“ Gli adulti non giocano, e più vanno avanti nella loro vita, più accumulano proprietà, meno è permesso loro di giocare. Possono ritagliarsi degli spazi in cui praticare uno sport: una partita di calcetto settimanale, o qualche scambio a tennis, ma lo sport non è del tutto gioco. Il gioco autentico presuppone lo sgretolamento dei ruoli costituiti durante la nostra vita. Giocare significa smettere di essere il Direttore e diventare Pirata. Non «fingere di diventare pirata», ma esserlo per intero, immergendosi nella nuova identità al punto da agitare una spada di gomma e urlare di rabbia mentre si assalta un fortino di sabbia.
Il gioco prevede l’immersione assoluta in una storia che ci vede protagonisti con un’altra identità; è un luogo in cui si entra privi di ogni cosa, proprio perché è fondamentale essere pronti a diventare chiunque. Gli adulti possono permettersi l’arte, non il gioco. Possono immedesimarsi per un paio d’ore nel personaggio di un film d’avventura, ma anche in quel caso debbono giustificare questa perdita di identità momentanea con il valore intellettuale dell’esperienza artistica. Non tutti possono permettersi di essere adulti e correre al cinema per vedere il nuovo episodio di Guerre stellari. Non con una spada laser giocattolo da agitare nell’intervallo, almeno.
L’eliminazione del gioco dalla vita degli adulti è il prezzo più grande che si deve pagare per accumulare averi. La vita del signor Langhorne è esemplare, da questo punto di vista: il piccolo Sam influì sempre sulla sua esistenza, e il piacere del gioco non lo abbandonò mai. A/N: So, before I may have said I was gonna make it weekly, and forgot about it 😅 so why not just do it every month or so. There always seems to be new developments. Also I would love to do more rankings on characters or series' or games

Y'shtola & Jiro went down one 😭 I hope they get higher soon. Especially since Jiro is my favorite female in MHA
Stirling is very intriguing since he's a vampire and a figure skater
honestly he's mesmerizing
And Charlotte, I love that she's a goth girl. If I'm honest, in another world, I would love to have her style

Emet-Selch is a joy. I just love and appreciate him so much more after Endwalker. I want more of him honestly.
Bels may have went down one, but that's okay. I want to squish him and cuddle him.
I'm kinda sad that Aizawa dropped. But honestly so many of them kinda pushed past him. With the current season of mha that I'm on, I'm sure that he'll be back near the top. Also, I notice that I'm very much attracted to the dad/parent type characters.
Basil 😭 I'm telling you, I want to see him be a main boy. He's kind of a Sherlock-esque character. But I think his name is more in homage to the Great Mouse Detective? Even still, I LOVED his mini story. I just love him.
Lake has to be here after Sawyer! They come in a pair. Honestly I find her so interesting. She's a painter/artist so she has a lot of knowledge of famous artworks. Just overall, she's super cute.

So Haurchefant may have dropped on my list, but he's the bestest boy anyone did see
Honestly no matter where he ranks, my heart stays with him

