Rainbringer #7: An Artists Lament
A pretty tame chapter honestly. The next ones a doozy. Claire asks questions while Kyler paints a portrait. CW: whumper pov, emotional whump, NSFW themes but nothing actually happens, Whumper having very creepy thoughts, gaslighting, manipulation, noncon kissing, talks about burning and scars. (please let me know if I missed anything).

There was something dark in Kyler’s eyes today. A haunted look to him as he walked in carrying an easel, canvas, and paints in a satchel. The human looked… tired. He knelt, said hello, and immediately went to set up his canvas in front of the altar by the bench. Barely looking at her.
Black circles were so dark around his eyes, Claire actually found it in herself to be slightly concerned. “Did you sleep at all last night?” She asked, stepping toward him, which caused him to flinch. Kyler stepped backward, placing his satchel on the bench, eyes scanning her. His lips pursed slowly and he gave a simple response. A simple shake of the head. He sat down and sighed. Starting to pull out the supplies, his hands shaking. “Kyler,” Claire said softly, “I am not going to hurt you today. You don’t have to worry about that. I won’t even touch you,” she assured. Stepping backwards. She needed to slow down. Things for him were moving far too fast and he was already cracking under the pressure. “Fine then,” Kyler said, looking up at her, eyes wary. “Let's see if you’ll keep to that.”
Claire’s eyes narrowed, but she forced herself to push down the anger. Instead of acting on the anger, she stepped backwards, crossing her arms in front of her. “Where would you like me, artist?”
Kyler seemed to look straight ahead, frowning as he thought for a moment.
“Wherever you’d like, however you’d like. It’s your portrait, I'm just painting it.” “However I’d like?”
His eyes narrowed again, before he slowly said, “Yes”.
She took this as an opportunity to sit herself on the altar, laying down on it. Then, she grabbed the straps of her dress, undid them and let it fall to the floor. Claire laid there, bare, in front of Kyler to see. Honestly, she expected a gasp, maybe even a grumble to put her clothes back on. There was nothing. There was just Kyler staring at her with a studious gaze. Before placing the canvas on the easel. Kyler was a marvel. The lack of reaction annoyed and interested her. Did he not realize that he was in the presence of a god. A god who craved him? Wanted him viscerally??
“You look so lonely over there, clothed and watching.”
Kyler looked up from his canvas, adjusting it so he could see her better. His expression was perfectly neutral.
“I am perfectly comfortable over here with my clothes on, thank you very much.”
She fake pouted and sighed. Draping herself over the altar, looking bored. She was bored. Kyler was always so walled, so quiet, unless of course it was the sarcasm. There were so many things to be learned about him. She needed him to talk.
“Let’s play a game. You paint me, I won’t touch you for a whole day for every question that I ask and you answer.” There was a hum as Kyler contemplated the suggestion. “Alright. Ask then.”
“What are the scars from?”
She could see him stiffen behind the canvas. Face contorted into a grimace as he seemed to recall a bad memory. Slowly, he went back to mix the paint. A sigh leaving his lips. He brought the brush back to the canvas, effectively hiding behind it. “An accident.. when I was a child..”
Claire had figured as much, but still she pressed. “What type of accident?”
Kyler sat up straight and glanced at Claire over the canvas. Lips pressed into a thin line. “What type of accident do you think it was?” he nearly growled. But there wasn’t any real anger behind it. She wasn’t sure if he was even capable of anger. He mostly seemed.. sad about it. Annoyed perhaps as well. She let him have his words today. His sarcasm and defenses. She worried that if she punished him now he would break under her.
There was always time for punishment later.
“The scars look like burns. A fire,” she answered, even though she was sure the question was rhetorical.
“A fire,” Kyler confirmed. Nodding. Hand moving again on the canvas.
“Do the scars still hurt?”
“Why? Would you like to make them worse?”
Claire tightened her fists, glaring at him for a moment. “No. I was just wondering if that’s why you aren’t interested in me. If you’re scared to show yourself to me because of whatever it may look like down there. I assume they are around that area?”
Kyler stiffened again, eyes firmly planted on the canvas. Growling lowly. It was a genuine question from Claire. But it seemed Kyler wasn’t appreciative as he planted the brush on the canvas and began to paint. The strokes were hard and firm. She wondered how he was going to paint her. Evil and domineering? Beautiful and charming? Her curiosity was never satisfied with him.
