh all the Kobolds are amazing engineers, wonder if its a Kobold thing or if Skraak recruited people with similar interests. Nice rework of the "Kobolds build traps" thing from pathfinder. I genuinely love how instead of pitching the original description of Kobolds out the window, Alex has backwards engineered it. Reputation for traps isn't a dishonorable approach to fighting, its a sign of their skill. They aren't minions, their trauma is interacting with a cultural attitude about rank in weird ways. Oh Cel! Cel is amazing. Under Shoin's orders they: made Magic Steroids, did maintenance (more towards the end as Shoin wasn't taking care of things), built the place initially, sourced ingredients, other Kobolds built the Mechkraken. Damn Shoin, they can't even be proud of all they were able to do in adverse circumstances because he tainted it. If they weren't forced to do it and have it used for ill ends, building the kraken would be impressive. A lot of that sounds like difficult work. Hamid stuff: yeah it is from a place of fear; and they would be hypersensitive and need to try to "defend him" so he doesn't react. Terrified of his anger? Handle anything that even annoys him to cut it off at the pass. And being a good person who doesn't like scaring them, Hamid is going to over do the very "Mary Sunshine" routine that makes Zolf think he doesn't appreciate the gravity of the situation. You'd think Mr "do a grief later" would get that Hamid doesn't have to walk the halls wailing to be aware of the end of the world. Not that the kid can win, if he cried and threw up it would be proof he hasn't grown from season one. Hopefully by taking a back seat Zolf will have a chance to see Hamid's actions and realize being chipper & wholesome doesn't mean stupid. Oh Alex has thought this through, one of these days I'll quit being surprised he actually gets this stuff. Not being able to read the person whose emotions feel like life & death is a Bad Thing. Thank Alex for Skraak. Weird seeing this stuff from this side, of course learning to focus on my end instead of being preoccupied with what was going on in the heads of people who were on Hamid's end of it was rather the point. Perfect balance, Hamid gives them enough space to realize he isn’t going to explode, Skraak "translates" into something clear enough not to stress them out. Like when Zolf snapped at Skraak when he pledged to Hamid; might not be pretty but not knowing what The Powers That Be want? Very bad place. Rank and clear orders are very important when appeasing those who outrank you is everything. Cel has dealt with a lot of young and unsure apprentices!?! Yeah well Cel isn't in their chain of command and gears don't get offended if you have an opinion on the right way to configure them. Cel is great Azu & Hamid talking about Zolf! Helen is wonderful! I thought this was going to be drawn out and indirect, instead they are actually facing things head on and dealing with them. Aw these two are so good for each other. Azu would set aside her own emotions. Hot damn Azu, getting right to it! Hamid can be amazingly open about his self awareness and it surprises me every time. It fits him and is a very good thing, but going from answering "how are you?" with "the Kobolds are doing well" to "I never knew how to help him" without it being jarring made me do quite the double take. Guess I was expecting more deflection. Yeah well you two are redefining your boundaries, entire relationship, and rank in specific, while being the perhaps the only people with enough of the picture to figure out how to save the world. Working out the balance between conflicting views on that, when neither of you knows what the end will look like was never going to be smooth. Oh yes and none of you have directly addressed that half of Zolf's rank & dick measuring stuff is because he doesn't know if he even has a role if he isn't The Boss or The Healer.* Oh the grin in Alex's voice as he tells them there is something else before the brorb interview. Whisky tumblers for each? Quite a sigh there Ben News? Big news? While they were in the institute? They ought to sit down. Wilde get to it. Ah Azu & Hamid are holding hands. Poor kid with his prop. Letter? Ancient Rome? Sasha? Are all the fics coming true? Their founder "Askingus"!?! Oh Sasha, oh Zolf! Lydia! Oh the kids! She named the kids after the party. She even found her faith. A break? How the hell are we only half way through the episode. Also hell yeah Lydia deserves all the awards, that was an amazing letter. XD Ben! Oh Hamid, we reacted that way to the epilogue that way too. It really is okay, it was a good end. Yeah he could use a drink. Poor Zolf. Hamid gives Wilde a hug. "technically I think that makes Sasha my boss". XP be cryptic Alex, The RSB will have it figured out by Friday. Ok Zolf got to read the letter on his own. Azu lit 3 candles, because Helen wants me to cry. Hamid is at Zolf's door with a bottle and two glasses. Lydia this is a compliment to your skill. More direct than I expected from Hamid. Oh these two! Okay he is drunk enough to go there (angry at Zolf for leaving but he gets it). About time someone told Zolf directly he's grown. Aw Zolf puts him to bed. Thank you Alex! Ben! (okay fair, if any of Hamid was left he'd cuddle). Sorry Cel! Lydia wanted to break/heal our hearts more than she wanted the plot to move forward ;) Good plan: take the orb to the anti magic field, only those who have already talked to it can talk directly. Info control. Hive mind/telepathy directly addressed. Finally what Shoin eats is addressed. Ok Cel has some teeth on them. Hasn't fed it, is using the vibration to threaten to explode his brain, (no English doesn't have enough pronouns we are working on it)... Oh good point better feed it. Aw Zolf is possessive of the kitchen. Shoin is still Shoin. Cel is not happy about not being recognized. Nice to hear the boys working together. The Infection might block him from being directly aware of being infected. Bullsh$% he backed himself up. Good point Zolf even if he does, they are separate lives, this instance can still fear death. Oh all the party have teeth, nice they don't have the "good guys have to be sweet & gentle with the baddies" thing Yeah Cel isn't stupid, the brorbs arm isn't a threat. Oh auto painting that will make the people theorizing on the bio side of how the Brorb works happy. A circulatory diagram, and am ocean of faces. Paints like a printer. A creepy charcoal sketch of London staring at the artist. *I swear on Rusty Tower if they let him hurt himself any worse because he thinks his new role is "a brick wall on wheels" I am joining the line to fight Ben in a Whetherspoons parking lot. Yes it would be in character but so would healing. There are other hills. Although seriously its been great having a character that shows so many of the aspects of depression that usually get left out. That Zolf is also a three dimensional character with a full personality beyond just "the one with mental health issues" while not making it look like those issues are tacked on or easy to handle? Stunning work.

Summary: Patton is alone at home and is enjoying this time dancing and filling himself with pride (Extremely self-indulgent but at this point all my fanfics are like this and I have no shame at all so yeah xP)

Being alone at home was always one of the best things that could happen for Patton.

Not because he doesn’t like his family but because he enjoys the freedom of being alone. And this time, the house would be all his for the whole day. His parents were taking his brother to see if they could fix his hearing-aid or buy him another one. And after that they would take him for a sleepover at the twins house and go out to celebrate their marriage birthday. It was simply P E R F E C T.

Patton noticed his brother walking in the room and sitting on the sofa in front of him while their parents were going back and forth taking everything they need. He knew what that meant. That’s usually what they do when they want to talk privately. Patton paused his music player and left the cellphone behind.

- Sorry about your hearing aid, D - he signed with a sad face.

The last sign made him sulk

- I adore when you call me like this - he said rolling his eyes when pointing his index and middle finger to the side and touching his heart so Patt would know he was being sarcastic. He giggled.

- Ok, can you teach me the s-n-a-k-e sign again, please?

D made a two with his fingers, pointing to Patton, brought his hand to his chin then lowered it with a zig-zag movement like a snake moving. He repeated the movement but instead of a two he rised his index finger and touched the other ones together forming a “d” with his hand.

He gave him the thumbs up. D’s love for snakes made him really happy for being given this sign.