I need to focus more on him again 😤 I miss him 😔🥺
Hawks really crashed into me and cupid hit me with an arrow & I just love him. I like his personality and he's attractive 👀
Okay, so Cashew is super cute. He has been since he was a Phone Fling in the game. Now that's a main boy in the game 👀 with voice lines, I've fallen for his puns and him.
Sawyer is just amazing. She's sweet and she's got a bright personality. Honestly her chemistry with her best friend Lake (who's going to be added as a main girl next, I'm so excited) just adds to her likeness.
#5 G'raha Tia, Mammon, Tamaki, Cole, Lotus
It shocks me to see G'raha go from #1 to 5!
Everyone knows me well enough now to know that I'm a major G'raha Tia simp, so this is a surprise to us all
I love him still but some of the others have stolen away my attention
Mammon is not giving up his spot so easily, so he's at #5 once again
But I'm surprised he hasn't gone up. I'm been kinda focused on him too lately. But I guess not to the extent of those in ranks 1 to 4
I've finally made it through season 4 so I definately appreciate and love Tamaki so much more. I know a lot more about him now, which is great too.
Cole used to be my all time favorite Blush Blush character. Yes, he may be a little (a lot) on the Yandere side, but I still love him (It's the voice. Definately the voice).
I LOVE LOTUS. She is probably one of the few ladies that I loved since the day they were added to the game. I love that they keep giving her little story stuff. I would really love to see her join the other main girls.
#4 Estinein, Solomon, Denki, Cole, Ruri
Estinien moves from fifth to fourth!
Honestly Estinien is amazing. I love his so much. The fact that he has beaten three of my best contenders is wild. I'm just waiting for him to break the iron grip of Urianger and take the #2 spot. Honestly I need more of him in upcoming FFXIV stuff. The new adventure stuff with him? Amazing.
Solomon has been plaguing my mind as of late. I guess I haven't given him much attention. Not to mention his song is coming out soon I think. I am awaiting that excitedly.
Denki is just so cute and energetic whenever I see him in the anime. I just wanna kiss his cheeks and tell him how much I appreciate him. Honestly I need a little bit of sunshine like him in my life.
Hehe, Volks. I just adore him. What more can I say. He's the sweetest tsundere 💕
Ruri has been in the top of my favorites since they released her into the game. She's just so cool and I enjoy her dialogue.
Honestly I've been saying for a while that she's my ideal girl in that game
#3 Hermes, Levi, Izuku, Scale, Sirina
I adore Hermes. I have since I've seen him. And just rewatching the cutscenes again, only seemed to fuel that love and adoration for him
So Levi moved from fourth place to third place due to me just having more of an attachment to him lately. That and I can relate to him a lot too. And I just wanna cuddle him and give him so much love. He deserves it.
Izuku also moved from fourth place to third! Same reason as Levi really. I've appreciated and loved him so much more as of late.
And it could also be the fact that I have a cute body pillow of him too 🥺🥰
Scale was actually my favorite boy for a time, and I'm kinda sad that he's third place now. Honestly he's just so adorable.
Also, he was a dragon boy previously, so that was actually kinda cool. It would be good to know that he's a ninja that likes to do the Naruto run.
Sirina seemed to be my favorite next to to Peanut. Honestly it's a tie but I don't wanna do a double-ranking so she landed in third.
#2 Urianger, Barbatos, Kirishima, Poe, Peanut
Urianger & Barbatos remain at spot #2 !
Let's be honest here and admit that I've just been too deprieved of Urianger lately and that's why he's here
maybe he's got an iron grip on me or something
Barbatos is my love so he stays
And Kiri was pushed out of his top spot by Kitkat (Bakugou) 😔 I still love him lots though
Poe has been on my radar since they added him to Blush Blush 👀 and just replaying his little storyline again, I just found so much more love for him
Peanut was my all time favorite but as you can plainly see, she has been bested by Mallory

Fandaniel has been ruining my life lately
also this is the first time he's made it in my top 10!
Naturally, Tannie reigns supreme as the only one in the ranking that remained the same

I don't want to admit it, but I am emotionally attached to him
not to mention I can barely sleep at night, but whenever I listen to Bakugou sleep asmr, I can sleep easily
he might just be my main comfort character as this very moment

