Goes unnoticed
written by l0r.star
A poem about a girl who likes a guy but he doesn't know she exists.
In shadows cast by hopeful dreams, A heart entwined in silent schemes. Through fleeting glances, a tale untold, A crush unfolds, a story to be strolled.
In crowded halls where whispers weave, A secret dance, a heart's reprieve. A gentle gaze, a stolen chance, Yet, in his world, you're just a glance.
His laughter, a melody you long to hear, Yet in his presence, you disappear. A silent muse, a distant star, He wanders close, yet feels so far.
A subtle ache, an echo's song, A heart that yearns, though silent, strong. In realms where words remain unsaid, A love confined, a thread unthread.
The unnoticed poet of unspoken prose, In the garden of affection, where desire grows. He walks, unaware, through petals of your rhyme, A symphony unheard, a dance in borrowed time.
Enchanted by the hues of unrequited art, You paint your emotions, a masterpiece apart. In the gallery of unspoken adoration, A canvas of emotions, a secret dedication.
Yet, through the ache, a resilient grace, A butterfly emerges in this silent chase. For love may bloom in unexpected views, In the quiet heart, where dreams accrue.
So, dance with shadows, though he may not see, For in the realm of possibility, a serendipity. In the poetry of the unnoticed, you find, A heart that beats with love, beautifully enshrined.

Random thoughts I had during my fifth viewing of the cinematic masterpiece "Cocktail" (1988)
Well... more like my 5 2/3 viewing bc I got like 2/3 through it and then my mom was like "why didn't you tell me you were gonna watch it, I would have wanted to watch it too" so I lied about how far I was through it "there's still a lot left we can start it over" and I watched the same movie almost twice in a row in the span of a few hours :)
"Wild Again" by Starship is one of the only good songs tbh, although "Addicted to Love" and "When Will I Be Loved" are also pretty alright. But the soundtrack is lowkey horrendous imo
I stand by my previous standalone post- no one has ever been that excited to get on a fkin Greyhound bus
Benefit of the bus, however- the scene with him and the baby; I feel like Tom just vibes really well w kids because he's such a smiley, fun, and chaotic lil guy and gREAT now I have baby fever again thx 💖
Oh the blatant plot exposition about his parents that they beat us over the head with oh-so-subtly
Oh the foreshadowing throughout that is even less subtle
One of my favorite quotes in any movie, bc it makes me feel better about my life being in disarray and not knowing what to do about it, I guess, is the “Most things in life, good and bad, just kinda happen to ya.”
Tom's still got his high little baby voice 😩
Even as a college graduate, the interviewing scene hits way too hard 🥲😩
Someone needs to acknowledge that the Red Eye looks like the most disgusting thing
Wish the dress shirt and tie fit had been featured more because it does things to me, but the scenes contrasting his first and second shift at the bar are when I first developed TC brain rot and fell in love w that lil goofball
I can’t judge the girl giving him the "fuck me eyes" bc have you seen him, plus she’s showing restraint compared to what I would do tbh
The adult learners usually drove me nuts in my classes (which I know is terrible but shhhhh) but I felt so bad for Sheila Rivkin
This professor really thinks he’s doing standup comedy or smth
Honey don’t put your face on the subway stairs that's arguably more disgusting than a Red Eye
The timeline of this movie is pretty hard to follow tbh; much as I adore it, you never know every time a scene changes whether it's been two days or like 3 months
What the actual fuck was the whole yuppie poet thing about- it's like when I used to watch those 60s Frankie and Annette movies where the weirdest shit would just happen for no reason and I felt like there was some social commentary or inside joke or smth that was just going way over my head that, if I had existed in that time, would have just been like "oh yeah that makes total sense"
The amount of raw sexual energy that this man exudes- I remember someone's post from a while back that was like "why is Cocktail like a 'mom' movie that all the moms are still obsessed with" but just like imagine if you saw this in theaters when it first came out
The only man allowed to wear beach shirts and look sexy, change my mind
I've always thought Elisabeth Shue is so incredibly underappreciated as an actress, smth about her line delivery and expressions just seems very genuine and naturalistic idk
She just orders “a beer” WHAT KIND???
So scary tbh how much he was becoming like Doug even being apart from him for a while
The side eye and shade Jordan gives Doug in this scene cracks me up every time without fail
The reggae singer absolutely popping tf off in his silver lamé suit ✨
Brian and Jordan both pulling the “I’m not like other girls” lmao
Sure she’s lowkey a manic pixie dream girl but I still love her
WATCH THE ROAD WHILE U DRIVIN THE CAR BRIAN 😤
If this movie was remade in modern times (God forbid) Brian would 100% be one of those guys with a hustle culture boss up motivational entrepreneur Instagram account. And Doug would perhaps be one of those cringy creepy pickup artists that talks about low-value women and compares them to horses and thinks he can mind-trick them into falling madly in love w him
If someone was waking me up early every morning to drink carrot juice I would commit crimes
The artist guy who made that exhibit looks like the oiliest man I’ve ever seen
Jordan’s dad says “bartender” like it’s a slur
When Brian tears up the check it always makes my lil heart just 💗💫🥺 the character evolution
Why did I only have this thought on my like fifth viewing of this movie, but I wonder if he hadn’t escorted Kerry back to her apartment if he would have gotten back in time to save Doug, and then who knows what would’ve happened bc then he wouldn’t have felt compelled to tell Jordan how much he really loved her and ask Pat for help and all that
WHEN HE FIGHTS EVERYONE OFF TO GET TO JORDAN what can I say, I'm a sucker for grand and melodramatic romantic gestures and proclamations of love
The teasing and singing along at the wedding is getting a little too real guys stop making this awkward 👀😬
I don’t care how unrealistic the end is, and that in real life they would have 100% soon gotten divorced, bc I want to believe that people can change and that all of the tribulation was worth it + enough for Brian to become a good dad/husband and successful but with it not being above and at the expense of his family; he would be such a fun and chaotic dad and their life would be so hectic w twins but I want to believe they could do it :( it comforts my cynical and depression-addled brain to believe they could do it :(

Various artists - Saturday Night Fever
Do you know what your threshold for camp is? If you can make it to the end of this album then it's higher than most people's. From the absolutely iconic Bee Gees tunes to the inspired instrumentals to the absolutely unhinged disco covers of classical music this album is a mood and a half. Some of the tracks like The Trammps' Disco Inferno, KC & the Sunshine Band's Boogie Shoes, or anything by the Bee Gees are certified classics. Other aren't as well known but should be. The idea of making a disco version of Mussorgsky's Night On Bald Mountain is absolutely insane, the fact that it works is sincerely confusing to me. I love this stuff so much, it's so much more inspired and fun than you would think. Then again I'm a huge disco fan so I'm not an unbiased source. Like I said you need to be able to tolerate a lot of camp, but if you bask in random aesthetics like I do then you'll be right at home.
Tumblr media
Pulp - Different Class
Luscious britpop with aspirations of art rock. That's what pulp brings to the table with Different Class. Jarvis Cocker manages to bring class consciousness and sexuality together and deliver with the deadpan energy of someone who is just narrating their everyday life. Different Class is just full of fantastic lines. Obviously the sort of hit Common People is just loaded with digs at bourgeois poverty tourists, Pencil Skirt has the exquisite line "But I've kissed your mother twice / And now I'm working on your dad" and I Spy has "The crowd gasp at Cocker's masterful control of the bicycle / Skillfully avoiding the dog turd outside the corner shop." Fantastic stuff, if I could write lines like that I would be famous.

