It’s very funny to read extended lore Star Wars, canon or Legends’, because Leia and Darth Vader are both very similar, at least to deal with.
It’s like, Leia’s plans and Vader’s plans are so similar! “Okay, step one: we draw all of the fire to me. Step two: attack from the sides. Optional step three, if step two doesn’t work: jump on in again.”
The biggest difference is that Leia does not actually want to kill anybody who’s unarmed, like civilians and prisoners, while Vader has already killed the civilians and prisoners while everyone else was thinking about if they should or not. But even in that way, they are similar, if only because both of them are fucking insane and stubborn as fuck. Leia is like “If I die, I will die not killing someone, sucker. Just try to stop me.” Vader is like “On the off chance I die, I will die killing someone. Can’t believe you thought you could stop me.”
My favourite part of Star Wars is posthumously making Leia and Vader act similar. They are both stonecold and accept no criticism and it is very funny that Leia is the Anakin of the group.
Luke, over there in the corner, is the Obi-Wan of the group. He is painfully optimistic, annoyingly optimistic, he the type of person to land a crashed ship and say “another happy landing.” I don’t know how to explain this any better, Obi-Wan and Luke are twinsies, okay, in being optimistic despite the fact that there is a dagger to their throat.
Han is the Padme of the group. No explanation necessary.
I know knee-jerk reaction is to tell me I’m seeing what I want to be there, but on the other hand! Luke and Leia, especially in later comics, are portrayed very often cloaked in darkness. As in, their faces are shadowed and they don’t often step into the light, which is a clear indication that the writers are going “look! Look these are Vader’s kids! Vader’s kids! Look!” which I approve of tenfold and think we should do in all modern media-
Leia specifically though let’s her anger get the best of her rather often actually. Is the best plan really to try and take the guy (who decided to storm a heavily guarded prison and kill all of the prisoners) hostage? No! No that is not the best plan! But, he specifically says he wants Leia to kill him and that the war against the Empire will be lost if Leia had any humanity and Leia takes that as a challenge! at this point, she lets him live out of spite!
The only thing that distracts Leia from her anger is her friends being in trouble. She’s lucky she’s hanging around Luke Skywalker, honestly, or her anger would’ve taken hold of her ten chapters ago and never let her go. If Luke was a bit less of a damsel, Leia would never be distracted, it’s a symbiotic relationship-
Leia is supposed to be like Anakin. By which, I of course mean that Anakin is supposed to be like Leia. And I think they didn’t really have a choice, when it came to characterizing Anakin, but to make him more like Leia.
If they made Anakin act like Luke, Anakin would not have fallen to the Dark Side. This is for one primary reason: Luke slips and slides his way all across the galaxy except for the place where the fighting is actually actively taking place. If Anakin was like Luke, he would’ve gotten lost fifty times during the Clone Wars, inadvertently freed a LOT of people, and been late to all the events he had to witness in order to break.
He would have been late to Mustafar, okay? Obi-Wan and Padme would’ve been standing there for hours, waiting for him to show up. Then, Padme would get fed up and comm him like “Where are you, Ani? I’ve been on Mustafar-“ and he’d be like “Mustafar? Why are you on Mustafar? I’m over in Corellia. Crazy story! Palpatine told me to go murder some younglings, so I tried to do that, but I got distracted when I noticed some ducks that needed help crossing the street. But then, this big Rodian showed up and- well, long story short, the Jedi temple was empty when I got there, but I figured I should probably try and keep this gold pendant out of anyone’s hands-“ “What?” “-so after I spoke to you, I started getting ready to go to Mustafar, you know, to throw it into the lava, but my accelerator exploded and I tailspun my way out until I happened across a pirate ship-“
And it would just continue like that! Luke’s luck is either horrendous or tremendous, no matter how you look at it! That, or the Force is trying to cover his eyes because it doesn’t want its BABY to see anything BAD.
Anakin couldn’t be like Luke. The only choice was to make him more like Leia. More hot-tempered and more the type of person to walk into a firefight with little to no backup. Therefore, Anakin was made like Leia, and Leia, in return, in extraneous fiction, is made more like Anakin and I enjoy it a lot.
Also, my favourite part of the comic so far is: “How are we going to escape [the ship that we are currently destroying and that is floating in lava, Vader]?”
“By leaving the ship.”
Thank YOU, Anakin, your tactician’s brain never rests.

>Finding out your the other person<
Star Wars: Anakin Skywalker x Reader💀 I see so much smut for him, so I want to write some sad angst 😂
Warnings: Adultry, language, etc. gifs aren’t mine. All and all, just angst
Gifs not mine.
Tumblr media
A/n: I do not condone in this shit. If your a cheater or your thinking of cheating on someone your in relationship with, I hope you get stds and and scratch yourself until you bleed 💀 I simply like a good writing challenge especially considering I write happy-go-lucky shit mostly in my free time, and the whole reason I started posting on here is to post angst ridden stuff 😤
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
Anakin:
Tumblr media
You were told by none other than Obi-wan himself.
While Anakin’s relationship with Padme wasn’t something Anakin had ever explicitly told him about, (because he’s not supposed to be in one technically 💀) he was always aware of his feelings for her, and assumed his little ventures away from the temple were to see her.
So you can imagine Ben’s shock when he caught you two cuddling against a tree, a few feet away from the Jedi temple one day.
Immediately, he hopped into action… but first, he goes out of his way to make sure you aren’t aware of Padme and Anakin.
If you were, then making you leave the order wasn’t going to be as complicated as he anticipated…
However, when he finds out you aren’t aware… now he feels like he’s in an awkward position.
You were completely oblivious and blissfully ignorant to the fact you were being played by Anakin… and so was Padme.
He waits until Anakin leaves (to supposedly see Padme) before telling you he’s, aware of you and Anakin and that your position can be terminated for having a relationship especially within temple grounds…
He hopes that it’ll be enough for you to decide to approach Anakin and end things on your own note with him (because while he’s pissed at Anakin, he’s not trying to be part of this 💀)
If that fails… he just tells you.
He’ll tell you how Anakin had been with Padme since he was a Padawan, and that she’s currently pregnant with his child as they spoke.
Now, how you react ultimately determines how things play out.
Let’s say, you confront him the moment he gets back and you two are alone… immediately he’d ask you where you heard that.
If you refuse, he’ll use the force on you to read your mind or make you tell him, and he wouldn’t think twice.
When he realizes it was Obi-Wan, he chuckles (that cocky but obvious “damn I thought I was doing a good job being sneaky, let me cover my tracks” sort of chuckle) and then looks you straight in the eye and asks you why would you believe in the likes of him?
Try using the force on him like he did you, he’d immediately block it, and turn defensive. (Which if that isn’t an obvious indicator, idk what is.)
If you do tell him it was Obi-Wan, he kind of replies the same way
“Your really going to believe him? Especially when he has purposely started arguments and seems to never be satisfied by me as of recently, no matter what I do?”
This of course escalates into a full fledge argument…
Once he realizes you’ve “turned your back on him,” he’s done with you.
Immediately leaves the room and most likely the Jedi temple to go to Palpatine and the next time he sees you, he treats you ultimately like an enemy.
Now say after being told by Obi-Wan, you go out of your way to follow him instead of just confronting them… to spy on him and see if it’s true for yourself before confronting him…
That’s where he might have more of an emotional (as if him literally treating you like your in the wrong isn’t an emotional reaction, but you know what I mean 💀) reaction that’s more keen on him feeling bad.
Maybe don’t pop out like your on the Maury show when you see him and a pregnant Padme, because right off the bat, once he sees you approaching he’s angry af, he’s putting his feelings to the side (for you) and will immediately defend himself… most likely resulting in you getting severely harmed by him…
But if your watching from afar, he’ll immediately sense your presence and turn to look at you.
When he sees both the dejected and saddened look on your face, he immediately freezes up for a few seconds.
This, giving you enough time to leave before your noticed by Padme.
He won’t follow you or approach you until he’s done with his business… once he’s back at the temple, his heart is already racing with thoughts of how he should explain things to you, and how to properly break things off with you…
“I…____ I’m sorry, you had to find out that way.” He’d start, his tone coming out bitter but of course it’s not directed towards you.
Immediately he knows he’s said the wrong thing, but can’t muster up the courage to tell you it wasn’t your fault or explain why.
Because he knows any explanation he gives will be utter bullshit.
He had no reason for doing what he did… he always had Padme.
He had her, before you came in the picture.
It’s just… when he met you, you two just clicked. You understood him and his reasonings for things immediately, something that took others like Obi-Wan, and Padme a long time to do, and even then they usually didn’t agree.
And even now as he stands before you, knowing his explanations are going to sound like a load of shit, he’s still trying to find words to keep you by his side in a sense.
“It happened before we got closer with one another. Please, ____ you have to believe me, I… I love you.”
Again, option vary at this point:
If your reaction is more akin to anger, like yelling at him, shoving him, telling him you hate him, he’ll definitely be all sad looking. He’ll try to apologize before leaving you alone…
If your angry BUT… you decide to rub sand in the wound (lmao get it) by mentioning he’s disobeyed the Jedi order, and things in that nature… oh boy…
Hopefully your a good fighter, because this is definitely going to set him off.
However, even as you guys fight, he still feels bad. However when you mention things if that nature, it’ll quickly shift from regret, to feeling like he has to get rid of you.
