WELP the noises stopped when I went down there and I couldn't find any signs of life or holes in the walls or leaks. I didn't hear anything down there. came back upstairs and the noises are still pretty pronounced, though... even Geist is prowling around looking for stuff.

I didn't see any evidence of mice or anything, but I guess they're good at hiding... if worse comes to worst there, I guess I've got a cat.

after my roof failed a couple weeks ago, I am Hyper Aware of my century-old house and now I'm just like. god. if there's something wrong with the floors or pipes now I'm gonna scream.

okay americans i gotta ask because as an European i grew up with lots of american shows and cartoons and in a lot of them there was an episode where they give the protags a doll or an egg or a bag of flour or whatever and told them pretend to be its parents or something

OH WAIT I FORGOT I lied, my first anime (other than the kids' ones that were chopped to bits) was ~kiki's delivery service~

we had a vhs that my sister and I watched until it about fell apart. it was the dub, but I guess that didn't matter because my little sister is deaf so my parents often put movies on with the sound off. I was allowed to turn the sound on, if I wanted, but I usually didn't bother if I'd seen it before. I really valued quiet (uhhh probably related to neurodivergent sensory issues) so I would absolutely just watch spongebob in total silence haha.

the CC was almost useless on most of our VHSes back then, so we had a LOT of movies that you could follow well without hearing them. mom and dad would interpret for my sister the first few times, and we were left to our own devices after that lmao.

lmao be nice to me, I never saw sailor moon because we didn't have any of the channels that had it when I was a kid. we lived in the middle of nowhere in southern ohio, okay. I didn't get the good channels until we moved when I was a preteen.