- Don’t worry about my hearing aid - he showed his broken aid, hand painted as a snake – I’ll paint a new one if we can’t fix it

- What are you doing with this one then?

He shrugged then placed his index and thumb together under his nose and slid it on his upper lip before crossing his fingers. “Mustache” followed by “R”.

The sign he gave to one of the twins.

- Remus asked if I can give it to him if we can’t fix. Maybe he wants to open it? I don’t know

Patton smiled and gave him a malicious face.

- You will be cuddling with your boyfriend!

- Remus is not my boyfriend! - he sulked while grunting.

Patton tried not giggling too loud, since D could still hear something from his right ear.

- Ok, he’s your crush. I hope you’ll have fun

He rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything else to defend himself.

- You’re lucky you don’t have a crush. I’ll make your life a living hell when you do!

Patt snorted.

- Good luck

“… with that” he meant.

Patton took some of his clothes off having just a baby blue long T-shirt covering his brown-skinned body, feeling the wind from the open window run through him. He spinned around the room and laid down to the sofa, grabbing his phone and scrolling to see if there were any new messages for him.

Roman (7:01 AM): Good morning~ Who is ready for today?

Virgil (7:02 AM): Ro, it’s 7 in the fucking morning

Virgil (7:02 AM): Lemme sleep

Roman (7:02 AM): I’m sorry, lil sunshine

Roman (7:03 AM): But if you actually were sleeping you wouldn’t be answering it!

Virgil (7:05 AM): Ooooor maybe I WAS sleeping but then a stupid bird sound woke me up!

Roman (7:05 AM): Not my fault if you sleep with your phone glued to your face!

Logan (7:05 AM): Can you stop bickering this early in the morning?

Logan (7:05 AM): We’ll be ready when the time comes, Roman. No need to rush.

Roman (7:07 AM): Oh my lovely nerd

Roman (7:07 AM): I meant to ask if you were excited

Roman (7:07 AM): Not if you were literally ready.

Roman (7:08 AM): The movie is only at 7 PM

Virgil (7:08 AM): I’m extremely excited, your highness

Virgil (7:09 AM): Now would you please stop texting here and let me sleep?

Roman (7:09 AM): As you wish, my love <3

Virgil (7:10 AM): -_- <3

Virgil (10:23 AM): Ok, now I’m up

Patton (10:30 AM): Good morning, my dears ^_^ <3

Patton (10:30 AM): Are you going to the movies today?

Virgil (10:33 AM): Sup, Patt

Virgil (10:35 AM): Yeah… I kinda won 3 movie tickets…

Virgil (10:35 AM): We’d call you but the movie isn’t really your type

Virgil (10:36 AM): I’m so sorry, Patt :( I didn’t mean to exclude you or anything…

Patton (10:36 AM): No no! I didn’t feel like this at all, love!

Patton (10:37 AM): Don’t worry! I’m happy that you’re goin out!

Patton (10:37 AM): Send me pictures of you once you meet, I wanna see your pretty faces <3 <3

Virgil (10:38 AM): Are you sure? :/

Roman (10:39 AM): Patt, you’re just as important as any of us. We don’t want to make you feel like a third wheel.

Logan (10:39 AM): Just because you’re not involved with us romantically that doesn’t make our platonic feelings for you less important.

Virgil (10:40 AM): Just tell us if something is bothering you, ok?

Roman (10:40 AM): Yes, if you want we can try to see each other earlier so even if you don’t go to the movie we can at least see each other

Logan (10:40 AM): Yes, we’d gladly do this for you

Patton’s smile got wider. He was being sincere when he said he wasn’t feeling excluded and he knew how genuine that invitation was because they all genuinely loved him as much as he did and in the same way he did.

As strong as everything he could feel.

They were the friends he never wanted to miss, they were the people he could always count for and know they’d do anything to help him just like he’d do anything for them and they didn’t need to be in love with each other for it.

Patton (10:43 AM): You’re amazing, loves <3 But really I’m not feeling like going anywhere today. D went out with our parents and I’ll be alone the whole day, I think I’ll spend this time with myself here at home ^_^ But I appreciate it, really. I love you so much ;u; <3

Roman (10:43 AM): Anything for you, my dear! Enjoy your day!

Virgil (10:43 AM): We love you, ok? We’ll make sure to include you next time.

Virgil (10:43 AM): Promise

Logan (10:44 AM): Tell us if you need something or change your mind

Patton swiped the chat group off and searched for something to listen while baking some cookies

“I know exactly what I want and who I wanna be. I know exactly why I walk and talk like a machine I’m now becoming my own self-fulfilled prophecy” Marina and the Diamonds - Oh No!

Patton was mouthing the lyrics while scooping the cookie dough. His shoulders wiggling with the song’s catchy rhythm as he felt every beat controlling his body.

Patton didn’t really listen to Marina and the Diamonds so often but Roman successfully made him addicted to this song. Last time he came to sleepover they danced together the whole night and without noticing they were practically lip-synching this song, which was so amazing and powerful that Patton never left this rush go.

He turned the stove on, started the chronometer and just left the music flowing through his body

Patton twirled off the kitchen, the wind following his movements filling his legs with a chilling sensation that would only make his movements more and more powerful.

He was throwing his head back with his eyes closed, shaking it so hard that Patton could feel the curls of his hair touching his cheeks making him smile as bright as the sun.

That’s what he likes the most about being alone. As long as nobody could see he could be as cheerful, loud and expressive as he wants without any judgement. He could manage to make his entire body feel happiness and express it in it’s own way.

He could shake his as weird and as careless he wanted.

His thoughts were cut off by a loud ringing.

- Oops! Almost forgot my cookies!

Patton (6:34 PM): Hey, Dee! Are you already at Remus and Roman’s house?

DD (6:40 PM): Hey there. Yeah, we’re watching the Saw movie for the 4th time this year -_-

Patton (6:40 PM): Wow…

Patton (6:41 PM): Why you never tell him you don’t like this movie?

DD (6:42 PM): No one likes to hear him beaming about the deaths and all the gore stuff.

DD (6:42 PM): And it’s funny to hear him laughing when that woman tries to reach the keys and ends up trapped

Patton (6:44 PM): Awwwww

Patton (6:45 PM): It’s cute that you do that just to see him happy

DD (6:50 PM): -___-

DD (6:51 PM): If you wanna see it this way

DD (6:55 PM): At least the movie don’t make me feel uncomfortable so it’s more bearable

Patton (6:56 PM): Yup

DD (7:00 PM): Hey, Patton

Patton (7:01 PM): Yes?

DD (7:02 PM): I think I’ll try to tell him tonight

Patton (7:05 PM): Tell what?

DD (7:02 PM): Don’t worry, I’m hidden in the bathroom. He’s not seeing our messages.

Patton (7:03 PM): Oh, ok!

Patton (7:04 PM): Well, good luck! ^^ I’m pretty sure things will turn out fine

DD (7:05 PM): I’m not worried about it

Patton (7:05 PM): Pfff

Patton (7:05 PM): Sure ;)

DD (7:06 PM): urgh

DD (7:07 PM): You should tell Roman too

Patton sighed. There we go again.

Patton (7:07 PM): D, I told you before. I’m not in love with Roman…

Patton (7:08 PM): He is my best friend, just like Logan and Virgil.

