A whirlwind of rage, Hero threw the door open, stomping forward to slam their hands down on the desk in Superhero’s office.
“Why do you have to tear Villain down like that, Superhero?”
Superhero looked up calmly from the papers they’d been reading and looked Hero in the eye
“Simple. They don’t have the temperament for this job—”
“What?”
“—they’re not like you, Hero, not like us.” Superhero continued calmly, breezing over Hero’s interruption.
Hero just stared incredulously at Superhero for a moment before launching heatedly into a defense of their friend. “They’re the best trainee in the academy, more than that they’re the best person I know! Villain deserves more than anyone to graduate from the academy and go pro as a hero”
“Exactly. They’re too good, they won’t be able to to make the real decisions, seize the right opportunities. They’re simply not selfish enough. Not when it comes down to it, not like you” Superhero jerked the pen in their hand at Hero as they finished. Hero reached out in retaliation snapping it out of their hands and into the desk.
“I’m not like that.”
Superhero raised a doubtful eyebrow at Hero.
“You sure about that? Why don’t we test that little Hero?”
Hero took a step back.
“What do you mean?”
Superhero stood up and gestured at the door.
“I mean you’re formally dismissed, send Villain in”
.
Villain re-entered the training room dead quiet, eyes gazing into nothing. Hero took a step towards them concerned and slightly apprehensive.
“Villain, what happened?”
Villain slowly turned to look at them, and the moment Hero caught their gaze they burst into tears.
“Villain!”
Hero ran forward, gathering Villain in their arms as their legs buckled slowly pulling the both of them down to sit on the floor
Hero’s voice was soft as they asked Villain again what happened, but Villain could only shake their head mutely before crawling into Hero’s lap and clutch desperately at them as they sobbed into their shoulder.
Hero hugged them back letting them stay together like that for a what seemed like hours
“Hero?” Villains finally voiced with their head still buried in Hero’s neck.
“Mm?”
A whimper, “Hero, please.”
“Shhh, just calm down. You’re okay, just breath , it’s okay” Hero rubbed soothing circles on the sobbing Villains back as Villain sobbed into their shoulder.
Hero glanced up at the smirking Superhero watching them both through the door, and felt a flash of irritation run through them.
They clutched their arms a little harder around Villain’s waist. Having Villain, smart, closed-off kind, lonely Villain, crying and vulnerable and in their lap and clinging to them felt like utter perfection. Damn it. Superhero had been right, they weren’t a good enough person to give this feeling up. Not when this felt like everything Hero had ever wanted.

(Morally grey pt 3 wasn't ready, so you have this.)
(I've like 3 unfinished works. Why do I do this to myself)
Trapped
"Let me out!" Villain shook the bars of the cell. "I'm serious, let me out of here!"
From the cell across from them, Hero glared. "Shut up." They snapped. "Do you really think that Supervillain will release us just because you asked them too?"
"Well, it's worth a shot." Villain defended themselves. "Unless you have a better plan?"
Before Hero could respond, the hatch above them opened, and Supervillain dropped down. "Aww, are you two bonding?" They teased. "How adorable."
"Ah, if it isn't the motherfucker themselves." Villain taunted. "Why don't you go do something productive for once in your life and go get some-"
Supervillain wrapped a hand around their throat before they could finish, slamming Villain against the bars. "You want to repeat that?" They growled in Villain's ear.
"Leave them alone!" Hero shouts. Supervillain turned to face the crime fighter, but kept their grip on Villain's throat.
"Really?" Supervillain dropped Villain, who fell to the ground, gasping for breath, to walk over to Hero. "And what will you do if I decide to break them?"
"You won't get that far." Hero snarled. "Because I'll stop you."
And Hero ripped the cell door off it's hinges and smacked Supervillain with it, sending them into the wall. Villain gaped as the hero stepped out of their sell and rifled through the unconscious criminals pockets.
"Uh, Hero?" The crime stopper turned to face their nemesis. "Can I ask you something - what the actual fuck?"
Hero cocked their head. "I don't see a problem?" They said.
"I do!" Villain gestured to the door. "Why the hell didn't you do that earlier?"
"...Because I can only do it when I feel strong emotions like anger." Hero said, shrugging as they dragged Supervillain into another empty cell, closing the door after they left.
Villain could only gape. "So how did you do it this time?" They asked.
In response, Hero's gaze darkened. and they strode over. "Because of this." They traced the spot where Supervillain's fingers had left bruises on Villain's neck. "They hurt you. And the only one who can hurt you is me."
"I..." Villain's jaw was slack. "I... uh..."
Hero chucked, before walking away, heading for the trapdoor.
"Wha- wait!" Villain called. "Where are you going? Let me out!"
Hero turned. "I don't think it'll kill you to wait a little longer, will it?"
They left, leaving Villain with their thoughts and an unconscious supervillain.