Not just in the break up sense, but you can’t be around now that you’re aware of him and Padme.
Finally, if your reaction is just utter misery, and crying, and maybe repeating words of love and affirmations he said to you, and asking him why he’d do this… he just leaves.
He’s so ashamed. He’ll try to talk to you later though (to manipulate and ask that you don’t tell) but he feels too bad about what he’s done to immediately hurt you.
All in all, his reactions will definitely be more akin to anger, and wanting to immediately cover his tracks… he’ll work to block any thoughts and memories of you out immediately.

I don't understand why people call Anakin insensitive and casually hurtful when Obi-Wan Kenobi is right there.
It genuinely doesn't make sense to me. Anakin was a literal child slave, a small kid in a very abusive situation. While some abused children do turn out emotionally cold as a defence mechanism, it's way more common for abused children to become hyper aware of other people's emotions and turn into people pleasers as a way to keep themselves safe. Anakin spent the first nine years of his life knowing he was a piece of property, he could be sold at any moment or simply killed at a whim. Anyone could do anything they wanted to him and the only thing stopping them was that it would cost them money. Anakin learned as a child to be very perceptive of people 's emotions especially if they had power over him and how to make those people happy so they would be less likely to hurt him.
Obi-Wan during the course of the prequels showed himself to be way more insensitive and casually cruel with his words. At TPM Obi-Wan is twenty five years old, older than Anakin had been during the prequels. He called the child slave who had risked his life to help them a pathetic lifeform. No compassion and no gratitude, just complaining about the inconvenience of having to help the traumatized child who had already selflessly helped them. During the same movie he again calls Anakin dangerous and urges Qui-Gon to abandon him as the Council wants, not even bothering to make sure Anakin is out of earshot. At that point Anakin is a former child slave turned unaccompanied child refugee, separated from his only parent and thrust into an unfamiliar world.
Then let's move to the AOTC. At the very beginning of the movie Anakin clearly communicates to Obi-Wan his distress over his mother's wellbeing. He hasn't seen or had news of Shmi Skywalker for ten years, since he left her behind in a dangerous planet as somebody else's literal property. He has every cause for concern and now is getting nightmares that may be force visions of her suffering. He clearly tells Obi-Wan about it and Obi-Wan responds by telling him that the dreams will pass and to stop caring about his mother/pestering Obi-Wan about her wellbeing. Pretty darn insensitive in my opinion.
Then during the actual bodyguard part of the movie. Anakin and Padme together make a plan to lure out the assassin trying to kill her. That plan involves using Padme as bait while Anakin is on the other room using the force to sense potential threats. Obi-Wan arrives on screen, learns about it and immediately casts doubts on Anakin's ability to carry out the plan. To me that feels more like Obi-Wan doing this as a way to force Anakin back in his place because he is angry they made a plan without him. The whole point of Anakin is how incredibly powerful he is. He should absolutely be able to sense a threat literally in the other room. Moreover Obi-Wan was Anakin's primary teacher and they have already been together in a number of missions, so he should also have a very good idea about Anakin's abilities. He is just being dismissive because he feels Anakin is challenging his authority. A moment later Anakin does sense the threat in Padme's room.
Then Obi-Wan jumps out of the window to chase the droid. Anakin then acts as a model partner imo. He doesn't panic or anything. He checks Padme is safe and in no more immediate danger and then immediately finds an appropriate vehicle and runs after Obi-Wan. He catches him on time and then engages in a high speed chase with the assassin. During the entire time of the chase Obi-Wan keeps yelling at Anakin instead of just trusting him, the person who has the most experience among them in piloting and high speed chases. I am honestly surprised Anakin didn't tell him to shut up even once.
Then Anakin jumps of the speeder to catch the assassin. He does the exact same thing Obi-Wan did. I would even argue he is more successful because he does manage to disable her speeder. When Obi-Wan catches up to him he immediately scolds Anakin for doing the same thing Obi-Wan had done only five minutes ago. He specifically says:
"I swear you will be the death of me"
I know people usually take it as a light hearted joke. But in context it really is not. Obi-Wan and Anakin are Jedi and are often expected to go on dangerous missions together where they will have to depend on each other's skills to survive. It would be pretty hurtful to Anakin to be told by his teacher that raised him for ten years that Anakin's actions during a mission will cause his death. And he is pretty hurt by it, which he again tells Obi-Wan clearly:
"Don't say that Master. You are the closest thing I have to a father. I love you and I don't want to cause you pain. "
And Obi-Wan's response: "Then why won't you listen to me?"
Anakin clearly tells Obi-Wan that his words hurt him. He also tells Obi-Wan how much he means to him and that he doesn't want Obi-Wan to come to harm. Obi-Wan responds with a dismissive joke, doesn't even consider that his careless remark hurt Anakin and he should perhaps apologize. He never even addresses Anakin's confession of loving Obi-Wan as a father figure.
I don't say that Obi-Wan was a bad teacher. Anakin managed to catch up to and even surpass his peers while under Obi-Wan's tutelage, so he must have been pretty good. And they definitely had their good moments otherwise Anakin wouldn't care about him so much. And Obi-Wan is capable of compassion and kindness as evidenced when he tells Padme of her husband's fall.
But I am so angry at the fandom portraying Obi-Wan as this sensitive flower who always considers other people's feelings and is always hurt by Anakin's reckless and cruel words but never tells him and suffers in silence because he doesn't want to hurt Anakin/is afraid of Anakin's temper. Anakin was a child, a student under Obi-Wan's care for the majority of their relationship. And in the movies it's Obi-Wan who is repeatedly shown to make insensitive and hurtful remarks and then completely ignore and dismiss Anakin when he calls him out and/or expresses his hurt.

Remorse [Inqisitor!Cal Kestis x Reader]
A/N: yo amigos, I've had this in my drafts for yearsss and never got round to finishing it but I DID IT! had some random burst of Cal happiness and did it, so hopefully y'all enjoy, this was supposed to be a two parter, but like idk if I can even write it or not, so don't be expecting a 2nd part anytime soon, sorry guys! xxx
Word Count:
Tumblr media
It was a simple patrol. That's all it was supposed to be.
You watched from your own star fighter as your Master's ship was shot down. You immediately dipped down and raced after him, trying to see if you could salvage him before his fighter exploded. What you didn't realise was that the enemy was still after you and your Master. You flipped your craft around and started shooting right back at them before realising who you were shooting at.
It was your own battalion. Your own troopers. The ones you had considered brothers. Family.
They were shooting non-stop at you, you quickly commed and tried to speak to your Commander.
"Wolffe! Come in! There's something wrong with Jag!"
Silence.
That was odd. Wolffe would always respond to you.
"Commander! Come in!" You tried again.
No reply. You grunted in frustration as you tried to get Jag off your tail but it was no use. He had called in back up and you were now surrounded by several other members of your own battalion.
There was no way you were going to make it out alive.
“Y/N!”
Your head turned quickly to your comms and you heard your master’s voice call your name. It sent a huge sense of relief as you looked to the left of you and you saw him signalling you to break left. He had given you an opening to escape which in result would leave him for dead this time. You didn’t want to leave your master, but with time running short, you had no choice.
Trust in the force my young padawan.
*****
Kashyyyk
You were on the run ever since the events of Order 66 and the rise of the empire, you clutched the holocron in your hands tightly as you ran from a bunch of stormtroopers guarding a secured building for the empire. You had managed to out run them and made way to your ship, the holocron held tightly in your hands.
A bunch of thieves had stolen your holocron in hopes of selling to gain some fortune, there was no way you were letting them get their hands on your holocron. The last piece that linked you to the Jedi, it was your only hope.
Safely in your ship you activated your cloaking mechanism as you closed your eyes and opened the holocron.
“This is Master Obi Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic, have fallen with a dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi.
Trust in The Force. Do not return to the Temple…that time has passed. And our future is uncertain.
We will each be challenged. Our trust. Our faith. Our friendships. But we must persevere. And in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you, always.”
Your eyes flickered open only to see a figure stood in front of you, dressed in black from head to toe. They wore a black helmet that covered their face, and on their hip, they held a strange form of a lightsaber hilt. It was curved and almost looked as if was a double sided lightsaber. It held the form of a crescent mode; it certainly was no ordinary lightsaber. You quickly emerged from your spot and stood opposite the figure; your hand held tightly on the hilt of your own lightsaber.
“A touching message.” The figure taunted as they approached you closer, almost intrigued by your presence.
“Who are you?”
The figure let out a sigh before reaching up to remove their helmet. The first thing you saw was his bright fiery auburn hair. It was a huge contrast against his pale skin, his eyes were filled with horror and hatred as he slowly started to circle you, his eyes taunting your every move. What stuck out most was his outfit, the mark of an inquisitor. You instantly pulled out your lightsaber and ignited it.
You had heard of inquisitors, they were trained by Darth Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi and all those that practiced using the force. They were brutal and ruthless, and showed no mercy to those who were Jedi. By pulling out your lightsaber you had made a crucial mistake by revealing who you were.
"A Jedi." The man hummed as he stopped right in front of you. He reached out and placed a finger on your chin as he lifted your head to get a better look at you.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you look like the padawan of Master Plo Koon." Your eyes widen in shock as this man knew of you and your master.
"A shame what happened to him. Shot down by his own men, it wasn't even an honourable death." The man taunted.