DD (7:08 PM): Well, I never said you were not in love with them TOO

DD (7:09 PM): Look

DD (7:10 PM): I know talking to mom and dad will be hard

DD (7:11 PM): It is hard for me too

DD (7:11 PM): But you don’t have to talk to them if you don’t want to

DD (7:12 PM): None of us have

DD (7:13 PM): I’ve always hid my relationships very well, and you know that

DD (7:13 PM): I can help you so they won't find anything out too

DD (7:14 PM): Or… Idk, protect you if they react badly about it

DD (7:14 PM): Just know that I’m on your side, ok?

DD (7:14 PM): I’ll never judge you for being who you really are

DD (7:14 PM): And polyamorous relationships usually go great

Patton didn’t know how to answer. It wasn’t the first time they talked about it.

No matter how many times Patton would say he’s not interested in anyone, D would try to say that he’s in love with Roman or one of his boyfriends.

Or act like he will be in love with someone someday.

But Patton highly doubted that and was pretty fine with it

Patton (7:15 PM): I know, D

Patton (7:15 PM): I love you

DD (7:16 PM): I need to go back now, I’ll talk to you tomorrow

Patton (7:16 PM): Good luck!

He never told his brother about being aromantic and all this talk actually makes him less inclined to do so. He knew he means well despite everything, so Patton never felt like yelling or fighting with him for insisting on it.

But at the same time…

He was so DONE.

It was already difficult for him to find out who he really is.

It was already a huge pain to see that the fact that he doesn’t feel OK with the idea of being romantically attached to someone. That this whole thing actually makes him feel sadder, empty and chained just by the simple thought of it because “that’s what everyone needs to feel”.

It was already difficult for him to see how he can explain his relationship with Logan, Virgil and Roman.

Yes, they were made for each other.

No, he never wants them to go away.

Yes, he loves them A LOT.

But his love was not romantic.

His 3 partners were dating each other romantically but they all see Patton as someone just as important in their lives, even if they don’t see him as a boyfriend.

When they found out about Queerplatonic Relationships it was like big realization and a good way to include Patton in their lives that was not just a simply “he’s my best friend”.

And that makes him so happy, special and wanted he didn’t need or wished anything else.

But it was almost like the whole world was revolved in romance and that was the only way for anyone to find happiness. Like not having a romantic partner meant you’d be “alone forever” as if that was the worst thing ever.

Patton was not alone.

Patton was not unhappy.

Patton was not repressing feelings anymore.

Patton was free. Patton was Patton.

And that was everything he needed.

Why wouldn’t anyone get this? Why was everyone so fixated on it? Why-

- No! – Patton murmured before eating one last cookie and getting up from the sofa and turning his TV off – I’m not letting this ruin my day. I’m gonna take a shower.

Ok, maybe choosing this album to listen while taking a shower wasn’t a very uplifting choice. Not that his songs are bad. But they were not the type of songs for you to feel good, it’s more like a song to give you a relatable feeling. Something might make you say “yes, that’s what happens to me".

But the shower did gave him some good, since the cold water mixed with Moses’s voice echoing through the walls were relaxing and almost swooning, like meditating. Logan taught him how to fixate his thoughts in one single thing until he could slowly focus on the sensations of his surroundings and Patton particularly enjoyed doing this in the shower.

Patton threw his naked body in the bed and turned to see his own reflection in the mirror close to it.

He stared at his freckles, covering his entire brown body, and smiled as he remembered how Virgil made a small comment about how much he likes it because as a child he used to look at people with freckles and try to form constellations with them and it was like they have a little piece of the sky with them. That was the best “non-intentionally” cute comment he ever made.

He sat on the side of his bed and stared the mirror, giving more attention to his own details. He looked through his whole “galaxy body” passing some of his fingers through them, mentally picturing the whole sky moving around it. He never knew why but sometimes imagining things like this made him feel so good and at least for a second forget about everything else.

- Let’s see this galaxy dance.

He picked up his phone, chose the first song that came with shuffle mode and got up.

This time he danced slowly and with his eyes closed.

His arms embracing his body and his movements had no shape or choreography.

It was just free and random.

Patton’s hands were running through his arms gently, like a self-cuddle, having this short moment to love himself.

He was moving his shoulders inclined his head behind and instead of just mouthing the lyrics, Patton allowed himself to actually sing.

He definitely was not.

He was a human being.

A lovely human being.

“It's okay to say you've got a weak spot You don't always have to be on top Better to be hated Than loved loved loved for what your not”

Later that night, now completely undercovers and almost ready to sleep, he received a photo from the chat group of Roman, Virgil and Logan in the cafeteria after watching their movie.

The image of the latino man and the black goth kissing each side of the ginger haired nerd made Patton smile fondly.

Patton (11:12 PM): Omg, you all look so adorable <3

Patton (11:12 PM): I’m happy you enjoyed your movie :3

Virgil (11:14 PM): Yeah, it was really cool

Virgil (11:15 PM): Logan and Roman wouldn’t stop geeking around it after the movie, they almost didn’t finished their meal

Roman (11:16 PM): Oh, come on! There were many things to think about after that

Virgil (11:17 PM): I’m not complaining, charming prince. It was cute seeing you theorizing things.

Roman (11:17 PM): UwU

Roman (11:20 PM): But hey! I guess we were not the only one who had a good movie night ¬u¬~

Will Newman(Cole Sprouse) x Reader-Hey Neighbor!

So I thought it would be pretty cool to do a Will Newman imagine/oneshot because there aren’t that many out there. We need to make more for this character since he’s newer.

Descripton: Y/N transfers to St. Grace hospital due to her having XP(Xeroderma Pigmentosum) and turns out she’s Will’s next door neighbor.

I finally moved into my hospital room on September 14th, 2017 with my mother’s help of course. Looking around at my new room I’m glad to see that I have all my paintings, drawings, books, and electronics. My hospital bed consisted of (F/C) pillows and (S/F/C) blankets with (F/C) stripes making the room seem a little more vibrant.

Since my windows are tinted it makes my room seem gloomy so I have to have a couple lamps on at all times. “There finally all done with unpacking your stuff (Y/N),” I look over at my mom and smile, grateful that she helped me in the first place when I could have taken care of it myself. “thanks mom, what would I do without you,” I walk up to her and give her a hug, “You’d probably be so lonely.” I roll my eyes playfully and chuckle trying to be sarcastic, “Oh yeah mom, because I totally don’t have 4 other siblings that kept me company all the time.” She pulls away from the hug and playfully slaps my upper arm, “You shush your mouth.”

I laugh and put my arms up in a surrendering motion, “Okay, okay I give in,” before we could continue our fun a nurse walks in and smiles kindly at my mom and I. She had black curly hair that kind of turned into an afro, dark skin and brown eyes that seemed to sparkle at the sight of my room. “Hi, I’m Barb, and I’ll be the nurse that checks in on you from time to time and when more treatments are needed, I’m there to help.” I nod my head and smile at Barb, “Hi Barb, it’s nice to meet you I’m (Y/N), if you didn’t already know that. I can’t wait to settle in and get better if I can.”

." Barb smiles at me and then looks at my mom, “I promise you she is in safe hands here,” my mom smiles back at her, “Thank you.” Mom then turns to me and kisses my forehead, “Take care sweetheart, I promise I’ll come visit soon,” I nod my head as my response. “Okay, I love you,” before she walks out she turns back around, “I love you too.” After those words she left with me not knowing when I’d see her next. I turn towards the window of my room and remember it’s still dark out meaning I may be able to go out for a while.