“They are. But that is not the reason why. I just.. am not interested in that. For anyone.”
“Not even with your partner?”
“Yes, not even with my partner.”
She didn’t understand. “You are very strange for a human.”
Kyler could see him locking his jaw to fight a retort. Probably something smartass like. Something about her being a goddess. Instead he just continued to paint, the brush strokes were softer now. It was lovely to watch him work. Eyebrows furrowed in concentration, biting his lip, watching as his hand methodically worked with the paints and the brush. He almost looked at peace at the moment. It was strange to see him so.. Calm in her presence. It was almost as nice as having him writing under her, screaming.
Almost.
“What is your partner like?”
Kyler didn’t flinch at this question like the others. He glanced upwards at her and she could have sworn there was a semblance of a smile on that face.
“They’re amazing. I’ve known them since I was a child,” his voice was no longer strained with fear or sarcasm. “They pretend they don’t care, but.. They care a lot more than most people.” Kyler seemed to lose himself in the painting and talking.
“Do you like them better than me?”
Kyler snapped his head up, narrowing his eyes. “I’m not sure you want the truth to that question.”
“Why would I ask it if I didn’t want to know?”
The man seemed to ponder this as he chewed on his lip more. “Of course I like them better than you, you’ve hurt me. They haven’t,” he stated plainly. Returning his attention back to the painting. She wasn’t quite sure why that hurt her so. Claire wasn’t that bad was she? Yes she hurt him, but he always begged and she always healed him after. This was a deal, it was.. A mutual agreement. In fact, he should be grateful that she chose him. He should love her. Worship her, be groveling at her feet and begging to be taken by her. Claire huffed and cocked her head at him.
“Do you love them?”
“Yes,” the answer was automatic, that only served to anger Claire more.
“Do they love you? How could they? You won’t let them have you the way they want. You can’t seriously think that they could keep waiting for you forever. They’ve probably slept around with others. Since you don’t want to satisfy them.”
Kyler’s expression was pained, inhaling sharply.
“You don’t know them,” he said, voice shaking.
“I mean.. Think about it Kyler. If you can’t satisfy someone, then.. Why would they want you?”
Kyler looked up at her, eyes hurt, frown evident on his face.
“You’re.. You’re wrong,”
“No i’m not and you know it, don't you? What should I do? What if I want you to satisfy me? Do you think you could even stomach it? Really satisfy me in any way that I want?” The silence in the temple was suffocating. A choked sound came from Kyler as Claire continued. “I want you Kyler and if you can’t even do that for me. What use do you really have?”
“Stop.”
Claire sat up on the altar and hopped off, walking toward Kyler as he stood up and scrambled backwards into the bench.
“Claire stop! You promised,” he begged and the sound was musical.
“I did,” she agreed and then laughed, stopping at the canvas and looked at the painting.
“You really are an artist..” she whispered, marveling at the piece in front of her.
She looked powerful. Draped over the altar, darkness surrounding her, eyes dark and heavy. Claire turned to Kyler, grabbing him by his shirt and yanking him up. Then she pressed her lips against his, feeling powerful too.

Names.
Many years ago a friend of mine, whose life story I already knew in intimate detail, posted about how she had chosen the name Aurora for herself because of the actual celestial aurora "dancing despite the cold and dark." Somehow it told me so much about her, even though none of the facts tied to this- how much she valued joy, her immensely traumatic past, her appreciation of beauty, her understanding of herself- were new to me.
We don't have, AFAIK, any canonical etymology of Anakin's name. We don't even have an extratextual origin like we do with names like Shaak Ti or Qui-Gon Jinn (the two leading theories about where Lucas could've pulled Anakin's name from both have strong evidence against them which makes it all hard to pin down).
We do know that he values his name, that he wears it with pride- in fact this is one of the very first things we learn about him. This is before it becomes one of his last ties to his mother. This apparently remains so despite the fact that it became one of his last ties to Tatooine. We know that when Darth Vader says "That name no longer has any meaning to me" it is showing us how much he completely, UTTERLY subverted himself in his Fall to the dark.
Fanon mostly seems reluctant to assign in-universe etymology to Anakin, with the notable exception of Fialleril's Double Agent Vader (where it essentially means "rainbringer"- world changer, freedom bringer, promise fulfilled, a hoped-for someday feel). Are we afraid to touch it? Or just unable to pin down something about Anakin that might inform his name?