"What do you want?" You growled as you tightly held onto your lightsaber, hands tightening around the hilt.
"If you come with me peacefully, then maybe my master will show you mercy."
"Mercy? There is no mercy where you inquisitors are! Where was the mercy as I watched my fellow Jedi brothers and sisters fall as you struck them down?" You yell back, not realising that you were falling into the exact trap he wanted. You rushed at him with your lightsaber to which he quickly ignited his own and blocked you.
"How do you think it felt as I watched the children be killed before my very eyes? All while you, stood and watched proudly!" You aimed another hit at him only to have the man fall down on his knees as you pointed your lightsaber at his throat, his weapon discarded across the room while you stood tall towering above him.
"Yes Y/N... I can feel the anger rising through you! The hatred, use it. Kill me where I lay. Avenge your fallen Jedi!" The man laughed as she watched you struggle to get a grip on yourself. In that time, his fellow inquisitors had caught up and were now stood behind you, he signalled them to stay behind.
"No.. only the weak embrace the dark... I will never!" You scream before thrusting your hands forward, pushing with all your might as you forced pushed away all three inquisitors. You quickly saw your escape and ran for it, picking up the mans lightsaber blade and making your way far away from there.
The two inquisitors that had come after Cal were ready to rush after you but with a quick shake of his head they stopped. "Let her run. She won't make it very far. I can sense the anger, the hatred rushing through her. It will only be a matter of time before we find her again."
"I will soon see you again Y/N."
*****
The voice of the ginger inquisitor rang through your head, his taunting tone, his laughter as he watched you struggle. You had made it to another one of your safety ships, the Jedi you were with had an idea to have these ships scattered across Kashyyyk. You slumped down in the cockpit, your heart racing as you held his lightsaber in your hands.
All of a sudden you were pulled back, a searing white blur flashed across your eyes as you blinked rapidly to clear it. It was only then you had realised where you were.
The Jedi Temple.
Or what it was before the war. Before the empire rose to success.
You glanced around watching the padawan rush around the temple, thier masters following swiftly behind, ready for training.
"Y/N."
You turned around on the spot at the voice of your own Master. You remembered this day Master Plo was ready to take you on your first mission. The younger version of yourself stood there ready for it as your master lead you to your Commander.
Wolffe.
You held in a sob at the sight of him. You had no idea where he was. If he was alive or dead. All of a sudden you were pulled out of your own memory and into another as you watched from the top.
A young boy, not much older than you were when you went on your first mission. He was training with his Master in the Jedi rooms. You looked over to his Master and instantly recognised him.
Jaro Topal.
How could you not? The guy was a legend, a Lasat. One of first Lasats you had ever seen before. You looked over to the young boy and studied him carefully. You didn't recognise him at first until the lights came on and you saw his face.
The inquisitor. The very same one who taunted you. Who tried to kill you.
What was he doing training with Master Topal? Unless...
No. It couldn't be.
"Cal. Concentrate, use the force."
He was a Jedi. A Jedi that betrayed the order, that succumbed to the dark side. He failed.
You dropped the weapon before falling to ground, eyes teary and wet, full of regret for your fallen friends and Master. Wolffe. The former Jedi, Cal.
*****
You had found an imperial building that was holding Wookies hostage and you had to help them. The wookies were friends of yours and you couldn't allow them to suffer under the hands of the empire. Your mission finished off with a bang, you and the wookies had blown up the building, crushing it into pieces so that whatever the Empire was working on was destroyed.
Just as you were leaving the building, you felt a strong presence, a dark presence. Being the curious person you were, you signalled the wookies to go ahead while you checked something out. You crept around the side of the fallen building only to find a hidden compartment where you saw 3 inquisitors.
You had recognised all 3 of them, they were the ones that had ambushed you in your ship, one of them was the former jedi, the traitor Cal. You leapt up and hid behind one of the broken columns, listening to thier conversation.
"We have been instructed to find the holocron. What are you doing here?" One of the inquisitors hissed at the fallen jedi.
Holocron? Why are they looking for a holocron? You couldn't let the holocron get into the hands of Empire. God knows what they could do with it, the force sensitive children would be used for their means and you could never let that happen.
"I have business to attend to. I'll be on my way." The ginger inquisitor replied as he played with a droid on the side of a table.
The two inquisitors hissed before they left. You waited until they left before getting ready to make your own way out and back to base.
"You have something of mine Y/N."
You stopped dead in your position, your heart beating rapidly. You instantly moved your hand to your lightsaber clipped on your belt as you slowly got up.
"I would like it back."
All of a sudden he was behind you, his hand on your own that was holding the lightsaber. His grip was surprisingly soft, it wasn't harsh or rough which surprised you.
"Please."
You twisted our of his grip before replying. "What? The Empire can't afford to get you another one, inquisitor?"
"Cal." Your eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"My name, it's Cal. But you already knew that."  He says as he points to his lightsaber clipped at the back of your belt.
"How could you betray the Jedi Order?"
"I was left with other choice but to join. I have seen the future and there is no Jedi Order."
"Y/N, join me while you can."
Cal held his hand out. You glanced it at it quickly, looking at his face for any sign that this was a joke, but alas you found none. You rolled your eyes before stepping back and pulling your lightsaber out.
"Never."
"So be it." Cal slowly pulled his hand away before using the force to pull you towards him. You landed in his arms as you lightsaber dropped and your hands holding onto his arm for support before you quickly pulled away. Cal on the other hand had managed to unclip his lightsaber from your belt. He quickly used the force and pushed you to the ground, holding his lightsaber at your throat, the tip of it barely inches away from slaughtering you to death.
Cal was silent for a while. His eyes flickered around before focusing on your face once more. “I’ll give you one more chance Y/N. I have seen the future, there are no more Jedi. Join us. Join me.”
“You don’t take no for an answer, do you?” You spoke, getting annoyed with Cal's back and forth persona with you. Before you could attack him, you felt something coming. A sense of danger approaching, you stole a glance at Cal before you locked eyes, ready to run from whatever was coming.
His own eyes widened in shock as he channelled through force to identify what about to happen. Hands reached out to push you towards what ever it was, only it never came.
"Y/N!"
Within seconds, Cal had rushed forwards and pushed you aside, his own body collapsing on top of you, ultimately protecting you from the huge crash. The two of you groaned as you fell to the ground, the weight of Cal weighing down on you as you tried to sidle out from under him. His eyes were closed but his arms were wrapped around you tightly, his body seemingly taking the brunt of the drop.
“Where is she? The Wookies told us she would be here!”
“Shit...” You groaned, you were stuck, the both of you were stuck. The sounds of the troopers approaching was near, they were probably going to find you and the inquisitor and assume you had killed him. But why had he saved you? What was his plan?
Thoughts ran through your head, going millions miles an hour but one remained, you had failed your master.
"I'm sorry Master Plo."
The last thing you felt was the weight of a body being lifted off you before you succumbed to the darkness clouding your vision and mind.

DUde. Drop some rexwalker headcanons 😏
Hell yeah, let's go! Izzy's Rexwalker headcanons!
Anakin was a completely oblivious moron for longer than is reasonable. Everyone else knew about Rex's crush. Ahsoka figured it out within a month. Obi-Wan figured it out almost immediately and he spends less time with Rex than Anakin does.
Rex is aware that Anakin is a moron (and a genius) and at that point he sort of just accepted that he might just be the biggest clown for having this massive crush
It's not that it wasn't mutual pining, Anakin just didn't realize how he felt for a hot year minute
Definitely a battlefield confession of romcom proportions. Anakin took a battle droid head to his head about 5 seconds after and got a concussion
Rex is the big spoon because Anakin didn't think he could be the little spoon and Rex was determined to prove him wrong
I know I'm kinda known for my kinky smut but they give me huge vanilla sweetheart vibes. Spicing it up in the bedroom is doing it doggy style.
Well, except when Anakin is in power-bottom mode.
And when Anakin uses the Force during sex
Okay so maybe they're not 100% vanilla. They were both basically virgins when they got together (because Anakin sticking his dick in Padme a few times didn't prepare him for sex with a man) so they were figuring things out for a long time. They're 70% vanilla.
They switch 😤
I know they basically eat rations but if there was an opportunity they'd definitely be the couple where Anakin eats Rex's pickles for him
Rex is very aware that Anakin thinks it's hot when Rex manhandles him. Anakin is tall and lanky and generally kinda wiley so he's not used to it and most people don't try. Rex just takes it as a challenge that he's going to win
He doesn't always win. Anakin lets him because he's into it.
Honestly getting wrestled to the ground with Anakin's thighs around his head in hand-to-hand combat sparring is Rex's happy place and everyone knows it. And teases him about it.
Anakin tried to help Rex bleach his hair but it turned out orange and now he's not allowed to help
Anakin barely let Rex out of his sight after Umbara for a month. They didn't talk about it for even longer because Rex didn't want to talk and Anakin felt guilty for leaving and didn't want to address it.
They did talk eventually. It was cathartic.
They are very in tune with each other on the battlefield.
