I tried to answer this in the original ask box but apparently not only can they not be edited in drafts, they also cannot be edited once posted. This came out more as a drabble than anything else. I hope you like it, and I'm desperately sorry for the long wait.

He could practically already hear her before he even picked up the phone, and to be perfectly honest, he was beyond not in the mood. Still, Rafael hadn’t spoken to his mother in weeks. Better to answer now and get it over with rather than not answer and run the risk of irritating her even more.

“Hello?”

“¿Rafael, cómo vas a aparecer en un programa sin el pelo peinado?”

“Mami, what are you talking about?” he asked incredulously. “Do you have any idea how long I spend on my hair? Too much time.”

“Bueno, Rafa, I don’t know what to tell you porque the angle wasn’t the best, pero parecía como una escoba. The light was behind you though, parecía un ángel.”

He rolled his eyes at the blatant exaggeration that was quickly followed by a compliment that she regularly employed.

“If you knew you were going to be on TV, why didn't you dress nicer?” she asked. “You know how many women watch this show?”

“Mami, I’m a bit busy right now. I promise, I will call you later, but we’re sort of dealing with a crisis at the —”

“Niño, pero, why do you think I’m calling?!” she asked.

He let out a silent sigh as his eyes closed.

“Rafi. Rafi.”

“Yes, I’m here, Mami,” he replied.

“Why didn’t Benson do anything?”

“Mami,” he said with a little more bite than he meant to use. Taking a breath, he said, “Listen to me, those producers, Jeffrey and Regina Prince, they’re lying. Not just that, they’re setting up their producer to take the fall when they were the ones who tried to cover this whole thing up.”

“No me diga,” she replied. “Aye la pobrecita Melanie. She seems like a nice girl. Her mother must be so worried.”

“We’re doing everything we can for Melanie, Mami, I promise.”

“I know you are, mijo. I’m very proud of you, Rafi,” she replied. “Pero if you’re ever going to be on another reality show again, por favor, make sure that at least your tie is on straight.”

“Shit!” Rafael cried out in pain as he stepped on one of your daughter’s toys. “How many times have I told Sofia to keep her toys out of my office?! She’s got a whole damn room JUST for toys!”

“Raffi!” You hissed loudly as you came out of your daughter’s room. “How many times have I told you, watch your fucking mouth!”

The two of you exchanged mischievous looks as you slowly walked towards each other. You were ready to have some “mommy and daddy” time after the long days you had both had.

“Yeah! Watch your fucking mouth, daddy!” your daughter’s tiny voice rang through the door, causing your smile to fade into horror, while Rafael’s smile only grew into a hearty laugh.

“She gets it from you, you know,” he teased you as he pulled you close into a hug with a kiss pressed to your forehead. You were distracted by the horrific sound that had just come from Softa’s room.

“Shut up, we both know you’re the one with the dirty mouth,” you pushed him slightly while he continued to press kisses all over you. “I have to go talk to her,”

“Ay, Y/N,” Rafael pulled you closer, making you face him. “We’ll teach her about ‘naughty words’ tomorrow,”

“But–” You glanced towards Sofia’s room.

“Right now, I wanna teach you about naughty words” He growled seductively, beginning to nibble on your neck.

“Mmmm…” You closed your eyes, all thoughts of Sofia and her potty mouth drifting from your brain.

“Alright, I guess she can wait,” You gave in and began kissing him passionately while he picked you up and took you to your bedroom.

Soon, he was putting his “Dirty mouth” to good use.

Rafael wasted no time getting intimate with you. It was literally out the car, out the clothes, and in the bed.

A year back, you and Rafael got together, but you wanted to take things slow, and he agreed.

But now, you felt ready.

It was another long day at the precinct, for you at least. It had gotten to the point where Liv even told you to go home. You liked to get ahead of things because you knew you would dread drowning in paperwork after the fact.

This particular night, however, was a different story for Rafael. He wanted to surprise you. It was you and his’s 1 year anniversary and he wanted to make the day special as can be.

You didn’t forget about your anniversary, you had gotten him a gift, you just didn’t have the time to go drop it off at his office.

So there you were sitting at your desk filling out paperwork when a very familiar figure appeared in your sight. You quickly found out that it was Rafael.

“Rafa.” You smiled, getting up from your desk.

“Hi baby.” Rafael smiled back, pulling you into a hug. “Happy anniversary.”

“Happy anniversary.”

Rafael planted kisses on your lips. You then went back to your desk, and Rafael followed suit, pulling up a chair to sit next to you.

“Paperwork again?”

You nodded. “You know how I am Rafa.”

“I’m staying here until you finish. I wanna take you home tonight.” Rafael said, reaching over to stroke your thigh.

You smirked, knowing what he meant.

“Duly noted, Counselor.”

Rafael finally got you home. Beforehand, you gave him your gift, which was a watch he’d been eyeing for months. He was ecstatic when he opened the box. After, he pulled out his gift, which was a matching gold necklace and bracelet set. He took the liberty of putting them on you.

“I know we talked about it, but are you sure about this? About everything?”

“Yes, Rafa.” You responded, helping him out of his suit. The only suit you wanted him in was his birthday suit.