Skywalker is easier at least in a "what was GL thinking" sense. It's even lampshaded in the TPM novelization when a stranger upon learning Anakin's name says "You walk the sky like you own it." It was chosen for Luke, also a great pilot, before we even had an Anakin Skywalker to cry about. Yet it came from Shmi who was not a pilot herself.
Idk pals I just think about names a lot and especially with how big a deal names are between Anakin and Obi-Wan but we'll never know exactly what it meant (in a literal, linguistic sense) to him. Names say so, so much about a person.

Maggie’s pendants and good omens
Yes, you’ve read it right. This post is going to deal with some literal good omens, not just title drop! But first things first, let’s take a closer look at the topic of this analysis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A toucan
The top necklace is a lovely design involving a crowned toucan — believed to be a messenger of gods able to travel between the spiritual and the physical world, often associated with rain and rainbow (a Christian symbol of divine love, grace, and mercy, a reminder of the covenant between God and humanity to spare the latter from future trials like the Flood) — encircled by a gold band (a symbol of infinity, eternal love and promise) spun by a small butterfly (a symbol of transformation, hope, and rebirth). All three symbols combined seem to deliver a divine message of hope for rebirth, possibly resurrection, and the eternal life. Very fitting in the context of the Second Coming.
The fact that toucans were revered by the native South Americans as rainbringers strengthens the symbolic meaning of another type of bird we can spot on Maggie’s clothes in the very first episode, as her character introduction — a swallow. Swallows flying low are also believed to be harbingers of rain and bad weather. If you see one close to Earth or a building, it means that there’s a storm — or a certain biblical tempest — on the horizon.
Tumblr media
In Ancient Greece and Rome swallows were representing Aphrodite, goddess of love. In Christianity they were considered to be of God and symbolized hope, awakening, and revival of life as messengers of spring and protectors from winter colds. Also helped Jesus on the Cross — according to a Christian legend, a group of swallows was supposed to take out the thorns from the Crown of Thorns and alleviate His Passion on the Cross. Humans banding together in the name of good have been a big theme in the series ever since The Them made an appearance, and from what we already know about the unpublished Good Omens sequel, we can assume that Jesus is going to take the spotlight in the upcoming season.
Maggie definitely attracts sudden inexplicable weather changes, like a thunderstorm with weirdly localized lightning strikes or a sudden downpour. And we’re still waiting for some vavooming (and the following happy ending) to happen in S3.
Tumblr media
A heart with an eye
Now, the more nuanced clue hidden in the bottom necklace. I know that some of us were trying to tackle the concept of Maggie’s eye in a heart pendant suggesting her Masonic connotations, but this symbol (or the Eye of Providence in general) isn’t strictly Masonic, it isn’t even limited only to Judeo-Christian art. And while it is used a lot in Christian iconography, we should focus on a very specific example of it already referenced in the show.
Buckle up, we’re making a parachute dive into S1.
It seems like our old friend, Agnes Nutter, still has our backs.
Tumblr media
Prophecy 4020:
Let the wheel of fate turne, let harts enjoin, there are othere fyres than mine; when the whirl wynd whirls, reach oute one to another.
Tumblr media
If you look closely at the bottom right corner of this frame, you will see that as an illustration for the above prophecy the production team chose a 1611 engraving titled The Minde should have a fixed Eye On Objects, that are plac’d on High first found in Gabriel Rollenhagen’s Nucleus emblematum selectissimorum.
In 1635 it was published in A Collection of Emblemes, Ancient and Moderne Quickened With Metrical Illustrations, both Morall and Divine, Etc by George Wither with the accompanying hymn:
Tumblr media
A Heart, which bore the figure of an Eye
Wide open to the Sunne; by some, was us'd,
When in an Emblem, they would signifie
A Minde, which on Celestiall Matters mus'd:
Implying, by the same, that there is nought
Which in this lower Orbe, our Eyes can see,
So fit an Object for a manly thought,
As those things, which in Heav'n above us be.
God, gave Mankinde (above all other Creatures)
A lovely Forme, and upward-looking Eye,
(Among the rest of his peculiar Features)
That he might lift his Countenance on high:
And (having view'd the Beauty, which appeares
Within the outward Sights circumference)
That he might elevate above the Sphæres,
The piercing Eye, of his Intelligence.
Then, higher, and still higher strive to raise
His Contemplations Eyes, till they ascend
To gaine a glimpse of those eternall Rayes,
To which all undepraved Spirits tend.