Crosby, Stills & Nash - s/t
I think it's a little less fully realized and dynamic than their follow up with Neil Young, but the debut by supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash is still quite delightful. There's an angelic majesty to the way they compose harmonies from the bombastic Suite: Judy Blue Eyes to the pastoral Guinnevere. It's an essential piece of late 60s hippie folk camp.
Tumblr media
Pearl Jam - Ten
Eddie Vedder had a voice that belonged in a hair metal band and he used it to make the mopiest music imaginable. Ten cemented the grunge sound as something beyond a miniscule punk movement pushing it into the mainstream. It also pushed the sound towards a more classic rock / hard rock sound that would become a major staple of later bands like Soundgarden, Alive In Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots. The album is moody and heavy, dealing with themes of alienation, abuse, homelessness, suicide, it's bleak stuff. But it put a voice to the darkest human feelings with a sincerity that definitely resonated with people.
Tumblr media
The Police - Synchronicity
A pop rock masterpiece. Sting's anxiously urgent delivery and cryptic lyricism blend with the manic and complex percussion of Stewart Copeland. It The Police's finest album. Most people know classic stalker song Every Breath You Take but there are so many standouts from the chaotic arpeggios of the two title tracks to the psychotic breakdown that is Mother or the incredible drumming on Murder By Numbers. It's the softest of all their albums, but the most artistically concise as well.
Tumblr media
Erykah Badu - Mama's Gun
The rich depth, both musical and emotional, that can be felt on this album is enough to drown in. Erykah Badu perfects the confessional song airing every emotion, every grievance, every guilty thought into an hour plus epic. As a member of the Soulquarians she also had access to an all star cast of musicians and producers including J Dilla and Questlove. The beats have subtle elements of funk with strong jazzy overtones, jazzier than her neo soul contemporaries for sure. Mama's Gun probably runs a little long at an hour and ten minutes, but the long songs are worth it. This album is the blueprint for things I like about neo soul and honestly even the albums I like better refer so heavily to it that Mama's Gun ought to be remembered as one of the greatest achievements in the genre.

Andrew McLauchlan - "Love Story (Edit)" Turbo Sampler (Vol.2) 2000 Techno
Plays: N/A on Spotify // 49 on YouTube
Andrew McLauchlan is more or less a techno one-hit wonder, but boy, oh boy, does that one hit of his fuckin' *bang,* man. Originally from Scotland, McLauchlan moved to London to start a small techno label called Figment in '98, who then released a double 12-inch EP compilation the following year called Chorusline, on which the original version of “Love Story” appears. But that track then got picked up by the larger, Manchester-based Bush Records in 2000, and they ended up spawning a “re-edit” version of "Love Story," which became extremely popular among techno crowds at the time.
And that particular re-edit really has to be one of the greatest techno bangers of the early 2000s, if not all time. McLauchlan basically samples a bunch of bits and pieces off of a dusty Brazilian samba record from the early 70s and re-arranges them all to yield his own wild, modern dancefloor masterpiece, pairing those different sampled parts with four-on-the-floor kickdrums and a hand-clap that forms a backbeat.
But it sounds like it takes some time for all of those samples to really start getting deployed, because pretty early on, McLauchlan actually laces this remarkable techno-samba sweat-fest frolic with a wandering piano line that appears to be one of his very own making. And that unpredictable piano piece has a way of effectively leading us from outside the party venue to the right-smack-dab-middle of its revelrous dancefloor.
Now, you might notice a discrepancy here between the fact that this is a very popular techno tune, but that its YouTube play count is extremely low. That's because this exact edit, as it appears on Turbo Records' Turbo Sampler (Vol.2), is just a shortened version of the full-length re-edit by a couple minutes, and has nowhere near the same amount of plays as some other YouTube uploads of the song. It's actually funny that "Love Story" is even included on a Turbo sampler in the first place, because the label never actually released the song themselves. But within that same year, it was also included on label owner Tiga's Mixed Emotions double-disc mix, and maybe that release helped to raise "Love Story"'s profile in North America, since it was definitely one of the mix's best tracks. And maybe because of that mix, people just naturally associate "Love Story" with Turbo too, which is why it's on their sampler? I'm just guessing here 🤷‍♂️.
But also, be wary of the misinfo that's floating around about this mesmerizing dance bop. Places like WhoSampled credit the song's samples to a track by Zé Catimba and Brasil Ritmo called "Martin Cererê" (sometimes written as "Martim Cererê"), but the website actually supplies the wrong version of the song. This version here, by G.R.E.S. Imperatriz Leopoldinense, a samba school in Rio de Janeiro that Zé Catimba himself co-founded, is the far more likely culprit 👇:
youtube
Either way, the two sampled vocal parts that form this tune's "chorus" make for the best parts. They represent subtle, infectious changes to the beat that ultimately lend to this track slapping as hard as it does. Whenever McLauchlan pumps those vocal samples in, the frenetically clanging keys that provide the lead melody throughout most of the track—different from the ones from his own piano piece—drop out, and so does the thumpiness of the kickdrum (though not always). It's a pair of small changes, but they're really vital to making this song as terrific as it is. Each "chorus" generates a small amount of anticipation for the listener as they wait for that kick drum thump and piano to return each time. And by the way, that underlying piano riff might be a looped-up sample of McLauchlan's own as well, since it doesn't sound like it comes from "Martin Cererê" 🤔.
So, If you’re looking to throw some kind of wild dance party with some Latin or international flair, then look no further than this song to be part its soundtrack. It’s a truly timeless work of art that could still stand as the jewel of any techno mix released today. Andrew McLauchlan really captured some lightning in a bottle at the turn of the millennium with this piece of uptempo, samba-sampled dance music. What a goddamn tune this one is!