“Umm Ms. Barb,” she was about to walk out of the room until I called her name, “Yes (Y/N)?” “May I go outside now? My mom usually lets me out when it’s dark and I have an alarm on my phone to make sure I come back on time before the suns up.” I look at her hopefully, hoping she’ll let me go out, “Of course you can sweetie, just if you’re late I’m going to set a curfew, do you understand?” I nod my head enthusiastically happy that I’m not going to be stuck in this hospital all the time. I hug Barb and jump up and down a little, “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she chuckles and hug’s me back but pulls away after a couple seconds.

“Now go on before you run out of time,” I nod and walk out of my room feeling free until the smell of different medicines fill my nose. I ignore the smells knowing I’ll have to get used to them sometime soon and continue my way down the hallway into several different hallways to get outside. On my way out I look down a hallway and notice a pale young man, about 6’0 with short fluffy black hair and blue-green eyes. His clothes consisted of grey sweatpants and a loose white shirt that really brought out his eyes. After I wake myself up from my daze I notice he’s staring at me and he has a nasal cannula and it’s hooked to a small oxygen tank that’s in his satchel.

Immediately I began to become flustered by how cute he is and continue my way out the door not noticing that the boy followed me. “Hey, mystery girl,” I stop and turn to look at the raven-haired boy in curiosity, “Yes?” He smirks at me, “Were you just visiting someone?” I chuckle and shake my head, “Actually I’m a new resident here,” his smirk leaves his face and he smiles softly.

“Well since you’re staying a while I minus well introduce myself, my name’s Will, Will Newman,” I smile and nod my head, “My name’s (Y/N), (Y/N) (Y/L/N).” Will’s smirk returns, “That’s a beautiful name. So (Y/N) why are you leaving the hospital at almost 1 in the morning?” I look up at the night sky enjoying the sight of the stars, “Well, I wanted to take a walk and Barb said it was okay for me to do so, so here I am.” He nods and begins to walk back inside, “If you like you can join me,” he turns back to me with his breathtaking smirk, “Okay but be warned I’m highly dangerous.” He wiggles his eyebrows making me laugh, “Yeah you keep telling yourself that,” I turn away from him and begin walking down the road to a hill.

Story Masterlist

Chapter 2

I sat down in front of my laptop as I looked at my YouTube channel. I clicked the 'Go Live' button and smiled at my Web Cam on my laptop. "Hey, guys. AssassinWriter here. We're going to be playing Assassin's Creed: Odyssey for a charity stream tonight. All of the donations will go to the hurricane victims down in Florida and the Caribbean." I smiled, flipping my dirty blond hair to get it out of my eyes. I focused on the screen as I played the game.

As I would die in the game from time to time, I would look at the stream chat, seeing that the charity had over $1,000 so far, and it was only an hour in. I saw that someone had donated $1,000. I started to read the message then read who had signed it, and I started to stutter. "X-Xavier... The real XavGame?"

He donated another $50, saying that it was really him. My hands trembled in excitement. "I-Umm... I honestly don't know what to say that won't make me look stupid." I chuckled nervously. I focused on the game, trying to clear my thoughts. I glanced at the chat and saw that he had said, 'It's okay, Darcy. Just keep being you.'

I blushed and kept playing the game. Eventually, I heard yelling, and I got up to see what it was. It sounded like my mother and father. I opened the door to see that Father had pinned mom up against the wall, and mom was crying. I shut my door, blocking my viewers from the scene, and I tried to pry my father's hands off my mom. "Get off!"

"The slut cheated on me!" He screamed, grabbing her hair, causing her to cry in pain.

Shit, he found out. I pulled him away, which only got me a slap to the face. I felt my lip bust and blood trickle down my chin. I got him away from me and had him pinned down to the floor. I punched him in the side of the head, knocking him out.

I looked up at mom. "Pack your bags and go to Mark's. I'm going to Teegan's." I sighed as I got up, wiping my lip. I walked into my room and walked over to my computer. My eyes were a little watery, but I wasn't crying Yet.

My voice cracked. "Guys, I have to end the stream earlier than I thought. Keep donating. I will keep the video up on my channel, and the links will be there as well. Keep donating and helping this cause." I ended the stream, sighing. I shut my laptop off and started to pack my things for Teegan's.

Within about ten minutes, I had everything packed up. Mother was waiting for me at the door. "I've texted Mark and told him that I was coming over."

I nodded and grabbed my bags after slipping on my jacket. I stepped around my father's unconscious body and walked to the door. "Make sure you text me when you get to Mark's."

She nodded. "You do the same."

I smiled and nodded. "I will." I hugged her, and she hugged back. I left the house with her behind me, and I walked to my dark blue Mini Cooper, Sapphire. I was still a little distraught about the incident that had happened with my father and mom, but I was used to it by now. Being 18 years old, I've been dealing with it for as long as I can remember.

I got in my car and pulled away from the house after making sure that mom had left. I drove down the street to Teegan's house. She lived down the street, but I still drove my car there because I had school in the morning and didn't want to go home in the morning to deal with my father.

I pulled up to the curb and sighed, sitting back in the seat for a moment as I tried to clear my head. I rested my forehead on the steering wheel.

I heard a tap on the window, and I jumped a little. I looked up to see my best friend standing at the window. I unlocked the door and opened it. She must've been painting because she had on her jeans that were splattered with paint and her shirt that was stained with various pastel colored paint.

"What happened? I saw the stream."

"Mom is pregnant, and my father found out... You can fill in the blanks.." I sighed, getting out. "I wish we could just leave... I'd make sure he goes to jail for what he's done to mom and I." I walked to the back door and grabbed my bags.

Teegan grabbed my other bag. "I know... Well, both of you are welcome to move in here. Mom and dad said it's okay."

I looked down, kicking a piece of asphalt, the asphalt scuffing some black marks onto my boots. "I know... I just don't want to be a burden.."

She didn't say anything but just walked with me up to the front door. We walked through the door and up to my spare bedroom. She sat my bag down on the bed. "We have pizza from Papa Johns. Do you want any?"

"No, I think I'm going to set up my laptop and stream a bit more. I need to help those people..." I sighed as I sat my bag down.

"You need to help yourself before you help others." She looked down at me. "You've done enough for those people. You've already raised over $1500 for them." She sighed before leaving the room.

I flopped onto the bed, groaning.

Then I felt a pillow smack my ass. I looked up to see Danny walking in. He leaned against the door frame. "You okay?" He asked.

I shook my head, feeling the tears coming. I buried my face in my pillow as he sat down beside me. I turned my head to look at him, and he used his sleeve to wipe away the blood on my lip. I sat up and buried my face in his neck, crawling into his lap. He wrapped his arms around me as if his arms were a barrier to protect me from the world.

"Mom's pregnant..." I whispered. "And Father found out..."

"She needs to leave... She needs to either move here or just get out." He whispered against my hair as he stroked it.

"She's at the baby daddy's house... The baby daddy is my old math teacher." I chuckled. "At least he'll take care of her."

He nodded. "I hope."

I smiled. "Thank you for being here for me."

He kissed the top of my head. "I'll always be here."

"I'm about to stream again. Stay with me..." I whispered. "I want you to stay here with me."

He smiled. "Of course."

I smiled as I got up from his lap. I unpacked my stuff and started to set my laptop up. Once I was finished, I started the stream. Throughout the night, in which I streamed up to midnight, Danny fed me pizza and sat in the background, watching me play my game. By the end of the night, I had raised over $3,000 for the hurricane victims.

I eventually stopped streaming and got ready for bed. I slipped into my PJs and slipped into bed after taking a shower. I fell asleep and slept for 7 hours before I had to wake up for school.