Claiming
The front door slammed and Villain felt the whole house shake. Immediately getting up from their position on the bed and running towards the front door.
Villain knew something was wrong even before they saw Hero’s expression and their watery eyes, they knew there was something off in the way that Hero tossed their bag to the side carelessly even though they always took care of their things. Villain knew something was wrong at the sight of the complete mess of their lover and the tension that hung in the air.
“Hero?” The one in question paid their partner no mind, walking right past them and into the living room. They tossed their phone onto the coffee table and flopped onto the couch, face first as they hugged the nearest pillow to their chest. “Are you… alright?”
“What do you think.”
Stupid question, stupid answer.
Of course Hero wasn’t alright. They looked distraught and they were definitely crying now, chest heaving in shaky breaths as they clutched the stray pillow closer. Grasping it like a lifeline as Villain followed Hero’s previous steps to the couch and crouched down beside their hidden face.
One of Villains hands landed softly on Hero’s back, rubbing soft circles repetitively as a way to ground their lover. Trying to calm them down as much as possible so they could figure out what was wrong.
“Hero?” Villain tried once more, this time Hero turned slightly, angled just enough that one red and teary eye could open and see the concern written on Villains face.
The other smiled, glad that they could coax a reaction from their crying hero, moving a strand of hair from over their revealed eye. “Can you tell me what’s wrong, baby?”
Nothing changed for a second. Hero just stared back into Villains gaze, until finally their eye flicked over to their illuminated phone screen sitting face up on the coffee table. Villain followed their gaze and then leaned back just enough to be able to see what the screen was showing.
Oh.
It was a series of text messages that started off innocently enough, a few memes but no actual conversation, and then, a rather… suggestive text from the other.
Villain twisted for a better view, still keeping one hand on Hero’s back. Displayed in the texts it was obvious that Hero was shocked, if not uncomfortable, with the message.
Hero had never been very good at deciphering tone and jokes always needed to be obvious or they would pass completely over their head, Villain found it adorable. But, here, in these messages, not even Villain could find whether or not this other person was kidding. They didn’t make it obvious. They didn’t make it clear. And upon being asked, they didn’t respond.
What.
Anger flared in Villains chest. Something about how this person knew Hero was in a relationship and still decided to send such a text and that they had even considered flirting with Villains Hero, made their heart beat quicker and blood roar in their ears. Not to mention the fact that they hadn’t even cleared up the meaning behind the text either.
Villain was upset, and it must of shown because all of a sudden Hero’s crying worsened and they had averted their gaze back to the comfort pillow. Realization dawned on Villain, Hero thought Villain was mad at them.
Instantly, every last bit of anger that had coiled in Villains stomach disappeared. Turning back to face their lover and wrapping their arms around them. Holding them close and tighter then they had ever before, rocking them gently and carding a hand through their hair as they wept.
Eventually, Hero calmed down. Almost falling asleep in Villains embrace before they began to slur out words.
“I-I don’t, d-don’t want you t-to feel bad…” Hero hiccuped, shoving their face into the crook of Villains neck. Their lover only shushed them quietly, whispering praises and reassurances into Hero’s hair.
“I-I hate… I hate i-it… w-why can’t they… j-just leave us alone…” Hero’s sobs were dying down but their breath still came in hitched waves and Villain could feel a few stray tears fall down their collarbone.
“It’s okay, baby. I’m not mad at you. Take a deep breath. It’s alright.” Villain comforted Hero the best they could, but they couldn’t deny the feeling of worry in their gut either. They had always feared a day when Hero would find someone better then them. To which Hero had always told them was impossible since Villain was perfect. But now, those words didn’t seem to be enough to remove the ache in their heart.
Hero seemed to realize. They tensed slightly before pulling back from their significant other. Looking them in the eyes and Villain saw something shift in them, they didn’t have the same sad look anymore. This time there was a new air of anger that crossed them and something behind that, something even more intense.
Before Villain could open their mouth to ask, Hero had pinned their lips together. Locking them in a claiming kiss. One hand behind Villains head, pulling them closer if it was at all possible.
Hero broke the kiss Villain had completely succumbed to, only for a second, Hero’s hands gripping into Villains waist and flipping them around until Villain was pressed up against the back of the couch and Hero was leaning over top of them.
“You’re mine. And nobody is ever going to change that.”