Rex is aware Obi-Wan is Anakin's best friend and is not above using him to make sure Anakin takes care of himself better as his Master / Superior Officer but that's only in the direst of circumstances for the most part he and Anakin are thick as thieves
Rex is also not above getting Ahsoka to bully Anakin into doing things and will gang up on him with Ahsoka because Ahsoka is his best friend and sometimes your boyfriend is wrong
Rex sees the best in Anakin, probably to a fault
Rex is one of the few people Anakin trusts implicitly
I'm sure there are more headcanons I have but that's off the top of my head. Thanks for the ask, nonny, it was really fun!

Let Me Count the Ways ask game
I'm down to my last couple of requests, so I think it's time to send this out again. I've crossed out the prompts I've already written or am in the process of writing.
"I missed you."
"You're my idiot."
"You're not a burden."
"I trust you with my life."
"I love you. Yeah, for real."
"I'll never give up on you."
"I can't imagine how I lived without you. I mean, I can remember it, but I can't imagine how I considered that living."
"I've got you."
"Don't EVER scare me like that again!"
"I thought I lost you…"
"How could you do this to me?"
"I know this may be hard to believe, but I'm on your side."
"Of course we're best friends. No one else would put up with your shenanigans."
"Do you trust me?"
"What? I meant it as a compliment."
"I can't do this anymore."
"Are you just going to keep walking by my house or are you going to come in?"
"Dude. It's three in the morning."
"Where are your clothes?"
"I can't believe I'm telling you this."
"I should have told you this a long time ago."
"Why are you helping me?"
"I feel like we've met before…."
"No, I don't care what 'they' think."
"Can't believe this drive is going to take 10 hours…. You wanna play I Spy or License Plate Poker?"
"I'm still mad at you. A broken elevator won't change that. Get away from me. That's YOUR side."
"Leave you? You know how hard it was for me to TRAIN YOU to deal with me?"
"Why does my blanket smell like you?"
"It's not my fault."
"Trust me."
"I wish…"
"Forgive me."
"Thank you."
"I'll keep you safe."
"Why did you do it?"
"Where are we going?"
"Now what?"
"Stay with me for a while."
"Did you really do that?"
"I love you. You know that, right?"
"I have no idea what just happened."
"What are friends for?"
"Please don't be mad."
"You're not wrong."
"I never told you, but…"
"Stop! Can we think this through?"
"Whatever happens, don't forget."
"We should eat something."
"I haven't slept in days."
"I know that face."
Note: I'm only going to write for platonic relationships. There's plenty of great romances out there, but I want to focus on friendships and familial relationships. Even if you send in one of my OTPs, I'm going to write them platonically. Also, I'm perfectly happy to write about my usual blorbos, but I think it would be a fun challenge to try to write characters I wouldn't normally go for. Check out my main blog @novelmonger for my main fandoms, or go ahead and send in some characters to see if I know them. I'd love to fill all of these prompts, so feel free to send me LOTS :D
Non-exhaustive list of duos I'd like to write:
Ed and Al (FMA)
Ed and Mustang (FMA)
Steve and Bucky (MCU)
Steve and Sam (MCU)
Sam and Bucky (MCU)
Frodo and Sam (LotR)
Legolas and Gimli (LotR)

Fic Tag Game
Thank you so much for tagging me, @starwalkertales
How many works do you have on ao3?
30… I'm quite proud of the fact that I've made so many, and 29 of them in just 2½ years (granted, most of them are quite short, but there are a few longer ones in between)
2. What's your Ao3 word count?
272,066… Holy Force, according to a quick google search, that equates to about 3 average novels, damn.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Star Wars, mostly the prequel trilogy. I have two “older” Yu-Gi-Oh fics.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. Rain with 298 kudos. This is actually my newest story and in just a week after I posted it, it had overtaken all my other works (I guess people like it). It's cute fluffy and smutty obikin, where our boys get stranded and given a small but much-needed holiday.
2. ‘Com’Passion with 280 kudos. I can't hide the fact that my guilty pleasure is threesomes. This one is smut with a lot of emotion, involving two experienced masters (Mace and Obi-Wan) taking Anakin to their bed after he walks in on them.
3. Nanika the daughter of the Force with 279 kudos. This fic, where Anakin is sent back in time as a woman, is my baby and biggest challenge.
4. Hearts' desires with 263 kudos. Sweet, smutty obikin with too much plot, featuring Anakin and Obi-Wan's first time together.
5. All I want for Christmas with 211 kudos. This is last year's tooth-rottingly cute and fluffy Christmas fic, where Obi-Wan returns home and realizes he can't escape Anakin and Padmé's love.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Always! (It can sometimes take a few days if RL is demanding my attention) Commenting is the lifeblood of fandom, and it's through commenting that I've found many of my friends here.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Um, I have a few that could compete for that title... but I'd have to say Fallen, it's short, ambiguous and it hurts so much. I have others equally angsty, my very first SW fic In The End is also very angsty.
7. What's the fic your write with the happiest ending?
All I want for Christmas, it is just SO happy that it is nauseating (I got fluff poisoning writing it)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, and I'm very grateful for that. I have a few people asking if I'm going to continue with Nanika soon... I will, promise!
9. Do you write smut? What kind?
Yes, I do... I don't know if it's a specific type... but it's not very kinky (I love reading all kinds of smut, I'm just not brave enough to write it yet)
10. Do you write cross-overs?
I have a few faint bunnies in deep freeze, but they're not very detailed and most likely won't be written… so no, but never say never.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nop, but I'm considering translating back one of my own stories at some point, just for the fun of it.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
I have. I wrote The Jedi and the darksider together with my sweet heart Zolita. It was an inspiring and challenging experience to write Melany and Zaya's story.
14. What's your all time favourite ship?
Obikin (I can't deny it), BUT they are not my only love, and I will happily let them take a third to bed with them at any given opportunity.
15. What's your WIP you like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Pirates of the Galaxy, and it is a damn shame!
16. What are your writing strength?
I've been told that I'm good at writing atmosphere, and admittedly, it's one of my favorite things to write, so it's not really surprising. Haunt me for a year is testament to that.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue... I struggle with it every single time, but I'm stubborn and will keep practicing so that maybe one day I'll feel like I've gotten good at it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?Probably not dialogue, but I'm toying with the idea of writing spells in other languages, preferably old Sith, there's just not much known Sith language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Yu-Gi-Oh, back in 2016 before I stumbled into the SW fandom and got lost in the galaxy far far away.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I love them all, they all have a very special place in my heart and it is almost impossible to chose, but I will say Tave Jen’drajuna; the dark family is just… it is me.
I want to ad a bonus question.
21. What fic would you want to rewrite one day.
My very first long fic Light and darkness. I still love the idea of vampire Sith Anakin, but I was so inexperienced when I wrote it and even though I adore the story the writing could be better.
I will tag anyone who wants to do this, and also @fleetstreetfatality @prahacat @barmadumet @demon----dean @tideswept @briliantlymad @fangeek-girl @dark--whisperings @lilredghost and @knightjane if you have already been tagged or have answered, please just ignore me, and of course there is no pressure.

Fics I'd want to write but already have too many WIPs to even contemplate adding more to the fucking folder (posting concepts in the hopes they stop haunting me from underneath the floorboards), mostly crossovers:
Fix-it that's just Jedi reading children's books to smol Anakin. It starts when some kind and wise soul lends Obi-Wan The Snow Cat to help him and Anakin talk about grief in the wake of Qui-Gon's death. They help him explore his relationship to prophecy/destiny via The Paper Bag Princess. Room on the Broom to challenge win-lose thinking. Etc. As an adult, he asks Obi-Wan to reread The Velveteen Rabbit with him if he ever gets self-conscious after losing his arm and then we all cry.
Anakin gets therapy but it's inspired by Poe's The Premature Burial, like, they carefully and repeatedly and with plenty of emotional support etc expose him to a simulated reality in which he experiences losing everyone he loves but structured in such a way as to reduce the fear of it rather than make it more frightening, and Anakin thinks his prophecy nightmares of Obi-Wan dying are just (a very ineffective and unpleasant) part of the therapy until he complains and somebody on his care team goes "Wait, what?" which leads to Sidious getting discovered.
The Happy Man's Shirt but make it Vaderwan. Emperor Vader just wants to keep Luke from dying of melancholy, but now he's reluctantly learned a life lesson from a shirtless Obi-Wan and it's making him rethink this whole Sith Empire thing. I'm insane and there's something wrong with me.
Crossover with Were The World Mine (movie). Same age AU with Anakin as Timothy and Obi-Wan in a similar ish role to Jonathan (yes I know Obi-Wan isn't a jock but hear me out), Ahsoka as Frankie and Rex as Max, utter fucking chaos, what Timothy does with the flower is already such an Anakin move tbh
Shakespeare's Tempest but make it Vaderwan, with Vader turning away from the dark side being like Prospero breaking his staff. All about Letting Go(tm). Darth Vader redemption but with so much Force philosophy you'll want to stuff a sock in my mouth.
Crossover w/ The Last Unicorn. Sidious or Dooku as King Haggard, Anakin and Obi-Wan as Molly Grue and Schmendrick or alternatively as Amalthea & Prince Lir, Maul as the Red Bull, honestly *slaps roof* this baby can fit so many reinterpretations/explorations of all our favourite themes in it
Crossover with Celia S. Friedman's Coldfire Trilogy (When True Night Falls, Black Sun Rising, and Crown of Shadows). Listen, are you someone who ever thought it's hypocritical of Christians not to pray for/forgive/empathize with the Devil? Would you go nuts if a fantasy-brand priest homoerotically did exactly that? Okay now what if Anakin was the fantasy-brand Devil (eldritch af) and Obi-Wan risked his own beliefs/moral purity/etc for him, and they were magically connected and intextricably linked, all while the rough equivalent of the Force on their planet was trying to kill them and/or trying to communicate with them (it's complicated)?