You are my first ship, I'm so so exited for this omg! 💗 So first of all, thank you so much for participating! Second of all, I absolutely love that your dream is being on Broadway and I'm definitely gonna keep my fingers crossed for you bb!
Now let's get to it!!!
-
So personally I wasn't really sure who to pick at first and I really had to think about this one but then it hit me.
From the information you submitted, I can definitely see you with Chan.
My reasoning behind my choice:
- you're an Aries, which makes Chan's Libra a perfect match for you
- you said you're kind, funny and outgoing yet shy, which I think is something that goes along well with Chan's personality (we all know how shy he can get so I think he'd be very understanding and honestly I can see him finding it cute?)
- you wrote that you're in your softie aesthetic era... THIS IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE - like Mr. I only wear black Bang Chan and someone with softie aesthetic??? Big yes yes from me!! <3 Opposites attract, you can't change my mind
- and honestly I think Chan would be so supportive of your dreams and hobbies, always around to help you (if you need it that is) and maybe the two of you could even do a little secret collaboration (a song or two, ya know?)
- also he would definitely love all your pets and would probably spoil them rotten (btw I love that you have so many of them omggg)
-
"So, what do you think?"
You put down the headphones, turning around in Chan's chair dramatically, a smile that you weren't able to suppress appearing on your face.
"I love it," you murmur, making the boy sitting opposite you on the couch grin widely, dimples appearing on his cheeks.
"I'm glad. You know how much I value your opinion," he states, giving you a little smile that along with his subtle praise makes your cheeks heat up.
Chan does this quite often, inviting you over to his studio to let you listen to some beats he came up with or showing you some unreleased stuff that he's been working on and you love to be a part of it.
Today is no exception, except for the fact that this is no small part of a song, this is the whole thing. And to your surprise it's not one of the 3racha rapping masterpieces, this is a love song, made by no one else but the boy with soft curly hair and huge black hoodie on that now gazes at you with a sheepish smile on his stupidly handsome face.
"It's something new. I'm- I'm not used to such stuff from you," you voice your thoughts, avoiding Chan's gaze as turn to the monitor again.
"Yeah, I wanted to give this a try. Is it too much of a change?" He asks and you shake your head, smiling.
"No, not at all. I think it's perfect," you state, glancing at him and watching as he looks down at the bottle of water he's been nervously playing with while he let you listen to the song.
"I think it's missing something though," he murmurs and you frown a little, not understanding where's he headed with this.
"What?" You ask, turning around to face him again, genuinely confused since in your opinion there's nothing the song could be possibly missing.
"Wouldn't you- I don't know- wouldn't you like to have a part in it?" He offers, looking up at you nervously, his eyes all big and hopeful and you stiffen.
"A- a part in it? Are you serious?" You blurt out, your heart suddenly picking up pace at his proposition.
Chan often complimented your abilities whenever he caught you singing to yourself and he knew well about your dream to make that along with your acting skills into a full time job but never in a million years would you think he would like you to have a part in his work, let alone in a love song of his.
"Only if you're comfortable with it, of course. I don't mean to pressure you, Y/N. I just- I just kinda thought our voices might match well, yeah?" He explains and you hum, nodding your head, still not able to fully comprehend that this is real.
"As I said, you don't have to though," he emphasizes and you realize you didn't give him any solid answer and so you push back your nerves and finally get the words out.
"Yes. Yes, I'd love to have a part in it," you state with a bright grin that Chan mirrors almost immediately with a hint of surprise on his face.
"Really?" He assures and you nod vigorously.
"Definitely. I think you're right. Our voices might match well," you say, your cheeks warming up at the admission and he smiles.
"Perfect. Let's get straight to it then, if you don't have any better plans," he offers, standing up and approaching you just to lean against the table right next to you, making you look up at him shyly.
"No, no better plans. I got one condition though," you state, making Chan raise an eyebrow at you playfully.
"Pasta first."

Out of Hiatus, Into Greatness: EnnieLoud’s 'Out of Danger EnnieLoud is a trip-hop band from London, and this year they are back with the release of their single “Out of Danger” which is an amazing and meaningful comeback. On this track, which was written by the band’s frontwoman Cassandra Raffaele, the band manages to combine effortlessly the trip-hop and the electronic music, creating a chillingly beautiful atmosphere. "'Out of Danger' is a minimalistic masterpiece which is a mix of gentle textures, noisy percussion, and broad effects, leading to an engrossing sound experience. Raffaele's soulfully delivered lyrics are very important and make you feel that you are not alone; he does a great job with cathartic performance that is at the same time intimate and powerful. In this song, lyrics explain the subtle connections between lovers and the feeling of being out of danger after being close to uncertainty emotions. The music's ambient sound, together with Raffaele's expressive voice, offers a song that will bring peace of mind while touching sensitive emotions. The single is a manifestation of a free-creative Ennieloud’s who connects with their fans in a unique way. Such music project is not only their comeback but also, symbolize their status as innovators of the modern alt-soul and trip-hop genre. It is a track that is designed to leave a mark deep within the heart of the listeners, thus making them looking forward to the audio exploration of the duo in their journey of music. In this exclusive interview, we will find out EnnieLoud's inspirations, their creative process, and the path to the creation of " Out of Danger. " We will also talk about the artist behind the music and what the future holds for EnnieLoud'. Listen to Out Of Danger below https://open.spotify.com/track/4RVJTHBn6FTGJr8QsXTReK Follow EnnieLoud on Twitter Spotify Soundcloud Youtube Instagram Facebook What is your stage name Ennieloud Is there a story behind your stage name? Yes there is. Cassandra: It all started by me. I had already a solo project but I was looking for something different. I had so much music inside me that just wanted to come out and make some noise. I wanted to express certain sounds, atmospheres, and dimensions that I hadn't been able to before. And that's where the "loud" part comes from - that desire to make some noise and let it all out. And with the help of the amazing guys in the band, I was able to bring that "noise" to life. And that's how ENNIELOUD came to be. Where do you find inspiration? We got artists from all different backgrounds, coming together and vibing off each other's styles and inspirations. I mean, we've got electro beats represented by BeeOff mixing with my world full of blues and soul. Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin are my muses as well as Goldfrapp, but I am crazy for Moby and the UK trip hop scene. Our inspiration sounds topped off with some pretty cool chilled atmosphere and electro-escape guitars, that’s Ross part. What was the role of music in the early years of your life? Cassandra: Music is my life, ever since I was born, it has been always a part of me. My toys were my dad’s instruments. I feel music like something so familiar. Now, I feel it like an anatomic part of me. I cannot exclude her from what I am. [caption id="attachment_55460" align="alignnone" width="2000"] Music is my life, ever since I was born, it has been always a part of me. My toys were my dad’s instruments[/caption] Are you from a musical or artistic family? Cassandra: Yes I am. My dad is a drummer and composer. I have grown watching him playing on the stages and recording session in the studios. Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry? We have met a lot of people and artists who inspired us, but the London music scene ispired us above all. Cassandra: Just being in that environment, surrounded by other talented artists, constantly exposed to different sounds and styles of music, has been such a source of inspiration for us.
It's like a big melting pot of creativity and we always come out feeling re-energized and re-inspired. But more than that, it's the community aspect that really inspires us. We love being able to collaborate with other musicians, share our love for music, and push each other to be better. It's all about living and breathing music together. Furthermore, one of the most important people has been Chris, from The Lost in the manor. He gave us a lot of suggestions and taught us how to better what we did and we do with music. How did you learn to sing/write/to play? Cassandra: It’s something natural. I studied music anyway and I have learnt playing instruments to express what come easily from the deep part of me. Beeoff studied at the Sae Institute of London, he is a sound engineer, Ross studied music, guitar, drum and bass. He is also a music teacher. How could you describe your music? it’s a mix : alt soul and trip hop, with some teardrops of bluesy and jazzy mood. That’s Cassandra’s fault. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAoD-Fkz9nQ&list=PLHE0C3oPifSE04wVfvtwS6LnBasMoy0mg Describe your creative process. It is various. Sometimes, we start from a loop, or from a verse. About Out of danger, it all started with a sick loop our guitarist came up with. We couldn’t get it out of our heads and knew we had to build a song around it. So, we took that loop and added some dope synth on top of it. Then, the lyrics. Cassandra wrote this one on the fly, from the heart. What is your main inspiration? A lots, musically you know, we are a band of 3 people with different backgrounds as told you. Cassandra: personally, life and people stories are the main sources of my inspiration on my songs. What musician do you admire most and why? We love St Vincent, Alison Goldfrapp, Lauryn Hill (iconic) and Brittany from Alabam Shakes,Celeste, as well the electronic music scene from Berlin. Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career? Yes, it evolved, I mean, it is something peculiar for a musician. Cassandra: Like biology, the evolution is a natural process you can apply to everything, if you want to resist against the extinction. Who do you see as your main competitor? BeeOff: We do not feel music as a competition, but as an opportunity to share ideas, art. What are your interests outside of music? Ross: I am a basket coach; Cassandra: I love street dancing, BeeOff: trekking If it wasn't a music career, what would you be doing? We don’t know. Cassandra: I would need to live another life to answer you, so personally I do not know. Usually, I do not think what I would be doing, but I prefer to think what I am doing. What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music? Reaching people. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3doeOLCLD9sPsmeQolWCZt?si=LUVd2DE9TdG7CnCXy_3M5Q If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be? It is really complex to give you an answer because the music industry is complex too, it changes contantly. I can tell you what I hope never will be changing: the fire of creativity, curiosity for exploring new sounds, love for producing art, against the superficiality of the algorithmsWhy did you choose this as the title of this project? If you look at the world now, we are definitely not “out of danger”, considering wars, atomic war threat. So, our song is without doubt, a message of hope. Love will care people. What are your plans for the coming months? Producing and sharing music. Trying to reach new people with our music. Do you have any artistic collaboration plans Yes, we have it. Stay tuned! What message would you like to give to your fans? This song is our comeback and we wanted it to be raw and honest. We wanted to connect with you on a deeper level. Stay with us! Be part of the journey.