I woke up, my back sore from sitting upright in the chair last night. I got up and grabbed my favorite gamer shirt and a pair of jeans, as well as a bra and a pair of panties.

I walked to the bathroom and took a shower. I got out after washing my hair and body, then I cried my hair and straightened it. I slipped in my clothes and walked out.

I walked into the bedroom to see my chat, Chyna, laying on the bed. "Hey, baby. Watcha doing, girl?"

And the only response I got from her was just a stare. I chuckled at her. "You hungry?" I smiled as I got the container of cat treats out, and she started to meow. Her eyes dilated, something that always happened when I brought the treats out, and she stood up. I fed her some and then made sure that she had food and water.

I slipped on my jacket and grabbed my school laptop. I put my books and laptop in my bookbag then slung it over my shoulder.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen to find that Danny, Kellan, Teegan and their parents all at the table, eating breakfast.

"Morning, Darcy," Tommy, Teegan's father, said.

I smiled. "Morning, Tommy."

Nina was at the stove, cooking down bacon. I walked to the fridge and poured a glass of milk. Nina finished up the cooking by making my plate with an omelet, toast, and bacon. She had always been a good cook. She handed me my plate.

I smiled. "Thank you."

"Anytime." She smiled back.

I walked over to the dining room table and sat down in between Danny and Teegan. I began to eat.

"So how was the stream last night?" Tommy asked as he looked up from his newspaper.

"Umm, it went good," I responded as I tucked a piece of my hair back, nodding. "We raised $3,000."

"That's good," Nina said. "It's good that you're using the platform as a way to help others who can't help themselves."

I smiled, nodding.

"Wanna tell him about the boy?" Teegan asked.

Tommy raised his eyebrow. "What boy?"

"XavGame. He's a famous British Youtuber who contributed to half of the goal," Teegan said, giggling. "I think Darcy has a thing for him."

This made Danny raise his head at me, his lips parted.

"I do not. He's just my hero... He's helped me in tough times, and he doesn't even know it..." I sighed, looking down.

She rolled her eyes, giggling. She and I finished up eating, and we both got up. We put our dishes in the sink and left for school. We decided to carpool as I had driven here, so we took my car.

We arrived at school, and we went to our lockers. I grabbed my books for my English class with Ms. Weeks. Since school was wrapping up, and Graduation was two months away, my classes were getting laid back. We did projects, but they weren't too hard, mainly just research kind of projects. We also watched a lot of movies and had a lot of food days.

I walked up to Teegan as she grabbed her books for English, as we had the same class for first block. We walked to Ms. Weeks, which was at the end of the English hall.

Ms. Weeks stood at her, her long dark brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was a Christian, but she was laid back. She accepted the LGBTQA community, which was a relief when I had came out to her my freshman year. For four years, she's known I've been an asexual, and she's been perfectly fine with it.

"I'm only here for the XP." She said, reading my t-shirt. "I like that." She smiled. I noticed that she wore a half mask and a 1800s Parisian styled outfit.

"Thanks." I smiled back. "So how are you this morning?"

"I'm fine and dandy. How are you?"

"I'm alright. Just my back is sore from last night."

"I bet. I can give you some Ibuprofen if you want." She suggested. She was a volunteer EMS, so she always had a kit on her, and she always carried her supplies in her car.

"Yes, thank you." I smiled. There were only a few people in the classroom when we walked into the classroom. She went over to her desk as Teegan and I sat our stuff down. I looked up at the Promethean board and noticed that the Phantom of the Opera was pulled up. "Are we watching the movie?" I asked her.

"Yep. I also brought some French finger foods for us to eat as we watch." She smiled. "You know how I love to eat."

I squealed in delight as she told me that we would be watching the movie as we had just finished the book. I chuckled. "That I do."

Teegan looked at Ms. Weeks. "I love your outfit. Very Phantomy." She smiled. She had always been one for fashion as she had always tried to pick my outfits out sometimes. And sometimes, I would let her dress me. Fashion was her passion, and she was planning to go to college for it after high school.

I looked up at the clock and saw that we had about ten minutes before the bell rang to start first block. I looked over at Teegan. "Do you want to go get drinks?" I pulled out my wallet.

"Yeah."

"Would you like anything, Ms. Weeks?" I asked her.

"Hmm, yes. Thank you." She walked over after getting some money from her purse. She handed me the ibuprofen and some money for a drink. "Get me a Dr. Pepper, please."

I smiled, nodding. I took the medicine. "Sure." Teegan and I left the room. We walked up the hall and to the vending machines in the main hall. We got our drinks, which was a cherry Pepsi for me and an Arizona for Teegan, and Dr. Pepper for Ms. Weeks.

We returned to the classroom and gave our teacher her drink. Teegan and I sat down in our seats and opened our laptops.

I logged into my Discord, which I had used a proxy to get past the school firewalls.

Then I noticed the message.

Inspired by @dialup2002 to post some more old stuff. :) This is a desktop screenshot I posted on my DevART account January 2005. Kicking it with Windows XP, but I loved/preferred the classic style that I was accustom to (95-98-ME). I made the wallpaper used, but I’m having trouble finding a copy of it. I’ll prob try to remake it in non-1024x768 resolution lmao. Not sure if this is from 2005. It might have been from 2004, but I hadn’t posted it yet. I did that a lot. Some fun notes about some of the software icons pictured (lots of info):

Firefox - THE FIRST BROWSER TO DO TABS OMG. I was a huge advocate for Firefox, especially in its initial releases. They were doing things on the internet nobody had really seen up to that point, and made it popular! Since I had so many issues (as most people do) with Internet Explorer, I was shopping around for a new browser at the time of this shot. Google Chrome didn’t exist yet. (Can you imagine??)

IE - As stated above, I disliked IE. It was kept for various reasons, however. Such as testing website layouts, since the mass-majority of people used it and things looked different in browsers when you were coding.

Opera - While giving Firefox a try, I also managed to snag a very, very early copy of Opera. I’ve always been the type of person that loved to try out new stuff as early as possible, and this was a very special piece of software that I wanted to give a go. The reason that it was special? You had to send away for a CD for it. That’s right, kids. They snail-mail’ed me a CD because it was considered “commercial software.” I paid to get that browser lmfao. I was super super hyped later in 2005, because it became “freeware” and I was able to more-easily push my friends to try it out. The devs were (and still are) seriously awesome. This is why I still use Opera as my main browser today! Ya’ll should try it if you aren’t already! You can even use your most-beloved Chrome extensions on it. :)

Soulseek & WinMX - Holy crap, you guys! lmao Is anyone here old enough to remember these programs?? XD This was basically where most people went after Napster bit the dust. This was when we were all scrambling, trying to find a new P2P sharing program. This was right in-between the eMule/Donkey phase and before the Limewire/KaZaA fiascos where people’s computers were being overloaded with viruses from companies trying to stop pirating. Ahh, the wild, wild west... Days were so exciting when you spent hours downloading something that could potentially ruin your computer lmao

WS_FTP - Still one of my favorite FTP programs for Windows! Works like a charm! These days I use Transmit 5 for Mac, but this was my first program ever for file transfer protocol. It’s basically a tool for uploading files to my website’s server, because back when I first registered it, there was no web uploader for that kinda stuff. Now I stick with that because it’s easier and I’m used to it lol

Veo Digital Studio - Used to use this for my webcam back before webcams were built into laptops, and before they were common enough to have amazing freeware available for them. (Also this is hilarious.) The quality was horrible, but I was hella excited to take pictures and share them with friends and on my blog at the time. From what I remember, there was something I used after this that was some type of South Korean selca software. Haduri? Something like that. It was really cute and even let you do little animations. :)

Animation Shop - Okay. So... from what I remember, this might have been owned by the people that made Paint Shop Pro? I think it was Corel. I honestly don’t remember where I got this from, but this is what I used to use to make animated gifs (because Photoshop just....didn’t for some reason? I had to use PSP at some point, I remember that. I just don’t remember why lmao. It might have been my copy didn’t allow it, or my computer was just too shit to run it good enough, or just stopped working because....Windows).