DC X DP PROMPT #18
Danny sometimes forgets that it isn't normal to let the ghosts of your dead best friends speak vicariously through you - especially as a totally normal human boy.
Danny is only confronted with this fact at the face of a very concerned hero. (You pick, just anywhere that's not Gotham because it is much funnier. I personally lean towards one of the flashes)

prompt #101
The villain’s fingers closed around the sidekick’s throat, digging so hard into the skin, it was already blooming with red marks. They gasped, choking and grappling uselessly at their wrist, but nothing was working. The hero shakily lifted themselves onto their knees, tongue spitting out words before they could stop themselves.
“Stop!” They blurted, their voice shaking. The sidekick’s eyes were wide with terror. “Stop it, just–just let them go. Let go of them. I’ll give you whatever you want.”
The villain calmly turned their head towards them. The sidekick squeaked when their grip tightened in a cruel, almost mocking gesture. “And what would that be?”
The hero released a shuddering breath. Their pleading eyes met the villain’s, relaxed and unbothered. Their lips quivered.
“Me?” They breathed.
With the way the villain’s lip twitched into a knowing smirk, the hero knew they had given the right answer.

"I cannot believe you! I don't wanna even see your face right now." Hero rages, throwing their hands up in disbelief. They're dressed down in their normal civilian clothes, and so is Villain, who's currently looking at them all too pleased.
"I mean, can you blame me?" Villain asks, voice still light.
"Yes! This is the third date of mine you've ruined this month," Hero steps up to Villain, getting in their face, pointing at them as they talk. "What I do outside of my Hero work is absolutely none of your concern."
"Oh please, none of these people have even been worthy-"
"This guy was so nice! I could have really liked him." Hero interrupts, eyebrows drawn down into a harsh glare. Villain grabs the hand currently inches from jabbing them in the chest, holding it tight in their own grip.
"That's part of the problem. I don't want you getting too entwined with any of these lesser people. Your focus should be on me," The Villain's voice was now laced with seriousness, making sure their claim was understood. "Us, our fights, our rivalry. Me."
"Possessive freak." Hero bites back, but doesn't take their hand away.
"Let me make it up to you if it upsets you that much. I'll take you out to dinner."