“Okay.” He smiled.

With that, the two of you wasted no more time getting in the bed and each other naked. Clearly the second step was ignored.

Against his best interest, Carisi ignores Barba's warning, and he finds himself becoming something he had never thought he would be: a victim. Sonny’s gaze tracks Barba as he leaves the elevator and navigates confidently along the busy corridor, briefcase swinging, towards the courtroom where Sonny waits. When Sonny catches his eye, Barba smiles. It’s only a small upward twitch at the corners of his soft lips, but it somehow manages to reach his eyes.

Sonny likes to imagine it as fond.

He offers his own smile in response, cautious as always not to let it say too much.

One day soon Sonny will take off the mask that veils the real smile he’s hiding and Barba will be overwhelmed by its brilliance.

There’s a new bar where Forlini’s used to be, but it serves the same purpose. Lawyers and cops and nervous witnesses, all tucked in and drowning their sorrows or soothing their nerves. Celebrating their wins.

Liv and Stabler are at the bar, knees touching, elbows bumping. Rafael sees them before they see him. No more wide mirror behind the bar to give him away; the wall is an opaque mosaic of spent wine corks now.

He almost leaves. But then she spots him — recognition, shock, panic. Then a tentative smile as she beckons him over.

Like a fool, he obeys.

Virginia was nothing if not a dam good actor. Her whole life she’s been pretending, pretending to be happy, to be safe, to understand, to be okay with the subtle sexism of her job.

Of course today was no different, she pretended to be happy, pretended to be safe, pretended not to see his face in the crowd.

She kept her head down and sped to the office. She pushed inside the building in a blur, not even saying hello to Carmen. She put everything she had on her desk and sunk to the floor.

Her skin was flushed and she was out of breath. She brought a hand to her face and let out a shaky breath.

She stood and raised her head to face the door. She could see him in front of her, she was startled and she jerked back.

He smirked and walked closer, she stumbled back and whimpered.

“Hey there slims.” His face twisted into something ugly as he took another step.

She let out a soft scream and pushed back into the wall. It was by the Grace of the gods that Carmen knocked on the door.

“I’m sorry Virginia, I didn’t know you had company. I can come back if now is a bad time.” She said sweetly staring at the man.

She shook her head rapidly and stood up straighter.

“No, no, sorry Carmen he was just leaving, wasn’t he.” His smirk fell and he glared at her, turning to walk out.

She let out a breath of relief and faced Carmen.

“Thank you Carmen, if you see that man again please let me know. Also please call Lieutenant Benson and tell her I’m on my way.” She voice was shaky as she spoke.

Carmen looked at her, concern written clearly on her face.

“Are you all right Virginia?” She asked kindly.

“Yes, thank you again Carmen.” She gave a curt nod as Carmen left the room.

She took a breath to steady herself, she must’ve spent at least 20 minutes curled up in a ball by her office desk. She eventually stood back up and hailed a cab.

Normally she’d walk, she enjoys the brisk morning air. She didn’t want to chance it this time, not with him lurking around.

She made her way into Manhattan’s 16th precinct with a confident smile, even though on this inside she was screaming.

She strolled into the precinct and made her way to Olivia’s office. Like always she knocked and opened to the door without waiting.

“Virginia, Carmen said I should be expecting you. So, is this about the Stevens’ case?” She smiled politely.

“No actually, this isn’t business it’s personal. I need help getting an order of protection.” Liv’s eyes widened, shocked.

“Are you alright, against who?” Olivia leaned forward quizzically.

“I’m fine, it’s a man named Riordan Watts. I can’t file it myself, so I need you’re help. I used to have one but it expired recently.” Liv seemed confused but didn’t question her.

Virginia took a deep breath.

“Did he threaten you in any way, harass and or abuse you?” She knew this was just parent of the procedure doesn’t mean she liked it.

“Not recently, because of the last order.” Olivia nodded, wrote something down and looked back up.

“And what’s your relation with him?”

“Nothing by blood, look this is all in the other order, I just need help extend it. I’m not allowed to do it for myself. I asked.” She looked down, confidence faltering slightly.

Liv took her glasses off and sighed. She nodded and looked up to her.

“I can get this to Barba, he can get an extension.” Her heart skipped a beat.

She didn’t want her hero to look into her past, but she didn’t really trust anybody else. She nodded and stood, thanking Liv before leaving the office.

It was only a few days later, when Virginia was on her way to court, that Rafael showed up. Clad in an expensive, pristine suit and his signature smirk.

Virginia grabbed her bag and was about to head out the door. Rafael slipped into her office. She turned around and was startled to see him there, she laughed softly at herself.

“Hello Rafael, I’m just on my way to court. What can I do for you?” She smiled in his direction and his smile faltered slightly.

“It’s about the order of protection, I filed with the court. Judge denied, said that it’s been long enough that he isn’t a threat anymore. I’m sorry.” Her smile fell.

She looked down and grabbed her things more frantically. She violently stuffed files into her bag and approches the door again.

“Thank you Rafael, but I’ve got to get to court.” She walked past him and didn’t look back.