Unwrapping Easter Eggs: Hip Hop's Hidden Treasures
Tumblr media
As the sun sits high in the sky on this Easter Sunday, it's not just chocolate eggs that we're hunting for. In the world of hip hop, there's a different kind of treasure waiting to be discovered—Easter eggs hidden within the beats and lyrics of our favorite tracks.
For those unfamiliar with the term, "Easter eggs" are subtle nods, references, or hidden messages deliberately placed by artists for attentive listeners to uncover. Much like a scavenger hunt, these musical Easter eggs add an extra layer of depth and intrigue to the listening experience. In the realm of hip hop, artists have mastered the art of planting Easter eggs, making every verse, every beat drop, and every sample choice an opportunity for fans to uncover something new. From clever wordplay to obscure samples, here are some notable examples of Easter eggs in hip hop that have left fans scratching their heads or nodding in appreciation.
1. Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" Artwork
Let's start with an Easter egg that's hiding in plain sight. On the cover of Kanye West's magnum opus, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," there's a plethora of imagery to unpack. But one detail that often goes unnoticed is the painting in the background. If you look closely, you'll see that it depicts a fantastical scene filled with various characters from Kanye's career and personal life, each symbolizing different aspects of his psyche and journey as an artist.
2. Childish Gambino's "Because the Internet" Hidden Messages
Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, is a master of incorporating hidden messages into his work, and "Because the Internet" is no exception. Throughout the album and its accompanying screenplay, Glover weaves a complex narrative that blurs the lines between reality and fiction. One particularly intriguing Easter egg is the use of hidden URLs and codes scattered throughout the project, leading fans down a rabbit hole of online mysteries and interactive storytelling.
3. OutKast's "Aquemini" Zodiac References
OutKast's masterpiece "Aquemini" is filled with astrological references that add an extra layer of depth to the album's themes of introspection and self-discovery. From the title itself, which combines the zodiac signs of Andre 3000 (Aquarius) and Big Boi (Gemini), to the lyrical references to astrology throughout the tracks, OutKast invites listeners to explore the celestial influences that shape their music and identities.
4. Missy Elliott's Visual Metaphors
Missy Elliott is renowned for her innovative music videos, which are filled with visual metaphors and hidden meanings. One of the most notable Easter eggs in her video for "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)" is the use of fish-eye lens distortion, which serves as a metaphor for the warped perception of reality in the music industry. Through her visual storytelling, Missy challenges viewers to look beyond the surface and uncover the deeper messages encoded within her art.
5. Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly" Poetic Transitions
Kendrick Lamar is known for his intricate lyricism and attention to detail, and "To Pimp a Butterfly" is no exception. Throughout the album, Kendrick weaves a narrative that transcends individual tracks, connecting them through recurring motifs and themes. One particularly subtle Easter egg is the transition between tracks like "For Free?" and "King Kunta," where the final words of one song seamlessly flow into the next, creating a continuous stream of consciousness that mirrors the album's overarching message.
6. J Dilla's Signature Drum Patterns
J Dilla, the legendary producer known for his pioneering work in the realm of underground hip hop, was a master of hiding Easter eggs within his beats. One of his trademark techniques was subtly incorporating his initials, "JD," into his drum patterns. Listen closely to tracks like "Donuts," and you'll hear intricate rhythms that spell out his name, a testament to his unparalleled creativity and attention to detail.
7. MF DOOM's Masked Persona
MF DOOM, the enigmatic rapper and producer, crafted a persona shrouded in mystery and intrigue. One of the most enduring Easter eggs in his music is the use of comic book references and supervillain imagery, with his signature metal mask serving as a symbol of his alter ego. Throughout his discography, DOOM peppers his lyrics with references to comic book lore, inviting listeners to delve deeper into the mythology he's created.
As we celebrate Easter today, let's not forget to appreciate the hidden treasures waiting to be uncovered in the world of hip hop. From clever wordplay to subtle references, these Easter eggs enrich our listening experience and remind us of the boundless creativity within the genre. So, grab your headphones, embark on a musical scavenger hunt, and see what hidden gems you can unearth beneath the surface of your favorite tracks. Happy hunting, hip hop heads!

This is a masterpiece. The realm of creative mash-ups often leads to captivating artistic expressions that transcend their individual components. One such masterpiece is the fusion of the beloved anime "Azumanga Daioh" and the hauntingly alluring song "Little Dark Age" by MGMT. This edit represents a harmonious meeting of two seemingly disparate worlds that results in an enchanting symphony of sight and sound. In this essay, we will delve into the reasons why this unique amalgamation is a delightful and awe-inspiring piece of art. The Atmosphere of "Little Dark Age": "Little Dark Age," with its mesmerizing synths and introspective lyrics, creates a dreamlike soundscape that effortlessly draws the listener into its enigmatic world. The song's ethereal quality acts as a perfect complement to the whimsical and charming universe of Azumanga Daioh. It magnifies the anime's endearing quirks and adds a layer of depth to its already compelling narrative. The Emotionally Resonant Lyrics: The song's evocative lyrics resonate with the poignant moments of Azumanga Daioh's storyline. As the characters navigate the complexities of adolescence, "Little Dark Age" mirrors their introspective moments and inner struggles. The blend of melancholy and hope encapsulated in the song aligns seamlessly with the bittersweet and heartwarming aspects of the anime, forging a profound emotional connection. Visual Synchronization: The brilliance of this edit lies in the careful synchronization of visuals from Azumanga Daioh with the rhythmic beats and melodies of "Little Dark Age." The editor's expert eye seamlessly matches key moments in the anime with the song's highs and lows, creating a captivating synergy that elevates both the music and the visuals to new heights. Each frame feels like a natural extension of the song, and each note appears as though it was composed exclusively for the anime. Enhancing Character Depth: Azumanga Daioh boasts a delightful ensemble of characters, each with their own idiosyncrasies and growth arcs. The "Little Dark Age" edit, with its eerie undertones and poetic essence, deepens the layers of these characters. It brings forth the complexities and vulnerabilities that often hide beneath their cheerful facades, giving the audience a more profound understanding of their inner worlds. Building Tension and Resolving Plot Points: The edit's adept utilization of "Little Dark Age" as a storytelling tool plays a crucial role in building tension and resolving plot points in Azumanga Daioh. The song's progression mirrors the ebbs and flows of the anime's narrative, keeping the audience engaged and invested in the story's twists and turns. Moments of comedic relief are punctuated by subtle breaks in the song, and climactic plot developments are amplified by the music's crescendos. Cultural Impact and Community Reception: The Azumanga Daioh "Little Dark Age" edit has garnered significant attention within the anime community. Fan-made videos, tributes, and discussions have flourished, celebrating this exceptional symbiosis of music and animation. The edit has not only breathed new life into the anime for long-time fans but has also introduced it to a wider audience through the lure of MGMT's music. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Azumanga Daioh "Little Dark Age" edit stands as a breathtaking testament to the power of creative synergy. Merging the enchanting world of the anime with the haunting allure of MGMT's "Little Dark Age," this edit crafts an immersive experience that captivates the heart and soul of its audience. It exemplifies the boundless potential of uniting disparate art forms and serves as an enduring source of inspiration and admiration within the realm of anime and music enthusiasts alike.