The hero coughed blood.
Fucking shit, they thought frantically, hand pressed over the gaping wound in their side. Their new opponent packed a serious punch, more than what the agency had expected when they sent the hero out to stop them. Somehow they’d escaped, but not without the nasty stab to their stomach.
Class two villain my ass. The hero grunted as they stumbled into an alleyway, nearly slamming their shoulder into one of the brick walls. They slipped into damp corner and sat down gingerly, their breathing shallow. Cold sweat broke out on their forehead.
They shook the sputtering communication device on their wrist. Busted. The hero suddenly realized with disturbing clarity that they would die here if they didn’t get help soon, bleeding their guts out on the floor.
Blinding pain shot through their torso, and they closed their eyes, muscles clenching. They couldn’t stand up, not without passing out. And with their internal bleeding, pressure to the wound would be largely ineffective.
They were so totally fucked.
“Hero?”
The hero’s lids snapped open. The cloaked figure before them dipped and swayed, but they forced themselves to concentrate. No, that wasn’t their assaulter, that was—
“Villain,” they rasped.
“What are you doing all the way out here?” The villain’s tone was mocking, but could the hero hear a hint of concern?
The hero attempted a sloppy smirk as they approached. “Oh, y’know, just decided to get stabbed and die today. Regular hero shenanigans.” Shit, their words were slurring.
The villain didn’t respond, crouching down in front of them. Their fingers brushed over the throbbing cut on their cheek, ghosted over the bruise on their jaw—it was funny, the hero noted, how the villain's first instinct was to check their face—before trailing down to the still-bleeding wound at their side. Their hand paused.
The silence was so thick that the hero could hear their wavering heartbeat in their ears.
“Who did this to you.” The villain’s words were quiet. Deadly.
The hero choked on a disbelieving laugh. “Like you care,” they wheezed, but even they could hear the doubt in their own voice. When the villain continued to wait for an answer, they added, "One of your lackeys.” Their eyes fluttered as a wave of fatigue overwhelmed them.
The villain snapped their fingers. "Hey, stay with me." They gently removed the hero's limp hand from their side, examining the gash. They swore under their breath.
"That bad, huh," the hero huffed.
“This looks like [other villain]’s work,” the villain muttered. “Destroying your comms, letting you escape with a fatal wound, making you think you’ve gotten away when really,” their eyes slid up to meet the hero’s detached stare, “you’re on the brink of death.”
“How kind of them.”
The villain shook their head. “Why were you even fighting them? They’re superhero’s responsibility. You’re supposed to be going after me.” They paused, gaze darkening. “And only me.”
The hero shrugged minutely. “Agency assignment.” Their muscles clenched as white hot pain rattled through them again, leaving them weaker than ever. “Can you just kill me already? That’s what you came for, isn’t it?” They titled their head back against the wall and closed their eyes, feeling their body grow more distant by the second. “Just fucking do it.”
They heard the villain move, and they waited for the knife against their throat or the gun at their temple, but instead, gloved hands slid under their back and legs, lifting them up.
What? The hero shifted weakly, but the villain shushed them and bundled them closer to their chest.
“No questions. I’ve got you,” the villain murmured, holding them tightly as they sprinted down the alley, making sure they didn’t jostle their injury. “You can sleep now. I’ve got you.”
And the hero, somehow feeling safe in their enemy’s arms and too tired to wonder why they were being saved, succumbed to the pull of unconsciousness not a second later.