Sailor Moon but make it obikin, because we all want to see the horror of Artoo doing Luna's job lmfao.
Crossover with Steph Swainston's Fourlands series (The Year of Our War, No Present Like Time, The Modern World etc). This one would have everything. Obikin with anidala parallels, Anakin making morally objectionable choices, horrifying combat scenes, Star Wars galactic politics meets the weirdest worldbuilding you've ever seen, blasphemy and sacrilege, needless theatrics in the midst of apocalyptic threats, wingfic tropes, idek how else to describe it but we are so missing out.
I'm sure more of these are gonna come smack me upside the head at some point but luckily for all of us I'm only haunted by things I read/watched 5+ years ago and eventually we'll run out of those.

The Saber & The Last Jedi
Continuing my post about Luke on the Island, I think I want to focus in on how I would have handled that weighty piece of symbolism.
It's a common talking point among the chuds that Luke tossing the saber was "disrespectful" to starwars fans, and while I think most of them are idiots, I think I'd change how that note was played.
Like a lot of fans of the 1.5 good movies in the sequel trilogy, I was really disappointed that Rey didn't get her own saber (or any actual jedi training but that's for another post) until post the resolution.
Fallen Order is by far my favourite piece of starwars media ever, so I'm infinity biased towards meaningful character growth as expressed through laser sword construction.
So here's my Pitch:
Have Luke drop the saber after Rey hands it to him. Holding it with reverence for but a moment before it slips from his hands. Play the following moment for laughs, sure, as a shocked Rey races after the priceless heirloom down all those stone steps she just spent an hour walking up before it tumbles into the sea (have her make that adorable panic/confounded scrunchy face) but then we turn the camera back to Luke and we see our lost hero is awash in utmost sorrow. For Rey the saber symbolizes hope, heroism, king arthur style YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE shit. Her job was to get it back to him, a nobody playing errand girl for a legend. For Luke, that sword is a representation of all his failures. His failure to live up to the legacy of the Jedi, his initial failure to defeat Vader, his later failure to stop Kylo, his failure to protect the galaxy since. That saber is HEAVY, and he cannot carry that weight.
The Saber is going to be the central motif around which this mentor student relationship is going to be formed. It's a passing of the torch, but not in the heavy handed IP servicing manner of Rey taking on the skywalker name. We're going to go back to the roots of Starwars as a Samurai story, As a martial arts story, and we're going to do it using the themes that episode 7 established god damn it.
Quick recap of my headcanons and a few things you need to know:
Forces awakens is centrally ABOUT the legacy of Starwars. There's nostalgia and fan service, yes, but it also has a lot to say ABOUT nostalgia. That's why our main villain is a Darth Vader fanboy who's at the head of an army of Neonazis, none of which are happy that all these... other people hold any power in the galaxy
In my own telling of events, Luke went to the island not to give up, but in an attempt to reconnect with the force after Kylo defeated him and severed his connection. His isolation started as an attempt to become the hero the galaxy needed him to be again, and he's all but lost hope.
Rey asks Luke to come back and join the fight, Luke says he can't, he's not ready. Delightful bickering ensues with Rey being flabbergasted that the hero she's been inspired by since childhood would sit by let things in the galaxy get worse (hey there new fans, this remind you of anything?). Luke, now a crabby old man, gets to use all of Mark Hamil's genius comedic delivery.
Eventually we're led to a scenic overlook/meditation circle and Luke Challenges Rey to reach out and feel the island. It's a holy place, suffused with the force, and here we get to see a bit of what Luke must have been like as a teacher, calmly guiding her through the opening of her force-sense the way that Obi-wan taught him.
Luke, serious: "Can you feel it... can you FEEL it? Racing through everything, Binding everything together? " Rey, awed: " Yes... I think...I Yes I.." Luke, deadpan " .....because I can't"
More Shocked Rey, more bickering, Luke's getting more resentful, it's like the galaxy threw this girl in his face to remind him of everything he failed at (it did, he just hasn't realized what that MEANS yet). Luke puts his foot down and tells her to go home, he'll come back when the force has spoken to him and told him how to fix all this.
Rey almost considers it... she takes a step down the trail while Luke moves to return to his hermitage, there's a pause.
R, hesitant, turning something over in her mind, knows Luke is carrying so many burdens and she's about to add more: "You really can't feel the force anymore?" L, irritated, barely paying her any more attention: no R, turning to face him: Then you wouldn't know.... Han Solo, he's dead.
Luke, looks at her, all his sourness melting away but it's different than when he held the sword. This isn't the old Jedi master feeling the weight of his burden, this is Luke Skywalker, the boy who risked everything to save his best friends, learning that one of those friends has died and he didn't even know. Twenty years on a rock trying to find an answer to save his friends and he's STILL failing them. He crumples, Rey rushes to pick him up she's all apologies she barely understands. She was there she saw it happen, she let it happen, she FELT it happen
L, talking over her, grabbing onto her robes and arms to PULL himself up and look at her face to face, there is a FIRE in his eyes now, This is Anakin's son. : "Come inside, Tell me Everything"
There's a few more beats I want to hit but I'm not sure about the exact order.
Luke Reunite with Chewie and R2
Evening's fallen and Luke comes to share Rey's fire as she looks out over the sea. A shared sorrow has bridged the gap between them a little. Luke insists that he can't come back, Rey protests, but he interjects that he can still do good. He's willing to teach her. She felt the island so she must have some talent. Rey is blindsided, she honoured by the prospect but she thought she was just bringing Luke back, she doesn't have time to train, she has to get back to her friends, the resistance, the fight against the first order. Can't he come back with her? Luke clues her in that the force brought them both here, to this place, it's special, it's their chance to rebuild the Jedi the right way.
Something something subspace beacon signalling back to their friends that they're alright. Gives us a chance to cut away to the B story for a while.
Rey's training is going spottily. she's got an instinctive connection with the force, bolstered by the island, but she's chafing against the Jedi temple approved curriculum that Luke salvaged from his first school/the empire's archives. She already KNOWS how to fight, but she's trained with a staff, so when they're using training swords she keeps attacking form a further reach or grabbing what would be the lightsaber's blade. Luke chides her about burning off her hand (he's got a metal one)
After a particular frustrating lesson they get into Rey's preconceived notions of what the Jedi were like ( more accurately, what LUKE was like, because that's her one touch stone) and how when she was left alone on Jakku she would imagine all these things. T, and then a pause about Rey being left alone, a comedic and decisive " I'm NOT your father" from Luke, followed up with " One thing I've learned, you don't need to be from somewhere to be special. The force doesn't care, and its better that way" . This leads them to commiserating about how AWFUL their respective desert planets were. We see that they're growing closer.
Also a chance for Luke to hint about his personal life, he was close to a few people over the years ( Wiggle room for every shipper in the galaxy), but between dismantling the empire and founding the new Jedi he never had time to start a family, there was always something else ( here we see how much being "the hero" has taken from him.)
End of the movie's coming up, it's been something like a month or two. Rey's weathered and calloused but she's in the best fighting shape she's ever been. She's got pretty good with the lightsaber but it's slow going. Luke's really gotten back into teaching, Rey help inspired hope in him, but now he's putting the weight of heroism onto her shoulders, hoping that she can correct HIS failures, the way Obi-wan did with him. R2 has been waging war against the porgs infesting the falcon, Chewie has himself a cozy little fishing hut by the shoreline and is fully on vacation by this point.
Rey fails yet another Jedi test, both she and Luke are frustrated. Our friends have recovered important information in the B plot and Rey knows that if she doesn't rejoin them soon she's effectively going to miss out on the next movie. A forboding storm thunders on the horizon, Luke catches Rey looking at it and cautions " You're not ready for that" , idly rubbing the place where he lost his hand. Rey questions whether she'll ever be ready. She's not him, she's not a Jedi, she's Rey from knowhere and however lucky she's been up to this point she was never MEANT to be here. It SHOULD be him. Luke feels shame again, and ends the lesson, tells her to get ready for supper. Rey eyes a nearby boat.
Cut ahead, Chewie's got a weird but delicious alien fish ready to eat and the rain is baring down outside. Asks where Rey is and we have a bit of fun with the puppets, before he looks outside the window and centers our view of a section of jagged rock barely cresting out of the waves, far from the island.
Rey's paddled out to this crumbling stone edifice and is doing saber katas on the stones in the middle of the storm. It's clear that she's done this before but never in such harsh weather. She slips, makes mistakes, but keeps on with it. Her form is approaching the super elaborate flourishes of the prequel era. The thunder rumbles and lighting strikes one of the rocks nearby her, causing it to crumble. She refocuses on the storm. The rumble reminds her of the earth splitting open back at starkiller base, jumping between rocks reminds her of her fight with Kylo. She goes through it again, harder, trying to make up for inexperience with effort. The wind howls worse and thunder rumbles again, Rey leaps in the air and DEFLECTS LIGHTING WITH HER SWORD, causing the bolt to streak off and cause an explosion in the water. Then another, then another, She HAS THIS, mostly.