For, 'tis the proper nature of the Minde
(Till fleshly Thoughts corrupt it) to despise
Those Lusts whereto the Body stands inclin'd;
And labour alwayes, upward to arise.
Some, therefore, thought those Goblins which appeare
To haunt old Graves and Tombes, are Soules of such,
Who to these loathsome places doomed were,
Because, they doted on the Flesh too much.
But, sure we are, well-minded Men shall goe
To live above, when others bide below.
And hey, guess what 4020, i.e., the number of the prophecy, symbolizes in Strong’s Concordance? Periergazomai, a Greek word meaning “to waste one's labor about something” — to meddle, going beyond proper boundaries (where a person doesn't belong); to fixate on what others are doing, instead of doing what the person himself is supposed to do.
It appears only once in the Bible:
2 Thessalonians 3:11: We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
Tumblr media
To make things slightly more interesting, in the Hebrew version of Strong’s Concordance 4020 has another meaning — migbaloth, meaning “twisted things, i.e. cords”. Which doesn’t make much sense until we read the actual passage:
Exodus 28:24 and two chains of pure gold, twisted like cords; and you shall attach the corded chains to the settings.
And compare it to the most recent post on the topic published directly by Word of God:
Tumblr media
What if all these clues didn’t apply to Maggie and Nina, but Aziraphale and Crowley instead? What if Maggie served as a messenger — consciously or not — just like the toucan, delivering the prophecy to those who need it most?
“When the tempest comes and darkness and great storms, and the dead will leave their graves and walk the Earth once more and there will be great lamentations for the end is near, don’t lose hope, hold hands and look up.”
Tumblr media
Basically what Aziraphale and Crowley already did when they performed the 25 Lazarii miracle, only with no interference from Gabriel this time around.
And, if both Strong’s Concordance and Maggie’s personal addition to her second pendant are to be believed, with a wedding band somehow involved in the process.

Have the two lovebirds, Bly and Aayla
^…^…^…^…^
Republic dragon keeper: now, each Mandalorian commander can pick a dragon for their battalion
Bly pick Aayla
Republic dragon keeper: Sir, that is a Rylotian Dancer, those dragons are for looks and show
Aayla: *decimates anyone between her and Bly*
^…^…^…^…^
I’ve decided on some of the species names with my discord friends:
Anakin is a Dune Rainbringer: this species is known to fly high up in the desert sky just before a rain forms
Obi-Wan is a Maned Blossomwing: comes from Stewjoni (the Japanese based headcanon)
Plo Koon is a Dorin Devastator: they live on an island covered in Yellowstone like lakes, able to withstand very toxic air
Tattoinian Sandstorms are a species based on Tusken Riders, they’re smaller than normal dragons, they hunt in packs, raising clouds of sand to cover their movement during a hunt
And Aayla is a Rylothian Dancers, feathered species of dragons only known for looks and beautiful voice similar to birds

I will never shut up about this. I will never shut up about the fact that this is his character introduction. We, as readers, have zero idea who the hell is this man and he says that. What was the point of Takeomi openly remembering the nickname shinichiro use to give him and for said nickname to be RAINBRINGER? And the fact that it started raining the moment he entered this scene?
And it stopped when he got out?
Tumblr media
Was there a reason Mr Wakui????? Huh ?
Was there a reason Draken specifically had to point out that it was raining a lot
Tumblr media
Was there a reason it started raining the day Draken died huh?????
Tumblr media
Takeomi wasn't in the picture?
But in a way, what if he actually was????? Huh???? Why would it rain if not because of the presence of the RAINBRINGER???!!!
Why does it feel like it started as a big thing but Wakui abandoned this idea along the way cause since the new turn of event in the recent chapter I can't really see how Takeomi would have something to do with Draken's death. But I really wonder if Wakui still has something in store about this.