Review: Encompassing a one of a kind blend of folk and rock, h. eldritch shares his newest intricate masterpiece ‘Innocent Sinner’
For fans of Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard and A24's modern folk horror masterpieces, the upcoming artist known as h. eldritch has his own take on the indie-folk genre that’s continually inspiring. With an amazing year behind him from performing four sets at Glastonbury Festival to being interviewed for Wonderland Magazine's ‘New Noise’, h. eldritch continues to make waves as an act with immense potential. His newest offering ‘Innocent Sinner’ yet again proves why he’s more than just a songwriter but a true artist beneath it.
As always from h. eldritch, ‘Innocent Sinner’ begins just as encapsulating yet eerie as ever, truly keeping to his name ‘eldritch’ that denotes an unnatural sinister essence that’s so creatively interwoven into the paralleled warmth and safety folk music. With intricate acoustic guitar finger-picking to lead things in taking shape through its own abnormal fluidity, there’s an intimacy set within the soundscape that unwinds so carefully yet forebodingly, an illusion of familiarity in a respite that lurks with a darker haunting. Slowly growing through the additions of thudding drum beats and a shift in guitar through brighter tones and an intermittent multitude of strings plucked at once, there’s slowly built-up a fleshed out garden of sound rooting its way through the sonic bedding. As this momentum continues through the now padded-out verse, there’s still a rawness flowing through the delicacy of each instrument, tenderly paired with h. eldritch’s sincere vocals. As he glides through the most mesmerising range, his words dance between airily floating higher notes and lurking raspy, emotionally-infused lows, an utterly encapsulating performance that feels like just as much an instrument as any other element within the song. Growing in intensity, the chorus erupts with a harshly delivered line beside more dominant guitar strums and plucks, all the while h. eldritch’s vocals lean more heavily into this hoarse and aching resonance. As things continue forward, this chorus only continues to feel more and more erupting each time it comes back around, lifted by more pounding instruments, booming drums, heightened volumes and pushed vocals, a cathartic outburst of sorts. The way in which h. eldritch crafts within not just ‘Innocent Sinner’ but all of his releases is truly alike no other artist out there, building sound that seems to have free will, moving, breathing, living a life of its own as every element makes itself just as integral to the journey as the organs within our bodies to keep us alive. There is simply too much depth to convey within a handful of words here, too much carefully structured instrumental progressions, vocal shifts, pained and poignant emotion in every harshly roaring word and the more sombre lightly spoken whispers, h. eldritch is talented far beyond anything we’ve ever heard before and if art were alive then he would be the one that made it so.
The narrative of ‘Innocent Sinner’ is unspoken by h. eldritch outside of the release itself, leaving you to work your own inferences within the multifaceted lines he’s connoted no real life message to, a narrative just as enthralling and thematic as the works of Shakespeare himself - and in many ways, just as intricate to pick apart and analyse. Through illusive language and subtle leading lines, there’s so much to sink your teeth into, sowing together a patchwork of your own beliefs and the following so happens to be ours. With h. eldritch singing ‘I’ve been recording my dreams, and so it seems that she’s the one recurring theme like a prophecy’ , he establishes some sort of romance or twin flame with someone who seems to be in some way divinely linked to his being, visualised like a ‘prophecy’ in a way that’s contrastingly religious to the track’s otherwise more tainted language. Admitting ‘she says she’s a witch, I don’t wanna believe’ , the air of the supernatural seeps in like a fight between light and dark both sonically and lyrically the entire way through, offering jarring parallels in language. Further adding ‘there’s a dagger she hides at her side as she sleeps, she’s an innocent sinner like me’ , h. eldritch leaves it unknown whether this acknowledgement is one of appreciation to their similarities or whether it be spoken out of a fear, perhaps afraid of their combined fates. Things fade out as h. eldritch repeatedly cries ‘I am innocent’, a self-fulfilling act that seeks to reassure him of his purity, knowing deep down it isn’t quite true. There’s so much more to unpack within ‘Innocent Sinner’ though, showcasing songwriting at its most elaborate form, its most enthralling storytelling, and its most meaningful depth you’ll carry with you forever.
Check out ‘Innocent Sinner’ for yourself here to really understand why h. eldritch is a one of a kind musician you do not want to miss out on hearing sooner rather than later.

Its lush vocals, funky percussion, and mesmerizing piano stabs make it a must-listen for anyone seeking a sonic journey that's equal parts sensuous and groovy. This track is a shining example of what happens when exceptional talent and creative vision collide, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music.