Out of the depths comes a giant predatory eel monster, drawn by the explosions and looking for a snack. She could probably take it if they were on a level playing field, but she's on a very un-level series of rock pillars and is going to have to fight both the monster AND the weather.
The fight is tense, jumping between rocks, dodging waves and lighting bolts and razor teeth, slipping and falling into the water, barely managing to scramble out. Just when she's ready to land a killing blow the beast thrashes, getting hold of her leg in its jaw and CRUNCHES, shredding muscle and bone before throwing her aside to brutally impact a stone pillar and sending the saber out into the ocean. Ray, desperate, knowing the creature is closing in reaches out for her weapon with the force just like she did at the end of the last film.. and just like last time it comes ripping through the air, only to be struck by lightning in the middle of its arc. Shock sets in, she tries to get up and it becomes very evident that she's both badly injured and has broken atleast one of her legs. Disbelief surges through her, shame, failure. Getting the shit kicked out of her might not be worse that DESTROYING LUKE SKYWALKER'S LIGHTSABER.
The beast rises, ready to devour her. Rey's hurt it and there's more malice than hunger in its eyes at this point. The thunder rumbles again, and there's a flash... and the familiar sound of the Millennium Falcon's guns firing cuts through the sound of the storm as it lands a direct hit on the monster.
Cut to Luke Skywalker in the GUNNER SEAT . He's left the island and in a moment of desperation he's remembered that he was still a hero LONG before he became a Jedi Master. Force or no force he's still that idiot farmboy who heard the call of someone in trouble and left everything behind to save them. With Chewie at the helm The Falcon does a strafing run through the storm to scare the eel away before lowering down its platform to get Rey back up. Cut to a shot of Luke on the platform bathed in light which is shining down on Rey, his hand outstretched to her this time, the hero she heard about as a kid. The Force has delivered the answer he sought.
It's the next day, the storm has parted and the clouds are picking up the colours of sunrise. Rey's bandaged as best they can, wrapped in a blanket, Luke's changed out of his hermit robes and into something nice... ish. They look out over the water and once the niceties are out of the way, Luke Mentions that they're getting ready to leave.
Rey is shocked, she's not ready, she wasn't ready for the lighting stones so she won't ever be ready, she's never going to be a Jedi.
Luke agrees, but maybe that's not such a bad thing. Like him the Jedi lost sight of the people for the sake of an ideal, and trying to stick to that ideal is what kept him on this island while the galaxy descended into war yet again. It was the same dogmatism that let his father sip down the darkside and doomed the old republic. Doomed them. In trying to recreate their ways he was losing sight of the people again, lost sight of his nephew.
He will be the last Jedi, but she's going to be something else, something better, and he's going to Be there for her the way he wishes his mentors could have been there for him.
The sun's risen while they were talking, Chewie roars, R2 beeps, It's time to get going. Luke says he's all packed and pats the holster containing the Jedi texts he collected, but asks her if there's anything she's forgetting.
Rey's puzzled, before Luke nods to the sea.
R: " But It's... I lost it, it's gone" L: "Nothing's ever gone, It just... changes, and everything has to change sometime."
Rey holds her hand out to the ocean, tentatively, she pulls, but her force falters, her faith wavers. Luke's hand settles over hers. He still hasn't gotten his powers back, but together they pull and the broken pieces of his lightsaber come up from the water, glistening, dawn playing in the kyber crystal.
The Gang takes off in the Falcon, off into what we realize is a binary sunrise, it's a long hyperspace Journey back to the Resistance. Interspersed we see Rey tinkering on something, putting that scavenger knowhow to use. The Falcon Lands, we have a wordness reunion between our friends. Luke and Leia, Rey, Finn, Poe, and Rose (looking a little worse for wear after their adventures). Everyone is crowding around Luke, but we see Rey being helped into a high tech cast, which allows her to stand on her injured leg Without needing to use her staff, like she has been since disembarking. Standing proudly as she can, and mostly to show off to her friends, flips a newly installed switch midway down the haft, causing the upper end to ignite in a flickering blade, the Pieces of Luke's old saber incorperated into its design. It's not like any lightsaber that's come before it, but it's hers. The shot pans out as she realizes that more and more eyes are turning to her, Luke having silently directed all the attention that was on him to her, his apprentice.
The torch has been passed, and we have a new hero.

"We're Not Promised Tomorrow." Chapter 20 "...How Do I Say I'm Sorry?"
Tumblr media
Pairing: Obi-Wan x Fem. OC
W/C: 5.2 K
Warnings: lots of angst, injuries, fighting, high emotions, blood, panic, stress.
A/N: Happy New Year everyone. I hope the holidays were good to you all and if you do not celebrate then I hope the season was filled with lots of joy, laughter, and good vibes. The angst train continues in the chapter but this is its last stop (for now evil smile) after this chapter, the fit will turn a coroner into one of my favorite parts of this whole fic. If you have made it this far, I appreciate you sticking with it. Thank you all for any support that you give and happy reading.
Masterlist can be found here.
--------------------
Emily had cleaned her whole apartment, sterilized everything, and had thrown away Obi-Wan's torn and bloody tunic.
She placed his boots next to her tea table, folded his pants, belt and gathered his lightsaber, placing them on one of the sitting chairs in her living room
It was late; by her recollection, it had to have been at least a half hour after midnight. She was exhausted and emotionally drained. The dull throb in her head seemed to match the pain in her soul.
The 7 P.M sparring session felt like it was a lifetime ago but it had been only hours since the incident.
She had checked on Obi and he was sleeping soundly. He didn’t have a fever anymore and she had used the Force to again assess his injuries. His nose was almost completely healed and his insides were improving. Thank the Maker for Bacta.
Emily had changed her clothes when she had stopped by her room. She changed into her clean black sparring pants and a white short-sleeved top and laid down on the couch in the darkness of her apartment; the only light that came in came from the floor-to-ceiling windows that brought the chaotic, outside world of Coruscant inside in her sanctuary.
The fight that happened earlier in the evening seemed like forever ago...but the ache in her heart was as strong as it was the minute Sorv had entered the Arena and challenged Obi. Rolling over, she buried her face in the pillow and pulled her blanket up over her head, creating a cocoon of safety. She wanted to kick down the door of her bedroom and run to him. To throw her arms around him and break down all over again. To be completely vulnerable with her person was something she needed right now, even if she was royally pissed at her person.
She was so happy that he was alive and going to be okay. Yet, She also wanted to scream at him and tell him what an inconsiderate jerk he had been. Additionally, he acted like a complete macho, overprotective, stubborn male peacock who needed to strut his stuff to prove a point.
Attempting to sort through her emotions and control them (like a good Jedi) she allowed her mind to wander as she rolled back over and stared at the scenery outside of her wall of glass. The lights twinkled on the buildings and spreaders raced in all directions; it was truly the planet that never slept.
“Maybe he was right. Maybe Jedi aren’t supposed to have personal relationships. It’s not like we have training with how to handle ourselves with our own emotions....let alone other people's emotions.”
She drifted off to sleep as her stomach twisted itself in knots.
----------------
Emily could feel distress around her. It was bearing down on her as if it was trying to suffocate and swallow her. She had become hot and sweating. Restless from tossing and turning, as if she was trying to fight whatever was bearing down on her; It was as if her body was trying to burn itself from the inside out.
The feeling of sweating and burning woke her up, causing her to sit upright and gasping for air, fighting the suffocation.  For as hot as she had been in the dream, when she woke up, the apartment air was cool and the mood peaceful. Assessing herself, she wasn’t even warm or that sweaty... nothing like what she felt while asleep. She looked around confused.
Her t-shirt and pants were dry, with no sweat or liquid present.
She extended herself through the Force, still confused. Had it just been a dream or a vision?
No, the source of heat and stress was coming from the apartment; that was shown to her through the Force. She could feel the pull of heat and an oppressive weight centering around her.
She tried to follow its weight to the source, her eyes darting around her quiet apartment. When her eyes landed on her bedroom door, it felt as if her head were on fire.
“OBI-WAN!” She gasped in a panic.
She vaulted off the couch and sprinted the short distance into her room, practically breaking the door open with the speed and weight she hit it with.
She burst into the doorway and found him in a pool of sweat and fidgeting in his sleep.
“No, no, no, no, no, I thought we were past this!” She hissed as she ran to him and ripped the covers off of him.
Turning, she ran out of the room to her refresher and grabbed two big towels and a small one. She turned on the faucets and soaked them in cold water. Emily ran back to her and placed the cold towels along his body.
She laid the compress on his forehead, dabbing at the sweat, and then sprinted to the galley-style kitchen to grab some ice and more towels.
Making two makeshift ice packs, she placed one on top of the forehead compress and the other by his side, the two main sources of heat.
She was already tired and worn out and didn’t know how much use she was going to be so the ice and cold compresses would help her bring down his fever naturally, buying her more time and wiggle room.
Kneeling, she placed her hands on his chest and stomach and started commanding the Force to flow through her.
She visualized everything she loved about him. His smile, those amazing blue eyes that gleamed like the oceans on Naboo, his wit and his corny jokes...how he was always a gentleman; usually so full of care, love and gentleness. The way he silently cared so much about his friends. What a great Jedi he was; centered, balanced, and brave.