Adobe Photoshop 5.0 - I originally got this rip from a friend of mine, whose dad got a CD from his company that he worked at. It was an official/real license, which was really awesome! I think this was the first version of Photoshop I ever owned (!!), which is pretty amazing to think about about! I had that CD copy for a few years. I initially was gifted a copy of the CD around 2001-2002 or so. I know for a fact I had newer versions (7.0 was legend before CS suite came around), so I’m not sure why I was using this one at this point lmao. My guess is, like mentioned above, something happened with my computer and I didn’t want to format it and reinstall everything lol or because it was the fastest version I had installed to boot up and do a quick photo edit.

Adobe Photoshop 7.0 - I do remember this took a long time to start up. I can only imagine this was like a bad pirated copy or something, or was so bloated with new stuff in it, and that’s why I kept 5.0 for a quick boot. I know I used this majority of the time, though. Most of my backups for brushes and fonts are from backups that include 7.0 as a zip. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My computer wasn’t the most powerful at the time, despite what I pushed it to do, so this is prob why. But hell yeah! Photoshop represent! lol I still use it today, and its still one of the first things I install on a fresh OS install. Enjoying CC 2017 these days.

Nero Start Smart - I was so excited to make mix CDs and share them! Back in the day before you had stuff like playlists that were sharable on YouTube/Spotify, etc, you had this to share music. Or play in your car. Or CD walkman. Nero was a software you could burn your CD-Rs and make your own laser-etched album art! I begged for years to get a CD burner lmao. Back when casette tapes were still around enough that my parents were like “but why???” lmao. They were not common back in the day like they became over time, just, like, included on your computer. Back then you had to buy one and install it into your computer tower yourself! I got mine I believe.....in 2001? It was the year after the Playstation 2 was released. The first one I got was just a very standard burner. Did a very specific type of CD burning at a low (slow af) speed. It was $700 lmfao. Let that sink in for a minute because my parents didn’t let me forget about it for the next four years lmfao. I saved up birthday and Christmas money and went halves on it. Then I upgraded to the one that this one was! c: Which did the laser etching, and DVD burning! (And you better believe I was burning DVDs of stuff I was downloading online lmfao this was the golden age of the internet where everything was just available everywhere as long as you had the patience to download that shit, because it took forever to download)

Volume Control - My dad and I messed with the wires on all of these random computer speakers and stereo speakers that we had collected over the years and hotwired our own version of a 5.0 surround sound in the room, which was mounted to the ceiling corners and above the computer station. It was lit. I needed Volume Control easily accessible because sometimes the speakers needed redirecting, or I needed to turn the beats down because my mother was tired of my fifth time playing the Gundam Wing OSTs and Miyavi. (It was metal, okay???)

Windows Media Player - I did not use this to listen to media. Let me reiterate that. I did not use it to listen to media on. lol this was specifically used to rip tracks from CDs that friends lent me, because it was the easiest software I was able to use to change the KBPs for quality control and the ID3 tags so I could save it and organize it for use in Winamp and know wtf I was listening to lol. Nobody used WMP for listening to music.... xD

Winamp - The best music player. Period. Still. Nothing beats it. Pls, pls, Nullsoft! Come back and make a native version for MacOS. :’(((( I would buy it! Doesn’t even have to have new features or look different. Classic look, pls pls!

Media Player Classic - Do people still use it??? This player was amazing! Paired with k-lite codec pack, it played everything. It was like VLC before VLC. And it looked good. Clean. Small. Could be installed anywhere which was nice. And the codec packs just made everything look and run fantastic!

Recycle Bin - .... Trash XD

Magnifier - This was for my dad because he had bad eyes and couldn’t remember CTRL +/-/0 to increase the text on pages that he wanted to read.

My Documents - Where I saved all the stuff I downloaded. Not the real My Docs. Just a folder that I named as such, with a custom icon. I don’t know why I wanted it there lol. I think to just have a uniform square on my desktop haha

Journal - I renamed this. I forget the original name of the client, but it was the official client of LJ. It was basically a program that let you write up posts for Livejournal and you could format things, draft them, etc, and post without uploading to your journal/blog. I liked it because sometimes I couldn’t post right away, and it made making drafts a lot easier for me to go back and edit. It also let you edit past posts, which was really convenient instead of looking for it on the web version one post at a time.

AIM+ - I loved AOL Instant Messenger, but over time the ads became too much. I invested a lot of time in 3rd party clients. Sorry this is late, I was a little busy yesterday.

This stream focused mostly on this weekend’s Dedicated Server test. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, give it a shot. The only downside is that it’s pvp only, and it’s just Duels, Dominion, and Tribute. Other than that, everything has been running pretty smoothly for me. If you are playing and run into problems, be sure to go to the PTS forums. I think there’s also a For Honor subreddit specifically for the PTS.

In other news the next patch will be coming next Monday. It’s mainly bug fixes, but Shaman fixes are in there so I’m ready.

Next, Damien talked about the lag compensation, or timesnap. Their team is working on it, but don’t want to release any sort of fix just yet. This is because the dedicated servers might have different lag...things...(i dunno about all this lag stuff really) and they don’t want to implement a fix for the Peer to Peer model to the Server model. Same goes for Aramusha light spam. The team knows that it’s a problem on consoles, and they want to see if the spam can be dealt with easier on servers.

Content of the Week: Coin Toss emotes for all DLC characters. As they said before, there’s 18 heroes out, which means the design teams that come up with outfits, emotes, effects, and executions now have a lot of heroes to work on. This means that we might get some of this stuff in waves, so the team isn’t overworked.

Patch news! Monday the 18th is when a new patch arrives! I’ll post separately about it since the link is out, but here’s some big news from it.

Good evening everyone... did you all have a nice day yesterday?

I had a very tiring day. I was out in the 90°F+ heat for 7 hours setting up, running, and tearing down the Uncle Sam booth at our local Fourth of July festival, which I may have mentioned before. 😉 I am Uncle Sam’s (dad’s) deputy photographer and sign-maker. (Well... most of them.) I know I can settle with just the Tumblr captions, but I’m going to write more details under a read more.

[1] A selfie of said deputy photographer, wilting from the heat only halfway through the day. Also, unintended photobomb of our friend who’s visiting for the week, whose sole contributions to the booth were sitting around, helping with signs, and occasionally encouraging small children to look at the camera.

[2] As promised, I touched up the ink on these large foamcore signs, though I’m already thinking of making new ones for next year. Considering how long I waited to work on these for today (down to the last day AND running out of metallic paint marker), the sooner the better.

[3] My station at the booth. It’s a good thing we had two tables, because there needs to be space for not just the equipment, but for the hats and signs as well. The system works like this: The camera is oriented with a pan-tilt camera mount, controlled with the little black box next to the cardboard shroud. The computer has remote-shooting software, which with this camera allows pictures to be taken and sent to the computer wirelessly. The pictures are then processed on the computer by a script my dad wrote, which 1) generates a Web key, which can be used to access the picture on the Internet, 2) combines the photo with some text on the side of it: a message and the Web address, and 3) spools the combined image to the printer. With the faster printer (see [7]), this whole process takes less than a minute, around 35-40 seconds. (Dad says he can improve it a little, but we’ll see.)