For todays "Tuesdays Reviews" and also my first review I choose 'FML' Seventeen's 10th mini album!
This mini album is definely one of my favorites from them because of how many details they put on this mini album, it feels so right, so cohesive, so genius.
Seventeen doesn't have any concept, I mean, they don't have a storyline and it's not a problem since they explore various concepts and references and this album really shows this.
F*ck My Life
This song oh my god it really hits my soul, the lyrics is so spectacular, so amazing and it hits me deep down. It's a song I truly relate and it gets me emotional but not in a crying way.
I like how Hoshi's voice is kinda soft in this music compared to others songs in this album, actually, in this song, all of their voices are kinda soft but still strong in a way.
It's a calming song full of emotion. It's ironic while listening to this song I can feel/sense anger but I also can feel and sense a pure void, a true nothing, the same you sense when you're lost in this world, it's like feeling something when you feel nothing at all. The MV shows this all, it shows chaos and them trying to find themselves/each other in the middle of it, it also shows a storm of emotions while being subtle about it.
The key point in this song for me is how you can listen "Fight For My Life" as "Fuck My Life" because of how the emphasize the "For" in a way that's similar to "Fuck". Truly a masterpiece.
2. Super
I will be honest, the first time I listened the song I was like "Oh... I just don't feel the Seventeen vibe for this one..." I really didn't like it at first but then I listened it again and I was like "Oh no THIS IS Seventeen", I really liked it listening again. The performance is powerful and the lyrics and the performance referencing Journey to the West and Dragon Ball (which is based on Journey to the West) is so so so good and genius.
Jeonghan rapping feels so nice and for me is such a new side from him that I wasn't expecting but it came out so good and fresh, everyone was good as always but Jeonghan really owned this for me alongside with Hoshi because Hoshi was just so powerful and energetic performing that left me flabbergasted.
I won't deny, I hated the jeans outfit but they were so endearing performing in sync with the dancers (that are referencing the shadow clones I presume) that I don't mind the jeans outfit anymore, it doesn't bother me because my attention is on how good they are.
It feels so good too to notice how Dino says "Son-Ogong" in korean meanwhile The8 says "Son-Ogong" in a way that you can almost hear "Sun Wukong" in chinese. I also noticed that the song although it's about Sun Wukong it's also about them, kinda referencing their journey in Kpop, it feels as if it's their own Journey to the West.
3. April Shower
This song is also calming but unlike F*ck my life it's a calming that just feels warm and refreshing, like when you're in summer and you get some fresh water in your face with a nice breeze.
When Dino sings "늦봄에 April shower 내리면 우산을 접어 빗속을 걸어" I just feel butterflies, really. This song shows how good their vocals are and shows us a brighter side of Seventeen in this album.
4. Dust (Vocal Team)
This song feels so romantic, I was wondering what thing this song reminded me and then I saw someone saying that sounds like a K-Drama OST and bingo, that's it, it reminds me a K-Drama OST. The music really feels romantic but not in a cheesy-couple way, you know? Even the lyrics is like a hopless romantic but still with hope? The lyrics is sad but the melody is cozy and vivid, like do I feel sad or do I feel nice and like dancing? It gives me mixed feelings in a good way.
5. Fire (Hip-Hop Team)
Being honest this song is my least favorite in the album, it's not that the song is bad it's just my personal preference, it's not my cup of tea. I can hear the funk beat at the beginning and for me it just feel strange listening funk when it's not in portuguese. Their verses are really good, it's just that the beat isn't for me and that's okay, it's a personal preference.
6. I Don't Understand But I Luv U (Performance Team)
This song is definely my favorite from this album, this song just feels so sexy but also feels so romantic, longing, beautiful and kinda sad in terms of melody and lyrics combined that I can feel my brain chemistry being rearranged, seriously.
Dino and Hoshi's voice range gets me every single time I hear this song and Jun's vocals being so vevelty-like as always has me ascending to heavens. The8 voice is also really good, sounding like honey and I'm being serious, every part of this song just matches so damn right that I feel like the time stops.
This song really feels like it's written for Carats while being about Carats and their relationship with Seventeen, specially International Carats, that part about loving someone even if you don't understand what this person says is just so on point about the idol-international fan relationship and the inconditional love that this bond has.
General thoughts
The mini album feels so nice, it's like they're telling their own story, talking about the hard times and the bad feelings they had but also talking about the good times and the bright feelings they had and their relationship as a team and also their bond with Carats, as I said earlier, it feels as if they're telling us their own journey, making their own Journey to the West, and to me that's the most brilliant thing about the album, mixing their history as a group with a well-known story that has various versions. Seventeen once again amazed me with this mini album, that for me is the best album/mini album from this year. I can't wait for their next comeback to see if they will amaze me even more.

These Thousand Hills (Richard Fleischer, 1958)
It is not really my favorite western, but it is certainly one of the ten I prefer; it is also the best film ever made by a persistently underrated director that I value more highly each day, without denying that his long career is somewhat uneven.
I will not say that it is a masterpiece, but I'm quite sure of thinking that for me it can be no other thing: since the first time I saw it, a very long time ago (in 1962, to be precise), until this day, after watching it fourteen times or so, it has always aroused in me a lasting enthusiasm, the same mixed and conflicting emotions, the same feeling of surprising freshness, ever renewed pleasure and an intense admiration, free of the influences of fame and prestige.
As a sample of the western genre it is simply exemplary. It provides wide spaces; a swiftly-growing community that becomes bourgeois and puritanical as it progresses in economic wealth and the civilization of "law and order" conquers the frontier plains; outlaws, landowners, naïve cowhands, saloon girls, embittered and aristocratic gamblers, cowherds, horses - only Indians seem already banished. But it also offers a lot of intelligence, of adult complexity, of narrative clarity and of a much missed sense of justice - and its necessary complement, scandal before injustice - in its subtle examination of a changing society and the development, not always for the best, of all the characters involved. These Thousand Hills has no heroes; I'd bet it is extremely realistic and that it escapes from the temptation of mystifying anything, of creating people of mythical dimensions. It is also, as so many westerns, a tale of learning and initiation, but in more than one ground (friendship, loyalty, sex, love, ambition, treason, violence) and in different, sometimes dramatically diverging directions.
Its cast is quite unusual in its seldom equalled perfection, reuniting some of the best and most obscure supporting actors of its time: Richard Egan and Stuart Whitman, the always pathetic Royal Dano, the reliable Harold J. Stone. Don Murray and Lee Remick were in the best moment of their respective careers (loosely, 1956-1962 for both). The photography in Color by De Luxe (at the height of its physical presence and definition, the latter soon to be lost) and CinemaScope by Charles G. Clarke is among the best I've ever seen: I have never found before or afterwards such a sensuous capture of the cool of dawn, the sweat of effort, the roughness of wooden fences, the shining hide of horses, the fatigue of bodies, the pain of beating and being beaten, the water of a river, the snow, the pastures, the mud.
It has also a title song which has damned me to search unsuccessfully for records by Randy Sparks, and a score that manages to be unobtrusive, functional and beautiful.
Either in interior settings or on landscape locations, in close two-shots of a couple of actors as well as in large frames of hundreds of cows or the thousand hills of Montana alluded to by the Biblical quotation of its title, the use of the wide screen ratio is magnificent, as usual in Fleischer since 1954, and one of the most distinguishing traits of his economical, precise and very unassuming style, miles apart from any attempt at attracting attention to itself.
Its lack of pretentiousness, pedantry and significant dialogue may help to explain why amateurs of "psychological" westerns did not pay any attention to this truly mature, critical and intelligent movie, ultimately closer and even parallel to Bernardo Bertolucci's Prima della rivoluzione than to most standard westerns, lucid like Elia Kazan's Wild River, tragic like Robert Rossen's The Hustler and Richard Brooks' Sweet Bird of Youth, stoical in its lyricism as Robert Parrish's The Wonderful Country and Nicholas Ray's misappreciated Run for Cover. A perfect illustration of the many virtues of American classicism at the height of its splendor and maturity, only a few years before the downturn started. It is a great film about ambition, the lure of success and its power of corruption, about how society works by discriminating some people while integrating those which conform to its values; about friendship, temptation, generosity, ungratefulness, treason and shame. Ethic questions of universal value about which there are no lectures - there is no preaching, we are free to judge or not - but which are enmeshed in the flesh and blood dramas lived by a group of characters which we get to know and understand like seldom in the cinema, through a linear story told keeping to its bare essentials, with order and serenity, with rage and modesty, with tension and tenderness, with delicacy and latent or suggested violence. There is in These Thousand Hills an exhilarating feeling of harmony and plenitude, that we fear won't last, an unstable balance which suddenly breaks, often painfully and even brutally, under the combined weight of its inner contradictions and the pressure of imposed choices, the malaise provoked by the conflict between freedom and convenience. There is also that tragic impression of time eroding everything, and the realization that you don't get any thing without relinquishing another, and that such a dilemma has no escape whatsoever.
One should not forget the screenplay by Alfred Hayes, the man who wrote Fritz Lang's Clash by Night and Human Desire, nor the A. B. Guthrie, Jr. novel on which it was based, but the basic worth of Fleischer's film lies his directing the actors in a style which by now has been completely forgotten: to recall what a pair of eyes, a jawbone, the shoulders or a way of walking can express, you need to have seen Callie (Lee Remick) when she returns downstairs after making herself up and finds that Lat (Don Murray), in a sudden surge of timidity and fear, is gone, leaving the music box playing; and Lat, after drinking to give himself courage in the company of an old drunkard in a stable, stumbling towards Callie's house. Or, later, the jealous Yehu (Richard Egan) wiping out with a knife the dedication to Lat on the birthday cake Callie has cooked for him. Or the spite and disappointment of Tom (Stuart Whitman), when he reproaches Lat for forsaking his friends. Or Lat confessing to his poor wife Joyce (Patricia Owens) his past relationship with Callie and how much he owes her, and telling her she'll have to trust him. Or Lat again, drawing aside a curtain and discovering Callie's face disfigured by Yehu's blows. Or Lat finally risking his social respectability, his economic future and his marriage by facing at last the truth and savagely fighting for Callie with Yehu, partly to forgive himself for not having had the courage and the power to stop the hanging of Tom - after having humiliated him with his haughty refusal to be his wedding godfather, when he sacrificed all his earliest friends to make for himself a place in the sun and let his new respectable acquaintances carry him to the Senate.