Oh, how much she loved him; If love was tangible. She visualized the fever being cooled from his body, visualized her mending his muscles and tissue, healing him.
She had sat there and commanded continuous use of the Force for hours and hours. She would not give up on him despite how she felt about him at the moment. She had loved him her whole life, she would die trying to save him if she had to.
Emily felt like she was losing her grasp on reality. She had never healed someone for this extended amount of time. She was becoming woozy and she felt like her energy was draining itself from her body.
She was unaware of his state as her head slumped forward and she passed out.
The sunlight was coming through the blinds as it peaked into the bedroom apartment.
Emily had passed out on the floor, her head still resting on the side of the bed, hands still on his stomach and chest. The cold, wet towels had pruned her skin and made her shiver.
There was a faint beeping noise that was bothering her, causing her to wake up.
It wasn’t coming from the bedroom, it sounded from somewhere else in the apartment.
She was too tired to move. Maybe if she ignored it would stop? Then she could just go back to sleep.
After two minutes of continuous buzzing and beeping she begrudgingly got up and stumbled into her living room.
The sound was coming from Obi-Wan’s pants.
She sleepily fumbled with them until she found a comlink in his pants pocket.
“Master Kenobi’s Comlink.” She said groggily.
“Who is this?” The voice on the other end sounded.... hostile... accusing and even a bit...stunned... as if they weren’t expecting her to answer; which in fairness to them, they weren't.
Their tone caused her to become more alert.
“Who is this? You called this line?” She didn’t want to give anything away that she didn’t have to.
“This is Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, his mission partner... Now I ask again, who are you?”
She relaxed.
“Hi Anakin, sorry for the guessing games, it’s Master Marblu.”
There was a pause; he didn’t answer right away.
“Hi, Emily.” He sounded lighter, more smug sounding. She pictured that stupid, self-satisfied smile she was probably wearing.
“Is Obi-Wan there? He was supposed to meet us at the hangar for a mission this morning, and he’s late….very late. Considering he's never late for anything, I knew something had to be up.”
Someone was giggling in the background…Emily listened harder...yes it was definitely a girl giggling.
“I don’t think he’s gonna make it to the mission today, Anakin. He was in an accident last night in the Arena. We were sparring and he did something stupid and he’s pretty injured. He’s sleeping right now and he couldn’t move if he wanted to.”
“Is he alright?!” Anakin's tone had changed quickly from amusement to worry.
“He is fine now. He was worse last night. Like I said, he’s sleeping and his injuries are healing for the most part. I patched him up last night, I have a med kit in my apartment. Are you able to do the mission without him? I could step in if you need me to.”
She didn’t want them to worry about him if she could get him on the mend and keep him there. She additionally didn’t want to leave him alone in her apartment in that condition, but she didn’t want his team stranded either. Maybe Xira could babysit him while she was gone if she had to?
“No, that's okay Emily, but thank you. You just take care of him for us while we’re gone. We’ll be back tomorrow afternoon and we’ll check in on him. Keep me posted if you need anything, I’m always here.”
“Thanks Anakin. I’ll keep you posted and he’s in good hands, I promise I’ll take good care of him.”
“Well now, don’t take care of him too well if you know what I mean, he’ll become spoiled.”
Now he and the female voice were laughing. What were they insinuating?
“Bye Anakin and Ashoka.” She spoke in a sing-song, teasing tone. She had a hunch of what they were getting at despite them supposedly being in the dark.
“Bye Emily.” He teased her back.
The comlink disconnected.
Well there was no going back to sleep after that, she was awake now for sure.
She noticed that the chronometer in the bedroom read 8:30 A.M. as she took the towels off of him and put them in the hamper in the refresher. His bandages would need to be changed again but she didn’t want to wake him up just for that yet, it could wait a while longer.
She made herself a cup of cinnamon tea but kept the pot boiling; he’d be awake soon and knew how he'd love a cup.
She had a blend that she had gotten from another healer in the Medical Wing that was specifically designed to help speed up the healing process as it was loaded with special vitamins and herbs.
She was sitting on her couch reading the morning news on her datapad when she heard the bed shift and squeak in her room.
“He would try to get up by himself.” She huffed irritatedly, rising to her feet.
“Nope; lay back down.” She commanded as she briskly walked back into her room.
He ignored her.
She placed her hands on his shoulders and gingerly forced him back on the pillows.
“There’s nothing you need that I can’t get for you.” She told him, sitting down on the side of the bed as she helped him settle himself.
He made a grumpy "hmph" sound as he fumbled with the covers.
“How are you feeling?” She asked, touching his forehead. His skin felt the coolest it had since the event.
She took his face in her hands and titled it slightly in different directions to examine his nose. “Your nose has healed and isn’t broken anymore, so that’s good.”
He sighed as he surrendered to her fussing.
“I’m fine, I just wanted to get up and stretch... you don’t have to help me. I don’t want to inconvenience you.”
“No, you need to stay put.”
He put his head back on the pillow and huffed in annoyance again. If she hadn't been so angry with him from the night before, she would be amused with all the huffing he was doing. Like an annoyed Bantha calf who was being smothered by his mother.
His groggy voice brought her out of her daydream of a little Bantha calf taking a temper tantrum. “What was the horrid beeping noise this morning?”
As soon as he asked the question, a wave of recognition washed over him causing him to jolt forward and grab her hand despite the dull ache of pain in his side.
“THE COMLINK! I’M LATE FOR A MISSION!”  He tried to use her as leverage to get out of the bed but she stopped him.
“Easy killer, easy. They already called looking for you and I sent them off without you, you need your rest, plus you couldn’t go in this condition if you wanted to.”
He formed the same irritated expression that was on his face during their fight last night.
“You answered my comlink? What was your excuse for having it? Where was I? What did you tell them? And that wasn't your call to make...”
“Slow down and calm down. First off, I told Anakin that you were hurt because you did something very stupid in the Arena last night, which you did, and that you were too injured to show up today. I told him I had to take you back to my apartment to heal you and I was letting you sleep. And guess what, like the independent, big boy he is,  Anakin wished you well and went on his mission with Ahsoka and the troops. I told him enough of the truth and surprisingly well it works well...when people listen.” She smiled a sarcastic smile.
He rolled his eyes and looked away from her. “He has a big mouth, he probably found it amusing that you answered and now he won’t be able to keep his mouth shut about it; fantastic.”
“Mmmmm I disagree. He was amused, that’s for sure but I think you're making a bigger deal out of it than he did. Nothing incriminating happened last night, for once, and we can honestly abide by that story if we have to. Someone’s bound to notice the damage in the Arena and the trail of blood that you dripped from the Arena to my apartment. ” She folded her arms across her chest.
He shook his head and chose to move on and drop it. He was tired, sore, and still angry about the previous evening. Yet, one fight with Emily was enough for a lifetime, never mind two in less than 24 hours. As angry as he was, he didn't want to fight with her again if he could help it.
His hands felt the sheets on the bed that were still cold and wet.
Changing the subject, she scoffed at the annoyance of damp, cold sheets. “Why is the bed all wet and cold?”
“You were running a very high fever at various points in the night. I grabbed a bunch of towels and ice packs and threw them on you... I sat down to heal you and further bring it down too. Last I remember it was about 4 in the morning and I was blacking out from exhaustion.”
There was no emotion in her words. They were blank and matter-of-fact. Like he was just another patient again. She had kept up that demeanor since last night. Obi-Wan knew what she was doing; she was detaching herself from her emotions to not fight with him either.
His eyes snapped to hers, “You had to heal me again?….." His mind started racing as he was now fully processing her words. You were able to hold out for that long after everything that happened last night? For almost two hours?” Unlike her, his expression and voice was full of emotion as he was starting to understand what it means when someone loves you.
“Yup.” Short, sweet, and to the point was still her preferred method of speaking to him.
Before he could say anything else she got up from the bed. “I want you to drink a cup of tea, it's a special health blend from a friend who’s a healer and will help you get better quicker, so no arguments. We can't have you hanging around in this bed forever." She spoke to him from over her shoulder as she left the room.
Leaning back against his pillow, he let out a long deep breath and blinked rapidly; he was misty-eyed. That’s three times now in 24 hours she saved his life or sacrificed herself or her well-being for him.
While he was still being a total jerk....an ass....completely terrible to her. Even though he could tell that she was insanely angry at him, she had done everything to save his life. He knew she still felt this way, if he extended himself, he could feel it in their bond and her in her Force signature.
“Because that’s what you do when you love someone you fool. You stand by them and take care of them through thick and thin....even when they do not deserve it." He stared at the ceiling.
Alright, enough now Kenobi. Be a man, when she comes back you need to use your words. You are always preaching to Anakin about patience, humility, and using your words. It's time to listen to your own teachings matter how difficult it is." ” He spoke to himself, self-loathing brimming. However, this new experience did give him a new perspective on Anakin's Padawan years.
Emily came back shortly after his thoughts had settled with a steaming mug of the ruby-colored tea. “Drink.” She commanded as she handed it to him.
Normally, he liked tea and this one was very pleasing. Fruity, with a hint of spice; very flavorful. He took two large sips and could feel the warmness spreading through his body. It tingled as it flowed through him.
He closed his eyes, relishing in the relief it brought.
“Wow, this stuff really works...I can feel it going through me, and I've only had two sips...”
“Keep going; finish the whole thing.” It was a pointed order from her.
