I've started writing translitic song sketches again. This is draft 5. I still need another 5 or 10 drafts, but this is what I submitted to my songwriting group today. I spent a day writing the lyrics and the next day coming up with some chords & melody. Yes, that's a Curtis Mayfield lick at the beginning. I'm teaching several of my students how we get from Curtis Mayfield to Hendrix to SRV to John Mayer.