[4] The computer is an HP Mini, an Intel Atom-based netbook running Windows XP. It’s great for portability, weighing very little compared all the other stuff. We don’t have a newer or faster machine because we want to be sure that it can run the remote shooting software for the Canon SD430 Wireless camera. It’s hard to see the screen even with the cardboard shade, so I wind up hunched over it, which after 6 hours did not help my neck any; when I got home my fingers were going numb. (They got better.) Maybe next year I can convince my dad that it needs to be closer to eye level. (More space for signs! 😂)

[5] As mentioned, I tend to go a little sign crazy; my dad thinks it’s silly, but he doesn’t realize how many repeated questions I have to field from patrons of our booth. They were made on Canson art board, using several sizes of Sharpie felt-tip and metallic paint markers. This year, I had the foresight to bring markers and extra pieces of art board, because I wound up making several signs on-the-fly (the “extra prints” and “CAMERA” ones). Another impromptu creation was making wedges of foamcore to prop the small signs up so they’re more visible—difficult to do with such a busy workload! (The “more information” sign has been blurred out for privacy reasons, but if you’re one of my mutuals and are interested, I can PM it to you.)

[6] Our setup is a bit different this year. The biggest change was abandoning the use of the old, slow, sometimes failure-prone HP inkjet photo printers in favor of a dye-sublimation photo printer (the kind you find in photo kiosks or special events/conventions/etc.). Which, given how the day went, was an excellent investment on my dad’s part: despite taking less than 300 photos (and printing almost that many), the print media should be good for at least another Fourth of July’s worth of photos before running out. Oh, and it prints them at least 8 times faster than the inkjets—no more than about 15 seconds.

[7] The other new addition to the booth this year was these hand-held signs, which were actually my dad’s idea. They’re squares of foamcore stuck with double-sided tape to wooden paint-stirring sticks (or whatever they’re called). We do have quite a few veterans here, and have a Veteran’s Park adjacent to the park this festival is held at, so it seemed only logical. They proved to be pretty popular! Besides the various armed forces, there is a sign with a “☮” and “PEACE”, and another with “MILITARY FAMILY”.

What did you baby? What'S up? Everybody man we're going to be taking a look at none other than Windows 7 today. No, this is just a continuation in the process you already know like I had it initiated. I'Ve already done a Windows XP and Windows, Vista and 2019. If you want to go check those out, I recommend that and then coming to this one, so you can kind of see the progression. I kind of honestly wish. I started with like Windows 95 or something but whatever, but I am running this through the virtual machine, so I'm going to have to like record this audio like I'm, not recording, I'm not like filming this like the whole time, but I just wanted to say: what's Up to you guys, man, I love you, so I'm gon na record this and then paste it over. I'M gon na crop out everything else.

So it's going to look a lot better by my or I might just keep it like that and add bars on the side. Maybe I'll put some funny picture, I don't know, but nonetheless, let's go ahead and take a look at Windows 7 and see how it holds up in 2019. Ever personally, so far from what I'm investing with it, I freaking love it. I love I've, always loved Windows. 7, it's one of my favorite operating systems ever so. Let me go and explain to you why I love it so much! Alright, everyone and we're back and now I'm not going to talk about the performance of Windows 7, because this is our virtual machine. As you can see, it is a little like II like it's, not really the end of the world, but it's just a little bit. You can see so I'm not gon na judge on it. You know I'm not gon na be like racist or anything against it, but we are going to go ahead and look at some of the key differences and basically some of the upgrades and what I'll definitely tell you is.

I haven't used Windows 7 in a minute and looking at it from the Windows, XP standpoint and Windows, Vista standpoint and seeing the progression. I can definitely tell you this is such an improvement like it's such a timeless update. Looking at the bottom bar looking at the sides like yes, the newer computers and stuff have better operating systems and they look better and they may be more updated, but really there's not that much of a difference. When you were talking about that just the way they look, you sell the icons on the front. You still have all these this, the bottom bar. You have all these different things and, of course, they try to differentiate it with the Windows 8 and even with Windows. 10, but I still don't think anything comes close to Windows 7, in my opinion, now, obviously we have whatever we downloaded on the side.

We have a wallpaper which we can actually change and all these different things - and I just saw this - there's a gadgets button. I'Ve never seen this before. Let'S see what type of guy just okay, so just like Windows Vista we are able to put in, I guess we can still do this picture puzzle thing. What happens if we double click also goes in the corner. I honestly don't know why they did that. I mean it's cool, I mean I guess it adds a little bit more flavor to of it, but I still think it's kind of a random thing. Can you move these around? No, so apparently oh, you are able to move them around. So that's a pretty big thing. I don't even know that so going into the applications you can see, we have a lot of stuff built in still. You can see my note of my name. I should what happens if you click it okay, so it gives us just our all all of our documents and everything: okay, pretty cool, let's go ahead and get back into it.

Let'S see if there's any cool, little app set up builds, and so we have documents. Pictures all the standard stuff for the most part, and we have all these different options here as well. If we click all programs, you can see. Oh, let's actually go into games and you can see that we don't have pinball anymore, which kind of sucks. I don't even know why that happened. Didn'T seem like that big of a game. Okay, let's go ahead and go into minesweeper think I can't even play it. Oh wait! No! I'M! Okay and this my screen isn't much of a diversion. I don't know what the one I'm used to do. I might actually win. My city knows yo. I might get oh, my god that is unbelievable, actually might win my silver for the first time I'll have something to I was literally. I was not gon na come on.

Oh my god! Well guys you win some, you lose some all right. Let'S continue on with this other accessories. You have a ton of different things. You have command prompt, which I didn't see I before what is XP. You have no pad paint, I mean I'm sure it had it in it. Remote desktop connection, that's really cool, that's something even like it's still still relevant. Today you had the snipping tool, which is, I guess, Microsoft's built in the switch. I think I really understand. I don't know why they don't whatever does matter. If we going to paint real quick, let me go and just try to paint what you look like. I'Ve done this before and I've been pretty accurate. So, ultimately, I think this is something what you look like. I mean I'm not trying to be like a fence or anything, but I mean I'll. Definitely it's better than what I'll click so honestly.

For some reason, you kind of look like an alien, and I guess when we all rate area 51, which I'm totally joking we're not and when we get our own aliens, I'm pretty sure this is what it's going to look like. I'M not trying to say you look like an alien, but you know so I think this is something which you look like you mean you got probably a little hair on your face or something, but you know so good I mean I'm not I'm in I mean If you look anything like this drawing, I mean look like a pretty good-looking human and then continuing on. I kind of want to keep this in the background for a good look: let's go ahead and click all programs again now I've kind of already beat this thing to like the death. There'S really not too much else going on here, but you can see. I mean in terms of just the way this looks. It looks just like what we have today permission object,

I mean obviously with Windows 10. You have like the whole like awesome, like touch screen navigation thing that looks like the Xbox Live whatever like when you turn on your Xbox Live. It looks like that. I'M not a huge fan of that. I think this looks a little bit more premium and makes it feel a little bit more professional. I'Ve always liked the way this looks now. We have all these different functions here. You know obviously the standard stuff. One thing that I saw - and I saw this in like Windows - Vista too, but I don't know why I didn't do it. For the last video I forgot to upscale the resolution, so we were looking at it 800 by 600, which was really really low enough like right now I have it to 1280, so you can see a lot more and it looks a lot more premium. In my opinion, so hopping out of it, let's go ahead and go into an app such as actually let's go to Internet Explorer.

