Tubbo: Maybe we play with hitboxes on, just in case there's anyone invisible around...
Not to sound crazy or anything, but seeing a Code attack after all this time on someone who doesn't know what it's like to feel afraid of them (yet) got me like:

foolish learning that etoiles is infected by the code and his response to to get jealous and then get absolutely dunked on by everybody else saying he wants to kiss the code (with tongue). get destroyed by the code. he wants the code to come. code admin is head in hands right now Not paid enough for this

etoiles isn't just in his divorced dad arc because he's sad he lost the fight and his beloved shield- he genuinely feels worse, because the thing that has become a living part of his body is missing. The codes didn't just take back a toy, they took back something that was IN HIM. he must feel so wrong atm. whatever fight that was in him is kind of missing.

Now... I know I'm late... but I was honestly hoping they were joking. A mistake on my part, I admit. One I won't make again.

Why does colour not mean shit when characters are flat out saying on page in print that black does not suit 🌸, and using colour theory is a stupid way to 'prove points' ...
But when it's in favour for THEM? "Who.. who said colour theory is stupid? Clearly not me. SJM post pink image. CLEARLY telling us the next book is 🌸's !! I can't wait!! 🌸/🦇 CONFIRMED!!"
Honestly, at this point, I'm waiting for 🌸 to be wearing 🍊 or has a vision of a 🔥 and they find a way to link it back to their ship. "OMG 🌸/🦇 CONFIRMED!!"
Because of course 🍊 and 🔥's are related to 🦇/🌸 right? Totally not 🦊's thing or colour at all.
It will happen. I'm like 93% sure it will. I'm seeing that they're APPARENTLY claiming that 🎶 is an 🦇/🌸 thing, when really it is a 💎/🦇 thing. And remember when they tried to claim the ❤️ beat scene?
Anyway. I don't ship 💎/🦇 ... mainly cause I don't like 🦇. But I stand with you guys. You guys are cool.
I think it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, but I ship 🌸/🦊. That's who I ship and will always ship. That's not gonna change.

Something I find interesting is that with the rule about not saying a cats name so that their soul won’t come back, it’s very hard to teach true stories.
This is even demonstrated when Yellow is nameless and first tells the story of Yruuin to Fire and Cinder (and Swift), and uses it as a metaphor for Broken once the kits have left. The monster is real, it is every true thing in the clans that cannot be spoken about due to the clans own rules and customs.
It feels like a very trust based system. You trust the code will cover everything that could be done, and everything that has been done is covered by the code. You trust that all around you are and will follow the code.
Of course everyone follows the code! Maybe minor things here and there are crossed, no one is perfect, but those big things, who would even think abut doing something like murmuring a clanmate or attacking kits? And yet…
Stories that are passed down will only show accounts of noble and great cats, because all the monsters cannot be cats with names, they cannot be spoken about.
And that thing canon did, where Tigerstar became infamous and kits re-enacted big battles against BloodClan and eventually there was tigerstar the second, named after his grandfather - that can’t happen here, in theory. It not supposed to, at the very least. I find it interesting, thinking about all this.
(Also Firepaw being confused about the logistics of the rule is perfect, I love it ahhh)
The Clans are really good at referencing events without naming them, honestly. It's a special skill they have. Stories don't name the perpetrator, coloring them as a monster or shapeshifter that took the form of a cat to harm the Clans or hurt one specific individual. Mentions in conversation are extremely vague, to the point that only a cat who had lived through the event would know what their conversation partner is talking about, and it would fly over the heads of other Clans. Prefixes aren't used until everyone who was there is dead and can't remember the pain.
We'll cover this a good deal in the next book, but suffice to say, Fireheart hates this rule. He's not one for hiding the truth, no matter how scary it is or how much it hurts.
In short:

Dark Ace is Lightning Strike
Part II
Okay so we getting a part two because this is still on the brain and I have to many aus that I've built too much around but I've decided to accept this as cannon for the original series so here we go.
Harrier trusted Dark Ace enough to make a deal with him.
That's it, that's part two.
Why would this pompous, stuck up, by the books skyknight make a deal with a skyknight killer? It's no like Terra Rex was in any kind of immediate danger from Cyclonia. They appear to have the largest squadron out of every one we've seen. And! Terra Rex also appears to be well equipped and have a lit of resources just on the terra. They dont look as run down and recycled as Atmosia does. The knights all have new shiny armor.
Why make a deal with the most feared man in Atmos when clearly you are not desperate to save your terra?
Tumblr media
Well, But He's Lightning Strike. He still has honor. He was a friend. He let Harrier live.
Whether we like origins or not and while I take it all with a grain of salt, especially with this theory, we know Harrier was at the battle to end all battles.
He saw the betrayal. I'm sorry if I saw a 16 to 18 year old murder his skyknight I wouldn't trust him with anything except more deception and death. He's never lost a sky duel and he out right says "If you live you win, and I never lose."
Dark Ace is fully willing and able to kill anyone he deems necessary.
Yet Harrier survived the battle to end all battles. Hes the only one we can identify in that flash back that we see later.
Tumblr media
He defends Dark Ace when the team is outraged he made a deal. Yes he turns out to be wrong but maybe he truely thought he could still trust the honorable man he knew ten years prior the challenge. Maybe Dark Ace would have kept his word had the Rex Guardians not been cheating pricks.
Tumblr media
He is genuinely surprised when Dark Ace pulls the rig out from under him with the "honor is over rated" line. He had hoped this was still the man he knew and trusted and its devastating for Harrier when he isn't.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fight after this moment is extremely personal for Harrier. Hes still stuck up towards the storm hawks but he also took a very deep blow to his trust.
This isn't just because he thinks the storm hawks are children who don't know what their doing. When Piper says "you don't know who you're dealing with." Harrier very roughly tells her to be "Quiet." He pretty much yells it in raised agitated tone. He did know who he was dealing with. But Dark Ace isn't the same man he remembers. Lightning Strike would have stayed true to the deal. Dark Ace left that part of him behind.
Btw, link to part one here

OMG, ANOTHER THING ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Two seconds after Mick Davies is talking about a code, we see Ketch kill Madga, the girl Sam bonded with, and he shoots her in the chest.

When Sam kills Emma, Sam is psychologically wounded, becoming obsessed with stabbing his heels into the dirt and makes the job as black-and-white as possible. He's also, at the time, trying to pt a CODE in practice.
He becomes obsessed with "not choking."
He accuses Dean of choking because he's become so afraid for all of their safety, especially with all that's happened...
...NOT TO MENTION Dean's grief terrifies Sam in the same way John's grief did.
Sam is a bit like Bobby in this regard. Im response to recent trauma, his psychological-wound-of-the-moment sways in the direction of, "Be ruthless, abide by a code, and whatever you do, don't die."
SAM: You know what? Bobby was right. Your head's not in it, man. When Cas died, you were wobbly, but now... DEAN: Now what? Oh, what, you're dealing with it so perfect? Yeah, news flash, pal – you're just as screwed up as I am! You're just... bigger. SAM: What?! DEAN: I don't know. SAM: Look... Dean, the thing is, tonight... It almost got you killed. Now, I don't care how you deal. I really, really don't. But just don't – don't get killed.
There's something about codes and fear, huh.