This might look like going far but if you re-read the beginning of the 3 deities arc, it's raining quite A LOT. Too much for it to be just a part of the scenery

y'all ever realize that the four fallen all have cool titles except uraza?
briggan: packleader, pathfinder, moonrunner
jhi: healthbringer, peacefinder
essix: deepseer
none for uraza tho :( and it makes me realize that unlike the other three, who each have unique capabilities they're known for (briggan has prophecy, jhi has healing and essix has perceptiveness), uraza has... nothing. what a horrible time to be alive
if they had just followed up with abeke's role as a rain dancer it would have been perfect. uraza with weather-related powers? yes. uraza splitting the skies in her anger and grief, bringing prosperity from the rain but devastation from the storm? her roar mingling with the thunder? yes. uraza being destined to bond with a rain dancer because in her heart, in her soul, she is one with the rain? utter. perfection.
so for the titles she sadly never got, any ideas for ones that could tie in with her weather-related capabilities? so far i have:
stormbringer/stormwalker/stormcaller
rainbringer/raingiver
lifegiver/lifetaker (depending on where you go lol)
skybreaker
and spellbreaker (as in a dry spell). i think that one's my favourite.

I have so many gripes right now. I am so UPSET. I love Takemichi and Mikey to absolute bits.
Mikey absolutely deserves to be saved, he always deserved to be saved. But not like this. He deserves to be surrounded by the people who love him, his friends. All of them should have a hand in saving him, because they love him.
Takemichi has been one of the best main characters I have ever seen in a shonen. I saw him and immediately latched onto him, because I saw so much of myself in him, and so much of what I aspire to become. I don't want either of them to die. I never want that.
I was glad that we were getting this final arc, because we needed to save Mikey. We couldn't have an ending without Mikey. Everything with the Three Deities seemed like it was setting the stage for something even bigger. But by the end of it, there were holes that weren't getting filled. But that's fine, we still had plenty of manga left to fill them.
Takeomi continues to be an enigma who haunts us. Why was he the Rainbringer and what significance did he have, what about his relationship with his siblings.
What about South. Where did his dark impulses stem from, and why did he need to die.
Senju was very quickly reduced to being a token girl character.
Why did Draken die.
I still liked this arc. It was still grounded in reality and introduced many interesting characters. Everything that came after was still a good set-up. Of course we need to fight Mikey, that's how everything works in their world, they sort things by fighting it out.
Honestly, it was slipping downhill the longer the fight lasted. I was waiting for Mitsuya to fight Mikey, and for it to have the same emotional impact that Pah's fight did. For them, as the remaining founding members, to chip away at the strong front that Mikey had put on by reminding him that they were his friends and that they cared for him. Pah's speech was a punch in the gut for me, there's no way Mikey could have been so unaffected. And yet, it doesn't seem like it did very much if anything. The train sequence was good to have, there have always been allusions to trains, and it paralleled so well with how the series started. But then it didn't go anywhere and was forgotten about. And that seems to be how a lot of things are going right now.
The kicker was the Shinichiro reveal. I always felt like there was something off about him, I never had any feelings towards him except a bit of suspicion. He kept coming up, he had to play a bigger role in everything. And then he did, just not a role I would have imagined. And then we learned about the first timeline. It's tragic, of course it's tragic. It hurt my heart to learn of Mikey's initial fate. But the time leaping and the curse don't seem to fit in with the story very well. Yes, we see it take effect with Kazutora when he killed Shinichiro, tying that together. But there are still so many questions.
How does Wakasa know about about the time leaping and everything about what Shinichiro did.
Why does Sanzu seem so nonchalant about receiving those scars from Mikey, when that was before he learned about time leaping or alternate timelines. Why was he so keen to continue to be Mikey's friend. We still haven't seen this incident from Sanzu's POV and I highly doubt we will at this point.
One of the best things about Tokyo Revengers is how real the stories were. All of the characters have so much heart and personality. You can feel their pain. The decisions they make make sense. The way they act makes sense. The reason everything was as impactful as it was was because of how grounded it was. These were stories that could happen, the time leaping was always secondary. We thought Mikey was suffering from a mental illness, which would be realistic and could be fit into the story easily. Now he has a curse afflicted upon him which makes him have dark impulses. It can work, but it's not as powerful, what message can we take from this.
When I read the first arc for the first time I thought Takemichi was so relatable. He is just like me. And he fought and persevered and grew through his trauma. He was inspiring and I love him. I still love him dearly. All of the decisions he makes still make sense for his character, I am grateful for that. But everything else that is happening does not make sense. I need Mikey to be saved, but he should be saved by everyone working together, not just Takemichi. Isn't that the message that the manga has been trying to send this whole time, that we need other people and we need to learn to rely on them because we can't get through it all on our own.
