im a cottagecore girlie in the "i grew up next to a pond and regularly went fishing and orange picking in my backyard" typa way but also in the "floral dress and mushroom decor" typa way.

im part of a (suspected PDID) system but never do sign offs or anything just don't get thrown off if we say we instead of i. most of the time its the same person posting anyways. also im ace lesbian, disabled, and black.

I put active effort into being kind (not nice) to myself and others and considering that sometimes people are still learning. There's been a lot going on, and I own this excellent deck but don't really know how to do readings. May I have a reading?

It's really not that hard! I think people build up this mystique in their head, but traditional RWS*-inspired tarot cards (as opposed to oracle cards, etc.) have fairly specific meanings assigned to each card by now, and most people who design decks these days have those meanings and symbolism in mind. So you can just go online and look up the meanings. Lots of sites will have lots (sometimes conflicting) information and you can just kind of take whatever feels right. Also, most decks these days have some kind of pamphlet published along with the deck and tucked inside the box, so you can read it and find out exactly what the artist was intending for their imagery and symbolism.

But... yeah, it's an art, not a science. There's no "wrong" answer.

Once you're doing the actual reading, you can do fancy layouts (the sites will also explain those) or single-card draws or the simple 3-card draws I do when I do tarot nights. It's really, really up to you. I know some people who do simple 1-3 card readings for themselves every day just to kind of think through the day's events and how they're feeling at that moment. There are no, like, scary tarot laws that dictate how you use them.

For me, I kind of end up writing fanfiction in my head lmao. (Or maybe... meta is closer...) When I do these three-card draws, I just think about the meanings of these three cards and how they might intersect. Sometimes the deck itself affects how I feel about things, sometimes what I know of the person affects how I feel about things, whatever. Just think of them as jigsaw puzzle pieces that you can fit together however feels right to you.

In the end... remember this. Tarot has always just been a card game. A bunch of occultists over the years assigned meanings to them in largely ahistorical ways based on whatever they felt like. So you're allowed to do that, too. There's nothing innately mystical about these cards. You can even build a house of cards out of them, if you like. (Though... they're glossy enough that it might be hard. lmao) So just do whatever you want and don't stress out. 💜

*RSW -- Rider-Smith-Waite is a traditional tarot deck from the beginning of the 20th century, and it's the one that a lot of modern decks borrow imagery and symbols from. You also might hear it without the "Smith" but that's just misogyny because Pamela Colman Smith drew all the pictures and they tried to downplay her contributions for decades but fuck that. :')

Anyway, you'll see a few of those cards when I talk about this Muppets deck in a little while, and you'll probably be like OH I've seen those. They're everywhere.

THAT SAID, ONTO THE READING.

(Strength, The High Priestess, The Chariot)

Oooh, look at anon over here. So big and strong, both emotionally and physically.

Strength and The Chariot are kind of two sides of the same coin. They're both about strength and willpower, but Strength is a strength that focuses inward and The Chariot directs it outward.

In other words, when a challenge comes your way, it's The Chariot that carries you through, that lets you tackle it head-on with a sort of stubborn joy and a forceful attitude that will let you go far. Strength, on the other hand, helps you emotionally deal with the challenges as they come. Both of them speak to a sense of stability, though, and an ability to deal with struggle and rise above it.

The High Priestess is, again, a liminal kind of vibe -- both inward and outward, within and without. She helps guide you to inner intuition. So she helps you look inside you so deep that you're able to access an understanding that's much larger than just you can contain. She helps you find the route through coming to understand your own power, I suppose.

So I guess... looking at the three of these, you might have challenges coming your way, as ever we do. But if you keep your head about you and seek inner truth, that will help you control and steady your own feelings -- which will let you parlay that into outward drive and success.

(Get it? Drive? I'll show myself out.)

The Chariot, I'll note, also has strong connotations of literal travel sometimes, too, especially in this deck. You're on the road to success, but you might just also be on the road! So maybe enjoy the ride.

xv. the devil

the devil is major arcana tarot archetype number 15. ruled by capricorn, this card symbolizes anxiety, temptation, and queerness depending on the circumstances in which it is drawn. the light aspects of this energy highlight fear and addiction to negative cycles and patterns, while the shadows of this card draw attention to awareness of self and freedom.

because the card is drawn upright (light aspects) in the teaser, this is an indication that leo is struggling to escape from something, perhaps a fantasy that started off beautifully but has changed over time. some capricorns are also notorious for overworking themselves. while leo is not a capricorn, this energy could indicate how stressful his identity as an idol truly is—and the fact that he continues to do the work regardless whether it is painful or not, possibly because he feels obligated or the rewards are larger than the risks. it could also be so simple as leo playing a losing game with his lover (in this concept)(or in real life idk jtw personally lmao) and knowing they won’t win but he’s still willing to play even though he will lose them and end up hurt in the end of it all.

the teacher card for the devil is major arcana archetype number 6—the lovers. ruled by gemini, the lovers is all about choice, compassion, and relationships. we are in the midst of a lovers year, and the light aspects of this energy highlight love and boundaries around how you live your life, while the shadows of this card focus on imbalance and widespread misregulation in your relationships.

the lovers teaches the devil to be more compassionate with themselves, patient with their desires, and to remain aware of how they present themselves in the world and their intimate relationships.

there are four other cards in the spread leo laid on the table so my random little guess is that they are the lovers, the chariot, death (scorpio energy, all about transformation, would be really fitting!), and maybe the hermit since that’s number 9 in the major arcana and the album is titled piano man op.9 🤍

✨ PAY-WHAT-YOU-WANT TAROT READINGS ✨

If you've been here for some time, you probably know that Tarot inspired my original music, so here's some more information about my latest offering 😊

Tarot found me when I was 16 and our long-term relationship started there. We were these friends who parted ways and wouldn't talk for years but then would bump into each other by chance and catch up over a cup of tea, sharing all kinds of stories. And then a few years ago, our relationship finally evolved to a whole new level when I lost my way and Tarot was the only friend I could open up to, the friend who helped me understand myself. I realised that I no longer wanted to be apart and it felt like the most natural thing in the world.

I've been reading Tarot for myself, family and friends since I was a teen, and I believe that it is a wonderful and absolutely magical tool for self-discovery and self-development. Knowing how powerful and transformative these readings can be, I want other people to experience it too.

Disclaimer: While I have been reading the cards for years, I am always learning. I currently offer these readings in exchange for tips and feedback to level up my reading skills, gain more experience and eventually become a professional Tarot reader.

Here's how I like to read the cards:

My readings are usually 3-6 cards.

Topics I have read on include (but are not limited to) love and relationships, work, decision-making, creative pursuits, self-love, and self-development.

I appreciate any context you're willing to provide for your question as it helps me tailor the spread for your specific situation. Please share what you feel comfortable sharing.

I do my best to deliver the messages from the cards (both encouraging and challenging ones) in a compassionate and empowering way.

I do not tell you what to do or what will happen, I provide guidance to help you navigate the situation. Your free will is your own, as are your decisions and actions.

I was once told that I read the cards like a comic book. I do enjoy exploring the imagery, finding connections and patterns, and putting the puzzle pieces together.

I make sure that your reading focuses on you and not on other people. I will not read on the feelings and/or thoughts of another person who did not consent to a reading.

If it is a yes/no question, I rephrase it to give the power back to you.

One thing there’s is to understand is that Austin loves to kiss Y/n, he loves the feeling of her velvety lips on his, the warmth of her breath, the taste of her and the little whimpers she lets out every time

She is few good inches shorter than him, but he adores that, the way her chin tilts up, when she asks for a kiss, or how she looks at him through her long lashes