I'm so glad you're feeling better 💝💝 I can't imagine how terrible it must have been for you :((
Oh, I have LOVED seeing all your nct stuff lately 🥰 it's so fun!! Speaking of...
I took about an hour to fold my clothes and listen to 2 Baddies and even took notes while listening, which you can see on my blog! I'm going try to post some more cohesive thoughts and do a lil album review type of thing later (if I can make the time)!! But for now -
Overall I REALLY LOVED the album 💞 it was so fun to listen to, and I think the journey the album takes the listener on is SO satisfying!! Faster is SUCH A STRONG opener for the album! It grooves SO deeply and I'm digging into it so much. I thoroughly enjoyed 2 Baddies!! I haven't watched the mv yet... But the song has some really subtle treats in it that just elevate the song SO much. I LOVED Black Clouds in the middle of the album; I thought that was such a good placement for it, and it's everything I want out of a sweet song. Then the last couple tracks are just... such feel-good songs! I feel like I've arrived at the end credits of a really satisfying movie where we got the good ending where everything worked out and we can finally relax and celebrate!
If I had to pick a favorite track I'd say Tasty.. I just love the "we're savage, outlaws, rock solid, no flaws" like.. yeah you ARE!!!

Here's Your Instruction Manual
When he was mine, I really could have used one, so here's yours (or at least, what progress is of it). You can either thank me or pity me later.
He is not one to show you off to his friends. So if you were looking for the guy that would pronounce your star-crossed love to the world, you won't find a twitching breath beneath the stone cold mask. Instead, you'll find a steady silence that has a knack for tricking you into thinking you are unloved. This feeling will pass once the ice melts when you need it to most, and you'll soon find out that he doesn't read his thoughts aloud because he's saving them for your ears alone.
He is not an artist. His handwriting is what seems to be an undiscovered form of hieroglyphics no other living person can translate. His aesthetic is his lack of "proper" aesthetic, and he finds it difficult to play with words, but keep your eyes and ears on him when he thinks he's all on his lonesome. His low voice, humming the fragments of an unfinished song like the blueprints of a building yet to be realized, may not always paint notes in harmony, but these will sing the melody of your new addiction. The bits of jumbled prose he calls poems— the ones he thinks you will never hear— will tug at your heartstrings. Savor these, each unframed and unfinished masterpiece, for they will not come in abundance.
He is not a genius. You may need to explain things once, twice, perhaps even three times. He wants to get it. He wants to get you. The intention is there but he cannot wrap his head around it. Skip the pleasantries, metaphors, and unnecessary fluff. Don't beat around the bush. You cannot drop subtle hints hoping he will cling to them and pick every piece of them apart because he will assume you need more time. Spell things out for him. He does not like solving puzzles so just tell him the solution. He cares for time, and in his eyes, every minute you two spend arguing is sixty seconds you do not spend happy.
He is a drug within himself, but you will be the only one to feel the effects. You'll lose your balance, have no time to sleep, and forget how to create words when you speak. Your nos will turn into maybes and your maybes will turn into yeses. A deep breath in cannot save you from this narcotic. His lips are heroin, his cuts are flowers, and his breath should be your own. If, somehow, he becomes aware of the highs and lows, and the stone wall begins to crumble, do not panic. Behind the remains of what once stood tall, you'll find the reflection of a human beginning to self-destruct. All you have to do is let the tears dry on your sleeves because he didn't want them to fall in front of you.
He is ticklish, but only in one place. He tells people he in fact is not, and no one scoffs in disbelief, but that is just because they never found the spot. Snake your arms around his neck and kiss him everywhere until you both lose track of time. Press your lips against his flesh, an inch or two above his collarbone, and watch him melt into your hands. He is putty. He is yours. He always has been, and always will be if you allow him to be, but right now, in this moment, he is more than ever before.
He is a kleptomaniac. If you're suddenly missing your hair accessories or chemistry notes, they are probably in his bag. Know that he does not have ill intentions. Once you start seeing each other on days you have no classes at all, he'll become fascinated with every aspect of you. He learns by taking and examining for himself. Fret not, for most things he'll give back. The things he'll never return, however, are the parts of you that'll hurt the most when damaged or lost. Take note of your breath and memorize the beat against your rib cage. There's a difference between a healing wound and a fading scar.
If there is anything else you need to know, planting an array questions will not reap answers from him. He will not answer, for he dislikes confrontation and has a penchant for twisting the truth. These are things I learned on my own, and if you do not have the patience to continue what I gave up, then save yourself the trouble.
Instructions always come with the self-explanatory things and are never around when we actually need them.

A/N: And here I am, celebrating the birthday of a fictional character… again. Well, he's my comfort character so I'll keep doing that. As always, lack of vocabulary and grammatical mistakes abound. *apologizes in español*. Let me know your guys' thoughts. I love that shit.