Huck Finn: Profoundly Anti-Racist, Not to Be Altered But Tom Is Still Sometimes Annoying
When approaching a nearly universally praised work of literature like Huckleberry Finn there is a temptation to just throw up one’s hands and say “it’s a masterpiece” and anyone who says otherwise has rot in their brains. But this is too easy. One must respond to the text to evaluate and incorporate it as must be done to all art. Conversely, those who judge any work with their own parameters of social worthiness—the secular mirror of religious acceptability that once dominated so many who judged texts—are traveling into a narrowing black hole and dooming themselves to literary spaghettification. Thus one must respond to the text within its own understanding of reality. One should not complain that a Puritan from the 16th century (like Robinson Crusoe) does not understand the concept of animal conservation any more than to fuss over the fact that the poet Homer does not acknowledge the existence of the one true Jewish Christian God. The concepts just did not exist when the work of art was created. What should be considered is what was the author struggling over during his or her own lifetime?
In the same way the social abhorrence to the word “Nigger” (now only spoken by black comics and referred to as the “N word” by everyone else) did not exist in Twain’s day. Instead in 1885 it was still used often. However Mark Twain was certainly aware of the stain of slavery in America and the racism upon which it was built. He needn’t go after slavery, the terrible war had doomed that institution, but the prejudice still needed to be addressed. The rise of the novel’s action, its regular presentment of personal folly which those who use the term while supporting slavery (people as diverse as Pap Finn and Aunt Sally) and Huck’s gradual growth to the wrongness of this position so that he declares that “he will go to Hell” if it means not helping his friend Jim escape from slavery all show an author critical of his own culture. However the fact that so many currently are encouraging the expurgation of the word “nigger” because they feel it is such a foul word, completely miss the powerful anti-slavery anti-racist elements in the novel and dilute the narrative as they do so.
Actually I think that Twain pushes his abolitionist perspective too much in one part of the text at the cost of its artistic verisimilitude. Huck, who is pretending to be Tom Sawyer, tells the tender hearted religious Aunt Sally about a supposed explosion in the steamboat on his way down river.
"Now I struck an idea [on how to explain himself], and fetched it out:
`It warn’t the grounding—that didn’t keep us back but a little. We blowed out a cylinder-head.’
`Good gracious! anybody hurt?’
“No’m. Killed a nigger.”
`Well, it’s lucky; because sometimes people do get hurt. . . .’”
This woman is pictured as a religious, affectionate, good woman whose husband has church services for the local slaves and who joyfully takes in two rambunctious boys and who is treating Jim the captured slave very well. She would likely weep over a wounded dog and yet is then credited to such insensitivity. This indifference to a slave’s life while effective as humor and commentary seems to fail on being true. It still shows Twain’s commitment to the antiracist nature of his book—and makes its alteration in the name of inclusion all the more absurd.
If I have a complaint about the novel, which took Twain eight years to compose, it is Huck’s submission to the ascendency of Tom Sawyer’s cultural and educated superiority near the novel’s end. Huck begins the novel playing with Tom with make-believe pirate fights, pursing the role of attacking robbers against rich merchants thwarted by evil magicians (whom Huck says looked more like a Sunday School picnic defended by its teacher). The fact that Tom answers Huck’s queries by filling his explanations with references to Don Quixote shows what a dream world Tom lives in. That’s all well and good.
But when Huck escapes his dangerous alcoholic father and goes down river with a runaway slave, there is no more fantasy. But there is glorious spectacle and imminent danger. He sees a host of terrible and violent things (bloody feuds and murder in the streets) and shapes his decision about Jim partly in the shadow of these events. Also it is in this section that Huck describes with wonder and beauty the world of the river and the nature which surrounds it.
To have Huck then retreat into the world of Tom’s dream play at the novel’s end—until Tom is shot and Jim has to sacrifice himself to make sure the boy is cared for—is difficult for me to accept. (It’s notable that the beautiful descriptions end at this point as well.) I felt the same way about Mary Tyler Moore stepping into the spin off show Rhoda after she had been through so much. I found Mary annoying, and so do I find Tom. But perhaps I underestimate the appeal which Twain portrays for a traumatized boy of returning to a safe place emotionally and physical after such a perilous journey. Howsoever, the book is a masterpiece and I am glad to have read it again.

Because you're her lil sis and she wants to be a good role model
She definitely would try to tone down the whole 'mythic bitch' act when you're around

She would definitely be very overprotective with you
For example, a guy once made you uncomfortable by hitting on you
Heather spread a rumour about the guy and a week after the incident he was never seen again
Makes you stay by her side in fear of something happening to you
She would be very cautious of Kurt, Ram and people like that

Also keeping you away from JD, but you guys were actually friends
Everyone at school being astonished by Heather's behaviour towards you

No matter how many people thought that she was just an evil bitch, you knew she would go to heaven
The teachers at Westerburg always keeping an eye on you in fear that you'll go off and commit suicide

Meaning he most likely failed to manipulate you
"Veronica, (y/n) is Heather's sister! We can't risk anything. One wrong move and she'll turn out just like her, so it'll just be easier to get rid of her now!"

She knew you had never done something wrong and that you was nice and fair to everyone
After JDs death you and Veronica got much closer
You still didn't know that she was part of the murder of Heather and you never would
You had you're own friend group made up of Veronica, Betty, Martha and Heather Mcnamara

Let's just say the school was not ruled by anyone anymore