Now, as you can see, this is what people were working with back in the day and like I've said, and what I can tell you. It literally has not like changed that much in terms of Internet Explorer, but with Microsoft edge. That is a pretty big improvement and that's a humongous thing that I saw that you know going from Windows 7 to like Windows, 10, for example. You had that advantage with Microsoft edge and you actually might be able to install it on here. I honestly don't know, but that's a pretty big thing now, once I did open Internet Explorer, I tend automatically try to like load up Google just to see how fast it was, and I saw that it really wasn't that slow, as you guys saw like a lot Of people hate on Internet Explorer, even I remember when I was on a Windows - 7 people who are hating on it, but it's not really the case if you go and type in the worst person in the world that time I did take an extra second or Two, but you can see like it loads up everything, fine.

It does kind of have that old layout, though, which it's kind of weird. I wasn't expecting that if we go into YouTube, I wonder if it's going to show like the mobile version or the updated. No, it shows like the really good full version of it. I'M actually really happy about that. So people who were still on Windows XP can store. Windows. 7 can still watch my horrible videos. So if we try to bust open a video, let's go and watch this one and for some reason the video is not loading in neither is like the thumbnail or anything, and neither of the comments - that's really weird. That'S going up back into it. Maybe Internet Explorer does not support like videos anymore on YouTube. I'M just joking, I mean I'm sure, there's some people who are on Windows 7, watching my videos right now. That'S very weird now hopping into Google Chrome.

This is where probably most of the functionality is going to come with. So let's go ahead and do the same exact thing: let's type in the same exact person who probably shouldn't even be making videos anymore and let's go hop into the internet browser. Let'S go ahead and go to YouTube and let's see if videos play on here which they shut and as you can see, videos do seem to be working on Google Chrome, but it seems like my thing as frozen. No, we don't we're good now, as you can see the videos play on Google Chrome, which, like I said, if you have Windows 7, I would highly recommend downloading. Google, Chrome and everything works. I think with Windows XP, I was not able to get videos working. I was able to install Windows XP though I think I honestly don't remember. I know what the Windows Vista I was able to do that, but with Windows XP.

For some reason I was not able to have Wi-Fi drivers installed, but with this one you're able to see that I'm just connected to it through the Ethernet, but I'm not connected to the either now I'm connected to Wi-Fi, which is very interesting, was not expecting that Now, as you can see, this is the one I did about Windows XP three months ago. May you guys I even send this video is going to do if I totally forgot now. I am kind of curious whether this computer does have a Windows Movie Maker or not, and I think I saw it, but I honestly don't remember if you guys want a little history lesson. Windows Movie Maker was the first video editing software I ever used. So for the first couple, videos that you see on this channel - and that is the only thing I ever used up until probably for like dude I'm joking year - maybe a little bit less bit of something like that, and I had a computer that at the time Was running Windows 7, I eventually updated to Windows 8 and I hated hit.

I totally bogged down my computer so much, but I cannot find a Windows Movie Maker that is so weird and honestly, I probably just skipped over them and as you can see, we don't have it. We can easily get it install those! That'S not that big of a deal now, interestingly enough, one of the biggest upgrades to Windows 7 was actually within the calculator now before I guess was like just assuming a standard calculator, but now they did have an enhanced calculator, so you can go and do a Lot more functions: if you wanted a scientific calculator option, you had that ability - and I love the calculator application on this, but that's very interesting now. If that really truly is the case, and that I think that's really really cool, I never really understood what these calculators stood for the programmer ones. Maybe if I became a little bit more smarter,

I would understand, but we have a lot more functionality within this calculator and that's something a lot of people use all the time and apparently within Windows 7, there was actually a lot more power sufficiency. So your computer wasn't necessarily using like a ton of power at the time versus something like Windows, Vista or probably even Windows. Xp now because Windows Vista was such a strange operating system and have one seemed to dislike it windows. You really had to prove themselves here and by them allowing all these little like small little upgrades here and there, but also some big ones like that power efficiency thing that could be a humongous reason for people to have picked Windows 7. At the time, then, like Mac, OS or whatever other options are where now Windows 7, even though it came out in 2009, it didn't fully stop getting updates. Until recently,

I would say it like a year or two from now, or even just like. We even more recently than that, so this software was getting updates for many many many years and rightfully so. This thing is a solid piece of software, an interesting statistic actually that, as of July 20, 1931, almost 32 percent of computers running Windows are running Windows 7, and this still has a 50 percent market share in a number of countries such as China. At fifty one point two one percent: now I mean that's straight from Wikipedia so take that as you well but dude. That means almost a third of computers that are out there. Lehrer running Windows are running Windows 7. That is an insane thing. I mean this. Software is, you know a little bit of how data that would say it came out in 2008. You know, Windows, 8 Windows, 10 have more will be way, more features and everything, but there's a reason.

People are sticking to Windows 7 and there's a reason. They say this is the best version of Windows and the reason they say that is because of its professionalism. In my opinion, and also it's minimalism, there's not too much going on like I'm trying to find things to talk about, but maybe that's the thing that you know is beautiful about Windows 7. Is that it gets a job done for you. It has. You know the features of getting you to point A to point C. You can do everything with it. Obviously, as you go, you can install apps through Google, Chrome or whatever it can install any Windows file Exe file whatever, and you have that option with this piece of software. But then, when you go and upgrade - and you think about upgrading you're, like oh, my god, like Windows, 8 - is so much better this and that it's like you want something, that's overall better, and I understand that. But some people just want something that works is less buggy, they don't care about upgrades or anything.

They don't want a humongous change to their overall workflow from Windows, XP to Windows, Vista. Apparently that was a pretty large difference. You know people were kind of scared of that and with Windows 8, I'm sure people were the same way, a venture with Windows. 10 I mean like Windows, 10, isn't bad. I think I hate on his too much like I don't hate Windows 10 at all, but I think Windows 7 was just beautiful mixture of professionalism, minimalism and productivity and going on further. Apparently this was the first software that allowed you to fully put folders into the taskbar, which is kind of interesting. I thought you were able to do that before. As you can see, you pinned that okay, new folder or whatever, so that folder is now pinned. So whenever you open it it'll go ahead and go into new folder, and that might seem like a basic feature.

But apparently that was added in Windows 7 and I think ultimately, Windows 7 was the safest option. Microsoft had at the time Windows. Xp was amazing Windows. Vista was a very strange update, but eventually with Windows 7. I think they knocked it out of the park. I think they did such an amazing job. I don't think they necessarily focused on you know, putting crazy features in it or anything like that like to did on Windows Vista. I think Windows 7 was more so just cleaning things out and making things a lot more stable. That way, people pretty much could stop. Hating on Microsoft and Windows and people would just stop switching over or even just out complaining about it. Ultimately, so I think that's pretty much where I'm going to leave it at.

I wish there was more to talk about with Windows 7, but it's just such an amazing piece of software and such a safe option for people to still even use nowadays that it's not like feature packed to the brim. It'S just a very safe option and everything else. I'Ve pretty much already talked about with the XP and Vista video. So I think Windows 7 is awesome. If you guys want me to look at Windows 8 and 2019, I can go ahead and do that as well. If this video gets - probably I don't like 10 likes I'll, do it I'm gon na.