He wanted to talk to her instead of focusing on the tea, that was more important to him. But if he knew her, she wouldn’t let him do anything until the cup was finished.
He took the rest of it in large gulps that burned his throat, but he didn’t care.
He placed the mug on her bedside table. Rising slightly and shifting his position to be more at eye level with her, he took her hands in his.
His touch caught her by surprise; and threatened to make her crack; allowing all the emotions she had been holding back to burst. She was still angry at him, figuring her curtness had communicated that. She had stuffed all of her emotions down and was being a “good Jedi.”
That is until he touched her and he looked at her with those eyes that made her heart stop beating, reminding her of a calm ocean after a rocky storm.
She tried to pull away from him, but he put up a gentle resistance, keeping her in place.
“Please. Don’t run from me.” Obi-Wan whispered to her. His glossy blue eyes looked at her seriously.
She could see the sadness in them and could feel it in his Force signature. His voice was soft and quiet as if he was afraid to use it.
“What is it? I'm sure whatever it is, it can wait, you need your rest.” Her voice was raspy and throaty. She shifted her eyes to his hands, if she looked at his face instead with those beautiful eyes, she was going to become emotional again and she was tired of crying. The rollercoaster of emotions had taken its toll on her.
Yet Obi-wan held fast. He moved so that he held both her hands in one of his, and used his other hand to lift her chin, ever so gently, so that their eyes met. “I owe you the biggest apology. Emily…you saved my life three times yesterday, and if you hadn’t done it the first time, then you wouldn’t have been able to do it the other two times. I was able to have that fight with you because you saved my life, and I chose to take the path of frustration, arrogance, and anger in the moments when I should have been thanking you and telling you how grateful I am to you; because I am grateful. I am so incredibly grateful...Throughout his childhood, I was always there for Anakin, but no one was there for me in that way....he was like Padawan, kid brother and son all mixed into one. I didn't know someone could love me that deeply to you...My Darling; sometimes I can't believe that someone loves me enough, let alone that you are that someone...that you love me enough to fight back for me like that, to push yourself to your brink more than once, for me.”
Her lip started to quiver.
"I love you more than anything...but please, you have to understand why I am so angry with you....even if I shouldn't be. Please tell me you understand how you have not made yourself a target of that sick and vile human....the thought of him makes my skin crawl and my blood boil...I almost can't bear it..."
His eyes bore into hers as he gripped her hands tighter. "why Em? Why did you do that? He's going to harass and toy with you every opportunity he gets... His focus was on me and I was trying to keep it there..."
Emily’s eyes were watering.  “......He was hurting you….” The tears started falling rapidly as her breath came out erratic gasps.
That was it. It sounded so basic, so simple; but it was no less true. She would never let anyone hurt him if she could help it. It didn't matter that it was someone who was once a friend and fellow Jedi, but had now become a borderline vindictive and manipulative psychopath.
Obi-Wan softened. He couldn't stand to see her cry, and she had been doing so much of that lately.
Leaning forward, he used his thumb to wipe away every tear that fell from her warm and gentle chocolate eyes.
As she attempted to control her breathing, He gave her that half-smile he was famous for.
“It seems as if someone is as protective of me as I am of them.”
They chuckled together while he now held her face in his hands. His thumbs continued to dry her tears...the lightsaber-worn pads of his thumbs rubbed themselves soothingly into her skin.
“Emily, the thought of leaving you alone in life makes me worried sick. If I had died, my last thoughts would have been about you. How much I love you and how sick with regret and worry I would be that now I can’t be there for you, that you would have been at his mercy in that moment ... I know what I did was wrong, I should have listened to you and denied his challenge.....Yet I don’t regret fighting him, he needs to be stopped and I wanted it to be me who did it. I’m sorry, I’m still angry about what happened. I don’t like what you did. Just as you had to witness your fears last night, one of mine is not being able to protect you; it’s who I am and I won't apologize for it. Now that you stepped in, you technically have to fight him to finish the challenge. He’s not going to forget about that.”
“I’m still upset too. If you hadn’t accepted then none of this would have happened. I told you to just walk away, and everything would have been fine. I understand why you’re upset, that you don’t want me to fight him because he’s unstable, but I couldn’t let him hurt you, I just couldn't, I snapped. I’m sorry, I was scared and angry. Then when you started yelling at me, between what Sorv did, Mual's visions, and what I saw during the fight, I just lashed out at you in anger, I said things I shouldn’t have and I’m sorry.”
She removed his hands from her face and held them.
Obi-Wan returned the jester, holding her hands lovingly. “Then let's agree to disagree because we aren’t going to get anywhere; we were both right and we were both wrong it sounds like. We had our reasons for the way we reacted. To be perfectly honest, I can’t fight with you. It hurts me too much and it’s a waste of time because it’s not going to solve or change anything. Not only that, we’re allowing him to come between us, and I won’t allow that, not him. If we’re going to fight then let it be about something better than him. I’m sorry I was horrible and rude. Thank you so much for being there for me. My Dear, I love you. If this situation comes up again, I pray I’m around. I’ll let you do what you feel you have to do when the time comes because I do know you can handle yourself, but I will step in and end it if I have to; I’m done with his games.”
She leaned forward and gently hugged him, mindful of his side. Her head was buried in the crook of his neck. He wrapped his arms around her and leaned back so that they were resting on the pillows.
“Obi-Wan there isn’t anything you can’t protect me from. You’ve never failed me. The reason you failed last night was because you fought fair and he didn’t. You aren't a monster like he is and I don’t know if you ever could be, but that’s why I love you and not him. I don’t want you to be a monster. Yes, I agree. We did what we did, it is what it is and we have our reasons. If he comes back looking for another round, we’ll go from there. But honestly, I don’t know if I even accept his challenge, it’s not worth it. He’s not right in his mind; I’d rather involve the council sooner rather than later.”
She couldn’t see his face, she was still buried in him. He raised his eyes to the heavens and thanked the Force she didn’t feel the need to go after Sorv. He wouldn't stop her from accepting his challenge, because that would be the double standard that they argued about, but he’d absolutely go with her to the challenge. Knowing that she would have to fight that madman made him want to turn into a monster if it meant protecting her.
He placed a loving kiss into her hair. “We’ll go from here if it ever comes up again. We seem to have an understanding. For now, let's move on. My time with you is more precious and important than to waste it arguing about him and his foul games. I love you, I will always protect you, and stand by you. Always.”
She lifted her head and kissed his lips. “Why do you get to have the big mushy lines that quell my anger and suddenly I’m in love with you all over again?” She was smiling.
“Ah, because that’s just it My Love. I’m a stupid fool who is hopelessly and uncontrollably in love with you. And unfortunately for you, My Dear, you happen to love this fool back. I mean...I’m irresistibly handsome and charming so you have no shot of resisting me and I get infinite chances at making you smile again.” He teased her.
He closed the distance and attempted to kiss her but she was laughing. He still kissed her anyway.
Emily giggled, turning into his advances, and easily found his lips.
“I don’t know about infinite chances but you might be onto something with the charming and handsome part. And you're right. I do love you back. Sometimes I’m scared at how much I love you back and maybe it’s okay that you know that.” His beard tickled her as snuggled back into him.
He held her close and rested his forehead against hers. The day had started with them being miles apart from one another even though they were under the same roof. Now, the distance was gone and their hearts were whole.
They lay there for the morning, drifting in and out of sleep, content to be next to one another.
By early afternoon she had changed his bandages. She ran to his apartment and grabbed him a new, clean tunic. They changed and dressed and went to speak to the Jedi Council.
They gave their somewhat altered, slightly rehearsed statement of the story together, to Council. Rehearsed and altered only in the sense that they left out their argument and this morning's words of love; everything else was as exactly as it happened.
After they were dismissed, Jedi Master Sorv Deprov was escorted by two temple guards into the Jedi Council Chamber. Normally Obi-Wan sat on the council but given that he was involved in this matter, he was not allowed to sit as an active council member during Sorv’s questioning.
Master Derprov neither accepted or rebutted the charges against him as Master Windu repeated the accusations and Master Yoda questioned him for his side of the story..
When the council spoke to him, the Jedi master in question simply just stared back at them, blankly; void of all emotion.
Luckily for Emily and Obi-Wan, their story matched up with the cracks in the Arena wall and the pool of blood on the ground, because Sorv, mysteriously, had not a scratch on him.
Given the fact that Sorv made no effort to defend himself or add any input to the story, and given his reputation for struggling with aggression, the Council unanimously ruled in Obi-Wan and Emily’s favor.
Sorv was suspended from the field until further notice, temporarily stripped of his clone regiment until his sentence was served, and was confined to the Temple and its grounds. Additionally, he had to engage in group meditation with Master Yoda three times a week to gain control of his anger and emotions.
“I accept my sentence.” Was the only thing Sorv said during his questioning, the empty stair plastered to his face. His eyes were hollow, void of emotion…Master Yoda thought that even rage would be acceptable…normal for the master even…but emptiness ... the elder Jedi found that even more concerning.
“A closer eye I will keep on him, during the meditations, I will.” Yoda thought to himself as he watched the suspicious Jedi be escorted out of the chamber.

I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and finally decided I might as well just go ahead and do it. Send in a prompt and a duo, and I'll write a short fic for you! Feel free to reblog or alter for your own purposes.
