reviewing loki s2 ep4 (major spoilers!)

i was bit hesitant thowards this ep cuz i started noticing how this season parallels the previous one, which went very downhill after ep3 however, i think it seem to get better this time? 🤔🤭 this is so far my fav episode and hopefull they'll keep this energy for the last 2 eps. ok let's get into it:

i don't think this was timed like this on purpose but love how we're 3 days away from halloween and this episode fits with it so well. i could be biased as a horror fan but i loved the eeriness (is that even a term?)

brad you stupidass why are you listening to ravonna when she clearly doesn't care about any of your lives on the time line 😭

ooouu the box scene 😧 not miss minutes' psycho ass smiling like she's getting creepier each ep- also as someone who watches gory movies i expected to see what was left of all the prisoners but then i remembered disney tries to keep shit as "family friendly" as possible altough i am not complaining cuz it's a lot more cinematic to just hear the blood droplets & it leaves space for our imagination!

why does it feel like b-15 is lowkey the true leader of the tva now? i can definitely vibe with that.

(notice how in 1x04 mobius told him to grow up?) he's possibly even more mature then he was in the sacred time line but that was due his sctripted fate of being a "loser" that sabotaged him from more rational choices but now he's free to think & do what he wants n i love that for him.

goodbye miss minutes i assure you that nobody's gonna miss yew. 💁‍♀️

now why did x-5 had to ruin that wholesome moment this badly ><=$^[_=

despite of sylvie & loki not fully agreeing on moral issues and stuff, i enjoyed them working together, it was finally sylvie's turn to show off her magic 😋

loki was so soft & reassuring with victor timely only for him to be spaghettified ?? i knew they'd probs kill him off but i didn't expect it to be such a weird & immidate death 😭 kinda sad cuz i don't think they'll bring that version of him back.

idk how to feel about ravonna getting pruned. not sure she'll get redeemed cuz it's too late for that now but pruning doesn't kill an invidual so it's likely that her story doesn't just end here.

love the soundtrack in this series generally but in the latest episode it's outstanding ! natalie holt truly added her whole 🐱 into this ost 🙏

the cliffhanger is absolutely killing me, i'll have to absorb all the theories until next friday like i fr cannot wait ngfddjfsvbm

i honestly thought they were together or something for awhile in s1 bc of the having drinks in renslayers office, the favourite analyst comment, etc. so i do kinda like as them a ship but i don’t really ship it

i do love a good workplace rivalry/colleagues/office partners ship tho and the power dynamic between them is gorgeous. and the fact that their ex partners and ravonna got promoted could make for some great tension between them in fics

I kinda wish marvel would’ve done a love triangle between mobius, ravonna and victor timely/kang/hwr (idk what to call him) instead of the weird thing with miss minutes. like mobius and kang (i’m just gonna call him that) are obviously very different people and would offer her different things in a relationship so it could come down to does ravonna choose kang bc it gives her power over mobius

Loki: A Timely Introduction!

WOW!! This was a fantastic episode!! Acting was off the charts, and this is really the ‘ramping up’ episode! Things are only going to get crazier from here, folks!! Sylki wise, I’m still anxious, but…slightly less so? Sylvie’s growth is amazing…watching her face crumble as she stood over Victor and he pleaded for his life. I LOVED all the parallels and discussions of free will. But while watching I almost bit through my tongue cause LOKI! TALK TO SYLVIE!!! My beautiful idiots in love

Also, full credit to my wonderful mother, who very early in the episode predicted, step by step, that Ravonna and Miss Minutes would go against each other, have some betrayal, and that Miss Minutes would have the edg, and even that Miss Minutes would have feelings for Victor/He Who Remains. I, horribly mistaken, doubted her, and she turned out to be right. My mother is all I hope to grow up to me.

Miss Minutes is so creepy, but also, HUGE shoutout to the crew and writing for making her a fully developed character! There’s a tendency to make non-human characters less than, but they’ve done a great job with Miss Minutes…and now I want to make a humanized version of her and see other people’s interpretations !

Mobius is fantastic as always, and the ‘butler’ comment is my favorite. And can we get a shoutout to B-15 for holding the whole place together???

Trying to decide how I feel about how Sylvie’s second season two showdown with Ravonna is like. thirty seconds long. And I’ve decided it’s

So like. As much as I personally may have liked a big, dramatic fight, like the one they had back in season one, this final confrontation probably fits her season 2 arc better. The way that it is rather impersonal (in that it was done through X-5), and while Sylvie does still play with her food a bit “I didn’t expect to see you again so soon” and all, it’s still a very brief, one and done thing. “It’s crippling, that kind of obsession,” she tells Renslayer in episode three. Sylvie has been driven by her need, not just to be free, but for revenge, for a very long time. It was one of the things that kept her going, her “glorious purpose”, something to focus on, to fuel her. The TVA and the Time Keepers followed by He Who Remains, yes, but for the longest time, Renslayer was the face of that for her, and the subject of her obsession. Renslayer was the one who plucked her from her Timeline. Renslayer represented everything Sylvie needed to fight

But by the time she catches up with her again in season two, and particularly that second encounter, a few things have happened: one, they’ve already had a fight where Sylvie has got what she needed to get out of her system; two, she’s killed He Who Remains, the person who was ultimately responsible for everything she went through; three, she’s spared Victor Timely, a variant of He Who Remains; and fourth, and perhaps most importantly, she’s actually got to experience that normal, peaceful life she had dreamed of and fought so long so hard and so bitterly for. And she loves it. That’s what she wants. That’s what she values. That’s what she fights for. She’s learning to move on. She’s grown. Defeating Renslayer is no longer the top priority it once was for her. Saving the timelines and all those lives and her life, the life she built, that’s the priority. She’ll still fight, to protect it; she won’t let Renslayer or anyone else take her new life away from her, but she doesn’t feel the need to make revenge a central pillar in her life anymore