I'm disappointed. It seems like we may get a generic shonen ending and Tokyo Revengers deserved so much better than that. I don't know if this was Wakui's decision or if he had to change things for the editors. I had so much faith in Wakui making an amazing manga that sent amazing messages and had amazing characters. And while most of it has been wonderful, I don't know if I can stand the heartbreak of a bad or unfulfilling ending. I can't.

#24: Takeomi Akashi
He is sadness incarnate and deserves a hug. I'll give him one 🫂
TW: smoking (?)
This time I tried giving the image a bit of an ethereal feel playing with the transparency of the smoke plume. I chose a different, real life picture reference to shape and fill it, to make something that looked less solid and heavy than the manga panel.
Also worked with several shades of pink to give depth to the scar. I know it's supposed to be an old injury and realistically the edges wouldn't look so sharp, but I liked the contrast with the soft curls of the smoke, the cloak edge and the hair.
Tumblr media
Also, didn't find a real, manga canon eye colour? He is always in the background in the official coloured images and I can't discern the colour. But he feels grey. It suits him, a bit "colourless". I don't know, he gives me melancholic vibes, being the rainbringer and the "good for nothing" friend.
I combined several techniques I have been testing in these portraits: semi realistic hair, frayed inking, shiny metal colouring, and volumized black. Also, I forgot to mention it before but Sanzu and him are the first for whom I shaded the eyes in a different colour than grey, and I thinkit looks way better. They look much more alive.

Amatakka Names
In DAV 4 - The Slave Who Makes Free we have Imer Moonspinner, Grandmother Nittu, Tarrok the Togruta Runaway, Beru Whitesun, Myana, the oldest of the Twi’lek children hiding on Ord Mantell, and Bentu Rockstrider. Fialleril's Children of the Desert adds Amee, Melee, Wald, Seek, Imer and Denak Moonspinner, and Waru and Parin.
In the Desert Storm Series (first part of the Ben Naasade Saga) we have the Skywalkers (Omi, Anakin, Ji-Kest, Luke, Shmi, Nuna), the Whitesuns (Beru, Kania), the Sandseas (Terena, Kereth), and Ma Jira.
Jira, Beru, Luke, Anakin, and Shmi are of course from the official verse, where we also see the Darklighter family (Anya, Biggs, Dera, Gavin, Huff, Jula, Lanal, Rasca, Silya, and Trepler), the Marstraps (Kai, Camie, Windy), Hala, Amee, Jenna, Janek Sunber, Haro Whitesun, Dama Whitesun, Deak, etc
Finally, LEGO Star Wars gives us Kordi, Zander, and Rowan Freemaker.
These names are fascinating. @fialleril has written about it here. And then there's Shmi's wonderful self-introduction in @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning's story Ruin:
“I am called many things by many beings,” [Shmi] declares quietly, but firmly. “But I am Shmi Ekkreth, She Who Walks the Sky and Sees the Way. My face is Ekkreth’s face, and my heart is Ar-Amu’s heart, and I am Amavikka, as was my mother before me, as will be my children after me. I would tell you a story. Will you hear it?”
So I come to the conclusion that Amatakka names usually include one part in Amatakka (Shmi, Anakin, Ji-Kest, Lukka,...) and one part in Basic that means something in relation to the stories (the stories that will save your life).

Culture Note - the Sky Kingdoms
According to the Sky Kingdoms, all creatures were born from the souls of the gods left to develop on their own. From the pelt of the wolf sprung dogs full of loyalty. From the tail of the from the eyelash of the ape fell the monkeys brimming with curiosity and determination. Foxes emerged from the great Boom and their adaptability and cleverness is clear to this day.
The cats were the last created - done by several of the young gods left on the planet. When they turned their gaxes sky-ward, missing their own creators the direct daughters of Rayushu and Ashara took fur from their pelts and carefully guided its creation.
When these cats were born, their creators regarded them seriously "To return to our parents, we must give up our mortal forms. If that is to happen, we cannot continue to help you."
The Rainbringer gestured upon the world, where the many creations roamed freely and with joy.
"You are the protectors of this world - retainers and shepherds. All of these creatures are precious parts of our souls and you are to shoulder the responsibility of protecting them. Grant them freedom should they wish to roam, grant them food if their bellies rumble, grant them shelter should the rain come hard and always know that we watch for you."
With that, the gods climbed the skies and broke through to their creators leaving the world in the paws of the newly created royal families.
While other creatures exist to live and roam, the purpose of a royal is to guide and protect.