(My first multi-part thing!!!! Kinda planning on 3 parts, at least, for this one. Might go for 4, not sure, it depends on how the others are written out, and whether y'alls want a happy ending.)
(it's past 11 pm here, so this is rushed. I spent a lot of my free time trying to find an alternative to Google docs. The AI thing creeps me the fuck out. Hope you enjoy anyways!)
Edit: Fixed the links!
Morally Grey Pt. 2
Part 1 Part 3
TW: Non-consensual drugging, kidnapping
Superhero stared dully at the paperwork in front of him. He hadn't ben able to focus on his work since his talk with Villain, and people were noticing. The other heroes kept coming up to him, asking what was going on. Some assumed he'd hit a snag in a case. Others had (correctly) assumed it was a lovers quarrel.
"Which means more to you - the city or me?"
"I can't take it anymore!"
"You better figure out which one is more important for you to keep, before I'm gone forever."
Villains words rang in his head. They swirled, hitting on different points, and reminding him of the choice he had to make. A choice he didn't want to make. He wanted to continue to have both - Villain and the hero life. But he knew that his Villain would never let him do that.
"Everything ok, Superhero?" He jumped as Secretary walked in.
"Everything is fine, Secretary." Superhero answered, shifting some paperwork on his desk. "Do you need something?"
Secretary smiled. "Some people might believe you when you say that," She sat down on the edge of the desk. "I am not one of those people." She took the papers and organized them. "What's going on.
Superhero sighed. "I... I'm having a problem with a lover." He admitted. "He's saying if I don't leave the hero business, then he'll leave me. I don't want to lose the man I love, but I also love my job." He buried his face in his hands. "I don't know what to do."
"This partner." Secretary said slowly. "Are they directly affected by your career?"
"I-I feel that answering that question will lead to questions I cannot answer." Superhero said, to protect Villain from the public.
"Then I suggest doing what you need to do to make you happy." Secretary said. "Consider this choice a fork in the road of your life. You need to decide which path to take, and what your future will look like from this point on."
Superhero smiled at one of his oldest friends. "Thank you." He said. "I will take your advice to heart."
Secretary smiled. "No problem." They said, standing. "Why don't you take the rest of the day off, and I'll handle this." She gestured to the mess on his desk.
The crime fighter stood. "Thank you, Secretary." He said. "I think I've made my decision now."
"Well, I've still got your workload." Secretary dismissed them. "Bye!"
Superhero left, a plan forming in his mind.
~
Villain climbed into the warehouse the same way that he got in last time - through a fucking window. Once inside, he crept along, prepared for anything. Superhero had asked Villain to meet him here, claiming he'd made his decision.
Villain hoped that the decision in question didn't shatter him like glass.
"Villain!" Superhero cried in excitement when he rounded the corner. "You're here!"
"Barely." Villain muttered.
"I brought food!" Superhero gestured to the spread laid out on a blanket.
Villain grinned. "Why didn't you say so?" He sat down and picked up a cracker. "So what did you want to talk about?" Villain asked, mouth full of crackers.
Superhero joined him on the blanket, and poured his boyfriend a glass of wine. "So, I was thinking about what you said the other day." He said, psyching himself up for some big speech. "I love you." He continued as Villain drank some of the wine. "You're my everything. I can't live without you."
Villain nods, wiping his mouth on his sleeve. "Yeah? And?"
Superhero took a deep breath. "But I can't leave my team. I've put too much work into them."
Villain froze. "So you're choosing your team." He said flatly. "I-I should have known." He laughed bitterly.
Superhero reached out, but Villain stood up. "No, I'm done." He walked off, prepared to leave and never come back.
Only to stumble as the world tilted sideways. Arms wrapped around him as he tumbled. "Easy there, sweetheart." Superhero soothed. "Maybe I went too hard on the drug."
"D-drug?" Villain tried and failed to sit up, collapsing limply into his lover's lap. "What drug?" A chill went down his spine. "What did you do to me?"
"Oh, it's a simple thing." Superhero said, scooping Villain up into his arms. "I dosed the wine with it, and you're helpless. You'll black out any minute now."
"S-stop." Villain tried to shove Superhero's arms away. "Don't touch me." He was slurring now. He didn't have long.
Superhero laughed. "Did you honestly think I'd let you walk away from me?" He leaned down and kissed Villain's cheek. "You're mine, and I will never let you go." Superhero smiled. "Goodnight sweetheart."
Villains whole world went dark.

i love the idea of jason being a little bit possessive.
when someone is trying to talk to percy in the middle of a conversation they’re having, he might sling an arm over percy’s shoulder and tug him a bit closer.
when someone tries to ask annabeth a question when he and her are picking strawberries together, he might start to take annabeth’s strawberries to distract her.
when someone asks hazel to give them a gem, he might loop his arm through hers and steer her in a different direction.
he doesn’t like people interrupting his time with his friends. at all. even his other friends.

you know im thinking. im thinking maybe Yoichi wasn't even that into captain hero as an adult, but AfO kept bringing LITERALLY every conversation back to that because he decided to Be The Demon Lord and so Yoichi like, can't get an argument in unless he uses the same material so he's like 'oh my god i haven't even thought about that comic in ten years but even i know the bad guy didn't win. you should not be basing you whole identity, business model, and world destruction plan on your five-second impression of a comic book bad guy who didn't even win! also you shouldn't kill people!'

Bad End possession AU Been playing with the idea that possessed!rulie is basically like an "awakened ganon" By some incredible misfortune, forcefully possessing the hero as well as attaining two pieces of the triforce simultaneously has caused him to remember every incarnation of himself from the past and future
RIP Rulie's hyrule, you will be missed