The atmosphere at your place was nice. Dim, orange lights illuminating the ample space as soft jazz worked as background music and the bubbling chatter and glass clattering filled the air.
The whole band was there, attending the obligatory reunion they had after every show. A tradition that seemed to be their way of relaxing before finally going to bed after an agitated night. Except this time, they used Bucky's birthday as an excuse to bring more alcohol and order a cake from the bakery down the street to the apartment.
As usual, Bucky invited you to both their presentation and the reunion, and as usual, you couldn't say no. Not when you knew he'd look for you in the small crowd of the café while he sang the chorus.
Your cup had been refilled at least three times, and your shoes were long lost in the seemingly immensity of the apartment. The cake, in the trash can due to a clumsy Sam and someone's leg that got in his way to the kitchen.
And still, with no cake and just a couple more beers untouched, everyone was having a pleasant time.
The dizziness in your head was well welcomed as you closed your eyes and enjoyed the slow, sensual rhythm of the music. Your foot, moving to the beat. Despite the drinks, you were well aware of your surroundings.
“I think we lost her.” Nat's silky voice suggested, and you could feel her smile in your direction.
Snorting, you said, “I'm still here.” Your head hung from the arm of the couch you were laying in. “Just thinking if it'd be weird if I took a scoop of cake out of the trash.”
“Not weird,” Bucky's amused voice said. “gross.”
Everyone in the room agreed.
“Well then, do something to take that thought out of my head.” You turned to him, watching as he lit a cigarette and held it between his lips.
He sat down on the couch in front of yours, across the coffee table, and spread his legs carefreely.
“Any suggestions?” He asked and you straightened in your seat, knowing exactly what would take your craving for sugar away.
“Play that song I love.”
And you didn't have to tell him which one you were talking about. He knew.
When you first moved in, you told him that since you were new to town, you didn't know many people or places, and he offered to be your tourist guide, but after the show he had to attend… Needless to say, after hearing him sing and being introduced to his friends, the tour through the city was forgotten.
From a metal base, Bucky took his favorite guitar, turned the stereo off and sat down again. Silence fell on the room as he tuned the guitar, all eyes in him waiting for a performance.
Finally, when he was happy with the changes, he accommodated the instrument and started with a softer, acoustic version of that song that talked about a man so in love that he'd get on his knees for a woman, worshiping every part of her, starting with the inside of her thighs and what was further up.
The lyrics were sweet and subtle, yet sexy and direct. A masterpiece, just as the singer himself.
His fingers played skillfully over the strings, large digits moving to create a melody. A thought crossed your mind, one that had little to do with the song and a lot to do with the way he pressed his fingers on the neck of the guitar.
Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was his raspy voice singing love letters, maybe it was his eyes, fixated on you the whole time that had your chest heaving. Maybe, just maybe, it was all of the above.
Until then, you didn't realize you was staring at him, not just watching, staring, drinking in the sight of your handsome roommate singing… just for you. To you.
The bridge was close, which was Nat's clue to sing along, but she didn’t. She let him continue verse after verse, and a movement of red got caught in your peripheral vision.
Ungluing your eyes from Bucky, you saw Nat, urging Sam and Steve and Sharon out. She winked before closing the door behind her. You're welcome, she meant.
The fact that you were now alone, didn't seem to matter to Bucky. He kept playing, fingers creating a delicate, delicious sound that matched perfectly with his voice. You wondered what other kinds of sounds he could create with those fingers, sounds coming from you.
Soon you realized your legs were crossed, thighs squeezing together to get some sort of friction in your drenched cunt.
“Tell me, don't you wanna come over?” Bucky kept singing. “Up all night, skin to skin, baby, I don't mind.” You clenched under his gaze. The intensity of his eyes on you, making you bite your lip. “Showing you what I'd do when we're intertwined, taking you to the top when we're both aligned.”
The song was over, and you couldn't help but notice he changed the lyrics.
Suddenly, the room felt smaller, the air thicker and your skin hotter. You said nothing when Bucky put the guitar aside, spreading his legs and sitting more comfortably. Your eyes wandered down, to the bulge pressing against his jeans and you couldn't stop the moan when you clenched again around nothing.
“So, you gonna come over,” He licked his lips, loving how your breath got caught in your throat as you saw him do it. “Or are you gonna deny me my last present?” He tilted his head, watching as you made your way in front of him and stood still between his legs. “C'mere, I don't bite.” He helped you straddle him, and when you were seated, he drew a line with his lips in your neck. “Unless you want me to.”
And you moaned again, rocking your hips unintentionally over the thick material of his jeans.
“Yes, baby.” His hands positioned in your hips, moving them back and forth at a tortuously slow pace. “Fuck, it's your turn to sing for me.”
And so you did. Your lips grazed his ear, sending shivers down his spine when your whines hit him as your hips kept rocking, your panties and his own clothes, working as a barrier between you and heaven.
Your clit brushed harshly against his jeans through your underwear as your lips swallowed the thin material due to your spread legs.
You could feel the hardness of his cock with each hump, your moans letting him know that. Your arousal, leaving a stain that grew and grew.
Bucky's fingers dug delicately in your jaw, making you face him before stamping his lips to yours in a slow, hot kiss that had your head spinning.
It was all lips and tongues, harsh breaths and shared moans. You managed to separate half a second to take off his shirt so you could run your hands through his worked abdomen before returning to the dance of tongues.
“Shit, baby.” He said after easily discarding your dress, leaving you only wearing your underwear that didn't do much for the cause. His lips, leaving a path of wet kisses up your neck. “Maybe I should take a bite of my cake,” His hands landed unexpectedly in your ass, squeezing as he started to guide you again. “Don't you think?”
You were soaked and panting, the desperation for having him inside of you, building its way to your head.
With the little coherence you still had, you said, “Only if I get to blow the candle.”
You felt the rumble of his laughter in your chest, pressed against his before he turned both of you to lay you down on the couch.
“That's a deal.” Bucky got rid of his remaining clothes and you did your best to suppress the impression in your face as you saw him, glorious and thick and hard as a rock, red tip leaking pre cum. He smiled at your staring. “But it'll have to be later.” He climbed on top of you, taking off your ruined panties along the way. “Right now, I can't wait to be inside this pretty pussy.” You felt his shaft drawing your lips, his hand making sure he was coated with your juices. “Can't wait any longer.”
And he pushed home. Slowly, drinking on every inch he penetrated, on your closed eyes and parted lips leaving a silent meowl.
As soon as he bottomed out, he started moving, a calmed rhythm at first, that increased by the second.
One hand next to your head to keep him from crushing you and the other on the back of your thigh, Bucky hammered fast, the complaints of the couch squelching underneath, the wet sounds of skin slapping and your moans, mixing in the air in a symphony worth listening to.
“You're so fucking tight.” He grunted, his fingers leaving your hot flesh to settle between your bodies. “I always knew we're perfect but, fuck, this pussy is something else.”
He started to draw circles in your clit, the pressure having you wailing and arching your back.
The music falling from your lips was like the song of a mermaid to Bucky, dragging him closer and closer to the edge of the boat, and he'd gladly drown if it was you who sank him to the bottom of the ocean.
And just like an enchanted pirate, he jumped to the waters, thrusting in and out, his tip touching your special spot every time, making you scream.
“God, Bucky. Yes, yes!” Your hands, that had been going up and down his muscular arms, traveled down, looking for his ass to urge him to go even deeper. “Just like agh--, just like that.”
“You like that, pretty girl? You wanna cum?” The pressure in your clit increased and his hips moved faster. “Wanna cum all over my cock? Make a mess on this couch?” Your walls clamped down, a guttural roar leaving Bucky's throat.
Yes, you wanted to say, but the word wouldn't come out, the sensations running down your body, the feeling of Bucky's length finally stretching you out, too much for you to handle.
You felt the string in your belly tensing up, like the ones in his guitar. Except you were sure this one was going to snap at any moment.
Bucky's fingers unglued from your bud and made their way to your throat, the squeeze almost imperceptible as he ordered, “Then cum.”
The coil snapped, your walls clenched and your otherwise loud scream was muffled by Bucky's lips, swallowing the sinful sound as he came as well, hips faltering but never stopping until he was sure his load would stay inside you.
He drew back, pulling out to plop beside you on the soft couch.
Coming down from your highs, Bucky said, “T'was the best present I got today.”
Legs trembling and arms weak, you managed to fall on your knees on the carpet, eyes on Bucky's as he sat in front of you, getting the hint.
“What if I told you…” Your palm took possession of his soft glistening cock, stroking it until it came back to life. Your juices, working as a lubricant. “That was just the first present on the table?”
“I can't leave the others unopened, can I?” His hand brushed your hair before taking a fist on it.
“It wouldn't be fair.” You said, before enveloping his shaft with your lips, ready to listen to the third song of the evening.
